A tiny paper cut shouldn't be a big deal, yet suddenly my index finger seemed involved in everything I did. That small irritation became a reminder of how rarely we appreciate the parts of life that simply work. We immediately notice pain, discomfort and problems, but often overlook everything that isn't hurting or causing us trouble. Sometimes it takes something very small going wrong to remind us how much is actually going right.
