Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, discos, need a little more Disgraceland in your life,
- 0:05Speaker 1: just to touch to get you through. Yeah me too.
- 0:08Speaker 1: This is the podcast that comes after the podcast. Welcome
- 0:11Speaker 1: to Disgraceland, the after Party. Welcome to the Disgraceland bonus episode,
- 0:30Speaker 1: a little thing we like to call the after party.
- 0:33Speaker 1: This is the show after the show, the party after
- 0:35Speaker 1: the party, the bridge to get you from one full
- 0:37Speaker 1: episode of Disgraceland to the other, the backyard to dig
- 0:40Speaker 1: into the dirt. On this episode, we are talking, among
- 0:44Speaker 1: other things, about our new full story on YouTube and
- 0:47Speaker 1: the killer that took his cue from one of their songs.
- 0:50Speaker 1: We're also talking about this week's rewind episode on Sublime,
- 0:53Speaker 1: and of course we're getting into your voicemails, text dms,
- 0:57Speaker 1: emails and more, and as always, a whole lot of Rosie.
- 1:01Speaker 1: All right, this goes, Let's get into it. This is
- 1:17Speaker 1: not a rebel song. This is Disgraceland. And this week
- 1:21Speaker 1: in Disgraceland, we bring you our first episode of season fourteen,
- 1:26Speaker 1: a brand new episode on YouTube. Specifically you two as
- 1:30Speaker 1: we knew them nearly forty years ago, back in nineteen
- 1:33Speaker 1: eighty seven. I can't believe that was forty years ago,
- 1:36Speaker 1: back in eighty seven, when You two dropped their fifth
- 1:38Speaker 1: studio album, the excellent, excellent album, The Joshua Tree, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: became one of the biggest bands on the planet. And
- 1:45Speaker 1: doing so, they also caught the attention of a lot
- 1:49Speaker 1: of crazies, murderers, terrorists, you name it, both here in
- 1:53Speaker 1: the States and back in their home country of Ireland.
- 1:56Speaker 1: This story that we've told this week in Disgraceland, this
- 1:58Speaker 1: story is about a particularly disturbed man by the name
- 2:01Speaker 1: of Robert John Bardo, who was living in Arizona at
- 2:04Speaker 1: the time, and he became obsessed with an actress in Hollywood,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and he'd also at the same time became obsessed with
- 2:12Speaker 1: the U two song Exit. Exit is the second to
- 2:16Speaker 1: last track on side two of The Joshua Tree, and
- 2:19Speaker 1: the thing that distinguishes this song from any other U
- 2:24Speaker 1: two song is I mean, this is this is uh.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I honestly feel like this is Bono getting pulled into
- 2:32Speaker 1: the trap of true crime way before we even really
- 2:35Speaker 1: had a phrase for it. I mean, I guess we
- 2:37Speaker 1: had a phrase for it. Truman Capoti in Cold Blood
- 2:40Speaker 1: was the first true crime book I think. Helter Skelter
- 2:43Speaker 1: is known as the Mac Daddy of mal and that
- 2:45Speaker 1: was you know, both those books were produced decades before
- 2:49Speaker 1: Bono wrote the song Exit. I think I think Bono
- 2:52Speaker 1: might have been reading Norman Mayler. But he wrote the
- 2:55Speaker 1: song Exit, and he put himself into the perspective of
- 2:59Speaker 1: a killer. The song is written from the point of
- 3:02Speaker 1: view of a killer, and it is a murderous sounding song.
- 3:07Speaker 1: It's dark and Robert John Bardo, who was mentally ill,
- 3:13Speaker 1: to put it nicely, he quite honestly didn't know how
- 3:16Speaker 1: to deal with this song and it soundtracked this murderous
- 3:20Speaker 1: plot that he carried out as a result of what
- 3:24Speaker 1: happened and what the song came to represent. You know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: a young woman died because of this song, or I mean,
- 3:31Speaker 1: that's that's putting it kind of harshly, because of the crazy,
- 3:35Speaker 1: psychotic manifestations of a killer who used this song to
- 3:41Speaker 1: propel him. Because of that, you two didn't play the
- 3:44Speaker 1: song Exit for decades, and they thought it just it
- 3:47Speaker 1: had the wrong kind of energy, the wrong kind of power,
- 3:50Speaker 1: evil evil power in the song. And I don't think
- 3:55Speaker 1: that's an overstatement. I don't think that's an exaggeration. I
- 4:00Speaker 1: don't think that's hyperbole. I think Bono truly believed that
- 4:03Speaker 1: that song possessed a certain kind of energy and the
- 4:06Speaker 1: wrong kind of energy, which you're going to hear about
- 4:09Speaker 1: in the episode we did. And and I believe it
- 4:12Speaker 1: not only because I think Bono is a righteous guy
- 4:15Speaker 1: and I just I just believe that to be true.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I think I think there are certain elements in the world.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I think evil is real. I think there are certain
- 4:24Speaker 1: pieces of art. I think there are certain objects in
- 4:28Speaker 1: the world. I think there are certain people that possess
- 4:32Speaker 1: the wrong kind of energy. And you know, I didn't
- 4:36Speaker 1: feel that way. I don't think five years ago before
- 4:39Speaker 1: I started this podcast, or at least I didn't think
- 4:42Speaker 1: about it. I think the first time actually I ever
- 4:44Speaker 1: thought about it was when I watched the movie Jacob's
- 4:46Speaker 1: Ladder and and just I just sort of looked around
- 4:49Speaker 1: at my world and thought, like, God, what what am
- 4:51Speaker 1: I surrounding myself with that is the opposite of good?
- 4:56Speaker 1: And it just it caused me to for the first
- 4:59Speaker 1: time to objectify evil. And then when in doing the
- 5:04Speaker 1: research for these episodes, you can't help but come upon
- 5:08Speaker 1: just people from history who possess this darkness. You can't
- 5:12Speaker 1: help but come upon objects places, locations, settings, homes, buildings, music,
- 5:21Speaker 1: art that contain this darkness. And sometimes these things get
- 5:28Speaker 1: created by accident with the best intentions and things go wrong.
- 5:31Speaker 1: And I think that's what happened here with the song Exit,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and it's fascinating to think about, and it's fascinating to
- 5:36Speaker 1: listen to how Bono and YouTube dealt with this and
- 5:40Speaker 1: the true crime story at the heart of it all
- 5:42Speaker 1: with Robert John Bartow and the murder of Rebecca Schaeffer,
- 5:45Speaker 1: who was a Hollywood actress at the time. Super interesting,
- 5:49Speaker 1: and that is the subject of this week's episode. Okay,
- 5:53Speaker 1: brand new episode on YouTube, which you can get wherever
- 5:55Speaker 1: you get your podcasts. All right, we're doing this new
- 5:57Speaker 1: thing now. Okay, tomorrow the day after this release whenever,
- 6:00Speaker 1: that is when you're hearing this, but the next episode
- 6:03Speaker 1: in your feed. We're going to be releasing archive episodes
- 6:07Speaker 1: every week, so the release schedule will from this point
- 6:10Speaker 1: on be Tuesday, full episode, Thursday, this after party, bonus episode, Friday,
- 6:17Speaker 1: a rewind episode, which is a previously released episode that
- 6:21Speaker 1: is sitting in the archive. Okay, here's what's gone on
- 6:24Speaker 1: over the last year. As you know, we were exclusive
- 6:27Speaker 1: with Amazon Music throughout the year. We've released all of
- 6:31Speaker 1: our content, most of it, anyways. I think there's like
- 6:33Speaker 1: four or five episodes that have yet to come out
- 6:35Speaker 1: of the exclusive archive, but most of it over one
- 6:37Speaker 1: hundred plus episodes. And we've attracted a lot of new
- 6:40Speaker 1: listeners in the last year, and a lot of them
- 6:43Speaker 1: write to us and say, hey, how about an episode
- 6:46Speaker 1: on led Zeppelin, how about an episode on Taylor Swift,
- 6:50Speaker 1: how about an episode on Otis Redding. And I'm just like,
- 6:54Speaker 1: I've We've done these episodes. I get a lot of
- 6:57Speaker 1: requests for Guns N' Roses episodes. I got a request
- 6:59Speaker 1: for a Rolling Stones episode the other day, Like we
- 7:02Speaker 1: have we have eight or something like the six six
- 7:05Speaker 1: Stones episodes. I think the point is a lot of
- 7:07Speaker 1: people are coming to the podcast for the first time
- 7:09Speaker 1: and they're unaware of all the content and all the
- 7:11Speaker 1: subjects we've covered in the archives. So what we're gonna
- 7:13Speaker 1: be doing from now on on Fridays, We're gonna be
- 7:15Speaker 1: releasing these rewind episodes. Okay, So it's gonna go Tuesday,
- 7:19Speaker 1: new full episode, Wednesday, Bonus after party episode, Friday Archive
- 7:24Speaker 1: rewind episode. This Friday, we are releasing the Sublime episode
- 7:29Speaker 1: from the archive, releasing it back into the feed, and
- 7:31Speaker 1: from now on, every week every Friday, we'll be tying
- 7:34Speaker 1: the release of these archive rewind episodes to something going
- 7:38Speaker 1: on in the world at large that has to do
- 7:41Speaker 1: with the artist or the subject matter from that archived episode.
- 7:45Speaker 1: So Sublime coming at you this Friday. I'm gonna talk
- 7:48Speaker 1: more about this episode later here in the after party.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So here's the question, though, this is what I want
- 7:52Speaker 1: to hear from you, guys. If you are a new listener,
- 7:56Speaker 1: what episodes do you want to hear? Okay? What's subjects
- 8:00Speaker 1: do you want to hear? Which artist? Which musical artists
- 8:03Speaker 1: do you want me to cover? And don't worry if
- 8:05Speaker 1: we've already covered them. What I'm trying to uncover here
- 8:08Speaker 1: from you, guys is worthy interest is in what we've
- 8:11Speaker 1: already produced and then resurface it for you here. Okay.
- 8:14Speaker 1: If you are an existing og Disco Disgraceland listener from
- 8:19Speaker 1: way back, or if you've just been in with us
- 8:21Speaker 1: here in the last couple of years, what new episodes
- 8:24Speaker 1: do you want to hear? What other artists do you
- 8:26Speaker 1: want me to cover? We talk about this a lot.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I try my best to get the subject matter that
- 8:32Speaker 1: you want to hear into our production schedule. The Sublime episode,
- 8:35Speaker 1: which I'll talk about later, is a direct result of
- 8:39Speaker 1: hearing from you guys. So let me know. Six one seven,
- 8:41Speaker 1: nine oh six, six six three eight. What Disgraceland episodes
- 8:45Speaker 1: do you want to hear? New or old? Don't worry
- 8:48Speaker 1: if we've already covered them. Six one seven, nine oh six,
- 8:50Speaker 1: six six three eight. On the voicemail old school style,
- 8:54Speaker 1: New school Style six one seven nine oh six six
- 8:56Speaker 1: six three eight to text me also at Disgraced on
- 9:00Speaker 1: all the socials Disgrace lampod at gmail dot com. On email,
- 9:04Speaker 1: let's check out this email from Jerry Middleton, subject your
- 9:10Speaker 1: podcast message started a short time ago to listen to
- 9:13Speaker 1: bad Lands and got hooked fast. Now I'm about halfway
- 9:17Speaker 1: through Disgraceland on Sirius XM. I'm from Michigan and have
- 9:20Speaker 1: you ever done or planned to do a show on
- 9:23Speaker 1: Bob Seger. Keep up the great job, thanks Jerry. No
- 9:27Speaker 1: plans on on Bob Seger. Bob Seger pops up in
- 9:30Speaker 1: the I believe our Part one Eagles episode because of
- 9:33Speaker 1: the Glen Fry connection. Another Michigan boy as you know,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a There's gotta be some
- 9:40Speaker 1: sort of some sort of true crime that rubbed up
- 9:43Speaker 1: against Bob Seger at some point, given that long career
- 9:46Speaker 1: and given the Detroit connection, I'd be surprised if there
- 9:48Speaker 1: wasn't something, especially given how the Mafia controlled nightclubs back
- 9:52Speaker 1: in the day and the Silver Bullet Band was a
- 9:56Speaker 1: bar band. So I'm sure there's something there Bob Seger.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Jerry is one of those artists that I came too late.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I did not appreciate the Siege when I was growing up.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I fucking love it now though, man getting older, expanding
- 10:12Speaker 1: my horizon, and a lot of it has to do
- 10:14Speaker 1: with rambling gambling man. That song, the placement with Brad
- 10:18Speaker 1: Pitt from Once upon a Time in Hollywood is just
- 10:20Speaker 1: oh damn so good. Thanks Jerry. Perhaps perhaps a Bob
- 10:24Speaker 1: Seeger episode in the future six one seven nine oh six,
- 10:27Speaker 1: six six three eight, guys, or email me Disgrace lamdpod
- 10:31Speaker 1: at gmail dot com. Like Jerry there and let me
- 10:33Speaker 1: know what you guys want to hear for episodes. We
- 10:35Speaker 1: got this one from Lindsey Cruz. Subject episode suggestion Francis
- 10:40Speaker 1: Farmer now I know Francis Farmer was an actress, and
- 10:42Speaker 1: I know this is probably more rap party bad Lands fodder. However,
- 10:49Speaker 1: this just gave me an idea, Lindsey for a new
- 10:52Speaker 1: Disgracelane episode because of the Nirvana connection to Francis Farmer.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Francis Farmer's Revenge. Lindsay Crew says, Hello, huge fan of
- 10:59Speaker 1: your podcast, Very informative and enjoy learning all the dark
- 11:01Speaker 1: details on musicians and celebrities. Could you guys please do
- 11:04Speaker 1: an episode on Francis Farmer. I love the idea, Lindsey
- 11:07Speaker 1: Paging Zeth Lundy, let's mark that. Let's put that on
- 11:09Speaker 1: the production calendar. See what we can come up with.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Their email here is the last one for this week
- 11:15Speaker 1: from Jason Haas says, Hi, Jack and everyone at Disgrace
- 11:19Speaker 1: and Jason, I love you, man, I love you. But
- 11:22Speaker 1: my name is not Jack, dude, it's Jake. You know that.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You know that. IMNA. I'm gonna chalk this up to
- 11:28Speaker 1: auto correct fucking up my name here. Anyways. The email
- 11:32Speaker 1: goes on to say, long time listener, first time writer,
- 11:35Speaker 1: just got done with the Halloween episode about Black Sabbath.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Oh what a finish. Love it, Love finding out what
- 11:41Speaker 1: made Sabbath so damn good too with the try tone
- 11:43Speaker 1: and tony I mean just lopped off fingers. I had
- 11:47Speaker 1: seen that many years ago, but never connected it once
- 11:48Speaker 1: I started listening to Sabbath years later. Also, their start
- 11:51Speaker 1: as a Midlands band explains why their first album is
- 11:54Speaker 1: so bluesy. Yes it does, Yes it does a lot
- 11:56Speaker 1: of great blues artists Steve Lynwood, Christine Perfect aka Chris
- 12:00Speaker 1: Steen MCV, Jason, as you know, from that area where
- 12:04Speaker 1: Black Sabbath is from up by Birmingham there in the UK.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Let's see. Jason goes on to say thanks again and hey,
- 12:11Speaker 1: rock a rolla, you got it, Jason. All right, guys,
- 12:13Speaker 1: email me disgrace Laan Pod at gmail dot com. I'll
- 12:16Speaker 1: be back in a flash with your voicemails and texts.
- 12:39Speaker 1: All right, guys, we are back, going to hit some
- 12:41Speaker 1: voicemails and texts here before I do that. You know,
- 12:44Speaker 1: we're talking about YouTube this week in our full episode.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And you know it's funny. I was been surrounded by
- 12:51Speaker 1: you to almost my entire life. I remember being a
- 12:55Speaker 1: really little kid, really little, and looking at the vinyl,
- 12:59Speaker 1: the Gayfold vinyl for Sunday Bloody Sunday and that black strat,
- 13:04Speaker 1: that black on black strat, that the edge has the
- 13:07Speaker 1: black pit guard on the black body. I remember just
- 13:10Speaker 1: being in love with that guitars before I had a guitar,
- 13:13Speaker 1: before I had an electric guitar. Excuse me, I did
- 13:15Speaker 1: have an acoustic guitar. And I don't know how old
- 13:18Speaker 1: I was, six' seven something like, that maybe even, Younger
- 13:21Speaker 1: i'm not. Sure AND i just remember begging my father
- 13:26Speaker 1: for that guitar and staring at that guitar in the
- 13:30Speaker 1: artwork For under A Blood Red sky and just being
- 13:33Speaker 1: JUST i had to have. IT i was. Obsessed, actually
- 13:35Speaker 1: DID i say that the album Was Sunday Bloody? SUNDAY
- 13:37Speaker 1: i was Wrong IF i said that under a Blood Red,
- 13:40Speaker 1: Sky that's WHAT i meant to. Say so, anyhow you
- 13:42Speaker 1: too been in my life, entirely you, know AND i
- 13:46Speaker 1: was a fan THROUGHOUT i mean everything up until The Joshua,
- 13:51Speaker 1: tree which was just. Ubiquitous you could not get away
- 13:55Speaker 1: from the song with or without, you and it just
- 13:59Speaker 1: soundtracked grade for. Us it was. INCREDIBLE i remember being
- 14:03Speaker 1: up At Saint john's gym as a, kid hanging out
- 14:05Speaker 1: with chicks for the first, time you, know, puberty that
- 14:07Speaker 1: whole thing with or Without, you that was the song
- 14:11Speaker 1: burned into my. Memory and then they just became too
- 14:14Speaker 1: big AND i lost interest because they became so damn,
- 14:18Speaker 1: huge which is a dumb reason to lose interest in an,
- 14:20Speaker 1: artist but it does. Happen it's, inescapable your your your interests,
- 14:25Speaker 1: changed you gravitate to other. Music things do become so
- 14:29Speaker 1: big that they kind of eat themselves in a, way
- 14:31Speaker 1: and you, too definitely was. That but here's the. Deal,
- 14:36Speaker 1: objectively if you two never had a hit and they
- 14:39Speaker 1: still made the same music and you listen to, it
- 14:42Speaker 1: you would just you just put it on like out
- 14:44Speaker 1: of the, blue like if an alien landed here, tomorrow
- 14:46Speaker 1: and just like you gave them all of youtwo's discography
- 14:49Speaker 1: on a, mix you just even, this the, hits the,
- 14:50Speaker 1: bangers whatever The spotify playlist. Is this is you. Two
- 14:54Speaker 1: you just gave that to an. Alien they'd be, like
- 14:56Speaker 1: this is the greatest fucking rock and roll band of all.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Time they are that. Good AND i think the main
- 15:01Speaker 1: reason they are that good is because of their. Frontman
- 15:04Speaker 1: he is that. Good and it's this rare scenario where
- 15:09Speaker 1: the frontman is just Extra everything About bono is. Extra
- 15:16Speaker 1: he is a phenomenal. Singer he has an incredible, voice
- 15:20Speaker 1: and those are two distinctly different. Things you don't need
- 15:23Speaker 1: both to be a great, frontman but he has both in.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Spades great frontman on, stage completely compelling off, Stage, okay
- 15:31Speaker 1: always has something interesting to, say even if you're sick
- 15:34Speaker 1: of his bullshit quote unquote or air quotes. Bullshit but
- 15:37Speaker 1: he's one of these frontmen who never really went off
- 15:39Speaker 1: and had a solo. Career and you, know people were
- 15:41Speaker 1: in his ear, constantly like they were With Mick, jagger
- 15:44Speaker 1: telling him he could be the Next Michael, jackson you,
- 15:46Speaker 1: know Telling bono he can do whatever the fuck he
- 15:48Speaker 1: always he just hung in, there and the band has its,
- 15:51Speaker 1: limitations BUT i think that's a good. Thing you, know
- 15:54Speaker 1: they're not trying to be The. Beatles they were just
- 15:56Speaker 1: trying to be you, two and they were fucking great at,
- 15:59Speaker 1: it incredible and we might not realize now because we're
- 16:03Speaker 1: so far removed from, it just how fucking huge they,
- 16:07Speaker 1: were and deservedly. So they're an incredible, band that's all.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Now the REASON i don't even know WHY i feel
- 16:15Speaker 1: compelled to say, this except maybe Because i've just never
- 16:18Speaker 1: really given you to the space in my listening life
- 16:22Speaker 1: THAT i, should AND i feel LIKE i am now
- 16:24Speaker 1: because we got into this episode and that's part of
- 16:26Speaker 1: WHY i love doing this. Gig so, anyways if you're
- 16:29Speaker 1: some krusty punk rocker who hates you, TOO i get.
- 16:31Speaker 1: It but you, know don't deprive, yourself, man go back,
- 16:36Speaker 1: listen give it another. Chance all, right let's check out
- 16:39Speaker 1: some voicemails and texts from you. Guys six p one
- 16:40Speaker 1: seventy nine six six six three. Eight let's check out

- 17:19Speaker 1: had a very similar experience with The eagles not exactly the,
- 17:22Speaker 1: same BUT i came to them, late had an early
- 17:24Speaker 1: disdain for, them not THAT i ever really disdained you
- 17:27Speaker 1: two or just didn't like, YouTube but i'd more gravitated
- 17:30Speaker 1: away from. Them BUT i came back to The eagles

- 23:31Speaker 1: first of, all check out the Song. Exit it's not
- 23:33Speaker 1: a known. Song it's on The Joshua. Tree it wasn't
- 23:36Speaker 1: a hit by any, means but it is the centerpiece
- 23:39Speaker 1: of our latest episode on. YouTube so go check that
- 23:43Speaker 1: song out after you listen to the episode or before.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Whenever and THEN i came across this nugget this morning
- 23:51Speaker 1: when putting my thoughts together for this after. Party there
- 23:56Speaker 1: is an, incredible incredible concert. Movie it's movies a. Stretch
- 24:02Speaker 1: it's produced in a very cheesy, way and it's about
- 24:04Speaker 1: this festival that took place in nineteen eighty three called
- 24:07Speaker 1: THE Us, festival which was a major concert somewhere IN
- 24:11Speaker 1: i believe Northern california that was put together By Steve,
- 24:14Speaker 1: wozniak WHO i believe at the time just made a
- 24:17Speaker 1: boatload of money From. Apple he's the co founder Of
- 24:19Speaker 1: apple With steve. Jobs so he puts on this festival
- 24:21Speaker 1: that's kind of like this early eighties answer To, woodstock
- 24:27Speaker 1: and that's not doing any. Justice there's this whole like
- 24:30Speaker 1: utopian idealism thing that's behind, it which is admirable Of.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Wosniak the, Bands, okay let's talk about the. Bands the
- 24:36Speaker 1: Headliner Stevie. Nicks directly under her Is triumph and then
- 24:40Speaker 1: Supporting triumph And Stevie nick solo is You. Two this
- 24:44Speaker 1: is like under The Blood Red sky Era You. TWO
- 24:48Speaker 1: i think it's it's definitely Pre Joshua. Tree it's you
- 24:53Speaker 1: two on the. Ascent they're they're definitely stripped down at this,
- 24:58Speaker 1: point the show is stripped. Down they're very much still
- 25:01Speaker 1: repping this kind of like clash style on. Stage is
- 25:05Speaker 1: amazing how much they took their style from The. Clash
- 25:08Speaker 1: As i'm watching, this but it's a really cool moment in,
- 25:13Speaker 1: time and it's produced in a super cheesy, way which
- 25:17Speaker 1: which lends to the awesomeness of. It the whole thing's
- 25:20Speaker 1: only like forty five minutes, long the actual the film
- 25:23Speaker 1: here quote unquote, Film but it's this nerdy eighties Again
- 25:29Speaker 1: californian music festival out in the middle of, nowhere and
- 25:34Speaker 1: it is just, like it's all these nerds because it's
- 25:37Speaker 1: this apple Like Northern california. AGAIN i Think Northern california
- 25:40Speaker 1: thing a bunch of. Nerds and then just it's weirdly highly.
- 25:44Speaker 1: SEXUALIZED i can't really explain. It it's just like you
- 25:51Speaker 1: gotta go watch. It it's nineteen eighty three and it's,
- 25:54Speaker 1: just LIKE i, said weirdly. Sexualized and the artists are,
- 25:59Speaker 1: incredible even the, artist Even berlin. IS i was just, like,
- 26:02Speaker 1: wow Fucking berlin laying it. Down but the YouTube performance is,
- 26:07Speaker 1: incredible and the whole the whole, thing just as a
- 26:09Speaker 1: piece of, content is worth checking. Out it's fucking weird
- 26:11Speaker 1: as all. Hell you'll dig. IT i THINK i got
- 26:13Speaker 1: it On. Apple it's probably on YouTube as. Well it's
- 26:15Speaker 1: see Us, festival, okay and it's kitchy and it's cool
- 26:19Speaker 1: and it's, weird but it just sent me to go
- 26:22Speaker 1: Watch rattle And, hum Which i've never really watched intentionally.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Before And rattle And, HUM i think it's one of
- 26:29Speaker 1: the best concert slash studio films That i've ever. Seen
- 26:33Speaker 1: the opening is, incredible the whole helter Skelter Charles manson.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Thing you Know. Bono the first thing you. Hear you
- 26:39Speaker 1: See bono on stage and he gives that famous Line
- 26:42Speaker 1: Charles manson stole this song from The beatles and we're
- 26:45Speaker 1: stealing it, back and just, like you, KNOW i remember
- 26:47Speaker 1: WHEN i first heard that. LINE i was just, like,
- 26:49Speaker 1: wow it's fucking, cool you, know just such a cool.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Line Now i'm, like wait a, minute who Gave bono
- 26:55Speaker 1: the authority to steal on behalf of The? Beatles but either,
- 26:57Speaker 1: way it's just it's just. It it sounds, awesome it looks.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Awesome those guys rehearsing in that giant cavernous train station
- 27:07Speaker 1: or wherever they're set up In dublin or. Wherever they
- 27:10Speaker 1: are just really. Incredible and these guys you two at
- 27:14Speaker 1: the time Of rattle And, hum they're on a fucking.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Heater songwriting, Wise, okay if you look at the songs
- 27:19Speaker 1: from The Joshua tree To rattle And, Hum with or without,
- 27:21Speaker 1: YOU i still haven't found What i'm looking. For where
- 27:24Speaker 1: the streets have no name In God's, Country bullet The Blue,
- 27:26Speaker 1: sky great, song all, Right those are From Joshua, tree
- 27:28Speaker 1: followed up On rattle And hum With Desire angel Of
- 27:31Speaker 1: harlem When Love comes To. Town just great, songwriting incredible incredible.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Songwriting if you haven't Seen rattle And, hum if you
- 27:40Speaker 1: haven't ever really given it the, time because it's just
- 27:42Speaker 1: you two and there's this, big big pop band that
- 27:45Speaker 1: you haven't been interested in the, PAST i highly recommend

- 27:55Speaker 1: it out. Also, okay anyone listen who knows anything about
- 28:00Speaker 1: the Artist Mark almond, okay, SEVENTIES i believe kind of,
- 28:06Speaker 1: jazz kind of. FOLK i know. Nothing. Okay spotify served
- 28:12Speaker 1: me up a song By Mark alman called The, city
- 28:15Speaker 1: AND i became obsessed with, it AND i created a
- 28:17Speaker 1: playlist from that, song and THEN i became obsessed with
- 28:19Speaker 1: this entire style of music WHICH i don't even know
- 28:22Speaker 1: how to. Explain it's weird seventies am but also kind of.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Jazz it's just weirdly fusion as. Well And i'm at
- 28:28Speaker 1: the record store the other, day my local record, store
