- 0:25Speaker 1: December 1st. You can get yours at therighttimebomani.com, therighttimebomani.com. We
- 0:33Speaker 1: got a lot of NFL to get to, but first,
- 0:36Speaker 1: I don't even know if right now what I'm about
- 0:40Speaker 1: to discuss actually qualifies as being the NFL. Like, it's
- 0:46Speaker 1: obviously a football topic, but I'm looking at the way
- 0:49Speaker 1: that people are charged up about this. It's way bigger
- 0:53Speaker 1: than football, apparently. It's way deeper than rap. Shador Mania
- 1:00Speaker 1: has officially arrived. Ladies and gentlemen, it is here. Kevin
- 1:08Speaker 1: Stefanski's worst nightmare just took place. And this is what
- 1:13Speaker 1: the worst nightmare was, okay? It was a combination of factors.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Shador Sanders plays. He does not play especially well, but
- 1:30Speaker 1: he has a couple of big plays, a couple of
- 1:33Speaker 1: good plays, a statistical line that looks decent, and the
- 1:41Speaker 1: Browns win. All worst case scenario. Now you're asking yourself,
- 1:47Speaker 1: why are these things the worst case scenario for Kevin Stefanski?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Number one, this team is bad and probably long run
- 1:58Speaker 1: is better by being worse. So like every win, I'm
- 2:02Speaker 1: not exactly sure how they do in terms of him
- 2:04Speaker 1: saving his job or whatever, but they're not necessarily best
- 2:06Speaker 1: for the Cleveland Browns. And I think Stefanski, I mean,
- 2:09Speaker 1: on one level, he's swinging for his job. On the
- 2:10Speaker 1: other hand, the man told him he's going to get
- 2:12Speaker 1: to keep it, in which case, be sorry and let
- 2:14Speaker 1: me get another quarterback. Okay, cool, right? That's not what
- 2:18Speaker 1: you want. But that combination of factors... that I just
- 2:22Speaker 1: gave you means that we are officially in the midst
- 2:29Speaker 1: of Shador mania.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It is here.
- 2:33Speaker 1: This is, I don't want to call it the same
- 2:37Speaker 1: as Tebow mania, but I will say this about Tebow mania,
- 2:40Speaker 1: and I think that this is an important distinction to
- 2:42Speaker 1: make where I say that we're kind of in a
- 2:44Speaker 1: similar stage, okay? Tebow mania did not start with his
- 2:50Speaker 1: first start. It started with the first game that he
- 2:52Speaker 1: went into, which was different than what happened with Shador
- 2:55Speaker 1: because the first game that Shador went into is because
- 2:57Speaker 1: Dylan Gabriel got hurt. No, the Broncos were getting their
- 3:01Speaker 1: asses kicked. I think it was by the Chargers. And
- 3:04Speaker 1: John Fox said, fine. He took Kyle Orton out the
- 3:06Speaker 1: game and he put Tebow in. Now, I am firmly
- 3:09Speaker 1: convinced that the reason that John Fox did that was like, watch,
- 3:13Speaker 1: this will shut him up. right? Let me put this
- 3:15Speaker 1: bum out here and watch what happens. And what happened
- 3:18Speaker 1: was the Broncos started to mount this furious comeback and
- 3:22Speaker 1: they didn't win the game, but they came back and
- 3:24Speaker 1: they got close enough that it made it virtually impossible
- 3:27Speaker 1: for them to not start Tebow the next game. And
- 3:31Speaker 1: they did start Tebow the next game. I am comparing
- 3:35Speaker 1: that Tebow performance to this first one for Shador. Cause look,
- 3:39Speaker 1: the first one that Shador got into, like, come on, man,
- 3:41Speaker 1: there was no chance there, right? I'm comparing this to
- 3:45Speaker 1: that one because it wasn't like Tebow was great in
- 3:48Speaker 1: the course of that game that I described, but they
- 3:50Speaker 1: moved down the field and they got some things done, right?
- 3:53Speaker 1: Shador in this game had like the big pass to
- 3:55Speaker 1: Bond where he rolled right through off the back leg,
- 3:57Speaker 1: got the ball down there. Okay, cool. But he got
- 3:59Speaker 1: a 66-yard touchdown where he threw the ball about 18 inches.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Right, exactly. A lot of what the Colorado stuff looked like.
- 4:06Speaker 2: And just to compare, in Tebow's first win, he went
- 4:08Speaker 2: 13 for 27, you know, competing for 161 yards. two
- 4:13Speaker 2: touchdowns to win the game, 18-15 in overtime.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yes, and that was against Miami, right?
- 4:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:19Speaker 2: So you were right in the Chargers. He comes in
- 4:21Speaker 2: the Chargers game. They lose by five. Yes.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:25Speaker 2: So he starts the next week and they win it
- 4:27Speaker 2: over time.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah, but he was bad. Like, I think, I don't
- 4:29Speaker 1: remember if I've told you the story that I did
- 4:31Speaker 1: around the horn that day right now, after that game,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I hit a guy up that played for the dolphins
- 4:35Speaker 1: now who is now a coach. And I asked him,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I said, so what'd you say on Tebow? And he said,
- 4:39Speaker 1: matter of fact, worst quarterback I've ever seen.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:42Speaker 1: He was like, Hey, we lost the game, but that's
- 4:45Speaker 1: the worst quarterback that I've ever seen. Okay. Which by
- 4:48Speaker 1: the way, Shador Sanders is not the worst quarterback I've
- 4:50Speaker 1: ever seen. That's an important distinction also in this. However,
- 4:54Speaker 1: I do a round the horn the next day. I
- 4:56Speaker 1: believe it's me, Woody Page, Bob Ryan, and Tim Kalashov.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And we go around, you know, in the circle on
- 5:04Speaker 1: the conference call where everybody gives their thoughts. And everybody, like,
- 5:09Speaker 1: you know, Woody, obviously he was in Denver, so he
- 5:11Speaker 1: had his one vantage on it. Like, you know, he's like, hey,
- 5:13Speaker 1: we got a little something, got the people going. The
- 5:16Speaker 1: vibes off of Bob Ryan and Kalashov were kind of,
- 5:22Speaker 1: you know, Every white man deserve a chance. And these
- 5:25Speaker 1: are guys I like, I want to be clear. Like, hey,
- 5:28Speaker 1: they weren't doing this from a standpoint of racism, but
- 5:31Speaker 1: this is the world we live in, right? They were
- 5:33Speaker 1: just kind of like, yeah, you know, I thought it
- 5:34Speaker 1: was bad, but eh, not so bad. And it got
- 5:36Speaker 1: to me, brother, I was flabbergasted. Gob smacked, I tell you.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I couldn't believe what I was hearing because I was
- 5:43Speaker 1: just like, It's the worst quarterback I've ever seen. Like,
- 5:49Speaker 1: I couldn't believe anybody saw anything other than the worst
- 5:51Speaker 1: quarterback I'd ever seen. Oh, my God. And that led
- 5:53Speaker 1: to a good two, three months of them putting me
- 5:56Speaker 1: on TV on Monday to lose my goddamn mind on
- 5:59Speaker 1: TV in front of God and everybody. I just couldn't
- 6:01Speaker 1: take it. Like, you just find all kinds of clips
- 6:03Speaker 1: with me where my head in my hands just can't
- 6:06Speaker 1: believe what's going on here. Like, and they keep winning.
- 6:09Speaker 1: It just keeps going. I don't... I can't understand what
- 6:16Speaker 1: is going on here, right? And I was fighting against it.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I felt like I was fighting against it. You know what, man?
- 6:24Speaker 1: I think I'm going to say this to Shador, to
- 6:28Speaker 1: the fans, everybody. I'm going to say this perhaps on
- 6:32Speaker 1: behalf of the people in my line of work, man. Man,
- 6:36Speaker 1: let's just get this money. You know what I'm saying?
- 6:40Speaker 1: Can like, let's just get this money. Is there a
- 6:42Speaker 1: peaceful way for us to get this money right? Because
- 6:45Speaker 1: this really gets the people going. I will never understand
- 6:49Speaker 1: how Shador Sanders of all people became inspirational to folks.
- 6:53Speaker 1: That is the most mind blowing part about this is
- 6:56Speaker 1: the idea that this is a feel good story. I
- 6:59Speaker 1: don't get that. I don't get the investment that people
- 7:03Speaker 1: have in him. None of this makes any sense, but
- 7:05Speaker 1: it's here. We there. We might as well just get
- 7:09Speaker 1: this money.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I think a lot of it comes from people feel–
- 7:14Speaker 2: I think the Shador Hive feels aggrieved that he got–
- 7:19Speaker 2: of the perceived lack in his draft stock and the
- 7:23Speaker 2: fact that he went in the fifth round. And then
- 7:25Speaker 2: I think he has become one of the most shocking
- 7:30Speaker 2: underdog stories I've ever seen.
- 7:33Speaker 1: There's a difference between.
- 7:35Speaker 2: The shocking perception of an underdog.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Yes, yes.
- 7:38Speaker 1: And I want you to stay on screen with me
- 7:39Speaker 1: because I want to know if you feel where I'm
- 7:42Speaker 1: coming from on this, okay? There is a difference between
- 7:47Speaker 1: being an underdog and not being that good.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Correct.
- 7:52Speaker 1: No, like, being an underdog... in the way that we
- 7:56Speaker 1: talk about this, is like, oh, he's not actually that...
- 8:01Speaker 1: I don't even know how to.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Brock Purdy is an underdog.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yes. I think that's maybe a better way to put it.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Um.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I mean, Cam Ward is an underdog. I think that's
- 8:13Speaker 1: the distinction that I'm looking for here. Cam Ward, former, what,
- 8:17Speaker 1: zero-star recruit for West Columbia, Texas, who goes to Incarnate
- 8:21Speaker 1: Word and then goes to Wazoo and then winds up
- 8:24Speaker 1: at Miami and becomes a Heisman finalist and becomes the
- 8:26Speaker 1: number one pick in the draft. That is an underdog.
- 8:31Speaker 1: This guy who has had a whole slew of advantages
- 8:37Speaker 1: and the greatest advantage at all, a father with the
- 8:40Speaker 1: power to be able to become a coach at all
- 8:42Speaker 1: these places to shepherd you through to get to the
- 8:45Speaker 1: point where you get to the NFL. This is not
- 8:48Speaker 1: an underdog story, right? They don't make rich underdogs, right?
- 8:53Speaker 1: I don't think Tom Brady is not an underdog story.
- 8:56Speaker 1: What the fuck in Michigan? All right.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Is Josh Allen an underdog to you?
- 9:03Speaker 1: He's a late bloomer.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Okay, that's a good distinction.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Right, he's a late bloomer, but it's hard to be
- 9:10Speaker 1: that big, that strong, that fast, that everything.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Is Baker Mayfield an underdog?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Kinda, yeah.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Here's my favorite, and I apologize if this makes you upset.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Do you know where I'm going with this?
- 9:26Speaker 1: I do not.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Is Jalen Hurts an underdog?
- 9:30Speaker 1: Huh. Another interesting case. I mean, he's another very highly
- 9:36Speaker 1: touted recruit.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Who went to Alabama.
- 9:39Speaker 1: And Oklahoma. Yeah. He just has a ceiling on his talents.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Right?
- 9:44Speaker 1: I think that's where this gets to be fun is
- 9:46Speaker 1: an underdog apparently is whatever you want it to be.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:50Speaker 1: We can turn anybody to underdog. Brock Purdy, underdog. Brock
- 9:53Speaker 1: Purdy was an all-conference quarterback in college.
- 9:56Speaker 2: People made Steph Curry out to be an underdog in
- 9:58Speaker 2: the LeBron versus LeBron. James and talk about you know
- 10:01Speaker 2: father with lots of advantages growing up you know.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Yeah but but the thing I would say about Steph
- 10:06Speaker 1: in terms of that where he becomes an interesting underdog
- 10:08Speaker 1: case is none he was so small when he got
- 10:11Speaker 1: to college right like if you watch the college version
- 10:13Speaker 1: of Steph Curry Yeah, yeah, yeah. You see, and he
- 10:17Speaker 1: went to Davidson. He did not play high level AAU basketball.
- 10:21Speaker 1: So there was access to certain things, but the application
- 10:24Speaker 1: was very, very interesting. But yeah, you, let me tell
- 10:26Speaker 1: you the best example of this. I don't know if
- 10:28Speaker 1: you remember this, but it was in 2010. The first
- 10:31Speaker 1: year that Calipari was at Kentucky. And Kentucky played against
- 10:36Speaker 1: Cornell University. In the sweet 16. Right. The argument was
- 10:40Speaker 1: that Cornell was this team of underdogs playing against a
- 10:43Speaker 1: team with Eric Bledsoe, who, as I recall, spent a
- 10:46Speaker 1: significant portion of his high school life sleeping in a car. Yes.
- 10:50Speaker 1: But he was a five star recruit. Right. And it's like,
- 10:53Speaker 1: who's the underdog? The Ivy League kids or John Wall,
- 10:59Speaker 1: who where I met his high school coach, it was like, yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you go to John's house right now. You'll see his
- 11:03Speaker 1: mama hanging clothes on the line. You know what I mean? Like,
- 11:07Speaker 1: who's really the underdog here? Right. You know, and it
- 11:09Speaker 1: gets weird. It's difficult for me to put Shador as
- 11:13Speaker 1: being an underdog in part because clearly a lot of
- 11:16Speaker 1: people are betting on him. There's clearly a lot of
- 11:20Speaker 1: people that are on this. I think it's great for
- 11:23Speaker 1: him that he got a start in the NFL and
- 11:25Speaker 1: that that start went as well as it did. I
- 11:27Speaker 1: think it worked out well for him that he got
- 11:29Speaker 1: to play against some bums and it made everybody so
- 11:32Speaker 1: mad with the Raiders that they lost to the Browns
- 11:35Speaker 1: that Chip Kelly got fired.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah. It was like, hey, man, dude, that's the first
- 11:41Speaker 1: Raiders game I think I've watched like for real because
- 11:43Speaker 1: I watched a lot of that game.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Hey, man.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Geno Smith about to lose his mind up in here,
- 11:51Speaker 1: up in here.
- 11:51Speaker 2: They're bad.
- 11:53Speaker 1: They're bad. I mean, the Browns sacked them 10 times.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I mean, it's just like the kind of sacks where
- 12:01Speaker 2: you like, you know, we're not exactly, you know, football
- 12:04Speaker 2: exes or geniuses. And it was like, is that guy
- 12:08Speaker 2: supposed to block Miles Garrett by himself? Is this person
- 12:13Speaker 2: I've never heard of going to take on Miles Garrett?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Who's about to break the sack record before December 1st.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Like, oh, so you're guarding Jokic.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You're 6'4. Like, how is this happening? And so, good
- 12:29Speaker 1: for Shador. I mean, he did not play poorly, right?
- 12:33Speaker 1: You don't blame somebody. He got the touchdown pass. It's
- 12:36Speaker 1: the touchdown pass. It's what it is. But it's going
- 12:37Speaker 1: to look better on paper than it did in application.
- 12:40Speaker 1: He looked like he made some pretty good throws. Like,
- 12:42Speaker 1: he absolutely should be starting next week. See, that's the
- 12:45Speaker 1: other thing for Stefanski. it makes it very difficult to
- 12:48Speaker 1: defend the way that you have dealt with Shador and
- 12:52Speaker 1: the way Dylan Gabriel has played after that game. Like
- 12:55Speaker 1: no matter what is going to happen when he goes
- 12:57Speaker 1: back and watches the film and he can probably parse
- 13:00Speaker 1: and point out more errors than the lay person is
- 13:02Speaker 1: going to be able to under those circumstances. But you
- 13:04Speaker 1: have a hard time explaining to people why it was
- 13:06Speaker 1: that you kept Hawaii five, nine out there and didn't
- 13:09Speaker 1: play Shador after that game. It's going to be tough, right?
- 13:12Speaker 1: Cause I don't really see it to be perfectly honest. Like,
- 13:16Speaker 1: He said he's going to wait and see who's going
- 13:17Speaker 1: to be the starter next week. No, no, no, no, no.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Let me tell you right now, Shador's going to be
- 13:20Speaker 1: your starter next week. I mean, I could be wrong here,
- 13:24Speaker 1: but if Shador is inspiring the people in the streets
- 13:27Speaker 1: like this, I bet he got some people in the
- 13:28Speaker 1: locker room there, and they just won that game, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: you're going to have to look at them and explain
- 13:32Speaker 1: why you're going to go back to Dylan Gabriel. No, sir,
- 13:35Speaker 1: that's not going to happen. Shador's going to be your
- 13:36Speaker 1: starter next week.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, football players aren't interested in this tanking.
- 13:39Speaker 1: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And then here's the thing. Like if, if he goes
- 13:45Speaker 2: out there and beats a Bob solid defense, I mean,
- 13:47Speaker 2: they've got a bunch of injuries on that 49ers side
- 13:49Speaker 2: of the ball, but that's playing a real defensive coordinator
- 13:52Speaker 2: and they're, you know, they're fighting for playoff position.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 2: So like, you know, this is this is another real
- 13:58Speaker 2: test to see what he's got.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 14:00Speaker 1: He's got you got to play him. Like that was
- 14:02Speaker 1: the thing that happened with Tebow after they had that
- 14:04Speaker 1: comeback against the Chargers. You got to put him out here,
- 14:08Speaker 1: whether you like it or not. You're going to need
- 14:09Speaker 1: to make peace with this.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Because us over here, we're going to be getting this
- 14:13Speaker 1: money and we're going to be getting this money by
- 14:15Speaker 1: talking about this a lot. And I swear, I don't
- 14:19Speaker 1: know if it's just the Internet giving it to me.
- 14:22Speaker 1: People is not trying to hear about Joe Dillon Gabriel
- 14:24Speaker 1: right now, brother. Just telling you right now, they're not
- 14:27Speaker 1: trying to hear it. I will tell you, however, what
- 14:30Speaker 1: I'm not trying to hear, which is another word that
- 14:32Speaker 1: Shador Sanders has to actually say out of his own mouth. Ryan,
- 14:37Speaker 1: somebody needs to explain to him that all these things
- 14:39Speaker 1: you just need to stop. I'm trying to show these
- 14:42Speaker 1: people that I'm what they've been waiting for. Just play
- 14:45Speaker 1: a couple of games, big dawg. Bring it down. We
- 14:49Speaker 1: was talking about how I grew up in a 30,000-square-foot house,
- 14:52Speaker 1: but my daddy took me to the hood to get
- 14:55Speaker 1: that dog in me. Son, you play in five-figure watches. Like,
- 15:03Speaker 1: this is not... Like, if I... I mean, let me
- 15:05Speaker 1: tell you, he took you over there to get that
- 15:07Speaker 1: dog in you, but he didn't leave you there.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I bet he kept his eye on you. Like, I don't... Don't... Hey, man, just...
- 15:17Speaker 1: Just keep going. Just, just, just. I'm here to help
- 15:21Speaker 1: him right now in this. Just keep going. You got
- 15:27Speaker 1: a good start here. You might be able to start
- 15:29Speaker 1: for the rest of the year, right? You might be
- 15:31Speaker 1: able to. You might position yourself well for the quarterback
- 15:35Speaker 1: controversy that's going to happen next year, right? Like, just
- 15:37Speaker 1: try to keep Dylan Gabriel off the field.
- 15:39Speaker 2: And you get to play against the Titans.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You do.
- 15:42Speaker 2: The Bears.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yes.
- 15:45Speaker 2: You know, oh, God.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Ugh.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got to play the Bills and the Steelers.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 2: And then he gets a free one against the Bengals
- 15:53Speaker 2: when they're all, you know.
- 15:55Speaker 1: He does.
- 15:55Speaker 4: He does.
- 15:56Speaker 2: At the end of the year.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Be cool, baby. Be cool. That's all I'm saying. If
- 16:00Speaker 1: you can be as cool about this as you can,
- 16:02Speaker 1: this can work out for you. I think it's best
- 16:04Speaker 1: for him to leave Cleveland if he wants to play somewhere. Like,
- 16:06Speaker 1: I think you're positioning yourself for a future that is
- 16:08Speaker 1: not for the team for which you play right now.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I also know that Cleveland is consistently a cluster of
- 16:15Speaker 1: There's no telling what Jimmy Haslam thought after that game.
- 16:18Speaker 1: There's no telling what Matthew Barry, I mean, not Matthew Barry,
- 16:21Speaker 1: Andrew Barry. Big difference between the two. Andrew Barry made
- 16:26Speaker 1: the trade to go get him. Right? So there's some
- 16:29Speaker 1: level of belief that's there. Can you imagine the group text,
- 16:32Speaker 1: the conference call, whatever it is between the Cleveland Browns
- 16:35Speaker 1: brain trust that they're having about this?
- 16:39Speaker 2: And speaking of places where he might end up, he
- 16:41Speaker 2: might be, he might be looking for places in Vegas.
- 16:45Speaker 1: He, could but they need to go get a real
- 16:47Speaker 1: live quarterback too.
- 16:49Speaker 2: But people are gonna people might think he's a real
- 16:51Speaker 2: live quarterback after that game.
- 16:52Speaker 1: They they might they might but i don't know if
- 16:54Speaker 1: pete carroll is one of those people i think pete
- 16:56Speaker 1: carroll is going to go back and watch that film
- 16:58Speaker 1: and curse out his own guys yeah right and so
- 17:02Speaker 1: let me tell you buddy bob was at a bar
- 17:04Speaker 1: he said um oh yeah yeah yeah they got a
- 17:07Speaker 1: bind my good buddy cory urban you know he's a
- 17:08Speaker 1: browns fan for reasons that don't make any sense that's
- 17:11Speaker 1: incredible He said last week there was, and this is
- 17:14Speaker 1: in Toronto, but he said last week there were seven
- 17:16Speaker 1: people at the Browns backer bar. Today it was absolutely packed.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Two 80 plus year old men came out for the
- 17:21Speaker 1: first time this year because they said it was the
- 17:23Speaker 1: first time they felt hope in a while. It don't matter.
- 17:28Speaker 1: The football part barely matters, guys. Like, let's get this money.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Shador Mania, baby. Let's print out these t-shirts. Let's just
- 17:39Speaker 1: ride this out. I don't even know if I need
- 17:41Speaker 1: to have opinions about this anymore. I've stated how I
- 17:44Speaker 1: feel about him.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Let's just have some fun.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I'm going to give him credit when he plays well.
- 17:49Speaker 1: I'm going to be honest when he does it. But
- 17:50Speaker 1: in the meantime, tween time, the best kind of fun,
- 17:53Speaker 1: the kind of fun where the black people and the
- 17:55Speaker 1: white people might start fighting. And by the way, it's
- 17:59Speaker 1: not just the black people and the white people. It's
- 18:01Speaker 1: the black people and the black people who send me
- 18:03Speaker 1: texts about it because they don't want to talk about
- 18:05Speaker 1: it in front of people because it's getting just a
- 18:08Speaker 1: little bit dicey out here in these streets. Nobody wants
- 18:12Speaker 1: to be called a rope. You understand what I'm saying?
- 18:14Speaker 5: Right?
- 18:15Speaker 1: Nobody wants to just be like, oh, you be ruffling
- 18:17Speaker 1: through trash in the dumpster. You feel what I'm saying?
- 18:21Speaker 1: Nobody wants that. But let's just get this money, man.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Let's just get this money because otherwise... It's going to
- 18:29Speaker 1: drive me crazy. Speaking of being driven crazy, I'm so
- 18:38Speaker 1: glad I don't root for the Eagles.
- 18:41Speaker 2: My gosh.
- 18:42Speaker 1: That was embarrassing.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Because I watched, it was 21-0. And it just looked
- 18:47Speaker 1: like they was waxing them. And so I went to
- 18:49Speaker 1: go check out what was going on with the Browns.
- 18:51Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like I knew I needed
- 18:52Speaker 1: to have some eyeballs of what was happening with that game.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I come back. it's 21 to 14. The Eagles suddenly
- 19:01Speaker 1: can't move the ball anymore. The Cowboys are chipping away.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I saw Aubrey miss a field goal. I'm like, oh,
- 19:08Speaker 1: it really ain't Cowboys day. And they won. Like, I mean,
- 19:12Speaker 1: the Eagles had some like, what did they muff a punt?
- 19:14Speaker 1: I want to say there was a Saquon Barkley fumble. Right.
- 19:17Speaker 2: It was, it was, It was snatching defeat from the
- 19:22Speaker 2: jaws of victory in a way that I haven't seen.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I mean, they haven't blown a 21-point lead in over
- 19:27Speaker 2: 25 years. Their offense just turns off in a way
- 19:34Speaker 2: that I can't remember seeing from a contender.
- 19:36Speaker 1: They were squared up against the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the
- 19:39Speaker 1: Make-A-Wish Foundation is like, hey, make a wish, and the
- 19:42Speaker 1: Eagles were like, nah, we good. We straight. Couldn't do it. A.J.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Brown got his 100 yards receiving. I guess that was
- 19:51Speaker 1: good for him. But nah, bruh. Nah, bruh. And Jalen Hurts.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Text I sent you at 518 p.m. Eastern time.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Cowboys defense is making A.J. Brown and Devontae Smith's dreams
- 20:06Speaker 2: come true.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yes, they were.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And then.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Not really so much after that. And I want to
- 20:13Speaker 1: make sure that I get this right. By the way,
- 20:15Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts had 289 yards. They were really handling business
- 20:20Speaker 1: in the first half, but they could not run the ball.
- 20:23Speaker 1: And that is, look, the fundamental story about this team
- 20:26Speaker 1: is that if you want to play the way that
- 20:27Speaker 1: they are playing, you got to be able to run
- 20:28Speaker 1: the ball. Like all the receiver guys, they all got
- 20:31Speaker 1: their money. You know what I'm saying? I mean, they
- 20:33Speaker 1: got their opportunities. They got their stuff. Let me go
- 20:36Speaker 1: find the quote, that uh that that hurts gabe or
- 20:41Speaker 1: it was the headline that i saw on espn.com and
- 20:45Speaker 1: yeah the phrase that jumps out let me control f
- 20:49Speaker 1: and make sure i get to it because i'm like
- 20:52Speaker 1: oh buddy you can't do that here we go quote
- 20:55Speaker 1: we've got to own this one let it light a
- 20:58Speaker 1: fire in us as a team and stay together and
- 21:01Speaker 1: move forward brother brother brother brother brother I don't think
- 21:05Speaker 1: you need to be talking to people right now about
- 21:06Speaker 1: lighting a fire because they will, they want to light
- 21:10Speaker 1: you on fire. Even though this wasn't your fault in
- 21:12Speaker 1: this game per se, I don't think nobody wants to
- 21:16Speaker 1: hear that from you right now. Like everything that we're
- 21:19Speaker 1: hearing at every turn is about how people don't want
- 21:22Speaker 1: to hear this from him.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Right. He can't be the messenger.
- 21:28Speaker 1: He doesn't want to. And see the thing about Philly,
- 21:30Speaker 1: Philly's interesting. Um, I remember when the NAACP wrote that
- 21:37Speaker 1: letter about Donovan McNabb telling him to get it going.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I was like, damn, the NAACP?
- 21:43Speaker 2: I did not know about this.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Oh, yes. I forget what. I think the criticism was
- 21:48Speaker 1: that he doesn't run enough. They were just like, yo,
- 21:50Speaker 1: you need to tap into your roots, basically, which is
- 21:52Speaker 1: a little shaky and get out there. But yeah, the
- 21:54Speaker 1: NAACP of Philadelphia put out something about Donovan McNabb trying
- 21:58Speaker 1: to light a fire under him. You looking it up?
- 22:00Speaker 1: You seeing it? You see what I'm talking about?
- 22:02Speaker 4: Yes.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Yes, this really. And be your old people sometimes. And
- 22:07Speaker 1: this is the thing about Philadelphia and black quarterbacks or
- 22:10Speaker 1: black coaches or whatever it is. It's the ones from
- 22:12Speaker 1: out of town that'll put on their cape for you.
- 22:15Speaker 1: The local ones turn to white folks when things are
- 22:18Speaker 1: not going well because they want to win just like
- 22:20Speaker 1: white folks do, right? And that's Philadelphia for you. We
- 22:26Speaker 1: will not be here to save you, brother, in Philadelphia
- 22:30Speaker 1: when this goes down. That's what I'm telling you. And
- 22:34Speaker 1: Here's how crazy the Eagles season is also, Rod. I
- 22:36Speaker 1: told you this yesterday. The Eagles have the biggest divisional
- 22:41Speaker 1: lead in the league. This is after losing a game
- 22:44Speaker 1: to the second place team.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Correct.
- 22:46Speaker 1: They are by far going to win their division. Nobody
- 22:49Speaker 1: else can say this.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Right. They had the one seed until the Rams had
- 22:55Speaker 2: that beat down last night, too.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:58Speaker 1: But this is the second time in three years that–
- 23:01Speaker 1: and by the way, they're 8-3. Right.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Let me be careful and clear. But this is the
- 23:06Speaker 1: second time in three years that they've had a team
- 23:08Speaker 1: where it just felt like it ain't right.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Now, the last time they had a suffered from a
- 23:12Speaker 1: stunning epic collapse in 2023. Of course, they just came
- 23:16Speaker 1: behind that and won the Super Bowl the year after that.
- 23:19Speaker 2: They went to the Super Bowl, had the epic collapse
- 23:22Speaker 2: where they played against the Bucs, and it looks like
- 23:24Speaker 2: they all quit out there.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Yes.
- 23:25Speaker 2: They won the Super Bowl and then whatever we're getting
- 23:28Speaker 2: this year. And I mean, they still got to play.
- 23:30Speaker 2: The Bears, the Chargers, and the Bills. They do not
- 23:33Speaker 2: have an easy road towards the next two months.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Ryan, what a weird everything. Do you know Nick Sirianni's
- 23:41Speaker 1: career record as a head coach?
- 23:43Speaker 2: I think it's something like 46-21.
- 23:44Speaker 3: 56-22.
- 23:45Speaker 2: You see all.
- 23:46Speaker 1: The stats where it's like he's got like a.
- 23:51Speaker 2: John Madden-esque record. Yes. If you just look at the numbers,
- 24:00Speaker 2: he's one of the greatest. He's 56-22 with a Super Bowl.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:05Speaker 2: It's the same start of the career that Jimmy Johnson had.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Without the bad first year.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Yeah, with two trips to the Super Bowl.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Right.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Correct me if I'm wrong, the first trip, didn't it
- 24:14Speaker 1: go to overtime or something? It wasn't overtime.
- 24:16Speaker 2: No, they kicked the field goal right at the gun.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yes, yes. But like... And none of us believe, dog.
- 24:24Speaker 1: None of us believe. None of us see it. Like,
- 24:27Speaker 1: none of this. None of this. And I just watched that.
- 24:29Speaker 1: And the Cowboys look really thrilled to move their way
- 24:32Speaker 1: up to, what is it, 5-5-1? Is that where they
- 24:36Speaker 1: have gotten themselves to?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Talk about let's get this money. Cowboys just staying relevant
- 24:41Speaker 2: right before they go play the Chiefs on Thursday.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Let me tell you, ain't nobody saying let's get this
- 24:45Speaker 1: money quite like that boy George Pickens. George Pickens looked
- 24:51Speaker 1: amazing in that game.
- 24:53Speaker 2: They have to keep him.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Well, look, Jerry didn't get him to not keep him, right?
- 24:59Speaker 1: The question is, what language are we going to use
- 25:02Speaker 1: in this paperwork to protect us from the invariable regression
- 25:06Speaker 1: that's going to come once he has already got his money?
- 25:08Speaker 2: And it's also like the classic Jerry Jones of he
- 25:12Speaker 2: is a very great player. big time receiver he is
- 25:16Speaker 2: also going into a contract extension that we are going
- 25:19Speaker 2: to delay until probably august 25th that is correct and
- 25:23Speaker 2: he is a ticking time bomb of being unhappy before
- 25:27Speaker 2: and after he gets.
- 25:28Speaker 1: This money or just being weird right correct just just
- 25:32Speaker 1: being one of the two man what what a weird
- 25:35Speaker 1: sunday of football so i'm looking over here at this
- 25:37Speaker 1: and let me just the chiefs who looked terrible in
- 25:41Speaker 1: that first half against Indianapolis.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Looked terrible in the third quarter, too.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Looked terrible. Somehow managed to get that. And look, Mahomes
- 25:47Speaker 1: doesn't look good. Like, I don't know what's going on,
- 25:50Speaker 1: but he specifically looked bad. This was not just a
- 25:53Speaker 1: matter of, oh, he's Patrick Mahomes, but the team is da-da-da.
- 25:55Speaker 1: He looked like a big part of the problem in
- 25:58Speaker 1: the course of that game. But Indianapolis, man, the Chiefs said,
- 26:04Speaker 1: beat us, Daniel Jones. And Daniel Jones was like, No,
- 26:08Speaker 1: thank you. I'd love to, but just don't think I'm
- 26:13Speaker 1: going to be able to get that done for you fellas.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 26:16Speaker 1: What other weird old game did we have in the
- 26:18Speaker 1: course of this? The lions.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Brother, brother, brother. That was not. Hey, Dan. No, no, no.
- 26:33Speaker 1: It ain't going to be that. Mike Kafka, apparently he
- 26:34Speaker 1: didn't want to be the coach of the Giants because
- 26:36Speaker 1: he lost it with that one. I didn't think it
- 26:37Speaker 1: was a ridiculous idea to be up three and to
- 26:40Speaker 1: go for it short. And I think Greg Olson has
- 26:42Speaker 1: talked about this with the change in the kickoff rules
- 26:45Speaker 1: that you're giving them back the ball on the 35.
- 26:49Speaker 1: In all likelihood, if you kick it off, you might
- 26:51Speaker 1: as well.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, if you go up six, kicking the field goal
- 26:54Speaker 2: to go up six does nothing for you.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you might as well try to
- 26:56Speaker 1: win the game. And they did not. And look, the
- 26:58Speaker 1: Lions tied it up on like a 59-yard field goal.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I don't care if it's indoors. I don't care if
- 27:04Speaker 1: it's 20-25.
- 27:05Speaker 2: That's never a gimme.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, no, no, no, no.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Over here, those of us who root for America's team,
- 27:13Speaker 1: we're like, no, no, no, no, no. By the way, Jameis,
- 27:17Speaker 1: see you, big dog. Yeah. See you, big dog. And hey,
- 27:20Speaker 1: it's vibes. It's making everybody feel good. It's vibes. Tampa Bay,
- 27:25Speaker 1: they got a problem because I don't know how long
- 27:29Speaker 1: it's going to be. Like, Baker, it's the other arm
- 27:33Speaker 1: that he hurt. He's got a sprained left shoulder. But
- 27:38Speaker 1: he down bad. And correct me if I'm wrong, Ryan,
- 27:41Speaker 1: they are now tied at the top of that division?
- 27:45Speaker 2: I believe, let's just take this.
- 27:46Speaker 1: The Carolina Panthers, much to my surprise.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Are 6-5. Yeah, they're both 6-5.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Who knew?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Both with negative point differentials.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Yes, yes. By the way, the Eagles' point differential is
- 27:58Speaker 1: something like plus 33, being 8-3.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah, point 30, exactly.
- 28:04Speaker 1: That's right, because they lost. They lost the game by
- 28:06Speaker 1: three points. They are low key, just not really that good. Right.
- 28:13Speaker 1: But they're not bad. Yeah. Like they literally defy explanation.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I don't have any answers for you on what to
- 28:22Speaker 1: say they are or they are not. But you can't
- 28:27Speaker 1: live like that. You know, I think that's just the
- 28:29Speaker 1: way that I look at it. Look at this situation.
- 28:31Speaker 1: You can't live like that. The Bears, another squeaker win.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Yeah, eight and three, negative three-point differential.
- 28:37Speaker 1: And Caleb Williams with another. Good enough. Like our guy
- 28:41Speaker 1: Nate Tice wrote a very interesting article for Yahoo about
- 28:44Speaker 1: how the Bears offense has actually been explosive and Caleb
- 28:47Speaker 1: Williams has actually been really good. But nothing in these
- 28:50Speaker 1: numbers says that to me right here. But like his QBR,
- 28:54Speaker 1: the advanced QBR one, is very high for the game.
- 28:58Speaker 1: He had three touchdowns. He had no interceptions. He only
- 29:00Speaker 1: had seven yards in attempt. I don't know how you
- 29:02Speaker 1: reconcile all of these ideas, but they all come together.
- 29:07Speaker 1: And we are hurtling toward November, December to remember because
- 29:11Speaker 1: I got no idea what's going to happen. I have
- 29:14Speaker 1: no idea what it means that your record is whatever
- 29:16Speaker 1: your record is. I have no gauge on what anybody
- 29:20Speaker 1: truly is in this league right now, who's actually good,
- 29:24Speaker 1: who's not. None of it makes any sense to me.
- 29:28Speaker 1: None at all. But hey guys, this is what we have.
- 29:31Speaker 1: This is where it's going. It should be a lot
- 29:35Speaker 1: of fun. And hopefully Shador Mania doesn't just make it
- 29:39Speaker 1: all strange. This show is sponsored by BetterHelp. Shorter days

- 31:32Speaker 2: All right, two quick stories from the weekend. Lane Kiffin's
- 31:35Speaker 2: decision is kind of what hovers over college football. Ross
- 31:41Speaker 2: Dellinger reported that LSU is preparing nearly a $ 90 billion offer.
- 31:46Speaker 2: He's also still considering Florida. The Ole Miss athletic director
- 31:49Speaker 2: came out and said they will make an announcement on
- 31:51Speaker 2: his future after the Egg Bowl on Friday. Bo, what
- 31:53Speaker 2: are your thoughts?
- 31:54Speaker 1: Just messy. He's just messy. Like, everything about him messy.
- 31:59Speaker 1: And I got a question for Ole Miss where they're like,
- 32:02Speaker 1: we're going to announce his decision after the Egg Bowl.
- 32:06Speaker 1: How do you know you're going to announce the decision
- 32:07Speaker 1: after the Egg Bowl? You're dealing with Lane. Like, do
- 32:10Speaker 1: you guys have a decision that you're going to make?
- 32:13Speaker 1: Are you going to fire Lane Kiffin after the Egg Bowl?
- 32:16Speaker 1: Because that's the only way that you get to say
- 32:19Speaker 1: that you will make a decision. What, did Lane make
- 32:22Speaker 1: an agreement with you That this is what we're going
- 32:24Speaker 1: to do?
- 32:25Speaker 2: A week is a long time in college football.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Especially for somebody who doesn't seem to think stuff out.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Forget about college football. A week is a long time
- 32:36Speaker 1: in the world of Lane Kiffin. What are we doing here?
- 32:42Speaker 1: What is this in total? And I got to say,
- 32:46Speaker 1: this is where it gets interesting for me. I'm not
- 32:50Speaker 1: that old-fashioned, but I totally understand the people who are
- 32:53Speaker 1: raising the question of how could you do this when
- 32:56Speaker 1: you have a team that's going to the playoff, right?
- 32:59Speaker 1: How can you do this with the best team in
- 33:02Speaker 1: the history of the school? And I think that this
- 33:04Speaker 1: is different than, for example, Brian Kelly being the coach
- 33:08Speaker 1: at Cincinnati and then leaving to go to Notre Dame
- 33:12Speaker 1: before it's all done, right? This is one that you
- 33:17Speaker 1: kind of ride out. Like you got a team that
- 33:19Speaker 1: could really make some noise here and you may never
- 33:23Speaker 1: get back to this place again knowing you. You kind
- 33:26Speaker 1: of got to wait till next year, right? Like that's
- 33:30Speaker 1: my thought in this is that this is not necessarily
- 33:33Speaker 1: the time for you to make that move. But there
- 33:35Speaker 1: are two jobs that are available that we have all
- 33:37Speaker 1: thought were excellent to have. I'll just make the point
- 33:40Speaker 1: that You at the job you have had the last
- 33:44Speaker 1: couple of years have looked better than the coaches at
- 33:47Speaker 1: those jobs. And say what you want about Brian Kelly.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Brian Kelly is not a bad coach. Maybe you could
- 33:52Speaker 1: say he did not work it out. But Brian Kelly,
- 33:53Speaker 1: I keep saying people get mad at me, but he's
- 33:55Speaker 1: a Hall of Fame level coach. You could probably get
- 33:58Speaker 1: it done where you are. Like this isn't, this has
- 34:00Speaker 1: the great potential to make Lane Kiffin look really, really,
- 34:04Speaker 1: really bad. And by the way, and I don't know
- 34:07Speaker 1: if the committee would do this, but if they wanted to,
- 34:10Speaker 1: if Lane left, the committee could leave Ole Miss out
- 34:13Speaker 1: of there.
- 34:14Speaker 2: If it's close.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah, just like, hey, you're not the same team that
- 34:17Speaker 1: you were. And the problem that Lane has is Lane
- 34:21Speaker 1: can't do this like Urban Meyer after the 0-4 season
- 34:24Speaker 1: or other examples of guys that we've seen who get
- 34:26Speaker 1: to work out the job. And that's not going to
- 34:28Speaker 1: work making a move within the conference. Right, right. That's not,
- 34:33Speaker 1: nobody's going to let you do a commercial. Like Ole
- 34:35Speaker 1: Miss is not letting you do a commercial for Florida
- 34:37Speaker 1: or LSU for the rest of this, right? I am
- 34:41Speaker 1: just reminded at every turn just how much I hate
- 34:44Speaker 1: this person that I don't know. I can't stand him.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Everything about this, I hate. He's the only one that
- 34:54Speaker 1: would just lean into how messy this is at every turn.
- 34:58Speaker 1: And it didn't have to be this messy. It doesn't.
- 35:03Speaker 1: To me, you'll know how messy he is if he
- 35:08Speaker 1: goes to fucking LSU. And Ryan, no disrespect, but you
- 35:12Speaker 1: know how messy that situation is right now. Like you
- 35:15Speaker 1: add his mess to your mess. I don't think you're
- 35:19Speaker 1: going to like how that goes.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I can't imagine. There is no situation where this goes great.
- 35:28Speaker 2: We are going to make an announcement on this day
- 35:31Speaker 2: is going to make a lot of people look bad.
- 35:34Speaker 2: It's almost like we had this very famous example about
- 35:36Speaker 2: 15 years ago. We announced this very famous decision. And
- 35:41Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin is the only person in the universe who'd
- 35:43Speaker 2: be like, that's an awesome idea. Let's do that.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 35:52Speaker 2: That went well for everyone involved. Let's do it exactly
- 35:56Speaker 2: that way.
- 35:57Speaker 1: We have all this noise surrounding this when he is
- 36:01Speaker 1: so obviously the spiritual successor to Steve Spurrier. If you're
- 36:04Speaker 1: going to do this, Florida is the place for you
- 36:06Speaker 1: to go. There's no question about this. And then Spencer
- 36:10Speaker 1: gets to deal with him. And that'll be fun to watch.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I can't stand this movie.
- 36:15Speaker 2: So your three options are he stays at Ole Miss,
- 36:18Speaker 2: which you've stayed your feelings about that university. Yes. Spencer
- 36:23Speaker 2: has to deal with him.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Correct.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Or I have to deal with him.
- 36:26Speaker 1: You and Van, yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 2: You and Van have to deal with him.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys are going to– this is– I don't
- 36:32Speaker 1: know if anybody's going to be happy with the way
- 36:34Speaker 1: this goes in the end. Like they'll be happy at first.
- 36:37Speaker 1: But I don't know how happy they'll be in the end.
- 36:39Speaker 1: And by the way, all these criticisms I have of
- 36:40Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin, it ain't that easy to go find another
- 36:43Speaker 1: coach like him. He just gets to be forever young.
- 36:45Speaker 1: He's 50 years old, and we still think he's just
- 36:47Speaker 1: this close.
- 36:47Speaker 2: He's just this close. And how is Ole Miss going
- 36:51Speaker 2: to feel? You're going to do this every year? You're
- 36:54Speaker 2: going to get dragged along?
- 36:55Speaker 1: And so that's the other issue, right? He's clearly– people don't–
- 37:00Speaker 1: that Ole Miss job is weird. It should be better.
- 37:02Speaker 1: It's not better. We all know why. Right? Like, I
- 37:06Speaker 1: think that's the best way to put it. Should be better,
- 37:08Speaker 1: is not better. We all know why. But you're right.
- 37:11Speaker 1: They're going to drag. It's going to be like this
- 37:14Speaker 1: all the time. I would just also like to point
- 37:16Speaker 1: out that for all this hullabaloo, they've beaten one good
- 37:20Speaker 1: team this year. And that was Oklahoma. That's the only
- 37:27Speaker 1: good win they've got.
- 37:30Speaker 5: All right.
- 37:30Speaker 2: One quick story. The internet went ablaze on Friday as
- 37:35Speaker 2: a Mayor-elect Joran Mondami for New York City went to
- 37:38Speaker 2: go meet with President Trump and seems to have won
- 37:42Speaker 2: him over. Let's take a quick listen.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Clarifying your answer to Stephen Nelson, he asked about your
- 37:48Speaker 1: comment calling the president a fascist. And your answer was,
- 37:53Speaker 1: with President Trump and I, we've been clear about our
- 37:55Speaker 1: positions and our views. Are you affirming that you think.
- 37:58Speaker 3: President Trump is a fascist?
- 38:00Speaker 2: I've spoken about. That's okay. You can just say yes.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:04Speaker 4: It's easier.
- 38:05Speaker 1: It's easier than explaining it. I don't mind. Yo! That
- 38:14Speaker 1: was an amazing Friday. Thursday, Trump is like, the communist
- 38:19Speaker 1: is coming. By the end of it, he's like, my son. Right?
- 38:26Speaker 1: He likes him so much more than he likes J.D. Vance.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 38:31Speaker 1: He's going to tell J.D. Vance to ask Zoran how
- 38:35Speaker 1: he keep his beard like.
- 38:38Speaker 3: That.
- 38:38Speaker 1: That was top to bottom, the wildest thing. Now, I
- 38:41Speaker 1: think people were a little too surprised at the fact
- 38:44Speaker 1: that they could figure something out. They have a thing
- 38:47Speaker 1: in common. And look, no matter what Zoran is saying
- 38:49Speaker 1: in public about a lot of these establishment Democrats right now, okay?
- 38:54Speaker 1: Zoran and Trump got one major thing in common. The
- 38:58Speaker 1: people that don't like Zoran also don't like Trump. Like
- 39:04Speaker 1: they have a Venn diagram overlap of the people with
- 39:09Speaker 1: whom it doesn't work that well. Okay. Now clearly Zoran
- 39:12Speaker 1: right now is on a honey greater than vinegar tour, right?
- 39:16Speaker 1: Like he's saying nice things about Hakeem Jeffries. He made
- 39:18Speaker 1: the move in there with Trump. And by the way,
- 39:20Speaker 1: didn't back down off anything he ever said about Trump,
- 39:23Speaker 1: but I think he went in there and was like, hey, man,
- 39:25Speaker 1: I'm from Queens. You from Queens. These the people that...
- 39:30Speaker 1: hate you. These the people that hate me. Right. Kind
- 39:33Speaker 1: of like that scene in The Wire where Avon and
- 39:36Speaker 1: Marlo meet in jail and Avon is talking about, you know,
- 39:40Speaker 1: but it's West Side. Fuck these East Side bitches. Right. Right.
- 39:45Speaker 1: There's the common ground, right? You West Side, I'm West
- 39:48Speaker 1: Side in this case, you know, Queens. But you Queens,
- 39:51Speaker 1: I'm Queens. You don't like Hakeem Jeffries, I don't like
- 39:54Speaker 1: Hakeem Jeffries. You don't like a whole list of them.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Think about this, man. They played Zoran like he was Arafat.
- 40:01Speaker 1: He showed up to meet with the president and they
- 40:02Speaker 1: took a vote to be like, we the Congress say
- 40:04Speaker 1: fuck Zoran. and everything he stands for, right? Like they
- 40:08Speaker 1: took a vote to condemn social, who has this kind
- 40:12Speaker 1: of time, right? Like, what are you doing? So he
- 40:15Speaker 1: goes in there, he meets with Trump. And I think Trump,
- 40:17Speaker 1: he's like, yo, I'm a man of the people. You're
- 40:20Speaker 1: a man of the people. You and I talked about this.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Trump likes people who present well on television. Like he
- 40:25Speaker 1: has a real game recognized game on that. He sees
- 40:28Speaker 1: that about Zoran. Zoran's like, why would I come in
- 40:31Speaker 1: here and fight this man? You know what that'll get us?
- 40:33Speaker 1: The National Guard. That's what that'll get us. No, I'm
- 40:36Speaker 1: gonna go down there and talk to him and be like, look, man,
- 40:39Speaker 1: you say you down for the people. I'm down for
- 40:41Speaker 1: the people. Let's get down for the people. And Trump
- 40:43Speaker 1: is like, get a load of this guy. Okay, I
- 40:47Speaker 1: see what time it is. And here we are. How
- 40:54Speaker 1: long would this last though, Ryan?
- 40:55Speaker 2: That's my question. These honeymoon phases are always quick, but
- 40:59Speaker 2: Trump is consistently impressed by a few things. Being good
- 41:02Speaker 2: on TV and telling him and finding nice things to
- 41:07Speaker 2: say about Trump.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Like I think people misunderstand something. It's a war going
- 41:12Speaker 1: on outside. No man is safe. But you do not,
- 41:15Speaker 1: there's no value to Zoran to go in there and
- 41:17Speaker 1: like raise in hell with Trump in there. No, Trump
- 41:21Speaker 1: is easy to game up, right? He is very, we've
- 41:25Speaker 1: seen his playbook for eight years and change, right? And
- 41:28Speaker 1: he just went in there.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I mean, this is as much the apprentice playbook as
- 41:32Speaker 2: it is the presidency playbook.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. So he just went in there and I've
- 41:35Speaker 1: never seen more people just stunned and shocked. Zoran got game, man.
- 41:39Speaker 1: He goes in there with all these people. Now, of course,
- 41:41Speaker 1: Zoran's in this place and this happens with everybody that's
- 41:44Speaker 1: like him. It was going to be the case whether
- 41:46Speaker 1: it be Bernie Sanders or anybody else, which is, You
- 41:50Speaker 1: can't take on all the fights at one time. And
- 41:53Speaker 1: what that means as a result is now this is
- 41:55Speaker 1: going to get a little bit more towards center because
- 41:57Speaker 1: it has to, right? Zoran represents a base of people
- 42:02Speaker 1: who by and large never get to win anything, right?
- 42:05Speaker 1: So you largely are idealistic about everything that you feel,
- 42:09Speaker 1: but that's not how this government actually works. So once
- 42:12Speaker 1: you get on, now you've got to do some of
- 42:16Speaker 1: the things, right? And now we're seeing that, right? The
- 42:21Speaker 1: thing that's going on with Chiyose, who wants to run
- 42:24Speaker 1: against Hakeem Jeffries. And look, that's complicated for me because
- 42:27Speaker 1: that's combat jackson, right? that's what it's going to be
- 42:31Speaker 1: first and foremost to me. We'll get to the rest
- 42:33Speaker 1: of it. But the democratic socialists, they, they own little click, right?
- 42:37Speaker 1: They got somebody who from the outside, try to come
- 42:40Speaker 1: in and use their network to go run up on
- 42:42Speaker 1: this other guy. And Zoran's in there and was like, Hey,
- 42:45Speaker 1: I don't know if we can get away with this
- 42:46Speaker 1: one right now, dog. I don't know if we could,
- 42:48Speaker 1: you know, play. It's going to get really, really weird.
- 42:51Speaker 1: But if you're the Democrats, Donald Trump is getting with
- 42:55Speaker 1: the wave. Y'all are calling the wave a comment, right? Democrats,
- 43:00Speaker 1: the only people I've ever seen be like, hey, man,
- 43:02Speaker 1: it's a wave. We don't want no parts of that.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I was waving away.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Hell no. Even Trump was like, yo, get a load
- 43:10Speaker 1: of the wave. Where's my board? Damn, man. I see
- 43:14Speaker 1: what the big deal is now. Couldn't believe it. Wildest
- 43:17Speaker 1: thing I'd ever heard. I'm all over the place on this.
- 43:19Speaker 1: We'll talk more about it later, but it's going to
- 43:22Speaker 1: be a very interesting first two months of Zoran in
- 43:25Speaker 1: New York City. And I think You're not right. You
- 43:28Speaker 1: said it on here before. You said it already. Job one,
- 43:32Speaker 1: keep the National Guard out. Because if you go talk
- 43:34Speaker 1: to people about what's going down in Chicago right now,
- 43:37Speaker 1: it is insanity what is happening there. I think Zorah's like, hey, man,
- 43:43Speaker 1: let me give it a try first. Like, let's see.
- 43:45Speaker 1: He's like, I got this. Trust me. Watch. Watch what
- 43:50Speaker 1: I do. Watch what I do.
- 43:58Speaker 2: All right, Bo, voicemail line's open. We got an appearance
- 44:03Speaker 2: from one of the greatest hits. Let's take a listen.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Hey, this is DJ Mike Hitman. I got a question.
- 44:10Speaker 5: Since I'm on the right time with Beaumont Jones, Beaumont,
- 44:14Speaker 5: I'm putting my name in the candidate running for president
- 44:17Speaker 5: for 2029. I'm making everything right again. I'm going to
- 44:22Speaker 5: make America better and understand it.
- 44:26Speaker 4: I'm bringing smoking back for men can smoke in the
- 44:28Speaker 4: bar again. Men, if you want to smoke in the bar,
- 44:31Speaker 4: I'm bringing it back. Vote for me. DJ Mike here, man.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Bring the smoking back.
- 44:37Speaker 5: Now, it's your choice if you want to smoke and die,
- 44:39Speaker 5: but I'm bringing it back. Women, you are allowed to
- 44:42Speaker 5: wear short dresses again and.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Have some dresses again.
- 44:46Speaker 5: Ladies, if you vote for me, I'm bringing everything back legalized.
- 44:51Speaker 5: I'm running for president for 2029. I wish I had
- 44:55Speaker 5: my jerry curls. I would really be flat, but.
- 44:58Speaker 4: I don't have no jerry curls. I just got grease.
- 45:02Speaker 5: I'm taking the baby oil and rubbing it back on
- 45:04Speaker 5: my head again because I'm running for president. I'm bringing
- 45:07Speaker 5: everything back. Everything will be legalized the right way. Fellas,
- 45:10Speaker 5: you can grab a Cadillac with the TV back in it. Okay, ladies,
- 45:16Speaker 5: you can go back shopping again and spend other people money,
- 45:19Speaker 5: even your own man or your mistress.
- 45:22Speaker 4: It don't matter. I'm bringing everything back the right way. Bo,
- 45:26Speaker 4: you need to hit me up.
- 45:27Speaker 5: You need to get your producer, all y'all be my candidates.
- 45:31Speaker 5: Stop putting money in my pot. I'm going to run
- 45:33Speaker 5: for president for 2029. I'm going to be the first
- 45:38Speaker 5: president on the West Side of Chicago stepping in party.
- 45:42Speaker 5: We're going to bring everything back and make it right.
- 45:45Speaker 5: If we can make we legal, we can make.
- 45:48Speaker 4: Everything else legal. And Nancy Reagan will agree with me.
- 45:52Speaker 4: Have a good one, Bo.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Are we going to have a special election in 2029, Ryan?
- 46:02Speaker 2: Trump, Zoran, DJ Mike Hitman?
- 46:05Speaker 1: Hey, man, let me tell you something. You get a Zoran,
- 46:07Speaker 1: Mike Hitman ticket, that will be unstoppable. I am dead
- 46:13Speaker 1: ass when I say that. How do we get Mike
- 46:15Speaker 1: and Zoran in the same room? Somebody call Pablo. He
- 46:19Speaker 1: out here kicking it with Zoran. He can help make
- 46:20Speaker 1: that happen.
- 46:22Speaker 2: But wait, there's more.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Hey, Bo, this is DJ Mike here, man. I got
- 46:27Speaker 4: a question. I need to be on your show. Just
- 46:30Speaker 4: give me a minute.
- 46:31Speaker 5: You know, I take 15, 20, 30 minutes. Give me
- 46:35Speaker 5: an hour. I want to talk about these boys spending
- 46:39Speaker 5: the other people's money gambling.
- 46:41Speaker 4: You know, I know the whole detail. I can go.
- 46:44Speaker 5: Behind the scenes and give you the whole thing. They
- 46:47Speaker 5: give you that news report and stuff. But the man
- 46:49Speaker 5: on the street telling me different things, Bo. You need
- 46:52Speaker 5: to get me on the show. And I'm going to
- 46:54Speaker 5: tell you, it ain't going to be nice. These boys
- 46:58Speaker 5: is gambling in debt, spending other people money. I know
- 47:03Speaker 5: the real story. I know why they're doing it. First
- 47:06Speaker 5: of all, the NBA must ain't paying these boys. Or
- 47:10Speaker 5: must ain't giving them a good pension.
- 47:12Speaker 4: Come on, boys, let's do this. We got a new commissioner.
- 47:15Speaker 4: Soft as a whistle. He's soft. I think I should
- 47:19Speaker 4: run for commissioner. But, boy, hit me up. And let
- 47:22Speaker 4: me come on the show. And I got some stories
- 47:24Speaker 4: to tell you, too, Bo. I got some great stories
- 47:26Speaker 4: in Chicago. And when I went to Mexico. I got
- 47:30Speaker 4: some great stories. You need to hit me up, Bo.
- 47:32Speaker 4: Told you, Bo. Have a good one.
- 47:35Speaker 1: I will say this. Mike Hitman is NBA commissioner. That's
- 47:37Speaker 1: what we need. We need an NBA commissioner in a
- 47:40Speaker 1: fur coat.
- 47:43Speaker 2: That would change some things. All right. Here's our last one.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Hey, Bo. It's Gary. I'm here in Atlanta. Long-time listener,
- 47:51Speaker 3: huge fan. The episode where you were talking about Nico
- 47:56Speaker 3: Harrison putting Nicola Jokic and Drew Holiday in the same tier,
- 48:00Speaker 3: it got me thinking about a time where I had
- 48:03Speaker 3: a buddy of mine. He kind of did the same thing,
- 48:06Speaker 3: but it was with football. So back when we were
- 48:13Speaker 3: working together part-time, he went to high school with Jake Fromm.
- 48:19Speaker 3: So we're all around the same age. And when Jake
- 48:22Speaker 3: Fromm got drafted, whatever year it was, fourth round, fifth round,
- 48:28Speaker 3: I remember texting him and I was like, oh man,
- 48:31Speaker 3: you know, this is great. You know, I'm glad he
- 48:32Speaker 3: got drafted. Hopefully he makes the team. And Bo, this
- 48:37Speaker 3: man proceeded to tell me, and I quote, I don't know, man.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I think he's going to beat out Josh Allen for
- 48:45Speaker 3: that number one QB spot. Yeah. He really said that. And, oh,
- 48:52Speaker 3: he meant it. Like, he really, really thought Jake Fromm
- 48:56Speaker 3: was better than Josh Allen. I wish I was picking
- 49:01Speaker 3: this up. And you see where Jake is now selling insurance,
- 49:08Speaker 3: which is fitting given his name. And, yeah, I just
- 49:13Speaker 3: wanted to let you know that story because To this day,
- 49:18Speaker 3: I still can't believe he really said that to me
- 49:22Speaker 3: and to add a little sprinkle on top this is
- 49:26Speaker 3: the same man who is also a diehard UGA fan
- 49:32Speaker 3: and leading into the SEC championship the year LSU won
- 49:36Speaker 3: the whole title he was telling me A huge fan. Yeah, man.
- 49:42Speaker 3: I think we got a good chance to beat y'all today.
- 49:45Speaker 3: I think we're going to win. And Bo, with no hesitation,
- 49:49Speaker 3: because we were on the phone, I told this man,
- 49:52Speaker 3: I said, I'm not afraid of Jake Fromm. I'm not.
- 49:59Speaker 3: And you can ask Ryan about that stat line, because
- 50:03Speaker 3: Ryan probably remembers it. So, yeah. He, uh, He loves
- 50:10Speaker 3: Jake Fromm. That's his boy, but he did not want
- 50:14Speaker 3: to come to the realization that he wasn't that good because,
- 50:20Speaker 3: like I said, he's selling insurance now. So, yeah. Thanks
- 50:25Speaker 3: for everything. Love the show. Kill with the good work.
- 50:30Speaker 1: I appreciate it. Now, to be fair to Jake Fromm
- 50:32Speaker 1: and your Jake Fromm loving friend, when Jake Fromm joined
- 50:36Speaker 1: the Bills, it was right after Josh Allen was throwing
- 50:38Speaker 1: Hail Mary's square bodies in the playoffs. I like we
- 50:42Speaker 1: we hadn't had a proof of concept yet on Josh
- 50:44Speaker 1: Allen at that time. But, oh, hey, man, we all
- 50:47Speaker 1: got to have we all we all got to be
- 50:48Speaker 1: a fan of somebody. Right.
- 50:49Speaker 2: To be fair, I mean, the person he might have
- 50:51Speaker 2: talked to was Kirby Smart. So that's.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Totally on the board. That's the guy that loved him
- 50:57Speaker 1: through Jake Fromm. Good gracious. My thing is, Kirby is
- 51:01Speaker 1: still an element of Saban 1.0 to Kirby, right? Keep
- 51:05Speaker 1: it close. Run the ball. Quarterback, don't mess nothing up.
- 51:09Speaker 1: But hey, ladies and gentlemen, thanks so much for joining
