• 3:18
Speaker 4: City Councilman also policy director for Energy Efficient West Virginia,
• 3:22
Speaker 4: and Pepper's here. How you doing, my friend, I'm doing great.
• 3:24
Speaker 4: I got to listen to that Christmas show. That's a
• 3:27
Speaker 4: great line up. Those are also of my favorite people. Yeah,
• 3:29
Speaker 4: I mean it's somebody told me complimented, said what a
• 3:33
Speaker 4: great show it was. I said, well, it wasn't because
• 3:34
Speaker 4: of me. I can tell you that it was because
• 3:36
Speaker 4: of Pushkin and Amos Steele and of course all the
• 3:40
Speaker 4: other folks we threw in there as well, and Elisha
• 3:42
Speaker 4: is just fantastic. So yeah, it's a great show. It
• 3:46
  Speaker 4: was a was a great show. I mean, I several
• 3:49
Speaker 4: people really love the music, and I mean they just
• 3:52
Speaker 4: he used to get people sitting around and jamming a
• 3:53
Speaker 4: little bit, and I, who have no musical ability whatsoever,
• 3:57
Speaker 4: just try to play along.
• 3:58
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 3:59
Speaker 7: Likewise, I used to do radio show together. Actually okay
• 4:02
Speaker 7: on the little station here.
• 4:03
Speaker 4: Okay, I got you.
• 4:04
  Speaker 8: I guess.
• 4:04
Speaker 4: Yeah, Well she's fantastic talent. I mean, she really really is.
• 4:06
Speaker 4: And she and the interesting thing about that show is
• 4:09
Speaker 4: it is you know, uh, Pushkin and Johnny Compton who's
• 4:15
Speaker 4: a name of Steele, had gone back and forth, you know,
• 4:18
Speaker 4: texting thing they rehearsed in the green room. That's the
• 4:21
Speaker 4: only time that they ever got together. And just watching
• 4:24
Speaker 4: to me as a non musical person, watching the way
• 4:27
Speaker 4: musical minds work and just saying, okay, well let's do
• 4:29
Speaker 4: it in this key, and just jumping in and knowing
• 4:32
Speaker 4: that you know, maybe they didn't know the music, but
• 4:34
Speaker 4: they figured it out, and.
• 4:35
Speaker 6: It was It's amazing. It's magic to me.
• 4:38
  Speaker 4: It's magic to me. Yeah, I didn't realize. So I
• 4:41
Speaker 4: actually wrote all that out. You wear a lot of hats,
• 4:44
Speaker 4: Attorney Charleston City Councilman, director for Energy Efficient West Virginia.
• 4:49
Speaker 4: But primarily what I one to focus on today, and
• 4:52
Speaker 4: you and I talked about this a little bit over
• 4:54
Speaker 4: the weekend. Is your role as an attorney, particularly when
• 4:57
Speaker 4: it comes to student loans, and you've got some concerns
• 5:00
Speaker 4: as it has to do with the Department of Education.
• 5:03
Speaker 7: Yeah, there's some there's some things coming up that people
• 5:04
Speaker 7: should be aware of and make sure that they're protected
• 5:07
Speaker 7: if they have student loans. The BIDAMIN or the big
• 5:11
Speaker 7: The administration, the Trump administration, a lot of them has
• 5:16
Speaker 7: announced that they're going to start garnishing wages for student
• 5:19
Speaker 7: loans that are in default. And one of the concerns
• 5:22
Speaker 7: I have is that there's going to be people who
• 5:25
  Speaker 7: don't even realize they're in default. There's a lot of
• 5:27
Speaker 7: people it's out of side, out of mind, and they're
• 5:29
Speaker 7: like maybe maybe they forgot about me, you know. But
• 5:32
Speaker 7: so there's a concern that you know, if they're in default,
• 5:34
Speaker 7: that that that could that they could start heading having
• 5:37
Speaker 7: their wages garnished. And if they don't have their address
• 5:40
Speaker 7: updated with this with the federal government on, you know,
• 5:42
Speaker 7: this Department of Education, they may not get noticed of
• 5:45
Speaker 7: it and it might be a big surprise.
• 5:46
Speaker 4: Well and when you think about it, I mean, one
• 5:48
Speaker 4: of the chances that somebody has the same address, you
• 5:52
Speaker 4: know that they had twenty years ago when they were
• 5:54
  Speaker 4: in college.
• 5:55
Speaker 7: Right, and hopefully they've been on there since then, thirty
• 5:58
Speaker 7: whatever the case may be, right, right, Yeah, I mean,
• 6:00
Speaker 7: so just got to make sure it's updated and stuff
• 6:02
Speaker 7: like that, because there's been a lot of pausing, you know,
• 6:04
Speaker 7: even just the last five years, there was you know,
• 6:06
Speaker 7: there's the pause for COVID and so you know, maybe
• 6:10
Speaker 7: that people have moved and just didn't think to go
• 6:12
Speaker 7: on the student one website.
• 6:13
Speaker 4: We'll talking to attorney Immitt Pepper. The Day Island Show
• 6:16
Speaker 4: in five of d Live brought to you a part
• 6:17
Speaker 4: by Pinnacle Consultants. Poor indoor air quality can cause a
• 6:20
Speaker 4: variety of health issues allergies, respiratory problems, and more. Pinnacle
• 6:24
Speaker 4: off for specialized indoor air quality services for residential, commercial,
• 6:27
Speaker 4: and industrial type settings Pinnacle Corp. Dot net. Because what
• 6:30
Speaker 4: you don't know, Kennhut, all right, I'm just gonna ask
• 6:31
Speaker 4: an obvious question here, not trying to be argumentative or
• 6:34
Speaker 4: anything like that, but it's question's got to be asked,
• 6:36
Speaker 4: is what's the problem with that? I mean, if they
• 6:39
Speaker 4: took out the loans, shouldn't they have to pay them back?
• 6:42
  Speaker 6: Yeah?
• 6:42
Speaker 7: Well, I mean yeah, yes, could be you know, it
• 6:46
Speaker 7: depends on their situation and stuff like that. I mean,
• 6:48
Speaker 7: the weird thing about student loans is, you know, I'm
• 6:50
Speaker 7: a bankruptcy attorney. That's what I do most of the
• 6:52
Speaker 7: that's the hat I wear most of the right, right, Yeah,
• 6:55
Speaker 7: And so what we see with that, unfortunately, they're treated
• 6:58
Speaker 7: a lot differently, uh than other debts, and so you
• 7:02
Speaker 7: can't it's very very difficult. Now that I have had
• 7:05
Speaker 7: some success in the last you know, a couple of
• 7:07
Speaker 7: years to help people get out of student owners through bankruptcy, but.
• 7:11
Speaker 6: It's very difficult to do that.
• 7:12
Speaker 7: You have to you know, jump through some hoops and
• 7:14
Speaker 7: there's some you know, it's not everybody can. So that's
• 7:17
Speaker 7: one thing is that it's it's you can't even if
• 7:19
Speaker 7: you're in the situation where you're you're drowning in debt,
• 7:22
Speaker 7: you have to find bankruptcy. You're still stuck with those
• 7:25
Speaker 7: and even in that context, and it's it's a little
• 7:28
Speaker 7: bit walking. So I'm not going to get into it,
• 7:29
Speaker 7: but basically, you know, you can be in bankruptcy and
• 7:32
Speaker 7: there's a kind of bankruptcy we have to make payments
• 7:34
Speaker 7: and stuff, and you actually the student loans will get
• 7:36
Speaker 7: treated worse than other debts that you have that you can.
• 7:41
Speaker 4: Uh congress, you know, so I think, I mean you
• 7:45
Speaker 4: would think that a debt is a debt. I mean
• 7:46
Speaker 4: that's as a total outside I mean you would think
• 7:49
  Speaker 4: that a debt is a debt. I mean that's as
• 7:51
Speaker 4: a total outsider looking in. A debt is a debt
• 7:54
Speaker 4: is a debt. And you know, I don't know why
• 7:56
Speaker 4: it would be treated.
• 7:56
Speaker 7: In so taxes, for instance, you know, you can't get
• 7:59
Speaker 7: your taxes dis char if you you know, we're you
• 8:03
Speaker 7: have one hundred thousand dollars taxes or something from last year.
• 8:05
Speaker 7: You can't just fall bankruptcy and get rid of those.
• 8:08
Speaker 7: But if you do make payments, they get paid first.
• 8:11
Speaker 7: But student loans it's not like that. It's that you
• 8:12
Speaker 7: just they're just treated like every other debt, except you
• 8:15
Speaker 7: can't get rid of them. And a lot of that
• 8:17
Speaker 7: goes back to I mean, these a lot of the
• 8:19
Speaker 7: court cases and stuff, they hasn't they haven't changed this
• 8:21
Speaker 7: for a long time. So a lot of the court
• 8:23
Speaker 7: cases and stuff are from the nineties, from uh, you know,
• 8:26
Speaker 7: even sometimes the eighties whatever like this is and things
• 8:29
Speaker 7: aren't way different in terms of student loans since then.
• 8:31
Speaker 7: I mean, I went to school in the in the
• 8:33
Speaker 7: late nineties. You probably think went in their early nineties
• 8:36
  Speaker 7: or late eighties.
• 8:36
Speaker 4: You didn't have to say that, but go ahead, okay, sorry,
• 8:40
  Speaker 4: but you know.
• 8:41
  Speaker 6: It's it's different now.
• 8:43
Speaker 7: It's a lot more expensive that the debt amounts are
• 8:46
Speaker 7: a lot more and so, you know, unfortunately, I think
• 8:49
Speaker 7: that there, you know, it was there was a lot
• 8:51
Speaker 7: of it was misunderstood about how that was and so
• 8:54
Speaker 7: and nothing's changed since then because that's the precedent.
• 8:56
Speaker 4: Well, and one of one of the terms that I
• 8:59
Speaker 4: have heard, and again we're talking with Attorney Immit Pepper,
• 9:02
Speaker 4: one of the terms I've heard is the term predatory
• 9:04
Speaker 4: lenders h and that you know, look, nobody is saying
• 9:09
Speaker 4: and I've been very adamant about this, and you're saying, yes,
• 9:12
Speaker 4: you know, you do need to pay it back. But
• 9:15
Speaker 4: but there is there any onus, on on the lending
• 9:18
Speaker 4: institutions or the government or whomever that these loans came from.
• 9:22
Speaker 6: Yeah, and and there actually are some protections around that.
• 9:24
Speaker 7: I mean, so like, for instance, you know, Mountain State
• 9:27
Speaker 7: University that went out of business.
• 9:29
  Speaker 6: There's a lot there's other colleges.
• 9:31
Speaker 7: Like that they can be treated a little bit if
• 9:33
Speaker 7: it's worth talking to turn your somebody about. If you
• 9:36
Speaker 7: have a situation where your school you know, went under,
• 9:39
Speaker 7: you know, it could be that that's a reason to
• 9:41
Speaker 7: get rid of the student loans because it's you know,
• 9:43
Speaker 7: the value that you were getting was not what you
• 9:45
Speaker 7: thought you were getting what you should should have gotten.
• 9:47
Speaker 6: And there's things like that. But but yeah, you.
• 9:50
Speaker 7: Know, and just to be clear, this this new thing
• 9:52
Speaker 7: with Garnish forth, this is only for the federally backed
• 9:54
Speaker 7: student loans. There's also the private student loans that some
• 9:57
Speaker 7: of those are very predatory especially and then but yeah,
• 10:01
Speaker 7: if there's an issue with the school, there's things you
• 10:03
Speaker 7: can do with that. So there there are options for
• 10:06
Speaker 7: things like that. But look, I mean there's somebody's on
• 10:10
Speaker 7: social Security, somebody's you know, in their sixties or seventies
• 10:14
Speaker 7: and they still have student loans.
• 10:16
  Speaker 6: Uh.
• 10:17
Speaker 7: There are some situations where it's still very challenging to
• 10:19
Speaker 7: be able to get rid of them. And and it
• 10:21
Speaker 7: just something about that seems wrong because they've been making
• 10:24
Speaker 7: a lot of times, they've been making payments well over
• 10:26
Speaker 7: the amount that they've actually you know, borrow double or
• 10:29
Speaker 7: something like that or more. And and so you know, yes,
• 10:33
Speaker 7: people should pay their debts, no question about that.
• 10:36
Speaker 6: But there are you know, there are laws in place.
• 10:38
Speaker 7: There are you know, steam releases in place, so that
• 10:41
Speaker 7: where you know, if there's an issue where they should
• 10:44
Speaker 7: be able to wipe out debt and start fresh. That's
• 10:47
Speaker 7: what bankruptcy has been has been around for hundreds of
• 10:48
Speaker 7: years for you know, in our you know, I don't
• 10:51
Speaker 7: wanna say this flip on our president uses everybody uses
• 10:53
Speaker 7: it because it's it is a tool that's that is fair,
• 10:56
Speaker 7: and there's a there's a process. But unfortunately, with student loans,
• 10:59
Speaker 7: there's no way out.
• 11:00
Speaker 4: And so how does that change. That's a congressional thing
• 11:02
Speaker 4: that would have to change in congress. Yeah, okay, all right.
• 11:05
Speaker 4: We have a text here. I don't know if you
• 11:07
Speaker 4: can help with this or not, but it says, is
• 11:09
Speaker 4: there any type of support or relief you can get
• 11:11
Speaker 4: for your student loan payments if your spouse was declared
• 11:15
Speaker 4: disabled by their doctor but took like six or seven
• 11:18
Speaker 4: years to get any type of money, so you are
• 11:20
Speaker 4: a one income family with no welfare at all.
• 11:24
Speaker 7: I'm not gonna give avice on the area. It could
• 11:27
Speaker 7: be there could be something there. Yeah, I mean there's
• 11:30
Speaker 7: it's every situation is different and I talk to people
• 11:33
Speaker 7: all the time about this, and there's each situation has
• 11:36
Speaker 7: its own unique things, and there may be good options
• 11:39
Speaker 7: for making it less burden some so you can actually
• 11:42
Speaker 7: afford to make it. And look, I mean that's that
• 11:43
Speaker 7: is the truck, you know, just putting in the you know,
• 11:46
Speaker 7: their perspective, the Trump administrations say, look, we need to
• 11:48
Speaker 7: get more payments coming in, and you know, just garnishing
• 11:52
Speaker 7: someone's wages, making it so they can't live that isn't
• 11:54
Speaker 7: necessarily going to I mean, I guess get some money in,
• 11:57
Speaker 7: but but it's not going to be good for our
• 11:59
Speaker 7: for our I don't think. And so you know, there's
• 12:02
Speaker 7: there's things that we can do being paractive. This is
• 12:04
Speaker 7: not something where you can just partick your head in
• 12:05
Speaker 7: the sand. You have to be proact. You have to
• 12:07
Speaker 7: look into it. If you get the notice, you got
• 12:09
Speaker 7: to do something about it. And there are things you
• 12:11
  Speaker 7: can do.
• 12:11
Speaker 4: So you would urge them to contact an attorney, contact
• 12:14
Speaker 4: an attorney or you know, there's actually stuff you can do.
• 12:16
Speaker 7: If you get yours, you should in the notice find
• 12:18
Speaker 7: out that you can dispute it, and there's a basis
• 12:22
Speaker 7: for it, but you know, you can dispute it. There's
• 12:24
Speaker 7: some bases that you could actually get out from under
• 12:26
Speaker 7: that you can also it's called rehabilitate your loan, where
• 12:31
Speaker 7: you can get you can get out of default.
• 12:32
Speaker 6: There are ways you can you can do that.
• 12:34
Speaker 7: And then of course maybe the last choice would be,
• 12:36
Speaker 7: you know, something like bankruptcy. But none of these are
• 12:39
Speaker 7: great options. None of them are silver bullets.
• 12:41
Speaker 4: Well, I before we let you go, I'll ask you
• 12:43
Speaker 4: about a couple of the other hats you you wear.
• 12:45
Speaker 4: What's what's what's coming in the new year from Energy
• 12:48
  Speaker 4: Efficient West Virginia.
• 12:49
Speaker 7: Well, we just issued so the governor has this fifty
• 12:52
Speaker 7: by fifty plan, So fifty gigawats by twenty fifty. So
• 12:55
Speaker 7: that's tripling the amount of power that we have on
• 12:58
Speaker 7: the grid. And we just sent a comment send. I'm
• 13:00
Speaker 7: happy to send it to you, and I think I
• 13:01
Speaker 7: send it to Jeff over here this morning about that plan.
• 13:06
Speaker 7: And you know, our perspective is, look, we need to
• 13:07
Speaker 7: be doing If we're going to be doing that, I
• 13:10
  Speaker 7: don't know if that's a good idea or a bad
• 13:11
Speaker 7: idea to have that much power, but we definitely need
• 13:14
Speaker 7: to be doing everything. We need to be doing things
• 13:16
Speaker 7: to help rate payers to take control of their bills.
• 13:19
Speaker 7: So having battery to make it easier for that battery
• 13:23
Speaker 7: back up make it easy for you to have their
• 13:25
  Speaker 7: own power.
• 13:27
Speaker 4: I want to ask you before we let you go
• 13:29
Speaker 4: about your at large seat on Charleston City Council? Do
• 13:32
Speaker 4: you have it? Is there a council meeting tonight?
• 13:34
  Speaker 6: No?
• 13:34
Speaker 4: I thought they might take off for the for the hobbidays.
• 13:36
Speaker 4: You're gonna run for reelection?
• 13:39
  Speaker 6: I haven't announced jet.
• 13:40
Speaker 4: Okay, all right, all right, all right, but you can
• 13:42
Speaker 4: always come here and announce one way they are okay, okay, Yeah,
• 13:45
Speaker 4: you will make it a thing. Yeah, I'll even let
• 13:47
Speaker 4: you bring donuts. Isn't that nice of me?
• 13:49
Speaker 6: I will do that.
• 13:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, but Pepper, I appreciate youall. Wait a minute, if
• 13:53
Speaker 4: you file bankruptcy, will you lose your house? So it's
• 13:55
Speaker 4: a texture. I mean, I guess it depends on the situation.
• 13:58
Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean most of the time, we well, I
• 14:00
Speaker 7: just say, I mean the way the kind of bankruptcy
• 14:02
Speaker 7: that we file is the kind that we you know,
• 14:05
Speaker 7: we would make sure that you protect your house. I mean,
• 14:07
Speaker 7: we don't we don't file bankruptcy where people lose their
• 14:09
Speaker 7: house if they don't want to.
• 14:10

• 16:54
Speaker 4: you doing. You know I'm doing well. This is kind
• 16:58
Speaker 4: of interesting. I've been doing the show. It'll be six
• 17:00
Speaker 4: years in May. This may be the first time that
• 17:04
Speaker 4: I've ever had a guest to be on back to
• 17:07
Speaker 4: back shows. Now, there may have been something with the
• 17:08
Speaker 4: mayor that happened that you know, or a subject like
• 17:12
Speaker 4: Rogatta or something like that. But you were on the
• 17:13
Speaker 4: Wednesday show and then now you're back again. So you
• 17:17
Speaker 4: just want to take the job. Is that what you
• 17:19
  Speaker 4: want to know?
• 17:19
Speaker 11: I said, can I be judge? If you take this job,
• 17:23
Speaker 11: I might want to trade up with you. I don't know,
• 17:24
Speaker 11: certain days you probably do. Maybe maybe I'm just a
• 17:27
Speaker 11: special guy. I tell you what I was thinking about
• 17:29
Speaker 11: this afterwards, And I don't know what the ratings are,
• 17:32
Speaker 11: but I got a hope and believe that the Christmas
• 17:34
Speaker 11: Show it gets better every year, you know, I mean.
• 17:37
Speaker 4: Not because of the host. I can tell you that
• 17:39
  Speaker 4: it's it's it's it's the talent.
• 17:41
Speaker 11: The first year I was on it was with Caitlyn
• 17:43
Speaker 11: boy tech yep, right out of Lovi County, right.
• 17:45
  Speaker 4: She was great.
• 17:46
Speaker 11: And then Elisha's been here a couple of years for violin,
• 17:49
Speaker 11: and then I didn't even know the amous band steal
• 17:53
Speaker 11: Yeah existed, and it's been on my Spotify since the show.
• 17:56
Speaker 4: It's so, I mean, are they fantastic or what? Great?
• 17:58
  Speaker 4: And it's that's just that's my kind of music. That's
• 18:01
Speaker 4: what I like, a little southern rock, little blues. And
• 18:03
Speaker 4: I'll get a quick plug in because Tony the Taylor
• 18:05
Speaker 4: would want me to do this. I think they're doing
• 18:06
Speaker 4: New Year's Eve out at Marty gar Casino, so I'll
• 18:09
Speaker 4: get a little part in there for him, and right,
• 18:10
Speaker 4: all right, so all right, So what happened to you
• 18:13
  Speaker 4: Steelers yesterday?
• 18:14
  Speaker 3: Man?
• 18:15
Speaker 11: You know, I took the family up to Cleveland yesterday
• 18:19
Speaker 11: thinking that the Steelers were gonna win the AFC North there.
• 18:22
Speaker 11: I wanted to be there for it. And no, no, good, no, no,
• 18:27
Speaker 11: not happening. The worst game I think I've ever seen,
• 18:30
Speaker 11: definitely the worst game I've seen in person. And then
• 18:32
Speaker 11: I like to watch baseball. I like to go to
• 18:34
Speaker 11: PNC Park and watch the Pirates, and uh so I
• 18:37
Speaker 11: rarely go to football games, and this is probably like
• 18:39
Speaker 11: the third or fourth one. And I didn't realize by
• 18:41
Speaker 11: looking on stub Hub with the where we were. We
• 18:44
Speaker 11: ended up we were in the nosebleed, so we were
• 18:47
Speaker 11: right there. That lake effect wind was coming in right
• 18:50
Speaker 11: across our faces at the very top, and it was wet,
• 18:53
Speaker 11: and the Steelers put put together probably the worst game
• 18:57
Speaker 11: I've seen all season.
• 18:58
Speaker 4: So well, at least your team is still playing for
• 19:00
Speaker 4: a division title next weekend. You know, the Cowboys will
• 19:04
Speaker 4: play the Giants to close out the season without making
• 19:06
Speaker 4: the playoffs. But you know, people just get all bothered
• 19:11
Speaker 4: when I say this. Dak Prescott had an incredible year.
• 19:13
Speaker 4: He's a cowboy. He had an MVP type year except
• 19:18
Speaker 4: for the defense. We could score thirty eight, but the
• 19:21
Speaker 4: other team was scoring forty five and fifty or something
• 19:23
Speaker 4: like that. But you know, the offensive offensive explosion for
• 19:27
Speaker 4: the Cowboys, but unfortunately a defensive explosion on the other way.
• 19:31
Speaker 4: So we can't stop anybody. All right, So I'm going
• 19:34
Speaker 4: to ask you about about your first year on the
• 19:38
Speaker 4: bench overall. Overall, your takeaway overall, I like my job.
• 19:44
Speaker 11: I like being judge, and I think, you know, as
• 19:47
Speaker 11: far as a takeaway, I think that the judges here
• 19:49
Speaker 11: in this Circuit Court of Kanall County, and the prosecutors
• 19:53
Speaker 11: and defense attorneys in the bar here in Kanall County
• 19:56
Speaker 11: just do a pretty good job. I mean really, I
• 19:58
Speaker 11: mean as a lawyer, I practice for sixteen years before
• 20:01
Speaker 11: it became a judge. And you know, as a lawyer
• 20:03
Speaker 11: you always have your complaints and criticisms about, you know,
• 20:07
Speaker 11: how certain circuits or certain judges do this, that or
• 20:10
Speaker 11: the other. But no complaints from what I can tell.
• 20:12
Speaker 11: I mean, I think we all do a pretty good job.
• 20:14
Speaker 11: And it is as far as the substance of the cases.
• 20:18
Speaker 11: I mean, you go in knowing that, for example, abuse
• 20:22
Speaker 11: neglect cases and truancy cases are going to take up
• 20:25
Speaker 11: a lot of your dock at juvenile cases, but you
• 20:29
Speaker 11: don't realize how much until you're actually there in it,
• 20:33
Speaker 11: and you know, you try to work and do the
• 20:35
Speaker 11: best you can, you know, and administer justice where you
• 20:38
Speaker 11: can and try to get resolution where you can, which
• 20:41
  Speaker 11: I think is important. So that's kind of I don't
• 20:45
Speaker 11: know if that's what you're asking. That's kind of my
• 20:48
  Speaker 11: view of it.
• 20:48
Speaker 4: I mean, was that everything that you expected to be
• 20:51
Speaker 4: and what kind of surprises did you?
• 20:52
  Speaker 3: Well?
• 20:52
Speaker 11: I mean, again, I think everyone tells you and you
• 20:55
Speaker 11: read stories in the paper about again, you know, some
• 20:58
Speaker 11: of the horrific things that come out of those abuse
• 21:00
Speaker 11: and neglect cases, and then you're in it and you
• 21:02
Speaker 11: actually see where you know, evil does exist in the world,
• 21:08
Speaker 11: and uh that that can be tough to taste.
• 21:11
Speaker 4: Yeah, And I always thought you're absolutely right about that.
• 21:13
Speaker 4: I always thought when when you're dealing and you're on
• 21:17
Speaker 4: the bench in a in a small community and let's
• 21:19
Speaker 4: face them by West Virginia standards, Charleston is a large community,
• 21:22
Speaker 4: but by nationwide standards, it's a small community. And you
• 21:26
Speaker 4: are tasked judge with with situations where you I don't
• 21:32
Speaker 4: know that you're going to know the people necessarily, but
• 21:34
Speaker 4: you certainly know the areas that they come from, and
• 21:37
Speaker 4: and and you see a lot of the same type cases.
• 21:40
Speaker 4: I would think that would make a little bit more difficult.
• 21:41
  Speaker 11: As a judge.
• 21:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, a little bit.
• 21:45
Speaker 11: I mean other than other than the Again, the the
• 21:49
Speaker 11: the scenario, scenarios and circumstances that may make part of
• 21:53
Speaker 11: may may make some people's nightmares that you see in
• 21:56
Speaker 11: front of you, the fact patterns. The other thing too
• 21:58
Speaker 11: is that the you know, being able to put your
• 22:04
Speaker 11: own opinion aside and just do what the law says,
• 22:08
Speaker 11: and that that that that's that can be tough. And
• 22:10
Speaker 11: you know there have been I've had a number of
• 22:12
Speaker 11: cases and I can't go into details. So firstly, but
• 22:16
Speaker 11: where you know, uh, citizen Lindsey or former state Senator
• 22:21
Speaker 11: Lindsay may have thought one thing, but the law says
• 22:23
Speaker 11: the other. And then that that's so important to follow
• 22:25
Speaker 11: through as a judge, to do what the law requires.
• 22:28
Speaker 4: That goes back to your training as an attorney too,
• 22:30
Speaker 4: because I mean as an attorney, you know, you've you've
• 22:33
Speaker 4: got to work with your clients on on just yeah,
• 22:36
Speaker 4: and I just had an attorney on right before you
• 22:38
Speaker 4: and yeah, and you have to you have to you
• 22:42
Speaker 4: have to take a look at the law, you know,
• 22:44
Speaker 4: and uh and not and not always your opinions.
• 22:47
Speaker 11: Absolutely and it and it's just to do that because
• 22:50
Speaker 11: you know, the judiciary is the consistency and stability of
• 22:54
Speaker 11: our government, right. That's why you there are certain rules
• 22:57
Speaker 11: in place like stereodecisives, which is a fancy way of
• 22:59
Speaker 11: saying judges must follow precedent because that's what the electorate
• 23:04
Speaker 11: and the government require to stabilize the system of government
• 23:08
Speaker 11: that we have the luxury of having here in America.
• 23:11
Speaker 11: So I think that's important. That's an important role for
• 23:14
  Speaker 11: judges to fulfill.
• 23:16
Speaker 4: Talking again with Judge Richard Lindsay, It's nine thirty Dave

• 23:52
  Speaker 4: the public?
• 23:53
  Speaker 11: Rich?
• 23:53
Speaker 4: I mean, because here's what you hear all the time,
• 23:55
Speaker 4: and again this kind of goes back to what you
• 23:57
Speaker 4: said about following the law. There is a conception, misconception
• 24:04
Speaker 4: whatever all over where people say, well, you know the
• 24:10
Speaker 4: you know, there's some horrific case or maybe not a
• 24:12
Speaker 4: horrific case, and they read the headlines. You know that
• 24:16
Speaker 4: the people don't feel that that the penalties were harsh enough.
• 24:22
Speaker 4: And I would think that's one of the misconceptions sometimes
• 24:24
Speaker 4: is that as judges you are tasked again with doing
• 24:28
Speaker 4: what the law says when they're sentencing guidelines and things
• 24:31
Speaker 4: like that. Is that one of the biggest misconceptions, you think.
• 24:34
Speaker 11: You know, I think that that that probably is the case.
• 24:37
Speaker 11: I mean I think that, you know, most people don't
• 24:40
Speaker 11: know enough about the law. And that's no criticism of them.
• 24:42
Speaker 11: I mean, most people don't find themselves in the judicial building, right,
• 24:47
Speaker 11: Most people don't find themselves in hiring lawyers or or
• 24:51
Speaker 11: before courts. So it's kind of a unique circumstance for them,
• 24:55
Speaker 11: especially without that experience. And you know, I think that
• 25:00
Speaker 11: the I think the judiciary we could do a little
• 25:02
Speaker 11: bit more in educating the public. But that's for a
• 25:04
Speaker 11: different day. But but as far as a misconception, I
• 25:07
Speaker 11: think you're correct, Dave. I mean I think that you know,
• 25:09
Speaker 11: you see a headline and you see someone get a
• 25:12
Speaker 11: sentence that you can't understand. More often than not, judges
• 25:17
Speaker 11: really don't have a choice. It's not like you can
• 25:21
Speaker 11: add any more time than what the statute allows for
• 25:25
Speaker 11: a particular penalty or a plea. And and so I
• 25:29
Speaker 11: you know, I would just ask those folks who may
• 25:32
Speaker 11: be upset with any any decision of judge makes try
• 25:35
Speaker 11: to do take take a breath, maybe do a little
• 25:38
Speaker 11: research and figure out, you know, whether or not you
• 25:40
Speaker 11: believe he or she did the right thing.
• 25:42
Speaker 4: And you're a former legislator, as you mentioned, you were
• 25:44
Speaker 4: state state senator. Some of those things, you know, you
• 25:46
Speaker 4: probably just I know you can't do this, but you
• 25:48
Speaker 4: probably just want to say, hey, contact your legislator. You know,
• 25:51
Speaker 4: I'm going by what the law says here.
• 25:52
Speaker 11: Yet absolutely absolutely they you know, the legislature, they they
• 25:56
Speaker 11: make the law. Right that just like any any eighth
• 25:59
Speaker 11: grade Civics course, right, you know, the executive enforces the law,
• 26:02
Speaker 11: the legislature makes a law, and the judiciary interprets the law.
• 26:06
Speaker 11: So it you know that if you keep that in mind,
• 26:09
Speaker 11: and then like I said, you know, take a moment
• 26:12
Speaker 11: in time or a couple of moments to take a
• 26:14
Speaker 11: look at what actually is happening, then I think people
• 26:18
Speaker 11: would be more be more comfortable with any decision. Having
• 26:22
Speaker 11: said that, like I said, I think that you know,
• 26:25
Speaker 11: we could probably do more as judges or as a
• 26:28
Speaker 11: judiciary and educating the public. And I know the Supreme
• 26:30
Speaker 11: Court's done a good job of opening the process up
• 26:33
Speaker 11: to the public. They've got a lot of things going
• 26:35
Speaker 11: on over there at the Capitol Building that is more interactive,
• 26:38
Speaker 11: and they go see justices, go see students at schools
• 26:42
Speaker 11: throughout the state. And I think that's good too.
• 26:44
Speaker 4: So go back to your time as a legislator, a
• 26:47
Speaker 4: state senator. What what was it that What were some
• 26:50
Speaker 4: of the things that you encountered as a legislator that
• 26:53
Speaker 4: you think may may help you out as a judge.
• 26:57
Speaker 11: I think that, you know, one of the things I've
• 27:00
Speaker 11: always prided myself and when I was in the legislature
• 27:03
Speaker 11: and just generally speaking, and I enjoy being around people
• 27:07
Speaker 11: and I try to take I try to give them
• 27:11
Speaker 11: as much opportunity to talk to me. And that's what
• 27:14
Speaker 11: was the same with the legislature. I was always available
• 27:16
Speaker 11: to my constituents to talk to me and to hear
• 27:19
Speaker 11: me out if they disagreed with me, or hear me
• 27:20
Speaker 11: out to try to help them. And I try to
• 27:23
Speaker 11: take that same type of direction in the courtroom. I
• 27:28
Speaker 11: really try to take my time and explain my decision
• 27:31
Speaker 11: one way or the other. Give everyone an opportunity to speak.
• 27:35
Speaker 11: I think half the time, you know, people just want
• 27:38
Speaker 11: that opportunity to be heard by somebody. And if you
• 27:42
Speaker 11: have a claim or a controversy in my courtroom, I
• 27:45
Speaker 11: always try to make the extra effort to give you
• 27:48
Speaker 11: that time to speak.
• 27:50
Speaker 4: So so Richard Lindsay, it's always a pleasure to have
• 27:52
Speaker 4: you on the show, my friend. It's always too quick.
• 27:55
Speaker 11: I mean, you know, I got the time, man, I know,
• 27:58
Speaker 11: I appreciate you, and I appreciate the opportunity to talk
• 28:00
Speaker 11: to you. I saw the mayor in before.
• 28:02
Speaker 4: Yeah you know, yeah, I.
• 28:03
Speaker 11: Guess he's taking up Mayor Mondays now.
• 28:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's on every Monday.
• 28:07
  Speaker 12: Yeah.
• 28:07
Speaker 4: We got to sell. We're trying to sell some books
• 28:09
Speaker 4: for him. I hear you. I hear you. By the way,
• 28:11
Speaker 4: if you haven't gotten I will get an update on
• 28:13
Speaker 4: what the status of the books are. You got to
• 28:15
Speaker 4: read the book. Well, last I heard it was sold
• 28:16
Speaker 4: out yet it is, but you're supposed to be more
• 28:18
Speaker 4: coming in so after the first of the years. So
• 28:19
Speaker 4: we'll talk to Danny about that. Read the book, rich
• 28:21

• 28:24

• 31:47
Speaker 4: Danny Jones is here. Hey, doing man, I'm doing all right.
• 31:50
Speaker 4: Thank you for being here. So what's the deal with
• 31:52
Speaker 4: the tire man? You posted this picture on social media
• 31:55
Speaker 4: of your tire got just basically slashed by our bridge.
• 31:58
  Speaker 4: Talk about it.
• 32:00
Speaker 12: We were all coming back from Jarrett in town, you know,
• 32:05
Speaker 12: we were all coming back from Cracker Barrel. So we're
• 32:10
Speaker 12: crossing the bridge going to the east end and right
• 32:16
Speaker 12: there at the beginning of the bridge. I want people
• 32:18
Speaker 12: to know this and watch out for it, because I'm
• 32:21
Speaker 12: not the only one people have told me, and it
• 32:26
Speaker 12: my tire hit that hit whatever it was there and
• 32:31
Speaker 12: it put a hole in the tire big enough for
• 32:33
Speaker 12: Jarrett to put his fists through.
• 32:35
Speaker 4: I mean, it didn't look like that's not your run
• 32:37
Speaker 4: of the mill. I hit a pothole, flat tire. It
• 32:40
Speaker 4: looks like that. I mean that thing was demolished at
• 32:42
Speaker 4: the picture I saw this posting.
• 32:43
Speaker 12: It was and it's going to take me till tomorrow
• 32:47
Speaker 12: to get a tire to fit it. I so went
• 32:51
Speaker 12: up last night and the Cadillac wouldn't start. So I
• 32:54
Speaker 12: went up this morning. I said, I give it another shot,
• 32:57
  Speaker 12: and it started.
• 32:57
  Speaker 4: Okay.
• 32:58
Speaker 12: So I'm driving the Cadillac.
• 33:00
Speaker 4: Okay. Look, now, explain exactly where what bridge that we're
• 33:03
  Speaker 4: talking about.
• 33:04
Speaker 12: Outside or the Canall City Bridge.
• 33:07
  Speaker 4: Okay. Let's suppose you're.
• 33:09
Speaker 12: Coming back from from you actually be heading west okay, okay,
• 33:19
Speaker 12: but you're heading to the east end and right at
• 33:23
Speaker 12: the beginning of the bridge that's where the hole is
• 33:27
Speaker 12: and can All City Bridge Okay.
• 33:29
Speaker 4: And this is like a major, major pothole.
• 33:32
Speaker 12: It has to be.
• 33:32
Speaker 4: And when did this happen last last night? Okay?
• 33:35
Speaker 12: And and the funny thing is we got it back
• 33:40
Speaker 12: and it didn't hurt the rim and uh, it's down
• 33:44
Speaker 12: at JP Auto who I'd recommend on the west side
• 33:48
Speaker 12: right now. And but it really tore it up bad.
• 33:54
Speaker 12: So what I did was I posted the picture the
• 34:00
Speaker 12: tire and then I notified people of be careful, and
• 34:05
  Speaker 12: I called, I don't know any other legislator, I don't
• 34:08
Speaker 12: know those are legislators. Now, I called Katie Young, I said,
• 34:14
Speaker 12: I know this in your area, She says, I don't care,
• 34:17
Speaker 12: I'll help you. So I told her where it was.
• 34:20
Speaker 12: And because it's dangerous.
• 34:22
Speaker 4: Thirty six street Bridge is a technical name of it,
• 34:24
  Speaker 4: according to Attack.
• 34:25
Speaker 12: And so hopefully they're going to do something in channel thirteen.
• 34:30
Speaker 12: I saw Savannah Young this morning at Starbucks and and
• 34:36
Speaker 12: she said she saw it, and she just texted me,
• 34:40
Speaker 12: I think they're going down look at it.
• 34:41
Speaker 4: Okay, So be warned if you're going to be tracked.
• 34:44
Speaker 4: Because this was late last night. Chances are if they
• 34:46
Speaker 4: are fixing it that they didn't get it fixed. I mean,
• 34:48
Speaker 4: I wouldn't think that they got it fixing in that
• 34:50
Speaker 4: short amount of time. Yeah.
• 34:52
Speaker 12: Well, and like everything else in your car, when you're
• 34:57
Speaker 12: you think you're completely innocent on everything, you feel violated,
• 35:02
Speaker 12: you know. And then I got all this information. You
• 35:07
Speaker 12: can turn it in and and quarter Claims will pay you.
• 35:12
Speaker 12: It'll take forever. And I thought, well, if I do that,
• 35:16
Speaker 12: the taxpayers have to pay it.
• 35:18
  Speaker 8: You know.
• 35:19
  Speaker 4: That's you.
• 35:20
Speaker 12: Yeah, right, So I don't know what I'm going to do.
• 35:23
Speaker 12: I may just eat it, you know. So do you
• 35:26
Speaker 12: have a good Christmas? I had a real nice Christmas,
• 35:29
Speaker 12: and and you know, with charity in town.
• 35:35
Speaker 4: When when does he go back?
• 35:36
  Speaker 8: Twelve?
• 35:37
Speaker 4: Okay, so he got him for a while then.
• 35:39
Speaker 12: Yeah, it's it's just you know him and Andrew both.
• 35:44
Speaker 12: I mean, it just makes me melt. When you're seventy
• 35:47
Speaker 12: five years old and you have children that age, it's
• 35:51
Speaker 12: kind of like having grandchildren. Yeah, it is so one
• 35:55
Speaker 12: to nineteen, and one's going to be eighteen in February,
• 35:59
Speaker 12: so it's pretty exciting.
• 36:02
Speaker 4: And he's still enjoying his his time at the military.
• 36:06
Speaker 4: It's hard, yeah, and the way said it would be easy,
• 36:09
Speaker 4: it's really hard. And you went through a military I.
• 36:13
Speaker 12: Went through three years of military school and then two
• 36:15
Speaker 12: years in the Marine Corps. Yeah, and I'm still trying
• 36:18
Speaker 12: to figure out how how the Steelers got beat by
• 36:20
Speaker 12: the brown How does that happen?
• 36:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, well, you know it's why I was talking you know,
• 36:26
Speaker 4: Rich Lindsay, the judge is a big Steeler fan, and
• 36:28
Speaker 4: I said, hey, at least your team is still alive.
• 36:31
  Speaker 4: My team's Dallas and they're you know, they're they're they're out.
• 36:34
Speaker 4: They've been out for a couple of weeks by the Browns. Yeah,
• 36:37
Speaker 4: it's it's pretty bad. Aaron Rodgers did not look good.
• 36:40
Speaker 4: But I mean the Bills also didn't do so well
• 36:43
Speaker 4: yesterday either. But uh, my wife's family, they're all big
• 36:46
Speaker 4: Bears fans, you know, being from Chicago, so they're they
• 36:49
Speaker 4: got beat last night, but they're they're feeling pretty good.
• 36:52
Speaker 3: But I like coach.
• 36:54
Speaker 4: I'm a big coach Tomlin guy. And any other time
• 36:58
Speaker 4: that touchdown in the end zone. I saw to my
• 37:00
Speaker 4: neighbor about this, who's a Steeler fan. That final play
• 37:02
Speaker 4: when Rogers put the ball in the end zone, that
• 37:04
Speaker 4: was past interference. But they're not going to call it
• 37:06
Speaker 4: on the last play of the game. That was I mean,
• 37:09
Speaker 4: that's that's simply not gonna happen. And Rogers was looking
• 37:11
Speaker 4: around for a flag and in my opinion, that was
• 37:14
Speaker 4: past interference. However, they're simply not going to call that
• 37:18
Speaker 4: on the last player of the game. Do you do
• 37:19
  Speaker 4: New Year's resolutions?
• 37:21
  Speaker 8: No?
• 37:22
  Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't need it. I don't either. I will
• 37:25
Speaker 4: say this. This is the time of year, though, Danny,
• 37:27
Speaker 4: when people do tend to look back and look ahead,
• 37:32
Speaker 4: and I want to. I want to look back on
• 37:34
Speaker 4: the national front. Any major surprises for you on the
• 37:40
Speaker 4: national front, I mean, you know, Trump's popularity on the
• 37:44
Speaker 4: on a nationwide level continues to go down. Not in
• 37:47
Speaker 4: West Virginia, though so in any big surprise, Not in
• 37:51
Speaker 4: West Virginia, though so in any big surprises in the
• 37:54
  Speaker 4: year twenty.
• 37:55
Speaker 12: Twelve, life, wait and see what happens on this medical front. Okay,
• 37:59
Speaker 12: let's see what happened. I want to explain something to
• 38:02
Speaker 12: people about the Affordable Care Act.
• 38:05
  Speaker 4: It passed.
• 38:08
Speaker 12: Two thousand and ten something like that, and they had
• 38:14
Speaker 12: we were able to get a bunch of Medicare money,
• 38:17
Speaker 12: I mean Medicaid money. You were able to get it
• 38:19
Speaker 12: if you wanted it, and we were one of the
• 38:23
Speaker 12: states said let's go for it. Or I can't remember
• 38:27
Speaker 12: what year it was, Okay, we'll look it up. But
• 38:31
Speaker 12: so it really helped this state. You know, we're a
• 38:34
Speaker 12: poor state. There were two the Affordable Care Act was
• 38:40
Speaker 12: propped up by taxes, and I'll give you two. One
• 38:45
Speaker 12: was the medical device tax, and when the Republicans got
• 38:50
Speaker 12: in charge, boom, it's gone. The second was what's called
• 38:57
Speaker 12: a Cadillac tax on mainly union healthcare plans because they
• 39:07
Speaker 12: were so good, they were going to add a tax
• 39:10
Speaker 12: to those. Well, well, can't have that. So that's another
• 39:15
Speaker 12: tax that was gone, the Affordable Care Act. Just what
• 39:19
Speaker 12: the biggest accomplishment of the Affordable Care Act was to
• 39:23
Speaker 12: tell people you have to insure people. You know people
• 39:27
Speaker 12: that you can't just tell them you can ensure them.
• 39:29
Speaker 12: You're going to ensure them. It's an exchange. You can
• 39:34
Speaker 12: buy insurance. It's expensive, it's got high deductibles, and but
• 39:44
Speaker 12: it's but that's all it is, really is an exchange.
• 39:47
Speaker 4: The Obamacare Affordable Care Act signed into law by President
• 39:51
Speaker 4: Obama March twenty third, twenty ten.
• 39:54
Speaker 12: Yeah, and then the Republicans took over, Remember how they
• 39:58
Speaker 12: got shell liked. The Republicans took over, and they just
• 40:02
Speaker 12: they wanted to get rid of it just because it
• 40:04
Speaker 12: was They named it Obamacare, which I noted is a
• 40:10
Speaker 12: term of disrespect. But then Obama picked it up.
• 40:14
Speaker 4: Yes he wasn't the first one that said it, but
• 40:16
Speaker 4: he kind of took and ran with it.
• 40:19
Speaker 12: And if they'd have left those taxes in place, it
• 40:29
Speaker 12: may it may have helped drive the price down. But
• 40:33
Speaker 12: if you're going to drive the price something down, you've
• 40:35
Speaker 12: got to have money coming in to make that work.
• 40:39
Speaker 12: And when you strip away the taxes to make that happen,
• 40:44
Speaker 12: the price is going to go up. And that's what
• 40:46
  Speaker 12: happened to the.
• 40:47
Speaker 4: Affordable Care Act became not so affordable.
• 40:50
Speaker 12: Well, in the Affordable Care Act is a Republican plan.
• 40:55
Speaker 12: You know, the guys that came up with it were Republicans.
• 40:58
Speaker 4: We'll talk about the some of the election stuff, of course,
• 41:02
Speaker 4: you know, we we we saw some Democrats uh uh
• 41:06
Speaker 4: that were elected in some pretty contentious races, and Republican
• 41:09
Speaker 4: governors and things of that nature. New Jersey, uh, Virginia
• 41:12
Speaker 4: has its first female. It wasn't that much of a
• 41:15
Speaker 4: surprise because some of those areas were we were you know,
• 41:19
  Speaker 4: blue areas.
• 41:19
Speaker 12: Anyway, they yeah, it wasn't a big deal, right, Okay, what.
• 41:23
Speaker 4: About Mundammie though, you were the first person that I
• 41:27
Speaker 4: had heard anywhere especially you know.
• 41:30
Speaker 12: You better watch what's gonna happen in New York.
• 41:32
Speaker 4: To come on this show. Whenever he announced he was running,
• 41:36
Speaker 4: and you said keep an eye on this, and and
• 41:39
Speaker 4: he won, and he won handily, well in New York City.
• 41:43
Speaker 12: Let me tell you something about him. Here's what he's
• 41:45
Speaker 12: going to learn pretty quickly. They're going to have a
• 41:48
Speaker 12: bad winner up there, and he's going to learn what
• 41:52
Speaker 12: it what it's like to have to deal with snowplows
• 41:56
Speaker 12: and garbage and picking up garbage with snowplows or I mean,
• 42:01
Speaker 12: being mayor is not just about It's not an exercise
• 42:07
Speaker 12: in philosophy. And Albany is not going to allow him
• 42:17
Speaker 12: to do some of this socialist baby talk raising taxes
• 42:26
Speaker 12: on people. And if they do raise taxes on people,
• 42:31
Speaker 12: I mean, no, I don't know where Steven Schwartzman. He
• 42:34
Speaker 12: lives in the most expensive building in New York. He
• 42:37
Speaker 12: lives in John D. Rockefeller, the first One's old apartment,
• 42:42
Speaker 12: And I don't know where his legal residence is. But
• 42:46
Speaker 12: he's a multi, multi, multi billion billion billionaire, and I
• 42:50
Speaker 12: was thinking he could keep that apartment and he could
• 42:54
Speaker 12: stay there five and a half months a year, and
• 42:59
Speaker 12: he could moved to Florida. And and that's what a
• 43:03
Speaker 12: lot of them will do if it gets real bad.
• 43:07
Speaker 12: And it's already I mean, people have already left. They've
• 43:11
Speaker 12: left California and they've left New York over the taxes, right.
• 43:16
Speaker 4: I got a couple of friends of mine who are
• 43:19
Speaker 4: from southern West Virginia. They both live in New York City,
• 43:22
Speaker 4: and they both tend to be a little bit more liberal.
• 43:25
Speaker 4: One of them much more than the other. And he
• 43:27
Speaker 4: and I, you know, kind of text back and forth
• 43:29
Speaker 4: about things going on to New York City. He seems to think,
• 43:32
Speaker 4: and he's somebody that's got some money, okay. He seems
• 43:36
Speaker 4: to think that people are pushing the panic button on Mondamie.
• 43:41
Speaker 4: And I never asked him whether he voted for him
• 43:43
Speaker 4: or not, but he seemed to think people are pushing
• 43:45
Speaker 4: the panic button because of that term democratic socialist, that
• 43:48
Speaker 4: a lot of the things. Much like Trump, he's going
• 43:51
Speaker 4: to be able to say I'm going to do this,
• 43:52
Speaker 4: do this, and this, but not be able to actually
• 43:54
  Speaker 4: do it.
• 43:55
Speaker 12: Yeah, but his his Yeah, his rhetoric though, is pretty
• 43:59
Speaker 12: and for me, it's pretty pretty dangerous.
• 44:03
Speaker 4: I mean, what's the most dangerous thing you've heard.
• 44:05
  Speaker 12: He's an Islamist. He's a he's like, he wants to
• 44:10
Speaker 12: turn New York into dearborn Michigan. And there's giantist and
• 44:17
Speaker 12: there's Islamist, and Islamist is a person that wants to
• 44:22
Speaker 12: go through the system but turned everything into Islam and
• 44:28
Speaker 12: Suria and the whole business. And I believe that's what
• 44:31
Speaker 12: he is. And of course he doesn't believe Israel should
• 44:34
Speaker 12: have the right to exist.
• 44:36
Speaker 4: So how does he get elected in New York City?
• 44:38
  Speaker 12: I don't know. I'll never figure that out. I mean,
• 44:43
Speaker 12: it wasn't even closed, Danny, twenty five years after nine
• 44:46
Speaker 12: to eleven. I mean, you just couldn't. You couldn't make
• 44:50
  Speaker 12: it up.
• 44:51
Speaker 4: And it wasn't just the promise we got to go
• 44:53
Speaker 4: to break? But was it? Was it just the promise
• 44:57
Speaker 4: of a lot of free stuff and forced affordability.
• 45:01
Speaker 12: I just think yeah, And I think it's the the
• 45:05
Speaker 12: AOC effect, you know. I think it's AOC and her crowd.
• 45:13
Speaker 12: And George Will said he's all for it, because when
• 45:19
Speaker 12: you have a socialist and trying to do some of
• 45:23
Speaker 12: the foolishness, is this guy wants to do It'll, I'll
• 45:27
Speaker 12: turn people around pretty quickly.

Speaker 4: Most of what I've seen from him, he doesn't even
• 50:03
  Speaker 4: address religion.
• 50:05
Speaker 12: Well, you'd have to go back. He's his words towards
• 50:10
Speaker 12: Israel and uh you mean now, oh okay, I agree, okay,
• 50:17
Speaker 12: but his history is uh his he's in Islamist. He
• 50:23
Speaker 12: he he wants to do what they've done in Dearborn, Michigan.
• 50:27
Speaker 12: They've got streets named after terrorists. I mean they want

Speaker 12: to I mean they want the women to be wearing

• 51:16
  Speaker 12: I don't know of anybody. I told her. I don't
• 51:22

• 51:27
Speaker 12: for seven terms, but don't run for one more term,
