- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I want to um do what we're doing this morning.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: I want to honor the mothers, those who have raised children.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: I want to honor those whose children have turned out well.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: I want to honor those whose children have struggled more than you wanted them to.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: I want to honor those who wanted children and never did have them.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Honor those ladies who maybe you chose not to.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: But I want to honor all the ladies this morning.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Um I I I want to uh I'm excited about sharing something this morning.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: This one is for the girls.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: We want to honor you.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: God honors you today.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: And uh so what I want to do is actually, this was uh Judy uh taught in a uh a uh women's weekend uh sometime back, and she taught a three-part series on this.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: So I took some of her things that I that I pulled out and I wanted to bring that to us this morning because because we want to see this morning.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: We as a blanket statement, we'll say, yeah, God loves us and God, you know, God honors uh uh honors us.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: And in the ladies particular, I want to I want to point out what God specifically says and what he thinks and how he how he really, really, really honors.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: And and and I want to get into how it how it got messed up and how some things got misunderstood, even in the Bible.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Um, but I was asked one time it was a few years ago, and it was after um after Teresa died.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I was asked, what did I learn from those years, all those years being married?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And uh and I thought about about that, and of course, what was included in that that that marriage was that that we raised two girls.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: We didn't have any boys, we raised two girls.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: And this was somebody, and and and these girls taught me so much because when I first started out, I was I was I was the most probably you know male-centric, chauvinistic, um, just uh honestly did not behave very respectfully toward uh the opposite sex at all.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Uh married a beautiful woman, and over the years I learned the beauty and the glory of what uh a woman is, and then raising daughters and seeing these princesses and seeing how precious and beautiful they are.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: So my answer was what I learned in that relationship was that women are the most amazing and glorious part of all God's creation, and I mean that sincerely.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And uh and uh I hope God can reveal that to us in a way that that every one of us can see that and and and and know that.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Um one of the reasons I say that is because there's a beauty there, there's a difference between men and women.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: We know there are differences, but the beauty of it is this.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Uh first let me say this.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: You know, all my life I've been in places, I've been in workplaces and been in groups of people.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: You get with groups of men and they talk about, ah, women, you know, they're just and then the women they'll talk about their men and they'll roll their eyes, and yeah, men, you know, men are dense, they don't they don't understand anything, they don't hear, they don't, and men talk about how the women are just they're super, they're emotional and they don't make any sense and they're illogical and all that.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: But in reality, those differences are are are are the beauty.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: What we love, guys, whether uh ladies, what we love about you, about you women is that very thing, is how you're so in touch with with the with the feelings and with the emotions and the intuition, and that's what makes you such a wonderful lover and nurturer and and makes you beautiful when it comes to relationships.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: This is one of the things that we that we we we really, really love.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Now, if people don't understand and appreciate that, it can drive it can drive people crazy.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: But but we we understand that women are not men and men are not women, that they're they're made to be together and they complement each other in in certain ways.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: So we want to honor the ladies this morning.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: We want to do what Jesus does, and we'll see that in the word, is elevate the ladies to their rightful place.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Because things got messed up for all creatures at one time.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: When the when when when when the humans uh we call it the fall, but what we did was we chose to do this ourselves instead of enjoying God.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: So I want to look at Genesis chapter 1, verse 27, and it talks about the creation, and it says, So God created man in his own image.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: In the image of God he created him, male and female, he created them.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Then God blessed them, both.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: He blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion, have dominion, have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves on the earth.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: So God made male and female in his image, and he commissioned them both to have dominion over all the other things that were created.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Now, when we say God gave man dominion, he gave man dominion over all the creation, but it did not give him dominion over the female human.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: They were to both to have dominion and they were royalty.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: They were to rule in this earth together.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: In other words, think of it as a king and a queen.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Not a king and a servant, right?
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: He made a king and a queen, two to rule together.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: In fact, when he made men, he you know he said it's not good that man would be alone.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: In fact, he he says we see that they were made, that women were made by God, women were made in his image, and women were made royalty.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: They were made to rule together.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: He did not create a servant class.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: In fact, that very word that some people use to diminish the position of the female is that word help, I'll make a help meet for him.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: We've sort of just kind of turned into one word, and I've heard I'm thinking of one lady when someone was trying to honor her, she goes, Oh no, he's he's the important one here.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: I'm just a help meet.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: And it's really that's not even a word, it's two words.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: He said, I will make a help meet or compatible for him.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: And that Hebrew word is Azar, uh, let me see if I Azar conegdo.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Azar is the word help, and it's always, almost always used when God brings rescue or or or saves someone in a situation.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: It's a strong help.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: It literally means to rescue.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: He said, I will make someone to rescue this man from his condition of being by himself.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Conegdo is a word that means uh that means means means it's compatible.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: It doesn't mean servant.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Uh it's actually it's actually one that's that's equal and complementary.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: And so he created that.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: He didn't create a servant class.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: It was all like this in the beginning.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: We established that, that this was the heart and the will and the purpose of God, man and woman together in this beautiful, beautiful walk together in dominion.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: Then came the fall.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Now, everything changed with the choice that we made, and then we start seeing some things here in the Word, and as we look at this, understand too many people get their roles of men and women from what happened after the fall.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: When we should be getting it from what happened before the fall.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Because, well, let's go ahead and read it.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Genesis chapter uh 3, verse 16, after we did the dirty deed there, says, to the woman, he said, I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception, first of all.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: I want to say something here.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: That word I will, making it look like God says, I'm going to bring this upon you.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: No, it's not in the Bible.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: It's not there.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Look it up.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: And and and and and instead of just taking my word for it all the time, just get you a little concordance.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: You can get you an app and just it's right there.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Look it up anytime, and that word I will is not there.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: A lot of times things are said in a way where it looks like it looks like God demeans and diminishes women and curses women.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: And and he doesn't.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: What brought the situation was the fall.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: He didn't even curse man.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: People say God cursed man, male and female.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: He didn't, he God did not curse them.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: He what he said, in a sense, in essence, was Adam, did you eat of that tree?
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's gonna be hard for you now.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: It's why I told you not to do that.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: He said, for your sake, because of you, not because of me.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Because of this choice that you made, it's gonna be hard now.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: The ground is gonna be is going to give grudgingly.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: You're gonna work by the sweat of your brow.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: So to Eve, to the to the woman, he's saying, now with the fall, he's saying, There's gonna be sorrow in your conception, there's gonna be pain.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Because you're doing, you've chosen this on your own.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: There's gonna be pain bringing forth children, and he says, and your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Now, God was not setting his heavenly law of man and woman here.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: He said, Because of this fall, because of what you did now, that man's gonna rule over you.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: That physically stronger one in his fallen condition, in his selfish condition, in his with his desires, because of what you guys have chosen, it's not gonna be like I intended it.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Man, this man is going to be ruling over you.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: And and and if you look at history, I see some of you ladies are turning to your husbands a lot right now.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Throughout history, this is what has happened.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: And it got really, really bad for a while.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Uh it has gotten better in a lot of ways since then, thank God, because of what Jesus uh does.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: But we're gonna see how Jesus actually restored this whole thing back to its original intent from God.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: So, what happened with this fall says, this man now, he's gonna be ruling over you.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: So, with the fall, the queen now becomes a subject to the man because of the fall, not because of God.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: The queen becomes a subject.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: She goes from partnership, we have a we have a uh a they relate rather than in partnership, then we have things that come on by men who control and dominate polygamy, where you can have many wives, and wives are just property.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Um patriarchy, where men dominate, just like God said, this fall would bring it on.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Not the restoration, not the original intent, but the fall of man would bring that on.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: And so that needs to be understood because a lot of times people, Christians, will go back and they'll say, No, God says that man should rule over women.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: That was that was never the the the heart of God.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: In fact, um, if even um even in Ephesians 5.22, people will quote that and they'll say, See, even the word of God says that that women should should submit to men.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Do you know the Bible does not say that women should submit to men?
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: I'll quote it exactly.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: It says, wives submit yourselves to your own husbands.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: There's a couple of big differences there.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Number one, it doesn't even say just wives submit yourself to husband.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: It says wives submit yourself to your own husband.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: There's a word there, it's the word idios.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: It says, wives submit yourself to your idios.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's where we get the word idiot from.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: Submit yourself to your idios husband.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Your own husband.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: Why was that?
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Why did he have to say that?
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Because men, the way men treated women, was that any man could walk by and tell your wife to carry this thing for him.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: That's how they were treated.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: This is even in Jesus' day.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: So he says, wives, you submit to your own husband.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: This is all part of how of after after Jesus came, and now they're talking to people in the church.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: They say, Wives, you and that word submit, look it up.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: It doesn't mean it doesn't mean be a second-class citizen or a servant.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: That word submit, look it up.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: It means to stand up under.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: It's a there again, it's that strong word of help.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: You know, just if I see my neighbor working and I can see he needs another hand and I go to help him, it doesn't mean that that I'm a servant.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: I'm offering strong help.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: I've got something that I can offer and I can give.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: To stand up under, look at it like this.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: This cup, but this this podium is standing up under the cup.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Does it mean that the cup's greater?
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: No.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: It's just that one is holding up the other or helping helping the other.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: So the queen goes from the queen goes goes from a queen to now she's treated like a subject.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Now she's treated like a servant.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Uh she she started being treated like property.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: And we come to the days of Jesus and it's going on big time.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: The Greek thought of the day and the Jews that Jesus came into their midst were heavily influenced by Greek thought.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: So, just to read some things, here's what Greeks thought about women.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: And people think that Greeks were so smart.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: They believed that Zeus, their their God, their highest God, created women so they could punish uppity men.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: To keep men from thinking too highly of themselves.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: They believed that the gods created women to harass and to trouble men.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: No, no, nobody's saying nothing.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Women are cunning and deadly, is what they believed.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: They believed these things.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: They believed it.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Women are the ultimate cause of all suffering and heartache.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Greek philosophers.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Whoever puts his trust in a woman puts his trust in tricksters.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Do you realize that in this time a woman was not allowed to testify in court because they didn't believe she was capable of telling the truth?
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: This is what men who would rule over women were saying.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: This is what they thought.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: This is what the fall brings, this kind of kind of stuff.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: One of the examples, Aristotle.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: People quote Aristotle all the time.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, he was a great mind.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Aristotle said this.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: Aristotle also said that the male is by nature superior and the female inferior.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: The male is the ruler and the female is the subject.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: Jewish thought, which was heavily influenced, these were the Jews.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Jesus came to the Jews.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: This is what they thought in this time.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Some still do.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: That the birth of a daughter is a loss, not a gain.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: That men's wickedness is better than woman's goodness.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: That the worst a man could do is still better than the best a woman could do.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: These are the people.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Jesus comes to the Jews and he's walking among these people.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: And that I know, I don't blame the women for walking out right now.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: I don't blame you at all.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: He says, A woman's voice is nakedness, and one may not speak with her.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: They would not, in Jesus' time, they would not speak with women.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: That's one reason Jesus was so like way out there, like, whoa, Jesus.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: In fact, there is a there was a group of Pharisees that they called the bruised and bleeding Pharisees.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: That was a nickname.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Because when they saw a woman, they would close their eyes because it was, it would, they didn't want to look on wickedness.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: And they would close their eyes and they would run into things, and they would see them having their cuts and their bruises and their scars, and they knew that they had been closing their eyes a lot.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: A woman's voice is nakedness, and one may not speak with her.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Women's wisdom is solely at the spindle.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: In other words, in modern times, they'd say she belongs in the kitchen.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: Whoever teaches his daughter Torah teaches her lasciviousness.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: She was not supposed to learn the word of God in those days.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: A woman could not be taught, a woman could not be trusted with the word of God.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: This is how women were being treated when your Jesus shows up.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: And that's why when you look at the stories, now when you read the stories of Jesus and how he treated women, it brings such clarity to and uh and and it shows you how revolutionary that Jesus is.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: At least he was revolutionary to the generation.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: All he was doing was honoring people the way that God always honored them from the beginning.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: That's why Jesus always elevates everybody in every place, every class, every color, every everything, because that's the heart of God.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said, if you want to see the Father, look at me.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Jesus came and he, in every situation, he restored the place of women big time.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: Look at this.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: He went out of his way and did this.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: He went out of his way so often.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: See, when we read the Bible, we don't understand the history of this thing.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: We just think it's like in modern days, you know, he just came up to a woman and he would talk to her just like a lot of people would.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: But you didn't do that in those days.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Jesus, in front of all these people, flaunted the glory and the honor of the women.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: For one instance, he taught women when you were not supposed to teach women.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Jesus goes into the women's court.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Now, there again, the court there, and in Herod's temple, the women's court was the most outer court where everybody could go, but but women couldn't get any closer to God than that.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: The next court was called the men's court.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: That's where all the men could go.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: Then they had priestly courts, and you know, and less and less until they finally have just one, the high priest, they can get in.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: But on the outside, only the women, only the women uh could go there.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: And Jesus sat there when you weren't supposed to be teaching women, and Jesus sat there and he taught women in the women's court.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Think of that now.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Here's all these men, these Pharisees in dominion, and they're watching this man who some people are saying he's the Christ, he's the Savior, he's the Messiah.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: And here he is breaking all their traditions.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: And he's teaching women as if they count.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: He's treating women as if they're somebody.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: He's treating women as if he cares about them.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: There was a woman who had an infirmity for 18 years.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: The verse, the scripture says, when Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, when he saw her, this woman with the infirmity, he called her to him.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Do you know the significance of that?
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: See, I bet you didn't know this.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Women didn't go into the inside of the synagogue, they sat outside.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: See, I didn't realize that until I looked into this, did some study.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: I thought they just had a woman's side and a men's side.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: But the women, and many times they had to sit in place, they wanted to get as close as they could.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Some synagogues, it was just a bench outside the door where they sat.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Others, if they were really good to them, they might have an awning for the shade, but it but it was always on the outside.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Only in some synagogues could they actually hear what was being said.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Some of them were not even close enough where they could hear, or some could see and not hear because they were so far apart.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And so you see Jesus standing in the synagogue, and maybe standing in a place like I'm doing, and he's teaching, and he looks and he sees a woman out there who's bent over.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: And he's standing here teaching all these men while the women are out there because they can't get close.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: And he sees a woman and she's bowed over, and he says, and he calls her to him.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: He says, Come here.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Here's all these men.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: What?
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: You can't do that.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: You can't bring a woman in here.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: And of course, Jesus calls her in right in front of everybody, heals her, and he says, She's a daughter of Abraham.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: She ought to be well.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: Read the story.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: All the leaders of the church, the synagogue got mad at him, of course.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: He broke all their rules.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: He spoke with women.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Something you don't do.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: In fact, we see the story of the woman of the well.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: What did he do?
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Here, he I used to say he went out of his way to talk to her.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: In a sense, he did, but what he did was he stayed on the road.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Everybody else went out of their way to avoid Samaritans.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: All the other Jews?
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: From Galilee to Jerusalem.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: It could have been a straight road through Samaria, but they always took the long way because they didn't want anything to do with those people.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: So Jesus, uh, on purpose, he took the straight road, we walked right through Samaria on purpose and found a woman sitting at the well and starts talking to her, and she says, Why are you talking to me?
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: You guys don't have anything to do with us.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: For one thing, you're a Jew or a Samaritan.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: You don't have anything to do with us.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: He said, Jesus treated the Samaritans just the same.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: Not only that, but she's a Samaritan woman.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: And he sat down and he gave her time.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: When somebody's when when when When you see somebody, you give them time, you affirm them, you acknowledge them.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: Jesus did every bit of that.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: And he talked with her.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: And we know the story that she she gets up and runs into town.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: She says, Come see a man that knows me, knows everything about me.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: He was friends with women.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: When you're not supposed to have those types of relationships, he was very, very, very, very good friends.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Some might even say best friends with Mary and Martha, as well as their brother Lazarus.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: He touched women.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: When they were unclean, even.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: You don't touch women.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Women are sinful just by virtue of being a woman.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: He allowed touching, such as the woman who came and washed his feet, and they're like.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: He's driving these people crazy, and all he's doing is doing what the Father does.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: He's honoring people that God honors and God loves.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: He defended women, even one caught in adultery.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: He defended her while they were all about the morality, and she was caught in this act, and not only that, but she's a woman and she needs to be treated like that.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: And when they look at her, they don't even see her as anything important.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: She's not, they don't honor her as even as human.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: She's a problem.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: She's a spot on their on their society.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: She needs to be gotten rid of.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: She needs to go.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: She needs to be killed and forgotten and out of the way.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Based on their idea of morality and her worth as a person.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: And Jesus did what he always does even today, is he looks at the person.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: That's a good lesson for us today.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: That a lot of times we Christians, we try, we a lot of times we make it an issue of morality over the people, and God always makes it more about the people than your issue of morality.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: People are his treasure, not the rule keeping.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: He defended the woman with the issue of blood.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: The woman who was bent over for 18 years.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: He told stories about women.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: There was a certain woman honoring them all the time.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: And what did he say, even about the one who came and touched him when that's not even allowed?
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: And what's he say?
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: He says, What this woman has done will be preached throughout all the land as a testimony to her.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Here she was looked down upon.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: She's already looked down upon because she's a woman, but now she's a woman who's done all these things.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: And he says, this will be told as a testimony to her.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: When we hear that story, yes, we see the grace of God in that, but don't we really love that woman?
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: Don't we really honor that woman for what she did?
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: Don't we want to be like that woman?
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: He told stories, he taught women, he educated women, which was against the rule.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: He opposed wife dumping.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: Here's a little, just a little Bible lesson for you.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: Jesus said, Moses allowed you to have a to to to give a writ of divorcement because of the hardness of your hearts.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: But I say unto you, whosoever puts away his wife shall be guilty.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: And what's he saying?
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: See, what we what a lot of people don't know is that putting away your wife and divorcing were two different things.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Because with divorce, there was a legal thing and there was still a sense of responsibility there.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: So a lot of times men, they just quit doing it.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: They quit giving a writ of divorce.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: And they just started dumping their wives and just putting them out there.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: Now they've got nobody.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: Because they're not even like real people.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: They don't own property, they don't have anything.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: They don't have a man now to be their provision.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: They just dumped them and they were not responsible for them anymore.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: That's why they didn't want to do the legal thing, and they just dumped them.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: And he said, All this is going on.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: You don't treat women like that.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: Opposed wife dumping.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: They were just, they were not honored, they were seen as property many times.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Problems, he discipled women, he commissioned women to go and tell the good news.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: He empowered women, and what Jesus did in his whole thing, where we stand today, is Jesus did to the ladies what he does for every single person, especially those who have been oppressed, is that he elevates them to honor.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: And today we elevate the ladies to their royal, rightful honor.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: We bow with you and say, you are a queen and you deserve to be treated as such.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: When I raised two little girls and these two princesses, and I thought I certainly wanted them to be treated like royalty.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: That if they would marry, that somebody would treat them like the queen, that I know that they are.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: When you read about those things, he would say, honor them.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: He would say, he would talk about Priscilla, honor her, for she is doing the same work I am.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: Well, we know Paul was an apostle.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: He was going around to different places, establishing churches.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: So was she.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: Why were they doing that?
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Look at the change that happens immediately, right after Jesus.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: Not only are they just no longer just servants, no longer are they dishonored, is that everything changes.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: And I'll show you something.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: Even the disciples in the early church here, they honored these women.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: They saw them as awesome.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: They were going out and they were doing the same things that the men were doing.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: You said, Well, when did that change?
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: That changed later on.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: A couple of hundred years later, in the era of what we call the church fathers, is that men started dominating again.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: A couple of hundred years after Jesus.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: Men started gaining dominion again.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: The church became patriarchal again.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: Women became subordinate again in the minds of men.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: But in the days of Jesus, or in the in the in the in the work of Jesus and in the days of his apostles after that, the women were in an honored place.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: What we're saying today is that, you know, Jesus said, How can you believe when you seek the honor that comes from men rather than the honor that comes from God?
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: That God is honoring us.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: And today we're focusing, today, God is honoring the ladies.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: And God says, You deserve the best.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: I love you.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: In fact, when I married Judy, here's what I believe I heard God say very, very clearly.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: I tell her this a lot.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: But when I decided that I wanted to marry her, I heard the Lord say, Be good to her, treat her well.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: She is precious to me.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: And I remember that so often.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: God loves the lady.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: God honors the girl.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: It's important to him.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: He, our Heavenly Father, Daddy, loves his little girls today.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: We honor you.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Jesus elevates all.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Women are not inferior, neither are foreigners.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Catholics, Protestants, Democrats, Republicans, divorced people, old people, young people, black people, yellow people, brown people, and single parents.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: The world might dismiss some people as weaker and inferior, but God's grace flows to all of us who may be flawed and broken people, but God honors and God gives us grace.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Jesus elevates all.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: Ladies, today this one is for you.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: We honor you.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: I am so glad God created woman.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: We think you're wonderful, you're beautiful, that you're to be honored, and we hope that as our as your sons, as your husbands, as your fathers, as the men in your lives, we want you to feel like the princess and the queen that God made you to be all the days of your life.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: God bless you.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: You can stand up.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: I'm going to pray, Father, right now I thank you for the grace.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: That everyone, every person here feels the elevation and honor for you, from you, to know that you've restored us to where you intended in the beginning.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: And with that grace where you've made us all royalty, let us rule and reign with love and with a gentle and powerful heart.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: May every one of us see as we honor the ladies that you've put in our lives.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: I pray that we all see and know how to give greater honor.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: As you call it, double honor.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: You said, give honor to them as unto the weaker, and you said that we give to that one more honor.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: Let everyone hear.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: Let them walk with the joy that there is one that knows them.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: And that's the witness that we live by.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: We thank you for a perfect love that elevates every one of us to our rightful place with you.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: Let there be joy.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: Let there be love in Jesus' name.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: Happy Mother's Day, guys.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: Have a great day.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
