- Mike: What's going on everybody? Welcome back to Bro Zone Birds, the podcast where we bleed Midnight Green, question our life choices, and somehow keep showing up every week to watch this absolute shit show. But this week we're doing it in fucking Halloween costumes. Cause that's In-Person: Hello there. Mike: what we do. well boys, we're all here. Well Joe will be joining us lately. But how's everybody doing today? Paul, how you been? paul: I'm good, man. Good to see everybody in their costumes. Yes, I am a whistle. I am a whistle. I'm a referee with a whistle. Yes, yes, yes. you guys, it's the first five game losing streak of this podcast. I'm sad, upset, but we'll talk about it. We had a good run. Jamal Smith: We've gotta be honest, boys. We're starting a little paul: Mm-hmm. Jamal Smith: Starting to start to cut more hours past sundown and I would have preferred. And I'm a little tuckered out. But besides the abject depression I'm feeling about the Eagles current state, I'm all right. I'm hanging in there. Mike: Chris. In-Person: TEEEYABADABADOO! Risi: Come on, man. That's gotten the amped up. Okay, and now talking about the Eagles. I'm back down. I am back down. I'm ready for the tank. I am ready Mike: Well home. Risi: for the tank. Feeling good though. Mike: great. Well, with that, check us out on Instagram, bros on birds pod, bros on birdspod at gmail.com, TikTok bros on birds podcast, on YouTube at Brozone BirdsPod, as well as on Riverside dot com. You can watch us live when we go live, usually Tuesdays at nine PM. And if we're not live on Tuesday, we're live on Wednesday. follow us there, join us, check us out, have fun with us. but let's get into it. Well, it's official. We're two and five. Five straight losses and to make it worse, it was the Dallas Cowboys that came into Lincoln Financial and beat us thirty eight to twenty one. Thirty eight points at home against the Dallas Cowboys. Apparently our defense decided that tackling was optional, extracurricular activity that they didn't want to participate in. But you know what really, really, really is irritating? We actually took a lead in the third quarter. We scored. We scored in the third quarter for one brief, beautiful moment. I thought maybe these guys remembered how to play football. Then Dallas scored eighteen unanswered points. So tonight we're gonna talk about the disaster against Dallas, the future of the Eagles team. Jalen Hurts situation, because we weren't here last week to talk about that because we didn't want to add to the media debacle that was the handling of Jalen Hurts. So we took the week off intentionally. So we weren't another source of non truth. And we'll see if there's any hope in saving this season. But as Chris said, he's already in for the tank. But first, let's talk about what happened. Eagles twenty one, Cowboys thirty eight. Dallas had four hundred and sixteen total offensive yards, two hundred and four rushing. Risi: Ugh Ugh. Mike: Out of that 204, Javante Williams alone, with his Pro Bowl resume that he put together of 155 rushing yards. Dak Prescott three passing touchdowns, Tanner McKee was 211 passing yards, one touchdown, one interception, and that's the Eagles with five consecutive losses. So, how the hell did we let Dallas rush for 200 yards? Javante Williams looked like he was running through an automatic door at Walmart. Nobody touched him until he was already ten yards down the field. And let's talk about the pass rush. Dak Prescott could have ordered a cheesesteak, waited it for arrived, eaten the whole damn thing, and then still completed a pass. That's how fucking bad we are. Chris, was this the worst Eagles defensive performance of the season? Or have we just gotten used to this level of incompetence? Risi: it was c it was clearly the worst performance of the season. And really the like one of the worst defensive, you know, I'll say performances I've seen in a while from this team. And it was just everything was bad. Special teams, defense, everything on that on that side. And this was the side that really wasn't injured, right? I think we only had what, two injured players. There wasn't anything there for us to to to We had everyone. This was the strong side of it. It was just it was awful. And I will say, I do have to give a little bit of credit here. I don't I'm not a Dak hater by any means, but he did throw some dimes. There wasn't terrible coverage on some of those passes. So I Mike: Couple of those touchdowns he threw looked really nice. Risi: They were very nice. So I gotta give them credit there. But as far as the the rushing part, that our line's supposed to be our deal we're supposed to win in the trenches. And I am really tired of seeing that paul: Yeah. Risi: the trenches not get won week after week. And this one we just got we got it was embarrassing on the defensive side. Mike: that that should have been the star of our team that that game and they were the worst part of our team. I I don't I don't Paul, you wanna add anything to that? Risi: Ha ha ha. paul: I don't know that the the defense Vic Fangio has to answer to this. So they were talking on 94 WIP about do you feel it was a bad idea bringing him back after he wanted to retire this offseason? And we all know about Vic that sometimes his message kind of gets stale because he's old school and When he first got here he might have motivated them, but I guess I don't know if the message is lost. I don't know if he's more worried about the World Series because he's a huge baseball fan. Risi: Is he Milwaukee guy? paul: I don't no, he's a Phillies guy, but he loves baseball. Mike: He's a billy guy. paul: I just Mike: So you heard it here firstly, Vic Fangio lost us that game 'cause he was up watching the World Series. What the fuck? Risi: Yeah. paul: It it was something. you know I heard Risi: Falls in. paul: I heard that the offense had a meeting earlier in the week to watch a video of what they've been doing for an hour. What have they w shouldn't that happen every week? Like and they looked okay. And the defense just laid down. I don't know what's going on. Davis and and Carter, you're getting paid way too much money in that middle to be to just be pushed around. also Baldinger, former NFL great, saw the video and he's like, they're just getting manhandled out there and with no effort. And that can't happen. Mike: What are they doing out there? Your two highest play players aren't even set by the time the quarterback's snapping the ball. It was ugly. So I want to go back to Vic Fangio and where he points aloud ranking for his defenses. In nineteen ninety-five with the Carolina Panthers, he was eighth, ninety-sixth, they were second, ninety-seven, thirteenth, ninety-eight, twenty-seventh. Then he goes to the Colts in ninety-nine, he was fifteenth. there's nothing for two thousand or two thousand one. Then two thousand two he's in Houston. They're twentieth, then they go to twenty-seventh, then they go to fifteenth in O four, thirty-second in O five. Then he goes to San Fran in eleven. They're second in eleven and twelve, and thirteen or third, fourteen or tenth, and then he goes to the Bears in eighteen they're first. And then he goes as head coach to Denver twenty fifth, then they're second, then they're twenty second when he goes to the Dolphins, then he was first with us. And then we were a top unit in twenty four, twenty five doesn't have a ranking. So on average, he's got a very poorly ranked defense. paul: they were trying to not you know, his philosophy is not blitz, not blitz, not blitz. Okay. Because he expects his front four to get home. We have Jonathan Gernard. Mike: Who? paul: Did he play this week? Risi: Ha ha ha. Mike: I I don't know, we spent a lot of money for a guy that g obviously just came off of injury and still hurt. paul: Thank you. Dak Prescott's white jersey did not get dirty. Risi: And that's that's happened far too often. every week I'm expecting that jersey on the other the the QB jersey on the other side to get dirty. And it's like every week I I yeah, it's on it. You're saying Vic's not a good defensive coordinator. Is that what you're saying, Mike? paul: No, no, no, I'm definitely not saying that. What I'm what I'm saying Mike: I don't say he's not good, but I'm saying paul: is is I think the message sometimes gets stale. Like a hockey guy, like a hockey coach. sometimes after you know, that's why head coaches don't stay that long in in NHL. Risi: Yeah. Mike: And it must be something like that, 'cause if you look at his things, he goes from like really good defense in the cut team and then it drops like from second to twenty second. Like Risi: Mm. paul: Yes. Mike: what happens? It can't just be players, right? That he's losing players in in all those scenarios. It's something whack is going on. So I I I go ahead, Paul. paul: Well, we also talked pre-show that maybe the the the loss of N'Cobe Dean is really, really have an effect on the young Georgia guys. Cause he seemed like he was the glue for that whole defense. and him not being there, Reed not Mike: Well paul: being here, it just looks like I mean, Mike: We said it last year, right? When it was was it last year or was it the year before when Nacoby was hurt and then he came back and they started playing better as soon as he came back? Yeah, paul: They started playing better, yes. Yes. Risi: He was lights out. Mike: the defense looked better when he came back. paul: Yes. Risi: That leadership's a real thing, Mike: So I I I don't know. Risi: man. I I that the fact that they don't have N'Kobe and how well the Raiders are doing with Nicobe, right? I mean, he's been balling out over there. And we don't have that leader. We don't have that BG coming back or the Fletch we l you know, we lost all those pieces to the puzzle. And there is something about what did they say is a a new a new broom, sweets clean. And you know, maybe Vic paul: Like that. Risi: is he's kind of He's lost his bristles a little bit, so there there's something there 'cause it it was ugly. paul: You guys, we'd also talk pre show, just to take you guys behind the curtain. Who is the leader on defense right now? Who would you say is our leader on defense? Mike: I would Zach Bond would have been my guess. paul: That's who I would go with. Risi: he you can't I wanna say it's Zach Bond, but like I don't want it to be Zach Bond. I like a more like voisterous kind of presence. Like I I want that paul: Yeah. Risi: to be there. And as I look around, like you you you ain't got it. You know what I mean? Like I want J paul: Who is the guy Go ahead, Chris. Sorry. Risi: No, I want Jalen Carter. I I'm I've been pr he's my guy every single year, but like he's just not gonna be that leader presence, right? He's always gotta be someone who has to look to that leader to rein in. And he he may be the biggest voice on that team right now on that defense, and no one to kind of smack him down to rein him in is not could that's that's a recipe for disaster. paul: And in the locker room, boys, who is that guy to to gavanize everybody and bring everybody together in the locker room? it's definitely not Jalen Carter because he did not stay around to answer any questions after the game. Which Risi: Right. paul: I mean, I know you had a bad game, bro, but listen, you get paid a lot of money to stand up in front of the locker and just say we would appreciate it if you said, Listen, I messed up. I know emotions are high, it was a late game. But that's your job. You're getting paid a lot of money. So who in the locker room can say, yo, bro, you need to stay around and and and and face the music right now? Nobody in Risi: And paul: the locker room can do that. Barnes not gonna do that. Risi: Jake the make. Yeah, that's where it's gonna be. Yeah, think about it. You got nobody. who could be at some point is like Makai Lemon. I know he ain't gonna be this year. I gotta paul: All right. Risi: tell you, that kid's look, yeah, I I if if he survives this season by how many terrible passes were throwing to him to get him blown up, yeah. paul: Yeah, the the the old wide receiver screen. Listen, he was in space this week though, man. I he looked really good. Mike: He looked good. He looked like like he looked like he Risi: Yeah, you look good. Mike: could be what we were expecting him to be. So paul: Yeah. Mike: I I'm not mad about that. paul: Right. Risi: No, I like I like I see it. Mike: All right, Paul. What I was gonna ask you, do you think the injuries are finally catching up or are we using them as an excuse for bad coaching? paul: No, I would definitely say the injuries play a factor, but here's the thing, like we discussed earlier in the pod, the defense was only really missing two starters out of out of eleven. And the offense is Mike: And they were the bigger problem this week, right? paul: and the offense was depleted. You saw Saquon in and out of the game, you know. he had that burst. The O-line I thought played well. McKee, I thought Mike: Well enough. paul: Yep, well enough. I thought McCleek McKee played well. Whatever that meeting was earlier in the week, where they saw this video Mike: Yeah. paul: or or Manion got everybody together, whatever that is, do it every week because I feel they showed up. That was their best showing under McKee. Mike: Okay, but how much of that do we how much of that do we think the defense of the Cowboys is just fucking horrible? paul: And that's another thing because they are god awful, just like we are. So that's a good point, Mike. I don't know. But we saw open receivers getting catches. We saw running backs getting through the line. We saw that this week. Mike: Yep. Yep, yep, yep. Risi: Well, 'cause that's the thing, even when we complained about Jalen all this time, even no matter how good or how bad that defensive was, we saw Lopen guys not getting hit. And I'm not here to rag on Jalen, but paul: No. Mm mm. Risi: twenty one points for this type of offense that we have now, current day, where it's at, I'll take it. Jamal Smith: I don't know if anyone said it yet. that game was exciting to watch. And strangely enough, it's probably one of Risi: Ha ha ha. Jamal Smith: the more exciting games I've watched. And it was a fucking blowout. Mike: yeah, nobody I I I don't think I don't think any of us expected that. I thought it was gonna be three three going to half. I thought it was gonna be paul: Yeah. Mike: the worst televised football game ever. paul: Yeah. Yeah, say. Jamal Smith: Crazy. They're they were moving the ball. I haven't seen the Eagles move the ball like that since I don't since the Super Bowl. it's probably the last time we saw move the ball, in such a systematic fashion. Mike: All right, well then with that question, Jamal, you can answer this. If the team were completely healthy, would they actually be good? Jamal Smith: Ooh, damn, you give me the hard ones. That's that that's a wild question. paul: That's a good one though. Risi: Cowboys answer this one. Jamal Smith: I think I think I'm not sure. I got I I g I gotta be honest. I'm not sure. I think that they should be good. I think a healthy Saquon this year would be great. Landon Dickerson maybe pr provided the spark that the offensive line needed. Mike: Okay. Jamal Smith: because they did look better. And I know that. The Cowboys defense is bad, but they did look better and they were making blocks. I it's tough, man. I I'm gonna go ahead and I gotta speak my heart. I'm not sure. I'm not sure. Jalen looked like he was kind of struggling to adjust to this offense. I can't I can't say for a fact that they would be better. I just can't. Risi: What do we define as healthy? Can I get my can I get all of the O line that we entered the season with? Mike: No, no, I I I don't think we can s I don't I f I'll I'll define healthy for you. The O line that we currently have because we this is the healthiest it's gonna be, right? That it 'cause the trade happened, but this would be our O line if that trade would still have happened. You have Saquon, you have Jalen, you have your wide receivers. so you have the rest of your offense 'cause like as I'm Risi: yeah. Mike: saying it out loud, I'm like, we're missing everybody. Risi: Yeah, Jamal Smith: Everybody. Everybody. Risi: of course we be better. Jamal Smith: Yeah, y you have no choice but to be now I feel a little stupid. You have no choice but to be better. Would they be winning a tremendous amount more games? I'm not sure. It seems like there's a level of dysfunction that even talent can't overcome. But yeah, they'd be better. Mike: we ha we ha we had those in week one and two and they were ugly, those wins. Risi: Well I was gonna Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: I was gonna say even here though, even with Jalen and that everyone you a you add in in a healthy, maybe we get f I don't think we're getting over thirty eight points though. I don't I just don't see that. When our defense lets up that many points, we lose that game. Mike: The In-Person: Rhythmic ball play. Jamal Smith: Mm. Risi: QB one. Mike: All right, I'm gonna go to to to the to the number one nick hater. At what point does he lose the locker room or do we already think he lost it, Paul? paul: Yeah, I yes, I do. I again, this is well, I I th this is his first five game losing streak, obviously. Correct, that's that's correct, correct? Mike: Yes. paul: So, Mike: Well, no no no no I don't think so because the one year paul: See, or was it was his first year like they did they did, but they Mike: No, not not his first year, but two years. The year before the Super Bowl win where they had the massive collapse at the end of the year. Risi: Yeah, paul: Okay, Risi: yeah. paul: okay, okay, okay. Well any to answer your question, yes, I think he's lost the locker room. I think tough detailed together or yeah, that's that's his mantra. are they playing tough out there? Is it is it detailed? Mike: I would argue the offense d I would argue Jamal Smith: No. Mike: the offense did this week. paul: Mm-hmm. Mike: I would argue that the offense showed up and actually played this week. Not I don't think look, I'm I'm not just trying to put on my defensive Nick Siriani hat. paul: They did. They did. They did. No, I got you, I got you. Jamal Smith: They did. Mike: I I I think I like I said, I thought they were going to score three points going into the half. But it they didn't. They scored. And and they moved the ball like actually pretty well, except for a couple drives. They they were had like pretty normal Eagles methodical drives that we're used to seeing. So I I don't know. That's where I'm like. Did he lose the locker room or does he just not even talk to the defensive side of the ball? Risi: you know what I paul: Yeah. Go In-Person: Hello there. Risi: I I like to think about like how no matter how good the coaches, right, you gotta have like leaders out there, like the captains like so in hockey, I bring this back to hockey, and you got a a captain, right? He wears the C and you got your assistant captains on on on the rink. And you can have a coach with the perfect scheme, but if you don't have like one of the captains or assistant captains to fucking get on somebody and be like, no, Mike: That's Risi: this is what we gotta do. I feel like Nick doesn't have that with anybody in in the team. Now you could say 'cause he lost it or whatever, but this the identity of this team just doesn't have that person anymore. Mike: But that's a good point. You have Bailata on the offense. Saquon Risi: Yeah, but Mike: does. I'm trying to think who who even had a C. On the defense, it's fucking Davis, Risi: Zack Bone. Mike: Zach Bond, Jordan Davis, and and and and and and Cooper D Djam. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Risi: But like, yeah, I just don't see those guys being those those the leaders to get everybody in. No matter how good the scheme is, you need people to play. That's what I'm seeing right now. I'm seeing the I think we said in the pre-show, and it's like it's it's clicking now. The Nicobe loss is really pre it's really showing itself now. Jamal Smith: Brutal, man. You know what? Losing the Kobe Dean might be the that might be the biggest mistake that Howie has made in probably the last five years. you got all those Georgia dudes on Mike: But but Jamal Smith: the team. And I do believe, I do believe, and I'm not the only one who said this. I heard it on sports radio too, but I think we've all been thinking it. Nakoby seemed to be like the nucleus. he was the brain of those fucking and the heart of those Georgia dudes. I know they're adults or whatever, but losing him, it looks like they don't care. It looks like they don't care as much. paul: Mike, you asked me if do I think Nick has lost the team. What does Nick do? Mike: He sets the he he's supposed to set the the the the moo the the mood paul: Vic Fangio is not listening next Syrian. Jamal Smith: No. Not at all. paul: Okay. Manion, I I do believe he does have a hand on the offense at some point. But I think Mike: I think Manion's listening. Yeah, I don't think Man paul: I think this is a Howie Roseman show. So does Howie want another puppet in there or what? I I don't know. Mike: if we get another head coach, absolutely. You're Risi: yeah. Mike: gonna get the same exact thing. You're gonna get another coach that they can they can push around and tell what to do. Risi: We got we we got two rings. Jamal Smith: What's the Chip Kelly rule? They'll never they'll never let that shit happen again. Mike: Until Howie retires, until he's gone, and until the guy who owns the team that ne put himself into the Hall of Fame is gone. Risi: Yeah. paul: I'm not. Mike: Like, what's with the NFL this year? You got the guy that's in charge of paul: Yeah. Mike: music saying that he's gonna headline music. You got the guy that owns Jamal Smith: my god. Mike: a football team putting himself in his own hall of fame. paul: That's a great choice by the way. Jay Z's gotta Risi: Yo, paul: rip it. Risi: are you kidding me? I am so not watching the Super Bowl because of this. paul: stop Mike: you didn't know it was Jay Z? Jamal Smith: Really? paul: it, are you kidding the hits? The man has hits. Risi: Na Jamal Smith: I love I love Jay-Z. I'm really Risi: nah man. Jamal Smith: the artist. In-Person: TEEE-HA-BA-DA-BA-DOO! Risi: Yeah paul: Put up. Put up. Put up. It's the rock. Risi: but don't watch that shit Yeah, right. Jamal Smith: Uh-huh. love I love Jay Mike: god. Jamal Smith: Z the artist, man. my God. Risi: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, go read those files. P go read those files. Go read them files. Yeah yeah paul: It's the rock. Joe: Yeah. Jamal Smith: No, no, I ain't reading them files. Then I'm not gonna be able to love as much. Risi: yeah yeah. Joe: Yeah, it's illegal if you read but if you're in like Risi: Yeah. paul: I know that voice. What's up, Joe Joe Ski Love? Joe: What's going on? What are we talking about? Are we talking about Howie Roseman Mike: They're talking about the game still. Joe: and how the Kobe Dean letting him go as hindsight? we're all that was good. Mike: But but well yeah, but I d but I think that's not even the biggest that that's not even the biggest issue from letting Nicobe Dean. You letting a Kobe Dean for jihad Campbell, who's working out to be a bust. Jamal Smith: yeah. Joe: Dude, guys, guys, Jamal Smith: He ain't got it. Risi: Nah. Joe: when this happened, when they let N'Kobe Dean go, go back and re listen to the podcast. Everyone was like, Yeah, paul: Yeah. Joe: it sucks, but we got to do it. We invested a first round pick in a guy who's supposed to be able to play the same position, maybe sorta. In the spots he was in last year, he showed something. N'Kobe Dean was hurt every season he played here. Mike: Mm-hmm. Joe: And this is the other side of the coin. It's Mike: Yeah. Joe: Heinzett looking back at it, yeah, it was a bad move. But you can't really blame Hallowe Roseman for that. Mike: Well, I blame Hallie Rosen on the paul: I can I can Joe and and when I get into my fifties I I'm learning that it's okay to say I was wrong. I was wrong. In-Person: we're going to get touched in bad ways. paul: We need that guy back. We need him back. Joe: Yeah, we were all wrong. Yeah, we were all wrong. Everybody was. Not just Howie. Mike: But I I I think where you can blame where you can blame Howie is the scouting of Jahad Campbell. Jamal Smith: Yes. paul: Yes, 'cause I thought Campbell was Risi: Are we are we ready to give up on him? paul: had something, but I don't I think Trotter's better than him. Joe: What makes you think Risi: No, Joe: that Ja J jihad Campbell is a bust? What makes you think that? In Risi: He's not a bust. Joe: year two? Has he done? Mike: It it's not working out. He looks bad, dude. paul: He looks lost out there to me. Jamal Smith: know if he's a bust but he's clearly not ready. I think I said some shit about that a couple of podcasts earlier. paul: Or or Jamal or he's out of position because Vic I don't I don't know. Mike: Well, it it came out today, it was talked about today that supposedly Jalen Carter kinda has a very l loose leash to where he's allowed to kinda go off script and do his things to kinda get some of them backdoor sacks. But if you don't have a middle linebacker that can that can play with that or that can work off of that, i it's not gonna work. And maybe that's the issue. Maybe Campbell just can't fucking, you know What's the word I want? Can't improvise Joe: What's Mike: on the fly like that. Joe: he can't stand in the A gap by himself where two D tackles are playing fucking five techniques? No, no nobody can do Mike: they looked horrible this week, those two D tackles, so I I'm not giving them an excuse for this week. Joe: Yeah. We're paying a lot of money. Like paul: Yes they did. Joe: Grenard. Yeah. Grenard, Jordan Davis and Jalen paul: A lot of money. We talked about that earlier, Joe. Yep. Him too. Yep. Mike: Who? Joe: Carter. We're paying all those guys a lot of money and they have been getting smoked this year for the most part. Jamal Smith: I Grenard Mike: But Jamal Smith: stole money. Grenard he stole money from Mike: Well, Sixers won. Risi: Whew. Never a doubt. Jamal Smith: sure. paul: Yes come on, let's go. Jamal Smith: I got my not to go too far off script, but I just got my LeBron jersey in the mail. yeah, it would be nice, but it it I I got the blue one. I like I like the blue one. the Mike: Nice nice. paul: What color did you go with? The blue one? Yeah, yeah. Jamal Smith: problem is it kind I look like a fucking sausage stuffed in casing. I don't think I'm gonna be able to wear it. I'm hoping maybe I can get in shape by playoffs. I can pop that thing on. But yeah, extra large. Yep. Joe: This is usually your fuck off time of year, right? where you just do you're like making cookies and shit, posting that shit on Instagram. Hey, if you follow for that. Sourdough bread, all Jamal Smith: Y'all are it's out of control. Risi: Ha ha ha. In-Person: you Jamal Smith: I make stuff. Joe: that stuff. Jamal Smith: I've been working hard on the sourdough, baby. Mike: I see you've been getting it down. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Mike: All right. paul: Mm-hmm. Mike: Let's go to our Brona Barbrona Donkey. this disaster is fresh, so let's let's let's let's just get it done. Who's your let's go with Jamal since he's he's got he's he he's winning my favorite costume of the day. Risi: Ha ha ha. paul: Yep. Got my vote. Jamal Smith: So I'm gonna go bro on a bird. I'm gonna make Saquon Barkley. I was excited to see him back on the field. He He probably had absolutely no business being on the field. But it was a show it was a show of manliness and and strength. And I think it helped energize the offense at first. It's unfortunate his hamstring is in the condition that it is, but it was nice to see him out there making some moves and just powering through that shit. I thought it was a good it was a good thing to see. Mike: And your donkey. Jamal Smith: I'm I'm a steal it if someone's gonna use it. Hey I go Cooper the Jean, man. I don't know what's going on. Mike: Yeah, at this point he can go binge drink in another city. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Yeah. paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yo, you think he got bellied? did was it just too much? didn't Mike: They were at the last home, they were at the Carolina game. paul: Who was? Jamal Smith: Okay. Mike: The two twins. Jamal Smith: maybe he needs to get away. Maybe he's cut on that stone, man. Joe: They were? He's Mike: Yeah, yeah. They were Joe: engaged Mike: both Joe: to somebody else, so he's that's over. paul: Wait, wait, wait, wait. The tea the cheerleader has a twin? Mike: No, no, no, no, no. The the wrestlers, the bell the Yeah. paul: Yeah, he's not with her. he's with a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. Jamal Smith: I saw it with Error, which was very confusing. Mike: But before that Joe: Yeah. Mike: the rumor was he was with not was it Bree or Joe: That was a rumor, they knew. It was Nicki Bella. Risi: Nicky. Jamal Smith: Yeah, it was Nikki Bella, right? Mike: Nikki Jamal Smith: Yeah. Mike: Bella, but th at two games ago Nikki and Bree were at the game at the Panthers game. Jamal Smith: I saw that. That was strange. paul: Yeah. Joe: Well, they're probably still social. Mike: they're from the area, right? Joe: Yeah, I think they're from around here somewhere. Jersey somewhere. Mike: Joe, what's your picks? Joe: my bro on a bird is Landon Dickerson. Mike: that's a good one. paul: Yeah, it is. Jamal Smith: Nice. Mike: He played the best Joe: crazy. Mike: that the guard could have played. Joe: Yeah. He coming back and they were able to run the ball. I mean, at least to the left side. The right side was still still needs a little bit of work, but I think that whole left side had a pretty good game. Kendall at center had a good game. Dickerson had a good game, and Jordan Melotta had a pretty good game. Mileada's been really standout this year, though. It's for an offensive line that's been like pretty bad. If you Mike: His name hasn't really been said. Joe: right, he's and he you Jamal Smith: Mm-hmm. Joe: know what else he got out of his game? You remember when he started to used to try to get people off sides when they would move and he'd point to them? And Mike: yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah good point. Joe: I said last year, dude, you need to stop doing that. You don't know foot you don't know enough. You this is still new to you. That's like a crafty veteran trick. And I don't know starting to play football like five years ago, you're ever gonna be at a level where you're a crafty veteran, So Mike: Who's your donkey? Joe: I don't know, I previewed it earlier. The the defensive line. This this week wasn't, you can't blame the offense. toward the end, yeah, they puttered out halfway through the third quarter. But Mike: But they scored in the third quarter. Joe: they did, and then that was it. Jamal Smith: They did. paul: Sure did. And on a long drive. On a long drive. Joe: I think the reason couldn't the defense couldn't get off the field this week, it wasn't because they kept getting put back out there. It was because they couldn't stop Dallas. So yep, paul: Right. That's right. Mike: They could slap a run. Yeah. Joe: could not stop the run. We too much money tied up in that area to struggle like this. In-Person: TEEE-AH-BA-DA-BA-DOO! paul: Yeah. Mike: All right, let's Joe: Mm. Mike: go. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: my gosh. So my bro want a bird. I'm gonna go with Makai Lemon with his first paul: Damn it. Joe: That's a good one. Mike: First NFL touchdown. Risi: NFL touchdown. And it Joe: I have a comment about that. Risi: can survive this year, like I said, I'll be highly impressed. My man is getting lit up. Bro on a donkey this week. I am just going to go with the entire defense. The entire defense as a whole. We had no business trying to like being able to win this game, and we truly had a chance to win this game. They made me believe, but 38 points to let up is just terrible. In-Person: That's okay. Joe: This is their this is their bad Mike: what's your con Joe: one. I d I'm sorry. Can I say something? There it do Mike: Yeah, was say what we were gonna say about the lemon thing and God would say but if Joe: you know what he you know what he didn't do after he scored his first NFL touchdown? He didn't celebrate. Mike: Did he not get the ball? Joe: No, he didn't celebrate. I Jamal Smith: I love that. Risi: Mm-hmm. Joe: love it. paul: He got rocked. He probably was half concussed. Poor guy. Joe: That shows me that he No, I don't I I Risi: Ha ha ha. Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Joe: don't know. I think he has a different mentality. Like I just paul: Yeah. Joe: think I think I think this kid he might be a killer. paul: I think he has the dog in him. I do agree with you. Joe: Think he's Risi: He's got the dog at Joe: got yeah. Mike: He he Risi: him. Mike: th this game made it look like yeah, he might be legit. Like this might be paul: Yeah. Joe: And his he keeps his usage goes his usage is going up every single week. paul: Yes it is. Mike: Yep, paul: Yes it is. Mike: yep, yep, yep, yep. Jamal Smith: It is. paul: Yes it is. Mike: Alright, go ahead, Paul. Joe: Told you, wait half a year. Mike: Go ahead, Paul. paul: Well, he took my he took my Mr. Lemon. so I will go with Man, nobody on the defense, on the offense. Who else can I give it to? Saquon for for Saquon Barkley. For showing Hart, you know the man wanted to be out there. They figure we got three divisional games in a row coming up. He's gotta go out there and give the college try. He was you know, that burst. He there was he was recorded seven nineteen miles per hour on that first dart in the first quarter. So him for just gutting it out, I just hope it's n it it didn't cost us. Well cost him. Joe: breaking news. paul: Cost him. Mike: Breaking news. Hold on. I got hold where wait where the hell's my thing? paul: hold on hold on ESPN In-Person: you Joe: ESPN just published a report. Estimated 75% of NFL players who died from 2008 to 2022 had CTE. Cause you know how they're all Jamal Smith: shit. Joe: signing off on that thing now. when I die, test me. paul: Yes. Yep. Joe: Seventy-five percent of them apparently have had CTE. So that's going Jamal Smith: That's pretty high. Jesus Christ. Joe: to trigger probably a lot of things. Probably not for the rest of the season, but definitely this off season, especially if this In-Person: Yeah, remember addicts? Joe: report picks up steam, there's gonna be some changes. Those those hits to the head and Mike: Remember Guardian Caps? Joe: yeah. Jamal Smith: Seven seventy gee. Joe: Seventy five percent Mike: Seventy five percent. Joe: of former NFL players that died over that period, which have been a lot. you talk about a former NFL player, which can paul: Yeah. Yeah. Joe: be a guy who was on a practice square. Anybody who's ever drew drawn a paycheck from an NFL team, seventy five percent of them had CTE. Risi: my gosh, hold on. The study is based on records from twenty three hundred sixty-two former NFL players who died between two thousand eight, two thousand twenty-three, played in the league for an average of five years. Among those, almost four hundred players donated their brains. A stunning ninety-three Jamal Smith: Cheese. Risi: point five percent of those had CT. Hold. paul: Mm. Jamal Smith: Well, if if you're in the NFL, how Mike: so that's sev ho ho so that's seventy five percent isn't even like legit. That's a that's a ninety five percent of the people that we tested had it, which was seventy five percent of the total that died. So we don't even know about Risi: That's exactly right. Jamal Smith: Jesus Christ. Mike: the other fucking Risi: That's right. my gosh. Joe: Yeah. Yep. Mike: That's not Sargent Mo. paul: It'll be interesting to see how the NFL Jamal Smith: No, are you good? paul: how the NFL deals with this tomorrow. Mike: Well, maybe that's why they're freaking out about supposedly everything was we're gonna talk about Jalen in a minute. Supposedly they were on board with the way the Eagles handled and the last report that came out two days ago was they're pissed off at how the Eagles report it. Well shit, you they knew this story was gonna drop too. paul: Yeah, that's wow. Jamal Smith: man. paul: It's funny, we're talking about Saquon gunning it out. I hope it doesn't cost him. But anyway, my my Jamal Smith: Yeah. paul: my donkey is definitely Jalen Carter. I'm not singling out the whole line. Jalen Carter. We've seen since he's been paid, everybody, one amazing game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Other than that, come on, man. You gotta do better, buddy. In-Person: Gotta load that box. Mike: Yep. All right. real quick, I'll do my donkey first. I'm giving the donkey to Vic Fangio. You don't want to be here, don't be here. T let the tea you got two in my opinion, Vic Fangio has two options right now. Let the team gracefully say you're retiring early or just fucking leave. Like Yeah, I think it's done, dude. The defense has not the defense has not been good this year. If we really, really think about Joe: So you're you saying like fire the dude? Why I mean this is one bad game that they've had. What? Jamal Smith: Wow, yeah? Mike: it, they really haven't been that good. They had one good game and it was Jacksonville. Jamal Smith: They haven't looked like this though. This is the first time they just got gassed. Joe: This was the first bad game I would say. Mike: Yeah. I think I'm done. I w I'm done with the Vic Fangio experience. paul: This one and the Chicago game. Mike: Yeah, shout out game is bad. We don't we we blew the leads, we blew the fourth quarters in the first two games where we almost lost and then we didn't lose. paul: And then we blamed it on the offense by always going three and out, three and out, three and out. Listen, we knew this Mike: Yeah, I paul: year the offense was gonna struggle. We counted on the defense to at least keep us above float until the offense caught up. And it's it's not working. Mike: My bro and a bird, which is gonna lead us into our next segment. I'm gonna give it to Tanner McKee. He had 200 yards, 211 yards, he had a touchdown, he had an interception, which was wasn't good, but to to to to have some semblance semblance of an offense, I think he did a decent job, so I wanted to give it to him. Which goes into our next segment. The Mormon Missile. That's his real name, not the Jewish bazooka. Is Tanner McKee the answer? So let's talk about him. No coffee, no alcohol, just absolute bombs. Or at least what we were hoping for. Risi: Okay. Mike: McKee finished Monday with two hundred and eleven passing yards, a touchdown and interception. Was it spectacular? No. But when your offensive line is held together with duct tape and positive thoughts, what exactly are we expecting? We might be watching the guy who quarterbacks his team for the rest of the season. And possibly even in the next season. And we'll talk about that a little bit later. Chris, is McKee developing or are we lowering our expectations? Risi: He's he's playing the game like you historically would expect. And it's so distant than when Jalen plays the game. Sure, this is great. They're running the offense. So he's not lighting it up for me. So I think it's a lowered expectations and it's it's a little bit different, right? The grass is always greener. I I I I he played a good game, but I'm not wild. You know, I'm not wild yet. Mike: All right. Paul, what do we need to change on the offense to make him more successful? paul: people getting more healthier. Other than that, McKee is a backup. He was our third string quarterback. He lost a job to Dalton or I don't know what how he was doing with the whole Dalton thing. He was a third string quarterback. He's he's a lifetime backup. I'm actually excited to see the other guy or Milton or Cole Mike: Joe Milton. paul: Payton. Or whatever his name is. Risi: Ha ha ha paul: You know what I'm saying? I I McKee does not move the needle. To make him better, more reps with the first with the first stringers and health. That other than that, he don't move the needle for me. Mike: Alright, well th then Joe, if we were to continue to lose, should Milton go in? You think Milton should go in over over Cole Payton? Joe: Yeah. Yeah, I think so. Yep. either of those guys. I mean, if we continue to lose and if that's I mean, listen, I to be hon completely transparent, for me, it's like if you don't think you have a chance to make a deep playoff run, pack it in. Boys get the draft pick. I that's my mentality when it comes to this. McKee, he looks like a backup. I mean, he looks like the standard NFL backup. Like And probably one that isn't the worst. But, if you think you can get into the playoffs or something, if you ch make a change, then I say go ahead and do it. he hasn't been terrible. Mike: I is there a quarterback that we could trade for that would look better behind this line? Joe: No. paul: No. Risi: I I wouldn't for the show and entertain it. I I I'd put in whoever's worse. Like I would test both these guys out and and tank it up. Joe: Tank it. paul: Yeah, exactly. Exactly right. Jamal Smith: Well be well let's not be let's not be fooled. It's more Joe: The tank top. Jamal Smith: that it's it's more than the line. You know what I mean? even if the line Risi: Yes. Joe: Yeah, it's more than that. Jamal Smith: was playing well, there current there was no receivers last week and the fo fourth string running back for ninety percent of game. Mike: I i fourth, we're on our six string running back at this point. We just put we just put our fifth on IR. Joe: Yeah. paul: Yeah. Joe: Yeah, this is the sixth guy. Yeah. Risi: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Co paul: More. Risi: could we acknowledge that when we had no wide receivers, Jalen Hurts was getting Coop Cooper to be like a a a top pick in the in fantasy paul fantasy ball with Paul. Joe: I don't know, dude. paul: Yeah, see what, yeah. Joe: Look at Mike: Well that's w well but but when Jalen was still here, he had Wicks and Smith still out there. But well no but yeah, but that's what I'm saying. Like like Risi: Nah, d don't worry about the details. Joe: Yeah. Jalen hasn't been good either, guys. Mike: Canner McKee just did that with a six string quarterback a six string running back, come the second half of the game. He did it with none of the starting wide receivers. The only Joe: I bet you Mike: starter was Dallas Goddard. paul: And Mackay Lemon. Risi: And and Mikkay Lemon. Mike: Mikhailman, sorry. Jamal Smith: I just want two more games. I I want to see Tanner McKee for two more games, mainly because it looked like he made a tremendous jump. He looked way more comfortable. I mean, he kind of got thrown into the mix the last time. I know he didn't get as many paul: Uh-huh. Jamal Smith: reps with the team. He looked like he could command the offense. One concern of mine with his though, he had a tremendous amount of batted down balls. Risi: Mm. Jamal Smith: he's a tall Mike: Yeah. Jamal Smith: guy. Like, I'm not sure why that kept happening to him specifically, but paul: Good point. Jamal Smith: there was a lot of batted down balls. And he had a good almost like a quarter total of inaccurate passes, like where he just kind of got lost. I don't know if it's just getting used to being in there. You know what I mean? Like he might I would love to see him for two more games. And I think we could have a more well-rounded opinion on him because he doesn't look as bad as he did in that last game where everyone wrote him off, but he also doesn't look like the savior. Risi: Mm-hmm. Mike: Well all right, well before we move on to to to Chris's thing, it what what what where is because we don't want we're not we didn't have it scheduled talk about, but where are we at on the tank? 'Cause we are technically if we win this week, you're still in contention for the conferen for for the Joe: Yeah. Mike: division. Risi: I'm full tank. I'm full tank. I I I Joe: Yep. Jamal Smith: Yeah Risi: I just gotta be honest with you. I wanna enjoy this. I wanna see every week of loss at this point. Mike: But do you agree if we say I in my opinion, if we Joe: I pick. Mike: go full tank this if we s if we're saying this week we're going full tank, that means the coach is gone, the defensive coach is gone, the quarterback's gone. paul: Yes. Yeah. Risi: Yeah. huh. Mike: you're you're you're you're gutting Joe: Rebuild. Mike: this whole thing. Risi: I'm I'm I'm ready for it. I've I've enjoyed Joe: You Risi: this ride. Joe: You need to do what the Phillies should have done three years ago. Mike: Yeah. And and and and and Paul, paul: Man. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Clean it out. Mike: are you on board with that? Because I think that's the case. It's Jalen's gone, the whole system's gone. paul: I okay, so obviously I don't want my QB one to go. Number two, Joe: No? paul: number no, I don't. number two Joe: You I I paul: number two, I do In-Person: Rhythmic ball play. paul: not Don't think it I don't think it matters. They're gonna we wanna do I want them to tank? Of course not. I picked them to go twelve and five, so that means they gotta win out. Are they gonna win out? Hell no, they're not gonna win out. It's just too much, it's too far gone. So I want sh I want yeah, yeah. We're gonna tank we're gonna tank regardless. Mike: But y y n I think eight wins gets you in the playoffs. paul: I don't think we're good enough to win. Mike: Eight wins get you in the playoffs. Risi: Yeah, we're not that far off. Jamal Smith: Yeah, we're probably gonna get tanked. I don't think this is an option. I don't know if we're discussing this, they have to make Mike: Yeah yeah we're not gonna have an option. Joe: They might not have a say. Jamal Smith: the fucking decision. we're gonna get tanked. paul: Yeah. Risi: yeah, because I don't w I don't want what happened to the Phillies. They they like they got in and then just got the sh they got demolished. I don't want that. I know that's where this is gonna land. Jamal Smith: Yeah, if we get to the playoffs, it's gonna be in a bit. I'm not watching that fucking paul: Joe, what do you think? Jamal Smith: game. Joe: Well I don't want them to lose. I don't want them to tank, but I think you gotta look at reality when staring you in the face. It's the I think the window might be closed for this group and the way this team is played. It's it's just like Jalen Hurts hasn't been good the last two years. he was in there this year and he did some good things week one and two. But the last three games he played, he paul: Uh-huh. Joe: was pretty bad. Or or the Jacksonville game, I wouldn't say he was bad. He wasn't nothing right home about, Mike: Healthy. Yeah. paul: Right, yeah. True. Joe: So it I don't I I'm I'm I'm ready to to turn the page here. it's I've I've seen enough that this just it and I paul: Joe, let me ask you if if if if if if Nick goes and we get Shane Stikton back, I I know I'm butchering his last name. Would you be on board with that? Joe: No, I don't want Shane Styka. Mike: No, what what has Shane Steichen done? paul: It was Jalen's best year as an offensive quarterback in twenty two. That's all. That's the only reason. And he Mike: But but he Joe: Yeah. paul: can call plays. You you still keep man you still Mike: But but he's paul: you still keep Mannion in the fold, you know, because this is his first year. He gets another year. I know, I understand. Mike: Shane Steichen is on a team right now where the owner where the o wait wait wait wait wait where the owner died. His daughter now runs the his daughter now runs the team and she's paul: Yes. GM got fired. Yes. Mm-hmm. Mike: literally standing on the sideline because she Jamal Smith: Wow. Mike: has zero confidence in the coaching staff. Risi: Yeah, it's not good. Mike: And you're gonna bring that guy back? paul: I'm only I'm only yeah, I'm only going by what he did for us. I don't care about the Colts. Joe: Dude, if I owned a team, I'd be on the sideline too. Risi: Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Joe: I'd I'd I'd dress just like a coach. I'd have a headset. Mike: Ha ha. Risi: Now would you like would you like dress like a football player too just because? Joe: No, I would dress paul: Yeah. Joe: like a coach. I would come out with you think come out with pads and stuff? Mike: He'd do the he would do the whole he'd come Risi: one of the boys Mike: out, he'd have his hands on his knees like on the sideline next to the coach the whole Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha ha. Joe: Yeah. Mike: time and shit. Joe: I'd be standing right next to the coach the whole time. Mike: Big wad of gum. What do we call next, coach? paul: With a headset on. Joe: We all we all get mad at owners when they get involved, but every one of us on this podcast, if we owned an NFL team, Risi: w one hundred percent. Joe: Elon Mike: yeah. Joe: Musk is like, here, take all my money. First thing we would do is buy an NFL team and Jamal Smith: Immediately. Joe: you know, like we we would be involved and we'd be terrible at it. Mike: And I'd be like, you know what? Those beer prices need to go to twenty dollars. We need it We need more money. Risi: Fuck them motherfuckers. Jamal Smith: Just do it. Mike: All right, Chris, take us to our next story. We talked about players and coaching, but we might have something bigger going on, or at least Nick Foles thinks there's something bigger going on with the organization. Risi: Yeah, the biggest problem is that they've lost their identity. This used to be a physical disciplined team that controlled the line of scrimmage. Now they can't stop the run. Protect the quarterback consistently or close games. former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has publicly raised concerns about dysfunction. When someone who knows championship football in Philadelphia questions the culture, should we pay Joe: Come on, dude. Risi: attention? Lane Johnson is gone, Jeff Stoutlin is gone. The offensive line is it what it used to be? A two and five. This isn't just about injuries. Now that's from Nick Foles. Hmm. Mike. Mike: Nick Nick Foles was very hopeful. He was very upset about the fact that Jeff Stoutlin was fired. He br he said he was perturbed by it. he w he he felt like he was personally attacked by Jeff Stoutlin being fired. Joe: Yeah, but Risi: See that that Jamal Smith: Jesus. Risi: that's someone that's not close to it anymore. you don't know the details. Joe: Like paul: What he what what he was also upset is is that when a player would fall down, he doesn't see the offensive linemen to go over and pick them up. He said under Jeff Statlin that would never happen. So that's why he really feels there's a culture problem in Philadelphia. Of course, and from Nick Siriani's comments tonight, I mean earlier this morning on the morning show, WIP, shout out to them. he said I'm not worried about that crap, what he says, because he's not in the locker room. It but I feel that Nick is getting this from somebody, i.e. Stoutland. the whole not picking up quarterbacks when they fall down or running backs when they fall down, he's saying that would never happen. So that's why he's feels that there's a culture thing. But of course, that's hearsay. he's it's it's an opinion, we all have an opinion on this part, but that's why he was really upset about that. Risi: There is some. Joe: And let's not forget it's coming from Nick Foles. he he Risi: Ha ha ha. Jamal Smith: Yeah, Mike: Well I Joe: he caught lightning in a bottle and played really well for two of those playoff games, including the Super Bowl. He had other and and Mike: Yeah, i exactly. Like let's I I like Chris, I know you were getting it right. Joe: it's not like he had some injury and, career cut short. He had plenty of other opportunities to, repeat that. He got a pretty good contract from the Jaguars, if I remember correctly. After Mike: He got a really good contract with the Rams. Joe: Yeah, and Risi: You know what let me let's just go. You what's funny is that we talk about culture so much. Let's go to the p the pendulum has swung now that there's no culture. This is this is this is nothing's going on, versus like a couple of years ago, even a year or so ago. I mean, you had so many characters on this team historically. This Eagles team has had just personalities left and right. And that's what Halley typically signs. A personality brings it in here. This is the most tame, boring you know Joe: Well they're losing, Chris. They're losing though. Mike: Well but no no no. I think I Risi: Well Mike: I I'm I know what Chris is saying because Yeah, like exactly. Like th and Jamal Smith: Yeah, but Slay and C J and all these big bursting personalities, they're gone. Mike: I'm gonna say something that's probably gonna piss half the people listening to this show off. Like they all wanna say, well look at that those to that that team specifically. Well you had people like Jason Kelsey and you had Fletcher Cox and you had Lane Johnson. Do you really think those three guys were bringing a ton of culture and holding players accountable? I don't. I think Jason paul: You? Mike: I don't I think Kelsey was too busy figuring out what his brother, what his next business move was. I I like paul: Man, I I think I think Fletcher Cox is is old school and if he got a problem with somebody, he's going up to somebody and checking Mike: Maybe. I'll give you that. I I I'll give you that. I don't Jamal Smith: I can see Fletch. Yeah, I can see Fletch. Mike: I don't think Lane Johnson was. I Jamal Smith: No. I don't see it. Mike: don't think Lane Johnson was at all. And I really don't believe like look, Kelsey Kelsey has become this Philadelphia superhero. He is like literally fucking Rocky at this point. But I think it's exactly. It is exactly, Joe: He's from Ohio. People forget that. paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: huh. Mike: dude. It is 100% gaslighting. It's all the shit that we give Bryce Harper bullshit about. Joe: Yes. Yes. Mike: This motherfucker does it and he gets away with it and nobody says anything. Joe: Does. Risi: I wish I had the button. We We don't care. Joe: Pret pretends he likes Wawa and paul: No, I I I I do agree with it. Jamal Smith: Well, after the Mummers he ascended to like godlike status. Yeah, that shit changed everything. Joe: Yeah, legendary status. Mike: do you not remember when when when when when Andy Reid was shitting the bed, Joe: I'd still bring that up. Mike: that was the dude who came out and told the Philly fans that they need to give more respect to the coach. Risi: Right. Joe: When he was yelling at people at the gate his rookie year, you remember that? Jamal Smith: Uh-huh. Mike: Yeah, he was yelling at he was yelling at the sign guy, the guy who makes all the signs. It was Jason Kelsey who was yelling at the sign guy to get the fuck out of here. And now all of a sudden he's a man of the people and he knows everything about Philadelphia. paul: Wait Risi: He paul: a minute, wait a minute. We're talking about Risi: was my No no he paul: Nick Foles. Well, how did Kelsey get astray? Mike: Because we're telling about we're talking about culture and how the culture was paul: okay. Mike: so good the culture was so good on those teams. paul: But it was Joe: Guys, when you're winning, the culture is always good, right? They're fucking winning, Mike: No, it wasn't they were winning. Yes, they were winning. Risi: That's exactly right. Jamal Smith: It is. Joe: the culture's good. When you're losing, it's bad. Jamal Smith: Well, well Risi: Winning solves Jamal Smith: well, except for when we Risi: winning solves everything. Jamal Smith: won the Super Bowl. That was bizarre. You know, there was the AJ shit jumping off. It was paul: Mm-hmm. Jamal Smith: like knock we almost we almost lost the team halfway through the season. They did. Joe: Yeah. But Jamal, they held it together and that shows y th paul: Yeah, we did. Joe: n the winds held it together, really too. Yeah. No, it's you have good results, everybody's everybody tolerates it. Yeah. Risi: That's exactly Jamal Smith: I gotcha. No, you're right. Yeah, 'cause if there were losses, if there were losses, that shit would have exploded. No, you're Mike: Then that shows leadership. Jamal Smith: right. Yeah, it would have exploded. Mike: And what I'm trying to say is I don't think the culture was any different on those teams. You have the same type of players. Why is my camera being stupid? You have the same type of people. You you had more headcases on the older team than you do now, I think. Risi: Well, the only thing I I it back to my earlier point is that the captains of the team aren't leading them in the right way. It's not a cultural thing. I do believe there's a gap there with like our leadership and our team, like on the ground level. That I do believe. I just don't see paul: I agree. I agree. Risi: not a cultural thing. I think the that's said. Mike: Yeah. paul: And I think Nick F Nick Nick Siriani, sorry, we all know he's a Joe: Oof wall. paul: Yeah. Mike: I I I I agree with that, but I would go as far as this. I think Nick Siriani's got a better pedigree in a resume than Nick Foles does. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Yep. Risi: Y paul: Yeah. The head coach. Risi: Nick should shave his head again though. Mike: he's sh that's probably what we're missing, it's just the shaved head. Joe: Yeah. that's what he needs to do. Risi: Baldiani needs to come back. Joe: Mohawk. Jamal Smith: Yeah, why has he not done that yet? he's gotta Mike: I don't know he Jamal Smith: come out next week. Baldiani up. Mike: it brought that that well think about th that was a slump that they went in that he brought us out of. paul: Yes he was. It was. And I Risi: yeah. paul: give him a hundred percent credit for that. Risi: Gotta take one for the team. Jamal Smith: Was that before Mike: Yeah. Jamal Smith: or after he was fighting with the fans? Mike: That was after he fought with the Risi: After Mike: fans. It was after paul: Before, wasn't it? 'Cause he was fighting with the fans after the Cleveland game after they pulled that game out. Shaved his head. Mike: And then he shaved his head the next game. Risi: Then he shaved his head. Jamal Smith: then he hit the buzz. Mike: Is it right after that he shaved his head? So the paul: okay. Joe: Yeah. Mike: fighting with the fans was right before he shaved his head. Yeah, bring it Risi: Bring it back. Joe: Bring that back. Mike: back. well all right, and and and and Chris, I'm not stealing your questions, but is firing Siriani gonna fix the culture? Risi: Nah. Nah. Joe: No. No, Mike: The paul: Well the culture the culture is Joe: I'm i i i the culture would definitely Mike: the the the culture. Joe: change. It would definitely change. there's a different head coach. It would definitely change. It might not be better. the results stay bad. The culture's not gonna be great, Mike: But c right, because think about it. If if you have forty two fucking injuries on the offense, no matter who the coach is here, the defensive players are gonna be like, What the fuck am I doing out here? Risi: Yeah. Winning solves. Mike: how do you combat that? Joe: Here here's an experiment. Go back, say five years and look at every team that only won, you know, between four and six games. And then you can do this now with like AI. Try to find like news stories in local papers or national coverage that mentions the culture and see what the message is overall. You know, like I guarantee you, all those teams that have four to seven wins, struggle, you know, they're all gonna say the culture's bad on all those teams. Risi: You know what our Joe: And then try conversely, try to find teams that have won eleven plus games and look at the culture coverage on that. And they'll probably say, their culture's really good around this team. culture, that message starts to change as the results get better. Risi: That's where I o paul: Or or the message is being lost. Maybe not the culture, Risi: No, no, let's not forget our culture. paul: maybe it's the message. Jamal Smith: You you can't have a good culture with losses. It's not possible. Risi: How ha no Jeff Laurie's our Joe: I I honestly honest Risi: culture. Jeff Lurie's gonna and Joe: yeah. Risi: how he was they're gonna fire everybody this year. paul: Yeah. Joe: I I think paul: And I agree with that. I do believe, real quick, Joe, I do believe Howie and Jeffrey is the culture and they want it the way they want it. Which is why we'll Mike: Yeah. I agree with that. paul: probably never get a bill Bill Belichick or somebody that, it's just never gonna happen again because they got spooked out by Chip Kelly. Joe: I think, and think you guys probably know this, but I'll put it into words anyway. Culture is something that analysts, reporters, and fans point to when they can't point at anything else. It's like communication, paul: I agree with that. Joe: you've heard that. Communication is better. What are you talking about, communication? You know what I mean? you send emails, you make phone calls. It's it's something that people bring up when they can't explain why things are going wrong any any other reason. You can't directly point to anything. So they say culture. That's what it is. Mike: all right. Jamal Tell us about Jalen and what's going on. Bring us up to speed. Jamal Smith: Man, Jalen, Jalen, Jalen. Well, Jalen was originally diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in his left calf paul: Yeah. Joe: Mm-hmm. Jamal Smith: after the Rams came. We all know he got cleated. he traveled to London where a specialist examined and cleared him to play against Jacksonville. After he returned to Philadelphia, further testing reportedly revealed deep vein thrombosis in his leg and pulmonary emboli in both lungs. That means Klots reached his lungs. no one wanted that. at least it wasn't the heart, but no one wanted the lungs. He is receiving treatment with blood thinners, and while on them, he cannot participate in contact football. he's expected to miss the rest of 2026. The encouraging news is, according to the team and his agent, Nicole Lynn, he is clinically stable, his prognosis is very good, and doctors anticipate A return to contact football after treatment. No retirement decision has been announced. The question is whether he can safely return and whether he will want to. my man, like forget football for a second. I want Jalen healthy, but do we think he ever plays another NFL down? he's accomplished so much, made money, won a championship, and he has a whole life ahead of him. At what point does he say I've done enough? Mike: I I think he's gonna say it this year. I think at the end of this year he's going to say I'm done. and that's to the point. he's he's he's won it. He's been a Super Bowl twice, he he's won it. He's w what the fuck just happened And Joe: I have a I is Jamal Smith: huh. Joe: this this looks like a GIMP mask probably, right? Jamal Smith: I'm like, Plague Doctor Mike: You beat me paul: What is it? Joe: Halloween, aren't dressed up? Risi: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jamal Smith: That's the plague doctor mask, isn't it? Joe: Yeah, yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah. That thing probably gets that thing gets in deep. Mike: okay. Risi: Ha ha Mike: Yeah. In-Person: Your mom fucking dipp. paul: Yeah. I forgot what the hell we were talking about. Mike: Yeah. Joe: Ha ha ha Jamal Smith: I mean, it's a great mask. Risi: Mitsu, Mitsu. Mike: Jalen, do you think he's done? my god. paul: Jalen. Risi: I got paul: I hope he's not I'll be quick with this. I really hope he doesn't. I really hope but of course we want him to be healthy. We want him to be safe. And I don't want him to leave the Eagles. But I think because of everything that went down with this investigation that's going on, ongoing, I don't think it'll be with us. And it breaks my heart 'cause that's my buddy. Sorry. Sorry. Risi: Next all next July or August on ESPN there will be a special and it'll be the retirement announcement. He's done. Joe: Fire. Risi: Retirement announcement. That's it, man. He's gonna be done. He's he's gonna they're they're not gonna they're gonna it's maybe this, maybe that. It'll be like end of summer next year when he does his n announcement. So whenever that lull inside of sports NFL sports kicks in where they're they're done to draft. And they need to get more sports you know, NFL in there. That's when he's gonna announce his retirement. He's done. I hope not too, but I d I don't see it. What do you think up there, Doctor? Joe: it's fogging up. Let's leave it Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha. Joe: on my head like this. do I do I think he's done as a player? No. I just I I don't I just don't I don't know if he's gonna be back here. I think I hate to say it. I don't and I don't necessarily think this is true. that we've seen him play his last game as an Eagle. Like I've heard some people say that this week. But I I mean I know all this stuff came out medically about him and we kind of cooked the dude after the the Jacksonville or what game after Jacksonville game. We cooked him paul: Yeah, Jacksonville. Joe: before before we knew any of this kind of stuff came out. That doesn't change my opinion about how the guy's played. And it's unfortunate because I know people have, been 'cause his health is the most important thing. I don't want to see the guy, paul: Absolutely. Joe: be have some troubles for the rest of his life because of this or something. I don't want that to happen. But as far as I I've seen enough and I've defended him enough. But he just when things are perfect, he is a good quarterback to have. When there is adversity and you don't necessarily have all the tools that you need to win a championship, he doesn't give you enough to, you know, carry you. He just doesn't. And we've seen that. Mike: Did you put your mask back on, Joe? Joe: They win games. They win games. Mike: Can sled your mask back on? paul: Mike, what do you think? Mike: Can you sled your mask back on, please? Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha ha. paul: Mike, what do you think? In-Person: Have you ever paid for sex? The answer is yes, Joe: He's co In-Person: I have. Several types of facts. Mike: What do I think? I Jamal Smith: Wood internations. Mike: think he's done. I don't think he's gonna come back. Think about it. Would you like would you go would you come back? Like after you've been diagnosed after you've paul: Yeah. Mike: been diagnosed, after this doctor with the masculine diagnoses you with blood clots and have in London Joe: ha I diagnose them. paul: In London at the Cleveland Clinic. Risi: Fucking black plague. Mike: that that have come to your lungs. You're done. He plays a very like you know he g he paul: Yeah, bro Yeah, man. Mike: gets he gets hit, he runs. I I I I would be done. Joe: Yeah, he gets smoked too when he play like he doesn't Mike: Yeah. Joe: just sit in the pocket, he gets In-Person: Have you ever paid for sex? The answer is yes, I have. Several times a fact. Jamal Smith: if he comes back though, would it be for the Eagles? Like that I'm doubting. Mike: Yeah, I doubt it too. Well especially if we're going the route paul: Yeah, me too. And I I hate that. Mike: especially if we're going the route that we think the coach is gonna be going. He if the th they're a package Joe: Did Mike: in my opinion. Joe: did something else Risi: Yes. Joe: happen to where Jalen's come out and question like how this has been handled? paul: No, he has not said a word and we Mike: No. Jamal Smith: No, nothing. paul: talked about that earlier in pre show too. no, he has not said anything and we're thinking Well, that's a little Risi: He but he got his paul: weird. Risi: when he got his private doctors, they said that said everything I needed to hear. That was Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: day two. Soon as he got his private doctors to take over everything, that said volumes. That's called I'm getting my own legal counsel. I'm gonna paul: Yeah. Risi: I'm getting everything I need to get in order. He's not gonna say a word at this point, but that said volumes. Joe: Think he sues them or something like that? You think something crazy like that happens? Risi: He ain't gonna take it to court. They're gonna pet Mike: Yeah, I don't think so. 'Cause they've gone out of their way with joint statements between the agent and the team Joe: Yeah. Mike: and the agent's come out and praised Howie and Yeah. Risi: He's got leverage like you wouldn't believe. paul: And my guy Hugh Hugh Douglas always says, a financial apology is always good. You know what I'm saying? Risi: That's exact he's got leverage like you wouldn't believe. Jamal Smith: It is. paul: So but you guys Joe: Hey, Hugh Doug Hugh Hugh Douglas also thinks it's okay to have strippers at a NBA game where there's kids. Risi: Yeah, it's a good point. paul: Well yeah, yeah. Anyway. In-Person: Have you ever paid for sex? The answer is yes, I have. Several times in fact. Jamal Smith: Ha ha Joe: That guy has. paul: But we have to look at the other side of the coin, guys. So if we all are agreement that he's not coming back, then what? Mike: Well, it d i yeah, you're y you suck this year and next year and you're shooting for Joe: Draft another quarterback. Yeah. Yeah. paul: What is the a okay. Mike: a quarterback two years from now. Risi: Yeah, it's okay. paul: And I guess we'll ride with McKee or Cole Payton or whatever until until the new quarterback gets up to speed. Joe: Scrap he Sammy sleeves. We've been in this position before, guys. Mike: Or coal or Yeah. We bit yeah, exactly. Jamal Smith: No way. No. Yeah. Now they'll they'll grab someone. I think they would grab someone in the offseason, like a mediocre ish quarterback. Yeah. Mike: We've been here some board you're not drafting anybody next year. Yeah. paul: So now we're looking at two years of purgatory. Risi: Yeah, yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Mike: Well, technically probably four, because you're gonna need two years for the quarterback to get good. Joe: Dude, we had how many year Mike: How many years have you already done this? yeah, exactly. Joe: W we have fifty seven years of purgatory until we Risi: Yeah. paul: This is but Joe: won a Super Bowl tune. paul: this is new Howie though. This is I believe listen, call me naive. Risi: This feels Mike: You realize paul: We don't go down for too many years in this new era Joe: No. paul: of the Eagles football. You see what I'm saying? So you're saying Joe: You don't know that yet. paul: four years, I don't think Howie and Jeffrey is gonna stand for that, especially when they want a new stadium. Risi: Well hold on. Mike: What are you gonna do when Howie retires at the end of the year? Jamal Smith: no. paul: He ain't going nowhere. Mike: let's be realistic. That dude's old. He's not young. he's probably gonna be d Joe: How old is Howie Roseman? Mike: let's let's look it up. Jamal Smith: Nah, he can't be I believe he's forty nine, fifty two. paul: He's fifty something. He's Joe: Yeah, no. Risi: But the four paul: like my age, old. Risi: but f Jamal Smith: Yeah. Mike: Fifty one. Risi: fifty one, but four years. But four years is paul: Exactly my age. Jamal Smith: Damn, I was r I was right there. Forty nine fifty two. Risi: like a Super Bowl run, four years. In two years, you're you're you're excited again. Year three, maybe a chance, year four. Like this is not that far off. This is not Mike: Yeah. Exactly. Two years two years you draft your quarterback. You take the his the first year of his rookie year and his second year to develop him, and maybe you're making a hard push year three four. Risi: That's exactly right. That's all right. Jamal Smith: y you know what though? Like I gotta I gotta go with Paul on this. I'd rather Jalen than something new right now. Only because Jesus. Jesus Jesus. When you're picking QBs, it seems like most of them don't make it. Joe: Yeah, it's true. Jamal Smith: And there's no free agent out there. If there was a free agent next year who I thought that we could grab without who'd want to come here who without destroying our team, I'd be a little more on board. But I don't think there's anything out there like that. We're getting mediocre. Joe: It's d does that ever who was the last quarterback that left one team and went to another team and won anything of substance? Jamal Smith: Matt Stafford. That's about it. shit. Mike: Matt Safford. Stafford? Sam Risi: Sam Darnold. Sam Sam paul: Tom Tom Brady. Joe: Okay. How how long not excluding the best in the world? Stafford Stafford was really led. Well, yeah, I guess Darnold. So Jamal Smith: shit, that's three. Okay. Yeah, Darnold did pull it off. paul: Okay. Sam Darnold? Risi: Sam Darnold last year. Sam Sam Darnold last year. Mike: Mat Matt Stafford. Joe: shit, and Darnold, I didn't think he would make that big of an impact. So I don't know, maybe. I don't know, dude. Mike: Y you you got you got two in the last Jamal Smith: No, I'm that was insane. Yeah. Joe: Maybe you can go get Kirk Cousins and we can win the Super Bowl or make it to the Super Bowl. Do you think that's gonna happen? Risi: Yo, bake bake baker me feel. Baker may feel. paul: You guys look look at the league. The the the way the league is set Joe: Now dude. paul: up, you look at a Cleveland Browns team who we all think is garbage. They hated there Joe: I don't think. paul: were there was there was pitchforks out for their starting quarterback. They're five and two. So the NFL, Jamal Smith: Yeah. paul: it's it's a it's it flips Joe: Weird. paul: every year. It's year to year. You know what I'm saying? Mike: Yeah, think about y y you have a decent amount of quarterbacks that have gone somewhere from their first team and Geno Smith went to he had what's the dude, he had Seattle roll in those years. Jamal Smith: It was working paul: He did. Jamal Smith: out for a little bit, yeah. paul: He did. Kirk Cousins Mike: Yeah. paul: right now is balling in in in Vegas. Mike: Yeah, but Jamal Smith: Darnold Darnold is the craziest, far and away one. That's that's the most recent just mind blowing. I I never thought that would happen. Yeah. paul: Yeah, recent. Stafford and golf switched Mike: Sta Stafford and Goff, both of them. paul: teams and they both had success. Risi: It's it's not it's not far off. paul: Nope, it's not. Joe: Yeah, yeah, I guess. Mike: Especially with the shitty teams who get a first round pick. the paul: Yeah. Mike: the team's bad. You Joe: Let me let me look at something. Let's see who is a free agent QB in twenty twenty seven. Risi: Baker Mayfield gets his ring with us. paul: No, he just got signed. He just ex he just they Jamal Smith: They just signed them. They signed them up. Mike: They just paul: signed him. Mike: extended them. paul: Yeah, they signed him. Risi: I thought he had a one year deal. paul: No, they extended it. They he got his extension. Mike: Your free agent is gonna be Justin Jefferson. Not just I'm Justin Joe: So let's paul: Joe Burrow. Mike: Herbert. Jamal Smith: I I don't I don't want Jer I don't want Justin Herber, man. hell yeah. Risi: I don't want to hurt Bert. paul: No, we want Joe Burrow. We want Joe Burrow to Risi: I'll take Joe Barrow. paul: get out of Cincinnati. That's who we want. And I can see how we doing something like Joe: So this is who you're gonna have the pick with. paul: that. Joe: This is who you'll have the In-Person: Hello there. Joe: pick from. Okay. So you tell me who Jamal Smith: boy. Joe: you want. you will have Kyler Murray, Mac Jones, Tua Tagliovia, Taglovoa, Geno Smith, who came up, Anthony Richardson, Kirk Cousins, Mike: Gino's too old. Kirk Cousins is done. Joe: Justin Fields, Jacoby Brissett, Deshaun Dish Jamal Smith: Justin Fields. Joe: Deshaun Watson. Jamal Smith: shit, he's free? We got good massage Joe: Yeah. Jamal Smith: parlors out here. We probably could get him over here. Mike: Mm-hmm. Joe: Those are the guys. So Jamal Smith: I never experienced it, I just heard. Okay? In-Person: Have you ever paid Joe: if you if you can tell me one of them guys In-Person: for sex? The answer is yes, I have. Several times in fact. Joe: You tell me one of them guys are gonna do what, Sam Darnold did. Mike: Yeah, but that's how you should be looking at it. You should be looking at what what quarterbacks are on their last year of their deal. Joe: That's what I did. I Who's gonna be a free agent in twenty twenty seven? Those are the guys. paul: Right. Or the guys Mike: No, no, no, no, no, no. Who's gonna be on their last paul: that are fed up. Mike: year on twenty twenty seven? Not like who's Joe: What trade form? Mike: yeah. That's all you got to do. You're n if we're if we're signing a free agent quarterback, we're we're the we're giving up. Not giving up. We we know we're building. Risi: yeah, so you got Matt Stafford, Lamar Lamar Jackson's on his last year of his deal. Jamal Smith: I don't want Lamar, paul: She is. Jamal Smith: man. He's injured all the time. paul: He is injured all the time. Risi: he's he don't have a ring though, right? So Jamal Smith: no, he ain't got no Mike: No. Jamal Smith: fucking ring. He's too busy being injured. Joe: Yeah. Every time they get something put together, it's like he misses five or six games and is like at seventy percent in the playoffs. Risi: I'll still take Joe: Daniel Jones, he's on the last year of his deal. CJ Stroud, Jamal Smith: Mm-hmm. Joe: Bryce Young. paul: I I got it, I got it, I got it. I know a quarterback who is under contract for next year. And he knows he knows Philadelphia well. He's won a Super Bowl in Philadelphia. Jalen Hurts. That's who I want. Risi: Yeah. Joe: Mm. Mike: I don't see it happening. All right, we're cutting some stuff out. We're over an hour already. Let's move along. s paul: Yeah. yeah, no doubt. Let's move it on. Risi: wow. Mike: we still have ten games left Sunday night in Washington because apparently the NFL paul: Yeah. Mike: hasn't punished America enough with the Eagles Monday night game. So now we're Joe: Jesus, they're playing prime Jamal Smith: Ha ha ha Mike: now we're two and five. We lost straight five five straight and now Jaden Daniels. Wonderful. What are the keys of the game? Stop the run after allowing Dallas two hundred and forty yards. Protect Tanner McKee and keep down and distance manageable? Contain Jaden Daniels when plays break down with our awesome front four? do we establish an offensive rhythm with quick passes if you were negative plays? And do we play all four quarters with no more blown leads? Chris, is there anything that gives you confidence that we can beat Washington? They are one four and one, right? They have a tie. Joe: Yeah, yeah. Risi: is there anything that gives me confidence? Well, it's the NFL. Anything can happen in the NFL. That's the confidence, and that's where it ends with me on the confidence to win the In-Person: Rhythmic ball play. Risi: game. look, I we already beat them, right? You usually split in the NFC like so all all all of the stars would align that we're gonna lose this game, but any given Sunday. Mike: Hey, Paul, can the offense score enough points to win? paul: Yes, but will the defense show up? I have no idea anymore. Mike: Well that's a mm Okay. Jamal, how do they contain Daniels? Jamal Smith: They don't. yeah, no. I don't think they're gonna contain him. I I'll be shocked if we even sack him. we haven't been doing well with running quarterbacks or just running anyone running the ball near paul: Yeah. Jamal Smith: or against us. So I have zero confidence. I don't think it's gonna happen. Mike: Jeez. Risi: Hold on, Jaden Daniels, real quick. Have you seen his record? Like his record as a starter, I forget what it is right now, and like his stats, it's really not good. Like Jamal Smith: No. In-Person: TEEE-HA-BA-DA-BA-DOO! paul: No. Yeah. Risi: I gotta watch me some of that. paul: Jamal wins best costume, but but Chris got best drop by four. Risi: Ha Jamal Smith: Yeah, a hundred percent. Risi: ha ha. Mike: How about? Risi: Or a Mike Yeah but dab a paul: Nah, Yabba Dabba Doo is undefeated, man. Come on. Jamal Smith: You better watch. Risi: do Mike, can you pull up his stats real quick of like last like ten starts? Mike: Yeah, hold on. Risi: It's ridiculously not it it's not good at all. paul: Well, a lot of that i yeah, injury played a f a factor. Jamal Smith: He had a horrible season last year. Horrible season. Yeah. Risi: Well, no, it's even bef it's even before that though. It goes even before that. w paul: he dislocated his elbow twice, or is that this year? Risi: we still look back at the one game he slaughtered us with three years ago in his first year, but his stats are really not that good. Mike: His last ten regular season games, he has completed a hundred and seventy of two hundred and seventy four passes for sixty two percent. He has a hundred one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight yards, twelve touchdowns and three interceptions for a ninety one point passer rating. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Risi: Yeah, it's not bad. Mike: So if you go back game by game, Joe: Mm-hmm. paul: That's not Mike: they lost to San Francisco. He had two hundred he had three hundred yards and two touchdowns. Joe: two T Ds. Mike: you go back to the eleventh versus the Giants. He was seventeen for twenty five with one ninety nine. No no they lost. They collapsed in the fourth. Joe: They beat the Niners. Jamal Smith: No, they lost. paul: Yeah, they had it. Jamal Smith: Almost they almost beat him. Mike: Yeah. They lost to Dallas. He was eleven for seventeen with ninety six yards and one touchdown. That's the one that's a little like, but he got hurt in that game, didn't he? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's the game he got hurt because the game before paul: Yeah. Yeah. I think I I'm I I'm not sure. I'm not sure. Okay. Mike: that was us, was the season opener. And he was eighteen th for thirty four at 164 yards and two touchdowns. And then going back prior to that, Christmas, yeah, they they were that he came back from the injury, right? Risi: Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Joe: What, for a Christmas game? Yeah, I think Mike: Yeah. Yeah, Joe: so. Mike: right before that he came back, the the seventh of December. He was nine for twenty, seventy eight yards, zero touchdowns. Then he was versus Minnesota nine I'm sorry, I said that the game before that he came back. He was sixteen for twenty two and hundred fifty three yards and an interception. Then he went nine for twenty, seventy eight yards and interception to end the year out last year. paul: And I just wanna Joe: Paul, do you think paul: add yeah, go ahead, go ahead, Joe. What's up? Joe: Paul, do you think Jaden Daniels overall has played well this year? Okay. Well, Jamal Smith: Mm. Joe: if you look at his numbers compared to Jalen Hurts, it's paul: Yes. Mike: He's way better. Joe: it it's nah it's pretty identical. But Jalen Hurts, yeah. He's your guy though. paul: Yeah. Yeah. He has a pl so but I just want to add this one thing for the game. Mike: Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Jamal Smith: Wow. Got got him. paul: They Mike: Yeah. paul: were facing another team that had a bye week last week. In-Person: Number one is hard. Risi: Dude, that's been Mike: So are we. Risi: a long time. paul: So another team that we're about to face with two weeks to prepare to get more healthy and and we're just we're just sc struggling right now, man. Mike: Joe, if we No, no, no. There's not much Joe: I don't think teams need extra time to prepare for us right now. Mike: there. Not much there. who who do they pick to cover is what it is. Like, hey, who do you w what what what backup do you guys want to cover this week? Joe: Mm-hmm. Mike: if we lose six straight in a row, Joe, Siriani f officially owned Firewatch. Joe: He's on fire watch, but I just don't think the Eagles are gonna make a make a change during the season. Mike: Mid season. Joe: I don't think so. It'd have to be something really wild, like non-football related to happen, like fight in the locker room, you know, something crazy would have to happen. So he's on the hot seat barring them like winning out or doing something really exceptional for the rest of the year somehow. Risi: He's done. Joe: I don't I don't know if he's done, but he's on the hot seat. He might have a short leash the following year. But again, the Eagles really they who they did they get rid of Doug during the season? paul: The only the only co coach Mike: Mm no. paul: they got rid of was Chip Kelly and that was after the Christmas party that he didn't attend and he got fired. No. Yes, they were. Joe: Right. Chip Kelly, right? Yeah. Mike: Chip. Yeah. And remember Doug wasn't even indefinite. They were gonna keep Doug. They were gonna bring him back and all the shit. But then Carson Joe: That was a disagreement, right? paul: Yeah, he wanted to hire his own Yeah. Right. Mike: kind of said Carson said, I'll come back if Doug don't come back and I wanna hire, you know, and all that shit happened. Joe: Yeah. Mike: Carson kind of fucked everything up, if you remember correctly. I think so too. Joe: I think he's already on the hot seat, this and I've said it before, the stuff with Siriani works when you're when you're doing good, but when things are going bad, his his antics and just his the way he carries himself and the way he goes about managing the team, just when you're struggling, it really, really is hard to to Risi: It's run its course. Joe: to to tolerate, you know. Jamal Smith: Yeah. It's run its course. Mike: Yeah. Chris, what's your score prediction? Risi: we lose I'm gonna go with we're gonna get we're gonna get seventeen points and we're gonna lose twenty one seventeen close game. Mike: Okay. Paul? paul: Twenty three, twenty one, Washington. Mike: Okay. Joe? Joe: the Eagles win. It's like a slop festo, sixteen ten. Jamal Smith: Yeah, I'm going twenty four seventeen Eagles. Despite my negative outlook, I do think we pull it out. Mike: All right, I am gonna go with an Eagles win. I think the defense gets their ass chewed out this week, so it makes us get a win. and I will go with fourteen to Joe: Some slop. Mike: ten. Risi: Sounds like a delight game. Joe: And and and the and the defense scores one of the touchdowns or something. Special teams or something. Risi: Yeah. Joe: the offense is just completely ineffective. Hey, this this game did not count. paul: You guys, if the defense really if the if the defense really mailed it in like they did last week, it's gonna be a shootout. Not a shootout. I think our cap is twenty one. So I think it'll be like, you know what I'm saying? Joe: Paul, for our bet, does this game this game you guys have to decide. Does this count as Saquon Barkley playing a game, even though he was hurt for most of it and carried the ball eight times? paul: It counts for me. Jamal Smith: I think with the arts, I'll give it to him. Risi: No, we did say we did have a qualifier for how many touches. I think this does count. Joe: Yeah. Risi: We did say something about a qualifier. This would count. Joe: He had less than ten touches, didn't he? Mike: We did. Yeah. Jamal Smith: It was ten. I think it was exactly ten. He was in ten plays. It was either he had ten touches or he was in ten plays. paul: Now, I don't think he's gonna play this week, so you're looking good. Joe: No. This Jamal Smith: I don't think he fucking should. Joe: is this is exactly this is I told you, this is this is what he does, man. He paul: Yeah. Yeah. Jamal Smith: Yeah. Joe: c and he came in, he wasn't, a hundred percent hurt and still scored a touchdown and paul: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Joe: just asking Giants fan, man. This is this is what that guy is, unfortunately. paul: Yeah, brother. Yeah. Joe: But we got the best of Mike: Jamal, where are we at? Joe: him. Mike: Where are we at in our picks? So yeah. we needed that game to have a a a shot at the division and a home playoff game. But the way they laid down in that second half, yeah, they're done. I hate to say it, man. Mike: Yeah, look, I've been a fan long enough. I know disappointment with this team, but this just feels a little special or especially disappointing. The Dallas game was Joe: Can I ask something Mike: bad. Good. Joe: before you before you sign off? Did did you guys go over the how Dallas is reacting like like they're not three and four? did paul: But that's but that's listen, Jamal Smith: We did not. paul: no. Why Mike: no. I yeah.
