- 0:16Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle. Good morning everybody. Yes,
- 0:25Speaker 3: another week, April six on a Monday.
- 0:31Speaker 1: We start the show Monday morning. Waking up early, wake
- 0:37Speaker 1: up early all the time. Anyway, so the whole crowd
- 0:40Speaker 1: is here, Cono.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Good morning. Now you're dress Yeah, you're dressed differently, aren't
- 0:45Speaker 3: You got.
- 0:46Speaker 4: A blue jacket instead of a black jacket?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Good point just for you. Yeah, well it worked. I'm
- 0:51Speaker 1: very excited that you are wearing blue.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Good morning, hel.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Good morning, Happy Monday.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Yes, it is.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Happy Monday, although I don't know how many people think
- 1:02Speaker 1: it's happy Monday, but so be it. Yes, big thumbs up,
- 1:08Speaker 1: all right, Cono UCLA No, no, I'm sorry, will UCLA
- 1:13Speaker 1: T shirt? Yeah, UCLA women. The ladies were winning the
- 1:17Speaker 1: national championship. Yeah, lopsided, very very lopsided. Yeah, and they won.
- 1:23Speaker 1: First time they won women?
- 1:26Speaker 4: Is it nineteen seventy eight.
- 1:28Speaker 3: It's pretty close.
- 1:29Speaker 2: It's the first NCAA champions.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And it's that most of the women weren't even born
- 1:36Speaker 1: the last time they they won, all of that would
- 1:40Speaker 1: be all of them.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Well there you are. Yeah, all the women weren't born
- 1:45Speaker 3: fair enough. And Amy, good morning, Hi Bill, And there's Anne.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Good morning, Ann, Good morning.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Anne was just talking about having been at SOFI for
- 1:58Speaker 1: the Kanye West Ye concert. Yeah, whatever did you say?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Eighty seven seven thousand people were there on Friday night?
- 2:09Speaker 5: And how many I had Hitler mustaches that you put on.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Let's just say it was a real joy getting out
- 2:16Speaker 5: of that place. I bet nazi Nazi uniform the well,
- 2:21Speaker 5: just eighty seven thousand people leaving all at once.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, singing and all the music Deutsche land Uberlas. You know,
- 2:27Speaker 1: there's a lot to be done.
- 2:29Speaker 4: What it takes a long time, them checking your papers
- 2:32Speaker 4: looking for the yellow star.
- 2:34Speaker 1: That yeah, that's true. Nobody in Yamaica is I'll tell
- 2:37Speaker 1: you that that didn't happen. No and no, and a
- 2:42Speaker 1: lot of stars of David's were hammered into crosses, people
- 2:46Speaker 1: wearing them.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Okay, what else he's doing on?
- 2:50Speaker 4: Sorry? Come on?
- 2:56Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, that's the you that tends to stay.
- 3:00Speaker 4: You hold a grudge.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, those damn Jews, right, they just hold that grudge.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You know.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Hey, I love Hitler I know that is that's a problem.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Amazed at what you can get away with and what
- 3:12Speaker 4: other people can't get away with. On how you can
- 3:15Speaker 4: spread hate or say something you know, mild and somebody
- 3:20Speaker 4: go that's racist, but you can go balls to the
- 3:24Speaker 4: wall when it comes to Jews and it's totally, totally
- 3:28Speaker 4: a okay.
- 3:29Speaker 3: It's because everybody hates the Jews.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Tom Leikas who used to be on KFI, if that
- 3:33Speaker 1: name is at all familiar to you, when KFI flipped
- 3:37Speaker 1: into a talk format, this was nineteen eighty nine and
- 3:41Speaker 1: he was there. He was the afternoon guy, and he
- 3:44Speaker 1: was real supporter of women, Yeah, real supporter of women. Anyway,
- 3:48Speaker 1: he was the well he switched, he reinvented himself. He
- 3:51Speaker 1: was regular talk show host and he became this missage.
- 3:53Speaker 4: He was a great political u and then he switched
- 3:58Speaker 4: one of the best.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Yeah, then he switched over.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Anyway, came that stupid flash Friday business.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I was, yeah, So in any case, I just started
- 4:07Speaker 1: doing talk, general talk. So I went to him and
- 4:11Speaker 1: I said, how do you. He gave me two pieces
- 4:13Speaker 1: of advice that were good, and then he gave me
- 4:16Speaker 1: a great piece of advice not so good.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Okay. First of all, ge Tom, how do you get
- 4:21Speaker 3: so good?
- 4:21Speaker 1: Because he was the guy, you know, those of us
- 4:24Speaker 1: who had just started looked at him and he was
- 4:26Speaker 1: a deity. And he said, you know, Malcolm gladwell, just
- 4:31Speaker 1: do as many hours you can. A thousand hours from now,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you'll be that much better. Five thousand hours you'll be
- 4:36Speaker 1: that much better. It's just it's a question the hours
- 4:40Speaker 1: behind the mic.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Okay, fair enough.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And then he said, always, always, always go against management.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Fight management.
- 4:50Speaker 1: If they say AU, say B, even if you agree
- 4:53Speaker 1: with A. He got tossed out of here, by the way.
- 4:56Speaker 1: He was fired for doing stuff like that. And then
- 4:59Speaker 1: he told me the best place. Overnights are a disaster
- 5:03Speaker 1: anywhere in the country if you're doing talk because nobody
- 5:07Speaker 1: calls on overnight except in Miami. In Miami, if you
- 5:13Speaker 1: get the overnights and no one is calling, all you
- 5:16Speaker 1: have to say is I think Hitler was misunderstood, and
- 5:21Speaker 1: the lines explode and you have an all nighter ready
- 5:26Speaker 1: to go. Okay, do you guys ready to do it?
- 5:33Speaker 3: It's time. We have news. Of course, we have news.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Let's do it. Handle on the news, Amy Neil and
- 5:38Speaker 3: me lead story. Well, effective tomorrow night. The president is
- 5:45Speaker 3: threatening hell if the strait of.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Horror moves is not opened. Just being reported that the
- 5:54Speaker 1: Republic of Iran has said no, they are not caving in.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I think it was the Pakistan who produces fifteen point
- 6:04Speaker 1: peace plan and not a chance. Iran said no, and
- 6:07Speaker 1: the president. This is what I really enjoy about the President.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I mean, he was throwing f bombs on his truth
- 6:15Speaker 1: social and the reason I like it is because it
- 6:19Speaker 1: shows he's a regular guy.
- 6:21Speaker 3: You know, f you if you don't come to the table.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And that's why I think he's so popular among so
- 6:26Speaker 1: many people is just you know, he talks the way
- 6:30Speaker 1: we do.
- 6:31Speaker 4: I did see a very funny post that had like
- 6:35Speaker 4: eight different presidential quotes that were all very presidential and
- 6:40Speaker 4: then yes and then I had Trump's at the very end,
- 6:44Speaker 4: and yeah, maybe some people like that, but I like it.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I think it's great for me.
- 6:48Speaker 1: That's I think that's how you connect to people in
- 6:51Speaker 1: a way that most presidents do not, because there is
- 6:54Speaker 1: presidential speak, like there is cop speak deceased who this
- 6:59Speaker 1: says we found them de ceased, he's dead.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Or neutralized we did neutralize.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I love that one and then corporate speak,
- 7:07Speaker 1: the safety of our customers is our primary concern.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Leave me alone.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Synergy in any case.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Now we're going to find out whether this is going
- 7:19Speaker 1: to happen or not, because if it turns out that
- 7:22Speaker 1: the United States is going to bomb Iran, we're talking
- 7:26Speaker 1: about their power infrastructure, their oil production infrastructure. This is
- 7:33Speaker 1: going to be a very big week. And Israel is
- 7:37Speaker 1: also going to be part and parcel of it. All right,
- 7:42Speaker 1: let's do one more amy.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And ceasefire proposal Apparently on the table. Iran and the
- 7:49Speaker 2: US have received a plan to end hostilities. It would
- 7:54Speaker 2: theoretically go in into effect today and reopen the Strait
- 7:57Speaker 2: of Hormus. And as Bill mentioned, they said no. Iran
- 8:01Speaker 2: said uh huh, And they basically said they don't want
- 8:04Speaker 2: to cease fire, they want a permanent end to the fighting.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And then there are sources now saying that President Trump
- 8:11Speaker 2: hasn't signed off on it either. But it was Egypt, Pakistan,
- 8:14Speaker 2: and what was the other country, Turkey that presented this ceasefire.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's a big no right now because what
- 8:23Speaker 1: you Ran is asking for, uh is rebuilding Iran with
- 8:29Speaker 1: international money, mainly American money. Rebuilding all the infrastructure. The
- 8:34Speaker 1: Straight of Horn moves becomes a toll booth where Iran controls,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and we'll charge. We'll charge ships going through all of
- 8:44Speaker 1: the American bases in the Mideast to be dismantled.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And it's ain't going to happen. So we'll see.
- 8:51Speaker 1: We'll see. Is the President going to move his deadline again?
- 8:55Speaker 1: Does he keeps keep on moving the goalposts? We'll see.
- 8:59Speaker 1: There's a point, and I think that this sounds like
- 9:02Speaker 1: the President has reached the end of his rope and
- 9:06Speaker 1: he is going to do it. If he does, man,
- 9:08Speaker 1: is the world going to explode economically, to say the least.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Okay, take a break.
- 9:13Speaker 1: We'll come back and actually have some good news, okay, Amy,
- 9:16Speaker 1: And they can't find newsroom.
- 9:20Speaker 2: The two pilots shot down in the skies over Iran
- 9:24Speaker 2: have now been rescued. The second was rescued yesterday. Writers
- 9:29Speaker 2: are going to keep.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Writing great music there because I know there's a lot
- 9:34Speaker 4: of controversy around what's going on in the Middle East,
- 9:37Speaker 4: but I still love when America goes in there and
- 9:41Speaker 4: protects their people. So the US military and CIA coordinated
- 9:46Speaker 4: very high stakes mission. Seems they safely rescued the missing
- 9:50Speaker 4: crew member of the fighter jet that was shot down
- 9:53Speaker 4: over Iran. So, you know, this pretty dramatic, and if
- 10:00Speaker 4: it didn't go the right way, it could have been
- 10:03Speaker 4: not only a political catastrophe, but also could have escalated
- 10:08Speaker 4: things if we had a prisoner of war out there
- 10:10Speaker 4: and could have shown this shows you how good the
- 10:13Speaker 4: military is. Our military. Yeah, I just you know, the
- 10:16Speaker 4: surgical strike. I'm sure intensive and all of those things, but.
- 10:20Speaker 1: You know, the thought that someone stranded, as the President said,
- 10:26Speaker 1: we do have the best military in the world, He's
- 10:28Speaker 1: absolutely right. I thought the guy was going to get caught.
- 10:31Speaker 1: You had the whole country looking for him. They were
- 10:35Speaker 1: putting bounties out sixty thousand.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Dollars, a very special prize.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I think they called it, yes, a special prize, and
- 10:43Speaker 1: they declared a victory your I don't know how they
- 10:47Speaker 1: spun it, but the state broadcast system somehow described it
- 10:52Speaker 1: as a victory for a run.
- 10:54Speaker 4: He said, we finally got the White Devil out of
- 10:57Speaker 4: our cost.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I think it had to I think it had to
- 10:59Speaker 1: do with how many planes were destroyed, and there was
- 11:03Speaker 1: and the pilots were wounded and anyway, Okay.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Can I just plug my podcast for a second. We
- 11:12Speaker 2: talked to Peter Harralumbus about this this morning as more
- 11:16Speaker 2: details are coming out about it, and he had some
- 11:19Speaker 2: really really interesting stuff like what the pilot did, how
- 11:23Speaker 2: he climbed a mountain and hid and he was gone
- 11:27Speaker 2: for like thirty hours, and how we used what appeared
- 11:31Speaker 2: to be a makeshift landing strip and then our C
- 11:35Speaker 2: one thirty got stuck in the sand. Yeah, we had
- 11:38Speaker 2: to go back and blow it up with helicopters inside.
- 11:42Speaker 3: It's just it is a crazy story.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're learning how did they find him because
- 11:48Speaker 1: they knew he had started right from the time that
- 11:51Speaker 1: he had parachuted out. They had communications with him. And
- 11:56Speaker 1: it's super duper secret CIA equipment that was able to
- 12:02Speaker 1: be used.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I tell you we do have the best military out there.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Peace during war. Pope Leo the fourteenth uses Easter speech
- 12:16Speaker 2: on Sunday. It was his first one is Pope to
- 12:18Speaker 2: deliver a resounding call for peace. He said, let those
- 12:21Speaker 2: who have weapons lay them down. Let those who have
- 12:24Speaker 2: the power to unleash wars choose peace. Leo went on
- 12:28Speaker 2: to say, not a piece imposed by force, but through dialogue.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Fifty thousand people in Saint Peter's Square and the and
- 12:39Speaker 1: the Pope announced the biggest Easter egg hunt that has
- 12:44Speaker 1: ever happened, as people were scrambling for Easter eggs.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how it got the Vatican's riches in each
- 12:53Speaker 4: of the eggs.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yes, and little sayings that were in the eggs.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Chocolate eggs today are so expensive.
- 13:03Speaker 4: And they have no chocolate in them.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and they're still expensive, all.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Right, Savannah gut three, What a crazy I couldn't even
- 13:12Speaker 4: imagine going back to such a public job. She showed
- 13:17Speaker 4: us her grief, her desperation, her mother, Nancy vanishing two
- 13:22Speaker 4: months ago, and it's said that she is now showing
- 13:26Speaker 4: her resolve as she went back to the Today Show
- 13:31Speaker 4: and her first time hosting this again since her mind.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I don't think she meant.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I don't think she mentioned her mom. Did She went
- 13:39Speaker 1: straight ahead with the show.
- 13:41Speaker 4: I think the only thing she said it's good to
- 13:45Speaker 4: be home. I think she made some comment about ready
- 13:49Speaker 4: or not let's go to the news. She was wearing yellow,
- 13:52Speaker 4: which traditionally traditionally is you know, tie a yellow ribbon
- 13:56Speaker 4: around the old oak tree. People that are missing or
- 13:59Speaker 4: that you want to come home home, but you know her, she.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Went right to work.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I would imagine some sense of normalcy in all
- 14:08Speaker 2: of this craziness is going to be, and it's.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Going to happen over the next two days. It will
- 14:12Speaker 1: be she goes back down. It just goes back to
- 14:15Speaker 1: normal as if it didn't happen. Because the longer this
- 14:19Speaker 1: is longer than Nancy's missing, the more she's going to
- 14:23Speaker 1: simply have to reconcile with the fact that Mom's never
- 14:25Speaker 1: coming home.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I think y'all don't have any suspects.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I think she's already there. You know, clearly most
- 14:32Speaker 1: of us are. And two issues. I don't know if
- 14:35Speaker 1: they're going to fine Nancy at some point, someone will,
- 14:38Speaker 1: And the suspects, I don't know. I think that I
- 14:42Speaker 1: don't know if they have DNA even well, no, I
- 14:47Speaker 1: think they do. It's not in any base out there.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It's not in any DNA base. I think, yeah, all right,
- 14:54Speaker 1: let's do one more and then we'll bail.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Out of here.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Even if you buy, you may not be able to fly.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Jet Fuel prices are skyrocketing, you know, they were up
- 15:05Speaker 2: near nearly one hundred dollars from the end of February
- 15:12Speaker 2: till now, and they're reaching one hundred and ninety five
- 15:15Speaker 2: dollars for jet fuel, getting harder to come by for
- 15:18Speaker 2: countries and so they're having to ration, and they're saying
- 15:22Speaker 2: that some airports overseas are saying we're prioritizing medical and
- 15:28Speaker 2: long haul flights, so they're actually canceling some flights. So
- 15:32Speaker 2: even if you have a ticket, your flight may not
- 15:34Speaker 2: be going.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So the TSA that is situation is now it's going
- 15:40Speaker 1: to reverse itself. There'll be plenty of TSA agents. Then
- 15:44Speaker 1: there'll be no passengers and they.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Are all the flights are canceled.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much it's going to get brutal, especially if
- 15:50Speaker 1: this attack happens. And if attack, if the attack happens,
- 15:54Speaker 1: what is it to night midnight that the President said,
- 15:57Speaker 1: if the straight up horor moves has not opened up,
- 16:00Speaker 1: we go to war, and it's full blast war, except
- 16:03Speaker 1: we're talking about wiping out or he's talking about wiping
- 16:07Speaker 1: out all the infrastructure is at oil infrastructure. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 1: pretty much straight out hitting civilian targets and these are
- 16:17Speaker 1: certainly civilian targets. You know, Well, we'll see what happened tonight.
- 16:23Speaker 1: It's going to be very very interesting.
- 16:26Speaker 4: What a crazy story if you're going to watch, if
- 16:28Speaker 4: you're going to have a kid, watch them. Eighteen month
- 16:31Speaker 4: old reached this parked perimeter at the Zoo America in Pennsylvania,
- 16:38Speaker 4: in the wolf enclosure there and made their way into
- 16:43Speaker 4: the wolf's primary metal enclosure that's supposed to be protected.
- 16:48Speaker 4: But the child reached their hand through the barrier. A
- 16:52Speaker 4: wolf approached because well, they're a wolf and someone's coming
- 16:56Speaker 4: into their home and they're going, hey, who are you?
- 16:58Speaker 4: Sniff sniff the the totally normal the exchange. The wolf
- 17:05Speaker 4: was just curious. Nothing happened, just normal natural animal behavior,
- 17:12Speaker 4: no side of aggression.
- 17:14Speaker 3: But I think the kid got bid, but not very hard.
- 17:20Speaker 4: It says at no point was the top toddler inside
- 17:23Speaker 4: the wolf's actual enclosure. And you know, to describe the
- 17:29Speaker 4: little nip or whatever said that they were minor nothing.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the big story is how do parents
- 17:37Speaker 1: let a toddler go into a wolf enclosure? That says
- 17:42Speaker 1: a lot about parenting or just not paying attention for
- 17:44Speaker 1: a moment, I mean with a kid.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I remember when my.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Kids are two, I looked away for a second and
- 17:51Speaker 1: all of a sudden, I look back and gone.
- 17:55Speaker 4: What were you looking at? Was it a squirrel that
- 17:59Speaker 4: distracted you?
- 18:00Speaker 3: Oh that's very funny. I don't even remember.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I have no idea, but I remember that disappearing just okay,
- 18:06Speaker 1: completely gone. So you know, parings panic with that, and
- 18:10Speaker 1: so you know if something had happened to the kid,
- 18:14Speaker 1: I well, it wouldn't have been in a horrible situation. Okay,
- 18:19Speaker 1: moving on, what of you?
- 18:22Speaker 2: The Artemis astronauts have taken in sights of the Moon
- 18:26Speaker 2: that have never before been seen by human eyes. NASA
- 18:31Speaker 2: pushed out an image yesterday taken by the Artemis crew
- 18:34Speaker 2: showing a distant Moon with the orientail bas invisible. It's
- 18:38Speaker 2: known as the Moon's Grand Canyon, and there have been
- 18:41Speaker 2: pictures of it before, but human eyes haven't seen it before.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Why is that a big deal.
- 18:47Speaker 1: They have pictures of it, and so now someone's looking
- 18:50Speaker 1: at it and they're seeing the same thing that pictures.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Of Okay, why are wait a second, We have a
- 18:57Speaker 4: grand canyon here too that people visit all all the time,
- 19:00Speaker 4: and you've got pictures of it everywhere. This is the Moon.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but it doesn't cost It doesn't cost forty billion
- 19:07Speaker 1: dollars to have people look down at the Grand Canyon
- 19:11Speaker 1: in person.
- 19:12Speaker 4: But if it did, you'd take a picture and you'd
- 19:14Speaker 4: show everybody.
- 19:15Speaker 1: No, I wouldn't, I would take I would buy the
- 19:18Speaker 1: postcard that's already been been produced. Also, the other thing is,
- 19:24Speaker 1: you know they talk about going to Mars, So what
- 19:27Speaker 1: you're going to see an empty planet with red dust
- 19:30Speaker 1: and no no atmosphere. And you know, clearly, if there
- 19:34Speaker 1: is life, it'll be some kind of a meba or
- 19:37Speaker 1: single cell creature that's you know, below the surface. And
- 19:42Speaker 1: you know, what's this big, huge search for life somewhere
- 19:47Speaker 1: out on some outer planet around some outer galaxy. You know,
- 19:51Speaker 1: do you care if some giant cockroach is out there
- 19:55Speaker 1: and walking around? I don't as certainly, I don't want
- 19:59Speaker 1: to spend a kind of money that it that we're looking,
- 20:01Speaker 1: uh looking at spending.
- 20:03Speaker 4: They're looking for places to send the homeless. Oh yeah, Mars,
- 20:07Speaker 4: Yeah for sure. But it's just a huge amount.
- 20:11Speaker 1: It's a huge amount of money to find out if
- 20:15Speaker 1: life exists somewhere out there.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I mean, so what so what, Oh, yeah, life exists.
- 20:23Speaker 4: We haven't even figured out if life exists here yet.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of the amount of money
- 20:28Speaker 1: that we're spending for some very stoic reasons.
- 20:31Speaker 4: What a downer you done?
- 20:37Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, you're doing the story.
- 20:39Speaker 1: But actually, you know what, Amy, you can go ahead
- 20:42Speaker 1: and do that, Okay.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Jackie in Shadow are proud new parents. Both of the
- 20:50Speaker 2: eaglets hatched over the weekend, So the first one came
- 20:54Speaker 2: out yesterday or Saturday, and then by yesterday afternoon, baby
- 20:59Speaker 2: number two was all the way out. And they're up
- 21:02Speaker 2: and they're bobbing around and looking completely awkward and uncoordinated
- 21:07Speaker 2: and adorable, and the feedings have begun.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Do you think they're going to name them after the
- 21:14Speaker 4: after Sandy Sandy?
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Sandy Steers is the one who she was really
- 21:18Speaker 2: responsible for getting that camera up in the in the
- 21:21Speaker 2: nest years ago, and she recently passed away. So yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 2: there's a lot of talk about that.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Third graders at a school in Big Bear are gonna
- 21:29Speaker 1: actually name the little eaglets.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Which is interesting because because of the push to name
- 21:36Speaker 2: them Sandy and Steers, and the kids are the ones
- 21:40Speaker 2: who actually do it. But do the kids understand Sandy Steers.
- 21:43Speaker 4: No, they're going to try and name them six seven?
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and what if they name them Adolph and Eva,
- 21:49Speaker 1: what do you do with that?
- 21:50Speaker 2: They're not going to name them Adolph and Eva.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I would day, because it's just those are great names.
- 21:58Speaker 1: They flow right off the tongue.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Okay, okay, remember the movie Cocaine Bear. How about cocaine shark.
- 22:08Speaker 2: A new study shows that sharks in the Bahamas have
- 22:11Speaker 2: tested positive for cocaine and caffeine and other substances. According
- 22:18Speaker 2: to Science Direct, things like cocaine and painkillers are being
- 22:21Speaker 2: found in marine environments, especially in tourism driven areas. So
- 22:26Speaker 2: they looked at eighty two sharks. Twenty three of them
- 22:30Speaker 2: had four different things in acet of metaphine, diclofenac. Not
- 22:35Speaker 2: sure what that is, cocaine, and caffeine.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Okay, A couple questions.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Number one, I don't know if you've ever done cocaine,
- 22:42Speaker 1: but it dissipates in water, so I have no idea
- 22:44Speaker 1: how these sharks can snort cocaine.
- 22:47Speaker 4: It's very very difficult. I don't know they're snorting it.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Oh this personal story, okay, I'm just going back to
- 22:55Speaker 1: what I.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Was funny as a lawyer, you'd be a shark on
- 22:59Speaker 4: cocoa caine too.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Oh, very good. I well, it is very strong and
- 23:03Speaker 1: I was a shark. Well I still am, but I
- 23:07Speaker 1: did a lot of cocaine.
- 23:08Speaker 3: In those days.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Also, since a seed of metaphin was found, you've got
- 23:13Speaker 1: some autistic sharks out there.
- 23:15Speaker 3: So there's some big problems in the world for sure.
- 23:18Speaker 4: That's how I like my apex predators popped up on cocaine.
- 23:22Speaker 3: You bet all right, Yay Boom.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Pepsi withdrew its sponsor sponsorship of London's Wireless Festival after
- 23:32Speaker 4: Yay formerly known as Kanye, was announced as the three
- 23:37Speaker 4: day headliners. So a lot of criticism going their way
- 23:41Speaker 4: because the anti anti semitism remarks, anti Semitic remarks, and
- 23:48Speaker 4: so people are like, why the hell is he getting,
- 23:52Speaker 4: you know, to headline this. People are being dropped left
- 23:56Speaker 4: and right and canceled for much less.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he really went nuts on anti semitic remarks. He
- 24:03Speaker 1: even offered to light his hair on fire for the concert.
- 24:09Speaker 1: That's say Michael Jackson joke in a Pepsi joke. Pepsi
- 24:13Speaker 1: see Pepsi sponsor.
- 24:16Speaker 4: It was a long walk around for that.
- 24:18Speaker 1: It was a long walk around and also sponsored by
- 24:22Speaker 1: the Hawaiian Tourist Board. Because Michael Jackson became a tiki
- 24:25Speaker 1: torch at that commercial.
- 24:30Speaker 3: That's a long story.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I mean, it's just putting all the you know, all
- 24:34Speaker 1: the dots together was kind of hard.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Sixty minutes. Correspondent says he wouldn't do it for another minute.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Steve Croft retired after three decades at sixty minutes. He
- 24:49Speaker 2: did about five hundred stories. He told Bill O'Reilly that
- 24:54Speaker 2: he hated his job because of its relentless pace and
- 24:57Speaker 2: cutthroat atmosphere. He said, the job is twenty four hours
- 25:00Speaker 2: a day. He says, you get a couple hours of
- 25:02Speaker 2: bad sleep. Beepers are going off, you're getting on jets,
- 25:05Speaker 2: you're going here, you're going there, the whole thing. Then
- 25:07Speaker 2: you come back and then you spend hours and days
- 25:10Speaker 2: writing the script, and then you go on the screenings,
- 25:13Speaker 2: and then it starts all over again.
- 25:14Speaker 1: You know. And every time I see a sixty minute
- 25:16Speaker 1: segment where they go to the far reaches of the world.
- 25:20Speaker 1: They're going to Antarctica, they're going in the depths of Africa,
- 25:23Speaker 1: you go, Wow, what a great job. Look at all
- 25:26Speaker 1: the places they go, and it turns out to be
- 25:28Speaker 1: not so great a job. Okay, this was a huge deal.
- 25:34Speaker 4: You have UCLA wins its first NCUBA women's basketball championship.
- 25:40Speaker 4: It defeated South Carolina handily, and Gabriella Jaquez is it,
- 25:48Speaker 4: jackauzad hawkez hawk has thanks correct, thanks. They deserve to
- 25:54Speaker 4: have their names pronounced properly. In Lauren Betts the rest
- 25:57Speaker 4: of the CLA seniors secure the first NCAA women's basketball
- 26:02Speaker 4: national championship in school history. Pretty huge, That is huge,
- 26:09Speaker 4: huge congratulations.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Are they going to have one of those massive parades
- 26:14Speaker 1: like they do when the NBA wins.
- 26:17Speaker 2: They're not having a parade, but they're having a celebration
- 26:20Speaker 2: at Polly Pavilion on campus on Wednesday.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Well, a small catered event that thirty people will be
- 26:26Speaker 1: invited to.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Well, I think a few more.
- 26:28Speaker 1: It's at poly Pavilion, Okay, Well, you can rent breakout
- 26:31Speaker 1: rooms at Polly. I mean the point I'm making is
- 26:34Speaker 1: when you have a male team, when the Lakers win,
- 26:38Speaker 1: it's a parade down Broadway where hundreds of thousands of
- 26:42Speaker 1: people show up. And you would think that women's basketball,
- 26:46Speaker 1: even though it is growing pretty rapidly, would come close.
- 26:49Speaker 1: It is not, and it will it will at some point.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Well and it should, okay, yeah, even though I mean letting.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Women pay play professional sports.
- 27:01Speaker 1: There's another one, which I mean, come on, guys, all right,
- 27:05Speaker 1: we are done coming up the race against time to
- 27:09Speaker 1: find that down to US airmen in around. Boy, what
- 27:13Speaker 1: a success that was. And then tonight at midnight does
- 27:17Speaker 1: the war really ratchet up? Talk about all of that
- 27:21Speaker 1: when we come back. KFI AM sixty.
