- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Guardian Angel of talk radio is here. Curtis
- 0:05Speaker 1: Sleewah guest host the Mark Simone Show on sevent ten.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Woor oh yeah, let's do it day two.
- 0:26Speaker 3: As I sit in for Mark Simon, I mean, this
- 0:30Speaker 3: is the guy who's smooth. Remember that song by Shah
- 0:34Speaker 3: Day nineteen eighty four. I remember hearing it in London
- 0:38Speaker 3: first time when I organized the Guardian Angels, their smooth operator.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Nobody's smoother in this business, this thing of ours, this
- 0:48Speaker 3: is the business we have chosen talk radio. Nobody's done
- 0:53Speaker 3: it longer than Mark Simone locally. But I'm sort of
- 0:57Speaker 3: the tagalong thirty five years and to be thirty and
- 1:01Speaker 3: now at the radio station where it all started for me,
- 1:05Speaker 3: not as a host but as a guest. When I
- 1:09Speaker 3: got the bug TV bug was rom Perum. That was
- 1:13Speaker 3: before WOR Radio seven ten, when I was interviewed by
- 1:18Speaker 3: Arlen Francis who had the midday show, when I was
- 1:22Speaker 3: the newspaper Boy of the Year, havn't gotten an award
- 1:26Speaker 3: from Richard Nixon, And I remember the studios they have
- 1:30Speaker 3: fourteen forty Broadway. I think I'm not trying to remember
- 1:35Speaker 3: if rom Perum was actually on Channel nine. I think
- 1:38Speaker 3: it was at the TV studios in Midtown Manhattan, not
- 1:44Speaker 3: far from where the ball is going to drop. Welcoming
- 1:48Speaker 3: in the new year and the change over from the
- 1:51Speaker 3: missing in action mayor the swaggerman with no Plan Eric Adams,
- 1:56Speaker 3: who got windyned in pocket lined over the years. Thank god,
- 2:00Speaker 3: he'll be gone. Has he gotten back yet? Is he
- 2:02Speaker 3: from this perpetual vacation, his travels around the world at
- 2:06Speaker 3: taxpayer's expension, sort of like Matt Lauer, remember before he
- 2:10Speaker 3: got the boot at NBC. Where's Matt Lawa today? Where's
- 2:14Speaker 3: Eric Adams today? On our dime? We're paying for all that.
- 2:18Speaker 3: We'll get into all of that. And then also uh
- 2:22Speaker 3: oh boy. At the dysfunctional home of WABC, the former
- 2:27Speaker 3: house of always broadcasting critics Sliwa, now always bashing Curtis Sliwa,
- 2:33Speaker 3: one of their hosts just he lost it yesterday. Greg Kelly,
- 2:39Speaker 3: Oh my god, he just went on and on. People
- 2:41Speaker 3: were telling me on the streets of Coney Island, listen
- 2:44Speaker 3: to him. This guy, he's having an episode. He certainly was.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Wow And in fact, he used words that I heard
- 2:57Speaker 3: that hadn't been said to me on the radio since
- 3:02Speaker 3: back in nineteen ninety two, I had on as a
- 3:08Speaker 3: guest of Angels in the Morning, where I was hosting
- 3:10Speaker 3: with my wife at that time, Lisa and al Lisa
- 3:13Speaker 3: Evers at Channel five, guy named Louis Kasman who was
- 3:18Speaker 3: like the adopted son of John Gottisenia, and he was
- 3:22Speaker 3: coming on to defend John gottisin You have been found
- 3:25Speaker 3: guilty for the final time triple life without parole because
- 3:30Speaker 3: of the rat Sami de Bolgravano and the memory's tapes
- 3:34Speaker 3: of conversations they had had over the Ravennight Social club
- 3:38Speaker 3: in Italy where he was ordering the executions of his
- 3:44Speaker 3: fellow Gambino crime family members. And Louis Kasman was on
- 3:50Speaker 3: the air and he was defending him, and it was
- 3:53Speaker 3: a very heated discussion, and I remember what Louis Kasmin said.
- 3:58Speaker 3: He said, Curtis, you better keep your mouth shut if
- 4:04Speaker 3: you know what's good for you. And soon after, remember
- 4:08Speaker 3: I got shot five times with the hollow point bullets
- 4:10Speaker 3: in the back of that yellow cab on my way
- 4:13Speaker 3: to WABC. We'll get into that later on. Oh you
- 4:15Speaker 3: know what I missaid, Well, yesterday the Moe Green there
- 4:21Speaker 3: at WABC. Yeah, Greg Kelly's like Mo Green from The Godfather,
- 4:26Speaker 3: you know, tough guy, tough guy, except these Irish not Jewish.
- 4:31Speaker 3: He said exactly the same thing he announces on the microphone,
- 4:36Speaker 3: and I heard it for myself. Curtis, keep your mouth shut.
- 4:41Speaker 3: If you know what's good for you. What do you
- 4:45Speaker 3: think you mean by that? Is that that foe for
- 4:49Speaker 3: gazy rage because he has anger management issues. Well, look,
- 4:55Speaker 3: I'm gonna get into it. We'll do the deep dive.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Dysfunctional former family at WABC tries to still haunt me
- 5:05Speaker 3: to this day even though I'm at the station. You
- 5:10Speaker 3: should all be listening to now War seven ten, the
- 5:12Speaker 3: absolute best with Larry Mente in the morning and then
- 5:16Speaker 3: obviously Mark Simon, my very dear friend in the afternoons.
- 5:20Speaker 3: For many many years, Sean Hannity, the rock ribbed all
- 5:23Speaker 3: American conservative voice of reason from Franklin Square along Island
- 5:28Speaker 3: doesn't get any better. And the whole panoply of shows
- 5:33Speaker 3: that you get here as opposed to where you may
- 5:36Speaker 3: have been. But let's talk about what occurred yesterday. And
- 5:43Speaker 3: I want to give credit to Natalie the wr team
- 5:46Speaker 3: here producer in the morning, who also does the news
- 5:49Speaker 3: from time to time, and she spoke to everybody here
- 5:54Speaker 3: at seven ten yesterday morning before my debut and talked
- 5:58Speaker 3: about how I am The Gardian Angels would be out
- 6:03Speaker 3: at Coney Island Stillwell Avenue to commemorate, memorialize the death
- 6:10Speaker 3: of the Debbie Kowom, also known as Dobrina Kowam from
- 6:15Speaker 3: Little Falls, New Jersey. You say, who's that? Well, a
- 6:20Speaker 3: year ago the whole world knew, at least for the
- 6:24Speaker 3: first nine days when she could not be identified because
- 6:27Speaker 3: she was burnt so badly, turned into a human torch
- 6:34Speaker 3: by an enemy of society. It came to this city
- 6:40Speaker 3: with the royal red carpet rolled out for him by
- 6:43Speaker 3: Joe Biden, biorchist Harris and yeah, oh yeah, at that
- 6:47Speaker 3: time the Biden of Brooklyn, Eric Adams, So we'll be
- 6:49Speaker 3: talking about him also later on today the house smiuse
- 6:53Speaker 3: said he was for twenty two years as a cop
- 6:55Speaker 3: in the NYPD. And it seems like in one year's time,
- 7:04Speaker 3: the memory of the most heinous, horrific crime in the
- 7:09Speaker 3: New York City subway system, in fact, in New York
- 7:13Speaker 3: City's history, involving one victim, just wiped from the memory cells.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Credit though to Natalie for bringing that to the surface
- 7:27Speaker 3: of what we would do. I'll get into that momentarily.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And also to the New York Posts Catherine don Levy,
- 7:36Speaker 3: a reporter who had covered this horror a year ago.
- 7:40Speaker 3: They're now doing a video broadcast to sort of remind people,
- 7:44Speaker 3: because it just seems the rest of the media and
- 7:47Speaker 3: most people from them, it's out of sight, out of mind.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Part of that is due to what the City of
- 7:57Speaker 3: New York does not want you to know about. All
- 7:59Speaker 3: the crime in the subway. Look at it, all the
- 8:01Speaker 3: series of stabbings that have occurred of late, all the
- 8:05Speaker 3: homeless and emotionally disturbed. They're still living in the system.
- 8:09Speaker 3: I know. Coming here this morning, I ran into so
- 8:12Speaker 3: many of them, some who I know personally. So we
- 8:17Speaker 3: eulogized Debrina Kwam on the anniversary that horrible death. We
- 8:25Speaker 3: had the reath out. We had pictures people were passing
- 8:29Speaker 3: by a very crowded station where the F train D
- 8:31Speaker 3: train merges with the N and Q. Nobody knew, and
- 8:37Speaker 3: we said to say her name. Nobody knew. And there
- 8:43Speaker 3: are so many thousands of homeless and emotionally disturbed out there.
- 8:46Speaker 3: They won't be home for Christmas. Their home is an
- 8:51Speaker 3: unsafe shelter, a subway car, a subway station, a platform,
- 8:57Speaker 3: a park, or the streets, and they all have a
- 9:02Speaker 3: unique story. His DeBie Kwalms the age of fifty seven,
- 9:08Speaker 3: she had become homeless, destitute, and clearly was emotionally disturbed
- 9:13Speaker 3: when she was set on fire on that f train
- 9:16Speaker 3: on the morning of December twenty second of last year,
- 9:19Speaker 3: at seven thirty. Where was she? From? Little Falls, New Jersey.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Grew up in a small white house. A father work
- 9:28Speaker 3: assembly line at the GM factory in Lynden, no longer operational,
- 9:34Speaker 3: her mother at a bakery store. She had her sister
- 9:36Speaker 3: and brother. An all American upbringing. She was a cheerleader,
- 9:39Speaker 3: mispopularity at Passaic Valley Regional High School, worked in Perkins,
- 9:45Speaker 3: a pancake house as a hostess, got so many of
- 9:48Speaker 3: her friend's jobs there. She was always the life of
- 9:53Speaker 3: the party and as so many of her former schoolmates said,
- 9:58Speaker 3: she was a bright light. Then unfortunately got dimmed like
- 10:03Speaker 3: so many out there. She went on to Montclair State College,
- 10:08Speaker 3: which is right there in Little Falls, got a job
- 10:11Speaker 3: at Sharp Electric and Malwa and Mirk the pharmaceutical company,
- 10:17Speaker 3: and from time to time, we'd go out with her
- 10:19Speaker 3: girlfriends to Vegas of the Caribbean and have a nice,
- 10:23Speaker 3: nice holiday like some of you are having now for
- 10:27Speaker 3: Christmas and New Years. And she meets a guy, and
- 10:32Speaker 3: you know what happened. Something cracked. She began to fall
- 10:40Speaker 3: into an abyss, last known to be working in Atlantic City.
- 10:46Speaker 3: And then, if you follow the timeline, getting arrested from
- 10:50Speaker 3: time to time all along the Jersey Shore for drunken
- 10:54Speaker 3: and disorderly conduct. When no lifelines, she was falling into
- 11:02Speaker 3: Dante's inferno. And then she went back home. She was
- 11:08Speaker 3: searching for her mother. She pounded on that door. A
- 11:14Speaker 3: woman answered the door. She said, I want my mommy.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I want my mommy. I want my mommy. And the
- 11:21Speaker 3: woman who had just recently bought the house from Dobrina's
- 11:25Speaker 3: mother and father, said, I don't know where they are.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I have a realtor's card. Maybe he can track them down.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I want my mommy. She's crying, she's disheveled. The woman
- 11:36Speaker 3: goes and finds the card. She returns to the door
- 11:39Speaker 3: and the next thing she knows to bring and kowamas
- 11:41Speaker 3: running down the block screaming, mommy, mommy, crying. She came
- 11:48Speaker 3: home from Christmas, at least she thought. She soon ended
- 11:55Speaker 3: up over a Grand Central terminal. Almost outreach unit brought
- 12:01Speaker 3: her up to a woman's shelter in the South Bronx.
- 12:04Speaker 3: How crazy is that this woman was from Little Falls,
- 12:07Speaker 3: New Jersey. Soon they took everything from her. She fled.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Where to homeless people go when they flee in the winter,
- 12:17Speaker 3: they go into the subway, so that becomes their home.
- 12:19Speaker 3: And it was for many days until this Monthster found
- 12:25Speaker 3: her set her on fire. Was there a commemoration, a
- 12:31Speaker 3: memorialization yesterday at city Hall? No any other fifty one
- 12:35Speaker 3: city council members, No Jessica Tish the police commissioner, no
- 12:41Speaker 3: one police president, no MTA headquarters.
- 12:44Speaker 2: No.
- 12:44Speaker 3: They want that image wiped from our mindsets. It'll never
- 12:52Speaker 3: be white from my mindset. Imagine for so many of you,
- 12:59Speaker 3: how many of your cheer and her grandchildren are coming
- 13:01Speaker 3: home with your parents or grandparents for Christmas and New Years,
- 13:07Speaker 3: and they want to see their mommy. Those are like
- 13:11Speaker 3: her last words that we know of mommy. Where's my mommy?
- 13:20Speaker 3: And yesterday Natalie brought this to your attention here wor
- 13:27Speaker 3: the New York Posts. Catherine don leaving and the rest
- 13:33Speaker 3: of the world wanted to remain oblivious. Not I in
- 13:37Speaker 3: the Guardian Angels. No, we want a memorial placed at
- 13:41Speaker 3: that very spot on the f train station to represent
- 13:46Speaker 3: the many thousands of homeless and emotionally disturbed some of
- 13:50Speaker 3: them buried in Pottersfield, you know where that is. A
- 13:53Speaker 3: million bodies are buried there, nameless, faceless individuals. They all
- 13:59Speaker 3: had stories and at least I was able to tell
- 14:04Speaker 3: Debbie Kwalms say her name. No, they won't, but we will.
- 14:14Speaker 3: We will remember. We should always remember. Our number is
- 14:21Speaker 3: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten. That's
- 14:25Speaker 3: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten. On
- 14:28Speaker 3: this Your Place to be seven ten War.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Streets, Smart straight talk Curtis Leeward, guest host for Mark
- 14:38Speaker 1: Simone on sevent ten.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Woar back in the rain this morning on my way
- 14:50Speaker 3: here to the studios, my new favorite station, and it
- 14:54Speaker 3: should be yours wor seven ten gives you all you need.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I ran across I was homeless and emotionally disturbed persons
- 15:03Speaker 3: that are everywhere, especially when it's inclement weather down in
- 15:07Speaker 3: the subways, and it sort of brought me to the
- 15:10Speaker 3: point of this problem wasn't dealt with with Comrade Bill
- 15:14Speaker 3: de Blasio, the part time mayor, the dope from Park Slope,
- 15:18Speaker 3: smoking Mawi Wowie and Hindu Cush at night on the
- 15:20Speaker 3: back porch of Gracie Mansion with his grift to wife Charlene.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Wasn't dealt with by this swaggerman with no plan, Eric Adams,
- 15:30Speaker 3: whose only contribution was tonight life in that he would
- 15:33Speaker 3: be at every club till the break of dawn instead
- 15:36Speaker 3: of being the mayor. And now at Fosters are on
- 15:40Speaker 3: Mandami who gets sworn in on January first. I don't
- 15:45Speaker 3: think he'll have a grip on it, but it's interesting.
- 15:48Speaker 3: While I was thinking about that, I said to myself,
- 15:52Speaker 3: she whiz Greg Kelly, former colleague over at WABC, talk
- 15:59Speaker 3: about anger man many issues, Oh my god, he he
- 16:02Speaker 3: always has them, but he we all carry some baggage
- 16:05Speaker 3: in all life. He went ballistic yesterday. He was like
- 16:08Speaker 3: Moe Green from The Godfather. Remember was the enforcer for
- 16:12Speaker 3: Buggsy Siegel the Hymen Ross Syndicate Maya Lansky and he's
- 16:22Speaker 3: like going off and screaming about me and just out
- 16:26Speaker 3: of control, which half the time he is. Look great, guys,
- 16:30Speaker 3: served the United States Submarine Corps up there and the
- 16:34Speaker 3: fly zone in Iraq. Told so many of our of
- 16:37Speaker 3: the listeners that weapons of mass destruction and all of
- 16:41Speaker 3: that was a disaster. Okay, he got like a lot
- 16:46Speaker 3: of good attributes. Great wife, great family. Had a problem
- 16:52Speaker 3: a while back. We all had problems. I was lucky
- 16:55Speaker 3: he had a His dad was the police Commissioner, Ray Kelly,
- 17:00Speaker 3: best relief commissioner we've ever had in New York City,
- 17:02Speaker 3: longest serving, and he was able to extricate himself, cleaned up,
- 17:08Speaker 3: no more booze hound, no more chasing skirts, you know,
- 17:12Speaker 3: found God, got back on track. We've all had stories
- 17:14Speaker 3: like that. But yesterday, oh my god, I think I've
- 17:21Speaker 3: gotten under his skin. You know what it was last
- 17:25Speaker 3: week when I was being interviewed by Mark Smohm preceding
- 17:29Speaker 3: this substitution I'll be here till January second, I talked
- 17:34Speaker 3: about how he was great for Greg Kelly because Greg
- 17:37Speaker 3: Kelly would actually sit in a side room and listen
- 17:40Speaker 3: to Mark Simone from ten to twelve. That was like
- 17:42Speaker 3: his show prep. I said, it was the equivalent of
- 17:46Speaker 3: oh remember the greatest Italian comedian of all time grew
- 17:50Speaker 3: up in my household listening to those records. Pat Cooper,
- 17:53Speaker 3: Pascual le Vito Caputo. Well, I met later on in life,
- 17:58Speaker 3: and he would tell me, yeah, watch, I'm gonna go
- 18:00Speaker 3: up there, I'm gonna do my routine and look at
- 18:02Speaker 3: all these other comedians. They're gonna be stealing my lines
- 18:05Speaker 3: and writing them on napkins. And it was true, some
- 18:08Speaker 3: of the best comedians. So I'm I'm I'm patting Mark
- 18:15Speaker 3: Simon on the bat. He's not the only person that
- 18:19Speaker 3: has had his materials utilized and recycled again by others.
- 18:24Speaker 3: He's that good. But apparently Greg Kelly took great umbrage
- 18:29Speaker 3: to that. It's like, well, it's a fact, so it
- 18:32Speaker 3: will help you do a better program. You listen to
- 18:35Speaker 3: Mark Simon and you go on your own program and
- 18:38Speaker 3: you basically repeat what he said like comedians often do.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Oh man, he just went eplectic. Hey, yesterday, he's saying police,
- 18:49Speaker 3: you know somebody I know, Well, I think he was
- 18:51Speaker 3: referring to his own dad. Ray Kelly, you know, never
- 18:54Speaker 3: thought highly of Curtis Lee and the Guardian Angels. No
- 18:57Speaker 3: police ever did. Hey, God, you know this is very
- 19:01Speaker 3: similar to Andrew evilized como. Remember in that debate. When
- 19:05Speaker 3: I turned to Andrew, evilized Como was Armandami on the
- 19:08Speaker 3: stage the first mayoral NBC debate, and I looked at
- 19:12Speaker 3: Andrew and I said, Andrew, I knew your father, Mario.
- 19:16Speaker 3: You know Mario Como. Hey, I know you're listening. Kelly,
- 19:24Speaker 3: you know you know Ray Kelly. Greg, I know your father,
- 19:28Speaker 3: Ray Kelly. Your father, Ray Kelly. We've been at boxing
- 19:32Speaker 3: Mattress together because he was a Commissioner of boxing for
- 19:35Speaker 3: the State of New York. We've been to dinner together,
- 19:39Speaker 3: We've discussed public safety strategies on a wide level of things.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I've been at public events with him. He couldn't be
- 19:46Speaker 3: more of a fund well you, oh my god. And
- 19:53Speaker 3: what I what I couldn't quite understand is why at
- 19:58Speaker 3: the very end of his diatribe, which it's easy radio
- 20:03Speaker 3: to do if you're doing a full hour, Gotta understand,
- 20:06Speaker 3: Greg always had problems finishing his shift. That's why they'd
- 20:09Speaker 3: asked me to stay in the bullpen warming up there.
- 20:11Speaker 3: They jump in with him because he'd run out of
- 20:14Speaker 3: gas for whatever reason. I don't know, if his mind
- 20:17Speaker 3: was wandering. Whatever he said, tough time, you know, focusing focusing.
- 20:24Speaker 3: But then he ends his diatribe and he says, Curtis,
- 20:31Speaker 3: keep your mouth shut, if you know what's good for you.
- 20:37Speaker 3: I said to myself the last time I was said
- 20:41Speaker 3: to me on air at that same WABC Angels in
- 20:46Speaker 3: the morning, when I was doing mom Talk, when John
- 20:49Speaker 3: Gotti's senior had been found guilty for the fourth time
- 20:53Speaker 3: while on trial because of Sammy the Bullgravano was underbores
- 20:57Speaker 3: riding him out the memory X tapes about his ordered executions.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Lewis Kasman, supposedly his adopted son from the garment industry
- 21:09Speaker 3: Jewish kid from Long Island, turned out to be a
- 21:11Speaker 3: rat himself eating the parmesan cheese. Later on he's on
- 21:16Speaker 3: that phone. I'll never forget his words, Curtis, keep your
- 21:21Speaker 3: mouth shut, if you know what's good for you. Soon
- 21:27Speaker 3: after June nineteenth and nineteen ninety two, I got shot
- 21:32Speaker 3: five times with hollow point bullets in the back of
- 21:36Speaker 3: a yellow cab on my way to WABC to do
- 21:38Speaker 3: the morning show, on the orders of John Gotti Senior
- 21:41Speaker 3: to John Gotti Junior and the Gambato crime family. Michael
- 21:45Speaker 3: Leonardi did twenty years for that, and I survived and
- 21:53Speaker 3: I know, look, Greg Kelly, he's not the Gambino crime family.
- 21:57Speaker 3: But hey, don't be a forget you see tough guy.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Real tough guys don't have to act like they're tough.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Trust me, I'm a legitimate tough guy. We'll go to
- 22:12Speaker 3: your calls up next eight hundred three two one zero
- 22:15Speaker 3: seven ten at this your place to be from now
- 22:19Speaker 3: on seven ten WAR Talk Radio with Street Crack.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Literally Curtis Leewad joined sevent ten WR to guess ohs
- 22:29Speaker 1: from Mark Zamore.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Yeah, as I continue on till January twod here for
- 22:40Speaker 3: Mark Zimone. I appreciate the time at my newfound radio station,
- 22:45Speaker 3: but I've listened to over the years from time to time,
- 22:49Speaker 3: and now I listen to it all the time. I
- 22:51Speaker 3: asso shoot you at seven ten War. A lot of
- 22:54Speaker 3: alumni WABC here that dysfunctional family. Is he our board
- 22:59Speaker 3: operator here he fled the dysfunction as did Crash in
- 23:02Speaker 3: the mornings with Larry MENTI as a real savant from
- 23:06Speaker 3: Morris Park, the Bronx, and I know to some of
- 23:12Speaker 3: you it sounds like Nicchco Corleone. I'm settling all scores.
- 23:15Speaker 3: I am, little by little by little, by little. But
- 23:20Speaker 3: you have a right to know and you have a
- 23:23Speaker 3: right to be heard. So let's go first to Sean,
- 23:27Speaker 3: who's patiently on the line from Rockland County. Your turn
- 23:31Speaker 3: to be heard here at seven to ten w O
- 23:33Speaker 3: watch on Welcome.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Home, Curtis, and those out the clowns at the other station.
- 23:39Speaker 5: I don't listen to hit out anymore.
- 23:41Speaker 4: They just.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Fake guy. See you got an here thirty five years.
- 23:46Speaker 3: You can tell fake fake voice. I know who that is.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Come on, this is Curtis sleeve pro style here. Let's
- 23:55Speaker 3: go to Bob, who's calling from Montfel. Your turn to
- 24:00Speaker 3: be heard here at w or seven ten.
- 24:04Speaker 6: Bob, Thank you Curtis, and welcome back to what it's
- 24:08Speaker 6: no longer woman only radio. Thank goodness. And I just
- 24:13Speaker 6: want to say thank you to you and your wife
- 24:15Speaker 6: because those of us who know your history and we
- 24:19Speaker 6: lived it, we saw through the other people at the
- 24:22Speaker 6: other station. You know Greg Kelly, obviously he's got like
- 24:26Speaker 6: an anger problem, too much estrogen. And there's another guy
- 24:29Speaker 6: talk about Rockland County dominic.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Carter.
- 24:32Speaker 6: I wish you would send the angels up to Rockland County. Curtis.
- 24:37Speaker 6: It is out of control. It is out of control
- 24:40Speaker 6: and he lives with his head you know where. Wow, Well,
- 24:44Speaker 6: thank you, thank you, thank you. You know I live
- 24:46Speaker 6: in New Jersey. Thank you, Curtis.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Yeah, but all I need you to do is just
- 24:51Speaker 3: continue to listen to here seven ten W or Bob.
- 24:56Speaker 3: You don't need to get adjida to all of them. Hey, look,
- 25:03Speaker 3: in talk radio, you have a lot of eccentric characters.
- 25:05Speaker 3: I've certainly worked with them. I've certainly been called eccentric myself.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I've had my ups, my downs, but I think almost
- 25:13Speaker 3: all of them are well known to people. But sometimes
- 25:19Speaker 3: when you have an anger management issue, there are substances
- 25:25Speaker 3: out there that can keep that in check. Hey, look,
- 25:29Speaker 3: it's healthy, it's healthy. Let's go if we can to John,
- 25:34Speaker 3: who's calling from Staten Island. Your turn to be heard
- 25:37Speaker 3: here at seven to ten W. John.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Hey, Curtis, I'm so happy to hear you back on
- 25:44Speaker 5: the radio. We've met a few times, so I'm so
- 25:49Speaker 5: happy to be talking to here. WABC is definitely a
- 25:54Speaker 5: dysfunctional family dominic. Carter shows up to work grumpy every
- 25:57Speaker 5: single day. Lionel Square listened to the microphone. Sid Rosenberg
- 26:02Speaker 5: only cares about himself, toy's me Me, Me, Me Me,
- 26:05Speaker 5: I am Gray and Greg Kelly. He takes calls from
- 26:09Speaker 5: the wack o people who sent him books and they
- 26:13Speaker 5: wrote down a name to the wrong wrong people, Like
- 26:17Speaker 5: what kind of operation do they got going on?
- 26:19Speaker 6: Over?
- 26:20Speaker 3: He look John, John, that's their thing.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Uh.
- 26:25Speaker 3: If you're not happy with their broadcast, now you have
- 26:28Speaker 3: a place to come to. Maybe I was the sheepherder
- 26:33Speaker 3: and you were sheep for many years and that's all
- 26:36Speaker 3: you listen to. Well, now you have an opportunity to
- 26:39Speaker 3: come on over and graves on this talk radio field.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Maybe my substituting for Mark Simon will encourage more people
- 26:47Speaker 3: to do that. I would suggest now that we're in
- 26:50Speaker 3: the age of social networking, text it out, email it out,
- 26:55Speaker 3: phone it out, get the word out of that any
- 27:00Speaker 3: longer and more choices, And this is my choice. So
- 27:05Speaker 3: I know for many of you who followed me in
- 27:07Speaker 3: talk radio for what it'll be thirty six years in January,
- 27:12Speaker 3: you're welcome on over. Listen to seven to ten wor
- 27:15Speaker 3: as much as is humanly possible. And remember, unlike years
- 27:21Speaker 3: and years ago where it was live and local, that's it.
- 27:26Speaker 3: If you missed the broadcast, you couldn't recover it. Remember
- 27:29Speaker 3: the great Bob Grant, nobody better, King of Tark Radio
- 27:34Speaker 3: would do his opening monologue. You could never recapture that.
- 27:38Speaker 3: The whole Tri state area would stop to listen to
- 27:40Speaker 3: that opening monologue at three. Now, if you missed the program,
- 27:46Speaker 3: you can catch it on podcasts. See that's something that
- 27:50Speaker 3: never occurred before. Let's go if we can to uh Vic, Well,
- 27:56Speaker 3: I believe is calling from Pennsylvania. Your turn to be
- 28:00Speaker 3: heard here at seven to ten, w or Vic.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Great to hear you, Curtis. Curtis, I want to tell
- 28:07Speaker 4: you a quick story. You know, I used to listen
- 28:09Speaker 4: to Sid and if it wasn't for Bernie, he would
- 28:13Speaker 4: be nothing. But what a phone, the biggest phone he
- 28:17Speaker 4: could be. Well, they're all phonies there, but he seems
- 28:20Speaker 4: to be the biggest one. Talk about ego, you know
- 28:23Speaker 4: what I mean. And at one point I called up
- 28:27Speaker 4: when they were taking calls, he stopped taking calls to
- 28:30Speaker 4: let him know he had bad now Trump. And guess
- 28:33Speaker 4: what he said, Oh that's not true. I never bad
- 28:36Speaker 4: now Trump a big liar. But man, could you imagine
- 28:40Speaker 4: being in a foxhole with any of these guys? I
- 28:42Speaker 4: can't imagine it.
- 28:44Speaker 3: No, no, no, I tell you, I tell you one
- 28:46Speaker 3: thing straight up there. It was a much better show
- 28:50Speaker 3: when Bernard McGirk was with him because it was ik
- 28:53Speaker 3: ying and the yang, because when it's just said, it's
- 28:55Speaker 3: II me me, it's all about said looking. I think
- 28:58Speaker 3: he said this himself many times. He has low self esteem.
- 29:03Speaker 3: He's paranoid, neurotic. A lot of people in talker adio
- 29:07Speaker 3: that's the case. But Bernard was the ying to his yang.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Bernard was given an opportunity to do a program at
- 29:16Speaker 3: WABC what Imus clearly was in his latter years. Without
- 29:22Speaker 3: Bernard McGirk, Imus could not function. I was in the
- 29:26Speaker 3: broadcast studio. I saw how Bernie would feed him lines.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Bernie read the books, wasn't Imus, And towards the end
- 29:35Speaker 3: of Imus's career it was so obvious. But it was
- 29:38Speaker 3: Bernard mcgirk's wish to have his own show.
- 29:41Speaker 1: You know.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Imus didn't want that. Oh no, oh no, the show
- 29:47Speaker 3: following Imus in the morning. Bernard McGirk said it should
- 29:52Speaker 3: be my opportunity and he was right after all those years,
- 29:56Speaker 3: and he said, if you can only bring sid Rosenberg
- 29:58Speaker 3: up from Florida. He had just been fired. I think
- 30:01Speaker 3: for like the third or fourth time. Nothy's wrong with that.
- 30:04Speaker 3: That's how you know how long you've been in talk radio,
- 30:06Speaker 3: how many times you've been fired. But he was not
- 30:10Speaker 3: on the radio. Bernie said, I want Sid to be
- 30:13Speaker 3: with me. And I remember going down Hollywood, Florida at
- 30:19Speaker 3: the hard Rock We had a Guardian Angel conference of
- 30:22Speaker 3: the Floridian Guardian Angels, and I told the general manager
- 30:28Speaker 3: there I would go down and just do a little
- 30:30Speaker 3: background check on city. Had had some problems. And I
- 30:34Speaker 3: talked to a lot of people down there and said, oh, no, no, no.
- 30:36Speaker 3: His days of gallimantin cavorting getting into trouble, which he's
- 30:41Speaker 3: admitted is over. He's on the straight and arrow. I
- 30:45Speaker 3: came back, I gave the report. I remember walking into
- 30:47Speaker 3: the office of Chad Lopez. He had on his desk
- 30:51Speaker 3: a contract to hire Mike Lupeka, the great sports writer
- 30:56Speaker 3: for the Daily News but horrible on the radio ESPN.
- 30:59Speaker 3: You know it's not his medium. I said, you can't
- 31:03Speaker 3: do that, you can't sign that. That'll destroy WABC. I said,
- 31:07Speaker 3: come on, do this for Bernard McGirk. He's never asked
- 31:11Speaker 3: for anything other than that, and that's what happened. They
- 31:17Speaker 3: got that opportunity h mid Morning and then eventually the
- 31:21Speaker 3: Morning Show. And it's unfortunate that Bernard McGirk is no
- 31:25Speaker 3: longer with us because that was the ying to Sid Yang,
- 31:31Speaker 3: that was his wingman. Sid was Bernard's wingman, and Bernard
- 31:39Speaker 3: was certainly sid Rosenberg's wingman. In God's Father reference. When
- 31:46Speaker 3: you talk about Sid Rosenberg, think of Tessio.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, though Beret is back. Curtis leewa guest host
- 31:56Speaker 1: the Mark Simone Show on seven ten, woo.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Is Erek Adams swaggerman with no plan? Is he back
- 32:07Speaker 3: yet from vacationing at our tach Bears expense? Where is
- 32:12Speaker 3: Eric Adams this morning? As he plays out the clock?
- 32:17Speaker 3: It's interesting The Anti Defamation League has issued a report
- 32:20Speaker 3: on some of the people affiliated which are on Mandami
- 32:23Speaker 3: the incoming mayor as having had relationships with Schooly Louis
- 32:28Speaker 3: Farakhan in the Nation of Islam. Question, is shuld that
- 32:33Speaker 3: eliminate you from consideration of having any place in government period?
- 32:41Speaker 3: Well it should have eliminated Eric Adams from ever becoming
- 32:44Speaker 3: mayor of the City of New York. I wonder you
- 32:46Speaker 3: when I ran against him in twenty twenty one. Remember
- 32:48Speaker 3: and those two debates. I said he is crooked and
- 32:53Speaker 3: there will be chaos, and oh boy, was I right.
- 32:57Speaker 3: But he won't go away quietly. He just vacations at
- 33:01Speaker 3: taxpayers expense. And now all of a sudden he's the
- 33:06Speaker 3: first to question people's credentials when in fact, you couldn't
- 33:12Speaker 3: have been any more supportive of Schooy Louis fara Khan
- 33:15Speaker 3: back in the nineties and the early two thousand period. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:23Speaker 3: I know, I know. So what is a good litmus
- 33:25Speaker 3: test relationship to fra Khan? I think every rapper would
- 33:30Speaker 3: have to be excluded because look at their Instagram and
- 33:32Speaker 3: who's their ninety two year old Schooy Louis Farrakhan and
- 33:36Speaker 3: the worst anti Semite in America.
