  Speaker 1: Each day I want to talk about a different one.

  Speaker 1: And you know, every weekday at this time, we open

  Speaker 1: God's word, the Bible, and just listen to Him and
• 0:23
  Speaker 1: let Him shape and direct our lives.

  Speaker 1: Well, what is the most important thing in your life?

  Speaker 1: Number one, your personal relationship with God.
• 0:37
  Speaker 1: Your personal relationship with God.

  Speaker 1: This is true whether you feel like you have a
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: good relationship with God or a bad relationship with God.
• 0:47
  Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. It's the most important thing in your life.

  Speaker 1: It's the one thing you have to get right in
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: life is your relationship with God. And you know, so
• 0:59
  Speaker 1: many things in our lives offend God and put distance
• 1:03
  Speaker 1: between us and Him. Our conscience tells us that we've
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: done things that are wrong, and we feel like, well,
• 1:08
  Speaker 1: what would God want to do with me.

  Speaker 1: But the reality is that God loves you so deeply,
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: and He has come into our world in the person
• 1:18
  Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ. He died on the cross to take
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: the judgement of God for our sins so that we
• 1:27
  Speaker 1: could experience the forgiveness of God and become a part
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: of God's family. The Bible says to as many as
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: received Him, He gave the right to become children of God.

  Speaker 1: And when you make that decision to put your trust
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: in what God has done for you, to give you forgiveness,
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: not something you earn, something He gives you, then you
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: start a life of a relationship with God as His
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: son or his daughter, and that becomes the most important
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: thing in your life.

  Speaker 1: The apostle Paul in Philippians chapter 3 said about his
• 2:04
  Speaker 1: own journey through life, Whatever gain I had, I counted
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count
• 2:16
  Speaker 1: everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing
• 2:23
  Speaker 1: Christ Jesus, my Lord.

  Speaker 1: It's this personal relationship with God that changes your life. Uh,
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: you know, it's so different from just doing religious things.

  Speaker 1: You may have this sense, well, to be right with God,
• 2:39
  Speaker 1: I've just got to do all the religious things, never
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: miss church, always do this and that and all the
• 2:44
  Speaker 1: list of things you think you have to do, uh,
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: the churchy things to be right with God.

  Speaker 1: And of course, being involved in church and hearing God's
• 2:53
  Speaker 1: word taught, all these things are so good and positive,
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: but only if they are tied to your relationship with God.

  Speaker 1: In the Old Testament, it was the people of Israel who, uh,
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: God had revealed Himself to, and they were following the
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: things that God said they should do in terms of
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: meeting together and having assemblies and
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: And offering their sacrifices, and God says to them at
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: one point, I hate your solemn assemblies. I hate your
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: sacrifices because your heart is far from me.
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: What God is concerned about is not those religious activities
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: you're doing to try to be right with Him. Yes,
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: do them, but do them to grow your relationship with Him.

  Speaker 1: Get to know Him. Listen again to what Paul says.

  Speaker 1: I count everything else as loss because of the surpassing
• 3:52
  Speaker 1: worth of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord.

  Speaker 1: I wonder today, do you know God in that personal way,

  Speaker 1: or do you just have a religiosity, or maybe you
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: don't even have that religiosity and God is not a
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: part of your life.

  Speaker 1: In any case, I want to tell you that the
• 4:12
  Speaker 1: most important thing in your life is your personal relationship
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: with God. If you feel like you're searching for something
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: in your life, that something is missing, that things aren't right,
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: what is missing is God. You need God in your life.
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: He brings hope in the most hopeless situations, and in
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: the best happy situations. He's there to share it with you.
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: He is the source of life.
