- 0:22Speaker 1: rope hat if you want to get a hat. which
- 0:25Speaker 1: is just a little apartment for your head. Go on there, theovonstore.com.
- 0:29Speaker 1: And if you don't need a hat, don't even worry
- 0:31Speaker 1: about it. And thank you guys so much. Happy holidays. Lord,
- 0:37Speaker 1: I got some things I need to say. Lord, I
- 0:41Speaker 1: got some things I need to say. The studs, man,
- 0:47Speaker 1: everybody saw that beautiful. They had a lesbian lady, and
- 0:49Speaker 1: it was kind of a little chocolatey lesbian out there,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and she was helping people get to heaven. She is
- 0:57Speaker 1: that Willy Wonka. She's that kind of lesbian Willy Wonka.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And she's helping people get to heaven, baby. Praise God.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I loved seeing that. Play it up a little bit
- 1:07Speaker 1: if we can show that. You can't win. Okay, a
- 1:32Speaker 1: truck went by right there. That's nothing, twin.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Dang, bro.
- 1:40Speaker 1: One, two, three, release them. That's what's up, baby. And
- 1:56Speaker 1: that's what's beautiful about the world. That's beautiful. Look at that.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Lesbians helping people get to heaven. That's where we are.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It's a lesbian heaven, baby. That's what it is. A
- 2:07Speaker 1: thug holiday. It's December 2025. And I'm grateful to sit
- 2:13Speaker 1: here with you today and to have a moment of
- 2:16Speaker 1: each other's time. I really am. And yeah, back in
- 2:19Speaker 1: the day, we're lesbians allowed to help people get to heaven.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I would say no. You would see lesbians high-fiving each other.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You would see lesbians. They were untickleable. That was a
- 2:33Speaker 1: thing you could tell if you tickled a woman and
- 2:38Speaker 1: they didn't laugh. But they had just gotten like a fade,
- 2:43Speaker 1: a Boosie fade. Those were kind of giveaways at the time,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but now things are different. Yeah, it just feels like
- 2:51Speaker 1: there's things you want to yell at the head. And
- 2:54Speaker 1: I'll expound on that. I'll get into that a little bit.
- 2:56Speaker 1: We're going to get to some of you guys' calls.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm happy to have this time. And, yeah, I know people,
- 3:05Speaker 1: congratulations to anybody who's coming off like a sober October.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You know, I know there's that. There's No Nut November,
- 3:14Speaker 1: 40 Fart March, if anybody did that this year. Yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 1: which is pretty fun. People don't do it much, but it's,
- 3:25Speaker 1: you know, trying to fart just 40 times in March
- 3:31Speaker 1: and nighttime doesn't count. Nighttime doesn't count. So yeah, that's, uh,
- 3:38Speaker 1: you don't tally those, but, um, what else? There's, yeah,
- 3:42Speaker 1: Movember where you don't shave or whatever for HIV or whatever. There's, um,
- 3:49Speaker 1: what 11 shit June is another one. If you've never
- 3:52Speaker 1: you want to make your own Vietnam, baby, try an
- 3:55Speaker 1: 11 shit June, try an 11 shit June. Um, and
- 4:00Speaker 1: do not try, do not try to do not, this
- 4:03Speaker 1: is not advice. We're just saying, these are things people do.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'm not telling anybody to go do it. You know,
- 4:10Speaker 1: if you do do, uh, an 11 SJ and you, uh,
- 4:16Speaker 1: do do duties in the middle of the night, that counts.
- 4:19Speaker 1: If you're, you know, if you're night shitting or whatever, that,
- 4:23Speaker 1: that counts, those count. Um, but yeah, people are, are
- 4:27Speaker 1: challenging themselves in the world, you know? So it's good
- 4:30Speaker 1: to know that we are still out there challenging ourselves, uh,
- 4:36Speaker 1: as humans, as humans that exist. Um, so congratulations to
- 4:41Speaker 1: anybody that's going through, that's been through any of those
- 4:44Speaker 1: things this year. Um, And you start to wonder like
- 4:49Speaker 1: why does it feel like maybe our country is like
- 4:52Speaker 1: we're losing or we're falling behind or as humans that
- 4:56Speaker 1: we might be overtaken by robots. And then you realize, oh,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I know why because we're doing an 11-shit June. Like
- 5:02Speaker 1: we're doing no nut.
- 5:06Speaker 3: November.
- 5:07Speaker 1: You know, that's what we're focusing on. Or like a 2,000-step timber,
- 5:15Speaker 1: you know. Some people did, I know, 2,000-step timber, and
- 5:18Speaker 1: that's kind of crazy. We only do 2,000 steps in
- 5:20Speaker 1: that month. That's pretty cool. There's different ones out there.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'd love to know more of them. If you know some,
- 5:26Speaker 1: drop those off in the hotline, 985-664-9503. Let me know
- 5:31Speaker 1: some of the challenges that you and your friends have
- 5:34Speaker 1: been putting yourselves through over time. But, yeah, happy to
- 5:39Speaker 1: be alive here still in America. Yeah. One thing that
- 5:43Speaker 1: I learned this year that I thought was interesting or
- 5:46Speaker 1: that I listened about was Ken Burns when he came on.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And he was talking about the Declaration of Independence. And
- 5:58Speaker 1: he was talking about the American Revolution. And he said
- 6:02Speaker 1: that like the Declaration of Independence was– it's just a–
- 6:05Speaker 1: it's like– it's not– it's definitive but only as long
- 6:11Speaker 1: as it's taken care of. It's like it's not guaranteed
- 6:16Speaker 1: throughout time that there's going to be an America or
- 6:20Speaker 1: that these are the laws and the ways that things
- 6:23Speaker 1: are going to be. So yeah, it's like I think
- 6:27Speaker 1: I just always thought that America was guaranteed. That's what
- 6:33Speaker 1: I thought. I thought, oh, well, America, yeah, it's guaranteed, right?
- 6:37Speaker 1: This will always be here. whether we say it's good,
- 6:41Speaker 1: things are good in America or things are bad in America,
- 6:44Speaker 1: that it will always be there. And then you start
- 6:48Speaker 1: to realize, well, that's not the truth. There's nothing that
- 6:52Speaker 1: says America has to be there forever. You know, as
- 6:58Speaker 1: much as it would be hard for us to conceptualize it,
- 7:00Speaker 1: that's that, that America disappearing or being taken over or, um,
- 7:05Speaker 1: renamed basically, uh, like, or having a merger, um, is
- 7:11Speaker 1: far-fetched it's not it's not impossible because it's not a
- 7:14Speaker 1: guaranteed thing right the declaration of independence it's a it's
- 7:18Speaker 1: a hopeful letter to the future it's a um it's
- 7:22Speaker 1: almost like we we look at the declaration of independence
- 7:25Speaker 1: more like a receipt than like a um like a
- 7:27Speaker 1: worksheet that's what i think of or just as america
- 7:31Speaker 1: that way um And I'm not trying to get real highbrow,
- 7:35Speaker 1: like I know that this is how we need to
- 7:38Speaker 1: be or anything like that. I'm kind of thinking of
- 7:41Speaker 1: just how I have taken it for granted, just how
- 7:44Speaker 1: it's like this thing won't always be here unless we
- 7:48Speaker 1: protect it. Now, what gets scary is when the America
- 7:55Speaker 1: that we believe is one way starts to change. And
- 8:00Speaker 1: then you're like, well, what am I protecting? And I
- 8:06Speaker 1: think that's also some of the place where we are
- 8:08Speaker 1: right now. But yeah, I just was like, yeah, I've
- 8:15Speaker 1: always kind of just assumed America would be here, that
- 8:18Speaker 1: it would be this steadfast thing. But that's not the truth. It's,
- 8:21Speaker 1: you know, throughout time, places have changed and they've been
- 8:24Speaker 1: overtaken and they've had different rulers from different places come in.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'm sure there's been a lot of places that have
- 8:32Speaker 1: been sold out from under their feet. So I don't know,
- 8:36Speaker 1: just thinking about that, not trying to get into like
- 8:38Speaker 1: a negative space about it, but just like that having
- 8:43Speaker 1: in America is an active thing. It's not a passive thing.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And that's scary. And then also though, it's exciting because
- 8:55Speaker 1: there is some challenge like, okay, how do I contribute
- 9:00Speaker 1: instead of just.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Assume?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Those are just some stuff I'm thinking about. I've had
- 9:13Speaker 1: a tough time keeping some of my thoughts organized recently.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I'm just doing my best. What else have I been
- 9:27Speaker 1: thinking about? I've been thinking about how much the person
- 9:40Speaker 1: I would like to be and the person that I
- 9:41Speaker 1: am and the distance between those two. And how much
- 9:51Speaker 1: do I, how much do I really, how much do
- 9:58Speaker 1: I really want to be the, best version of myself?
- 10:02Speaker 1: I think I want to, but I guess how much
- 10:03Speaker 1: work do I want to put in? Like here I
- 10:06Speaker 1: am with all this gift of just being alive, right?
- 10:10Speaker 1: Of being alive, of being able to like exist in
- 10:13Speaker 1: the universe. I can smell things. If somebody's cooking muffins,
- 10:17Speaker 1: I can smell it. I can make macaroni. I can
- 10:22Speaker 1: go for a walk. I can look at my neighbor. Yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 1: there's all these little things you can do that are
- 10:29Speaker 1: like make you alive. And then it's like, yeah, sometimes
- 10:34Speaker 1: I just get comfortable. So, yeah, I think I've just
- 10:39Speaker 1: been thinking about how much more– like am I willing
- 10:45Speaker 1: to get more uncomfortable– To see if I can be more.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And just, yeah, to get to know myself more. Yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 1: and then am I afraid of something if I don't
- 11:04Speaker 1: do that? You know, there's practices in just like my
- 11:11Speaker 1: dating life or my time scheduling or my organization life.
- 11:16Speaker 1: All those types of things where I could be doing,
- 11:19Speaker 1: you know, where I could be doing better, you know,
- 11:26Speaker 1: to have just like better sense of integrity with myself.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And yeah, it's like, but sometimes I want to take
- 11:36Speaker 1: the easy way out or I just want to do
- 11:41Speaker 1: what feels good or, yeah. And I'm not being super
- 11:48Speaker 1: hard on myself. I'm just thinking like, I guess how
- 11:51Speaker 1: many times do I want to go in some of
- 11:52Speaker 1: these patterns where I don't get a different outcome? Yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 1: so I guess I'm just thinking about that as the
- 12:05Speaker 1: year ends and we're coming into a new year. And
- 12:10Speaker 1: then like realistically challenging myself.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Cause I don't want to set myself up for just
- 12:16Speaker 1: for failure and then I don't want to be too
- 12:18Speaker 1: hard on myself. Um, so what are some realistic ways
- 12:22Speaker 1: to challenge myself? Um, so yeah, I'm not looking for
- 12:27Speaker 1: any self pity or anything like that. I'm just thinking
- 12:30Speaker 1: out loud. You know, I fell into a weird spot
- 12:33Speaker 1: in this show over the past few years where I
- 12:35Speaker 1: used to just think out loud and then, uh, And
- 12:39Speaker 1: then I started fearing that a lot of it was self-pity.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm just grateful to be thinking out loud.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I'm grateful to have some time to think out loud.
- 12:47Speaker 1: And I'm going to try to meditate more in the
- 12:49Speaker 1: coming month. And that's going to help me have some
- 12:52Speaker 1: more peace of mind. And that will give my brain
- 12:54Speaker 1: a little bit more time to feel relaxed and to
- 13:02Speaker 1: be able to have thoughts and be less reactive sometimes.
- 13:07Speaker 1: and more responsive, but not reactive. So I'm looking forward
- 13:16Speaker 1: to that. Is any of this communication making sense, Trevin, today?
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 13:26Speaker 5: I mean, it even ties back to the Ken Burns episode.
- 13:29Speaker 5: I mean, it's like in the Declaration, it's the pursuit
- 13:32Speaker 5: of happiness. It's a pursuit, you know?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Oh, that's what they say in it, yeah. It's the
- 13:36Speaker 1: pursuit of happiness, right? It's like, yeah, America wasn't guaranteed, right?
- 13:44Speaker 1: And it's the pursuit of happiness. But, yeah, it's something
- 13:47Speaker 1: that it's not guaranteed. It's like it has to continually
- 13:51Speaker 1: be achieved. And in the end, the revolution was by
- 13:55Speaker 1: the people. And it has to be achieved by, like,
- 14:00Speaker 1: it's like never before in America has I felt like that.
- 14:04Speaker 1: we have to be the ones to, uh, pick ourselves up,
- 14:08Speaker 1: pick our neighbors up and our friends up and, um, and,
- 14:16Speaker 1: and do better, uh, by ourselves and by each other
- 14:21Speaker 1: and just, or just continue to do right. Um, yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 1: just continue to do that. This is a doing. Um, so, Yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe I'm seeming crazy, but that's some
- 14:38Speaker 1: stuff that's been on my mind. Do you think anybody
- 14:40Speaker 1: else thinks about that, Trevin? Definitely.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I do every day.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Thanks, man.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for helping me today, dude. I just feel like, yeah,
- 14:49Speaker 1: it's just a lot, man. It's a lot. Yeah, man,
- 14:54Speaker 1: sometimes it's just a lot. And then it's also kind
- 14:58Speaker 1: of scary when you realize, shit, this shit isn't guaranteed.
- 15:04Speaker 1: You're like, you know, we've been walking around kind of
- 15:05Speaker 1: big backing with the American flag in my generation, in
- 15:08Speaker 1: my lifetime. Like, damn, we've been out there big backing,
- 15:12Speaker 1: you know? We had Michael Jordan in there and went
- 15:14Speaker 1: over there and beat the chopsticks off them dogs over there,
- 15:19Speaker 1: you know? Like, in the dream team, you know what
- 15:23Speaker 1: I'm saying? We've had, you know what I'm saying? We've
- 15:24Speaker 1: always been like America. But then you start to realize
- 15:29Speaker 1: that a lot of the sports, oh, that's just, that's just, uh,
- 15:34Speaker 1: That's the fun. That's the comfort food. The truth is
- 15:39Speaker 1: just like, you know, is this going to continue? Is
- 15:45Speaker 1: this still going to be, who's this going to be
- 15:47Speaker 1: owned by? What's this? How is this going to be operated? Anyway,
- 15:50Speaker 1: grateful to be able to think out loud. Thank you
- 15:52Speaker 1: guys for listening to me. Thanks for being a part of, um, uh,
- 15:55Speaker 1: this podcast. We got to be, um, and thanks Trevin.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I appreciate it, man. Um, And congratulations, dude. We got
- 16:04Speaker 1: to be on the podcast charts for Spotify. Uh, so
- 16:08Speaker 1: I want to thank everybody that helped us make the
- 16:10Speaker 1: charts just by paying attention at all or listening or
- 16:13Speaker 1: even looking at a, um, social media thing or, um,
- 16:18Speaker 1: calling in, uh, letting us be a part of your
- 16:21Speaker 1: life and letting us be a part of our lives. Uh, and, um, Yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel sad all of a sudden
- 16:33Speaker 1: for some reason. Trying to think of why a little bit.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Let me think.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I think it feels a little bit scary. That's what
- 16:50Speaker 1: I think it feels like to me. It feels a
- 16:53Speaker 1: little scary. Thinking about what's going to happen and what
- 16:59Speaker 1: could happen. And man, maybe I am getting paranoid. I agree.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Also just got a new tooth, putting my tooth broke
- 17:04Speaker 1: the other day, eating some popcorn on a Southwest flight. Um, but, uh, yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I think I'm feeling like, like just unsure. That's, that's
- 17:16Speaker 1: a lot of it. I think I'm feeling unsure about
- 17:18Speaker 1: what the future looks like. And it used to feel
- 17:20Speaker 1: more certain. And that's kind of spooky. It's kind of
- 17:26Speaker 1: spooky to feel some of that. Um, So anyway, not
- 17:30Speaker 1: trying to be a downer. And I'm wearing this shirt today.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Thank God I wore it. That just made me smile.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And yeah, thank everybody that enjoyed the podcast or paid attention.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And yeah, I can't believe that we did, that people
- 17:51Speaker 1: absorbed so many different episodes. And I'm thankful to Joe
- 17:53Speaker 1: Rogan who helped give me some suggestions over the past
- 17:57Speaker 1: couple of years about podcasting. and just to be able
- 18:03Speaker 1: to operate in a world where we get to talk.
- 18:06Speaker 1: You know, when I was a kid, I never had
- 18:08Speaker 1: a voice. I didn't have a voice for myself. I
- 18:10Speaker 1: didn't have anybody teaching me how to have a voice
- 18:13Speaker 1: or how to speak up for myself. I lived in
- 18:15Speaker 1: a lot of fear and stuff like that. And so
- 18:17Speaker 1: to just be in a place, even if, look, even
- 18:21Speaker 1: if it's just like, damn, this honky is loud. Lord,
- 18:25Speaker 1: I got some things I need to say. I can't
- 18:30Speaker 1: even believe that that was a turn of a venom,
- 18:35Speaker 1: that that was a little, that just making any type
- 18:38Speaker 1: of chart where your voice is involved for one minute
- 18:45Speaker 1: in time. What happens when your health becomes the punchline?

- 22:06Speaker 1: the 11,000th podcast and in two years we'll be out
- 22:09Speaker 1: of business. But, but just, it's just funny, man. I
- 22:13Speaker 1: just cannot even believe that. That is crazy to me.
- 22:19Speaker 1: But yeah, but just thanks for paying attention or not
- 22:23Speaker 1: for paying, just fucking, I don't know. Thanks for fucking
- 22:26Speaker 1: around with this. Thanks for letting us just bother you.
- 22:28Speaker 1: That's what I mean.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I honestly mean that. That's what I mean. Thanks for
- 22:33Speaker 1: letting us bother you a little bit. All right. Let's
- 22:39Speaker 1: get into some calls here. Here we go.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Yep.
- 22:46Speaker 1: And it's a different time now. We need lesbians to
- 22:48Speaker 1: get into heaven, man. And that's the thing. Everybody now,
- 22:51Speaker 1: we all got to pull our weight. We all need
- 22:56Speaker 1: even lesbians. We all need lesbians to get into heaven.
- 23:00Speaker 1: You know, lesbians are helping people get into heaven. So obviously, you.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Know. Hey, Theo.
- 23:11Speaker 4: I just wanted to call.
- 23:12Speaker 8: I wanted to ask you, man. I got a best friend.
- 23:16Speaker 8: He has a problem. He's in love with lesbians. All
- 23:20Speaker 8: of his girls that he falls in love with turn
- 23:23Speaker 8: out to be lesbians. And we need some advice of
- 23:27Speaker 8: how he can break through how he can convert these girls.
- 23:33Speaker 8: I just want to know if you got any advice
- 23:35Speaker 8: on that, brother.
- 23:37Speaker 9: Wow.
- 23:39Speaker 1: How to bring a lesbian back, huh? How to bring
- 23:43Speaker 1: a stud back out of the solar system and get
- 23:47Speaker 1: them right here, boots on the ground. Hmm. I think
- 23:55Speaker 1: your buddy, and I've seen this before, and it's the
- 23:58Speaker 1: only reason I'm saying this, I had a friend, uh,
- 24:04Speaker 1: and I think we could still be friends. You haven't
- 24:05Speaker 1: seen each other in a long time. So, but, um, anyway, he,
- 24:10Speaker 1: he really was, uh, he really was homosexual. He was
- 24:14Speaker 1: homosexual and he, um, but he would try to date, uh,
- 24:20Speaker 1: gay women because he was afraid to just date homosexual men.
- 24:27Speaker 1: So it kind of wasn't cool. It's like, If you
- 24:30Speaker 1: are just trying to get these, because the truth is
- 24:32Speaker 1: he's trying to get these women that are kind of
- 24:34Speaker 1: like men, he's trying to get them to be full men.
- 24:38Speaker 1: You know, and he would try to make them get
- 24:39Speaker 1: jobs with like UPS or whatever, do that kind of
- 24:42Speaker 1: shit to try to get them all the way over there.
- 24:46Speaker 1: You know, but now no matter how many hours you
- 24:48Speaker 1: work for UPS or you work at the post office
- 24:54Speaker 1: or whatever, you ain't going to sprout a wiener. You know,
- 24:58Speaker 1: that shit is just, that's facts. so that was the
- 25:01Speaker 1: kind of shit that he was trying to do and
- 25:03Speaker 1: we didn't realize it at first we're just like damn
- 25:05Speaker 1: he likes these tough women you know he likes these
- 25:08Speaker 1: women like one of his chicks would wear a fucking
- 25:10Speaker 1: neck brace for no reason you know i'm saying that
- 25:14Speaker 1: bitch was a she you know she would just she
- 25:18Speaker 1: looked like a damn pez dispenser over there and she
- 25:21Speaker 1: did drywall you know um But anyway, the truth was
- 25:29Speaker 1: he was trying to convert these women over to men.
- 25:31Speaker 1: So I think your buddy could be homosexual, buddy. So
- 25:34Speaker 1: I would sit your buddy down and I'd see if
- 25:38Speaker 1: he's gay. Is he gay? Is your buddy gay? But
- 25:48Speaker 1: after he's done deciding if he likes men or women,
- 25:51Speaker 1: tell him to fucking get his shit together and help
- 25:52Speaker 1: this country out. That's all I'm telling him. After he's
- 25:56Speaker 1: done deciding. If he likes these. Because a lot of
- 26:00Speaker 1: these lesbian women. They got that long pussy on them.
- 26:03Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying boy. A lot of them.
- 26:07Speaker 1: They'll stand there just at night. Just straining as hard
- 26:10Speaker 1: as they can. Just trying to launch that. Just trying
- 26:14Speaker 1: to launch that clam. Just trying to elongate that sea
- 26:17Speaker 1: lamb baby. You know a lot of them. Just trying
- 26:20Speaker 1: to strain so much. They just sprout a heck.
- 26:23Speaker 3: But.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Who knows? And I think I wish him well out there, brother.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Praise God. Let's hear more. What do you think, Trevin?
- 26:32Speaker 1: Is that fair to say to those guys?
- 26:34Speaker 2: I think definitely if he wants a real challenge, there's
- 26:36Speaker 2: bigger fish to fry.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Yeah. You're trying to convert a lesbian. Don't mess that
- 26:41Speaker 1: lady up like that. Just go either get a straight
- 26:46Speaker 1: woman or get a gay man. But don't sit here
- 26:49Speaker 1: standing on both sides of the fence. You're ruining other
- 26:52Speaker 1: people's shit. You out here, you talking to a girl
- 26:58Speaker 1: with a Boosie fade and a ball cap over there
- 27:00Speaker 1: and a Texas Rangers hat and a wife beater or whatever.
- 27:04Speaker 1: And she's taped her nipples down or whatever. Chill out, man.
- 27:08Speaker 1: She drew hair on her chest between her tits. And
- 27:11Speaker 1: you're trying to say, ooh, let me buy you some
- 27:18Speaker 1: oven mitts or something. Don't do that shit. Get out
- 27:21Speaker 1: there and get what you really want. which is a man.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Get that little Christmas wiener, baby. Get that baby antler.
- 27:27Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? That kink. You out here pretending,
- 27:33Speaker 1: wasting these lesbians' times. Don't waste these lesbians' times because
- 27:36Speaker 1: we need them right now. They're helping us get into heaven.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's all hands on deck, baby. It's blacks versus drones, baby.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Let's go. What else do we have? We got another
- 27:49Speaker 1: call that came in right here.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Yo, Theo Vaughn.
- 27:54Speaker 6: My name is Patrick.
- 27:56Speaker 1: What's up, Patrick? Good to hear from you, brother. Thank
- 27:59Speaker 1: you for calling.
- 28:00Speaker 4: I live in Washington, Illinois.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Oh, you live in Washington, Illinois? Dude, my friend Corey
- 28:07Speaker 1: used to live there. He was in the pipe fitters union, dude.
- 28:10Speaker 1: He might still be in it. I'm not going to
- 28:12Speaker 1: text him. Okay, onward.
- 28:14Speaker 4: I kind of need some advice, bro.
- 28:17Speaker 6: I want to ask this girl for her number, but like,
- 28:20Speaker 6: you know, like, I ain't ever really talked to her
- 28:23Speaker 6: that much. Like, we talked a little bit, but, like,
- 28:25Speaker 6: not that much. And low-key, we got three lunch hours
- 28:30Speaker 6: at our school, and we, I don't know what one
- 28:33Speaker 6: she's switching to next semester after Christmas break. So, like,
- 28:37Speaker 6: can you, like, give me some advice to, like, you know,
- 28:41Speaker 6: get her number before Christmas break?
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, dude, if you're trying to get, I
- 28:47Speaker 1: remember that stuff. Were you trying to get a girl's
- 28:50Speaker 1: number at school? That's hard, bro. God, because the nerves, dude,
- 28:55Speaker 1: my nerves were so high during school, I couldn't even
- 28:58Speaker 1: do anything. Dude, every time I even saw a girl,
- 29:01Speaker 1: I had to go to the office and get ice
- 29:03Speaker 1: on my head. Dude, if I tried to ask a
- 29:06Speaker 1: girl to a dance or whatever, I would just wake
- 29:08Speaker 1: up in the lobby or whatever, covered in ice or whatever,
- 29:11Speaker 1: eight bags of ice. They'd have me just iced out, bro.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I look like damn 2 Chainz out there running a fever, though, dude.
- 29:19Speaker 1: It was just, dude, I did, yeah. If I even, dude,
- 29:23Speaker 1: if I even wrote check yes or no on a
- 29:25Speaker 1: piece of paper, I'd fall out my chair like one
- 29:29Speaker 1: of those little Joe Rogan baby videos, you know? So, dude,
- 29:33Speaker 1: I don't have any advice. Are you kidding, bro? What
- 29:36Speaker 1: are you even talking about, dude? You know, I couldn't
- 29:39Speaker 1: do shit. You haven't heard any of these podcasts, bro?
- 29:41Speaker 1: I got nothing, dog. You think I got advice for you? Dude,
- 29:47Speaker 1: I don't have a woman. You think I can help
- 29:48Speaker 1: you get somebody? And I will say this, though, dude.
- 29:53Speaker 1: There's nothing better than talking to the girl and win
- 29:59Speaker 1: or lose. Because you walk off and you're like, yup.
- 30:06Speaker 1: At least I tried, bro. That's American shit. That's American shit, bro. Dude,
- 30:13Speaker 1: just say, hey, give me half your number. Don't even
- 30:16Speaker 1: put it all on her. Give me half your number.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Because that's even easier. Because here's the thing. If she
- 30:22Speaker 1: wants you to have all of it, she'll make sure
- 30:23Speaker 1: you get the rest of it. Say, hey, give me
- 30:26Speaker 1: half your number. And then give her an envelope or
- 30:30Speaker 1: something with your address on it for the mail. Put
- 30:33Speaker 1: the stamps on it. And say, look, if you want
- 30:35Speaker 1: me to have the other half, send me that bit.
- 30:39Speaker 1: You know, then at least you got some excitement coming.
- 30:41Speaker 1: You got Santa sending you something. Christmas means something right there.
- 30:47Speaker 1: So that's kind of something, dude. But yeah, dude, I
- 30:50Speaker 1: remember I asked some girl to a dance one time.
- 30:52Speaker 1: She said yes. I was high on mushrooms. I will
- 30:55Speaker 1: admit that. But I got so excited right when she
- 30:57Speaker 1: said yes. I ran through this party of children outdoors, ran,
- 31:03Speaker 1: jumped over a chain link fence, cut my hand and
- 31:06Speaker 1: stomach open. Had to go to the emergency room, ambulance, everything. So, yeah, dude,
- 31:11Speaker 1: you got the wrong guy, bro. But I love that, bro. And, yeah, dude,
- 31:18Speaker 1: you get over there and you say, look, I would
- 31:21Speaker 1: love to have one number of your phone number. Just
- 31:25Speaker 1: start there. Don't ask for the whole number, bro. Don't
- 31:28Speaker 1: be greedy, bro. Get one number. See what happened, bro.
- 31:32Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Leave room for God to work.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Praise God, brother. Good luck out there. What do you think, Trevin?
- 31:39Speaker 1: That's fair?
- 31:40Speaker 2: He's got to pursue it, bro. Pursue the happiness.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to pursue. That's true. It's the pursuit
- 31:46Speaker 1: of happiness. It's not guaranteed, bro. That's true. It's the pursuit.
- 31:50Speaker 1: You're right, bro. Yeah, you got to get over there. Dude,
- 31:55Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of what you could do. But
- 31:57Speaker 1: you can't be crazy, dude. Look, if she's not interested,
- 32:00Speaker 1: you can't make somebody interested. But you can just have
- 32:03Speaker 1: a little bit of energy about you. Here we go
- 32:09Speaker 1: right here. And happy holidays to everybody and Merry Christmas.
- 32:12Speaker 1: The hotline is always 985-664-9503. Hey, Theo. My name's Casey.
- 32:25Speaker 1: What's up, Casey? Thanks for calling. I'm drinking a little Celsius.
- 32:28Speaker 10: I'm a fan. I've been listening for a long time.
- 32:31Speaker 10: I'm a little drunk right now, which is the only
- 32:34Speaker 10: reason I called in. Just want to let you know,
- 32:38Speaker 10: I just listened to your episode where you were talking
- 32:41Speaker 10: about garlic bread. It's the best. I love garlic bread so.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Much.
- 32:48Speaker 10: I can't even tell you how much I freaking love
- 32:50Speaker 10: garlic bread. But even more than that.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I love you.
- 32:54Speaker 10: I love garlic bread and I love you. Just want
- 32:58Speaker 10: to let you know you're the best. Keep doing what
- 33:01Speaker 10: you're doing. Don't ever stop. Love you. I love garlic
- 33:07Speaker 10: bread and I love you.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Dang, that girl's Italian, boy. Wow. That garlic bread, that
- 33:20Speaker 1: shit is good, bro. When that shit gets hard at
- 33:22Speaker 1: the edges, bro, and it turns up a little. Because
- 33:25Speaker 1: you start that bit, it's flat, right? That garlic bread, man.
- 33:29Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, man? And you put that in,
- 33:32Speaker 1: at the end it turns up like, like the edges
- 33:36Speaker 1: are trying to get into the middle. That's what's up.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I'm like, damn. Baby girl, it's like that. I'm going
- 33:42Speaker 1: to leave the window open for you. So, but yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 1: that woman's Italian.
- 33:48Speaker 11: All right.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Thank you for calling. And yeah, Thank you for liking
- 33:53Speaker 1: garlic bread. I like it, and I'm glad that I
- 33:55Speaker 1: like it. So, all right, what else we got here?
- 34:02Speaker 11: Hey, Theo, it's Colin. Hey, man, it's December 1st right now. And,
- 34:10Speaker 11: you know, it's supposed to be the holidays where everyone's
- 34:12Speaker 11: all happy and shit. But, man, every year, this time
- 34:15Speaker 11: of year is the worst for me. Like, everyone's supposed
- 34:18Speaker 11: to be happy during Christmas, and I'm just sitting there.
- 34:22Speaker 11: trying to just pretend to be happy but it's tough
- 34:24Speaker 11: I don't know I got my birthday this month too
- 34:29Speaker 11: and like everything is supposed to be good but it's
- 34:32Speaker 11: always just a rough time of year I was curious
- 34:35Speaker 11: if you ever dealt with that or had any advice appreciate.
- 34:38Speaker 1: You yeah man thanks for the call uh Dylan what
- 34:44Speaker 1: was it.
- 34:45Speaker 11: Hey Theo it's Colin.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Colin sorry um yeah dude Dude, there's sometimes when I
- 34:53Speaker 1: get on here to do this podcast where I am
- 34:56Speaker 1: not as happy as I, you know, this is the, like,
- 35:02Speaker 1: this is me, like, kind of, not maximum happiness, but
- 35:05Speaker 1: there's times where I sit down and I think about
- 35:07Speaker 1: stuff and sometimes I want to, like, I don't want
- 35:09Speaker 1: to be happy. You know, I want to either be
- 35:17Speaker 1: more earnest or I want to be more, like share
- 35:20Speaker 1: things that I'm scared of or fear, you know, I
- 35:23Speaker 1: think there's times like that. There's times where I feel
- 35:26Speaker 1: some responsibility, like, oh, I can't, I can't have people
- 35:28Speaker 1: listen in and then they're listening to some guy be sad.
- 35:31Speaker 1: That's shitty. You know, what's even going on then? And not,
- 35:36Speaker 1: not in a heavy way, but yeah, it's like, yeah,
- 35:43Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, sometimes I'm scared. I'm scared about stuff,
- 35:48Speaker 1: you know? I'm scared what, you know, if everything's going
- 35:53Speaker 1: to be okay. That's like a big fear that's always
- 35:55Speaker 1: with me. You know, and I don't even know where
- 35:58Speaker 1: it came from. It's been there my whole life. Is
- 36:00Speaker 1: everything going to be okay? Think about that fear, right?
- 36:04Speaker 1: I'm just thinking about it out loud. I've never really
- 36:06Speaker 1: even thought about it. What an insane fear. I've had
- 36:10Speaker 1: it since I was a kid. Is everything going to
- 36:12Speaker 1: be okay? I've never said it vocally out like this before.
- 36:16Speaker 1: That's an impossible thing for somebody to carry around. That's realistic, right?
- 36:21Speaker 1: Of course, everything isn't going to be okay. But to
- 36:27Speaker 1: think that there's some kid that is like, you know,
- 36:29Speaker 1: that as a kid or as a young man, I
- 36:31Speaker 1: was walking with that all the time. And then it
- 36:33Speaker 1: still sometimes is like, it's like a bead of sweat that,
- 36:38Speaker 1: you know, kind of shows up on the, on the
- 36:44Speaker 1: shower door of my brain sometimes, you know? Yeah, is
- 36:49Speaker 1: everything going to be okay? Fuck no, it's not. Some
- 36:53Speaker 1: things will, some things, but it just, you know, that
- 36:57Speaker 1: weird feeling, you know, that's something that's like, oh, I
- 37:04Speaker 1: have to do something. What do I need to do?
- 37:06Speaker 1: That's always been something that's a thing that's one of
- 37:08Speaker 1: my repetitive things. What do I have to do? You know,
- 37:11Speaker 1: like if people are over them, I was like, it's
- 37:13Speaker 1: too hot. It's too cold. I'm staying like, I can't,
- 37:15Speaker 1: there's no, like, are you hot or cold? 50 seconds later,
- 37:19Speaker 1: I'm like, Hey, I know we've been talking for another
- 37:22Speaker 1: minute or two. Are you getting any hotter or colder?
- 37:24Speaker 1: It's like, I can't, you know, it's tough for me
- 37:29Speaker 1: to let things be. It's tough for me to let
- 37:35Speaker 1: things be. It's tough for me not to take an
- 37:37Speaker 1: action to do something. Cause that's scary. It's scary for me.
- 37:44Speaker 1: If I let things be, then it's out of my control.
- 37:51Speaker 1: And that's scary. And the truth is though, a lot
- 37:56Speaker 1: of it's, so much of it's out of my control anyway.
- 38:00Speaker 1: So much of it's out of my control. Yeah, and
- 38:10Speaker 1: I think it's turning that over that if I can,
- 38:12Speaker 1: if I can And I'm not pestering myself. But if
- 38:17Speaker 1: I could get more comfortable with when that feeling comes
- 38:23Speaker 1: up of like, okay, I need to do something. I
- 38:24Speaker 1: need to say something. I need to ask somebody if
- 38:27Speaker 1: they're hot or cold. If I could be like, you know,
- 38:31Speaker 1: just God's got this. I'm just going to have faith
- 38:34Speaker 1: that everything's okay. I'm just going to have faith that
- 38:39Speaker 1: everything's okay. Yeah, if I could just lean into some
- 38:43Speaker 1: more of those moments of just I don't have to
- 38:46Speaker 1: affect this. Anyway, I'm talking about me, man. Let me
- 38:51Speaker 1: listen to your question again so I can try to
- 38:55Speaker 1: talk about you. And I'm sorry. I'm sitting there talking
- 38:58Speaker 1: about myself.
- 38:59Speaker 4: Jesus.
- 39:00Speaker 11: No. Everyone's supposed to be happy during Christmas, and I'm
- 39:04Speaker 11: just sitting there trying to just pretend to be happy,
- 39:08Speaker 11: but it's tough. I don't know it. I got my
- 39:12Speaker 11: birthday this month too. And like everything is supposed to
- 39:15Speaker 11: be good, but it's always just a rough time of year.
- 39:19Speaker 11: I was curious if you ever dealt with that or
- 39:20Speaker 11: had any advice. Appreciate you.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Um, yeah, I think it's, it's an okay time to
- 39:28Speaker 1: take a nap. First of all, let me say that.
- 39:31Speaker 1: It's an okay time not to fight the wars that
- 39:33Speaker 1: are out there. It's an okay time not to hit
- 39:36Speaker 1: some man or woman who's dressed up like an elf
- 39:39Speaker 1: on a lime scooter or whatever who's been drinking. It's
- 39:42Speaker 1: okay not to hit them with your car. It's an
- 39:45Speaker 1: okay time not to engage in too much of the
- 39:47Speaker 1: crazy stuff. I mean, this is a time of year
- 39:49Speaker 1: when a lot of animals go hibernate. You know, a
- 39:53Speaker 1: lot of animals go hibernate. Even the sun isn't even
- 39:56Speaker 1: out that long. So for us to be like, hey,
- 40:01Speaker 1: it's kind of a lot. It's kind of going against nature.
- 40:05Speaker 1: So I think it's okay to take some time for
- 40:08Speaker 1: yourself and like not feel the overwhelming sense of I
- 40:11Speaker 1: have to do everything. Like earlier today, I was like, oh,
- 40:15Speaker 1: people are probably going to Christmas parties. Nobody's invited me
- 40:17Speaker 1: to any Christmas parties, right? I was thinking of that.
- 40:20Speaker 1: And my mom invited me to a Christmas party at
- 40:22Speaker 1: her house, and my friend Bo invited me to a
- 40:24Speaker 1: Christmas party with his family around Christmas. But I hadn't
- 40:27Speaker 1: gotten invited to anything. Like, you know, I'm home. It's
- 40:30Speaker 1: before Christmas, blah, blah, blah. So– and that's okay. But
- 40:37Speaker 1: I need to just be like, hey, this is a
- 40:38Speaker 1: great time for me to read, to work on– you know,
- 40:42Speaker 1: my step work that I'm going through again, um, to, uh,
- 40:48Speaker 1: to enjoy some time with myself, not, you know, not
- 40:53Speaker 1: to feel that FOMO, not to feel this overwhelming sense
- 40:56Speaker 1: of like, well, let me have a, let me control me,
- 40:59Speaker 1: you know, um, I wonder why I don't feel at
- 41:04Speaker 1: peace very much because I don't let myself be at
- 41:07Speaker 1: peace very much. Um, But for your instance, sorry, I'm
- 41:11Speaker 1: still fucking talking about me, dude. Bro, stop. But I
- 41:18Speaker 1: think there's two sides to this. I was talking to
- 41:20Speaker 1: my friend Chris today, and he was saying he was
- 41:22Speaker 1: feeling kind of down. And I noticed this. If I
- 41:25Speaker 1: do those things, like, I can isolate during the holidays
- 41:27Speaker 1: as well, and that's not good. During Thanksgiving, I kind
- 41:31Speaker 1: of showed up to my family, and I didn't have
- 41:32Speaker 1: the best attitude.
- 41:34Speaker 6: And.
- 41:34Speaker 11: And.
- 41:37Speaker 1: And I knew in my head what was going on.
- 41:41Speaker 1: And there were moments I was able to work through
- 41:43Speaker 1: it and show up and do okay. I think I
- 41:46Speaker 1: wanted to spend some alone time with my mom. I
- 41:48Speaker 1: didn't get that. And so when things weren't going kind
- 41:51Speaker 1: of exactly the way I wanted them, I turn, you know,
- 41:54Speaker 1: this side of me comes out that's, you know what,
- 42:02Speaker 1: I'll cut myself off from people. It'll be like, oh,
- 42:07Speaker 1: things aren't kind of perfect here right now. Then I'm
- 42:09Speaker 1: not going to apply myself to this situation. I'm going
- 42:12Speaker 1: to cut my, like my emotions, my feeling. I'm like,
- 42:15Speaker 1: I'm going to kind of keep everything away from you.
- 42:18Speaker 1: You know, things aren't exactly the way I want them.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I'm going to, I'm going to keep myself from you.
- 42:24Speaker 10: Right.
- 42:24Speaker 1: And really I'm just hurting myself, but also I'm kind
- 42:26Speaker 1: of in, I can be kind of like not helping
- 42:29Speaker 1: the environment around me. Um, But that's been a thing
- 42:35Speaker 1: of mine over the years, I realized. A way that
- 42:43Speaker 1: I'll try to hurt somebody's feelings is I'll try to
- 42:44Speaker 1: keep my love away from them, which is kind of
- 42:50Speaker 1: crazy to say out loud, I think. And I don't
- 42:52Speaker 1: know exactly what I mean by it, but I've noticed
- 42:55Speaker 1: it at times. Like, oh, this isn't kind of the
- 42:59Speaker 1: way I want it, then you're not going to get
- 43:02Speaker 1: any of me. I can kind of know what I'm saying,
- 43:11Speaker 1: but part of me doesn't know exactly what I'm saying.
- 43:13Speaker 1: But does that make any sense, Trevor, you think?
- 43:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like you close off.
- 43:19Speaker 3: You know?
- 43:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll close off. And sometimes I'll only be home
- 43:23Speaker 1: for a certain amount of time or I'll only be
- 43:24Speaker 1: around family a certain amount of time. So there's not
- 43:26Speaker 1: a ton of time for really us to have time together.
- 43:29Speaker 1: And even in those moments, it's like I'll almost shut
- 43:32Speaker 1: down here, you know? Uh, so yeah, I can tend
- 43:36Speaker 1: to kind of get that way, but brother, I think, yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 1: don't expect too much out of the holidays. Try not
- 43:41Speaker 1: to put too much pressure on yourself. Um, but try
- 43:44Speaker 1: to bring some joy to yourself. Go do something that
- 43:46Speaker 1: finds you some joy. Do not isolate too much because
- 43:51Speaker 1: you also can bring joy to other people. You know,
- 43:53Speaker 1: that's the worst part about when I shut down is
- 43:56Speaker 1: what I'm really missing out on. It's not really me.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Like it just like, if I show up in a
- 44:03Speaker 1: good mood, I can help somebody else have a nice time.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Maybe I can play with the baby or I can
- 44:11Speaker 1: see my friend's dog or I can tell my sister
- 44:14Speaker 1: she has a nice shirt or that she looks pretty
- 44:16Speaker 1: or I can do little things. I can sit and
- 44:18Speaker 1: play a game. I can do something. I can talk
- 44:20Speaker 1: to someone else at the family get-together that I don't know.
- 44:22Speaker 1: It's like if I don't shut down, if I don't
- 44:26Speaker 1: get in that selfish way, then I can just be
- 44:30Speaker 1: a part of what is of the best situation. Not
- 44:35Speaker 1: for me, but just what's the best possible outcome? Is
- 44:39Speaker 1: it I just try to show up with a smile
- 44:40Speaker 1: on my face? How can I help? But yeah, sometimes
- 44:47Speaker 1: you have to pretend to be happy, man. Here's the thing.
- 44:50Speaker 1: You pretend to be happy, eventually you will be. That's
- 44:53Speaker 1: the craziest part. You pretend to be happy, eventually you
- 44:57Speaker 1: will be. Yeah, I think.
- 45:01Speaker 1: You know, I think anything, if you do it, you will, like,
- 45:05Speaker 1: actions first. People think you have to, like, think it first.
- 45:09Speaker 4: No.
- 45:12Speaker 1: You can't think yourself into right actions, but you can
- 45:15Speaker 1: act yourself into right thinkings. Can you look that up
- 45:19Speaker 1: for me on Perplexity, please? Who is one of our sponsors?
- 45:24Speaker 1: Thank you, Perplexity, for helping us figure stuff out. Yeah,
- 45:29Speaker 1: many people can act themselves into good thinking because behavior
- 45:32Speaker 1: often reshapes beliefs, emotions, and self-image over time. So yeah,
- 45:37Speaker 1: I think it's like, yeah, you don't have to pretend
- 45:39Speaker 1: that everybody's happy. Maybe you're not the happiest guy. You
- 45:42Speaker 1: don't have to be Santa. You could be one of
- 45:44Speaker 1: his elves that smokes behind the woodshop. You don't have
- 45:46Speaker 1: to be the best guy. You know, what about go
- 45:49Speaker 1: watch Bad Santa? Just do a gateway package into some
- 45:52Speaker 1: sort of holiday vibes. You know, watch miracle on 34th street,
- 45:58Speaker 1: but then watch nightmare on Elm street. You know what
- 46:01Speaker 1: I'm saying? Do both. You can do, you know what
- 46:03Speaker 1: I'm saying? There's a mix of everything out there, but
- 46:06Speaker 1: I do believe that if you show up and you
- 46:10Speaker 1: find a place to show up, that feels kind of
- 46:12Speaker 1: comfortable to you, to your birthday, whoever invites you over
- 46:15Speaker 1: for your birthday, or if somebody calls you, if you
- 46:18Speaker 1: try to show up with the best part to you,
- 46:19Speaker 1: even if you have to pretend that, um, I think
- 46:22Speaker 1: the best part to you, uh, We'll meet those pretendings halfway.
- 46:29Speaker 1: I believe that. I don't know if that makes any sense.
- 46:31Speaker 1: But yeah, I think you can act your way into
- 46:33Speaker 1: feeling better. But you don't have to, dude. Yeah, Christmas
- 46:36Speaker 1: gets on a lot of people's nerves, especially this time
- 46:39Speaker 1: of year. It's hectic. There's so many things to do.
- 46:42Speaker 1: So don't be hard on yourself. Don't over-isolate. It's a balance.
- 46:47Speaker 1: I think everything is. But yeah, I appreciate you calling, dude.
- 46:51Speaker 1: I appreciate you. Because yeah, it's like, fuck, sometimes we
- 46:54Speaker 1: all have to pretend to be happy. But I think
- 46:59Speaker 1: that's a lot of things. You know, I have friends
- 47:02Speaker 1: in marriages that tell me, it's like, dude, every day
- 47:04Speaker 1: you wake up, you don't want to be married. But
- 47:07Speaker 1: on some of those days, you just pretend that you
- 47:10Speaker 1: want to be married, you know? And then you get
- 47:13Speaker 1: to the days where you do want to be. So
- 47:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I know I've just rambled a lot
- 47:16Speaker 1: about me and I didn't help you at all. Not
- 47:18Speaker 1: that I was trying to help you or that. I
- 47:20Speaker 1: don't know shit. Look at me. But fuck, dude. what
- 47:25Speaker 1: are we going to do about America? That's really, that's
- 47:26Speaker 1: a big question, you know? Um, but blessings to you, dude.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Happy holidays. And, uh, yeah, thanks for just being here
- 47:34Speaker 1: and letting me think with the out loud. Love you, brother. Um,
- 47:38Speaker 1: and I'm gonna send you a Christmas, a birthday present.
- 47:41Speaker 1: So I will, uh, reach out and send you a
- 47:43Speaker 1: birthday present. And, um, yeah.
- 47:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:50Speaker 1: And I hope if you don't have, if you don't
- 47:52Speaker 1: join a bunch of other people and feel great there,
- 47:54Speaker 1: that we can find ways to feel great with ourselves,
- 47:56Speaker 1: good enough. You know, that's the even crazier trick. It's
- 48:02Speaker 1: like sometimes I'm using going out to see people and
- 48:04Speaker 1: do things just to get away from myself, which is crazy.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Just to get away from those moments where it's me
- 48:11Speaker 1: and me standing there in the living room of my head.
- 48:19Speaker 1: This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. The holidays are a
- 48:23Speaker 1: time of traditions. Some people have many in their family
- 48:27Speaker 1: and some have none or they're just beginning their own.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Now's the time to reflect on what they mean to
- 48:34Speaker 1: you or to rewrite those traditions and make them your own.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Incorporating therapy into your new or existing traditions can help
- 48:42Speaker 1: ensure you take time for yourself during what can be
- 48:46Speaker 1: a very joyful but sometimes hectic and lonely time of year.
- 48:51Speaker 1: One tradition we have in my family is verbal altercations,
- 48:55Speaker 1: and leaving family events early and crying in our vehicles.
- 49:00Speaker 1: That's something we like to do. What are yours? Well,
- 49:05Speaker 1: BetterHelp can help. BetterHelp therapists work according to a strict
- 49:09Speaker 1: code of conduct and are fully licensed in the U.S.
- 49:13Speaker 1: With over 30,000 therapists, BetterHelp is one of the world's
- 49:16Speaker 1: largest online therapy platforms. Having served over 5 million people globally.
- 49:22Speaker 1: This December, start a new tradition by taking care of you.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Our listeners get 10% off at betterhelp.com slash Theo. That's betterhelp.com
- 49:33Speaker 1: slash T-H-E-O. What's another call? You want to pick one
- 49:38Speaker 1: off here, Trevin, that you like? There's a couple. We
- 49:40Speaker 1: get a list usually of calls here.
- 49:45Speaker 5: What about a follow-up on twins, advice for twins from
- 49:48Speaker 5: the Baby Me episode?
- 49:50Speaker 1: Oh, that's a great call. That's a great call. Good call. Yeah,
- 49:54Speaker 1: that's a great idea because we just had somebody call
- 49:56Speaker 1: in who was having twins, and I don't believe in them.
- 49:59Speaker 1: But this person has some twin advice. Here we go.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Yeah, my name is Michael from Indianapolis. I'm calling in
- 50:07Speaker 3: hopes to respond to Cage. He called in on your
- 50:09Speaker 3: last solo episode about having twins and needing some advice.
- 50:13Speaker 3: And I guess now, you know, this can go to
- 50:16Speaker 3: Cage and Riley now. Congratulations to all y'all, man. Kids
- 50:23Speaker 3: are rough, man. They're the best hell that you could
- 50:25Speaker 3: ever willingly put yourself through.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Wow, the best hell you could willingly put yourself through.
- 50:31Speaker 1: That's a beautiful statement. Let's hear more. Thank you so much.
- 50:35Speaker 3: And I mean that. They're also the most rewarding thing
- 50:39Speaker 3: that you could ever do. And you just gotta... If
- 50:43Speaker 3: I could ever give anybody some advice, man, it is
- 50:45Speaker 3: just that you gotta take care of yourself. The lady
- 50:47Speaker 3: has to take care of herself. You guys gotta take
- 50:50Speaker 3: care of each other. Can't pour from an empty cup,
- 50:52Speaker 3: so if you don't take care of yourself, you can't
- 50:53Speaker 3: take care of her. She don't take care of herself,
- 50:55Speaker 3: she can't take care of you. You gotta take care
- 50:57Speaker 3: of yourselves, you can't take care of each other. In turn,
- 51:00Speaker 3: you can't take care of your kids. But... I am serious.
- 51:03Speaker 3: You guys have to take care of yourselves. That's the
- 51:04Speaker 3: main thing, man. You've got to take some adult time.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Be there, be a dad, be a mom, be active,
- 51:10Speaker 3: be present. But, man, if you've got parents that won't
- 51:14Speaker 3: mind watching the kid overnight one time, take advantage.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Of that, man.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Go party, go make some crazy decisions. As long as
- 51:20Speaker 3: you can go to work Monday at clock in and
- 51:22Speaker 3: be a dad again, then take care of yourselves, man.
- 51:26Speaker 3: That's my biggest advice.
- 51:28Speaker 4: Amen.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. Sometimes we're like, yeah, how much, how
- 51:32Speaker 1: can I do all these things? And I'm, yeah, I
- 51:36Speaker 1: show up, you know, I show up to fix a
- 51:38Speaker 1: car with no tools because I ain't take care of
- 51:41Speaker 1: my own shit. I'm over there pretending, just making a note,
- 51:45Speaker 1: using my hand, just making a wrench noise while I
- 51:48Speaker 1: use it. Take care of yourself first and you can
- 51:52Speaker 1: take care of those twins.
- 51:53Speaker 6: I love that.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Here's another one right here. Let's see what came in.
- 52:03Speaker 6: Hey, Theo.
- 52:04Speaker 4: This is Cody from Florida.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Hey, Cody. Thanks for calling, brother. How are you today?
- 52:12Speaker 4: Onward. And I just heard you're big on the topics
- 52:19Speaker 4: with having a porn addiction and being an alcoholic. I
- 52:24Speaker 4: know you did the 12-step program and Honestly, man, those
- 52:28Speaker 4: two things are the biggest problems.
- 52:31Speaker 10: In my life.
- 52:33Speaker 4: I just had my girlfriend over a year break up
- 52:36Speaker 4: with me because of a porn addiction, which that is
- 52:39Speaker 4: just so embarrassing. I can't even, like, think of myself, like,
- 52:45Speaker 4: as a normal person anymore. I think I feel so embarrassed.
- 52:49Speaker 4: I just, I feel such like a weak man. And
- 52:55Speaker 4: the alcohol problem and that. I want to know what
- 53:01Speaker 4: you did to help yourself with both of those addictions,
- 53:05Speaker 4: mainly the porn addiction, to be honest. And that's just
- 53:11Speaker 4: so embarrassing to say.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Hey, brother, thanks for ringing us up here. And, yeah,
- 53:18Speaker 1: the only things I know that have helped me with
- 53:20Speaker 1: any type of addiction are 12-step recovery programs. I know
- 53:28Speaker 1: some people use different programs or different things. People have
- 53:31Speaker 1: used rehab, detox. I know that some people need those
- 53:34Speaker 1: sorts of things. I haven't used, I've used like some
- 53:40Speaker 1: short-term rehab. I've not had to use long-term rehab or
- 53:45Speaker 1: detox in my life yet. And yeah, those are the
- 53:52Speaker 1: things that I know. There's SLAA meetings, sex and love
- 53:56Speaker 1: addiction online. And you can find and you can just
- 53:59Speaker 1: attend on Zoom. They're great places to start. And local
- 54:02Speaker 1: AA meetings. And I would go to three meetings, three
- 54:05Speaker 1: different ones, until you see what you think about it.
- 54:08Speaker 1: But those programs I know work. There's no lifelong cure.
- 54:13Speaker 1: It's a daily reprieve. And it works if you work it.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I believe those things. And it will get better. It
- 54:26Speaker 1: will get better if you go and work on it.
- 54:32Speaker 1: You know, yeah, nothing changes if nothing changes. We've talked
- 54:37Speaker 1: about that before. And that's the truth. I've thought things
- 54:43Speaker 1: would change in my life if they, I'll just grow
- 54:45Speaker 1: out of it. This will happen or this person, someone
- 54:47Speaker 1: will come along, I'll move somewhere in this. No, it's,
- 54:52Speaker 1: it doesn't, more often than not, none of those things help.
- 54:57Speaker 1: I'm not saying never for me, for me. Um, yeah,
- 55:04Speaker 1: but I'm sorry that you're dealing with that loss, but
- 55:07Speaker 1: also in a way, I'm glad that you are realizing
- 55:09Speaker 1: this and you can get ahold of it now because
- 55:11Speaker 1: there's no time like the present man. And what a
- 55:13Speaker 1: great gift to ourselves to try and take care of
- 55:15Speaker 1: ourselves better. So amen to you, brother. I love you. And, uh, yeah,
- 55:20Speaker 1: thanks for calling and letting us think about that. Um,
- 55:25Speaker 1: Let's do this call right here. It might be time
- 55:27Speaker 1: to get on out of here. And I know this
- 55:31Speaker 1: episode maybe was a little bit heavy. Was this episode
- 55:33Speaker 1: too heavy, Trevin?
- 55:34Speaker 2: I don't think so. We got there.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah. My nervous system is getting a little bit
- 55:41Speaker 1: burnt out. So here we go.
- 55:47Speaker 9: Hi, Theo. I'm calling from Ohio, and I just want
- 55:50Speaker 9: to let you know I have reached one year sober.
- 55:54Speaker 9: It has been the worst ride possible, but I finally
- 55:59Speaker 9: did it. And I'm just calling to let you know,
- 56:04Speaker 9: you have been a huge part of my journey in
- 56:07Speaker 9: every way possible. I remember being just fucked up on
- 56:12Speaker 9: drugs and alcohol watching your show. And now I watch your.
- 56:16Speaker 7: Show sober without fucking drugs and alcohol. And I still
- 56:21Speaker 7: laugh like I used to. It is the best thing ever.
- 56:24Speaker 7: So I just wanted to say thank you. And, um,
- 56:28Speaker 7: do you have any advice for the other people that
- 56:30Speaker 7: are trying to get sober? Um, you know, just spread
- 56:34Speaker 7: the love and keep going. Thank you, Theo. Bye.
- 56:38Speaker 8: Amen.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Congratulations. That's awesome. Thanks so much for sharing that message,
- 56:42Speaker 1: you know? Uh, yeah. And I'm, I feel lucky to
- 56:46Speaker 1: be part of a podcast that, um, That we're able
- 56:50Speaker 1: to even talk about that kind of stuff or that
- 56:53Speaker 1: you're able to call in and share that message. And congratulations.
- 56:56Speaker 1: One year, that's crazy. That's beautiful. And shit, your voice
- 57:02Speaker 1: was so loud in the beginning.
- 57:04Speaker 4: Hi, Theo.
- 57:05Speaker 1: It almost got on my damn nerves. I thought crazy
- 57:07Speaker 1: it was. I'm like, dang, she's doing so good. She's
- 57:12Speaker 1: lit up. Lit up by the Lord and the feelings
- 57:15Speaker 1: of self-worth. And so that's a beautiful, um, that is
- 57:24Speaker 1: beautiful to hear around this time of year and anytime, man,
- 57:28Speaker 1: you hear somebody, uh, feel proud of themselves. That's beautiful.
- 57:33Speaker 1: And I'm glad that this show could just be a
- 57:35Speaker 1: part of something. And that's one of the things that
- 57:36Speaker 1: makes me so lucky. Like, just like, even as being
- 57:39Speaker 1: a part of this show, it's like, what could God
- 57:41Speaker 1: use us to do if we put ourselves in the
- 57:44Speaker 1: best situation? Um, You know, and can I meet God halfway?
- 57:55Speaker 1: And I know we've talked about that a little bit before.
- 57:59Speaker 1: And not that God isn't all the way. I know
- 58:01Speaker 1: he's all the way there. But I'm just saying, like, yeah,
- 58:05Speaker 1: just the beauty of what God can use all of
- 58:07Speaker 1: us for if we make ourselves an available tool, you know,
- 58:13Speaker 1: kind of. But, man, what a time of year to–
- 58:19Speaker 1: I know this was a lot of thinking about me
- 58:21Speaker 1: this episode. I'm sorry about that. Look at that guy
- 58:25Speaker 1: on that shirt, that little rickshaw donkey right there. That
- 58:29Speaker 1: little fucking lesbian school teacher. I love him, baby.
- 58:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we're here, you know? We're here. We're alive. We
- 58:46Speaker 1: got a shot. We got a shot. We can figure
- 58:51Speaker 1: it out. We can't do it alone. And yeah. And
- 58:58Speaker 1: what did I start talking about? What things do we
- 58:59Speaker 1: want to, if I wanted to yell something, if I
- 59:01Speaker 1: wanted to just say something to the heavens, maybe that's it.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Just like, man, what could I be used for? If
