- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I am six forty Bill Handle. Here.
- 0:09Speaker 3: It is a Thursday morning, October sixteenth, storry I want
- 0:14Speaker 3: to share with you. And this is another story of
- 0:19Speaker 3: this president doing things that other presidents not only have
- 0:22Speaker 3: never done, never dreamed of doing. And this is a
- 0:26Speaker 3: story about the President saying that if Boston wasn't prepared
- 0:33Speaker 3: enough for crime, it wasn't being made any safer than
- 0:39Speaker 3: he would seek to move the twenty twenty six World
- 0:43Speaker 3: Cups World Cup out of Boston. But where's it gonna go?
- 0:48Speaker 3: No idea, but we wanted out of Boston. He also
- 0:52Speaker 3: said the same thing about la and the Olympics. This
- 0:56Speaker 3: is and this is not a statement that he made
- 0:59Speaker 3: pursuant to a press conference or a policy statement. These
- 1:03Speaker 3: are reporters that throw stuff at him and he reacts
- 1:07Speaker 3: because that's what he does. So, mister President, do you
- 1:11Speaker 3: plan on assassinating you know, Macrone of France?
- 1:17Speaker 2: Well, I haven't thought about it.
- 1:18Speaker 3: And then that becomes world that becomes front page news.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And it's almost as this as these as if.
- 1:24Speaker 3: These reporters are goating the president into responding, and usually
- 1:30Speaker 3: things that aren't even at issue there and so, and
- 1:34Speaker 3: the President does respond. And as I said during the
- 1:37Speaker 3: news segment, the president has such unbelievable influence that when
- 1:41Speaker 3: the President of the United States sneezes, the world catches
- 1:44Speaker 3: a cold. And so his lines are just they're ridiculous.
- 1:50Speaker 3: So he doesn't have any jurisdiction. Does he really have
- 1:54Speaker 3: the authority to tell Boston you or tell FIFA move
- 1:59Speaker 3: the World Cup out of Boston eight months before the
- 2:03Speaker 3: World Cup is scheduled to start.
- 2:07Speaker 2: How do you do that?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Or how about the Olympics move the twenty twenty eight
- 2:13Speaker 3: Olympics out of Los Angeles? Because Los Angeles has a
- 2:17Speaker 3: Democratic mayor in California is newsome, and Boston is a liberal.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Chicago has a mayor who is Democrat. And the President
- 2:27Speaker 3: has made absolutely no bones about it. He thinks that
- 2:31Speaker 3: all democratic cities, who well mayors of democratic cities, those
- 2:36Speaker 3: cities are in ruins.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Those cities are overrun with criminals.
- 2:44Speaker 3: There's no republican city in the United States, by the way,
- 2:46Speaker 3: that has that problem. I want to point that out.
- 2:48Speaker 3: There is not a republican city. When I mean republican
- 2:52Speaker 3: city that's run by a Republican mayor or a city
- 2:56Speaker 3: council and a mayor. So this became a really big deal.
- 3:01Speaker 3: So there's a couple of bits of politics I want
- 3:03Speaker 3: to throw in here too. The head of FIFA is
- 3:09Speaker 3: actually a friend of Trump's, if not a friend, certainly
- 3:12Speaker 3: an ally of Trump's. Matter of fact, Trump invited him
- 3:18Speaker 3: to be at the signing in Gaza or in Egypt
- 3:22Speaker 3: for the peace conference. And what the hell does the
- 3:25Speaker 3: head of FIFA I have to do with anything? And
- 3:27Speaker 3: so as he said, I love the people of Boston.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I know the games are sold out, but your mayor
- 3:34Speaker 3: is not good. And this is during the lunch with
- 3:37Speaker 3: the Argentinian president, and I think she, the mayor, is
- 3:41Speaker 3: hurting Boston. The answer is yes, if somebody is doing
- 3:43Speaker 3: a bad job, and if I feel there's unsafe conditions,
- 3:46Speaker 3: I would call Giannini, the head of FIFA, who's phenomenal,
- 3:50Speaker 3: and I would say let's move it to another location. Now,
- 3:52Speaker 3: of course that's not physically possible, but again it is
- 3:56Speaker 3: simply a statement. So a word about the Argentinian president,
- 4:00Speaker 3: another ally of President Trump's, who is truly ally the
- 4:06Speaker 3: president could do no wrong. He can do no wrong
- 4:09Speaker 3: as far as the president is concerned. And Argentina just
- 4:12Speaker 3: got a twenty billion dollar bailout from the government. Okay,
- 4:16Speaker 3: I can't tell you the intricacies of that, but I
- 4:19Speaker 3: can tell you what's going on in Brazil. Brazil, the
- 4:25Speaker 3: president of Brazil is no friend of Donald Trump's. Okay,
- 4:35Speaker 3: Lula and he loved bol Scenario, who was tried and
- 4:39Speaker 3: convicted of or who has been convicted of corruption. Now
- 4:44Speaker 3: the president currently Lula, Lula de Silva was convicted of
- 4:49Speaker 3: corruption and spent four years in prison or two years
- 4:53Speaker 3: in prison, and that was overturned. So it's one corrupt
- 4:55Speaker 3: after another, corruption replaced by another corrupt individual. But here's
- 4:59Speaker 3: the point I want to make. It is as President
- 5:03Speaker 3: Trump argues in terms of tariffs, and he's absolutely right
- 5:09Speaker 3: in the vast majority of cases, and that is it's
- 5:12Speaker 3: about balance of trade.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's about just fairness.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So when we have a negative balance of trade, for example,
- 5:18Speaker 3: when China sells US five hundred billion dollars worth of
- 5:23Speaker 3: goods and we or we buy five hundred billion dollars
- 5:27Speaker 3: worth of goods but we only sell them two hundred billion,
- 5:29Speaker 3: there's a balance of there's an imbalance of trade. You're
- 5:33Speaker 3: always better off selling more than buying. That makes so
- 5:37Speaker 3: much stronger economy. And when it's unfair, it's unfair. So
- 5:41Speaker 3: with China, it's unfair. With the European market, it's unfair.
- 5:45Speaker 3: We simply buy more than we sell. And what Donald
- 5:47Speaker 3: Trump is doing saying, Okay, we're gonna make it fair.
- 5:50Speaker 3: We're gonna make it an even playing field, all right, tariffs,
- 5:53Speaker 3: That's what tariffs are all about, is to make it
- 5:56Speaker 3: as even playing field field as possible.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Let me tell you something about Brazil.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Brazil not only does not have a negative trade balance
- 6:06Speaker 3: with US, we.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Do better than Brazil does. Brazil is one of.
- 6:12Speaker 3: The very few countries that actually buy more from US
- 6:16Speaker 3: than we buy from them. We have a positive balance
- 6:20Speaker 3: of trade with Brazil. Why they still have a fifty
- 6:24Speaker 3: percent tariff? Why do you think because he does not
- 6:31Speaker 3: like the president and the guy who was thrown out polscenario,
- 6:35Speaker 3: who lost the election a rigged election, I might add,
- 6:38Speaker 3: that's the language that was used. It was a rigged
- 6:41Speaker 3: election in Brazil. Interesting, isn't it. And so that's what's
- 6:46Speaker 3: going on in that world. So now does the president
- 6:50Speaker 3: have the right to throw on a fifty percent tariff
- 6:53Speaker 3: of course he does, and in many cases is for
- 6:56Speaker 3: great reasons, and in this case with Brazil is ridiculously
- 7:00Speaker 3: and simply because he likes bols narrow.
- 7:01Speaker 2: That's it, you know, that's it. You know he said it.
- 7:06Speaker 3: And how about forcing the Olympics to be moved from
- 7:09Speaker 3: Los Angeles. Maybe I'll force the Olympics to be moved,
- 7:15Speaker 3: or I'll ask the mayor to undo the FIFA Games
- 7:19Speaker 3: World FIFA Games, or excuse me, I'll ask FIFA to
- 7:23Speaker 3: transfer the games out, which, by the way, I don't
- 7:25Speaker 3: think they can anyway, I mean, let's get practical about it,
- 7:28Speaker 3: and back to my original position. These are just throwaway lines.
- 7:32Speaker 3: A reporter throws something at the president. The president instead
- 7:35Speaker 3: of being measured, let me think about it, and hands
- 7:39Speaker 3: it off to a and hands off to one of
- 7:42Speaker 3: his staffers. Because presidents tend to be measured and very
- 7:45Speaker 3: careful in what they say and think things through sometimes
- 7:50Speaker 3: too slow, Biden.
- 7:52Speaker 2: But very few presidents.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Do what this president does, and that's just throw things
- 7:56Speaker 3: out and reporters though it. So there's a lot of
- 8:00Speaker 3: gotchats going on in the world of press conferences.
- 8:05Speaker 2: But the question is does he think he has the influence.
- 8:11Speaker 3: To have the US the International Olympic Committee, remove LA
- 8:19Speaker 3: and go someplace else.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Can they?
- 8:21Speaker 3: I don't think they can't, even contractually if they wanted to.
- 8:24Speaker 3: All Right, enough of that, Okay, what's going on on
- 8:27Speaker 3: the I five? And this is the I five goes
- 8:31Speaker 3: right next to the ocean and Camp Penalton is on
- 8:34Speaker 3: each side, and you're when you're going next to the ocean,
- 8:38Speaker 3: there's only a few hundred yards of beach between the freeway.
- 8:42Speaker 2: And the and the ocean, and it's kind of neat.
- 8:47Speaker 3: I've seen a couple of amphibious training exercises.
- 8:51Speaker 2: They are and you don't know what is happening. It's
- 8:53Speaker 2: just happenstance, man.
- 8:54Speaker 3: They look great with the helicopters and the hovercraft and ah,
- 8:58Speaker 3: it's just tremendous. Well, there's going to be a big
- 9:01Speaker 3: one coming up to commemorate the Marine Corps two hundred
- 9:05Speaker 3: and fiftieth anniversary and it's being called See to Shore,
- 9:10Speaker 3: a Review of Amphibious Strength, and Vice President Vance is
- 9:14Speaker 3: going to be there and this is going to be
- 9:17Speaker 3: a big one. One of things about the Trump administration
- 9:21Speaker 3: is they are not shy about showing American fighting force,
- 9:27Speaker 3: not shy at all. This is an administration that is
- 9:30Speaker 3: proud of its ability to fight, proud of its armed services,
- 9:35Speaker 3: and we're going to show you that we're going to
- 9:38Speaker 3: do it well. Obviously, there's all kinds of controversy because
- 9:42Speaker 3: we've got a governor, the governor's administration that doesn't particularly
- 9:48Speaker 3: like the Trump administration and is saying, wait a minute,
- 9:52Speaker 3: we've heard that there are going to be live exercises,
- 9:55Speaker 3: live fire. Okay, then you just shut down the freeway
- 9:58Speaker 3: and it becomes part and part soul of the event
- 10:02Speaker 3: or the argument here or the stories is that the
- 10:06Speaker 3: freeway is still going to continue on and there will
- 10:08Speaker 3: be live fire over the freeway, as in attacking the
- 10:13Speaker 3: amphibious forces coming in with live fire.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Now, are they going to hit anybody? Of course not.
- 10:18Speaker 2: That's not the point.
- 10:19Speaker 3: The point is is that the governor is so pissed off, saying,
- 10:24Speaker 3: how can you possibly do this on our beaches. By
- 10:28Speaker 3: the way, Camp Pendleton is a federal property. How can
- 10:30Speaker 3: you do this and allow people to go through? Well,
- 10:35Speaker 3: we're talking about shutting down.
- 10:37Speaker 2: We don't know. It may be closed.
- 10:39Speaker 3: It may be closed by the federal government and may
- 10:42Speaker 3: be closed by the state.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Government.
- 10:44Speaker 3: We have absolutely no idea, but there will be a
- 10:50Speaker 3: huge show of force that we know.
- 10:52Speaker 2: It's kind of neat.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I don't know if you've ever seen it, As I told you,
- 10:54Speaker 3: it's really neat to see that.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I've lived out here forever and passed by Pendleton one
- 10:59Speaker 1: thousand times.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Doesn't don't they have.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Signs that always say that there's possibility of live fire?
- 11:05Speaker 1: You know what?
- 11:06Speaker 2: I've ever noticed that? Yeah, I've never noticed that. I've
- 11:10Speaker 2: never noticed that.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and brother graduated there at Pendleton as a marine,
- 11:15Speaker 1: and I remember driving back and forth. There's signs on
- 11:18Speaker 1: those beaches everywhere that say caution live fire drills.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Okay, how do you caution against live fire? Droves explain
- 11:27Speaker 2: that just don't don't go onto the beach. It doesn't
- 11:30Speaker 2: say don't look at you.
- 11:31Speaker 3: You're not allowed on the beach anyway, are you?
- 11:34Speaker 1: No?
- 11:34Speaker 2: But are you allowed onto a Pendleton beach?
- 11:37Speaker 1: No? But you're not allowed in area fifty one. It
- 11:39Speaker 1: doesn't mean there isn't people that try and get in
- 11:41Speaker 1: there every year. But but there are signs all over there,
- 11:46Speaker 1: Okay that I don't remember seeing it.
- 11:49Speaker 3: The one thing I do remember, I've seen a couple
- 11:51Speaker 3: of exercises, and they are neat to see that they
- 11:54Speaker 3: really are.
- 11:56Speaker 2: So in any case, we'll see what happens with this.
- 12:00Speaker 3: And it's going to coincide with No King demonstration or
- 12:05Speaker 3: No Kings demonstration on Saturday, demonstrations all over the country,
- 12:10Speaker 3: the anti Trump administration demonstration.
- 12:13Speaker 2: The demonstration is saying that they're.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Over the government is overreaching of course when it comes
- 12:17Speaker 3: to immigration and all the stuff that people have a
- 12:20Speaker 3: problem with. So we're going to have a dual demonstration.
- 12:24Speaker 3: So who's gonna win. Are the demonstrators going to win
- 12:28Speaker 3: or are the guys who have artillery pieces, helicopters, tanks
- 12:34Speaker 3: and armed infantry.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Who do you think is going to win that battle?
- 12:38Speaker 2: I mean, they're not gonna fight.
- 12:39Speaker 3: But it's a it's a fun visual, it really is,
- 12:42Speaker 3: all right now, Oh this is another one.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Oh god, I love politics, all right.
- 12:47Speaker 3: There were some leak messages from young Republican leaders, and
- 12:52Speaker 3: these messages included this is political, pick this up, racist slurs,
- 12:56Speaker 3: rape jokes, gas chamber commentaries, and man, you've got politicians
- 13:03Speaker 3: on both sides of the aisle going nuts and calling
- 13:07Speaker 3: for those who were engaged in these slurs and commentary
- 13:12Speaker 3: just to resign.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Well, the VP jd Vance dismissed it.
- 13:18Speaker 3: You're just doing pearl clutching that these participants were just
- 13:22Speaker 3: kids telling stupid jokes and that shouldn't ruin their lives,
- 13:26Speaker 3: one of the kids being Vermont state Senator Sam Douglas,
- 13:29Speaker 3: who happens to be a very young sixty nine. So
- 13:32Speaker 3: it was just kids doing this, mind you. And this
- 13:35Speaker 3: is the Young Republicans National Federation, the GOP's political organization
- 13:40Speaker 3: for Republicans between eighteen and forty and other people in
- 13:45Speaker 3: this case, for example, Sam Douglas was in on the
- 13:48Speaker 3: chat and the group described the exchanges as unbecoming of
- 13:57Speaker 3: any Republican. The official group is saying, come on, this
- 14:00Speaker 3: is ridiculous, and there were months of exchange of this
- 14:04Speaker 3: crazy stuff that Politico picked up. Now Here is the problem,
- 14:11Speaker 3: and that is Vance immediately comes out and rips into
- 14:17Speaker 3: the one interview that was said by I think a
- 14:22Speaker 3: a Democrat about somehow two shots should be put in
- 14:26Speaker 3: someone's head, you know, an assassination, and he said, that's
- 14:31Speaker 3: the problem, not kids making jokes about the Holocaust or rape.
- 14:37Speaker 3: That's the problem. Guys like this, which is far far
- 14:40Speaker 3: more dangerous. You know what, why can't you call for
- 14:44Speaker 3: the resignation of both sides on that? Why can't you
- 14:49Speaker 3: simply say both are reprehensible? And you can't advocate or
- 14:55Speaker 3: say it's a good thing that Charlie Kirk was killed.
- 14:59Speaker 2: You can say you disagree with Charlie Kirk.
- 15:01Speaker 3: You can certainly say the world has changed because Charlie
- 15:04Speaker 3: Kirk was killed. But to say that's a good thing,
- 15:06Speaker 3: if you're a politician, I'm gonna argue you're done with that,
- 15:09Speaker 3: You're gone.
- 15:11Speaker 2: And the same thing with anybody who says and.
- 15:14Speaker 3: These were open chats, Holocaust jokes and rape commentary, and
- 15:20Speaker 3: I mean just such offensive stuff. Vance does not want
- 15:25Speaker 3: those people to resign. That was just jokes among young people.
- 15:30Speaker 3: So according to Vance, it doesn't matter what a Republican says,
- 15:35Speaker 3: it does not matter. There will be no retribution, there
- 15:40Speaker 3: will be no accountability. If the Democrats say it, it's
- 15:43Speaker 3: all over. They've got to go. They've got to go.
- 15:47Speaker 3: And you know, when we talk about polarity, even that
- 15:52Speaker 3: even people talking about and joking about the Holocaust and
- 15:56Speaker 3: rape and lynching. I don't know if lynching even took
- 16:00Speaker 3: place in this conversation, But no, no, we don't resign
- 16:04Speaker 3: for that because those are just ah shucks, just kids.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It's just kids having a good time. I've really gotten there.
- 16:12Speaker 3: And by the way, on both sides of the aisle,
- 16:15Speaker 3: I mean politicians who in my opinion, actually have a
- 16:19Speaker 3: decent view of what this country is about. Both sides
- 16:23Speaker 3: were screaming, they've got to go. You cannot have this,
- 16:27Speaker 3: you cannot have this, and here we go. He reiterated
- 16:34Speaker 3: about the kids. This is on Wednesday Vance and on
- 16:38Speaker 3: the Charlie Kirk Show podcast, which I think is run
- 16:41Speaker 3: by Charlie Kirks, Charlie Kirk's wife. I think she's handling
- 16:45Speaker 3: the podcast and other conservatives are coming in and taking
- 16:48Speaker 3: turns doing the podcast. And he was asked about the
- 16:52Speaker 3: reporting that a person seriously wishing for political violence and
- 16:56Speaker 3: political assassination is one thousand times worse than what a
- 17:01Speaker 3: bunch of young people, a bunch of kids say in
- 17:04Speaker 3: a group chat. You know, when I say we've gone crazy,
- 17:13Speaker 3: when I say politics has gone absolutely nuts, I mean it.
- 17:17Speaker 3: And that's all the way up up, that's up the
- 17:19Speaker 3: ladder to the very highest reaches of our government.
- 17:23Speaker 2: It's all crazy.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Pritzker, who absolutely disagrees with the president. So the President
- 17:30Speaker 3: doesn't come back and say Pritzker is nuts. Well he does,
- 17:33Speaker 3: you know, And I am I'm okay with that. I mean,
- 17:35Speaker 3: I like, thank frankly Donald Trump getting to our level
- 17:39Speaker 3: and being real. The guy's a jerk, the guy's an ass.
- 17:42Speaker 3: But how about the guy should be arrested. We should
- 17:46Speaker 3: arrest him for what he's doing.
- 17:48Speaker 2: You know what. And I'm saying, this is the president,
- 17:51Speaker 2: you know what, have some balls? Have some balls? Call
- 17:54Speaker 2: cash Pttel call him.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Right now, get on the phone and say, you go
- 17:58Speaker 3: arrest Pritzker, and you argue that he has violated some
- 18:03Speaker 3: kind of federal law, and you go handcuff him right now,
- 18:10Speaker 3: you gutless wonder.
- 18:13Speaker 2: You say he should be arrested. Then do it? All right?
- 18:20Speaker 2: Oh all right? Let me tell you what used to happen.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I think if you did any traveling decades ago, and
- 18:29Speaker 3: when I started traveling in my twenties and through my
- 18:32Speaker 3: thirties and my forties, even my fifties. Now I'm one
- 18:36Speaker 3: hundred and thirty years old, I was told many times
- 18:40Speaker 3: that that American passport that you hold is the most
- 18:43Speaker 3: valuable passport on earth. And why is that well, because,
- 18:49Speaker 3: first of all, the most countries in the world that
- 18:52Speaker 3: allow you to come in without a visa was the
- 18:54Speaker 3: American passport. The countries that accepted and wanted to a
- 18:59Speaker 3: Mariamericans in more than any other country in the world.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And so we've sort of gone down. The Henley Passport Index,
- 19:10Speaker 3: which of course no one knows what they hell that is,
- 19:12Speaker 3: has rankings measuring passport potency in this regard the number
- 19:18Speaker 3: of countries that let you in without a visa. Countries
- 19:21Speaker 3: will let you in without a visa, are countries that
- 19:23Speaker 3: want you in, and that is a part of this index. Okay,
- 19:29Speaker 3: for the first time in twenty years, we're out of
- 19:32Speaker 3: the top ten. Three Asian passports now command the top
- 19:36Speaker 3: Singapore one hundred and ninety three destinations worldwide visa free,
- 19:41Speaker 3: and then South Korea and then Japan.
- 19:44Speaker 2: We're now down to twelfth place.
- 19:47Speaker 3: We were number one even as late as twenty fourteen,
- 19:53Speaker 3: where the American passport was worth everything. The American passport
- 19:57Speaker 3: was worth real, real money back in the day. I
- 20:03Speaker 3: mean people, what you were told is you hang on
- 20:07Speaker 3: to your money, your wallet, and your passport, with your
- 20:11Speaker 3: passport being the most valuable thing that you had on
- 20:15Speaker 3: you if you were traveling overseas, and so now it's
- 20:21Speaker 3: just access changes.
- 20:23Speaker 2: In April, Brazil withdrew the visa.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Free access for citizens from the US, Canada, Australia. Because
- 20:30Speaker 3: of reciprocity, China has been introducing more welcoming policies. It
- 20:35Speaker 3: used to be impossible to go into China. Now, man,
- 20:38Speaker 3: they want everybody in there except the US citizens. We
- 20:43Speaker 3: still need a visa and it's not that easy to
- 20:46Speaker 3: get in Papua New Guinea and me and mar they're
- 20:53Speaker 3: higher than we are. Somalia, okay, Somalia is a launch
- 21:00Speaker 3: of a new eVisa system and Vietnam's exclusion of the

- 22:40Speaker 3: passport issue. I mean, there's no country that gives me
- 22:43Speaker 3: we need a visa with flying to Germany, who fly
- 22:45Speaker 3: into France with fly into the UK internative passport other countries. Yeah,
