- 0:24Speaker 1: five eighty Live, and your host.
- 0:27Speaker 2: What we've got here is fail milcase, kind of a
- 0:33Speaker 2: big deal.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick
- 0:37Speaker 3: out at a ball out of love.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Dave Allen, I got no microphones there. They are good
- 0:52Speaker 2: Friday morning, and welcome to the show. Bigley Pigley Wiggly

- 0:58Speaker 2: eight Tony but Taylor text three zero four nine three
- 1:00Speaker 2: five five zeros he rate. The interesting thing about that
- 1:02Speaker 2: is we were just having a conversation Chris Lawrence and
- 1:05Speaker 2: I before we went on the air. We were just
- 1:07Speaker 2: having this conversation about how those of us that wear
- 1:10Speaker 2: headphones are and have done it for some time like
- 1:13Speaker 2: we have, are mostly death. And then off the microphone
- 1:18Speaker 2: and there's nothing there. My god, it just happened. We're
- 1:21Speaker 2: all we're all deef as my southern West Virginia. It's
- 1:24Speaker 2: like Jerry Clower said, the first time he ever ate
- 1:26Speaker 2: a banana hit, he was on a train and went
- 1:28Speaker 2: through a tunnel and said, don't take a bite. I
- 1:30Speaker 2: took one and it went stone blind. So anyway, we're here.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Good Friday morning to you. We've made it to the weekend.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Coming up tonight is opening night for the Selango law
- 1:41Speaker 2: Light The Night to Go Mark Ballpark. Andy Shay Jill
- 1:44Speaker 2: Garon from The Dirty Berth will join us as well
- 1:46Speaker 2: as Ben Selango and talking about Christmas, our friends downstairs
- 1:49Speaker 2: of V one hundred have officially flipped the switch to
- 1:51Speaker 2: Christmas music. I was down there when it happened. I
- 1:54Speaker 2: saw it all happen, and so we're going to talk
- 1:56Speaker 2: to Logan Scott for me one hundred about that's a
- 2:00Speaker 2: bit later. I'll put your calls and text big Ley
- 2:02Speaker 2: Pigley Wiggly hotline three zero four three four five fifty

- 2:09Speaker 2: I didn't already mention Angel Gilliwater from the Canaal Charleston
- 2:12Speaker 2: Humaine Association is here with this week to do me
- 2:14Speaker 2: please pet of the Week Chris Lawrence and Tom Bragger
- 2:17Speaker 2: here to talk a little high school football. Chris, good morning, morning,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and welcome to the show. Hey do man, I'm doing well,
- 2:23Speaker 2: are you? Are you about half in a tree stand
- 2:25Speaker 2: somewhere right now?
- 2:26Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:27Speaker 2: Well, I'll be there next week, all right, But I
- 2:29Speaker 2: mean your mind is there right?
- 2:31Speaker 5: No?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Okay, Now my mind is on how I'm going to
- 2:33Speaker 2: get from here to Jefferson with the limited amount of
- 2:37Speaker 2: time I've got to get there, and it's going to
- 2:39Speaker 2: be raining, it's going to be right, So that's that's
- 2:41Speaker 2: my concern. And then to get back here tomorrow to
- 2:43Speaker 2: do Westreet outdoors. Yeah, so anybody can do it. You can't, well,
- 2:48Speaker 2: we'll find a way.
- 2:48Speaker 5: For all right.
- 2:49Speaker 2: So we got you, guys, got Jefferson and gw tonight.
- 2:53Speaker 2: How long a trip up is that I've been there,
- 2:54Speaker 2: But how long a trip is? According to Google Maps
- 2:56Speaker 2: it's four and a half hours. I think it's more
- 2:59Speaker 2: like five and a half in factor in the rain,
- 3:01Speaker 2: and with the rain, it'll probably be a little more
- 3:03Speaker 2: than that. So Aaron and I are going to try
- 3:05Speaker 2: to leave around twelve thirty, hopefully to get there by
- 3:08Speaker 2: six thirty for kickoff. So talk about this matchup, Well,
- 3:11Speaker 2: it is a rematch of the game they played on
- 3:14Speaker 2: October eleventh when the weather was fantastic. Yeah, that was
- 3:17Speaker 2: a Saturday afternoon game which I called that one as well.
- 3:20Speaker 2: We had it on WCHS and that was a back
- 3:24Speaker 2: and forth battle that GW got down a couple of scores,
- 3:28Speaker 2: came back and went all the way down and scored
- 3:30Speaker 2: with only like a couple of seconds left. They were
- 3:35Speaker 2: lining up to go for the extra point send it
- 3:38Speaker 2: into overtime, but Jefferson committed two penalties, and after those
- 3:43Speaker 2: two penalties and two half the distance to the goals,
- 3:47Speaker 2: the GW coaching staff managed to tuck Steve Edwards Junior
- 3:50Speaker 2: into going for two and he I don't think he
- 3:54Speaker 2: really wanted to do it, but he did agree, and
- 3:56Speaker 2: they went for two and they didn't get it, and
- 3:58Speaker 2: it was a one point loss. Were the Patriots, and
- 4:01Speaker 2: arguably it was where Jefferson's season jump started because they
- 4:04Speaker 2: haven't lost, they haven't lost since, they've won every game
- 4:07Speaker 2: since they've got They beat g W, and they beat
- 4:10Speaker 2: they beat some pretty stiff competition over in neighboring Virginia
- 4:13Speaker 2: as well, but they had a pretty front loaded schedule
- 4:15Speaker 2: to begin with with Martinsburg and a couple of teams
- 4:18Speaker 2: from Virginia that are perennial powerhouses there, so it was
- 4:21Speaker 2: a rough start for them. But they are definitely cooking now.
- 4:25Speaker 2: So it'll be interesting to see if GW can go
- 4:27Speaker 2: over there and return the favor in their house like
- 4:29Speaker 2: they did here on the Hill. All right, it should
- 4:31Speaker 2: be a great one. What times coverage, We'll begin at
- 4:33Speaker 2: six point thirty, possibly a little later if we get
- 4:36Speaker 2: there late, but kickoff is at seven o'clock and we'll we'll, we'll,
- 4:40Speaker 2: we'll definitely be there by that. And what we're hoping
- 4:42Speaker 2: in all these games is is that we're hoping for
- 4:44Speaker 2: rain and not lightning. You know, we play in the rain.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Lightning it's a different story. Yeah, hopefully we're to the
- 4:49Speaker 2: point in the year that it's there will be no lightning.
- 4:52Speaker 2: But two weeks ago that wasn't the case. In the
- 4:54Speaker 2: case at all. What you get on the West Virginia
- 4:56Speaker 2: Outdoors tomorrow, well, it is the last Saturday before buck season,
- 4:59Speaker 2: and always bring in the Natural Resources Police and we
- 5:02Speaker 2: talk a little bit about game laws and what they
- 5:05Speaker 2: will be doing during the buck season when things open
- 5:08Speaker 2: up on Monday, So we'll talk about that, and also
- 5:10Speaker 2: an update on the state of Ohio has now officially
- 5:13Speaker 2: lowered the buck limit in those three counties along the
- 5:17Speaker 2: Ohio River that were hit hard by EHD earlier in
- 5:21Speaker 2: the year, and they've lowered that bag limit from three
- 5:24Speaker 2: to one. And we'll talk to an Ohio conservation officer
- 5:27Speaker 2: about the decision there and what that means for those
- 5:30Speaker 2: hunters across the river in those counties of Ohio. All right, Chris,
- 5:35Speaker 2: be safe and have a good time next week. We'll
- 5:37Speaker 2: talk to you next I guess a week from Monday. Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 2: you'll be back with it exactly. Thanks well after tomorrow morning,
- 5:44Speaker 2: Chris Lawrence. Thanks a lot, man, friendship. We do want
- 5:46Speaker 2: to remind you we're in the Jerret Construction studios, right
- 5:48Speaker 2: on time, right on budget. Visit Jarret Dasconstruction dot com.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Phone calls to show with service of Big Lee Piggly
- 5:53Speaker 2: Wiggly on Spring Street Taxi services courtesy Tony the Tailor
- 5:56Speaker 2: Virginia Street in Charleston. Tony closed for Thanksgiving Day. Of course,
- 5:59Speaker 2: in the following day, Black Friday. He is open though
- 6:02Speaker 2: next Saturday for small Business Saturday, and don't forget December fourth,
- 6:05Speaker 2: the Holbiday Trunks shows are going on. Checkout Bestmaster Taylor
- 6:08Speaker 2: dot com for Tony's Facebook page for more information. Tom
- 6:11Speaker 2: Bragg is here and you are you got tomorrow afternoon?
- 6:14Speaker 6: Right?
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, Matt and I making the trip. Four o'clock
- 6:17Speaker 2: tomorrow is kickoff between Herbert Hoover and Princeton down at
- 6:20Speaker 2: Honeycutt Stadium in Princeton. Interesting game Princeton's lost since the
- 6:25Speaker 2: start of the twenty twenty four seasons. So last year.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Princeton's lost one game to Herbert Hoover last year in
- 6:30Speaker 2: the Class Trip A semi finals at the same venue
- 6:32Speaker 2: down in Princeton. A little bit different look from Herbert
- 6:35Speaker 2: Hoover this year, but that's for the most part, the
- 6:38Speaker 2: same Princeton team that they went on that run last year.
- 6:40Speaker 2: They're really really good. They got a player named Brad Mosser.
- 6:43Speaker 2: He's listed as a wide receiver. He does a little
- 6:45Speaker 2: bit of everything. He's scored seventeen rushing touchdowns, He's caught
- 6:49Speaker 2: I think eight or nine receiving touchdowns. He's thrown a
- 6:52Speaker 2: few passes. One of those guys is going to be
- 6:54Speaker 2: in the conversation for the Kennedy Award as the State
- 6:56Speaker 2: Player of the year. He's the big gun for this
- 6:57Speaker 2: Princeton team. But they've got guys all that you got
- 7:00Speaker 2: to keep an eye on. Herbert Hoover's coming in playing
- 7:02Speaker 2: some good ball. But the two games they've lost this season,
- 7:05Speaker 2: dave have been games where they lost the match up
- 7:07Speaker 2: up front in the trenches. So I think that's if
- 7:10Speaker 2: you're looking for a place to split hairs, a place
- 7:12Speaker 2: where this game could hinge on. Look up, look up front,
- 7:15Speaker 2: because if Hoover's getting beat up front, it could be
- 7:16Speaker 2: a long day for the Huskies. Now if they can
- 7:18Speaker 2: hold their own up there, look out. Coming into this
- 7:20Speaker 2: game last year, it was a similar conversation, Well can
- 7:23Speaker 2: Hoover handle the pressure from Princeton. They did. They ran
- 7:25Speaker 2: for almost three hundred yards last year. Interesting matchup, Like
- 7:28Speaker 2: I said, a little bit different Herbert Hoover team Princeton
- 7:31Speaker 2: wants a little bit of revenge. But man, this time
- 7:33Speaker 2: of year, these games are fun. There's a little bit
- 7:35Speaker 2: of history behind it. I'm looking forward to.
- 7:36Speaker 1: You know.
- 7:36Speaker 2: One of the things that's interesting to me about Princeton,
- 7:38Speaker 2: And I'm kind of a uniform geek. Is that anytime
- 7:42Speaker 2: you see a team with the Tigers in the title,
- 7:44Speaker 2: generally speaking college football, even baseball, whatever, there's a little
- 7:46Speaker 2: bit of orange or something there. But they go with
- 7:48Speaker 2: the blue Tigers.
- 7:49Speaker 7: They do.
- 7:49Speaker 2: They go with the blue Tigers look. Sometimes they'll have
- 7:51Speaker 2: a little accent in orange. I don't not so much
- 7:53Speaker 2: on the football uniforms. You see the baseball basketball uniforms,
- 7:56Speaker 2: but I like they go with the Cincinnati Bengals Tiger
- 7:59Speaker 2: Tigers stripe helmet in blue and white and black. It's
- 8:02Speaker 2: a cool look. It's a very cool look. Now you
- 8:04Speaker 2: guys a run the air. What time tomorrow? Four o'clock
- 8:06Speaker 2: tomorrow is when kickoff is? And I believe we're doing
- 8:08Speaker 2: that on ninety six to one and WHS. So we'll
- 8:12Speaker 2: be right at four o'clock bringing in from honeycut Staium.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Should be a fun one, all right. So what's State
- 8:16Speaker 2: doing this weekend? West Virginia State. State's off. They're done.
- 8:18Speaker 2: They're done the regular season finish. They did not make
- 8:21Speaker 2: the playoffs. It was a great season for State. Came
- 8:25Speaker 2: up just a little bit short in the last couple
- 8:26Speaker 2: of weeks. But I think if you told the folks
- 8:28Speaker 2: down and institute, hey, you're going to go into the
- 8:30Speaker 2: final two games with everything in front of you. Win
- 8:32Speaker 2: those and you win the league. I think that's a
- 8:35Speaker 2: pretty good year for West Virginia State. They seem to
- 8:37Speaker 2: be building in the right direction. There's a lot of
- 8:39Speaker 2: momentum with that program. John Pennington's got a good thing
- 8:42Speaker 2: going down there. That's another program I'm excited to see
- 8:44Speaker 2: grow over the next few years. Okay, now, we will
- 8:47Speaker 2: not be doing a local show on next Friday and
- 8:50Speaker 2: Black Friday. The network show will be here, but not
- 8:52Speaker 2: the local show. So if when Hoover wins short tonight,
- 8:55Speaker 2: you will get next week off. I'm just letting you know. Okay,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I appreciate it. They're playing for a champion and ship.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Then I'll see you into all right. Yeah, that's what
- 9:01Speaker 2: we'll just plan on that. We'll see you here in
- 9:03Speaker 2: two weeks. All right, it sounds good, Tom Bragg. Appreciate it, man,
- 9:05Speaker 2: And don't forget after the game stick around for Fred
- 9:07Speaker 2: Persinger and Dave Jack lind and the crew with high
- 9:10Speaker 2: school game nights right after the game on Metro News.
- 9:14Speaker 2: So Dave Island show in five eighty Live is Bronsho
- 9:16Speaker 2: parked by Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Let us transition as we do every Friday or at
- 9:24Speaker 2: this time to talk to our good friend Angie Gillenwater
- 9:26Speaker 2: from the Canaw Charleston Humaine Association with this week's Adopt
- 9:29Speaker 2: Me Please Pet of the Week and g good morning
- 9:31Speaker 2: to welcome to the show.
- 9:32Speaker 8: Good morning.
- 9:33Speaker 2: What are you doing running around Pittsburgh?
- 9:37Speaker 8: How was actually at a show in Pittsburgh? And I
- 9:40Speaker 8: just loved Pittsburgh.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Oh okay, okay, I didn't well, I didn't know because
- 9:43Speaker 2: last night you knew, you always send me the picture
- 9:46Speaker 2: of our pet, our adopt Me pleach by of the week,
- 9:48Speaker 2: and it's you know, and I didn't get it after
- 9:50Speaker 2: Pappall goes to bed, you know, like at nine or
- 9:52Speaker 2: nine thirty last night, So I didn't get in till later.
- 9:54Speaker 2: And I got it when I woke up this morning.
- 9:56Speaker 2: But you said you're in Pittsburgh. I didn't know whether
- 9:57Speaker 2: because I know you guys have been all over the
- 9:59Speaker 2: country literally doing rescues and things that nature. I wasn't
- 10:02Speaker 2: sure whether it was personal or business. So I just
- 10:05Speaker 2: gave you this.
- 10:06Speaker 8: Yeah, trust me. If I could, if I would have
- 10:08Speaker 8: picked up a couple of dogs and took him though.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Well, well you've been on the road I think plenty
- 10:12Speaker 2: this year. Right, let's talk about our adopt me please.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Bet of the Week has always picture posted Dave Allen
- 10:17Speaker 2: Radio on Facebook and also the w c HS Network
- 10:20Speaker 2: Facebook page and at Dave a seventy on X tell
- 10:23Speaker 2: us about Spruce.
- 10:26Speaker 8: Spruce is a very he has a very sad story.
- 10:29Speaker 8: He was adopted from US as a puppy after originally
- 10:32Speaker 8: being abandoned at the shelter, and his adopters had brought
- 10:37Speaker 8: him back. They didn't really give a reason as to
- 10:39Speaker 8: why they wanted to return him, just that you know,
- 10:41Speaker 8: they did not want him anymore. So Spruce is now
- 10:46Speaker 8: back available for adoption. He's just under a year old
- 10:51Speaker 8: and he's pretty much essentially grown up in the shelter environment.
- 10:54Speaker 8: So he does have a lot of puppy energy and
- 10:57Speaker 8: a lot of puppy behaviors that will need. But our
- 11:01Speaker 8: behaviorist is going to send you home with some homework
- 11:03Speaker 8: to work on.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Those teams homework homework.
- 11:06Speaker 8: I love that he's already been neutered. He's up to
- 11:10Speaker 8: date on his vaccines. He's great with other dogs. He
- 11:12Speaker 8: loves to play with other high energy dogs. I'm unsure
- 11:16Speaker 8: about cats, but we do know that he does get
- 11:19Speaker 8: a little nervous around children. So if you have really
- 11:22Speaker 8: care yeah, same so if you have kids that are
- 11:26Speaker 8: under the age of ten years old, you probably want
- 11:28Speaker 8: to look at some other dogs we have, just because
- 11:30Speaker 8: small kids and loud noises do make him very nervous.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Well, and again that's uh, you don't under You don't
- 11:35Speaker 2: know exactly what he's gone through before because there's certain
- 11:38Speaker 2: animals as you know, I mean one of my one
- 11:40Speaker 2: of my cats couldn't care less what happens outside, thunder lightning, fireworks.
- 11:44Speaker 2: He couldn't care less. As a matter of fact, I
- 11:46Speaker 2: thought he was deaf for a while because nothing bothers him.
- 11:49Speaker 2: But you know, the other ones we've had have you know,
- 11:52Speaker 2: been a little bit more sensitive to that. So just
- 11:53Speaker 2: know that he's a beautiful dog. What kind of dog
- 11:55Speaker 2: is he? Any idea in there?
- 11:58Speaker 8: Yeah, I would say he's a hound mix. He has
- 12:00Speaker 8: like the beagle shaped ears, beagle coloring, but he's really tall,
- 12:03Speaker 8: so he's probably a larger breed hound mix.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Okay, I do want to mention this. As I said
- 12:09Speaker 2: earlier in talking to Tom and Chris, we're not doing
- 12:11Speaker 2: a local show on Black Friday. The network show will
- 12:13Speaker 2: be on, So we're going to give you next Friday off,
- 12:15Speaker 2: but you are doing an event on Black Friday though,
- 12:18Speaker 2: talk about that.
- 12:19Speaker 8: I was going to say, I'm going to need next
- 12:21Speaker 8: Friday off. The shelter is going to be open from
- 12:25Speaker 8: noon till midnight, doing it options for free. So if
- 12:30Speaker 8: you you know, get off work late, if you you know,
- 12:33Speaker 8: want to sleep in from the big Thanksgiving dinner, whatever
- 12:38Speaker 8: whatever is going on, We're going to be open until
- 12:41Speaker 8: midnight on Black Friday.
- 12:43Speaker 2: All right? And I think I saw where that was
- 12:45Speaker 2: sponsored by Moses, Is that right?
- 12:47Speaker 8: Absolutely? On Saturday, we are going to be at Moses
- 12:50Speaker 8: Toyota from one to five.
- 12:52Speaker 2: And this is next Saturday, Next Saturday, yes, yes, yes.
- 12:55Speaker 8: Next Saturday, after a Black Friday. They've invited us out
- 12:59Speaker 8: and we you know, gladly obliged for them sponsoring all
- 13:02Speaker 8: these all the FeAs.
- 13:03Speaker 2: All right, and that sounds really good. And again you've
- 13:05Speaker 2: got full information available about it over on your Facebook page.
- 13:09Speaker 2: What else is going on at the shelter? What are
- 13:11Speaker 2: you guys. What are you guys needing right now?
- 13:14Speaker 8: So the usuals wet dog food adopters is a big
- 13:18Speaker 8: one as well. And then if you have any cleating
- 13:21Speaker 8: supplies like bleach gloves, steel wool pads, anything like that,
- 13:25Speaker 8: we're also running pretty low on and we would greatly
- 13:27Speaker 8: appreciate it.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Are you guys out and about anywhere this weekend? Are
- 13:30Speaker 2: you just kind of prepared for next weekend?
- 13:32Speaker 8: H Yeah, we're gonna take off this weekend prepared well deserved.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Well deserved to get ready for next weekend. Give Okay,
- 13:38Speaker 2: So you're going to open up next Friday, Black Friday.
- 13:41Speaker 2: You'll be open from noon until midnight. In the finally day,
- 13:43Speaker 2: you're going to be out at and Moses Toyota, so
- 13:46Speaker 2: we urge you to go out there. I gotta ask
- 13:48Speaker 2: you when it comes to the Thanksgiving dinner, Angie, what's
- 13:51Speaker 2: your favorite thing on the plate?
- 13:54Speaker 8: See, I'm a big fan of a sweet potato castrole
- 13:56Speaker 8: or a sweet potato pie.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Okay, me me too, I like I like both of those.
- 14:00Speaker 2: All right, Well, Angie, God bless you for doing what
- 14:02Speaker 2: you guys do. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We'll give you
- 14:04Speaker 2: next week off and again. That event is happening from
- 14:08Speaker 2: noon to midnight next Friday at the shelter and then
- 14:11Speaker 2: the following day you'll be out at Moses Toyota. Big
- 14:13Speaker 2: shout out to Moses for sponsoring both of those. We
- 14:15Speaker 2: will talk to you again in two weeks. Thanks a lot.
- 14:18Speaker 8: Sounds good.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Have a good one you as well again. Spruce is
- 14:21Speaker 2: our adopt me Please put it the week. Picture posted
- 14:24Speaker 2: over at Dave Aland Radio and Facebook. Also the WCCHS
- 14:27Speaker 2: Network Facebook page and at Dave a seventy on X.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Good looking dog looks take a little hound in the dog.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Probably better not to be around small kids because he
- 14:37Speaker 2: seems to be a little bit frightened by a lot
- 14:39Speaker 2: of commotion and loud noise which comes along with small
- 14:43Speaker 2: kids as you well know. So probably, as Angie said,
- 14:46Speaker 2: older kids teenagers probably would be okay. And does love
- 14:50Speaker 2: other playful dogs. They don't know about cats. He is neutered,

- 15:21Speaker 2: happy to say, was adopted. Later that day after her
- 15:24Speaker 2: quote unquote appearance on this show, when Angie and the

- 18:55Speaker 2: I'm ready. I saw that. I'm ready for It's I will.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I was gonna say I woke up to that this morning.
- 19:00Speaker 2: But when I got up and walked to the house
- 19:01Speaker 2: and turned the TV on, there you are wearing. That's
- 19:04Speaker 2: when I thought, I wonder if he'll wear that in
- 19:05Speaker 2: the studio. Answers, Yes, yep, it's that time. Where does
- 19:10Speaker 2: one acquire a multi colored gingerbread hoodie? Well, the key
- 19:16Speaker 2: is you get.
- 19:17Speaker 11: That first one and then all sorts of different Christmas
- 19:20Speaker 11: stuff follow ye around on your everywhere, your complete digital footprints.
- 19:27Speaker 11: I have a full closet of them now. So I
- 19:30Speaker 11: think I'm getting to the point where I can almost
- 19:32Speaker 11: have one a day for light the night.
- 19:34Speaker 2: All right, And Jill, you're rocking the Dirty Birds Christmas gif.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Og from last year?
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah? Are the still available?
- 19:41Speaker 6: They are? We have a few still available. We didn't
- 19:43Speaker 6: order any new ones for this year, but we do
- 19:45Speaker 6: have new merch and a new sweatshirt too.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Okay, now, and is of course you can always get
- 19:49Speaker 2: that online. Is it available during light that? I do
- 19:51Speaker 2: have somebody manning.
- 19:52Speaker 6: Works every night. Yep, five o'clock. We're going have someone
- 19:54Speaker 6: in the seam story.
- 19:55Speaker 2: That's a great and I mean, look, if you're looking
- 19:57Speaker 2: for a great Christmas gift, there you go right there,
- 19:59Speaker 2: because that's what I'm doing.
- 20:00Speaker 6: If you're my friend and you're expecting a Christmas good
- 20:02Speaker 6: for me, it's going to be Dirty Birds Late the Night.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Related, So last night was a media night. I was
- 20:07Speaker 2: not able to attend. How did it go last night?
- 20:09Speaker 2: It's kind of a sneak preview last night. It was awesome.
- 20:11Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 20:12Speaker 11: I'd say that the systems were tested and you know,
- 20:16Speaker 11: everything just looked absolutely amazing. The feedback was absolutely incredible,
- 20:21Speaker 11: and you know the thing that it's something you can't
- 20:23Speaker 11: necessarily measure, but the energy is just off the charts.
- 20:28Speaker 11: I mean, it is so awesome seeing so many people
- 20:31Speaker 11: so happy.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Well and ballpark figure no bad pun. I didn't really
- 20:37Speaker 2: intend that. How many people came through the gates last year, oh,
- 20:40Speaker 2: last year, last year, last year, last.
- 20:42Speaker 11: Year, we were like right around or a little over
- 20:44Speaker 11: one hundred and twenty five thousand.
- 20:45Speaker 2: That's amazing. And many of those are repeat customers too,
- 20:48Speaker 2: you know, because they because they come back, but some
- 20:51Speaker 2: of them aren't repeat customers. What I meant to say
- 20:53Speaker 2: by that was there's people that like it so much
- 20:55Speaker 2: that they that they go back to or three times.
- 20:57Speaker 2: But then you got a lot of first timers too.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Oh that's what's so cool.
- 20:59Speaker 11: I mean here and some people talk about how they
- 21:01Speaker 11: come with their kids, then they come one time with
- 21:04Speaker 11: their spouse, then they come with their company, then they'll
- 21:06Speaker 11: come with when they're they have relatives visiting from out
- 21:09Speaker 11: of town.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I mean, hearing that stuff is so cool.
- 21:11Speaker 11: But then seeing that we had people come from literally
- 21:14Speaker 11: every County in West Virginia. Literally we had nearly fifty
- 21:18Speaker 11: states represented that. We had a big group from Japan
- 21:23Speaker 11: that enjoyed the heck out of it, and especially now
- 21:26Speaker 11: think about It's funny because it was about half the
- 21:29Speaker 11: time talk about how amazing the lights were and everything.
- 21:31Speaker 11: Half the time talk about Otani, which that has aged amazingly. Yes,
- 21:36Speaker 11: they're both do a terrific still. So yeah, a lot
- 21:39Speaker 11: of cool stuff.
- 21:40Speaker 2: So what's new this year? Oh, it's awesome.
- 21:42Speaker 11: So we've got about two or three times as many
- 21:46Speaker 11: rides and activities for kids in the kind of carnival world.
- 21:50Speaker 11: We've got more inflatables than we've ever had. The ice
- 21:53Speaker 11: skating rink is bigger. We've got a stuffy station where
- 21:57Speaker 11: you can make your own stuffed animal.
- 21:59Speaker 2: We've got that because I saw something on your social
- 22:02Speaker 2: media about that. Explain where that concept came from. Well,
- 22:05Speaker 2: so what we.
- 22:06Speaker 11: Really wanted was just more things that are interactive and
- 22:09Speaker 11: more things were just more experiences. So having that and
- 22:12Speaker 11: we've got it for nineteen ninety nine, trying to make
- 22:14Speaker 11: it as accessible as possible for people. You know, it's
- 22:18Speaker 11: just one more cool, fun memory that people can have
- 22:21Speaker 11: when they're at the ballparking at late the night. The
- 22:25Speaker 11: one that I'm ridiculously cool. This is kind of almost
- 22:27Speaker 11: from my daughter, but uh, we've got a new cotton
- 22:30Speaker 11: candy machine.
- 22:31Speaker 2: That is it's ridiculous.
- 22:33Speaker 11: I mean, it's funny to get geeked out about a
- 22:35Speaker 11: cotton candy machine, but it like what you like. It'th
- 22:38Speaker 11: it's just so neat. And that's what we just again,
- 22:40Speaker 11: you know, I can't say enough. We just wanted to
- 22:42Speaker 11: keep adding more experiences for people.
- 22:44Speaker 2: And we do want to remind people that it's best
- 22:46Speaker 2: to get your tickets in advance, right, I mean, it's
- 22:49Speaker 2: that's the that's the best way to do it for
- 22:51Speaker 2: everybody involved.
- 22:52Speaker 11: Absolutely, yeah, I mean it's uh it it definitely saves
- 22:55Speaker 11: you some time. It cuts down on some time just
- 22:58Speaker 11: waiting for the lines because until we get a bigger
- 23:01Speaker 11: box office built, you know, it's it's a great thing
- 23:05Speaker 11: to see. Actually, but haven't been able to get your
- 23:08Speaker 11: tickets online? I recommend dirty birds Baseball dot com. All
- 23:11Speaker 11: of the information is right there and makes it nice
- 23:14Speaker 11: and efficient for you.
- 23:16Speaker 2: So what seems to be the more popular events, give
- 23:20Speaker 2: me two or three every year that people say, oh
- 23:22Speaker 2: and again you change it every year. That's one of
- 23:24Speaker 2: the things. I love it, but it's not the same
- 23:25Speaker 2: old thing every year. But maybe going back to last year,
- 23:28Speaker 2: what was the one that you think you got the
- 23:29Speaker 2: most buzz on last year? One or two? Well, so,
- 23:32Speaker 2: I mean ice skating rink for sure. Yeah, I mean
- 23:35Speaker 2: that's one of those things. It is. It like to
- 23:37Speaker 2: answer every question. It is real ice.
- 23:39Speaker 11: I'll be honest, I didn't even know there was like
- 23:41Speaker 11: a fake ice that much, but and now all I
- 23:43Speaker 11: hear about that world is just how not fun it is.
- 23:46Speaker 11: So the fact that we have real ice twenty four
- 23:49Speaker 11: to seven for the next month and.
- 23:50Speaker 2: A half, how does that work? Guys?
- 23:52Speaker 11: We've got a giant chiller out and above the right
- 23:56Speaker 11: center field wall that is keeping that baby frozen on stop,
- 24:01Speaker 11: so it's and then we've got this zamboni. We've got
- 24:03Speaker 11: an awesome crew and people that are always maintaining it
- 24:05Speaker 11: and working it. And we've got a bunch of ice
- 24:09Speaker 11: skating helper systems where people that my seven year old
- 24:13Speaker 11: son was using it last night. He's never skated before,
- 24:15Speaker 11: but he was able to be out on the rink
- 24:17Speaker 11: with this helper taking him around. So you do not
- 24:20Speaker 11: need to be training for the Olympics to be able
- 24:22Speaker 11: to enjoy it. And then the other one too is
- 24:24Speaker 11: still it's the best one. And this was this was
- 24:28Speaker 11: Ben was so adam about this since before day one
- 24:30Speaker 11: was the Ferris Wheel, and he was so right because
- 24:34Speaker 11: it is just such a visual And then it is
- 24:37Speaker 11: so cool seeing people's photos that they post from up
- 24:42Speaker 11: the up on top because it's always a different time
- 24:44Speaker 11: of day, different lights are on in the city, this
- 24:46Speaker 11: different angle and so forth and so on.
- 24:48Speaker 2: It is it's just awesome. What's the deal with the
- 24:51Speaker 2: Ferris Wheel. Is this is something you just liked as
- 24:53Speaker 2: a kid or what?
- 24:53Speaker 12: Ben?
- 24:54Speaker 5: No, I just want I wanted people to be able
- 24:55Speaker 5: to see it from the interstate. Yeah, I want to.
- 24:57Speaker 2: That's the way to do it.
- 24:58Speaker 5: As they're coming in. I mean you can see it
- 25:00Speaker 5: a quarter mile to a half a mile out the
- 25:02Speaker 5: Ferris Whale, and then of course as you get closer
- 25:04Speaker 5: there's like the glow you know that you can see
- 25:07Speaker 5: for many, many miles, probably all the way to the moon.
- 25:10Speaker 5: But it is if you haven't seen two and a
- 25:13Speaker 5: half million lights in person, you and have to come
- 25:16Speaker 5: check this out. It is incredible and they are always
- 25:19Speaker 5: adding new features, new things. Last night was the first
- 25:23Speaker 5: time I'd seen it in the dark. I've been over
- 25:24Speaker 5: several times during the day as they were setting up,
- 25:26Speaker 5: but every time I go there, I'm just just completely
- 25:31Speaker 5: in awe.
- 25:31Speaker 2: And I saw several post guys some people on social
- 25:35Speaker 2: media last night that had attended, you know, the thing
- 25:37Speaker 2: last night to kind of the sneak sneak preview, and
- 25:40Speaker 2: it looked awesome. I mean, it really really did.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Yeah, they had a business after hours event there, and
- 25:45Speaker 5: then we had the media night, and then we had
- 25:48Speaker 5: just a couple extra tickets to go out to friends
- 25:50Speaker 5: and family just to kind of test the systems, make
- 25:52Speaker 5: sure everything's working, make sure we didn't pop a bulb.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Then the whole thing go down last night, so they
- 25:58Speaker 5: had it all set up. I know that Andy and
- 25:59Speaker 5: this team been working very hard on it, and I
- 26:01Speaker 5: think they were out till one point thirty or two
- 26:03Speaker 5: in the morning getting it ready.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I mean, when you see the finished product, you think, wow,
- 26:09Speaker 2: this is awesome. But when you get actually in there
- 26:11Speaker 2: and and see how what it takes to pull this
- 26:14Speaker 2: thing off, it's truly amazing.
- 26:16Speaker 5: My favorite part I like watching people come in because
- 26:20Speaker 5: they're just they're just in awe of it. And then
- 26:24Speaker 5: I like watching parents trying to get their kids to leave.
- 26:26Speaker 2: It's hilarious to me as somebody who's got older kids.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I don't have to do that now, So
- 26:32Speaker 5: I just kind of stand there and watch them trying
- 26:33Speaker 5: to drag the kids out. You know, it's close to
- 26:35Speaker 5: the closing time and they don't want to leave. But
- 26:38Speaker 5: it's it's one of those things that first of all,
- 26:41Speaker 5: get your tickets in advance. You want to spend your
- 26:43Speaker 5: time in the park, not standing in line. And I
- 26:46Speaker 5: try try to get there early, and there's there's.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Lots to do. What time does it open? Every day?
- 26:52Speaker 11: Opens up every day every day at five five. Sunday
- 26:55Speaker 11: through Thursday it's oh, we're open until nine pm, and
- 27:00Speaker 11: on Saturday it's ten pm. And then we're open from
- 27:03Speaker 11: today through January first, every day except for.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Christmas, except for Christmas AD, so you'll be there Christmas Eve. Yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 2: And people think that's kind of odd that. I think
- 27:11Speaker 2: in my in my hometown, we had a Christmas in
- 27:13Speaker 2: the park. They still do a kount of event, and
- 27:16Speaker 2: people say, well, who wants to go down there on
- 27:18Speaker 2: Christmas Eve? Christmas Eve was the busiest night for actually, no,
- 27:22Speaker 2: I take that back down there. For theirs, the first
- 27:24Speaker 2: night it was open, okay, was after that. The second
- 27:27Speaker 2: busiest night was Christmas Eve. Because every family's got their
- 27:30Speaker 2: own traditions.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Well, and you've got family in from out of town.
- 27:33Speaker 5: So if you've got to go coming in from out
- 27:35Speaker 5: of town, make sure you go over, you know around
- 27:37Speaker 5: Thanksgiving or after Thanksgiving or Christmas time, make sure you
- 27:40Speaker 5: take them and show them the lights. I think they're
- 27:42Speaker 5: going to be, Uh, they're going to be very pleased.
- 27:44Speaker 2: What kind of things are you anticipating for, like groups
- 27:47Speaker 2: when they come in? I mean, because I know you
- 27:49Speaker 2: have groups that come in, whether it's church groups or
- 27:51Speaker 2: it's you know, people coming in from out of town.
- 27:52Speaker 2: There's there's a there's a I learned this. There is
- 27:55Speaker 2: a culture of people kind of like with amusement parks
- 27:58Speaker 2: who just like to go ride roller coasters. There's some
- 28:00Speaker 2: of these just that just live to go look at
- 28:02Speaker 2: Christmas lights. And you've seen a lot of those Ben
- 28:05Speaker 2: you and I talked to him. We love those people. Yes,
- 28:07Speaker 2: that's what they love.
- 28:08Speaker 5: That's our crew.
- 28:09Speaker 2: What kind of things do you have going on if
- 28:11Speaker 2: somebody wants to have a a group out and maybe
- 28:14Speaker 2: they want to get to go we want to bring
- 28:15Speaker 2: all our employees over for a Christmas party or something
- 28:17Speaker 2: like that.
- 28:17Speaker 11: We do that a bunch, and I mean that's something
- 28:19Speaker 11: that we're really trying to focus on so that we
- 28:21Speaker 11: can provide options to other companies, people and groups in
- 28:24Speaker 11: the community. So we've got a cool partnership with a
- 28:27Speaker 11: Bruises this year, our downstore downstairs neighbor. Uh So they're
- 28:31Speaker 11: one of the catering options for if someone wants to
- 28:34Speaker 11: cater and wants food.
- 28:36Speaker 2: We've got an awesome new menu this year.
- 28:38Speaker 11: I mean we've got I needed to cut myself off
- 28:42Speaker 11: of the Thanksgiving sliders last night.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Thanksgiving slider, Yes, exactly, do tell So it's awesome. I
- 28:49Speaker 2: mean it is.
- 28:49Speaker 11: It's turkey graving and gravy and even a little chicken
- 28:52Speaker 11: broth on there, but just sliders right at the concession stand.
- 28:56Speaker 11: So I mean it is absolutely awesome. We've got to
- 28:59Speaker 11: reously I cannot wait. I mean this is going to
- 29:02Speaker 11: be almost dangerous of hot chocolate with dippin' dots, So
- 29:05Speaker 11: that's gonna be awesome.
- 29:06Speaker 2: So there's all sorts of options I get the idea
- 29:08Speaker 2: that Soelango designed the menu.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Yeah, it's all about the health. Anytime you put gravy
- 29:15Speaker 5: on the sandwich. What really, you're just wanting to keep
- 29:17Speaker 5: it under one hundred galleries drink a dit coke with.
- 29:20Speaker 11: So we've got a lot, We've got a ton of
- 29:21Speaker 11: options that wide range, whether it's a group discount for
- 29:26Speaker 11: people on the ticket side, or we've got spaces, we've

- 30:43Speaker 2: and December? I mean, it's a it's a fickle month.
- 30:46Speaker 11: I mean, you know, so, I mean, and you know
- 30:48Speaker 11: April showers bring my flowers in baseball, and you know
- 30:50Speaker 11: all of it. But you know, it might rain, it

- 36:07Speaker 2: Good morning, And I happened to I get to a
- 36:10Speaker 2: lot of times. I'm running around like crazy here at
- 36:12Speaker 2: the last minute.
- 36:13Speaker 5: We all do that.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Actually, at nine o'clock, got to go downstairs and we
- 36:16Speaker 2: have it. It's on the V one hundred Facebook page.
- 36:18Speaker 2: It was Facebook lived and you can go back and
- 36:21Speaker 2: take a look at it. We had a studio full
- 36:23Speaker 2: of people down there when we flipped the switch. Good stuff, man.
- 36:26Speaker 12: Yeah, it's always hectic. I mean, people don't understand what
- 36:30Speaker 12: goes into this. We were talking off air, like we started.
- 36:32Speaker 12: I started in September looking at music and we call
- 36:36Speaker 12: it imaging the voice guy.
- 36:38Speaker 2: All of that.
- 36:39Speaker 12: I started in September to be ready for November twenty
- 36:41Speaker 12: first this year. So it's it's a couple of months
- 36:44Speaker 12: in the making, all right.
- 36:45Speaker 2: So The biggest question that you're probably getting and on
- 36:48Speaker 2: social media, and I'm going to give you a chance
- 36:49Speaker 2: to address it now, is why so early? Why so early?
- 36:52Speaker 12: So I said this to somebody this week because that's
- 36:56Speaker 12: the question everybody else that so Thanksgiving us thirst day
- 37:01Speaker 12: and everybody's off this week. When I say everybody this
- 37:05Speaker 12: coming week, schools, schools are not ready. No, yeah, we're here,
- 37:09Speaker 12: we're here, but this is the weekend people start shopping,
- 37:11Speaker 12: They're going to the store, they maybe they're decorating for
- 37:14Speaker 12: family coming in. This is kind of the unofficial when
- 37:17Speaker 12: everybody starts to get ready for Christmas.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Well, and that's when we did our turkey drop yesterday.
- 37:23Speaker 2: There's actual research that shows because when Rob Real talked
- 37:25Speaker 2: about that, So why do you do it on the Thursday,
- 37:27Speaker 2: a week away from Thanksgiving?
- 37:28Speaker 6: Yep.
- 37:29Speaker 2: One was because with Union Mission they prepare all the
- 37:31Speaker 2: boxes on Saturday. But number two, it is proven that
- 37:33Speaker 2: that is the that's the best time. This when even
- 37:36Speaker 2: people that aren't contributing to like we were yesterday with
- 37:38Speaker 2: Union Mission, that's when. And trust me, I live in
- 37:41Speaker 2: Tay's Valley, all right. I got off the exit yesterday
- 37:43Speaker 2: thirty minutes. It took me. Uh and it was mainly
- 37:46Speaker 2: people pulling into Kroger yesterday.
- 37:48Speaker 12: So yeah, well and I mean two Thanksgiving is later
- 37:52Speaker 12: this year. Well I think it was last year too,
- 37:54Speaker 12: So really we're we're going to be playing Christmas for
- 37:57Speaker 12: a month and four days.
- 37:59Speaker 2: So it's a lot of Christmas. It is a lot
- 38:01Speaker 2: of Christmas. So how do you choose what Christmas music?
- 38:04Speaker 12: Lots and lots of research, We look at national data.
- 38:08Speaker 12: Fun fact. Mariah Carey, you know how we thought she
- 38:10Speaker 12: was the Queen of Christmas. I mean she's still kind
- 38:12Speaker 12: of is. That's what we kicked the hour off with
- 38:15Speaker 12: this morning, But she actually is lower on the charts
- 38:19Speaker 12: this year. She's not in the top ten. She's like
- 38:21Speaker 12: number forty forty five. So it's interesting, is she on
- 38:23Speaker 12: a five year cycle? I remember, because I'm old. I
- 38:27Speaker 12: remember when that song came out. It was released in Christmas.
- 38:31Speaker 2: It was either the Christmas of ninety three about to
- 38:34Speaker 2: become ninety four, Okay. I remember playing that song when
- 38:37Speaker 2: it was new, and there was something about that song
- 38:40Speaker 2: when it came in and I'm not saying I'm you know,
- 38:42Speaker 2: I was a predictor of what was going to happen.
- 38:44Speaker 2: It was going to be big two hundred years from now.
- 38:46Speaker 2: But I remember playing that song when it came in
- 38:49Speaker 2: and I thought, there's something about this song, and I
- 38:54Speaker 2: didn't know that two hundred years later we're so going
- 38:56Speaker 2: to be playing it. But it's people, it's a classic.
- 39:01Speaker 2: It's a semple. Yeah, it's become right up there with
- 39:04Speaker 2: the White Christmas. And I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
- 39:07Speaker 2: and so on and sover. All Right, so you said
- 39:09Speaker 2: she's kind of been dethrone. What are some of the
- 39:11Speaker 2: top research based Christmas songs? I was hoping you wouldn't
- 39:14Speaker 2: ask me that to.
- 39:15Speaker 12: Give me all of them, and just a couple that
- 39:17Speaker 12: ron At Slayer Eyed White Christmas is up there always
- 39:20Speaker 12: and Wham Last Christmas. So those have kind of been
- 39:25Speaker 12: in the top for years.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Are people, because you know, I'm so wofully out of
- 39:29Speaker 2: touch and old, I don't listen to a whole lot
- 39:31Speaker 2: of new music, But are people still releasing Christmas songs?
- 39:34Speaker 2: I mean, like the top artists of the day, because
- 39:36Speaker 2: that was always a thing. I mean, I remember when
- 39:39Speaker 2: a very special Christmas album came out in nineteen eighty seven,
- 39:41Speaker 2: and it was a fundraiser, I think for special Olympics
- 39:43Speaker 2: and you had. They included Bob Seger, Little Drummer Boy,
- 39:47Speaker 2: Run DMC, My Favorite Christmas and Hollis and all those.
- 39:51Speaker 2: But are artists still new artists? Are they still releasing Christmas?
- 39:54Speaker 12: Yes, Jimmy Fallon, who's not an artist, he has a
- 39:57Speaker 12: Christmas lots of Christmas songs. Jonas there's just dropped a
- 40:02Speaker 12: Christmas album, Christmas Special, and Megan Trainer has some songs
- 40:06Speaker 12: a less Yakara. So yeah, they're putting out new Christmas
- 40:09Speaker 12: songs and when I say new Christmas songs, renditions of classics.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and new stuff too well, because by and large
- 40:16Speaker 2: there's like ten Christmas absolutely yeah, and it's fun to
- 40:19Speaker 2: different period, right. Yeah. I know you're going to find
- 40:22Speaker 2: this very hard to believe listeners and logan. I tend
- 40:24Speaker 2: to like them more off the wall stuff, Okay, find
- 40:27Speaker 2: you know, you know, Merry Christmas from the Family, Okay,
- 40:30Speaker 2: because I can relate. What about Bob Rivers, the Twelve
- 40:32Speaker 2: Pains of Christmas, Pains of Christmas on Twisted Sisters Christmas
- 40:36Speaker 2: album that they not that years again, Okay, we'll go listen, Well, listen,
- 40:39Speaker 2: I don't want you to play it. Okay, we'll say
- 40:41Speaker 2: that for the we'll save that stuff for the for
- 40:43Speaker 2: the all right. We had a text here with some requests.
- 40:46Speaker 12: Oh my gosh, three oh four, three four, Well, I'm
- 40:48Speaker 12: gonna give my number three oh four, three four five
- 40:50Speaker 12: eight one zero zero.
- 40:51Speaker 2: All right. So Rod Stewart and Dolly Parsons, maybe it's
- 40:53Speaker 2: cold out, Dolly Parton, maybe it's cold out? Is it
- 40:56Speaker 2: politically correct? Can we play that song? Weegind? Yeah? Okay,
- 41:00Speaker 2: just asking. Uh, I may be pronouncing this wrong, Asalin
- 41:04Speaker 2: debson the gift never heard of it. Okay, all right,
- 41:06Speaker 2: we'll look into it. Well, Barry Manilow, because it's Christmas.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Roy Orbison, pretty paper about that one. That's a good one,
- 41:13Speaker 2: written by Willie Nelson. Okay, f y the newer song
- 41:17Speaker 2: says the text from the last couple of years. Not popular.
- 41:19Speaker 2: They seem to play several times a day. And that's
- 41:21Speaker 2: a retlative that you got research that would say otherwise.
- 41:24Speaker 12: Right, I've got the receipts as the kids say.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Is that what the kids say? Thinks six SIPs? I don't, yeah,
- 41:30Speaker 2: don't get a started on that, but you know, and
- 41:32Speaker 2: I just think it's when when you started on the
- 41:35Speaker 2: social media for V one hundred announcing you were going
- 41:38Speaker 2: to do this. It's mixed. It's mixed, and that's what
- 41:41Speaker 2: you's okay, and that's what you get because not everybody
- 41:43Speaker 2: and and think about your own Christmas traditions in your family, right,
- 41:47Speaker 2: not everybody does things the same way, and that's okay,
- 41:50Speaker 2: and we'll still be here and still be here, all right.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Did you a chance to go over to the preview
- 41:55Speaker 2: of Yes last Night and your take on Light to Night?
- 41:58Speaker 1: It's awesome.
- 41:59Speaker 12: There's a video I'll post out on the V one
- 42:01Speaker 12: hundred Facebook of us of me and Jill plugging in
- 42:04Speaker 12: the lights. Okay, that will be on the on the
- 42:07Speaker 12: socials here in a bit.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Somebody said a text here and said, the Jonas brothers
- 42:10Speaker 2: have a Christmas movie they do.
- 42:11Speaker 12: Yeah, I think it's on Hulu maybe, okay, Netflix, I
- 42:14Speaker 12: have to look into that.
- 42:15Speaker 2: And you're going to play the Christmas music until when
- 42:19Speaker 2: through Christmas Day, see midnight. That is always a big
- 42:23Speaker 2: thing because stations doing all Christmas music is a relatively
- 42:28Speaker 2: new thing, right. It used to be it was just
- 42:29Speaker 2: a couple of songs here there, and that's what some
- 42:32Speaker 2: of our other stations in the building do the little
- 42:34Speaker 2: you know, a couple here here and there. But flipping
- 42:38Speaker 2: the format to all Christmas is a relatively new thing,
- 42:41Speaker 2: last ten to fifteen years or so. And the big
- 42:44Speaker 2: question is always when do you start it and when
- 42:47Speaker 2: do you end it? And there's to me, there's no
- 42:50Speaker 2: wrong answer.
- 42:52Speaker 12: But knowing me, my family, friends, their family, we kind
- 42:58Speaker 12: of wrapped things up on the twenty fifth, So twenty
- 43:01Speaker 12: six back to and I may throw a Christmas song
- 43:04Speaker 12: in here or there on the twenty sixth.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Well, what day's Christmas on there? It's a Thursday. It's
- 43:08Speaker 2: a Thursday. Okay, So a lot of people, I'm gonna
- 43:10Speaker 2: good and predict now, a lot of people will be
- 43:12Speaker 2: taking that Friday off, you know, for a long weekend.
- 43:14Speaker 2: So the Christmas is you know, Christmas stuff will actually
- 43:17Speaker 2: continue probably for the weekend.
- 43:18Speaker 4: Yep.
- 43:19Speaker 2: And then then we get ready for you know, the
- 43:21Speaker 2: snow and nastiness that comes with January. Well hopefully we
- 43:23Speaker 2: have some of that in December. While Christmas music song
- 43:26Speaker 2: You're a snow guy, I mean we're in West Virginia,
- 43:28Speaker 2: I know, but especially where you're from. Absolutely, I mean
- 43:31Speaker 2: it's a different level up there in the area and
- 43:33Speaker 2: look the panhandle where you're front.
- 43:34Speaker 12: Well, and when I moved here, I've lived up at
- 43:36Speaker 12: Eagle View on the on the Big Mountain, and people
- 43:38Speaker 12: here were like, how are you gonna And I'm like,
- 43:40Speaker 12: I live in West Virginia.
- 43:41Speaker 2: I know how to drive in snow. So h Logan
- 43:43Speaker 2: Scott's the Christmas music is underway. So Mariah Carey was
- 43:46Speaker 2: the first Christmas song you played this morning? What was
- 43:48Speaker 2: the second?

- 48:55Speaker 2: It's a really, really good book and if you get
- 48:59Speaker 2: an opportunity, pick up a copy. And as I said,
- 49:03Speaker 2: Danny brought me in a copy on the show. He's
- 49:05Speaker 2: with me every Monday and I read a little bit
- 49:07Speaker 2: every night. Finished the book last night. It's really, really
- 49:11Speaker 2: a good book, and it goes all over Danny's life
- 49:15Speaker 2: from his childhood his teenage years. But there's also a
- 49:18Speaker 2: lot of more modern stuff as well. You get Danny,
- 49:20Speaker 2: you get Danny Jones, the sheriff, you get Danny Jones,
- 49:23Speaker 2: the actor, Danny Jones, the government you know, state government official,
- 49:27Speaker 2: Danny Jones, the bartender, Danny Jones, the restaurant tour. Of course,
- 49:31Speaker 2: the mayor spends a lot of time talking about a
- 49:33Speaker 2: couple of big events, like the building of the ballpark,
- 49:37Speaker 2: the expansion of the coliseum and convention center, the pension,
- 49:42Speaker 2: the problems that they had with the pension plan in Charleston,
- 49:44Speaker 2: and things of that nature, of the water crisis, the
- 49:48Speaker 2: controversy of the needle exchange, radio career. It's really really

- 50:08Speaker 2: the book two of Danny over the years and his
- 50:11Speaker 2: family and so on and so forth. If if you
- 50:13Speaker 2: look very closely, there is a picture of Danny inside
- 50:18Speaker 2: Danny's barbecue stand. One of his sons is in the picture.
- 50:21Speaker 2: You can just see my arm just a little bit.
- 50:24Speaker 2: It's just as it's a little bit of my shirt sleeve.
- 50:27Speaker 2: Because if you were called when Danny closed the barbecue
- 50:30Speaker 2: stand the first time around, we actually did this show
- 50:33Speaker 2: live from his place and it was kind of a
- 50:34Speaker 2: tribute to Danny. We had political officials in, we had
- 50:37Speaker 2: this longtime friends that came in to just sit on
- 50:41Speaker 2: the show. But if you look very closely, you can
- 50:44Speaker 2: see the corner of my arm. I didn't get a
- 50:46Speaker 2: mention in the book, but that's okay. I got a
- 50:48Speaker 2: picture of my arm. But eight Island Show in five
