- Ben: Morning and welcome to your short term rental bulletin. Airbnb is shifting the narrative in Europe and it's coming from comments now gaining traction from ITB Berlin. In newly circulated reporting from the event Airbnb pushed back on one of the biggest claims behind short term rental regulation that short term rentals are driving housing shortages. Their argument even in cities with strict short term rental limits rents are still rising. That is a notable shift. Platforms are no longer just responding to regulation. They're actively challenging whether these policies are working at all. This comes just ahead of EU's 2026 short term rental framework that will introduce mandatory registration, unique property IDs and platform data sharing across all member states, giving cities far more enforcement and power. So we now have two forces colliding, regulators, scaling enforcement and platforms questioning the foundation behind it. This debate will shape the next wave of policy and how strict it gets and how it's justified. The short-term rental fight in Europe is no longer just about control, it's about providing what actually works. That's your short-term rental bulletin. I'll see you tomorrow.
