- 0:00Welcome to fight my datak, a podcast that helps bridge, the
- 0:03gap between healthcare workers and First Responders and
- 0:06everything in between. I'm excited to share with you
- 0:12this replay of the webinar that I hosted on how to become a
- 0:15flight nurse or how to become a flight paramedic.
- 0:17I go over the common objections that I hear from people in the
- 0:21common fears that come up from the clients that I work with,
- 0:23are the people that are just interested in getting into the
- 0:26industry, but feel like something is holding them back.
- 0:30I talk about my philosophy and how getting there, and what do
- 0:32you have to believe about yourself, to be able to sit in
- 0:35that seat and get extended an offer?
- 0:38And I talked about how I show my clients head, To do this in a
- 0:41simple easy, doable less stress and overwhelming Manner.
- 0:47And you'll also get to hear some people who are on the call, get
- 0:50coached and get to hear some of their fears or some things that
- 0:54they're facing that they have questions about on that are
- 0:58holding them back and from getting there.
- 0:59So without further Ado, I hope you enjoyed this episode Okay,
- 1:09I'm going to just go ahead and get started, as people are
- 1:11trickling, and I'm going to let them on thanks for turning on
- 1:15your camera. That I'd love to see everybody's
- 1:16lovely faces. Thanks for coming today.
- 1:20I really appreciate you guys showing up.
- 1:23I don't take it lightly. I know you guys are all really
- 1:26busy with your shift work and your lives.
- 1:28So just great to have you guys here and I just want to offer
- 1:33for you guys to get what you came for out of this webinar.
- 1:36Like get your questions answered.
- 1:39Ask me questions and I'll be here for you to help facilitate
- 1:41getting what you need. So I just want you to also think
- 1:45about, if you are having that question someone else on here
- 1:48today is as well. So I wanted to start out with
- 1:51introducing myself. Most you guys have been
- 1:54following me or see me on Instagram, but just wanted to
- 1:57tell you a little bit about myself.
- 1:59First, I have been a nurse for about 12 years, six of those.
- 2:03I spent in a med-surg, I see you and then I moved on to flight
- 2:06and I spent the last like six and Have seven years in Flight,
- 2:11I left flight nursing. Totally and January, because I
- 2:15started coaching full time. I started coaching about a year
- 2:18and a half ago and I help all healthcare workers.
- 2:20And First Responders, I've been General Life, coach for
- 2:25healthcare workers and First Responders.
- 2:26So I coach them anything on gaining confidence, getting to
- 2:29their goals work-life balance. The stressors of the job,
- 2:32anything that comes up for them. And then the other half of that
- 2:35is, I helped paramedics and nurses that are trying to get
- 2:38into flight. Might help them do it in a
- 2:40simple and doable and easy way and help.
- 2:43Also other people whether they're wherever, they're
- 2:46starting in their Journey, create a path for them.
- 2:48That's going to give them confidence with less stress and
- 2:52overwhelm to move themselves towards that direction of
- 2:54eventually getting into flight as well.
- 2:57So that's a little bit about myself.
- 3:00I feel free to put anything in the chat as well.
- 3:03Like as questions are coming up for you.
- 3:06I'm going to spend the majority of this time.
- 3:09Together coaching you guys and answering any questions.
- 3:12So this isn't going to be me just talking and be very
- 3:14interactive as well. The first 10 minutes.
- 3:17I'm just going to talk to you guys about some things about
- 3:19flight and then for about 35 minutes, I'm going to open it up
- 3:24for questions for you guys and anything that you guys want
- 3:26coaching on, so that you can kind of see a little bit of my
- 3:28coaching style and get your questions answered that you have
- 3:33for me as well. Like I said if there's something
- 3:36that comes up for you someone else definitely is thinking
- 3:39about that in this room so offer for you to just ask me the
- 3:43question and or get coaching on things that are maybe coming up
- 3:47for your obstacles that you're facing at the end of this.
- 3:50Our time together, probably about 10 minutes before the
- 3:53hour, I'm going to do a deeper dive of what I offer with my
- 3:56coaching services and talk about my one-on-one coaching and then
- 3:59my flight prep group that's currently open for enrollment.
- 4:04So so I'm going to just start with talking to about people,
- 4:07add their own personal flavor of what else they think is needed
- 4:12based on either what they've read, or what they've heard, or
- 4:16whether what they've researched on how to get into flight, and
- 4:19it is so simple. But people want to add confusion
- 4:22to it, it's so simple. Most companies do just require
- 4:27three to five years of ice. You or ER, experience there is a
- 4:33caveat to this. Of course, there are some
- 4:35Hospital based companies. There are companies that want
- 4:38pediatric, or there are companies that want both, but
- 4:41the majority of flight companies out there just require that
- 4:44three to five years of ICU. Or ER, if you're a paramedic
- 4:48they usually require three to five years of being a paramedic.
- 4:52They like a little bit of CCT or critical care experience.
- 4:54If you have that in there as well, the second requirement
- 4:58some of them are looking at and are but are moving away from is
- 5:02some require the CCRN or the Een.
- 5:05I'm seeing that most companies are moving away from this
- 5:08because it is a canes requirement.
- 5:10Now of what you do, get hired in the flight, you have to get your
- 5:13seat FRN, but they give you two years to do that once you get
- 5:17hired with a company. So I always recommend to my
- 5:21clients to get their CC CC RN or the Cen, but it isn't a
- 5:26requirement. And I've had clients get hired
- 5:27without that, as well. So, just those two things that
- 5:31mainly the first one, three to five years of, I see or
- 5:33experience. The problem is, once people read
- 5:37these requirements and they start to make it a problem, and
- 5:39they start to get some excuses in their head and your brain is
- 5:42going to offer you different flavors of this.
- 5:45And this is what I've seen, you're too old, you're too
- 5:48young, it's not the right time. I don't know enough and the big
- 5:52one is, I need more experience. And so I just want to offer you
- 5:56guys that are all on today, no matter where you are, in this
- 5:59journey for me. I knew I wanted to get into
- 6:01flight when I started nursing school and so wherever Ever, you
- 6:04are on this journey. I want to start offering you.
- 6:06These thoughts, you know, enough, you have what it takes.
- 6:11It can be done with less stress and overwhelm.
- 6:14And you belong here and some things that I was some
- 6:17objections. That I hear from people that I
- 6:19just want to go over and talk with you guys about is that you
- 6:22don't need both ICU and er experience you don't need
- 6:25devices or specialty I see use and you don't need level one
- 6:29trauma ER or ice use to get into flight.
- 6:34Were some things where I see my ER nurses lacking and where I
- 6:37really helped them. Make up some of those weaknesses
- 6:40is the ER nurses who are trying to get enough light, usually
- 6:43lack a little bit of ventilator and advanced hemodynamics as
- 6:46your nurses we just don't get to play with the ventilators very
- 6:49much. We have our teas that do a lot
- 6:51of that and so I'll help you figure out the basics of the
- 6:54knowledge that you do need to know for the ventilators in
- 6:56advance. He my dynamics of going into the
- 6:58interview and the rest are going to really teach you hands on how
- 7:01to do what Their particular ventilator.
- 7:03And their protocols that they're going to be using as far as
- 7:08ventilator management for their patient.
- 7:10My ICU nurses that are trying to get in Flight, usually lacks
- 7:13some trauma and pre-hospital and Trauma surveys.
- 7:16And so I'm going to tell you exactly what they're looking
- 7:19for. Going into the interview at the
- 7:20basic level of kind of like what you need to know for that as
- 7:23well. The main thought that I hear
- 7:27from a lot of people is just thinking that you need more
- 7:30experience because you've been told no before.
- 7:33So A lot of people that come to me, have been have interviewed
- 7:38have applied and they they got told no or they gave someone
- 7:42else a job. And so, what they do with that
- 7:46is that they say, well, I don't have enough experience and so
- 7:49they go out there and they try to get more experience and
- 7:52action their way of gaining more experience.
- 7:54Instead of focusing on the strengths that they already
- 7:57possess and who they are, and what they value, this is what I
- 8:01teach that companies are looking for who You are and what you
- 8:05value, and the strength and super powers that you have to
- 8:08bring to the table as the team member your mindset and what you
- 8:12are thinking in the interview is what they will hear.
- 8:15Whether you say it or not and I'm going to give you an example
- 8:19of what a hear, a lot of my clients say who have done
- 8:21interviews and maybe not been successful before, is I don't
- 8:24belong here and that's what they will hear.
- 8:28And sometimes it's created just from nervousness of the
- 8:30interview and that's okay, too. I'm going to show you how to
- 8:33navigate the Nervousness and still do really well because our
- 8:36brain tries to tell us we can't be nervous and still be
- 8:38successful. But we all know that's not true
- 8:41because we all do jobs where were nervous and we're still
- 8:43really successful where their patients so, but I do want to go
- 8:47back to this. Sometimes our nervousness takes
- 8:49us over and those people go in like with this lot.
- 8:52Like I don't belong here, I don't have enough experience.
- 8:55And that's what they will hear whether or not you say it or
- 8:57not. And I'm going to go go into that
- 9:01a little bit like what we can switch that phrase.
- 9:03Then our mind to. So that, that is what they hear.
- 9:07Whenever we have this thought, I don't belong.
- 9:09That's what the words. And the actions that come out of
- 9:12our mouth display in the interview and that's ultimately
- 9:16like what they're thinking as well when the interview is over,
- 9:19like, I don't know if they have enough experience.
- 9:21I don't know if they belong here.
- 9:22And so we want to go in with more confidence.
- 9:25I'm going to really teach you guys how to do that.
- 9:27Another thing that I hear is, I've applied to many companies,
- 9:31and I've never heard anything this is.
- 9:33A big one. I want to offer you guys in the
- 9:36way that I teach my clients is that this is not like a hospital
- 9:42or a ground application, where usually these hospitals reach
- 9:45out to you, right away, or ground companies, reach out to
- 9:47you right away because you have that critical pric.
- 9:51You experience. They, we have like this
- 9:53entitlement sometimes because we apply to these hospitals and
- 9:58companies and people reach out to us, right away.
- 10:00But flight companies aren't like that they they Want to find
- 10:04extraordinary people and so that requires us to be a little bit
- 10:08more extraordinary. And I say that in a way, that
- 10:13means that it requires you to seek them out, you have to show
- 10:17them your willingness. You have to reach out after
- 10:20submitting applications. Not once twice three times
- 10:23multiple times. As many times as you can, who
- 10:26you start to hear something from them, email, managers basis, or
- 10:30companies that you're interested in and ask about their openings,
- 10:33Even if you don't see one online, it's almost like
- 10:36creating the job for yourself that you want.
- 10:38When you show that willingness this is what separates you from
- 10:41everybody else. Because the majority of the
- 10:43people will put in applications not hear anything and then
- 10:47thinking that their mind that I don't know enough, they don't
- 10:50want me, I don't have enough experience, but that's not it at
- 10:52all. They want the people who are
- 10:54willing to be extraordinary and go out there and get it, that's
- 10:57what's going to separate you from everybody else.
- 10:59So I talked about that kind of as well in my coaching and how
- 11:03to go about. Doing that.
- 11:05And then just again staying on top of exactly where you are in
- 11:10the process and pursue the recruiters and the company's
- 11:14most like companies have recruiters and I call them.
- 11:16They're basically Gatekeepers. They usually don't have any
- 11:19medical experience at all but they're the ones that once we
- 11:22can get through to them and really be on top of them that
- 11:25they're the ones who are going to give us the interviews with
- 11:27the managers and the clinical Personnel.
- 11:29So I'm going to really show you how to navigate Recruiters in
- 11:32the company's and how to be a little Bit different and you're
- 11:34thinking, as far as that goes, so you have to pursue them, not
- 11:38wait for them to pursue. This is a little bit of a
- 11:40difference in it. You'll also get a lot of
- 11:43opinions out there from friends and family members and others in
- 11:46the industry. And I know if any of you have
- 11:49been pursuing it, you're going to talk to a lot of different
- 11:51people and they're going to give you a lot of different things,
- 11:53but I really focus on your mindset and your belief in
- 11:57yourself, and this will drive to actions, you take in this entire
- 12:00process. And I'm going to talk about that
- 12:03a little bit later and help you guys coach on that because your
- 12:06mindset and your belief in getting there is going to be
- 12:09what's key and getting you hired.
- 12:12A couple other things that I hear is rural versus level one
- 12:17Trauma Centers whether it's ER or ice you like which one is
- 12:20best and I just want to offer you guys that both of them are
- 12:22great. They're looking for both sets of
- 12:25nurses and everything in between rural nurses or anybody who's
- 12:29worked in a rural Hospital capacity.
- 12:31Whether it's a five-bedroom We are at n bed.
- 12:33I see you know that they are super They are the nurses that
- 12:40are super resourceful and get what they need for their patient
- 12:43because you don't always have a physician there.
- 12:45And so these are the nurses that are really good.
- 12:48Critical thinkers really good team players and always get what
- 12:52they need for the patient because they have to they don't
- 12:54always have a provider there to help them.
- 12:56So that makes a really great nurse and on the other side,
- 13:01nurses that have level 1 experience.
- 13:03They've seen a little bit different to they've seen a lot
- 13:05of different patient. These, they've been in a
- 13:09teaching Hospital, they've been around a lot of Specialties, so
- 13:12that offers a different type of nurse as well.
- 13:14So rural versus level 1 and everything in between.
- 13:17They want all of that and it's not necessary to have both of
- 13:20those things. The other thing that I also hear
- 13:24is it's not the right time and I want to offer all of you guys.
- 13:27It's just like having a baby. There is no secret level of
- 13:30experience or years that you need to be ready.
- 13:33I have nurses that come to me that have been nurses or
- 13:36paramedics for three years. And think that they don't have
- 13:39enough experience, but I also have nurses and paramedics.
- 13:42I've been doing it for 15, 20 years and have the same thought
- 13:46we all know clinicians in both Fields who have been doing it
- 13:49for 15 or 20 years and that doesn't necessarily make them a
- 13:52great clinician. And so, this is one thing that I
- 13:55help you work on and Coach onto that they experience and the
- 13:58knowledge that you do have is enough.
- 14:00And I've also had clients who have been under that amount of
- 14:03time who have been at two years, or two and a half years, and
- 14:07because they've done so Well in the interview, they have been
- 14:10offered an offer for the company and so I always recommend as
- 14:14well, even if you're not at the 3-year started playing six
- 14:17months prior to the requirement for the companies that you are
- 14:20looking for. I want to put an emphasis on if
- 14:26you go in with some of this mindset and these thoughts that
- 14:29you don't have enough experience and you're not enough that even
- 14:32after you get a job that you're going to continue thinking like
- 14:36this and you'll continue to struggle with this.
- 14:38Even after you, get hired the not enough - and imposter
- 14:41syndrome will show up and all of that.
- 14:43And so this is really where I like to help you because if you
- 14:46can work on your mindset prior to the interview, it's going to
- 14:49be that much easier for you. Once you get hired to a lot of
- 14:52people think it's going to be better once you get There, but
- 14:54those same issues and not enough nurse and doubts will follow you
- 14:59if you can't kind of work some of those things out.
- 15:02So like I said before, people try to solve it the for these
- 15:05things, by doing more, gaining more experience.
- 15:07But I want to offer you guys again.
- 15:08It's 100% what you think about yourself going into the
- 15:11interviews, they focus on who you are and I really would offer
- 15:15for you guys to focus on that focus on your strengths and what
- 15:18you have to offer based on what you already know.
- 15:21What I tell people in this part of it.
- 15:24It is like, really, what is it about you when people see you on
- 15:27the schedule? That they're like, oh I really
- 15:30am excited. They're working today.
- 15:32These are the things that we want to bring to the interview
- 15:34because if they sit you down at the interview table, your
- 15:36experience is already enough. They just want to know about the
- 15:39team player you are, and why people want to work with you,
- 15:42and I'm going to really help you with that.
- 15:43Portion of it for the panel interviews as well.
- 15:46There's for the things that I really teach that companies are
- 15:48looking for, one is your critical thinking skills.
- 15:52They're going to look at this through your case scenarios and
- 15:55we're going to talk about that. Just like how do you critically
- 15:57think? The second one is that you
- 15:59always get what you need for your patient?
- 16:01How do you go about going to get the orders or the things that
- 16:05you need? Even if maybe the physician
- 16:07tells, you know, the third one is creating rapport with
- 16:10patients in your family's. How good are you at this?
- 16:13This is so important in flight because sometimes we have 10
- 16:16minutes or less to create that quick amount of trust with them.
- 16:19And most of you guys are really good at that.
- 16:20So we're going to highlight that and Fourth one is a team player.
- 16:23You are like I said, why do people want to work with you?
- 16:27Why? When they see you on the
- 16:28schedule, are they excited to be there with you that day?
- 16:32Those are the things we're going to bring out and highlight in
- 16:34your interview. These are the things that I
- 16:39teach you and these are kind of the things that I coach together
- 16:41and I'll teach you the mindset, everything you need to know for
- 16:45the interview prep that, navigating the applications, the
- 16:47panel interview prep and the clinical scenario prep is a big
- 16:51thing. I see my nurses really
- 16:52Struggling this because we're used to ACLS and Pals where we
- 16:55have a mannequin. But this is really an
- 16:57opportunity where you have to be talking about the scenario and
- 17:01talking about everything that you're assessing and
- 17:03interventions that you're doing and you leading the
- 17:05conversation. It is pretty simple and I just
- 17:09don't think that a lot of nurses had the opportunity to practice
- 17:11before an interview. So this is where I see a lot of
- 17:14them kind of stumble and fail going into it without the
- 17:17practice of it. Like I said again, I'm also
- 17:20going to help my ear nurses with oxygenation Ventilation the
- 17:23basics of what they need to know going into it.
- 17:25And then the ICU nurses, just talk about the pre hospitals and
- 17:27traumas that they might see the basics that they need to go know
- 17:30going into the interviews and for the case scenarios, but the
- 17:34solution to getting hired is your thoughts again.
- 17:37And I want to tell you guys a story, I had a client who she
- 17:45actually did multiple interviews, but on her very last
- 17:48interview, she had this thought going into it that I just want
- 17:52to Fly. I'll do whatever it takes to
- 17:54just get there and I just want to fly and I know some of you
- 17:57guys think that as well, and she thought that the whole
- 18:01interview. She of course, never said that,
- 18:03but she just like presented herself and was just so excited
- 18:05to be there. And she found out.
- 18:08She was up against a lot of different applicants but at the
- 18:11end she was offered the position and she asked the manager after
- 18:15she got hired like what was it that you know, with my lack of
- 18:20experience because she had just met the three As with my lack of
- 18:23experience, what is it that you liked about me?
- 18:26And she's, and the manager said, I just like, had this feeling
- 18:29that you just wanted to fly and it was just such a confirmation
- 18:34that the thoughts that you're thinking are the what they're
- 18:38thinking, interviewing you. And I just thought that was so
- 18:42amazing for her. And now she's been flying for
- 18:45over six months and on her own and doing really well in it.
- 18:48So I want just want to say it again.
- 18:50I know you guys are thinking about the, how, how do You get
- 18:52there and I just want you guys to start focusing on who you
- 18:55have to be to get there and the mindset.
- 18:57You have to be to get there, no matter where you are in the
- 18:59journey. If your clothes, or if you're
- 19:02just starting nursing school or if you're in nursing school,
- 19:04like who do you have to be, what kind of team player do you want
- 19:06to be? What kind of clinician do you
- 19:07want to be? Those are the things that they
- 19:09really want to know about. I want to tell you guys one more
- 19:12story before. We just start coaching our, I
- 19:15open it up to questions. I wanted to tell you guys about
- 19:18this car accident that I was involved in and we flew into I
- 19:23had been flying about two years and we had we had the
- 19:27opportunity to be so close to a level one Trauma Center.
- 19:29In fact, it's only five minutes from our base and so because of
- 19:33that, a lot of the traumas were just taken directly from the ALS
- 19:36units to the trauma center. But this particular case, you
- 19:41know, it was in the middle of the night.
- 19:42Of course, it's like 3 a.m. in the morning and I get alerted to
- 19:46it and I see that it's about six minutes away.
- 19:49And I'm like, oh, we're going to get cancelled because the ALS
- 19:51units going to pick it up and It in, but we go up in the air and
- 19:56we get overseeing and I'm like, we're not going to be canceled
- 19:59and I know in my mind like this is going to be a really bad
- 20:02trauma since they didn't cancel us.
- 20:05And so we land, we see the seen the cars, just like completely
- 20:10wrapped. I opened the back of the
- 20:13ambulance doors and the paramedic tells me that there
- 20:17was five people in the car, two females already done on arrival.
- 20:22And Two other children already that were already dead as well.
- 20:25And then we had a, she looked to be about 3 or 4 years old and
- 20:30the back of the unit and lifeless.
- 20:33And I told my partner, let's go. So we kind of did everything
- 20:37that we needed to do at that time.
- 20:40We started IVs, we started fluid, we started blood started,
- 20:43everything that we kind of needed to do.
- 20:45And then we knew that we needed to scoop her up and get her
- 20:48going. So, I put her in the helicopter
- 20:50and in that time, I thought To myself, we got six minutes to
- 20:54make this happen. We got six minutes to take her
- 20:57from the scene, and fly her to the trauma center and bring her
- 21:00back, and she wasn't coding it. But she just looked pretty
- 21:04lifeless and really needed our help.
- 21:05So, at that moment, we started our SI drugs, we intubated her,
- 21:09we needed her chest, we did all of these things kept the fluid
- 21:12and the blood going. And then I just remember at that
- 21:15moment, right? Before we landed at the hospital
- 21:18on the pad. I remember thinking one how did
- 21:22Do all of these things in this amount of time and my other
- 21:26thought was this is where I'm supposed to be.
- 21:29This is what I'm meant to be doing and I know that all of you
- 21:33guys wherever you are in, your journey have had that thought
- 21:37one time or another. In one case or patient or a call
- 21:42that you've ran and I want to just offer for you guys to hold
- 21:45on to that because if you believe that flight is where
- 21:49you're supposed to be, then I just want to offer for you.
- 21:52Guys to go and get it and do whatever it takes to get there.
- 21:55I want to offer for you guys. To hold onto your why, like, why
- 21:59do you want this so bad? Why does this mean so much to
- 22:01you? Because I hold on to that call a
- 22:04lot, especially in the times where I felt nervous or I had
- 22:09doubt. I held onto that thought, like,
- 22:11this is what I'm meant to be doing.
- 22:12This is what I'm supposed to do. And my job now is to help as
- 22:16many people realize that who want that as well.
- 22:19And so, I just want to offer you that thought this job is meant
- 22:24for me. We do heroic things in our job
- 22:27that some people think are not humanly possible just like I did
- 22:31that one night with that kid and what would you do?
- 22:35If this, if you believe that this is what you were meant to
- 22:38do. What would you think of all the
- 22:40excuses and obstacles that come up in your mind then?
- 22:44And if you don't believe this job is meant for me, I want to
- 22:46coach you guys on that today or what are the thoughts that are
- 22:50holding you back from believe? That and this is the difference
- 22:54between no offers and multiple offers is the simple thing which
- 22:57is your belief and I teach you that they are not picking you,
- 23:02you are picking them. A lot of people go into the
- 23:05interviews thinking. Well there, I don't know if
- 23:07they're going to pick me but I want to offer you guys.
- 23:09Like you guys are picking them. You're picking like this is the
- 23:12company. I feel I want to work with.
- 23:14This is the culture I want to be in.
- 23:15This is the team I want to be in and start having you guys think
- 23:18that way. And so I'm going to give you
- 23:19guys an opportunity at the end too.
- 23:21Take this even deeper and what I offer in my coaching and how I
- 23:24get my clients. There individually no matter
- 23:26what stage that they're in, and set out a plan to get there, but
- 23:30I'm going to open up coaching now till about a quarter till
- 23:34with you guys and I'm just going to repeat this.
- 23:36What would you do? If you believe this is what you
- 23:38are meant to do. What would you think of your
- 23:41excuses then? And if you don't believe this
- 23:43job is meant for me, I want to coach you guys on that or any
- 23:47thoughts that are kind of holding you back and believing
- 23:49that. And so I'm going to end at Till
- 23:52and open up to anybody, who has any questions, or wants any
- 23:56coaching on any obstacles that are coming up for them?
- 24:03And don't be afraid to just, like, unmute.
- 24:11And don't be afraid to go first because I know you guys all have
- 24:13questions since you're here today.
- 24:18Or put them in the chat, if you can't come on.
- 24:25I think the biggest obstacle with me is, I started travel
- 24:27nursing about a year ago and so making that bridge back to First
- 24:31a staff position because I don't work in, ER, or in ICU.
- 24:36So making that decision. First of all, which is the best
- 24:39way. Like I lean towards the, ER,
- 24:41that's where I kind of want to be, but taking that initial step
- 24:44back to staff position I think, is one of the biggest hunches
- 24:48for me. But even after that, I mean, I
- 24:50know you've already spoken on it as choosing between I've
- 24:53shadowed and I see you, I've shadowed in the ER, I like the
- 24:55ER better but when it comes to vent management and that kind of
- 24:59thing, that's that's one of the biggest.
- 25:01You know, just the knowledge deficit is very scary and a very
- 25:04real obstacle. Yeah.
- 25:06Okay. Tell me what units you do travel
- 25:09nursing on right now. All right.
- 25:12Now I'm traveling on odds units and somehow I ended up on
- 25:16oncology which is supposed to happen, but it does happen a lot
- 25:19with traveling, but when I stopped I was working.
- 25:23Trauma on like a step down. Yeah, I guess it was more of a
- 25:28step-down unit more than, you know, in between, I see you and
- 25:31just, ER, just that in between. Okay.
- 25:34Well, how long have you been a nurse and have you ever done any
- 25:39eeric besides that? Step down.
- 25:42I've been a nurse right at three years, this month and the only I
- 25:46haven't done any. ER, the only I see you.
- 25:48I did was while I was in nursing school.
- 25:51I worked three different hospitals as a CNA trying to
- 25:53like kind of figure out where I wanted to land and so I did work
- 25:56in ICU as a CNA but I've not worked at in like a functional
- 25:59like are in position. Okay.
- 26:01And your end goal still is quite correct.
- 26:04Yeah. So one thing, I mean and I want
- 26:07to offer you I don't know exactly how it works a trouble.
- 26:10You probably have to have Experience traveling being ER
- 26:13ice you before going and traveling in that, but I have a
- 26:16lot of trouble. Nurses that aren't staff,
- 26:18nurses, that get directly hired in the flight but it will
- 26:22require you to have that. ER I see you time.
- 26:26Sounds like you've made a decision know about what unit
- 26:29you would prefer to go to. Yeah, well the only I see you,
- 26:32you know I have tribe shouted on, was the neuro trauma Unit
- 26:37were at the hospital, I used to work at and when things are
- 26:41Meaning it's great when there's new traumas coming in and
- 26:43everybody converges together and works on that same patient.
- 26:46That's the best part of it. But when it's just like, and I'm
- 26:49not saying that I see you is Easy by, it's like, by any
- 26:51means, but just like the two patients and this titrating
- 26:54drips constantly, and that's kind of like, you know, they're
- 26:57already stabilized but kind of not really.
- 27:00Yeah. Like, I know, it sounds
- 27:01terrible, but it was almost kind of boring to me to Shadow purple
- 27:04flowers where I was when I was in the, ER, and the trauma
- 27:07Bay's, and it's just happening like all the time.
- 27:09There's things happening and so, I think it's like the probably
- 27:12more of an adrenaline thing than anything but yeah exactly.
- 27:17Oh, go ahead. The hospital.
- 27:19I left. It's only level 2.
- 27:21It's in Western North Carolina. I mean, they do cater to like
- 27:24about 17 counties out here. They haven't made it to level on
- 27:26yet so don't really know. Also you know how different it
- 27:30will be going from like a level 2 to a level 1.
- 27:33What is your kind of plan as far as your time period and moving
- 27:37out of travel and then going to an ER position?
- 27:41I was looking to do it towards the end of this year.
- 27:43I'm contracted right now through August.
- 27:45I wanted to finish out like, the rest of the summer looking
- 27:47either towards the end of this year, if not the, beginning of
- 27:49next year. So like this is all way off in
- 27:51the future, but the hospital I left, I still like, that's my
- 27:56home base. It's still, I'm still right down
- 27:58the road, but it's a lot of unfortunately political stuff
- 28:03that go into. It is an HD a facility.
- 28:05And so it's hard to make that transition back to working for a
- 28:07hospital that you left for a reason.
- 28:10I do have options to work at rural hospitals like you said.
- 28:13And I know you know, that could still be a good starting point
- 28:16to work in an ER in a rural hospital.
- 28:18It's just, you know, do I want to go back to the hospital?
- 28:21I came from where I'll probably have more experience in trauma.
- 28:24Yeah. If I can help, you get some
- 28:26clarity and that right now, I would love to do that.
- 28:28It sounds like you don't need clarity as far as like what
- 28:31words you're gonna go to ER I see you.
- 28:33It sounds like you want to go to the ER okay, one thing I want to
- 28:36offer you what the ER is apply to all of them.
- 28:40One even that, you're not sure you want to go back to and then
- 28:43the Royal bed ERS, I think you know, where I tell people an
- 28:47application processes for everything is that sometimes we
- 28:50get our mind set on one place and even for flight companies,
- 28:53we get our mind set on one place.
- 28:55But what I have on my clients do is list out in order like the
- 28:59applications one through whatever, which one's your top
- 29:03choice. But what I usually find with
- 29:05that is if you just fit in the seat and you interview with the
- 29:07companies, you're interviewing them to and you kind of Figure
- 29:11out like What's the culture? What are the things that you
- 29:13really like about them? And often times ninety percent
- 29:16of the time, my clients won't pick their number one, they get
- 29:19in the interview chair and they realize oh I really like my
- 29:22number four and so that's what I have to offer you instead of
- 29:26like making that decision in your mind.
- 29:27Now just apply to all of them and just feel them all out see
- 29:31which one's feel good for you as far as those ERS and then go out
- 29:34there and interview for all of them.
- 29:36And then based on that, just trust yourself that, you know,
- 29:38the best decision for yourself on that.
- 29:40What are your thoughts on that know that that totally makes
- 29:44sense? Like I said, I wish that the
- 29:46place that I want to work for, I wish that it wasn't an obstacle
- 29:51to return to that place because it's where I'm going to get the
- 29:54most education. But just the environment right
- 29:57now with the ER nurses they're everyone's super unhappy and I
- 30:01know that I need to I feel like inside I need to just suck it
- 30:04up. Get past you know all of the
- 30:09Ratio issues and that kind of thing.
- 30:11But I also want to make sure when I make my transition to ER
- 30:13you know I'm doing this for a time period to end to get all
- 30:16the experience, you know. So I don't know.
- 30:20Let me ask you, what is your thought right now?
- 30:22That's preventing you that's like in your way about
- 30:24education. Like higher education.
- 30:28I just mean like learning on the job.
- 30:30Yeah. Because you mentioned like I
- 30:31know I need to go back to the said this hospital because of
- 30:34their education. Like what is your thought that
- 30:36you're having about the education part of it?
- 30:38Yeah, I'm not going to get what I need the ERS.
- 30:41I mean I don't know. It's like this everywhere but
- 30:43especially at this specific Hospital in Asheville are
- 30:47overrun. They're still you know the beds
- 30:48in the hallways and that kind of thing and ratios are still
- 30:51extremely high to where, you know, am I going to learn?
- 30:54Or I'm I going to go in for 12 hours and bust my ass and just
- 30:57Get the bare minimum done or am I going to get the hands on that
- 31:01I need? There's only so many trauma
- 31:02Bay's and you know, I know that I would not start, you know,
- 31:06straight into a trauma Bay because I don't, you know, have
- 31:09the experience for that. But and I just want to be
- 31:11managing to make it from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- 31:14Or am I going to be getting the Hands-On that I actually need to
- 31:17if you had to answer that right now?
- 31:18What would it be? No.
- 31:20Okay. Be getting, I don't think it
- 31:23would be worth. The time and upper and stress.
- 31:27I don't think I would get what I need out of it.
- 31:29I think that you have your answer right there.
- 31:31Yeah. What are your thoughts on that?
- 31:34Are you? Yeah, I think that's always been
- 31:35the answer. It's just been hard in my mind
- 31:38to make it seem reasonable like an actual reasonable answer.
- 31:41A reason not to go back there. Yeah.
- 31:43Okay. So now that you know that now
- 31:46you like answer that for yourself tell me what is your
- 31:50barrier in education and going to these other places like
- 31:53what's the thought that you're having?
- 31:55About their education, just the exposure.
- 31:59Okay. I don't know Hospital.
- 32:01Yeah. Because we're, you know, I'm
- 32:03closer to a rural Hospital than I am my old hospital.
- 32:06That's a level one right now. Yes.
- 32:07But they're so close to each other.
- 32:09Anything trauma-related, it's Gonna Fly.
- 32:13They will fly it right over to Mission or they will put it on
- 32:16the ground and send it right over to the old hospital that I
- 32:19was at, because we're so close to.
- 32:20So, it's almost an advantage to be so close to a level one
- 32:23trauma center, but it's also not an advantage.
- 32:25To be so close because if I go to any of these surrounding
- 32:27hospitals, everything's just going to get pushed over to the
- 32:30actual trauma facility, as it should be.
- 32:32Okay, I'm going to ask you something because this is, this
- 32:35is a common belief for people who work rural hospitals.
- 32:38And what I do here from my rural Hospital.
- 32:40Clients is that they see really bad patients because they're the
- 32:45middle of either going or not going, or they're either,
- 32:49really, really bad or they're fine.
- 32:52Okay. So, but since you told me you
- 32:53did do step down, I see you. You tell me what you learned
- 32:56about the step down. I see you.
- 32:59Step out its it is almost kind of like that middle ground.
- 33:02They're not sick enough that they still need to be an ICU
- 33:05being you know, one to two to three page, you know, patient
- 33:07ratios. But they're not well enough to
- 33:09where they can survive on a medical surgical floor and get
- 33:12the care that they need. There are that middle ground
- 33:15essentially I'm kind of offer that you probably learned a lot
- 33:19about what was really sick and what was not really sick.
- 33:22And when to call that RT or when to move them up to ICU.
- 33:25Yes, this is what that rural hospitals going.
- 33:29I teach you is that in between of, hey, they're not really
- 33:34sick. We can release them or admit
- 33:37them, or they're really, really sick.
- 33:39And we got to get what we need to get them out.
- 33:42But it's going to often times like these step down units, you
- 33:46learn so much, then if you just went straight to ICU because I
- 33:50see you there already thick the step-down unit is where it
- 33:53taught you the in between and what to look for.
- 33:56And that's why rural bed I see or World bed, ER and ICU.
- 34:00Nurses make really good flight nurses because they are able to
- 34:03know what that middle ground looks like, how could that maybe
- 34:06be? So for you on a rural hospital
- 34:08that you're thinking about I think the know everything you're
- 34:12saying makes sense and I think that still that, the hospital
- 34:16the I've been leaning towards. It's still, you know, distance
- 34:18isn't really an issue. I travel that it would still be
- 34:22a good place to since we are so close that I would catch that
- 34:25middle ground and no, you know, be able to learn what's going to
- 34:29go, what's going to stay what my limits are and then kind of go
- 34:33from there. Because I know that, you know,
- 34:34if I take a job somewhere that it's not set in stone, what else
- 34:37is it going to teach you being at that rural hospital do you
- 34:40think if you had to guess, I guess just I mean immediate
- 34:46stabilization just not you know anything like first response on
- 34:51the road if I were on a truck but that second response as soon
- 34:54as you come into the hospital, just the stabilization to get
- 34:57them out. I won't offer you that you could
- 35:00often times be that first response to And that sometimes
- 35:04like even as nurses we know more than the Physicians that that's
- 35:08Moonlighting at that world. ER and so that's going to give
- 35:11you a really big opportunity to step up and like teach you a lot
- 35:14of things otherwise that you want to get at this level to
- 35:17hospital, really like how to get what you need and how to always
- 35:21like critically think for your patient.
- 35:24Yeah no that makes a lot more sense that I see what you're
- 35:26saying that I can learn just as much if not more just maybe in a
- 35:29different different manner by working at a rural Hospital.
- 35:32Instead of, you know, at the center and you make it an
- 35:35opportunity also to be more Hands-On with ventilators
- 35:39because of that. Yeah.
- 35:40Because in bigger hospitals level to level 1, level 3, you
- 35:44often have our teas because you have the Staffing for that,
- 35:47that's just going to do that for you.
- 35:48So you're going to run into that same issue.
- 35:51One thing I want to tell everyone to is like the number
- 35:53one thing that I would help people with that would precept
- 35:56people with after they got hired into flight was still
- 35:59ventilators in advance human dynamics, so ventilators no
- 36:02matter. You are and how many times
- 36:04you've touched them and messed with them, that is still one
- 36:06thing that people still need help with.
- 36:08So it's really like you are going to get that experience and
- 36:12in that rural hospital and just really thinking about what kind
- 36:15of experience that's going to give you, what kind of nurse
- 36:18that's really going to make you as far as.
- 36:20ER, you know, that's super helpful when you put it like
- 36:24that. I think a lot of the barriers
- 36:26are right here. Yeah.
- 36:28So it's nice. Yeah.
- 36:29I kind of gave that put out in the open.
- 36:31Sometimes I need it broken down and that makes It's a lot more
- 36:33sense. Yeah, and I want to also offer
- 36:35you if this is something that, you know, that you really want,
- 36:37I know your contracts up and August, but go out there and
- 36:40seek it. I just had a client who started
- 36:43a new travel, nursing contract, and she applied for companies.
- 36:46And they liked her so much. They waited six months to on
- 36:49board her. So, you know, whatever your
- 36:53brain is telling you, like, I need to start and stop at a
- 36:55certain time. Like, don't let circumstances
- 36:57getting your way, try to think outside of the box and think
- 37:00about how you can get there quicker for yourself.
- 37:01That this is something that you Really want, okay.
- 37:06Does that feel complete for you for right now?
- 37:08Yeah, absolutely. Thank you.
- 37:09Okay, you're welcome. Anybody else have any questions
- 37:12or want any coaching? Hi, hi.
- 37:18Hi. My name is hides and Hi there.
- 37:23Yeah, I can hear you guys. Can you hear us perfect?
- 37:26Yes, I can hear you. Yeah, I have my question is more
- 37:30about like the steps or how really to get there?
- 37:34I don't know the process as for what you were saying like the
- 37:40experience or what not. I mean, I don't have a lot of PR
- 37:43experience. I work in ICU since 2017.
- 37:48I work. Yeah, I started from like an
- 37:50intermediate step down here. And it also and then I
- 37:53transferred I see 2017 and then I got into traveling nurse.
- 37:59So I've always wanted to be a flight nurse.
- 38:02I mean, it's been years. Maybe 10 now, huh?
- 38:06One of those things that are like, I don't know.
- 38:09I just it's not like about laziness on how to like, like
- 38:14look for the process, but it's just kind of like getting just
- 38:18shove every time. Like so now I'm like, you know
- 38:21what? This is It's time.
- 38:25So let me ask you. I have you looked up the
- 38:28companies that you are interested in have you looked at
- 38:30the requirements in the hole. No really want to offer for you
- 38:35to start because it's you know it's dependent on a lot of
- 38:38areas. Some do require you to have your
- 38:41EMT or your paramedic licensure as well.
- 38:46So it I would start there and that's what I offer to all.
- 38:49My clients is start with all the companies what I say as far as
- 38:52starting to is in your mind, figure out how far you want to
- 38:56go. So for some people that's two
- 38:58hours for some people, they're willing to drive four hours for
- 39:01some people. They're willing to go to out of
- 39:03states and different states. So think about one how far
- 39:07you're willing to go to take that job.
- 39:09And then to look up all the companies and all the bases in
- 39:12that area whether or not they have an opening or not in those
- 39:16bases, or the for that company, and then research the
- 39:19requirements for those companies start there.
- 39:22R. Okay, because they may be a
- 39:25little bit different based on the County's you're in, or this
- 39:28or the state you're in. And then I would like get
- 39:31yourself organized with either a binder or a folder and list the
- 39:34different companies of the requirements, if they are
- 39:36different. And then also number, which ones
- 39:41are your? First choice is all the way to
- 39:4210. If you have 10 that you're
- 39:43interested in. I tell people treat this like a
- 39:47speed dating game, it's like date.
- 39:49One person to marry them. I mean I think some people do
- 39:53but I did it and we don't want to get ourselves a hooked on one
- 39:59company because if you do that you're going to find, maybe you
- 40:02said in the interview and you don't love that company.
- 40:04What I tell them, treat it like speed dating.
- 40:06We want to date a bunch of different companies and we want
- 40:08to figure out what's the best fit for us?
- 40:10Just like they're figuring out what's the best fit for them?
- 40:13And so, I did offer for you to start there.
- 40:15I think about how far you want to go and then look at the
- 40:17requirements of the companies that you're interested in, Okay?
- 40:21So, So yep. Okay, so just look out for
- 40:24companies and then look at their specific requirements.
- 40:27Yeah because you may find that you already meet those
- 40:30requirements and if you do, I would just start applying for
- 40:33those companies that you that you are interested in even if
- 40:36they don't have any openings reach out to the recruiters or
- 40:40to the HR department and just say you're interested in this
- 40:43space at this place or you're interested in going this far.
- 40:47And then they can sometimes there's ones that are in the
- 40:49making that just aren't Yet. Okay okay.
- 40:56That sounds good. Does that feel complete for you
- 40:58to have any other? Yeah not.
- 41:00Yeah, I just have to it's like I said, you know, it's something
- 41:03that's like okay, what do I need to do?
- 41:05I just look at like on Google like you know, flight nursing
- 41:09openings or you know I would first think about how far you're
- 41:14willing to go for flat and then let me ask you because it might
- 41:18be deeper than us. I'm not sure.
- 41:20But what's kind of stopping you from doing that.
- 41:22Why haven't you done that yet? I just really it's it's always
- 41:27in the back of my mind but it's the taking the first step like I
- 41:32just don't know. Okay.
- 41:34I mean in my head I was like, okay is it just as easy as like
- 41:38looking flight nurses openings on Google or you know, like, you
- 41:44know, it makes sense when you said like look at the
- 41:46requirements because you were talking about, you know,
- 41:48certifications earlier and some of them doesn't need it or it's
- 41:52not required, you know. Yeah.
- 41:55Why do you think that taking the first step is so hard for you to
- 41:58do? What do you think that?
- 42:01Um, I think it's more of like I'm scared of what I'm going to
- 42:05find out and that I will. I will not.
- 42:09Oh crap like they need this certification.
- 42:13Do they need this kind of experience?
- 42:15Oh you know so I feel like that's more of like what if I
- 42:20don't have those and then what? Yeah.
- 42:24Then what? Uh me what if you don't have
- 42:25them well then I'm gonna go get it.
- 42:28Exactly. It's so funny because in our
- 42:31mind like our brains do that right?
- 42:33They work against us and we're like I'm so scared of what I'm
- 42:36going to find out but do you know what's probably you tell me
- 42:39like I'm curious. Is it scary or what you're going
- 42:42to find out or is it scarier to never take that first step.
- 42:46Um I think it's I am more scared of what I'm going to find out
- 42:51and that I am not ready enough or I'm not you know my my
- 42:55experience and what I have under my belt.
- 42:58It's not enough to to get there. And let me tell you let me ask
- 43:02you it this way to like what are you more?
- 43:04Okay with as far as uncomfortable.
- 43:06Because here's the thing either way, you're going to be
- 43:08uncomfortable. You're going to be comfortable
- 43:10thinking about taking the first step or you're going to be
- 43:13uncomfortable. Always thinking.
- 43:15What if Which one, which uncomfortability do you want to
- 43:19move closer to? I think the the what is Yeah.
- 43:26Yeah. So yeah, like the what if you
- 43:32know like or even like, you know, I know it took me already.
- 43:36Like, almost, I don't know how many years of thinking about
- 43:39doing it and then like I said, you know what, if they needed
- 43:43more and then how long is it going to take me to do this, to
- 43:47do that, you know, to meet the requirement.
- 43:50And here's the problem. I think that is really where
- 43:53you're getting stuck and why you keep going to the what if like
- 43:57your brains Gonna keep offering you to be thinking about the one
- 44:00F and being uncomfortable about that is what's stopping you from
- 44:03taking your first step. But here's the difference, is
- 44:06that you're really thinking about the now you're scared of
- 44:08what's going to, you're going to have to do now, but I want to
- 44:11offer all of you guys. You got to start thinking future
- 44:13wise, Yukata, start thinking about the you and that flight
- 44:17Sue, like, when you get your flight suit and you get your
- 44:20name badge, no one else fits in it, no one else can wear it.
- 44:23And that flight suit. And that name, badges already
- 44:26waiting for every one of you guys.
- 44:28Is a different amount of time that it's going to take for you
- 44:31to get there but no one else can take it from you.
- 44:33And so when you're really stuck in the thinking about like what
- 44:36do I gotta do right now, that's what doesn't help you move
- 44:39forward to getting to the Future.
- 44:40You who's wearing it exam? One offer.
- 44:43All you guys like start thinking about the future, you that's
- 44:45there. That's what's going to move.
- 44:47You closer to it and taking just the first step, sometimes we
- 44:51want like as overachievers, we want to solve for every problem
- 44:54that's going to come up, but I want to just offer you guys soul
- 44:57for the First problem, that's coming up for you.
- 44:59And for you, it's just solving for taking the first step.
- 45:03Great. What are your thoughts on all of
- 45:05that? So, that's, that's right.
- 45:07It's just, I mean, actually, for me, this is my first step to
- 45:11this, to the, you know, to the more step that are coming
- 45:14actually just like talking to someone and getting into this
- 45:17meeting, you know. This is actually like because
- 45:20I'm kind of planning. Yeah.
- 45:21You know, like, no. I'll just, you know, I'll do my
- 45:23magic. No.
- 45:24But I need to know. So yeah, this is actually my
- 45:27first step. Yes, I want to offer you,
- 45:29correct? Like tell your brain that you
- 45:31guys, all took that first step by just registering to be here
- 45:34today and getting more information, right?
- 45:37And then trust yourself that, you know what?
- 45:38The next step is to getting to your goal, right?
- 45:43Trust yourself. You know what it is?
- 45:44Maybe it's getting a little bit more help.
- 45:46Maybe it's getting coaching from me, whatever it is for you, like
- 45:50trust yourself that, you know what that is?
- 45:53Right, right? Is that helpful for you?
- 45:56Yes, thank you. Okay, yeah, you're welcome.
- 46:01I have a couple more minutes. I'd like to like, answer any
- 46:03questions or help coach anybody else on anything?
- 46:08Yeah, I have a couple questions. Yeah, sure.
- 46:11So, um, I'm a paramedic I have about three years of experience
- 46:15doing like I work City and then I work up in New Hampshire, I've
- 46:20worked were Rural and then I've I just started working in a
- 46:25hospital. I am interested in doing flight
- 46:29medicine, is it better? So our hospitals pushing us to
- 46:33get our critical care, sir. It's uh huh?
- 46:35It is it better to get your critical care of your flight
- 46:38medic cert before you start applying to flight jobs, I would
- 46:42offer for you to do it simultaneously.
- 46:45Okay, there's if you can go into interview confident and show
- 46:50what you have is a clinician. They're not going to care
- 46:52whether you have it. Not okay, it's not needed and
- 46:57then they're going to want you to get your FPC.
- 46:59Anyway, after you get weird, what are the critical care
- 47:03service that they're looking towards you getting they want to
- 47:07put on a ground Critical Care team so it's any like any
- 47:13Critical Care. Certs okay.
- 47:16Yeah I mean do it simultaneously.
- 47:17It's yeah yeah, hired a few with the three years of experience
- 47:21and now working in ER Like you're going to do that to look
- 47:24really good as an applicant to be brought to the table.
- 47:28Okay? Because it's kind of.
- 47:29So we're new Department of the hospital up until like nine
- 47:33months ago. They on have paramedics working
- 47:36in the ER, so it's been a learning process.
- 47:38Yeah, we started out kind of as text and then, you know, we're
- 47:42running calls at the same time doing transfer.
- 47:45So it's a very new program but they are looking down the road
- 47:50and they want us to do critical care.
- 47:52And I'd like, Do flight at some point.
- 47:54So, yeah, I mean, let me ask you what's kind of stopping you from
- 47:57applying for flight. Now, since you pretty much
- 47:59probably meet all the requirements, um, I think it's
- 48:04the experience peace because I was doing rural.
- 48:10I worked for some agencies that maybe didn't have great
- 48:13reputations in my area. So that's kind of holding me
- 48:16back and I'm wondering how to move past that.
- 48:21Well, here's the thing like Our brain wants to go to evidence,
- 48:24like all the negative evidence for yeah.
- 48:26Latches to that, right? But if it was like, did the
- 48:29opposite for a second? Tell me what you did learn by
- 48:31the experience of, maybe not working for a company with a
- 48:33great reputation. And that rural experience that
- 48:36you've had. What did what do you have?
- 48:38As a clinician that other people aren't going to have as
- 48:41paramedics? I mean, I guess I'm resilient
- 48:46like and I've had to manage some really sick patients for long
- 48:51periods of time with limited resources. you know, and and
- 48:58then I also learned that I'm responsibility responsible for
- 49:03being a good provider like I make the job what it is.
- 49:07So I have to go out and get the education.
- 49:09I have to, you know, work hard. I'm responsible for good patient
- 49:15care when it comes down to it. I'm going to read these back to
- 49:20you and then ask you a question. Okay?
- 49:22Okay. Okay.
- 49:23You told me that this rural experience had you more
- 49:28resilient taught you manage really sick patients with
- 49:31limited resources. You learned that I'm responsible
- 49:34for being the good provider. You have to go out there and get
- 49:37the education you need and that you're responsible for taking
- 49:41care of the patient. Yeah.
- 49:44And I'm responsible for good patient care.
- 49:45You said what do you have to believe about yourself?
- 49:48Elf, that, that's what they're looking for, in the job.
- 49:53Yeah. I mean that's probably what they
- 49:55are looking for in the job. Yeah.
- 49:58So right now like your belief is I don't have enough experience
- 50:01and over here it's like yeah I got the experience I'm going to
- 50:05hire but that's not believable right now and that's it.
- 50:08You don't want to make like a big jump and a big leap in that
- 50:11belief. But what is it that you know
- 50:14about yourself right now? um, I mean, I think that I could
- 50:26I could probably, I don't know, like I think that I would be
- 50:33able to do it as far as, You know, I don't give up easily,
- 50:39that's for sure. Yeah.
- 50:41Do you believe that thought? I don't give up easily.
- 50:44Yeah. What if that's enough?
- 50:47Yeah, it could be enough. What are your thoughts about
- 50:51just practicing that right now. I don't give up.
- 50:54Yeah, like you don't have to go into the interview thinking man
- 50:58I have exactly the experience that I need.
- 51:00I'm going to get this job because most people don't like
- 51:02that's too hard to believe and that's the thing is like if you
- 51:06believe that then you'd already be doing the job.
- 51:08So we just have to practice beliefs that we do know going
- 51:11into it. Yeah and what you do know is I
- 51:14don't give up easily and that could mean a lot of different
- 51:16things for yourself. I guess one barrier is I don't
- 51:20Don't like, I don't have a college degree.
- 51:22I have a paramedic certificate and I'm like, maybe I don't have
- 51:26the strongest academic background.
- 51:28Yeah, but I mean, that's something I can work on, also.
- 51:35Yeah. Let me ask you.
- 51:37What are the requirements in your areas?
- 51:39For a paramedic for flight paramedics?
- 51:41Do they require a college degree?
- 51:44Its preferred. Okay, but I'm also willing to
- 51:47move like I would move to another part of the country.
- 51:50Yes that man, you know, working, you know, in that part of the
- 51:54country for a couple years and then maybe coming back home so
- 51:57I'm not I feel I'm in an area that's pretty competitive, as
- 52:02far as flight medicine goes. Yeah, so I kind of know if I
- 52:06want if I want it. I'm going to have to move
- 52:09elsewhere. Yeah, well we'll work on that
- 52:11pot, too. Because if you believe don't
- 52:13easily give up and you believe that that you could get the job
- 52:17that wouldn't those circumstances wouldn't stand in
- 52:20your way. Way.
- 52:21Yeah. What are your thoughts on that?
- 52:25Yeah. I mean it's all I mean there's
- 52:28no reason for me not to apply. Yeah, I've worked nurses and
- 52:32paramedics that both had degrees and didn't have degrees and none
- 52:35of the meant. Anything about how good of a
- 52:38clinician, they were? Yeah, what are your thoughts
- 52:41about that? No, it's true.
- 52:44I mean, it goes back to you. Make the job what it is?
- 52:47It, you know, if you you care about the job, if you're
- 52:52passionate about it, if you're willing to go the extra mile.
- 52:55Yeah, that's all stuff that you can't really learn in a
- 52:57classroom if I had to choose if I was like on the panel
- 53:01interview team and I had to choose between someone who
- 53:03didn't give up easily and someone who has a college
- 53:05degree, I would always choose the didn't give up easily and
- 53:08that's what they're looking for. Yeah, if they bring you to the
- 53:12interview, See the experience you have is already enough.
- 53:16Yeah and that's what I'm going to.
- 53:18That's what I teach people to is in the interview.
- 53:20They're not they they're going to ask you about your experience
- 53:23but that's not really what they're looking for.
- 53:24What they're really looking at the team player that you are and
- 53:27what you value, and who you already are, and what that is
- 53:30going to be added bringing you to their team.
- 53:33Yep. Something to think about, what
- 53:36are some of your thoughts on that?
- 53:38Yeah, no it's definitely like it definitely gives me A New
- 53:42Perspective, you know? Yeah I would offer for you to
- 53:45start applying, okay, it'll be good even for you to be told.
- 53:50No so you can get get you out of like I'm afraid of being told no
- 53:55like this really good for you to build up that resilience like
- 53:58you did in that other job Oka? Because what would it be?
- 54:02Like if if you didn't care if you were told, no.
- 54:05No. Well, I mean I'm at know now.
- 54:08Yes. You've created a know now,
- 54:12right? Because you have yeah, yeah, I
- 54:15love that for you. All right.
- 54:18Does that feel complete for right now for you?
- 54:20Absolutely. Okay.
- 54:21Thank you. I appreciate it.
- 54:22Welcome and just like, remember that thought?
- 54:25Yeah, I don't give up easily and have that dry youth right now.
- 54:30All right. Okay.
- 54:31All right, thanks. Okay, you're welcome.
- 54:34Thank you guys for bringing all of those things I think.
- 54:36Yeah, everybody's gonna benefit from hearing that and I'm sure
- 54:38you guys did benefit from just hearing people talk about it in
- 54:42these last five minutes. I just want to kind of talk to
- 54:44you guys about my one-on-one and my group that I have going on
- 54:48right now. My one-on-one sessions are for
- 54:50anybody who's wanting to bridge, the gap of kind of where you
- 54:52are, and where you want to get into flight, no matter where you
- 54:55are in the journey. And like I said, like I coach
- 54:59you on gaining more confidence and getting to your goals.
- 55:01I do General life coaching to so that kind of seeps into their as
- 55:04you gain more confidence. Clinically in some of these
- 55:07areas, it's going to give you more confidence in the other
- 55:09areas of your life. And like I said, during the
- 55:12coaching, my coaching really focuses on, like, where you are
- 55:15now and where you want to be, and I'm always going to take you
- 55:17back to the future you and you getting there.
- 55:21And the biggest focus is going to be on the mindset so that you
- 55:24can create big things for yourself with less stress and
- 55:27more confidence and less overwhelmed.
- 55:29So I have that piece for one-on-one for anybody who's in
- 55:33any part of the process, if you want to kind of move forward
- 55:35with that. I do also bring a tutor in who
- 55:38has been flying for a very long time.
- 55:41He's a paramedic and a nurse, and he'll tutor you in any area
- 55:44that you feel. You need a little bit more help,
- 55:4712 leads, EKGs, abg's, whatever it is ventilator management that
- 55:53is included in my one-on-one sessions, as well to bring the
- 55:55tutor in for those different areas separately.
- 55:58I also have a flight prep group that is coming up, it's for
- 56:02paramedics are nurses with at least, one year, ice youõre are
- 56:06Perience. I'm going to teach you
- 56:08everything that you need to know as far as your mindset
- 56:11navigating applications. We talked about navigating
- 56:14applications in the recruiters a little bit today, but a deeper
- 56:16dive in that panel interviews. What they're looking at?
- 56:19How many people are usually on it and kind of questions that
- 56:22they normally asking and how to go about answering those
- 56:25questions. And then my other focus with
- 56:27this group is case. Scenarios really how to navigate
- 56:32going about running through them.
- 56:34And being the one, whose I'm moving them forward and being
- 56:37successful in case scenarios so we're going to talk about that.
- 56:41That is going to be 12 sessions. It's a three-month long program
- 56:45together. You are going to have the
- 56:48support of the group as well with a chat going on.
- 56:51So if anything comes up in between the sessions you can be
- 56:54a part of that group chat together and then of course
- 56:56you're going to get email or text support from me ongoing as
- 56:59well as things are coming up with applications or you have
- 57:01questions that's going to be 60 Minutes weekly every week that
- 57:05we're going to meet. Over Zoom just like this and
- 57:08then the recordings will be available to you as well to go
- 57:11back and re-watch. That is going to go June 8th
- 57:14through September 14th. It's going to be every Thursday
- 57:18from 9 to 10 a.m. Pacific Standard time.
- 57:21And then with those videos to re-watch, if you like to as
- 57:23well, I'm only taking 10 people, I do have a couple of slots
- 57:27already filled, but if you are interested in that, I just want
- 57:32to offer you. Like, what?
- 57:33I can offer you with that group is just that confidence and
- 57:36Stress and less overwhelmed of navigating these companies.
- 57:39And then also some things people aren't thinking about is you
- 57:42could start getting interviews and you could start getting
- 57:45offers and I'm going to help you navigate how to negotiate your
- 57:48offer and also how to step into that role with a little bit of
- 57:51less impostor syndrome. This is not going to be like any
- 57:53other class with homework or boring slides, and it's going to
- 57:57be just like this, you're going to show up every week.
- 57:59We're going to get some coaching and then you're going to have
- 58:01support by me and your peers. Also through that group group,
- 58:03chat for everybody who is on this webinar, Webinar today, if
- 58:07you sign up with my one-on-one or you sign up with my group,
- 58:11you're going to get one free one-on-one session with me to be
- 58:14able to use during any of that time together.
- 58:17So if you do sign up for a console, just put that in the
- 58:19notes that you made the webinar and you'll get that session.
- 58:22I want to just leave you guys with this is your time, you guys
- 58:26know enough you have what it takes and it could be done with
- 58:30less stress and overwhelm. And you belong in this industry
- 58:34thinking about the future. You That flight suit.
- 58:37And that name badge is sitting on the table, it is just waiting
- 58:39for you to grab it. I'm going to put a link.
- 58:42The first link is going to go into the chat right now.
- 58:46This is for my flight prep group.
- 58:48If you do have that one year of, ER, I see you experience.

- 1:00:03coming. Thank you.
- 1:00:08I had a quick question. Yeah.
- 1:00:10So I'm currently still in nursing school and I was going
- 1:00:14to ask you, what is if there's anything that I could do.
- 1:00:17While I'm in school, I have about a year left.
- 1:00:20I graduate in the fall of next year and if there was anything
- 1:00:24that I could do now to get where I want to be in fight nursing.
- 1:00:30Yeah, great, great question. I helped a lot of nurses that
- 1:00:32are currently in nursing school. One thing that I want to offer
- 1:00:35for you to do is really get a Tech job or a student, nurse
- 1:00:40intern job, in an, ER, and ICU. Okay.
- 1:00:43You don't have to have that to get hired in one of those
- 1:00:45departments, right out of graduating nursing school, but
- 1:00:48it does make it easier for you. And those those departments are
- 1:00:52competitive as a new grad to get into, it's not impossible, like
- 1:00:55I said, but it will set you up for kind of learning and getting
- 1:00:59to know the manager and the culture and the people now.
- 1:01:02So I would just look into the hospital's that you're
- 1:01:05interested in working in and apply for some of those
- 1:01:07positions. Okay, what are your thoughts on
- 1:01:10that? No, I think it's great.
- 1:01:14I think it's going to be a little difficult for me right
- 1:01:19now because we have to clinicals and 13 class are our schedules,
- 1:01:24pretty busy. And I only have Mondays and
- 1:01:26Thursdays off. Yeah.
- 1:01:29But I think because we're in med-surg right now.
- 1:01:33So, next term or semester, I think our schedule is going to
- 1:01:38To kind of calm down. So I think I might look into
- 1:01:40doing that. Yeah.
- 1:01:41So and I want to offer you two like this is where people start
- 1:01:45to think when they start thinking about applying for
- 1:01:47these positions is that they're already saying yes, but I want
- 1:01:49to offer for you to just apply and listen here.
- 1:01:52Like if they do offer you something, let them know that
- 1:01:54the managers because most student intern and student Tech
- 1:01:58positions, they will work around your nursing schedule because
- 1:02:01they know that that's the number one thing.
- 1:02:03And so even when I was a student, intern when I was in
- 1:02:05nursing school, they worked with me.
- 1:02:07They said, When you have clinicals and Theory.
- 1:02:09Okay, what day can you work? Oh, you can't work this week.
- 1:02:12That's okay. Just come in next week on the
- 1:02:13day that you can and so that might be advantageous for you to
- 1:02:17just kind of see how much they're willing to work with you
- 1:02:19because most of them want to invest in you because they want
- 1:02:22to hire you after. Okay.
- 1:02:25Yeah. And I think it's pretty
- 1:02:26prominent because I'm in the LA area.
- 1:02:30Yeah. The I've heard a lot of friends
- 1:02:34or classmates or It's I have done that so I think I'm going
- 1:02:40into that. Yeah, definitely do and if you
- 1:02:43want coaching or help on how to navigate those interviews for
- 1:02:48student nurse intern, or for Tech, come get coaching with me
- 1:02:51because that's what I help. My nursing students do is get
- 1:02:54hired into those units. Got it.
- 1:02:56Thank you. You're welcome.
- 1:02:58Anybody else have any questions or want to kind of get something
- 1:03:02on the books? I do.
- 1:03:04So I'm in my journey. I'm a new grad.
- 1:03:07I got just hi. For neuro-icu.
- 1:03:10Yeah, and so actually, I started July 5th orientation but I just,
- 1:03:16I guess trying to soak it all in, listen to everybody's story
- 1:03:19and just how to, you know, what to focus on during my first
- 1:03:24year. I know I mean I've heard EKG ABG
- 1:03:28drips and stuff like that. So that's what I was my what I
- 1:03:31did in clinicals as well. I'm kind of familiar with it but
- 1:03:34also you know, dive deeper in it.
- 1:03:36And then my ultimate goal is to be a Flight nurse so awesome.
- 1:03:40Well, congratulations on getting that job like that is so great,
- 1:03:44you're going to learn so much and it's going to be so
- 1:03:47advantageous for you to have that neuro ICU experience,
- 1:03:51especially for flight. One thing that I offer my
- 1:03:54Critical Care. New grads is to take a journal
- 1:03:57with you and like Journal your patient and what's going on with
- 1:04:01each patient. And then look back on it, like
- 1:04:05what and do an evaluation like the That I coach that are new
- 1:04:08grads. I always like, have them bring
- 1:04:10their shifts back to the calls and we talked about like, what?
- 1:04:14Well, I'm the shift, what didn't go?
- 1:04:16Well, what do you want to do differently?
- 1:04:18And then write that down in your Journal.
- 1:04:19So that when you have that subarachnoid bleed, again,
- 1:04:22you'll be like, okay, this is what we did.
- 1:04:24This is what we didn't do, this is what I can recommend.
- 1:04:28Really, as a new grad, what I want to offer you is to just get
- 1:04:31in there and absorb as much as you can.
- 1:04:33You're going to figure out you're going to see how
- 1:04:35everybody does everything and Just really figure out for you.
- 1:04:39Like, how do you, what do you start collecting evidence of?
- 1:04:42Like, how do you want to be as a neuro ICU nurse and and yeah,
- 1:04:47like come get coaching with me if that's something that you
- 1:04:49want to step into confidently, because you will have like that
- 1:04:52mindset is going to be a barrier For You, especially going in and
- 1:04:57starting over really going from a, from a nursing student to a
- 1:05:02neuro ICU nurse is going to be a big leap.
- 1:05:04It's not impossible, but that's kind of what I can help you with
- 1:05:07as far. Confidence wise and then if
- 1:05:09things come up and you're like, ah, I need some help with a
- 1:05:11DG's. Like that's really where I can
- 1:05:13bring my tutor in and really help you.
- 1:05:15But one thing I want to offer, you as just that journaling
- 1:05:17piece of it, okay? And then just take in as much as
- 1:05:20you can, okay? That's what those, that's what
- 1:05:23those three years are about before, getting in Flight is
- 1:05:26just really figuring out. Like what do I like about
- 1:05:28certain clinicians? What how, how do I want to be as
- 1:05:31a clinician and what are like some things that are really
- 1:05:34really strong on and not focusing too much on the things
- 1:05:37that your Early week on. Okay, does that make sense?
- 1:05:41Or do you have any other questions for me on that?
- 1:05:44No, that makes total sense. Yeah, I mean, I think journaling
- 1:05:47for me, I don't I've never done it in my personal life and I
- 1:05:50think it's very helpful. I mean, I try to write stuff
- 1:05:54down so I don't my brain can relax.
- 1:05:56So at least if I can Journal it and then look back on it.
- 1:05:58I think I'd be great and thank you for that.
- 1:06:01Yeah, yeah. And just like, it can be so
- 1:06:03simple, right? Like, I don't simple my, I don't
- 1:06:06Journal my personal life but as a nice You nurse I did.
- 1:06:08Because I'd be like, okay, I have this septic patient.
- 1:06:11These were this was their lactic acid.
- 1:06:13This was the thing I was looking at these are the drips that I
- 1:06:16started on them and then as a new grad, when I had a septic
- 1:06:20patient, again, I was like, okay, these are the things that
- 1:06:24worked for me. These are the things I should
- 1:06:26kind of anticipate and I'll just help you like mentally go back
- 1:06:29to that. Okay.
- 1:06:31Yeah. Awesome.
- 1:06:33Thank you. You're welcome.
- 1:06:35Any other questions you have for me?
- 1:06:37Um, so like you think the neuro ICU would be okay?
- 1:06:43Like I thought I was kind of hoping more for a general.
- 1:06:46I see you just so I can see a wide range of stuff.
- 1:06:49I mean, I got hired for a level two trauma here in Las Vegas.
- 1:06:52I don't, I don't know where you're from.
- 1:06:56I'm in California in the okay, cuz I found you through Awesome.
- 1:07:05And I think he would well, how's that?
- 1:07:08I got hired on Sunrise and everyone says, if you can make
- 1:07:11it there, you can make it anywhere.
- 1:07:12I feel like it's more maybe more geared towards like med-surg
- 1:07:15because of the ratio but also I'm taking it with, you know,
- 1:07:18hopefully I see you as well. If I can make it there then you
- 1:07:21know I can make it anywhere as a challenge to myself in a sense.
- 1:07:25Yeah. Get what you came for and
- 1:07:27whatever you're learning experiences is like whatever the
- 1:07:30circumstances are you. Going to be able to come out
- 1:07:33with enough experience, just from that alone, to be hired
- 1:07:36into flight. So, just like figure out, like,
- 1:07:39what kind of clinician do you want to be like, what's
- 1:07:41important to you, what things are you really strong at?
- 1:07:44And you're going to learn so much, like just that neuro
- 1:07:46experience is going to teach you a lot.
- 1:07:49They are not expecting. Any flight nurse to have seen
- 1:07:51neuro cardiac Pediatric, and all of those things, what they're
- 1:07:55really looking for is that you're a good critical thinker.
- 1:07:58And that neuro ICU is going to teach you that, okay?
- 1:08:02And then utilize your contacts like if you know Nick reach out
- 1:08:06to him and get a ride along and ask him questions.
- 1:08:10Utilize that piece of it. He's a really good resource for
- 1:08:12people to. I don't know him, I don't know.
- 1:08:15He doesn't even know of me but I just follow him and okay, you
- 1:08:18know? Yeah, he doesn't know of me but
- 1:08:21I mean maybe I'll reach out to him and see you know if he's in
- 1:08:24the area, any advice or something?
- 1:08:26I'll definitely do that. Another question I had before.
- 1:08:32I see you. I went through upon myself to
- 1:08:35take my my pals and then ACLS and obviously BLS.
- 1:08:41Yeah, should I keep up with those are?
- 1:08:42Should I let like now that I'm in the hired by the hospital
- 1:08:45mean? I don't think since I'll be nice
- 1:08:47to you, I don't think though have me do Pals or pay for it.
- 1:08:51But should I personally myself going?
- 1:08:53Have that active for flight nursing when it comes to or what
- 1:08:58are your thoughts on it, like keeping it versus not keeping
- 1:09:01it. Um, I mean if my thoughts is why
- 1:09:05not, I mean if I have the time then why not?
- 1:09:08Yeah, I might, yeah, I guess I guess I could answer my own
- 1:09:12question, I guess. I mean, it can probably even
- 1:09:14serve, you know, at home or something.
- 1:09:17They're definitely like, I don't think it's needed.
- 1:09:21Like, I don't think you have to, but if your thoughts are like,
- 1:09:23why not? Let's just do it.
- 1:09:25I have it already, then I would just offer for you to continue
- 1:09:27on with that because if you do, it'll just be a racer, then you
- 1:09:31won't have to do that. Initial again, right?
- 1:09:34And then ask your manager because even if your job doesn't
- 1:09:38require it, sometimes the hospitals will pay for you to do
- 1:09:41it. They will, of course, bump up
- 1:09:43the people who need it for their requirement first, but you
- 1:09:46could, you might be able to get in at your hospital and take the
- 1:09:48course and then pay for it, right?
- 1:09:51So it's always worth asking instead of you having to pay for
- 1:09:54it separately, okay? And then my last question is
- 1:09:57like, but now that I'm in ICU there, anything that can be
- 1:10:00doing proactively. To gain the extra boost of
- 1:10:06confidence. I mean I'm a new grad so I'm
- 1:10:07like my feet aren't wet yet and I'm like so there anything that
- 1:10:12I can do proactively like certifications or stuff that I
- 1:10:14can like look up to towards the future with in my one year?
- 1:10:18Yeah, yeah. I would offer you to come get
- 1:10:21coaching because my that's gonna be huge.
- 1:10:24Okay. You're going to feel like a lot
- 1:10:26of nervousness a lot of Doubt, a lot of imposter syndrome and I
- 1:10:29would offer for you. If you can like keep up on your
- 1:10:32mindset that all those things are okay.
- 1:10:34And work on your belief on doing will really well in the unit.
- 1:10:38That's what's going to help you be successful.
- 1:10:41You know, of course like our brain wants to go to especially
- 1:10:44nursing student brain. What are all the things I need
- 1:10:46to do to help me be successful, but I want to offer you like
- 1:10:49that's going to be key for you. These are fat.
- 1:10:53So I went off you come get coaching.
- 1:10:54The second thing is just to really take in like this newness
- 1:10:57of this time and really absorb as much as you can.
- 1:11:02The important part, as a new grad is just really learning
- 1:11:05your floor and learning, like what your routine is going to
- 1:11:08look like and learning how to speak up and learning to have
- 1:11:11that confidence. Really focus on that on your
- 1:11:14first year, as you're finishing up.
- 1:11:16Your first year, I would offer for you to start looking at the
- 1:11:19CCRN, okay, and start looking into that and study material for
- 1:11:24that and and practicing for that, okay?
- 1:11:28But even in areas, like where you feel a little bit, Weaker
- 1:11:31where you're like, you have heavy like ICP management and
- 1:11:36you got your vent Rick's and all of that stuff like if you get
- 1:11:39coaching with me we can bring in some of that tutoring to if
- 1:11:43there's any areas but really just like focus on the newness
- 1:11:48of it and just figuring out like the clinician that you want to
- 1:11:51be. It's going to be your routine.
- 1:11:53How you're passing, meds likes you how you're doing around all
- 1:11:56those small, little things that you're going to want to focus on
- 1:11:59first instead of content. Really okay.
- 1:12:03And lastly, I've never worked a night shift, my shift from 7
- 1:12:07p.m. to 7, a.m. any advice on that.
- 1:12:10I mean, I'm kind of worried about it because I'm yeah, you
- 1:12:14know, other than like thing up, you know, celebrating one time
- 1:12:18most I stayed up so like any advice on that because I want to
- 1:12:22be as sharp as I can for my patients.
- 1:12:23And so that's kind of a worry for me.
- 1:12:25Yeah, I want to offer you. It's going to be trial and
- 1:12:27error. Okay.
- 1:12:29Everybody has like kind of a different Routine of working
- 1:12:31night shift. And what works?
- 1:12:32Well for them? So, just like, trust yourself
- 1:12:35that, you know how to prepare for it, even though you've never
- 1:12:37done it, just, like nursing school.
- 1:12:39Like, you never dead nursing school, right?
- 1:12:41But it was telling are to figure out how you were successful at
- 1:12:44it, right? So treat my shirt like that to
- 1:12:47like, okay, did it work for me to sleep 3 hours leading to my
- 1:12:51shift on my first day on? Do I need to sleep eight hours?
- 1:12:53Just like trial at are it and like just be willing to to be
- 1:12:57rough at it at first because if you do that, then you're going
- 1:13:00to get to a That's going to work good for you just like it kind
- 1:13:03of did for nursing school. Yeah okay that's on that.
- 1:13:08Yeah I mean definitely a child whenever I mean I got through
- 1:13:12nursing school if I feel like this is just you know yeah
- 1:13:15shouldn't be too hard you know now that I have free time and
- 1:13:18just focus on this one job that I have.
- 1:13:21Yeah think about like how nursing school was kind of tough
- 1:13:24at the beginning where you're trying to figure out like how to
- 1:13:26make that work in your life and your schedule and everything
- 1:13:29right. But like how How did you get to
- 1:13:31that point where you're like, okay, I got this now.
- 1:13:35Yeah, I mean, for enough for me, there goes to putting my head
- 1:13:40down and, and open your books and, and not really looking at
- 1:13:43at the clocks. Honestly, it's just, I need to
- 1:13:46finish this. And this is what my agenda is
- 1:13:49today. So yeah, nice ship is yeah.
- 1:13:53I mean, oh bleep, for me, I guess just sleep as much as I
- 1:13:56can and then go from there. If I need a little less sleep, a
- 1:13:59little more sleep and I guess adjust accordingly.
- 1:14:02Yeah, and how might you also be able to put your head down and
- 1:14:04not look at the time as far as night shift, I think just being
- 1:14:11busy like I know especially a nice if and then working to 21
- 1:14:17with drifts and stuff I guess for me not sitting down I just
- 1:14:20needed walk around and then get my steps in that way as well.
- 1:14:25Yep, trial those things out. See if those things really work
- 1:14:28for you and then offer for you, if they do like keep doing them
- 1:14:31and adding to that. But and then just like trust
- 1:14:34yourself that you know what's going to work, the best for you
- 1:14:36as far as night shift. Left.
- 1:14:37But allowed to have to allow yourself to fail at it a little
- 1:14:40bit. Yeah.
- 1:14:41Okay. The secret sauce for that is
- 1:14:43different for everyone. Right?
- 1:14:46Okay. Thank you.
- 1:14:47I appreciate that. You're welcome.
- 1:14:49Was that helpful for you? Yeah, definitely.
- 1:14:51Okay. Did you get all your questions
- 1:14:52answered? Yeah.
- 1:14:54Yeah. I did.
- 1:14:54Okay. Perfect.
- 1:14:56All right. Thanks for being on.
- 1:14:58Thank you. And then, are you having any
- 1:15:00more of these? Just so I can attend if my, you
- 1:15:03know, something new comes up or something?
- 1:15:05Yeah. I I don't.
- 1:15:07Very many of them but I'm thinking about doing more.
- 1:15:10I got a great response this time around.
- 1:15:12So if you did put your email which had to for this, you'll
- 1:15:18get emailed out anything else that I have going on, okay.
- 1:15:22And then just look on Instagram because that's where I post most
- 1:15:25of my stuff too. If I have any webinar coming up.
- 1:15:28But I'm thinking about actually working with my tutor and doing
- 1:15:31like a session either on 12 leads or a Bee Gees.
- 1:15:33That's what I get a lot of questions about.
- 1:15:36So I'm thinking about offering being some kind of educational
- 1:15:38piece to it too. Okay.
- 1:15:40Awesome. I'll be on the lookout for that.
- 1:15:42Thank you. You're welcome.
- 1:15:43Thanks for coming today. Alright, thank you.
- 1:15:44Have a good day, you tell. If anything resonated with you
- 1:16:01and you want to work on creating a path for yourself on getting
- 1:16:04to flight no matter where you are in the journey, book a
- 1:16:06consult with me and we can talk about the results that we can
- 1:16:09get to and getting there. A big thing that I help people
- 1:16:11work on is confidence and belief in themselves.
- 1:16:14If we can create that self-confidence and doing
- 1:16:16something that we've never done before, that's how we can get to
- 1:16:19our goals quicker and that's how we can start to see results in
- 1:16:22our life when we start to see those results have confidence.
- 1:16:25It seeps into all these other areas of Our Lives as well, and
- 1:16:28helps us Tour goals even quicker.
