- 1:14Your Hands that we're going to begin now. And for the first season in
- 1:19nineteen forty nine, we had two of the episodes, and we have five
- 1:23of the episodes from the second season, and none of the episodes from the
- 1:29third season. The good news is we have by my account, we have
- 1:33all the episodes from this fourth season. In the first two seasons, it
- 1:40aired as a replacement series for People Are Funny and it was sponsored by Raleigh
- 1:46Cigarettes. In the third season, it was sponsored by Hinz Foods, replacing
- 1:52Ozzie and Harriet. This season it was substituting for Father Father Knows Best,
- 1:59and it was the State. This series ran only seven weeks in the summer
- 2:04of nineteen fifty two. Now we'll let you know this first episode is a
- 2:09bit more challenging. You have to pay attention as all of the intro and
- 2:15narrations and commercials public a service announcements have all been cut from this episode.
- 2:21So when we go into the show, we're going right into Jonathan kag talking
- 2:25to his secretary in dictating a letter. We haven't missed any of the plot,
- 2:31but all of the patting is gone. All right. Well, there
- 2:37with that said, let's go ahead and we will listen to day's episode of
- 2:42A Life with Your Hands from July the tenth of nineteen fifty two. This
- 2:46one is gangster murdered. One more letter, Miss Rogers, and then you
- 2:51may go home. Thank you, mister k and Ry. We got a
- 2:53long day. This will be the last telegram to Captain J. K.
- 2:58Hutchinson south Wind blodge the rosa key. There's a box number here. You
- 3:02can take it off this envelope. Dear Ken, thanks for letting me know
- 3:07the Tarpeter going wild off the coast, leaving tonight. Plan to join you
- 3:13day after tomorrow. As regards I guess that cleans up the desk. I
- 3:17can't think of anything. Now you'll know where to reach me. I hope
- 3:21you can get away this time, do I? This will be the fourth
- 3:23try. Every time I plan a fishing trip, somebody murders somebody. That's
- 3:28the way, with the city travel all around it, we'll be like this
- 3:30on a peaceful island in the Caribbean. I hope you're right, but I
- 3:34found that murder isn't very careful about taking a place to happen. As you've
- 3:37heard me say, you never know when you may be called upon to testify
- 3:40to an act of violence, which you will become involved quite innocently. Even
- 3:45now, on one of those peaceful islands in the Caribbean, there may be
- 3:49a crime in the making. What a crummy place, however, like to
- 4:01drag me down here, I'll never know the key South wind lines the end
- 4:08of the world, Jims, June, listen to me, pay something.
- 4:15What do you want me to say? Get your nose out of that movie
- 4:16magazine and pay attention. Are you reading that trash for anyway? You'll read.
- 4:20You'll read sure travel for the beautiful Caribbean alone on a romantic island idea.
- 4:27You said it was smart, boss, You said we could hide out
- 4:30here, have the plane pick us up and fly us on down to South
- 4:32America. You should sure, Sure, I said it. I think I
- 4:35see the rest of my life. Make He told you you might have trouble
- 4:40hiring a guy with a plane to meet us here, take us out of
- 4:42the country, time and trouble. That's what make he said, Well,
- 4:46I paid him five grands to take care of plenty of trouble. You gave
- 4:49him the dough, didn't just sure? Boys, you're right? Well what
- 4:51told him up? I told you to get your notes out of that magazine.
- 4:58Hey, you don't have to knock it out of my John's getting meat.
- 5:01Same people for three weeks. I'm thinking their faces. How that guy,
- 5:04that Rayo Buckland can live here the year around it? He's not he
- 5:09olds the place. Oh he's not. He's run a joint like this,
- 5:12not even a radio. Hi. You figure he ever knows the track week
- 5:15of Maybe doesn't care. Maybe like the piece and quiet and going out with
- 5:19guests like Captain Hutchinson. The fist. Kind of like him, don't you.
- 5:26He's sixty years old. Well so is the guy you are going around
- 5:29with. When I married you. Older men know how to talk nice to
- 5:31a girl. Away from him, I can't read. I can't talk to
- 5:34anybody. Well, that's too bad. You sure have a tough don't you.
- 5:38Listen? Baby, Yo, two chips both there were punks when I
- 5:41found you. You'll still be nicolas Ante. It wasn't for Dan Wilmore.
- 5:45As long as I'm taking up the check. You'll do what I say.
- 5:46What are we supposed to do? We're waiting too, No, you used
- 5:50to get yourself steamed up, Danny. Oh look, I'm trying to get
- 5:55out of the country. If the Fed gets to me, I'm good for
- 5:58twenty years. The plane old me here when like you're on a vacation,
- 6:02Well, I have a good time. Get ready to go back home.
- 6:05I'm tired of your boat mutual. All right, what's keeping you here?
- 6:09Want me to tell you? Fifty grand I got stuck in by me moss
- 6:13eaton fish hanging in our bedroom. That's what's keeping you here? Now?
- 6:17Hey, we helped you get that dough boys. You think I needed you?
- 6:21You think you're swapped. The two of you figure out a job like
- 6:24that. Go on, honey, tell him you're a big show to know
- 6:28it. By now, you've been bragging about it every since you got here.
- 6:30Going for their faith, Danny, the cops are after me. I'm
- 6:34going to South America and I got fifty thousand dollars in my bedroom by Danny,
- 6:40not leave it alone. Afternoon everybody. Oh hi, mister Buckler,
- 6:47folks and join yourselves, are you? Yeah? Yeah, we're having a
- 6:50great time sitting there in the lobby all afternoon watching a bug flying around the
- 6:55room. How much excitement I can handy stand it? It is pretty quiet
- 6:59in the room. Was a key. I'd be glad to take you out
- 7:01fishing tomorrow, pulling out here in a cup of days. Oh, in
- 7:05the meantime, how about a little service? Huh? You have a complaint
- 7:09of some time? Yeah, you might say that the food is no good.
- 7:12I wouldn't need it in a nightclub. The beds have rocks. And
- 7:15how you stay out of this. Oh, he's doing the best. He
- 7:17can't for it. Yeah, I'm sorry you don't like it here. I
- 7:23don't mind him, mister Bucklin. He's had a lot of very nervous tension
- 7:28lately. As that's why we're here. My husband needs risk from his chosen
- 7:31profession. Yeah, it's important to his health and continued well being. I
- 7:36can understand that a lot of men work too. Hug. Oh, everything's
- 7:41all right, I sure hope so well. Captain Hutchinson will be up from
- 7:46the dock before long. I'd better go see you about some supper. Okay,
- 7:53mister Bucklin, Okay, that old brother you too, and talk your
- 8:00arm off. Question. You forgot to tell him about your money. Forget
- 8:05it where I can bring it up. You've been shown about it ever since
- 8:07we got here. He read the magazine, and you'll keep your mouth shut.
- 8:11I'm going for a walk back later. Don't bother on my account.
- 8:20Tell me an apple tip lea. Oh, well should here? Yeah?
- 8:24Thanks? Boss is kind of worried. Yeah, getting on his nerves all
- 8:31this waiting around. That's too bad, shame much. A sweet guy,
- 8:39nice to everybody, talks like a Gentleman's terrible if anything happened to him.
- 8:46Yeah, you know, sometimes I think to myself, June, Honey,
- 8:52wouldn't it be too bad if anything serious happened to Danny like he got sick
- 8:58one the Federals pick them, or he got himself killed. Yeah, that's
- 9:07too almost anything, wouldn't it be just too bad? Katherine? Yes,
- 9:20Captain Mushington, who is it? Here's me, Captain real Buffler. Fine
- 9:28say, I want to tell you that was a good shepher we had tonight.
- 9:30I feel comfortable and very well fit, and I'm glad you liked it.
- 9:35Captain. Would you mind keeping your voice down? They're right inside.
- 9:39You might hear some reports here? Do you mean the other guests Wilmore is
- 9:43and their friends. I want to talk to you about you haven't paid much
- 9:48attention to him. Many try to be friendly, missus. Wilmore has been
- 9:52cordial, but the men don't see you want my company, and they don't
- 9:54like me either. My way of thinking, people that don't like other people
- 10:01are usually trying to hide something. You think. They come in and out
- 10:05the door locked. I hear a lot more than my guests think. I
- 10:07do. I imagine you do. A couple of times I've heard and fighting
- 10:13among themselves. Their fugitive criminals kept them nah, But then your imagination heard
- 10:18him. Wilmore he's the boss and the other one helps him. They're waiting
- 10:24here for somebody to pick him up and take him to South America. I
- 10:28think the police are after the whole crew. That's true. We better,
- 10:33of course, we're eight miles from the main land, but they shouldn't be
- 10:37reported. That's why I'm talking to you now. You'd be curious if I
- 10:41tried to leave the island tonight. I don't think you suspect do they.
- 10:45I wouldn't like to take a chance blame you. Tomorrow morning, we'll put
- 10:50out at dawn and act like we're going after top Fu, where we get
- 10:54out of cycle, head for town, and come back with some of the
- 10:56men tomorrow morning. That's soon enough. If we act not true and don't
- 11:01let on we know who they are both. You're right. I'm going to
- 11:03bed early like I always do. I was going to sit up and reading
- 11:07that anyway, that's the idea. Can we go right on like we don't
- 11:11expect the thing? Then tomorrow we'll have the police over here and catch all
- 11:16three of them. I'm going up to the resort, missus Spenson. I'll
- 11:22be back in a two minutes. Yes, the Suspenson please do sit Hello.
- 11:43Hello you a good evening. How do you do. I heard the
- 11:52boat, but I thought it went on by, and I had my guy
- 11:54tie up at your dog. I hope you don't mind at all. I
- 11:58realize it is quite I'm reading We'll be but passing, and I saw the
- 12:03line, and I hope you wouldn't be disturbed. I was just reading.
- 12:07My name's Captain Hutchinson. I'm one of the guests to stup Win Resorts,
- 12:11oh, one of the guests. Well, I suppose you'll do. But
- 12:15then, what did you have in mind? Well, I suppose you can
- 12:20tell me what I want to know to be of service. Have a chair,
- 12:22missus, Miss miss Irma May Jones. I'm a school teacher from Ohio
- 12:28Tea Bill, Ohio Biology. Very please, you know you, Captain Hutchinson.
- 12:35I am after seashells. You come to the right place. In the
- 12:37last two weeks, I have nearly completed my collection of known seashells found on
- 12:41the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. A pound in this area, naturally,
- 12:46naturally, I need one perfect gennonia and a perfect lion's paw, and
- 12:50I intend to find them very worthy endeavor. I am here to inquire if
- 12:54the beaches of La rosa key might be a good hunting brown. I've seen
- 13:00a lot of shells lying around. You're not a collector. Oh no,
- 13:03no, I fish apron mostly Yeah, well, captain, is there anyone
- 13:09on the island who could tell me about shelling conditions? The owner of the
- 13:13resort, mister Buckland the truth. Everybody else is going to bed. I
- 13:16hate to disturb it. Buckland, it's late. If you come back tomorrow,
- 13:20I'm sure he'd be well. I had intended to try some of the
- 13:22islands south that's here. No, no, I'm afraid I couldn't. That
- 13:28sounds like someone moving about, shudder, banging against the house shop as an
- 13:33off chance. A collector never likes to leave any stone unturned, so speaking
- 13:37quite true. Well, you could ask the owner of the resort if the
- 13:41beaches might be productive, and then if I happened to pass by again,
- 13:46I could inquire. That's good, lady, you come back and I'll let
- 13:48you know what I find out. What is it you're looking for? A
- 13:52perfect genonia and alliance, for both are quite uncommon. I'll try to remember
- 13:56the names and jail Mister Buckler to be going. I should know if anyone
- 14:01would. He's lived around here twenty five years. Well, thank you very
- 14:05much, Captain. I'm sorry to have deserved not at all glad. Oh
- 14:11my quindness. Yes, I hear him, Dan Wilmore, I'd better be
- 14:15easy. Whoop me up, Dan Wilmore. Buck. Oh, I knew
- 14:18something would happen. Who was criminal? Is in trouble for you? I
- 14:31might have the decency to wear more than four I've seen then, well,
- 14:52Captain, Captain Hutchinson, I'm glad to see you. They got your telegram,
- 14:58Jonathan, I'm except in a murder. This man was stabbed, a
- 15:01dead he fell at to put in the bed. His wife was asleep in
- 15:05the windows and doors were locked. Looks bad for her. I heard your
- 15:09testimony from the back of the room. But why don't you get up there
- 15:11and help that Coroner Rowley? Straight? Missile? You keep us here for
- 15:13a week. Besides, I don't know anything about it. I was talking
- 15:16to a woman in the lobby. I'll see what I can do, Captain,
- 15:20if I can get through the crowd. Oh, excuse me, pardon
- 15:24me? Please? Can you can you let me buy here? Thank you?
- 15:31Coroner Corner Raleigh. Yes, what is it? My name is Jonathan?
- 15:35Kay, I'm a lawyer. Nobody needs a lawyer. No one's under
- 15:39suspicion. I understand that, you see, Sir, I often have the
- 15:43privilege of serving as an amicas Curia. Oh yes, yes, I'm serving
- 15:48only the court. Seeking the truth is my sole interest. Oh yes,
- 15:52I've heard it. Glad to have you, miss Kay. Ladies and gentlemen
- 15:58and Amigas Curia is a friend to the core. He does not represent anyone
- 16:03involved in the crime. He's not paid even this. Gig uses his expert
- 16:07ability to cross examine witnesses to discover the truth. Gig called anyone you want
- 16:15to I've been talking to real Bucklin here. I'd like to ask him a
- 16:18few questions. Mister Bucklin, where were you when Daniel Wilmore called for help?
- 16:25I just told the card please answer my question. I was in bed,
- 16:29half asleep. It was hot, and I'd been up to get some
- 16:33water out of the pitcher when I heard the yelling. I put on a
- 16:36bathroom and ran the room. We broke down the door. Where did you
- 16:41find the body? A few feet inside the door? Where was missus Wilmore
- 16:45sitting up in bed screaming her head off? Where was the murder weapon the
- 16:51right at the foot of the bed. The knife was a good ten feet
- 16:55from Wilmore's body. Who found the knife? We all noticed it at once.
- 17:00A guess. Did you ever hear missus Wilmore argue with her husband?
- 17:03They are good quite a bit. Was Wilmore friendly with chips? Larded?
- 17:07All three of them fault like Tomkins. That's how I knew they were criminals.
- 17:12Heard him yelling each other about going to South America to get away from
- 17:17the law. Why didn't you report this to the police. I was going
- 17:19to take my boat in the mainland the next morning. I just didn't like
- 17:23they were mean. He was the worst talked Roughs, ordered me around,
- 17:30wanted extra tension. They were bad Lartin. I didn't want him hanging around.
- 17:36Did you tell Wilmore you were going to report him to the authority?
- 17:38Of course I didn't. I'd have bidden the dead one if I had.
- 17:42Mister Bucklin, why did you say you broke down the door? I hero,
- 17:48sir who We had to break down the door to get in, Like
- 17:52I said, it was locked inside, and we checked all the windows and
- 17:56they're locked from the inside too. Thank you, mister Bucklin. I would
- 17:59like to old Chips Larnard. Mister Larnard, do you agree that the murder
- 18:06room was locked from the inside? Yeah, Missus Wilmore and her husband,
- 18:11Danny were alone in the room. That's right. Why would mister Wilmore lock
- 18:15the windows and the door? Maybe he wanted to be alone? Answer my
- 18:19question please. He was carrying a lot of money, fifty thousand bucks.
- 18:26What was your connection with mister Wilmore? I was supposed to keep him from
- 18:30getting killed. Danny Wilmore was a swindler, a gambler, a racketeer,
- 18:34and the money was the proceeds from his activities. That's right. Where is
- 18:40that money now? I sure wish I knew why? Oh, you couldn't
- 18:45have made it without me? Where were you when Wilmore called for help and
- 18:49fad asleep? I woke up. I ran down the hall and helped buckling
- 18:55in the captain butt down the door. Did you have a gun? I
- 18:56didn't even put on my pants. What were you're wearing a pair of shorts?
- 19:02I can't expect the guy to sleep in a furred coat on such a
- 19:04hot night. You were Wilmore's bodyguard. You heard him shot for help?
- 19:08Yet you didn't even take time to pick up your gun. I can do
- 19:11all right with my bare hands. Did you get along with Wilmore? I
- 19:17worked for that's all. Did missus Wilmore work for her husband? Yeah?
- 19:22Yeah? And the evening before they had a scrap. Afterwards, she told
- 19:26me it'd be a shame if Danny got killed or something. The way she
- 19:30said it, she wished he would. That will be all. This is
- 19:37Wilmore. Please take the stand, Missus Wilmore. Did you kill your husband?
- 19:45No? No, sir, do you know who did? I don't
- 19:48have any evidence, but I need facts, not opinions. Why was your
- 19:52husband killed? His money when he hit it behind a tough fish on the
- 19:56bedroom wall. Whoever killed him took some money? Mister Larnat says, you
- 20:00breast the feeling that you wished he was dead. I said what he told
- 20:03you, but I didn't mean it, Harness. I don't know anything about
- 20:06who killed Danny. When I woke up, he was standing at the foot
- 20:08of the bed, just yelling, and then he fell. Are you trying
- 20:11to make this coroner's jury believe you slept peacefully while someone entered the room killed
- 20:15your husband, took his money and escaped through a locked door or window.
- 20:19I don't know what happened. I didn't kill him. This is Wilmore.
- 20:25Did you dream at all during the night? Yes, yes I did.
- 20:30Why can you recall the dream? Well, it was a nightmare. There
- 20:37were guns going off and I was trying to hide. I was scared a
- 20:41corner Raleigh. I wish to point out that one sound may stimulate a dream.
- 20:45The nature of the sound may not be interpreted accurately. It may be
- 20:49confused in the dreamer's subconscious mind. This is an established scientific fact. It's
- 20:55possible that missus Wilmore actually heard a sound like a shot being fired while murder
- 21:00was taking place. Mister Keig, Yes, could I ask a question?
- 21:03Go on? I've been around top guys a long time. I've been around
- 21:08when people got killed and when people were planning to kill people. I read
- 21:12detective stories and I go to the movies. No, maybe I don't ask
- 21:17very smart, but with what I know, person secondhand? Is this your
- 21:21question? With what I know? Would I kill my husband in a lost
- 21:25room when nobody else around to get playing for it? Kill me? Could
- 21:27anybody think I'm that? Though? Not unless they thought you were very clever,
- 21:32missus Wilmore, Corner Raleigh, I would like to request the recess until
- 21:38day after tomorrow. I wish to locate an innocent advice then, a person
- 21:42completely unaware of what took place that night, yet might have been close enough
- 21:47to help us learn the truth, or Miss keg until I called you together
- 21:52again to continue the inquest. This jury is excuse well, Corner Raleigh.
- 22:12I would like to publicly thank Miss Jones for returning from her home in Ohio
- 22:17to testify at this inquet. I considered it, My duties were great.
- 22:22Put you, Miss Jones, proceed miss Key, Miss Jones, you were
- 22:27present at south Wind Lodge on a Rosa key on the night that deceased Daniel
- 22:32Wilmore met his death. I was in the lounge talking to Captain Hutchinson,
- 22:36and then suddenly the most unusual things began to happen. So I'll come to
- 22:41that. Please answer my question. My answer is, if you were present
- 22:45at the resort, how did you arrive at the island by boat? I
- 22:49charted it for the day for mister Finson, and he taken me to visit
- 22:53some of the islands in the vicinity. What did you do. When you
- 22:56arrived, I walked from the dark through the resort. You saw no one,
- 23:00only Captain Hutchinson. He was sitting in the lobby or lounge reading.
- 23:06What were the weather conditions? Oh, heart and fast. It was not
- 23:11uncomfortable on the water, but on land it was muddy. The windows of
- 23:14the resort were open, the doors. Yes. Was the captain alone when
- 23:18you entered the lobby or lounge? Yes? Yes, he told me everyone
- 23:22else had gone to bed. Did you have reasons about this? Well,
- 23:26he may have thought they were in bed asleep. But while we were talking,
- 23:30I heard a window open. You're sure it was open? Oh?
- 23:33Absolutely. The few seconds later it was closed banged down. You heard the
- 23:37window open naturally, then slammed down, Yes, sir, go on,
- 23:42Well, I believe that's all I can tell you. I informed the Captain
- 23:47that I was anxious to leave. I was thanking him for his information just
- 23:49one moment. Why were you anxious to leave? And I was worried about
- 23:55it? When I, well, something made me concerned. I I I
- 23:59started for the door very hard, Miss Joones, Oh coh. The banging
- 24:07noise like well, I thought a wind must have cut off. Suddenly did
- 24:12Captain Hutchinson, not of the south. We told me it was a shutter.
- 24:15You heard the window open, yes, then you heard it close.
- 24:18Then a man shouted shout at one a name Ships. I believe I've been
- 24:26thinking about it on the plane hid here. Yes, I was like a
- 24:29man shouting, a woman screaming, and that gentleman mister Bucklin ran through the
- 24:33room in his bathroom, and and that one Ships Slarnard he dashed by and
- 24:40just his shots. What did you do? I blushed, yes, of
- 24:44course. What happened next, Miss Jones. The entire experience was shocking,
- 24:48faint for a moment. Then they were kicking at the door. So I
- 24:52ran to the dock and told mister Swinson my experience, and we headed for
- 24:56the mainland. On your way to the mainland, did the wind and waves
- 25:00tossed the boat around? Who? It was? Perfectly calm, mister Keke.
- 25:03Whatever gave you the idea there was a storm, Thank you, Miss
- 25:06Jones. That is all. Oh well, I'm all right now. I
- 25:08just feel faith for a moment, but I'm sure i can go on.
- 25:11That will not be necessary. Your testimony as to what you heard has given
- 25:15us the truth. Quiet, please, White, Everyone, please quiet corner
- 25:27Raleigh. You are a physician, are you not? I am as a
- 25:32doctor. Do you believe it is possible for a man fatally stabbed to close
- 25:36a window, lock it, and walk ten feet or more before he fell.
- 25:38Possible, But that is the answer to the locked room. Daniel Wilmore
- 25:44was stabbed by someone outside the window. He pulled away, leaving the knife
- 25:48in the murderer's hand. To keep from being struck again, he slammed the
- 25:52window down, threw the lock, and staggered toward the door, shouting for
- 25:55his friend and bodyguard, Chip's liner, don't you live larned, Don't be
- 26:07a fool. Don't I'm just drop that gun dropping her. I'll come get
- 26:15it. The testimony of the innocent bystander can be interpreted in only one way.
- 26:21Stand still honored. Daniel Wilmore's killer get outside the bedroom. He was
- 26:27there when miss Jones walked up to the house. He planned to enter and
- 26:32take the money, but the window was locked. Shoot. The killer attracted
- 26:37his victim by banging the shutter against the house. Miss Jones heard that sound.
- 26:42The sound that awakened Wilmore made him go to the window and open it
- 26:45to fasten the shutter. The killer struck, but the window was slammed and
- 26:51locked in his face. He ran inside, helped brake down the door,
- 26:55and dropped the knife at the foot of the bed. Was short. I
- 26:59couldn't have carried it night, for they have seen it. Okay, I
- 27:02didn't kill Danny. I know you didn't give me your gun. Okay,
- 27:08Okay, Corner Raleigh, who could have hidden outside the window without being seen?
- 27:15Who could have carried a blood stained knife without it being noticed? A
- 27:19man who was wearing a black bathrobe. Maybe I don't need the chill and
- 27:25see you. Maybe you're tired of taking orders, cooking meals, carrying suitcases.
- 27:29Nobody will believe that you wanted the money, and you haven't. You
- 27:32returned after the murder, before the police searched. You removed fifty thousand dollars
- 27:37from behind That money from honest men, men like me. He was no
- 27:41good criminals. I have more right, Jordan, Yes, rail Bucklin,
- 27:48you killed Danny Wilmore. Thanks to the testimony of a completely innocent bystander,
- 27:56Miss Irma May Jones, we have learned the murderer of Daniel Wilmore. You
- 28:03did it mister Keig solved a murder by questioning an innocent bystanding the honest people
- 28:10of the county think Conali. Our system of justice is based on the ability
- 28:15of witnesses to testify accurately. Because of this, we can usually learn the
- 28:19truth. When will we see you again? Mister Keig is a meek is
- 28:22curio. Whatever I'm needed, I'll be here. Good night, mister Keig,
- 28:26good night, welcome back. Well, as Jonathan Kaigg doesn't usually practice
- 28:33law there, his promise of being there whenever they needed him was perhaps a
- 28:41little ambitious. He's kind of interesting him admitting that he cannot go on vacation
- 28:48without running into a murder, which is the problem that all of the great
- 28:55Sluice face because if they're not solving a murder of the well, there's no
- 29:00story. So we need them to run into a murder wherever they go this
- 29:06spot. What problems that might represent for their recreation? Well, we turned
- 29:10out a listener comments and feedback, and I wrote an email here from Richard
- 29:14who says, Adam, I'm really enjoying this new series, referring to a
- 29:18wife in your hands. Perhaps I haven't paid attention previously, but I find
- 29:22it interesting that Mike Wallace is the announcer I listen to your shows and others
- 29:26to get my fixed daily at work. Thanks so much for your great work.
- 29:30Well, thanks so much, Rich And it was interesting to hear Mike
- 29:34Wallace and some of his performances before he found his fame as a newsman.
- 29:41For sixty minutes previously, we played an actual radio detective back in Crime on
- 29:49the Waterfront. There's another series that I'm planning on eventually doing called Crime Files
- 29:56of Lamont, where he is one of the actors who played the role of
- 30:00Lamont, though there were several Flamands as well as several incarnations of that particular
- 30:07series, but that will be interesting to hear as well. Really one of
- 30:11those Wallace is one of those figures whose radio career didn't really give any guess
- 30:21as to what his ultimate claim to fame as well as his media legacy would
- 30:27be. All right, Well, that we'll do it for today, join
- 30:30us tomorrow for let George do it, and we'll be back next week with
- 30:34another episode of A Life in your Hands. In the meanwhile, send your
- 30:38comments to Box thirteen at Great Detectives dot net. Follow us on Twitter at
- 30:42radio detectives and call us to await nine nine one, four seven eight three
- 30:48from Boise, Idaho. This is your host, Adam Graham. Sign and off.
