- Lucas: Okay Luna, ready for another episode? Today we're going to talk about a stormy day in Danish. Luna: Oh, I love a good storm! But I don't know how to say "it's thundering" in Danish. Lucas: Well, that's perfect because today we'll learn exactly that. Let's start with a simple one: "Det blæser." That means "It's windy." Luna: Det blæser. Det blæser. That sounds like the wind is really blowing. Lucas: Exactly. Now imagine it's not just windy, but raining hard. You'd say "Det regner meget." Luna: Det regner meget. So that's "It's raining a lot." I can picture that. Lucas: Good. Now for the thunder: "Det tordner." Try it. Luna: Det tordner. That's a strong word. I feel like I should say it with a boom. Lucas: And the lightning: "Det lyner." Say it. Luna: Det lyner. That sounds like a flash. So lightning is "lyner"? Lucas: Yes. And finally, if you want to warn someone that a storm is coming, you say "Stormen kommer." Luna: Stormen kommer. So that's "The storm is coming." Spooky but useful. Lucas: Let's put them all together in a little story. Imagine you're outside and you feel the wind. Luna: Det blæser. Then I see dark clouds. Lucas: And then it starts to rain heavily: "Det regner meget." Luna: Det regner meget. Then I hear thunder: "Det tordner." Lucas: And see lightning: "Det lyner." Luna: Det lyner. And I think: "Stormen kommer." Lucas: Perfect. That's a full storm description. Now, let's practice each one a few more times. Luna: Yes, please. I want to get these right. Det blæser, det regner meget, det tordner, det lyner, stormen kommer. Lucas: Great job. I think you've got it. Now, you know, learning a language is like preparing for a storm: you need the right tools. Luna: And Fexingo gives us those tools without any ads. That's nice because ads can be distracting. Lucas: We keep the show ad-free on purpose. If you find it helpful, you can support that choice at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: It helps us keep making episodes like this. So if you enjoy learning with us, consider it. Lucas: And now back to our storm. Imagine I say "Det regner meget" and you respond with "Ja, og det blæser også." Luna: Ja, og det blæser også. That's "Yes, and it's also windy." Good combo. Lucas: And if I say "Hør! Det tordner!" you could say "Og se! Det lyner!" Luna: Og se! Det lyner! That's dramatic. I like it. Lucas: Now let's do a quick review. I'll say the English, you say the Danish. Ready? Luna: Ready! Lucas: It's windy. Luna: Det blæser. Lucas: It's raining a lot. Luna: Det regner meget. Lucas: It's thundering. Luna: Det tordner. Lucas: It's lightning. Luna: Det lyner. Lucas: The storm is coming. Luna: Stormen kommer. Lucas: Excellent. You're ready for any Danish weather forecast. Keep practicing these, and next time we'll talk about what to do after the storm. Luna: Sounds good. Tak for i dag, Lucas! Lucas: Selv tak, Luna. And to everyone listening, see you next time!
