- 2:11Dan Schulz: You're not necessarily getting polished, finished material.
- 2:14Dan Schulz: You're watching people test stuff, which means some jokes will land and some probably won't.
- 2:21Dan Schulz: Either way, it's free to attend.
- 2:23Dan Schulz: Show up, grab a seat, and give somebody brave enough to get on stage a little support.

- 5:00Dan Schulz: I didn't want you to think I was stupid.
- 5:02Dan Schulz: I don't know what Leonbergers are.
- 5:05Dan Schulz: I'm gonna look them up during your next story.
- 5:08Dan Schulz: You don't need to be a member to watch a bunch of these enormous dogs hang out together.

- 6:19Dan Schulz: You know when you hear the saying that dogs, you know, man's best friend?
- 6:23Jennifer Davis: Ja
- 6:23Dan Schulz: talking about Leonberger.
- 6:25Dan Schulz: You look this dog up, you're gonna fall in love with this big goofball
- 6:30Jennifer Davis: Oh my gosh, it sounds fun.
- 6:32Jennifer Davis: Let me look it up
- 6:34Dan Schulz: Bicycle bling.
- 6:35Dan Schulz: It's never too late to learn.
- 6:38Dan Schulz: Think you missed your chance to learn how to ride a bike?
- 6:40Dan Schulz: Nope.

- 7:05Dan Schulz: The October 3rd class is currently full, but there's a waitlist, so if learning to ride has somehow remained on your list of things to do and you never got around to it, this might be your sign
- 7:17Jennifer Davis: And yes, I looked up...
- 7:18Jennifer Davis: I was typing in Leonberger, and Leonberger puppies popped up, and they are so floofy
- 7:23Dan Schulz: They're big
- 7:24Jennifer Davis: They're big and cute.
- 7:26Dan Schulz: A lot of people put off calling about a leak because they're scared of what it's gonna cost.
- 7:31Dan Schulz: We ask Lincoln Spencer from Simply Leak Detection about that.
- 7:35Lincoln Spencer: No matter what, it's gonna cost some money to fix this issue, but the fee that you pay us is well worth it just to at least be informed in your options.
- 7:44Lincoln Spencer: Because you might find that based on the information from us, it makes a lot of sense to do a repair, and that saves you a lot of money compared to replacing the whole line.
- 7:53Lincoln Spencer: So in that case, you're still money well spent versus 10,000 plus or whatever that's gonna be to replace the line.
- 8:00Lincoln Spencer: In other cases, you might find out that it's actually the better decision to replace the line based on what we find.
- 8:08Lincoln Spencer: But either way, we're giving the homeowner more information, and then they can make that next decision that's right for them based on their budget, the age of the line, the age of the home, things like that.
- 8:18Jennifer Davis: Find out what you're dealing with before you spend a dime fixing it.
- 8:22Jennifer Davis: Call 253-800-1412 or go to simplyleakdetection.com and tell them The Best of Redmond sent ya.
- 8:33Jennifer Davis: Okay, it's time for the Redmond History Minute, where we share an interesting piece of history, trivia, or tidbit about life in and around Redmond.
- 8:43Dan Schulz: If this question is about Leonbergers, I'm gonna just
- 8:47Jennifer Davis: know everything.
- 8:49Jennifer Davis: It's not, unfortunately, but it's, it's a fun question regardless.
- 8:54Jennifer Davis: So the question is: where was Redmond's first movie theater?
- 8:59Jennifer Davis: Was it A, inside a train station; B, in Redmond Hall; C, above the Redmond State Bank; or D, inside a general store?
- 9:11Jennifer Davis: And your time starts now
- 9:15Dan Schulz: I have, this is one that I have no clue about.
- 9:18Dan Schulz: I don't know what year this happened, but you know what I'm getting the vibe?
- 9:23Dan Schulz: I'm getting like, uh, when did The Waltons take place?
- 9:26Dan Schulz: That was like during the Great Depression, right?
- 9:28Jennifer Davis: I never watched The Wal-- They, you're, you're going too, too far back for,
- 9:32Dan Schulz: Yeah, no, I, I agree with you too, Jennifer.
- 9:35Dan Schulz: I, I didn't watch it either.
- 9:36Dan Schulz: I was, I was too young.
- 9:37Dan Schulz: Ugh.
- 9:39Dan Schulz: It seems like a move that would happen inside the Walton's Mountain General Store, so that's what I think my final answer is
- 9:46Jennifer Davis: All right.
- 9:47Jennifer Davis: Well, you're incorrect
- 9:50Dan Schulz: Ah, The Waltons.
- 9:51Dan Schulz: Stupid show.
- 9:52Dan Schulz: Why did I waste my young years watching it and not learning anything?
- 9:57Jennifer Davis: The answer is actually B, in Redmond Hall.
- 10:00Jennifer Davis: In 1919, Lou C.
- 10:03Jennifer Davis: Brown, that's Lou C.
- 10:06Dan Schulz: Lucy Brown
- 10:08Jennifer Davis: no, not Lucy.
- 10:10Jennifer Davis: Lou C.
- 10:10Jennifer Davis: Brown leased Redmond Hall and opened the Dream Theater.
- 10:15Jennifer Davis: The first moving picture shown there was The Girl From Outside.
- 10:20Jennifer Davis: So before Redmond had movie theaters with stadium seating, giant screens, and $18 popcorn, the town was watching movies in Redmond Hall
- 10:29Dan Schulz: I heard that Lucy married Charlie and that's how she got her name All right, that is it for this episode, but we want you to go over to our Facebook page at facebook.com/bestofredmond and find the post called Your
