- 3:32In local news.
- 3:34Mark Wahlberg, renowned for his acting career, is expanding his footprint in the fitness
- 3:39industry by opening two new, F45 training studios in the Boston area.
- 3:46The first gym is already welcoming fitness enthusiasts on Summer Street, while the second
- 3:51is slated to open in the North End later this year.
- 3:55Wahlberg, a Boston native, views this venture as an opportunity to positively impact the
- 4:01lives of locals.
- 4:03He's committed to visiting the gyms whenever he's in town, aiming to connect with a community
- 4:08that's close to his heart.
- 4:16Now onto sports.
- 4:18At the Super Bowl, Reba McEntire's performance of the national anthem caused quite a stir
- 4:23in the betting world.
- 4:25She unexpectedly repeated, the brave, and extended the anthem beyond the anticipated
- 4:3190.5 seconds.
- 4:34This extra phrase sparked debate among bettors and bookmakers.
- 4:38Draft and GM initially favoring the under, ended up compensating both over and under
- 4:43bettors.
- 4:44Meanwhile, Draft Kings and FanDuel were divided.
- 4:48Draft Kings initially supported the under, while FanDuel leaned towards the over.
- 4:54Legal betting on the anthem's duration was only available in Ontario, but US bettors
- 4:59still participated through offshore platforms.
- 5:03This incident echoed a similar situation in 2019 with Gladys Knight's performance.
- 5:09Personally, I'm divided on the whole ordeal, but I will say, you cannot add extra words
- 5:15to the national anthem.
- 5:18Now onto the NBA.
- 5:20Tonight, the Celtics are on the road to take on the Nets, and the Bruins are at home playing
- 5:26the lightning.
- 5:30And top news, recent research reveals a significant overdiagnosis of melanoma in the US.
- 5:37Recent concerns about the implications of unnecessary cancer diagnoses.
- 5:43Over 80,000 Americans annually are told they have melanoma, a six-fold increase from 40
- 5:50years ago.
- 5:51However, this rise is attributed more to overdiagnosis than to environmental risks or detection improvements.
- 5:59The study focusing on white individuals more prone to melanoma found 65% of white women
- 6:06and 50% of white men are overdiagnosed.
- 6:10The majority of these cases involve stage zero cancers, which are unlikely to cause
- 6:15health problems.
- 6:18Overdiagnosis can lead to unnecessary treatments and long-term psychological impacts.
- 6:23Efforts suggest a need for better standards in diagnosing melanoma and caution against
- 6:29routine full-body checks without symptoms.
- 6:34In market news, in a significant crypto development, Bitcoin surpassed $50,000 for the first time
- 6:42since December 2021, triggering a rally in crypto-related stocks and funds.
- 6:49This surge is partly due to robust demand for new spot Bitcoin ETFs.
- 6:54Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, has experienced a 13% rise in the past week and an 11% increase
- 7:02this year, building on a 150% gain in 2023.
- 7:08Despite this, it's still about 28% below its peak from November 2021.
- 7:15Seeing spot Bitcoin ETFs like Grayscale Bitcoin Trust and BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust
- 7:22saw gains around 5.6%, while Bitcoin futures like ProShares Bitcoin Strategy also climbed.
- 7:31Shares in Coinbase and MicroStrategy rose significantly, reflecting broader market optimism.
- 7:38Experts attribute the rally to increased spot market demand, and some investors viewing
- 7:42Bitcoin as a safe haven amid global uncertainties.
- 7:47However, its price volatility remains a concern.
- 7:52Future predictions are optimistic, with expectations of Bitcoin reaching up to $160,000 by end
- 7:59of 2024 and potentially $350,000 by mid-2025.
- 8:07Bitcoin is currently just under $50,000, Ethereum is about $2,600, and Solana is $113.

- 9:08Let's talk tech.
- 9:11In a significant move, Google has rebranded its AI offerings under a single name Gemini.
- 9:18This change sees the previous barred chatbot and duet AI features integrated into Google
- 9:23Workspace all unified as Gemini.
- 9:27Notably, Google has also launched Gemini Ultra 1.0, a more advanced version of its language
- 9:35model.
- 9:36Gemini, blending the roles of an assistant, chatbot, and search engine, is now accessible
- 9:42via dedicated Android app, replacing Google Assistant in some functions.
- 9:47However, there's no iOS app yet.
- 9:50iPhone users can access Gemini through the Google app.
- 9:54Gemini's introduction marks a shift in Google's focus, indicating a strong commitment to AI
- 10:01as it competes with other leading AI developers.
- 10:05For enhanced features, users can subscribe to Gemini Advanced, part of Google's $20
- 10:11per month Google One AI Premium plan, which also includes 2 terabytes of Google Drive
- 10:17storage.
- 10:18And in entertainment news, Gloria Gaynor, I Will Survive, a new documentary by Betsy
- 10:28Schechter, explores the life of disco icon Gloria Gaynor.
- 10:34The film, getting a one-night theatrical release, dows into Gaynor's journey as she transitions
- 10:39from her 70s disco fame to a gospel artist.
- 10:44It reveals her struggles with personal and professional adversity, transforming her hit
- 10:49I Will Survive into a broader anthem of empowerment.
- 10:54The documentary also touches on Gaynor's past challenges, including her relationship
- 10:58with ex-husband Linwood Simon and a persistent spinal injury.
- 11:04While focusing on her gospel career and the making of her Grammy-winning album Testimony,
- 11:10the film has been critiqued for its intimate approach, lacking broader industry perspectives.
- 11:16However, it celebrates Gaynor's resilience and musical legacy, underscoring her impact
- 11:22on the disco genre and her personal growth.
- 11:25Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day.
- 11:31And today, our quote comes from the author, William W. Perkey.
- 11:35You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like
- 11:45there's nobody listening, and live like it's heaven on earth.
- 11:51And that's a wrap for this morning.
- 11:54Remember to stay tuned tomorrow for more news and updates.
- 11:57Have an amazing day, my good friends.
