- 0:52Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh, so it's been a busy time.
- 0:54Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh rehearsing for the uh upcoming tour.
- 1:01Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh it's been pretty grueling on uh um us.
- 1:09Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And uh it's uh it's gonna be it's gonna be fun.
- 1:15Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: It's gonna be fun.
- 1:17Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh we'll be seeing a lot of you.
- 1:22Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh can't say a whole lot more than that.
- 1:26Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh but be on the be on the lookout.
- 1:31Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Um it's uh it's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 1:35Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Looking forward to it.
- 1:39Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So we haven't been with you for a little bit, but we've taken the time that we've had to do the the rehearsals um in instead of shows.
- 1:53Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So we haven't we haven't done a show like maybe in a week, week and a half.
- 1:59Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh it's okay.
- 2:04Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Still have over 500 episodes, so uh nothing nothing else uh will change that.
- 2:15Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh so thank you for making voices for voices, uh, who we are, and helping people across the world, as is our big goal is to reach and help at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond.
- 2:39Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh you know, as we've as we've shared uh quite a bit throughout the course of our organization and our show that we want to just help people, that story, experiences, whatever it may be.
- 3:05Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And I I think I think life is I think life's hard.
- 3:17Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I think life's hard for everybody, not not just using it as an excuse.
- 3:24Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I think it's just hard.
- 3:26Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: There's there's just so many different decisions that uh we make and then we sometimes immediately see what the uh what the I'll say what the answer is, uh, but we we get that you know immediate feedback, and sometimes we don't, and when we don't get that immediate feedback, for me that's that's the hardest.
- 4:08Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh because I am a person that looks for validation and wants to know if I'm on the right track or not, and that's why I think it's so important for everybody, not just me.
- 4:35Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I think it's important for everybody to have someone they can talk to, somebody that's not going to judge, somebody that we can talk to and share what's going on in our lives.
- 4:53Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And again, that's that's not gonna not gonna not gonna judge us.
- 5:02Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh because I think a lot of times we do get we get judged whether intentionally or unintentionally.
- 5:21Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And I think that's that's the big thing to think about is man, can I just talk to somebody?
- 5:30Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Can I just share what's what's happening or what has happened, what's on my mind.
- 5:41Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And for me, you know, therapy, counseling, whatever we want to refer to it as, it's helpful just to talk about things, and so I I'm not talking about this, like, oh, I'm this high and mighty person because I I go to therapy.
- 6:09Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Actually, very much the opposite.
- 6:16Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I for so many years was just so hard-nosed and didn't want to go, didn't want to do it, and and again, it took a kind of a catastrophic series of events for me to go, okay, Justin, we gotta do it.
- 6:38Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: We we we just have to, there's just so much more on earth that we have to do, and even when there's times where it feels like there isn't, like, what am I here for?
- 6:59Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: What am I what am I here for?
- 7:03Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh and there's a there's a song called The Author, Nick Jonas, where he talks about, you know, we're we're just the ink in the pen in the hand of the author.
- 7:26Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So I think it was probably a previous show where we discussed a little bit of that, where yeah, we're just we're just the ink in the pen in the hand of the author.
- 7:46Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And I believe you know my author is God Jesus Christ.
- 7:52Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Um maybe yours is the same, maybe it's different, maybe it's not at all.
- 8:01Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: That that that's okay.
- 8:06Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: We don't have to all be the same, right?
- 8:12Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: We're all unique.
- 8:14Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So there's so many different ways that we're unique as individuals, and so just talking to somebody, it's right when you talk to somebody like, oh my gosh, Justin's talking about not being judged, and here's somebody that I'm talking and sharing so many things with, how do I know they're not judging me?
- 8:47Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Well, we just have to, we just have to have a little faith that they're not they're not judging us.
- 8:56Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Because otherwise we put ourselves in that same position that we were already in.
- 9:06Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Of I got all these things in my head.
- 9:11Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I just gotta I gotta share them, whether it's through a journal, whether it's through therapy, whether it's a combination, and whether we think we have, you know, that we need to you know talk to also like a psychiatrist or anything like that.
- 9:33Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Yeah, there's Lucy Hill.
- 9:36Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Um I look at it from this perspective, it can't hurt to talk to somebody who wants to help.
- 9:49Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And yeah, there's there's labels.
- 9:53Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I mean, I have labels of all the all the diagnoses that I have, and I know for a lot of people, there's still that stigma.
- 10:10Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Like, oh I I that's not me.
- 10:13Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: That's not me.
- 10:15Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I don't want to you know have an air label on me.
- 10:20Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I don't want to have somebody tell me, okay, you're in you know this this area because of what whatever symptoms uh line up with maybe a diagnosis.
- 10:39Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: For me, it seems like my list keeps growing and growing and growing, but it's who I am.
- 10:49Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I wouldn't be who I am if I was any different.
- 10:57Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Is it fun?
- 10:58Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: No, it's not fun at all.
- 11:03Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Is it helping me?
- 11:05Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Yeah, because of these diagnoses, I'm able to have my counselor therapist help me in those specific ways that if I didn't have the diagnoses, that I I wouldn't I wouldn't be able to and there's still a stigma people are like okay Justin, mental health like there there still is the stigma around mental health, mental illness and I think that's one of the one of the reasons why some people are very hesitant to want to talk to somebody like I can't I can't be one of those people.
- 12:23Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I'm not one of those people.
- 12:25Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Guess who thought that?
- 12:28Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Me.
- 12:30Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: That's how it started out in 2017, and even earlier than that.
- 12:35Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I'm not I don't have anything like that wrong with me.
- 12:44Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I don't have depression, I don't have anxiety, I don't have these things, these diagnoses.
- 12:58Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And it turns out that I do and so I'm able to get care that is in alignment with my diagnoses And then we talked about a stigma.
- 13:25Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: The one other part is what other what are other people gonna think about me?
- 13:30Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: They're gonna be you know, they're gonna be whispering behind my back big deal like who's to say these other people don't also or aren't also going through some of the same things.
- 13:55Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: We don't know unless we ask them.
- 14:03Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I mean we really don't.
- 14:10Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So I think the the the big takeaway, which we talk about a lot, but we need the reinforcement, is it's okay to talk to a psychiatrist, it's okay to talk to a therapist, it's okay if we need medication.
- 14:31Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Like this is coming from somebody, me, who's telling myself in my mind for so many years, I don't want to be one of those people, I don't want to have to start taking medication because then I'm never gonna stop, and you know, it's gonna hurt hurt my life, and I'm not gonna be able to, you know, drink alcohol or whatever that may be.
- 15:06Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: But my life and your life is all of our lives are are precious.
- 15:17Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So shouldn't we want what's best for ourselves?
- 15:27Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And I know it takes a lot, lot of takes a lot to go forward and you know, schedule those visits and go through with them.
- 15:40Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Everybody has to do it kind of in their own time.
- 15:43Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I think that's what that's what happened with me.
- 15:48Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Is it just I had to do things in my own time.
- 15:54Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I had to come to grips.
- 15:57Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I had to swallow my ego.
- 16:04Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Some watching, some listening.
- 16:11Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Where you know, you've been thinking about it and putting it off and putting it off.
- 16:19Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Well, let's make today the day that we just have a conversation.
- 16:31Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: If I say get help, then people are like, oh, I don't need help.
- 16:35Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Just have a conversation.
- 16:38Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Just talk.
- 16:43Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Look, I don't I don't enjoy taking medication.
- 16:51Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: It's not like I'm like, oh yeah, like I'm so glad.
- 16:55Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: No.
- 17:02Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: But I do because in order for me to function in a positive manner and try to keep those negative thoughts, those judgments from me about me and what others may think, and keep those as low as possible, that that's something I just need.
- 17:35Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So I'd rather that than the opposite.
- 17:46Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So if you're thinking about getting help, just just do it.
- 17:53Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Have a conversation.
- 17:58Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I mean if you twist an ankle, you may need to go see a doctor.
- 18:07Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Nobody would say, Well, I don't know why you went to see a doctor.
- 18:12Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: You twisted your ankle really badly, could be sprained, could be broken, it could be people say, Well, yeah, of course.
- 18:23Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: I want to get either for me or a loved one, friend, family, anybody.
- 18:36Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Want them to get better.
- 18:39Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So it's the same thing with our mental health.
- 18:51Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And I think that that's the big that's the big take takeaway.
- 19:01Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Well, thanks for watching, listening, being with us here in the United States or across the world.
- 19:08Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: We're grateful if you've been with us.
- 19:10Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: If you can give us the thumbs up, like, follow, subscribe, share, repost.
- 19:16Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Uh, follow us on Instagram, Facebook.

- 19:23Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: And maybe if you could reach out to 25 or 50 contacts in your phone and share the Voices for Voices TV show and podcast with them.
- 19:35Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: We greatly appreciate that.
- 19:38Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: So thank you for joining us.
- 19:40Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: We'll see you on the next episode.
- 19:43Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Let's celebrate the voices of everybody in the world and let's be a voice for ourselves as somebody else in need.
- 19:53Justin Alan Hayes, Voices for Voices: Bye bye for now.
