Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is 710WOR, where the Mark Simone Show starts now.
- 0:08Speaker 1: That's right, it's three hours now, nine to noon, if
- 0:11Speaker 1: there's anybody who still doesn't know. Nine to noon every day,
- 0:14Speaker 1: three hours every day. A lot to get to. We'll
- 0:17Speaker 1: get to Lindsay Clancy and all the latest. We'll get
- 0:19Speaker 1: to President Trump in Ireland. We'll get to this big
- 0:24Speaker 1: AI scare. Who's really behind this? We'll get to the U.S.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Open.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Thank God it's over. Yesterday was the last day, right?
- 0:34Speaker 1: We don't have to see this again?
- 0:35Speaker 3: Good.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm not a big U.S. Open fan. We'll get to
- 0:40Speaker 1: Crazy Mom Donnie and AOC laughing at 9-11. We'll get
- 0:45Speaker 1: to the governor's race. We'll get to Celine Dion and
- 0:49Speaker 1: more vicious, vicious rain yesterday. It came down just so
- 0:55Speaker 1: fast and so hard. Fairfield County, Connecticut getting hit probably
- 1:00Speaker 1: the hardest. Stanford, Connecticut, seven inches of rain hit. Tremendous
- 1:05Speaker 1: flooding in areas in Stanford, Darien, Westport. I mean, you
- 1:08Speaker 1: see the video on the news, people in boats going.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I mean, it was just awful. But luckily it ended
- 1:16Speaker 1: about noon and things getting back to normal. They even
- 1:19Speaker 1: closed the Bronx River Parkway for a time. yesterday in Westchester.
- 1:23Speaker 1: President Trump in Ireland with the Irish Prime Minister, and
- 1:28Speaker 1: they're talking about all sorts of stuff. The one thing he, well,
- 1:34Speaker 1: you know, whiskey's a big thing over there. Whiskey's a
- 1:37Speaker 1: big thing. Everybody's been bugging me. They're saying, would you
- 1:40Speaker 1: do me a favor? It's so unfair what's going on.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Could you possibly.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Take the tariffs off of Irish whiskey?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Woo!
- 1:52Speaker 1: All right. He's become a real politician, knows how to
- 1:55Speaker 1: pander when he needs to. So that'll be that for
- 1:58Speaker 1: that text. He talked about unification, which is very controversial
- 2:03Speaker 1: over there, but that's just a logical thing to say.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I mean, you always want to see unification anywhere where
- 2:09Speaker 1: any country is divided in two. It's not a crazy
- 2:13Speaker 1: thing to say. You know, last week they had that
- 2:17Speaker 1: midterm convention, that Republican midterm convention. It was a good idea,
- 2:22Speaker 1: a very good idea, although I don't know who the
- 2:24Speaker 1: hell saw it. It was on Fox News, but you'd
- 2:28Speaker 1: figure most of those viewers already voting Republican. So I
- 2:32Speaker 1: don't know who saw it. And then he threw out
- 2:34Speaker 1: this thing about a $ 5, 000 check for everybody in America.
- 2:40Speaker 1: If we win a $ 5, 000 check now, Apparently, from what
- 2:45Speaker 1: I hear, that was not in the speech, that was
- 2:48Speaker 1: not in the script, that was not in the teleprompter.
- 2:52Speaker 1: He just threw it out there out of nowhere, just
- 2:54Speaker 1: out at the top of his head, totally terrifying his
- 2:59Speaker 1: staff and everybody because they knew this was going to
- 3:01Speaker 1: be controversial. So, of course, on the Sunday shows, this
- 3:05Speaker 1: is all they zero in on. This is all they
- 3:07Speaker 1: want to know about. Now, he just threw it out there.
- 3:10Speaker 1: It wasn't even planned. He's just shooting his mouth off.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But we've heard this before from politicians with Obama phones,
- 3:17Speaker 1: with Biden yelling and screaming, I'll forgive your student loans.
- 3:22Speaker 1: When had he actually seriously looked into it, he would
- 3:24Speaker 1: have found he can't do it. He has no power
- 3:26Speaker 1: to do it. So they just throw out these things
- 3:29Speaker 1: to appease the crowd. But if you're watching the Sunday shows,
- 3:33Speaker 1: they never got to any real topics. They just zeroed
- 3:36Speaker 1: in on that $ 5, 000. It's just something. Now, maybe sometimes
- 3:40Speaker 1: when Donald Trump shoots his mouth off, you think he's
- 3:45Speaker 1: just reckless. But then it turns out there was an
- 3:46Speaker 1: incredible strategy to it. So this could be one of
- 3:50Speaker 1: those cases. Maybe he wants everybody talking about that $ 5, 000 check.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Because as I say, who saw this midterm convention? How
- 3:59Speaker 1: many people saw that speech? It was a little too long.
- 4:01Speaker 1: It was an hour and 47 minutes. A lot of
- 4:03Speaker 1: people tuned out after 45 minutes. You just can't get
- 4:07Speaker 1: people to focus that long. Also, it's on against a
- 4:09Speaker 1: big NFL opening game. So by throwing that out there
- 4:13Speaker 1: and creating all this controversy, everywhere you go, every left-wing
- 4:17Speaker 1: fake news network show, they're all talking about it. So maybe,
- 4:22Speaker 1: you know, people just half pay attention to the news
- 4:25Speaker 1: in many cases. Maybe they want to just keep hearing
- 4:28Speaker 1: $ 5, 000 check. You're getting a $ 5, 000 check. But here's Mike Johnson,
- 4:34Speaker 1: Speaker of the House. He's on the Sunday show to
- 4:35Speaker 1: talk about serious matters. And all she wants to ask about,
- 4:39Speaker 1: or this might be Meet the Press, they're all the same.
- 4:43Speaker 1: The worst is that Kristen Welker, she doesn't even try
- 4:45Speaker 1: to sound like a journalist. She just sounds like a
- 4:48Speaker 1: prosecutor for the Democrats, trying to tear apart Republicans. So
- 4:52Speaker 1: whatever Johnson wants to talk about, she keeps asking about
- 4:55Speaker 1: this $ 5, 000. Again, we've got to.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Process it like every idea.
- 4:58Speaker 4: We'll work that through Congress.
- 4:59Speaker 5: But you and I are wasting a lot of time
- 5:01Speaker 5: this morning when there's other important things to talk about.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Well, you still haven't answered the question.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Let me just button it up. We're going to move
- 5:07Speaker 4: on to a number of other topics.
- 5:08Speaker 1: But do you commit that if Republicans hold on to
- 5:09Speaker 1: the House and Senate that Americans will get those $ 5, 000 checks?
- 5:13Speaker 5: I commit that Congress will work through it and find
- 5:16Speaker 5: consensus on that like I have to do everything else.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Well, that's a pretty good answer, but it's not what
- 5:21Speaker 1: she wants. You see, most of these people, they're not
- 5:22Speaker 1: looking for substance. These George Stephanopoulos, Kristen Welker, Martha Raddatz-type interviews,
- 5:29Speaker 1: they're not looking for substance in an answer. They're fishing
- 5:32Speaker 1: for a soundbite. They want a soundbite that they can
- 5:35Speaker 1: play over and over again. That's why, like in the debate,
- 5:38Speaker 1: they'll say, it's a yes or no question. I want
- 5:39Speaker 1: a yes or no answer. And every politician should say,
- 5:43Speaker 1: whenever that happens, I don't answer yes or no questions.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I can only give you a detailed answer with substance.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I don't do yes or no questions. So But again,
- 5:53Speaker 1: it's just an idea he just tossed out. Because everybody
- 5:56Speaker 1: said that the great, big, beautiful bill.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Will never happen.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It happened.
- 6:01Speaker 5: They said that the 1776 for the military, $ 1, 776.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Would never happen.
- 6:08Speaker 5: And it happened.
- 6:09Speaker 4: They were paid.
- 6:10Speaker 5: And now they say, oh, the $ 5, 000.
- 6:12Speaker 6: The $ 5, 000 is going to happen 100%.
- 6:13Speaker 1: All right. You never know. You never know. If he
- 6:17Speaker 1: gets the Congress, control of the Congress involved, In the midterms,
- 6:20Speaker 1: they can pass another big, beautiful bill, which increases revenue
- 6:25Speaker 1: into the federal government, which just makes the economy soar.
- 6:31Speaker 1: And from that, he could actually give a dividend back, $ 5, 000.
- 6:34Speaker 1: It cost about a trillion bucks, but he could do it. Now,
- 6:38Speaker 1: people are yelling right now, Democrats, what do you mean
- 6:41Speaker 1: revenue is up? Deficit has nothing to do with revenue.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Revenue actually increased dramatically. Revenue is up, way up. That dividend,
- 6:52Speaker 1: I mean, that deficit, that's government spending. Out of control, crazy,
- 6:56Speaker 1: insane government spending. Republicans, just as bad as Democrats when
- 7:00Speaker 1: it comes to that. They're horrible at it. They're just
- 7:03Speaker 1: handing out contracts, letting everybody overcharge by 10,000% for the
- 7:07Speaker 1: work in exchange for donations, votes. So deficit, government spending.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's a measure of government spending. That's all it is. Hey,
- 7:17Speaker 1: the Lindsay Clancy trial. This lawyer, he's like a real
- 7:23Speaker 1: showboating lawyer. He says everything is for the cameras. You know, even,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you remember he asked last week, he asked Donald Trump
- 7:29Speaker 1: to pardon Lindsay Clancy. There's no federal charges. It's a
- 7:35Speaker 1: local charge. Trump has no power to pardon a local case.
- 7:39Speaker 1: It has to be a federal case. He's a lawyer.
- 7:42Speaker 1: This guy would know that, wouldn't he? He knows Trump
- 7:45Speaker 1: has no power to pardon in a local criminal case.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That has to be the governor. It can't be the president.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So just playing for the cameras. Apparently, they want a
- 7:55Speaker 1: plea deal. Now, the problem is this particular prosecutor, this
- 8:01Speaker 1: particular DA's office does not plea deal. They have a
- 8:04Speaker 1: history of not making deals. Extremely rare for this office.
- 8:09Speaker 1: But he's all over television. He's trying to convince them
- 8:14Speaker 1: that they got no hope of conviction, that they'll get
- 8:16Speaker 1: embarrassed again with a hung jury. They shouldn't try. So Uh,
- 8:19Speaker 1: she just doesn't want to go to jail. She doesn't
- 8:21Speaker 1: want prison. She's going to be in a, she's already
- 8:23Speaker 1: in a mental facility, but she's going to be there
- 8:25Speaker 1: no matter what happens. She'll be there for years. It's
- 8:28Speaker 1: a question of a couple of years in the mental
- 8:31Speaker 1: institution or life in prison. So he wants a plea deal.
- 8:35Speaker 1: That's the mental institution. She also wants money. She's suing
- 8:40Speaker 1: the hospitals, the doctors, everything, all the medication they gave her,
- 8:44Speaker 1: the times they switched the medication. So she's suing for
- 8:47Speaker 1: millions and millions and millions of dollars. And the husband
- 8:51Speaker 1: is suing as well. And then they got this GoFundMe
- 8:54Speaker 1: where they're going to raise $ 3 million. The lawyer will
- 8:57Speaker 1: get a big chunk of that. I don't know who
- 8:59Speaker 1: else will get a big chunk of that. Hey, big
- 9:03Speaker 1: story starting last night is this AI threat. AI is
- 9:09Speaker 1: going to destroy us all. We have to get it
- 9:11Speaker 1: under control. AI is already getting out of control. We
- 9:14Speaker 1: have to slow down development of AI or it's going
- 9:18Speaker 1: to murder us all. Sounds pretty scary. You had the
- 9:23Speaker 1: CEO of Anthropic coming out and saying this. He even
- 9:26Speaker 1: wrote an editorial saying it. You've got some other AI people,
- 9:30Speaker 1: mostly employees, saying it's dangerous, it's out of control, it's
- 9:34Speaker 1: going to wipe us all out. Why all of a sudden?
- 9:38Speaker 1: Why One day, did this just get unleashed like crazy? Well,
- 9:44Speaker 1: this is— now, forget for a second whether there's a threat
- 9:48Speaker 1: from AI or not. What we do know is that
- 9:52Speaker 1: behind the scenes, stirring this all up, orchestrating this, getting
- 9:56Speaker 1: this whole thing going, this explosion of controversy— is one
- 10:01Speaker 1: Barack Obama. Apparently he's been meeting with Democrats behind the scenes.
- 10:07Speaker 1: He's been quietly orchestrating the midterm campaign for Democrats, strategizing.
- 10:13Speaker 1: He's been plotting all of this. The first plot was
- 10:17Speaker 1: the data center's the AI data centers, they would turn
- 10:20Speaker 1: them into like nuclear power plants, something so scary to
- 10:25Speaker 1: have in your backyard, to have in your state, in
- 10:27Speaker 1: your community. They wanted people terrified of these data centers.
- 10:34Speaker 1: The nuclear power plant, maybe you could scare people with that.
- 10:37Speaker 1: A data center is just a big, huge building with
- 10:39Speaker 1: a lot of computers in it. The worst problem is
- 10:42Speaker 1: it makes a lot of noise. You don't want it
- 10:44Speaker 1: too close to you. It makes a lot of noise
- 10:47Speaker 1: that can Definitely be bad a half mile away and
- 10:49Speaker 1: can still be heard a mile away. So if you
- 10:52Speaker 1: just put it a mile away from everybody, it's no problem.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It's not going to melt down. It's not going to explode.
- 10:57Speaker 1: It's just a bunch of computers in a big, huge building.
- 11:01Speaker 1: We already have data centers all over the place. You know,
- 11:03Speaker 1: we have 19 data centers in New York City. They've
- 11:06Speaker 1: been there for quite a while. They're not the big,
- 11:09Speaker 1: big ones, but they're data centers. So apparently the data
- 11:14Speaker 1: center scare wasn't working. as far as midterm election votes.
- 11:19Speaker 1: So they've decided to make AI the big issue. The
- 11:22Speaker 1: other thing is they've seen the whole climate change stuff
- 11:26Speaker 1: didn't work. It worked for a time, but right now
- 11:29Speaker 1: nobody's worried about climate change. It's now 20 years later.
- 11:33Speaker 1: When was Al Gore? In 1992. It's more than 20 years.
- 11:39Speaker 1: 24 years later and nothing he said came true. We're
- 11:41Speaker 1: not underwater anymore. The glaciers didn't melt. In fact, they're
- 11:44Speaker 1: bigger now. Everything he predicted, the opposite happened. So nobody's
- 11:48Speaker 1: quite buying that climate scare anymore. The climate emergency. You
- 11:53Speaker 1: can't use that anymore. So they're trying to get a
- 11:55Speaker 1: new version of that, and it's going to be the
- 11:57Speaker 1: AI emergency. Just like climate change was going to wipe
- 12:01Speaker 1: us all out, this is going to be AI is
- 12:04Speaker 1: going to wipe us all out. So apparently Obama has
- 12:08Speaker 1: been orchestrating this behind the scenes.
- 12:10Speaker 3: But you.
- 12:12Speaker 1: You're saying, well, what about the chairman of Anthropic, the CEO?
- 12:15Speaker 1: He came out and said it. Yeah, he's very, very
- 12:20Speaker 1: close to Obama. He's a very close Obama associate. The
- 12:25Speaker 1: fact that he was the one AI CEO that came
- 12:27Speaker 1: out makes this even more obvious as part of this
- 12:30Speaker 1: Obama scheme. So he wants this to be the big
- 12:33Speaker 1: midterm issue that AI is going to kill us all.
- 12:37Speaker 1: We have to put government control over it. And they
- 12:41Speaker 1: figured the Republicans will oppose it. They'll be the ones
- 12:44Speaker 1: fighting for this kind of control. And that will be
- 12:47Speaker 1: the winning issue in the midterms. I don't think this
- 12:50Speaker 1: will work because, first of all, most people aren't that stupid.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I mean, AI has tremendous benefits. They think within five
- 12:58Speaker 1: years it could cure all diseases, that kind of stuff. Obviously,
- 13:02Speaker 1: it's something to be worried about, but it has so
- 13:05Speaker 1: much benefit to it. And government control, how's that going
- 13:08Speaker 1: to happen? Chuck Schumer controlling AI? Do you think Chuck
- 13:12Speaker 1: Schumer even knows how to use his computer? He's one
- 13:15Speaker 1: of those old guys that has to call his kids
- 13:17Speaker 1: to come over and show them how to start his
- 13:20Speaker 1: computer again. He doesn't know anything about AI. President Trump
- 13:24Speaker 1: is all for keeping going. He thinks it's very important
- 13:28Speaker 1: that we lead the world in AI. Whoever wins this
- 13:30Speaker 1: battle wins everything, as President Trump.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Let's talk about Anthropic. They did something that was very bad.
- 13:39Speaker 5: three months ago, and we shut them down. We shut
- 13:43Speaker 5: them down fast. We have guardrails. The biggest guardrails are
- 13:47Speaker 5: having people that are just as smart because nobody understands it.
- 13:50Speaker 5: We're making strides in every business right now that would take,
- 13:53Speaker 5: in many cases, 100 years to get to. The kind
- 13:56Speaker 5: of things that are coming out are incredible. Now, we
- 13:59Speaker 5: want guardrails, but at the same time, it's a very
- 14:01Speaker 5: fine line. You know, China doesn't have guardrails, by the way.
- 14:05Speaker 5: You know, the guardrail is President Xi. That's the guardrail.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Well, that's the other thing to remember. If we slow
- 14:10Speaker 1: down AI, China will just increase it. Remember the same
- 14:14Speaker 1: thing with the climate and that stuff. I'm going to
- 14:16Speaker 1: get rid of all our coal plants. But then China
- 14:20Speaker 1: made 500 times as many coal plants as they had.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So you had more coal being produced than ever before.
- 14:25Speaker 1: The same thing with AI. Now, when these guys try
- 14:29Speaker 1: to scare you that AI could kill us all, how
- 14:32Speaker 1: exactly would it kill us? And no matter what it
- 14:36Speaker 1: was doing, I mean, it's digital it's online I mean
- 14:40Speaker 1: the worst would happen you have to pull the plug
- 14:42Speaker 1: and turn it off but I mean the one thing
- 14:45Speaker 1: it could do if it got totally out of control
- 14:47Speaker 1: and tried to take over it could just jam up
- 14:51Speaker 1: the internet it can I mean right now AI can
- 14:55Speaker 1: create bots so fast if you have a website and
- 14:59Speaker 1: it's getting attacked by a bot which is like a
- 15:01Speaker 1: fake account you know most websites know how to fight
- 15:07Speaker 1: off those bots and as they come in, they have
- 15:10Speaker 1: software that'll recognize it, block it, and stop it. But
- 15:14Speaker 1: if you used AI, it could send 5 million blots
- 15:17Speaker 1: in a microsecond more than your software could handle. So
- 15:20Speaker 1: that's the kind of stuff that could happen. Outside of that,
- 15:23Speaker 1: it's not going to kill you. There's certain proposals like, well,
- 15:27Speaker 1: we're going to have robots all over the place. Don't
- 15:30Speaker 1: put the AI in the robots because the robot's a
- 15:32Speaker 1: physical thing that actually could kill you, could get nuts.
- 15:35Speaker 1: So But again, it's Obama behind this. They're using it
- 15:40Speaker 1: as a midterm election issue. And if, let's say, let's
- 15:45Speaker 1: say they lose the midterms, the Democrats, you won't even
- 15:47Speaker 1: hear about it the next day. Anyway, we've got a
- 15:49Speaker 1: lot more to get to. We'll get to Celine Dion
- 15:53Speaker 1: makes her return. We'll get to Mamdani and more. Coming up,
- 15:56Speaker 1: it's Mark Simone here every day. Now, three hours, nine
- 16:00Speaker 1: to noon. here on 710WOR. Well, hey, it's Monday. There
- 16:06Speaker 1: are eight days left in summer. Eight days left till
- 16:11Speaker 1: fall begins. Autumn begins on the 23rd. It's going to
- 16:14Speaker 1: be a beautiful day today. It's going to be a
- 16:16Speaker 1: little cooler this week in the, like, 70s, but really
- 16:18Speaker 1: nice all week, the final stretch of summer. So 9-11,
- 16:23Speaker 1: that's just such a hard day to get through. Friday
- 16:27Speaker 1: was a tough, tough day, reliving all that. So the
- 16:30Speaker 1: ceremony at Ground Zero had all the living ex-presidents. I
- 16:35Speaker 1: guess you can include Joe Biden as living in that category.
- 16:39Speaker 1: And then Mamdani was there, which was creating all the controversy,
- 16:44Speaker 1: but no incidents except we see this video and these pictures.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Mamdani is standing with AOC and they're laughing in the
- 16:54Speaker 1: middle of the ceremony. laughing in the middle of the
- 16:58Speaker 1: 9-11 ceremony. Remember that Seinfeld episode where he was caught
- 17:02Speaker 1: laughing during Schindler's List? He was making out with his
- 17:05Speaker 1: girlfriend during Schindler's List. But it just looked awful. Mamdani, AOC, joking, laughing.
- 17:15Speaker 1: This is while the names are being read of those
- 17:17Speaker 1: lost on 9-11. A horrible moment. But I'm still telling
- 17:22Speaker 1: you this is deliberate. He does these things deliberately. whenever
- 17:26Speaker 1: he has to do something noble, whenever he has to
- 17:28Speaker 1: do the right thing. I remember he signed that legislation
- 17:31Speaker 1: to fight terrorism. Looked like he was doing something good.
- 17:36Speaker 1: But then he hands the pen to the lawyer for
- 17:39Speaker 1: the terrorists. So he always does this. If he has
- 17:42Speaker 1: to do something good, he does it. But he quietly,
- 17:46Speaker 1: or not so quietly, sends a signal to his base
- 17:48Speaker 1: that he's not really in this. Don't worry, I'm still me.
- 17:53Speaker 1: And normally when you sign a piece of legislation, You
- 17:57Speaker 1: use five or six or ten pens. You use a
- 17:59Speaker 1: whole bunch of pens and you pass them out to
- 18:01Speaker 1: everybody that's there. The police commissioner, the deputy, you give
- 18:05Speaker 1: them out to everybody. But this time there was only
- 18:08Speaker 1: one pen and he gave it to the terrorist lawyer.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So that was a signal to his base. Don't worry.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Don't really believe in this and I'm still with you.
- 18:17Speaker 1: So the same thing with laughing at 9-11. Same thing there.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Letting his base know he's not really into this. And
- 18:27Speaker 1: the other thing is what kind of ego does this
- 18:29Speaker 1: guy have? You know, the president of the United States,
- 18:31Speaker 1: when he signs the biggest bill in the world, uses
- 18:34Speaker 1: a bunch of pens and he hands these pens out
- 18:36Speaker 1: to people and they cherish them and display them forever.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Here's a pen from the president of the United States
- 18:43Speaker 1: when he signed the great, why would Mamdani think anybody
- 18:47Speaker 1: wants a pen from him? Why would anybody think in
- 18:50Speaker 1: 10 years, anybody will remember this guy? Uh, Can you
- 18:54Speaker 1: imagine going to somebody's house? I have a pen from
- 18:56Speaker 1: Mom Donnie. Look at this. This is the pen Mom
- 18:59Speaker 1: Donnie used to sign a bill. What bill? I don't
- 19:05Speaker 1: remember what bill it was, but this is Mom Donnie's pen.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Put it up on eBay. Say you got Mom Donnie's pen.
- 19:13Speaker 1: See how much you get for it. I don't think
- 19:14Speaker 1: you'll do that well. President Trump was asked about them
- 19:17Speaker 1: laughing at the ceremony. All right, I'm sorry. We can't
- 19:36Speaker 1: seem to explain to these reporters. Don't ask questions when
- 19:38Speaker 1: he's on the plane in the back right next to
- 19:40Speaker 1: the engine, and we can't hear a damn thing. And
- 19:43Speaker 1: by the way, that's the, not the regular Air Force one,
- 19:46Speaker 1: that's the big flying palace, the one that Cutter gave
- 19:49Speaker 1: to him, which means even bigger engines, and you can't
- 19:54Speaker 1: hear anything he's saying. So, you know, the big question
- 19:58Speaker 1: with these shopping malls, retail is dying. You see it
- 20:01Speaker 1: all the time. You walk up Madison Avenue, Fifth Avenue,
- 20:04Speaker 1: you see stores are closing, and people are still buying stuff.
- 20:07Speaker 1: They just buy it online, obviously, yeah. People buy everything
- 20:11Speaker 1: in the world on Amazon. But even if it's a
- 20:13Speaker 1: top department store, even if it's Saks or Bloomingdale's, people
- 20:20Speaker 1: buy most of the stuff from there online now. You know,
- 20:23Speaker 1: they're going to look. You've got to try something on.
- 20:24Speaker 1: But they buy a lot of it online. So you
- 20:27Speaker 1: don't need as much retail. And then affected the most
- 20:30Speaker 1: by this are the shopping malls, the big malls, especially
- 20:33Speaker 1: the indoor malls. They're just not busy like they used
- 20:37Speaker 1: to be. You know, you remember you used to have
- 20:38Speaker 1: to drive around for an hour to find a parking place. Now,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you can park anywhere. A lot of these malls are
- 20:44Speaker 1: just quiet. They just don't have the business, the traffic anymore.
- 20:48Speaker 1: You still get the senior citizens who come to exercise.
- 20:51Speaker 1: You know, they got those big, huge, white, New Balance sneakers,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and they just walk inside the mall. So this $ 100
- 20:58Speaker 1: million shopping mall is basically just a treadmill for some
- 21:02Speaker 1: senior citizens. But What are you going to do with
- 21:04Speaker 1: these malls? So the plan was from a lot of
- 21:06Speaker 1: the top mall companies that they would convert them because
- 21:11Speaker 1: they see senior citizens in there all the time to
- 21:14Speaker 1: like places for senior citizens. You know, you put in
- 21:17Speaker 1: doctor's offices, you put in a movie theater, you put
- 21:20Speaker 1: in a bunch of restaurants. It's not about shopping. It's
- 21:23Speaker 1: about like an amusement park for seniors. And again, second floor,
- 21:28Speaker 1: a lot of doctor's offices, first floor, movie theaters, you know,
- 21:32Speaker 1: things to do. But there's one mall at Manchester, Connecticut,
- 21:36Speaker 1: Buckland Hills Mall. It's a big mall. So they're doing
- 21:40Speaker 1: kind of the same thing, but for younger people. It's
- 21:43Speaker 1: a huge mall, 80,000 square feet. So they're putting in
- 21:46Speaker 1: an entertainment complex, but it's more for younger people, kids
- 21:50Speaker 1: and younger people. It's going to be the ALI Dreamland
- 21:54Speaker 1: Apex Adventure Park. It'll be half the mall, 40,000 square feet.
- 22:00Speaker 1: It's mostly a younger crowd. They're going to have party facilities,
- 22:02Speaker 1: soft play areas, climbing apparatus, slides, bumper cars, a cart track.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So 40,000 square feet, that'd be half the mall. And,
- 22:13Speaker 1: you know, these people are there all day. And then
- 22:15Speaker 1: the other half, you put in restaurants, cafes, you put
- 22:17Speaker 1: in food courts, all of that stuff. So that's basically
- 22:21Speaker 1: the plan. You either do it for seniors, you do
- 22:23Speaker 1: it for young people, but you got these enormous malls,
- 22:26Speaker 1: a lot of acres. With a huge parking lot. So
- 22:32Speaker 1: that's basically what's going to happen to all of them eventually.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, these two out-of-work idiots who don't
- 22:39Speaker 1: know what the hell to do with themselves. Can't get
- 22:41Speaker 1: anybody to pay attention here. So they give up after
- 22:44Speaker 1: a few years. They go to England. As soon as
- 22:46Speaker 1: they get there, the king puts out a letter saying
- 22:49Speaker 1: they have nothing to do with the royal family. They're
- 22:51Speaker 1: not royals. They are private citizens. Basically a letter saying
- 22:55Speaker 1: to everybody, don't do anything for them. Stay the hell
- 22:57Speaker 1: away from them. So what do they do? I don't know.
- 23:01Speaker 1: So over the weekend, Megan, all over social media, posting
- 23:05Speaker 1: video pictures of what they're doing. Here's one of them
- 23:10Speaker 1: taking a walk in the woods. Here's one of their
- 23:13Speaker 1: daughter riding a bike down a bike path. Here's one
- 23:17Speaker 1: of Harry and the kids fishing. I don't know why
- 23:21Speaker 1: we're supposed to look at this. It doesn't look that exciting.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Go to Connecticut and see people doing this stuff. I
- 23:27Speaker 1: don't need to see them doing it. but they don't
- 23:31Speaker 1: know what to do with themselves. They have no idea
- 23:33Speaker 1: what to do with themselves. The kids are in school now.
- 23:36Speaker 1: End of the school year, expect them to move somewhere else,
- 23:39Speaker 1: looking for someplace where somebody will give them a job
- 23:42Speaker 1: or at least pay attention to them. Hey, we've got
- 23:44Speaker 1: a lot to get to. Don't go away. We'll take
- 23:46Speaker 1: some calls a little later. Hey, we'll take some calls
- 23:50Speaker 1: in a minute. 800-321-0710 is the number. Hey, they are
- 23:52Speaker 1: going to name the airport in Nashville, Tennessee today. After
- 23:58Speaker 1: Dolly Parton, the vote was unanimous. So it will become
- 24:03Speaker 1: the Dolly Parton International Airport. Very unusual. No matter how
- 24:09Speaker 1: big a star you are, it's very unusual to have
- 24:10Speaker 1: an airport named after you. There's a Bob Hope Airport
- 24:15Speaker 1: in California. Liverpool has a John Lennon Airport. But a
- 24:23Speaker 1: lot of politicians, of course, there's a George Bush Airport
- 24:25Speaker 1: in Houston. Gerald Ford Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Little Rock,
- 24:31Speaker 1: it's the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport. Now, I
- 24:35Speaker 1: can understand the Bill Clinton National Airport. How does Hillary
- 24:38Speaker 1: get her name in there? I guess they're a little
- 24:40Speaker 1: afraid of her down there. So, of course, there's Kennedy Airport.
- 24:43Speaker 1: There's Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield. There's Reagan Airport. Now,
- 24:50Speaker 1: there's a Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach,
- 24:54Speaker 1: the Palm Beach Airport, wonderful airport. easiest one to get
- 24:58Speaker 1: in and out of is now the President Donald J.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Trump International Airport, forcing, I'm not kidding about this, forcing
- 25:05Speaker 1: a lot of left-wingers to not fly there, even if
- 25:09Speaker 1: they live there, instead going to the Fort Lauderdale Airport,
- 25:13Speaker 1: even the Miami Airport, just because they don't want to
- 25:16Speaker 1: go through the Donald Trump Airport. I'm trying to look
- 25:20Speaker 1: at the list here.
- 25:21Speaker 4: There's a lot of.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Airports that shouldn't be named after them. In Vermont, there's
- 25:24Speaker 1: a Patrick Leahy International Airport. He was the dirtiest, sleaziest senator.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Same thing in Las Vegas. You got the Harry Reid
- 25:31Speaker 1: International Airport. Such a dirty, sleazy guy. I'm looking at
- 25:37Speaker 1: all these names. Now, there's not a lot of celebrity names.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So highly unusual. As I said, there's a Bob Hope
- 25:42Speaker 1: Airport in Burbank, California. That's very unusual. John Glenn Airport.
- 25:51Speaker 1: But just show business celebrities, that's the tiniest list in
- 25:55Speaker 1: the world. Anyway, let's take some calls. Let's go to
- 25:58Speaker 1: Charles in Miller Place. Charles, how are you doing?
- 26:02Speaker 3: Hi, Mark.
- 26:02Speaker 4: How are you?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Good.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Good. I was at the St.
- 26:06Speaker 6: James Theater yesterday and I saw a Titanic. And they
- 26:11Speaker 6: put in a derogatory line about the $ 5, 000 check from
- 26:14Speaker 6: Donald Trump in the play.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Really?
- 26:18Speaker 1: Now, you're talking about the show. It's Titanic. But what
- 26:20Speaker 1: do they call it?
- 26:21Speaker 4: Titanic?
- 26:21Speaker 3: Titanic.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Titanic.
- 26:23Speaker 1: It's funny.
- 26:25Speaker 6: It's very funny. Jim Parsons is in it. He's hard
- 26:27Speaker 6: to watch. He's like watching someone on the spectrum dance
- 26:30Speaker 6: around the stage, but he was very funny.
- 26:33Speaker 1: All right. Well, that's okay. They do that in Broadway.
- 26:36Speaker 1: They're all left-wing. The Broadway crowd from the people on
- 26:39Speaker 1: stage to the producers, they're very, very, very left-wing. They
- 26:43Speaker 1: all have Trump derangement syndrome. They don't realize when they
- 26:46Speaker 1: put this stuff in the show, 96% of the Broadway
- 26:49Speaker 1: crowd are from out of town, You know, they're from
- 26:51Speaker 1: the heartland. They're from the Midwest. They're not into this
- 26:54Speaker 1: Trump derangement syndrome. So it kind of annoys the crowd.
- 26:58Speaker 1: But they don't care. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 27:01Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Yes, Mike.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Another point about the president's promise of a $ 5, 000 dividend,
- 27:09Speaker 2: as he puts it. is I know the Kristen Welkers
- 27:13Speaker 2: and that ilk never call out any of the people
- 27:16Speaker 2: advocating for reparations. They never have Kathy Hochul or Gavin
- 27:20Speaker 2: Newsom on, you know, questioning them. How are you going
- 27:24Speaker 2: to pay for it? Not to mention that trillions have
- 27:26Speaker 2: been spent basically since the LBJ Great Society on, you know,
- 27:31Speaker 2: what anybody else would call reparations.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Kristen Welker, totally corrupt. Sunday shows, totally corrupt. Yeah, it's
- 27:38Speaker 1: like with Obama with his... Not the phones, but Biden
- 27:41Speaker 1: with the student loans. But not one of these hosts
- 27:46Speaker 1: ever said to Biden, how do you have any authority
- 27:49Speaker 1: to forgive a student loan? How on earth can you?
- 27:51Speaker 1: Nobody questioned him on it.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Or free health care. Obamacare is free health care for everybody,
- 27:56Speaker 2: even though people still are uninsured, nevertheless. By the way,
- 28:01Speaker 2: did he notice that Art Garfunkel said he's going to
- 28:03Speaker 2: leave the country? I didn't know.
- 28:05Speaker 1: He was still in the country. That's the problem, isn't it?
- 28:08Speaker 1: I didn't know the guy was still alive, but okay. Yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 1: we'll get to that coming up. Art Garfunkel. Don't get upset, everybody.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Art Garfunkel is leaving the country.
- 28:18Speaker 2: The more forgotten they are, the more strident they are
- 28:21Speaker 2: about leaving.
- 28:22Speaker 4: It's incredible.
- 28:23Speaker 1: It's a pretty funny story. We'll get to that coming up.
- 28:25Speaker 1: But thanks for calling, Mike. Let's go to Mike in Brooklyn. Mike,
- 28:30Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 28:31Speaker 3: Hey, good morning, Mark. How are you?
- 28:33Speaker 5: Good.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Good, Mark. Did you see on Friday at the Yankees-Mets
- 28:37Speaker 3: game some lunatic ran out with a free Palestine flag
- 28:40Speaker 3: at exactly 9-11? How do you stop these people, Mark?
- 28:44Speaker 1: Well, listen, you've always had that. There's always people running
- 28:48Speaker 1: out in the field in the game with some banner,
- 28:49Speaker 1: some crazy thing, some whatever. It always happens. It's nothing new.
- 28:54Speaker 1: This time it was a Palestinian flag, but it would
- 28:57Speaker 1: have been a Black Lives Matter flag. They're always running
- 29:00Speaker 1: on the field. They always get tackled. carried away. They're
- 29:03Speaker 1: very careful not to show it on TV, not to
- 29:06Speaker 1: give any publicity to the person. However, the next day,
- 29:09Speaker 1: the picture's everywhere, so what's the difference? The greatest one,
- 29:13Speaker 1: remember years ago, a protester jumped on the field, grabbed
- 29:19Speaker 1: the American flag. He was going to do something with
- 29:21Speaker 1: the American flag. And remember, who was the great Los
- 29:23Speaker 1: Angeles Dodger who tackled him as he was running? Rick Monday.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 1: He was running around the field. The security was Trying
- 29:32Speaker 1: to get there, but Rick Mundy just threw the guy
- 29:34Speaker 1: to the ground. It always happens. Let's go to Rich
- 29:38Speaker 1: Myrtle Beach. Rich, how you doing?
- 29:39Speaker 4: Hey, thanks, Mark. Hot down here.
- 29:42Speaker 2: 100 degrees already.
- 29:43Speaker 1: What the hell are you leaving New York for going
- 29:46Speaker 1: to Myrtle Beach?
- 29:48Speaker 4: Well, because of the lunatics. The lunatics are running the asylum.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Chuck Schumer, AOC. I mean, you know, Cuomo. I got
- 29:56Speaker 4: out of there in 2014.
- 29:56Speaker 3: It was already....
- 29:59Speaker 4: If Blakeman doesn't win this year, and I'm getting off
- 30:01Speaker 4: my point, but if Blakeman doesn't win this year, you
- 30:03Speaker 4: will never see a Republican governor in that state again.
- 30:06Speaker 4: It'll be California. It is lost. But you're speaking about
- 30:09Speaker 4: annoying crowds. I hope everybody's going to tune in for
- 30:12Speaker 4: the Emmys tonight. You talk about an annoying crowd, you
- 30:15Speaker 4: got the Emmys on tonight, you know?
- 30:17Speaker 1: I don't think anybody has seen the Emmy Awards in
- 30:19Speaker 1: 10 years. Nobody even knows it's on. Nobody.
- 30:24Speaker 4: And by the way, Mark, gas has hit $ 4 in
- 30:28Speaker 4: Myrtle Beach, which is killing this tourist town here. It's
- 30:30Speaker 4: got to start going down or we're going to lose
- 30:32Speaker 4: the midterms.
- 30:33Speaker 1: No, it may not affect the midterms. But if that
- 30:36Speaker 1: were the case, you wouldn't see Democrats trying to gin
- 30:39Speaker 1: up the AI issue for the midterms. But yeah, the
- 30:43Speaker 1: Emmy Awards, you see, years ago, we all watched the
- 30:46Speaker 1: same show. So you Look at the Emmy Awards and
- 30:49Speaker 1: nominated are Seinfeld, Cheers, Roseanne. We all knew these shows. Now,
- 30:56Speaker 1: nobody knows what these shows are because everybody watches a
- 30:59Speaker 1: different show. Some people, they all tell you, have you
- 31:02Speaker 1: seen Tuesday Vacation?
- 31:06Speaker 4: No.
- 31:07Speaker 1: What's that? Oh, you know what? You've got to watch it.
- 31:09Speaker 1: It's on Paramount. Or they tell you about another show.
- 31:11Speaker 1: And this is on Netflix. This is on that. Nobody's
- 31:14Speaker 1: watching the same show. Well, watch the Emmys tonight. You
- 31:17Speaker 1: won't know 90% of the shows. Let's go to Vince,
- 31:20Speaker 1: Fort Pierce, Florida. Vince, how you doing?
- 31:23Speaker 3: Yeah, good morning, Mark. Last night was the Giants season opener.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Pretty good, wasn't it? I'm sure you remember.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Excellent. But the Giants quarterback, Jackson Dart, was a rookie,
- 31:32Speaker 3: and last spring he introduced Donald Trump. Yeah. And the
- 31:35Speaker 3: world had an explosion. His teammate, Abdul Carter, went public
- 31:40Speaker 3: and made some nasty comments, and it's It caused a
- 31:43Speaker 3: lot of controversy, and they were all saying, oh, this
- 31:46Speaker 3: kid's not going to do well. He's hurting his game. Well,
- 31:49Speaker 3: he had an excellent game. He threw three touchdown passes,
- 31:52Speaker 3: ran for 50 yards. On the other hand, Abdul Carter had,
- 31:55Speaker 3: I think, maybe one or two tackles, didn't do anything.
- 31:58Speaker 3: So I'm recommending Abdul Carter go to the next Trump
- 32:02Speaker 3: rally to help improve his game because it worked for
- 32:04Speaker 3: Jackson Dart.
- 32:06Speaker 1: All right, and don't hold your breath on that. But, yeah,
- 32:09Speaker 1: I don't know. Football players, just play football. We don't
- 32:14Speaker 1: need your opinion on anything political. Same thing for Art Garfunkel.
- 32:17Speaker 1: We'll get to him coming up. He's just the silliest
- 32:20Speaker 1: guy in the world. So a lot to get to.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Don't forget the show is three hours every day now,
- 32:25Speaker 1: nine to noon.
