- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of Cardinal Territory.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Along with Lancelyn, I'm Jim Hayes, and look who's.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Back, Matt Holiday right.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Right right. Nice to see you, good people, good to
- 0:23Speaker 3: be good to be here, good to be seen. Nice,
- 0:25Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 0:26Speaker 1: People should know that before we started rolling tape, as
- 0:29Speaker 1: they say, you were verbally assaulting me. Before we get
- 0:34Speaker 1: to that, though, we always try to sell, sell, sell,
- 0:38Speaker 1: So if you like Cardinal Territory, and we assume if
- 0:41Speaker 1: you're watching you do and you haven't subscribed, just hit
- 0:44Speaker 1: that button. We're trying to get to seven thousand. Still
- 0:47Speaker 1: still pushing, still pushing, still.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Trying to get to seven. Huh, I've been going a while.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I thought I thought we'd be pushing eight by now,
- 0:57Speaker 3: me too.
- 0:57Speaker 2: What are you drinking a little coffee?
- 1:00Speaker 3: Yes, thank you so much.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Yes, uh, I.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Have the first question I want to ask you because
- 1:05Speaker 1: someone on the Cardinal Territory chat asked this. They noticed
- 1:09Speaker 1: you weren't around much, and they had a theory. Then
- 1:13Speaker 1: Matt left because you hated me, yes or no?
- 1:17Speaker 3: No comment? Uh? No, I didn't.
- 1:21Speaker 5: I didn't leave, Jim, but I did change time zones,
- 1:25Speaker 5: which puts me two hours different than you guys.
- 1:29Speaker 3: And then.
- 1:32Speaker 5: So I've had some had some things I've had to
- 1:36Speaker 5: handle that I do in the mornings. So I'm gonna
- 1:39Speaker 5: try to try to get on more and uh finagle
- 1:43Speaker 5: my schedule a little bit so that I can or
- 1:45Speaker 5: we could try to, you know, be a little flexible
- 1:48Speaker 5: with times. I don't want to mess Lances and and
- 1:51Speaker 5: Kyle's schedules up. I would surely like to mess yours up,
- 1:54Speaker 5: but I it's not because I don't enjoy the show
- 1:59Speaker 5: or hatred for you necessarily.
- 2:03Speaker 3: So let's just enjoy that I'm here today and it's
- 2:09Speaker 3: good to see Lance.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It's nice. We'll work it out. We'll get the whole
- 2:15Speaker 1: thing worked out. My next question is about your boy Jackson.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Uh started the season after surgery and then was on
- 2:23Speaker 1: a rehab and apparently he's close, but now he's dealing
- 2:26Speaker 1: with some soreness.
- 2:28Speaker 2: What's the update on Jackson.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, this is such a tricky injury because
- 2:34Speaker 5: you know, he had the surgery and you know it's
- 2:39Speaker 5: such an integral part of hitting, and so he was
- 2:43Speaker 5: he was working, you know, obviously coming back and he
- 2:48Speaker 5: had some soreness on the opposite side. Which as you
- 2:51Speaker 5: guys you know, as you know, sometimes there's you kind
- 2:55Speaker 5: of compensate, uh with some with some stuff. So his
- 2:59Speaker 5: his wrists on the opposite side got a little bit sore.
- 3:02Speaker 5: So he was in in Norfolk and then now he's
- 3:06Speaker 5: he went back to Baltimore and and uh got some
- 3:09Speaker 5: reassurance that that everything was fine, and then you know,
- 3:11Speaker 5: he just had some inflammation on the other side of
- 3:13Speaker 5: his wrist, and and so uh taking some anti inflammatories
- 3:18Speaker 5: and then he's gonna go back on rehab. I think
- 3:21Speaker 5: he's gonna go to Frederick maybe today. I don't know
- 3:24Speaker 5: if he's playing tonight, maybe tomorrow and Sunday, and then
- 3:29Speaker 5: reevaluate for you know, Uh, I think you know, every
- 3:33Speaker 5: minor league teams off Monday, possibly back to Norfolk for
- 3:37Speaker 5: Tuesday and Wednesday, and then kind of see where they're at.
- 3:40Speaker 5: So he's he's, uh, he's working his way back. Obviously,
- 3:45Speaker 5: don't want to rush it. Make sure that he feels
- 3:47Speaker 5: strong and ready. As you guys know, the big leagues
- 3:50Speaker 5: is a bear to tackle, especially if you're not feeling
- 3:53Speaker 5: one hundred percent. So I think it's it's just being
- 3:57Speaker 5: cautious with with the with the wrist and making sure
- 4:01Speaker 5: when he does get activated that he's one hundred percent
- 4:04Speaker 5: confident where he's at physically so that he can get
- 4:07Speaker 5: out there and compete at the highest level he can.
- 4:09Speaker 5: So it's just been a little bit, you know, it's
- 4:13Speaker 5: never linear, I think in recovering from from injuries and
- 4:17Speaker 5: and particularly risks. You know, there's been a lot of
- 4:20Speaker 5: a lot of guys that have had that surgery, and
- 4:22Speaker 5: so there's there's just uh, you know, a little hiccups
- 4:25Speaker 5: here and there, and and uh, you know.
- 4:27Speaker 3: He's he's but he's close and feeling good.
- 4:31Speaker 5: I just talked to him a few minutes ago, and
- 4:32Speaker 5: and I think he's he's getting excited about where he's at.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Cool. We wish him well.
- 4:38Speaker 1: All right, so does Cardinal Territory. Let's talk Cardinals. As
- 4:42Speaker 1: we suspected, there's going to be some ups and downs.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Cardinals right now after taking the last two games of
- 4:47Speaker 1: their series with the Guardians a couple of games over
- 4:50Speaker 1: five hundred.
- 4:51Speaker 2: So let's let's let's get a progress report.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Where are the Cardinals now compared to before the start
- 4:58Speaker 1: of the season, and your assessment.
- 5:02Speaker 6: I think if you if you look at the numbers
- 5:04Speaker 6: of kind of everything that's going on, they are going
- 5:07Speaker 6: to be right around a five hundred team or maybe a.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Little bit less.
- 5:11Speaker 6: Right now, there are two games above, right, so you
- 5:13Speaker 6: look at we'll go pitching side right out of the gate,
- 5:17Speaker 6: negative seventeen in run differential in eighteen games, so you
- 5:20Speaker 6: know obviously not you know, looking up, but that a
- 5:23Speaker 6: lot of that has to do with their third and
- 5:24Speaker 6: runs given up in the pitching staff third and earned
- 5:27Speaker 6: runs given up fourth, and hvps at ten, tenth in
- 5:31Speaker 6: walks at seventy one, so you kind combine free.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Base runners they are, you know, in.
- 5:37Speaker 6: The top six or seven in the league and free
- 5:39Speaker 6: base runners given up, so not good, especially with a
- 5:42Speaker 6: big last in case as a staff. So when you
- 5:47Speaker 6: look at the pitching staff run differentials right now, they're
- 5:50Speaker 6: going to have to limit base runners with walks and
- 5:52Speaker 6: hpps and they're going to start striking out more guys
- 5:55Speaker 6: or that run differential is going to be a problem
- 5:57Speaker 6: all year no matter what the offense does. And it
- 6:00Speaker 6: seems the offense seems to be right in the middle
- 6:01Speaker 6: of the pack in every category, which I find to
- 6:04Speaker 6: be a little bit promising because of the group that
- 6:06Speaker 6: they have and they're kind of coming into their own
- 6:09Speaker 6: so to be right in the middle of the pack
- 6:10Speaker 6: is good. So pitching wise, we've got to strike out
- 6:13Speaker 6: more people. We got to give up less hits, we
- 6:15Speaker 6: got to give up less walks, less, less hbps. So
- 6:19Speaker 6: that's kind of where we're at on that side of
- 6:22Speaker 6: the thing. And one of my big concerns at the
- 6:25Speaker 6: moment is makeing one. You're looking at a one eighty
- 6:28Speaker 6: eight average. Yes, zero home runs, one RBIs one RBI
- 6:32Speaker 6: was a game winner. But that being said, I just don't.
- 6:38Speaker 6: I'm worried a little bit about him. And I think
- 6:40Speaker 6: it has to do with the we know Mason, right,
- 6:43Speaker 6: we all seen him do his thing and all that.
- 6:46Speaker 6: He's you know, he's always going to give one hundred
- 6:48Speaker 6: percent defensively, is always going to be there and all that.
- 6:50Speaker 4: They got to figure out a way to get him going.
- 6:52Speaker 6: And I I keep going back to, hey, put him
- 6:56Speaker 6: at the top of the lineup.
- 6:57Speaker 4: When you lose Donnie, when.
- 6:59Speaker 6: You leave, when you lose new when you lose all
- 7:02Speaker 6: these guys that were the guys right, they were up
- 7:06Speaker 6: at the top of the lineup leading off, and then
- 7:08Speaker 6: you're supposed to be the new team leader, this and
- 7:12Speaker 6: that and stuff like that, and then you don't get
- 7:15Speaker 6: put at the top of the lineup. I'm not saying
- 7:17Speaker 6: feelings get hurt, but feelings get hurt in this game,
- 7:20Speaker 6: and you try to do things you're not capable of
- 7:24Speaker 6: or you just are pissed off. So I just feel
- 7:27Speaker 6: like if you were going to make Mason a leader
- 7:30Speaker 6: and do these things and then you give leadoff spot
- 7:32Speaker 6: to a rookie right out of the gate, and this
- 7:35Speaker 6: rookie is good, don't get me wrong, but when you
- 7:37Speaker 6: have a guy like Mason, with his ability to give
- 7:41Speaker 6: energy and do the things that he can do offensively
- 7:44Speaker 6: that feeds this team. It was kind of tailor made
- 7:47Speaker 6: to put him at the top and then put JJ
- 7:51Speaker 6: right behind him and have a youthful one two pop
- 7:53Speaker 6: at the top of the middle and all that. And
- 7:55Speaker 6: I'm wondering if that's put a toll on Mason to
- 7:59Speaker 6: start the year where you know, he's playing a little
- 8:02Speaker 6: pissed off because he thinks he should be the leadoff
- 8:03Speaker 6: hitter and he's not going to say it out loud,
- 8:06Speaker 6: and he's going to do the things that he needs
- 8:07Speaker 6: to do. But that's my worry right now, and I
- 8:10Speaker 6: feel like that was something I was worried about when
- 8:12Speaker 6: they said that he wasn't going to be lead off.
- 8:14Speaker 6: When they were talking about JJ doing it, is Hey,
- 8:16Speaker 6: you're telling a guy that it's his time and this
- 8:18Speaker 6: and that, and he's waited his turn. He's one gold glove,
- 8:21Speaker 6: you know, he's done his thing, and you're kind of
- 8:23Speaker 6: making him a team leader and being a clubhouse boys.
- 8:26Speaker 6: And then he doesn't get to the leadoff spot when
- 8:27Speaker 6: all the leadoff hitters are gone from the time before
- 8:30Speaker 6: when he was coming up.
- 8:31Speaker 4: So that's my worry, I gotta say.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I mean, well, first, Mason did just get punked and
- 8:39Speaker 1: sat out a game, so he's dealing with that. But Matt,
- 8:42Speaker 1: well you are in your hiatus. Maybe while you were
- 8:45Speaker 1: here too, we were all like Mason when at the
- 8:48Speaker 1: top of the order, why one, he really wanted to
- 8:51Speaker 1: do it. And I think there's something to what Lance
- 8:53Speaker 1: is saying also the mentality of it. But I also
- 8:57Speaker 1: want to give j Jason credit because he went to
- 8:59Speaker 1: that like old for whatever. He went for a long
- 9:01Speaker 1: stretch with that hit, but he kept walking, He kept
- 9:04Speaker 1: walking like he was able to handle it and still contribute.
- 9:08Speaker 2: But what do you think about that.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Can a thing like that young player like Mason went
- 9:14Speaker 1: who's kind of emotional, wanted to lead off and all
- 9:17Speaker 1: of a sudden it's JJ.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Can that play into it?
- 9:22Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 9:22Speaker 5: I mean, look, I certainly think that you know, it's
- 9:27Speaker 5: this is the pros, like this is the middle leagues,
- 9:29Speaker 5: and you do what you're told. You know, it's it's
- 9:33Speaker 5: a but I do think, Look, these are human beings
- 9:37Speaker 5: and there's emotions as part of it. And look, I
- 9:40Speaker 5: mean I think if he if he slide JJ to
- 9:44Speaker 5: the two hole, like what's the big difference? You know,
- 9:47Speaker 5: I would be interested to ask Alli that, you know, like, okay,
- 9:50Speaker 5: maybe give it a shot. Like at this point, Mason's
- 9:54Speaker 5: you know, his.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Numbers are.
- 9:57Speaker 5: Are warrantying like something different. So you need this guy
- 10:01Speaker 5: to be good. You need him to be an all
- 10:03Speaker 5: star caliber player, a franchise type player for your organization
- 10:07Speaker 5: to take that next step. And so I think it's
- 10:10Speaker 5: worth you know, I remember Tony used to mess with
- 10:13Speaker 5: the lineup a lot because I think he felt he
- 10:16Speaker 5: felt it mattered. And you know, obviously a Hall of
- 10:19Speaker 5: Fame manager and managed people and managed great players, managed
- 10:22Speaker 5: all stars, managed some of the great players, of all time,
- 10:27Speaker 5: and he would slide guys around. I remember in twenty ten,
- 10:31Speaker 5: I got off to a bit of a slow start.
- 10:34Speaker 5: I just signed that big deal, and you know, I'd
- 10:37Speaker 5: felt a little bit of the pressure of signing a
- 10:39Speaker 5: big deal and kind of getting off to not what
- 10:42Speaker 5: I would want as a good start, and he slid
- 10:44Speaker 5: me up to the two hole in front of Albert.
- 10:48Speaker 3: And whatever reason.
- 10:51Speaker 5: I don't think it was necessarily a big thing for
- 10:54Speaker 5: me as far as like, oh okay, now I'm going
- 10:56Speaker 5: to change anything. But I got and and had some
- 11:02Speaker 5: had some good games, and you know, eventually went back
- 11:05Speaker 5: to hitting behind Albert. But I think at some point
- 11:08Speaker 5: your your star players, if if there's if they're the
- 11:12Speaker 5: performances is not there, it's okay to to maybe bump
- 11:17Speaker 5: them up and and and put him in the one hole,
- 11:20Speaker 5: put jj you know, kind of do something different, shake
- 11:23Speaker 5: things up. It's not like, you know, offensively, they're crushing it.
- 11:26Speaker 5: I mean, outside of Jordan Walker, the numbers are are
- 11:29Speaker 5: not great, and and it's a couple of the guys
- 11:31Speaker 5: that they were really counting on have not done anything offensively,
- 11:35Speaker 5: And like Lance said, like that might be a good thing,
- 11:37Speaker 5: Like they're they're over five hundred, and some of the
- 11:41Speaker 5: key offensive players have not have not even gotten hot
- 11:45Speaker 5: or have given you the the production that you expected.
- 11:49Speaker 3: So I think it's okay.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Like I said, like, JJ's not crushing it, like he's
- 11:54Speaker 5: hitting two twenty seven, Like it's not like he's batten
- 11:57Speaker 5: three thirty. And you're like, well, we don't really want
- 11:59Speaker 5: to move him because he's doing so great. Obviously he's
- 12:02Speaker 5: still walking in a three fifty on base percentage for
- 12:05Speaker 5: a rookie is great or good.
- 12:08Speaker 3: But I think it's worth trying to.
- 12:12Speaker 5: Get somebody like h Mason hot, or get him going,
- 12:17Speaker 5: or or give him a different mindset, or give him
- 12:19Speaker 5: a different excitement about what he's doing because you need him,
- 12:23Speaker 5: you need him, you need him to be a good
- 12:25Speaker 5: offensive player. Uh if you're gonna you know, this year
- 12:28Speaker 5: and moving forward. So h I think it's worth a shot.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I like that and full transparency. Ali, who apparently will
- 12:37Speaker 1: watch the show. He was on an episode not too
- 12:39Speaker 1: long ago, Matt and he's like, what's with you guys?
- 12:43Speaker 1: You want me at the top of the lineup. I said, look,
- 12:46Speaker 1: that's we all, That's the one thing I think we
- 12:48Speaker 1: all agree on that. We'd like to see that, you know,
- 12:51Speaker 1: give him a shot, give it a look, see how
- 12:53Speaker 1: it goes. Another thing about the offense though, and I'm
- 12:56Speaker 1: wondering your guy's take on this.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I'll start with you, Lance, But.
- 12:59Speaker 1: So the the offensive numbers are, you know, Matt, we
- 13:03Speaker 1: get it, but could lead if these guys hit to
- 13:07Speaker 1: better things down the road. One thing this team does
- 13:10Speaker 1: outside of running and taking extra basis they're about the
- 13:14Speaker 1: top of the league in that. But they score their
- 13:16Speaker 1: runs late from the sixth thenning on the cards I
- 13:20Speaker 1: think are third best in baseball. And you watch the games,
- 13:23Speaker 1: you know at some point, Lance, they're going to string
- 13:26Speaker 1: something together. So does that say something about what they
- 13:30Speaker 1: can be or is that sort of an anomaly to you?
- 13:36Speaker 6: I think you're seeing there's two ways to look at this.
- 13:39Speaker 6: You're seeing a group that has no quit and are
- 13:42Speaker 6: not afraid, you know, as the game gets late, they're
- 13:44Speaker 6: not going to claim.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Up a little bit.
- 13:45Speaker 6: But you're also seeing a group that hasn't faced eleaite back.
- 13:50Speaker 4: In teams yet, to be honest.
- 13:53Speaker 6: So I think it's a little bit of both, which
- 13:55Speaker 6: which is good because they're doing the teams that they're
- 13:57Speaker 6: supposed to you know, capitalize on and stuff like that.
- 14:00Speaker 6: They're not losing those matchups late in the game, so
- 14:03Speaker 6: that's good. Now, when you get to elite closers, elite
- 14:06Speaker 6: set up guys and stuff like that, that's gonna be
- 14:09Speaker 6: the tail of Hey, if they keep doing that and
- 14:11Speaker 6: keep you know, scratching runs and stuff like that, then
- 14:14Speaker 6: then we've got something to talk about. But right now
- 14:17Speaker 6: is they're playing against you know, teams that don't have
- 14:20Speaker 6: you know, top top of the you know, top of
- 14:22Speaker 6: the league back ends, and.
- 14:24Speaker 4: They're doing their scoring runs.
- 14:25Speaker 6: So they're doing what they're supposed to, but it's a
- 14:27Speaker 6: wait and see for elite back ends what they do.
- 14:31Speaker 6: And that's so yeah, that's where I'm at on that.
- 14:34Speaker 6: So I don't think they've played enough games against elite
- 14:37Speaker 6: back ends to say that, you know, it's something to
- 14:39Speaker 6: hang your hat on. I'd say right now, they're doing
- 14:41Speaker 6: what they're supposed to against some of the teams that
- 14:43Speaker 6: don't have bona fide, like All Star back ends.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Fair enough, and we understand it's it's a marathon, you know,
- 14:51Speaker 1: not a sprint, and there's gonna be ups and downs.
- 14:53Speaker 1: But Matt, if a team has seven come from behind
- 14:57Speaker 1: wins to this point in the season for times they've
- 15:01Speaker 1: won an extra innings for a young team, does that
- 15:04Speaker 1: plant some seeds that maybe can be beneficial as the
- 15:08Speaker 1: season slogs along.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think it's great.
- 15:12Speaker 5: I mean, obviously it's kept him in it, that gets
- 15:14Speaker 5: kept him above five hundred. But like Lance said, you
- 15:16Speaker 5: can't rely on that, Like, look, the bullpens and the
- 15:19Speaker 5: pitching these days in the back end. You can't lean
- 15:22Speaker 5: on the fact that you're gonna come back and win
- 15:26Speaker 5: in the sixth inning on all season, Like you're gonna
- 15:28Speaker 5: have to start scoring some runs and doing some damage
- 15:31Speaker 5: early in the game off starters because the pitching at
- 15:34Speaker 5: the back overall is very difficult to just rely on. Hey,
- 15:40Speaker 5: we don't score early, but we score late. I think,
- 15:43Speaker 5: like Lance said, there's that's not a I think I
- 15:47Speaker 5: don't think that that's a something you can just lean
- 15:50Speaker 5: on for the whole season.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I don't think that that's sustainable.
- 15:53Speaker 5: So I'm thinking that, yeah, that's great, it's been I
- 15:58Speaker 5: think it's a good sign for a young team that
- 16:00Speaker 5: that they've they've won close games late. That's a that's
- 16:03Speaker 5: something that the good teams do. I think if you
- 16:06Speaker 5: look at the Dodgers, you know, just off the top
- 16:07Speaker 5: of my head, they they seemingly win a lot of
- 16:10Speaker 5: games late and and we're very difficult to beat at home.
- 16:13Speaker 3: So that's that's that's a that's a sign of a
- 16:15Speaker 3: good team.
- 16:16Speaker 5: But I don't think that's something that you can just
- 16:17Speaker 5: be like, well, you know, we don't score much, surely,
- 16:21Speaker 5: but we we we we're gonna We're gonna wait and
- 16:23Speaker 5: get the back end of these bullpens, because the pitching
- 16:26Speaker 5: at the back end of these bullpens is too nasty
- 16:28Speaker 5: to to think that that's going to be their their
- 16:31Speaker 5: their deal. So I like, look, they're they're they're good
- 16:36Speaker 5: hitters coming into this season.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Have got to get it going.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Uh.
- 16:39Speaker 5: I think for this offense to to to be in
- 16:42Speaker 5: the top half of the league, if if, if you know,
- 16:46Speaker 5: if they want to really really stay in the race,
- 16:48Speaker 5: I mean, I think that that's gonna be a must.
- 16:53Speaker 5: And then, you know, I think that you can't really
- 16:55Speaker 5: count on on probably Jordan Walker maintaining a three twenty
- 16:58Speaker 5: average with over one thousand ops. I mean, I hope
- 17:01Speaker 5: he does. I'm I'm I'm super excited. You know, the
- 17:05Speaker 5: start that he's had and what he's doing. But you
- 17:08Speaker 5: know some of these other guys, you know, when you're
- 17:10Speaker 5: talking about her Era and and uh and Mason win
- 17:13Speaker 5: and and Burlson, they're gonna they're gonna need to get
- 17:15Speaker 5: it going and and it's it's gonna be tough to
- 17:18Speaker 5: rely on on sixth inning or later wins all season.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Points. We're gonna take a break care.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I did want to pass something along Yady, who has
- 17:28Speaker 1: been with the ball club.
- 17:29Speaker 2: He was there this week.
- 17:31Speaker 1: He mentioned that he watched his Cardinal Territory and I said,
- 17:34Speaker 1: what do you think? He's like pretty good? So we
- 17:37Speaker 1: have an endorsement from Yadi or Molina. You're shaking Lance
- 17:41Speaker 1: Matt like you don't believe it. You're saying you don't know.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I believe that.
- 17:45Speaker 5: But when anywhere ever anybody says pretty good, that's like him.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I was like, ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, it's great.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, that's cute. That's cute.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Keep asking me.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we're going to take a break here and
- 17:57Speaker 1: we'll have more of this.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Pretty good question we should take when we come back.
- 18:00Speaker 1: You want to get Ordinal Territory on the foul Territory Network.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Kratz.
- 18:06Speaker 7: The world has a cord problem. Wires everywhere. It's twenty
- 18:10Speaker 7: twenty six and it is time to get a Ridge wallet.
- 18:15Speaker 8: Five and one. It's not a wallet, it's a charger.
- 18:19Speaker 8: Look at this thing. It sticks to your phone. You
- 18:20Speaker 8: push the button, it charges your phone while you can
- 18:24Speaker 8: charge two different items at the same time. Oh and
- 18:27Speaker 8: don't forget while it's charging. You got a little a
- 18:31Speaker 8: little lean to John that'll help it sit right there.
- 18:34Speaker 8: Appreciate your ridgewallet.
- 18:35Speaker 3: This is so nice, which is great for me.
- 18:38Speaker 7: If I'm at the airport, I'm watching a game, I
- 18:40Speaker 7: can charge five devices and then I can just watch
- 18:42Speaker 7: something on the phone. Of course, they still have the
- 18:44Speaker 7: wallets that are money too, and we know the code.
- 18:46Speaker 7: It's nice and simple. It's foul foul. One thing to pack.
- 18:50Speaker 7: Five ways to power. You can find Ridge's power bank
- 18:53Speaker 7: at best Buy or our listeners can get ten percent
- 18:55Speaker 7: off at Ridge dot com by using code foul at checkout.
- 18:58Speaker 7: Head to Ridge dot com code foul and you're all set.
- 19:01Speaker 7: After your purchase, they'll ask you where you heard about him.
- 19:03Speaker 7: Please support ft untell him we sent you.
- 19:07Speaker 4: So.
- 19:07Speaker 1: We are eighteen games into the season for the Cardinals.
- 19:11Speaker 1: We were going to do some list, but I want
- 19:12Speaker 1: to continue with the cardinal discussion because we really didn't
- 19:17Speaker 1: talk about pitching outside of Lance at the top. So
- 19:20Speaker 1: to me, what I'm seeing is the bullpen has had
- 19:24Speaker 1: some struggles. The starters aren't going deep, and they've kind
- 19:27Speaker 1: of eaten each other a little bit. But Lance one
- 19:29Speaker 1: of the positive things about the rotation Dustin May, who's
- 19:33Speaker 1: a key piece, you know, if he can stay healthy
- 19:36Speaker 1: and be what he's been in the past. Last two
- 19:38Speaker 1: starts twelve venues combined, six apiece, one earned run in each.
- 19:43Speaker 2: That certainly helps.
- 19:44Speaker 1: If your starters can go at least six, it's going
- 19:47Speaker 1: to take some of the weight off the bullpen. Your
- 19:49Speaker 1: thoughts on what you've seen from him, One thing he
- 19:52Speaker 1: says is well he's getting ahead and counts, and that
- 19:55Speaker 1: makes all the difference in the world.
- 19:57Speaker 6: Yeah, especially with this stuff, right, I think you're seeing
- 20:00Speaker 6: the last two starts are what we were hoping and
- 20:03Speaker 6: kind of expecting to see. That's why the first two
- 20:06Speaker 6: starts weren't weren't like too worrisome for me, especially to
- 20:09Speaker 6: start the year with new catching or new catcher's new
- 20:12Speaker 6: you know, staff game planning, and this and that.
- 20:14Speaker 4: So it seems to be.
- 20:15Speaker 6: They found a nice little home in between here to
- 20:18Speaker 6: be able to get ahead, make pitches, do the things
- 20:21Speaker 6: you need to do. So yeah, so good two bounce
- 20:24Speaker 6: back starts from the start of the year. Hopefully that's like,
- 20:27Speaker 6: you know, kind of his his momo for the rest
- 20:30Speaker 6: of the year. We you know, as a staff, they
- 20:31Speaker 6: need him to be a six inning guy at least,
- 20:34Speaker 6: and they need him to you know, show up every
- 20:36Speaker 6: five days so there's no skids and and this and that,
- 20:39Speaker 6: and then you know, hopefully the other guys kind of
- 20:42Speaker 6: kind of jump on and when somebody has a bad one,
- 20:44Speaker 6: they you know, three of the five pick him up.
- 20:46Speaker 6: And that's kind of how good rotations go. So you know,
- 20:50Speaker 6: early on he had a couple of bad ones. A
- 20:51Speaker 6: couple of the younger guys threw the ball well, and
- 20:53Speaker 6: then vice versas the last time. So there's gonna go
- 20:55Speaker 6: through stretches where you know, a couple of you aren't
- 20:58Speaker 6: throwing the ball well, but you need to have three
- 21:00Speaker 6: of the five that are able to, you know, hey,
- 21:03Speaker 6: figure out how to get through six, and then the
- 21:05Speaker 6: other guys fight through five, and then that's going to
- 21:08Speaker 6: save the bullpen, and then they'll get in a better
- 21:09Speaker 6: rhythm in the back end too. So I think early
- 21:13Speaker 6: on it's hard to say, hey, they're not throwing enough
- 21:15Speaker 6: innings and this and that. Everything's kind of just a
- 21:18Speaker 6: crazy flow to start the year because pitch counts are
- 21:21Speaker 6: at one hundred yet you're trying to figure out the
- 21:24Speaker 6: flow of the games and this and that. So once
- 21:28Speaker 6: you get into Endo April early May, you're gonna start
- 21:30Speaker 6: seeing guys be able to go six innings, which should
- 21:33Speaker 6: make the bullpen get in a better spot to where
- 21:35Speaker 6: they're more understandable what their roles are, what they what
- 21:39Speaker 6: they're expected to do in night in and night out,
- 21:41Speaker 6: where they're expected to go, and what they're what they're
- 21:44Speaker 6: ready to be for.
- 21:44Speaker 4: And then the starters will start feeding off of each
- 21:46Speaker 4: other too.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Now if they've got a full, full pitch count to
- 21:49Speaker 6: go out there and do the job they need to do.
- 21:51Speaker 6: So I think in that sense it could get better.
- 21:54Speaker 6: But as a group, they have to start striking more
- 21:56Speaker 6: guys out and walking less.
- 21:58Speaker 4: That's where they're at as a hitter man.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Because this is a rotation. You know, we've seen some
- 22:04Speaker 1: good out of it there a few times soon now.
- 22:06Speaker 1: But when you face a rotation in a series where
- 22:09Speaker 1: they don't have starters who you know will punch you
- 22:12Speaker 1: out if you're not ready to go, does that take
- 22:15Speaker 1: some of the pressure off a hitter or does that
- 22:19Speaker 1: not really factor in?
- 22:22Speaker 5: I mean, look, I think in this day and age,
- 22:26Speaker 5: if you look at a rotation, or you look at
- 22:28Speaker 5: if you're going in to play the Cardinals, you certainly
- 22:33Speaker 5: feel better about your chance of having a good offensive
- 22:42Speaker 5: go at it if they don't have The reason they
- 22:44Speaker 5: don't have guys striking people out is because they don't
- 22:47Speaker 5: have a nasty put away pitch. And so as a hitter,
- 22:51Speaker 5: you know that even if you get behind in the count,
- 22:54Speaker 5: you still got a chance. And I think that that's
- 22:57Speaker 5: something you know as offense, especially nowadays, when you go
- 23:01Speaker 5: into these these different uh series. Is if you go
- 23:04Speaker 5: into a series against the Tigers and they got schoobl
- 23:07Speaker 5: and Frember Valdez lined up, you're probably looking like I
- 23:11Speaker 5: need to scratch and claw to try to get a
- 23:13Speaker 5: couple of walks, maybe find out one for three or
- 23:16Speaker 5: one for four out of this deal, and and kind
- 23:18Speaker 5: of just get out of there. I think when they
- 23:21Speaker 5: come into Saint Louis right now, if you don't have
- 23:22Speaker 5: anybody that can strike it, strike a guy out. Uh,
- 23:25Speaker 5: they feel pretty good about that. And but I you know,
- 23:29Speaker 5: it doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna have a ton of success.
- 23:31Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean you don't walk in there and go, God,
- 23:33Speaker 5: these guys are nasty.
- 23:35Speaker 3: You know. It's this is gonna be a daunting task
- 23:38Speaker 3: as a hitter.
- 23:39Speaker 5: And and I think that that's uh, you know, that's
- 23:42Speaker 5: what That's what I would say.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Probably guys going in there.
- 23:45Speaker 5: There's not a there's not necessarily a guy in the rotation.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Obviously, if liberturs on and and and may is on, if.
- 23:52Speaker 5: They have their their best stuff that day, they can
- 23:54Speaker 5: strike some guys out. But Lance said that there's got
- 23:59Speaker 5: to be there's got to be a little more swinging miss.
- 24:01Speaker 5: They want to be a little more put away pitch.
- 24:04Speaker 3: I think for for for hitters.
- 24:06Speaker 5: To to not be super comfortable going into into Saint
- 24:10Speaker 5: playing in Saint Louis. So I think it's it's uh,
- 24:15Speaker 5: it's not it's not something you absolutely have to have,
- 24:19Speaker 5: but it's certainly nice to have guys that can strike
- 24:21Speaker 5: strike people out. And and that's especially this day and
- 24:24Speaker 5: age there's there's just so much good stuff out there
- 24:27Speaker 5: that's that's creating a lot of swinging miss that.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Uh, you need to have some of those guys.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it gives hit or some to think about,
- 24:34Speaker 2: that's for sure.
- 24:35Speaker 1: The bullpen has kind of been in disarray outside of Jojo,
- 24:40Speaker 1: who's been great, and Riley and uh and O'Reilly Riley O'Brien, I'm.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Sorry, Audi Bunds.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he's been lights out too.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Those two guys are nasty.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Can can you talk about what you've seen from those guys, Lance,
- 25:01Speaker 1: Because the rest of the bullpen they can tinker with, right,
- 25:04Speaker 1: but if you have the hammer at the end like
- 25:06Speaker 1: you have with those guys, to me, it makes a difference.
- 25:11Speaker 2: And those guys have nasty, nasty stuff.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 6: I think you're also seeing two guys that are a
- 25:18Speaker 6: little older and have been around. I think you know, uh,
- 25:23Speaker 6: JoJo's got more big league time, but you know, they're
- 25:27Speaker 6: they're doing what you kind of expect them to do
- 25:30Speaker 6: of their age, the things that they've been able to
- 25:33Speaker 6: accomplish in the big league level or the stuff that
- 25:35Speaker 6: you've seen.
- 25:37Speaker 4: So I think that's it. And then the other guys
- 25:39Speaker 4: are young right, they're.
- 25:40Speaker 6: Still trying to figure out who they are, where they
- 25:43Speaker 6: fit in, what's expected of them, how to go about it,
- 25:47Speaker 6: things of things of that nature. So I think we're
- 25:51Speaker 6: kind of seeing Jojo took that huge leap last year
- 25:54Speaker 6: and we're an he's staying on it right now. So
- 25:56Speaker 6: that's huge for him and his career, and he's he's
- 26:00Speaker 6: putting them in a good spot where their back ends
- 26:02Speaker 6: really good. They got to figure out how to bridget
- 26:04Speaker 6: how we're going to get to how we're going to
- 26:06Speaker 6: get to the eighth from the fifth, right, that's the
- 26:09Speaker 6: hard part right now. You know you have days where
- 26:12Speaker 6: you know, uh, Swans Owner or somebody like that, Well,
- 26:14Speaker 6: we'll have a good day, and then the next day
- 26:16Speaker 6: they won't.
- 26:17Speaker 4: So they're gonna have to find that fine line.
- 26:19Speaker 6: You know, Dusty and and Ali are going to have
- 26:21Speaker 6: to find the the pockets that you know, these guys
- 26:25Speaker 6: fit in to give them the best the best success
- 26:28Speaker 6: to get it to the back end and then where
- 26:30Speaker 6: you're not over using those guys in the eighth and
- 26:33Speaker 6: ninth every time either. It would be nice to be
- 26:36Speaker 6: able to mix and match those guys where they're not
- 26:38Speaker 6: not thrown on the same day at times and stuff
- 26:39Speaker 6: like that, not only for their health, but for the
- 26:41Speaker 6: you know, for the the growth of some of the
- 26:44Speaker 6: other guys too, because this is a growth year.
- 26:47Speaker 4: As much as you know, you want to uh.
- 26:50Speaker 6: You know, you know, make a push, you know, be
- 26:52Speaker 6: in the wild card situation, be a five hundred plus team,
- 26:54Speaker 6: but you also have to have some guys grow because
- 26:57Speaker 6: when you look up next year, I think, you know,
- 27:01Speaker 6: Judges Off going to be a free agent. I think,
- 27:03Speaker 6: so you're going to have to find some you need
- 27:06Speaker 6: three or four guys that you can pencil in making
- 27:08Speaker 6: the minimum in your bullpen so you can have some success,
- 27:11Speaker 6: especially if you're going to.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Start spending money elsewhere on a team.
- 27:14Speaker 6: So they're going to have to figure out pockets and
- 27:17Speaker 6: give these guys some success situation successful situations and also
- 27:22Speaker 6: where they and they don't put too much stress on
- 27:25Speaker 6: those two at the back end to be overusing abuse
- 27:27Speaker 6: as a year goes on.
- 27:29Speaker 1: It's a good point because sometimes we forget, as you
- 27:32Speaker 1: guys are analysts and I'm really just a fanboy watching
- 27:36Speaker 1: the games, that this is a year of development, right
- 27:39Speaker 1: like you want them to win. They went through a
- 27:41Speaker 1: three game losing streak and it was awful part of
- 27:44Speaker 1: the process. It's a year for development. So last topic,
- 27:48Speaker 1: and this one's near and dear to my heart because
- 27:50Speaker 1: I know he watches this, but it is a progress
- 27:53Speaker 1: report on the Cardinals. How has Ali Matt your buddy,
- 28:02Speaker 1: balancing trying to win games and be as competitive as
- 28:05Speaker 1: you can also giving.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Guys some room to develop. It's not easy. How is
- 28:09Speaker 2: he doing?
- 28:11Speaker 5: I mean, I think he's doing great. I mean, like
- 28:14Speaker 5: I'm obviously personally biased towards Ali. He's unbelievable human and
- 28:20Speaker 5: one of my good friends. But again, when you're going
- 28:23Speaker 5: through this sort of growth or rebuild or whatever you
- 28:28Speaker 5: want to call it, you're always balancing development, giving guys chances,
- 28:35Speaker 5: finding out what you have. And then at the same time,
- 28:38Speaker 5: this is the major leagues, and if you have chances
- 28:40Speaker 5: to win games, you try to win them. And so
- 28:44Speaker 5: I think it's such an interesting dynamic when you start
- 28:47Speaker 5: talking about some of these guys at the back end.
- 28:50Speaker 5: They're pitching so well with Jojo and O'Brien, and then
- 28:53Speaker 5: you think, well, what does it look like as you
- 28:57Speaker 5: get close to the deadline, if you're if you're kind
- 29:00Speaker 5: of hanging around five hundred and you have these two
- 29:03Speaker 5: assets that people really want to pay for or really
- 29:06Speaker 5: need at the deadline? Do you trade guys that are
- 29:09Speaker 5: having seasons like this? And look, it's only you know,
- 29:12Speaker 5: we're only twenty games in, so they'd have to sustain it.
- 29:15Speaker 3: But when you start thinking about it.
- 29:17Speaker 5: Like it doesn't do you any good to have older
- 29:21Speaker 5: setup men and closers that are that are somewhat close
- 29:23Speaker 5: to free agency. I don't I don't know O'Brien's full
- 29:26Speaker 5: story as far as his service time goes. But when
- 29:29Speaker 5: you have assets like that and you're in a bit
- 29:31Speaker 5: of a rebuild, you start to look at at trade
- 29:34Speaker 5: options and accumulating more prospects, more young guys to build
- 29:41Speaker 5: into your rebuild and say what you want. You know,
- 29:43Speaker 5: it's Saint Louis, so we never want to really say, oh,
- 29:46Speaker 5: we're in a rebuild. But I think you start looking
- 29:49Speaker 5: at your assets and what they can bring you back
- 29:53Speaker 5: as far as next year and the next year. So
- 29:58Speaker 5: I think that'll be interesting as we move, you know,
- 30:01Speaker 5: move on in the season and and how these guys, uh,
- 30:05Speaker 5: you know, develop and and but.
- 30:09Speaker 3: It's uh, I think he's done great.
- 30:11Speaker 5: I mean I think, like I said, balancing the idea
- 30:13Speaker 5: that you're trying to win with the idea that you
- 30:15Speaker 5: also want to.
- 30:16Speaker 3: See what you have and who are key.
- 30:19Speaker 5: Pillars of the organization moving forward, who might be options
- 30:23Speaker 5: to extend, who might be options to trade. I'm sure
- 30:28Speaker 5: you know he and Heimer are are talking about those things,
- 30:31Speaker 5: and in the front office and everybody that goes into
- 30:34Speaker 5: all the decision making. But these these teams that are
- 30:38Speaker 5: sort of in the middle right around five hundred, are
- 30:41Speaker 5: we are we trying to get into the wild card?
- 30:43Speaker 3: Are we trying to.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Optimize the assets that we have in trades as we
- 30:49Speaker 5: go towards the deadline?
- 30:50Speaker 3: Is all going to be interesting to me.
- 30:53Speaker 1: It's gonna be a catch twenty two because look, Cardinals
- 30:56Speaker 1: are playing a pretty good.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Brand of baseball right now, right and they're they're doing
- 31:00Speaker 2: a lot of things well.
- 31:01Speaker 1: And what if they can keep this momentum going and
- 31:04Speaker 1: play competitive baseball and be in the mix and all
- 31:06Speaker 1: the things that you've really liked all of a sudden
- 31:09Speaker 1: are on the table well trade pieces. So it will
- 31:12Speaker 1: be interesting, Lece, I know you like oli too. I
- 31:17Speaker 1: wish you would rip them and criticize them. I know
- 31:19Speaker 1: you're not, but great down Ali for us.
- 31:23Speaker 6: Okay, so I'm I'm gonna try to rip as much
- 31:26Speaker 6: as I can right which is not is not I
- 31:29Speaker 6: can't do it. The hard part with what he's got
- 31:32Speaker 6: right now is to start the year. Everything's kind of
- 31:35Speaker 6: somewhat you know, gone has hoped. I think that you
- 31:39Speaker 6: like to have pitch better. I think when you start
- 31:41Speaker 6: a year, you have your plan when you come in.
- 31:43Speaker 6: You can't break from your plan probably until you're like
- 31:46Speaker 6: thirty games in. So we're right in that spot where
- 31:49Speaker 6: we're filling things out and kind of seeing how it
- 31:52Speaker 6: all fits together and stuff. So I think once we
- 31:54Speaker 6: get to that thirty game mark and we see, hey,
- 31:57Speaker 6: these guys aren't producing where that we need them to
- 32:00Speaker 6: a lineup, so let's let's move it around. Let's do
- 32:02Speaker 6: these things. Or these guys aren't doing the things that
- 32:05Speaker 6: we expected them to do in the back end of
- 32:06Speaker 6: the bullpen or starting, so how are we going to
- 32:10Speaker 6: shake things up a little bit and give other guys
- 32:12Speaker 6: opportunities to have a chance to take over spots or
- 32:15Speaker 6: roles or things of that nature.
- 32:17Speaker 4: So right now, it's.
- 32:18Speaker 6: We're winning games in a way that is you know,
- 32:23Speaker 6: exciting and fun because of the late inning, theatrics, but
- 32:27Speaker 6: those things aren't sustainable.
- 32:28Speaker 4: But also we've got to get guys.
- 32:30Speaker 6: That are maybe not doing what we need them to
- 32:32Speaker 6: do or are not having the success we need them
- 32:34Speaker 6: to do. How can we put them in better situations?
- 32:36Speaker 6: Different spots in the lineup, different spots in games, starts, relieving,
- 32:41Speaker 6: you know, all these different things. Once it gets that
- 32:44Speaker 6: thirty game mark, I think you got an idea like, Okay,
- 32:46Speaker 6: these guys are, this is what they're kind of capable of,
- 32:49Speaker 6: not capable of, And then how I can mix and
- 32:51Speaker 6: match and do things to spark certain guys and do
- 32:54Speaker 6: something there. So I'm gonna wait and see in the
- 32:57Speaker 6: thirty game mark what the next step is. Right now,
- 33:00Speaker 6: I like the energy, I like the demeanor they're playing
- 33:04Speaker 6: with and no give up, and that's who all he
- 33:06Speaker 6: is and that's who he always will be. So they're
- 33:09Speaker 6: buying into the situation. They're doing what he's asking me
- 33:12Speaker 6: to do, which is awesome. That's always a plus. Now
- 33:15Speaker 6: it's what's he going to do to make sure these
- 33:17Speaker 6: guys keep developing?
- 33:19Speaker 4: Right?
- 33:19Speaker 6: And also how to put some of the guys that
- 33:22Speaker 6: are not doing what we want we think they're capable
- 33:24Speaker 6: of in situations to maybe spark them and spark the
- 33:28Speaker 6: team in different ways. And that stuff comes and goes
- 33:30Speaker 6: as the flow of this season. So that's going to
- 33:32Speaker 6: be what he's going to have to manage in certain
- 33:35Speaker 6: aspects this year, is giving the guys the innings and
- 33:38Speaker 6: the bats and the playing time they need, but also knowing, hey,
- 33:41Speaker 6: I can't lose clubhouse, but just keep handling in certain
- 33:44Speaker 6: spots in certain situations of people. And I got some
- 33:46Speaker 6: guys that are my guys, and I have to spark
- 33:49Speaker 6: them to give them in the best situations and get
- 33:51Speaker 6: them to where we think they need to be and
- 33:53Speaker 6: where they're going to make us better, not only now
- 33:55Speaker 6: but in the future.
- 33:57Speaker 1: So far, so good for the Cardinals. It lies ahead, well,
- 34:01Speaker 1: we're gonna have to wait and see great episode, mostly
- 34:04Speaker 1: because I think for the first time in months, we've
- 34:07Speaker 1: had three people with decent Internet connections. So thank you
- 34:11Speaker 1: for that, gentleman, Matt. Great seeing you say hi to
- 34:15Speaker 1: the family and try to be part of Cardinal territory
- 34:19Speaker 1: in the future because we miss you.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Hey do you need an hour later?
- 34:24Speaker 3: Yeah? Like, just a little adjustment is all I need. Adjustment.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Why don't we go back to noon. We'll talk about it,
- 34:32Speaker 1: we'll talk about boys. We gotta wrap up. We gotta
- 34:35Speaker 1: wrap this up because we're going far too long.
- 34:37Speaker 3: And why who cares?
- 34:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:40Speaker 4: Seven thousand, less than seven thousand, for God's sakes, all.
- 34:44Speaker 5: Right, these six thousand people are like, man, wrap it up,
- 34:46Speaker 5: you guys, wrap it up.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I'm tired of watching this.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Show they give me.
- 34:49Speaker 1: They tell me, try to make up this amount of time,
- 34:52Speaker 1: and I just.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Who says that it's too long? They're not going to
- 34:59Speaker 3: stick around, They're not going to watch.
- 35:01Speaker 1: They probably would say keep going. But to be honest,
- 35:04Speaker 1: I have things to do and I didn't want to.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Oh there it is.
- 35:08Speaker 4: It takes me more than thirty minutes to get loose,
- 35:10Speaker 4: So we're killing.
- 35:10Speaker 3: That's right, We were just getting there.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Yeah, then all right, so well this is we'll call
- 35:15Speaker 1: it bonus coverage. Now, what do you are you comfortable
- 35:18Speaker 1: with with noon Central times?
- 35:22Speaker 3: Here? Twelve twelve thirty would be better?
- 35:27Speaker 4: Me too. I can do no drop off.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Who was it that made us put it earlier?
- 35:32Speaker 4: Me?
- 35:32Speaker 6: Because I drop off at a certain time mid day
- 35:36Speaker 6: every day.
- 35:36Speaker 4: So that's wrong.
- 35:38Speaker 2: So will that word for you?
- 35:40Speaker 4: I retired to be a dad, and not deal with
- 35:42Speaker 4: your ship.
- 35:43Speaker 8: Jane.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think like yeah, I look, pickleball is
- 35:48Speaker 3: slightly ahead of foul territories. So if you're.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Cutting in the mart, well, this is cardinal territory, and
- 35:57Speaker 1: you said foul territory.
- 35:58Speaker 3: That's the I'm just reading the top. I'm right in
- 36:00Speaker 3: the top thing on the left.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Sorry, we're gonna war.
- 36:06Speaker 3: In the shirt as far as I know. So that's
- 36:09Speaker 3: what did you? Okay, all right, it's nice march.
- 36:16Speaker 1: All right, gentlemen, So we're gonna move the time. That's
- 36:19Speaker 1: breaking news for all the subscribers. Not seven thousand, but
- 36:22Speaker 1: now they know we're gonna we're gonna change.
- 36:27Speaker 2: No, it's not, but we could do that.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Do you want to put it live?
- 36:30Speaker 2: Do you want to put it live?
- 36:31Speaker 3: Sometimes they don't care.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Don't forget you.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Yeah, with all the respect, no one cares what time
- 36:37Speaker 5: we do it because they're not watching it live unless
- 36:40Speaker 5: we do it live, and then they probably still will.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Because all due respect, though, if we do it earlier,
- 36:45Speaker 1: it can be posted earlier, and you know they're watching
- 36:47Speaker 1: their phone, their left up. Hey what are they posting
- 36:50Speaker 1: today's episode?
- 36:51Speaker 3: Fair enough?
- 36:53Speaker 2: Fair enough, gentlemen.
- 36:54Speaker 4: You were great.
- 36:55Speaker 1: I like to think that that bonus coverage will get
- 36:57Speaker 1: us to seven thousand subscribers. It's going to do it
- 37:00Speaker 1: for this edition of Cardinal Territory. Thanks for watching. We'll
- 37:03Speaker 1: see you next time. Hopefully Matt will be with us,
