Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, this is The Mark Simone Show on 710WOR.
- 0:05Speaker 2: All right, hang on. We're not really ready yet. We
- 0:16Speaker 2: had a little studio crisis here. All right, I think
- 0:21Speaker 2: we're all set. So, yeah, we couldn't get the studio
- 0:24Speaker 2: out of here. All right. this is it. I use
- 0:28Speaker 2: a separate studio from everybody else. And whatever happens on
- 0:31Speaker 2: the weekend here, sometimes you come in and it's all, uh,
- 0:34Speaker 2: screwed up. So, uh, we've got everything. Everything sounds good.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Now I can hear myself. Uh, we got a lot
- 0:40Speaker 2: to get to. We'll get to Maria Bartiromo. What the
- 0:42Speaker 2: hell happened there? We'll get to, uh, Iran. What's going to,
- 0:46Speaker 2: what's going on there. We'll get to Canada. The big
- 0:50Speaker 2: battle with Canada. Now you're going to, if you watch MSNBC, uh,
- 0:56Speaker 2: all morning, it's, uh, This terrible fight with Canada, how
- 1:00Speaker 2: it's affecting Americans. Well, if your house is buying bombardier jets,
- 1:07Speaker 2: it might affect you. But otherwise, I don't really think
- 1:10Speaker 2: it's happening. You really don't buy much of anything from Canada.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And it's just going to be a little, a totally
- 1:18Speaker 2: unnoticeable thing. It's like when you watch CNN or MSNBC.
- 1:22Speaker 2: you'll see this big dramatic, the Iran war. It's not
- 1:26Speaker 2: really a war. I mean, there was a war a
- 1:29Speaker 2: few months ago for a couple of weeks, but this
- 1:31Speaker 2: is just little skirmishes, occasional firing a missile here, and
- 1:34Speaker 2: they wouldn't call this a war. I don't know what
- 1:36Speaker 2: the hell you'd call it. It's a weird situation, but
- 1:40Speaker 2: it's not, you know, and if you look at these studies,
- 1:42Speaker 2: focus group surveys, most Americans paying absolutely no attention to
- 1:48Speaker 2: this Boy, you see so much false reporting all the time.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Here's a great example. President Trump is not coming to
- 1:59Speaker 2: Ground Zero for 9-11. And you remember the New York
- 2:05Speaker 2: Times was the first to report the reason he's not
- 2:08Speaker 2: coming is they won't let him speak. So he's decided
- 2:12Speaker 2: not to come. Well, that's a hell of a story.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Now it turns out it's the fakest news ever from
- 2:17Speaker 2: the New York Times from this idiot Maggie Haberman who
- 2:20Speaker 2: just makes up crap all the time. Now, they don't
- 2:23Speaker 2: have speeches at the 9-11 ceremony. And Donald Trump has
- 2:26Speaker 2: gone to that ceremony dozens of times. He knows there's
- 2:29Speaker 2: no such thing as speeches. Nobody speaks. Only the family speaks.
- 2:33Speaker 2: The families speak and they read the names. No politicians
- 2:38Speaker 2: speak there. They used to do it the first couple
- 2:40Speaker 2: of years. I think it was about 2010, they decided
- 2:43Speaker 2: no politicians will ever speak here again on 9-11. So
- 2:46Speaker 2: he knew that. Just totally fake, ridiculous story. You know,
- 2:51Speaker 2: he was going to close the Kennedy Center for two years,
- 2:56Speaker 2: and all of the fake news, the networks and CNN
- 2:58Speaker 2: and MSNBC said, he's claiming it needs to be rebuilt.
- 3:04Speaker 2: He just wants to rebuild. He's claiming there's nothing wrong
- 3:08Speaker 2: with the Kennedy Center. Well, Over the weekend, Friday night,
- 3:13Speaker 2: it rained hard in Washington, D.C., and part of the
- 3:17Speaker 2: ceiling collapsed in the Kennedy Center. As we told you
- 3:20Speaker 2: last week, the big problem with the Kennedy Center, the
- 3:23Speaker 2: reason it's so horribly damaged inside, it's what they call
- 3:28Speaker 2: water intrusion. The way it was built through the years,
- 3:31Speaker 2: they just kept adding on and adding on and adding on,
- 3:35Speaker 2: and all the pipes weren't attached seamlessly, so there have
- 3:39Speaker 2: been so many leaks and pipe bursts that the whole
- 3:42Speaker 2: thing is crumbling mold. The whole, it's one of these
- 3:46Speaker 2: situations where you got to literally gut the whole place
- 3:48Speaker 2: and start over. But when he said that, you know,
- 3:51Speaker 2: the media telling you he's lying, he's claiming that, well,
- 3:55Speaker 2: a big chunk of the ceiling collapsed. Luckily it was
- 3:59Speaker 2: closed and nobody was there. And where the ceiling fell
- 4:02Speaker 2: is right in the lobby where everybody would be walking
- 4:06Speaker 2: in and out. So you would have had a lot
- 4:07Speaker 2: of injury or, Who knows what? But look at my Twitter.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You'll see a picture of a... There's a big hole
- 4:14Speaker 2: in the ceiling. It just collapsed from the rain. Luckily, again,
- 4:18Speaker 2: as I say, it was closed. No one was injured.
- 4:22Speaker 2: In Russia, Putin had meetings with Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.
- 4:28Speaker 2: These are the president's two chief negotiators. Now, some argue,
- 4:31Speaker 2: you know, you should have more foreign policy guys do
- 4:34Speaker 2: these negotiations, not these New York real estate guys. What
- 4:38Speaker 2: do they know about... foreign leaders, foreign policy. Well, uh,
- 4:44Speaker 2: Kissinger used to tell Trump, don't use the state department.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Don't use these foreign policy guys. And he used to
- 4:50Speaker 2: tell him these idiots with their briefing books, don't know
- 4:53Speaker 2: a damn thing. So, and it's true. They're just bureaucrats.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I mean, these guys are, they may just be New
- 5:00Speaker 2: York real estate guys, but they're doing billion dollar deals. They're, uh,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you know, they're getting things done. They can't, uh, Do
- 5:06Speaker 2: what State Department guys do. Take 14 years to negotiate something.
- 5:09Speaker 2: They got to do it in a couple of days.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So they were over there negotiating with Putin, which is
- 5:14Speaker 2: like negotiating with Iran. No matter what agreement you get,
- 5:18Speaker 2: nobody's going to stick to it. So I don't know
- 5:19Speaker 2: what the point is. You know, the difference with these guys,
- 5:23Speaker 2: these guys are business negotiators and you're negotiating with another
- 5:27Speaker 2: business that has to make money. So they basically got
- 5:29Speaker 2: to follow through. But if you're Iran or you're Putin,
- 5:32Speaker 2: you're just nuts. You're a lunatic, a violent, crazy lunatic.
- 5:35Speaker 2: You don't have to follow any agreement. But Witkoff doing
- 5:40Speaker 2: a few shows to talk about these negotiations. Can we
- 5:44Speaker 2: get the next gen? Let's try it now. Witkoff talking
- 5:49Speaker 2: about these negotiations. No, it's still. Let me see. Can
- 5:54Speaker 2: we do it now? Nope, no audio, sorry. Studio completely
- 6:03Speaker 2: messed up by whoever was here on the weekends. Let
- 6:07Speaker 2: me know if you ever get it. So what was
- 6:10Speaker 2: the point of all this? Oh, so Witkoff and Kushner
- 6:14Speaker 2: coming back. I don't know. You know, the other problem
- 6:16Speaker 2: with Putin is approval ratings. You see this? Approval ratings
- 6:19Speaker 2: have sunk so low. Now, if you're a politician in
- 6:23Speaker 2: this country, that could be a problem. That could be
- 6:26Speaker 2: a big problem. If you're Putin, it doesn't matter. Anybody
- 6:29Speaker 2: runs against you, just shoot him. You just kill him.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It's a different election system over there. So you really
- 6:34Speaker 2: don't have to worry too much about approval ratings. But
- 6:36Speaker 2: they think he might be looking for a way out
- 6:40Speaker 2: of Ukraine. He's getting killed and slaughtered in Ukraine. Nobody
- 6:45Speaker 2: ever thought they'd live to see this.
- 6:47Speaker 3: But.
- 6:50Speaker 2: You got to give Zelensky, Ukraine credit. They really turned
- 6:54Speaker 2: things around. They learned how to build missiles. They learned
- 6:56Speaker 2: how to build drones. They built their own factories. They're
- 6:59Speaker 2: turning them out like crazy. They have, you know, Russia
- 7:02Speaker 2: was supposed to be the superpower. Ukraine has a lot
- 7:04Speaker 2: more missiles, a lot more firepower and a lot more drones.
- 7:08Speaker 2: And they've been pushing Russia back, not just holding them,
- 7:11Speaker 2: but pushing them back. They've killed, I think, something like
- 7:14Speaker 2: 100,000 Russian soldiers in the last couple of months. So
- 7:18Speaker 2: Putin's got a real problem. So that's why they're over
- 7:20Speaker 2: there negotiating now. They just think maybe he's looking for
- 7:24Speaker 2: an exit ramp from this mess. Now, of course, he
- 7:26Speaker 2: would start up again in a year or two. But
- 7:30Speaker 2: we'll see if they come through with anything. Maria Bartiromo,
- 7:35Speaker 2: what the hell happened there? Well, it's been a rocky relationship,
- 7:42Speaker 2: Maria Bartiromo and Putin. Fox, and before that with CNBC,
- 7:47Speaker 2: you know, she ended up leaving there. Now, sometimes she
- 7:53Speaker 2: gets into a little too much controversy, you know, like election, this,
- 7:56Speaker 2: remember with Dominion, election tamper, she jumped into that a
- 8:02Speaker 2: little too much. There was an incident a couple of
- 8:04Speaker 2: months ago where Kevin O'Leary was on, making all kinds
- 8:06Speaker 2: of claims about China, and then Fox had to issue
- 8:09Speaker 2: 12 different apologies, so it She was always pushing the
- 8:14Speaker 2: envelope a little too much on certain things. And, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 2: she didn't have the highest ratings in the world. In fact,
- 8:21Speaker 2: the show averaged about 120,000 viewers. That's not a lot.
- 8:26Speaker 2: You know, there's other shows on the network that do much,
- 8:29Speaker 2: much more than that. So it was a tricky situation.
- 8:34Speaker 2: So she's now being accused of, the word is that
- 8:39Speaker 2: she leaked out memos to the White House. And that
- 8:43Speaker 2: she leaked them to Peter Navarro, who's a very nice guy.
- 8:47Speaker 2: But that's the last guy I'd pick to keep a
- 8:48Speaker 2: secret about anything. That's the last guy I'd... If I
- 8:53Speaker 2: had to pick somebody to be really discreet, I don't
- 8:55Speaker 2: think he'd be my first choice. So apparently word got
- 8:58Speaker 2: out she's not there anymore. But Fox Business doing very, very,
- 9:02Speaker 2: very well. Just crushing CNBC around the clock. Big shows there.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Varney does real well. Uh, all the evening edit is
- 9:11Speaker 2: getting big numbers now. And the biggest show of all
- 9:13Speaker 2: in the history of business television, Kudlow is just killing
- 9:17Speaker 2: it every day. So they're doing better than ever. Uh,
- 9:20Speaker 2: actually I'll be on Kudlow, uh, later today, four to
- 9:23Speaker 2: five on the Fox business network. Uh, mom, Donnie, well,
- 9:29Speaker 2: nine 11 ceremonies are Friday. He's planning to go. Uh,
- 9:35Speaker 2: it seemed like, uh, It was just not appropriate to
- 9:40Speaker 2: have him there. I mean, this vicious anti-Semite, this guy
- 9:44Speaker 2: who seems to always be supporting terrorists or terrorist lawyers
- 9:50Speaker 2: or anybody on that side. The families don't want him there.
- 9:55Speaker 2: They had a petition to keep him out. Hundred thousand
- 9:58Speaker 2: signatures now. Buddy still going. Why? Well, does he feel
- 10:03Speaker 2: it's just the right thing to do to be there,
- 10:06Speaker 2: that it's important for the mayor to be there? No,
- 10:08Speaker 2: I don't think that's it. Late last week, there was
- 10:12Speaker 2: a ceremony where he signed a bill. I forget what that,
- 10:15Speaker 2: the bill was something to do with 9-11. increasing security,
- 10:20Speaker 2: increasing terrorist watch, increasing terrorist tests, something like that. He
- 10:25Speaker 2: signs the bill, and there's about 42 people standing there. And,
- 10:31Speaker 2: you know, when the president signs a bill, he uses
- 10:33Speaker 2: a few different pens, and then he hands the pens
- 10:37Speaker 2: to certain people because it's a great souvenir of the
- 10:40Speaker 2: president signing that bill. Now, for Mamdani to think anybody
- 10:46Speaker 2: wants a pen from him. You ever see those Trump pens?
- 10:51Speaker 2: The most beautiful pens. He had them specially made with
- 10:55Speaker 2: the White House logo, with the president's signature. Unbelievable. So
- 11:01Speaker 2: people display that. They build a case for it. They
- 11:04Speaker 2: show it to people. Look at this. Here's the president
- 11:05Speaker 2: of the United States. This is the pen he signed
- 11:07Speaker 2: the big, beautiful bill with. It's very impressive. But could
- 11:11Speaker 2: you picture anybody holding up a crappy little pen saying, hey,
- 11:14Speaker 2: this was Mom Donnie's pen. What an ego on this
- 11:17Speaker 2: guy to think anybody would want a pen from him
- 11:20Speaker 2: signing a bill. But the key to this is there's
- 11:25Speaker 2: like 42 people standing there. He could hand it to
- 11:28Speaker 2: the police commissioner. Well, that would have been the most
- 11:30Speaker 2: appropriate one. He could hand it to somebody. But he
- 11:34Speaker 2: does hand it to the police commissioner. He says, pass
- 11:36Speaker 2: it on to him. And he points to the lawyer
- 11:38Speaker 2: for the terrorists. The 9-11 Al-Qaeda type terrorists, he's the lawyer.
- 11:44Speaker 2: He defended a few of these Al-Qaeda guys. He hands
- 11:48Speaker 2: the pen to him, which indicates this is all an
- 11:52Speaker 2: attack on us. He's on the other side when it
- 11:56Speaker 2: comes to 9-11. He's against the families. That's why he's going,
- 12:00Speaker 2: just to cause trouble. I wouldn't have said this last week,
- 12:03Speaker 2: but when he handed the pen, you got all these
- 12:06Speaker 2: people standing there you give that pen to. He gives
- 12:08Speaker 2: it to the terrorist representative. What does that tell you?
- 12:13Speaker 2: There you go. He really is on the other side
- 12:16Speaker 2: when it comes to 9-11. He feels they're the victims
- 12:20Speaker 2: of 9-11. He feels they were justified somehow. Why else
- 12:24Speaker 2: would you give it to their lawyer? And again, look,
- 12:28Speaker 2: the lawyer's not even standing next to him. It has
- 12:30Speaker 2: to be passed down because the lawyer's so far away.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Why would you look at all these people and say,
- 12:34Speaker 2: give it to him, the 9-11 terrorist Al-Qaeda lawyer. Give
- 12:39Speaker 2: it to him. That tells you what he's really, really
- 12:42Speaker 2: up to. Oh, we got the sound fixed. Steve Witkoff,
- 12:44Speaker 2: back from meeting with Putin. We came to see President
- 12:47Speaker 2: Putin first. We needed to hear where he stood. We
- 12:51Speaker 2: had good concrete. We waited five minutes for that. Not
- 12:53Speaker 2: that exciting. How about Jared Kushner? You ever hear Kushner talk?
- 12:57Speaker 4: There is a pathway. There is a dialogue. And it's
- 13:01Speaker 4: a really hard problem. I mean, this is a war
- 13:04Speaker 4: that started before Putin. Obviously, President Trump took office, but
- 13:08Speaker 4: he seems.
- 13:08Speaker 2: To— Yeah, I don't know if that's the guy you
- 13:09Speaker 2: should send. You know, Putin's like a vicious, murderous, unbelievable
- 13:13Speaker 2: world dictator, killer, murderer. And you send this guy to
- 13:16Speaker 2: talk like this to him. I don't know. It might
- 13:18Speaker 2: not be the right guy. Might not be the right choice. Iran, well,
- 13:23Speaker 2: there was a few. They fired at a ship or two.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I think two ships they fired at. So we took
- 13:29Speaker 2: out three of their ships, three big tankers. We just
- 13:31Speaker 2: blew them right out of the water. We were very
- 13:34Speaker 2: nice about it, actually. quite nice about it we actually
- 13:38Speaker 2: uh broadcast with a big loudspeaker a huge announcement to
- 13:43Speaker 2: the tanker they flew low over the tanker and said
- 13:44Speaker 2: get off the ship abandon your ship it's about to
- 13:47Speaker 2: be blown up uh i assume they did it in
- 13:51Speaker 2: the right language so these people could understand it but
- 13:53Speaker 2: they told everybody abandon the ship it's about to be
- 13:56Speaker 2: blown up they waited a few minutes for and some
- 13:59Speaker 2: people did abandon the ship and then they just blew
- 14:01Speaker 2: up three tankers uh they let iran know anytime you
- 14:05Speaker 2: hit a ship, we're going to take out three of yours.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And they'll keep increasing that ratio. You take out one,
- 14:11Speaker 2: we'll take out 10, that kind of stuff. I don't
- 14:13Speaker 2: know if these lunatics care. But a tanker is a
- 14:16Speaker 2: couple million bucks. It might have had oil on it.
- 14:19Speaker 2: That's another couple million. So if you take out three
- 14:22Speaker 2: of them, you probably cost them 12, 15 million bucks.
- 14:26Speaker 2: And the good news is they think Iran has got
- 14:29Speaker 2: about two months left Before it totally collapses. They think
- 14:34Speaker 2: it has about two months of oil left. We've cut
- 14:38Speaker 2: off their... We use the Strait of Hormuz. We've got
- 14:41Speaker 2: tankers coming and going out of the Strait of Hormuz.
- 14:45Speaker 2: In fact, we're doing about 8 million barrels a day
- 14:47Speaker 2: through there. We think some days it's up to maybe
- 14:52Speaker 2: 15 million. Pre-war, it was 20 million a day. But
- 14:55Speaker 2: we've cut off the Strait of Hormuz from Iran. We've
- 15:00Speaker 2: cut off their other routes to get oil in and out.
- 15:03Speaker 2: And it's believed now they're down to just the last
- 15:06Speaker 2: two months of fuel. And when that goes, a lot
- 15:11Speaker 2: of things are going to happen. Right now, there are
- 15:13Speaker 2: gas lines that go for like 10 blocks in Iran.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Inflation is at 90%. Once they run out of fuel,
- 15:20Speaker 2: things could change dramatically. Hey, we mentioned Maria Bartiromo. Ever
- 15:24Speaker 2: watch CNBC? Anybody watch that anymore? A couple of great
- 15:28Speaker 2: guys there. Joe Kernan's a great guy. And Rick Santelli, well,
- 15:32Speaker 2: he announced he's retiring. Been there since 1999, 26 years. October,
- 15:37Speaker 2: he'll retire. And look at this, Channel 4 at WNBC,
- 15:42Speaker 2: Sarah Wallace, the great investigative reporter, she's retiring. She didn't
- 15:46Speaker 2: know it, but they told her you're retiring. It's been
- 15:50Speaker 2: there 11 years. But remember, before that, she was at
- 15:54Speaker 2: Channel 7 for like three decades. So she's been on
- 15:56Speaker 2: the air for many years in New York. She's very good.
- 15:59Speaker 2: She was told, yes, she was told she's decided to retire.
- 16:04Speaker 2: She's not retiring. She's looking for a new outlet. She'll
- 16:07Speaker 2: find one. She's very good. WNBC General Manager Eric Lerner said,
- 16:13Speaker 2: the move was very difficult, but it was necessary after
- 16:18Speaker 2: we looked at our long-term financial planning, which means they're
- 16:21Speaker 2: losing a hell of a lot of money at Channel 4.
- 16:23Speaker 2: You got to remember when it comes to the local news,
- 16:26Speaker 2: millions of people used to watch the 6 o'clock news.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Millions of people used to watch the 11 o'clock news.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And if you were Roger Grimsby or Ernie Anastas or
- 16:36Speaker 2: those guys, you know, Warner Wolf back in the big
- 16:38Speaker 2: days of local news, you were getting paid a fortune.
- 16:40Speaker 2: They were getting millions of dollars, these anchors. Well, now,
- 16:45Speaker 2: everything's different. Nobody watches primetime. Nobody watches network TV. Nobody
- 16:49Speaker 2: watches local TV. I mean, they watch, but it's way,
- 16:52Speaker 2: way down. You're lucky if you've got 200,000 viewers. So
- 16:54Speaker 2: it's like, One-tenth the viewers you used to have. And
- 16:57Speaker 2: the salaries had to come down a lot. That's why
- 17:00Speaker 2: you see a lot of big anchors that all of
- 17:01Speaker 2: a sudden weren't there anymore. They're just not going to
- 17:03Speaker 2: pay anybody anymore. So they get rid of them. They
- 17:06Speaker 2: hire new, young, cheap anchors. Local TV dying. Network TV dying.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Radio actually not dying despite what you hear. More people
- 17:17Speaker 2: listen to the radio today than 20 years ago. Radio
- 17:20Speaker 2: listening at an all-time high. Even AM talk radio, 63
- 17:23Speaker 2: million people. Listen to AM Talk Radio every day. Anyway,
- 17:28Speaker 2: we've got a lot to get to, so don't go away.
- 17:31Speaker 2: It's 9 to noon now, three hours every day, 9
- 17:35Speaker 2: to noon every day. Hey, we'll get to the ballroom.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Interesting developments there and more. It's Mark Simone, 9 to
- 17:41Speaker 2: noon on 710WOR.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios, The Mark Simone Show.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I was about to say it's Monday. It's Tuesday. Yeah,
- 17:58Speaker 2: don't forget it's Tuesday today. And it's after Labor Day. Now,
- 18:02Speaker 2: this is a scary time for people here in New
- 18:04Speaker 2: York because as soon as it's Labor Day, it's a
- 18:06Speaker 2: day that people think we're all going to be in
- 18:07Speaker 2: igloos and floating on an iceberg or something. It's still
- 18:12Speaker 2: summer for a couple of weeks. Look at this. They
- 18:15Speaker 2: get these messages. How was your summer? It's not over yet.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Summer goes for like another two weeks. three weeks. I
- 18:23Speaker 2: don't know if I'll find the date, but it's still summer.
- 18:27Speaker 2: It's going to be in the eighties today. It's going
- 18:29Speaker 2: to be sunny. It's going to be sunny all week.
- 18:31Speaker 2: It's going to be eighties. It's still summer. And you're
- 18:35Speaker 2: not a kid. You're not that you don't have to
- 18:36Speaker 2: go back to school. What are you? Nothing changes. I mean,
- 18:39Speaker 2: you got a few days off labor day weekend, but
- 18:41Speaker 2: it's still summer. Still fine. Uh, we got her. Okay.
- 18:46Speaker 2: We're getting the studio repaired from, uh, Whatever happened here
- 18:50Speaker 2: over the weekend, we got sound now. We got audio.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I was talking about Mamdani for his 9-11 nonsense. Mamdani
- 18:58Speaker 2: handing the pen to the terrorist lawyer to honor this guy,
- 19:03Speaker 2: of all people. But he's going to the 9-11 ceremony.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Here he is.
- 19:08Speaker 5: I'm proud to be the mayor of this city.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I love this city. I love this country.
- 19:12Speaker 5: And what I want this week to be a focus
- 19:15Speaker 5: on is on the families whose loved ones were stolen
- 19:18Speaker 5: from them 25 years ago in the horrific act of
- 19:21Speaker 5: terror of September 11th. And a focus also on the
- 19:24Speaker 5: first responders who gave everything they could to this city
- 19:27Speaker 5: and to the people who came together to try and
- 19:29Speaker 5: help their fellow New Yorkers. And so in the days
- 19:31Speaker 5: to come, my focus will be on attending events that
- 19:34Speaker 5: memorializes that incredible courage. And I will be there on
- 19:37Speaker 5: Friday at the memorial just as I was last year.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Now you might be saying, what's all that noise? Was
- 19:42Speaker 2: that recorded at the parade? That's fighting and gunfire and
- 19:45Speaker 2: stuff in the background at that parade. But yeah, he's
- 19:49Speaker 2: there to honor the future. Now we know from him
- 19:51Speaker 2: handing the pen to the terrorist lawyer that the last
- 19:56Speaker 2: thing on earth he really wants to do is honor
- 19:57Speaker 2: the families. Because why didn't he invite some of the
- 20:00Speaker 2: families to the signing of this 9-11 legislation? Why did
- 20:05Speaker 2: he hand the pen to the terrorist lawyer? Well, that's...
- 20:08Speaker 2: sending a signal to his base. Now, Rudy Giuliani, we
- 20:13Speaker 2: heard from him. He responds.
- 20:14Speaker 6: He doesn't agree that September 11 was an Islamic terrorist
- 20:19Speaker 6: attack on the United States of America, one that is
- 20:24Speaker 6: in terms of a war or effort continuing today and
- 20:28Speaker 6: maybe even worse today. So having lost friends there and
- 20:35Speaker 6: being very close to many of the families there, It
- 20:37Speaker 6: offends me that he's coming.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it offends everybody. I mean, the last guy, you know,
- 20:42Speaker 2: if you're having the Yankee parade, you don't invite the
- 20:45Speaker 2: manager of the Red Sox there. I mean, it just
- 20:47Speaker 2: doesn't make any sense. Who's this? Nicole Meliotakis.
- 20:49Speaker 7: You know, when he pals around with people like Hassan Piker,
- 20:52Speaker 7: who said that America is deserved 9-11 of course these
- 20:56Speaker 7: families don't want to see him there uh they're they're
- 20:59Speaker 7: offended and rightfully so i think what i would like
- 21:01Speaker 7: to do is just just take away the spotlight from
- 21:04Speaker 7: him because this day is not about him in any
- 21:06Speaker 7: way yes he's the mayor yes he will be there
- 21:09Speaker 7: but the day is not about him.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah now uh knowing this radical he's got something planned
- 21:18Speaker 2: for friday he's not just going to come stand there
- 21:21Speaker 2: i mean look at the signing ceremony He could have
- 21:24Speaker 2: just signed it and announced it, that's it. If he
- 21:26Speaker 2: thinks that anybody wants a pen that he used, if
- 21:29Speaker 2: he thinks that's a souvenir, he could have handed it
- 21:31Speaker 2: to the police commissioner. The fact that he gave it
- 21:34Speaker 2: to the terrorist lawyer, that's a deliberate, provocative act, which
- 21:39Speaker 2: means knowing this, I'd say this guy's got something planned
- 21:43Speaker 2: for Friday. He's going to pull some kind of crap
- 21:46Speaker 2: on Friday. Who knows who he'll bring with him? Who
- 21:49Speaker 2: knows what'll happen? It's not going to be good. on
- 21:53Speaker 2: friday so we'll see uh now uh where was oh
- 21:59Speaker 2: hey you want to see uh talk about politicians out
- 22:02Speaker 2: of touch you ever watch this chris murphy on those
- 22:05Speaker 2: sunday shows this guy just lies and lies and lies
- 22:08Speaker 2: makes the most outrageous claims and it's these corrupt sunday
- 22:12Speaker 2: shows where they don't correct anything he says they just
- 22:15Speaker 2: let him spew all this nonsense so anybody's a typical
- 22:21Speaker 2: uh like woke elitist, totally out of touch with people.
- 22:25Speaker 2: So he is, I guess he's running for re-election. He
- 22:29Speaker 2: has announced, and he's been doing it all weekend, a
- 22:32Speaker 2: walking tour where he walks through Connecticut. He walks 20
- 22:35Speaker 2: miles a day. And he said the reason he is
- 22:38Speaker 2: walking is to meet voters, to hear what they think,
- 22:42Speaker 2: to see what their concerns are. You're supposed to do
- 22:46Speaker 2: this every day. You're not supposed to have to go
- 22:49Speaker 2: out and do this as a special project. Let's meet
- 22:51Speaker 2: some actual citizens and find out how they actually feel,
- 22:54Speaker 2: what they really think. You're supposed to know this. You're
- 22:57Speaker 2: supposed to do this every day. Your daily life should
- 23:00Speaker 2: be encountering normal people. But this is what these elitists do,
- 23:04Speaker 2: these woke, woke left-wing kooks. They all hang around with
- 23:07Speaker 2: each other. They've never actually been around normal people. They've
- 23:11Speaker 2: never actually walked into a Costco or a Wawa. They've
- 23:16Speaker 2: never actually encountered normal Americans. So That's his special project.
- 23:21Speaker 2: He's going out to actually meet normal people to talk
- 23:24Speaker 2: to them, see what they think. And you can talk
- 23:26Speaker 2: to him all you want, but he's going to, you know,
- 23:28Speaker 2: forget it and wipe it all out of his head
- 23:30Speaker 2: as soon as he gets home. Anyway, we've got a
- 23:32Speaker 2: lot to get to. We'll take some calls in a
- 23:33Speaker 2: few minutes. It's Mark Simone here, 9 to noon. 9
- 23:37Speaker 2: to noon, three hours every day now on 710WOR.
- 23:41Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, now 9 till noon weekdays on 710WOR.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. Hey,
- 23:52Speaker 2: you know, today's Tuesday. Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, is the midterm convention,
- 24:01Speaker 2: the Republican midterm convention. It'll be two days in Texas. Wednesday, tomorrow,
- 24:08Speaker 2: and Thursday. And it's a brilliant idea. President Trump came
- 24:12Speaker 2: up with it. I don't know why somebody didn't think
- 24:13Speaker 2: of this before. Presidential year, you have the big convention,
- 24:17Speaker 2: gets a lot of attention, everybody gets to speak, and
- 24:19Speaker 2: it's basically a big pep rally for the Republicans or
- 24:24Speaker 2: the Democrats. So it's midterm elections. It's an off-year election.
- 24:28Speaker 2: But President Trump came up with the idea, let's do
- 24:30Speaker 2: a midterm convention. He'll come and make a big, enormous speech,
- 24:34Speaker 2: and then They got a whole bunch of speakers. And
- 24:36Speaker 2: then at the end, final day, final night, J.D. Vance
- 24:39Speaker 2: will speak. The people that run it asked me if
- 24:42Speaker 2: I wanted to broadcast live from there. And, of course,
- 24:46Speaker 2: I immediately said no. Spent two days listening to politicians
- 24:51Speaker 2: make speeches. Now, that's the only problem with this convention.
- 24:54Speaker 2: It's a great idea. I don't know who's going to
- 24:56Speaker 2: actually show it. Obviously, they're not going to run it
- 24:58Speaker 2: on MSNBC or CNN or, you know, the networks and everything.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Even if you're Fox, you've got big, high-rated shows. You're
- 25:08Speaker 2: not going to preempt them to do these speeches. Maybe
- 25:11Speaker 2: President Trump's speech, but here's the list of speakers. Imagine
- 25:16Speaker 2: broadcasting live to get these speeches. Mike Rogers, Ken Paxton,
- 25:22Speaker 2: Caroline Leavitt will speak. All right, that one might be good.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Todd Blanch. And basically, it's just a bunch of senators.
- 25:31Speaker 2: It's Senator Ron Phillips. Senator John Fredericks. It's a million
- 25:35Speaker 2: senators you never heard of. So it'll go on for
- 25:38Speaker 2: two days. And again, it's a great idea. I just
- 25:41Speaker 2: don't know in the world today, I don't know who
- 25:44Speaker 2: will actually broadcast this and show this, but a million
- 25:49Speaker 2: clips will come out of it. Maybe that'll happen. What
- 25:50Speaker 2: the president wants to do here is nationalize this election.
- 25:54Speaker 2: So if you've got a local Senate race in Michigan,
- 25:57Speaker 2: a local Senate race somewhere, the problem is off-year election,
- 26:00Speaker 2: no presidential election. So You get very low voter turnout.
- 26:04Speaker 2: So he wants to make this as if he were
- 26:07Speaker 2: on the ballot, as if it's a vote for him
- 26:09Speaker 2: or against him to increase turnout among Republicans. So maybe,
- 26:14Speaker 2: just maybe, that'll work. Now, you're going to see all
- 26:18Speaker 2: these fake news, network news, his approval ratings, the president's
- 26:23Speaker 2: approval ratings are low. Look how low they are. They're
- 26:26Speaker 2: so low. They forget to tell you. They're double what
- 26:29Speaker 2: the Democrats are. Democrats have an approval rating way below Trump.
- 26:33Speaker 2: In fact, Democrats are now breaking the all-time record for
- 26:37Speaker 2: low approval ratings. They always leave that part out of
- 26:39Speaker 2: the story. And it's Trump. You know this guy. He'll
- 26:43Speaker 2: always pull a rabbit out of his hat. So between
- 26:45Speaker 2: now and November, he'll pull something off. Hey, let's take
- 26:49Speaker 2: some calls. Let's go to Jeffrey in New Hampshire. Jeffrey,
- 26:52Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 26:54Speaker 3: Mark, awesome show. I'm addicted to the show. Now, Mayor
- 26:58Speaker 3: Mommy Connie of New York.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Now, this sounds like the Buchanan guy. There's no way
- 27:04Speaker 2: a guy calls you from New Hampshire. How are you?
- 27:06Speaker 2: Where are you actually from? This is Steve from Manhattan.
- 27:11Speaker 2: You can't call with that accent and try to claim
- 27:13Speaker 2: you're from New Hampshire.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I'm from New Hampshire.
- 27:16Speaker 2: What town are you in in New Hampshire?
- 27:20Speaker 3: Manchester.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Come on.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Don't give me.
- 27:22Speaker 2: The third degree. Tell me a town next to Manchester.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Oh, come on, man.
- 27:28Speaker 2: What are you doing? He always calls with a different name,
- 27:33Speaker 2: a different state. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 27:37Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 27:40Speaker 3: You're like the ace detective.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Well, you don't have to be Columbo on that one.
- 27:45Speaker 2: You take a call from New Hampshire and go, yo,
- 27:47Speaker 2: how are you? They're not a guy from New Hampshire.
- 27:51Speaker 3: There, down south. I see the president is busting chops again, Mark,
- 27:58Speaker 3: by calling New Mexico New America, which I thought was amusing.
- 28:02Speaker 3: And I think I read somewhere he's thinking of changing
- 28:05Speaker 3: the name of the Grand Tetons after Dolly Parton.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Oh, there you go. Wait a minute. Hang on here.
- 28:13Speaker 7: So.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:14Speaker 2: No, it's just he likes to shake things up. You know,
- 28:17Speaker 2: you ever go to the zoo and you're looking through
- 28:19Speaker 2: the cage, you're looking at the big tiger and There's
- 28:21Speaker 2: always some bratty kid who, like, has to rattle the cage. Yeah.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Throw something at the cage.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he's the quintessential New Yorker. He's a BB, as
- 28:31Speaker 3: my father used to say, you know, about guys like that.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Something buster.
- 28:34Speaker 2: And that's what makes them great.
- 28:35Speaker 3: That's what makes... Exactly.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:40Speaker 3: And that's, you know, because it works, and he understands that.
- 28:43Speaker 3: And it's not... It's sort of good nature, you know,
- 28:47Speaker 3: in many ways, but... You know, you have to be
- 28:49Speaker 3: accepting of that's what the problem, you know, that's what
- 28:51Speaker 3: the problem with some of these people who are going
- 28:53Speaker 3: to be no shows for the convention are going to,
- 28:55Speaker 3: you know, are going to, you know, create that situation where, ah,
- 29:00Speaker 3: he's too much. And it's like, no, go to the convention,
- 29:03Speaker 3: support it every way you can. You know, you want
- 29:05Speaker 3: to win.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. All right, Mike. Good call. Thanks for calling. Yeah,
- 29:10Speaker 2: he does. He just likes to cause a little trouble
- 29:13Speaker 2: now and then. He's just a bit of a he's
- 29:14Speaker 2: the Howard Stern president. You got to remember, he comes
- 29:17Speaker 2: from the world of Howard Stern, Imus, that kind of stuff.
- 29:20Speaker 2: You always rattle the cage, start a little trouble, push
- 29:23Speaker 2: the envelope. That's just the way he is. You're not
- 29:25Speaker 2: supposed to do that when you're president. But, hey, he's
- 29:28Speaker 2: had more success in a lot of areas than all
- 29:30Speaker 2: those professional politician presidents. So let him do it. That's
- 29:33Speaker 2: what he does. You know, any guys like that, when
- 29:37Speaker 2: they see a good target, I think that's the problem
- 29:39Speaker 2: with Canada. They just look like good targets. Those leaders
- 29:42Speaker 2: of Canada, they just look like these pompous stuff shirts.
- 29:45Speaker 2: And when Trump sees that, he loves to tweak them.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Let's go to Pat in Westchester. Pat, how you doing?
- 29:53Speaker 8: Very well, Mark. How about yourself?
- 29:54Speaker 2: Good.
- 29:56Speaker 8: Now, getting back to Maria Bartiromo, do you think her
- 29:59Speaker 8: good looks contributed a lot to her career success?
- 30:03Speaker 2: No. No, she was a very fine reporter, a very
- 30:05Speaker 2: good reporter. Remember, she was on the Wall Street stock
- 30:09Speaker 2: exchange floor originally as a reporter. No, she knows her
- 30:11Speaker 2: stuff backwards.
- 30:12Speaker 8: But she used to be referred to as Money Honey.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah, because when you have a lot of great top
- 30:17Speaker 2: business reporters and one of them looks real good, you
- 30:20Speaker 2: make up a nickname like that.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:21Speaker 2: No, you couldn't do that today. Back then, that was terrible.
- 30:23Speaker 2: 30 years ago, whatever that was, you could call it
- 30:26Speaker 2: the money honey. Now you'd be canceled for treating a
- 30:29Speaker 2: woman like an object like that.
- 30:31Speaker 8: And, uh, my other question would be, do you think
- 30:34Speaker 8: any of these other, uh, uh, uh, business hosts are
- 30:38Speaker 8: sitting by their phone waiting for a call? Maybe, uh,
- 30:41Speaker 8: to replace her?
- 30:42Speaker 3: No.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Oh, to replace her.
- 30:44Speaker 8: Uh, yeah.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Yeah. It's going to be rotating hosts. She does the, uh, uh,
- 30:48Speaker 2: morning show Fox business. So that'll be rotating hosts. And then, uh,
- 30:52Speaker 2: What else does she do? She does the Sunday show
- 30:54Speaker 2: on Fox News.
- 30:56Speaker 8: Yeah, she used to do like that version of Wall
- 30:59Speaker 8: Street Week.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 8: So she actually, you know, she was a hard worker.
- 31:04Speaker 8: I wonder if when they confronted her on this thing,
- 31:07Speaker 8: you know, she used to work long hours and get
- 31:09Speaker 8: there 4 o'clock in the morning and.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Everything like that.
- 31:11Speaker 8: I wonder if she just said, ah, that's fine with me.
- 31:13Speaker 8: You know, let's.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Take it and walk away. She's a very hard worker,
- 31:18Speaker 2: but much of the time she was doing the show
- 31:20Speaker 2: from the Hamptons. Oh, yeah. The commute was from the
- 31:24Speaker 2: living room.
- 31:26Speaker 8: I know she married very well.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yeah, no, she does very well. She's a very nice
- 31:29Speaker 2: person in real life. Yeah. She'll do fine. Anyway, thanks
- 31:34Speaker 2: for calling. Yeah, where would she go? I don't know. Newsmax?
- 31:38Speaker 2: Could be. Could be. They're probably already calling. Yeah, there's
- 31:42Speaker 2: a lot of places she can go. No, she's a very, very,
- 31:46Speaker 2: very good business reporter. On the air, sometimes she'd get
- 31:49Speaker 2: in a little too much controversy. These little conspiracy theory
- 31:53Speaker 2: type stuff, Dominion, all those kind of things. She was
- 31:56Speaker 2: always going a little too far in that kind of stuff.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Rick Santelli is stepping down from CNBC. CNBC is a
- 32:05Speaker 2: very left-wing, very liberal, very biased place, except for Joe Kern.
- 32:10Speaker 2: And Rick Santelli, he would broadcast from Chicago. You see,
- 32:14Speaker 2: that's the thing. He's not in the swamp. He's not
- 32:17Speaker 2: in the New York, Washington, D.C. swamp. He was a
- 32:23Speaker 2: Midwestern guy coming from the heartland. Remember him? He's the
- 32:26Speaker 2: guy that came up with the name Tea Party. Remember that?
- 32:29Speaker 1: We're thinking of having a Chicago Tea Party in July.
- 32:32Speaker 1: All you capitalists that want to show up to Lake Michigan,
- 32:35Speaker 1: I'm going to start organizing.
- 32:36Speaker 3: What are you dumping in this time?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he actually named it the Tea Party. He came
- 32:43Speaker 2: up with that name. Hey, we got a lot to
- 32:45Speaker 2: get to. Don't forget, it's three hours now, 9 to noon.
- 32:48Speaker 2: We got a lot of stuff coming up in the
- 32:50Speaker 2: next hour. And every day, 9 to noon, Mark Simone
- 32:54Speaker 2: here on 710WOR. Then at noon, you got Buck and Clay.
- 32:58Speaker 2: That's a very good show every day. And everybody will
- 33:00Speaker 2: be back today. Sean Hannity, the most listened to radio
- 33:03Speaker 2: show in America, 3 o'clock today. Jesse Kelly at 6
- 33:07Speaker 2: and the very funny Jimmy Fallon. 9 o'clock tonight on 710WOR.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Now 9 till noon weekday. Smart Simone. Only on 710WOR.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Well, hey, we've got two more hours to go. That's right.
- 33:23Speaker 2: It's a three-hour show now, 9 to noon. Back right
- 33:26Speaker 2: after the news on 710WOR.
