- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:05Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:12Speaker 2: So you're in the tourist bism Okay, so you're in
- 0:16Speaker 2: the tourism business. What there is no tourism bison. Oh
- 0:20Speaker 2: hold on, man, let me do that again. That didn't work.
- 0:24Speaker 2: So you're in the tourism business. What there is no tourism? God,
- 0:29Speaker 2: I can't say it. You're in the tourists. You're in
- 0:33Speaker 2: the tourist business. But hold on, there is no more
- 0:37Speaker 2: tourist bism bism. I can't believe this. For some reason,
- 0:42Speaker 2: I have a block on that one.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's
- 0:49Speaker 1: Bill Handle.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Good mory, everybody. It's a taco Tuesday, February twenty fourth.
- 0:57Speaker 2: As we say hello to one and all amy, good morning.
- 1:01Speaker 2: We'll start with you.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Good morning, Bill.
- 1:04Speaker 2: There you go, by the way. That's uh oh. For
- 1:09Speaker 2: some reason, your hair looks particularly red this morning. I
- 1:11Speaker 2: don't know why.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Same as it is day.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Okay, I just sort of missed it. Now the just
- 1:17Speaker 2: your set, yes, exactly, okay, cono, good morning, good morning, William.
- 1:23Speaker 2: And for some reason, your baseball cap looks particularly like
- 1:25Speaker 2: a baseball cap this morning.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a great one.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I do. Yeah. I think someone has to
- 1:34Speaker 2: mute back there. All right, Will, good morning, good morning, Bill,
- 1:38Speaker 2: All right, there you go. And h Anne, Oh there
- 1:42Speaker 2: she's giving me the love. I was just looking at
- 1:46Speaker 2: the news coming across right now, Amy.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And then there is the Niels Stair. Hey, Neil, good morning. Okay,
- 1:56Speaker 2: this this just broke the million dollar Okay, it's just
- 2:00Speaker 2: being announced that Savannah Guthrie has has said she just
- 2:07Speaker 2: announced a million dollars for a tip in Nancy Guthrie.
- 2:10Speaker 2: This disappearance.
- 2:13Speaker 3: In four weeks now, since Nancy Guthrie disappeared, and they've
- 2:16Speaker 3: had no major breaks in the.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Case, I think, well, I think it's it's it's a
- 2:20Speaker 2: tough call at this point, especially since the ransom demands
- 2:24Speaker 2: disappeared very quickly early on, and there were several different
- 2:29Speaker 2: ransom demands and it's just all gone. So it's a
- 2:33Speaker 2: very strange case as to why she was kidnapped. Maybe
- 2:37Speaker 2: it's because she was a gut three or Samantha Guthrie's
- 2:40Speaker 2: mom and Savannah Guthrie's mom, and assuming that Savannah Guthrie
- 2:48Speaker 2: makes just buckets and buckets of money off the Today Show,
- 2:52Speaker 2: and the assumption is she makes buckets and buckets. And
- 2:56Speaker 2: my guess is she makes buckets and buckets.
- 3:00Speaker 5: But don't like the more money you have, the less
- 3:02Speaker 5: of it's probably liquid.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but then you're going to four weeks to unload it.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I mean it's it's not that hard to unload. If
- 3:11Speaker 2: you will property, you can get mortgages on it. Now
- 3:14Speaker 2: it is four weeks, there's plenty of time. I mean,
- 3:17Speaker 2: you have twenty four hours. Is a little bit different
- 3:19Speaker 2: when that happens. But no, So we'll see if anything
- 3:23Speaker 2: comes up. I mean, it's a million dollars already. Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And in her video message that she's releasing this morning,
- 3:29Speaker 3: in offering that million dollars, she's saying that she realizes
- 3:34Speaker 3: her mother may be gone. Yeah, which is the first
- 3:36Speaker 3: time that we've heard her say that four weeks with
- 3:39Speaker 3: no sign of her.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Is that million dollars on top of the two
- 3:44Speaker 2: hundred thousand that has already been offered? I mean, are
- 3:48Speaker 2: we talking one three two million?
- 3:50Speaker 3: Well, they're saying now that it's a family reward of
- 3:53Speaker 3: a million dollars.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But it was the FBI that offered the one hundred
- 3:57Speaker 2: thousand dollars reward and an anonymous donor, if you will,
- 4:01Speaker 2: anonymous supporter offered double one hundred thousand, so prior to
- 4:07Speaker 2: this million dollars, it was a two hundred thousand dollars reward.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So we'll see. It's yeah, this is not unfortunately, this
- 4:15Speaker 2: is not bode well. And I think it's sinking in.
- 4:17Speaker 2: And I think it's always been there obviously at the
- 4:20Speaker 2: back of the mind. All right, is the Taco Tuesday
- 4:24Speaker 2: tomorrow night State of the Union? No tonight, I'm sorry,
- 4:28Speaker 2: tonight's State of the Union starting at five o'clock correct
- 4:31Speaker 2: a mundo or six o'clock card time, six o'clock our time.
- 4:34Speaker 2: All right, I'm very good at time. We'll certainly right, yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 2: and we'll be talking about that. Thank you for that.
- 4:43Speaker 2: So we'll be I'll be watching obviously with baited breath,
- 4:45Speaker 2: anchovies in my mouth, and I will we'll talk about
- 4:49Speaker 2: that tomorrow morning. For sure.
- 4:51Speaker 5: We have an idea you should probably you know, get
- 4:56Speaker 5: some cushions and some popcorn.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yeah, And he said more about he said it's going
- 5:01Speaker 2: to be a long one when the president, this president
- 5:04Speaker 2: says it's going to be a long one. And he
- 5:07Speaker 2: has a reputation for making short ones long ones. When
- 5:10Speaker 2: he says it's going to be a long win. Be prepared, right,
- 5:14Speaker 2: sit back, enjoy yourself.
- 5:16Speaker 5: But I saw the beginning of the speech come out.
- 5:19Speaker 5: It starts with it was the.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Best of times. Yeah, the time unbelievable. All right, guys,
- 5:25Speaker 2: let's do it. We have plenty of news to cover
- 5:28Speaker 2: and it's time for handle on the news. Let me
- 5:30Speaker 2: put my bagels and locks into the side. Here. I
- 5:34Speaker 2: did a Costco run yesterday, picked up some new locks,
- 5:37Speaker 2: new kind of locks. Oh, we can do that, the
- 5:41Speaker 2: different kinds of smoke salmon the Costco now carries. Okay,
- 5:45Speaker 2: here we go the news lead story. Excuse me for
- 5:51Speaker 2: a loop through? You for a loop. The one thing
- 5:54Speaker 2: you have to do it was quick to it, quick
- 5:58Speaker 2: to it. Okay, let's do that again. Coming up handle
- 6:04Speaker 2: on the news lead story? Does that help? Okay?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Well?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Story about Judge Eileen Cannon in Florida. And this is
- 6:22Speaker 2: the judge that has been so on the side of
- 6:26Speaker 2: Donald Trump that I mean everything has come before her.
- 6:30Speaker 2: She's been pro Trump and she's a Trump appointee and
- 6:33Speaker 2: special counsel Jack Smith final report on the mishandling of
- 6:36Speaker 2: classified records the by Donald Trump an obstruction of justice.
- 6:42Speaker 2: That allegation to it morrow lago, it will not be released.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Not gonna do it, she said. Nope. She threw out
- 6:50Speaker 2: the case against Smith or against the President, and this
- 6:55Speaker 2: is going to be it's a major win. He's got
- 6:59Speaker 2: some judge. I thought he was going to win on
- 7:02Speaker 2: the Supreme Court issue of the terrorists, because he's got
- 7:04Speaker 2: some judges. But at least that didn't happen.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Amy the deputy director ditches his job, Doctor Ralph Abraham
- 7:16Speaker 3: stepping down as the Principal Deputy Director of the US
- 7:19Speaker 3: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He was just sworn
- 7:23Speaker 3: in December fifteenth. The agency says he chose to step
- 7:27Speaker 3: down to address unforeseen family obligations. As the surgeon General
- 7:33Speaker 3: of Louisiana, Abraham and ordered health officials to stop promoting
- 7:37Speaker 3: mass vaccinations.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it turns out that he is allergic to the
- 7:42Speaker 2: truth and he couldn't take it anymore. Okay, political statement,
- 7:49Speaker 2: you know, why not? Here's the problem we're going to
- 7:53Speaker 2: have this morning until Lindsey comes down. I want to
- 7:55Speaker 2: point something out, Mike Clock. We lost the internet last night,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and we also lost electricity for a small period of time.
- 8:03Speaker 2: So my clock is way off and I can't fix it.
- 8:09Speaker 2: She's the only one that handles the clock around she
- 8:10Speaker 2: he's the one that handles the clock. Yeah, redes the clock,
- 8:13Speaker 2: and so I have my I cover that up. I
- 8:16Speaker 2: have my watch sitting there as my clock. So it's
- 8:20Speaker 2: just a small little clock, right. Oh yeah, it's a
- 8:22Speaker 2: small little clock. But it doesn't do very well. It
- 8:25Speaker 2: shows that I'm almost at what thirteen? Do I have that? Right?
- 8:30Speaker 2: So we got to wait till he comes down and handle. Yeah. No,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I've got it. I've got it. It's just it's not
- 8:35Speaker 2: as easy, but I have it all right. Tonight is
- 8:38Speaker 2: the State of the Union speech. We just heard that
- 8:42Speaker 2: the Democrat governor of which state is going to be
- 8:45Speaker 2: giving the opposing view. It's just been reported, and of
- 8:50Speaker 2: course they happened thirty seconds ago when I've already forgotten
- 8:52Speaker 2: the name.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Oh how unusual, Bill, I think it's uh, it's the
- 8:59Speaker 3: new one, new Virginia.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I now I don't know. You know, these are recorded
- 9:04Speaker 2: in advance. It's recorded well before the presidential speech. So
- 9:11Speaker 2: whenever you hear a quote rebuttal, it really isn't about
- 9:14Speaker 2: the specifics is simply the Democratic Party platform. Don't they
- 9:18Speaker 2: just do it live? Because you can't. You can't, so
- 9:23Speaker 2: they just don't. They should it is govern Spamberger, but
- 9:28Speaker 2: they don't. I mean, it's it's too much to write
- 9:31Speaker 2: it out because nobody writes their own speeches, and so
- 9:34Speaker 2: it's it would be so easy, honest to god. They
- 9:36Speaker 2: all they have to do is have the Democratic response
- 9:39Speaker 2: simply saying you've just seen what the president says. Don't
- 9:44Speaker 2: believe a word of it. Thank you very much for listening.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I greatly appreciate it. Okay, more handle on the news,
- 9:52Speaker 2: Amy Neil and b Nick. Reiner was in court on Monday.
- 9:58Speaker 2: He pleaded not guilty here in downtown Los Angeles. Of course,
- 10:02Speaker 2: he is being tried for the killing of his parents,
- 10:07Speaker 2: Hollywood director Rob Reiner, his mother and wife of Rob Reiner,
- 10:13Speaker 2: Michelle Singer Reiner, at the near the end of last year,
- 10:17Speaker 2: in December. So two counts a first degree murder is
- 10:23Speaker 2: what he's being tried for.
- 10:26Speaker 5: He's thirty two years old, and he's got a public defender.
- 10:29Speaker 5: We talked about that yesterday, and it's said that he
- 10:33Speaker 5: has schizophrenia, so obviously I'm assuming that's what they're going
- 10:36Speaker 5: to go after.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Well, they're going to try. They're going to try to
- 10:40Speaker 2: go for not guilty by reason of insanity. And that's
- 10:48Speaker 2: why the plea, it always starts not guilty, always gives
- 10:52Speaker 2: him time to just start dealing with it, look at
- 10:55Speaker 2: the case and get experts together to establish that he
- 10:59Speaker 2: was insane. I don't think he's going to be insane.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I think he has some severe medical issues. But to
- 11:04Speaker 2: reach the point of insanity legally is a very high bar,
- 11:09Speaker 2: very difficult. That has not changed. By the way, the
- 11:12Speaker 2: rule of insanity came in in the eighteen nineties in
- 11:16Speaker 2: the United States, it has not changed. Still the same,
- 11:20Speaker 2: still the same rule.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Hope you have your snickers. It's going to be a while.
- 11:28Speaker 3: President Trump says it's going to be a long speech
- 11:32Speaker 3: when he delivers his State of the Union tonight. He says,
- 11:35Speaker 3: because we have so much to talk about. There is
- 11:38Speaker 3: a lot on the president's plate. Polls show his approval
- 11:41Speaker 3: rating is sliding. Republicans are worried they're going to lose
- 11:44Speaker 3: control of at least one of the houses of Congress
- 11:47Speaker 3: in the elections. The Supreme Court just ruled against the
- 11:50Speaker 3: president's tariff policy, and we could be getting ready to
- 11:55Speaker 3: conduct a military strike against Iran.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of issues. At seven o'clock, I'm
- 11:59Speaker 2: going to go through to him a little bit. And
- 12:01Speaker 2: the Republicans are not happy, and the President doesn't care.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I mean, the President doubles down. I mean, it's just
- 12:08Speaker 2: that simple. Nothing is ever wrong. I'll talk about more
- 12:11Speaker 2: about that at seven o'clock. What a stringe story this is.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Did you hear about the BAFTA Awards you had Michael
- 12:19Speaker 5: B Jordan, Delroy Lindo were on stage and all of
- 12:25Speaker 5: a sudden, the N word is screamed from the audience.
- 12:29Speaker 5: These are two if you're not familiar to African American men,
- 12:32Speaker 5: and this was during the award presentation there. And one
- 12:41Speaker 5: of the films is a documentary called I Swear. It's
- 12:46Speaker 5: about a Scottish turette's syndrome campaigner. His name is John Davidson,
- 12:52Speaker 5: and he was in the audience and shouted the N
- 12:54Speaker 5: word apparently. So now you have BAFTA apologizing when originally
- 12:59Speaker 5: what ended up happening is the host Alan Cummings at
- 13:02Speaker 5: the time addressed the outburst and talked about how you
- 13:07Speaker 5: know Tourett's in this particular case, it's not just Tourett's.
- 13:11Speaker 5: It's actually a subcategory of yeah, the.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Ones, Yes, the famous ones where you you know, utter
- 13:18Speaker 2: those really Yeah, we have a lot of you know,
- 13:21Speaker 2: black folks going yeah, they went nuts. But there's more
- 13:25Speaker 2: to it. I mean, the story is, there's a lot
- 13:27Speaker 2: to this story. I'm going to be doing this at
- 13:30Speaker 2: seven point thirty when I'm going to ask Neil and Dickhead.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I'm going to ask Neil to join us a.
- 13:39Speaker 5: Oh, you know, it could tie I have no idea,
- 13:42Speaker 5: but it could tie into what's the most inappropriate thing
- 13:46Speaker 5: to say in the moment and the mind just doesn't filter, I.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Have That's exactly the case. You have no idea what
- 13:51Speaker 2: you're saying. But I also want to I'm going to
- 13:52Speaker 2: extend that because strange timing. I mean, I know, it
- 13:56Speaker 2: just happens. I mean, he does that all the time.
- 13:58Speaker 2: That's not the point. There's two points of this story
- 14:01Speaker 2: that I'm going to jump on, and that is BAF
- 14:05Speaker 2: to the actual award ceremony and what the BBC did
- 14:09Speaker 2: and didn't do, and autism training for law enforcement. How
- 14:14Speaker 2: that connects. That is an interesting story. That's at seven
- 14:18Speaker 2: point thirty.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Hi ho, hi ho, It's back to work. They go.
- 14:24Speaker 3: The healthcare union representing thirty one thousand healthcare workers and
- 14:29Speaker 3: nurses in that Kaiser Permanente strike, say that there has
- 14:33Speaker 3: been significant movement in the bargaining and workers are going
- 14:37Speaker 3: to return to the job they've been striking for the
- 14:39Speaker 3: last four weeks. Returning to their patients and their livelihoods,
- 14:43Speaker 3: according to the union, is the clearest path to securing
- 14:47Speaker 3: a final agreement. Apparently what got them there is that
- 14:51Speaker 3: the union accepted a pay proposal the company made last
- 14:55Speaker 3: fall for twenty one and a half percent raises across
- 14:58Speaker 3: the board.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Over what period of time do we know? I mean,
- 15:01Speaker 2: twenty one and a half percent raised starting next year
- 15:04Speaker 2: is one thing, but over the course of five years
- 15:06Speaker 2: is something else. But we'll find out as more news
- 15:10Speaker 2: comes out of that. Who caved the most. And it's
- 15:15Speaker 2: obviously a question of sausage making, that is, you don't
- 15:18Speaker 2: want to see what goes behind the scenes, Well you
- 15:20Speaker 2: get it, you get the answer at the end of
- 15:23Speaker 2: that process. Okay, we're gonna hear about this tonight too.
- 15:27Speaker 5: All right, So President Donald Trump, if you remember, got
- 15:31Speaker 5: his hands slapped. Supreme Court struck down most of Trump's
- 15:35Speaker 5: tariff agenda, saying that it was unconstitutionally didn't have the
- 15:39Speaker 5: legal right to do it. President Trump came out and said,
- 15:42Speaker 5: all right, well, these global tariffs that I was going
- 15:45Speaker 5: to do ten percent, I'm gonna do fifteen percent, he said,
- 15:49Speaker 5: over the weekend. And now it's back to ten percent
- 15:53Speaker 5: flat tariff. So I see how long that lasts. And
- 15:57Speaker 5: that could only work for one hundred and fifty days under.
- 16:00Speaker 2: But that's still one hundred days, still six months. So
- 16:04Speaker 2: it's I love these stories. So he is pissed off
- 16:08Speaker 2: of the Supreme Court. He talks about how that s
- 16:11Speaker 2: Supreme Court decision helped him, how he came out on
- 16:14Speaker 2: top when he first came out, this is actually good
- 16:17Speaker 2: for us. Then he turned around and called them a
- 16:19Speaker 2: bunch of lap dogs and sucking up to the Democratic toadies.
- 16:25Speaker 2: And he goes, so the ten percent is gone, I'm
- 16:27Speaker 2: gonna make it fifteen percent. I'll show you. And then
- 16:30Speaker 2: the countries are reeling, they don't know what to do,
- 16:32Speaker 2: and then okay, we'll keep it at ten percent. That
- 16:35Speaker 2: happened all over fifteen minutes. The world in them on
- 16:39Speaker 2: their toes. I guess they are. I mean, it's no,
- 16:43Speaker 2: markets wont stability. That's what markets want, and this is
- 16:48Speaker 2: anything other than stability. It's we'll see tonight about the tariffs.
- 16:53Speaker 2: It's going to be fascinating and see what he says
- 16:55Speaker 2: about the tariffs. I know one thing he says about
- 16:58Speaker 2: the tariffs, and that is that the country, for example, China,
- 17:02Speaker 2: we deal my partner and I deal with China, China,
- 17:05Speaker 2: and we buy steel cookware. We bring in and ported
- 17:11Speaker 2: Chinese cookwaar made out of stainless steel. And as he said,
- 17:15Speaker 2: the President said, China is paying for those tariffs, which
- 17:19Speaker 2: is why last week we wrote a check to Customs
- 17:22Speaker 2: and Border Enforcement because they wanted the tariffs. Wait a minute,
- 17:26Speaker 2: I thought China was writing you the check. No, you are.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Everybody that brings in goods from anywhere in the world
- 17:35Speaker 2: in the United States is writing the check. Wait a minute, No,
- 17:39Speaker 2: it's not. Well, yes it is. You want to see
- 17:41Speaker 2: my canceled check.
- 17:43Speaker 5: All right, Gosh, you can't even get good slave labor anymore.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Right, that's right.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I mean, you know, it's all right, going viral apparently
- 17:51Speaker 3: good for business. An ikea plushy that you've probably seen
- 17:56Speaker 3: if you're on social media at all, that has been
- 17:58Speaker 3: dragged around zoo enclosure in Japan by a baby Macoq
- 18:04Speaker 3: monkey is now selling for hundreds of dollars on eBay
- 18:07Speaker 3: because it is sold out in the stores. Punch is
- 18:11Speaker 3: the abandoned monkey at the Ichikawa Zoo in Japan and
- 18:15Speaker 3: is kind of obsessed with his stuffed orangutan, which zoo
- 18:18Speaker 3: keepers gave him as a way to cope with life
- 18:21Speaker 3: without his mommy. Apparently he relies on it quite a bit,
- 18:24Speaker 3: so Iikia posted a photo of a plush monkey wrapping
- 18:28Speaker 3: its arms around the comfort orangutan, listed as something I
- 18:33Speaker 3: can't pronounce. The company sells it for nineteen ninety nine
- 18:36Speaker 3: and it says we're all Punch is family Now. Well
- 18:39Speaker 3: that worked and it's sold out and now it's going
- 18:41Speaker 3: on eBay for hundreds of dollars.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah, lovely. The good news with this is that Punch
- 18:47Speaker 2: actually is getting involved in the rest of the monkey troop.
- 18:53Speaker 2: At first, he was not back and forth. Colo just
- 18:56Speaker 2: brought me up to speed. It's a it's a saga, right, yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 4: He was rejected by his mom, then accepted by the monkeys,
- 19:05Speaker 4: then bullied by the monkeys. Then he has a bodyguard,
- 19:08Speaker 4: and then yesterday he stood up to the bullies. He
- 19:12Speaker 4: raised up on two legs and raised up to him.
- 19:15Speaker 3: It's a back off man.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, good for him. Then they gave him a knife
- 19:19Speaker 2: to commit suicide. But that's okay, that's horrible.
- 19:23Speaker 5: We're gonna get one of those stuff to Rangutangs and
- 19:25Speaker 5: we're gonna put a one one love I e had
- 19:30Speaker 5: on it and it's going to fill in for Kono
- 19:31Speaker 5: when he takes time off exactly.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Oh. Good news. Out the Winter Olympics.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Milano Cortina the most viewed Winter Olympics since twenty fourteen.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Network averaged there at NBC twenty three point five million viewers.
- 19:49Speaker 5: That's pretty huge throughout the two plus week competition. This
- 19:53Speaker 5: was across all of their platforms there and that's that's
- 19:57Speaker 5: pretty great.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it almost doubled what was the viewership of twenty
- 20:01Speaker 2: twenty two from four years ago, just about double. That
- 20:05Speaker 2: is good. Noise. I was trying to think, what, what
- 20:07Speaker 2: is it? What? What did it?
- 20:09Speaker 5: What motivated people to watch this time? Because I heard
- 20:12Speaker 5: way more buzz.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I have no idea.
- 20:16Speaker 3: They are saying that it could be the time zone. Oh,
- 20:19Speaker 3: because it's just it's nine hours different for us. Six hours.
- 20:23Speaker 2: We had the watch, but we had to wait. If you
- 20:25Speaker 2: were going to do it live, you'd have to watch
- 20:26Speaker 2: at three o'clock in the morning because the events started
- 20:31Speaker 2: that morning time for them, which is middle of the
- 20:34Speaker 2: night for us. So I don't know if that's the case.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Well, but they're saying it's more favorable when they than
- 20:39Speaker 3: when they were held in Russia China.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Camp Mysstic still an issue after all of those campers
- 20:53Speaker 3: are swept away in flooding and killed. The families of
- 20:57Speaker 3: nine of the campers and counselors that were killed are
- 21:01Speaker 3: suing health officials claiming they failed to enforce an evacuation
- 21:04Speaker 3: plan that's required by state law. The lawsuit alleges that
- 21:10Speaker 3: health officials had licensed Camp Mystic, the Christian Girls camp
- 21:14Speaker 3: at the edge of the Guadalupe River, despite the camp
- 21:17Speaker 3: not having an evacuation plan as required by state camp
- 21:21Speaker 3: safety rules, and they even had said that the camp
- 21:25Speaker 3: had no plan to evacuate the riverside cabins where the
- 21:28Speaker 3: girls swept, and this camp's emergency policy instructed campers not
- 21:34Speaker 3: to evacuate during a flood.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Yeah, heads are Hedge is going to roll on this one.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And the big issue is they violated state and camp
- 21:41Speaker 2: safety rules and the Texas Department of State Health Services
- 21:45Speaker 2: went ahead and gave them a license anyway, So yeah,
- 21:50Speaker 2: it's going to cost Texas some money on this, as
- 21:52Speaker 2: it should. Those poor families losing little girls. I mean,
- 21:56Speaker 2: it's just it could have been averted. That's the point.
- 21:58Speaker 2: It's not one of those crazy forces of nature that
- 22:03Speaker 2: come down and take away a family or whatever. This
- 22:05Speaker 2: could have been averted. So after the.
- 22:11Speaker 5: It came down from the President, Donald Trump's emergency tariffs
- 22:16Speaker 5: were not legal from the US Supreme Court. Now everybody's
- 22:19Speaker 5: trying to figure out how to get their money back,
- 22:21Speaker 5: including fed X, who yesterday filed the lawsuit in the
- 22:25Speaker 5: US Court of International Trade seeking a refund for this.
- 22:30Speaker 5: They did not provide the dollar amount there at fed X.
- 22:35Speaker 5: A side note, they delivered the lawsuit to the wrong
- 22:39Speaker 5: place and the box was crushed when it arrived.
- 22:43Speaker 2: That's very funny. I can't no, that's very strong. So
- 22:46Speaker 2: let me get this right. Okay, you've got these businesses,
- 22:50Speaker 2: and incidentally, fed X is only the tip of the Iceberg.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I mean, there are thousands of businesses. Tens of thousands
- 22:56Speaker 2: of businesses have already demanded that the US government to
- 23:02Speaker 2: refund their money because of tariffs. These companies have paid.
- 23:06Speaker 2: But wait a second, they're actually suing for money they
- 23:09Speaker 2: haven't paid because the foreign countries have paid the tariffs,
- 23:14Speaker 2: So how can they sue? Here's a perfect defense the
- 23:18Speaker 2: Trump organization. The administration has you never paid the tariffs.
- 23:22Speaker 2: China paid the tariffs. But wait a minute, here's the
- 23:25Speaker 2: check that I wrote to the government. Not true, absolutely
- 23:30Speaker 2: not true. You did not write that check.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Then China should sue and say they want their money back.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Well they got, Well China got, that's true. Yes, you're right,
- 23:41Speaker 2: that's the lawsuit China. I can't wait for tonight when
- 23:44Speaker 2: he talks about the tariffs. I really can't. And how
- 23:47Speaker 2: prices have never been lower ever we are, It's fantastic.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I mean, I just where do you go with this stuff?
- 23:57Speaker 2: I don't know where you even go with this stuff.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I don't what's the weather like, Amy, mostly Sonny, it's
- 24:05Speaker 2: raining outside. I'm telling you it is raining, and I
- 24:09Speaker 2: don't care if you go outside and tell me it's Sonny,
- 24:12Speaker 2: if I tell you it's raining, it is raining. I know.
- 24:15Speaker 5: I missed the days when presidents would come out and
- 24:18Speaker 5: be honest during.
- 24:20Speaker 2: The like it like it never. Yes, there's just a question.
- 24:24Speaker 2: It's what things are crap. I don't know what I'm doing. Man,
- 24:28Speaker 2: I'm going to a million miles per hour. Actually, president,
- 24:30Speaker 2: actually presidents have said things are crap. It's been a
- 24:33Speaker 2: long Jimmy Carter said that. Ronald Reagan said that he goes,
- 24:37Speaker 2: things are crap and we're going to straighten it out,
- 24:39Speaker 2: and it's going to be it's going to be a
- 24:41Speaker 2: worse things it is now until we turn it around.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Yeah Carter, Yeah, but I can't wait for tonight. I mean,
- 24:47Speaker 2: tonight is going to be just a butte million dollar reward.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Nancy Guthrie, of course, uh, missing since February first, Her
- 24:57Speaker 3: daughter Savannah came out and posted on social media this
- 24:59Speaker 3: morning the family's offering a million dollar reward for her return.
- 25:03Speaker 3: They also say that they realize she may no longer
- 25:07Speaker 3: be with us. And then also the other information that's
- 25:11Speaker 3: come out is that the guy in the pictures from
- 25:14Speaker 3: the doorbell camera had apparently been there more than once,
- 25:18Speaker 3: because it says that one of the pictures is from
- 25:22Speaker 3: earlier than February first. They believe she was taken on
- 25:25Speaker 3: February first. In one picture he has a backpack. On
- 25:29Speaker 3: another picture he doesn't. They say those pictures are from
- 25:32Speaker 3: different days.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're probably going to grab him at
- 25:35Speaker 2: some point, because they did find DNA in the house
- 25:38Speaker 2: that was not hers, and they're trying to figure out
- 25:42Speaker 2: who maybe, and they put it through the databases and
- 25:44Speaker 2: it's not in Codex of Criminals that where the DNA
- 25:49Speaker 2: has been taken, fingerprints, aliva, that sort of thing, because
- 25:54Speaker 2: they now have the ability to re engineer or go
- 25:56Speaker 2: backwards and find cousins and find uncle, second cousins and
- 26:00Speaker 2: then just say who and your family and then they
- 26:02Speaker 2: start tracking down who was where. So inevitably they're going
- 26:06Speaker 2: to catch this guy. But it's going to take a
- 26:07Speaker 2: long time. That's the problem. And of course at this point,
- 26:11Speaker 2: you know people are losing hope. And Savannah Guthrie, as
- 26:16Speaker 2: you said it for the first time, admitted that her
- 26:18Speaker 2: mom may be gone, and you wonder how long has
- 26:23Speaker 2: she actually thought that, And unfortunately probably longer than we see.
- 26:29Speaker 5: But at this point, wouldn't you almost rather than you
- 26:33Speaker 5: thinking about your mom being held up captive somewhere.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, closure, I mean, I mean you do very
- 26:41Speaker 2: sad not knowing. Yeah, chaos in Mexico.
- 26:45Speaker 5: Dozens of Mexican soldiers killed in those cartel attacks. This
- 26:50Speaker 5: is after that operation that was targeting that drug kingpin, Elmentcho.
- 26:56Speaker 5: And uh so now you've got to shine bamb the
- 27:01Speaker 5: Mexican President, Claudia Shinebaum, coming out and seeing the countries
- 27:04Speaker 5: at peace currently and there's calm. Some say differently yet,
- 27:10Speaker 5: but you know, they're pulling people out of cars and
- 27:14Speaker 5: torching at.
- 27:15Speaker 2: This point, we're not We're not seeing mass killings. They're
- 27:17Speaker 2: just making life miserable. So I guess there's good news there.
- 27:21Speaker 2: But there it's the the cartel is saying, hey, don't
- 27:26Speaker 2: screw with us, because we're gonna make your life miserable.
- 27:28Speaker 2: This goes back to the days of El Chappa with
- 27:31Speaker 2: his son. They captured his son. Mexican authorities picked up
- 27:35Speaker 2: his son and they had to let him go because
- 27:40Speaker 2: El Choppo was making it just started destroying the country. Also,
- 27:46Speaker 2: don't you find it ironic that El Mencho, which of
- 27:50Speaker 2: course is the Spanish the equivalent of the Mensch and
- 27:56Speaker 2: he probably isn't a mensch, right, you think he's sugar.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I don't. I think he's beyond okay, and we're looking
- 28:07Speaker 2: for his mishpaka or miss pa. Well, they they're all
- 28:13Speaker 2: mishuka at that. Now they're not together. Oh that's a
- 28:18Speaker 2: good point. If they're very close together, then they may
- 28:20Speaker 2: very well be mishpocha.
- 28:22Speaker 3: What are you talking about? What do these words mean?
- 28:25Speaker 2: Oh?
- 28:25Speaker 3: Well, me, Amy, I know, I know.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Next time I see you will Yeah, next time I
- 28:32Speaker 2: see you, I'm taking away your juw card. Amy, You're done.
- 28:35Speaker 3: I don't have a jew card.
- 28:35Speaker 5: I'm Lutheran.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna give it to you and then take
- 28:38Speaker 2: it away. We're done. Guys, look at over here. Oh
- 28:48Speaker 2: it is such a gooy all right? K f I
