- 0:32Speaker 2: Brother?
- 0:33Speaker 1: You know those shows where I know it's going to
- 0:37Speaker 1: be great because I know exactly how you're going to
- 0:42Speaker 1: respond to what one guest says, how that guest is
- 0:45Speaker 1: going to respond to what the other guest says, because
- 0:48Speaker 1: I don't think I've heard three other people talk more
- 0:53Speaker 1: than you and our two guests today when it comes
- 0:58Speaker 1: to the seven years that I've been with Action Network,
- 1:03Speaker 1: we are doing our annual Fantasy Football Update episode with
- 1:09Speaker 1: two Action Network and Fantasy Labs superstars. As we did
- 1:15Speaker 1: last year, we'll discuss their top five most intriguing offseason
- 1:19Speaker 1: moves from a NFL fantasy perspective, and by the way,
- 1:23Speaker 1: five I put it in quotes, that's a loose five
- 1:27Speaker 1: because I'm sure we'll go off the rails a little bit.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Our first guest is Chris Raybond Co host of the
- 1:33Speaker 1: Action podcast in the Fantasy Flex one of the very
- 1:37Speaker 1: best player positional rankers in the world. We could say
- 1:40Speaker 1: best if not for the odds maker. Sean Kerner, our
- 1:45Speaker 1: director of predictive Analytics, one of the originators of the
- 1:50Speaker 1: Luck rankings, one of our favorite stats that we talk
- 1:53Speaker 1: about all the time in the podcast. Sean has been
- 1:58Speaker 1: a Fantasy pros number one ranked NFL expert three times,
- 2:02Speaker 1: awarded most accurate NFL player projections four times, I believe
- 2:07Speaker 1: last year when they did the write up about his rankings,
- 2:10Speaker 1: they basically called him the goat.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Raybun.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Though he's classy, he doesn't get jealous about that. Welcome
- 2:16Speaker 1: to the show, fellas, thanks.
- 2:19Speaker 2: For howdy and congrats again. Sean can't get jealous. It's
- 2:23Speaker 2: all about that synergy, baby as.
- 2:27Speaker 1: There is nobody who's more supportive of Sean Kerner than
- 2:30Speaker 1: Chris Raybun.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Well, it goes both ways, ideally, hopefully.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It's almost like you guys aren't even members of the
- 2:36Speaker 1: media because you are so supportive of each other.
- 2:40Speaker 2: It's almost shocked. It's just the rest of the media.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Damn chat tell them how you really feel.

- 3:46Speaker 1: You are a closet fantasy freak. So I know before
- 3:52Speaker 1: we even get to Raybond and Kerner's top five most
- 3:57Speaker 1: intriguing moves, You've got some very serious questions about a
- 4:01Speaker 1: name that's not on the list.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm a best ball guy, though, Chad. I do
- 4:05Speaker 3: do season long stuff, like I'm in a couple of
- 4:07Speaker 3: dynasty leagues. But as these guys know, when you're doing
- 4:10Speaker 3: sports betting, it is so hard to do both because
- 4:13Speaker 3: you have to be on top of the wave of
- 4:14Speaker 3: wire watch trying to get your bets, and it's too much.
- 4:16Speaker 3: So for me, best ball you just set and forget
- 4:18Speaker 3: your lineups. It's my favorite thing to do, so off
- 4:21Speaker 3: the top. I have a couple of best ball questions.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I think our fans might benefit from where last year.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I like finding bad teams that people don't like in
- 4:28Speaker 3: the regular season and I load up on them for fantasy.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Last year, that team for me was the Rams. This
- 4:34Speaker 3: year my team, I know it's going to shock people
- 4:36Speaker 3: and gross them out. It's the Giants, Like I love neighbors,
- 4:40Speaker 3: I love high throwhigh receiver like. I think their offensive
- 4:43Speaker 3: lines improved. And Daniel Jones with Barkley leaving, I think
- 4:46Speaker 3: he might get more rushing touchdowns this season, which is
- 4:49Speaker 3: like not being counted into his grade right now, where
- 4:53Speaker 3: in Bestball he's going as a thirtieth quarterback. So I
- 4:56Speaker 3: would love to know your guys view of this where
- 4:58Speaker 3: it's like, I mean, if that's gonna be your second
- 5:01Speaker 3: or third QB at the end of the draft, why
- 5:04Speaker 3: is not everyone just taking Daniel Jones on a flyer
- 5:06Speaker 3: the fact that he could run for ten rushing touchdowns. Chris,
- 5:09Speaker 3: I'll start with you because you are a Giants fan.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yeah, so I do like that stack. It's not my favorite,
- 5:15Speaker 2: disgusting stack. I'll talk about that a little later, but
- 5:19Speaker 2: I agree with you. We've seen Daniel Jones have passing
- 5:23Speaker 2: upside his rookie year. He had a couple, i think
- 5:26Speaker 2: three games with four plus touchdowns, four hundred plus passing yards.
- 5:31Speaker 2: We've seen him with the rushing upside under your gable,
- 5:34Speaker 2: and I think you stack him with neighbors. The hardest
- 5:37Speaker 2: part really is being able to draft neighbors because you
- 5:41Speaker 2: know he's an early round pick, but he's stacking with neighbors,
- 5:44Speaker 2: and you stack him with Jaylen Hyatt because even if
- 5:47Speaker 2: Jaylen Hyatt's just like a situational deep threat. Number four receiver.
- 5:52Speaker 2: He's a guy who's gonna, you know, like, if things
- 5:54Speaker 2: go right, he's gonna average twenty yards a catch. He's
- 5:57Speaker 2: gonna put up you know, a few long touchdow and
- 6:00Speaker 2: he's going to really kind of help Daniel Jones's passing value.
- 6:03Speaker 2: So I do like it. I think the Giants are
- 6:05Speaker 2: going to be a pretty shaky team, so they'll probably
- 6:08Speaker 2: have to throw more. Like you said, no Barkley. So yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 2: I think that's exactly what you want to do in
- 6:12Speaker 2: best ball is find those cheap stats. That's how you
- 6:15Speaker 2: really take advantage of the correlations.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Especially for best ball. You know, Daniel Jones does provide
- 6:21Speaker 5: those spiked weeks that you certainly need in best ball.
- 6:24Speaker 5: I think in terms of stacks, you know, I would
- 6:26Speaker 5: also take a flyer maybe on like THEO Johnson at
- 6:29Speaker 5: tight end. I mean, it looks like Darren Waller might
- 6:32Speaker 5: be announcing his retirement very soon, so I could see
- 6:35Speaker 5: Johnson's ADP kind of go up after that becomes official.
- 6:39Speaker 5: Believe the number one tight end, I think it'll be
- 6:42Speaker 5: him and Daniel Bellinger. I think THEO Johnson certainly has
- 6:45Speaker 5: more upside, So I'm just saying that both are ADPs
- 6:48Speaker 5: will probably go up once Waller makes it official that
- 6:51Speaker 5: he's retiring. The one caveat with Daniel Jones is he's
- 6:54Speaker 5: actually listed as one of the quarterbacks where you could
- 6:57Speaker 5: bet on if he'll actually start Week one. I I
- 7:00Speaker 5: don't even know if there's a controversy, but he's around
- 7:02Speaker 5: like minus four hundred over Drew Lock, So I mean,
- 7:05Speaker 5: I guess there's a chance he might not even be
- 7:07Speaker 5: the starter. But I'm with you, I think that kind
- 7:09Speaker 5: of just is already baked in as ADP. I mean,
- 7:11Speaker 5: he's going around QB thirty and I think, you know,
- 7:14Speaker 5: you can make a case he should be in the
- 7:15Speaker 5: low twenties if he is going to start every game.
- 7:18Speaker 5: But I guess that's the one thing is there might
- 7:20Speaker 5: be some quarterback controversy with him and Drew Locke.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Well, also it's not I think it may be. I mean,
- 7:27Speaker 2: obviously Daniel Jones's job is never going to be secure.
- 7:30Speaker 2: He's Daniel Jones. But he's coming off the torn acl
- 7:34Speaker 2: which he had surgery in late November, so I think
- 7:38Speaker 2: there's an outside chance he's not actually ready to go
- 7:42Speaker 2: in week one, so that would be the issue. But
- 7:45Speaker 2: so I think that also plays into it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I shouldn't let everybody know we are pre recording this show.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Some of these things might change. I would say ninety
- 7:54Speaker 1: five percent of what we're saying will still be accurate,
- 7:56Speaker 1: but you never know. Some things changed. Don't be a hater, Listen.
- 8:01Speaker 1: There have been a lot of intriguing moves in the offseason.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins to Atlanta is fascinating. Everything going on with
- 8:11Speaker 1: the Chiefs is wild. You guys are both repping. I
- 8:17Speaker 1: think some of the more intriguing moves that you guys
- 8:20Speaker 1: are ranking at the top of your top five Raybon
- 8:24Speaker 1: I will start with you give me your first, just
- 8:27Speaker 1: your first most intriguing move this offseason.
- 8:32Speaker 2: All right, And I just want to issue a disclaimer,
- 8:35Speaker 2: like Sean and I both didn't take the low hanging
- 8:37Speaker 2: fruit and go with anything the Bears did. So we're
- 8:40Speaker 2: just gonna we know the Bears, like you know, loaded up,
- 8:43Speaker 2: but we're gonna talk about something that I think is
- 8:46Speaker 2: a little more intriguing just because of all the pieces.
- 8:49Speaker 2: It kind of leaves and shuffles, and that's Stefan Diggs
- 8:53Speaker 2: being traded to the Houston Texans. So, first of all,
- 8:57Speaker 2: Nicocollins Tank Dell. Yes, that's a little bit of a
- 9:01Speaker 2: hit to their value. But CJ. Stroud, now he's going
- 9:06Speaker 2: as the QB thirteen in consensus ADP. You know, there's
- 9:12Speaker 2: certain sites you can still get him outside the top
- 9:14Speaker 2: one hundred.
- 9:16Speaker 4: C J.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Stroud had one of the best rookie seasons of all
- 9:19Speaker 2: time last year. Now he's got three All Pro caliber
- 9:24Speaker 2: wide receivers, one of the better receiving tight ends in
- 9:27Speaker 2: the league in Dalton Schultz, somebody. Everyone's going to be
- 9:30Speaker 2: open every play, and this guy is one of the
- 9:33Speaker 2: most accurate, strongest armed, best anticipators that we've seen in
- 9:40Speaker 2: a while. So I just think with all the quarterbacks
- 9:44Speaker 2: this year, the quarterback is kind of loaded, assuming guys
- 9:47Speaker 2: stay healthy. I mean, you got Anthony richardson back, Jordan
- 9:50Speaker 2: Love broke out burrows coming back. So to get a
- 9:54Speaker 2: guy like CJ. Stroud, you know, outside the top six
- 9:59Speaker 2: or seven round, to get him in some cases outside
- 10:02Speaker 2: the top ten or even the top twelve quarterbacks, I
- 10:05Speaker 2: just think that's massive because I mean, he could have
- 10:09Speaker 2: a like he could put he could challenge if Patrick
- 10:12Speaker 2: Mahomes is fifty touchdown season, like, that's how efficient, that's
- 10:15Speaker 2: how good. CJ. Stroud is with uh With Diggs being
- 10:18Speaker 2: added to supporting Caston, Diggs might be the third best
- 10:22Speaker 2: wide receiver on the Houston Texans. So I think all
- 10:25Speaker 2: three of them are worth top twenty five picks, especially
- 10:29Speaker 2: in basketball where you don't have to predict, you know
- 10:31Speaker 2: which weeks they'll go off. But I would say even
- 10:34Speaker 2: like you want to be in Bestball, you want to
- 10:36Speaker 2: be looking at like the Texans number four wide receiver
- 10:39Speaker 2: because like like a Noah Brown, just because if any
- 10:42Speaker 2: one of those guys get hurt, I mean, no, we're sawing.
- 10:45Speaker 2: See Noah Brown put up like one hundred eight yards
- 10:48Speaker 2: a couple of times last year. Like whoever is not
- 10:52Speaker 2: one of those guys is going to be so open
- 10:54Speaker 2: every play as well, just because the defense is going
- 10:56Speaker 2: to pay them no attention. So I just love everything
- 10:59Speaker 2: about this. This Digs moved to the Texans, and then
- 11:02Speaker 2: you know for the Bills, you know they lose not
- 11:05Speaker 2: only Digs, but gave Davis. So that makes Keyon Coleman,
- 11:09Speaker 2: who was drafted by Buffalo early in the draft, a
- 11:14Speaker 2: at wide receiver. That makes him an interesting kind of
- 11:17Speaker 2: dart throw in basketball. You know you don't you know,
- 11:20Speaker 2: even if he starts a little slow and takes some time,
- 11:23Speaker 2: you're fine. And then in redraft he's one of the
- 11:26Speaker 2: few guys that you could get, you know, outside the
- 11:28Speaker 2: top fifty wide receivers that has a legitimate shot to
- 11:31Speaker 2: be his team's you know, number one wide receiver. And
- 11:33Speaker 2: you're talking about Josh Allen's number one wide receiver too.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I think they'll throw a little less like they did
- 11:37Speaker 2: over the second half once they switched to Brady, But
- 11:40Speaker 2: I just think this digs move, it opens up Coleman
- 11:43Speaker 2: in Buffalo, and it makes Stroud a really really strong
- 11:48Speaker 2: pick for a late round quarterback Curner.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Why doesn't anyone feel like there will be the natural
- 11:57Speaker 1: regression in his second year for CJ.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Trap because he's just good and he has a good
- 12:05Speaker 5: supporting cast. I think another interesting thing from last season
- 12:08Speaker 5: is he never had all his receivers healthy at once,
- 12:12Speaker 5: which made it even more impressive what he did. So
- 12:16Speaker 5: now they just have digs there. He can even afford
- 12:20Speaker 5: a guy or two being hurt. So I think just
- 12:22Speaker 5: last year, it was just so impressive what he did
- 12:24Speaker 5: as a rookie that it's hard to really take in
- 12:27Speaker 5: too much regression. I think if anything, he's just going
- 12:29Speaker 5: to get better.
- 12:30Speaker 3: And the number one most injured offensive line, which again
- 12:33Speaker 3: is something that's not talking about where it's like, even
- 12:36Speaker 3: if they keep the guys healthy, right, we always talk
- 12:38Speaker 3: about the injury regression. It's like, that's me a boost
- 12:41Speaker 3: to him. So mean chat doog we wanted to fade
- 12:42Speaker 3: them after the digs meew. Both of us were like,
- 12:45Speaker 3: I'm not putting money on there under like that. That's
- 12:47Speaker 3: going to be a high powered team even if he
- 12:49Speaker 3: does regress a little bit. I do agree. It's like
- 12:52Speaker 3: the team has done nothing but support him. Right, They
- 12:54Speaker 3: went out and got pieces to make the team better,
- 12:56Speaker 3: added another running back. So love to start, Sean, we
- 12:59Speaker 3: got to hit you with the number one? What do
- 13:01Speaker 3: you guys? Then I'm gonna guess it's something to do
- 13:03Speaker 3: with your hat.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yeah, let's let's discuss.
- 13:05Speaker 5: You know, Kirk Cousins going to the Falcons that the
- 13:09Speaker 5: Falcons have just been a frustrating team, to say the
- 13:12Speaker 5: least in terms of Fantasy the past few seasons because
- 13:15Speaker 5: they have you know, a few potential studs in b
- 13:18Speaker 5: Jhon Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts. You know, but
- 13:22Speaker 5: they've all been you know, held back by poor quarterback
- 13:25Speaker 5: play and just a run heavy scheme to overcome it.
- 13:29Speaker 5: You know, head coach Arthur Smith was part of the problem.
- 13:32Speaker 5: So hopefully the new coaching staff under Rahee Morris and
- 13:36Speaker 5: offensive corner Zach Robinson will help. But you know, certainly
- 13:39Speaker 5: adding Kirk Cousins is going to help unlock the fantasy
- 13:43Speaker 5: ceiling of you know, Drake London and Kyle Pitts, but
- 13:45Speaker 5: potentially b Jhon Robinson as well. And you know, it's
- 13:48Speaker 5: also led to some other interesting questions like how will
- 13:52Speaker 5: Justin Jefferson fair without Kirk Cousins. I mean, he's still
- 13:55Speaker 5: arguably the best receiver in the game, but you know,
- 13:57Speaker 5: how good can he be with either Sam Darnold or j. J.
- 14:00Speaker 5: McCarthy under center. And also, you know, the Falcons made
- 14:04Speaker 5: that controversial move by drafting Michael Pennix. I had basically
- 14:08Speaker 5: had him projected to go to the Raiders and play
- 14:11Speaker 5: you know, most of the games there this season, but
- 14:14Speaker 5: now he's stuck behind Kirk Cousins. As long as kirk
- 14:16Speaker 5: Cousins is healthy, you know, Penix isn't gonna play. So
- 14:18Speaker 5: we had one of the better you know, rookie quarterbacks,
- 14:21Speaker 5: you know, stuck behind a veteran this year. So that
- 14:24Speaker 5: kind of put the Raiders in the pinch this year
- 14:26Speaker 5: where they're gonna have to lean on Gardner Minshew and
- 14:28Speaker 5: An O'Connell this year. But the you know, the Kirk
- 14:31Speaker 5: Cousins movie of the Falcons, I think will be you know,
- 14:33Speaker 5: very intriguing for fantasy because we were waiting for a
- 14:36Speaker 5: player like Kyle Pitts to break out. You know, I
- 14:38Speaker 5: think he could be one of the top ten tight
- 14:41Speaker 5: ends this year. And same thing with Drake London. He
- 14:43Speaker 5: was one of my favorite receivers you know, a couple
- 14:46Speaker 5: of years ago. But I think now he's going to
- 14:48Speaker 5: We're going to finally see his potential unlocked.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Here.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Look, the Falcons are setting us up for perennial disappointment.
- 14:58Speaker 1: U so frustrating to watch that team. We loved them
- 15:03Speaker 1: last year. We thought Bijeon would raybound. I think you
- 15:07Speaker 1: had Bijeon before the year began to lead the league
- 15:12Speaker 1: in rushing. Yep, right, I bet that one, and like
- 15:16Speaker 1: it all made perfectly good sense. I'll be very curious
- 15:21Speaker 1: to see how does Kirk Cousins hold up. The clock
- 15:24Speaker 1: is ticking on guys like this. We're going to see
- 15:26Speaker 1: it with Aaron Rodgers, We're going to see it with
- 15:28Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins. How can people who have been consistently good
- 15:31Speaker 1: too great come back at this age? From Achilles Simon,
- 15:37Speaker 1: can you name the fastest growing ticketing app in the
- 15:40Speaker 1: United States?
- 15:41Speaker 4: Game Time?
- 15:43Speaker 1: That's right, It's game Time. I love Game Time for
- 15:45Speaker 1: two reasons. First, they still sponsor this show. Second, I
- 15:48Speaker 1: use game Time all the time. They have amazing last
- 15:51Speaker 1: minute deals, including pro in college sports. I'm actually opening
- 15:56Speaker 1: the game Time app right now from my house here
- 15:58Speaker 1: in Connecticut. Guess what hottest team in baseball? The New
- 16:01Speaker 1: York Yankees. I can get into see them for thirty bucks.
- 16:07Speaker 1: No matter where you live. Download the game Time app.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Get out have some fun this week. You deserve it.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You can redeem code favorites for twenty dollars off your
- 16:15Speaker 1: first purchase. Terms apply again. Just download the game Time
- 16:19Speaker 1: app and use code favorites for twenty dollars off your
- 16:22Speaker 1: first purchase. Last minute tickets, lowest prices guaranteed. Chris Kansas
- 16:30Speaker 1: City Chiefs. So much turmoil this offseason, receivers getting arrested,
- 16:38Speaker 1: trades for receivers, defensive players, high quality defensive players leaving
- 16:43Speaker 1: the team the Harrison Butcker controversies. Your second most intriguing
- 16:49Speaker 1: move this offseason.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Is Exavier' Worthy going in round number one to the
- 16:57Speaker 2: Kansas City Chiefs, the wide receiver out of Texas. In
- 17:01Speaker 2: listen it, we don't know if he's going to pan
- 17:04Speaker 2: out for sure. You know, there's a reason he wasn't
- 17:06Speaker 2: taken in the top ten or whatever, and some people
- 17:09Speaker 2: even thought they may have reached a little. But the
- 17:12Speaker 2: thing I like about this move well, a couple of things.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Number one, a four to twenty one forty essentially the
- 17:18Speaker 2: fastest player ever recorded at the combine. So you're taking
- 17:22Speaker 2: outlier speed at receiver and you're combining it with the
- 17:26Speaker 2: most outlier of outliers at quarterback. And I mean, if
- 17:30Speaker 2: you want to be fair an outlier at head coach
- 17:32Speaker 2: and schemer play call or whatever you want to call
- 17:34Speaker 2: it as well. So I just like that combination. In
- 17:38Speaker 2: fantasy you're looking for upside, best ball, redraft or whatever,
- 17:41Speaker 2: you're still looking for upside regardless. Xavier Worthy's still a
- 17:45Speaker 2: guy that's going, you know, outside of the top thirty
- 17:48Speaker 2: six receivers in most drafts, so I think the price
- 17:52Speaker 2: is right, and then Rashi Rice is just helping his
- 17:56Speaker 2: cause because Rashi Rice is almost certainly going to face
- 17:59Speaker 2: something type of suspension barring like his legal cases just
- 18:03Speaker 2: get held up and the suspension doesn't come till next year.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But almost certainly he's gonna get a multi game suspension.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Now we're starting to hear whispers that the Chiefs are
- 18:13Speaker 2: expecting him to be out for at least half a season. Now,
- 18:16Speaker 2: remember Rashid Rice. Over the second half of the year,
- 18:18Speaker 2: he was playing on ninety percent of the snaps and
- 18:21Speaker 2: he was catching you know, five six seven balls a game,
- 18:23Speaker 2: So that's a big loss. It opens up just a
- 18:26Speaker 2: lot of potential usage for Worthy, who is the highest
- 18:31Speaker 2: wide receiver ever drafted in the Andy Reid ever ever
- 18:34Speaker 2: drafted in the Rep Beach era. So that tells you
- 18:37Speaker 2: what they think of this guy. And if there's anybody
- 18:39Speaker 2: you're gonna pair him with, like, you know, maybe he
- 18:41Speaker 2: might not be good on any other team, but Patrick Mahomes,
- 18:44Speaker 2: Andy Reid and some some targets up for grabs because
- 18:48Speaker 2: you know, Canarios Tony sky Moore. I think that ship
- 18:51Speaker 2: has sailed, So I mean you're really and Charles Kelsey's
- 18:54Speaker 2: thirty five. Staun is going to talk about Marquise Brown,
- 18:58Speaker 2: who's an intriguing but you know outside and that's his
- 19:02Speaker 2: first year with the team. There's just a massive opportunity.
- 19:04Speaker 2: That's what you're looking for in fantasy, you know, opportunity
- 19:08Speaker 2: and some talent, and you got both in spades with
- 19:11Speaker 2: Xavier Worthy.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Well, someone that's own sky more painful, painful. I mean,
- 19:17Speaker 3: oh my god, you just gave me PTSD saying that name.
- 19:20Speaker 3: So yeah, this is the hope, right when you draft
- 19:22Speaker 3: guys like this, especially in best ball, It's like he
- 19:25Speaker 3: could be the d Shawn Jackson type, right, like the
- 19:28Speaker 3: one or two catches a game and if one of
- 19:30Speaker 3: them breaks, especially the new kick returning right, I mean
- 19:33Speaker 3: sometimes I'd love to ask you guys about fantasy at
- 19:35Speaker 3: the end, but like that could be a huge deal, right,
- 19:37Speaker 3: the new rules changing the kickoff, This could be a
- 19:40Speaker 3: huge thing in fantasy football. I mean we haven't even
- 19:42Speaker 3: talked about that, but like in the old days, I
- 19:45Speaker 3: mean people that might be too young to remember it.
- 19:47Speaker 3: I mean, Chad remembers that Devin Hester Bears defense was
- 19:50Speaker 3: a game changer in fantasy football and because the guy's
- 19:54Speaker 3: a Devin Hester and this is another guy where you've
- 19:56Speaker 3: seen him in practice here worthy of returning punts. So yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 3: Chris is dropping a name here people that keep on
- 20:01Speaker 3: your radar, like, this is a guy that you know.
- 20:04Speaker 3: I don't want to be bringing up too much guy
- 20:05Speaker 3: and taking them on best ball, but he's a great,
- 20:07Speaker 3: sneaky pick. I got get a lot of touches. But Sean,
- 20:10Speaker 3: can you top it? Who's your number two?
- 20:13Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 20:13Speaker 5: My number two's Lad McConkie out of Georgia being drafted
- 20:17Speaker 5: by the Chargers in the second round. And it was
- 20:21Speaker 5: almost exactly a year ago today I was talking about
- 20:24Speaker 5: Samuel Porta of the lines in the second round is
- 20:26Speaker 5: one of my favorite landing spots. This gives me similar
- 20:29Speaker 5: vibes because I was high on mcconkeye going into the
- 20:32Speaker 5: draft and then just love the landing spot.
- 20:34Speaker 4: You know.
- 20:34Speaker 5: He gives me Julian Edellin vibes. Where he could line
- 20:38Speaker 5: up in the slot, he can line up outside. He
- 20:40Speaker 5: has four point three to nine speed, so he could
- 20:43Speaker 5: be their top deep threat. But this is a team
- 20:45Speaker 5: in the Chargers that just moved on from Keenan Allen,
- 20:48Speaker 5: Mike Williams and even Austin Eckler, So that's just a
- 20:51Speaker 5: ton of targets available, and you know, I think he's
- 20:55Speaker 5: gonna mainly pick up the Keenan Allen targets, which are
- 20:58Speaker 5: extremely valuable because there's a ton of them. But again,
- 21:01Speaker 5: he could also be a deep threat. And you know
- 21:04Speaker 5: he's competing against Josh Palmer, Quentin Johnson, who was a
- 21:07Speaker 5: disappointment last year, and DJ Sharks, so there's a very
- 21:10Speaker 5: good chance he could be Justin Herbert's number one target
- 21:13Speaker 5: as a rookie.
- 21:14Speaker 4: So this is one of my favorite landing spots from
- 21:17Speaker 4: this draft.
- 21:18Speaker 1: What's interesting about the Chargers is, you know, whatever we've
- 21:22Speaker 1: seen from them offensively the past couple of years, they're
- 21:26Speaker 1: just going to be so different, Like they are not
- 21:29Speaker 1: going to throw the ball downfield with abandon the way
- 21:32Speaker 1: they have the past few years. I think they will
- 21:36Speaker 1: still find ways to play to Herbert's strengths as a
- 21:38Speaker 1: quarterback and what he's really good at, but they're also
- 21:41Speaker 1: going to be able to put him in a position
- 21:42Speaker 1: to succeed much more frequently in high leverage situations. McConkie
- 21:48Speaker 1: is a perfect guy who's an example of what they
- 21:50Speaker 1: could do in those situations. I like it. I like
- 21:54Speaker 1: it a lot. Raybon, hold on, I gotta set up here.
- 22:01Speaker 3: I got to set up here.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, you paused, So I was like, all right,
- 22:05Speaker 2: dead pause.
- 22:06Speaker 3: You did pause.
- 22:08Speaker 1: It's trauma, dramatic pause. The first team that I bet
- 22:15Speaker 1: for for a future's bet to win the Super Bowl
- 22:17Speaker 1: this year, they were I think eighteen to one. Simon
- 22:20Speaker 1: and I talked about in the podcast Cincinnati Bengals. There
- 22:24Speaker 1: is a move that they made that is your third
- 22:28Speaker 1: most intriguing move of the offseason.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and I like this one because, and let me just.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Say, I'm kidding. I'm kidding this one.
- 22:39Speaker 2: And it's Zach Moss going from the Colts to the Bengals.
- 22:44Speaker 2: And remember Joe Mixon got traded to Houston, so Mixon
- 22:50Speaker 2: is another guy that will be able to benefit from
- 22:52Speaker 2: that loaded Houston offense and all the attention being paid
- 22:55Speaker 2: to that passing game. But I want to talk about
- 22:58Speaker 2: Moss to the Bengals because I think he's a perfect
- 23:02Speaker 2: scheme fit to replaced Mixing. And he gave us a
- 23:07Speaker 2: glimpse of what he would look like as a feature
- 23:10Speaker 2: back weeks two through five last year. If you'll remember,
- 23:14Speaker 2: averaged over twenty four touches and over one hundred and
- 23:16Speaker 2: twenty nine scrimmage yards per game over a four game stretch,
- 23:20Speaker 2: with a touchdown per game as well on an eighty
- 23:23Speaker 2: three percent snap rate. So he's he's been able to,
- 23:27Speaker 2: you know, after a rough start to his career in Buffalo,
- 23:29Speaker 2: he's been able to kind of write the ship. He
- 23:32Speaker 2: passes the eye test, and you know he's gonna kind
- 23:36Speaker 2: of slide into that mixing role. I think Chase Brown
- 23:38Speaker 2: will still be there, and he's kind of intriguing as well.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Very explosive guy, but mixing. You know, every year people
- 23:45Speaker 2: wanted to write him off in this Bengals offense, and
- 23:48Speaker 2: all he does is keep putting up, you know, top
- 23:50Speaker 2: fifteen fantasy seasons. And I think Moss has very similar upside.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I mean, Joe Mixon was you know, in some scoring systems,
- 23:59Speaker 2: he was as high as the RB five last year,
- 24:02Speaker 2: the RB seven and half PPR. So that's kind of
- 24:06Speaker 2: upside Moss has. And you know, you hit on a chat.
- 24:09Speaker 2: You know, the Bengals they get this last place schedule,
- 24:13Speaker 2: they get Burrow coming back, you know, they lose one
- 24:17Speaker 2: of their receivers in Tyer Boyd, so you know, maybe
- 24:20Speaker 2: the running game becomes even even more important. So we
- 24:24Speaker 2: know this team is going to move the ball up
- 24:25Speaker 2: and down the field. Mixing had twelve touchdowns total last year.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I think Moss has an outside shot at leading the
- 24:33Speaker 2: league in touchdown because we know how good this offense is.
- 24:35Speaker 2: So I know, I think twelve touchdowns for the Bengals
- 24:38Speaker 2: running back it was actually kind of low. So I
- 24:41Speaker 2: really like Moss here going to Cincinnati. I think it'll
- 24:45Speaker 2: be about a seventy five twenty five or seventy thirty
- 24:48Speaker 2: split between him and Brown. You know, Brown is kind
- 24:52Speaker 2: of best used as like a change of pace, you know,
- 24:54Speaker 2: after Moss kind of you know, wears down the defense.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Brown could break one. But I think Moss will be
- 25:00Speaker 2: the closer. Mass will be the goal lineback, Moss will
- 25:02Speaker 2: be the feature back. So under the radar move of
- 25:08Speaker 2: Cincinnati signing Zach Moss.
- 25:11Speaker 1: So I love Cincinnati. I am going to remember that
- 25:15Speaker 1: you said I kind of nailed it when we get
- 25:18Speaker 1: to convince me and it's the middle of the season
- 25:21Speaker 1: and you're just coming after me for god knows whatever
- 25:25Speaker 1: I say on the show. But I am curious. I'd
- 25:30Speaker 1: like Kerner's take on this and Simon's take on this.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Shane Steichen is clearly one of the better offensive head
- 25:36Speaker 1: coaches and strategists and schemers in the NFL. What he
- 25:40Speaker 1: did with that Colts team last year after Richardson went down,
- 25:44Speaker 1: after Gardner, Minshew became the quarterback, getting them to be
- 25:47Speaker 1: in the position they were, and with a guy like Minshew,
- 25:51Speaker 1: how much do we think Zach Moss in that window
- 25:54Speaker 1: that you're talking about where he did sort of overperform
- 25:56Speaker 1: versus his career benefit from being in that kind of system,
- 26:00Speaker 1: And does that translate to the Bengals coroner give me
- 26:04Speaker 1: your take?
- 26:05Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I think I think that's a great point.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Certainly he benefited from the scheme, but you could just
- 26:10Speaker 5: see how well he did compared to Jonathan Taylor, who's
- 26:13Speaker 5: still one of the best running backs in the game,
- 26:16Speaker 5: and he looked every bit as good as JT. I mean,
- 26:18Speaker 5: it was kind of comical how they finally gave JT
- 26:21Speaker 5: that big contract and Zach Moss looked like the best
- 26:23Speaker 5: running back of the league once that happened. So I
- 26:26Speaker 5: think just comparatively, you know, Zach Moss is keeping up
- 26:28Speaker 5: with Jonathan Taylor. So even if he did benefit from
- 26:31Speaker 5: the scheme, he is a really good back. I mean,
- 26:33Speaker 5: it's crazy because he had a slow start in Buffalo,
- 26:37Speaker 5: kind of bouncing around, but you know, he was a
- 26:39Speaker 5: highly touted back coming out of college. So I just
- 26:42Speaker 5: think last year kind of proved that he does kind
- 26:44Speaker 5: of have the talent that could translate in a different scheme.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Yeah, this is is where I make my money, Chad,
- 26:49Speaker 3: if you don't again, Shawan here Chris, great fantasy expert.
- 26:54Speaker 3: A lot of guys are kind of full of shit
- 26:55Speaker 3: in this industry. You can Pikett spots with these running
- 26:59Speaker 3: backs where it's like Raheem Mostert's perfect example. The man
- 27:02Speaker 3: was in an incredible opportunity last year. You get him
- 27:04Speaker 3: in the ninth round. David Montgomery an incredible opportunity, could
- 27:08Speaker 3: get him in the eighth and ninth round. Same thing here.
- 27:10Speaker 3: This guy could be a bus dude. This guy could
- 27:12Speaker 3: get you zero points, or he could be a top
- 27:15Speaker 3: five running back. Like that's the upside with these kind
- 27:17Speaker 3: of guys. So it's a guy you don't have to
- 27:19Speaker 3: grab them in every league you want to own loss
- 27:21Speaker 3: in a couple of different leagues. I don't think the Colts.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I think just showed his athleticism, how good of a
- 27:25Speaker 3: skilled player he is. It's all about opportunity with a
- 27:28Speaker 3: lot these running backs. A lot of these guys are
- 27:29Speaker 3: such great athletes. It's just can they have the opportunity
- 27:32Speaker 3: and a good offense of the good offensive line. So
- 27:34Speaker 3: Moss would get you zero points people, but his upside
- 27:37Speaker 3: is really high.
- 27:37Speaker 4: So definite.
- 27:38Speaker 3: THK. I've been grabbing a lot of.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Leagues, Simon. Before you asked Croner about his next pick,
- 27:42Speaker 1: I just wanted to note Kroner also said I made
- 27:44Speaker 1: a really good point, and I would like to say
- 27:47Speaker 1: right now, very possible. In early February of twenty twenty five,
- 27:55Speaker 1: the four of us are on the show Convince me
- 28:00Speaker 1: we are talking about is their value on Zach Moss
- 28:04Speaker 1: to win Super Bowl MVPs when the Bengals are playing
- 28:09Speaker 1: the Eagles.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Saying I'm still going to t Higgins at sixty to one.
- 28:15Speaker 1: There you go me, by the way, Sonny, go.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Ahead, Yeah, I mean steps stay on the running back, Sean,
- 28:23Speaker 3: who you got for us next?
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:25Speaker 5: So I'm going with Josh Jacobs going to the Packers.
- 28:29Speaker 5: You know, Jacobs is coming off a down year, but
- 28:32Speaker 5: he's he's still on the tail end of his prime
- 28:34Speaker 5: at twenty six, and he's potentially going to be a
- 28:36Speaker 5: workhorse back in offense that should continue to trend up
- 28:39Speaker 5: this year. But I think the intriguing part of this
- 28:42Speaker 5: move is it essentially gave us three teams with the
- 28:45Speaker 5: new started running back because now that Jacobs is no
- 28:49Speaker 5: longer in Vegas, thirty year back Zamier White will probably
- 28:53Speaker 5: be their workhorse back and he was very impressive last
- 28:56Speaker 5: season when he was asked to step up. And you know,
- 29:00Speaker 5: after the Packers signed Josh Jacobs, they released Aaron Jones,
- 29:04Speaker 5: who then ended up in their NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings.
- 29:09Speaker 5: So he's going to be the Vikings lead back this year,
- 29:12Speaker 5: which is going to be interesting for a couple of
- 29:14Speaker 5: games when they faced the Packers. But I love this
- 29:17Speaker 5: movie because it gave us three new starting running backs
- 29:19Speaker 5: for teams. That's always fun to be projecting teams when
- 29:22Speaker 5: they have a new started running back, So this move
- 29:25Speaker 5: gave us three of them.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I wonder what's going to happen, Like he is just
- 29:30Speaker 1: not the same receiver out of the backfield that they've
- 29:36Speaker 1: had in the past. I'm curious about this fit as
- 29:41Speaker 1: it impacts the overall season for the Packers. Simon and
- 29:45Speaker 1: I have been talking about that one a lot. Ray
- 29:47Speaker 1: Bun Number four involves the Washington Commanders.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean last year we saw, you know, it
- 29:59Speaker 2: wasn't the number one quarterback who did work in fantasy
- 30:03Speaker 2: in real life, it was the number two. And this
- 30:05Speaker 2: year that number two pick, Jayden Daniels. I just think
- 30:09Speaker 2: he's another guy here who you have to invest in
- 30:13Speaker 2: in fantasy because of his rushing upside. Now, you know,
- 30:18Speaker 2: he could be really bad. He could be justin fields
- 30:21Speaker 2: two point zero or something like that and be terrible.
- 30:23Speaker 2: But in fantasy again, especially when you're picking a quarterback
- 30:27Speaker 2: outside the top ten, outside the top twelve, where you
- 30:29Speaker 2: can get Daniels in a bunch of drafts. Still, when
- 30:32Speaker 2: you're picking a guy late like that at quarterback, you're
- 30:35Speaker 2: looking for upside, and Jayden Daniels has the upside to
- 30:39Speaker 2: put up similar numbers to a guy like Anthony Richardson,
- 30:42Speaker 2: who goes as high as the quarterback six quarterback seven
- 30:46Speaker 2: in some draft. You know, Jadeen Daniels has the upside
- 30:50Speaker 2: because of his rushing to put up more points than
- 30:54Speaker 2: a guy like a Jordan Love, who's more of a
- 30:56Speaker 2: you know, he runs a little bit, but not you know,
- 30:59Speaker 2: you wouldn't consider him a scrambling quarterback, you know, guys
- 31:01Speaker 2: like that. So I think Jayden Daniels going to a
- 31:04Speaker 2: place where, you know, like Camleb Williams, there's all the
- 31:07Speaker 2: hype because they drafted Roma doones they wear is like
- 31:10Speaker 2: jayde and Daniels is going to a pretty bad team,
- 31:12Speaker 2: so you know they should have decent passing volume. The
- 31:16Speaker 2: receivers are solid. You know, Terry mclaurin's very good. Dotson
- 31:20Speaker 2: still has some upside, but you know, you'll know he'll
- 31:23Speaker 2: still be scrambling a ton. So and this guy he
- 31:27Speaker 2: actually threw the ball. He was a very good passer
- 31:30Speaker 2: in school as well. Now will that translate that remains
- 31:33Speaker 2: to be seen. But he's also got Austin eckwer low Key,
- 31:37Speaker 2: you know, a guy who can help him in the
- 31:38Speaker 2: receiving game as well. So I just like Jaden Daniels
- 31:42Speaker 2: here and the upside that he brings to just another
- 31:45Speaker 2: late round quarterback selection. You know, there was a couple
- 31:48Speaker 2: of years in there where you kind of had to
- 31:51Speaker 2: start drafting quarterbacks a little higher. You know, guys like
- 31:54Speaker 2: Homes and Hurts and Borough were dominating and Herbert, but
- 31:58Speaker 2: now quarterback it's pretty so I think this year I
- 32:02Speaker 2: find myself waiting almost every draft at quarterback because you
- 32:06Speaker 2: want to take your shots at those received wide receivers
- 32:09Speaker 2: and those running backs, and I mean tight end is
- 32:11Speaker 2: a nightmare too. So if you're going to spend a
- 32:14Speaker 2: premium pick on one of those positions where you only
- 32:17Speaker 2: have to start one per week, then I would rather
- 32:21Speaker 2: do it at tight end and wait on a quarterback.
- 32:23Speaker 2: And if I'm getting a guy like CJ. Stroud or
- 32:25Speaker 2: a guy like Jayden Daniels, I'll take that upside every time.
- 32:30Speaker 1: When did you, guys, you just had some aggressive Justin
- 32:34Speaker 1: Fields violence and for a lot of people, it was
- 32:40Speaker 1: down to the wire in the end of the season
- 32:43Speaker 1: before the Bears were making a choice of keeping Justin
- 32:45Speaker 1: Fields or deciding they were going to go for Caleb Williams.
- 32:49Speaker 1: From your Metrics, Raybond and Kroner, I'm curious, when did
- 32:53Speaker 1: you see sort of the most precipitous decline with Justin Fields.
- 32:56Speaker 1: When was it clear to you, guys, he's not the answer.
- 33:01Speaker 2: And I think. I don't think Justin Fields necessarily declined.
- 33:05Speaker 2: I think he started. He actually took a while to
- 33:07Speaker 2: get going. If you remember his first few starts, they
- 33:11Speaker 2: barely let him throw the ball, and so he was
- 33:13Speaker 2: putting up like literally nothing as a passer. And then eventually,
- 33:18Speaker 2: like I actually thought, he improved over his tenure in Chicago.
- 33:23Speaker 2: But you know, it's nothing like getting the number one
- 33:26Speaker 2: overall pick in Kayo Williams. I do think it's it's
- 33:29Speaker 2: kind of it strikes me as odd that Pittsburgh has essentially,
- 33:35Speaker 2: you know, according to them anyway, decided that Russell Wilson's
- 33:38Speaker 2: gonna be their guy. In fields has no chance to
- 33:40Speaker 2: win this job. Because I'm not so sure Justin Fields
- 33:44Speaker 2: isn't or can't be better than Russell Wilson this year
- 33:50Speaker 2: as early as week one, so if he's not better already,
- 33:52Speaker 2: so I think. But the thing about Fields is, I
- 33:55Speaker 2: just think processing. I think he takes too long. I
- 33:57Speaker 2: think if you if you want to look at metrics,
- 33:59Speaker 2: I think it's you know, time to throw. You know,
- 34:03Speaker 2: that's where he really struggles. He's just not processing as
- 34:06Speaker 2: fast as you compare that to a guy like C. J. Stroud,
- 34:09Speaker 2: who it took him two weeks to get up to speed.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I think he got sacked like nine times, like Simon
- 34:14Speaker 2: talked about after that battle line didn't matter because he
- 34:17Speaker 2: can anticipate throws. That's why c J. Stroud is gonna
- 34:20Speaker 2: be good and we're not worried about regression. Anticipation. That's
- 34:24Speaker 2: what Justin Fields doesn't have, probably will never have. But
- 34:27Speaker 2: in fantasy, still plenty, plenty of rushing upside to to
- 34:32Speaker 2: land himself in the top ten or even top five
- 34:35Speaker 2: most weeks.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Gonan, what about you?
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah, No, I agree with Raybond. It's his processing.
- 34:42Speaker 5: He probably lean on his rushing upside, you know, probably
- 34:44Speaker 5: too much, but that was great for fantasy. But also
- 34:47Speaker 5: the Bears didn't really set him up for success like
- 34:50Speaker 5: they are with Caleb Blows right now. I mean, he
- 34:52Speaker 5: was throwing when he was rookies, throwing to Darnell Mooney
- 34:54Speaker 5: and the already washed you know, Alan Robinson, Marquise Goodwin,
- 34:58Speaker 5: whereas you know Caleb Williams had as DJ Moore, Keenan
- 35:01Speaker 5: Allen and Romo Doonese. So I mean they're just setting
- 35:05Speaker 5: up Caleb Williams for success a lot early on. So
- 35:09Speaker 5: I can't fault fields for all of that, but you know,
- 35:13Speaker 5: Gilds is great for fantasy.
- 35:14Speaker 4: I have no issue with justin fields when it comes
- 35:16Speaker 4: with fantasy.
- 35:19Speaker 1: All right, Crooner, give us your fourth.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:21Speaker 5: So it's Marquise Brown to the Chiefs. Piggybacking what you
- 35:26Speaker 5: know Raybaund said about Xavier Worthy. This is just a
- 35:29Speaker 5: great spot anytime you have somebody going to play with
- 35:32Speaker 5: Patrick Mahomes, that's that's a huge upgrade. But also, as
- 35:35Speaker 5: Raybon mentioned, you know, Rashie Rice is in some pretty
- 35:38Speaker 5: significant legal trouble. Who knows if or how many games
- 35:41Speaker 5: he will get suspended, but I could see them maybe
- 35:44Speaker 5: leaning on Brown early on. You know, I like Xavier
- 35:47Speaker 5: Worthy a lot. You know, he has a ton of speed,
- 35:49Speaker 5: but his you know, route running, his route tree might
- 35:51Speaker 5: be a little bit more simple to start, So I
- 35:54Speaker 5: think Brown might be his top receiver to start. So,
- 35:58Speaker 5: which is when Rahie Rice will potentially be missed games.
- 36:00Speaker 5: So I thought markis Brown was a great learning spot
- 36:02Speaker 5: for him and for the Chiefs. It does give them
- 36:04Speaker 5: insurance in case Rice does get suspended. So similar to
- 36:08Speaker 5: what Ravonn was saying, I think, you know, Brown and
- 36:10Speaker 5: Worthy to the Chiefs. Was two really intriguing moves this offseason.
- 36:15Speaker 1: You skipped one, Oh I did Jonathan Brooks to Carolina.
- 36:20Speaker 5: Oh okay, well I'll talk about that. Yeah, Jonathan Brooks
- 36:24Speaker 5: being drafted by the Panthers. You know, he was arguably
- 36:26Speaker 5: the top running back in this class, but he suffered
- 36:30Speaker 5: an ACL tear in November, so you know, he might
- 36:33Speaker 5: not be one hundred percent four week one, but you know,
- 36:37Speaker 5: this was a good landing spot. I thought the Cowboys
- 36:39Speaker 5: would have been the best landing spot, but this is
- 36:41Speaker 5: probably the second one because he's gonna have to compete
- 36:43Speaker 5: with Chewba Hubbard and Miles Sanders. So I think once
- 36:47Speaker 5: he is fully healthy, he's going to be the lead
- 36:49Speaker 5: back here. And again, when I was watching his tape
- 36:51Speaker 5: at Texas, I just kept thinking Todd Gurley. He reminds
- 36:55Speaker 5: me of Todd Gurley. That's how good I think he
- 36:57Speaker 5: could be. So this is an offense that could be
- 37:00Speaker 5: better this year. I mean, we picked on the Panthers
- 37:02Speaker 5: all last year, but this year, you know, under Dave Canalis,
- 37:06Speaker 5: it could be a lot better and Jonathan Brooks could
- 37:09Speaker 5: benefit from that and he could help, you know, open
- 37:11Speaker 5: things up for Bryce singing as well. But you know,
- 37:14Speaker 5: Brooks is one of my favorite running back prospects in
- 37:16Speaker 5: this class, and he landed in a pretty solid spot
- 37:19Speaker 5: to be a workhorse back.
- 37:21Speaker 1: You were in such mid season form, Croner, that you
- 37:25Speaker 1: transitioned perfectly into Raybond's fifth and final most intriguing move
- 37:30Speaker 1: of the offseason.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I like Sean alluded to it. With Dave Canalis
- 37:37Speaker 2: coming over from Tampa Bay as the offensive coordinator, now
- 37:41Speaker 2: he's the head coach in Carolina, obviously going to have
- 37:44Speaker 2: his fingerprints all over this offense, and I think that's
- 37:48Speaker 2: really important for a couple of reasons. The first is
- 37:51Speaker 2: Canalis is building up a track record of being a
- 37:55Speaker 2: quarterback whisperer. So he's been working with Gino Smith in
- 38:00Speaker 2: Seattle pretty much Smith's entire tenure there, and he's the
- 38:05Speaker 2: one that really receives credit for that massive turnaround that
- 38:08Speaker 2: Gino had a couple of years ago, and then last year,
- 38:12Speaker 2: you know, when he got the job in Tampa Bay,
- 38:14Speaker 2: off the strength of that Gino turnaround, Gino's numbers dropped
- 38:18Speaker 2: across the board pretty much. It was subtle, but they
- 38:21Speaker 2: did drop. And that's even with you know better receiving
- 38:23Speaker 2: core because you had Jackson Smith and Jigba a first
- 38:25Speaker 2: round pick, and then he goes to Tampa Bay as
- 38:28Speaker 2: the offensive coordinator and Baker Mayfield has a career year
- 38:33Speaker 2: after he's bouncing around. I mean I went to a
- 38:36Speaker 2: game out here, and you know, he was playing the
- 38:39Speaker 2: Raiders with the Rams on like two days. He had
- 38:42Speaker 2: just flown in like the day before or something like that.
- 38:44Speaker 2: He was learning to playbook on a flight. And now
- 38:46Speaker 2: he's having a career year weeding the Bucks to a
- 38:48Speaker 2: playoff win. Not just a playoffs, but a playoff win
- 38:51Speaker 2: over the defending NFC champion. So I think that this guy,
- 38:55Speaker 2: if anyone's going to turn around Bryce Young and I
- 38:57Speaker 2: was way down on the Panthers last year. I mean,
- 39:00Speaker 2: they were the team that I just could not understand
- 39:02Speaker 2: their win total at all. I couldn't understand why anyone
- 39:06Speaker 2: was investing anything. And I just thought they set rising
- 39:08Speaker 2: up to fail last year. You know, bad offensive line,
- 39:11Speaker 2: no speed, no just just just a terrible situation. Frank
- 39:16Speaker 2: Wright one of the worst coaches. Now you got Canalis
- 39:21Speaker 2: working with young Deontay Johnson, who's one of the best
- 39:26Speaker 2: route runners in the league coming over from Pittsburgh underrated movee.
- 39:31Speaker 2: I like Johnson. I think he could out kick his
- 39:33Speaker 2: ADP as usually going around wide receiver, you know, thirty
- 39:37Speaker 2: five to forty. I think he could finish in the
- 39:40Speaker 2: top fifteen, top twenty, because we saw that with Adam
- 39:44Speaker 2: Dewen last year. Even on this you know, terrible offense,
- 39:47Speaker 2: Adam Dealen still managed to be a very valuable the
- 39:50Speaker 2: ghost of Adam Thavan, I should say, managed to be
- 39:53Speaker 2: a very valuable fantasy receiver last year. Deontay Johnson at
- 39:57Speaker 2: this he's in his prime. You know. I know it
- 39:59Speaker 2: didn't show and Paysburg, but so that I think that's
- 40:02Speaker 2: a real positive development. Sean already mentioned Brooks. You revamped
- 40:05Speaker 2: the offensive line. You went out and spent you know,
- 40:07Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty million dollars on interior lineman. Robert
- 40:12Speaker 2: Robert Hunt comes over from Miami, and then you got
- 40:15Speaker 2: Damian Lewis coming over from Seattle. And that's really important
- 40:18Speaker 2: for Bryce down because he's short. So interior pressure big
- 40:22Speaker 2: problem because their tackles are fine a Quandu and Moton,
- 40:25Speaker 2: but their interior line was one of the worst we've
- 40:27Speaker 2: seen this decade last year. So pretty much everything about
- 40:31Speaker 2: the Panthers offense is night and day. You also drafted
- 40:35Speaker 2: a rookie, Xavier Laguette, who I think is already better
- 40:39Speaker 2: than Jonathan Mingo. So they now have a formidable receiving corps.
- 40:44Speaker 2: They have some some juice in the backfield. They'll have
- 40:47Speaker 2: Young protected, and they have a guy that's proven to
- 40:51Speaker 2: take guys that we had no hope for and turn
- 40:54Speaker 2: these guys into you know, above average starters. And you're
- 40:58Speaker 2: looking at Bryce Young, who is a number one overall pick.
- 41:00Speaker 2: So the talent is there. I think you could see
- 41:03Speaker 2: a big turnaround. And that, Simon is why the Giants
- 41:07Speaker 2: aren't my favorite, ugly, disgusting, best ball late round stack
- 41:11Speaker 2: because you can get Bryce Young outside the top twenty quarterbacks.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Deontay Johnson is their highest drafted receiver. His ADP's like
- 41:19Speaker 2: wide receiver thirty five, wide receiver forty. All their other
- 41:22Speaker 2: receivers are lower than that. Their tight ends probably aren't
- 41:25Speaker 2: gonna be of much consequence. I like Sanders the rookie,
- 41:28Speaker 2: but you know, rookie tight ends, especially you know in
- 41:30Speaker 2: the middle rounds, probably not gonna do much. So I
- 41:34Speaker 2: think you could stack Young and his receiver and you know, Johnson,
- 41:38Speaker 2: Thielen and we get and all those guys are easy
- 41:41Speaker 2: to draft. You're not really competing with people. Once you
- 41:43Speaker 2: get one or two of them, people probably aren't gonna
- 41:46Speaker 2: be rushing to draft the other guys. They're gonna leave
- 41:48Speaker 2: them for you because no one's stacking the Carolina Panthers.
- 41:51Speaker 2: So I think it's a low risk, high reward bet
- 41:56Speaker 2: that you can make in best ball and then in redraft.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I think people will be I think Johnson will be
- 42:02Speaker 2: very consistent, kind of like Dewhen was over the first
- 42:06Speaker 2: half of last season before he ran out of gas.
- 42:09Speaker 1: So three things. One, Adam Thielen might have won us
- 42:13Speaker 1: a couple of bets last year in that street where
- 42:15Speaker 1: we were betting the Panthers every single week. Two, you've
- 42:19Speaker 1: just convinced me we're going to bet the Panthers every
- 42:21Speaker 1: single week again. I believe they're five point underdogs and
- 42:24Speaker 1: it's the Saints in week one.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Three.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Everything about the Panthers is night and day, except Bryce
- 42:29Speaker 1: Young is still under six feet tall. Simon your question.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Yeah, so you know we all have a guy, right,
- 42:36Speaker 3: I got a guy who does a lot of research
- 42:38Speaker 3: working for fantasy and when he gave me his sheet
- 42:42Speaker 3: a month ago. I was shocked to see how different
- 42:44Speaker 3: his view of the running back position and just the
- 42:46Speaker 3: overall fantasy giz this year. So I love you guys
- 42:49Speaker 3: your opinion on it. His one through fifty rankings. His
- 42:52Speaker 3: number one is a macaffe. Everyone's got that. His number
- 42:55Speaker 3: two is Robinson, the running back for Atlanta, and his
- 42:58Speaker 3: number three was Barkley And people right now again Barkley
- 43:02Speaker 3: in the middle of the second round to the end
- 43:04Speaker 3: of the second round. His whole view is Barkley was
- 43:07Speaker 3: going top five, top eight his whole career on the Giants.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Now he's on the Eagles, the best offensive line he's
- 43:14Speaker 3: ever had, on one of the best offense he's ever
- 43:15Speaker 3: been a part of. And now he's a middle to
- 43:17Speaker 3: late round, second round pick. What's the view of Barkley?
- 43:20Speaker 3: Why is he going outside of the first round? Like,
- 43:23Speaker 3: why are people not buying in on Barkley on arkably
- 43:26Speaker 3: the best offense he'll ever be on in his career?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Turner you first, maybe just.
- 43:33Speaker 5: His touch on upside is limited because anytime they get
- 43:36Speaker 5: near the goal line, that's going to be a toush
- 43:37Speaker 5: push play. And maybe his receiving upside is limited because
- 43:41Speaker 5: Jalen Hurts tends to scramble, he doesn't check down his
- 43:43Speaker 5: running backs. But I agree it is a better situation
- 43:47Speaker 5: in terms of efficiency. I mean, he's going to have
- 43:49Speaker 5: a really good offensive line compared to what he's used
- 43:51Speaker 5: to seeing.
- 43:52Speaker 4: I have number four.
- 43:53Speaker 5: I think you could argue, you know, like Brisall, I
- 43:55Speaker 5: love Bresaw, He's my number two back. I think Jonathan
- 43:58Speaker 5: Taylor is back in the mix to be a top
- 44:00Speaker 5: three back. So I think just that tier, I don't
- 44:03Speaker 5: think you go wrong with anybody, but I think when
- 44:05Speaker 5: it comes to Barkley, just his upside is limited just
- 44:08Speaker 5: in terms of touchdowns and receptions. But he is a
- 44:11Speaker 5: guy that hasn't really banked on a ton of touchdowns anyway.
- 44:15Speaker 5: I think he's going to see the volume you want
- 44:17Speaker 5: and need in a top five back. So I think
- 44:19Speaker 5: he has a very high floor. But again, I think
- 44:21Speaker 5: his ceiling could be a little bit limited.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Ray Bon, Yeah, I'm higher than consensus on Barkley as well.
- 44:29Speaker 2: But you know, I don't think you need to spend
- 44:32Speaker 2: and that's a lesson that we you know, Sean and
- 44:34Speaker 2: I talk about this every year when we do our
- 44:37Speaker 2: kind of you know, Fantasy one oh one, Fantasy Flex Pod.
- 44:41Speaker 2: But just because a guy is ranked in a certain
- 44:44Speaker 2: spot doesn't mean you need to draft him there. And
- 44:47Speaker 2: I know that might sound confusing to some people, but Okay,
- 44:49Speaker 2: if Saguon Barkley is going you know, mid l eight
- 44:53Speaker 2: second round and you have him ranked top five, you know,
- 44:57Speaker 2: if you're drafting in the early second round or even
- 45:01Speaker 2: you know, early to mid second round, like, you don't
- 45:03Speaker 2: have to use your first round pick on him just
- 45:04Speaker 2: because he's ranked number five. You can, it's just you're
- 45:07Speaker 2: essentially getting two first round picks if you wait. So
- 45:10Speaker 2: I am higher. But I do agree with what Sean said.
- 45:13Speaker 2: I think it's really important to note that scrambling quarterbacks
- 45:17Speaker 2: in general are not going to check down to running
- 45:22Speaker 2: backs as much. Now Barki, they could still design screens
- 45:25Speaker 2: and things for him, but Philadelphia had a real issue
- 45:30Speaker 2: picking up the Blitz last year, so I would think
- 45:33Speaker 2: that bark we may also have to stay in a
- 45:34Speaker 2: block some But at the same time, Philadelphia, you know,
- 45:40Speaker 2: in one of the best Rothersman, one of the best
- 45:42Speaker 2: gms in the you know, in football, he invested heavily
- 45:48Speaker 2: in a running back, which you know, a lot of
- 45:49Speaker 2: the analytics people kind of look down on and this
- 45:52Speaker 2: is not just a you know, investing heavy in a
- 45:55Speaker 2: running back. This is a guy who is entering his
- 45:58Speaker 2: age twenty seven season and entering his seventh year in
- 46:03Speaker 2: the league, and he has had his share of injuries.
- 46:06Speaker 2: He does have you know, fifteen over fifteen hundred career
- 46:09Speaker 2: touches when you include the postseason, so there is somewhere.
- 46:14Speaker 2: But I think Philadelphia they wouldn't have invested this much
- 46:16Speaker 2: if they weren't intending to kind of use him and
- 46:20Speaker 2: run him into the ground. Or the offensive line also
- 46:22Speaker 2: not as good as it's been. You know, you got
- 46:24Speaker 2: the the Kelsey retirement and things like that, but still
- 46:28Speaker 2: night and day better than the Giants. So yeah, I'm
- 46:30Speaker 2: I think I think Barkley is being a little bit undervalued.
- 46:34Speaker 2: But I kind of agree with Sean said, I think
- 46:36Speaker 2: the floor is just very high because you know how
- 46:39Speaker 2: they're going to use him. You know, he's gonna get
- 46:41Speaker 2: a ton of snaps. He's never averaged, you know, but
- 46:44Speaker 2: for his career, he's around like, you know, nineteen twenty
- 46:48Speaker 2: touches per game, so he's gonna get a ton of work.
- 46:50Speaker 2: He'll be fine. I don't think you need to spend
- 46:52Speaker 2: a top five pick on him, though. I just take
- 46:54Speaker 2: him if i'm early, you know, early second, I'd take
- 46:58Speaker 2: him there.
- 46:58Speaker 3: And some in whispers, just for the fancy heads out there,
- 47:00Speaker 3: some whispers that he's been taking snaps in the Toush
- 47:03Speaker 3: push position, so we look like Barkley might be taking
- 47:07Speaker 3: the Toush push.
- 47:09Speaker 2: That would change everything.
- 47:11Speaker 1: I've done enough shows with Simon to know when he
- 47:15Speaker 1: says there have been whispers, what he's really saying is
- 47:20Speaker 1: I got someone who's basically snapping the ball that Jalen hurts,
- 47:26Speaker 1: and I'm on the practice field right now.
- 47:30Speaker 3: To be careful, Seriannis has a lot of crazy shitch
- 47:32Speaker 3: so I don't want to go too crazy. But he
- 47:34Speaker 3: apparently was the one that's been saying it.
- 47:36Speaker 2: It makes sense because like Jalen Hurts, you know, you
- 47:40Speaker 2: want his long term health. You want him to be
- 47:43Speaker 2: healthy long term. So Barkley's like, you're already gonna use
- 47:46Speaker 2: him to the wheels fall off anyway, He's already twenty
- 47:48Speaker 2: twenty seven, you might as well just use him on
- 47:50Speaker 2: some pushes.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I cannot believe that Saquon Barkley is already in
- 47:55Speaker 1: his seventh year.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you said that, Like literally my stomach drop over.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Yeah, It's like I feel like he just started playing yesterday.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I like that we started the show with a lot
- 48:05Speaker 1: of Giants love and Ray Bond and back to back
- 48:08Speaker 1: segments just lays it on Thick that he likes the
- 48:11Speaker 1: Panthers more is his ugly team than the Giants, and
- 48:14Speaker 1: then talked about how bad the Giants are compared to
- 48:17Speaker 1: the Eagles Nick Seriani. When Giants fans are going after
- 48:21Speaker 1: him and trash tracking him, he ends it by saying,
- 48:24Speaker 1: we've got your best player. I think that's going to
- 48:27Speaker 1: be a really fun rivalry this year. And if there
- 48:30Speaker 1: is going to be a Saquon Tush push boy, that's
- 48:34Speaker 1: gonna be the game to do it. As a reminder,
