- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here and this hypnosis session is where I was
- 0:43working with a younger client, a teenage boy that was being
- 0:48taunted. Some people would have used the
- 0:52word bullied. I didn't and I wouldn't because
- 0:55sometimes it can just be interpreted that way.
- 0:59There was verbal abuse, verbal teasing, verbal criticism, and
- 1:05that was knocking their confidence.
- 1:07And that can become very circular because if you're in a
- 1:10situation where your confidence gets lower, then people that do
- 1:16like to kind of dominate in that way will read that as a victory
- 1:19and it kind of emboldens them. So this hypnosis session has
- 1:24various components. There was a holiday that they
- 1:26could recall where they felt very confident.
- 1:28So we regress back to that. There's a visual metaphor of
- 1:32breathing and confidence and exhaling anything that might be
- 1:35insecurities or stress or worries.
- 1:38They had a role model that was a footballer that was a smaller
- 1:43football player that was very confident and definitely
- 1:45wouldn't have been bothered by opponents or even the crowd, you
- 1:49know, chanting at them or criticizing them.
- 1:52So we've got a role model there as well.
- 1:55And we've also got a visual metaphor of a force field so
- 1:58that they can imagine feeling confident within their force
- 2:02field. And also one of the things that
- 2:05this client particularly liked is this idea that sometimes it's
- 2:09insecure animals that try and overcompensate.
- 2:13So we started thinking of this person that was kind of teasing
- 2:15and taunting them. There's a bit of a yapping
- 2:18Chihuahua so that rather than them being afraid or worried by
- 2:23the the verbal taunts, they could smile and not be bothered
- 2:26by it. Because a yapping Chihuahua
- 2:30isn't really a threat to anyone and the biggest dogs don't need
- 2:33to bark. So we can even always frame this
- 2:35person as an insecure person trying to dominate other people
- 2:40as well. Obviously it was created for a
- 2:43school aged teenager. You might also be able to
- 2:48resonate with this if the power dynamics are off.
- 2:52And I've worked with people where the power dynamics were
- 2:55off with a colleague, a family member, a partner, even a boss.
- 2:59And therefore it doesn't have to only be relevant for school aged
- 3:04children or teenagers. This is relevant for anyone that
- 3:07feels that words are knocking their confidence.
- 3:11So if you can connect with that, it would be useful.
- 3:14But equally I think children at school, if they are being teased
- 3:19or taunted, will get more value of this, particularly if they
- 3:22can identify with some of the metaphors included.
- 3:26It was created for an individual, therefore some of
- 3:28the references, some of the suggestions, particularly
- 3:31regressing to a beach in Nice, are incredibly specific to the
- 3:34client I was working with. So if you like the idea of
- 3:38working with me directly, or perhaps if you're a parent
- 3:41watching this or listening to this, you know, for a child,
- 3:45there will be a link in the description where you can
- 3:48schedule a completely free consultation call.
- 3:51We'll have a chat and it might be that I end up working with
- 3:53you or your child to do some hypnotherapy.
- 3:57For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:00won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:25Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:35feeling of calm relaxation, and as you exhale, feel a wonderful
- 4:45feeling of release, as if any tension, stress, or worries
- 4:51adjust, leaving your body as you breathe out, breathing in
- 4:57relaxation, and exhaling any tension.
- 5:05That's it. And I want you to focus your
- 5:09attention on the tiny muscles behind your eyeballs.
- 5:15Really focus on that point. And as you imagine all those
- 5:22tiny muscles around your eyeball, I want you to imagine
- 5:28breathing in a color that represents resourceful
- 5:33relaxation. And as you breathe in that
- 5:39color, imagine it going in through your nose down into your
- 5:45lungs. And then just imagine your heart
- 5:49is distributing that resourceful relaxation all across your body.
- 5:56But I want you to focus on those tiny muscles around the eyeball,
- 6:02almost like it's relaxing those muscles.
- 6:09Because when your eyes are relaxed, when they're really
- 6:14relaxed, sometimes vision improves, or perhaps the speed
- 6:23at which vision changes is reduced.
- 6:28And I want you to feel that you are helping your eyes be healthy
- 6:34and clear. That's it.
- 6:39Focus on the back of your eyeballs and on the next outward
- 6:44breath. Just release that breath,
- 6:47feeling any tension leave your body, noticing that the deeper
- 6:53you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 6:58And the more relaxed you become the deeper you breathe, each
- 7:03breath taking you deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 7:10And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 7:17And I want your imagination to take you back to a memory.
- 7:22Just allow yourself to drift back to a warm sunny beach in
- 7:28Nice. You know that your physical body
- 7:32is where it is, but imagine that your imagination is somewhere
- 7:37else. And maybe you could imagine
- 7:43feeling the sun on your skin. Perhaps you could imagine waves
- 7:49or blue skies, maybe even the sound of the sea rolling in and
- 7:57out just like a calm, steady breath.
- 8:04Imagine wearing any clothing that is suitable for that beach.
- 8:10Maybe your barefoot, Maybe you could imagine feeling the sand
- 8:15beneath your feet, even in between your toes.
- 8:21And they're on that beach. Every breath enables your body
- 8:25to relax even more, and the sound of the waves become like
- 8:32the rhythm of your own heartbeat.
- 8:36Calm, regular and relaxing. But I want you to imagine
- 8:44walking along that beach in your imagination with a very relaxed,
- 8:50confident way of walking. And just notice how free you
- 8:55feel here. Light, confident, completely
- 9:01yourself. And I want you to imagine.
- 9:06Every step on that beach enables you to feel stronger and more
- 9:14confident. And every time a wave breaks,
- 9:19just relax the muscles in your neck and your shoulders.
- 9:23Feel your head being held high, your chin going up and your arms
- 9:30relaxing and your mind becoming clear.
- 9:35And I want you to imagine feeling twice as confident as
- 9:40you felt there on that beach. You were already confident
- 9:45there, but now imagine twice the confidence as you start to feel
- 9:52that same energy returning. That feeling of confidence, that
- 9:57feeling of it's completely fine to be you.
- 10:07And I wonder there on that beach, if you are able to
- 10:11imagine breathing in a combination of white and yellow,
- 10:17almost like bright white light and a glowing white gold.
- 10:24Imagine this is no longer relaxation, but concentrated
- 10:29confidence. And as you breathe in at white
- 10:36and gold, I want you to imagine the glowing light of white and
- 10:42gold there in your chest, right in the middle of your rib cage,
- 10:46close to your heart. And as you breathe out, just
- 10:51imagine dark shadows. And that represents any fears,
- 10:56insecurities, any worries. So you're breathing in bright
- 11:02white gold and you're breathing out dark shadows, each breath
- 11:09making you feel more confident and releasing any old stresses
- 11:16and worries. And I wonder if you can feel
- 11:21what it would be like if each breath in fills you with power
- 11:28and calm, and each breath out releases tension in glowing
- 11:37confidence and out anything that doesn't serve you.
- 11:43And as you continue breathing this way, you can imagine that
- 11:51glowing light spreading outwards from your chest, forming a
- 11:57bright protective bubble all around you.
- 12:03In fact, I wonder if you could imagine a force field of pure
- 12:10golden energy. And inside the bubble, this is
- 12:17your space. Inside it you are calm, strong
- 12:23and untouchable. And outside it, any words, any
- 12:29taunts, any criticism, just bounces off like raindrops
- 12:36sliding off glass or like tennis balls hitting a solid wall and
- 12:43then just bouncing away. I want you to feel feel that
- 12:51depending on who you are changes what other people say and what
- 12:57other people do. A wise man once said.
- 13:04Lions don't consider themselves with the opinions of sheep.
- 13:12To allow words to hurt you, they have to be given power.
- 13:18And what if we take all of that power away?
- 13:24And I want you to notice how good it feels to be surrounded
- 13:27by that glowing white and gold force field, feel that strength
- 13:35and power and that same kind of focused energy that the very
- 13:41best football players feel when they step out onto the pitch.
- 13:47In fact, you might think of a specific player that you
- 13:51consider confident, resilient, that words will not affect
- 13:59whether they appear on the field or play the game well.
- 14:06And these top players don't get distracted by the crowd or what
- 14:11the opposing players say because they are in the zone, calm,
- 14:19powerful and ready. And you would like that too.
- 14:27That force field, that bubble of light reminds you that it's up
- 14:32to you to decide what gets in. If someone says something
- 14:37unkind, just imagine their words hitting the bubble and bouncing
- 14:42away. You stay calm, you stay cool,
- 14:48you stay focused, like a top player in control in the game,
- 14:54no matter who they are playing against.
- 14:59And I wonder if you can imagine they're on the beach.
- 15:04Someone is a trying to taunt you there.
- 15:09You are on the beach inside your bubble.
- 15:14But I want you to imagine a person that's been saying words,
- 15:18but I want you to shrink them down to the size of a little
- 15:23Chihuahua. The same words, but now from a
- 15:30tiny little dog. Just imagine when they're that
- 15:37size. Whatever they say seems to make
- 15:41you smile. You can even imagine their
- 15:45voices. Yappy.
- 15:48Squeaky. Imagine them as that yapping
- 15:52Chihuahua. And then imagine that person
- 15:58with those unkind words. They're outside the bubble, and
- 16:05even if they're full size, you still think of them as that
- 16:09small yapping dog. You consider them harmless.
- 16:15They are no real threat, they are just background noise that
- 16:20you can choose to ignore or even better, smile at.
- 16:28You already know that truly confident people don't need to
- 16:33bark loudly, don't need to put other people down.
- 16:39So every time you hear that person saying anything, whether
- 16:43it's on the playground, a football pitch, or perhaps even
- 16:49on some chat platform, you can smile.
- 16:55And in your mind, you think of them as that small yapping
- 16:59Chihuahua. And you'll remember that their
- 17:04behaviour is all about them and not about you.
- 17:09And just like your favorite player, that confident athlete,
- 17:17you focus on your game, your moves, your goals.
- 17:25So there on the beach, I want you to imagine taking on the
- 17:30posture if you had triple the confidence.
- 17:33Now just imagine standing tall, head held high, chin up,
- 17:43shoulders bag, with your back straight and strong like a
- 17:49champion. And I want you to feel what it
- 17:53would feel like to have that power pose lock into place,
- 17:58activating that posture of confidence.
- 18:03And I want you to really believe that when you stand like that,
- 18:11you're not trying to be confident.
- 18:14You are confidence. So from now on, whenever you
- 18:21stand tall like that, feel that glowing white, yellow energy
- 18:26rise up inside you, instantly activating that bubble of calm
- 18:31strength. Each breath becomes slower and
- 18:37deeper. Each heart beats steadier, each
- 18:42thought clearer, like it's automatic, natural, and just who
- 18:49you are. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 18:55yourself now, perhaps back at school, maybe see yourself on a
- 19:01playground. But you're the observer now, and
- 19:06I want you to see that that future version of you looks
- 19:08different. You're smiling more, your facial
- 19:15expression is relaxed. The way you walk, run or move is
- 19:21just more deliberate, more confident.
- 19:28And I want you to imagine seeing yourself playing with friends,
- 19:33maybe football, and then see someone else there also playing
- 19:39that is trying, trying to dominate you or criticize you.
- 19:46It just doesn't work. And the harder they try, the
- 19:50more you smile, the more unbothered you look.
- 19:57If anything, it makes you play better just to prove that they
- 20:02can't get to you in any way. And every now and then you'll
- 20:08choose your response. If they attempt to taunt or
- 20:12tease you get to decide how you respond, and with a good
- 20:20response that you've prepared or thought through or just comes to
- 20:25you in the moment. Notice how quickly that version
- 20:29of you turns teasing into banter.
- 20:33Because that future version of you?
- 20:36You are in control. Someone can try and dominate
- 20:43you, but that doesn't mean you have to be dominated.
- 20:48And each time you handle things calmly, you build more inner
- 20:52strength. You gain more respect from
- 20:55others and build more belief in yourself.
- 21:03And I want you to imagine seeing yourself in different situations
- 21:08and when people try, try and taunt, tease, criticize, or do
- 21:15anything, it doesn't work in the same way it used to see yourself
- 21:25unfazed, unbothered, looking confident.
- 21:28And then when you see yourself confidently dealing with
- 21:32something that used to bother you in the past, let me know by
- 21:36nodding your head. And I want you to imagine
- 21:42stepping into that version of you.
- 21:45You're now in your body, but perhaps at school.
- 21:50Imagine someone attempting and just notice you shift your
- 21:54posture, chin up, head up, back straight, smiling and imagine
- 22:02them attempting trying their hardest to get to you and you
- 22:08smile. You feel confident.
- 22:12You imagine them as a a yapping Chihuahua.
- 22:17Your force field keeps you strong and confident and you can
- 22:22choose to respond if you want, but you don't have to because
- 22:27you have nothing to prove. You are confident, you are calm,
- 22:33and you feel good. You feel good in your own body
- 22:39and you accept everything about you.
- 22:43And the harder they try, the less effective it becomes
- 22:48because it activates confidence in you, not submission.
- 22:52And when you can imagine that, feel what that would feel like
- 22:58to handle things differently in your future.
- 23:01I mean, no, but not in your head.
- 23:05That's it. And whenever you do that pose,
- 23:09that posture, these feelings will come back immediately.
- 23:15It's time to leave this place in your imagination.
- 23:19And in fact, also the beach there in Nice.
- 23:23Imagine floating all the way back into the here and the now.
- 23:27So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 23:32nose as very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 23:36you. You will feel confident.
- 23:40You will feel that no one can get to you unless you allow it.
- 23:46You will almost look forward to the next time that someone
- 23:49attempts to challenge you because you will remain unfazed.
- 23:55Starting to count to awaken you. 123 Waking up 456 More alert 7-8
