- Chris Laker: I hate explaining my day, but it's late because I ran 20 miles today. I didn't run that yesterday. I ran yesterday, but not that. Things got in the way. It's late now. I'm still recording. I'm doing a show. My phone isn't working because it was in my pocket while I was running it thought I was trying to break into my phone and has now locked me out for two hours. So I have to read the headlines off the computer, which I think l is annoying to see, but that is why. It's because my phone is locked out. I drove home without a phone, which seems insane. What if I get lost? it it's unsafe. What if something happens? I'm fucked. And I have no music. can't call anybody when I'm stuck in traffic. I'm just floating free like it's 1991. if we all decided to turn off the internet, I think I'd vote for it. I'd say, yeah, let's do it. let's give it a shot. Let's turn it off for a month. see how it goes. I think it would be pretty good. Or maybe just dial up. everybody's gotta go back to dial up. AOL dial up where you have minutes. You have to worry about how many minutes you're on the internet. I just wanna be able to book plane tickets without having to call a travel agent or whatever. I don't know what you do. don't what did people used to do? Did you call the airline and talk to somebody? That sounds kinda nice actually. To talk so talk to somebody at the airline? Yeah, I I would do that. that's not gonna happen. We're gonna accelerate things even more. there's no turning back. And for the half hour that I did turn back in the car because I was locked out of my phone, I wasn't comfortable with it. So maybe I wouldn't be okay with going back to dial up. Then I gotta print out directions. it's not an option. So I don't have to worry about whether or not I would vote for it. It's never gonna happen unless the grid goes down completely and we have no choice. there was a headline I saw a day or two ago that Iran might be planning to attack the cables that we have in the in the ocean that connect us to the rest of the world. I don't know if that would shut down the internet, but the headline made it sound really bad. I didn't read the article. I probably should have, because then I would have more information right now. you can just be afraid of that I don't have a lot of facts. I don't stand by the things I say. That should always be kept in mind by anybody watching this show I think tonight will be a short show, which you're welcome. A short show. Who doesn't love a short show? You get in, you get out. We don't need to make a big deal out of this every single day. they're pretty short to begin with. But today we'll see how short it is. I'm saying it's going to be shorter now, and then sometimes I say that, and it ends up being regular length or a little longer. I'm gonna get to the news. Flavio Bolsonaro arrives in the US after fleeing Brazil following election defeat. He's wanted in Brazil for money laundering. He's more than welcome here. We will harbor a fugitive from Brazil, He said nice things about Trump, which means he can stay here and go to UFC events and be cheered and meet Guy Fieri. then Guy Fieri can say, I didn't know who that was. I just shook his hand and took pictures with him. He seemed like a nice guy. I'm a political, I'm Guy Fieri, I have restaurants that people like to go to their political leanings probably aren't great. Let's not talk about it. Nothing against Guy. I don't give a shit about Guy Fieri. Guy Fieri is not the problem with the United States of America. maybe part of a dietary issue with the United States of America, but he is not like he's fine. Golden Corral is worse than Guy Fieri, I think. I did I forgot to have the light on and now I just turned it on. just because I forgot to turn it on, I'm not gonna make the mistake the entire show. So we have a Brazilian fugitive here in the United States. he'll probably go on some sort of tour. He's welcome to money launder here. I don't even think that's illegal to launder money. What it's it's money that was gotten from criminal activity. You gotta do something with it. It helps the economy to launder money. on Breaking Bad, they laundered money through a legitimate business, the car wash. wasn't that good for the community to have a thriving car wash that was laundering meth money. That that he needed for health care. it's really about healthcare. If he if there was better healthcare in the United States, breaking bad would not even be a show. Florida mother charged with child neglect after deputies say she left her four kids home alone for five days while she went on a work trip to Las Vegas. It's a work trip. She didn't go to Las Vegas for fun. She had to go for work. The oldest kid is 14. You're fine. I think the youngest is nine. Everybody's fine. Nobody's neglected. a fourteen year old can make mac and cheese. in the movie Home Alone, if Kevin was fourteen, nobody would care about that movie. They'd say, so what? There's no reason to charge her there was a babysitter there most of the time, but the babysitter didn't sleep over. She couldn't afford it. How old does the kid have to be before you can just leave them home? Do they have to be 18 years old? you leave a 17-year-old home alone, you get charged with child neglect? I feel bad for this woman. And this is Florida. I thought they were supposed to have freedom there. Dolores Huerta, farm worker and civil rights activist, dies at 96. Good run. Rest in peace. I'm not gonna act like I know. Everything she did. I know she's a very important person and she did a lot of good. I don't know if she did any bad things. If she did, I'm unaware of them. So I'm gonna say, great run, rest in peace. But I don't think she did anything bad. I think it was all good. Maybe she didn't return phone calls well. Helped a lot of people. 96 years young. When you get to 96, you want to make that 100, still pretty good. Nova Scotia woman refused to comply with phone scammer. So would-be fraudster swatted her house. I didn't know you can swap people in Canada. They got militarized police forces in Canada? Why not? They see the United States do it. Must be a good idea. It's too easy to swap people here, and I guess in Canada too. You can just call up a number and say somebody's a terrorist and they will roll up with a tank, break your door down, shoot your dog, not pay for any of the damages. this is how we keep people safe. Phone scammer people. never pick up your phone. Definitely don't pick up the phone if you don't know the number. That's insane. even if even if it says you know the number, they can somehow they can spoof numbers Never just never pick up the phone. CDC's second in command stepping down after just six months. she said it was to spend more time with her family, which should not be allowed to you can't say that anymore. stop insulting us with the spending more time with your family. That's the last thing anybody wants to do. The fact that she's stepping down after six months makes me think she would have been a good second in command of the CDC. That's why she's leaving. She sees that it's fucked and doesn't want to be a part of it. my family. I forgot. I had a family. I do need to spend more time with them. this is great. This is all looking good, but That family. I have a picture of them on my desk. I looked over, I saw it. I was like, that's right. I'm gonna have to step down. Two high-speed trains collide in Spain. 68 people died and 80 were injured. It's on a track. Things are planned. somebody knows where everything is. two trains colliding should never happen. Somebody fucked up big. they should get fired. they bought cabins to live on a luxury cruise ship. High fuel costs got them kicked off in Cambodia. it's a good thing. You don't want to live on a cruise ship. it sounds like a good idea to some people. but that thing's a petri dish. Yeah, get off there. well they have to get off. In Cambodia, which is a very inexpensive place to live. I've watched a lot of YouTube videos on cheap places to live in the world and Cambodia's up there. Grand Jury indicts retired NYPD detective on murder charged in alleged road rage bridge shooting. He shot somebody on the George Washington Bridge. He's out on a million dollars bail. It's weird how you can murder somebody and then hang out with your family if you got enough money to to pay the bail. if you don't, you're in prison. if you're Innocent even. And then if you get out, you're innocent. You just spent that time in jail. It's just like what you sorry, you lost your job and your apartment and shit. This guy sounds pretty guilty, he's out on bail. he shot this dude, forty five years old, married with two kids, worked for Con now his family is in shambles But if there was no cash bail, he would be out on bail anyway. I don't know about the no cash bail. it's it's hard to wrap my head around, it that being the decision between whether somebody gets to walk around free or not Seems wrong. if you're not convicted of a crime, they just hold you in jail. if you murder somebody and they know pretty well that you murdered somebody, doesn't feel like you should be walking around. But this dude is. the United States justice system, it could use a little work maybe, in my opinion.
