Latest / Mom Street USA / 38. One Day Park Strategies - Disneyland & DCA
Transcript
- 0:00Welcome everybody to Mom St. USA.
- 0:02My name is Jackie aka Wishes Mama and joining me is my
- 0:05wonderful cohost Kate aka the Disney Cicerone.
- 0:08And this evening we are starting the first of a three-part
- 0:12episode series where we will be highlighting one day park
- 0:18strategies. So think about if you've only
- 0:21got one day and you want to get the most out of your day, what
- 0:24is a good strategy for that? So that's our hope is to give
- 0:28you that information so you can be be more successful on your
- 0:31trips and we're excited to share it with you tonight.
- 0:35Yeah, And this is we're we decided to break this up so that
- 0:38we do 2 parks per episode, just because that makes a nice even
- 0:42number for between Disney World and Disneyland.
- 0:45And Jackie was so kind as to say, hey Kate, maybe you should
- 0:48do Disneyland first since you're going to be headed to Europe
- 0:52soon and you probably need time to plan for that.
- 0:54And she's right. So.
- 0:56So tonight we're going to talk about Disneyland and Disney's
- 1:00California Adventure. And specifically, this is a
- 1:04little tough because. Monday strategy for California
- 1:06Adventure isn't actually not that hard, but Disneyland it's
- 1:10it's virtually impossible to see everything in Disneyland in a
- 1:12day, especially with kids. Like you're just not going to
- 1:15get to everything. So the way that I broke it up
- 1:19and everything is kind of like, here's some things you should
- 1:21probably do in the morning, afternoon and evening.
- 1:24So depending on your budget, if you are.
- 1:28Trying to save some money and you've had to scrimp and save to
- 1:31go on that trip and you just really can't do Genie Plus.
- 1:34We've got some options for you so that you're not waiting in
- 1:37line every day. And also maybe if you're like, I
- 1:39just want to save as much time as possible and I've got the
- 1:41funds for it. We've got some things for Genie
- 1:43Plus as well. Do you want to mention our Genie
- 1:46Plus episode that we recently did?
- 1:48Yeah, So just a few episodes ago we did a whole indepth dive on
- 1:53Genie Plus and how it works and what it is.
- 1:55But just a quick recap, Genie Plus is the system that you can
- 2:00purchase at Disneyland and Disney World that allows you to
- 2:05make your lines quite a bit shorter.
- 2:07So it is something that you do have to have a good strategy to
- 2:11utilize to be able to make the most out of everything that you
- 2:14would like to do. But we talked about the ins and
- 2:17outs, about how to book and when to book and modifying and all of
- 2:21that type of stuff a few episodes ago.
- 2:23So if you want that deep dive information when it comes to
- 2:26park strategy, check out that episode first and then come back
- 2:30to us. If you're someone who's watching
- 2:32this or listening to this later on after we're, you know, done
- 2:35being live, that will give you your basis of what you need to
- 2:39know. And then being able to piggyback
- 2:42onto that will be what Kate has for us tonight about the West
- 2:45Coast parks. That way we can utilize those
- 2:47that information to the best of your ability.
- 2:50Yeah, I think it was episode 35 in our Mom St.
- 2:54USA podcast. It's also on our YouTube for Mom
- 2:57St. USA.
- 2:57So either way you would like to view or listen to that podcast.
- 3:03And we have that for you. So it really is a very detailed
- 3:06episode of all the things of Genie Plus and Jackie.
- 3:10I'm gonna say it Jackie is an expert at Genie Plus.
- 3:13She's used it so many times, not just when she's gone herself,
- 3:16but also for other people. She knows exactly how to use it
- 3:20and use it well, but I actually helped our good friend tour
- 3:23guide Barbie a little bit when she was just out in Disneyland.
- 3:25Just kind of playing around, so to speak, in the app to just see
- 3:30kind of how it compares to what we, you know, she and I are
- 3:33very, very familiar with the Disney World version of that.
- 3:37And we found them to be very, very similar as far as once
- 3:41you're in it and you're booking and if you want to modify or
- 3:44adjust things, things seem to be fairly easy as far as that's
- 3:49concerned. As far as there's not a lot that
- 3:51you have to learn new if you're someone who's used to the Disney
- 3:54World system using the Disneyland system.
- 3:57Right, exactly right. So and yes, that is episode 35,
- 4:01by the way. I just wanted to double check
- 4:02and make sure that we had that right in case.
- 4:05So that way people aren't searching for it.
- 4:06I knew it wasn't too far back there, but Yep.
- 4:08Episode 35. I will say before I get started,
- 4:12I have some just general Disneyland notes.
- 4:14So I'm gonna start in Disneyland and then we'll go to DCA after
- 4:19this. I'm gonna use that for Disney's.
- 4:21Disney California venture. It used to be Disney's
- 4:22California Adventure. They dropped the S and it just.
- 4:25I'm just gonna say DCA because it's just easier for my brain.
- 4:28I had no idea they dropped the S in the name.
- 4:31Yeah, like officially. I'm trying to remember when I
- 4:33want to say 2008, 2018. I feel like there was an 8 in
- 4:36there. Anyway, they did officially drop
- 4:38the S from the name, so now it's Disney California Adventure
- 4:41because they just some people didn't.
- 4:43I don't, I don't know why. It didn't really matter either
- 4:45way. People still call it DCA, so
- 4:48it's fine. Anyway, so.
- 4:51Some general Disneyland notes as we jump into this.
- 4:55I will say that Disneyland gets progressively more busy as the
- 4:59day goes on. So it's different in Disney
- 5:01World in that way because Disneyland is a locals park.
- 5:05So the locals when they get off of work they come to Disneyland,
- 5:08which is also why it's tends to be open to like 11 or midnight.
- 5:12It's open way later than the Disney World parks.
- 5:14Although I have to say Disney World used to be open later in
- 5:17the summer. Yeah, not anymore.
- 5:20Post closure. Yeah, they've they're they, they
- 5:24shortened it a lot and then they've been slowly expanding it
- 5:27back out. And occasionally in the summer
- 5:30you will get some of those like 11:00 PM or midnight nights.
- 5:35But they also did away with those extra magic hours that
- 5:37were in the evening, which was what a lot of us remember being
- 5:40in the parks until one or two AM.
- 5:43Yeah, with that. So it feels a lot shorter now
- 5:45because we lost some of that extra time as well.
- 5:48Yeah, it's just so interesting cuz I'm so used to having all
- 5:50those. Like you go and take an extended
- 5:52break in the room and you come back and you have like the whole
- 5:54night. It's like a whole night park
- 5:55day. And that's not necessarily true
- 5:57anymore. So it's kind of a bummer, but
- 5:58anyway. Back to Disneyland.
- 6:01So because Disneyland gets progressively more busy as the
- 6:04day goes on, those morning hours are absolutely golden.
- 6:07You do not want to miss rope drop if you are visiting
- 6:10Disneyland. Obviously if you're a local and
- 6:12you're just going after work, you're not going to go in the
- 6:14morning. But this is for people who are
- 6:16visiting Disneyland. Do not miss the morning hours
- 6:19and. I will say, I know there's a lot
- 6:22of like Starbucks lovers out there, but please, please, I beg
- 6:25of you, do not waste your morning in the Starbucks line.
- 6:28Just don't do it, friends like. And I have to, you know, it's
- 6:32always like one of my biggest pet peeves.
- 6:33And of course, as soon as I go to Disney World with my husband
- 6:37Elliot, and like we're rolling up to Magic Kingdom, he's like
- 6:39the only thing. I was like, I just want to get a
- 6:41Nitro cold brew at Starbucks and walked on Main Street.
- 6:44I was like, we are not doing that first thing.
- 6:46I'm sorry. Like we will find.
- 6:48You're gonna have to wait. It's.
- 6:50Like, we will do that eventually, but we are not doing
- 6:54that right now. And I was like, that is like the
- 6:56biggest rookie mistake ever. And so yeah, come on.
- 7:01It's like, what are we doing? I'm like, no.
- 7:04Well, cuz you weren't, you didn't have kids with you, so he
- 7:06was like, we don't have to rush around as much.
- 7:09Yeah, conductor, Jackson says. Just mobile order it.
- 7:12That's wasn't an option when we were in Disney World for mobile
- 7:15order for Starbucks that we saw. So it could be in Disneyland.
- 7:18I haven't tried it at World. Just side note, you can only
- 7:21mobile order at the Disney. Springs location, yeah, that's
- 7:24what I think. I don't think any of the other
- 7:25locations in the parks allow you to mobile order.
- 7:29Yeah, yeah. And Lem says, to be fair, you
- 7:31could get Starby's before even early park entry.
- 7:34That's true. So Disneyland.
- 7:36Yes, you could get a mobile order in Disneyland if you
- 7:38arrive there super early and you have time.
- 7:40But. If you have access to any part
- 7:42of the park, don't waste your time at Starbucks.
- 7:44That's all I'm saying. Just I'm off my soapbox now,
- 7:47especially if you've only got one day.
- 7:48Because remember, we are we are on a time crunch here.
- 7:51We've only got one day to get it all in.
- 7:54Just get your coffee before you go.
- 7:55That's all. Exactly.
- 7:56You know, that's all I'm saying. Don't get coffee, just or just
- 7:59do it mid morning when it starts to get busy in the parks because
- 8:02it does usually around. 10/30/11 it gets it does start to pick up
- 8:07in the parks because those people who didn't want to get up
- 8:10early are now finally rolling into the gates.
- 8:12And that is true Disneyland Disney World.
- 8:14It's a little bit more true in Disney World than in Disneyland
- 8:17because Disneyland stays a little bit less crowds longer in
- 8:20the day. So virtually all of it's
- 8:26virtually impossible to do all of Disneyland in a day.
- 8:28I would say like if you didn't have kids.
- 8:31And you paid for all the Genie plus things and all the
- 8:33individual lightning lanes and you just wanted to go for it.
- 8:36Yeah, sure, you could do that. But we are talking about doing
- 8:39the parks with kids and that would be really tough.
- 8:45Yeah. So I will say, so also we're
- 8:50talking about mobile order, I'd also say.
- 8:52Take advantage of using mobile order for quick service.
- 8:55I think people are starting to do it now for Disneyland more.
- 8:57When it first came to Disneyland, people were not
- 8:59using it at all because the locals were just used to
- 9:01standing in line, which was so funny to me.
- 9:03So I was like, I'll just bypass them and go pick up my phone.
- 9:08But yeah, so make sure you use mobile order just as a general
- 9:12note, and also something that's different at Disneyland.
- 9:16Large portion of Fancy Land and also Toon Town closes in the
- 9:20evenings when they do fireworks, so they physically block it off
- 9:24like everything from the carousel over to the castle.
- 9:28So you can think of Mr. Toad, Peter Pan, Snow White, Pinocchio
- 9:32and the carousel itself are all completely blocked off from
- 9:35about 8:00 to 10:00 fifteen, 10:30 every night.
- 9:39So you won't have access to those rides then.
- 9:41And the same thing with Toon Town, they also close Toon Town
- 9:43around 8:00 and then open it back up around that same time.
- 9:46So take that into account as you plan.
- 9:49Don't plan to go on those attractions during that time.
- 9:52So that being said, those are my general Disneyland notes for
- 9:57strategy. And then with Genie Plus, these
- 10:00are my Genie Plus notes as we dig into a Genie Plus strategy.
- 10:05Like we said, the system works. Pretty similarly to the way it
- 10:08does at Disney World. So if you're familiar with the
- 10:10way Genie Plus works in Disney World, you're going to be like
- 10:13this is pretty much the same thing and be happy.
- 10:15But the difference is you can't book, you can't buy or book
- 10:19Genie Plus until you enter through the turnstiles.
- 10:22So you have to have to physically be in the park before
- 10:25you can book anything. Another reason you should
- 10:27probably get in the parks early because that helps with that as
- 10:30well. Absolutely, you should be able
- 10:32to do. All 12 Genie Plus rides in a
- 10:36day, except when crowds are maybe like 9:00 to 10:00, then
- 10:42you might get like 8 to 10 Genie Plus rides instead.
- 10:45So it is possible to use pretty much all of them unless they go
- 10:49down, which like Indiana Jones goes down and things like that.
- 10:52You know you might that's the thing.
- 10:54And that doesn't include the individual Lightning Lane rides,
- 10:57which in Disneyland are Rise of the Resistance and Mickey and
- 11:01Minnie's Runaway Railway. So that being said, my with my
- 11:09my recommendation is to arrive at least 40 minutes before the
- 11:14official park opening time because they don't have those
- 11:17scanners you just walk through. They physically inspect every
- 11:20single bag. So wow.
- 11:22Keep that in mind. It takes a little extra time to
- 11:26get through security sometimes, depending on the crowd levels.
- 11:28If it's not that crowded that day, it won't be that bad, but
- 11:32those morning lines can take a long time and I will mention
- 11:35really quick before we hop into like do this first, do the 2nd,
- 11:39that type of thing. Do keep in mind that although we
- 11:41mentioned that Genie Plus is almost identical in system when
- 11:44it comes to cross the parks, there are a more significant
- 11:50amount of rides at Disneyland that are not included in Genie
- 11:54Plus. And I know Kate, you'll probably
- 11:55talk about which one of those don't have a Genie Plus option
- 11:58and those types of things. But do keep in mind that where
- 12:01you see at Disney World, it's like 95 to 98% of your
- 12:05attractions. It's not quite that high at
- 12:06Disneyland. So there are some rides that
- 12:09you're going to really want to pay attention to that you just
- 12:12you don't have the option to do use Genie Plus with.
- 12:15So keep that in mind as we work towards our day.
- 12:19And a lot of that is because Disneyland is an older park.
- 12:23You remember a lot of these rides.
- 12:25If they're not all the way back from 1955, they're at least back
- 12:27from like the Fantasyland rides are back from the 1980s and
- 12:31there just isn't physical room for them to put in.
- 12:34I mean, I'm sure they would put in one if they could, but there
- 12:36just isn't space to put one. So they do have an option for
- 12:40like das returns and stuff. Usually they go in the exit of
- 12:43those those rides that are in Fantasyland, but yeah, that's
- 12:47why a lot of them just don't don't have that option, so.
- 12:51I'm trying to remember this is my fault because I did not look
- 12:55this up. I don't usually buy individual
- 12:57lightning lanes because they're very expensive.
- 13:00It is, isn't it just one individual lightning lane per
- 13:03day? Is that or is it?
- 13:05So at Disney World, you can do 2 per day, but let's see.
- 13:12I'll let you look that up while I chat.
- 13:13I've never tried to buy them there because it's like I'm just
- 13:16not going to spend the money for something I go to often, but so.
- 13:211st I'm going to say arrive at least 40 minutes before park
- 13:24opening time and then after you enter the park.
- 13:27The first. I hate saying this because like
- 13:28you should be taking in the ambience at the park, but after
- 13:32you kind of breathe and say hey I'm here, I'm on Main Street and
- 13:34I'm doing find bench, there's lots of them there.
- 13:37Sit down by your genie Plus and then you can book your first.
- 13:42If you're going to use an individual lighting lane, which
- 13:44is in like a la carte option, I probably would book it for Rise
- 13:49of the Resistance first. And did you find an answer for
- 13:52that? Yes.
- 13:53So it does say guest may purchase and select the next
- 13:56available arrival window for up to two attractions per day with
- 13:59the individual lightning lanes. So.
- 14:02You said, wait a minute, you say we can have up to two up to two
- 14:06per day. Lens said something.
- 14:08It distracted me and I'm like, wait a minute, yes, what I would
- 14:12say so same that we have it at Disney World.
- 14:16You can purchase up to two individual lightning lanes per
- 14:20person per day. So then then that's all of there
- 14:23is, there is then for the sealand so you could you could
- 14:27get both of your individual lightning lanes if you're going
- 14:28to do that. The price for those though is
- 14:31depends on the day and how much crowds there are.
- 14:34And it's 15 to $25 per person per ride, so you get one ride.
- 14:41And you have to pay per person, which is why I don't buy them,
- 14:44because they're very expensive. But if your time is extremely
- 14:47valuable and you want to ride them without any weight, well,
- 14:50with a little bit of a weight that would be the best option
- 14:54for you. And for some people that's not a
- 14:56big deal. And some of us are like, I can't
- 14:58ever do that, so, so. By your individual lightning
- 15:04lane for whatever you would like.
- 15:07And then just know that those will just be worked into your
- 15:09days with whatever return time you get.
- 15:12Plus at that time for your first ride, which is I would recommend
- 15:17either Space Mountain or Indiana Jones first with a leaning more
- 15:21towards space. If you have a lot of littles
- 15:23that are with you that you're like, we're not going to ride
- 15:25Space Mountain, they're not into it or whatever, then you know,
- 15:29or Indiana Jones for that matter, like you might not want
- 15:32to do both so. I have an order for which you
- 15:35should book the attractions for Genie Plus based on how fast
- 15:41their return time goes in the day.
- 15:44This is where Disneyland differentiates significantly
- 15:48from Disney World in that they just don't run out that fast,
- 15:52right? You can probably still get space
- 15:54until early evening most days, unless it's super, super
- 15:57crowded. But because it could run out,
- 16:01those you should These are the this is the order that it runs
- 16:03out the fastest. Usually this is all
- 16:06statistically based, so the order that you should book is
- 16:11Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Millennium
- 16:17Falcons, Smugglers Run, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Roger
- 16:22Rabbits, Cartoon Spin, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear,
- 16:25Astroblasters, Star Tours. It's a small world.
- 16:29And then Octopia and usually those last couple ones you're
- 16:33probably not gonna need because you're probably are gonna get on
- 16:35them. But and again, you can get to
- 16:37all these in a day if you remember to book on time.
- 16:41I usually set an alarm in my phone that will go off when it's
- 16:44time to book another one, because otherwise I forget.
- 16:47Who's paying attention to that? And keep in mind some of these
- 16:50you may or may not need, but those that is your extensive
- 16:54list of what is included correct on your Genie Plus for
- 16:57Disneyland. Yes, Yep, that's all.
- 17:00Those are all the. GD plus attractions and then
- 17:04individual light ones are individual lightning lanes are
- 17:07rising. The Resistance and Mickey and
- 17:09Minnie's Runaway Railway I think depends on what you count as an
- 17:12attraction. There's 29 attractions at
- 17:15Disneyland. It's a lot and so I'm like, so
- 17:18as we go through the rest of this list, I I'm recommending
- 17:21things for morning, afternoon and evening based on.
- 17:28And I'm not including any of these things on this list that
- 17:30are on the Genie Plus one because this is assuming you're
- 17:33going to book Genie Plus as they come and they'll give you a
- 17:36return time and then you'll go to them.
- 17:37So I'm not including them as when to recommend on this list.
- 17:40We'll get to that in our next section.
- 17:43So that being said, I think I'm going to pause here really quick
- 17:49and say. If it's overwhelming to keep all
- 17:53of that organized because it can be I I'm not, this is not a paid
- 17:57promotion at all. But for years I have used
- 18:00touring plans and I think that they are pretty spectacular for
- 18:04keeping track of all of this. If you're not used to it at all,
- 18:07if you're kind of a veteran, like sometimes you just know
- 18:09what to do and you you roll with it.
- 18:11But they I think Touring Plans is great because you can plug in
- 18:16your return times and you can. Create an itinerary you can put
- 18:20in your meal times if you have any reservations or where you
- 18:22want to eat. You can even put in break times
- 18:24and then it will optimize your day based on current wait times,
- 18:28which is pretty fabulous. Yeah, that's awesome to have.
- 18:31It would be nice if the Disney app actually functioned that
- 18:35way. Wouldn't it?
- 18:36It would be, yeah. So Touring Plans is an app, but
- 18:39it's also on a website, and they're the ones that do the
- 18:41unofficial guides to Disney, like the books if you've ever
- 18:44seen them. And I think if you get the book,
- 18:46you actually do get a little discount on their subscription.
- 18:48It's a subscription service, but it's yearly and I think the
- 18:52Disney World one is like 18 and change and the Disneyland one's
- 18:55like 15 and change. It's not that much for an entire
- 18:58year. If you're going to go, it's
- 18:59worth it for your vacation to plan.
- 19:02So I I would recommend touring plans if you're just kind of a
- 19:07newbie and you're trying to figure it out.
- 19:08Because if you're stuck on your computer, on a laptop or
- 19:11whatever, and then you can pull up the it's a DLR lines I think
- 19:15is what it's called in as an app.
- 19:17And and Disney World has its own Disney World is better than the
- 19:20Disneyland One, if I'm honest. They have two different ones
- 19:24there. This is nicer, but they still
- 19:26function the same. And it's really helpful to plan
- 19:29and to put your day together if you want to be super organized
- 19:33and also optimize it so you're waiting in line the least amount
- 19:35of time. So keep that in mind, yeah.
- 19:38And it's always helpful to know, Okay, if you've got these
- 19:42Lightning lane time set or this one set like, OK, what makes
- 19:46sense for me to like fill in the gaps?
- 19:48Basically, yeah. Is the trickiest part of when it
- 19:50comes to these itineraries. You know, you can hope to get
- 19:52these certain times with Genie Plus, but a lot of times you've
- 19:55got to be flexible. You're either going to be
- 19:56flexible. You're going to be on your phone
- 19:58trying to modify while you're walking around the park.
- 20:01So it just really depends on which way you want to try to
- 20:04swing it. But having that list in order
- 20:07and also based on location is super helpful to have.
- 20:10Yeah. And they also have it where you
- 20:11can change if you want to do less walking or less waiting or
- 20:15like a balance of both, which I think is or end the pace that
- 20:18you're going to go. If you want to go really fast
- 20:20and you know your family can move quickly, you can sleep the
- 20:23little slider and put it that way.
- 20:24If you know you're going to need more time, if you just like to
- 20:27go slower or if you have somebody in your party that that
- 20:30is maybe having a harder time walking or whatever, You know,
- 20:33it's nice that there's that you can make those accommodations
- 20:35for your family and it adjusts it accordingly and it will give
- 20:38you all the times that are wait times in between times, ride
- 20:42times. It's very detailed.
- 20:44So all of you Type A personalities for this is what
- 20:48you want to get. So yeah, yeah.
- 20:52So anyway, let's jump into it knowing that you've possibly
- 20:56booked all your individual lightning lanes for the day.
- 20:59If you do not want to book an individual lightning lane for
- 21:05Rise of the Resistance, I would recommend going.
- 21:09Not be final in the day because they do close that queue earlier
- 21:14than the rest of the park in Disneyland.
- 21:16So it's not like most of the rest of the rides where it stays
- 21:19open till closed and you have the last second to jump in line.
- 21:21They don't do that there. So I believe sometimes the line
- 21:25can close as early as 8:00 PM. So you just want to get over
- 21:27there in the evening hours when everybody's starting to
- 21:31congregate for like shows and stuff is a good time to go over
- 21:34to rise because that back end of the park gets a little bit less
- 21:37busy during that time. So that's why I'd recommend, if
- 21:40you don't want to buy an individual individual lighting
- 21:42lane for that and pretty much a similar thing to Mickey and
- 21:46Minnie's Runaway Railway, although they do keep the queue
- 21:48open later for that. All right, so you're you've,
- 21:52you've got in your individual lightning lanes.
- 21:54If you or not you've booked your DD plus ride for the day, I
- 21:59would always, always, always recommend you start in
- 22:02Fantasyland full stop. Don't need to consider anything
- 22:06else, especially if you have kids.
- 22:08If you've got older kids that are like over the dark rides or
- 22:10whatever, which makes me sad. If that's true then then you
- 22:15want to go to the left side of the park and do things like
- 22:20Indiana Jones and stuff like that.
- 22:21Go left instead of right, like left is always right at Disney
- 22:25remember. But I would always recommend you
- 22:27start in Fantasyland because these are all slow loading rides
- 22:32and they will have lines virtually all day in the parks.
- 22:36So the morning is your best time to get on them with some lower
- 22:41wait times essentially. And you can really knock out
- 22:43like a whole bunch of them. They're right next to each
- 22:45other. It doesn't take very much time
- 22:47and they're very short rides as well.
- 22:48So I've done like almost all of them in an hour and a half, I
- 22:53think was it. So it's it's great and there's a
- 22:56ton there. So this is Alice in Wonderland
- 22:59is usually where I head first because that line does get long
- 23:01pretty quickly. Dumbo Snow Whites.
- 23:05Enchanted Wish, King Arthur Carousel.
- 23:08I think you could probably put that one at the end of the list.
- 23:11Mr. Joe's Well ride and then Casey Junior Circus Train and
- 23:14Storybook Land Canal Boats which I'd say if you're short on time
- 23:19maybe pick one between Casey Junior and Storybook Land Canal
- 23:23boats and all you Fantasyland Paris out there.
- 23:25It can be mad at me but they're they're not the same ride but
- 23:29they're similar because they wind around each other.
- 23:32So you're going to see kind of the same thing.
- 23:34So it depends if you want to have a little bit more of an
- 23:36exciting little train ride or you want to have a slow moving
- 23:39boat ride with storytelling that's your your that's that's
- 23:43your choice. But I would say if you were
- 23:45short on time, baby, pick one or the other and then come back to
- 23:49the other one if you have time later in the evening but.
- 23:52That makes sense, yeah. So when I I don't usually
- 23:56recommend starting at the Fantasyland is everybody goes to
- 23:59Peter Pan first thing and you can you can do that.
- 24:04I've done that. But usually even first thing
- 24:06because so many people rope drop it.
- 24:08It ends up being like an instant like 3045 minute wait and you're
- 24:12just and you lose all that time to do all those other rides
- 24:15without a wait. So if you do Peter Pan maybe do
- 24:18it at the end of that list of those but it's still probably
- 24:20going to be pretty high up there.
- 24:22Usually touring plans recommends me do it like more towards like
- 24:27the dinner hour into the like but before they close it for you
- 24:31know fireworks or after. When they reopen it after
- 24:35fireworks is usually when I'm recommended to do that.
- 24:38So yeah, so Morning and Fantasyland do all those slow
- 24:43moving low capacity rides is what we call them because they
- 24:47don't have any sort of Omni mover system.
- 24:49It's like they stop and they load like 2 people and then they
- 24:52go and it's not. It just takes forever.
- 24:54So a lot of people that asked me what are the recommendations for
- 24:57lunch so I thought I'd just throw in.
- 24:59This is not a food episode, but I'll just throw in good places
- 25:03for families to have lunch. Jolly Holiday Bakery is always
- 25:08my favorite and it's so easily accessed because it's in the
- 25:13Hub, so it doesn't matter where it land you're in, it's pretty
- 25:15easy to get to. Otherwise I'd also recommend for
- 25:18kids. I don't love the food at the
- 25:20Hungry Bear 100%. Like I I will say I have loved
- 25:25it in the past. Last time I had it something
- 25:27there I was I did not like it. But they have some things that
- 25:31are okay and they have some good food for kids.
- 25:34So. But the seating is exceptional
- 25:37because you can there's a lot of it, there's a lot of it in the
- 25:40shade and one side the Disneyland Railroad goes by and
- 25:45the other side the Columbia Sailing Ship and the Mark Twain
- 25:47go by. So no matter where you're
- 25:49seated, you know your kids get to watch these boats go by,
- 25:52which is really fun. So I recommend it for kids for
- 25:56that reason. Just be aware if you have
- 25:59somebody with some sensory needs that if the Columbia sailing
- 26:03ship is running, sometimes they will shoot the cannon over in
- 26:07that area and it can be a little bit startling.
- 26:11So just just to keep that in mind, So those are my
- 26:14recommendations for lunch in Disneyland proper.
- 26:16There's lots of other great places to eat in Disneyland and
- 26:18Tiana's will be open soon. Hopefully they'll have some
- 26:20really great food for that as well, but for now that's what I
- 26:25would recommend. And if you're looking for
- 26:27snacks, we've done several episodes that included food and
- 26:30snacks in all of the parks. So just scroll back in our
- 26:33episode list and find all of our snack suggestions.
- 26:36If you're looking for just to kind of snack along the way.
- 26:39If you're on the run off to the next ride.
- 26:43Yeah, we have some really great snacks in Disneyland too.
- 26:46And I did mention if you just want to grab a quick bite but
- 26:50you don't want to do a sit down, I would say Tropical Hideaway or
- 26:53Bangle BBQ are your best bets for that.
- 26:55And they're both in Adventureland I.
- 26:57My kind of favorite hack is to get my food at Bangle Barbecue
- 27:00and then carry it over to Tropical Hideaways.
- 27:04They basically stuff a like place to eat inside an old store
- 27:08in the like Bazaar area in in adventure land.
- 27:12So it's just like not, it's not. It's insideish, but it's not
- 27:17like the best one. So what you're saying is it's
- 27:20fine, but fine. But if I wanted like a really
- 27:24nice experience of where to eat, I would go and take it over to
- 27:27Tropical Hideaway because you have Rosita there, the bird that
- 27:30talks to you and tells jokes and the the music is top notch and
- 27:34they've got tiki torches and it's just really lovely.
- 27:36So but we'll see once Tiana opens that might be another
- 27:41place to recommend. I did like the food they used to
- 27:43have there at the French market. So I'm hopeful, hopeful we'll
- 27:46have some good food there. OK, so morning we're in
- 27:50Fantasyland and we have some lunch in the afternoon you're
- 27:55going to do non genie plus rides that don't have super long
- 27:58waits. And this is hard to predict
- 28:01because it depends on the crowd level in the park.
- 28:04Sometimes if the crowds are low, Jungle Cruise doesn't
- 28:08necessarily have a super line long line all day.
- 28:11If it does have a long line, sometimes if you wait a little
- 28:13while and come back, it'll be short.
- 28:15It's just kind of this weird thing where it kind of
- 28:17fluctuates during the day. Winnie the Pooh also usually
- 28:20doesn't have tremendously long lines unless it's a really busy
- 28:24day. Toon Town, with a caveat that
- 28:28not going on any of the rides, is a good place to bum around.
- 28:31Especially with Littles, it's a good place to explore their new
- 28:35play area that they have there, which is fantastic.
- 28:37They've got really great, really big slide.
- 28:40They've got this little bridge that makes sounds when you run
- 28:42over it. They have a bunch of little
- 28:43things on the ground for them to like follow.
- 28:46And then they have inside Goofy's house, there's like this
- 28:49whole, like, I want to say, this bubble gum machine, it's like
- 28:52has a little balls that go all over the place.
- 28:54It's fun. So yeah, so I would say headed
- 29:00to in town to just, you know, get some energy out is a good
- 29:04good, but in town notoriously doesn't have very much shade.
- 29:09So keep that in mind. There's also Mickey and Minnie's
- 29:11house. You can walk through Mickey's
- 29:12house without meeting Mickey. If it's a huge weight, you don't
- 29:15have to meet Mickey, You can just walk through the house and
- 29:17see all of this stuff. Or you can go and meet the
- 29:19characters as well, if that's something your kids really want
- 29:21to do. So Tune Town's a good place to
- 29:24go. Also, I would say Tom Sawyer
- 29:25Island is a wonderful place to escape to in the afternoons when
- 29:29the crowds get a little overwhelming because the kids
- 29:32can really run around and play a whole lot there.
- 29:34There's caves to explore, there's pirate ship theme, it's
- 29:38pirate Slayer themed and so and it's it's just kind of a nice
- 29:42getaway from the the hustle bustle of the parks.
- 29:44So I definitely recommend that. So that's kind of like afternoon
- 29:50time. And remember, your other return
- 29:52times for Genie Plus will be sprinkled in amongst these
- 29:55things. So that wouldn't be all you'd do
- 29:57in the afternoon. I'd also put in there.
- 29:59I forgot to add that Enchanted Tiki room would be perfect for
- 30:03the afternoon. So that never has a wait.
- 30:06I mean, you have to wait till the next show and that's pretty
- 30:08much it. So that's an adventure land and
- 30:10that's a great place to go and cool off to if it's hot outside.
- 30:15Or Lincoln. Yes.
- 30:16Thank you, Conductor Jackson. Appreciate that.
- 30:19Yeah, Lincoln, great moments with Mr. Lincoln.
- 30:21That's on Main Street. And I'd also say Main Street
- 30:24vehicles are a great one. They run most of the day in
- 30:26Disneyland, unlike Disney World, they kind of shut those down for
- 30:29the afternoon. But yeah, anything that's on
- 30:34Main Street, there's a little theater there as well where you
- 30:37can go in and see classic Nikki cartoons.
- 30:39So that's a great place to go and not have a wait or ride.
- 30:43The Disneyland Railroad just also usually has a little bit of
- 30:48a weight by the afternoon because everybody's tired.
- 30:50But it's a great one with kids to get off your feet.
- 30:54And my kids have often taken naps on there.
- 30:56We'll just, you know, all those, hold them and we'll ride around.
- 30:59And it's, you know, we stop every so often, but the swaying
- 31:02helps put them to sleep. So, and I will say something
- 31:04like the train is also helpful if you're trying to manipulate
- 31:08sometimes and and move some stuff around doing something
- 31:11like the train in the meantime. Can be helpful if so.
- 31:15That way you're not just like standing around waiting, so hop
- 31:18on the train. You can do whatever you need
- 31:20while your kiddos are enjoying the ride and looking around.
- 31:24So something like that. I would not suggest doing that
- 31:26in a show, just cuz you know screen in the dark room.
- 31:28But something like the train would be perfect for that.
- 31:31Yeah absolutely. So then into the evening I would
- 31:36recommend for the rides that we have left.
- 31:39This is when you would do Pirates of the Caribbean is not
- 31:42a Genie Plus attraction. So I would I'd never recommend
- 31:45this in the middle of the day because that line can get so
- 31:48long it in Disneyland it goes out out of the queue and then up
- 31:53the ramp and like over it. So if the line goes up on the
- 31:55ramp over it just wait. It will get shorter eventually
- 32:00unless the crowds are really, really bad that just don't don't
- 32:04do that because in the evening it will, it will go down and
- 32:07this is all. Also, I should mention this is
- 32:10implying in this itinerary that you're not going to go see
- 32:13fireworks. So taking advantage of those
- 32:15Evening Times when people are going to go see the night shows,
- 32:18both the Fireworks show and World of color, some people will
- 32:22hop and go see World of Color into DCA.
- 32:26So this plan does not. Neither of these plans includes
- 32:28that. So just FYI, so you might have
- 32:33to pick and choose is all I'm saying.
- 32:34So in the evening I'd recommend pirates.
- 32:37This is when you can come back and do Peter Pan's flight, but
- 32:40only after they've reopened it after fireworks or before they
- 32:43close it. And also ending your day with
- 32:46Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway if you did not get an
- 32:48individual lightning lane. So I'm going to breathe for a
- 32:52second. A lot of information.
- 32:54Yeah, because. I had a couple of questions that
- 32:56I was hanging on to that people were asking about.
- 32:59The first question we had over here was wondering about if the
- 33:03Disney World and Disneyland app are the same.
- 33:07Are two separate function the same way?
- 33:11There's little tiny differences between the two and like where
- 33:14you might find something between the two, but both are going to
- 33:17give you wait times. Both are going to be how you do
- 33:19all of your Genie, plus you'll be able to mobile order.
- 33:23All of that is available on both, so if you're familiar with
- 33:28the Disney World app, the Disneyland app is super easy to
- 33:30use as far as that's concerned. Hopes asking which two apps So
- 33:35we have. Walt Disney World Resort has an
- 33:37app, and then Disneyland Resort has its its own app.
- 33:41So they're two different apps. They look similar, though when
- 33:44you open them up they have similar features to them, so if
- 33:47you're familiar with one, you'll probably understand the other
- 33:51one fairly easily. Yeah, and keep in mind, the
- 33:53Disney World app is going to show up as My Disney Experience,
- 33:58which is unfortunate because the word world doesn't exist in that
- 34:02title, which is why a lot of people get confused because they
- 34:06just assume it's all Disney. Yeah, it's not.
- 34:09So My Disney Experience is your Disney World app for everything
- 34:13you need to Disney World. And then the Disneyland app is
- 34:15just called the Disneyland app, which is very helpful, yeah.
- 34:20That's true. Those are going to be the ones
- 34:21that we're talking about now. Kate also did mention earlier
- 34:24the Touring Plants app, which is a separate third party.
- 34:27More apps. All the apps.
- 34:30And that one is the one that Kate was talking about that you
- 34:34can utilize the computer and the app to kind of help with your
- 34:37itinerary. So those are the apps that we've
- 34:39been mentioning. And the other question that I
- 34:42had and Kate, I'm not 100% sure, but someone was asking if the
- 34:45Peter Pan ride is identical in Disneyland and Disney World.
- 34:50That's a great question. It is not identical.
- 34:52It's a little bit longer in Disney World and has a longer
- 34:55Neverland scene that you actually fly over Neverland in
- 34:59like more close up. I would say Disneyland flies
- 35:01over Neverland from like, you're up in the sky and there's all
- 35:05these stars around, which makes it actually really magical.
- 35:08They did import the same scene with the boat the Jolly Roger,
- 35:13the boat the pirate ship Jolly Roger.
- 35:16At the end they put that scene originally was in Disney World
- 35:21and then they when they did the 1983 remodel, they added it to
- 35:24Disneyland. So it'll look really similar.
- 35:26But Disneyland's had some additional updates where there's
- 35:28extra Pixie dust through things, so they're not identical.
- 35:32Disney World's a little bit longer.
- 35:34If you haven't been on the Disneyland version, I'd
- 35:36recommend you do it because it's different, mainly for that
- 35:41flying over flying over the Neverland scene with all the
- 35:47stars is actually pretty magical, so.
- 35:49And it will say, I know if you're not that anyone asked
- 35:52about the queue, but the queues are also vastly different.
- 35:55So if that's something that, like if you're someone who loves
- 35:58the Disney World queue with all the little like lights and
- 36:01Tinkerbell flying around and all that, that is not what they have
- 36:03at Disneyland. It's very different.
- 36:05They do have a little scavenger hunt.
- 36:07So if you use the Disney Play app with your kids, they have
- 36:10these little things that are in the wood everywhere.
- 36:12Yeah, Another app, they have all these different little things
- 36:17that are hidden throughout the queues that the kids can look
- 36:19for in the app. So and you can even do it
- 36:22without the app just seeing how many items you can find cuz they
- 36:25had to do something for kids in that line cuz it's just really
- 36:27boring. But there's if you use your
- 36:29Disney play app that's also how you can get the Lantern with
- 36:32Tinker Bell to light up that's in the queue.
- 36:34A lot of people don't realize what that is and I see people
- 36:36trying to like push buttons and stuff on it.
- 36:38I was like you have to use your Disney play app to make it.
- 36:41So I have a couple of questions over here is rise identical in
- 36:48both and the answer is pretty much yes.
- 36:51Like the the ride experience is identical.
- 36:54It will. You'll sometimes when I go to
- 36:56get Guardians of the Galaxy, so that's when I go to Galaxy's
- 37:01Edge in Disneyland. I literally think I'm in Florida
- 37:03because it's so similar. So our Magic Bands needed in
- 37:07land, they're not needed. A lot of people do not use them.
- 37:11They have special readers on their Magic Band.
- 37:14They're they're where you scan your Magic Band.
- 37:17They have a little slot in it that you can actually stick your
- 37:20phone in and it will scan your park ticket in your app to get
- 37:24you and use you, not get you. Wow, I can't talk.
- 37:27I've been talking a lot. It will allow you access to that
- 37:31area as if you had a Magic band. However, you can use Magic Band
- 37:37Plus the ones that light up. You can use those at Disneyland
- 37:40and you can use the same one at Disney World.
- 37:43You just have to make sure they're registered in your app.
- 37:45So you can't use the older versions that don't light up.
- 37:48They don't work at Disneyland, that if you register the ones
- 37:51that light up, you can actually use those ones at Disneyland.
- 37:53And I I have enjoyed using mine there when I use Genie Plus
- 37:57because it's convenient so you don't have to, yeah.
- 37:59I would say if you're using Genie Plus, you definitely want
- 38:02to either have a Magic Band Plus or have your phone set up to be
- 38:07ready to go. Don't try to mess with the card
- 38:09or anything like that because it's just too much in and out.
- 38:12Especially if you're doing just one day and you're hustling
- 38:15between these rides, you want to make sure that whatever you have
- 38:19is easily accessible. I will also mention that I know
- 38:22several of us have used like Apple Watches for Magic bands
- 38:26before. That is not an option at
- 38:28Disneyland currently. Hopefully it will be at some
- 38:32point but so for those of you that maybe have used your Apple
- 38:36Watch or Smart Watch as your park ticket at World, that's not
- 38:40something you can do at Land. And I do have a question from
- 38:44Tracy saying the third what is the best hotel?
- 38:47We did a whole series on the best hotels in the Disney Parks
- 38:51and we included Disneyland in that.
- 38:54But I would, I always recommend if you're staying on property, I
- 38:59recommend California. Grand Californian is my favorite
- 39:02to stay on property and off property.
- 39:05I recommend almost anything on Harbor.
- 39:07Blvd. is usually pretty good, which is the road that runs like
- 39:11parallel to Disneyland Resort. Most of them have been renovated
- 39:16motels, so they're not like super fancy necessarily, but
- 39:20they're they're quality clean stays, which is what you need.
- 39:23And the Howard Johnson's always a really popular one with kids
- 39:25too, because they have a little water park that's attached to
- 39:28it, so. Yeah.
- 39:29And if you're looking for more about that, we did several
- 39:31episodes based on budget. So we did kind of like value
- 39:35prices, moderate prices and deluxe prices.
- 39:38So those are episodes 6/7. Wait, no, 689 and 10:00.
- 39:43I was like, wait, that wasn't right.
- 39:45So 689 and 10 are the ones that you're looking for if you want
- 39:48more information about hotels based on your budget.
- 39:52And like Kate said, it's Disney World and land in the same
- 39:55episode, so you can Fast forward and rewind as needed.
- 39:58Yeah. Well, I think my biggest advice
- 40:00with that is if you're staying with kids, try to stay closer to
- 40:04the Harbor Blvd. Entrance to the park because
- 40:07you'll walk less. At the end of the day, walking
- 40:10less is great for everybody. So just saying, so are we, do
- 40:15you have any more questions or should we move?
- 40:17On think I'm good on my end. Okay, so let's do a Disneyland
- 40:23day if you're not going to buy Genie Plus.
- 40:26I will say that if you're not going to buy Genie Plus, you're
- 40:29going to get less done in your day.
- 40:30Just full stop. Unless the parks are virtually
- 40:33empty, which just like never is anymore.
- 40:35So right again, I'm going to recommend you get there.
- 40:39First thing in the morning, arrive at least 40 minutes
- 40:41before park opening so that you can rope drop, which if you're
- 40:45not familiar with that term, means they kind of have a rope.
- 40:47You know they have a section where you're standing behind
- 40:50waiting for them to open that section.
- 40:52That's why we call it rope drop. I would recommend you head for
- 40:55Rise of Resistance first, If that's something that you're is
- 40:59a huge priority for you, but only if it's a huge priority for
- 41:03you, don't do it. If you're like I could take or
- 41:06leave it, I don't. I'm not into Star Wars or
- 41:08whatever. Just don't, because.
- 41:09It will take a significant amount of your time and it's
- 41:12going to look like the line is ridiculously long when you get
- 41:17there. Like I think we had to go in
- 41:18like the third entrance is where the line stretched to.
- 41:21So it was basically the length of of the galaxy's edge.
- 41:26And you know, it's going to seem like this is crazy.
- 41:30It's going to take forever, but in the morning it actually moves
- 41:32as long as it's running. It will move pretty quickly.
- 41:36I know it takes a while to warm up and sometimes it doesn't
- 41:38always work right. It's just complicated, right?
- 41:40But and that's the same on both coasts.
- 41:45But if it is, if it is up and running and working and getting
- 41:48that line, it will probably be, depending on the day, fiftyish
- 41:52minutes, maybe less than an hour, and then you're going to
- 41:57do. After that you can then go do
- 41:59those Fantasyland slow loading rides, because even if it takes
- 42:03you an hour. But you got there right when the
- 42:05park opened. You can still hit a lot of those
- 42:08fantasy land rides while the wait times are low.
- 42:11So I would again do the same same thing.
- 42:14Alice and the Elephant Ride and Snow White's Enchanted Wish and
- 42:19Matterhorn. I'm going to throw that in
- 42:21because that was one that was a Genie Plus attraction.
- 42:24You can ride the Matterhorn with Rider Switch if you have Littles
- 42:29that don't measure up or not. Or too Scared to ride because
- 42:32it's it's a roller coaster. Rider switch we've talked about
- 42:36before but essentially you can have, you can go approach the
- 42:40cast member who's at the front and they and say we want to do
- 42:44rider Switch and usually they'll in a coat.
- 42:45They each ride I feel like has a different way of doing it but
- 42:48sometimes they'll give you like a physical pass and then when
- 42:51that person is through then you can switch your child.
- 42:55The other person stays with the child and this person usually
- 42:57can have at least one other person come with them.
- 43:00Sometimes it's been up to three in the past it.
- 43:03Sometimes it changes it. Sometimes it says on your past
- 43:05how many people it will admit. So, you know, I hate to be so
- 43:09vague about it, but it, it just really depends on the the
- 43:11attraction, the park. Yeah.
- 43:13So just ask the cast member if you don't know how to do it or
- 43:17don't don't know, just go to the front of the attraction and say
- 43:20we would like to do rider switch.
- 43:22Is that possible? And then they'll help walk you
- 43:24through it. So yeah, yeah, easy peasy.
- 43:28And just a quick note about rider Switch.
- 43:30I know we're talking non Genie Plus, but if you are using rider
- 43:32switch with Genie Plus, I would suggest talking to the cast
- 43:37Member about. Especially on a day where you
- 43:39only have one day in the park, about making sure that everybody
- 43:43taps in before you get your rider swap.
- 43:46Which sounds a little crazy, but everyone on your party is going
- 43:49to have to tap in or, you know, use your phone or however you're
- 43:52doing it to the ride before you're going to be eligible to
- 43:54book your next one. So make sure that you talk to
- 43:57the Cast Member if you're using Genie Plus and Rider Switch,
- 44:00because you want to make sure that you're not stuck waiting on
- 44:032 cycles of that cue before you can book your next ride.
- 44:08So let's keep that in mind, they.
- 44:11Didn't even think about that because I haven't had this rider
- 44:13switch in a long time so and I haven't either.
- 44:16But it someone asked me that question and like Bart, our
- 44:20friend tour guide Barbie and I were like discussing it the
- 44:22other day about, but it's because I was wondering whether
- 44:25or not Rider Switch had anything to do with it.
- 44:26But they're completely separate systems.
- 44:28So you want to make sure that even if you're you, even if
- 44:31you're using Genie Plus, I would still do the Rider Switch
- 44:33because it's going to let you book your next lightning lane
- 44:36faster. Yeah, I hope that makes great.
- 44:40Made sense to me. I know it's a lot.
- 44:43And you know, I'm thinking back in our Genie Plus episode, there
- 44:46were too many other things to talk to, talk about when it
- 44:49comes to Genie Plus. So just keep that in mind.
- 44:53Yeah, OK, so you're doing your Fantasyland rides.
- 44:57We got to the Matterhorn, and I'll put in this caveat that,
- 45:01like, if nobody wants to do these big rides, just don't just
- 45:04skip them, You know, go to the next thing.
- 45:07If you're not interested in any of these rides, you're probably
- 45:09going to have to pick and choose which one of these you want to
- 45:11do anyway, because you will not get to everything in the park.
- 45:14So. As always, we recommend
- 45:16everybody says what is it you want to do the most and make
- 45:19your list of like your priorities and then take those
- 45:21out of each of these sections of the day.
- 45:23Be like we're going to try to get to these ones and then
- 45:25anything else is just bonus beyond that.
- 45:27So all right, the Carousel, Mr. Toad, Casey Juniors or Storybook
- 45:33Land Canal Boats. Again pick one because of pretty
- 45:35much very similar attractions because of what you see.
- 45:40And then Small World is another one I'm going to recommend for
- 45:43the morning. Before those lines do tend to
- 45:46get long in the afternoon, they do go down again in the evening,
- 45:51but there's a whole bunch of other rides I recommend for the
- 45:53evening. So I'm kind of putting it in the
- 45:54morning side for that reason. This was, of course, that we
- 45:59started in Fantasyland. This was after Rise.
- 46:02I kind of put Indiana Jones here, but I'm going to tell you,
- 46:05if you don't do Indiana Jones like first thing in the day or
- 46:09kind of last thing at night, it's just going to have a long
- 46:11wait. It just will so.
- 46:14Just accept it. If use the touring plans up to
- 46:17see when they recommend you should ride because some days it
- 46:19makes sense to do it at different times.
- 46:21So I will just say that because even doing in the afternoon,
- 46:25it's going to have a really long wait.
- 46:26I just was like, I don't even know where to put this because
- 46:28if you're going to Fantasyland in the morning, I tried to do
- 46:31it. That was more family friendly.
- 46:32And not all kids want to go in Indiana Jones.
- 46:35My kids are still a little bit terrified of it.
- 46:37So that's why I put in the afternoon in case you wanted to
- 46:40do that. And same with jungle crews like
- 46:42we talked about before it can kind of its weights can kind of
- 46:45go up and down and depending on the day, so it I put it in the
- 46:47afternoon, but that one might also be when you need to come
- 46:49back to later. I'd also put Big Thunder
- 46:52Mountain Railroad in the afternoon and Smugglers Run as
- 46:56well. These you're just going to have
- 46:59to probably pick pick your favorite out of some of these
- 47:01because the weights will be a little bit longer then the same
- 47:04ones I recommended before Winnie the Pooh.
- 47:07Soon town. This is where I would do Mad Tea
- 47:09Party because it doesn't have a long wait most of the day.
- 47:13Sometimes it can get a little longer in the afternoons, but I
- 47:15think you can still probably do it.
- 47:16Then Pinocchio, Tom Sawyer Island Enchanted Tiki Room, The
- 47:23Mark Twain and Columbia Sailing Columbia Sailing Ship.
- 47:26So those are great afternoon activities that don't have
- 47:29weights except for waiting for the boat to come around.
- 47:32Great moments with Mr. Lincoln Main Street vehicles and also if
- 47:36they're running the Davy Crockett Explorer canoes, which
- 47:39is a little controversial because some people refuse to go
- 47:41in them. But they're so unique because
- 47:44you get right down on the water and you see it's some the Rivers
- 47:48of America from a really different point of view and it
- 47:50doesn't run on a track. It's a little terrifying, the
- 47:55thought of being in a canoe and being kind of at the mercy of
- 47:59the other people in the canoe with you.
- 48:02Even if nobody goes in the canoe and those two cast members they
- 48:05have there are so strong they'll literally pull you through the
- 48:08water if nobody else paddles and everybody does because they feel
- 48:11bad. So yeah, what's wrong with the
- 48:15canoes is a lot of people just refuse to go on them because you
- 48:17have to work. It actually is a canoe.
- 48:19It's free floating. It's a self powered ride so you
- 48:23have to canoe and paddle your way.
- 48:25Through the Rivers of America, it's actually quite fun to do.
- 48:28And they tell hilarious jokes. It's like the Jungle Cruise but
- 48:31with canoes. So it's very funny.
- 48:35But if you get somebody in front of you, especially like
- 48:37sometimes a little kid, you'll get a little bit wet cuz they'll
- 48:40splash you with the water from the Rivers of America.
- 48:42So it's not everybody's favorite ride for that reason.
- 48:44But I like the canoes. I will stand it every time, so
- 48:48all the stand on the shore and enjoy everyone else enjoying the
- 48:53canoes. It is fun to watch them struggle
- 48:56though, as they come around, because everybody's tired at
- 48:59like halfway through and nobody wants to go any further, right?
- 49:02Especially like in the middle of the afternoon or towards the
- 49:04evening, which is where you have them right before dinner.
- 49:06On our plan here I'm I'm not canoeing it right before dinner.
- 49:11I am. I am ready for a break.
- 49:14Well, I have it like when the sun is starting to wane, so
- 49:17you're not in the bright sun, you don't want to do it like
- 49:20high noon. So I didn't put it like right
- 49:22after lunch, cuz nobody wants to do it right after lunch.
- 49:24So you do it when you Yeah, it's a workout.
- 49:28I have several people on my side of the chat that are like, Nope,
- 49:30no thanks. But it was in, it was there from
- 49:361955 I believe. Have to go back and double
- 49:39check, but it's been there for a long time.
- 49:41It was originally had a different name before it became
- 49:43Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes, and it used to have like a whole
- 49:45section that had Rapids in it that you would go through, which
- 49:48was kind of cool. And I know like fake Rapids,
- 49:51like not real ones. They don't have it anymore.
- 49:56It's fine. My gosh.
- 49:58Anyway that it is time for dinner, I can't recommend the
- 50:02same places I do. Also, there's.
- 50:04A couple places with reservations.
- 50:05I also recommend if you can get a reservation, sometimes you can
- 50:08do a day of walk up. I like Cafe Orleans, it's a
- 50:11great one. Even my kids found stuff that
- 50:13they like to eat there. And then gosh, there's a couple
- 50:17other places. I'd say Carnation Cafe over on
- 50:21Main Street is a classic. That was one that Walt really
- 50:23enjoyed. So they have some of his
- 50:25favorite dishes there. That's a great place to eat.
- 50:27And Plaza In is always kind of a winner too.
- 50:29They've got really great fried chicken and stuff.
- 50:31So but. And I always go back to, you
- 50:35know, kind of the same old places because that's when I'm
- 50:37used to, I don't recommend the Red Rose Tavern.
- 50:41I wanted to say Pinocchio Village House.
- 50:42That's what it used to be. Red Rose Tavern I it is family
- 50:46friendly. So if you like flatbread and
- 50:48things like that, it's like Pinocchio Village House.
- 50:50It's got a similar menu, except it has the Gray stuff and stuff
- 50:53like that. But it's probably not one of my
- 50:56favorite places to eat as an adult.
- 50:57I've eaten there several times and I'm always kind of sad when
- 51:00I eat there, so. But it's air conditioned and
- 51:02indoors, so you know. But I feel like you've got so
- 51:05many better options. Like, don't settle for it, No.
- 51:09Not a Disneyland? Don't settle friends.
- 51:12And then it's also blue by you. If you really want to splurge
- 51:15and you can get into it. Usually if you haven't don't
- 51:18have a reservation, go to Blue by you first thing in the
- 51:20morning and try to see if you can get a walk up.
- 51:23For that day, that's your best bet for trying to get a
- 51:26reservation at Blue Bayou, and that is the restaurant that is
- 51:29inside Pirates of the Caribbean. So you're floating by in a boat
- 51:33and you're seeing all the people eating next to you.
- 51:35It's like perpetual twilight and it's actually quite wonderful
- 51:39place to eat. The food is not as good as it
- 51:41used to be, but the atmosphere is tough notch, So finishing up
- 51:47things to do in the evening I will say.
- 51:51I don't know. I put Indiana Jones here too,
- 51:53because I was like, I don't know where to stick Indiana Jones, so
- 51:56but definitely once everybody starts going over for fireworks,
- 52:01usually drop pretty practically during that time.
- 52:03So that is the time they're not that far from each other.
- 52:06You can knock out both of those. It's also a good time in the
- 52:09evening to do Utopia, if your kids really want to do that or
- 52:13you really want to do that because there's a lot less
- 52:16waiting and a lot less standing in the sun because that a lot of
- 52:18that, it's just hot to stand in line for that.
- 52:22Another good time to do Star Tours.
- 52:25Space Mountain is still pretty long at this time of day, but
- 52:28sometimes it gets a little lower when everybody goes to the shows
- 52:32and there's Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters that has a pretty
- 52:36long line in the afternoon. But once everybody starts
- 52:38heading into firework land, those wait times can drop really
- 52:42low. So, and this is also when you
- 52:45can do Peter Pan's flight again. Be mindful that it closes for
- 52:49fireworks and same with Roger Rabbit's cartoon spin, because
- 52:54it's in Toontown and then Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.
- 52:57I kind of like close out the day with that, if that, if I was
- 53:00doing it. It's a great ride to close out
- 53:03the day with, you know, to be so I know he's the last little
- 53:07character you see as you exit my little buddy.
- 53:10I know that was a lot of information for Disneyland, so
- 53:13if my best advice for a Disneyland strategy.
- 53:16Is do the do Fantasyland first, do rides that don't have much of
- 53:22A wait in the afternoon, do everything else kind of at the
- 53:25end of the day. That's kind of like Fantasyland,
- 53:29no waits. Everything else at the end of it
- 53:31and that that that's it and it's a long day.
- 53:34So again, choose what you like to do for that.
- 53:39And yeah, there are some single rider attractions at Disneyland.
- 53:46I feel like the space one went away, someone saying single
- 53:48rider for space. I don't remember the Space
- 53:51Mountain one being open because I feel like that one
- 53:52disappeared. But if you are, we used to have
- 53:55one for splash as well. Just always remember if you go
- 53:59in the single rider line, they're going to split up your
- 54:01party. Yes, because I also Matterhorn
- 54:04is a great one for single rider like I do that Smugglers Run.
- 54:08Matterhorn and Space Mountain are the three for Disneyland
- 54:11that have single rider options. Thank you, Jackie.
- 54:14So yeah, I would say last time I was on Matterhorn, like the
- 54:19people that were in the Single Rider Line, they're just like,
- 54:21but we want to stay together. He's my son and they're just
- 54:24like the cast members. Like you could tell it was like
- 54:26barely contained rage. And I'm like, he's like, I'm
- 54:30sorry, it's the single rider, single rider line.
- 54:33It's. Like an hour and a half wait if
- 54:35you want to ride together, and like, you're welcome.
- 54:38You can wait in line with them, but when you get to the front
- 54:42you may get lucky one in 25 chances that you end up in the
- 54:46same car but. Yeah, it's not.
- 54:49Not usually. The chances are not not that
- 54:52great. So if you need to ride with your
- 54:54kiddo, don't go in the single rider line.
- 54:56That's all get off my yeah. And also keep in mind that they
- 54:59have age restrictions for some of that stuff too.
- 55:03So single riders, I think it's like 12 or 13, but I could be
- 55:08wrong. I would have to.
- 55:10Yeah, I don't know offhand because I've never tried it.
- 55:13And so yeah, that's my that's my main strategy for Disneyland and
- 55:19Disneyland again, you're just pick and choose what it is you
- 55:22want to do the most and don't try to do it all because
- 55:25especially with kids, it's just it's too much.
- 55:28I don't even, I try to do as many rides as I could in a day
- 55:31just to get footage the other day and I was worn out and I
- 55:34still didn't get to everything. I got to most of it, but not all
- 55:37of it. This is a lot.
- 55:39The Internet is saying guests under the age of seven may not
- 55:42ride alone and should be accompanied by a person age 14
- 55:46or older. Oh, that's not for sure, but I
- 55:49would say 14 and up then for like single rider if you're
- 55:52worried about. Yeah, I think.
- 55:55I think they do like I think. 18 like 8 year olds can ride by
- 56:00themselves from what I know. I always thought it was really
- 56:03low, so 14 sounds great to me. But yeah, while you look that
- 56:11up, I'm going to hop on over to DCA.
- 56:14That is Disney California Adventure, no S and we're going
- 56:19to have a few general park notes for DCAOK Wait.
- 56:23Conductor Jackson says if the child is at least seven years
- 56:25old, they can write on their own.
- 56:27That's what I thought. So they have to be like if
- 56:29they're under seven, they can't write on their own.
- 56:32That's what I'm thinking too. So yeah, so I guess if they're 8
- 56:37and older, they would be able to.
- 56:40I know. For as a mom, I'm like, I don't
- 56:43think so. I guess it depends on your
- 56:45child. There's some really mature 8
- 56:46year olds out there. Yeah, well and not only that,
- 56:49but like those rides that have single rider are not tame rides.
- 56:55Smugglers run the Matterhorn and Space Mountain.
- 56:58So like if your 8 year old can handle being on that attraction,
- 57:03let alone being alone without a family member on that
- 57:06attraction, that's a big if I. Know for me it's like a.
- 57:13For me personally, as a mom, I just don't feel comfortable
- 57:16having my child around like riding with potential strangers
- 57:20next to them. On some of these attractions
- 57:22especially like Space Mountain, you're next physically next to
- 57:25somebody and I just you just don't know who that person is.
- 57:29And they're especially they're in, they're in the dark, they're
- 57:31like they're I'm like, I just can't.
- 57:33I would not know, not for me, but some.
- 57:36Every parent is different and no judgment.
- 57:39But that being said, no, no your kiddo.
- 57:42Yeah, I know judgment. Every kid is different.
- 57:44Every family is different. Every parenting situation is
- 57:46different. So yeah, definitely.
- 57:48Yeah, it does. It does depend like Kathy saying
- 57:51you know her as an 8 year old. Yes, her daughter's 8 year old.
- 57:54No, times are different. Yeah, yeah, I would agree to
- 57:56that too. And Ali Beth said over here,
- 57:59better safe than sorry. And that's exactly it.
- 58:00Like as a parent taking your kid, you know, you you really
- 58:04have to decide you're in a very busy public place.
- 58:08Is it something that you're okay with or not?
- 58:11Well, and then I also think about my 8 year old getting off
- 58:13the ride potentially. Like I would probably have to go
- 58:16first and then they would have to go behind me because I'd want
- 58:18to be there to kind of like catch them afterwards.
- 58:20Otherwise they're waiting for me alone in the park, right.
- 58:24But like, oh that I don't feel comfortable with that.
- 58:26I mean when it comes to like my 1213 year old, like that's a
- 58:29different story. Eight I think is still pretty
- 58:32young. So anyway, real mom talk there
- 58:37for a minute. Sorry.
- 58:39You can what you can do. It's all your personal that
- 58:42those are the official park rules you do, you and your
- 58:44family and what works for you. So we'll say that Disney
- 58:48California Adventure, let's head over there.
- 58:49This park is so much easier to do in a day and it used to be
- 58:53like 1/2 day park, but they've added so many things to it that
- 58:56now it really is a full day adventure.
- 58:58If you want to get to most of the things that are in it again
- 59:02the same. Rules applies.
- 59:04Disneyland get there early because it gets progressively
- 59:06busy as the day, busier as the day goes on.
- 59:09And I'd say sometimes this park is even a little bit more busy
- 59:13because a lot of the locals go there to eating and atmosphere
- 59:16and things like that in the evenings for dinner.
- 59:19If you want to watch World of Color, which is the big old
- 59:22water show that they have, which I recommend if you've never seen
- 59:26it before. Be sure you see World of Color
- 59:29and I really love it as Nick, but World of Color is really
- 59:31spectacular. So go see that you can get a
- 59:34free virtual queue for World of Color at noon, so that that is
- 59:40in your app if you're familiar with virtual queues.
- 59:43So basically what the virtual queue does is exactly what it
- 59:46sounds like. It virtually holds your place in
- 59:48line and it helps you be able to guarantee an entry to whatever
- 59:55it is that you're looking for most of the time.
- 59:59I shouldn't say most of the times, a lot of the time virtual
- 1:00:02queue rides do not have standby. But like World of Color is a
- 1:00:06little bit of a different beast just because it's a show versus
- 1:00:08like a specific attraction. But basically you're going to go
- 1:00:12on your app a couple different ways you can find it.
- 1:00:14You can find it just on the homepage of your app.
- 1:00:16If you Scroll down, it'll give you that option.
- 1:00:17You can also find it on your tip board if you're using Genie
- 1:00:20Plus. But basically you just go in,
- 1:00:22get your party all situated in the app, make sure everybody's
- 1:00:25included. And then Kate and I have talked
- 1:00:27about kind of the tip and trick of doing this.
- 1:00:30Check your Internet speed. Make sure you've got good
- 1:00:32Internet speed and then basically using like a world
- 1:00:36clock, double check your timing and then for the you know 15 to
- 1:00:412030 seconds before it hits, just start tapping the refresh
- 1:00:44button. It'll automatically turn into
- 1:00:47the join queue button and you just keep tapping and tapping
- 1:00:49and tapping and don't stop. And then it'll eventually kick
- 1:00:52you a somewhat randomized somewhat.
- 1:00:56The sooner you're in the lower number you get for your group
- 1:00:59number. And then in the app they will
- 1:01:02call your group number when it is your turn to enter either the
- 1:01:06queue if it were to be a ride or the seating area that they have
- 1:01:10blocked or standing area that they have blocked off for World
- 1:01:13of. Color.
- 1:01:13It's like color-coded. So they'll give you a show and
- 1:01:17they'll give you like a color, and then you go to that section
- 1:01:20for world of color. You don't have to use the
- 1:01:22virtual queue. It's not something where like if
- 1:01:25you don't use a virtual queue, you're not going to get in like
- 1:01:28if you think of virtual queues for like Cosmic Rewind or Tron
- 1:01:31at Disney World. So it's not the same as that,
- 1:01:33but it just gives you like early entry and specific areas that
- 1:01:38you're going to be allowed to stand in.
- 1:01:39Yeah, it gives you a better view of the show, you know, from more
- 1:01:43of a front facing area, So I would definitely recommend
- 1:01:47having it if you've never seen World of Color.
- 1:01:49If World of Color is not a priority, often times you can
- 1:01:52watch from some areas around the lagoon anyway and still see a
- 1:01:56big portion of it. So don't stress if you forgot
- 1:02:00and it's closed or whatever, but it is a nice thing to have if
- 1:02:03you've never seen it before. So noon World of Color I
- 1:02:07believe. I think if you have a park
- 1:02:11hopper, I think you can still book that from Disneyland, yes.
- 1:02:15When? Yes, when we looked up virtual
- 1:02:16queues, yes, you are able to book from either park as long as
- 1:02:20you have. If you're in Disneyland, as long
- 1:02:22as you have a park hopper it will be, you'll be eligible to
- 1:02:25book it on the app, yeah. So you don't have to physically
- 1:02:28walk over to California Adventure, you just have to be
- 1:02:32checked into one of the parks. Yes, by noon if you have to be
- 1:02:36in the parks to book that 1. So it's not something you can
- 1:02:38book from your resort or from standing outside the gates.
- 1:02:41You have to be physically tapped into the parks.
- 1:02:45Yes, and also a note, just like Disneyland has the areas that
- 1:02:50close for fireworks, the same is true for Disney.
- 1:02:53How to say Disney World for California Adventure California
- 1:02:58venture, the Pixar Pier area. Not all of the attractions
- 1:03:01closed, but a majority of them closed one hour before the 1st
- 1:03:06world of color. So don't wait till the end of
- 1:03:08the day to ride the Ingredi coaster.
- 1:03:10You're going to be very sad because it's close.
- 1:03:15And also they the silly swings, the Golden Zephyr, which like, I
- 1:03:18don't know who's riding that anyway.
- 1:03:20And the the big star pal around, which is the big Ferris wheel.
- 1:03:24And I got some like, mixed reviews because I was trying to
- 1:03:27figure out if I like, just never go in there that time of night
- 1:03:29because I'm like, everything's probably close anyway.
- 1:03:32But Midway Mania may or may not be opened.
- 1:03:34Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
- 1:03:36If anybody is a California. Person and they know it's for
- 1:03:40sure open during that time, cuz I always thought all of that
- 1:03:43stuff closed. But what is the Golden Zephyr
- 1:03:46Okay. So those of you who are not
- 1:03:49familiar, I'm gonna say this quickly.
- 1:03:51So the California Adventure was like Michael Eisner Park, right?
- 1:03:56And they did it on a severe budget.
- 1:03:59It's like ridiculous budget when it first opened.
- 1:04:03Compared to what they were building overseas with like
- 1:04:06Tokyo Disney and whatnot, the Imagineering team that had to
- 1:04:08work for California Adventure really didn't have any money to
- 1:04:12work with and they were encouraged to basically save as
- 1:04:15much as possible. So they bought a lot of kind of
- 1:04:17like off the shelf rides for this, which is so opposite of
- 1:04:21what Walt Disney wanted. So they made this like Midway
- 1:04:24area and they have the Silly Symphony Swing Swings, which was
- 1:04:28used to be like a giant orange and now it's more like the Silly
- 1:04:31Symphony swings with like. Mickey you know conducting a
- 1:04:34band but they they had one of the rides they got was called
- 1:04:41the Golden Zephyr and so it's like these almost like spaceship
- 1:04:45looking things that are on wires and then when it spins around
- 1:04:49they like lift up. Jackie's going to give us some
- 1:04:52visual aids they they lift off the ground and they swing around
- 1:04:55okay. So this is not and.
- 1:04:58If there's the lightest breeze, like a tiny breeze, they will
- 1:05:02not operate like at all. Literally just swinging around.
- 1:05:06It's not, it's not anything so it's not anything to spend your
- 1:05:12time on unless there's literally nothing else to do.
- 1:05:15I've done, I've gone in it once and I was like once was enough
- 1:05:18for me for my lifetime. So it's up to you if you want to
- 1:05:22experience the Golden Zephyr, but it does close during World
- 1:05:25of Color. Thanks Jackie.
- 1:05:27You're the better visual because I was even like I don't know
- 1:05:30that I know what that is even. It's like it's like Astro
- 1:05:33Orbiter, but slow and with a giant boload of people.
- 1:05:36So it's not exciting, it's just and apparently it's very
- 1:05:41expensive to maintain because like the cables and stuff that
- 1:05:44are on it like are only from one company or something.
- 1:05:46That's what I've heard. It's all.
- 1:05:48I don't know if it's 100%, but that's what I've heard, so Becca
- 1:05:53Bella wrote over here. Golden Zephyr is.
- 1:05:54Thumbs down. And they also have like the
- 1:06:00Jelly, jumping jellyfish and stuff over there, which like I
- 1:06:03think Jackie and I were talking about this the other day is
- 1:06:05similar to an attraction they have in Disneyland Paris.
- 1:06:08And I was like, Nope, I've been on that.
- 1:06:09I'm good. I don't need to go on that
- 1:06:11again. So Yep, that's about right.
- 1:06:16So Conductor Jackson says some of the attractions on certain
- 1:06:19days will stay open during World of Color to his knowledge.
- 1:06:21And that's what I've heard too. That's what I've researched.
- 1:06:23Like I'm pretty sure the credit coaster.
- 1:06:26There's a couple times I've seen that they have tried running it
- 1:06:29during World of Color, but it's almost always closed.
- 1:06:31So just don't depend on it being open.
- 1:06:33The other thing is under my general park notes for this one
- 1:06:38is Radiator Springs Racers is a nightmare now for standby with.
- 1:06:45The whole Lightning lane Genie plus situation, it just is
- 1:06:48awful. So my personal story, my tale of
- 1:06:52woe if you will, is me with my little 6 year old at the time
- 1:06:57and she really wanted to ride it and we wanted to ride it
- 1:06:59together, but so I was like okay, we're going to tough it
- 1:07:02out and do standby. We got in, it was 45 minutes and
- 1:07:06I was like I could do 45 minutes.
- 1:07:08I can tough it out, it's fine. And then?
- 1:07:11As we stood in line, they said your wait is now you know is now
- 1:07:16an hour because of our prioritizing lightning lanes.
- 1:07:19It's now an hour and a half. It's not.
- 1:07:20It went up to 225 minute wait while and our line literally
- 1:07:26stopped moving for like 1/2 hour and my daughter started to cry.
- 1:07:31She was like, I'm tired, I don't want to stand anymore.
- 1:07:33And I was like, I can't do this anymore.
- 1:07:36And it was so sad. It was the saddest moment for
- 1:07:39her. And of course we didn't.
- 1:07:41We went and did something else that was fun.
- 1:07:42She never got to go on it that trip because that that's what
- 1:07:45happens with that ride is that if they prioritize individual
- 1:07:49lightning lanes, and they will, they will, they will always do
- 1:07:52that because they need to. So if you don't want to pay to
- 1:07:57go on that and you don't want your sad children like mine
- 1:08:01sometimes you can eat at the right time of day and you'll be
- 1:08:03fine. But I that that was my story and
- 1:08:05I don't ever want to relive it. I don't want you guys to relive
- 1:08:08it so. My recommendation is wait until
- 1:08:11the end of the night right before the park closes.
- 1:08:14Get in the line then because no other individual lightning lanes
- 1:08:18can. Then enter the queue after that
- 1:08:20and it will move very quickly. And the cast members want to go
- 1:08:23home, so they want to get you through the line so everything
- 1:08:26moves really fast at the end of the night.
- 1:08:28And yeah, this was Radiator Springs Racers, for those of you
- 1:08:32who are asking. So Radiator Springs Racers is
- 1:08:34the big eticket attraction that's in Radiator Springs
- 1:08:38where. And it's amazing.
- 1:08:39You don't want to miss it. It's a, it's one of my favorite
- 1:08:42Disney rides and it tells the whole story of cars and and you.
- 1:08:47It has a dark element to it and that has a race at the end
- 1:08:49that's kind of like test track. It's amazing.
- 1:08:52So you definitely don't want to miss that, but ride at park
- 1:08:55close. All right.
- 1:08:56So. Another one of my park notes
- 1:08:59before I jump into our with Genie Plus itinerary.
- 1:09:03I would say one of my favorite traditions that most people
- 1:09:06don't know about if they're not Disneyland people, is the
- 1:09:09Radiator Springs lighting ceremony that happens at sunset.
- 1:09:12So head on over to Radiator Springs we can look up.
- 1:09:15Just Google what time sunset is and it happens within a couple
- 1:09:18of minutes of sunset and they play Shaboom.
- 1:09:21Life could be a dream, and the cast members dance with little
- 1:09:25flags and they have bubbles. And all the lights will
- 1:09:29progressively come on, starting at the end of the street and
- 1:09:31moving down. All the neon lights come on.
- 1:09:33And sometimes you see couples dancing together and kids are
- 1:09:36dancing and it's just it's just like little Disney magic that
- 1:09:40doesn't cost anything extra and everybody's in it together.
- 1:09:44And to me that's so special and just kind of disappearing in the
- 1:09:48parks a little bit. So I love that it's still there.
- 1:09:56That's all I got. I don't know the.
- 1:09:58Words for that song. Thanks Jackie for that, but it's
- 1:10:03a wonderful time to You can grab a little snack at the Cozy Cone
- 1:10:05if you want, and just chill out and wait for the lights to come
- 1:10:08on. And to our family, it's always
- 1:10:10been a tradition and it's really special, so I'd recommend that,
- 1:10:15Rick says they do. They theme it for the holidays
- 1:10:17too. I haven't been at that ceremony
- 1:10:21in the holidays, but they could. The whole land is themed for the
- 1:10:23holidays. Where they theme it for the
- 1:10:25holidays. The holidays, it's fabulous.
- 1:10:29The decor there is amazing. It's all cars themed and it's
- 1:10:32it's fantastic both for spooky season and for Christmas.
- 1:10:36So you know, it depends on where you go.
- 1:10:38Okay, that's enough of my general park notes moving on.
- 1:10:43So with Genie Plus, let's do GD Plus.
- 1:10:46However, a lot of these rides are for not all of them, but a
- 1:10:50lot of them are for older kids. So keep that in mind as you're
- 1:10:54booking that wait to book your first lightning lane until the
- 1:10:59return. Windows are about 30 minutes
- 1:11:01after park opening, so that gives you the ability to do some
- 1:11:04attractions that are exclusively via standby lines for the 1st 90
- 1:11:08minutes or so that California Adventures open, so you don't
- 1:11:11immediately have to use your. Lightning lane you can kind of
- 1:11:15just like wait a little bit. You can hit some rides while the
- 1:11:18wait times are low and regular standby lines and then start
- 1:11:22booking your lightning lanes. So I recommend that I will say
- 1:11:25though book and modify. Book and modify.
- 1:11:29Because again, if you're trying to get as much in as you
- 1:11:33possibly can in a day, book it as soon as you can and then just
- 1:11:37modify it out. That's smart.
- 1:11:39You know, maybe 10 minutes later look and modify it out a little
- 1:11:42bit because again, it could, it could possibly affect when
- 1:11:46you're booking your next on that early in the morning.
- 1:11:48It may or may not if you're getting a time that's within
- 1:11:51that two hour window, which we talked all about in our Genie
- 1:11:53Plus episode. But just my two cents, I always
- 1:11:56say book and then modify rather than waiting.
- 1:12:00That is smart. Thank you, Jackie.
- 1:12:01I'm going to do that next time. I'm also this is when you could
- 1:12:07get an individual Lightning lane is only available for Radiator
- 1:12:12Springs Racers. So if you don't want to deal
- 1:12:14with the nightmare that is Radiator Springs and you don't
- 1:12:16want to wait till the end of the day, then you can, you know, buy
- 1:12:20that first thing in the morning and and get that one.
- 1:12:23Then you should again. You should be able to get all
- 1:12:25the Genie Plus rides pretty easily.
- 1:12:28So right when you get into the park, if you're going to buy
- 1:12:31Radio Springs racers, do that first, then book your first
- 1:12:34Lightning Lane. And here is the order, which you
- 1:12:37should book based on how fast they disappear during the day.
- 1:12:42Guardians of the Get W Slingers, A Spiderman Adventure, Toy
- 1:12:47Story, Midway, Mania, Soaring Around the World, Monsters Inc,
- 1:12:53Grizzly River Run, Goofy Sky School, and then Incredi
- 1:12:56Coaster. So that's the order.
- 1:12:59That's fascinating to me. Being someone who doesn't know a
- 1:13:03ton about Disneyland and DCA and all of that, it's interesting to
- 1:13:08me the order of that. Yeah.
- 1:13:11A lot of it has to do with capacity.
- 1:13:12So, yeah, yeah, right. And sometime and all that good
- 1:13:16stuff. And a lot of people don't.
- 1:13:18I mean, well, that's not true. Midway Mania is all the way in
- 1:13:22the back of the park too, so it's kind of like it, but it
- 1:13:25goes really fast. I was going to say in Credit
- 1:13:27Coaster is all the way in the back of the park, but because it
- 1:13:30has such high capacity, it doesn't run out nearly as fast
- 1:13:33as the other ones. So that's why it's right the
- 1:13:35end. The Guardians goes pretty
- 1:13:38quickly, especially when it's themed for holidays, so keep
- 1:13:42that in mind. And web slingers used to be an
- 1:13:45individual lightning lane, and they changed it to just a
- 1:13:47lightning lane, so it's kind of a popular one.
- 1:13:52If you choose to not purchase your individual Lightning lane
- 1:13:56for radio space racers, you could go there first or
- 1:14:00otherwise start at Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout if
- 1:14:03you've got small kids and they're not going to like a
- 1:14:07Tower of Terror esque ride where there's drops in it.
- 1:14:11Then go for Radiator Springs Racers first.
- 1:14:14If you're just like, I just don't want to do that and risk
- 1:14:17like having a lot of lines again, you can do that at the
- 1:14:19end of the day. So I kind of like waffle back
- 1:14:22and forth about what I recommend for Radiator Springs Racers cuz
- 1:14:24I'm a little bit bitter about it now.
- 1:14:27I love that, but I'm it makes me sad.
- 1:14:30So it is what it is. So then I would do the.
- 1:14:35After that I would do the non Genie plus attractions in this
- 1:14:39order. Interspersed of course with your
- 1:14:41Genie plus attraction Jamboree which is Brolican Roadsters the
- 1:14:47Pixar pal around. Especially if you're doing the
- 1:14:49non swinging because that line does get long.
- 1:14:52They have swinging cars that are terrifying and then they have
- 1:14:56non swinging which are great. Just personal preference.
- 1:15:00Some people really love the swinging ones, but they make me
- 1:15:02sick. But.
- 1:15:04Then The Little Mermaid, Ariel's Undersea Adventure Redwood Creek
- 1:15:08Challenge Trail, Mickey's Philhart Magic World of Color
- 1:15:13with a virtual queue and then Radio Springs racers at the end.
- 1:15:16So if you have not got an individual lighting lane at that
- 1:15:19point, so those of you who are not familiar with California
- 1:15:24Adventure, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, you literally
- 1:15:27could do any time of the day because it is.
- 1:15:29Basically like a playground for kids to run around and enjoy and
- 1:15:33a lot of parents will run around with them.
- 1:15:35My kids are finally old enough that I'm kind of like just stay
- 1:15:38in this general area. I'll be right here on this bench
- 1:15:41and it's great. So it's good times with that,
- 1:15:44but we've chased our kids for many years around probably Jones
- 1:15:48Trail. I'm sure and I will mention too
- 1:15:50and I should have maybe mentioned this in the beginning
- 1:15:52when we started talking about this.
- 1:15:53Anytime you're utilizing Genie Plus these lists are a great
- 1:15:58starting point by number means are they an end all be all
- 1:16:01starting point. And here's the thing that I I
- 1:16:04like to kind of stress to people do not go cross park to back,
- 1:16:09cross park to back just just to follow this order.
- 1:16:13There's there's something to be said about being aware of your
- 1:16:16surroundings and what's closest to you and kind of tweaking and
- 1:16:21manipulating it to that extent. Especially when if you're, you
- 1:16:25know let's say you booked Guardians of the Galaxy is your
- 1:16:29first ride but you're going to mater's first to rope drop.
- 1:16:33You know like it's just it's a lot of back and forth.
- 1:16:35So just kind of look locationally where everything is
- 1:16:38that that can be said at Disneyland as well with what we
- 1:16:41talked about earlier. Look to see where things are
- 1:16:45before you get set on your plan. Yeah, it's not as critical.
- 1:16:51At Disneyland, because everything's so close together,
- 1:16:54it like it really is not as not as important, but I would agree
- 1:16:58there are some that are like this is all the way on the other
- 1:17:00side of the park and this is over here and you don't want to
- 1:17:02be running back and forth because they'll just get
- 1:17:04exhausted. So, but I do recommend touring
- 1:17:06plans for that because they'll take an account like walking
- 1:17:09distance and like things that are near each other and try to
- 1:17:13group them together while trying to minimize your weight as well,
- 1:17:16which I think is important so. Yes, absolutely.
- 1:17:18And May's asking what Goofy Sky School is.
- 1:17:21That is a Mad Mouse type roller coaster that's outdoors, that is
- 1:17:25themed like Goofy doesn't know how he's like teaching you how
- 1:17:29to fly I think, but it's like Goofy teaching you how to fly
- 1:17:32and so he like runs into stuff. It's really, if you have a fear
- 1:17:35of heights, it's not one I'd recommend.
- 1:17:37There's very small you would get in this little thing.
- 1:17:40And there's like a safety bar, but it feels like you're going
- 1:17:43to fly off the edge of things when you go around and you're
- 1:17:46really high up in the air. Yeah, a wild mouse coaster is
- 1:17:49kind of like where you would think, like a mouse goes here
- 1:17:52and then he turns around really quick and then goes over here.
- 1:17:54And then like, it's like, it kind of goes back and forth in
- 1:17:56like a you and it's in a really compact space.
- 1:17:58So those were around really popular in amusement parks for
- 1:18:01many, many, many years. So it's an old style kind of
- 1:18:06coaster and. I would say Space Mountain is
- 1:18:08like a modified mad mouse coaster.
- 1:18:11It's just like it's a little bit different of a design but it's
- 1:18:13the same kind of concept, it's like out and back.
- 1:18:16So that's what I would recommend for doing those non Genie plus
- 1:18:19attractions. So like I said that's that's
- 1:18:21pretty much all there is there. So you're going to do the Genie
- 1:18:25plus ones interspersed with the other ones and that's that's
- 1:18:29your day and it really you can get.
- 1:18:31Pretty much all that done in a day.
- 1:18:32It's not that big of a park, but if you're booking without GD
- 1:18:36plus I would recommend book ending your day with web
- 1:18:41slingers on one side and radio springs racers at the end.
- 1:18:44So those are like the big ones. Then I would do probably with
- 1:18:50web slingers. First this is the morning web
- 1:18:53slingers, then potentially Soren, then Mater's Junker
- 1:18:58Jamboree. Luigi's Rollican Roadsters, the
- 1:19:01Pixar Pal around Toy Story, Midway Mania, and then the
- 1:19:04Incredi coaster for your morning.
- 1:19:08If you're going to eat lunch in the park, I'd recommend Pimstas.
- 1:19:11Kitchen is probably my favorite restaurant there, but with kids.
- 1:19:15I love to sit at Flo's V8 Cafe, but go sit as long as it's not
- 1:19:19too hot. Go sit in the back of the of it.
- 1:19:22Most people don't even know they're seating back there.
- 1:19:24In the very back of the cafe you can exit, there's a door you can
- 1:19:28go out. Sit in the back because you can
- 1:19:30watch all the cars from radio springs, racers roll by and it's
- 1:19:33just really fun to watch the cars go by and it's beautiful
- 1:19:37out there. So I love sitting there
- 1:19:39personally. Is it loud?
- 1:19:41Like I think of like if I were to sit outside of like outside
- 1:19:44of test track is really loud. Is that one OK?
- 1:19:48No, I know. It's curious.
- 1:19:49For my own very loud, yeah. Because like, again, you talk
- 1:19:52about sensory needs, like, like loud sounds is or are my kiddos
- 1:19:57biggest sensory issues when we're in the parks?
- 1:20:00So it's like, oh, I would love to do that.
- 1:20:01But wait, I need to make sure. You know, it's not like Test
- 1:20:04track. Test Track is super loud.
- 1:20:06It's and also there's like a road in between you and the
- 1:20:09track. So you're actually pretty far
- 1:20:11from it. It's not that loud.
- 1:20:12It's kind of like a car driving fast two blocks away.
- 1:20:17I think what I would say, it was what you hear literally.
- 1:20:19My kids have stood outside of test track, heard it and then
- 1:20:22said I don't want to go on that. I don't blame them, it's loud,
- 1:20:26but the the the only thing that's loud there is the they
- 1:20:30have metal chairs and sometimes people scrape them on the
- 1:20:32ground. So I would say like that's the
- 1:20:34worst part sensory wise of that and if you're at the wrong time
- 1:20:38of the year, the trees do drop stuff on you, but they have an
- 1:20:40overhang part where you're not under the trees.
- 1:20:42So it just choose choose. You're proceeding wisely based
- 1:20:46on what the trees are doing. Some extra greenery in your
- 1:20:49food, you know, it literally went in my milkshake this last
- 1:20:53time. I was like, okay, maybe not
- 1:20:55right there. So that day, the food at Flo's
- 1:21:00VA Cafe used to be a whole lot better than it is.
- 1:21:02They change their menu and it's not as good, but it's still like
- 1:21:05good family food where most people will find something they
- 1:21:08like to eat. So I recommend it for families
- 1:21:11for that. After lunch, I would recommend
- 1:21:15the things again that like just don't have much of A weight,
- 1:21:18right. So we're going to do Little
- 1:21:20Mermaid, Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Redwood Creek
- 1:21:22Challenge Trail, Mickey's Philhar Magic, which is a lot of
- 1:21:26people don't even know it's there, but it's there.
- 1:21:28I promise Monsters Inc can still have a weight.
- 1:21:32I will say this with like an asterisk that one can get really
- 1:21:35long if there's a lot of Lightning main people cutting in
- 1:21:38front of you. So that's another one where your
- 1:21:40weight can go way up. If you feel like the line is
- 1:21:43really long for that, come back later in the evening because
- 1:21:46it's just not worth it to wait and or that one for a really
- 1:21:49long time. You can also do the animation
- 1:21:52Academy is available and then that.
- 1:21:56So that's a great place to go and then the sorcerer's workshop
- 1:21:59is in there as well and turtle talk with crush.
- 1:22:02So there's a couple of activities that are low weight
- 1:22:05and also indoors if you need to get out of heat.
- 1:22:07So after dinner good times do Guardians, the healthy and
- 1:22:13Radiator Springs Racers as your last thing to do.
- 1:22:17So that's my advice for California Adventure.
- 1:22:22Be like I have talked for a long.
- 1:22:25Time. You know, as we were prepping
- 1:22:27this episode, I told Kate, I said I'm really sorry.
- 1:22:29Like, I'm, I'm here with whatever you need.
- 1:22:32But I am not a Disneyland person.
- 1:22:34I'm slowly learning because eventually we'll get there, but
- 1:22:37I'm slowly learning. I mean, I did see, I think Ali,
- 1:22:39Beth was talking about taking notes.
- 1:22:41I think maybe we'll come up with some sort of graphic.
- 1:22:43Way to get this to you guys like that one to do in what order?
- 1:22:47Might help be helpful, Yeah. So we'll come up with a couple
- 1:22:49lists here. We may throw some stuff in our
- 1:22:51Discord and then probably post some stuff on like our Instagram
- 1:22:55Stories, like we've done with some of the other things that
- 1:22:57we've had. So we'll get that out to you
- 1:22:59guys here in the next, hopefully by next episode.
- 1:23:02Let's put it that way. There's Connector Jackson's also
- 1:23:07mentioning the Rogers musical, which is happening through the
- 1:23:10rest of the summer, but only till October 31st I think.
- 1:23:13And that does have a virtual queue right now.
- 1:23:15So if you're going soon, make sure you look for that virtual
- 1:23:18queue as well in your app. It'll tell you when you can
- 1:23:21join. There's a it's a couple times a
- 1:23:23day. I think you can join the virtual
- 1:23:24queue for that. Two or three.
- 1:23:26I think whenever we looked up I'd have to look at them, but
- 1:23:30yes, but it's only through the summer and then it's sadly gone
- 1:23:33because I I'm hoping to see it this August because I want to
- 1:23:36see it before this abuse. Yeah, and I will mention just
- 1:23:39because we talked about single rider lines at Disneyland at
- 1:23:42DCA, your single rider options are Goofy, Sky School and Credit
- 1:23:46Coaster. Radiator Springs Racers does
- 1:23:49have a single rider option, Grizzly River Run Web Slingers
- 1:23:54and Soren, which is fascinating to me that Soren over there has
- 1:23:58a single rider option. I don't even think I've used the
- 1:24:01single rider option there, so. Well, and go investigate that
- 1:24:04one. They messed around with that at
- 1:24:06Disney World for like a week. Yeah, like 3 months ago all this
- 1:24:12appeared. I don't know where Soren has the
- 1:24:15single rider line and everyone was like, well it does in
- 1:24:17Disneyland and it's like, well it hasn't come back since, so it
- 1:24:21must not have worked as well in Disney World.
- 1:24:24But so several more options for single rider.
- 1:24:26So if you're doing a solo trip. Or if you're you know if it's
- 1:24:31something that maybe you debated about using rider swap, maybe
- 1:24:36doing a single rider line instead and just doing your own
- 1:24:39type of rider swap might be a faster option for some of those.
- 1:24:44Rather than waiting in a 60 minute queue and then doing the
- 1:24:47shorter line. It may be quicker to just do
- 1:24:49single rider lines if you are able to finagle that with
- 1:24:52younger kiddos or kiddos who don't want to ride.
- 1:24:54Yeah. And Christine is asking like how
- 1:24:58single rider affects wait times. And I I I mean, I think it
- 1:25:02affects it probably positively because those people don't have
- 1:25:05to wait in a regular line and it's just spare seats they have
- 1:25:08to fill anyway. So that's why it's a bonus for
- 1:25:10everybody. Yeah, I don't know that it
- 1:25:12affects it terribly because it's literally just there.
- 1:25:16It's it's something that they would have just sent with an
- 1:25:18empty seat anyway. So because I know when I've done
- 1:25:23single rider lines at like Disney World.
- 1:25:26It's like okay, single rider here.
- 1:25:27Like go get in there. Yeah, I keep up with the people.
- 1:25:31You gotta go. We got seats to fill.
- 1:25:33Come on. Yeah.
- 1:25:35And I've done single rider lines.
- 1:25:36I haven't tried one in Soren, so I don't even know they had one.
- 1:25:40That's news to me, honestly. So I was like, okay, great.
- 1:25:42Straight from the Disneyland website.
- 1:25:44So okay, great. But I have done often the the
- 1:25:49Incredi Coaster one, so you line up for that.
- 1:25:53The entrance for that is if you are coming around over the
- 1:25:57bridge down heading towards in the Incredi Coaster, it's kind
- 1:26:01of like there's a fence and you'll kind of see everybody
- 1:26:03line up along the fence and it's it's it's not like the exit of
- 1:26:07the ride. It's actually like just a long
- 1:26:09list fence and you'll see a cast member with an umbrella and you
- 1:26:12end up going in one elevator and then you go over and you go down
- 1:26:15another elevator and then there's a.
- 1:26:18It's the line. Fascinating.
- 1:26:20Yeah, it's a very strange, it's like the the most awkward
- 1:26:22elevator ride ever, but that's a single rider light.
- 1:26:28And then I will say in Radiator Springs Racers, I usually don't.
- 1:26:32If I go in the the single rider line and it is like past the
- 1:26:36bridge because there's a bridge you go under.
- 1:26:38If it's past the bridge, I usually come back later because
- 1:26:42I know that's going to take a pretty long time to go through.
- 1:26:44It's hard to predict the single rider lines, but right in
- 1:26:47general that one will probably take a little bit too long for
- 1:26:50me. So if it's past the bridge,
- 1:26:52maybe consider coming back later for that.
- 1:26:54And those single rider lines can really be hit or miss at any
- 1:26:58park, no matter what you're going to.
- 1:27:00You know, I think about the ones that we have in Disney World and
- 1:27:03it's like. If you look at 2 roller coasters
- 1:27:05that we have them for, we have them for rock and roller coaster
- 1:27:07in Hollywood studios and we have them for exhibition, Everest and
- 1:27:10Animal Kingdom, drastically different single rider lines.
- 1:27:13So it just really depends, you may get super lucky, you may get
- 1:27:17stuck. So it's just it's hard to know
- 1:27:20especially with rides that are two seaters.
- 1:27:25You know if you get more odd seats in in things like
- 1:27:28something like Soren is probably moves quicker because there's
- 1:27:31more seats that you can fill. So it's a higher likelihood that
- 1:27:35they have single individual seats in that particular
- 1:27:38attraction. So it really just depends and it
- 1:27:41can be kind of hard to predict, but most of the time you're
- 1:27:45going to get a shorter wait, yeah.
- 1:27:47And I would say like smugglers run, I have waited in that for
- 1:27:52single rider for like an hour before because.
- 1:27:54It just didn't need it, yeah. And sometimes it goes really
- 1:27:57fast and sometimes it's really long.
- 1:27:59So it's luck of the draw. It's like rolling that, rolling
- 1:28:01the dice when you get the. Single rider line Yeah, yeah.
- 1:28:04But then something like I said Expedition Everest, you can
- 1:28:07pretty much almost walk on. Single.
- 1:28:08Yeah, like it's always the way to go super fast.
- 1:28:11It's like we don't even bother if there's two of us for like,
- 1:28:13Oh yeah, we're doing single rider.
- 1:28:16Yeah, and then like at. I think of like Smugglers run at
- 1:28:19Disney World's version. I feel like that line is never
- 1:28:22longer than like maybe 20 minutes tops for a single rider.
- 1:28:26That was the one I waited in for a long.
- 1:28:28Time did you? Yeah, Okay.
- 1:28:29But you know, I think when it was like that might have been
- 1:28:32closer to when it opened ish and it.
- 1:28:34So it was a little bit more popular, but right.
- 1:28:37And generally speaking, those single rider lines do ebb and
- 1:28:40flow. Reflective of the standby lines.
- 1:28:43So if you're getting in a single rider line and the standby is
- 1:28:46only 15 minutes, it's going to be a drastically different
- 1:28:49single rider line than something that's 150 minutes.
- 1:28:51You know, like drastically different.
- 1:28:54And then just use your gut. If you get in line of that
- 1:28:56single Rider line and you don't move for 15 minutes, that's
- 1:29:00probably bad news and you shouldn't.
- 1:29:02Pivot. Abandon ship.
- 1:29:03Go somewhere else and circle back around.
- 1:29:06Yeah, yeah, for sure. And that's for any line,
- 1:29:10honestly, not just single Rider lines.
- 1:29:11But if you get if there's no forward motion, maybe just come
- 1:29:16back, cuz they'll almost guarantee there'll be another
- 1:29:18time of day. Then it gets better.
- 1:29:20Except for maybe Rise the Resistance or something like
- 1:29:23that. And I think that Radio Springs
- 1:29:26racers, they've been really good, those cast members kind of
- 1:29:28like letting you know kind of how long the wait is for a
- 1:29:32single rider because you can't see how long it is from the
- 1:29:36entrance, which is true of most single riders anyway.
- 1:29:39But some of them, like in Credit Coaster, you can see how many
- 1:29:42people are standing in line, which helps a lot for like the
- 1:29:46single Rider line. But you can't see Radiator
- 1:29:48Springs Racers until you physically get in the line.
- 1:29:50And I've ditched that so many times.
- 1:29:52So like, I'm just not. It's fast.
- 1:29:54The bridge, I'm done, I'm out, I'll come back.
- 1:29:58Well, I think that I think we've covered it.
- 1:30:00Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, those are kind of my
- 1:30:04best, my best tips for how to tour it Well again, if you're
- 1:30:09feeling super overwhelmed by trying to figure all that out,
- 1:30:12I'm going to recommend Again, I'm not paid by them, I just
- 1:30:14used them for years. Touring plans is a really great
- 1:30:16option for pre planning out what you're going to do and then also
- 1:30:21being able to optimize it on the fly based on current wait times
- 1:30:25and rides that are down and that kind of thing.
- 1:30:26So definitely recommend that, yeah, and like we mentioned,
- 1:30:29we'll come up with some sort of a graphic for you guys to have.
- 1:30:31That kind of puts these lists in front of you, so you can pick
- 1:30:35and choose and kind of put your puzzle pieces together, so to
- 1:30:37speak, from your Genie Plus list and your non Genie Plus list,
- 1:30:41especially in Disneyland. But kind of get that guy that.
- 1:30:46Get that out to you. There we go.
- 1:30:48That was a struggle, but we'll get that out to you.
- 1:30:51So that way you guys have access to that so it's a little clearer
- 1:30:55for you. And then next week we will hop
- 1:30:59over to Florida and we will be covering Magic Kingdom and Epcot
- 1:31:04is the plan for next week. So if you want more info about
- 1:31:09doing a single day and those parks.
- 1:31:12Come on back next week, so that way we can come back next week
- 1:31:15so Jackie can talk the whole time.
- 1:31:18Hey, not the whole time. You had it.
- 1:31:20You have more input, yes. It won't be.
- 1:31:23It won't be The Entirely Kate Show because.
- 1:31:26We both have knowledge when it comes to Disney World, but.
- 1:31:31Some of the Genie plus stuff, I feel like I've got a little bit
- 1:31:34of an edge on, so we can you didn't have collaborate.
- 1:31:36It's true of that. I will give you that.
- 1:31:38I will grant you that it's like help.
- 1:31:42I don't know what I'm doing. Please send us a message.
- 1:31:44Reach out to us. You can find us on all of the
- 1:31:46socials you can. E-mail us if that's your jam at
- 1:31:50momstusa@gmail.com. You can find us on our Discord.
- 1:31:53If you're not familiar with the Walrus Carp Pocket Fam Discord,
- 1:31:57we are a part of that and have our own Mom St.
- 1:31:59USA channel on there so you can reach out to us on there as
- 1:32:02well. And links to all of that can be
- 1:32:04found in this general vicinity. So Yep, next week we're headed
- 1:32:08to Magic Kingdom at Epcot. And then after that, I'm headed
- 1:32:11to Disneyland, I think. So we'll do a chat.
- 1:32:13A little chat together, yes. Yeah.
- 1:32:16So we'll have just a brief intermission episode, but before
- 1:32:19we finish. Out our three-part series on
- 1:32:22these park strategies, but we just really feel like something
- 1:32:25like this can be super helpful. I know a lot of people that like
- 1:32:28to do day trips or like to do solo trips, or are maybe only
- 1:32:34going to be able to get to the parks once every. 234 years.
- 1:32:38So something like this can be super, super helpful.
- 1:32:42Not only that, but if you're someone that gets really
- 1:32:45overwhelmed with it, like I said, reach out for help.
- 1:32:48I do help people with itineraries when it comes to
- 1:32:50that and Genie Plus and all of that like this.
- 1:32:52I look at rides and I make lists and I figure out what you know,
- 1:32:56strategy makes the most sense. So if you need help with that,
- 1:32:59like I said, please reach out so that way we can help you make
- 1:33:02the most of your singular park day if that's your your case.
- 1:33:07Indeed. And Jackie's amazing at it.
- 1:33:09She is. She's helping me for Disneyland
- 1:33:11Paris because I only have time to plan the rest of my European
- 1:33:15adventure. So it's like Jackie helped me
- 1:33:16cuz I haven't been there for a long time.
- 1:33:18So, and it's been fun, and I think we're planning on maybe
- 1:33:21doing at least one. Episode on some Disneyland Paris
- 1:33:24stuff, kind of after Kate comes back from from overseas, so we
- 1:33:27can give you guys all some insight on.
- 1:33:31Whether or not what we found was accurate, I guess I know what it
- 1:33:34will end up being like. Nope, that didn't work.
- 1:33:36Or yeah, it worked really well. I know we'll have to do like a
- 1:33:39one day itinerary for both of those parks over there, cuz I
- 1:33:42think that would, but based on your research and my personal
- 1:33:46experience going there, we'll know it really well by that
- 1:33:48point. So it'll be great.
- 1:33:50Absolutely. Absolutely.
- 1:33:51All righty. Well, I think that's it.
- 1:33:54So thank you everybody for joining us for this episode of
- 1:33:58Mom St. USA.
- 1:33:58Thank you to our chat for being extra super helpful with all of
- 1:34:01the little details as we try to conquer Disneyland and DCA in a
- 1:34:06day each, which is really hard to do, but that we gave our best
- 1:34:10advice for how to do that. And next week we'll head to
- 1:34:14Magic Kingdom and Epcot. And beyond that, thank you for
