Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
• 0:04
Whenever you're talking about somebody who has been exposed to
• 0:08
years and years of abuse, there is no doubt that
• 0:12
the trauma that they suffer in their lives moving forward
• 0:16
after that abuse doesn't go away. All they can do
• 0:20
is learn how to manage that trauma and try and
• 0:23
navigate their new normal. And unfortunately, a lot of times
• 0:27
it leads to substance abuse issues, and those substance abuse
• 0:31
issues continue to bloom, they continue to grow, until eventually
• 0:35
the person hits rock bottom and decides I have to
• 0:38
get help and try and fix what's going on. Or
• 0:41
as we saw with Carolyn, they die of an overdose.
• 0:46
And there really aren't too many other outcomes for people
• 0:49
who are addicted to drugs. Unfortunately, you notice there aren't
• 0:53
very many old junkies. Well there's a reason, folks. Okay,
• 0:57
you pumping up of this poison into your body. Eventually
• 1:01
it's gonna catch up with you. But when you're talking
• 1:04
about people who have suffered the trauma that Carolyn suffered
• 1:08
at the hands of Epstein, at the hands of Glenn
• 1:11
Maxwell's disgusting ass, Yeah, it's going to be a lifelong
• 1:15
process to try and get right, and unfortunately, not everybody
• 1:19
is going to be able to do it. And that's
• 1:22
one of the main reasons I go so hard in
• 1:24
the paint talking about the USVII and them taking money
• 1:27
right out of the survivor's pockets. Do you know how
• 1:29
expensive it is to go to a good rehab center
• 1:32
and get right. It is not cheat. So when you
• 1:35
have the US Virgin Islands collecting two hundred and ninety
• 1:38
million dollars of survivor money that could have been used
• 1:41
by these women for drug rehab, could have been used
• 1:44
by these women for therapy, whatever it might be. Yeah,
• 1:48
I'm gonna have a few things to say about that.
• 1:50
And that's another reason why I wasn't out here spiking
• 1:53
footballs and doing happy dances like some other people when
• 1:57
the US Virgin Islands got that bag. And for all
• 1:59
of their on sensical talk down there in the USVII,
• 2:02
there hasn't been too much walk. You would think that
• 2:05
collecting all that money, maybe they'd set something up for
• 2:08
Epstein survivors themselves. Nah, they're not gonna do that. This
• 2:12
money's going for XX and X. Meanwhile, we all know
• 2:15
the money's gonna end ub with some corrupt ass politician
• 2:18
or at that corrupt politician's favorite charity where he's gonna
• 2:21
get a little piece later on. Guess who's not getting
• 2:24
a piece? People like Carolyn, People who have been abused
• 2:28
by Epstein, People who have suffered trauma at the hands
• 2:30
of these animals for all these years, only once again
• 2:33
to get victimized by the United States Virgin Islands. Today's
• 2:37
article is from twelve News headline Trauma remains Epstein abused
• 2:43
victims tragic overdose shows enduring pain of survivors. Well, I
• 2:48
can tell you with a certainty that the pain that
• 2:51
has been caused by Epstein and by Maxwell has lasted
• 2:55
all these years, and a lot of the survivors that
• 2:58
I've talked to, they've all said the same thing, that
• 3:01
that trauma has been one of the hardest turtles to overcome.
• 3:06
The PTSD, all of the nightmares, the thoughts of what
• 3:11
happened to them, that's not easy to get rid of.
• 3:14
So it's a constant struggle for these women, day in
• 3:17
and day out to get right. Many survivors who are
• 3:22
either groomed, sexually abused, or trafficked as miners by now
• 3:25
deceased billionaire finance here, you mean pedophile finance here. Jeffrey
• 3:30
Epstein and his exploiters are still dealing with the trauma
• 3:33
years later, and it manifests in different ways. Right, Some
• 3:37
people become self destructive, They do drugs to try and forget.
• 3:41
Other people whom I have been abused might become a
• 3:44
sex worker because they think that's all they're good for. Look,
• 3:47
there's a lot of psychology that goes into this, and
• 3:50
to tell you the truth, I'm certainly not qualified to
• 3:53
dig deep as far as psychology goes, but as an observer,
• 3:57
it's very, very obvious the trauma that these women are
• 4:01
still suffering. Back in May, one of Epstein's survivors, Carolyn Adriano,
• 4:07
was found dead of an accidental overdose at the Double
• 4:10
Tree by Hilton in West Palm Beach. According to the
• 4:14
West Palm Beach Police Department, her children were there, her
• 4:17
husband was there. Just all bad And now you know
• 4:20
what the sad part is, her children are now going
• 4:23
to be traumatized as well. Imagine having to deal with
• 4:27
this situation as a kid. Your mom overdoses in a
• 4:30
hotel room where you are. You might not understand now
• 4:33
but as you get older and you start to understand
• 4:35
a little bit more about the world and about what's
• 4:38
going on, that's not going to be fun for these children,
• 4:41
and my heart really goes out to them. According to police,
• 4:45
her husband found her unresponsive that morning with her children
• 4:49
inside the hotel room. Fentanyl and prescription drugs were also found.
• 4:53
Police said, and how many times do we hear it?
• 4:56
I'm telling you right now, fentanyl is the scourge of
• 4:59
the earth. This shit has to go. The only problem
• 5:03
is there's no way to stop it with prohibitionist tactics.
• 5:08
We have to dig in deep, and we have to
• 5:10
deal with the pervasive problem of addiction in this country.
• 5:14
And unless we do that, there's no hope. Folks. We
• 5:17
can beat the drum until our hands fall off, we
• 5:20
can yell until we have no voice, but unless the
• 5:23
people in power decide that the stupidity that we're engaging
• 5:27
in doesn't work, then well we're gonna continue engaging in
• 5:31
stupidity and it won't be long until somebody you love
• 5:34
dies of an overdose. Two. Her testimony helped put Epstein's
• 5:38
accomplice Glenn Maxwell, behind bars. The local mother reportedly testified
• 5:43
years ago how she had been addicted to drugs to
• 5:45
numb the pain of Epstein's sexual abuse. And this is
• 5:49
just something you see all the time. Unfortunately, I cannot
• 5:53
tell you how many people I know who weren't even
• 5:56
abused but have gotten into the sex worker lifestyle have
• 6:00
ended up on drugs. That has to be a hard
• 6:03
go of it, right with a different guy all the time.
• 6:06
You know, it just can't be an easy life. So
• 6:09
I completely understand why somebody would look to escape. It's
• 6:13
very common for people with childhood abuse and sexual trauma
• 6:17
to turn to addicted behaviors because they don't know how
• 6:20
else to cope with it. Clinical psychotherapist Jennifer Tomco of
• 6:25
Clarity Health Solutions told CBS twelve News, it hurts all
• 6:29
the time. They just want to escape the pain, and unfortunately,
• 6:32
there's no escape from your own mind. You can run
• 6:35
away from threats, you can run away from other people,
• 6:38
you can run away from just about anything. You can't
• 6:41
get away from what's in your own mind. And that's
• 6:45
why people turn to drugs. That's why people turn to
• 6:47
alcohol because they can't deal with their reality. Healing, including
• 6:53
overcoming addictions and other substance abuse occurs in stages. The
• 6:58
first step is empathy can pass and psycho education to
• 7:02
help them understand that what they're going through now is
• 7:05
not forever. Make sure they understand that they are not alone,
• 7:09
she said, And that is true too. It's a very
• 7:12
tough struggle. But if you can find the willpower and
• 7:16
you can find the strength to say, you know what,
• 7:19
today's the day, and you have that support behind you,
• 7:22
you have a chance to kick in your addiction problems.
• 7:25
But unfortunately, a lot of people don't have that support,
• 7:28
They don't have the willpower, and they certainly don't have
• 7:31
the resources to do what they have to do. So
• 7:34
that's why we have the walking dead invading every city
• 7:37
in America. Palm Beach County lawyer Spencer Coven with Gold
• 7:42
Law litigated against billionaire pedophile Epstein over the past decade
• 7:47
and represented nine of his victims. He did not represent Andreano.
• 7:51
Even though Epstein is dead and Maxwell is behind bars,
• 7:55
survivors of Epstein will forever live with the abuse that
• 7:58
occurred to them. Couvin said. Many of Epstein's survivors were
• 8:02
recently paid out in settlements, but years ago, Couven said
• 8:06
many of his victims didn't have the money to seek
• 8:08
the proper treatment they needed to cope with the pain.
• 8:11
And that's the thing. When you're poor, forget it. There's
• 8:15
no hope. When you're poor man, the cycle is just perpetual.
• 8:18
There's no resources there for you. What are you going
• 8:20
to do? Go to the local Salvation Army shelter and
• 8:24
get you a bed to go and have a withdrawal.
• 8:26
In this day and age, it's not like that. It's
• 8:29
not like the old days where somebody goes and dries out,
• 8:32
goes cold turkey. That's not how it works anymore. And
• 8:35
that's because the synthetic drugs that they're taking are so powerful.
• 8:39
So we have to have the resources available if we're
• 8:41
going to help people. And until we have those resources available,
• 8:45
this is what you're going to see. A lot of society,
• 8:49
including the state attorney's office and federal investigators at the time,
• 8:53
were in complete disbelief. These young women had to convince
• 8:57
adults of what was occurring to them. Couvin explained, imagine
• 9:00
being such a jerk off that you don't listen when
• 9:04
all of these girls have the same story about Epstein.
• 9:07
What kind of dirty scumbag would not listen? Oh, I'll
• 9:10
tell you what kind, the kind that's found down in
• 9:12
Palm Beach, Florida. He said, for years they were denied
• 9:16
by potential partners and family members too. It really wasn't
• 9:20
until the Me Too movement came out that all of
• 9:23
a sudden there was a support system for these women.
• 9:26
But unfortunately for some, it was too late, Covin said.
• 9:30
And I have to tell you, even the whole Me
• 9:32
Too movement, they weren't around for the trial. Where were
• 9:35
they for Glen Maxwell's trial. Was anybody out there marching,
• 9:38
going crazy and demanding accountability? No, they were not. And
• 9:42
you all know why. It's not a political issue that's
• 9:45
going to move the needle. And if it doesn't move
• 9:47
the needle, forget it. You're not gonna have any of
• 9:50
the powers that be give a damn about what's going on.
• 9:53
Because the issue is they don't really care about our problems.
• 9:56
They care about making sure that you're voting quote unquote
• 10:00
the right way. That's what they really care about. If
• 10:02
they cared about our problems, well they'd address them. And
• 10:05
not only would they address them, well they'd be present.
• 10:08
And the facts are that the Me Too movement was
• 10:11
not present when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein and to survivors.
• 10:15
So while the movement itself might have set the tone,
• 10:18
there was really no help on the ground when it
• 10:21
comes to Epstein survivors and the trial against Glen Maxwell.
• 10:25
So for me, it was the tenacity of the survivors
• 10:28
themselves and their wherewithal and their refusal to give up
• 10:32
that led to this, not the me too movement. But
• 10:35
either way, there needs to be resources that are available
• 10:38
for people who are trying to get off of drugs.
• 10:40
There's just no doubt about it. And when we're talking
• 10:42
about Epstein survivors, shouldn't the US Virgin Islands the pony
• 10:46
up a few bucks maybe to set up some kind
• 10:48
of program to help with trauma, to help with Epstein
• 10:53
survivors who were dealing with drug addiction. I mean, they
• 10:56
got two hundred and ninety million dollars. They talked a
• 10:59
lot of talk about how they care about the survivors.
• 11:01
So how about we see a little bit of that
• 11:04
talk put into action the United States Virgin Islands. You're
• 11:08
on the clock. All of the information that goes with
• 11:12
