- 0:05Speaker 1: Oh my favorite song.
- 0:08Speaker 2: This is so nice.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I can't remember when I felt this young. WHOA, I
- 0:16Speaker 1: really can't see spot And if I have the next dance,
- 0:24Speaker 1: don't Nick god brother?
- 0:26Speaker 3: Aren't you new? Need for the bloom gasket? Jurney, He'll
- 0:30Speaker 3: have it back in one piece. Welcome to the latest
- 0:41Speaker 3: Guy on Springfield here on the fourth figure. To get
- 0:43Speaker 3: a network guy on springfood means that we go back
- 0:45Speaker 3: and revisit a classic episode once a month. And since
- 0:48Speaker 3: it's Valentine's Day as was approaching as we record this,
- 0:50Speaker 3: we threw out to the patients became free love based
- 0:53Speaker 3: options and they selected this one. It is Lady Bouvie's lover.
- 0:55Speaker 4: I'm Dando and I'm Guy. And because we are doing
- 0:58Speaker 4: a guy on Springfield, the following has happen.
- 1:05Speaker 3: That's quite enough of that.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Just as Homer got a special cake to Ruin, thank you, Marge,
- 1:12Speaker 4: Daniel has given me a special episode to Ruin. We
- 1:14Speaker 4: had a couple of options. We threw a couple of
- 1:16Speaker 4: a few options out.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Here on the Fast Laying with Jacques from season one
- 1:20Speaker 3: and I'm with Cupid with Mangula. There's seven days of
- 1:22Speaker 3: Valentine's with poor Mangula, which you guest starred out in John.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Another great episode from season ten. I want to say
- 1:27Speaker 3: one of the better post Golden era. I still say
- 1:30Speaker 3: Season ten's Golden era episodes of the Simpsons, but they
- 1:33Speaker 3: went with this one. He Lady b VI's Lover. Now,
- 1:35Speaker 3: I'm going to throw this out there. Lady by Vere's
- 1:37Speaker 3: Lover is an episode that I rarely watch as a kid.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I never really it just didn't appeal to me, and
- 1:42Speaker 3: I think people revisiting it now I understand why you're
- 1:46Speaker 3: an old person because I'm getting older. Yeah, and I'm
- 1:49Speaker 3: finding it more and more relatable. And what I love
- 1:52Speaker 3: about this one is it's a love story. Yes, but
- 1:55Speaker 3: it's not your typical love story, is it.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Well, no, it's not. It's more an infatuation story than
- 2:02Speaker 4: a romance story.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Yeah. Well he's infatuated with her. Yeah, she's not infatuated
- 2:06Speaker 3: with I think she likes.
- 2:07Speaker 4: The tends to's catching a few eyes.
- 2:10Speaker 3: She is indeed. Ye, Apparently when she was younger, she
- 2:12Speaker 3: all the guy. All the guys were ogling her, not
- 2:15Speaker 3: the friends. And that's one of my trivia questions. Those
- 2:17Speaker 3: three ladies did you see to pick up on the names.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I did not. I'm gonna get you with that trivia
- 2:21Speaker 3: question a little bit later on in the show. But
- 2:23Speaker 3: I've just got here. It's a really interesting love story
- 2:25Speaker 3: in that there's two people here, older people, elderly people
- 2:29Speaker 3: who probably thought that their chances of love had probably
- 2:32Speaker 3: passed them. They didn't expect to find this spark again.
- 2:35Speaker 3: They've just sort of sort of conceded this is life now,
- 2:39Speaker 3: probably going to be lonely forever. Let's just see out
- 2:42Speaker 3: our days. Marge Into intervenes. She says, you guys should
- 2:45Speaker 3: hang out. I don't think she really Her intention wasn't
- 2:48Speaker 3: for them to fall in love. Her intention was for
- 2:50Speaker 3: them to just start companions companionship. She wasn't sort of
- 2:54Speaker 3: put off by the fact that their own love, which
- 2:55Speaker 3: I thought was kind of odd. It's her mum and
- 2:59Speaker 3: Homer's dad. It's a little weird. I agree with him.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I have are going brother and sister that happened, So
- 3:06Speaker 3: I've always thought it was odd that marj wasn't bothered
- 3:08Speaker 3: by the fact that they're in love. But hey, as
- 3:10Speaker 3: she says, who are we to say they can't fall
- 3:12Speaker 3: in love? Well that's true.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Yes, Look I will throw in a bit of my
- 3:16Speaker 4: patented reality television commentary here, because when Lou and I
- 3:21Speaker 4: watching ninety Day Fiance, and that's many variations, one show
- 3:24Speaker 4: we were really big on was The Golden Bachelor and
- 3:26Speaker 4: Golden Bachelorette. I'm sure I've mentioned this in the past,
- 3:29Speaker 4: and I initially went and going, oh God, I'm going
- 3:31Speaker 4: to scoff at this NonStop. It's just going to be ridiculous,
- 3:34Speaker 4: and look at these silly old people trying to find
- 3:36Speaker 4: romance again. And you know, one out of three episodes,
- 3:40Speaker 4: I'm like, that's really nice because you've got a lot
- 3:44Speaker 4: of people who are in their sixties, seventies or whatever saying, yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 4: I was in love or I lost my partner or
- 3:51Speaker 4: life happened or whatever. I never thought it would happen
- 3:55Speaker 4: to me again. I wanted to happen to me again.
- 3:57Speaker 4: It was one of the best things about being alive.
- 4:00Speaker 4: It's not restricted to the younger folk. No, It's good
- 4:05Speaker 4: for anybody. And you know, I can give you a
- 4:07Speaker 4: real revitalization, which gives this episode a bit of an
- 4:12Speaker 4: emotional core beyond its many many good gags.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I know an elderly couple who clearly aren't happy, right
- 4:18Speaker 3: and it's not being low it No, it's not. And
- 4:22Speaker 3: we've spoken to the woman in the relationship and she
- 4:24Speaker 3: and she has said, I think she's maybe early seventies.
- 4:27Speaker 3: And she has said, I don't want to leave him
- 4:31Speaker 3: because I'm never going to find anybody else. I'd rather
- 4:33Speaker 3: have this than be lonely. And I thought that's really sad.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Well, the saddest thing is when you are lonely in
- 4:39Speaker 4: a bad relationship, there is it is preferable to be
- 4:42Speaker 4: alone than to be lonely in a relationship. Being lonely
- 4:46Speaker 4: in a relationship is way, way worse.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah, can imagine now, Jacqueline Bouvier, Right, I watched this
- 4:54Speaker 3: got me crazy. She's a heel. She absolutely digged over
- 4:59Speaker 3: ground bar here right. He takes it to the swing
- 5:02Speaker 3: dance Mister Burns just starts dance with it. She just
- 5:05Speaker 3: leaves him and leaves with Burns doesn't say goodbye to Grandpa,
- 5:09Speaker 3: just pretends he doesn't exist anymore. Absolutely, ill, turn, this could.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Be the way things went back in there in their
- 5:16Speaker 4: courting day. And that's just learned behavior.
- 5:19Speaker 3: In fact, she didn't even say goodbye, or he's just
- 5:22Speaker 3: out there by himself. She's just off in the car
- 5:23Speaker 3: with him.
- 5:24Speaker 4: My buddy, saydy, Steve has to saying, you gotta dance
- 5:26Speaker 4: with the one that brung you.
- 5:29Speaker 3: That's a good point.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Yeah, she's kind of he'll behavior it is bad behavior.
- 5:33Speaker 4: At the same time, Clock's a ticken.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I was gonna say, I also understand it because as
- 5:37Speaker 3: she puts it, what's the what she says, he's too
- 5:39Speaker 3: much of a fuss pot. Grandpa, Right when you Clocks ticken,
- 5:42Speaker 3: as your days are numbered, you don't want to be
- 5:43Speaker 3: hanging out with a fuss pot. You want to hang
- 5:45Speaker 3: out with someone who can provide money. She's maybe she's
- 5:48Speaker 3: also playing Maybe she's also playing the long game, going Okay,
- 5:50Speaker 3: if I marry Burns, I can get half his ship
- 5:53Speaker 3: and I can give it to March and Homer. Well,
- 5:55Speaker 3: Homer is very much on board that. I wonder see
- 5:58Speaker 3: they never played that up. I thought that would have
- 6:00Speaker 3: been an interesting plot line of when Marge's saying he's
- 6:04Speaker 3: a bad guy, blah blah blah. She can go, yes,
- 6:05Speaker 3: but imagine what you could do with the money if
- 6:07Speaker 3: I get some with the money. But then that would
- 6:08Speaker 3: really pay her negative life, because you should be doing
- 6:10Speaker 3: it for love, not for money.
- 6:11Speaker 4: True, and I think it would detract from I guess
- 6:13Speaker 4: the main engine of the story.
- 6:15Speaker 3: That she'd not say he can provide, though at one point.
- 6:18Speaker 4: It's something along those line, says something about him provider,
- 6:21Speaker 4: and you know, but Homer has that thing about something's
- 6:23Speaker 4: money's money, money, money's money, money, money, money, money.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Many money, money money money. Would you think of the
- 6:28Speaker 3: b plot with Bart and the animation style that was
- 6:30Speaker 3: just kind of there, It was there, it happened.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Probably one of the few times that I've sympathized with
- 6:36Speaker 4: comic book guy or been like on the same page
- 6:38Speaker 4: comic book so good.
- 6:38Speaker 3: One of my favorite moments was one of his quotes,
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah that's.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Can we just a repeater now? Because it's great. It's like,
- 6:44Speaker 4: this is the This probably would have been a trivia question,
- 6:47Speaker 4: maybe one of your trivia questions. It's as snagger. I've
- 6:50Speaker 4: forgotten who it was drawn by. Heisler, because that's right.
- 6:53Speaker 4: It was worth something something. This is a drum bay nobody.
- 6:57Speaker 4: It is worth nothing.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Something. Sorry.
- 7:02Speaker 4: I sort of steered into Gene Wilder as Willy Wonga.
- 7:04Speaker 4: There you get nothing but good day, good days talking
- 7:08Speaker 4: about Hilton's Oh the babyface keeps guessing.
- 7:15Speaker 3: The Blee plot is there.
- 7:16Speaker 4: It's fine co written by a man, Bill Oakley, I believe.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Josh and Bill. Yeah, yeah, good.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Sturdy storytelling in that there were a few sort of
- 7:25Speaker 4: plot things left dangling, plot threads left angling. Bar has
- 7:30Speaker 4: bought this animation self, what three hundred and fifty bucks? Yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 4: he's able to get that three hundred and fifty bucks
- 7:35Speaker 4: back of mister Burns. Everything works out, not that you're
- 7:39Speaker 4: a notorious nitpicky. You'd probably be going, what about the
- 7:43Speaker 4: thing I cost?
- 7:44Speaker 3: You know, and you'd be just angry for thee at
- 7:47Speaker 3: least at least they wrap up the story there. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 3: you get the feeling they're like good mechanics, Josh and Bill.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Why Buddy's Josh and Bill friends at the point. That's
- 7:56Speaker 4: why they went on to become showrunners.
- 7:57Speaker 3: That's correct.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Yeah, they're looking at everything going, look, we don't want
- 8:01Speaker 4: to send this out. We don't want to send us
- 8:03Speaker 4: out of the workshop with one of the wheels about
- 8:06Speaker 4: fall off or.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Just make sure everything's tightened up. And yeah, juster and
- 8:10Speaker 4: they did a good job.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Back when the writers ask questions, going, but what about that?
- 8:13Speaker 3: Shouldn't that have an ending. Now it's just goes well,
- 8:15Speaker 3: it's twenty one minute mark. Let's go. I'm gonna go
- 8:20Speaker 3: home and see my kids. Yeah, fam the bull chin.
- 8:27Speaker 4: We might have been talking about something off camera or someone, but.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Even that's that almost feels like the sins meant would
- 8:34Speaker 3: we be talking about going? Would we be talking you? Wow?
- 8:43Speaker 3: I went to show guy, a local comedian, how bad
- 8:46Speaker 3: the stand up was, and it must have been so
- 8:49Speaker 3: bad that they've removed it. These comedians removed it from
- 8:52Speaker 3: his page.
- 8:52Speaker 4: They're just getting toxic in the toxic shit in the commensation.
- 8:56Speaker 3: The old wife, you know, you're just just a mild
- 8:59Speaker 3: to me anyway. Pretty sure she's probably keeping the household
- 9:03Speaker 3: in check.
- 9:03Speaker 4: My friend, I imagine out on the road or you know,
- 9:08Speaker 4: in the jungle and asking him to get me out
- 9:09Speaker 4: of here.
- 9:10Speaker 3: You got to know who it is by now you're doing.
- 9:13Speaker 3: I want to say, though so written by Bill and Josh.
- 9:15Speaker 3: If you had have told me that Lady Bouvier's Lover
- 9:18Speaker 3: was written by Conan O'Brien, I probably would have believed you.
- 9:21Speaker 3: It feels wacky enough. It feels he likes If you
- 9:24Speaker 3: know Conan, you know he loves old timey stuff. Right,
- 9:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, time baseball baseball. Oh my god, one of
- 9:29Speaker 3: the funniest thing's ever done. Old time. So he loves something.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Maybe think this is something that ConA may have pitched
- 9:35Speaker 3: even I don't know, but season six he'd been gone
- 9:37Speaker 3: for two years. Maybe not, but this feels like something
- 9:39Speaker 3: that Conan would love to write.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Well, if we're going to be talking, we'll jump in
- 9:43Speaker 4: the favorite moments of the moment. But yeah, in a moment,
- 9:44Speaker 4: but certainly one of my Grandpa Simpson using his sort
- 9:50Speaker 4: of old timey stuff do either express Oh I'm in
- 9:53Speaker 4: love and I'm going to entertain you. Oh I'm sad
- 9:55Speaker 4: and I'm gonna wander And the bluid lawyer just coming out.
- 9:58Speaker 5: He represent the estate of Charles jab You're going to
- 10:01Speaker 5: start doing this immediately. The Henchman are the best, marvelous.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Loved it.
- 10:10Speaker 4: But yeah, I mean that feels very Cone as well.
- 10:12Speaker 4: And yeah, there's a lot of there's some weirdness in here.
- 10:16Speaker 4: I can't tell if the play it cool song is
- 10:18Speaker 4: like it feels like a Twin Peaks thing.
- 10:20Speaker 3: It does, doesn't it. Yeah, I've got a friend, one
- 10:22Speaker 3: of my close friends, James Crabtree, Coagy, but we're calling
- 10:26Speaker 3: Crab right, Uncle Crab, as the kids call him. One
- 10:28Speaker 3: of his favorite Simpsons songs is to play It Cool,
- 10:31Speaker 3: And I've always just gone, really, I watched it hit.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I'm just like, it's just it's weird to me. I
- 10:36Speaker 3: don't know, it's just it's something about it.
- 10:37Speaker 4: It's it's not necessarily funny, but it's but it's sort
- 10:41Speaker 4: of funny.
- 10:42Speaker 3: But I like. What I do like about it is
- 10:44Speaker 3: how it's this nice seeing Homer and Grandpa bonding over oh.
- 10:47Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's something that the show did really well
- 10:51Speaker 4: during its its best phases. I mean, they would have
- 10:55Speaker 4: Grandpa be God, he's annoying and obnoxious, but yeah, occasionally
- 11:00Speaker 4: episodes where they would go on the road or Grandpa
- 11:02Speaker 4: would be like a snake, or they'll say salesman or
- 11:05Speaker 4: something like that. I just found those really entertaining.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Grandpa versus sexual inadequacy when he's got the sex Tony.
- 11:11Speaker 4: All the stuff with the ton teen and the fighting
- 11:12Speaker 4: hellfish or whatever they're flying helfish, yeah, flying healthish.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. So in regards to this episode, I do
- 11:18Speaker 3: like that Homer and Grandpa he comes across as pathetics,
- 11:23Speaker 3: not the word sort of the friend zoned, but he
- 11:27Speaker 3: also isn't pathetic, where a lot of the time now
- 11:30Speaker 3: Grandpa is just the guy they closed the blind on,
- 11:32Speaker 3: or they don't want him around here, I don't think
- 11:34Speaker 3: to hear I remember. But he's also not a pushover either.
- 11:38Speaker 4: No, I mean, first of all, he's sort of like
- 11:40Speaker 4: a viable romantic partner or whatever. I liked mister Burns
- 11:45Speaker 4: in this episode. I liked that he sort of had
- 11:46Speaker 4: a bit of vim and vigor to him.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I mean, of course they had the bit niwcaps are
- 11:51Speaker 4: filling up with fluid and all that kind of stuff.
- 11:52Speaker 4: But at the same time, he's like, you probably were
- 11:55Speaker 4: a bit of a shark back in the day, you know,
- 11:57Speaker 4: and you go to the Huntry Dance or whatever, you
- 12:01Speaker 4: would probably be snaking in on some on some other dudes.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Girl. Oh, this is definitely it's right up, mister Burns's allie.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Some of my favorite bits, some of my green highlighted bits,
- 12:09Speaker 4: are just Burns.
- 12:10Speaker 3: That's get into favorite moments. Let's do it, because.
- 12:14Speaker 4: It's like, as I say, I don't make the whole
- 12:16Speaker 4: plane out of the black box. Well, this whole episode
- 12:19Speaker 4: is my favorite moment my favorite. I've already blame on
- 12:24Speaker 4: them when I said I made a special cake. Thea
- 12:26Speaker 4: to ruin very relatable.
- 12:28Speaker 3: It's not my Gaggy's birthday, but I just love it.
- 12:31Speaker 3: It's gonna let us all over, which is this garbage
- 12:33Speaker 3: case but burns well.
- 12:37Speaker 4: First of all, when he muscles in at the dance,
- 12:40Speaker 4: no need for the bloom gasket, Charlie yea lord.
- 12:43Speaker 3: And it just makes Graandpather looks like such a simp.
- 12:47Speaker 4: But then when when he's gone over to the Simpson
- 12:50Speaker 4: household and bar guns. And later Grandma really likes it
- 12:53Speaker 4: when when her boyfriend's give me money, beat it pee wee.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Baby gets nothing good. So I love that A love
- 13:02Speaker 4: first appearance of baby Gerald, Yeah, I think so.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah. I remember getting a huge what of heres in
- 13:07Speaker 3: this episode.
- 13:08Speaker 4: I remember getting a huge kick out of the first time.
- 13:09Speaker 4: It's all baby, just that I just want that it
- 13:12Speaker 4: scrunches the juke's box. That Maggie doesn't get along with
- 13:16Speaker 4: other babies.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Yeah, she's just got a little bit side.
- 13:21Speaker 4: I love the guy's voice. I can't remember his name
- 13:22Speaker 4: for the.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Life of me.
- 13:23Speaker 4: But everyone's getting in the bus. They need to get
- 13:27Speaker 4: hurry each mouth like a bls. That's just the old
- 13:33Speaker 4: Jewish guy I forgotten. But and speaking of my favorite voices,
- 13:37Speaker 4: I guess it's wise guy who's delivering the.
- 13:40Speaker 3: It's actually wise, but it's a wise guy voice.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Yeah, if you do not open the door, can I
- 13:45Speaker 4: give you your special delivery?
- 13:48Speaker 3: I'm easily please just put things in a funny voice.
- 13:51Speaker 3: And why south Park it's so successful? Oh god, we
- 13:56Speaker 3: can be as high as we like.
- 13:57Speaker 4: We can talk about your underlying themes and emotional and
- 14:00Speaker 4: all that bullshit, just saying say a funny line of
- 14:03Speaker 4: funny boys, I'm yours for life.
- 14:04Speaker 3: B I love that it's funny. They both just seem
- 14:08Speaker 3: so lonely. That is funny.
- 14:12Speaker 4: And by the way, speaking funny voices, this is a
- 14:14Speaker 4: line that I use all the time. And maybe this
- 14:16Speaker 4: was the first time was done. But I think when
- 14:19Speaker 4: they're pushing the cell on the animation cell on TV
- 14:23Speaker 4: something not a guarantee.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Roger My, as you, I guarantee this will only grow
- 14:27Speaker 3: up in value. Not a guarantee, fantast Did you used
- 14:31Speaker 3: to watch those infomercial shows late at night? I used
- 14:34Speaker 3: to sometimes watch it and going I could I have
- 14:37Speaker 3: vivid memories of it being I was a huge wrestling
- 14:39Speaker 3: fan growing up. Wwfs all about WWF ninety nine blah
- 14:42Speaker 3: blah blah, and so everyone's selling WWF merchandise and I
- 14:45Speaker 3: was like, where's mum's credit card? I want this Mike
- 14:49Speaker 3: Foley clock. But sometimes I watch it, going, I have
- 14:53Speaker 3: the money for this, but I like to live like Karrosen,
- 14:55Speaker 3: just wonder what would it be like to have that
- 14:56Speaker 3: clock on the wall. Did you ever watch the infomercial stuff? Oh, certainly. Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 4: At the same time, I think I realized this looks
- 15:03Speaker 4: kind of like crap, and.
- 15:05Speaker 3: It used to be on the morning shows going this
- 15:07Speaker 3: new vacuum can suck anything. Yeah, and anything.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I think I want to pierce the matrix and going,
- 15:14Speaker 4: you guys, it's always like looking at the music video
- 15:17Speaker 4: for Soundguard's Black Hole Sun. You know where the voices
- 15:20Speaker 4: just coming. Yeah, yes, terrifying. Yeah, the voices, just the
- 15:25Speaker 4: faces just expand, like turn into joker smiles or whatever.
- 15:27Speaker 4: That's always what those people look like to me, even
- 15:29Speaker 4: though they look like normal people, but they were just
- 15:31Speaker 4: so enthusiastic. Shamwell guy, shed shamwew or whatever. It's like,
- 15:37Speaker 4: I don't trust you not to be trusted.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Yes, indeed, not a guarantee. Now, Also, there's another line
- 15:43Speaker 3: that I use, I reckon every day of my life,
- 15:46Speaker 3: and I could not I had actually had no idea
- 15:49Speaker 3: it came from the Simpsons. I'm gonna say it came
- 15:50Speaker 3: from the Simpsons. Here at the end of the episode,
- 15:53Speaker 3: when she says I don't want to be of either,
- 15:54Speaker 3: and Grandpa says, hot diggity dam that's good enough for me.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Hot diggnity dam is something I say every day of
- 15:59Speaker 3: my life. I see something going, what diggity damn? It's
- 16:02Speaker 3: a fun thing to say, hot diggity damn. It certainly is. Yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 3: did the Simpsons pen that? Is that something that can
- 16:07Speaker 3: be find? Hot diggity am It feels like an old time.
- 16:11Speaker 4: It feels like something that I would have said it
- 16:13Speaker 4: is the.
- 16:14Speaker 3: First time I heard it would have definitely been from
- 16:16Speaker 3: the Simpsons. Hones said, the Simpsons created it, but I
- 16:18Speaker 3: got it from the Simpsons.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I mean, and that's what sets these kind
- 16:21Speaker 4: of episodes apart. I mean, they're lifting stuff from actual
- 16:25Speaker 4: real life, but a long time.
- 16:26Speaker 3: There's lots of homages to films and whatnot. There's a
- 16:29Speaker 3: lot of pop culture references the graduates, one of them.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Graduate is what we end up with absolutely on the bus.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Yeahs. That's what's great about is as a kid, we've
- 16:37Speaker 3: said his time and time again. You know it's something,
- 16:40Speaker 3: but you don't know what it is. Yeah, and it
- 16:42Speaker 3: makes you go out and research it. That's right.
- 16:44Speaker 4: And that's one of the great gifts that the Simpsons
- 16:47Speaker 4: gives you. The pop culture gives you, I mean knowing
- 16:49Speaker 4: what inspired it and what it inspires as well that
- 16:53Speaker 4: it's all part of a continuum.
- 16:54Speaker 3: I think I always say the biggest one for me.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I'm not saying it's the best parody the Simpsons ever done,
- 17:00Speaker 3: but one of the most iconic ones is Homer rolling
- 17:02Speaker 3: down the stairs ready is at the Lost Arc of
- 17:04Speaker 3: the ball. I just think that visual there all the
- 17:06Speaker 3: kids who might have sit Indiana Jones, you look at
- 17:09Speaker 3: this and you go that's something. Oh yeah, yeah, I mean.
- 17:14Speaker 4: I've said me, I'm pretty sure so many many times
- 17:17Speaker 4: on our podcast.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Now.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I was absolutely Star Wars freak when I was
- 17:21Speaker 4: a kid. Yeah, when the first Stars came out in
- 17:24Speaker 4: seventy seven, I want to know everything about not just
- 17:26Speaker 4: about you know, everything that was happening in Star Wars.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Butts, Yeah, how'd he come up with this? You know?
- 17:32Speaker 3: And that's when like that, how did he blop a
- 17:34Speaker 3: death Star? Well? No, not even that. It was like,
- 17:36Speaker 3: how did you come up?
- 17:38Speaker 4: Where's this story coming from? Did you just make this
- 17:39Speaker 4: up out of his head? And it's like, oh no,
- 17:41Speaker 4: I was really into a cure cool Star and Flash
- 17:42Speaker 4: Gordon and all that kind of stuff. Well, I didn't
- 17:44Speaker 4: even think about dudes. You learn about Flash Gordon, you
- 17:48Speaker 4: learn about a Curra Sco. He's the guy who made
- 17:50Speaker 4: Seven Samurai one of the best bucking movies ever made.
- 17:51Speaker 4: It's like, oh, everything's connected, and you know someone's gonna
- 17:55Speaker 4: be garbage, but someone's.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Going to be great.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Love it, And that's what the sentence did its best.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Yes, one hundred percent. Yeah. Now my final thing that
- 18:01Speaker 3: I like, so Smith is getting a little bit of
- 18:04Speaker 3: a heel because he's jealous. He loves mister Burns, right,
- 18:07Speaker 3: he has some great lines. So when mister Burns says,
- 18:10Speaker 3: who are these people? And Cory it's Fred Finnstone and
- 18:12Speaker 3: he's lovely wife Willman and he gives them the chocolates,
- 18:14Speaker 3: and I was, yeah, the.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Real lovely bitchy line read from Mary. I don't know,
- 18:22Speaker 4: sir having sex with that old woman.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Such a bitch. I thought that was great.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Yeah, look, more favorite moments are going to come up

- 19:16Speaker 3: What is it? I didn't write, I just wrote in
- 19:18Speaker 3: my notes. It's just bickering over how to solve the shakes.
- 19:20Speaker 3: What was medication?
- 19:21Speaker 4: The medication was Lister's carbolic ungeent Okay.
- 19:25Speaker 3: My first question for you is where does Jacqueline live?
- 19:29Speaker 4: Is she at the Hell Roach Apartments?
- 19:31Speaker 3: Yes?
- 19:31Speaker 4: Yes, because of retirement living in the cemetery discressed. Hal
- 19:36Speaker 4: Roach was apparently a producer of old timey movies. I
- 19:39Speaker 4: don't know if he did like might have did the
- 19:41Speaker 4: Three Stooges, or maybe like the Keystone Cops or.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Like really old Let's google it, shall we That's one
- 19:47Speaker 3: thing I forgot to go. Oh yeah, I keep forgetting.
- 19:48Speaker 4: We've got all the knowledge of the world and beyond
- 19:52Speaker 4: here we go.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Let's get on his wiki. He was an American film
- 19:57Speaker 3: and television producer, director of screener who was the founder
- 19:59Speaker 3: of the names cal Wrote Studios. Roach was active in
- 20:01Speaker 3: the industry from the tens to the nineties. He's now
- 20:03Speaker 3: for producing a number of early media franchise successes, including
- 20:06Speaker 3: Laurel and Hardy, Harold Lloyd's early films, the films I've Entertained,
- 20:10Speaker 3: a Charlie Chase, and Our Gang short film comedy series.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah Laurel, real old school stuff. Yeah, because
- 20:16Speaker 3: you've watched this guy, I'm like, how alchu is going
- 20:18Speaker 3: to be? Somebody look it up later? Did look it up?
- 20:20Speaker 3: Later look it up now though this is late we
- 20:24Speaker 3: got there in the end. I did look it up later.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Oh your next question, you you've got me thinking about
- 20:29Speaker 4: now an action movie franchise called John Wiki.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I'd watch.
- 20:33Speaker 4: It doesn't justsume people. He just looks up trivia. I
- 20:40Speaker 4: had how roach apartments as a as a trivia question. So, hey,
- 20:44Speaker 4: how many itching scratches cells are available? According to the commercial?
- 20:48Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I think that's one of my questions or
- 20:49Speaker 3: way that I was put in my notes. It's eight
- 20:50Speaker 3: hundred thousand, hundred thousand, yes, all right. My next question
- 20:54Speaker 3: for you is who were the friends? And he said
- 20:56Speaker 3: you didn't know this. I said, my friends were always
- 20:59Speaker 3: jealous of the gold looking at me?
- 21:00Speaker 4: Oh the ones who went crazy? Yeah, yeah, Zelda Fitzgerald, Yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 4: Sylvia Plath. And who's the middle one, little Sylvia Path, Yes,
- 21:07Speaker 4: little Silvia Plath. Francis Farmer.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay. Do you know so Zelda Fitzgerald author, socialized
- 21:13Speaker 3: wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, author of The Great Gaspee. Correct.
- 21:15Speaker 3: She suffered from schizophrenia and was sent to a sanatorium
- 21:18Speaker 3: for the rest of her life, and she passed away
- 21:20Speaker 3: when a sanatorium caught on fire Francis Farmer. She had
- 21:23Speaker 3: a tough beat for Zelda. Francis Farmer, actress in the
- 21:25Speaker 3: nineteen thirties to forty, suffered from schizophrenia and was also
- 21:28Speaker 3: sent to a sanatorium had a lobotomy.
- 21:31Speaker 4: Yes, there's a movie called Francis starring Jessica Lang about
- 21:34Speaker 4: it and.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I believe worth watching it? Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 4: But also Nirvana did a song with Francis Farmer, we
- 21:40Speaker 4: will have her Revenge on Seattle.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Yeah, there we go. Love that song.
- 21:43Speaker 4: What did we just talk about? Everything's connected?
- 21:45Speaker 3: Author and poet from nineteen fifty sixties. She wrote The
- 21:47Speaker 3: bel Jar suffered from clinical depression for her whole life,
- 21:51Speaker 3: committed suicide in her early thirties by carbon monoxi poisoning
- 21:54Speaker 3: by putting her head in the oven.
- 21:55Speaker 4: I'm going to look something up real quick, Yeah, because
- 21:58Speaker 4: I think you'll appreciate this. Silvere Plaths marriage to another writer.
- 22:02Speaker 4: His name was Ted Hughes. Ted Hughes wrote a book
- 22:05Speaker 4: called The Iron Man. The Iron Man was turned in
- 22:08Speaker 4: a movie called The Iron Giant.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Who was watching us to this show? He sure is?
- 22:13Speaker 3: I Actually he's looking skyward and saying Superman, now down.
- 22:16Speaker 3: I'm going to start crying. So I put the Iron
- 22:18Speaker 3: Giin off for the kids the other day, right, and
- 22:20Speaker 3: I put it on and they go, oh, we thought
- 22:22Speaker 3: it was real, not cartoon. I was like, you sit
- 22:24Speaker 3: there and fucking watch it, and and they elliot watched it. Holly,
- 22:27Speaker 3: she has bored. She can't say still for more than
- 22:29Speaker 3: an hour, but Allie wash the whole thing. And he cried, well,
- 22:31Speaker 3: be because of human being. And Ali goes, what happens
- 22:37Speaker 3: the number two? I'm like, there wasn't number two? And
- 22:38Speaker 3: he's like, what what do you mean? The cliff faker ending.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Use your imagination, kid, And also it gives you just nothing.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Bits of the iron Gina coming back together and they're
- 22:47Speaker 4: going to go back to see Hogarth.
- 22:49Speaker 3: You know what I said to him? I said, what
- 22:51Speaker 3: do you think happened there? You go, that's good parenting? Dano, Yes,
- 22:54Speaker 3: but isn't it? Isn't it fun?
- 22:55Speaker 4: We talked about so we played and get a false
- 22:57Speaker 4: of vagine.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Yeah, isn't that good? Always good to seek? I enjoined
- 23:00Speaker 3: into anything that's correct. That's what she said, all right,
- 23:06Speaker 3: next to your question for you.
- 23:07Speaker 4: From you, it's called the zinc midget. How many women
- 23:13Speaker 4: have said no to mister Burns.
- 23:15Speaker 3: One hundred and thirty, one hundred and thirty. She's the
- 23:17Speaker 3: first one to say no since he's become a billionaire. Correct, yes,
- 23:20Speaker 3: what wasn't he always rich? It doesn't matter.
- 23:23Speaker 4: I imagine he's one of these types like ro Deck, like
- 23:28Speaker 4: Elon Mask who said yeah, I'm a self made billionaire
- 23:33Speaker 4: a trillion where it's like, yeah, your parents are on
- 23:35Speaker 4: an Emerald mine.
- 23:36Speaker 3: You're doing all right? Yeah? Self made?
- 23:38Speaker 4: What?
- 23:39Speaker 3: And my final question for you was the how many
- 23:42Speaker 3: copies of the sale were there? I'm going to make
- 23:44Speaker 3: another one up. What was the name of the network
- 23:46Speaker 3: that trum mcclaw was selling the sales on.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Was it IBN?
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yes? What does it stand for? It was the Impulse
- 23:53Speaker 3: Buying Network. I was going to answer, Oh, sorry, well
- 23:56Speaker 3: you look it looks baffled default mode. Do we have
- 24:02Speaker 3: talking for one more question? Do it for you? Okay?
- 24:04Speaker 4: Then what what? There was a dance marathon on the
- 24:07Speaker 4: community center, but what was on the next day, Cat's
- 24:09Speaker 4: pathon cat'spathon?

- 25:51Speaker 3: May twelfth, nineteen ninety four, Written and directed by Bill
- 25:54Speaker 3: Oakle Josh Weinstein, directed by Wes Archer. Chipball Gag. I
- 25:57Speaker 3: will not retransmit without the express permission of Major League
- 26:00Speaker 3: Baseball and the Cash Gag. The Family runs to the couch,
- 26:02Speaker 3: but when they get there, they break and shadow like
- 26:04Speaker 3: glass and say, this little helper enters the room confused
- 26:07Speaker 3: as to where the family have gone. Reminds me of
- 26:09Speaker 3: those these dog prank videos with the blankets. Have you
- 26:11Speaker 3: seen those? Oh? Yeah, so good, so good. It's the
- 26:15Speaker 3: it's the first initial. It's like.
- 26:21Speaker 4: One expects it from monkeys, and we're gonna get some
- 26:23Speaker 4: primate We're gonna get some primate action.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Just a second.
- 26:27Speaker 4: I love the one there like some guy shows in
- 26:29Speaker 4: a rangon tan.
- 26:31Speaker 3: A car trick baffled, isn't it? Yeah?
- 26:33Speaker 4: And the car and the range jam is like it's
- 26:39Speaker 4: like me watching David Blaine. Yeah yeah, it literally looks
- 26:44Speaker 4: in him going what.
- 26:47Speaker 3: My god?
- 26:47Speaker 4: We really do share so much about DNA with our
- 26:49Speaker 4: lovely primate friends. Mel Yeah, I start, he got chimped.
- 26:54Speaker 3: It's across the across the clan show he's been told
- 26:56Speaker 3: he is to conduct the monkey Town Philharmonic, and then
- 26:58Speaker 3: it's get attacked. Now. What I loved about this se
- 27:00Speaker 3: here is we're gonna have full, real in depth I
- 27:03Speaker 3: think the most in depth look at the classic Simpsons
- 27:06Speaker 3: Rumpest room. Now this Rumpest Room very rarely appears. No
- 27:09Speaker 3: one really knows where it is in the house, but
- 27:12Speaker 3: it just appears every now and again. Right, it's from
- 27:14Speaker 3: the episode. I think the first time it appeared was
- 27:16Speaker 3: the episode three Men in comic Books. Iold's got three
- 27:19Speaker 3: and to come up with the one with the and
- 27:21Speaker 3: they're fighting in the treehouse at the end, right, Marge
- 27:24Speaker 3: says Homer, it's really coming down out there. Do you
- 27:26Speaker 3: want check on the boys? And we see the lightning
- 27:28Speaker 3: get any seem more strangling each other and home and
- 27:30Speaker 3: just goes they're fine. He's watching TV on a bean
- 27:32Speaker 3: bag in this rumper's room. They're watching TV in this
- 27:35Speaker 3: rumpers room. I thought, how random that it's not in
- 27:38Speaker 3: the land, where's in this rumpers room? And we see
- 27:40Speaker 3: here it's clearly to me the rubbers room feels like
- 27:42Speaker 3: it's the kid's toy room because they're sitting on bean bags.
- 27:45Speaker 3: You've got toys on the floor, you've got to crust
- 27:47Speaker 3: the clown post on the wall, you've got to dart
- 27:48Speaker 3: board in there. It's one of the great mysteries of
- 27:51Speaker 3: the Simpsons, the Simpsons rumpers room. But that's where they're
- 27:54Speaker 3: watching the show.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Okay, well, feature more rubbers room, lease the rumper's room cut.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yes, I want, I want the rubbers room. Place it
- 28:01Speaker 3: completely with bandb bags. But they're watching it, and Marge
- 28:04Speaker 3: says that Homie didn't do a very good job of
- 28:06Speaker 3: icing Maggie's cake like Gggy's birthday blah blah blah. He
- 28:09Speaker 3: starts eating the letters and it starts eating the more
- 28:11Speaker 3: she made him the other cake. Now, this cake is
- 28:13Speaker 3: very famous now in Simpson's meme groups because people now
- 28:16Speaker 3: go out of their way to make their loved ones
- 28:18Speaker 3: or their friends cakes just like this so they can
- 28:22Speaker 3: ruin it. Excellent. Yeah, that's thoughtful. I was at a
- 28:25Speaker 3: birthday party on Sunday from my grandma, the kid's great grandma.
- 28:28Speaker 3: She turned eighty four, I believe. And I'm watching it
- 28:31Speaker 3: and all the kids got the take turns of blonde,
- 28:33Speaker 3: the candles out. There's a few grandkids, and I'm watching
- 28:35Speaker 3: his going what a random ritual we have where we
- 28:37Speaker 3: like people spit on the cake before we eat it.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Oh god, Yeah, I wouldn't let someone touch my foot
- 28:41Speaker 3: before I want to use my food, but yet we
- 28:43Speaker 3: let people spit all over the like literally spit it
- 28:45Speaker 3: all over the cake and then we all eat it.
- 28:47Speaker 3: We're such, We're just a weird species.
- 28:50Speaker 4: You look at anything long and I was like, why
- 28:52Speaker 4: do we do it that way?
- 28:53Speaker 3: Why?
- 28:55Speaker 4: Why when Christmas time comes around we put a tree inside?
- 28:58Speaker 3: Why do you do it because they told us to?
- 29:02Speaker 4: Why eggs? Yeah, yeah, there's a reason. I'm sure it's
- 29:06Speaker 4: something to do.
- 29:07Speaker 3: With the There is a reason. But why that chocolate?
- 29:10Speaker 3: Because chocolate DELI. Well, I've already bought some chocolate. You
- 29:13Speaker 3: bought chocolate streggs that I have not for me. I
- 29:16Speaker 3: love you get them. These are something in the plastic
- 29:19Speaker 3: cartons now it's cardboard boxes, but they're the Cabri eggs
- 29:23Speaker 3: and small, not not small, but like average size. Look
- 29:25Speaker 3: look on normal sized egg. There there's enough chocolate in there,
- 29:29Speaker 3: but it's also thin enough that just melts in your mouth.
- 29:31Speaker 3: You're you're not biting it as sort of as you
- 29:32Speaker 3: put in your mouth and just dissolves in it. Delicious, delicious.
- 29:36Speaker 3: If we're talking easter treats, yeah, what's your Easter treat?
- 29:38Speaker 3: Your easter goat? Well, I'm a hot Cross bun guy.
- 29:40Speaker 3: But here's the thing. You do love your hot Cross buns,
- 29:42Speaker 3: don't you here's.
- 29:43Speaker 4: The thing though, as we've always said, I'm a slat vavariance.
- 29:47Speaker 4: You'll get like he's an apple and cinnamon one, or oh,
- 29:50Speaker 4: we're doing the Kara milk one.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I've just heard that they're.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Doing Charra milk hot Cross bun get.
- 29:53Speaker 3: The from Woolies. They're the only ones that do it.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Paleface guy. No, he's a cold, isn't he? That's cold?
- 29:59Speaker 3: He's I'll get you woollies.
- 30:05Speaker 4: They're also doing like a Cinnabon version. They're gonna be
- 30:08Speaker 4: out in March. And I'm like, I like all of these,
- 30:10Speaker 4: but at the same time, if I have a four
- 30:13Speaker 4: pack of various hot grop but I'm gonna eat all
- 30:15Speaker 4: of them. So what what my plan is. I will
- 30:17Speaker 4: get a bag of each, I will take one out
- 30:19Speaker 4: of each, put them in the fridge.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Or the freezer. I'll give it.
- 30:22Speaker 4: I'll give the rest of you in the in the kids.
- 30:24Speaker 4: But I will have one Sinnabon flavored, one caramel flavored,
- 30:27Speaker 4: one regular, and one chocolatey one. Is like, okay, that'll
- 30:32Speaker 4: be fine. I'll have like one a week leading up
- 30:34Speaker 4: to Easter. That'll be my thing. You should start I
- 30:37Speaker 4: should not do that.
- 30:38Speaker 3: You know, you should start like an Instagram account where
- 30:41Speaker 3: it's just you reviewing hot cross buns. Maybe start a
- 30:43Speaker 3: YouTube channel, Yeah, why not. What's the name for a
- 30:46Speaker 3: Hot Cross bun review channel. It's very very seasonal. You
- 30:51Speaker 3: can get meny viewers in August hot cross puns, suns out,
- 30:57Speaker 3: buns out, Suns out, buns out. Yeah, I'll watch that.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Welcome to the Bunk Club. Yeah, not bad. You're just
- 31:03Speaker 3: trying to rhyme wads of gun pretty much. This is
- 31:06Speaker 3: this is the this is the wellspring of creativity. But
- 31:09Speaker 3: we're here to review Lady v Love, of course, aren't we.
- 31:12Speaker 4: We took about her grosboons.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Hama's ruined the cake. He's got a cake to ruin.
- 31:18Speaker 3: And this is where Patty and Selma and Jacqueline arrive.
- 31:22Speaker 6: Whoa everyone except Homer.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Happy birthday, granddaughter, Marge.
- 31:28Speaker 6: I think that's your father in law across the street.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Happy birthday.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Very much showcase for Julie, in particularly the opening act
- 31:39Speaker 3: of this episode where she's doing all for livarians. Yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 3: because they all sound similar, but they also sound very
- 31:45Speaker 3: distinct in their own way as well.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean Jacqueline Bouvier and yeah, Mama Boovia
- 31:49Speaker 4: sounds very much like an old version of them.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, and Patty and Salma sound like a smoker's version
- 31:56Speaker 3: of Marge. Yes, yeah, Julie cabinet amazing, that voice was
- 32:02Speaker 3: this time was great. That's originally so. Then this is
- 32:06Speaker 3: where Grandpa arrives as well, but he goes to the
- 32:08Speaker 3: wrong houses across the street. He's very sweet in this episode. Grandpa.
- 32:10Speaker 3: He's never been or anything like that. He's just just
- 32:14Speaker 3: an old man, an old fuss spot. Yeah. So they
- 32:18Speaker 3: Marge brings in Maggie here wearing her first dress, being
- 32:20Speaker 3: all cute, and Patty and someone I want to hang
- 32:22Speaker 3: on a Christmas tree forever? What smells? Oh yeah, I'll
- 32:26Speaker 3: been there.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Back into the Have you ever had that happen where
- 32:29Speaker 4: you know you've dressed up well who among us? But
- 32:33Speaker 4: you know you dress up one of the kids like,
- 32:35Speaker 4: oh look at you're looking.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Oh you just shut yourself, don't you? Yeah, or they
- 32:39Speaker 3: get the poof face on you go, oh no, the poms,
- 32:42Speaker 3: the poof face, you poof faces.
- 32:43Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure I think it's kind of self explained.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Can you envision a poof face? Though? What do you
- 32:49Speaker 3: think your poof faces. Does do we as a doss
- 32:53Speaker 3: do we still have poof faces? Or is it just
- 32:55Speaker 3: I feel like now we'll say you because we have
- 32:57Speaker 3: to really concentrate to Pooh. Now it's just usually browsing
- 32:59Speaker 3: on our phones. It's just happening.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it looks like A'm moving to that room.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, or you're you know, you're out for a
- 33:05Speaker 4: walk or something.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I've had this happen with the Pooh waddle. Oh yeah,
- 33:09Speaker 3: And you're kind of like.
- 33:10Speaker 4: You've got to pause and make it look like, oh no,
- 33:13Speaker 4: I've just gotta gotta stretch out my calf. Yea up there,
- 33:18Speaker 4: get back up there, and then you're really yeah, but
- 33:22Speaker 4: you can't make it look like that's what's happening.
- 33:24Speaker 3: So it's like Harry Dog.
- 33:25Speaker 4: Ah, I've got a Charlie horse and the fire stretch
- 33:29Speaker 4: it out, look good?
- 33:32Speaker 3: Five minutes from home? Can I do it? But they
- 33:34Speaker 3: say where all the other babies here at this party?
- 33:35Speaker 3: There are no other babies because Maggi doesn't get along.
- 33:37Speaker 3: We see gerald fire believe the first time, as you said,
- 33:39Speaker 3: outside the window, and then they enter with the cake
- 33:43Speaker 3: with the candles and they're playing up here that kids
- 33:46Speaker 3: might be frightened by the fact that everyone's looking at them,
- 33:47Speaker 3: taking photos, and Maggie's just got the shakes happening. I
- 33:50Speaker 3: think kids love birthdays, man, I know she's only ones.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Maybe when they're one a bit different. By the time
- 33:54Speaker 3: they're two or three, they're all about it.
- 33:55Speaker 4: I imagine that's a lot of sensory input for a
- 33:58Speaker 4: for a small child though, just having a lot of
- 34:00Speaker 4: peoples of the zoom in on them, bright lights.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Et cetera. And a one year old's birthday party is
- 34:04Speaker 3: for the parents anyway, of course it is. It's not.
- 34:06Speaker 3: We've said his time and time again. Anyone who has
- 34:08Speaker 3: birthday parties for the one year old makes it a
- 34:09Speaker 3: big deals, like you're just doing it for yourself. What
- 34:10Speaker 3: about a two year old? Two year olds? They I
- 34:13Speaker 3: think two years at least they're having fun. One year
- 34:16Speaker 3: olds just sitting there going why is everything that they
- 34:18Speaker 3: have no idea what's happening? Two year old is aware
- 34:20Speaker 3: it's their birthday.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Okay, then they're a center of attention.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I was looking over the wall. I see baby
- 34:24Speaker 3: Gerald's got a card on the wall staring at you.
- 34:27Speaker 3: He's yeah at you. Yes, Someone on social media like
- 34:32Speaker 3: it just went crazy. That video it just like went viral.
- 34:35Speaker 4: But that was it just talking about there's one of
- 34:37Speaker 4: the it's one of like Hank's best line deliveries or
- 34:40Speaker 4: something like that.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Very sincere. The baby looked at you.
- 34:43Speaker 4: I was ahead of the curve. I like baby. I
- 34:45Speaker 4: like baby looked at.
- 34:46Speaker 3: You for It's cool. Yes you did. You've been saying
- 34:48Speaker 3: that's been one of your favorites forever, isn't it. Maybe
- 34:50Speaker 3: lucky baby looked.
- 34:51Speaker 2: At you.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Even better, even not even better, but pretty close. After that,
- 34:59Speaker 4: Sarah gave me the give me the chief, whatever.
- 35:02Speaker 3: The school, give me the school or whatever.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Yeah what She just picks up the phone right next
- 35:06Speaker 4: from Darz the number gives.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Them thank you, Sarah, and she smiles. What it's simp
- 35:12Speaker 3: I love that.
- 35:13Speaker 4: I love that may look at you. That's what it
- 35:16Speaker 4: took from that. But the teacher of the Prinson were
- 35:20Speaker 4: having sex in the closet. It's baby looked at you,
- 35:25Speaker 4: and the baby looked at me.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Baby looked at So that line there is that him confused.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Why Ralph would think that always confused that he believes
- 35:31Speaker 3: there actually was a baby there. I don't know what
- 35:34Speaker 3: it means. There were probably smarter people out there.
- 35:38Speaker 4: You know it actually means this, but I'm just like,
- 35:39Speaker 4: I just like the way it sounds.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. How many SAMs? And we said it
- 35:44Speaker 3: in this episode because it just fun. Maybe on this
- 35:47Speaker 3: podcast we say, like every single episode just about everything.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Whatever I said, one of your favorite members of the
- 35:51Speaker 3: show overall, that's always one of yours. That and Devil's
- 35:54Speaker 3: Advocate ding ding ding Sure not Simpson Safari, Oh no,
- 35:59Speaker 3: oh no not indeed no. So Maggie's getting all scared,
- 36:02Speaker 3: and then Grandpa and Jacqueline, are you ever how to
- 36:05Speaker 3: get rid of the shakes?
- 36:07Speaker 1: Put some listeners, cobola conguin, done a cotton put the
- 36:10Speaker 1: cotton in your ear, don't stuck them shakes? No, No,
- 36:13Speaker 1: what she needs is a bosom specific ball, some specific
- 36:18Speaker 1: while we're burning money, why don't we give her a
- 36:20Speaker 1: cheer rate of galvernic bell too.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Don't forget to give her Snackler's powder.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Don't make fun.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Then Maggie's asleep and they pan down in between the
- 36:31Speaker 3: roof and the floor. There was here recorder, someone's recording
- 36:33Speaker 3: the conversation. They used to always do that game. It's
- 36:35Speaker 3: a random throwaway gag. Yeah, but they don't do it anymore.
- 36:37Speaker 3: There's always there's always something in the roof or in
- 36:39Speaker 3: the in the walls there, and they're all sharing stories
- 36:42Speaker 3: and I've just gone here, this is what happens Christmas
- 36:44Speaker 3: Day or we always have we play cards on a
- 36:46Speaker 3: Christmas night. We can play cards with certain family members
- 36:49Speaker 3: and whatnot, and it always just ends up us just remember
- 36:52Speaker 3: when Nan did this, or just telling stories of I
- 36:55Speaker 3: remember when you were five and you were doing that,
- 36:56Speaker 3: And they're my favorite moments in life. I think when
- 36:59Speaker 3: the family get together and just share memories that you've
- 37:02Speaker 3: never heard before ever the once you have heard a
- 37:04Speaker 3: million times, but you just love hearing them tell it
- 37:06Speaker 3: because you may have heard it a million times, but
- 37:08Speaker 3: you will miss it when they're no longer with us
- 37:09Speaker 3: and they're not telling that story anymore. Absolutely. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:12Speaker 3: I'm actually thinking of it's just a podcaster and me,
- 37:15Speaker 3: but next Christmas leaving the mic song and just getting
- 37:19Speaker 3: family to just come in here and just tell stories
- 37:21Speaker 3: about their child. Just tell stories, because it's invaluable hearing
- 37:25Speaker 3: memories about your family, don't you think? Absolutely? Have you?
- 37:28Speaker 3: Have you asked Margaret Mary a better childhood and things certainly.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm not going to go into it
- 37:32Speaker 4: more than that, but yeah, no, I absolutely have.
- 37:35Speaker 3: She got arrested for indecent exposure. That's so they're telling
- 37:42Speaker 3: all the stories here to at least his third birthday
- 37:44Speaker 3: was really break it into the routine about armor hot dogs.
- 37:47Speaker 3: They go full on into it, singing a hot dog song,
- 37:49Speaker 3: any of the songs in this family knows besides advertisements
- 37:52Speaker 3: Chicken Tonight, I always.
- 37:53Speaker 4: Thought Chicken Tonight was just an Australian thing.
- 37:55Speaker 3: I was baffled when I remember when I first saw itself. Thought,
- 37:57Speaker 3: I honestly thought chicken tight was Australian as well, was
- 38:00Speaker 3: a sensation gangbuster of an air. Oh yeah, you still
- 38:04Speaker 3: get Chicken tonight, right, but I imagine you can. I
- 38:05Speaker 3: don't watch enough free to air TV to know whether
- 38:07Speaker 3: the ads are still running, but I don't think you
- 38:09Speaker 3: would never change it, but maybe know that it is
- 38:10Speaker 3: there at the point now where that marketing campaign was
- 38:12Speaker 3: so well or so good for so long, you don't
- 38:15Speaker 3: really need to market anymore. It's just we haven' we're
- 38:17Speaker 3: getting chicken tonight. It's just it's become part of it.
- 38:19Speaker 4: And then as the minute someone says that the song
- 38:22Speaker 4: into his head, does you feel like chicken tonight?
- 38:24Speaker 3: Like chicken to chicken tonight? It's good again, like chickens tonight,
- 38:28Speaker 3: It's so good. Then we're in bed. Helps it.
- 38:31Speaker 4: It's a quality product. Chicken ant was usually pretty good.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Yeah, just chop some chickens, garlic, some onions. Delicious, But
- 38:38Speaker 3: marg Is suggested that Grandpa and Jacqueline should hang out together,
- 38:41Speaker 3: and Homer says, no, no, people should be studied. Now
- 38:43Speaker 3: this is the second time we've had to mention of
- 38:45Speaker 3: Ross Perot recently. I don't know whether it's been on
- 38:47Speaker 3: both on forfing and discount reviews or whatever, But Ross Perot,
- 38:50Speaker 3: who was this guy?
- 38:51Speaker 4: I believe he was an eccentric Texan million slash billion.
- 38:56Speaker 3: It was speaking of the heel because I talking about
- 38:58Speaker 3: his eight hundred number when no in Mexican.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Oh okay, yeah, there we go. Unified theory comes through again.
- 39:04Speaker 4: But yeah, he ran for president. Oh was it in
- 39:07Speaker 4: the Clinton era when.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Must have been early nineties?
- 39:10Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah yeah, Bill. Bill makes an appearance in there.
- 39:14Speaker 4: I'm word, You're finally found love. He looked like he
- 39:17Speaker 4: was about, you know, five feet two, little scrappy, little guys.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right. I'm made my own money from. Yeah.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Is he the guy that touches his hat in the
- 39:27Speaker 3: King and Codos one? Maybe you know that it's a
- 39:32Speaker 3: two party system. You've gotta vot for one of us.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Why I vote for a third party candidate? And it's
- 39:35Speaker 3: like no, no, no, And he guess he punches his hat.
- 39:38Speaker 3: That him? Good. Well he's a little weedy guy. Look
- 39:40Speaker 3: it up.
- 39:41Speaker 4: It was a little guy, absolutely, but you know, full
- 39:43Speaker 4: of gumption.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Now I'm just saying the guy the Simpsons was want
- 39:45Speaker 3: to punch his hat ross prow Simpsons. Yeah him, Yeah,
- 39:49Speaker 3: so he punches his hat. Yeah, that's right, that's him.
- 39:52Speaker 3: So now they're on their way out for lunch, I'm assuming,
- 39:54Speaker 3: and we get the iconic can I come to moment? Yes,
- 39:58Speaker 3: you just feel so bad for lady.
- 40:00Speaker 4: By the way, we've already we've skipped them matlock bit,
- 40:02Speaker 4: but we already talked about that.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I guess, oh they've left. Oh yes, of course, yes,
- 40:06Speaker 3: they all leave. Actually, I want to point out because
- 40:08Speaker 3: Jacqueline in that moment says, I guess next on I'm
- 40:10Speaker 3: going to see it is probably Thanksgiving and homes like
- 40:12Speaker 3: maybe Christmas. So it's we only.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Family were quite understood the reading of feeling that Christmas.
- 40:19Speaker 4: I was like, maybe we can get away with just
- 40:21Speaker 4: seeing them the home you see you. Yes, yeah, we'll
- 40:23Speaker 4: skipped Thanksgiving. Yeah, it's sad in the sense that so
- 40:26Speaker 4: many families only see each other on the holidays.
- 40:29Speaker 3: We don't make the effort when we should. I live
- 40:31Speaker 3: ten minutes away from some family. I was in there
- 40:34Speaker 3: like once a month, if not like less than that.
- 40:36Speaker 3: You know, once it becomes why why did it? Why
- 40:39Speaker 3: you're sitting at home watching I'm sitting here watching Judge Judy.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I should be visiting family. But what am I doing here?
- 40:47Speaker 3: I'm having a good time about to say, yeah, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 3: we only visit family on holidays. And how often, humor me,
- 40:55Speaker 3: how often does your family members? Because mind all the time?
- 40:57Speaker 3: And I said all the time on Christmas Day or
- 40:59Speaker 3: whenever we need catcher going. We should do this more often.
- 41:03Speaker 4: No, my family does it all that much. My friend
- 41:04Speaker 4: my friends certainly do it. I mean I think we
- 41:06Speaker 4: like the thing we see each other relatively more often. Yeah, no,
- 41:10Speaker 4: we will, we will.
- 41:11Speaker 3: We never do well.
- 41:12Speaker 4: It happens with my friends. We're particularly my school friends
- 41:15Speaker 4: who I caught.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Up with if you do reply to the guy that
- 41:17Speaker 3: tries to start initiate the meeting, that's Will share out
- 41:19Speaker 3: to Will.
- 41:22Speaker 4: But yeah, we had a really nice get together just
- 41:25Speaker 4: before Christmas and we were all and we always say it, yeah,
- 41:28Speaker 4: oh shit, we should do this again. And I've got
- 41:30Speaker 4: it with JP not long ago. I'll say, I'm going
- 41:33Speaker 4: to try and organize something for February. We're in February now,
- 41:35Speaker 4: I've not done shit. There's a lot going on in February,
- 41:39Speaker 4: so it probably won't be until March. We'll see what happens.
- 41:41Speaker 4: But yeah, of course it happens August comes around. It's

- 42:20Speaker 3: Why don't you go in and pick up my mother
- 42:21Speaker 3: and we'll all go out to dinner.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I'll be back in a jiffy. That's not my mother,
- 42:31Speaker 1: I'll be back in a jiffy.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Can I come to? So the Can I come to? Lady?
- 42:41Speaker 3: I was just feel so sorry for it's there? Which is?
- 42:44Speaker 3: Can I come to? They both look away and the
- 42:46Speaker 3: windows goes up. If I'm in that situation, what do
- 42:51Speaker 3: you do? You just pretend you don't hear it? Do
- 42:53Speaker 3: you do? You say sorry? No? What do you do?
- 42:56Speaker 3: You say sorry now as gently as possible? Did she
- 43:02Speaker 3: get back inside? Had to get back inside? Grab it
- 43:03Speaker 3: as left it down on the curve. Oh nos? But
- 43:05Speaker 3: so they go to p Pickley, hog Swine, super Smog
- 43:08Speaker 3: and Marge says, you know, you guys have a lot
- 43:10Speaker 3: more a lot in common. And I said, you've both
- 43:13Speaker 3: got a swindled by the tail market, a scam, grab
- 43:16Speaker 3: a scam. It's yeah, you can give a cuick information.
- 43:18Speaker 3: And then she says, I was just happy to talk
- 43:19Speaker 3: to somebody on the phone.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Are you afraid of getting scammed?
- 43:23Speaker 3: I've been scammed. I did oh, yeah, the famous Lego scam.
- 43:28Speaker 3: So I'm very weary now. I do like the fact
- 43:31Speaker 3: that when you get a phone call now it says
- 43:32Speaker 3: suspected spam, and I'm like, thank you for telling me
- 43:34Speaker 3: in advance.
- 43:36Speaker 4: May I be a dreadful person for a second? And
- 43:38Speaker 4: what's that? I imagine you are weary, but you also
- 43:42Speaker 4: might be wary.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Oh, weary, yeah, weary, weary. What's weary? Weary is when
- 43:46Speaker 3: you're tired, and you tire weary eyes. Where is when
- 43:48Speaker 3: you're suspicious? Yes, weary, very wary, yes, and you're also
- 43:52Speaker 3: kind of weary. I'm very weary of solo for and
- 43:56Speaker 3: me chiming and correcting you. Okay, no, no, please correct
- 43:59Speaker 3: I'll make sure it's one thing Mitch corrected me once
- 44:01Speaker 3: in the podcast, and I've never forgotten it, and I'm
- 44:04Speaker 3: always making sure I made the effort to do it
- 44:06Speaker 3: right because I used to always always say hence why
- 44:10Speaker 3: it's not hence why it's the why is implied with
- 44:13Speaker 3: the hens. So now when I go I'm saying hence
- 44:16Speaker 3: why something, I leave it at the white So I
- 44:18Speaker 3: always remember when Mitch was just like, well you stop
- 44:19Speaker 3: saying hence why, and I go, I didn't realize this.
- 44:22Speaker 3: I will meet the effort now. But I learned things
- 44:25Speaker 3: and I remember, so now going forward, I'll make sure
- 44:27Speaker 3: I say wherey okay. I appreciate it. I like it
- 44:30Speaker 3: for the lesson.
- 44:31Speaker 4: I like to think I was a little more diplomatic
- 44:33Speaker 4: in my correction than.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Mitch's, like, you're a dickhead.
- 44:36Speaker 4: But then you know, people might be tuning in for
- 44:39Speaker 4: that spice. Yeah they might have liked that back in. Yeah, hey,
- 44:44Speaker 4: tune into going down to South Park. We talked about
- 44:46Speaker 4: fat butt and pancakead. There's a lot of Heliver Lopez.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Jennifer Ope's episode so good. Oh that's right.
- 44:52Speaker 4: Oh sorry, my Lopez impression escaped containment. We're only going
- 44:57Speaker 4: to do it on that episode. But you know, becoming attraction,
- 45:00Speaker 4: this is my racism has broken contentment.
- 45:02Speaker 3: You have to record a primo for going down a
- 45:04Speaker 3: south pick as her, that's right.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Do you want to do going down to a South Park?
- 45:11Speaker 3: Who the fox said that? Cool? It was? It suck
- 45:15Speaker 3: my cooler, cool old chica.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Oh my god, don't please do not snip that and
- 45:21Speaker 4: put it in anywhere else.
- 45:23Speaker 3: And that's what she said. Grabo tries to cheer up
- 45:26Speaker 3: Jacqueline here with potatoes, which is a parody of Charlie Chaplain.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Is indeed now sorry, Win, did this episode air again?
- 45:33Speaker 4: I will find that for you right now. It was
- 45:35Speaker 4: ninety four, Okay. Around this time that little routine came
- 45:40Speaker 4: back into vogue because there was a movie called Benny
- 45:42Speaker 4: in June starring Johnny Depp. This is when Johnny was
- 45:45Speaker 4: kind of like, I know, I look like the most
- 45:48Speaker 4: handsome person to ever live, but I'm also, you know,
- 45:51Speaker 4: a bit wacky and artistic and all this kind of stuff.
- 45:53Speaker 4: And in this movie Benny and Journey was playing this
- 45:55Speaker 4: sort of eccentric fellow, but he did the whole put
- 45:57Speaker 4: some forks into some bread rolls and do a little
- 45:59Speaker 4: dance route with it, and it was kind of like, oh, Johnny,
- 46:02Speaker 4: it's so charming. She'll never gonna get ship faced and
- 46:06Speaker 4: lose all your money and be possibly abusive to your
- 46:08Speaker 4: spouse in a mutual relationship.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Allegedly, we shouldn't laugh, you know, love here cry Yeah,
- 46:19Speaker 3: I know, right yeah. So bluehead Lawyer of course interrupts
- 46:21Speaker 3: as you're saying early and says he's on barf the
- 46:23Speaker 3: chap on the state love Blue head lawyer doesn't get
- 46:27Speaker 3: used anywhere near enough anymore in the teen era of
- 46:29Speaker 3: the show. Such a professional one and a shark, Yeah, ruthless.
- 46:34Speaker 3: But then she's showing Grandpa old photos when she got
- 46:36Speaker 3: arrestled in disint exposure. Mentions the friends and he says,
- 46:39Speaker 3: you remind me of a poem that I can't remember.
- 46:41Speaker 3: It was something that may never have existed in a
- 46:43Speaker 3: place I'm not sure i've ever been to. So sweet.
- 46:45Speaker 4: That's a really it's a very funny line, and it's
- 46:48Speaker 4: a really sweet line.
- 46:50Speaker 3: You remind me of something I'm not sure what, but
- 46:52Speaker 3: I like what it is.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Props to Josh and Bill. I think that's a really
- 46:55Speaker 4: well written dual purpose line.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Yeah, he feels really funny. Realize what a mite. It's love. No,
- 47:01Speaker 3: it's a stroke, stroke use of the ambulance. No, wait,
- 47:03Speaker 3: it's love. That is sent amount to the highway. That
- 47:06Speaker 3: is a conan O'Brien, yag I've ever seen send him
- 47:09Speaker 3: mount into the highway. So we come back and Bart
- 47:11Speaker 3: is watching the McClure show on Impulse by a network,
- 47:14Speaker 3: and then what.
- 47:15Speaker 4: Were what do you what might you remember that?
- 47:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:19Speaker 4: This is these are the most true truemanclue titles as
- 47:23Speaker 4: far as I mean, certainly the boat Jacking of super
- 47:25Speaker 4: Ship seventy nine, Love that and Hydro the Man with
- 47:29Speaker 4: the hydraulic Arms. I'm pretty sure I would have watched
- 47:33Speaker 4: the Boat Jacking of super Ship seventy nine.
- 47:36Speaker 3: It sounds like a great nineteen seventy eight thriller. Oh yeah,
- 47:39Speaker 3: but not TV made for TV.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm sure we talked about there's an actor
- 47:44Speaker 4: named Doug McClure who was yeah, yeah, who was very
- 47:48Speaker 4: sort of big in seventies B movies and things like that.
- 47:51Speaker 4: I'm guessing that's who they lifted the name from. Partially
- 47:55Speaker 4: is in tribute or partially his piss takes?
- 47:57Speaker 3: Yeah, anyway, we could google it. Let's not.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Let's let's keep talking about Lady Movie is Love.
- 48:02Speaker 3: This is Roger Meyers Junior is just flogging the animation
- 48:06Speaker 3: cells and it makes it look like you're going to
- 48:08Speaker 3: get the entire animation cell. But no, but this is
- 48:09Speaker 3: how they look. It's usually a background with this one
- 48:13Speaker 3: little part of the cell in there.
- 48:14Speaker 4: Yeah, you were talking about infomercials before. I remember one
- 48:18Speaker 4: that they used to have a lot was I'm so
- 48:20Speaker 4: and so from Silver Care Galleries or whatever.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Do you remember that guy, the old guy. I've spoken
- 48:25Speaker 3: him numerous times. Why am I not surprised he goes
- 48:28Speaker 3: to conventions and he's got like a whole lot. You know.
- 48:31Speaker 3: You go to a record staunch, just boxes of records,
- 48:32Speaker 3: but he's just boxes of animation cells.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Yeah, that may be on the one that I was
- 48:36Speaker 4: kind of thinking that wouldn't look bad on the wall.
- 48:38Speaker 4: That's kind of interesting, like an I would sketch of
- 48:42Speaker 4: like Steamboat Willie or some shit like that.
- 48:44Speaker 3: I'm walking around the Simpsons studios on our honeymoon and
- 48:46Speaker 3: She'll showing me some of the original animation sales from
- 48:48Speaker 3: the Golden Ear shout out to NICKI and I'm looking,
- 48:51Speaker 3: I'm going, how can I get this out of the door?
- 48:56Speaker 3: I remember there was one that had Hugo and Bart
- 48:59Speaker 3: from the thing and I and I'm going, I must
- 49:01Speaker 3: have this. And I'm saying to her, can you buy these?
- 49:04Speaker 3: She goes, oh, no, you shouldn't even be touching them.
- 49:06Speaker 3: I was like, I was touching them. Look at it?
- 49:11Speaker 3: Why who are you? Why are you good time? Zoning? Great?
- 49:16Speaker 3: Was that was an experience getting to sit down with
- 49:19Speaker 3: Rob Oliver, director of the Simpsons and the guy who
- 49:21Speaker 3: designed all the cover up for the Simpsons DVDs, and
- 49:24Speaker 3: he showed me how to draw Margin. That video is
- 49:25Speaker 3: available on YouTube.
- 49:27Speaker 4: I recall, yeah, but Bo means go and check it out.
- 49:29Speaker 3: Everybody, great man. Indeed. So basically this is where Bart
- 49:32Speaker 3: takes the wallet and home, it takes the slingshot and
- 49:36Speaker 3: he orders over the phone. So he's got the Federal
- 49:38Speaker 3: Bikini Inspector was the other license to ogle. See how
- 49:41Speaker 3: many just great little throwaway bits in it. So it's
- 49:43Speaker 3: a coding episode, mate, it's March versus the money out.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Shit just keeps happening.
- 49:47Speaker 4: I mean, even the whole yeah, Bart pinching the wallet thing,
- 49:52Speaker 4: I mean it's played for a little bit.
- 49:53Speaker 3: It's not but it's like as as him going and
- 49:56Speaker 3: taken it out of a draw or something.
- 49:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it's cute, it's funny.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Yeah, good episode. Yes, Homer is opposed to the whole
- 50:05Speaker 3: thing of them being together. He doesn't like it at
- 50:07Speaker 3: all because we brother and sister, and he envisions, envisions
- 50:09Speaker 3: our kids will be freaks as humans. Yep. Now, Margin
- 50:14Speaker 3: calls Jacqueline on the phone, calls hi, mum. She says,
- 50:17Speaker 3: to grab I don't come across too strong, and my
- 50:18Speaker 3: mom doesn't like that. He just hijacks the phone call
- 50:21Speaker 3: I love it, love it, love it coome my mom.
- 50:22Speaker 3: March takes over. Then we get the delivery, and we
- 50:26Speaker 3: could do it for Homer Simpson. First one is stop writing.
- 50:33Speaker 3: The next one is stop stealing golf balls from the
- 50:35Speaker 3: driving range. Third one is the wise Guy. Yes, as
- 50:38Speaker 3: you're saying, it's not the wise Guy, the wise Guy,
- 50:40Speaker 3: but just can I'll give you a special delivery? Yes,
- 50:46Speaker 3: very much, come to klingsy Pool. Oh yeah, no days.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Then he takes it out and it's very crappy Coustrian
- 50:53Speaker 3: and fifty dollars, and we have Nelson getting an out
- 50:55Speaker 3: of body experience. Even like so when Nelson goes ha
- 50:59Speaker 3: ha teen era of Simpsons, that would just be it's
- 51:02Speaker 3: just there for the same he's just riding past on
- 51:04Speaker 3: his bike. Yes, but at least now they're at least
- 51:06Speaker 3: they're giving some reason. How would Nelson be doing. He's
- 51:08Speaker 3: having out of body experience. It's ridiculous, it's unrealistic, but
- 51:12Speaker 3: at least it's given us a reason.
- 51:13Speaker 4: Well you initially, oh okay, it's just imagine. Yeah, yeah,
- 51:17Speaker 4: it's like no, let's.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Let's throw a little something more. Let's throw some more
- 51:20Speaker 3: crowd on it. Yeah, that's squeeze as many jokes as
- 51:23Speaker 3: they possibly can. Then Grandpa is getting ready for his days.
- 51:26Speaker 3: He's gonna switch it like a mulet and an apple.
- 51:27Speaker 3: It's like Jesus, she's bought novelty benches that say kiss
- 51:32Speaker 3: me sweety or something on them. When the lights go
- 51:34Speaker 3: down and we get the iconic play it cool song
- 51:37Speaker 3: and the song itself, I could take it to leave it,
- 51:38Speaker 3: but it's like the fact seeing Homer and Bond. Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 4: Then the little finger guns at each other at the end.
- 51:46Speaker 3: And he doesn't play it cool. Since she arrives, he
- 51:47Speaker 3: screams and hides behind the cap. Yeah. Then they are
- 51:50Speaker 3: the community Center. It's the swing dance. Meanwhile, the swing
- 51:54Speaker 3: dance we got bart taking the cells?
- 51:57Speaker 2: Is this cell worth anything?
- 52:00Speaker 6: Let me show you something. This This is a snagger
- 52:03Speaker 6: puss John Bay Hick Hastelou. It is worth something. This
- 52:06Speaker 6: this is an arm John by nobody. It is worth nothing.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Can't you give me anything for it?
- 52:12Speaker 6: I can give you this telephone. It is shipped like
- 52:14Speaker 6: Mary worth Nook ruining in my store.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Who's Meryworth. That's a really good question. I do not know.
- 52:21Speaker 3: I'm gonna look it up. I'm gonna say she.
- 52:23Speaker 4: Was like an advice columnist, but one who who advised
- 52:27Speaker 4: would always be listen to your parents or you know.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Maryworth is an American newspaper comic strip, Oh not a
- 52:34Speaker 3: real person. I was Way wrong had an eight decade
- 52:39Speaker 3: run from nineteen thirty eight distri distributed by King Feature Syndicate.
- 52:42Speaker 3: This soap opera style strip influenced several that followed. It
- 52:45Speaker 3: was created by writer Alan Solders and artist Dale Connor.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Initially appeared under the pseudonym Dale Allen.
- 52:51Speaker 4: What is Mary Worth's kind of key characteristics? Is she
- 52:54Speaker 4: a busybody? Let's find out.
- 52:56Speaker 3: So typically a story would revolve around the troubles of
- 52:58Speaker 3: someone who was somehow in my orbit. Mary herself might
- 53:01Speaker 3: not appear in the strip for weeks at a time,
- 53:03Speaker 3: although she would eventually be around to give time of
- 53:04Speaker 3: the advice and support. So she's kind of like what
- 53:08Speaker 3: you said she would have been she was a real person. Yeah,
- 53:11Speaker 3: she's not a real person. She's the She's Danny from
- 53:16Speaker 3: Full House. He goes everyone's having trouble and he's like
- 53:19Speaker 3: sit down, kids, you're gonna learn something today. Mary's there
- 53:22Speaker 3: to solve problems. Which was Danny? Was that Dave Coolier? No, No,
- 53:26Speaker 3: Danny's the dad.
- 53:27Speaker 4: Danny's Bob Saget, like like Rob Bob Sage.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Yeah, the filthiest man in the world.
- 53:31Speaker 4: That's right, He's the one who didn't get pleasured in
- 53:36Speaker 4: the theater by let.
- 53:37Speaker 3: That's still one of the most baffling things of all time. Right,
- 53:40Speaker 3: it's good for Dave. What the movie was? Someone surely
- 53:45Speaker 3: has asked that question, right, what were you What were
- 53:48Speaker 3: you not watching in this what were you not watching?
- 53:52Speaker 4: So?
- 53:52Speaker 3: Yes, so Mary Worth comedic strip and maybe there's a
- 53:54Speaker 3: telephone because you know, if you have problems, you call
- 53:56Speaker 3: married for help. Good idea, who knows? So then they're
- 53:59Speaker 3: dancing to moonlight serenade. That is a nice sea plant here,
- 54:02Speaker 3: because she mentions to Grandpa, my favorite song. This is
- 54:05Speaker 3: so lovely because we get it at the end of
- 54:06Speaker 3: the episode as well. He can't remember the last time
- 54:09Speaker 3: he felt this young. He goes for a kiss, but
- 54:11Speaker 3: mister Burns interrupts and cue the He'll turn from all involved,
- 54:14Speaker 3: He'll turn from Burns. Well, he's always a hell he'll
- 54:17Speaker 3: turn from Jacquelinde because she I mean, she goes off
- 54:19Speaker 3: the dance, but she doesn't come back. That's true.
- 54:21Speaker 4: Well, you know he's clearly a better dancing dresses better still,
- 54:26Speaker 4: And it's not that confidence he doesn't know he's got that.
- 54:29Speaker 3: I believe the kids call it the riz. Yeah, that
- 54:32Speaker 3: is the thing. Yes, that term will be out of
- 54:37Speaker 3: date by the time this episode goes to give give
- 54:40Speaker 3: him the fanning of a lifetime. Waits outside while she
- 54:42Speaker 3: leaves and you know you are the devil himself who
- 54:45Speaker 3: told you? Oh being nice? And then she leaves in
- 54:49Speaker 3: the car. Smith's is pissed off by this. He's not
- 54:50Speaker 3: a fan at all. But he says good night missus
- 54:52Speaker 3: Bouvier wherever you.
- 54:53Speaker 4: Are, Yes, a line from Jimmy Duranty. And yeah, the
- 54:57Speaker 4: bluehead lawyer earning his money in this episode because he's
- 54:59Speaker 4: also representing the state of one Jimmy Derandy in what film?
- 55:02Speaker 4: Oh that's a good question.
- 55:04Speaker 3: Which film does you say that in?
- 55:05Speaker 4: I thought it was just his catchphrase was good good
- 55:07Speaker 4: night missus so and so.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Wherever you are. The catchphrases okay, okay, good night missus Calabash,
- 55:13Speaker 3: wherever you are wherever you are. It just seems like
- 55:16Speaker 3: something from a sad movie, like a movie scene. Yeah okay, So.
- 55:19Speaker 4: Who was Jimmy Dearandy was basically sort of a stand
- 55:21Speaker 4: up comedian.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Meaning yeah, okay, but he says, stop the imitation. It
- 55:25Speaker 3: would be okay. I lay down the street and died. Yeah, sure,
- 55:27Speaker 3: that'd be okay. We come back and Burns its telling Smithers,
- 55:30Speaker 3: you wouldn't believe what happened last night. I don't know
- 55:32Speaker 3: what did you say? I don't know.
- 55:33Speaker 4: Sorry, it had sex with that old woman.
- 55:35Speaker 3: No, she said no to me, the first one's ever
- 55:37Speaker 3: said no to me. And it's just he's in love.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Whoop do you do to the world? Such a low
- 55:43Speaker 3: key moment. Everyone who's found love can go home early.
- 55:45Speaker 3: Just one guy, just Cory, poor dude. Then he asked
- 55:51Speaker 3: Smithers to hop and write a love letter. He writes
- 55:53Speaker 3: this really good letter and it ends up with and
- 55:57Speaker 3: then how did you come up with that? I gave
- 55:59Speaker 3: it to you on your birthday? And he runs off
- 56:00Speaker 3: crying himself. Marge's feeling bad for Grandpa. I can't believe
- 56:03Speaker 3: she's not going to hanging out anymore. But this new
- 56:05Speaker 3: guy she says, is I am a repulsive there's a
- 56:09Speaker 3: repulsive old billionaire, so let's all be extra nice to him.
- 56:11Speaker 3: So it's grandpa that tells him, because these grandpas, says
- 56:13Speaker 3: a repulsivele Burns, it's all be extra nice to him.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Turns out it's Burns and we have the Fred Flinn statement,
- 56:18Speaker 3: which I just think was hilarious as well. So there's
- 56:20Speaker 3: just trying to do fun things up when he can.
- 56:22Speaker 3: Marge is furious and home. It's just all about the money,
- 56:25Speaker 3: Isn't he very much if you were dating somebody. So
- 56:28Speaker 3: if if someone in your family will stay, someone who
- 56:30Speaker 3: had a lot of money, would you be more inclined
- 56:32Speaker 3: to go. I hope this works out.
- 56:35Speaker 4: Be honest with yourself, then that will be certainly part
- 56:40Speaker 4: of me that goes, yeah, it works out for yeah,
- 56:43Speaker 4: and for me.
- 56:44Speaker 3: I hope there's some money. I hope there's a downstream effect. Yes,
- 56:48Speaker 3: a flall on. But allmres about is the money here.
- 56:52Speaker 3: And it's where Bart tells mister Burns, you know, grandma
- 56:54Speaker 3: really likes it when their boyfriends give me give money.
- 56:56Speaker 3: What did you say? Run along? Peewee?
- 56:58Speaker 4: Baby gets nothing, baby, he gets nothing, So good burns
- 57:03Speaker 4: and but know each other. Well, we've had the episode
- 57:06Speaker 4: where it burns air and things like that. So are
- 57:09Speaker 4: we supposed to believe that they don't know each other here?
- 57:11Speaker 4: Or is this just two manipulative people taking advantage of
- 57:15Speaker 4: a situation. I think it's just too manipulative people. Yes,
- 57:17Speaker 4: And also I think episodes just reset at the end
- 57:19Speaker 4: of every episode.
- 57:20Speaker 3: I will throw this out there. He shoots him with
- 57:22Speaker 3: the mustard, right, but there's no stain. Later on, you
- 57:26Speaker 3: ain't getting mustard out. Oh god, that ship is staining. Yeah,
- 57:30Speaker 3: you're really on a nappy saying that shit you do. Indeed,
- 57:32Speaker 3: nappy sad that goes to cover to people's doors. Who
- 57:34Speaker 3: are the ads from nappy sand and be like, what
- 57:38Speaker 3: off my doorstairs? Why why are you here?
- 57:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 57:40Speaker 3: Just assuming I don't know how to wash my clothes.
- 57:42Speaker 4: I think said that nappy sand is a very useful item,
- 57:45Speaker 4: particularly if you're a sloppy eater, like, well, everyone's got
- 57:48Speaker 4: their own there. There's traditional name brand nappy sand, but
- 57:52Speaker 4: you know, yeah, house brand wily sand, wuly sand, which
- 57:58Speaker 4: judges the job just as well.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Grandpa is sad though, oh why she have to leave me? Babe?
- 58:08Speaker 3: Who was the need of some cheering up. We got
- 58:10Speaker 3: to a special gink oh as I like to think
- 58:19Speaker 3: there's an old broad in there just a year off.
- 58:21Speaker 3: Ready get grave.
- 58:22Speaker 4: By the time of his life, I'm probably big on
- 58:25Speaker 4: the burlesque scene.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Was like, yeah, sure had time to shine. Yeah, and
- 58:29Speaker 3: then Burns and Jacqueline at Luigi's when Luigi's was still
- 58:32Speaker 3: considered a fancy restaurant in Springfield. Because now it's the
- 58:36Speaker 3: the everyday place and we've got the gilded truffles. That's places.
- 58:39Speaker 3: But yeah, the cheap hoochs for the mister not tip
- 58:41Speaker 3: and then dried up zombie that he's captured, very Luis
- 58:44Speaker 3: brut Yeah, but then comes clean to Homer. He saidn't
- 58:46Speaker 3: worry though, I've got the cash. As he said, I
- 58:48Speaker 3: like that they wrapped up that story. At least they
- 58:50Speaker 3: tied it all up. And he gives him the cash.
- 58:53Speaker 3: Now you've bus seventy transcripts of Nightline, Nightline, that's right.
- 58:57Speaker 3: So yeah, but that dad, and he's like, oh, well,
- 58:59Speaker 3: he's happy. He's going to keep the phone to remind
- 59:03Speaker 3: him member to do something stupid like that again. Neil says,
- 59:05Speaker 3: come to the banded hospital check at the extra machine
- 59:07Speaker 3: and he's off. Yes, then they're off on a date,
- 59:09Speaker 3: Jacqueline and mister Burns and he wants to give her
- 59:13Speaker 3: a ring in her wine, but she accidentally spoils it.
- 59:14Speaker 3: So he's going to back up one in a pot
- 59:17Speaker 3: of something, maybe fondue, fondue, a broth, something whatever, And yes.
- 59:20Speaker 3: In the Mario cuts to margeaying, I can't believe you're
- 59:23Speaker 3: going to marry him. That's ridiculous. Why would you do that?
- 59:25Speaker 4: Now?
- 59:25Speaker 3: She says he can provide and that's one of the
- 59:28Speaker 3: reasons he can provide for me. He's got money and
- 59:30Speaker 3: he's a great kisser as well. And she says, do
- 59:32Speaker 3: you have any feelings for Age? Now? He's too much
- 59:34Speaker 3: of a fuss pot. So is Jacqueline a heel? Has
- 59:38Speaker 3: she done the dirty year?
- 59:39Speaker 4: I think she's just got her eyes on the prize
- 59:41Speaker 4: and good honor.
- 59:42Speaker 3: Yeah, taking advantage of the situation.
- 59:44Speaker 4: I mean well, I mean, had it been set up
- 59:47Speaker 4: that you know there was going to be this great
- 59:49Speaker 4: romance between Abe and Jacqueline.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Well what happens if Shanning Tatum rocks up and he's
- 59:54Speaker 3: just becomes infatuated with Louise and she leaves with him,
- 59:57Speaker 3: she a bad guy, or she just taken advantage of
- 59:59Speaker 3: the situation.
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: Lou and I have just been together for six years.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: There's a difference. These guys have been like one day.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll give you that. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: The one of these things is not like the other.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: And also bitch and also you know magic Mark versus
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: podcasting guy Davis.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: I don't know. I think it's no context. Think of

- 1:00:58Speaker 3: to marry because grandpasch to mention my fun but as
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: she compares a data reference now, but she says he's
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: he's like I compared to Burns, he's Judge freaking Reinhold,
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: And she says, I don't know who that is, and
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: I'm like, that's every person under the age of twenty five.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: It kind of is. Yeah, I mean, it wasn't even
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: like a data reference in ninety four.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: It doesn't really make any sense because I mean, Judge,
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: it's not like his Tom.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: I thought he played the douchebag in a lot of films.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: Right, hold, So hey, what's he compared to some and
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: so compared to Grandpa or Grandpa? Is Judge freaking Ryinhold
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: compared to Burns?
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Is that right? Yeah? Yeah, I mean it's yeah. I
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: don't get what she was going for there either, nor.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: Do I n anyway, moving along, it's not like Tom
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: Hanks or something like that.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Where it's like or what she's trying to say, he's
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: exciting exciting? Is I don't know? That's not important enough?
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Not really, though. I feel bad for Judge.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: I mean, isn't that a period there was like, wow,
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: he's in Gremon. Oh, everyone loved Eddie Murphy and Beverly
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: Hills Cop.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: But he came out and going, yeah, it was really
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Funnyron was in the Santa Claus.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: He was in the Santa Claus. He was on arrest
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: of development as Judge run Yeah, yes, he should have
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: his own TV show, Judge Reynhold should. The cases are real.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: But Grandpa has more time to read things on that
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: he finds on the ground now because he's not with Jacqueline.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: He finds a latex condome that'd be a nice place
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: to live. Wood looks in the window and sees Jacqueline
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: trying on her dress at Venus Bridal salon not affiliated
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: with the planet, and he's really sad. Now it's time
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: for the wedding and Homeertels Barnie, you need to fill
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: out the groom cycle is only Is it a Nazi
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: on that side? Looks like it.
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Yeah, either a Nazi or like a German soldier from
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: World War One?
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Yeah someone, yeah, someone, not a nice person, but it
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: looks looks for it. And then Smithers and Marge walking.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: They're walking down the aisle. They're not walking in the
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: other walking together? Aren't they the bottom party? They're not happy.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: They're clearly both bothered, and Burns says, just get to
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: the bloody point. Let's not go to all this, and
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: March keeps nudging her, saying look, look, look, and Jacqueline
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: realized in this moment that he's not a nice guy,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: but drops the ring, kicks Bart when he's down, and
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: she's just like, look, I know I get this. Then
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: she hears favorite song being played and burn says, I
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: specifically quested no romantic music, and we get the missus boobya,
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: which is.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: It's from the Graduate Yes, sorry, Dustin Hoffmann, yes, where
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: he interrupts, Yeah, dust Hofmann interrupts a wedding and runs
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: off with the bride and yeah, we'll keep going for
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: but we'll talk about.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: More about it. So it s fash as the window.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Boys Booby y honey, how you star?
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: You want to be Missus Montgomery Burns, wouldn't you rather
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: be Missus Abraham Jay Simpson?
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: No, I don't want to be either.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Digny damn.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: That's good enough for me.
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: That's what happens at the end of the Graduate as well.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: They've made this great romantic gesture. He's broken up this
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: marriage to someone who thinks is not right for they're
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: on the bus, they're going away to the future together,
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: and all of a sudden they realize, oh, wait a minute,
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: we don't know each other at all. We don't know
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: what we're doing here. We might have fucked this all. Yeah,
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: and you get a bit of Simon and Garfunk are
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: playing here. You have a nice version of this called
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: the sound of Grandpa listing all his faults. But a
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: good ending.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: I think, Yeah, just a great episode. I'm gonna throw
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: this out there. I think an underrated episode. I don't
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: think this one gets talked about anywhere near enough. But
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: this is a very much a Conan O'Brien s beat
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: for beat, gag gag gag. And he said, nothing feels
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: wasted in this at all, does it?
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: But it doesn't feel overstuffed. It's not like, uh, you're
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: you know, to quote one of my favorite lines from
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: the TV show Community, Yeah, but you're coming up with
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: gags with the speed and determination of the inevitable Robin Williams.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: This doesn't feel like that was like.
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: I'm gonna make you lab, you're gonna lab me.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: That kind of thing.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: It's more like, nah, we just got this is a
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: situation that lends itself to this, this, this, and this.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Don't look away because it's gonna be gag. You're going
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: to miss something, Yeah, but.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: We're not going to beat you over the head with it.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: It's like, if you get it, you get it. Yes,
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: and we got to heal whole heap. This is a
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: good episode and I'm glad we did it for Valentine's Day.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Thank you patrons for selecting this one for this month's
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Guy on Spirit for a classic review. I've posted and
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: there Askedhi for a couple of questions. I hope we'd
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: answer a couple of questions from the patrons as well. I'd
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: prefer not to Mike Salta. Do you find it a
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: shame that they never really fleshed out Marge's parents as
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: characters in the Golden era? Well, the father had passed away.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: I don't think there's really much to do with them,
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: to be completely honest, And I think it adds to
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: the mistake of the March character as well. That's a
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: good point.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: And Patty and Selma of course have their role in
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: the in the overall scheme of things, of just being
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: antagonistic towards Homer. Yeah, I can't really chow's a lack
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: of imagination on my part. I can't really sort of
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: pictureup what Jacqueline would do. By the way, fun fact
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: you probably already know this everybody, but Jacqueline Boubier the
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: maiden name of Jackie Kennedy. There we go, Yeah we know,
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: and now you know the rest of the story.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: David Mott, what's your partner's favorite song? It's a really
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: good question. You don't know. Nicholas got two normal Nikola standard.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Nicola is Superstition by Stevie Wonder her party. Her party
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: song is take your Shirt Off by Tea Pain. Oh
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: my goodness, you.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Know I married the right girl, and he favorite song
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: is take your shirt Off. When it comes to favorite songs,
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: I mean the lovely Lou, I don't know. She's just
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: got a whole heap of playlists that is.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: A superstitious or superstition. By the way, superstition is That's
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: what I thought you got, the species very superstitious, doesn't
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: he The superstition is the song I always get confused
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: with that one. Superstition is Nichola's favorite song.
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: But I also know better than to sort of talk
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: music with Lou because I tried getting into a conversation
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: about it with her and a Rellis on Isaac A.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: Little while ago.
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: She sort of looked at me like, honey, you're good
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: at a lot of stuff, but you're out of your
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: element here because I think I was named chicken some this. Yeah,
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: they're not bad, don't do it.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Stop stop stop. But I have learned.
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: I've picked up a lot of great music from Luke
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: because she's got fantastic taste.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: But what is her favorite song? Though I couldn't tell you.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: You don't know no nor for six years, you've just
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: told us this, Yeah, pull the curtain backer here at
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: the Dano household, so in take your shirt off. The
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: chorus goes, just take your shirt off. Obviously sitting there,
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: Nicola walking, I'll go I actually say anything. She's just like,
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: not happened. Rachel McLean, Do you think they could ever
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: have kept Grandpa and mister VI together going forward? No? No, no,
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: it's too weird of a it's too weird to have
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Homer re Marge's parents as a couple. Come my opinion here,
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: Ryan King, Final one in relation to Grandpa's dance with
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: the Foks. Do you guys have a favorite Charlie Chaplin movie?
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: Mine is city Lights?
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: City Lights is one of the best modern times.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: Is also pretty I'm not gonna lie. I don't really
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: know much about Charlie Chaplin films. I never really watched them.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: Yeah, he's more of an iconic figure than he than
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: his movies. Yeah, I don't think they've really washed a
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: whole lot these days, and you're sort of looking at
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: it more for historical value than anything else. Although Chaplain
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: he did pretty much everything. He did all the shit
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: beyond the camera and was quite the good on screen
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: presence as well. City Lights is really good, really sort
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: of touching and sentimental modern times of everything the Great
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: Dictator's got, the Great Dictator gets. Certainly the closing speech
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: gets drawn brought out a lot, particularly when Trump gets
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: into offers, because it's a big speech about you know,
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: we need to be more human the machine, like we
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: need to show compassion rather than hatred, all this kind
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: of stuff.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: It's a very good speech.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: You can find it on YouTube, relevant just about any era.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Unfortunately. Yes, all right, Well, thank you guys for listening
