- 0:01Speaker 1: Got you, and he is now dadging.
- 0:13Speaker 2: You.
- 0:20Speaker 3: No, I'm fine here now, we're good. We're fine here,
- 0:24Speaker 3: now good? How are you worse?
- 0:27Speaker 2: He got worse?
- 0:29Speaker 3: I'm glad I have two co hosts named Dexter. What's
- 0:35Speaker 3: going on? Everybody? I am the one, the only, the
- 0:39Speaker 3: w O Okay, I e joined here by my normal
- 0:42Speaker 3: casts of misfits. Actually we're missing a misfit. Felix isn't here. Yeah,
- 0:47Speaker 3: sometimes my heart grows weary. But we have the kid
- 0:52Speaker 3: who knows. Yeah, it's just gone. I don't have a
- 0:54Speaker 3: heart anymore. But we have the kid who knows more
- 0:57Speaker 3: than you, mister Cole, Robbie, hey, yop, and that kid
- 1:02Speaker 3: that's going to school to know more than you.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Dexter, I loo everybody. I don't know much yet, but
- 1:10Speaker 1: hopefully I can learn somethings.
- 1:11Speaker 3: So it's time for the unreasonable Question of the day.
- 1:16Speaker 3: And you know what, this is a very tough one.
- 1:19Speaker 3: And now that I think about it, because I had
- 1:20Speaker 3: my question, I'll set and ready to go. And then
- 1:24Speaker 3: I remember Cole's vegan, so he can he can't maybe
- 1:31Speaker 3: eat many of these because I don't think there's a
- 1:35Speaker 3: vegan girl Scout cookie there is thin Min's. Are thin
- 1:39Speaker 3: Min's vegan?
- 1:41Speaker 2: They are?
- 1:42Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:42Speaker 3: Okay, well what is?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Well?
- 1:44Speaker 3: Okay? What is? It's back to school season, which means
- 1:48Speaker 3: girl Scout cookies are coming back around, and we all
- 1:52Speaker 3: know the best Girl Scout cookies are samoans or caramel Delights,
- 1:57Speaker 3: whatever one is in your area. But boys, what are
- 2:01Speaker 3: your favorites girl Scout cookies?
- 2:05Speaker 2: This is when next Star says, I've never had a
- 2:07Speaker 2: girl I've.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Had thin mints. I've had plenty of thin mints.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Know how do I get those?
- 2:16Speaker 1: I think thin mints might be the only one that
- 2:19Speaker 1: I've had.
- 2:19Speaker 3: You've never had another Girl Scout cookies? Okay, you've never
- 2:28Speaker 3: had I'm pretty that's the favor I've never had a
- 2:32Speaker 3: caramel had limon. You've never had the peanut butter sandwiches. Okay,
- 2:37Speaker 3: you've had the lemon ups.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Nope, haven't. Haven't had any of the other ones that
- 2:43Speaker 1: you named though?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Are you were you homeschooled?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yes?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Oh until fifth grade?
- 2:52Speaker 3: Then you went out into the world.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Kind of man?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Did Was there an Aladdin song singing when you went out? No?
- 3:04Speaker 1: No, because I never really went out into the world
- 3:07Speaker 1: like I went to school. But that was pretty much.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It didn't go out into the world. Now I'm kind
- 3:14Speaker 1: of there now since I'm at college and I have
- 3:16Speaker 1: my own car, but I don't really do anything outside
- 3:18Speaker 1: of college.
- 3:19Speaker 3: And now you just go wild.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Or not.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I don't. Yeah, talking is tough, I get it. But cale,
- 3:31Speaker 3: what are your favorite Girl Scout cookies? Are cookies thin mints?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Of course?
- 3:37Speaker 3: Yeah? Is that the only one that's vegan?
- 3:40Speaker 2: So uh, it is a very interesting little thing. So
- 3:46Speaker 2: fun fact, there are actually two different bakeries that make
- 3:51Speaker 2: that make Girl Scout cookies. There's I think ABC Bakeries.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I'm looking at it right now. ABC Bakers and Little Bakers.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, so thin mints are basically always safe, but ABC
- 4:07Speaker 2: Bakers have a couple other flavors that are safe. It's
- 4:14Speaker 2: just been far too long since I've had another kind.
- 4:18Speaker 2: But in general, since you can find them pretty easily.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Actually no, I guess samoas are different for Girl Scout cookies,
- 4:28Speaker 2: but I like fudge stripe cookies.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I do like well, depending on where you are, they
- 4:31Speaker 3: could be caramel delights, they could be smallest, right, I
- 4:35Speaker 3: guess maybe that depends on which bakery you get them from.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I don't know. Now, see now you've got my wheels
- 4:44Speaker 3: a turning. I think we're going to turn this segment
- 4:46Speaker 3: into Cole's Cole's Vegan Tip of the Tip of the week,
- 4:52Speaker 3: because like I'm like, oh, because like I got a
- 4:55Speaker 3: list of these right and then like now like going
- 4:58Speaker 3: through my head, I'm like, I don't know if Cole
- 5:01Speaker 3: has had these, because he is vegan, lots to think about.
- 5:08Speaker 2: It's interesting, Yep, you learn, you'll learn something new every week.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yeah, so join us next week for Cole's Vegan Tip
- 5:18Speaker 3: of the day or week, because he's really only given
- 5:21Speaker 3: one a week. I don't know. Maybe he'll start a
- 5:25Speaker 3: TikTok where he'll give you a tip of the day,
- 5:28Speaker 3: the altered corner tip of the day with you know,
- 5:30Speaker 3: vegan tip of the day.
- 5:32Speaker 2: There you go in line with Muna.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yeap, very we got things to do right. Cole had
- 5:44Speaker 3: posed a very interesting question to all of us as
- 5:51Speaker 3: to you know what, Cole, I'm gonna watch you. I'm
- 5:54Speaker 3: gonna let you reveal your question that you gave to
- 5:57Speaker 3: us this week. Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So it it's something that we have done ahead of
- 6:03Speaker 2: every set I think, which I guess technically is just
- 6:07Speaker 2: trial by Frost and whispers from the Maze. But I
- 6:11Speaker 2: think that the reveal article like schedule of Reveal season,
- 6:17Speaker 2: will go live sometime next week, So this is perfect
- 6:23Speaker 2: time to talk about wishes for Skybound Odyssey before we
- 6:29Speaker 2: start getting heavy into spoiler season. If you're listening to
- 6:35Speaker 2: this on Patreon on Tuesday, you may or may not
- 6:40Speaker 2: have seen the article. If you're listening to it on
- 6:43Speaker 2: full release on Friday, I'm guessing the article will be
- 6:49Speaker 2: out by then, but that's just legitimately speculation on my part.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I don't know for sure. So we are going to
- 6:59Speaker 2: talk about what each of us wishes to see in
- 7:03Speaker 2: sky Bound Odyssey, and if not in sky maybe it'll
- 7:09Speaker 2: come later. Maybe it never will. I guess we'll find
- 7:12Speaker 2: out if any of us remember what we said, which
- 7:16Speaker 2: I don't remember the last two things I said, so.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I remember, I think last the last side of the
- 7:22Speaker 3: step before, I wished for more dark themes, which I
- 7:26Speaker 3: guess the Hunger kind of counts.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I would.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Say, yeah, yes, that kind of counts.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say the Lore four altered. If you
- 7:38Speaker 2: read through it is a lot like darker and sad.
- 7:42Speaker 3: The more you have me read it, it's like, Man,
- 7:44Speaker 3: this stuff's kind of dark, but I don't know if
- 7:46Speaker 3: the style really lends itself to like that kind of dark. Uh,
- 7:53Speaker 3: you know, the darkness. I was looking for a word there,
- 7:58Speaker 3: but I ges it's at the tip of my top
- 8:00Speaker 3: and I don't have it. That forty K what do
- 8:02Speaker 3: they call that in forty K? Grim dark? Yeah, grim dark,
- 8:06Speaker 3: that's what it is.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they have more of a family friendly approach for
- 8:12Speaker 2: the most part to all of the art. This is
- 8:16Speaker 2: not Grand Archive by any means.
- 8:19Speaker 3: So yeah, oh well grand Archive ufta. I think they
- 8:25Speaker 3: only sell that at special stores if you can't chain
- 8:29Speaker 3: the rift.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it was actually I believe one of Register's like
- 8:35Speaker 2: goals and requirements for the game is to they in
- 8:40Speaker 2: that kind of realm. But I mean there's there's been
- 8:44Speaker 2: there's been some spicy characters. The law is definitely deep
- 8:49Speaker 2: and dark and sad in a lot of places. So
- 8:54Speaker 2: I have no idea what can happen law wise in
- 8:58Speaker 2: the next set. Even though we're going into the sky,
- 9:02Speaker 2: doesn't mean that there won't be some weird and or
- 9:06Speaker 2: creepy stuff. And I mean there's still you know, parasites
- 9:10Speaker 2: invading all of the factions. Whatever, happens to the hunger.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Either we defeat the hunger or we find a way
- 9:18Speaker 2: to appease it. There will there will always be something
- 9:22Speaker 2: lurking in the shadows.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I'm looking at the list. We don't have Felix here, because, yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 3: he would be the first one I'm going to because
- 9:32Speaker 3: his is a new landmark that punches the opponent. I
- 9:36Speaker 3: don't know if he means that literally or figuratively.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Those are just my examples I find. Then I was
- 9:43Speaker 2: typing up the structure you.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Talked for Felix, Okay, I mean because I could totally
- 9:48Speaker 3: see him saying effect.
- 9:49Speaker 1: He said that before, Yeah, said that before.
- 9:52Speaker 3: That's legit. Like are we punching people now at the
- 9:55Speaker 3: card tape? Just table flip?
- 9:57Speaker 1: I want to do some of that. Yeah, you know
- 10:00Speaker 1: how we have like chess boxing, Let's do some altered boxing.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I brought that up more than boxing, Oh my god.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Where you play chess and then you box, and then
- 10:10Speaker 1: you play chess and then you play box. I think
- 10:12Speaker 1: it's like two minute rounds and you just rotate between
- 10:14Speaker 1: the two and then if you either get knocked out
- 10:17Speaker 1: or knocked down, or you lose the chess game, then
- 10:20Speaker 1: you lose. It was just combining the two sports.
- 10:25Speaker 3: That's great, terrible, and it's entertaining it all.
- 10:31Speaker 2: It actually is because the people are usually like not
- 10:38Speaker 2: necessarily grand masters or like super professional boxing.
- 10:42Speaker 1: But they're normally like two thousand plus EL rated and
- 10:46Speaker 1: they have some experience boxing.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Yep, they're like above amateur at both.
- 10:53Speaker 3: So it's really yes, got it? Got it? Uh, You're
- 10:59Speaker 3: example for dex then made me laugh a lot because
- 11:02Speaker 3: the example you put for dexter more to Man of Cards.
- 11:05Speaker 3: That's great. Yep, that sounds like a.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And I left it because I like small stuff.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you like to play the small game, which
- 11:13Speaker 3: in a game where resources are limited, right, like you
- 11:17Speaker 3: got to make every every one of those Man of
- 11:19Speaker 3: Orbs count. Has anybody has anybody shifted to how they
- 11:24Speaker 3: were playing at uh at Quake Con with the man
- 11:28Speaker 3: of Orbs? Have either of you guys shifted to that
- 11:30Speaker 3: style where you kind of like, I guess maybe you
- 11:33Speaker 3: put them on. I saw putting under the pile and
- 11:36Speaker 3: using the Man of Orbs as manna.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I I haven't done that, no, I know. More more
- 11:43Speaker 2: and more.
- 11:43Speaker 1: People have noticed more and more people doing that just
- 11:46Speaker 1: out here. Look at what cards they've already manted, and
- 11:50Speaker 1: keep track of which cards are in man and which
- 11:53Speaker 1: cards are whatever.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Here's what I want to do to start throwing people off.
- 11:57Speaker 3: You know Dragon Shield has that you can make custom
- 12:00Speaker 3: custom sleeves. Yeah, I'm gonna make sleeves that are man
- 12:05Speaker 3: at orbs.
- 12:09Speaker 2: They already sell those though.
- 12:11Speaker 1: They already like like the actual card, Like, I want
- 12:17Speaker 1: the card.
- 12:18Speaker 3: I don't want just the art.
- 12:19Speaker 1: You want the man channeling or.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Yeah, the actual Manic Convergence card. That's that's what I
- 12:27Speaker 3: want to put on the back of a see.
- 12:32Speaker 2: If you can mix yourself.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Up to Yeah? See are you not allowed to look
- 12:37Speaker 3: at everybody? I guess I was always under the assumption
- 12:41Speaker 3: I was allowed to look at whatever cards I manned
- 12:43Speaker 3: at any specific time. Am I not allowed to? Y?
- 12:47Speaker 3: Oh you can.
- 12:48Speaker 1: You're allowed to look at what you've manted.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Okay. I was just wondering if what your.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Opponent's manned, but you can look at your own.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Oh I'm not allowed to this much I knew. But
- 12:57Speaker 3: if you're gonna be like, you can look at what
- 12:59Speaker 3: your opponent man at, it like what.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That would be interesting?
- 13:07Speaker 3: That would be interesting.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I'm almost thinking other than disrupting your opponents with tomfoolery
- 13:17Speaker 2: and penguins, but what are wookies wishes?
- 13:22Speaker 3: So I normally like to go, especially in this game.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I'm not huge into the art and Q Forge it's
- 13:27Speaker 3: getting a little wacky and wonky for me over there,
- 13:30Speaker 3: almost like AI generated type stuff. I do like the
- 13:33Speaker 3: art in this game, it's a little more technical, a
- 13:35Speaker 3: little more thematic. I guess you could say, right, you know,
- 13:43Speaker 3: as always make Lyra great again, right, which maybe we're
- 13:48Speaker 3: getting this set, maybe we're not, who knows, you know,
- 13:50Speaker 3: we'll have to wait and see. I'm gonna make those hats.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I swear I'm gonna make those hats and start selling them,
- 13:58Speaker 3: and it'll be on pink with white white lettering. But
- 14:02Speaker 3: you put more penguins, and I'm down for more penguins.
- 14:07Speaker 3: But I you know, I had this conversation with my
- 14:11Speaker 3: wife not too long ago because I like other birds too, right,
- 14:17Speaker 3: So like, I'm I like penguins, and we I kind
- 14:20Speaker 3: of came to the conclusion that I like birds, and
- 14:23Speaker 3: but I'm like, but I really don't like birds, and
- 14:24Speaker 3: she's like, but you like birds, and I'm like, Okay,
- 14:26Speaker 3: I guess I do. Because I also like flamingos. I
- 14:30Speaker 3: don't believe we have any flamingos and altered yet.
- 14:38Speaker 2: No, not in cards at least.
- 14:40Speaker 3: None come to mind, right, No, like no flamingos in cards, right,
- 14:45Speaker 3: A big fan of flamingos.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Zephyr is kind of close, though.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Close not quite where where, you know. I would also
- 14:54Speaker 3: like a sheep so I could finally get my friend
- 14:58Speaker 3: doctor Sheep into this game. If they come out out
- 15:00Speaker 3: with his sheep, he'll come over. I'm telling you right now,
- 15:03Speaker 3: he will, and then we can listen to ram doesn't count,
- 15:06Speaker 3: you know, I asked, and he asked me if e
- 15:09Speaker 3: woks count as wookies and I said no, and he's like,
- 15:12Speaker 3: there you go. So owls I like owls, right, So
- 15:19Speaker 3: I think we have a couple owls memories. You know,
- 15:24Speaker 3: they might not be characters though, it might just be
- 15:27Speaker 3: in cards. Because like, there's that dude on dude on
- 15:30Speaker 3: cloth cocoon, which I'm pretty sure is a raccoon because
- 15:33Speaker 3: I like raccoons as well. Is there a raccoon? There
- 15:37Speaker 3: might be?
- 15:38Speaker 2: And has tanuki doesn't it?
- 15:41Speaker 3: Yeah, he's kind of a raccoon ish raccoon. Is that Tanuki?
- 15:45Speaker 3: It looks more raccoonish.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's Tanuki on the cloth cocoon. And then who
- 15:53Speaker 2: else is on this? What's really interesting about this about
- 15:58Speaker 2: all of the art is there are are characters like
- 16:02Speaker 2: in cards from set one that show up later, and
- 16:06Speaker 2: now that I'm looking closer at cloth Cocoon, I'm pretty
- 16:10Speaker 2: sure Yetti was on it the whole time. The other
- 16:16Speaker 2: one is the like bird thing from Off You Go.
- 16:20Speaker 2: And then yeah, I forgot what they're called.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I thought I was a rabbit.
- 16:31Speaker 2: It's a well, it's both. Yeah, it's like a flying rabbit.
- 16:36Speaker 2: There's a specific name for them, but I forgot what
- 16:38Speaker 2: they're called. Is it the Martin Gale? Is that what
- 16:41Speaker 2: it is?
- 16:44Speaker 3: Martin Gale?
- 16:45Speaker 2: Oh?
- 16:45Speaker 3: The bird for Martine?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think it is. Yeah, yeah, the
- 16:52Speaker 1: bird rabbit thing.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't remember. Does it should say it in
- 16:56Speaker 2: the Lord? Right, let's see, uh uh winged Martin with
- 17:02Speaker 2: long ears depicted as a winged mark. The Martin Gill
- 17:06Speaker 2: is the is the bird the really? Yeah?
- 17:11Speaker 3: Oh I just thought Martin Gill was the person.
- 17:14Speaker 2: No, yeah, it is Martin Gill.
- 17:19Speaker 3: And then I would actually like the very rare black flamingo.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I want I want, uh, what's his name from from
- 17:28Speaker 3: sleep Token? Jerry the Black Flamingo. You can actually that
- 17:34Speaker 3: would fit right in Yeah, that would fit right into
- 17:38Speaker 3: the door.
- 17:39Speaker 2: I'll just uh pretend like I don't know what you're saying.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Do you not know what I'm saying? Or do you
- 17:45Speaker 3: know exactly what I'm saying.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I have no idea what you're saying.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I have no idea what you're saying. But for a
- 17:51Speaker 2: very specific reason.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Oh okay, fair enough, So.
- 17:56Speaker 2: The reason being I hate sleep Token.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Well whatever that's on you. You know, if you hate
- 18:02Speaker 3: good music, that's fine. But mechanically, what do I want
- 18:08Speaker 3: to see? Because I'm trying to think of, like where
- 18:11Speaker 3: where can we push this game? Right, because like it's
- 18:15Speaker 3: already a relatively speedy game, right, Like there's not a
- 18:19Speaker 3: lot of not a lot of it's not a long game.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I guess it's what you know, it's it's relevant.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Mean unless you're playing against Asadi, Saka, Rubaru, Energy Bar
- 18:34Speaker 1: Stall deck.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Right but that but then those games ad like I
- 18:39Speaker 3: I don't even know if those games take longer than
- 18:41Speaker 3: a normal game because like normally it's like, yes, it's
- 18:44Speaker 3: stall stall, Stallstall Stall, but then they end very quickly, right,
- 18:49Speaker 3: like the the end comes and it's just over right, Man,
- 18:57Speaker 3: where can we go with this game mechanically? So number one,
- 19:00Speaker 3: I would like a and this isn't in the set,
- 19:04Speaker 3: but I would like saw. I know there's already fan
- 19:07Speaker 3: driven ones out there. I would like to see Equinox
- 19:11Speaker 3: put some time and effort into a multiplayer four person format, right.
- 19:17Speaker 3: I feel like that is the new standard for card games,
- 19:23Speaker 3: is to have this like very fun, casual format where
- 19:29Speaker 3: you know, it can be one you know, one player
- 19:32Speaker 3: kind of pulls ahead and then the other players all
- 19:35Speaker 3: stop try to stop them. I don't know how you
- 19:39Speaker 3: do that in this game, it'd be very difficult, but
- 19:41Speaker 3: just some sort of multiplayer format where you know, you're
- 19:47Speaker 3: I know what it's the ECT what it was, the
- 19:49Speaker 3: multiplayer one where you're kind of in this weird like actual.
- 19:53Speaker 1: If you're all yeah, means that's just a new mechanic.
- 20:03Speaker 3: I don't know where to push this cards like, I don't.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I don't know where to push this except for forming like,
- 20:11Speaker 3: I mean, we're getting new heroes. That was one thing
- 20:14Speaker 3: I did kind of want to see, so but we
- 20:16Speaker 3: already know we're getting new heroes. So it's like, you know,
- 20:19Speaker 3: all right, cool, and I would want to say, like
- 20:25Speaker 3: a new adventure track. I know we'll get new art,
- 20:29Speaker 3: but like.
- 20:32Speaker 1: New terrains.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Me maybe not new terrains, but like new terrains on
- 20:39Speaker 3: the cards right that way, it's not like on tracks
- 20:43Speaker 3: all the time.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I'm not following.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Okay, So you got what you have? One that's all three?
- 20:51Speaker 3: You know, the two starters are all three, right, and
- 20:54Speaker 3: then you move in right, and then what do you have.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Either two or one of something? Because there's three different
- 21:03Speaker 1: cards in the middle. There's one with grass, one with water,
- 21:06Speaker 1: one with earth, and then the other combinations of two
- 21:08Speaker 1: of them.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Right, so switch up those combinations.
- 21:13Speaker 1: It can't be what do you mean?
- 21:15Speaker 3: Why what do you mean? Why can't it be switched up?
- 21:18Speaker 1: Because like the one with a grass on one side
- 21:21Speaker 1: has earth and water on the other, the one with
- 21:23Speaker 1: earth on one side has grass and water on the other.
- 21:26Speaker 1: So unless you want to have one card that has
- 21:30Speaker 1: the same terrain on it multiple times, that wouldn't work.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah. The cards are very specific and not to be
- 21:38Speaker 2: mixed up.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I'm just trying to I very highly
- 21:43Speaker 1: doubt that they would change up the adventure track.
- 21:46Speaker 3: I'm trying to find a way to like live and
- 21:48Speaker 3: freshen it up, and they like the new mechanics that
- 21:51Speaker 3: are coming out kind of do that themselves. Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure there will be lots of if they
- 21:58Speaker 1: haven't revealed yet.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Either fresh, you know what I mean, like something fresh,
- 22:02Speaker 3: something new. I just don't like this game does a
- 22:06Speaker 3: good job like keeping my interest, so like I don't
- 22:14Speaker 3: really have good ideas, Like it's like, oh that's kind
- 22:16Speaker 3: of fun and neat, So I don't have I don't
- 22:20Speaker 3: have anything good. I just want more.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Is there any specific thing in Lyra that you want?
- 22:28Speaker 3: I just want to you know, I'm gonna say it again,
- 22:32Speaker 3: this is Cole, close your ears. I want alternate wind conditions,
- 22:39Speaker 3: more of them, welcome back hole.
- 22:46Speaker 1: That seems so hard to balance.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I know it always is, but it's just one of
- 22:52Speaker 3: those things that really gets me going. I want. I
- 22:59Speaker 3: love of alternate wing conditions. Cole, I know is like
- 23:04Speaker 3: he's in pain right now and that's okay, but like
- 23:08Speaker 3: that's just one of those things where and it doesn't
- 23:11Speaker 3: have to be in Lyra, Like you don't have to
- 23:13Speaker 3: just put it on Lyra. You can give every faction
- 23:15Speaker 3: its own like alternate wing condition. That would be a
- 23:18Speaker 3: terrible idea. Well maybe maybe like two sets out try
- 23:22Speaker 3: to balance it somehow, But yeah, I would like it.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Alternate wing conditions like are my jam. I would like
- 23:29Speaker 3: more because right now, what do you have? You have
- 23:31Speaker 3: one other alternate wing condition, right, Festival.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I think if you are technical about it, the factions
- 23:40Speaker 2: that have a version of an alternate wind condition are
- 23:45Speaker 2: or it is Yazmir, Lyra and Muna.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Because you have brand endeavor doesn't count.
- 23:51Speaker 2: It does though Grandon never in small step do you
- 23:54Speaker 2: count though they do not? Oh, all right, then I
- 23:58Speaker 2: guess it's only fat But.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Okay, well, yeah, it is only Festival because both of
- 24:02Speaker 3: those both those cards only help you win in the
- 24:05Speaker 3: traditional still win. You still win the same way, just
- 24:09Speaker 3: win by the normal, right, you'd still win by normal advancing.
- 24:14Speaker 3: You just don't know.
- 24:14Speaker 1: If you're not advancing by stats, but you're still advancing.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I don't know if you have seen the decks that
- 24:21Speaker 2: people make with those and it is not traditional winning
- 24:25Speaker 2: by any means.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I mean, you're still at You're still completing the general
- 24:31Speaker 3: task of the game, right, which is to meet It's a.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Different kind of gameplay for sure. Right, it's a different
- 24:38Speaker 1: game plan, but it's you're still winning.
- 24:42Speaker 3: When I say alternate win conditions, I'm saying, like, do
- 24:45Speaker 3: these things and you win on the spot.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, when you don't win on winning expeditions, to me,
- 24:53Speaker 2: that's an alternate win con and that's what both Small
- 24:56Speaker 2: Step and Grand Endevor do as well. But both of
- 25:02Speaker 2: them got kind of nerved. But it kind of meant.
- 25:06Speaker 1: That I.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Saw what you just wrote in there. The answer is no,
- 25:13Speaker 3: that is a terrible idea.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah. I could say two things that I never want.
- 25:22Speaker 3: One you want.
- 25:24Speaker 2: You already do it to yourself, which is fine, that's fine,
- 25:28Speaker 2: And I really don't ever want a smuggle mechanic, but
- 25:34Speaker 2: I will give the caveat that. The fact that there
- 25:37Speaker 2: is no smuggle mechanic by set four is at least
- 25:45Speaker 2: better than Star Wars. I'm pretty sure introduced it by
- 25:50Speaker 2: like the.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Second two or three.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I have just so much I understand what you mean
- 25:55Speaker 3: by smuggle mechanic. Can you want to explain to everyone
- 25:57Speaker 3: else out there what you mean by smuggling mechanic? Yeah?
- 26:01Speaker 2: So in Altered and Star Wars Unlimited and lor Kana,
- 26:07Speaker 2: maybe you.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Know I don't know if flor Kana has one, though.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Lor Kana has inking, but there's only a certain only
- 26:14Speaker 1: certain cards are allowed to be put into Manna. It's
- 26:18Speaker 1: the same mechanic of putting cards from your hand into
- 26:20Speaker 1: mana though.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Yep.
- 26:21Speaker 2: So it allows you to take a card that you
- 26:25Speaker 2: have resourced aka mannut or whatever and play it or
- 26:30Speaker 2: put it in your hand from.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Oh we are talking about two different smuggle mechanics.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a very I just don't think
- 26:41Speaker 2: it's a good mechanic. I think it gets confusing. It
- 26:47Speaker 2: allows for more fuck ups in like mixing up cards
- 26:52Speaker 2: and like more opportunity for people to be sketchy. And
- 26:57Speaker 2: I don't know, I just don't like it. I don't
- 26:58Speaker 2: like floating either, and I hope that Altered never.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Does that loading Mana yeah, and other games. I thought
- 27:06Speaker 1: you meant that you could float and altered No, like
- 27:09Speaker 1: you would pay Mana just probably a landmark. I think
- 27:13Speaker 1: it could be cool if you had like a landmarker,
- 27:16Speaker 1: a character gear or something that once you play it
- 27:20Speaker 1: it can you can like tap it to ready a
- 27:22Speaker 1: mana orb or something like that.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that would make more sense. And that
- 27:29Speaker 2: is a really interesting way I think to do it
- 27:32Speaker 2: and altered. But if it was a landmark that you
- 27:35Speaker 2: tapped and then it added a floating manna to your manipool,
- 27:39Speaker 2: I would hate that.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if you could add that to
- 27:42Speaker 3: altered because it's back and forth as opposed to like
- 27:44Speaker 3: you moving through phases.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's it's honestly probably my least favorite thing
- 27:50Speaker 2: about Riftbound so far.
- 27:53Speaker 1: The floating stuff, because it's hard to keep track of.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Yeah, is it like a back and forth though? Like
- 27:59Speaker 3: I take a turn, you take a turn. It's not
- 28:02Speaker 3: our turn where we're moving through the phases together until
- 28:05Speaker 3: we're both done, right. I haven't done anything with Riftbound,
- 28:08Speaker 3: so I don't wish about it.
- 28:09Speaker 1: It's it's kind of similar to magic. I guess you
- 28:13Speaker 1: could say, where you have like a main phase and
- 28:15Speaker 1: then your opponent gets chances to react throughout the turn,
- 28:18Speaker 1: but it's there's still one main at.
- 28:21Speaker 3: I thought you meant about smuggle mechanic was I play
- 28:25Speaker 3: this card, and this card allows me to take a
- 28:27Speaker 3: card from my hand and put it underneath. Depending on
- 28:31Speaker 3: what happens with this card. It depends on what happens
- 28:34Speaker 3: with the card. Underneath said card.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I would hate that too.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Those kind of mechanics always lead to like, well, what
- 28:46Speaker 3: if this weird thing happens that nobody expected, what happens
- 28:53Speaker 3: to that card now? And then you're kind of everybody's like,
- 28:57Speaker 3: I don't know, and then you have it always creates
- 29:00Speaker 3: chaos and dexter. Destroying mana orbs is just the worst
- 29:06Speaker 3: idea in the history of ever, right, like like there
- 29:11Speaker 3: is just go talk to a magic player who played
- 29:15Speaker 3: magic in the early nineties alone.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Magic is different because magic, but you're not guaranteed to
- 29:21Speaker 1: draw land every turn and altered you can mana every turn.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Just take taking away your opponents resources is just it
- 29:31Speaker 3: is so frustrating and just terrible for the health of
- 29:34Speaker 3: a game.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Okay, how about tapping your opponents man.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Or No, you're usual, you know, no, you should never
- 29:42Speaker 3: be allowed to touch your opponent's resources, like you you
- 29:48Speaker 3: are allowed to touch the things on the board that
- 29:50Speaker 3: they've used those resources to play, but don't ever just
- 29:54Speaker 3: be like I'm taking away two of your mana orbs
- 29:57Speaker 3: ha ha, and like that's the end of it. Like
- 29:59Speaker 3: that just no, no, there's a recipe for you want
- 30:03Speaker 3: to kill this card game dexter, is that what you're
- 30:05Speaker 3: trying to do.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I just thought it was a fun idea. Why are
- 30:10Speaker 1: you attacking me so much?
- 30:12Speaker 3: It's no, like it's a great idea in theory, But
- 30:16Speaker 3: then what happens is based decks around this stuff, and then.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Before you know it, you're.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Choking your opponent because it's just a terrible play experience.
- 30:32Speaker 1: So no destroying man or let's not introduce that in
- 30:35Speaker 1: the next set.
- 30:37Speaker 3: No, and if any of that ever gets introduced into
- 30:39Speaker 3: this game, I will hold you personally responsible.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Because like that, I hold you personally responsible for alliance.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I know, and that's fine. I'll eat that. But no, no,
- 30:54Speaker 3: don't don't stop, just stop stop.
- 30:58Speaker 2: I do like how Altered Technically has the reverse where
- 31:03Speaker 2: if you really want to remove someone's permanent or character
- 31:09Speaker 2: or something, you put it into their manna.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It's like you give them mano orbs.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to have to deal with this thing,
- 31:19Speaker 2: and I know that by me getting rid of it,
- 31:22Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a little bit of benefit
- 31:24Speaker 2: next turn. But that's the that's the trade off.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Yeah, is manna reaping the only one that does that?
- 31:33Speaker 2: Guys well, guyser you put guyser in your man own. Yeah,
- 31:40Speaker 2: but you could technically guys are yourself.
- 31:42Speaker 3: So yeah, what are you looking for? What are you
- 31:49Speaker 3: hoping to see?
- 31:52Speaker 1: You?
- 31:52Speaker 3: Because you know all the things that are coming, So.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I I devoid my brain of knowing things when.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Prior to this show he just avoids his brain of
- 32:04Speaker 3: knowing everything.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Yeah. So I I am really joked on the rush mechanic,
- 32:13Speaker 2: and I've already I mean, we've had the conversation on
- 32:16Speaker 2: the podcast here Wookie is in agreement with me that
- 32:19Speaker 2: rush is an amazing mechanic.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I am too. We came around.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we brought Dexter around. But people in the discord,
- 32:28Speaker 2: for some reason, I think it's bad. I don't. I
- 32:33Speaker 2: don't understand how.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Because there's no downside to it. You don't have to
- 32:38Speaker 1: rush if you don't want.
- 32:39Speaker 2: To, exactly. So I'm I'm super excited to see what
- 32:44Speaker 2: other cards have rush and have come around.
- 32:48Speaker 3: People come around it, just they're gonna have to play
- 32:51Speaker 3: with it. Normally, the naysayers to new mechanics are the
- 32:54Speaker 3: ones that are like this is going to destroy my
- 32:57Speaker 3: my most favorite deck, and they're like this is a
- 33:00Speaker 3: bad mechanic, Like it's only bad because it's like, this
- 33:04Speaker 3: will foil all my plans. I don't like this, that's
- 33:07Speaker 3: usually what it is.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Ascended is pretty cool, but I'll admit
- 33:15Speaker 2: that I don't fully grasp what it's gonna look like
- 33:22Speaker 2: with like the full set of cards, so I'm kind
- 33:24Speaker 2: of on the fence of that one. The game designers
- 33:29Speaker 2: always manage to surprise me, though. I was thinking about,
- 33:35Speaker 2: you know, you know, if I could introduce mechanics into
- 33:38Speaker 2: Altered the same way that they've been doing it, which
- 33:42Speaker 2: is like not just ripping a mechanic from another game,
- 33:47Speaker 2: and uh, it's kind of hard. I think one thing
- 33:51Speaker 2: that I would really love to see in the future,
- 33:53Speaker 2: but I don't think will be in the next set
- 33:57Speaker 2: is I would like to see some cards that provide
- 33:59Speaker 2: tough to your reserve. I think that would be really cool.
- 34:06Speaker 2: But the caveat is axiom is absolutely not allowed to
- 34:10Speaker 2: have it.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Why not?
- 34:13Speaker 1: I don't really think sabotage is much of a mechanic
- 34:17Speaker 1: right now, Like, would would giving reserve cards tough really
- 34:23Speaker 1: make that much of a difference, And would it be
- 34:26Speaker 1: on the card itself or something else that would give
- 34:29Speaker 1: it to it?
- 34:31Speaker 2: Could be the card could be a permanent it could
- 34:34Speaker 2: be I mean, the card already exhibit, the mechanic already exists,
- 34:39Speaker 2: So it would just say character instead of characters you
- 34:43Speaker 2: control have tough, it would say characters in control or
- 34:47Speaker 2: in reserve something like that, have tough. I think it
- 34:51Speaker 2: would be super helpful for Moona specifically with gonna adopt
- 34:57Speaker 2: the new term that people have introduced me to, which
- 35:01Speaker 2: is card velocity. Mona probably has the lowest card velocity,
- 35:08Speaker 2: so when you do get something hit in reserve, it hurts.
- 35:13Speaker 2: And it's not just sabotage. It's also exhaust.
- 35:17Speaker 1: You mean like draw power by card velocity.
- 35:21Speaker 2: That just how how many cards you have access to basically,
- 35:25Speaker 2: so it's draws resupply.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Kind of, maybe it's not Maybe it's a bad term
- 35:33Speaker 3: I understand where I think the best way to put
- 35:36Speaker 3: it is maybe tempo right.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I don't know, everyone's just I honestly forgot who started
- 35:50Speaker 2: saying it with me on cast first, but it just
- 35:53Speaker 2: made sense. It's kind of like with tracet right, you
- 35:56Speaker 2: can have one card in hand as traced, but then
- 36:00Speaker 2: you can tap him and use his ability a card,
- 36:06Speaker 2: and then you're gonna put a card in reserve, and
- 36:09Speaker 2: then that card that you just put in reserve probably
- 36:12Speaker 2: honestly gives you access to another card via resupply, and
- 36:16Speaker 2: then that card you resupply has a chance to give
- 36:19Speaker 2: you another card via resupply, and like trace can literally
- 36:25Speaker 2: go from having zero cards in reserve one card in
- 36:28Speaker 2: hand to seeing four cards or more.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Yep, I get it is true.
- 36:32Speaker 3: The best way I would say it's tempo tempo. It's
- 36:37Speaker 3: kind of the pace of the game, right.
- 36:39Speaker 1: So just being able to see more cards, I guess
- 36:42Speaker 1: cars which being able to see more cards allows you
- 36:45Speaker 1: to have a lower curve.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Yeah, you have to be careful. I feel like you
- 36:54Speaker 3: have to be careful with tough you can't.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why I actually can't have it.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Oh that's got it. Yeah, you throw tough around two
- 37:04Speaker 3: willy nilly and all of a sudden like counter cards. Yeah,
- 37:11Speaker 3: removal becomes useless, like taxing, taxing everything. Maybe MUNA could
- 37:17Speaker 3: get some more tough that way, it's a little harder
- 37:19Speaker 3: to remove their stuff.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I think Muna would be the only ones that I
- 37:27Speaker 2: would say deserve a little bit of uh reserve protection.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I think it would be too strong in Lyra, especially
- 37:37Speaker 2: because a fen too strong in ritis and axiom.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Artist doesn't mess with reserve stuff.
- 37:47Speaker 2: They just already have too too much. And now that
- 37:50Speaker 2: they're using things like you know ortis crier. And also
- 37:55Speaker 2: they have the only permanent that has tough already, so.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Well, it doesn't have to be good. Bad cards exist
- 38:02Speaker 1: in the game for a reason, for limited purposes.
- 38:05Speaker 3: But yeah, I.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Reserve, I think that would be cool. It's also not
- 38:12Speaker 2: just about sabotage. It's also exhaust And I've had a
- 38:16Speaker 2: clutes ruining me for like two weeks now, so it
- 38:20Speaker 2: would be cool to.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Have that, is true. It would stop a clue. That
- 38:25Speaker 1: would be very nice.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Yeah, And and the honest thing is is like tough
- 38:30Speaker 2: in the current meta doesn't even protect you that much.
- 38:36Speaker 2: There's enough removal and enough low cost removal and enough
- 38:40Speaker 2: ramp in almost every faction that I can put out,
- 38:45Speaker 2: you know, things that have tough and who I'm facing
- 38:49Speaker 2: will just eat eat the extra cost and not care.
- 38:54Speaker 1: It would depend.
- 38:55Speaker 2: But yeah, the last thing that was specifically written ahead
- 39:00Speaker 2: of time on my list was cards for Muna to
- 39:04Speaker 2: go faster.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Oh you don't want more bananas?
- 39:09Speaker 2: That was my example. But I mean, if there's bananas,
- 39:11Speaker 2: then I'm down pajamas you know that could very well
- 39:18Speaker 2: make an appearance and altered banana?
- 39:20Speaker 3: Is it pajamas? Are they coming down the stairs?
- 39:24Speaker 2: Uh? That's the that's the spell that refers to.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Them, got it? Yeah? Yeah, I'd be all and if
- 39:32Speaker 3: all of a sudden there are bananas and pajamas references,
- 39:36Speaker 3: I will quit whatever I'm playing k right now. Yeah
- 39:44Speaker 3: that's true, don't you wait?
- 39:48Speaker 1: Key Forge?
- 39:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I might Uh Muna go fast. I feel you're
- 39:58Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie. I fee maybe you are, and
- 40:02Speaker 3: you're not dancing on uh dangerous waters.
- 40:12Speaker 2: I mean maybe I just being a little dangerous.
- 40:16Speaker 3: No, that's fine. I feel if Moona could go faster,
- 40:22Speaker 3: it might become opie.
- 40:25Speaker 2: It's wrong with that. It's hard time.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Oh it's it's it's moon of time.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Yeah. No. So like if you look at it, Bravos uh,
- 40:35Speaker 2: you know has their like fire rabbits or their haven
- 40:39Speaker 2: sarhar uh. They have their permanents that are very good
- 40:45Speaker 2: at either resupplying or giving them boosts. What are the
- 40:52Speaker 2: ones in axiom? I mean, the grims is a pretty
- 40:55Speaker 2: insane card when you look at it, like as a whole,
- 41:00Speaker 2: just just something in Mouna that is just good without
- 41:06Speaker 2: having to stick around a ton or you know, be
- 41:13Speaker 2: anchored for a while. And I think it literally only
- 41:17Speaker 2: has to be like one card, and I think it'll
- 41:20Speaker 2: help the kit really well.
- 41:23Speaker 3: So you weren't more like ETBs or more more relevant ETBs.
- 41:33Speaker 3: What is an ETB enter the battlefield? Sorry?
- 41:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's that's probably.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Okay, So I altered. I'm sorry, I'm using other card
- 41:45Speaker 3: game references. So ETBING altered would be like, so you
- 41:50Speaker 3: got cards that when they enter play from hand or
- 41:53Speaker 3: enter play from reserve right that or from anywhere right,
- 41:59Speaker 3: that would be an ETB, so they they have entered
- 42:01Speaker 3: I guess, uh, how would you say it altered entered
- 42:05Speaker 3: the day expedition. That's for the expedition, so it'd be
- 42:11Speaker 3: an et E.
- 42:13Speaker 1: I mean most characters have some kind of ability.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think what Cole is looking for is
- 42:19Speaker 3: more like meaningful of abilities.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I mean it could also just end up
- 42:28Speaker 2: where it's, you know, not as big of an issue.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Next, because I think, and you can stop me if
- 42:35Speaker 3: I'm wrong, I think you're what you're talking about is,
- 42:38Speaker 3: you know, you play these cards and then they kind
- 42:41Speaker 3: of because they just get removed, they end up being
- 42:43Speaker 3: a little bit meaningless.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the basic like big issue with Muna right now.
- 42:52Speaker 3: So he wants more more, more reliable, and maybe a
- 42:57Speaker 3: little more powerful enter the battlefield or enter the expedition abilities.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Yeah, something that kind of gets you before or between
- 43:09Speaker 2: the classic Muna build up of you know, having to
- 43:16Speaker 2: create a board state because right now now hear me out,
- 43:19Speaker 2: there's just so much interaction or there's the hunger that
- 43:23Speaker 2: that just all falls apart too.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Quickly now hear me out right. And I was thinking
- 43:30Speaker 3: of this as you were saying it, and I know
- 43:34Speaker 3: it's a yis of your ability, but what if and
- 43:41Speaker 3: maybe that doesn't really work, I'm not sure, but if
- 43:46Speaker 3: there were more after you abilities in Muna, would that
- 43:55Speaker 3: maybe balance it out? Because I'm catching what you're throwing, right,
- 43:59Speaker 3: You players stuff, and Muna's kind of like I got
- 44:01Speaker 3: big stuff, but the big stuff is really meaningless if
- 44:05Speaker 3: it doesn't stick around, right like yeah, it just it's
- 44:09Speaker 3: like I play big thing and then opponent goes no,
- 44:13Speaker 3: and then you're like, all right, that's cool, like because
- 44:15Speaker 3: you have no other option but to say that. But
- 44:18Speaker 3: you know, and it's like okay, but if you had
- 44:20Speaker 3: more ability to be like, you know, your next action
- 44:24Speaker 3: can be and can be an after you or I
- 44:26Speaker 3: know it's you know, you may pass in your next
- 44:29Speaker 3: action without ending your turn or whatever. They doesn't have
- 44:34Speaker 3: to be after is after you an actual trigger or
- 44:36Speaker 3: is that just on what's her name?
- 44:39Speaker 2: It's on a couple different cards, but also in altered
- 44:45Speaker 2: lingo and after you basically mean.
- 44:47Speaker 3: That's kind of the slang.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, right, that's yeah, like one cost card but yeah, no,
- 44:52Speaker 2: that's like exactly like if there was a good one
- 44:56Speaker 2: cost character that also provided a little bit of a
- 45:00Speaker 2: benefit protection that that would that would be great. In MUNA.
- 45:05Speaker 2: A good example right now is physical training. So if
- 45:09Speaker 2: you look at the physical training rare in Bravos, it's
- 45:13Speaker 2: become very popular in the last month.
- 45:17Speaker 1: So you get a card.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you not only target a character to gain three boosts,
- 45:24Speaker 2: you also draw a card. But if you look at
- 45:28Speaker 2: the the out of faction in Muna, it is technically
- 45:33Speaker 2: one man a less from hand, but it's just the
- 45:36Speaker 2: same target character gains three boosts, but you don't draw
- 45:40Speaker 2: a card.
- 45:42Speaker 1: It's the common version, right, yeah, so it's the common version.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Yeah, if there was literally just a card like that
- 45:49Speaker 2: in Muna it would be great, and sap Duende is
- 45:53Speaker 2: like almost there, but it's very rare that you're going
- 45:59Speaker 2: to get three boosts out of sap Duende. So it's
- 46:04Speaker 2: like sap Duende almost did it, but it.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Not quite not quite there.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Francois actually talked about how for the longest time
- 46:15Speaker 2: they had a big issue with sap Duende and how
- 46:18Speaker 2: it was not good, but he really liked the card.
- 46:22Speaker 2: So they were having a discussion and it was basically
- 46:25Speaker 2: like what would make sap Duende good. It's where it's
- 46:30Speaker 2: actually worth putting in, and they were like, we'll add
- 46:33Speaker 2: draw card. So the card without draw card is not good.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Is not good. It can work sometimes, like yeah, maybe
- 46:43Speaker 1: five percent of the games you play if you draw
- 46:46Speaker 1: it at the right time.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Yeah, but physical training drawing a card in this game
- 46:51Speaker 3: again we go back to episodes and episodes ago, but yeah,
- 46:54Speaker 3: drawing a card in this game is so so ridiculous.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Power having the draw card.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Make being able to have any card that says draw
- 47:03Speaker 3: a card and do a thing is super powerful.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and uh, you know what, I could actually design
- 47:12Speaker 2: the card that would be perfect. It would be a
- 47:17Speaker 2: you know, two or three man out, will be will
- 47:19Speaker 2: be fair, uh like shroom or something that comes in
- 47:26Speaker 2: and it gains fleeting or whatever negative you want to
- 47:31Speaker 2: put on it, and it makes a opposing character switch
- 47:36Speaker 2: expeditions and you draw a card. So it's basically Moona's
- 47:42Speaker 2: because Hooked is freaking cracked and oh my god, you're insane.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Hooked is.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I run two of them in my trace deck.
- 47:53Speaker 2: But but then I'm just like, is probably literally in
- 48:00Speaker 2: the top five best cards of the entire game.
- 48:06Speaker 3: I was gonna say, Texter hooks hooks pretty good. I
- 48:10Speaker 3: don't really know.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I think the thing is is you don't play factions enough,
- 48:19Speaker 2: where Hooked is just devastating to you because now you're untraced,
- 48:24Speaker 2: so you're like, uh, you know whatever, I get to switch,
- 48:28Speaker 2: but I mean start paying it.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Because I'm playing against a lot of artists, so hooking
- 48:34Speaker 1: a little recruit doesn't help me very.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Much, right, Yeah, it doesn't. It doesn't matter as much
- 48:39Speaker 2: against artists. But look at like Lyra and Muna, which
- 48:42Speaker 2: are there. Yeah, not only why you.
- 48:47Speaker 1: Hate Hooked, Yeah, yeah, I can see that.
- 48:50Speaker 2: It's not only really strong in the counterplay, but you
- 48:54Speaker 2: also draw a card and it doesn't have fleeting. That
- 48:59Speaker 2: means you can move two opposing characters to just be
- 49:02Speaker 2: away from you and draw two cards for four man.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Yes, I have done that quite a few times. It's
- 49:10Speaker 1: still doesn't seem that good to me.
- 49:13Speaker 3: I don't know it is number one. Drawing two cards
- 49:18Speaker 3: is already.
- 49:20Speaker 1: But like with Trace, you don't need cards. You have
- 49:23Speaker 1: so many ways to generate cards.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Oh, poor Dexter is just burdening too many cards.
- 49:30Speaker 3: I have too many good cards in my hand. Whatever
- 49:33Speaker 3: shall I do?
- 49:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I swear, tell me what you think the top
- 49:39Speaker 2: five cards are in the entire game in the comments,
- 49:42Speaker 2: and if Hooked isn't in there, where have you been
- 49:46Speaker 2: for the last couple sets.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Well, let's just have them put the top five and
- 49:52Speaker 3: then we'll see if they're actually any good.
- 49:56Speaker 2: But yeah, that was that was my list. I think
- 50:00Speaker 2: Exter I did not happen to get answers from Felix. Unfortunately.
- 50:05Speaker 2: I asked him if he wanted to shoot him over,
- 50:07Speaker 2: But he's dealing with car troubles, so other than destroying
- 50:11Speaker 2: man at words, what did you put next to.
- 50:14Speaker 1: I agreed with your more two man aut cards more
- 50:18Speaker 1: one man of cards too, more cheap stuff. I just
- 50:23Speaker 1: want to use all the manna that I have guaranteed,
- 50:26Speaker 1: the ones that a joke yes on curve perfect little time,
- 50:33Speaker 1: every turn, every turn. If I'm playing turns where I'm
- 50:37Speaker 1: not playing on curve, something's going wrong, And then I
- 50:41Speaker 1: want more bureaucrats. So I loved War, but now it's
- 50:45Speaker 1: done for and I've kind of tinkered with it a
- 50:49Speaker 1: little bit, gotten a few.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Games, just Top four something.
- 50:56Speaker 2: He's still around around. Yeah, he had a fifty conversion
- 51:02Speaker 2: rate in the last qualifier, only two of them and
- 51:09Speaker 2: one mate.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Yeah, but I always love conversion rates when like people
- 51:15Speaker 3: are like, yeah, I mean it had a huge conversion rate,
- 51:19Speaker 3: you know, it's like, yeah, fifty, like a massive number,
- 51:22Speaker 3: but like two people played it and one person made it,
- 51:26Speaker 3: Like that's not I don't know if it really works
- 51:29Speaker 3: like that. It's kind of a skewed number at that point.
- 51:32Speaker 2: Yeah, But if you if you look at it in
- 51:35Speaker 2: the sense that Muna as a faction entirely only had
- 51:40Speaker 2: two players in top thirty two, and who was in
- 51:44Speaker 2: top thirty two.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I'm not going to disagree with you that Mona does
- 51:48Speaker 3: need a little something. And I think what they need
- 51:53Speaker 3: a little bit of that insurance policy because yeah, they
- 51:57Speaker 3: normally get big creatures kind of I don't know what
- 52:01Speaker 3: the word I'm looking for, like their jams like larger stuff,
- 52:04Speaker 3: right like, but like it's tough to play the larger
- 52:07Speaker 3: stuff when you're just gonna see it, you know, basically
- 52:09Speaker 3: quote unquote counter spelled, right like, when it's just when
- 52:13Speaker 3: it's gonna hit the bit doesn't do you any good
- 52:15Speaker 3: in the bin, right, So just a little bit of insurance,
- 52:20Speaker 3: a carter a carter two that give gives their big
- 52:23Speaker 3: stuff a little bit of insurance insurance. Maybe they you know,
- 52:27Speaker 3: whether that comes in the form of you know, they
- 52:29Speaker 3: get that little tempo of not being a you know,
- 52:33Speaker 3: you get to play a card and then I get
- 52:34Speaker 3: to react or you know, you know, I like the
- 52:40Speaker 3: tough idea is is it a bad one? It's just
- 52:42Speaker 3: one of those ones where it's like, ah, you gotta
- 52:44Speaker 3: kind of be tough, You gotta kind of be tough,
- 52:46Speaker 3: You gotta kind of be a little bit sparing with
- 52:52Speaker 3: that one, because they can get out of hand and
- 52:55Speaker 3: dumb ways. Just look at wardon Magic right now. That's
- 52:59Speaker 3: definitely not causing a lot of people frustration, not a little,
- 53:03Speaker 3: not at all?
- 53:07Speaker 2: All right, Yeah what else? What else are you saying, dexter?
- 53:13Speaker 1: So I just wanted more bureaucrats, is there? And I
- 53:16Speaker 1: want more good, unique bureaucrats stuff to do interesting things.
- 53:21Speaker 1: And then I really like Bubbles. I don't remember the
- 53:25Speaker 1: actual hero's name, but I like Bubbles and I want
- 53:28Speaker 1: to see lots of support for him and manipulate terrains.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yep. So, as I've said, whenever you see a
- 53:41Speaker 2: new mechanic introduced and altered, and I mean it's been
- 53:45Speaker 2: right every single time, it is going to exist on
- 53:49Speaker 2: more than just the card that was shown. Yeah, so
- 53:54Speaker 2: there there will definitely be you know, more ascension, more
- 53:59Speaker 2: wooly back, more terrain, manipulation, more sacrifice, more.
- 54:07Speaker 3: Yeah, quest counters, penguins, more birds, but cool birds.
- 54:14Speaker 2: There should be There should be a lot of birds
- 54:17Speaker 2: actually in this set.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Actually there might be a lot of birds in this set.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yep, but we go but we're getting space whales.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Maybe means yeah bird dope as hill.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know if flamingos fly though. Do flamingos fly?
- 54:40Speaker 1: M m, it's like they fly like a chicken probably,
- 54:46Speaker 1: like not very well, they could probably go a few feet.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Chickens have their wings clipped, don't they like you know
- 54:54Speaker 3: chickens that.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Oh maybe they do. Yeah, they still can't fly very
- 54:58Speaker 1: far with unclipked wings. Yeah.
- 55:01Speaker 3: So I in Google, I typed it do fly, And
- 55:04Speaker 3: the very first one is do Flamingos fly? Yes, comingoes
- 55:08Speaker 3: fly and do so regularly. Capable of reaching speed forty
- 55:13Speaker 3: five to forty miles per hour for short and long distance, respectively.
- 55:18Speaker 3: They often fly in flocks and can reach impressive altitudes
- 55:21Speaker 3: of up to two twenty thousand feet.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Ah, would not have expected flamingos to fly that well.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Turkeys fly, we can get a turkey the Settler released
- 55:36Speaker 3: just time for Thanksgiving.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of that's kind of twisted a little bit.
- 55:43Speaker 3: But shall we go into the mouse, the mouse and
- 55:47Speaker 3: house Little Mouse?
- 55:49Speaker 2: Yep, the little the little mouse lore. I made this
- 55:52Speaker 2: episode kind of short, and we don't have any Patreon questions,
- 55:58Speaker 2: So if you want to hear and sears to questions,
- 56:01Speaker 2: go on the Patreon and ask them. And yeah, free
- 56:05Speaker 2: for everyone.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Free for questions are free for all. You can all
- 56:10Speaker 3: ask the quest But if you do want to give
- 56:14Speaker 3: cola dollar for his sanity also feel free to do
- 56:18Speaker 3: that he does. He does a lot of work for
- 56:21Speaker 3: the community, so and he puts in just as much
- 56:25Speaker 3: work for altered corners. So help him, help him off
- 56:28Speaker 3: the help help him off set the costs just a
- 56:30Speaker 3: little bit, just a little bit. But the little mouse,
- 56:37Speaker 3: it fights tooth for tooth with the fairy. This whole
- 56:41Speaker 3: story about the mouse fighting the tooth fairy. Anyways, it
- 56:44Speaker 3: scratches the ground with its paws and the soft light
- 56:47Speaker 3: of daybreak. Wrapped up and its red felt coat, its
- 56:52Speaker 3: collar turned up, and a large bag slung over its shoulders,
- 56:55Speaker 3: it digs. The root of a little baby tooth can
- 56:58Speaker 3: be seen protruding out of the bag. I have an
- 57:02Speaker 3: irresistible urge to immediately take it, to grab its bag
- 57:05Speaker 3: and run with it, run with the loot. But I
- 57:07Speaker 3: stop myself. The little mouse continues to dig. It suddenly
- 57:11Speaker 3: stops on guard, then listens and scans the area around it. Instinctively,
- 57:17Speaker 3: I instinctively pull my head back from the edge of
- 57:20Speaker 3: the thicket where I'm watching from where I can hide
- 57:23Speaker 3: behind the foliage. The undergrowth is the perfect place to
- 57:26Speaker 3: hide or to hide something. The little mouse takes the
- 57:31Speaker 3: baby teeth out of its bag and places them one
- 57:33Speaker 3: by one in the hole, carefully, cautiously, Then seemingly satisfied,
- 57:38Speaker 3: it covers the hole with dirt and presses it down
- 57:41Speaker 3: with its hind legs. It leaves after a final glance,
- 57:45Speaker 3: jingling a handful of coins it will properly give out tonight.
- 57:50Speaker 3: I could jump onto it and prevent it from collecting
- 57:52Speaker 3: any more teeth, thereby eliminating the competition, but I'd rather
- 57:57Speaker 3: let it be. It has free rain, uncollecteds loute. Each
- 58:02Speaker 3: time a human leaves a tooth somewhere, it's like a ritual,
- 58:05Speaker 3: like a call we need to answer. It's been like
- 58:08Speaker 3: this for a long long time, and it won't change
- 58:12Speaker 3: anytime soon. Each time we're summoned, it's a race to
- 58:17Speaker 3: find out which of us will be faster. Once I
- 58:21Speaker 3: am certain a little mouse has gone, I come out
- 58:23Speaker 3: of my hiding place, eyeing the loot it's coveting. Each
- 58:27Speaker 3: tooth I collect gives me more power. Each tooth I
- 58:31Speaker 3: still weakens my rival. I move forward slowly, trying to
- 58:35Speaker 3: work out if it's set a trap for me. But
- 58:38Speaker 3: as I approach, I hear something calling me from afar.
- 58:41Speaker 3: It's that damned mage who wants me to heal him again.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Is this the first time I've seen a curse word
- 58:51Speaker 1: in one of these?
- 58:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't well, I don't know if that's I
- 58:56Speaker 3: don't know if it's a curse necessarily damned.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Damned could be the age actually, like damned.
- 59:03Speaker 3: I would say, if the mage is damned, well that's
- 59:07Speaker 3: kind of a weird. It's that damned mage who wants
- 59:10Speaker 3: me to heal him again. Yeah, damned, he could be
- 59:12Speaker 3: a cursed mage.
- 59:15Speaker 2: Yeah, this this story is super cool. As you could tell.
- 59:20Speaker 2: The narrator was the tooth Fairy. But if you did
- 59:23Speaker 2: not know, a lot of us here in America are
- 59:27Speaker 2: used to the tooth fairy, but in other cultures they
- 59:30Speaker 2: actually have the little mouse.
- 59:33Speaker 3: I did read this. The little mouse is the French
- 59:35Speaker 3: equivalent of the tooth fairy, and they just speaking in
- 59:38Speaker 3: Germanic cultures. Is also known as ron tosito perez or
- 59:44Speaker 3: simply al raton in Spanish speaking countries and topino in Italy.
- 59:52Speaker 3: I did not know that the tooth fairy was not.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Like I never knew that they had thing.
- 59:58Speaker 3: That there was that that other cultures, it's a little
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: mouse that comes and gets it.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: That's cool. I like it.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: And the art progression of little mouse is on the
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: first one, the little mouse is burying some normal white teeth.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: On the second, which I believe is the rare, burying
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: some gold teeth, and then on the unique it's like
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: greenish tea emeralds, emerald teeth maybe I don't know who.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: He's also some really cool orange flowers in the background.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I was gonna say, I think the mouse has just
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: become a little more ornate, right, Like he's kind of
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: a little like he ain't missing like if you look
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: the first one, he's not missing a piece of his ear,
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: or the second one he's missing a piece of his ear.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: His tails a little raggedy, but his clothes are nicer,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I guess because purple is always kind of a color
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: that's like associate royalty, right, So he goes through like
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: just a red to a purple. So like, you know,
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: now he's and he's got gold teeth, right, So he's
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: a little bit richer of a mouse at this point
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: in time. And then you kind of get like the
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: richest of the mice right again, in a gold cloak.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: You know, it's got some gold inlaying it. He's got
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: the gold teeth again. He's got his little gold earring
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: in right glasses. I don't know.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Now he's got shoes.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: He's got shoes, and he's got some shades. Yeah, fun
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: little story for you. No Patreon questions this week.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Nope, we answered the two well technically the three we
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: got last week. So we'll collect up some more and
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: then for your events. Everything is just about as normal
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: as the last episode. I am working on keeping up
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: with Altered Corner dot com. All of the tumults in
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Texas and Saint Louis are on the website and I'll
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: keep updating that and that. That is that is all.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: I had, nice quick concise one hour. We did it,
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I think for.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: One boom what this is a little over an hour.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: But we want to thank everybody for coming into the
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: live check. You can join us live every single we
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: are I shouldn't say every single Friday, because we are
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: the most inconsistent live show on the planet. But maybe
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: well you know, now that things have calmed down a
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: little bit more, maybe we'll be a little more consistent,
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: because I mean.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I don't know, I might be doing stuff Friday nights
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: now that I'm in college.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I me and live just saying. And then you know,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: obviously we've got you know, we got next w cqs
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: in Baltimore right September.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: So there's three. First, there's three tomorrow, so I will
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: actually be hosting the stream for Canada over on a
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: wall in the morning, and then Blue will be hosting
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: it in the afternoon. Both of us will be around
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: basically the whole time, and then we'll have some different
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: casters like l e Oh and a guy trying and Chile.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: And then Taiwan and Chile are also tomorrow. There's no
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: stream for Taiwan tomorrow being eight thirty by the way,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: today's Friday, so tomorrow's Saturday. There is a stream for
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Chile on Twitch on Taburna Aurante. And then the weekend,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: so a week from tomorrow is the North American tai
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I'm centered EGA qualifier, and then the weekend after that
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: is both Asia and Baltimore. So I think three or
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: four weekends from now I'll finally have a break. But
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: we'll see.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: Yeah, but I believe the next one for North America
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: for the US shouldn't say North America, but for the
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: US will be middle of next month.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Correct for in person? Yeah for in.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Person, Yeah, over at games and stuff. So if you
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: haven't gone out there, go out there. Cool game store too.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: I've been to Games and Stuff. Very large game star,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: but super duper cool. So if you get the opportunity
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: and you can go check them out, should be a
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: lot of fun. I guess check out well. I would
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: say go check out Cold tomorrow, but by the time
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: you're hearing this, it's Tuesday, so you will not be
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: hearing call tomorrow. But check out some of the recaps
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: on the stream. I'm sure we'll be talking about them
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: in the future week or next week or on the
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: live show that is now a Friday, because now it's
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: weird how we release these boys. It's been a pleasure. Again,
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: thank you all for joining us here in the live show,
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: and then thank you all for listening to us on
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: the playbacks. With that being said, we will see you
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: all next week.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: See you, We see you.
