  Today's
• 1:56
  episode
• 1:56
  here
• 1:57
  is
• 1:58
  a
• 1:58
  little
• 1:58
  different
• 1:58
  because
• 1:59
  I
• 1:59
  was
• 1:59
  talking
• 2:00
  with
• 2:00
  my
• 2:00
  buddy
• 2:00
  Corbin
• 2:01
  Clay.
• 2:01
  He
• 2:01
  is
• 2:02
  actually
• 2:03
  the
• 2:03
  administrator,
• 2:04
  the
• 2:04
  founder

• 2:06
  of

• 2:07
  a
• 2:07
  Cabinet
• 2:07
  Maker
• 2:08
  group.
• 2:09
  And
• 2:09
  him
• 2:10
  and
• 2:10
  I
• 2:10
  are
• 2:10
  always
• 2:11
  messaging
• 2:11
  back
• 2:11
  and
• 2:12
  forth
• 2:12
  about
• 2:13
  how
• 2:13
  so
• 2:14
  many
• 2:14
  issues
• 2:15
  with
• 2:15
  homeowners
• 2:15
  that
• 2:16
  are
• 2:16
  working
• 2:16
  with
• 2:16
  custom

  cabinet
• 2:17
  shops
• 2:17
  or
• 2:18
  cabinet
• 2:18
  shops
• 2:18
  out
• 2:18
  there
• 2:19
  that
• 2:19
  are
• 2:19
  building
• 2:19
  cabinetry
• 2:20
  and
• 2:20
  the
• 2:20
  same
• 2:21
  mistakes
• 2:22
  happen
• 2:23
  every
• 2:23
  single
• 2:23
  time.
• 2:24
  You
• 2:24
  can
• 2:25
  see
• 2:25
  it
• 2:25
  over
• 2:25
  and
• 2:25
  over
• 2:26
  again.
• 2:26
  And
• 2:26
  I
• 2:26
  said,
• 2:27
  I
• 2:27
  think
• 2:27
  I'm
• 2:27
  going
• 2:27
  to
• 2:27
  create
• 2:27
  my
• 2:28
  top
• 2:28
  10
• 2:28
  commandments
• 2:29
  of
• 2:29
  buying
• 2:30
  cabinetry
• 2:31
  for
• 2:31
  your
• 2:31
  home.
• 2:31
  What
• 2:31
  are
• 2:31
  the
• 2:32
  top
• 2:32
  10
• 2:33
  big
• 2:33
  mistakes
• 2:34
  that
• 2:34
  people
• 2:34
  make
• 2:35
  and
• 2:36
  really
• 2:36
  how
• 2:36
  do
• 2:37
  you
• 2:37
  prevent
• 2:37
  these
• 2:37
  from
• 2:38
  happening?
• 2:38
  So
• 2:38
  I
• 2:38
  thought
• 2:38
  let's
• 2:39
  dive
• 2:39
  into
• 2:39
  that
• 2:39
  today.
• 2:40
  Let's
• 2:40
  talk
• 2:40
  about
• 2:40
  the
• 2:40
  top
• 2:41
  ten
• 2:41
  commandments
• 2:42
  for
• 2:42
  me
• 2:42
  because
• 2:43
  I've
• 2:43
  been
• 2:43
  doing
• 2:43
  cabinetry
• 2:44
  for
• 2:44
  about
• 2:44
  35
• 2:45
  years
• 2:45
  as
• 2:45
  a
• 2:46
  kitchen
• 2:46
  and
• 2:46
  bath
• 2:46
  designer.
• 2:47
  I've
• 2:47
  done
• 2:48
  everything
• 2:48
  from
• 2:50
  really
• 2:50
  just
• 2:51
  designing
• 2:52
  kitchens
• 2:52
  and
• 2:52
  bathrooms
• 2:53
  to
• 2:53
  running
• 2:54
  cabinet
• 2:54
  shops
• 2:55
  to
• 2:55
  everything
• 2:55
  else
• 2:56
  out
• 2:56
  there
• 2:56
  from
• 2:57
  working
• 2:57
  with
• 2:57
  major
• 2:58
  manufacturers
• 2:59
  like
• 2:59
  craft
• 3:00
  made
• 3:00
  or
• 3:00
  wellborn
• 3:01
  to
• 3:02
  that
• 3:02
  local
• 3:02
  small
• 3:02
  custom
• 3:03
  cabinet
• 3:03
  shop.
• 3:04
  And
• 3:04
  so
• 3:04
  I've
• 3:04
  seen
• 3:05
  all
• 3:05
  different
• 3:05
  sides
• 3:06
  of
• 3:06
  this,
• 3:06
  from
• 3:06
  entry
• 3:07
  level
• 3:07
  to
• 3:07
  high
• 3:07
  end
• 3:08
  customers,
• 3:09
  brands
• 3:09
  that
• 3:09
  you've
• 3:09
  seen
• 3:10
  in
• 3:10
  Architectural
• 3:11
  Digest.
• 3:12
  So
• 3:12
  I
• 3:12
  thought,
• 3:12
  hey,
• 3:12
  let's
• 3:13
  download
• 3:13
  some
• 3:13
  of
• 3:13
  that
• 3:14
  information
• 3:14
  for
• 3:14
  you
• 3:15
  out
• 3:15
  there
• 3:15
  that
• 3:16
  maybe
• 3:16
  you're
• 3:16
  thinking
• 3:16
  about
• 3:17
  building
• 3:17
  a
• 3:17
  home
• 3:17
  or
• 3:18
  redoing
• 3:18
  a
• 3:19
  bathroom
• 3:19
  or
• 3:19
  maybe
• 3:19
  that
• 3:20
  kitchen
• 3:20
  remodel
• 3:20
  this
• 3:21
  fall.
• 3:21
  Here
• 3:22
  are
• 3:22
  some
• 3:22
  of
• 3:22
  my
• 3:22
  rules
• 3:23
  that
• 3:23
  you
• 3:23
  should
• 3:24
  be
• 3:24
  following
• 3:24
  so
• 3:25
  you
• 3:25
  don't
• 3:25
  end
• 3:25
  up
• 3:26
  like
• 3:26
  so
• 3:26
  many
• 3:26
  people
• 3:26
  in
• 3:27
  that
• 3:27
  group
• 3:27
  where
• 3:27
  they
• 3:28
  post
• 3:28
  up
• 3:29
  their
• 3:29
  problems
• 3:29
  and
• 3:30
  they
• 3:30
  got
• 3:30
  A
• 3:30
  heck
• 3:30
  of
• 3:30
  a
• 3:31
  mess
• 3:31
  going
• 3:31
  on.
• 3:32
  So
• 3:33
  first
• 3:33
  up
• 3:33
  here,
• 3:34
  hire
• 3:35
  an
• 3:35
  experienced
• 3:36
  kitchen
• 3:36
  and
• 3:36
  bath
• 3:37
  designer.
• 3:37
  This
• 3:38
  is
• 3:38
  number
• 3:38
  one.
• 3:39
  So
• 3:39
  here's
• 3:40
  the
• 3:40
  thing.
• 3:40
  First
• 3:40
  thing,
• 3:41
  you
• 3:41
  can't
• 3:42
  replace
• 3:42
  that
• 3:43
  expertise.
• 3:43
  I
• 3:44
  don't
• 3:44
  care
• 3:44
  if
• 3:44
  you've
• 3:44
  done
• 3:44
  two
• 3:44
  other
• 3:45
  remodels
• 3:45
  in
• 3:45
  your
• 3:45
  past
• 3:46
  of
• 3:47
  kitchens
• 3:47
  or
• 3:47
  bathrooms.
• 3:48
  Hiring
• 3:49
  a
• 3:49
  qualified
• 3:49
  designer,
• 3:50
  one
• 3:51
  that
• 3:51
  is
• 3:51
  certified,
• 3:51
  is
• 3:52
  even
• 3:52
  better.
• 3:52
  From
• 3:52
  the
• 3:52
  National
• 3:53
  Kitchen
• 3:53
  and
• 3:53
  Bath
• 3:53
  Association.
• 3:54
  So
• 3:54
  a
• 3:54
  certified
• 3:55
  kitchen
• 3:55
  designer
• 3:55
  like
• 3:56
  myself,
• 3:56
  or
• 3:57
  a
• 3:57
  certified
• 3:57
  kitchen
• 3:57
  and
• 3:58
  bath
• 3:58
  designer,
• 3:59
  you
• 3:59
  can
• 3:59
  find
• 3:59
  out
• 3:59
  more
• 4:00
  information
• 4:00
  about
• 4:00
  that
• 4:00
  over@nkba.org
• 4:03
  so
• 4:03
  let's
• 4:04
  skip
• 4:05
  those
• 4:05
  rookie
• 4:06
  mistakes.
• 4:06
  A
• 4:07
  good
• 4:07
  understanding
• 4:08
  of
• 4:09
  design
• 4:09
  is
• 4:09
  big,
• 4:10
  and
• 4:11
  they're
• 4:11
  going
• 4:11
  to
• 4:11
  stop
• 4:11
  those
• 4:12
  mistakes.
• 4:12
  If
• 4:13
  you
• 4:13
  sit
• 4:13
  down
• 4:14
  and
• 4:14
  drop
• 4:14
  your
• 4:15
  own
• 4:15
  kitchen,
• 4:16
  you're
• 4:16
  going
• 4:16
  to
• 4:16
  make
• 4:16
  all
• 4:17
  those
• 4:17
  mistakes
• 4:17
  that
• 4:18
  the
• 4:18
  rookie
• 4:18
  designers
• 4:19
  that
• 4:19
  went
• 4:19
  to
• 4:19
  design
• 4:20
  school
• 4:20
  for
• 4:20
  four
• 4:20
  years
• 4:21
  still
• 4:21
  made.
• 4:22
  So
• 4:22
  for
• 4:22
  me,
• 4:23
  and
• 4:23
  if
• 4:23
  you've
• 4:23
  heard
• 4:24
  me
• 4:24
  talk
• 4:24
  about
• 4:24
  cabinetry
• 4:25
  here
• 4:25
  before,
• 4:26
  a
• 4:26
  good
• 4:26
  designer
• 4:27
  takes
• 4:27
  a
• 4:27
  couple
• 4:28
  years
• 4:28
  out
• 4:28
  of
• 4:28
  design
• 4:29
  school
• 4:29
  to
• 4:30
  really
• 4:30
  get
• 4:30
  good
• 4:31
  at
• 4:31
  what
• 4:31
  they're
• 4:31
  doing.
• 4:32
  So
• 4:33
  you
• 4:33
  want
• 4:33
  that
• 4:33
  on
• 4:33
  your
• 4:34
  team.
• 4:35
  So
• 4:35
  really,
• 4:36
  you
• 4:36
  want
• 4:36
  to
• 4:37
  get
• 4:38
  everything
• 4:38
  dialed
• 4:39
  in
• 4:39
  with
• 4:39
  this
• 4:39
  designer,
• 4:40
  lean
• 4:40
  on
• 4:40
  them,
• 4:41
  have
• 4:41
  them
• 4:41
  work
• 4:41
  through
• 4:42
  the
• 4:42
  process
• 4:42
  for
• 4:42
  you,
• 4:43
  and
• 4:43
  that
• 4:44
  way
• 4:44
  you
• 4:44
  get
• 4:44
  a
• 4:45
  better
• 4:45
  end
• 4:45
  result.
• 4:45
  And
• 4:46
  I
• 4:46
  promise
• 4:46
  you,
• 4:46
  it's
• 4:47
  going
• 4:47
  to
• 4:47
  save
• 4:47
  you
• 4:47
  money
• 4:47
  in
• 4:47
  the
• 4:47
  long
• 4:48
  run
• 4:48
  because
• 4:48
  you
• 4:48
  have
• 4:48
  a
• 4:49
  budget
• 4:49
  to
• 4:49
  work
• 4:49
  with.
• 4:49
  You
• 4:50
  want
• 4:50
  to
• 4:50
  make
• 4:50
  sure
• 4:50
  everything
• 4:50
  fits.
• 4:51
  All
• 4:52
  those
• 4:52
  things
• 4:52
  going
• 4:52
  on,
• 4:53
  it's
• 4:53
  a
• 4:53
  really
• 4:54
  big
• 4:54
  deal.
• 4:55
  I've
• 4:55
  seen
• 4:55
  so
• 4:56
  many
• 4:56
  projects
• 4:56
  go
• 4:57
  south
• 4:57
  because
• 4:57
  a
• 4:57
  couple
• 4:58
  little
• 4:58
  things
• 4:58
  get
• 4:58
  missed,
• 4:59
  and
• 5:00
  that
• 5:00
  quality
• 5:00
  designer
• 5:01
  probably
• 5:01
  would
• 5:01
  have
• 5:02
  caught
• 5:02
  that
• 5:02
  and
• 5:03
  help
• 5:03
  you
• 5:03
  understand
• 5:04
  all
• 5:04
  the
• 5:04
  nuances
• 5:04
  to
• 5:05
  making
• 5:05
  this
• 5:05
  work
• 5:05
  well.
• 5:06
  So
• 5:06
  you're
• 5:06
  going
• 5:06
  to
• 5:07
  save
• 5:07
  thousands
• 5:07
  in
• 5:07
  the
• 5:07
  long
• 5:08
  run.
• 5:08
  Trust
• 5:08
  me
• 5:08
  on
• 5:08
  this
• 5:09
  one,
• 5:09
  it
• 5:09
  will
• 5:10
  pay
• 5:10
  for
• 5:10
  itself.
• 5:10
  And
• 5:10
  many
• 5:11
  times
• 5:11
  when
• 5:11
  you're
• 5:11
  working
• 5:11
  with
• 5:12
  a
• 5:12
  cabinetry
• 5:12
  company,
• 5:13
  that
• 5:13
  designer
• 5:14
  might
• 5:14
  come
• 5:14
  with
• 5:14
  it
• 5:15
  for
• 5:15
  free.
• 5:15
  They're
• 5:15
  already
• 5:16
  in
• 5:16
  the
• 5:16
  cabinet,
• 5:16
  the
• 5:17
  package
• 5:17
  price
• 5:17
  of
• 5:17
  the
• 5:17
  cabinetry.
• 5:19
  So
• 5:19
  use
• 5:19
  that
• 5:19
  experience,
• 5:20
  choose
• 5:21
  someone
• 5:21
  that
• 5:21
  knows
• 5:21
  what
• 5:21
  they're
• 5:22
  doing,
• 5:22
  and
• 5:22
  you're
• 5:23
  going
• 5:23
  to
• 5:23
  save
• 5:24
  some
• 5:24
  serious
• 5:25
  money.
• 5:25
  Now,
• 5:25
  the
• 5:25
  next
• 5:26
  one
• 5:26
  here
• 5:26
  is
• 5:26
  important,
• 5:27
  and
• 5:27
  this
• 5:28
  is
• 5:28
  number
• 5:28
  two
• 5:29
  here,
• 5:29
  and
• 5:29
  this
• 5:29
  is
• 5:30
  understanding
• 5:31
  cabinet
• 5:31
  construction.
• 5:32
  Here's
• 5:33
  the
• 5:33
  thing,
• 5:33
  not
• 5:33
  all
• 5:33
  cabinetry
• 5:34
  is
• 5:34
  created
• 5:35
  equal.
• 5:35
  You've
• 5:36
  got
• 5:36
  a
• 5:36
  face
• 5:36
  frame.
• 5:37
  You've
• 5:37
  got
• 5:37
  frameless.
• 5:38
  You
• 5:38
  got
• 5:39
  hybrid
• 5:39
  styles,
• 5:39
  you
• 5:40
  have
• 5:40
  flush
• 5:41
  inset.
• 5:42
  Each
• 5:42
  one
• 5:43
  has
• 5:43
  its
• 5:43
  pros
• 5:44
  and
• 5:44
  cons.
• 5:45
  Face
• 5:45
  frame
• 5:46
  cabinets
• 5:47
  are
• 5:47
  pretty
• 5:47
  sturdy,
• 5:48
  but
• 5:48
  you
• 5:49
  lose
• 5:49
  a
• 5:49
  lot
• 5:49
  of
• 5:49
  space
• 5:50
  in
• 5:50
  a
• 5:50
  small
• 5:50
  kitchen.
• 5:51
  Those
• 5:51
  face
• 5:51
  frames
• 5:52
  between
• 5:52
  the
• 5:52
  boxes,
• 5:53
  that
• 5:54
  traditional
• 5:54
  American
• 5:55
  face
• 5:55
  frame,
• 5:55
  you
• 5:55
  lose
• 5:56
  a
• 5:56
  lot
• 5:56
  of
• 5:56
  space.
• 5:57
  So
• 5:57
  if
• 5:57
  you
• 5:57
  have
• 5:58
  a
• 5:58
  lot
• 5:58
  of
• 5:58
  drawers,
• 5:59
  you
• 5:59
  can
• 5:59
  lose
• 6:00
  on
• 6:00
  an
• 6:00
  average
• 6:01
  kitchen.
• 6:01
  About
• 6:01
  18
• 6:02
  inches.
• 6:02
  So
• 6:02
  you
• 6:02
  could
• 6:03
  actually
• 6:04
  gain
• 6:04
  a
• 6:04
  drawer
• 6:05
  base.
• 6:06
  That's
• 6:06
  a
• 6:06
  huge
• 6:07
  deal.
• 6:07
  Why
• 6:08
  lose
• 6:08
  3
• 6:08
  inches
• 6:09
  between
• 6:09
  each
• 6:09
  cabinet
• 6:10
  when
• 6:10
  you
• 6:10
  can
• 6:10
  really
• 6:11
  get
• 6:11
  some
• 6:11
  more
• 6:11
  space?
• 6:13
  Because
• 6:13
  with
• 6:13
  a
• 6:13
  frameless
• 6:13
  cabinet,
• 6:14
  you
• 6:14
  just
• 6:14
  have
• 6:14
  that
• 6:14
  five,
• 6:15
  eight
• 6:15
  or
• 6:15
  three
• 6:15
  quarter
• 6:15
  side
• 6:16
  and
• 6:17
  so
• 6:17
  you
• 6:17
  only
• 6:17
  lose
• 6:17
  an
• 6:17
  inch
• 6:18
  and
• 6:18
  a
• 6:18
  half.
• 6:18
  So
• 6:18
  you
• 6:18
  gain
• 6:19
  an
• 6:19
  inch
• 6:19
  and
• 6:19
  a
• 6:19
  half
• 6:19
  per
• 6:20
  cabinet,
• 6:20
  basically
• 6:21
  the
• 6:21
  way
• 6:21
  it's
• 6:21
  working.
• 6:22
  So
• 6:23
  the
• 6:23
  thing
• 6:23
  with
• 6:23
  this
• 6:24
  is
• 6:24
  know
• 6:24
  what
• 6:24
  you're
• 6:24
  buying.
• 6:25
  Check
• 6:25
  the
• 6:25
  materials.
• 6:27
  Plywood
• 6:27
  vs.
• 6:28
  Particle
• 6:28
  board
• 6:29
  vs.
• 6:30
  What's
• 6:31
  the
• 6:31
  cabinetry?
• 6:32
  Box
• 6:32
  construction.
• 6:33
  Because
• 6:34
  what
• 6:34
  happens
• 6:34
  is
• 6:34
  with
• 6:34
  a
• 6:35
  frameless
• 6:35
  cabinet,
• 6:36
  the
• 6:36
  strength
• 6:37
  is
• 6:37
  in
• 6:37
  the
• 6:37
  box
• 6:37
  itself,
• 6:38
  the
• 6:38
  sides.
• 6:39
  On
• 6:40
  a
• 6:40
  face
• 6:40
  frame,
• 6:40
  most
• 6:41
  of
• 6:41
  the
• 6:41
  strength
• 6:41
  is
• 6:41
  in
• 6:42
  the
• 6:42
  face
• 6:42
  frame.
• 6:43
  So
• 6:43
  you've
• 6:43
  got
• 6:43
  different
• 6:44
  materials
• 6:44
  that
• 6:44
  are
• 6:44
  going
• 6:45
  along
• 6:45
  now.
• 6:46
  Yes,
• 6:46
  sometimes
• 6:47
  particle
• 6:47
  board
• 6:48
  will
• 6:48
  last
• 6:48
  the
• 6:48
  same
• 6:48
  as
• 6:49
  plywood
• 6:49
  if
• 6:49
  it's
• 6:49
  built
• 6:50
  correctly.
• 6:51
  But
• 6:51
  a
• 6:52
  lot
• 6:52
  of
• 6:52
  people
• 6:52
  like
• 6:52
  the
• 6:52
  plywood
• 6:54
  because
• 6:54
  there
• 6:54
  is
• 6:54
  a
• 6:55
  perceived
• 6:55
  value.
• 6:56
  The
• 6:56
  only
• 6:56
  problem
• 6:56
  with
• 6:57
  the
• 6:57
  plywood
• 6:58
  is
• 6:58
  that
• 6:58
  if
• 6:58
  you're
• 6:58
  doing
• 6:59
  frameless
• 6:59
  with
• 7:00
  plywood,
• 7:00
  you
• 7:00
  can
• 7:00
  run
• 7:00
  into
• 7:00
  some
• 7:01
  issues
• 7:01
  because
• 7:01
  that
• 7:01
  cabinetry
• 7:03
  could
• 7:03
  be.
• 7:03
  I've
• 7:04
  seen
• 7:04
  it
• 7:04
  actually
• 7:05
  add
• 7:05
  length
• 7:06
  because
• 7:06
  nobody
• 7:06
  actually
• 7:07
  mics
• 7:07
  out
• 7:07
  the
• 7:08
  width
• 7:08
  of
• 7:08
  that
• 7:08
  plywood.
• 7:09
  And
• 7:09
  a
• 7:09
  plywood
• 7:09
  that's
• 7:10
  three
• 7:10
  quarters
• 7:11
  or
• 7:11
  five,
• 7:12
  eight
• 7:12
  or
• 7:12
  half
• 7:12
  inch
• 7:13
  is
• 7:13
  not
• 7:13
  actually
• 7:13
  that
• 7:14
  dimension.
• 7:14
  It's
• 7:14
  close.
• 7:15
  It's
• 7:15
  a
• 7:15
  nominal
• 7:16
  size.
• 7:16
  If
• 7:17
  you've
• 7:17
  got
• 7:17
  a
• 7:17
  long
• 7:18
  10,
• 7:18
  12,
• 7:18
  14
• 7:19
  foot
• 7:19
  run
• 7:19
  of
• 7:19
  cabinetry
• 7:20
  you
• 7:20
  can
• 7:20
  have.
• 7:21
  If
• 7:21
  they
• 7:21
  guessed
• 7:22
  big
• 7:22
  or
• 7:22
  guessed
• 7:22
  small,
• 7:23
  you
• 7:23
  can
• 7:23
  have
• 7:24
  some
• 7:24
  creep
• 7:24
  on
• 7:24
  that.
• 7:24
  I've
• 7:25
  had
• 7:25
  cabinetry
• 7:25
  show
• 7:26
  up
• 7:26
  inch
• 7:27
  and
• 7:27
  a
• 7:27
  half,
• 7:27
  2
• 7:27
  inches
• 7:27
  longer
• 7:28
  than
• 7:28
  what
• 7:28
  I
• 7:28
  thought
• 7:28
  it
• 7:28
  was
• 7:29
  because
• 7:29
  all
• 7:30
  those
• 7:30
  sixteenths
• 7:31
  of
• 7:31
  an
• 7:31
  inch
• 7:31
  started
• 7:32
  to
• 7:32
  add
• 7:32
  up
• 7:32
  between
• 7:32
  boxes.
• 7:33
  So
• 7:33
  be
• 7:34
  careful.
• 7:34
  This
• 7:34
  is
• 7:34
  where
• 7:34
  that
• 7:35
  designer
• 7:35
  working
• 7:35
  with
• 7:36
  you
• 7:36
  is
• 7:36
  going
• 7:36
  to
• 7:37
  save
• 7:37
  you
• 7:37
  some
• 7:37
  serious
• 7:38
  money.
• 7:39
  That
• 7:39
  can
• 7:39
  save
• 7:39
  you
• 7:39
  a
• 7:40
  ton
• 7:40
  of
• 7:40
  cash.
• 7:41
  So
• 7:41
  think
• 7:42
  about
• 7:42
  that.
• 7:43
  So
• 7:43
  the
• 7:44
  cabinetry
• 7:44
  construction
• 7:45
  is
• 7:45
  always
• 7:45
  the
• 7:45
  backbone
• 7:46
  of
• 7:46
  that
• 7:46
  whole
• 7:47
  kitchen
• 7:47
  or
• 7:47
  bathroom.
• 7:48
  So
• 7:49
  don't
• 7:49
  go
• 7:49
  on
• 7:49
  flimsy.
• 7:50
  And
• 7:50
  that's
• 7:50
  where
• 7:50
  you
• 7:50
  have
• 7:51
  to
• 7:51
  run
• 7:51
  into
• 7:51
  some
• 7:51
  of
• 7:51
  the
• 7:52
  RTA
• 7:52
  stuff
• 7:52
  that's
• 7:53
  ready
• 7:53
  to
• 7:54
  assemble,
• 7:54
  that's
• 7:54
  already
• 7:55
  built,
• 7:56
  that
• 7:56
  kind
• 7:56
  of
• 7:56
  thing.
• 7:56
  So
• 7:57
  think
• 7:57
  about
• 7:57
  those
• 7:58
  details.
• 7:58
  The
• 7:59
  they
• 7:59
  really
• 7:59
  matter.
• 8:00
  So
• 8:00
  understand
• 8:01
  the
• 8:01
  construction.
• 8:02
  And
• 8:02
  here's
• 8:02
  the
• 8:02
  other
• 8:03
  thing
• 8:03
  too,
• 8:03
  with
• 8:03
  the
• 8:03
  flush
• 8:04
  inset
• 8:04
  where
• 8:04
  the
• 8:05
  cabinetry
• 8:05
  is
• 8:05
  flush
• 8:06
  with
• 8:06
  the
• 8:07
  face
• 8:07
  frame,
• 8:08
  that's
• 8:08
  a
• 8:09
  big
• 8:09
  one.
• 8:09
  It
• 8:10
  gives
• 8:10
  you
• 8:10
  that
• 8:10
  classic
• 8:11
  look.
• 8:12
  But
• 8:12
  in
• 8:13
  areas
• 8:13
  where
• 8:13
  there's
• 8:13
  high
• 8:13
  humidity
• 8:14
  or
• 8:14
  you're
• 8:14
  not
• 8:14
  controlling
• 8:15
  humidity,
• 8:15
  like
• 8:15
  if
• 8:16
  you
• 8:16
  were
• 8:16
  in
• 8:16
  Hawaii
• 8:17
  or
• 8:17
  if
• 8:17
  you're
• 8:17
  in
• 8:17
  the
• 8:17
  Gulf
• 8:18
  coast
• 8:18
  states,
• 8:19
  that
• 8:19
  can
• 8:19
  be
• 8:19
  problematic
• 8:20
  without
• 8:21
  the
• 8:21
  right.
• 8:22
  Basically
• 8:23
  you
• 8:23
  need
• 8:23
  to
• 8:23
  have
• 8:23
  a
• 8:24
  humidity
• 8:24
  control
• 8:24
  environment
• 8:25
  in
• 8:25
  There.
• 8:25
  So
• 8:25
  I
• 8:25
  want
• 8:26
  a
• 8:26
  dehumidifier.
• 8:26
  I
• 8:27
  want
• 8:27
  somebody
• 8:27
  that's
• 8:27
  really
• 8:28
  got
• 8:28
  a
• 8:28
  good
• 8:29
  H
• 8:29
  vac
• 8:30
  system
• 8:30
  in
• 8:30
  there
• 8:31
  because
• 8:31
  those
• 8:32
  will
• 8:32
  like
• 8:32
  to
• 8:32
  warp
• 8:33
  and
• 8:33
  you
• 8:33
  don't
• 8:33
  have
• 8:34
  a
• 8:35
  lot
• 8:35
  of
• 8:36
  control
• 8:36
  with
• 8:36
  the
• 8:36
  adjustment.
• 8:37
  So
• 8:38
  with
• 8:38
  a
• 8:38
  door
• 8:38
  frame
• 8:39
  that's
• 8:39
  overlaying
• 8:40
  the
• 8:40
  frame,
• 8:40
  like
• 8:41
  most
• 8:41
  cabinetry
• 8:41
  these
• 8:42
  days,
• 8:42
  you've
• 8:43
  got
• 8:43
  a
• 8:43
  16
• 8:43
  way
• 8:44
  adjustable
• 8:44
  hinge.
• 8:45
  You've
• 8:45
  got
• 8:45
  drawer
• 8:46
  fronts
• 8:46
  you
• 8:46
  can
• 8:46
  move
• 8:46
  around
• 8:47
  and
• 8:47
  so
• 8:47
  you
• 8:47
  can
• 8:47
  adjust
• 8:48
  that
• 8:48
  seasonally.
• 8:49
  But
• 8:49
  with
• 8:49
  an
• 8:50
  inset,
• 8:50
  you've
• 8:50
  got
• 8:50
  a
• 8:51
  very
• 8:51
  similar
• 8:51
  space
• 8:52
  around
• 8:52
  the
• 8:52
  entire
• 8:52
  door
• 8:53
  and
• 8:54
  you
• 8:54
  don't
• 8:54
  have
• 8:54
  that
• 8:54
  adjustment.
• 8:55
  It
• 8:55
  shows
• 8:56
  every
• 8:56
  little
• 8:56
  detail.
• 8:57
  And
• 8:57
  so
• 8:58
  that's
• 8:58
  one
• 8:58
  of
• 8:58
  the
• 8:58
  things
• 8:58
  with
• 8:59
  cabinet
• 8:59
  construction.
• 9:00
  And
• 9:00
  yes,
• 9:01
  solid
• 9:01
  wood
• 9:02
  isn't
• 9:02
  always
• 9:02
  better.
• 9:03
  You're
• 9:04
  like,
• 9:04
  oh,
• 9:04
  I
• 9:04
  want
• 9:04
  hardwood
• 9:05
  cabinet
• 9:06
  boxes
• 9:06
  and
• 9:07
  all
• 9:07
  this
• 9:07
  stuff.
• 9:07
  No,
• 9:08
  you
• 9:08
  really
• 9:08
  don't.
• 9:09
  You
• 9:09
  just
• 9:09
  want
• 9:09
  something
• 9:10
  that's
• 9:10
  going
• 9:10
  to
• 9:10
  be
• 9:10
  sturdy,
• 9:11
  that's
• 9:11
  going
• 9:11
  to
• 9:11
  hold
• 9:12
  up
• 9:12
  to
• 9:12
  the
• 9:13
  elements
• 9:13
  that
• 9:13
  they're
• 9:13
  in
• 9:14
  and
• 9:14
  that's
• 9:14
  going
• 9:14
  to
• 9:14
  be
• 9:15
  a
• 9:15
  good
• 9:15
  supporting
• 9:16
  product
• 9:17
  really
• 9:17
  for
• 9:18
  that
• 9:18
  countertop,
• 9:18
  the
• 9:19
  drawer
• 9:19
  system,
• 9:19
  everything
• 9:20
  else.
• 9:20
  So
• 9:21
  think
• 9:21
  about
• 9:21
  that.
• 9:21
  That's
• 9:22
  really
• 9:22
  going
• 9:22
  to
• 9:22
  walk
• 9:22
  you
• 9:23
  through.
• 9:24
  Understanding
• 9:24
  cabinet
• 9:25
  construction
• 9:25
  and
• 9:26
  how
• 9:26
  they're
• 9:26
  made
• 9:27
  is
• 9:27
  really
• 9:27
  big.
• 9:28
  And
• 9:29
  sometimes
• 9:29
  you
• 9:29
  can
• 9:29
  see
• 9:30
  boxes
• 9:30
  that
• 9:30
  are
• 9:30
  just
• 9:31
  horribly
• 9:31
  made
• 9:31
  out
• 9:32
  there.
• 9:32
  And
• 9:33
  this
• 9:33
  is
• 9:33
  why
• 9:33
  I
• 9:33
  always
• 9:34
  want
• 9:34
  to
• 9:34
  say
• 9:34
  that
• 9:35
  understanding
• 9:36
  cabinet
• 9:36
  construction,
• 9:36
  if
• 9:37
  you're
• 9:37
  dealing
• 9:37
  with
• 9:37
  a
• 9:37
  custom
• 9:38
  shop,
• 9:38
  go
• 9:39
  into
• 9:39
  the
• 9:39
  shop,
• 9:39
  see
• 9:40
  what
• 9:40
  they
• 9:40
  build.
• 9:41
  Understanding
• 9:42
  go
• 9:42
  to
• 9:42
  a
• 9:42
  job
• 9:42
  site,
• 9:43
  see
• 9:43
  what
• 9:43
  shows
• 9:43
  up.
• 9:44
  Because
• 9:44
  they
• 9:44
  could
• 9:45
  be
• 9:45
  building
• 9:45
  it
• 9:45
  okay,
• 9:46
  but
• 9:46
  they
• 9:46
  could
• 9:46
  also
• 9:46
  have
• 9:47
  a
• 9:47
  guy
• 9:47
  that
• 9:47
  doesn't
• 9:47
  know
• 9:47
  how
• 9:48
  to
• 9:48
  run
• 9:48
  the
• 9:48
  table
• 9:48
  saw
• 9:49
  or,
• 9:49
  or
• 9:49
  have
• 9:49
  the
• 9:50
  right
• 9:50
  tools
• 9:50
  with
• 9:50
  the
• 9:50
  table
• 9:51
  saw
• 9:51
  so
• 9:51
  the
• 9:51
  edges
• 9:51
  are
• 9:52
  blown
• 9:52
  out
• 9:52
  and
• 9:53
  things
• 9:53
  look
• 9:53
  bad
• 9:53
  at
• 9:54
  the
• 9:54
  job
• 9:54
  site.
• 9:54
  So
• 9:55
  you
• 9:55
  want
• 9:55
  to
• 9:55
  see
• 9:55
  that
• 9:56
  earlier
• 9:56
  than
• 9:57
  later.
• 9:58
  Now
• 9:58
  major
• 9:58
  brands,
• 9:59
  they
• 9:59
  have
• 9:59
  that
• 9:59
  stuff
• 10:00
  figured
• 10:00
  out.
• 10:00
  When
• 10:00
  you
• 10:00
  look
• 10:01
  at
• 10:01
  the

• 10:02

  all
• 10:05
  the
• 10:05
  different
• 10:05

• 10:06
  there

• 10:07
  they
• 10:07
  have
• 10:08
  that
• 10:08
  part
• 10:08
  basically
• 10:09
  dialed
• 10:09
  in,
• 10:10
  especially
• 10:11
  at
• 10:11
  the
• 10:11

• 10:11
  We'll
• 10:12
  talk
• 10:12
  more
• 10:12
  about
• 10:12
  this,
• 10:13
  but

  these

• 10:17

• 10:18
  I
• 10:19

• 10:19
  less
• 10:19
  about
• 10:20
  construction
• 10:20
  there,
• 10:20
  but

• 14:15
  Yeah,
• 14:15
  it's
• 14:15
  a
• 14:15
  broom.
• 14:16
  It's
• 14:16
  a
• 14:17

• 14:17

• 14:19
  And
• 14:19
  I

• 14:25
  Now,
• 14:26
  it's
• 14:26
  lightweight,
• 14:28
  it
• 14:28
  weighs
• 14:28

• 14:37

• 14:39
  So

  it

  is

• 14:40
  broom
• 14:40
  on

• 14:44
  on
• 14:44
  the
• 14:45

• 14:45
  side
• 14:46
  so
• 14:46
  it
• 14:46
  feels
• 14:46
  like
• 14:46
  a
• 14:46
  regular
• 14:47
  broom
• 14:47
  with
• 14:48
  just
• 14:48
  this
• 14:48
  little
• 14:48
  tiny
• 14:49

• 14:49

• 14:49
  on
• 14:49
  the
• 14:49

• 14:50
  side.
• 14:50
  Now
• 14:50
  what
• 14:50
  I
• 14:50
  love
• 14:50
  about
• 14:51
  this
• 14:51
  thing
• 14:52
  and
• 14:52
  this
• 14:52
  is
• 14:52
  what's
• 14:53
  cool
• 14:53
  about
• 14:53
  it.
• 14:54
  If
• 14:54
  you
• 14:54
  have
• 14:54
  dog
• 14:55
  hair
• 14:55
  and
• 14:55
  hardwood
• 14:55
  floors,
• 14:56
  you
• 14:56
  can
• 14:56
  just
• 14:56
  drop
• 14:56
  it
• 14:57
  right
• 14:57
  underneath
• 14:57
  your
• 14:58
  couch
• 14:59
  or
• 14:59
  furniture.
• 14:59
  It'll
• 15:00
  blow
• 15:00
  those
• 15:00
  dust
• 15:00
  bunnies
• 15:01
  out
• 15:01
  without
• 15:02
  having
• 15:02
  to
• 15:02
  bring
• 15:02
  the
• 15:02
  big
• 15:03
  leaf
• 15:03

• 15:03
  in.
• 15:03
  So
• 15:04
  it's
• 15:04
  got

  really
• 15:05

• 15:08
  great
• 15:08

• 15:09
  Clean
• 15:10
  it
• 15:10
  up.
• 15:10
  You've
• 15:10
  got
• 15:10
  those
• 15:10
  little
• 15:11
  bit
• 15:11
  of
• 15:11
  leaves.
• 15:12
  It
• 15:12
  is
• 15:12
  awesome.
• 15:13
  And
• 15:14
  they
• 15:14
  got
• 15:14

• 15:15

• 15:15
  And
• 15:16
  I
• 15:16
  tell
• 15:16
  you
• 15:16
  what,
• 15:16
  you're
• 15:16
  gonna
• 15:17

• 15:17
  in

• 15:18
  I've

• 15:19
  for
• 15:19
  a
• 15:19
  couple
• 15:19
  years.
• 15:20
  It's
• 15:20
  awesome.
• 15:21
  And
• 15:21
  here's
• 15:21
  the
• 15:22
  cool
• 15:22
  part.
• 15:22
  It's
• 15:23

  It's
• 16:52
  not
• 16:52
  from
• 16:52
  the
• 16:53
  home
• 16:53
  center
• 16:53
  brands.
• 16:54
  It's
• 16:54
  not
• 16:54
  from
• 16:55
  these
• 16:55
  major
• 16:55
  national
• 16:56
  companies
• 16:57
  every
• 16:57
  single
• 16:57
  time.
• 16:58
  It's
• 16:58
  from
• 16:59
  a
• 16:59
  small
• 17:00
  local
• 17:00
  custom
• 17:01
  cabinet
• 17:01
  shop.
• 17:02
  Now
• 17:02
  there
• 17:02
  are
• 17:03
  some
• 17:03
  amazing
• 17:04
  high
• 17:04
  quality
• 17:05
  local
• 17:05
  custom
• 17:05
  cabinet
• 17:06
  shop
• 17:06
  options
• 17:07
  out
• 17:07
  there.
• 17:07
  There
• 17:08
  are,
• 17:09
  but
• 17:09
  there
• 17:09
  are
• 17:09
  equally
• 17:10
  as
• 17:10
  many
• 17:11
  ones
• 17:11
  out
• 17:11
  there.
• 17:12
  That
• 17:12
  haven't
• 17:12
  figured
• 17:13
  out
• 17:14
  and
• 17:14
  they
• 17:15
  have
• 17:15
  a
• 17:15
  hot
• 17:15
  mess
• 17:15
  going.
• 17:16
  Now,
• 17:16
  the
• 17:17
  first
• 17:17
  warning
• 17:17
  sign
• 17:18
  that
• 17:18
  I
• 17:18
  would
• 17:18
  tell
• 17:18
  you
• 17:18
  to
• 17:18
  walk
• 17:18
  away
• 17:19
  from
• 17:19
  one
• 17:19
  of
• 17:19
  these
• 17:19
  custom
• 17:19
  cabin
• 17:20
  shops.
• 17:20
  And
• 17:21
  here's
• 17:21
  the
• 17:21
  thing,
• 17:21
  guys,
• 17:21
  we
• 17:22
  talk
• 17:22
  about
• 17:22
  this
• 17:23
  a
• 17:23
  lot
• 17:23
  on
• 17:23
  this
• 17:24
  show,
• 17:24
  but
• 17:25
  the
• 17:25
  word
• 17:25
  custom
• 17:26
  means
• 17:26
  absolutely
• 17:27
  nothing
• 17:28
  other
• 17:28
  than
• 17:28
  they're
• 17:29
  building
• 17:29
  it
• 17:30
  for
• 17:30
  your
• 17:30
  project.
• 17:32
  Is
• 17:32
  craft
• 17:32
  made
• 17:32
  building
• 17:33
  it
• 17:33
  for
• 17:33
  your
• 17:33
  project
• 17:33
  as
• 17:34
  wellborn
• 17:34
  or
• 17:34
  any
• 17:35
  one
• 17:35
  of
• 17:35
  these
• 17:35
  other
• 17:35
  major
• 17:36
  companies?
• 17:36
  Usually,
• 17:37
  yeah,
• 17:37
  they're
• 17:37
  building
• 17:37
  it
• 17:38
  for
• 17:38
  your
• 17:38
  project.
• 17:39
  They're
• 17:39
  putting
• 17:39
  it
• 17:39
  through
• 17:40
  with
• 17:40
  your
• 17:41
  sticker
• 17:41
  with
• 17:41
  your
• 17:41
  name
• 17:41
  on
• 17:42
  it,
• 17:42
  and
• 17:42
  it
• 17:42
  shows
• 17:42
  up
• 17:42
  and
• 17:43
  they're
• 17:43
  building
• 17:43
  it
• 17:43
  for
• 17:43
  your
• 17:44
  project.
• 17:45
  So
• 17:45
  custom
• 17:46
  has
• 17:47
  no
• 17:47
  meaning
• 17:47
  on
• 17:47
  quality.
• 17:48
  And
• 17:48
  quite
• 17:49
  frankly,
• 17:49
  many
• 17:49
  of
• 17:49
  the
• 17:50
  custom
• 17:50
  brands
• 17:50
  out
• 17:50
  there
• 17:51
  that
• 17:51
  you
• 17:51
  see
• 17:51
  that
• 17:52
  are
• 17:52
  made
• 17:52
  locally
• 17:52
  custom
• 17:53
  don't
• 17:53
  have
• 17:53
  the
• 17:54
  same
• 17:54
  quality
• 17:54
  of
• 17:54
  finish.
• 17:55
  And
• 17:55
  that's
• 17:55
  why
• 17:55
  I
• 17:55
  wanted
• 17:55
  to
• 17:55
  talk
• 17:56
  about
• 17:56
  prioritizing
• 17:57
  high
• 17:57
  quality
• 17:58
  finishes.
• 17:59
  This
• 17:59
  is
• 17:59
  one
• 17:59
  of
• 18:00
  the
• 18:00
  biggest
• 18:00
  things.
• 18:01
  This
• 18:01
  takes
• 18:02
  the
• 18:02
  beating
• 18:03
  every
• 18:03
  single
• 18:04
  day
• 18:04
  of
• 18:04
  you
• 18:05
  in
• 18:05
  your
• 18:05
  kitchen
• 18:05
  or
• 18:06
  bathroom
• 18:06
  or
• 18:06
  anywhere
• 18:07
  else
• 18:07
  you're
• 18:07
  doing
• 18:07
  cabinetry.
• 18:08
  Now
• 18:09
  the
• 18:09
  biggest
• 18:09
  warning
• 18:09
  sign
• 18:09
  out
• 18:10
  there
• 18:10
  is
• 18:10
  a
• 18:10
  custom
• 18:10
  cabinet
• 18:11
  shop
• 18:11
  that
• 18:11
  doesn't
• 18:11
  do
• 18:12
  their
• 18:12
  own
• 18:12
  finishes.
• 18:12
  I
• 18:13
  would
• 18:13
  walk
• 18:13
  away.
• 18:13
  I
• 18:14
  would
• 18:14
  not
• 18:14
  do
• 18:14
  business
• 18:15
  with
• 18:15
  them.
• 18:15
  That
• 18:16
  is
• 18:16
  like
• 18:16
  going
• 18:16
  to
• 18:16
  buy
• 18:17
  your
• 18:17
  favorite
• 18:18
  car
• 18:19
  from
• 18:19
  the
• 18:19
  brand
• 18:20
  new
• 18:20
  car
• 18:20
  lot
• 18:20
  and
• 18:21
  then
• 18:21
  you
• 18:21
  have
• 18:21
  to
• 18:21
  take
• 18:21
  it
• 18:21
  to
• 18:21
  a
• 18:22
  shop
• 18:22
  to
• 18:22
  have
• 18:22
  it
• 18:22
  painted.
• 18:23
  No,
• 18:24
  you
• 18:24
  want
• 18:24
  somebody
• 18:24
  that's
• 18:25
  going
• 18:25
  to
• 18:25
  do
• 18:25
  the
• 18:25
  project
• 18:26
  completely.
• 18:27
  Now,
• 18:28
  there
• 18:28
  are
• 18:28
  areas
• 18:29
  across
• 18:29
  the
• 18:29
  country
• 18:30
  where
• 18:30
  the
• 18:30
  trend
• 18:31
  is
• 18:31
  if
• 18:31
  you're
• 18:32
  painting
• 18:32
  cabinetry
• 18:33
  for
• 18:33
  them
• 18:33
  to
• 18:34
  send
• 18:34
  out,
• 18:35
  the
• 18:35
  cabinetry
• 18:35
  gets
• 18:36
  assembled
• 18:36
  and
• 18:37
  painted
• 18:37
  in
• 18:37
  place.
• 18:38
  That
• 18:38
  quality
• 18:39
  of
• 18:39
  paint
• 18:39
  that's
• 18:39
  out
• 18:40
  at
• 18:40
  the
• 18:40
  job
• 18:40
  site
• 18:40
  is
• 18:41
  not
• 18:41
  as
• 18:41
  good
• 18:41
  as
• 18:41
  what's
• 18:41
  coming
• 18:42
  off
• 18:42
  a
• 18:42
  commercial
• 18:43
  finish
• 18:43
  line
• 18:43
  of
• 18:43
  cabinetry.
• 18:44
  It's
• 18:44
  not.
• 18:44
  It's
• 18:45
  a
• 18:45
  softer
• 18:45
  finish.
• 18:46
  It's
• 18:46
  not
• 18:46
  as
• 18:47
  good.
• 18:48
  Now
• 18:48
  you
• 18:48
  will
• 18:48
  have
• 18:49
  cram
• 18:49
  molding
• 18:50
  details
• 18:51
  and
• 18:51
  things
• 18:51
  that'll
• 18:51
  look
• 18:51
  a
• 18:52
  little
• 18:52
  cleaner
• 18:52
  because
• 18:52
  you
• 18:52
  could
• 18:53
  fill
• 18:53
  and
• 18:53
  sand
• 18:53
  them.
• 18:53
  But
• 18:54
  guess
• 18:54
  what?
• 18:55
  That
• 18:55
  will
• 18:55
  wear
• 18:56
  out
• 18:56
  sooner
• 18:57
  than
• 18:57
  that.
• 18:57
  Factory
• 18:58
  baked
• 18:59
  on
• 18:59
  finish.
• 19:00
  And
• 19:00
  that's
• 19:00
  the
• 19:00
  big
• 19:00
  thing.
• 19:02
  So
• 19:02
  first
• 19:03
  off,
• 19:03
  if
• 19:03
  they're
• 19:04
  shipping
• 19:04
  it
• 19:04
  out,
• 19:05
  I
• 19:05
  want
• 19:05
  to
• 19:05
  see
• 19:05
  them
• 19:05
  primed
• 19:06
  before
• 19:06
  they
• 19:06
  show
• 19:06
  up
• 19:07
  at
• 19:07
  the
• 19:07
  job
• 19:07
  site.
• 19:07
  Because
• 19:08
  when
• 19:08
  cabinetry
• 19:09
  shows
• 19:09
  up
• 19:09
  at
• 19:09
  job
• 19:09
  site,
• 19:10
  it's
• 19:10
  a
• 19:10
  high
• 19:11
  humidity
• 19:11
  zone.
• 19:12
  Many
• 19:12
  times
• 19:13
  the
• 19:13
  things
• 19:14
  are
• 19:14
  drying.
• 19:15
  You've
• 19:15
  got
• 19:16
  flooring,
• 19:16
  you've
• 19:17
  got
• 19:17
  wallboard,
• 19:18
  you've
• 19:18
  got
• 19:18
  all
• 19:19
  the
• 19:19
  different
• 19:20
  sheetrock
• 19:21
  mud
• 19:21
  painting,
• 19:22
  all
• 19:22
  these
• 19:22
  things.
• 19:22
  It's
• 19:23
  usually
• 19:23
  a
• 19:23
  high
• 19:24
  humidity
• 19:24
  environment,
• 19:24
  which
• 19:25
  means
• 19:25
  if
• 19:26
  you
• 19:26
  send
• 19:26
  out
• 19:26
  rock
• 19:26
  habitry,
• 19:27
  they're
• 19:27
  sucking
• 19:28
  that
• 19:28
  up
• 19:29
  and
• 19:29
  you're
• 19:29
  gonna
• 19:29
  have
• 19:30
  a
• 19:30
  battle.
• 19:31
  So
• 19:31
  prioritizing
• 19:32
  high
• 19:32
  quality
• 19:33
  finishes
• 19:33
  I
• 19:34
  never
• 19:34
  want
• 19:34
  Rocky
• 19:35
  at
• 19:35
  a
• 19:35
  job
• 19:35
  site
• 19:36
  ever.
• 19:37
  It's
• 19:37
  just
• 19:37
  going
• 19:37
  to
• 19:37
  be
• 19:37
  a
• 19:38
  problem.
• 19:39
  So
• 19:39
  finishes
• 19:40
  matter.
• 19:41
  Look
• 19:41
  for
• 19:41
  a
• 19:41
  high
• 19:42
  quality
• 19:42
  conversion
• 19:42
  varnish
• 19:43
  or
• 19:43
  one
• 19:43
  of
• 19:43
  the
• 19:44
  modern
• 19:44
  water
• 19:44
  based
• 19:45
  finishes
• 19:45
  for
• 19:45
  durability.
• 19:47
  So
• 19:47
  that
• 19:47
  way
• 19:48
  that
• 19:48
  resists
• 19:48
  wear
• 19:49
  and
• 19:49
  tear,
• 19:49
  keeping
• 19:49
  your
• 19:49
  cabinets
• 19:50
  looking
• 19:50
  fabulous
• 19:51
  for
• 19:51
  years.
• 19:52
  Now
• 19:52
  when
• 19:53
  you
• 19:53
  order
• 19:53
  stuff,
• 19:54
  this
• 19:54
  is
• 19:54
  another
• 19:55
  issue
• 19:55
  that
• 19:55
  I
• 19:55
  see
• 19:55
  out
• 19:56
  there.
• 19:56
  We're
• 19:56
  going
• 19:56
  to
• 19:56
  talk
• 19:56
  about
• 19:56
  this
• 19:57
  for
• 19:57
  a
• 19:57
  minute
• 19:57
  or
• 19:57
  two
• 19:57
  more
• 19:58
  here
• 19:58
  because
• 19:58
  it's
• 19:58
  important.
• 19:59
  So
• 20:00
  many
• 20:00
  times
• 20:00
  I
• 20:01
  have
• 20:01
  questions
• 20:02
  come
• 20:02
  up
• 20:02
  in
• 20:03
  that
• 20:03
  group
• 20:03
  that
• 20:03
  I
• 20:03
  help
• 20:03
  answer
• 20:04
  and
• 20:04
  the
• 20:04
  consumer,
• 20:05
  which
• 20:05
  is
• 20:05
  the
• 20:06
  end
• 20:06
  user,
• 20:06
  is
• 20:07
  sitting
• 20:07
  there
• 20:07
  going,
• 20:07
  I
• 20:07
  want
• 20:08
  to
• 20:08
  do
• 20:08
  this
• 20:09
  stain,
• 20:09
  color.
• 20:11
  No,
• 20:12
  don't
• 20:12
  get
• 20:12
  involved
• 20:13
  in
• 20:13
  what
• 20:14
  is
• 20:14
  going
• 20:14
  on.
• 20:14
  If
• 20:15
  they
• 20:15
  have
• 20:15
  a
• 20:15
  conversion

  varnish
• 20:16

• 20:17
  or
• 20:17
  one
• 20:17
  of
• 20:17
  the
• 20:17
  Poly
• 20:18
  2K
• 20:18
  finishes,
• 20:19
  whatever
• 20:19
  you're
• 20:19
  using,
• 20:19
  if
• 20:20
  it's
• 20:20
  a
• 20:20
  high
• 20:20
  quality
• 20:21
  modern,
• 20:21
  if
• 20:21
  it's
• 20:21
  lacquer,
• 20:22
  I
• 20:22
  walk
• 20:22
  away.
• 20:22
  I
• 20:23
  don't
• 20:23
  need
• 20:23
  a
• 20:23
  lacquer
• 20:23
  finish.
• 20:24
  That's
• 20:24
  old
• 20:25
  technology.
• 20:26
  But
• 20:26
  if
• 20:26
  they're
• 20:26
  using
• 20:26
  the
• 20:27
  right
• 20:27
  finish
• 20:27
  system,
• 20:28
  I
• 20:29
  want
• 20:29
  to
• 20:29
  sit
• 20:29
  there
• 20:30
  and
• 20:30
  meet
• 20:31
  really
• 20:32
  and
• 20:32
  understand
• 20:32
  what
• 20:33
  they're
• 20:33
  going
• 20:33
  to
• 20:33
  prove
• 20:33
  for
• 20:34
  you.
• 20:34
  What
• 20:34
  does
• 20:35
  that
• 20:35
  mean?
• 20:36
  I
• 20:36
  want
• 20:36
  to
• 20:36
  make
• 20:36
  sure
• 20:36
  that
• 20:37
  they're
• 20:37
  the
• 20:37
  ones
• 20:37
  creating
• 20:38
  the
• 20:38
  finish.
• 20:39
  You're
• 20:39
  getting
• 20:39
  a
• 20:39
  sample,
• 20:40
  you're
• 20:40
  signing
• 20:41
  it
• 20:41
  off,
• 20:41
  it's
• 20:42
  that
• 20:42
  simple.
• 20:43
  So
• 20:43
  I
• 20:43
  don't
• 20:44
  want
• 20:44
  you
• 20:44
  getting
• 20:44
  involved
• 20:45
  in
• 20:45
  the
• 20:45
  finish
• 20:45
  process
• 20:46
  of
• 20:46
  what
• 20:46
  materials
• 20:46
  are
• 20:47
  being
• 20:47
  used.
• 20:47
  They
• 20:48
  either
• 20:48
  use
• 20:48
  a
• 20:48
  good
• 20:48
  finish
• 20:49
  or
• 20:49
  they
• 20:49
  don't.
• 20:50
  So
• 20:50
  let
• 20:50
  them
• 20:51
  come
• 20:51
  up
• 20:51
  with
• 20:51
  the
• 20:51
  samples
• 20:52
  for
• 20:52
  you.
• 20:52
  Say,
• 20:52
  hey,
• 20:52
  I
• 20:52
  want
• 20:52
  to
• 20:53
  look
• 20:53
  like
• 20:53
  this.
• 20:54
  Let
• 20:54
  them
• 20:54
  match
• 20:54
  it.
• 20:55
  Let
• 20:55
  their
• 20:55
  finish
• 20:55
  person
• 20:56
  do
• 20:56
  that
• 20:56
  for
• 20:56
  you.
• 20:57
  That
• 20:58
  way
• 20:58
  you're
• 20:58
  good.
• 20:59
  That
• 20:59
  way
• 20:59
  you
• 20:59
  can
• 20:59
  get
• 21:00
  it
• 21:00
  dialed
• 21:00
  in.
• 21:01
  So
• 21:02
  you
• 21:02
  want
• 21:02
  to
• 21:02
  make
• 21:03
  sure
• 21:03
  that
• 21:04
  you
• 21:04
  don't
• 21:04
  insert
• 21:04
  yourself
• 21:05
  too
• 21:05
  much
• 21:05
  into
• 21:05
  this
• 21:06
  design
• 21:06
  process.
• 21:06
  On
• 21:07
  the
• 21:07
  finish,
• 21:07
  you
• 21:07
  want
• 21:07
  to
• 21:07
  say,
• 21:08
  hey,
• 21:08
  I
• 21:08
  need
• 21:08
  this
• 21:08
  color,
• 21:08
  I
• 21:09
  want
• 21:09
  this
• 21:09
  sheen,
• 21:09
  I
• 21:10
  want
• 21:10
  this
• 21:10
  great.
• 21:11
  But
• 21:11
  don't
• 21:11
  be
• 21:12
  saying,
• 21:12
  I
• 21:12
  want
• 21:12
  you
• 21:12
  to
• 21:13
  put
• 21:13
  this
• 21:13

• 21:14

• 21:14
  from
• 21:15
  Home
• 21:15

• 21:15
  on
• 21:15
  it.
• 21:16
  You're
• 21:16
  going
• 21:16
  to
• 21:16
  create
• 21:17
  your
• 21:17
  own
• 21:17
  problems.
• 21:18
  Find
• 21:18
  the
• 21:18
  color
• 21:19
  you
• 21:19
  want,
• 21:19
  have
• 21:20
  them
• 21:20
  match
• 21:20
  it,
• 21:21
  have
• 21:21
  them
• 21:21
  come
• 21:21
  up
• 21:21
  with
• 21:22
  it.
• 21:22
  You
• 21:22
  sign
• 21:22
  off
• 21:23
  and
• 21:23
  approve
• 21:23
  it
• 21:23
  and
• 21:24
  then
• 21:24
  they
• 21:25
  make
• 21:25
  it
• 21:26
  that
• 21:26
  way.
• 21:26
  You
• 21:27
  let
• 21:27
  them
• 21:27
  do
• 21:28
  what
• 21:28
  they
• 21:28
  need
• 21:28
  to
• 21:28
  do
• 21:29
  and
• 21:29
  you
• 21:29
  get
• 21:29
  the
• 21:30
  material
• 21:30
  you
• 21:30
  want.
• 21:30
  You
• 21:31
  want
• 21:31
  to
• 21:31
  see
• 21:31
  a
• 21:31
  door
• 21:32
  sample?
• 21:32
  You
• 21:32
  want
• 21:32
  to
• 21:32
  see
• 21:32
  a
• 21:33
  color
• 21:33
  sample?
• 21:34
  I
• 21:34
  preferably
• 21:35
  if
• 21:35
  it's
• 21:35
  a
• 21:35
  big
• 21:35
  project,
• 21:37
  I
• 21:37
  want
• 21:37
  to
• 21:37
  see
• 21:37
  a
• 21:37
  door
• 21:37
  sample
• 21:38
  with
• 21:38
  the
• 21:38
  finish
• 21:38
  on
• 21:38
  it
• 21:39
  that's
• 21:39
  made
• 21:39
  to
• 21:39
  match.
• 21:40
  So
• 21:40
  I
• 21:40
  can
• 21:40
  sign
• 21:41
  off
• 21:41
  on
• 21:41
  it
• 21:41
  and
• 21:41
  say,
• 21:42
  this
• 21:42
  is
• 21:42
  what
• 21:42
  I
• 21:42
  approve.
• 21:43
  So
• 21:43
  when
• 21:43
  the
• 21:43
  cabinetry
• 21:44
  shows
• 21:44
  up,
• 21:44
  you
• 21:44
  can
• 21:44
  hold
• 21:45
  the
• 21:45
  sample
• 21:45
  next
• 21:45
  to
• 21:45
  it
• 21:45
  and
• 21:45
  go,
• 21:45
  this
• 21:46
  is
• 21:46
  exactly
• 21:46
  what
• 21:46
  I
• 21:46
  was
• 21:46
  looking
• 21:47
  for
• 21:47
  versus
• 21:49
  what
• 21:49
  happened.
• 21:50
  This
• 21:50
  is
• 21:50
  not
• 21:50
  what
• 21:50
  I
• 21:51
  was
• 21:51
  looking
• 21:51
  for.
• 21:52
  So
• 21:52
  make
• 21:52
  sure
• 21:53
  you've
• 21:53
  got
• 21:53
  these
• 21:54
  things
• 21:54
  dialed
• 21:54
  in
• 21:55
  for
• 21:55
  that
• 21:55
  beautiful
• 21:56

• 21:56
  The
• 21:57
  finish
• 21:57
  is
• 21:57
  everything
• 21:58
  in
• 21:58
  this.
• 21:58
  It's
• 21:59
  probably
• 21:59
  one
• 21:59
  of
• 21:59
  the
• 21:59
  most
• 21:59
  important
• 22:00
  things.
• 22:01
  And
• 22:01
  don't
• 22:01
  let
• 22:01
  it
• 22:01
  be
• 22:02
  done
• 22:02
  poorly.
• 22:03
  Make
• 22:04
  sure
• 22:04
  that
• 22:04
  if
• 22:04
  it's
• 22:04

• 25:00
  is
• 25:01
  one
• 25:01
  of
• 25:01
  the
• 25:01
  biggest
• 25:01
  ones.
• 25:02
  Now
• 25:02
  the
• 25:03
  next
• 25:03
  one
• 25:03
  is
• 25:03
  big
• 25:03
  and
• 25:03
  I
• 25:04
  see
• 25:04
  this
• 25:04
  more
• 25:05
  with
• 25:05
  the
• 25:06
  rta,
• 25:06
  the
• 25:07
  ready
• 25:07
  to
• 25:07
  assemble
• 25:08
  cabinetry
• 25:08
  and
• 25:08
  some
• 25:09
  of
• 25:09
  the
• 25:10
  lower
• 25:10
  quality
• 25:10
  things
• 25:11
  out
• 25:11
  there.
• 25:12
  Check
• 25:12
  hardware
• 25:13
  quality.
• 25:13
  Don't
• 25:14
  overlook
• 25:14
  the
• 25:14
  hardware.
• 25:15
  Drawers
• 25:15
  and
• 25:15
  doors
• 25:16
  get
• 25:16
  a
• 25:16
  daily
• 25:17
  workout.
• 25:18
  Cheap
• 25:18
  hinges
• 25:19
  or
• 25:19
  slides
• 25:20
  can
• 25:20
  lead
• 25:20
  to
• 25:21
  sagging
• 25:21
  doors,
• 25:22
  stuck
• 25:22
  drawers.
• 25:24
  You
• 25:24
  want
• 25:24
  to
• 25:24
  have
• 25:25
  some
• 25:25
  reliable
• 25:25
  brands
• 25:26
  out
• 25:26
  there
• 25:27
  like
• 25:27
  Bloom,
• 25:28
  Hafala
• 25:29
  grass.
• 25:30
  Some
• 25:31
  of
• 25:31
  these
• 25:31
  are
• 25:31
  really
• 25:32
  great
• 25:32
  stuff.
• 25:32
  The
• 25:32
  problem
• 25:33
  though
• 25:33
  is
• 25:33
  if
• 25:33
  you're
• 25:34
  buying
• 25:34
  that
• 25:34
  overseas
• 25:35
  branded
• 25:35
  stuff,
• 25:36
  the
• 25:36
  issue
• 25:37
  we
• 25:37
  have
• 25:37
  is
• 25:38
  a
• 25:38
  lot
• 25:38
  of
• 25:38
  that
• 25:38
  is
• 25:38
  knockoff
• 25:39
  stuff.
• 25:39
  So
• 25:40
  it
• 25:40
  looks
• 25:40
  just
• 25:40
  like
• 25:40
  it.
• 25:41
  But
• 25:41
  the
• 25:41
  problem
• 25:41
  is
• 25:42
  when
• 25:42
  it
• 25:42
  fails,
• 25:43
  you
• 25:43
  won't
• 25:44
  find
• 25:44
  something
• 25:45
  to
• 25:45
  replace
• 25:45
  that.
• 25:45
  So
• 25:46
  you
• 25:46
  now
• 25:46
  you're
• 25:46
  going
• 25:46
  to
• 25:46
  be
• 25:46
  rebuilding
• 25:47
  stuff
• 25:47
  out
• 25:47
  of
• 25:47
  your
• 25:48
  new
• 25:48
  kitchen.
• 25:49
  Many
• 25:49
  of
• 25:49
  these
• 25:49
  upwork
• 25:50
  brands
• 25:51
  of
• 25:51
  hardware,
• 25:52
  which
• 25:52
  is
• 25:52
  not
• 25:52
  A
• 25:52
  really
• 25:53
  big
• 25:53
  difference
• 25:53
  in
• 25:53
  a
• 25:53
  kitchen,
• 25:54
  it's
• 25:54
  probably
• 25:54
  hundreds
• 25:55
  of
• 25:55
  dollars
• 25:55
  of
• 25:55
  difference
• 25:56
  between
• 25:57
  the
• 25:57
  knockoff
• 25:57
  stuff
• 25:58
  and
• 25:58
  the
• 25:58
  real
• 25:59
  thing.
• 25:59
  But
• 26:00
  you're
• 26:00
  not
• 26:00
  going
• 26:00
  to
• 26:00
  be
• 26:01
  paying
• 26:01
  hundreds
• 26:01
  to
• 26:02
  have
• 26:02
  somebody
• 26:02
  come
• 26:02
  out
• 26:02
  and
• 26:03
  try
• 26:03
  to
• 26:03
  custom
• 26:03
  make
• 26:04
  a
• 26:04
  drawer
• 26:04
  box
• 26:05
  to
• 26:05
  work
• 26:05
  with
• 26:05
  the
• 26:05
  newer
• 26:06
  drawer
• 26:06
  slides,
• 26:07
  because
• 26:07
  everything
• 26:07
  is
• 26:08
  engineered
• 26:08
  today
• 26:09
  to
• 26:09
  work
• 26:09
  together.
• 26:11
  So
• 26:11
  you
• 26:11
  want
• 26:11
  to
• 26:12
  start
• 26:12
  out
• 26:12
  with
• 26:12
  the
• 26:12
  best
• 26:13
  hardware
• 26:13
  you
• 26:14
  can.
• 26:14
  I
• 26:14
  like
• 26:15
  Blum.
• 26:15
  That
• 26:15
  is
• 26:16
  one
• 26:16
  that
• 26:16
  I've
• 26:17
  used
• 26:17
  for
• 26:17
  decades
• 26:17
  and
• 26:18
  that's
• 26:18
  why
• 26:18
  many
• 26:18
  of
• 26:18
  the
• 26:18
  larger
• 26:19
  manufacturers
• 26:20
  use
• 26:20
  it,
• 26:20
  because
• 26:21
  they
• 26:21
  have
• 26:21
  a
• 26:21
  lifetime
• 26:22
  warranty
• 26:22
  on
• 26:23
  many
• 26:23
  of
• 26:23
  these
• 26:23
  major
• 26:24
  brands.
• 26:24
  They
• 26:25
  want
• 26:25
  a
• 26:25
  hardware
• 26:25
  that's
• 26:26
  going
• 26:26
  to
• 26:26
  hold
• 26:26
  up
• 26:26
  because
• 26:26
  it
• 26:27
  costs
• 26:27
  them
• 26:27
  money
• 26:27
  to
• 26:28
  have
• 26:28
  to
• 26:28
  take
• 26:28
  a
• 26:28
  phone
• 26:29
  call,
• 26:29
  deal
• 26:29
  with
• 26:29
  a
• 26:30
  warning
• 26:30
  claim,
• 26:30
  ship
• 26:31
  out
• 26:31
  hardware,
• 26:32
  and
• 26:32
  maybe
• 26:33
  even
• 26:33
  pay
• 26:33
  somebody
• 26:34
  or
• 26:34
  a
• 26:34
  rep
• 26:35
  to
• 26:35
  come
• 26:35
  out
• 26:35
  and
• 26:35
  swap
• 26:36
  out
• 26:36
  hardware.
• 26:36
  So
• 26:37
  that's
• 26:37
  an
• 26:37
  issue.
• 26:38
  So
• 26:38
  those
• 26:38
  are
• 26:38
  things
• 26:39
  you
• 26:39
  really
• 26:40
  want
• 26:40
  to
• 26:40
  take
• 26:40
  a
• 26:40
  look
• 26:41
  at.
• 26:41
  Hardware
• 26:42
  quality
• 26:42
  is
• 26:42
  a
• 26:42
  big
• 26:43
  deal.
• 26:44
  Ask
• 26:44
  your
• 26:44
  cabinet
• 26:44
  maker
• 26:45
  or
• 26:45
  your
• 26:45
  designer
• 26:46
  or
• 26:46
  if
• 26:46
  when
• 26:46
  you're
• 26:47
  working
• 26:47
  with
• 26:47
  your
• 26:47
  designer
• 26:47
  to
• 26:47
  say,
• 26:48
  hey,
• 26:48
  I
• 26:48
  want
• 26:48
  Blum
• 26:49
  hardware,
• 26:50
  great,
• 26:50
  that'll
• 26:51
  take
• 26:51
  you
• 26:51
  into
• 26:51
  the
• 26:51
  brands
• 26:52
  that
• 26:52
  you
• 26:52
  want.
• 26:53
  There's
• 26:53
  some
• 26:53
  other
• 26:53
  brands
• 26:54
  out
• 26:54
  there
• 26:54
  for
• 26:54
  it.
• 26:54
  But
• 26:55
  really
• 26:55
  stay
• 26:55
  away
• 26:55
  from
• 26:56
  the
• 26:56
  knockoff
• 26:56
  stuff,
• 26:57
  the
• 26:57
  ready
• 26:57
  to
• 26:57
  assemble
• 26:58
  stuff.
• 26:58
  A
• 26:58
  lot
• 26:59
  of
• 26:59
  it
• 26:59
  doesn't
• 26:59
  use
• 27:00
  that.
• 27:00
  But
• 27:00
  ask
• 27:00
  those
• 27:01
  questions
• 27:01
  about
• 27:01
  hardware
• 27:02
  and
• 27:03
  it's
• 27:03
  got
• 27:03
  to
• 27:04
  perform
• 27:04
  well
• 27:04
  under
• 27:05
  pressure.
• 27:05
  So
• 27:05
  make
• 27:05
  sure
• 27:06
  you
• 27:06
  get
• 27:06
  the
• 27:06
  right
• 27:06
  one
• 27:07
  so
• 27:07
  you're
• 27:07
  not
• 27:07
  rebuilding
• 27:08
  things
• 27:08
  later
• 27:08
  and
• 27:09
  having
• 27:09
  to
• 27:09
  pay
• 27:09
  twice
• 27:10
  that
• 27:10
  ends
• 27:11
  up
• 27:11
  costing
• 27:11
  you
• 27:11
  money.
• 27:12
  Now,
• 27:12
  we
• 27:13
  talked
• 27:13
  a
• 27:13
  little
• 27:13
  bit
• 27:13
  about
• 27:13
  this
• 27:14
  earlier,
• 27:14
  but
• 27:14
  it's
• 27:14
  still
• 27:15
  on
• 27:15
  here
• 27:15
  as
• 27:15
  number
• 27:15
  five.
• 27:17
  Custom
• 27:17
  doesn't
• 27:18
  mean
• 27:18
  better.
• 27:19
  And
• 27:19
  I
• 27:19
  tell
• 27:20
  you
• 27:20
  what,
• 27:20
  we
• 27:20
  talked
• 27:20
  about
• 27:20
  it
• 27:21
  earlier
• 27:21
  with
• 27:21
  finishes,
• 27:22
  but
• 27:22
  the
• 27:22
  Ask
• 27:23
  A
• 27:23
  Cabinet
• 27:23
  Baker
• 27:24
  group
• 27:24
  is
• 27:24
  a
• 27:24
  great
• 27:25
  test
• 27:25
  of
• 27:25
  cabinetry
• 27:26
  issues
• 27:26
  across
• 27:26
  the
• 27:26
  US
• 27:27
  and
• 27:27
  if
• 27:27
  you
• 27:28
  go
• 27:28
  down
• 27:28
  through
• 27:28
  that
• 27:28
  page
• 27:29
  after
• 27:29
  you've
• 27:29
  joined,
• 27:30
  I
• 27:30
  tell
• 27:30
  you
• 27:30
  what,
• 27:31
  all
• 27:31
  the
• 27:31
  finish
• 27:32
  issues,
• 27:32
  every
• 27:33
  single
• 27:33
  one
• 27:33
  of
• 27:33
  them
• 27:34
  are
• 27:34
  from
• 27:35
  custom
• 27:35
  cabinet
• 27:35
  shops
• 27:36
  out
• 27:36
  there
• 27:36
  that
• 27:37
  have
• 27:37
  stain
• 27:38
  or
• 27:39
  top
• 27:39
  coat
• 27:39
  finish
• 27:40
  issues.
• 27:40
  And
• 27:41
  this
• 27:41
  is
• 27:41
  a
• 27:41
  big
• 27:41
  deal.
• 27:42
  So
• 27:43
  custom
• 27:43
  only
• 27:44
  means
• 27:45
  that
• 27:45
  it
• 27:45
  was
• 27:46
  built
• 27:46
  for
• 27:46
  you
• 27:47
  on
• 27:47
  your
• 27:47
  project.
• 27:48
  Now
• 27:49
  if
• 27:49
  I
• 27:49
  order
• 27:50
  brands
• 27:50
  like
• 27:51
  craftmatter,
• 27:52
  considered
• 27:52
  semi
• 27:53
  custom,
• 27:53
  probably
• 27:54
  because
• 27:54
  they
• 27:55
  don't
• 27:55
  all
• 27:55
  do
• 27:55
  all
• 27:56
  the
• 27:56
  custom
• 27:56
  finishes,
• 27:57
  they
• 27:57
  don't
• 27:57
  do
• 27:57
  all
• 27:57
  this
• 27:57
  stuff,
• 27:58
  but
• 27:58
  really
• 27:59
  many
• 28:00
  of
• 28:00
  the
• 28:00
  things
• 28:00
  that
• 28:00
  they
• 28:01
  do
• 28:01
  are
• 28:02
  higher
• 28:02
  grade
• 28:02
  than
• 28:03
  many
• 28:03
  of
• 28:03
  the
• 28:03
  custom
• 28:04
  cabinet
• 28:04
  shops
• 28:04
  out
• 28:05
  there.
• 28:05
  And
• 28:05
  here's
• 28:06
  why.
• 28:06
  These
• 28:07
  big
• 28:07
  manufacturers
• 28:08
  that
• 28:08
  crank
• 28:08
  out
• 28:09
  hundreds
• 28:09
  of
• 28:10
  cabinets
• 28:10
  a
• 28:10
  day,
• 28:11
  what
• 28:11
  are
• 28:12
  they
• 28:12
  doing?
• 28:13
  They
• 28:13
  have
• 28:13
  high
• 28:14
  end
• 28:14
  finish
• 28:14
  systems
• 28:15
  that
• 28:15
  are
• 28:15
  robotic
• 28:16
  that
• 28:16
  put
• 28:16
  on
• 28:16
  the
• 28:16
  exact
• 28:17
  same
• 28:17
  finish
• 28:18
  on
• 28:18
  each
• 28:18
  door
• 28:19
  or
• 28:19
  drawer
• 28:19
  front.
• 28:20
  They've
• 28:20
  Spent
• 28:21
  a
• 28:21
  ton
• 28:21
  of
• 28:21
  money
• 28:21
  because
• 28:22
  mistakes
• 28:23
  cost
• 28:23
  them
• 28:23
  big
• 28:23
  money.
• 28:25
  So
• 28:25
  that's
• 28:26
  why
• 28:26
  they
• 28:26
  have
• 28:27
  a
• 28:27
  lesser
• 28:27
  amount
• 28:28
  of
• 28:28
  mistakes.
• 28:29
  They
• 28:29
  really
• 28:29
  have
• 28:30
  it
• 28:30
  dialed
• 28:30
  in,
• 28:31
  so
• 28:31
  they
• 28:31
  have
• 28:31
  to
• 28:31
  be
• 28:32
  consistent.
• 28:32
  If
• 28:32
  I
• 28:33
  order
• 28:33
  a
• 28:33
  drawer
• 28:34
  front
• 28:34
  from
• 28:34
  a
• 28:35
  kitchen
• 28:35
  that's
• 28:35
  18
• 28:35
  months
• 28:36
  old,
• 28:36
  when
• 28:36
  it
• 28:36
  shows
• 28:37
  up,
• 28:37
  it
• 28:37
  needs
• 28:37
  to
• 28:37
  match.
• 28:38
  It
• 28:39
  needs
• 28:39
  to
• 28:39
  bolt
• 28:39
  on
• 28:40
  and
• 28:40
  look
• 28:40
  great.
• 28:41
  So
• 28:42
  that's
• 28:42
  the
• 28:42
  issue.
• 28:43
  Custom
• 28:43
  cabin
• 28:44
  shops
• 28:44
  have
• 28:44
  a
• 28:44
  hard
• 28:44
  time
• 28:45
  with
• 28:45
  consistency
• 28:46
  because
• 28:46
  there's
• 28:47
  probably
• 28:47
  one
• 28:47
  or
• 28:47
  two
• 28:48
  people
• 28:48
  in
• 28:48
  that
• 28:48
  finish
• 28:49
  room,
• 28:49
  and
• 28:49
  if
• 28:49
  they
• 28:50
  leave,
• 28:50
  if
• 28:50
  they
• 28:50
  change,
• 28:51
  it's
• 28:52
  a
• 28:52
  huge,
• 28:53
  big
• 28:53
  mess.
• 28:54
  It's
• 28:54
  a
• 28:54
  mess.
• 28:55
  It's
• 28:55
  a
• 28:55
  huge
• 28:56
  mess.
• 28:56
  So
• 28:57
  make
• 28:57
  sure
• 28:58
  that
• 28:59
  you
• 28:59
  sit
• 28:59
  there
• 29:00
  and
• 29:00
  work
• 29:00
  with
• 29:00
  this.
• 29:01
  Make
• 29:01
  sure
• 29:01
  that
• 29:01
  you
• 29:02
  get
• 29:02
  the
• 29:03
  right
• 29:03
  cabinetry
• 29:04
  for
• 29:04
  your
• 29:04
  project.
• 29:05
  Custom
• 29:06
  could
• 29:06
  be
• 29:07
  a
• 29:07
  guy
• 29:07
  in
• 29:08
  a
• 29:08
  table
• 29:08
  saw
• 29:08
  that
• 29:09
  barely
• 29:09
  can
• 29:09
  run
• 29:10
  it
• 29:10
  in
• 29:10
  somebody's
• 29:11
  garage.
• 29:11
  Building
• 29:11
  your
• 29:12
  cabinetry,
• 29:13
  it
• 29:13
  can
• 29:13
  mean
• 29:13
  somebody
• 29:14
  that
• 29:14
  has
• 29:14
  a
• 29:14
  CNC
• 29:15
  machine
• 29:16
  that's
• 29:16
  making
• 29:16
  it
• 29:16
  down
• 29:17
  to
• 29:17
  the
• 29:17
  thousandths
• 29:17
  of
• 29:17
  an
• 29:18
  inch
• 29:18
  that
• 29:18
  makes
• 29:19
  perfect
• 29:19
  cuts
• 29:19
  every
• 29:20
  time.
• 29:20
  So
• 29:21
  be
• 29:21
  careful
• 29:21
  when
• 29:22
  you
• 29:22
  say,
• 29:22
  oh,
• 29:22
  I'm
• 29:22
  having
• 29:23
  custom
• 29:23
  cabinets
• 29:24
  built
• 29:24
  for
• 29:24
  the
• 29:24
  people
• 29:25
  that
• 29:25
  know
• 29:26
  they
• 29:26
  might
• 29:26
  be
• 29:26
  going,
• 29:27
  wow,
• 29:27
  that's
• 29:28
  not
• 29:28
  a
• 29:28
  good
• 29:28
  thing.
• 29:29
  There
• 29:30
  are
• 29:30
  some
• 29:30
  great
• 29:31
  custom
• 29:31
  cabinet
• 29:31
  shops
• 29:32
  out
• 29:32
  there,
• 29:32
  but
• 29:33
  you
• 29:33
  have
• 29:33
  to
• 29:33
  find
• 29:34
  them,
• 29:34
  because
• 29:35
  many
• 29:35
  of
• 29:35
  them
• 29:35
  are
• 29:36
  people
• 29:37
  that
• 29:37
  kind
• 29:37
  of
• 29:37
  know
• 29:37
  how
• 29:38
  to
• 29:38
  build
• 29:38
  cabinetry,
• 29:39
  but
• 29:39
  they
• 29:39
  sure
• 29:39
  don't
• 29:39
  know
• 29:40
  how
• 29:40
  to
• 29:40
  finish
• 29:40
  them.
• 29:41
  So
• 29:41
  be
• 29:41
  careful
• 29:42
  out
• 29:42
  there.
• 29:43
  Buyer
• 29:43
  beware.
• 29:44
  When
• 29:44
  you're
• 29:44
  working
• 29:45
  with
• 29:45
  custom,
• 29:45
  you're
• 29:46
  gonna
• 29:46
  have
• 29:46
  to
• 29:46
  do
• 29:46
  four
• 29:46
  or
• 29:47
  five
• 29:47
  times
• 29:47
  the
• 29:47
  work
• 29:48
  to
• 29:48
  make
• 29:48
  sure
• 29:48
  you
• 29:48
  find
• 29:48
  what
• 29:49
  you're
• 29:49
  looking
• 29:49
  for
• 29:50
  to
• 29:50
  find
• 29:51
  the
• 29:51
  right
• 29:51
  company
• 29:52
  versus
• 29:52
  some
• 29:52
  of
• 29:52
  the
• 29:52
  major
• 29:53
  retailers
• 29:53
  out
• 29:53
  there.
• 29:54
  So
• 29:54
  be
• 29:54
  careful.
• 29:55
  That
• 29:56
  can
• 29:56
  be
• 29:56
  a
• 29:56
  big
• 29:57
  problem.
• 29:58
  So
• 29:58
  make
• 29:58
  sure
• 29:58
  you
• 29:58
  get
• 29:58
  that
• 29:59
  dialed
• 29:59
  in.
• 29:59
  Custom
• 30:00
  doesn't
• 30:01
  always
• 30:01
  mean
• 30:01
  better.
• 30:02
  Number
• 30:03
  six,
• 30:04
  get
• 30:04
  the
• 30:05
  details
• 30:05
  and
• 30:06
  the
• 30:06
  contract
• 30:07
  and
• 30:08
  the
• 30:08
  approved
• 30:08
  drawings
• 30:09
  before
• 30:09
  the
• 30:09
  order
• 30:10
  is
• 30:10
  placed.
• 30:11
  Make
• 30:11
  sure
• 30:12
  that
• 30:12
  everything
• 30:12
  is
• 30:13
  spelled
• 30:13
  out.
• 30:13
  The
• 30:14
  construction
• 30:14
  method,
• 30:15
  the
• 30:15
  doors,
• 30:16
  the
• 30:16
  finish,
• 30:17
  the
• 30:18
  sheen,
• 30:18
  all
• 30:18
  the
• 30:19
  different
• 30:19
  things
• 30:19
  that
• 30:19
  go
• 30:20
  onto
• 30:20
  this.
• 30:21
  If
• 30:21
  you're
• 30:21
  ordering
• 30:22
  cabinetry
• 30:22
  before
• 30:22
  there's
• 30:23
  a
• 30:23
  stain,
• 30:23
  color
• 30:24
  picked,
• 30:24
  or
• 30:24
  you're
• 30:25
  working
• 30:25
  on
• 30:25
  the
• 30:25
  wood
• 30:26
  species,
• 30:26
  that
• 30:27
  door,
• 30:27
  everything
• 30:28
  should
• 30:28
  be
• 30:28
  at
• 30:28
  100%
• 30:29
  on
• 30:29
  the
• 30:29
  cabinetry
• 30:30
  when
• 30:30
  the
• 30:30
  order
• 30:30
  is
• 30:31
  placed.
• 30:31
  And
• 30:31
  if
• 30:31
  you
• 30:32
  haven't
• 30:32
  seen
• 30:32
  a
• 30:32
  door
• 30:32
  sample
• 30:33
  that
• 30:33
  you've
• 30:33
  approved,
• 30:34
  if
• 30:34
  you
• 30:34
  haven't
• 30:35
  signed
• 30:35
  off
• 30:35
  on
• 30:35
  a
• 30:35
  color
• 30:36
  sample
• 30:36
  and
• 30:37
  you
• 30:37
  don't
• 30:37
  understand
• 30:38
  what
• 30:38
  the
• 30:38
  wood
• 30:39
  species
• 30:39
  is,
• 30:40
  that's
• 30:41
  a
• 30:41
  big
• 30:41
  deal.
• 30:41
  And
• 30:42
  understanding
• 30:43
  this
• 30:43
  stuff
• 30:43
  and
• 30:43
  working
• 30:43
  with
• 30:44
  a
• 30:44
  designer
• 30:44
  is
• 30:44
  big.
• 30:45
  You
• 30:46
  can
• 30:46
  say,
• 30:46
  oh,
• 30:46
  I
• 30:47
  want
• 30:47
  white
• 30:47
  oak.
• 30:48
  That's
• 30:48
  great.
• 30:49
  Is
• 30:49
  it
• 30:49
  riff
• 30:50
  cut?
• 30:51
  Is
• 30:51
  it
• 30:51
  just
• 30:51
  rotary
• 30:52
  cut?
• 30:53
  What
• 30:53
  kind
• 30:53
  of
• 30:53
  cut
• 30:53
  is
• 30:54
  it?
• 30:54
  It's
• 30:54
  going
• 30:54
  to
• 30:54
  be
• 30:54
  a
• 30:54
  completely
• 30:55
  different
• 30:55
  look.
• 30:56
  Are
• 30:56
  you
• 30:56
  grain
• 30:57
  matching?
• 30:58
  These
• 30:58
  are
• 30:58
  all
• 30:58
  the
• 30:59
  things
• 30:59
  that
• 30:59
  need
• 30:59
  to
• 30:59
  be
• 30:59
  written
• 31:00
  down.
• 31:00
  And
• 31:00
  if
• 31:01
  it's
• 31:01
  not
• 31:01
  in
• 31:01
  the
• 31:01
  contract,
• 31:02
  you're
• 31:02
  probably
• 31:03
  not
• 31:03
  getting
• 31:03
  it.
• 31:04
  So
• 31:04
  this
• 31:04
  is
• 31:04
  where
• 31:05
  having
• 31:05
  that
• 31:05
  designer
• 31:06
  working
• 31:06
  with
• 31:06
  you
• 31:07
  to
• 31:07
  understand
• 31:08
  the
• 31:08
  specifications,
• 31:09
  to
• 31:09
  make
• 31:09
  sure
• 31:10
  it's
• 31:10
  dialed
• 31:10
  in.
• 31:11
  This
• 31:11
  is
• 31:12
  the
• 31:12
  game
• 31:12
  changers
• 31:13
  of
• 31:13
  these
• 31:13
  projects.
• 31:13
  That
• 31:14
  contract
• 31:15
  is
• 31:15
  a
• 31:15
  communication
• 31:16
  device
• 31:16
  to
• 31:16
  make
• 31:17
  sure
• 31:17
  you're
• 31:17
  getting
• 31:17
  exactly
• 31:18
  what
• 31:18
  you
• 31:18
  want
• 31:19
  and
• 31:19
  they're
• 31:20
  producing
• 31:20
  what
• 31:21
  you
• 31:21
  want.
• 31:22
  Many
• 31:22
  times
• 31:23
  mistakes
• 31:23
  happen.
• 31:24
  I'll
• 31:24
  tell
• 31:24
  you
• 31:24
  why.
• 31:24
  This
• 31:24
  is
• 31:25
  why
• 31:25
  I
• 31:25
  do
• 31:25
  sign
• 31:26
  samples
• 31:27
  back
• 31:27
  in
• 31:27
  the
• 31:27
  day.
• 31:28
  And
• 31:28
  I'll
• 31:29
  say
• 31:29
  this
• 31:29
  about
• 31:29
  Wellborn
• 31:30
  cabinetry.
• 31:30
  They
• 31:30
  make
• 31:30
  a
• 31:30
  nice
• 31:31
  cabinet.
• 31:31
  I
• 31:31
  used
• 31:31
  to
• 31:31
  be
• 31:31
  one
• 31:31
  of
• 31:32
  their
• 31:32
  dealers.
• 31:33
  But
• 31:33
  one
• 31:33
  of
• 31:33
  their
• 31:33
  biggest
• 31:34
  problems
• 31:34
  they
• 31:34
  had
• 31:34
  when
• 31:35
  I
• 31:35
  was
• 31:35
  a
• 31:35
  dealer
• 31:35
  back
• 31:36
  then
• 31:37
  is
• 31:37
  they
• 31:37
  had
• 31:38
  natural,
• 31:38
  which
• 31:39
  was
• 31:39
  a
• 31:39
  clear
• 31:39
  finish.
• 31:41
  They
• 31:41
  had
• 31:41
  light
• 31:42
  that
• 31:42
  had
• 31:42
  just
• 31:42
  a
• 31:43
  little
• 31:43
  bit
• 31:43
  of
• 31:43
  a
• 31:43
  tint
• 31:44
  to
• 31:44
  it,
• 31:45
  and
• 31:45
  they
• 31:45
  had
• 31:45
  dark,
• 31:46
  which
• 31:47
  was
• 31:47
  not
• 31:47
  their
• 31:48
  darkest
• 31:48
  finish
• 31:48
  because
• 31:49
  they
• 31:49
  had
• 31:49
  an
• 31:49
  ebony
• 31:49
  finish
• 31:50
  that
• 31:50
  was
• 31:50
  darker.
• 31:51
  So
• 31:51
  what
• 31:52
  happens
• 31:52
  is
• 31:52
  you
• 31:53
  can
• 31:53
  be
• 31:53
  talking
• 31:53
  about
• 31:53
  the
• 31:53
  light
• 31:54
  finish,
• 31:54
  which
• 31:55
  the
• 31:55
  consumer
• 31:56
  you
• 31:57
  thinks
• 31:57
  is
• 31:58
  natural.
• 31:59
  Natural
• 31:59
  is
• 32:00
  natural.
• 32:00
  It's
• 32:01
  a
• 32:01
  clear
• 32:01
  coat
• 32:02
  that
• 32:02
  one
• 32:02
  has
• 32:02
  a
• 32:02
  little
• 32:03
  bit.
• 32:03
  If
• 32:03
  you're
• 32:03
  dark,
• 32:04
  that
• 32:04
  could
• 32:04
  be
• 32:04
  ebony.
• 32:05
  They
• 32:05
  think
• 32:06
  it's
• 32:06
  the
• 32:06
  darkest
• 32:06
  finish,
• 32:07
  but
• 32:07
  it's
• 32:08
  a
• 32:08
  medium
• 32:08
  finish.
• 32:09
  So
• 32:09
  those
• 32:10
  names
• 32:10
  can
• 32:10
  lead
• 32:11
  to
• 32:11
  issues.
• 32:12
  And
• 32:12
  so
• 32:12
  that's
• 32:12
  why
• 32:13
  I
• 32:13
  always
• 32:13
  say,
• 32:14
  sign
• 32:14
  off
• 32:14
  on
• 32:14
  the
• 32:15
  door
• 32:15
  sample,
• 32:16
  sign
• 32:16
  off
• 32:16
  on
• 32:16
  the
• 32:17
  colors,
• 32:17
  sign
• 32:18
  off
• 32:18
  on
• 32:18
  the
• 32:18
  sheen,
• 32:19
  make
• 32:19
  sure
• 32:19
  everything's
• 32:20
  sign
• 32:21
  sealed,
• 32:21
  delivered
• 32:22
  before
• 32:22
  the
• 32:22
  cabinetry
• 32:23
  is
• 32:23
  done.
• 32:24
  And
• 32:24
  then
• 32:24
  that
• 32:24
  way
• 32:25
  you've
• 32:25
  got
• 32:25
  a
• 32:25
  sample
• 32:25
  when
• 32:26
  it
• 32:26
  shows
• 32:26
  up
• 32:26
  so
• 32:26
  you
• 32:26
  can
• 32:27
  see
• 32:27
  exactly
• 32:27
  what
• 32:28
  you
• 32:28
  get.
• 32:28
  And
• 32:29
  that
• 32:29
  way
• 32:29
  you're
• 32:30
  clear
• 32:30
  you're
• 32:30
  not
• 32:31
  getting
• 32:31
  ripped
• 32:31
  off.
• 32:32
  And
• 32:32
  big
• 32:32
  mistakes
• 32:33
  don't
• 32:33
  happen.
• 32:34
  Yes,
• 32:34
  even
• 32:35
  I
• 32:35
  as
• 32:35
  a
• 32:35
  designer
• 32:36
  a
• 32:36
  couple
• 32:36
  times
• 32:36
  had
• 32:37
  the
• 32:37
  wrong
• 32:37
  finish
• 32:37
  come
• 32:38
  out.
• 32:38
  One
• 32:39
  of
• 32:39
  those
• 32:39
  two
• 32:39
  times
• 32:40
  that
• 32:40
  I've
• 32:40
  ever
• 32:40
  had
• 32:40
  a
• 32:40
  problem
• 32:41
  with
• 32:42
  was
• 32:42
  because
• 32:42
  of
• 32:42
  that,
• 32:43
  the
• 32:43
  nomenclature
• 32:44
  of
• 32:44
  the
• 32:44
  brand.
• 32:45
  And
• 32:46
  it
• 32:46
  wasn't
• 32:46
  accurate
• 32:47
  to
• 32:47
  what
• 32:47
  the
• 32:47
  perception
• 32:48
  was
• 32:48
  of
• 32:48
  that
• 32:48
  color.
• 32:49
  So
• 32:49
  you
• 32:49
  got
• 32:49
  to
• 32:49
  think
• 32:49
  about
• 32:50
  that.
• 32:50
  Make
• 32:51
  sure
• 32:51
  that
• 32:51
  you're
• 32:51
  on
• 32:51
  the
• 32:51
  same
• 32:52
  page.
• 32:52
  Make
• 32:52
  sure
• 32:52
  that
• 32:52
  you
• 32:53
  have
• 32:53
  the
• 32:53
  right
• 32:53
  colors,
• 32:53
  and
• 32:54
  that'll
• 32:54
  protect
• 32:54
  you
• 32:55
  in
• 32:55
  the
• 32:55
  long
• 32:56
  run.
• 32:57
  Now,
• 32:57
  the
• 32:57
  next
• 32:57
  one
• 32:57
  here
• 32:58
  is
• 32:58
  an
• 32:58
  important
• 32:58
  one,
• 32:59
  and
• 32:59
  I
• 32:59
  want
• 32:59
  to
• 32:59
  talk
• 32:59
  about
• 33:00
  this
• 33:00
  really
• 33:00
  cool
• 33:02
  feature
• 33:02
  here
• 33:02
  before
• 33:02
  we
• 33:03
  go
• 33:03
  out.
• 33:03
  Maple
• 33:04
  dovetail
• 33:04
  drawers
• 33:04
  are
• 33:05
  such
• 33:05
  a
• 33:05
  big
• 33:05
  deal
• 33:05
  with
• 33:05
  cabinetry,
• 33:06
  But
• 33:06
  I'm
• 33:06
  going
• 33:06
  to
• 33:06
  tell
• 33:07
  you
• 33:07
  why
• 33:07
  they're
• 33:08
  not
• 33:08
  needed
• 33:09
  just
• 33:09
  as
• 33:09
  soon
• 33:09
  as
• 33:10
  around
• 33:10
  the
• 33:10

• 33:10

• 33:11
  Don't

  the
• 33:12
  money
• 33:12
  on
• 33:12
  this
• 33:12

• 33:12
  if
• 33:13
  you
• 33:13
  don't
• 33:13
  need
• 33:13
  it.
• 33:13
  We'll
• 33:14
  do
• 33:14
  that
• 33:14
  just
• 33:14
  after
• 33:14
  these
• 33:15
  important
• 33:15
  messages,
• 33:15
  don't

  should

  right
• 36:14
  now.
• 36:15
  You
• 36:15
  could
• 36:15
  be
• 36:15
  their
• 36:16

• 36:16
  and
• 36:17
  stop

• 36:18
  from
• 36:18
  a
• 36:18
  lot
• 36:18
  of
• 36:18
  headaches.
• 36:19
  We
• 36:19
  went
• 36:19
  out
• 36:20
  to
• 36:20
  break.
• 36:20
  We're
• 36:20
  talking
• 36:20
  about
• 36:21
  maple
• 36:22
  dovetail
• 36:22
  drawer
• 36:22
  boxes.
• 36:23
  Now.
• 36:24
  This
• 36:24
  is
• 36:24
  that
• 36:25
  really
• 36:25
  beautiful
• 36:26
  light
• 36:26
  wood.
• 36:27
  It's
• 36:27
  usually
• 36:27
  got
• 36:27
  a
• 36:27
  clear
• 36:28
  coat
• 36:28
  on
• 36:28
  it.
• 36:28
  It's
• 36:28
  got
• 36:29
  beautiful
• 36:29
  dovetail
• 36:30
  joints
• 36:30
  in
• 36:30
  the
• 36:30
  corners.
• 36:31
  Now
• 36:32
  here's
• 36:32
  the
• 36:32
  thing.
• 36:32
  If
• 36:32
  you're
• 36:33
  using
• 36:33
  a
• 36:33
  nice
• 36:34
  blum
• 36:34
  undermount
• 36:35
  slide,
• 36:36
  you're
• 36:37
  wasting
• 36:37
  money
• 36:37
  here.
• 36:38
  If
• 36:38
  you're
• 36:38
  tight
• 36:39
  on
• 36:39
  a
• 36:39
  budget,
• 36:40
  I
• 36:40
  would
• 36:40
  step
• 36:40
  back
• 36:41
  and
• 36:41
  look
• 36:41
  at
• 36:41
  a
• 36:41
  nice
• 36:42
  finished
• 36:42
  plywood
• 36:43
  drawer
• 36:43
  box
• 36:43
  instead.
• 36:44
  That's
• 36:45
  doweled
• 36:45
  or
• 36:46
  whatever
• 36:46
  else
• 36:46
  in
• 36:46
  there
• 36:47
  because
• 36:47
  all
• 36:47
  those
• 36:48
  drawer
• 36:48
  boxes
• 36:48
  are
• 36:49
  supporting
• 36:49
  from
• 36:49
  the
• 36:50
  bottom
• 36:50
  of
• 36:50
  the
• 36:51
  drawer.
• 36:52
  So
• 36:52
  you
• 36:52
  can
• 36:53
  get
• 36:53
  a
• 36:53
  nice
• 36:53
  plywood.
• 36:54
  Basically
• 36:55
  a
• 36:55
  plywood
• 36:56
  drawer
• 36:56
  box
• 36:56
  that's
• 36:56
  made,
• 36:57
  that's
• 36:57
  doweled
• 36:57
  and
• 36:57
  stapled
• 36:58
  or
• 36:58
  glued
• 36:58
  or
• 36:58
  however
• 36:58
  they
• 36:59
  make
• 36:59
  it,
• 36:59
  it's
• 37:00
  really
• 37:00
  not
• 37:00
  going
• 37:00
  to
• 37:00
  see
• 37:00
  any
• 37:01
  difference
• 37:01
  in
• 37:01
  use
• 37:02
  versus
• 37:02
  the
• 37:03
  maple
• 37:03
  dovetail
• 37:04
  because
• 37:04
  those
• 37:04
  glides
• 37:05
  do
• 37:05
  such
• 37:05
  a
• 37:06
  great
• 37:06
  job
• 37:06
  of
• 37:06
  supporting
• 37:07
  the
• 37:07
  bottom.
• 37:08
  Now
• 37:08
  when
• 37:08
  you
• 37:08
  had
• 37:08
  side
• 37:09
  mount
• 37:09
  glides
• 37:09
  or
• 37:10
  you
• 37:10
  had
• 37:10
  some
• 37:10
  of
• 37:10
  the
• 37:10
  white
• 37:10
  epoxy
• 37:11
  ones
• 37:11
  that
• 37:11
  are
• 37:12
  on
• 37:12
  the
• 37:12
  edge
• 37:12
  of
• 37:12
  the
• 37:12
  drawer
• 37:12
  box.
• 37:13
  Yeah,
• 37:13
  you
• 37:14
  needed
• 37:14
  that
• 37:14
  strength
• 37:15
  in
• 37:15
  the
• 37:15
  drawer
• 37:15
  box.
• 37:16
  But
• 37:16
  really
• 37:17
  the
• 37:17
  maple
• 37:18
  dovetail
• 37:18
  is
• 37:19
  a
• 37:19
  perception
• 37:20
  thing.
• 37:20
  And
• 37:20
  that's
• 37:20
  why
• 37:20
  many
• 37:21
  Cabma
• 37:21
  companies
• 37:21
  still
• 37:22
  use
• 37:22
  them
• 37:22
  as
• 37:22
  a
• 37:22
  standard
• 37:23
  because
• 37:23
  they
• 37:24
  go,
• 37:24
  oh,
• 37:24
  I
• 37:24
  Want
• 37:24
  to
• 37:24
  have
• 37:25
  these
• 37:25
  pretty
• 37:25
  drawers?
• 37:25
  I
• 37:26
  get
• 37:26
  it,
• 37:26
  they
• 37:26
  look
• 37:26
  beautiful,
• 37:27
  they're
• 37:27
  heavy
• 37:27
  duty,
• 37:28
  but
• 37:28
  are
• 37:29
  they
• 37:29
  needed?
• 37:30
  Not
• 37:30
  really.
• 37:30
  If
• 37:31
  you're
• 37:31
  using
• 37:31
  good
• 37:31
  quality
• 37:32
  hardware,
• 37:32
  you
• 37:33
  don't
• 37:33
  need
• 37:33
  to
• 37:33
  waste
• 37:33
  the
• 37:33
  money
• 37:33
  on
• 37:34
  it.
• 37:34
  Spend
• 37:34
  it
• 37:34
  on
• 37:35
  your
• 37:35
  finish,
• 37:35
  spend
• 37:36
  it
• 37:36
  on
• 37:36
  better
• 37:36
  appliances.
• 37:37
  Spend
• 37:37
  it
• 37:38
  on
• 37:38
  it
• 37:38
  can
• 37:38
  cost
• 37:38
  you
• 37:39
  a
• 37:39
  hundred
• 37:39
  bucks
• 37:39
  or
• 37:39
  so
• 37:39
  a
• 37:40
  drawer
• 37:40
  for
• 37:40
  that
• 37:41
  upgrade.
• 37:42
  And
• 37:42
  if
• 37:42
  you've
• 37:42
  got
• 37:42
  30
• 37:43
  or
• 37:43
  40
• 37:43
  drawers,
• 37:44
  that
• 37:44
  can
• 37:44
  be
• 37:45
  a
• 37:45
  pretty
• 37:45
  penny
• 37:46
  and
• 37:46
  you're
• 37:46
  not
• 37:47
  going
• 37:47
  to
• 37:47
  get
• 37:47
  any
• 37:47
  value
• 37:47
  out
• 37:48
  of
• 37:48
  it.
• 37:48
  Other
• 37:48
  it's
• 37:49
  going
• 37:49
  to
• 37:49
  look
• 37:49
  and
• 37:49
  feel
• 37:49
  good.
• 37:50
  So
• 37:50
  something
• 37:51
  to
• 37:52
  consider.
• 37:53
  All
• 37:53
  right,
• 37:54
  here's
• 37:54
  the
• 37:54
  thing.
• 37:56
  The
• 37:56
  next
• 37:56
  one
• 37:56
  here
• 37:56
  is
• 37:57
  a
• 37:57
  big
• 37:57
  one
• 37:57
  and
• 37:57
  it's
• 37:58
  a
• 37:58
  super
• 37:58
  important
• 37:58
  one.
• 37:59
  We're
• 37:59
  going
• 37:59
  to
• 37:59
  lightning
• 37:59
  round
• 38:00
  through
• 38:00
  these
• 38:00
  things,
• 38:01
  avoiding
• 38:02
  overloading
• 38:03
  small
• 38:03
  spaces.
• 38:04
  Here's
• 38:05
  the
• 38:05
  thing.
• 38:05
  More
• 38:06
  isn't
• 38:06
  always
• 38:06
  better.
• 38:08
  Cramming
• 38:09
  in
• 38:09
  too
• 38:09
  many
• 38:09
  of
• 38:09
  those
• 38:09
  accessories
• 38:10
  or
• 38:10
  cabinets
• 38:11
  into
• 38:11
  a
• 38:11
  small
• 38:11
  kitchen
• 38:11
  or
• 38:12
  bathroom
• 38:12
  can
• 38:12
  make
• 38:13
  it
• 38:13
  feel
• 38:13
  cluttered
• 38:14
  and
• 38:14
  chaotic.
• 38:16
  Simplicity
• 38:17
  often
• 38:17
  leads
• 38:17
  to
• 38:18
  better
• 38:18
  organization
• 38:19
  and
• 38:19
  a
• 38:20
  much
• 38:20
  cleaner
• 38:20
  and
• 38:21
  refined
• 38:21
  look.
• 38:23
  So
• 38:23
  spend
• 38:23
  some
• 38:23
  time
• 38:24
  with
• 38:24
  your
• 38:24
  designer,
• 38:25
  work
• 38:25
  with
• 38:25
  them,
• 38:26
  prioritizing
• 38:27
  what
• 38:27
  you
• 38:27
  need.
• 38:28
  Where
• 38:28
  are
• 38:29
  things
• 38:29
  going?
• 38:30
  I
• 38:30
  just
• 38:30
  saw
• 38:30
  a
• 38:31
  post
• 38:31
  this
• 38:31
  last
• 38:31
  weekend
• 38:32
  on
• 38:32
  this
• 38:32
  group.
• 38:33
  It
• 38:33
  was
• 38:33
  really
• 38:34
  cool.
• 38:34
  But
• 38:34
  the
• 38:35
  homeowner
• 38:35
  was
• 38:35
  struggling
• 38:36
  because
• 38:36
  I
• 38:36
  don't
• 38:36
  think
• 38:36
  they
• 38:37
  had
• 38:37
  a
• 38:37
  designer
• 38:37
  involved
• 38:38
  in
• 38:38
  it
• 38:38
  if
• 38:38
  I
• 38:38
  was
• 38:38
  going
• 38:38
  to
• 38:39
  guess.
• 38:39
  And
• 38:40
  they
• 38:40
  couldn't
• 38:41
  store
• 38:41
  things
• 38:41
  in
• 38:41
  their
• 38:41
  corner
• 38:42
  cabinets
• 38:42
  like
• 38:42
  they
• 38:42
  did
• 38:42
  with
• 38:43
  their
• 38:43
  old
• 38:43
  kitchen.
• 38:43
  And
• 38:43
  they
• 38:43
  were
• 38:44
  hoping
• 38:44
  to
• 38:44
  reuse
• 38:45
  the
• 38:45
  old
• 38:45
  hardware.
• 38:47
  No,
• 38:48
  never
• 38:48
  reuse
• 38:48
  an
• 38:48
  old
• 38:49
  hardware
• 38:49
  in
• 38:49
  a
• 38:49
  kitchen.
• 38:50
  But
• 38:50
  really
• 38:51
  spending
• 38:51
  that
• 38:51
  time
• 38:52
  to
• 38:53
  not
• 38:53
  overdo
• 38:54
  that
• 38:54
  small
• 38:54
  space.
• 38:55
  Sometimes
• 38:56
  too
• 38:56
  many
• 38:56
  accessories,
• 38:57
  they
• 38:58
  get
• 38:58
  taken
• 38:58
  out
• 38:58
  and
• 38:58
  thrown
• 38:59
  away.
• 38:59
  It's
• 38:59
  just
• 38:59
  like
• 39:00
  those
• 39:00
  tip
• 39:00
  out
• 39:00
  drawer
• 39:00
  fronts
• 39:01
  that
• 39:01
  you
• 39:01
  could
• 39:01
  put
• 39:01
  the
• 39:01
  little
• 39:02
  sponge
• 39:03
  and
• 39:03
  soap
• 39:03
  things
• 39:03
  in.
• 39:04
  They're
• 39:04
  cute,
• 39:05
  adorable.
• 39:05
  But
• 39:06
  many
• 39:06
  of
• 39:06
  the
• 39:06
  new
• 39:06
  sinks
• 39:07
  are
• 39:07
  so
• 39:07
  big
• 39:07
  you
• 39:07
  can't
• 39:08
  don't
• 39:08
  have
• 39:08
  space
• 39:09
  to
• 39:09
  put
• 39:09
  them
• 39:09
  in
• 39:09
  there
• 39:10
  so
• 39:10
  many
• 39:11
  times.
• 39:11
  Probably
• 39:11
  the
• 39:12
  last
• 39:12
  10
• 39:12
  of
• 39:13
  those
• 39:13
  I
• 39:13
  sold
• 39:14
  later
• 39:14
  on
• 39:15
  even
• 39:15
  though
• 39:15
  I
• 39:15
  tried
• 39:15
  to
• 39:15
  talk
• 39:16
  the
• 39:16
  homeowner
• 39:16
  out
• 39:16
  of
• 39:16
  it.
• 39:17
  Most
• 39:17
  of
• 39:17
  those
• 39:17
  were
• 39:18
  out
• 39:18
  in
• 39:18
  the
• 39:18
  garage
• 39:19
  in
• 39:19
  a
• 39:19
  storage
• 39:19
  bin
• 39:20
  because
• 39:21
  they
• 39:21
  didn't
• 39:21
  work
• 39:22
  so
• 39:22
  many
• 39:22
  times.
• 39:23
  These
• 39:23
  expensive
• 39:24
  accessories
• 39:25
  can
• 39:26
  be
• 39:26
  troublesome.
• 39:27
  Now
• 39:27
  corner
• 39:28
  cabinets,
• 39:28
  you're
• 39:28
  trying
• 39:28
  to
• 39:28
  get
• 39:28
  use
• 39:29
  out
• 39:29
  of
• 39:29
  those.
• 39:29
  I
• 39:29
  get
• 39:29
  it
• 39:30
  all
• 39:30
  day
• 39:30
  long.
• 39:30
  Tray
• 39:31
  dividers
• 39:31
  for
• 39:32
  cookie
• 39:32
  sheets
• 39:32
  and
• 39:32
  cutting
• 39:33
  boards.
• 39:33
  Super
• 39:34
  smart.
• 39:35
  But
• 39:35
  some
• 39:35
  of
• 39:36
  these
• 39:36
  other
• 39:36
  issues
• 39:37
  that
• 39:37
  you
• 39:38
  get.
• 39:38
  I
• 39:38
  would
• 39:39
  much
• 39:39
  rather
• 39:39
  do
• 39:39
  drawers
• 39:40
  than
• 39:40
  pullouts,
• 39:41
  pull
• 39:42
  outs.
• 39:42
  When
• 39:42
  you
• 39:42
  have
• 39:42
  a
• 39:43
  30
• 39:43
  inch
• 39:43
  wide
• 39:44
  rollout
• 39:45
  tray
• 39:45
  or
• 39:45
  a
• 39:45
  rollout
• 39:46
  drawer
• 39:46
  underneath
• 39:47
  there,
• 39:47
  you
• 39:47
  have
• 39:47
  to
• 39:47
  open
• 39:47
  two
• 39:48
  doors,
• 39:49
  takes
• 39:49
  two
• 39:49
  hands,
• 39:50
  pull
• 39:50
  a
• 39:50
  drawer
• 39:50
  out.
• 39:51
  I
• 39:51
  would
• 39:51
  much
• 39:52
  rather
• 39:52
  just
• 39:52
  have
• 39:52
  A
• 39:52
  drawer
• 39:53
  front
• 39:53
  that
• 39:53
  I
• 39:53
  could
• 39:53
  grab
• 39:54
  with
• 39:54
  one
• 39:54
  hand
• 39:54
  and
• 39:54
  get
• 39:55
  to
• 39:55
  the
• 39:55
  stuff.
• 39:56
  Less
• 39:56
  movement,
• 39:57
  less
• 39:57
  parts
• 39:58
  and
• 39:58
  you
• 39:59
  get
• 39:59
  more
• 39:59
  storage
• 39:59
  that
• 40:00
  way.
• 40:00
  So
• 40:01
  that
• 40:01
  works
• 40:01
  pretty
• 40:01
  well.
• 40:02
  Now
• 40:02
  I
• 40:02
  do
• 40:02
  like
• 40:03
  to
• 40:03
  have
• 40:03
  one
• 40:03
  cabinetry
• 40:04
  that
• 40:04
  you
• 40:04
  can
• 40:04
  adjust
• 40:04
  a
• 40:04
  shelf
• 40:05
  in
• 40:05
  or
• 40:05
  something
• 40:05
  for
• 40:05
  those
• 40:06
  goofy,
• 40:06
  awkward
• 40:07
  pieces.
• 40:08
  But
• 40:08
  really
• 40:08
  having
• 40:09
  the
• 40:09
  right
• 40:09
  parts
• 40:09
  here
• 40:10
  of
• 40:10
  accessories,
• 40:11
  there's
• 40:12
  a
• 40:12
  balance
• 40:12
  of
• 40:12
  having
• 40:12
  too
• 40:13
  many
• 40:13
  things
• 40:13
  and
• 40:14
  too
• 40:14
  many
• 40:14
  tchotchkes
• 40:15
  in
• 40:15
  there.
• 40:15
  You
• 40:16
  want
• 40:16
  it
• 40:16
  to
• 40:16
  work
• 40:16
  well,
• 40:17
  you
• 40:17
  want
• 40:17
  it
• 40:17
  to
• 40:17
  function,
• 40:18
  but
• 40:19
  doing
• 40:19
  too
• 40:19
  much,
• 40:20
  you
• 40:20
  can
• 40:20
  jump
• 40:20
  the
• 40:20
  shark
• 40:21
  in
• 40:21
  that
• 40:21
  kitchen
• 40:21
  and
• 40:21
  create
• 40:22
  bigger
• 40:22
  issues.
• 40:24
  Now
• 40:24
  the
• 40:24
  next
• 40:25
  one
• 40:25
  here
• 40:25
  is
• 40:25
  important.
• 40:26
  Budget
• 40:26
  wisely,
• 40:27
  but
• 40:27
  don't
• 40:27
  cut
• 40:28
  corners.
• 40:29
  Cabinetry
• 40:30
  is
• 40:30
  a
• 40:30
  massive
• 40:30
  investment.
• 40:32
  So
• 40:32
  set
• 40:32
  a
• 40:32
  realistic
• 40:33
  budget.
• 40:34
  But
• 40:34
  here's
• 40:35
  the
• 40:35
  deal.
• 40:35
  Cutting
• 40:35
  corners
• 40:36
  on
• 40:36
  quality
• 40:36
  to
• 40:36
  save
• 40:36
  a
• 40:37
  few
• 40:37
  bucks.
• 40:37
  It's
• 40:38
  going
• 40:38
  to
• 40:38
  cost
• 40:38
  you
• 40:38
  so
• 40:39
  much
• 40:39
  more
• 40:39
  down
• 40:40
  the
• 40:40
  road.
• 40:41
  If
• 40:41
  you're
• 40:42
  on
• 40:42
  a
• 40:42
  tight
• 40:42
  budget,
• 40:43
  consider
• 40:44
  that
• 40:44
  semi
• 40:45
  custom
• 40:45
  option.
• 40:46
  And
• 40:46
  you
• 40:46
  don't
• 40:46
  have
• 40:46
  to
• 40:46
  go
• 40:47
  to
• 40:47
  the
• 40:47
  home
• 40:47
  center
• 40:47
  if
• 40:48
  you
• 40:48
  don't
• 40:48
  want
• 40:48
  to
• 40:48
  deal
• 40:48
  with
• 40:48
  the
• 40:48
  home
• 40:49
  center.
• 40:49
  And
• 40:49
  yes,
• 40:49
  many
• 40:50
  home
• 40:50
  centers
• 40:51
  have
• 40:51
  inexperienced
• 40:52
  designers.
• 40:52
  They
• 40:52
  could
• 40:52
  have
• 40:53
  been
• 40:53
  the
• 40:53
  garden
• 40:53
  expert
• 40:54
  last
• 40:54
  week.
• 40:55
  There
• 40:55
  are
• 40:55
  some
• 40:56
  good
• 40:56
  ones
• 40:56
  in
• 40:56
  there
• 40:56
  if
• 40:57
  you
• 40:57
  know
• 40:57
  how
• 40:57
  to
• 40:57
  find
• 40:57
  them.
• 40:58
  But
• 40:58
  many
• 40:59
  times
• 40:59
  that
• 40:59
  independent
• 41:00
  dealer,
• 41:01
  that
• 41:01
  is
• 41:01
  the
• 41:01
  craft
• 41:02
  made
• 41:02
  or
• 41:02
  American
• 41:03
  woodmark
• 41:03
  or
• 41:04
  whatever
• 41:04
  brand
• 41:04
  you're
• 41:05
  looking
• 41:05
  at
• 41:05
  out
• 41:05
  there,
• 41:06
  that
• 41:07
  independent
• 41:07
  dealer
• 41:08
  can
• 41:08
  probably
• 41:08
  get
• 41:08
  you
• 41:09
  the
• 41:09
  cabinetry
• 41:09
  for
• 41:10
  about
• 41:10
  the
• 41:10
  same
• 41:10
  price
• 41:11
  as
• 41:11
  the
• 41:11
  home
• 41:11
  center.
• 41:12
  Now
• 41:12
  the
• 41:13
  home
• 41:13
  centers
• 41:13
  have,
• 41:14
  they
• 41:14
  have
• 41:15
  the
• 41:15
  buying
• 41:15
  power,
• 41:15
  but
• 41:16
  it's
• 41:16
  not
• 41:16
  all
• 41:16
  about
• 41:17
  the
• 41:17
  buying
• 41:17
  power.
• 41:18
  Here's
• 41:19
  the
• 41:19
  secret
• 41:19
  with
• 41:19
  home
• 41:20
  centers
• 41:20
  and
• 41:20
  how
• 41:20
  they
• 41:20
  buy
• 41:21
  cabinetry.
• 41:22
  They
• 41:22
  will
• 41:22
  work
• 41:22
  out
• 41:23
  a
• 41:23
  deal
• 41:23
  because
• 41:23
  they've
• 41:23
  got
• 41:24
  maybe
• 41:24
  a
• 41:24
  thousand
• 41:25
  stores.
• 41:25
  Let's
• 41:25
  just
• 41:25
  pick
• 41:26
  a
• 41:26
  round
• 41:26
  number.
• 41:26
  They
• 41:26
  got
• 41:26
  a
• 41:27
  thousand
• 41:27
  stores
• 41:27
  across
• 41:27
  the
• 41:28
  U.S.
• 41:29
  well,
• 41:29
  they
• 41:29
  demand
• 41:29
  of
• 41:29
  these
• 41:30
  national
• 41:30
  companies
• 41:30
  that
• 41:31
  you
• 41:31
  need
• 41:31
  to
• 41:31
  have
• 41:31
  a
• 41:31
  rep
• 41:31
  in
• 41:32
  the
• 41:32
  store
• 41:33
  two
• 41:33
  to
• 41:33
  two
• 41:34
  days
• 41:34
  each
• 41:34
  month
• 41:35
  or
• 41:35
  whatever
• 41:35
  the
• 41:35
  rules
• 41:36
  that
• 41:36
  they
• 41:36
  set
• 41:36
  for
• 41:37
  that.
• 41:37
  But
• 41:37
  the
• 41:38
  problem
• 41:38
  is
• 41:38
  many,
• 41:38
  it's
• 41:39
  out
• 41:39
  many
• 41:39
  times
• 41:39
  out
• 41:40
  in
• 41:40
  the
• 41:40
  middle
• 41:40
  of
• 41:40
  nowhere.
• 41:40
  Maybe
• 41:40
  it's
• 41:41
  out
• 41:41
  in
• 41:42
  a
• 41:42
  small
• 41:42
  town
• 41:42
  in
• 41:42
  North
• 41:42
  Dakota
• 41:43
  where
• 41:43
  the
• 41:43
  home
• 41:43
  center
• 41:44
  is.
• 41:44
  They
• 41:44
  have
• 41:45
  to
• 41:45
  put
• 41:45
  a
• 41:45
  rep
• 41:45
  in
• 41:45
  that
• 41:46
  town
• 41:46
  or
• 41:47
  they
• 41:47
  have
• 41:47
  to
• 41:47
  fly
• 41:47
  one
• 41:48
  in
• 41:49
  and
• 41:49
  they're
• 41:49
  usually
• 41:50
  asking
• 41:50
  for
• 41:50
  free
• 41:51
  or
• 41:51
  very
• 41:51
  discounted
• 41:52
  displays
• 41:53
  that
• 41:53
  have
• 41:53
  to
• 41:53
  be
• 41:53
  updated
• 41:54
  every
• 41:54
  few
• 41:54
  years.
• 41:55
  So
• 41:56
  many
• 41:56
  times
• 41:57
  that
• 41:57
  home
• 41:58
  center
• 41:58
  is
• 41:58
  buying
• 41:59
  at
• 41:59
  a
• 41:59
  price
• 42:00
  that's
• 42:00
  very
• 42:01
  similar
• 42:01
  to
• 42:02
  the
• 42:02
  custom
• 42:02
  cabinet
• 42:03
  dealer
• 42:03
  across
• 42:04
  the
• 42:04
  street.
• 42:05
  They
• 42:05
  could
• 42:05
  be
• 42:05
  building
• 42:05
  their
• 42:06
  own
• 42:06
  cabinets.
• 42:06
  They
• 42:06
  could
• 42:07
  be
• 42:07
  just
• 42:07
  a
• 42:07
  design
• 42:07
  firm
• 42:08
  that
• 42:08
  has
• 42:08
  four
• 42:08
  or
• 42:08
  five
• 42:09
  brands,
• 42:10
  any
• 42:10
  one
• 42:10
  of
• 42:10
  those
• 42:10
  things.
• 42:12
  But
• 42:12
  that's
• 42:12
  what
• 42:12
  you
• 42:13
  want
• 42:13
  to
• 42:13
  work
• 42:13
  together
• 42:14
  with
• 42:14
  if
• 42:15
  you're
• 42:15
  under
• 42:15
  a
• 42:15
  Tight
• 42:16
  budget.
• 42:16
  Take
• 42:16
  a
• 42:17
  look
• 42:17
  at
• 42:17
  those
• 42:17
  national
• 42:17
  brands.
• 42:18
  And
• 42:19
  don't
• 42:19
  worry,
• 42:19
  that
• 42:20
  small
• 42:20
  retailer
• 42:21
  can
• 42:21
  probably
• 42:21
  buy
• 42:22
  them
• 42:22
  at
• 42:22
  the
• 42:22
  same
• 42:22
  or
• 42:23
  even
• 42:23
  better
• 42:23
  than
• 42:23
  the
• 42:23
  home
• 42:24
  centers
• 42:24
  because
• 42:24
  they're
• 42:25
  not
• 42:25
  demanding
• 42:25
  all
• 42:25
  those
• 42:26
  things.
• 42:27
  So
• 42:27
  take
• 42:27
  a
• 42:27
  look,
• 42:28
  you
• 42:28
  might
• 42:28
  be
• 42:28
  surprised.
• 42:29
  And
• 42:29
  the
• 42:30
  quality
• 42:30
  of
• 42:30
  finish
• 42:30
  of
• 42:31
  many
• 42:31
  of
• 42:31
  those
• 42:31
  brands
• 42:31
  are
• 42:32
  going
• 42:32
  to
• 42:32
  be
• 42:32
  better
• 42:32
  than
• 42:32
  some
• 42:33
  of
• 42:33
  the
• 42:33
  stuff
• 42:33
  that
• 42:33
  you're
• 42:33
  probably
• 42:34
  out
• 42:34
  looking
• 42:34
  at.
• 42:34
  So
• 42:35
  be
• 42:35
  careful
• 42:35
  with
• 42:35
  that.
• 42:36
  Now,
• 42:37
  the
• 42:37
  last
• 42:37
  one
• 42:37
  here
• 42:38
  is
• 42:38
  asking
• 42:39
  the
• 42:39
  right
• 42:39
  questions.
• 42:41
  Don't
• 42:41
  be
• 42:41
  afraid
• 42:41
  to
• 42:42
  grill
• 42:42
  your
• 42:42
  designer
• 42:43
  about
• 42:43
  lead
• 42:43
  times,
• 42:44
  warranty,
• 42:45
  installation,
• 42:46
  maintenance
• 42:46
  requirements.
• 42:48
  So
• 42:48
  these
• 42:48
  are
• 42:49
  things
• 42:49
  that
• 42:49
  you
• 42:49
  want
• 42:49
  to
• 42:50
  do
• 42:50
  and
• 42:51
  make
• 42:51
  sure
• 42:51
  you
• 42:51
  understand
• 42:51
  it.
• 42:52
  At
• 42:52
  the
• 42:53
  end
• 42:53
  of
• 42:53
  the
• 42:53
  project
• 42:53
  when
• 42:54
  it's
• 42:54
  all
• 42:54
  done,
• 42:54
  make
• 42:54
  sure
• 42:55
  you
• 42:55
  understand
• 42:55
  what
• 42:56
  you
• 42:56
  can
• 42:56
  clean
• 42:56
  those
• 42:57
  cabinets.
• 42:57
  Cabinets
• 42:58
  with.
• 42:59
  Many
• 42:59
  times
• 43:00
  what
• 43:00
  happens
• 43:00
  is
• 43:00
  people
• 43:01
  go
• 43:01
  in
• 43:01
  there,
• 43:01
  they
• 43:02
  get
• 43:02
  out
• 43:02
  the
• 43:02
  magic
• 43:03
  eraser,
• 43:03
  which
• 43:03
  is
• 43:04
  just
• 43:04
  1600
• 43:05
  grit
• 43:05
  sandpaper.
• 43:05
  They
• 43:06
  dull
• 43:06
  the
• 43:06
  finish
• 43:06
  up
• 43:07
  or
• 43:07
  polish
• 43:07
  it,
• 43:07
  depending
• 43:08
  on
• 43:08
  what
• 43:08
  the
• 43:08
  finish
• 43:08
  is.
• 43:09
  And
• 43:09
  more
• 43:10
  importantly,
• 43:10
  what
• 43:10
  I
• 43:11
  see,
• 43:11
  and
• 43:11
  this
• 43:11
  is
• 43:11
  where
• 43:11
  it
• 43:12
  goes
• 43:12
  sideways,
• 43:13
  is
• 43:13
  they'll
• 43:13
  take
• 43:13
  Windex
• 43:14
  or
• 43:14
  something
• 43:14
  like
• 43:15
  that
• 43:15
  with
• 43:15
  Ammonium,
• 43:15
  that
• 43:16
  will
• 43:16
  break
• 43:16
  the
• 43:16
  finish
• 43:16
  down.
• 43:17
  Some
• 43:18
  cabinetry
• 43:18
  finishes
• 43:19
  don't
• 43:19
  like
• 43:19
  ammonia.
• 43:20
  That
• 43:20
  actually
• 43:21
  is
• 43:21
  what
• 43:21
  they
• 43:21
  can
• 43:21
  use
• 43:22
  to
• 43:22
  break
• 43:22
  the
• 43:23
  finish
• 43:23
  down
• 43:23
  and
• 43:23
  they
• 43:23
  clean
• 43:24
  their
• 43:24
  equipment
• 43:24
  with.
• 43:24
  So
• 43:25
  you
• 43:25
  need
• 43:25
  to
• 43:25
  be
• 43:25
  careful,
• 43:26
  understand
• 43:27
  what
• 43:27
  you
• 43:27
  can
• 43:28
  do
• 43:28
  to
• 43:28
  clean
• 43:28
  that
• 43:29
  and
• 43:29
  what
• 43:29
  you
• 43:30
  can
• 43:30
  do
• 43:31
  to
• 43:31
  really
• 43:31
  get
• 43:32
  it
• 43:32
  dialed
• 43:32
  in
• 43:33
  without
• 43:33
  hurting
• 43:33
  it.
• 43:34
  Many
• 43:34
  times,
• 43:34
  just
• 43:35
  a
• 43:35
  simple
• 43:36
  damp
• 43:36
  paper
• 43:36
  towel
• 43:37
  will
• 43:38
  go
• 43:38
  through
• 43:39
  and
• 43:40
  get
• 43:40
  it
• 43:40
  cleaned
• 43:41
  up
• 43:41
  and
• 43:41
  it's
• 43:41
  good
• 43:41
  enough.
• 43:42
  But
• 43:43
  really
• 43:43
  making
• 43:43
  sure
• 43:44
  you're
• 43:44
  using
• 43:44
  your
• 43:44
  range
• 43:45
  hood,
• 43:45
  you're
• 43:45
  keeping
• 43:45
  the
• 43:45
  cabinets
• 43:46
  clean.
• 43:47
  If
• 43:47
  you
• 43:47
  get
• 43:47
  water
• 43:47
  on
• 43:47
  them
• 43:48
  by
• 43:48
  the
• 43:48
  sink,
• 43:48
  take
• 43:49
  a
• 43:49
  towel
• 43:49
  and
• 43:49
  wipe
• 43:50
  it
• 43:50
  off
• 43:50
  real
• 43:50
  quick.
• 43:51
  Don't
• 43:51
  sand
• 43:52
  those
• 43:52
  finishes
• 43:52
  down.
• 43:52
  And
• 43:53
  you're
• 43:53
  gonna
• 43:53
  have
• 43:53
  a
• 43:53
  beautiful
• 43:53
  kitchen
• 43:54
  that
• 43:54
  could
• 43:54
  last
• 43:54
  you
• 43:55
  decades.
• 43:56
  Nobody
• 43:56
  wants
• 43:56
  to
• 43:57
  do
• 43:57
  this
• 43:57
  twice.
• 43:57
  And
• 43:57
  yes,
• 43:58
  I
• 43:58
  have
• 43:59
  had
• 43:59
  homeowners
• 44:00
  that
• 44:01
  have
• 44:01
  had
• 44:01
  their
• 44:01
  cleaning
• 44:02
  people
• 44:02
  go
• 44:02
  through
• 44:03
  and
• 44:03
  they
• 44:03
  use
• 44:03
  the
• 44:03
  magic
• 44:04
  eraser.
• 44:04
  And
• 44:05
  after
• 44:05
  a
• 44:05
  year,
• 44:06
  you've
• 44:06
  sanded
• 44:07
  through
• 44:07
  the
• 44:07
  entire
• 44:08
  cabinetry
• 44:08
  and
• 44:08
  the
• 44:08
  finish
• 44:09
  is
• 44:09
  bad,
• 44:09
  and
• 44:09
  they
• 44:09
  call
• 44:09
  for
• 44:10
  the
• 44:10
  warranty
• 44:10
  and
• 44:10
  you're
• 44:10
  like,
• 44:10
  what
• 44:10
  are
• 44:11
  you
• 44:11
  using
• 44:11
  to
• 44:11
  clean
• 44:11
  it
• 44:11
  with?
• 44:12
  And
• 44:12
  you
• 44:12
  can
• 44:12
  see
• 44:13
  they
• 44:13
  have
• 44:13
  that
• 44:13
  white
• 44:14
  piece
• 44:14
  of
• 44:14
  sandpaper,
• 44:14
  as
• 44:15
  I
• 44:15
  call
• 44:15
  it,
• 44:16
  and
• 44:16
  they've
• 44:17
  went
• 44:17
  through
• 44:17
  the
• 44:17
  entire
• 44:18
  top
• 44:18
  coat
• 44:18
  into
• 44:18
  the
• 44:19
  color
• 44:19
  coat.
• 44:19
  And
• 44:19
  it
• 44:20
  looks
• 44:20
  like
• 44:20
  somebody
• 44:20
  wet
• 44:20
  sanded
• 44:21
  the
• 44:21
  car
• 44:21
  and
• 44:22
  you
• 44:22
  got
• 44:22
  a
• 44:22
  heck
• 44:22
  of
• 44:22
  a
• 44:22
  mess.
• 44:23
  And
• 44:23
  the
• 44:23
  only
• 44:23
  way
• 44:24
  to
• 44:24
  do
• 44:24
  it
• 44:24
  is
• 44:24
  to
• 44:25
  put
• 44:25
  a
• 44:25
  lower
• 44:25
  quality
• 44:26
  finish
• 44:26
  out
• 44:26
  in
• 44:26
  the
• 44:27
  field.
• 44:27
  So
• 44:28
  things
• 44:28
  to
• 44:28
  consider
• 44:29
  out
• 44:29
  there,
• 44:30
  things
• 44:30
  that
• 44:30
  we
• 44:30
  didn't
• 44:31
  talk
• 44:31
  about
• 44:31
  today.
• 44:31
  And
• 44:31
  again,
• 44:32
  this
• 44:32
  is
• 44:32
  my
• 44:33
  ten
• 44:33
  commandments.
• 44:34
  But
• 44:34
  really
• 44:35
  paying
• 44:35
  attention
• 44:35
  to
• 44:36
  the
• 44:36
  details
• 44:36
  and
• 44:37
  understanding
• 44:38
  that
• 44:38
  the
• 44:38
  cabinetry
• 44:39
  is
• 44:39
  beautiful.
• 44:40
  But
• 44:40
  you
• 44:40
  also
• 44:40
  need
• 44:41
  to
• 44:41
  have
• 44:41
  a
• 44:41
  great
• 44:41
  installer
• 44:42
  to
• 44:43
  put
• 44:43
  it
• 44:43
  in
• 44:44
  that
• 44:44
  installation.
• 44:45
  People
• 44:46
  are
• 44:46
  the
• 44:46
  people
• 44:46
  that
• 44:46
  are
• 44:47
  going
• 44:47
  to
• 44:47
  take
• 44:47
  those
• 44:47
  pieces
• 44:48
  and
• 44:48
  put
• 44:49
  together
• 44:49
  your
• 44:49
  Tinker
• 44:50
  toy
• 44:50
  set
• 44:50
  here
• 44:51
  of
• 44:51
  cabinetry.
• 44:52
  They're
• 44:52
  going
• 44:52
  to
• 44:52
  put
• 44:52
  the
• 44:53
  crown
• 44:53
  molding
• 44:53
  in
• 44:53
  and
• 44:54
  that's
• 44:54
  where
• 44:54
  that
• 44:54
  designer
• 44:55
  should
• 44:55
  be
• 44:55
  working
• 44:56
  with
• 44:56
  the
• 44:56
  installer.
• 44:57
  That's
• 44:58
  the
• 44:58
  one
• 44:58
  that
• 44:58
  you
• 44:58
  should
• 44:58
  have
• 44:58
  paid
• 44:58
  in
• 44:59
  the
• 44:59
  beginning
• 44:59
  to
• 44:59
  be
• 44:59
  as
• 44:59
  part
• 45:00
  of
• 45:00
  this
• 45:00
  project.
• 45:01
  That
• 45:01
  installer
• 45:01
  needs
• 45:02
  to
• 45:02
  be
• 45:02
  high
• 45:03
  quality.
• 45:04
  A
• 45:04
  good
• 45:04
  installer
• 45:05
  will
• 45:05
  put
• 45:05
  the
• 45:05
  cabinets
• 45:06
  in
• 45:06
  and
• 45:06
  you
• 45:06
  have
• 45:06
  a
• 45:07
  lot
• 45:07
  less
• 45:07
  issues
• 45:08
  down
• 45:08
  the
• 45:08
  road.
• 45:09
  So
• 45:09
  take
• 45:09
  the
• 45:09
  time,
• 45:10
  have
• 45:10
  the
• 45:10
  right
• 45:11
  team,
• 45:11
  that's
• 45:12
  the
• 45:12
  designer,
• 45:13
  the
• 45:13
  installer,
• 45:14
  the
• 45:14
  cabinetry
• 45:15
  maker
• 45:16
  or
• 45:16
  dealer.
• 45:17
  Then
• 45:17
  you're
• 45:18
  going
• 45:18
  to
• 45:18
  be
• 45:18
  good
• 45:18
  to
• 45:18
  go
• 45:19
  and
• 45:19
  understanding
• 45:20
  what
• 45:21
  goes
• 45:21
  into
• 45:21
  these
• 45:21
  cabinets
• 45:22
  and
• 45:23
  taking
• 45:23
  the
• 45:23
  time.
• 45:24
  But
• 45:24
  don't
• 45:25
  force
• 45:25
  too
• 45:25
  many
• 45:26
  issues
• 45:26
  here.
• 45:27
  You
• 45:27
  can
• 45:27
  be
• 45:27
  a
• 45:28
  nightmare
• 45:28
  client
• 45:29
  as
• 45:29
  well
• 45:29
  by
• 45:30
  trying
• 45:30
  to
• 45:30
  say,
• 45:30
  hey,
• 45:31
  I
• 45:31
  want
• 45:31
  this
• 45:31
  finish,
• 45:32
  I
• 45:32
  want
• 45:32
  that.
• 45:33
  You
• 45:33
  want
• 45:33
  them
• 45:34
  to
• 45:34
  deal
• 45:34
  with
• 45:34
  what
• 45:34
  they're
• 45:35
  good
• 45:35
  at.
• 45:35
  I
• 45:35
  never
• 45:36
  want
• 45:36
  to
• 45:36
  ask
• 45:36
  a
• 45:37
  custom
• 45:37
  cabinet
• 45:38
  shop
• 45:38
  to
• 45:38
  do
• 45:38
  something
• 45:38
  different
• 45:39
  in
• 45:39
  the
• 45:39
  finish
• 45:39
  department
• 45:40
  they've
• 45:40
  never
• 45:40
  done
• 45:41
  because
• 45:41
  there's
• 45:42
  an
• 45:42
  experiment
• 45:43
  and
• 45:43
  the
• 45:43
  more
• 45:43
  you
• 45:43
  push
• 45:44
  them
• 45:44
  with
• 45:44
  weird
• 45:44
  things,
• 45:45
  the
• 45:45
  more
• 45:45
  you
• 45:46
  could
• 45:46
  be
• 45:46
  responsible
• 45:47
  for
• 45:47
  and
• 45:47
  they
• 45:47
  might
• 45:47
  not
• 45:48
  have
• 45:48
  a
• 45:48
  good
• 45:48
  fix.
• 45:49
  I'm
• 45:49
  Eric

  G.
