Transcript
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: My name is Mickey.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I am your host.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: And today joining me is my hope, my co-host Bethany.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: And we are going to talk to you about the Word of God.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: And that's what this podcast is about is talking about the truth.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: And honestly, where do we get the truth?
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: We get that in the Bible.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times we lean on other avenues, other sources for um information like Google or AI or whatever.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: But we want to encourage you to just get the Bible, get it in your hand, open it up, and that way you have the actual truth.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: And honestly, if you compare that to everything else, um you won't you won't be led astray.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Everything else kind of takes you on its own path.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Even um Bethany and I, if you just listen just to us and we, you know, don't share God's word with you, um, we could we could lead you the wrong way if we don't stick in the word of God.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: We want to share the truth with you.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: And so we're gonna dive back into uh where we left off.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: This is part three of a series that we started on forgiveness.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: And the question is why forgiveness?
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Why do we need it?
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: So let's say hello to Bethany.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: We're gonna have her jump in here and she'll give us a recap of um the first two episodes and we will get going on today's scripture.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: So good morning, Bethany.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: How are you?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Yes, um, so part one and part two.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Part one, we started out by talking about why do we need forgiveness?
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: And I personally believe that there are so many people who are asking, well, why?
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Why do we need forgiveness?
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: And to answer that, we went all the way back to Genesis, and before Genesis 3.6, there was no need for forgiveness because there was no sin.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: And yet, Genesis 3.6 started that need for forgiveness, and so in part one, we talked about that.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: We talked about how Jesus freely forgets, God freely forgets, and then in part two, we talked about the importance of forgiving each other, and why that is so important, because there are verses in the Bible that talk about that if we don't forgive one another, God won't forgive us, and so just part two was the importance of that, the importance of forgiving one another.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: And now part three and part four are encouragement, especially if you feel like well, I don't I don't know if I'm really forgiven, or you know, I don't I don't feel like I'm saved or anything like that.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Part part three and part four of this series are for you to encourage you and to uplift you and to help you to understand that God does forgive, He forgives completely, and I am so excited for every one of these episodes that we do, but especially for today's episode and the next episode, because Mick and I both want to do our best to encourage you from God's word that if you have repented of your sins, if you have received Jesus Christ as Savior, you are forgiven.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: There's no question about it, and so whenever Satan would come and tempt you to think otherwise, please don't give in to those temptations, and so I will pray and we will get into this episode.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: And if you have a physical Bible, please get it right now.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: If you have a pen and paper, please get that right now, because I guarantee you, you will want to write down something, you will want to underline or highlight something in the Bible, and so before we get into the scripture, let's pray, dear Lord.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: I thank you once again for being here for speaking through making Lord.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: We would be foolish not to do this without you to do this without you.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And so Lord, we pray that you would take control, just speak to us, Lord.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: You know what our listeners need, you know what you want to give each one of them.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: And so I thank you for what you will do during this time.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: In Jesus' name, amen.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: So we are going to start today by looking at Psalm 103 and a few of those verses in that chapter.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: So if you have your Bible open to Psalm 103, if you do not have a Bible, um Biblegateway.com is a great resource to follow along.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: So and that will be in the show notes, the link to Biblegateway dot com.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: But Psalm 103.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Starting in verse two.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: Verse 2.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Verse three, who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: No.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: I would like you to underline or highlight or circle the word all in verse three.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: When it says forgive it all thine iniquities.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Everyone, every one of your iniquities.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Forgiven.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: If you confess them.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: You're forgiven.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Now go down to verse twelve.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: I love this verse.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: It's so descriptive.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: It's so encouraging.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: As far as he's from the West.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: So far as he removed are transgressions from him.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: I mean as far as the east is from the west.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Have you ever thought why that verse can't say from north to south?
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Because saying from north to south would be a limit.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Because there is a point where you can go so far south that you start going north again.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Or you go so far north that you go south.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: But with east to west, there's no limit.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: You can go as far east as you want and never go west.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Or you can go so far west as you want and never go east.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Now, yes, if you stop and you turn around, then you are either going east or west.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: But if you stay in the direction that you're going, you will never go.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: The opposite.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: I don't know if that made sense.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: Um but thinking of that in relationship to how far God removes our transgressions from us again if we confess them.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: That alone should be encouragement.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: And I would encourage you to write out that verse.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Write out verse 12.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Put it somewhere where you see it every day.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Or open your Bible and read it every day.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: So that you're encouraged by it.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: And then verse 17.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Verse 17 says, But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Upon that fear and his righteousness unto children's children.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: That's another encouragement.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: From everlasting to everlasting.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: God's mercy.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: From everlasting to everlasting.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, do you have thoughts on these verses?
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just want to touch base on um, you know, Psalms 103 is such a powerful chapter.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: And um it's very encouraging to know that God wants us to have all of the benefits that He has for us, just like He has, He wants us to have all the promises in the Bible.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: His benefits are the same.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Um, He wants to heal us from our diseases, He wants to forgive us of our inequities.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: And I love what it says in 12, when it says, So far hath He removed our transgressions.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: So a lot of times when we think about forgiveness, and we think about when we mess up our, you know, you know, the the the term, you know, if you if you mess up, fess up, right?
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: So you fess up, but what do we do?
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: We don't let go.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: We don't we hold on to it, we don't believe.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: And his scripture right there in 12 says he has removed it, it's gone.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: If something's removed, it's no longer.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: And he does that for our transgressions.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: So why do we why do we hang on to um unforgiveness and thinking that God did not forgive us when he says he forgave us?
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: So I love that the scripture makes it very clear.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: It is removed, it says it right here.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: It's not there, it's no longer there, it's gone.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: And I love that he confirms, you know, those thoughts that the enemy likes to try to um tantalize us with.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: He removes those thoughts because he's very clear in what he's saying in the word.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: And he's removed all of that from us.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: We need to not be tempted, like you said, by the enemy and not listen to those lies and know that we really are forgiven.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: We're saved, we're forgiven.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Those are two things that we are that are for sure.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: If if if we've prayed and asked God to come into our heart, we asked him to, we repented and asked him to forgive us of our sins, we are forgiven.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: It's removed.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Everything from that conversation that you have with the Lord to your past, from there to birth.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: That's why they call it a new birth, a rebirth, because that that old part is dead and gone.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: It's removed.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: The new is here.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: We're the new man once we've been saved.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Now, that doesn't mean we're not going to make mistakes or fail.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: We're gonna mess up, we're gonna sin until we die, unfortunately.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: There's no getting out of sin.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, we could just lock ourselves in a bubble, we might be able to get away with it, but I don't think so.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's plausible.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: But again, as long as we confess it and we repent, he removes it.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: It's gone.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: And like you said, it's gone from where?
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: From as far as the east is from the west.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: There's no there's no going back to it.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: God's not the one who returns.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: We're the ones that return to that.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: And so I the scripture's really, really good and really strong.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: And um, I also love that it says from everlasting to everlasting.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: So from this sin until you sin again, that sin is already gone.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: It's gone everlasting.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: You sin again, you repent, now that sin's gone for everlasting.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: We're not dogpiling up our sins.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: We are if we're not asking for forgiveness and we're not saved.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: So if you want to be free from that sin, be encouraged.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: That all you need to do is be saved and ask God to forgive you, and he's going to remove them.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: And you have to trust and believe that he is and that he does.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: No matter what anybody else says to you, sometimes we we are our worst our worst enemy, or we lean on what other people say to us because they don't want to forgive us.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: So we automatically think because they don't want to forgive us, why would God forgive us?
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: Well, God's not a human being, he's supernatural, he's omnipotent.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: There is there's something so much more greater and more powerful to God than any of us could ever fathom being.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: So when he says it, we need to believe it.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: If we don't believe it, then we're a mockery of his word.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: We're mocking what he's saying.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: We're saying, no, we're not gonna believe that because you know we just don't believe it.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Well, no, you you gotta believe it.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: It says it really, it's really clear as far as the east from the west.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: So far, hath he removed our transgressions.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: And from when?
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: From everlasting to everlasting.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: It's never gonna come back.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: And so we just have to walk in his his righteousness.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: And and then if we mess up, we fess up and then we we we we move on.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And I love that, and it encourages me because sometimes I used to think, man, there's no way God could God God could ever forgive me for some of the stupid things I've done in my life.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: But he looks at it the same way.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Well, it was just something stupid you did in your life.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: Now get over it.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: We're done.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Move on, you know.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: But we beat ourselves up.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: We beat ourselves up, and we don't have to do that.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: We can walk in the graciousness of his freedom because he is so merciful and loving and kind.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want us to walk around beating ourselves up.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Now, the enemy, on the other hand, would love for you to torture yourself because the enemy is nothing but torture.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: That's all he is.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: So if you're feeling tortured by your sin, you're speaking to the wrong spirit.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: And you need to speak to the Holy Spirit, you need to speak to God, and you need to rebuke the enemy if you are beating yourself up and not believing that that sin is removed when you've asked for forgiveness.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: That is a wicked, wicked enemy that you're fighting against.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: So I just want to encourage you in that.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: That this is this is this is good news.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: This is like here in the, you know, when you talk about the gospels and it gets excited, and you're like, what's so exciting about the gospel?
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: He took my sin away.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: All those stupid things I did.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: He removed them from me.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: I don't have to carry all that baggage around anymore.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: The dump truck has been dumped, you know, and we can we can just go freely, you know.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: And and and it's exciting for me.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited to to continue on as I know we have some more scripture to look at, but I I hope that's encouraging.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: Like you said, this is gonna be an encouraging lesson.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: And I I I want all of our listeners to feel, I want you to feel, you know, kind of like almost like you when you like when you shed five pounds and you just feel lighter.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: I want you to feel lighter after this episode because it's so encouraging.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: And it's also as we as we continue on, Bethany.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, that that's so great.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Um, just feeling lighter, feeling a weight lifted off.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Um yeah.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: So now the next scripture we're gonna look at is in Isaiah, and the book of Isaiah has so many wonderful, powerful verses that we need to be mindful of.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: We need to be remembering again.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: I am big on encouraging people to write out verses, to put them somewhere where you see them every day.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Yes, they will always be in the Bible, always, they're not going anywhere, but how often do we intentionally pick up the Bible, open it up to the scriptures that will encourage and empower and strengthen us?
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: And so Isaiah chapter 43.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Starting with verse 16, just to give a context of who is speaking.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so verse 16, Isaiah 43.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Thus said the Lord, which made it away in the sea, in a pass in the mighty waters, and then go down to verse 25.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Verse 25, such a good verse.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Verse 25 says, I, even I, am he that.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake and will remember them sorry and will not remember their sins.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: So the verse again, I even I am he that blotted out thy transgressions for mine own sake and will not remember thy sins.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: If there's a verse that you should have like in front of you your eyes constantly.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: I think verse twenty-five is one of those verses.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: Because what does it say?
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: Not only does it say that he blots out our transgressions, but it also says for mine own sake, and it also says and will not remember thy sins.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: Um how much more powerful can a verse be?
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Really, when you consider the forgiveness of sins.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: Um we tend to believe Satan when he comes to us and tries to remind us of our sins, tries to remind us of what we've already confessed.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: He's like, Oh, did you really?
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: No.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: Just wait.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Where have you heard that type of question before?
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Back in Genesis three when a serpent embodied by Satan came to Eve and said, Yea, as God said.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: Did God really say?
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Mickey, what are your thoughts?
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: Because I'm I'm very encouraged by this verse.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, I agree.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: I think it's it's it's another powerful verse like like the once in Psalm.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: But again, and I know that we're going to emphasize this a lot in this episode, because I really truly honestly believe in my heart that we lack we lack the ability or we don't trust God fully enough to believe in his word to to the extent as to what it's saying.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: And a couple of things with that is some of that, I think we continue in the sin because we think, well, well, I've already sinned, I've already done it.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: I might as well just keep doing it because I'm not forgiven for it.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: I can't, you know, I'm not if I'm not gonna be forgiven for it, might as well keep doing it.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Wrong answer.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: That's the wrong answer.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Again, that's the enemy speaking lies into you, going, yeah, keep doing that, keep doing that, keep doing that.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: You don't need to ask for sin because God's not going to forgive you anyway.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: The scripture is so clear, and I love how powerful it is.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: And yet we don't take it at face value.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: We really don't.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: And it's and I'm glad that we're talking about it because it's important that we understand.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: It says, and will not remember thy sins.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: Not well, if you do it again, then I'm gonna bring up the sin that you already done.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: Or I'm gonna, you know, I'm I'm I've got a whole binder over here with everything, you know, I'm keeping tabs, or you know, I'm putting it all in the storehouse.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: What whatever we think God is doing, he's not doing that.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: Why do we put God in a box and we start thinking that he's doing something that his word clearly says he's not?
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: We do that.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: And I call it stinking thinking.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: When the enemy gets in there, we start our stink, our thinking becomes stinking.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: And it's like we need to stop doing that because we cannot, and I'm gonna say this very clearly we cannot walk in God's freedom if we continue to think that way.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: You will stay in hostage, basically, to the enemy and not walk in God's freedom that he has for us, all of the benefits he talked about in Psalms, those benefits that he has for us, we will not be able to obtain them if we keep ourselves locked in bondage to the enemy.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: If there is something that you are struggling with or dealing with, or whether you're angry, frustrated, mad, sad, what whatever it is, whatever it is, somebody hurt your feelings.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: Somebody said something that you, you know, really offended you, or or and and maybe they were wrong, and maybe they were right.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: You know, we all have our own thoughts on things too, which is okay.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: We are allowed to be a human being.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: And and it and it's often that people hurt one another with our words.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Words are sharper than any two-edged sword, it says.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: Our words are powerful and they cut deep.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: And if we're hanging on to that, nine times out of ten, they've already forgotten it.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: And we're the ones holding on to it, and we're being miserable, and we're making everyone else around us miserable because we can't get out of it, we can't get away from it.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: We're just sitting in it.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: It's like being in a swamp, you can't get out, you know, and and so you need to take the scripture and and and if you have to say it to yourself five times a day, over and over and over again, it says, and will not remember thy sins.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: They're blotted out.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: His transgress, you know, he blots out those the thy transgressions for my own sake.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Okay, he doesn't hold grudges.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: We are the ones that do that.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: We allow other people's judgment to keep us in bondage.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: You don't have to answer to those people at the end of the day, you have to answer to God.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: And when it comes to judgment day, those people are gonna be nowhere around.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: They're gonna be sitting there waiting for their own judgment themselves.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: So think about that.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: They're gonna have to answer for God too, to answer to God too for it if they're not forgiven.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: I honestly believe on judgment day, the things that we are going to have to answer to God for are the things that we did not ask for forgiveness for.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: He wants to forgive us, and when we do ask, he doesn't remember it, it's gone.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: It's it's such a great thing, it's so wonderful.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: And yet we hold it over ourselves, we hold it over other people that we love.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: If you love your your family and your friends, and if you love people in general, I I kind of just I gravitate to just people, whatever.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: And you know, I try I just try to be, I try to be loving kind.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: I'm not always, I'm not a hundred percent.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: I have bad days too.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: I get, you know, I have mood swings, and you know, I'm not always, you know, butterflies and rainbows, but I'm telling you right now, you know, this should make you feel so much joy.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: It makes me feel very joyful and happy and like, you know, and you know, and when I worship God, it it just this is one of the reasons I worship God.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: Because I know as messed up as I can be in the things that I've done in my life and the times that I've told myself I did not deserve forgiveness, God said, I forgave you already, and I don't even remember.
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: So, what are you doing to yourself?
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: Why are you doing this to yourself?
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Get over it, get on with it.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean I've heard so many people say this, and Bethany, I you know, maybe you could touch base on this.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: I've heard people say, and I've said it, I'm guilty.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: I don't say it anymore.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: God convicted my heart.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: We don't get to tell people, I forgive you, but I'm not gonna forget it.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: What does God do?
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: He doesn't remember it, so why are we?
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: So I got convicted over that, my own conviction, because of this scripture right here.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: This scripture right here convicted my heart because I would say, you know, I can forgive you for that, but I'm not gonna forget it.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: So don't ever let it happen again, you know, kind of attitude.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: And even if they do do it again, or you know, even if it's an un you know, not even intentional, I'm hanging on to it, but God's already let it go.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: But you know what that is?
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: It's not true forgiveness because you're putting a stipulation to it, you're attaching.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: Well, let me add this little bit of an agreement to my forgiveness.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, God doesn't have an agreement, He just forgives you.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: The agreement was settled on the cross, you guys.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: It was finished.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Why can we not soak?
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: We need to soak this in, like literally soak it and soak it and soak it until it becomes evident in our lives.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: Then we will be so much happier.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Yes, we will walk in so much freedom, and we won't be so miserable.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: I see people every day, like I mentioned in the last episode, how miserable people are.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: And it actually makes me sad.
- 32:46SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: When I see people and they just look just miserable.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: And it's written all over them.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: They don't even have to say a word, and you can see their misery.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: I think to myself, I wonder what forgiveness he's dealing with.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: I wonder what what transgressions that he's he's hanging on to that God's probably already not even worried about, and he's worrying about it, or she's worrying about it.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: You know, we have to remember this scripture.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: It's important.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: Yes, and will not remember thy sins.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: It doesn't say I'm gonna hang on to it for the next time you pull, you know, pull that out of your hat, whatever.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: Let it go.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: Let it go.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: Give it to God.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: Literally, I had a lady do an illustration with me during a podcast.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna share this because it's very effective.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: And and I'm gonna share it because I think it's important.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: She had me think of a thought.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: So I want you guys to do this with me.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: Think of a thought.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: Think of something that you had a really hard time with that you needed forgiven for, and you just couldn't for you know, couldn't get over it.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: She said, envision yourself reaching into your mind, grabbing the thought and throwing it down, just throwing that thought down and then step on it.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: You stomp on it, shatter it, it's gone.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: If you envision that, and then think of this scripture and knowing that God doesn't remember it, it brings you so much peace and freedom.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: And and and taking your mind and and and doing that with your body and your soul and connecting all your your you know, your feelings and your emotions that we have, because we're attached.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: We are attached to our feelings and our emotions when we shouldn't be all the time.
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: So if you physically do this with yourself and you take that thought and you grab it and you throw it down and you stomp on it, you will feel so it's in it's invigorating, honestly.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: When she had me do it, I thought, wow, that was pretty powerful.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: I never would have thought to do that, you know?
- 34:45SPEAKER_00: And now I do it.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: Now when I have really bad thoughts come to my mind, I say, no, not today, Satan.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: That has to go away, you know.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: Even in sign language, this means go away, by the way, in sign language.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: So if you don't know that, you learn that today.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: Have it go away.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: Throw it away.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: You don't have to hang on to it anymore.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: When you throw the trash out, do you run back to the dump and find it?
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: So why are we doing this?
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: When we when we say that we forgive, we need to be letting it go.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: No stipulations.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: And there's no contract, no signed, sealed, and delivered contract to your forgiveness.
- 35:26SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: Because God says right here, He will not remember the sin.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: So why do we?
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: So I didn't mean to go on a tangent there, but it's so that like you said, Bethany, it is so powerful, and we are missing it.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: We're missing it.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: And in the world that we live in today, right now, it is just walking around in such a dark cloud.
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: You know, kind of like Eeyore with the cloud over the head with the little, you know, the woe is me kind of thing.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: And and I see people all the time, and it's so it's heartening because I want to go up and I want to shake them and be like, whatever it is you're hanging on to, just let it go.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: You know, get free.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, God wants to free us.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Jesus did it already, he gave us that freedom, but yet we don't we don't accept it.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: It's the greatest gift on earth, and we don't accept it.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: We have to take his word at face value.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: Every this is such a small piece of the scripture.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: There's thousands of words in the Bible, but yet it holds so much power.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: Yes, he does not remember your sins.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: So let it go.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: So that's my little that's my tangent for today, I think.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, do you what do you think on that, Bethany?
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: What are your thoughts?
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that that is so incredibly powerful to sit with for a while, more than just a few minutes and one of the other phrases in that verse for mine own sake.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: That's just as powerful as not forget not remembering you know, as as Mickey was talking there, the Lord brought to my mind James four, seven submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: But too often, and I'm guilty of it too.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Too often we take that verse backwards, too often we're submitting to the devil, to Satan, and we're resisting God, and this verse, Isaiah forty-three twenty-five, is a powerful example of that when we think about how we act when we're fighting whether or not we're truly forgiven after we know that we have confessed our sins and yet we still struggle.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: What if we remembered that every time we question if we're forgiven?
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: We think of James 4 7 and we think, okay, am I being obedient?
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: Am I submitting to God when I am constantly questioning whether or not I'm forgiven?
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: Or am I submitting to Satan to the devil?
- 40:18SPEAKER_01: And that to me, that gives me enough conviction that going forward I won't struggle with thoughts of oh, am I forgiven?
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: Am I really forgiven?
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Because for me, I know that when I give in to those thoughts, I'm submitting to Satan.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: And we don't want to be doing that, we don't want to be disobeying what God has said in his word.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: And that I truly believe struggling with forgiveness is one area where we submit to say and I'm not saying that to judge anyone because I yes, I've been guilty of it too.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: But I'm personally here to say for myself at least, that no more.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: No more am I going to struggle with those thoughts.
- 42:03SPEAKER_01: No more am I gonna give in to those because I know that when I confess sins God doesn't remember.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: God forgives them.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: He cleanses me from all unrighteousness for his own sake.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: Mickey, I feel like we should do a series on Isaiah forty three twenty-five because there there's so much power in it, and we have to wrap up this episode here, and I think the Holy Spirit is wanting us to wrap it up here just to allow people to sit, to think, to understand just the of these verses that we've already shared.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: And there's so many more that some we will be able to get to in the next step of stone, but some we won't be able to get to.
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: And that's okay.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: So Mickey, what are your thoughts on that?
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Want to continue.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: No, I agree with you.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: I think that it's a good place to finish for today because God wants us to sit and meditate on his word.
- 44:16SPEAKER_00: And I I agree.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: I think that if we if we do continue on with some of the other scripture, I know we have there's more scripture to go through, but we have a whole Bible of scripture to go through.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: But this scripture today, like you said, it's it's not only a great scripture, but it is pressing on my heart that we need to really sit and meditate on this scripture.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: This and Psalms, the Psalms 103, um, the 212 and 17.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: I I think those are you know great scriptures to just sit and meditate on and talk to God with.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: Figure out where you're at.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: When we are miserable, it makes God miserable, yeah.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: By the way.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's some things that I've held on to in my life, and I thought, why was I doing that?
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: And God had to convict me.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: This is one of the scriptures that convicted me in that area.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: Because if I can't trust in what God's saying, then who am I to tell people about God?
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: I can't trust in his word.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: I believe in God wholehearted wholeheartedly.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: And if you're a Christian, and if you say you're Christian and you're proclaiming to be a Christian, that means you're Christ-like.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: You follow Jesus, you believe in the word.
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: Are you remembering this scripture?
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: I know we all have work to do, we all have things that we need to work on.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: No one's perfect.
- 46:09SPEAKER_00: I'm not trying to beat anybody up with this.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: I want it to be encouraging, not a disappointment.
- 46:16SPEAKER_00: Don't be disappointed if you haven't done this, just be encouraged that you can do this going forward and know that you don't have to worry about it anymore.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: You can let it go.
- 46:28SPEAKER_00: And if they choose, if there's somebody that that's bothered you or hurt you and whatever, and if they choose not to let it go, let them be miserable.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: You don't have to be miserable with them.
- 46:40SPEAKER_00: And encourage them the same thing.
- 46:42unknown: Yeah.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: Try to encourage them.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: Hey, you don't have to keep sitting on this, it's over and done with.
- 46:48SPEAKER_00: Let's move on.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: And um God has so much purpose for our lives, but we can't fulfill the call on our life, especially a call on our life, if we're sitting on sin that we don't think we can be forgiven for, or if we're sitting on unforgiveness of other people.
- 47:10SPEAKER_00: We can't fulfill the call on our life if we're allowing that to be our roadblock.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: As soon as you get freedom from that, you're gonna see things open up.
- 47:21SPEAKER_00: God's gonna open up things for you, it's gonna show you things.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: But you have to trust in it, you have to believe in it, and you have to wholeheartedly understand that it's it's no longer.
- 47:34SPEAKER_00: The power in this verse is just it's so deep.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: You can't even, and sometimes it's even hard to fathom.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: Like, how could he just how could he possibly forgive me for all the things I've done wrong?
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm 54 years old, I've done a lot of things.
- 47:48SPEAKER_00: My friends, I've done, I've done some pretty stupid things in my lifetime.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: Um, but I'm not gonna keep beating myself up over it.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: I've had enough beatings from other people over it.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: You know, and you know, if they want to continue to beat me up, that's fine.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: But I know who my my who I put my trust in.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna put my trust in those people.
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: You can still love them and not trust them.
- 48:18SPEAKER_00: If they want to act like that or continue on with that.
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: But if look what God says, it's for his sake that he doesn't remember our sin.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: Because he wants us to be happy and live in joy.
- 48:30SPEAKER_00: He doesn't like to see us miserable.
- 48:33SPEAKER_00: It would make us miserable if it said, and I will, and I will, I will remember all your sin.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: That would make us terrible, terrify, terribly miserable and terrified.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: I would be terrified if he wrote those words.
- 48:44SPEAKER_00: I'd be like, oh boy, I'm in trouble.
- 48:47SPEAKER_00: Big trouble, you know, because sins, you know, we can think that sins add up, but not to God.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: They don't add up.
- 48:53SPEAKER_00: He's not running at a tally like a Christmas list.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: It's not a tally, it's no longer there.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: And he thinks we're foolish because we sit on it.
- 49:05SPEAKER_00: We're not wise doing that.
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: There's so much wisdom in this Bible, and and as simple as this scripture is, we we don't really take it for what it's what it says.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: And I it just makes me really sad.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: But so I agree with you, Bethany.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: I think that we should close up here.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: I think that um we should give our listeners a chance to just sit and meditate on the scripture today.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: And if you guys have questions, if you guys um want prayer, um Bethany and I will be glad to pray for you.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: I will put in the show notes um that um link to the Bible gateway.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: I will also include in there that if you're using your phone, like like I'm on, I have my I have an app on my phone.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: I have my Bible app on my phone.
- 49:54SPEAKER_00: I you I prefer you version because there's a lot of different types of Bibles on there.
- 50:02SPEAKER_00: And um I I I use King James version, but sometimes if someone is it will be saying something, I'll try to figure out what version they're using and try to cross-reference it with King James.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: But there's a lot of different things in in the Bible that you can use, and on your phone, you version, you can highlight all these scriptures we're talking about.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: I have them highlighted right now.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know if you guys can see it or not, probably not.
- 50:29SPEAKER_00: It's highlighted in blue and that lights on it.
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, you can highlight scripture in it.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: So you version is a good, but but you know what?
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: Having the physical word of God in your hand is a game changer for me.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: There's more connection, I feel, when you have the word in your hand than just something like electronic.
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: And then if you have the word of God in your hand, whatever buzz comes through, whatever notification, whatever, whatever, whatever comes in, you don't have that distraction.
- 50:58SPEAKER_00: You can set it aside, get the word of God, because nothing's gonna buzz you through the Bible more than God if you just set your phone aside.
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: Let's let God do the work.
- 51:07SPEAKER_00: Yes, He wants to.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: Yes, He did the work in creating you.
- 51:14SPEAKER_00: So let's just let's just focus on that um as we go into closing.
- 51:18SPEAKER_00: But um, Bethany, do you have anything you want to add to that?
- 51:20SPEAKER_00: And then we'll we'll end this episode.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: No, no, okay.
- 51:26SPEAKER_00: So um you guys you guys heard it here.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: Um, we want to talk about the truth.
- 51:30SPEAKER_00: That's what truth be told is all about.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: And um again, if you don't have a Bible, reach out.
- 51:37SPEAKER_00: Let me know.
- 51:38SPEAKER_00: If it, you know, we there's lots of places where you can get Bibles, even for free.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: They're not very expensive if you don't have one.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: There's but there's too many options out there and too many resources where you can find the word of God.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: People say, Oh, I don't have a Bible.
- 51:53SPEAKER_00: Well, do you have a phone?
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Well, well, then you have the Bible.
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: Do you have a computer?
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: Well, then you have the Bible.
- 51:59SPEAKER_00: You have the Word of God.
- 52:01SPEAKER_00: Write this scripture down, highlight it, meditate on it.
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: It's so good.
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: It's gonna change your life.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: It's gonna change your stinking thinking, it's gonna change how you feel, your emotions, everything.
- 52:17SPEAKER_00: If you want to get out of that pit, this is the way to do it.
- 52:22SPEAKER_00: Start here.
- 52:23SPEAKER_00: So I just want to thank everyone for being here.
- 52:25SPEAKER_00: Bethany, thank you for bringing the scripture today.
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: Great scripture.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: Um, lots of power.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: And um thank you guys for just tuning in, and we hope that you will continue to listen to the series.
- 52:38SPEAKER_00: We want to encourage you.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: We're not trying to, you know, fearmonger or you know, whip anybody or any of that.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: Jesus took all the whippings already.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: That's not where we're not here to do that.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: We're not here to scold you or or try to make you feel bad.
- 52:57SPEAKER_00: The enemy does that alone.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: The enemy is already having his way.
- 53:03SPEAKER_00: If Bethany and I had our way, we would just beat the heck out the old enemy.
- 53:07SPEAKER_00: Like we'd just beat him to a bloody pulp.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: He could leave everyone alone.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: If we had our way, we'd be stomping all over that.
- 53:14SPEAKER_00: So take your thoughts today.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: Think about what you need to remove from your from your mind.
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: Take your thoughts captive.
- 53:21SPEAKER_00: Scripture says to do that.
- 53:23SPEAKER_00: And take them to the knowledge of God.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: Take them to this scripture.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: Are you doing this?
- 53:28SPEAKER_00: Do you believe that God is not going to remember your sins?
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: It says it right here, he's not.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Take this word at face value for yourself.
- 53:36SPEAKER_00: And know that He loves you.
- 53:38SPEAKER_00: He loves you, we love you.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: And we just we want to see people not walk around so miserable, just be happy and be in the freedom that God wants us to be in.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: It's this so encouraging when you see people that are actually walking around in the light instead of that that rain cloud, that darkness.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: That can go away if you just remember the scripture right here.
- 54:02SPEAKER_00: And and what you said in John, you know, you just call on the name of the Lord, and the enemy will flee.
- 54:09SPEAKER_00: You you cannot, the enemy cannot be where Jesus is.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: It's not allowed.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: Jesus doesn't allow it.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: Jesus doesn't allow it, so why do we allow it?
- 54:22SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
