- 0:05Why Do the Heathen Rage? So we're going to get into Jesus
- 0:10went through during a very tumultuous period in his life
- 0:13with his apostles and what we're going through.
- 0:16And they're very similar, more similar than you think.
- 0:19And it explains a lot of the behavior that's going on in the
- 0:22world today. Now, I also like to take a few
- 0:25moments in the introduction to tell you if there's some
- 0:28significant events coming up in the Urantia community.
- 0:32So if you have a significant event that you would like to
- 0:35promote, send it to me at urantiabookradio@gmail.com.
- 0:39But do me a favor, promote what we're doing here.
- 0:42We're trying to grow at the podcast because we're trying to
- 0:45grow awareness of the 5th epical revelation.

- 1:18about this upcoming Spotlight series in a second.
- 1:22Why do the heathen rage? Good question, isn't it?
- 1:25Let's find out what Jesus had to say about it.
- 1:47Well, it's really nice to have you back here for another
- 1:49edition of the The Ranch Radio podcast.
- 1:52And today we're going to talk about something that I've
- 1:55thought about often and and there's a reason that I called
- 1:57this episode, the the heathen are raging.
- 2:01And the reason that the heathen are raging are plenty, no
- 2:05question about that. But I think, I think it is often
- 2:10when I see the amount of confusion that's going on in the
- 2:14world and there's no doubt a lot of people are anxious, very
- 2:18anxious. Even my son was commenting about
- 2:21how everywhere he goes, people are just really caught up in all
- 2:24that's going on. And I can certainly detect that
- 2:27when I have people on the program.
- 2:29And if you've noticed in the last couple of episodes,
- 2:31everybody is really concerned about what's happening.
- 2:34There's there's no question. I know in my mind and in your
- 2:37mind that the earth is going through a transition.
- 2:41And the way that I explained it to my son was that, you know, up
- 2:45until most recently, things in life took a long time to change.
- 2:50It wasn't really until, say, the discovery of certain principles
- 2:54like, you know, steam power and electricity that things started
- 2:58to accelerate. Just like right after the Guten,
- 3:02the Gutenberg press and people started being able to read,
- 3:06things started to develop. Well, now the ship is out of the
- 3:09harbor and the Urantia Book among you know, I'm not not only
- 3:14the Urantia book, but every anything right now will tell you
- 3:18that the thing, the rate at which there is change is very
- 3:23unsettling. And they talk about this in
- 3:25paper 195 of the Urantia book where they talk about the future
- 3:29and it's natural to feel anxious.
- 3:32So let's all take a a breath and understand that yes, we are a
- 3:37part of a particular inflection point in history, but not as all
- 3:42lost. You know, we will get through
- 3:43this. We've gotten through a lot
- 3:45worse. I'm sure that it was a lot
- 3:47harder to live as a Sangick as it is to live as a as an
- 3:51American, you know. But nevertheless, there are
- 3:54forces at work that are creating a lot of the tension in the
- 3:59world, and most of it has to do with power and people who are
- 4:03arrogant and they just want to be in control.
- 4:06Other people want to be left alone, but they're also
- 4:09underlying forces. And I do believe that we are in
- 4:13an ideological struggle. I absolutely believe that.
- 4:16And it is between materialism and faith.
- 4:20And and when is it has have hasn't been that.
- 4:23And you know, Jesus addresses this.
- 4:26And I I really wanted to give homage to this particular
- 4:30subject because there's a lot you can say about the heathen.
- 4:33And I'm going to read a little bit from paper 155 about fleeing
- 4:39through North Northern Galilee and what was going on at the
- 4:42time. And I started reading the before
- 4:46paper 155. I went to paper 153 because the
- 4:511:55 is a result of what was happening in one.
- 4:55In paper 153 and 153 talks about the time.
- 5:00Do you remember the story of when Jesus fed the 5000 people?
- 5:05Remember when he miraculously handed out these baskets and had
- 5:09unlimited fish And there was a whole lot of stuff going on at
- 5:13that time. The the rise, it was the 3rd or
- 5:16the end of the third preaching tour and Jesus started to become
- 5:20popular and and crowds were going out to watch him.
- 5:24He's just like when crowds go out to watch Taylor Swift,
- 5:27right? You know what, back in those
- 5:29days, you know, a man, a preacher, a man who spoke truth,
- 5:33the man who would speak before, you know, hundreds or dozens of
- 5:37people and they would all fall in love with this guy.
- 5:39He was just an attractive man in in the greatest sense.
- 5:44And why not? He was the son of God.
- 5:45I mean, he was sent here to do what he's doing.
- 5:48And he's out there preaching and teaching and he's got his 12
- 5:51apostles and he's got an evangelical corps and and he is
- 5:56really becoming something in this time.
- 5:59But it created a crisis in a way.
- 6:02And there were events that happened as a consequence to the
- 6:05feeding of the 5000. So if you remember a few days
- 6:09before what I'm about to discuss about the heathen, Jesus had
- 6:13just fed the 5000 and he did through a a a real miracle.
- 6:18He was somehow, through the power of being a creator's son,
- 6:21he was able to accelerate time in taking the bread and the fish
- 6:25and somehow circumventing time to produce what was inherently
- 6:30possible in his bread and in the fish.
- 6:33Now, how he did that, you can read about in the Orancha book.
- 6:36But Needless to say, it was this act that started to concern the
- 6:42religious leaders of the day. And so I want to read a little
- 6:45bit from that particular paper. 153 says Jesus endeavored to
- 6:50prepare the apostles for the impending shock, the crisis in
- 6:53the public attitude toward him, which was only a few days
- 6:57distant. And he explained to the 12 that
- 7:00the religious rulers of Jerusalem would conspire with
- 7:03Herod Antipas to affect their destruction.
- 7:07The 12 began to realize more fully, though not finally, that
- 7:12Jesus was not going to sit on David's throne.
- 7:15This is was not going to be an endeavor where this rising
- 7:19popular figure was going to take over and fulfill the prophecy
- 7:23right. And the the apostles started to
- 7:26realize there was some angst. Because you know, usually when
- 7:29you people are fickle, you know it's not an accident that the
- 7:33very people that were clamoring and celebrating the master and
- 7:37the feeding 5000 and they wanted to make him a king.
- 7:40Many were in the same audience where they were crying free.
- 7:45Barabbas people are fickle human beings.
- 7:48That's a characteristic that human beings have.
- 7:51And the apostles of Jesus were fully coming to the awareness of
- 7:54the spiritual truth was not going to be advanced by material
- 7:58wonders. Feeding 5000 people wasn't going
- 8:01to change much. It might appease some people,
- 8:04but they began to realize that the feeding of the 5000 and the
- 8:07popular movement to make Jesus King was the apex of the miracle
- 8:12seeking, wonder, working expectants of the people, and
- 8:16the height of Jesus's acclaim by the populace.
- 8:18From here on it heads downward and they start to work against
- 8:22him. And these apostles only vaguely
- 8:25discerned and dimly foresaw the approaching times of spiritual
- 8:30sifting and cruel adversity. And so I want to interject
- 8:34Psalms 2. This is where we get the quote.
- 8:37Why do the heathen rage? And it and it says from from the
- 8:40Bible, why did the heathen rage And the people imagine a vain
- 8:44thing. The kings of the earth set
- 8:47themselves, and the rulers take counsel together and against the
- 8:50Lord and against His anointed, saying, let us break their bands
- 8:54asunder and castaway their cords from us He that sitteth in the
- 8:59heavens shall laugh. The Lord shall have them in
- 9:03derision. And so now we move on to paper.
- 9:06I want you to remember that quote because Jesus uses that
- 9:10quote to illustrate his point of what is about to happen.
- 9:14And it's and it's very relative to what's happening today in
- 9:17society, The rejection of faith, the rejection of religion, the
- 9:21rejection of of anything that doesn't have to do with
- 9:25materialism really, but it at its essence, at its core, it's
- 9:29the same thing today that the apostles and Jesus were going
- 9:33through then as they were going about spreading truth.
- 9:37They were a threat to the norm. They were a threat to the
- 9:40religious authority. They were a threat to the Roman
- 9:43authority. So it reads from Paper 155.
- 9:46Before retiring for the night, the Master called his followers
- 9:49around him and discussed with them the plans for their
- 9:53projected tour through Botania and northern Galilee to the
- 9:57Phoenician coast. Why do the heathen rage?
- 10:00And Jesus said, You should all recall how the psalmist spoke of
- 10:04these times, saying, Why do the heathen rage and the people plot
- 10:08in vain? The kings of the earth set
- 10:10themselves and the rulers of the people take counsel together
- 10:15against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, let us break
- 10:19the bonds of mercy asunder and let us castaway the cords of
- 10:23love. Do you see that that's happening
- 10:26today? Materialism, some sort of
- 10:28exalted humanism and it breaks the bound.
- 10:32People don't believe in faith anymore, do they?
- 10:34They don't. You know, in many, many ways
- 10:37it's almost as as as it has nothing to do with anything.
- 10:40And the the kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers of
- 10:45the people get together and they push out faith and anything to
- 10:49do with God. You heard it the other day when
- 10:51they were talking about that people that were believe that
- 10:55their rights and their free will came from God were, you know,
- 10:58being considered as problematic. Jesus goes on to say today you
- 11:03see fulfilled before your eyes, but you shall not see the
- 11:06remainder of the Psalmist prophecy fulfilled, for he
- 11:09entertained erroneous ideas about the Son of Man and his
- 11:13mission on earth. My Kingdom is founded on love,
- 11:16proclaimed in mercy and established by unselfish
- 11:20service. My Father does not sit in heaven
- 11:22laughing in derision at the heathen.
- 11:25He is not wrathful in his great displeasure.
- 11:28True is the promise that the Son shall have so-called heathen in
- 11:34reality his ignorant and untaught brethren for an
- 11:37inheritance. So Christ is identifying there
- 11:40that you know I have to deal with these people too, that
- 11:42reject me. They're part of my family,
- 11:45they're my children. And he goes on to say, I will
- 11:48receive these Gentiles with an open arm of mercy and affection,
- 11:52regardless of how silly they are.
- 11:55Really. All this loving kindness shall
- 11:57be shown the so-called heathen, notwithstanding the unfortunate
- 12:01declaration of the record, which intimates that the triumphant
- 12:05Son quote, shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them to
- 12:10pieces like a Potter's vessel. End Quote.
- 12:12Jesus says the psalmist exhorted you to serve the Lord with fear.
- 12:16I bid you to enter into the exalted privilege of divine
- 12:21sonship. By faith he commands you to
- 12:24rejoice. With trembling I bid you
- 12:27rejoice. With assurance.
- 12:29He says, kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish with
- 12:33His wrath. His when His wrath is kindled.
- 12:36And I emphasize this point because it's such a great point,
- 12:39But you have lived with me, and you know that anger and wrath
- 12:43are not a part of the establishment of the Kingdom of
- 12:46heaven and the hearts of men. But he says the psalmist did
- 12:49glimpse the true light when in finishing his exhortation, he
- 12:54said blessed are they who put their trust in the sun.
- 12:57And I'll be honest with you that for a while.
- 13:00And I go through periods where I'm really disconcerted about
- 13:03the way of the world. But I'm always rejoicing and I
- 13:07always get refreshed when I think about that.
- 13:11This man was real and he knows about this and he is the creator
- 13:15son. And I put full confidence in
- 13:18what he says. And this is where it gets really
- 13:20important, because this is where Jesus actually takes on the
- 13:23heathen, whether it's in his age or in our age.
- 13:26And I want you to think about the heathen as a particular
- 13:29group of people and what they have planned for us in the new
- 13:34world Order for whatever you want to call it.
- 13:36He says Jesus continued to teach the 24 his apostles and the
- 13:41evangel quote. The heathen are not without
- 13:43excuse. When they rage at us because
- 13:46their outlook is small and narrow, they're able to
- 13:49concentrate their energies enthusiastically.
- 13:52Think about what he's saying, that they and their mission,
- 13:55whatever their mission is, is small and narrow, finite.
- 13:59So they can put all their energy, all their resources, all
- 14:03their lobbying, all of their pressure, they can put it all
- 14:07into what they want, he says. Their goal is near and more or
- 14:10less visible. Where for do they strive with
- 14:13valiant and effective execution? You who have professed entrance
- 14:18into the Kingdom of heaven are altogether too facilitating and
- 14:22indefinite in your teaching conduct.
- 14:25And I know this is true for me. I'm, I'm, I'm always, hey, let
- 14:29them go on their merry way. They're not going to get
- 14:32anything from. I'm not going to spare any truth
- 14:34on them. It's going to be like, what's
- 14:36that expression? You know, this pearls before
- 14:38swine? It's sort of a spiritual
- 14:40arrogance, right? I'm not even interested in
- 14:43saving them. Why would I want to engage in
- 14:45somebody who's already told me they don't believe in God?
- 14:48Why would I want to waste my time?
- 14:50Jesus says he goes the heathen strike directly for their
- 14:52objectives. You are guilty of too much
- 14:55chronic yearning. If you desire to enter the
- 14:58Kingdom, why do you not take it by spiritual assault?
- 15:02Even as the heathen takes a city they lay sage to, they lay siege
- 15:06to. You are hardly worthy of the
- 15:08Kingdom when your service consists so largely in an
- 15:12attitude of regretting the past, whining over the present, and
- 15:16vainly hoping for the future. Why do the heathen rage?
- 15:20Because they know not the truth. Why do you languish in feudal
- 15:24yearning? Because you do not obey the
- 15:28truth. Cease your useless yearning and
- 15:31go forth bravely doing that which concerns the establishment
- 15:35of of the Kingdom. And those are the words of
- 15:38Jesus. Quote in all that you do.
- 15:40Become not one sided and over specialized The Pharisees who
- 15:44seek our destruction think they are doing God's service.
- 15:47They've become so narrowed by tradition that they are blinded
- 15:51by prejudice and burdened by fear.
- 15:53Let me emphatically state this eternal truth.
- 15:57If you by truth coordination learn to exemplify in your lives
- 16:02this beautiful wholeness of righteousness, your fellow men
- 16:06will then seek after you, that they may gain what you have so
- 16:10acquired. And so I take that to me.
- 16:12And when you have that confidence, I heard one somebody
- 16:15told me, confidence attracts arrogance, repels.
- 16:19The measure where with true seekers are drawn to you
- 16:22represents the measure of your truth, endowment, your
- 16:25righteousness. The extent to which you have to
- 16:27go through with your message to the people is in a way the
- 16:31measure of your failure to live the whole or righteous life, the
- 16:35truth coordinated life. And I really wanted to share
- 16:39that message with you, because that's such an important message
- 16:42coming from the master himself. But today we can see that the
- 16:45heathen rage, making people who are faithful and portraying them
- 16:49as unsophisticated, going after people who are trying to protect
- 16:53the unborn. Sexualizing children because
- 16:57they abide not in the truth but in fetishism.
- 17:00Asserting that there is no God, that there is only science, or
- 17:04that there's only that which can be observed.
- 17:07Killing people because they believe in God or Christ or any
- 17:10religion, Killing any, any person because of who they
- 17:14believe in is wrong. Killing people because
- 17:17governments are atheistic and religion is illegal, only
- 17:21subservient to the state. There are so many governments
- 17:23now that kill or arrest people because they have a Bible or
- 17:28because they profess faith in a number of different religions,
- 17:31not just about Christians. Demonizing people who love
- 17:34marriage and raising children and think that that's an
- 17:37important part of society. And they're now being portrayed
- 17:40as patriarchal and misogynistic negative connotations, large
- 17:45corporations and governments who enforce medicine as a treatment
- 17:48for depression and emotional discomfort and playing down the
- 17:52efficacy of prayer, worship, service, family, community,
- 17:58riots in the streets are allowed where people are are wanting
- 18:02license without restraint, and who seek retribution for
- 18:06ancestral grievances and do not serve their brothers and
- 18:09sisters. And then you've got cartels run
- 18:12by people who are Catholic, who purposefully destroy human life
- 18:16by peddling addiction. Yes, their purpose is 1 sided
- 18:19and singular. They love prophets and in power
- 18:23more than they love humanity. And it isn't just limited to
- 18:26cartels. Many influential corporate
- 18:29leaders behave the same way. So now we understand why the
- 18:33heathen are sometimes more victorious.
- 18:36Jesus is asking us to take the hill with a spiritual assault.
- 18:39That doesn't mean violence. It means having spiritual
- 18:43conviction, acting upon them and defending them.
- 18:46And that's about as preachy as I'll ever get.
- 18:48But that's that's the emotional stirring of my soul when I read
- 18:53about this and I just wanted to share with you.
- 18:55And I promised I would. And there you have it, Another,
- 18:58another show in the can, as they say, well, listen, it's been so
