- 1:01Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
- 1:06I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 1:08Anderson, and joining me today is Tiffany Fletcher of our Women warriors of Light Advisory Board.
- 1:14Today we're going to be very, very real about the secret season when the heavens feel like they are completely closed.
- 1:22First, we're going to normalize the ebb and flow of a spiritual life, the reality that everyone, even and especially the most faithful experience periods of silence.
- 1:34Second, I'm going to share a powerful reminder from Hebrews about the consistency of Christ when our feelings tell us he's gone.
- 1:42Third, we'll break down the four reasons for silence to help you troubleshoot your own heart.
- 1:48And finally, we'll talk about the casting out strategy, how to clear the adversary's chatter so that you can finally hear heaven's whisper.
- 1:57But let's kick it off by talking about the spiritual ebb and flow.
- 2:01I think everybody's life ebbs and flows where we're totally tuned in to God.
- 2:08We might be hearing him really well.
- 2:10And then we have a period where it's like crickets.
- 2:15You know, you're not hearing or receiving anything and you're wondering why.
- 2:23So, my friends, it's a rhythm, not a rejection.
- 2:27But when we're in the middle of that ebb, our brains start telling us that God has changed or moved on.
- 2:33That is when we have to anchor ourselves in the truth of who he is.
- 2:38There's a beautiful verse that reminds us of a key principle here in Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 8.
- 2:45It says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
- 2:51So he is there.
- 2:54He's always there, listening.
- 2:55He's always ready to give you what you need.
- 2:59I Think sometimes we might not be asking the right questions.
- 3:05So, my friends, if he hasn't changed, then why is it so quiet?
- 3:11In a recent episode, Tiffany Fletcher shared for brilliant reasons why we might feel a block with our communication with heaven.
- 3:20And I'm going to summarize them for you here today.
- 3:23First, the chatter.
- 3:25Oh my goodness, guys, we live in a noisy world and sometimes the adversary is simply crowding out your mind with so much digital and mental noise that the still, small voice just can't get through.
- 3:39Second, an unaccepted answer.
- 3:42I have personal experience with this one.
- 3:43Perhaps God has already given you an answ, but because it wasn't the yes that you wanted, you've put it on the shelf or you've stopped listening.
- 3:53He might simply be waiting for you to accept the last thing he said before he gives you the next thing.
- 4:00This is especially hard because it sometimes requires us submitting to his will.
- 4:05And that's hard when it's something we don't want to do or experience or hear.
- 4:12And.
- 4:12And yes, ladies, it is hard when you're facing the death of a loved one or a life changing diagnosis and you don't want a no to be the answer.
- 4:22Number three.
- 4:23Sometimes the answer is not yet.
- 4:25Oof.
- 4:26That's a hard one too.
- 4:27It's hard to just wait in limbo and hold tight, isn't it?
- 4:32But remember, perhaps you're in the waiting room because there are pieces of the puzzle that are moving that you simply really cannot see yet, and so your prayers can go towards that.
- 4:42Lord, while I'm in waiting, please help me see what I can do or move other pieces of the puzzle so that I can gain some forward momentum again, or so that I can hear you more clearly and know
- 4:54my next step.
- 4:55The fourth tip is the conduct check.
- 4:58Sometimes there's a block because of something going on in our hearts.
- 5:02Perhaps it's unresolved anger, a need for repentance, or or perhaps a refusal to forgive.
- 5:08God's spirit is sensitive.
- 5:11If we are driving it away with our conduct, we have to clear that path first.
- 5:16And if you're not willing to do it, here's a simple prayer.
- 5:19I like to pray.
- 5:20Dear Lord, please help me with the desire to forgive or the desire to not be angry at this person anymore.
- 5:28God can help change our hearts so that we can move past that he is mighty to change our minds and our heart.
- 5:37One additional tip can be found In Matthew, chapter 13, verses 16 through 17, where it says, but blessed are your eyes because they see and your Ears because they hear for truly.
- 5:51I tell you, many prophets and righteous people have longed to see what you see, but did not see it.
- 5:58And hear what you did hear, but did not hear it.
- 6:01Isn't that beautiful?
- 6:02My friends, ask God to give you eyes to see how he is showing up in your life at the end of each day, and then write it down.
- 6:13Once we identify the reason, we have to take clear action to clear the channel.
- 6:18The reason is the chatter.
- 6:19We have to be bold about claiming our mental space and creating moments of silence.
- 6:26Tiffany has a very specific way of handling that spiritual interference.
- 6:32The chatter is not necessarily outside in the world.
- 6:35It's also in our own mind, our own thoughts.
- 6:38Like, we can get really noisy inside of our head.
- 6:41And the adversary is really good at trying to get that chatter in our head to be so loud that we can't hear the Spirit through that chatter.
- 6:49And so sometimes for me, one of the best things that you could do is cast Satan's influence out and ask Heavenly Father to open up and protect that channel of communication.
- 6:58So, so that.
- 6:59And visualize the Savior standing next to you.
- 7:02Visualize yourself kneeling before Heavenly Father when you pray, because that is how you were going to get the answers.
- 7:08You were.
- 7:09If you feel a block, it's because the adversary is there putting something in the way to block your communication with Heavenly Father.
- 7:18I will literally close my eyes and focus on the Savior and imagine him standing before me and just saying, okay, help me in this situation.
- 7:28What can I do?
- 7:29Where can I go?
- 7:30How can I be of service to you?
- 7:32How can I be your hands?
- 7:34And I think if we envision the Savior walking with us every day, if we envision having that conversation with him in our mind, it quiets our mind and it quiets the chatter because it focuses us on Him.
- 7:48So my friends, if you are in a season of silence, please know that God has not forgotten your name.
- 7:55He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
- 7:59Whether you need to clear the chatter, accept a hard no, or just hold on through a limbo or not yet holding pattern, he is right there in the quiet with you.
- 8:11That I can promise you, because he's been with me through my quiet moments.
