- 0:47Speaker 1: believe it. I think this is the last one, please,
- 0:50Speaker 1: thank God, please. And I do want to predict that
- 0:53Speaker 1: this will also be a shorter type of recap. Yeah,
- 0:57Speaker 1: there wasn't a whole lot that happened in this episode.
- 1:00Speaker 2: But we might have an after show.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We might have an after show because there are some
- 1:04Speaker 1: thoughts that we probably want to reserve for just the patrons,
- 1:09Speaker 1: because we want to keep it cute, because we are
- 1:11Speaker 1: discussing a very important subject matter, which is the passing
- 1:15Speaker 1: of Garrison Brown. Now, before we get into the recap.

- 2:27Speaker 1: are hot. There's a lot of reactors out there, and
- 2:30Speaker 1: I think we're better than all of that.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Well, we are finally at five point two, right, Okay, great,

- 2:41Speaker 1: so thank you in.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Is there anything we need to talk about ahead of time?
- 2:48Speaker 1: How about takeaways? Let me ask you. Did you have
- 2:50Speaker 1: a takeaway after watching this episode?
- 2:53Speaker 2: I was just really sad, honestly, like I cried again.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I'm kind of tired of crying the last couple episodes.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I meanbviously, there's a reason for it, because Garrison's death
- 3:03Speaker 2: is really sad, and I'm tired of Cody, and I'll
- 3:07Speaker 2: just leave it at that until we get to the afternoon.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it. Yeah. My takeaway was it was
- 3:13Speaker 1: really great to see Leon. Yeah, that was cool, and
- 3:16Speaker 1: I loved seeing just all of the kids together, supporting
- 3:20Speaker 1: one another and also supporting the og moms.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That gave me a nice little vibration in my heart. Ball.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that was really sweet.
- 3:28Speaker 1: It was nice.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Okay, Well, without further ado, let's get into the recap.
- 3:32Speaker 1: This is season nineteen, episode twenty five, entitled.
- 3:36Speaker 2: He Heals the Broken hearted Okay, Yeah, it's sad. We
- 3:41Speaker 2: have the family gathering in Wyoming. It looks like it's
- 3:43Speaker 2: some kind of like Airbnb or something like they rented
- 3:46Speaker 2: a big old farmhouse. Everybody's gathered for Garrison's burial. We
- 3:53Speaker 2: have a fishing trip that they're going to go to
- 3:56Speaker 2: as a family in some town. I didn't catch where.
- 4:00Speaker 1: It was, like the Big Horn Mountains or something. I
- 4:03Speaker 1: wanted to zillow it because it looked really beautiful. Yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 1: if there's any property that's available for a couple of rakos.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I told you Wyoming's kind of nice. It is nice,
- 4:12Speaker 2: but they go fishing kind of as like a I
- 4:15Speaker 2: don't know memorial for Garrison because he liked fishing and
- 4:18Speaker 2: he liked being out Wyoming. Wyoming is the family's closest
- 4:23Speaker 2: uh point to roots for them. They spent a lot
- 4:26Speaker 2: of time out there. We again hear more about the
- 4:29Speaker 2: stories of the kids going to the ranch, not Doctor
- 4:32Speaker 2: Phil's the ranch, but Wynn Brown's ranch where they went
- 4:36Speaker 2: to work, and that was really sweet. We see some
- 4:38Speaker 2: flashbacks and stuff like that. And while they're fishing, we
- 4:42Speaker 2: have like a lot of family photos being taken because
- 4:44Speaker 2: we have like a lot of the kids there, like
- 4:46Speaker 2: Leon and their partners there, Gwendolen and her wife Bia
- 4:51Speaker 2: are there and that's really cool. And Christine's taking lots
- 4:56Speaker 2: of photos because when Garrison was alive, she didn't take
- 4:59Speaker 2: enough photo and he also didn't like his photo being taken.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So now Christine is definitely the mom that's like, I'm
- 5:06Speaker 2: taking a photo every five second, right, But I hope
- 5:08Speaker 2: that was sweet. Did we see Tony and mackelty there
- 5:12Speaker 2: or their kids? I mean I was kind of looking
- 5:14Speaker 2: because typically if they're there, their front and center, but
- 5:18Speaker 2: I didn't really see them. I didn't see them either,
- 5:20Speaker 2: but I can't imagine they didn't come.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I don't know. There was some sort of a tall,
- 5:24Speaker 1: lanky kid, a boy that was there, and he looked
- 5:28Speaker 1: like he might have been a relative, but I did
- 5:30Speaker 1: not know who that was.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I don't know. I was wondering if that was Savannah's
- 5:33Speaker 2: boyfriend because he was kind of hanging around Savannah.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Does Savannah have a boyfriend?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, okay, yeah, because he was kind of
- 5:41Speaker 2: hanging around Savannah. But I don't know. It's just my
- 5:43Speaker 2: dumb raccoon observations. So don't come for me. If I'm wrong.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Well, I thought that this scene was nice. They're teaching
- 5:49Speaker 1: the littles how to fish.
- 5:51Speaker 2: You see the.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Older generation of kids, some of whom want to be
- 5:54Speaker 1: on camera. You see them just getting along with one another.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And apparently some of the those sibling beefs that had
- 6:01Speaker 1: been going on, I know, like Gwendolen and Payden and
- 6:05Speaker 1: just among some of the other kids. Like that stuff
- 6:07Speaker 1: is starting to heal, which is awesome, Which is great,
- 6:10Speaker 1: and I'm sure Garrison would have loved that. Yeah, And
- 6:13Speaker 1: it's nice as if you were to see some of
- 6:14Speaker 1: that also.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and I liked that you could see that the
- 6:18Speaker 2: kids could squash their beef. But like with Cody and Robin,
- 6:21Speaker 2: it's a little bit different, like they're still very separated
- 6:24Speaker 2: from the rest of the family, which I'm just like, okay,
- 6:27Speaker 2: speaks to your immaturity a little bit, like if the
- 6:29Speaker 2: younger generations can let that shit go, why can't the adults? Right?
- 6:34Speaker 1: But do we think that Cody and Robin and their
- 6:37Speaker 1: children were actually invited to the Airbnb? I don't think so.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I think a lot of those older kids don't want
- 6:44Speaker 1: to be around Cody and especially Robin, And I also
- 6:47Speaker 1: don't think Robin would be comfortable at all sharing like
- 6:50Speaker 1: any extra time with the rest of the family if
- 6:52Speaker 1: she didn't have to, So she's probably completely on board
- 6:56Speaker 1: to stay at a hotel and not spend any time
- 6:58Speaker 1: with them, which honestly is really yeah, very like you
- 7:01Speaker 1: should be able to get over any of these issues
- 7:04Speaker 1: and maybe even use this time to try to make
- 7:08Speaker 1: amends or do whatever you need to do, But like
- 7:10Speaker 1: Robin's not capable of that, and Cody is so wrapped
- 7:14Speaker 1: up in his own process, his grief process, morning process,
- 7:19Speaker 1: honoring Garrison, like all of these things he feels he
- 7:22Speaker 1: needs to do, as like a ceremony and an ode
- 7:26Speaker 1: to his son. Like he's so wrapped up in that
- 7:28Speaker 1: he's not actually thinking and I'm going to ride the
- 7:31Speaker 1: lightning here and we'll save this for the after show.
- 7:32Speaker 1: But he's not like really thinking about the kids that
- 7:35Speaker 1: are still there right now who really need his love well.
- 7:39Speaker 2: And that's the thing. I'm like, if Cody could like
- 7:41Speaker 2: actually bridge the gap with a lot of the older kids,
- 7:44Speaker 2: I feel like a lot of them would be open
- 7:46Speaker 2: for that. I Mean, I can't really speak for all
- 7:48Speaker 2: of their relationships, so I'm not going to like make
- 7:52Speaker 2: any I don't know statements about it, but like I
- 7:56Speaker 2: feel like if Cody could change his tune and maybe
- 8:01Speaker 2: bridge that with the kids and maybe say sorry for
- 8:03Speaker 2: some of the things, I feel like some of them
- 8:05Speaker 2: would would be more open to that. Maybe.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I definitely think so as a possibility. With Cody and
- 8:11Speaker 1: Robin sitting down for dinner like a few episodes ago
- 8:14Speaker 1: and talking about Aspen coming to Cody to try and
- 8:17Speaker 1: talk about the relationship, that means she's still open exactly
- 8:20Speaker 1: to hearing what his feedback is and hopefully having some
- 8:23Speaker 1: kind of a connection. So I would imagine some of
- 8:25Speaker 1: the other kids feel the same way. But I do
- 8:27Speaker 1: think a couple of the oldest kids, Maddie being one
- 8:31Speaker 1: of them, are just not into it. Yeah, they have
- 8:33Speaker 1: too much of a problem. With Cody and Robin. It
- 8:37Speaker 1: would be interesting to see what would happen, but it's
- 8:39Speaker 1: not going to happen.
- 8:40Speaker 2: No, never, never.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I don't know if never, but certainly not now.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I feel like never. And then we have Cody and
- 8:47Speaker 2: his family going to the ranch and talking about stories
- 8:53Speaker 2: about Cody and his life.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Well, it was weird and confusing to me because they're
- 8:59Speaker 1: talking about how all of the kids would go up
- 9:01Speaker 1: to Wyoming, especially the boys, over the summer to learn
- 9:04Speaker 1: like the value of hard work. But it sounded like
- 9:07Speaker 1: the whole family have their roots in Wyoming, as you say,
- 9:10Speaker 1: but Robin's kids, Aurora and Brianna, like don't seem to
- 9:14Speaker 1: know anything about Cody's life, his childhood, his family. Like
- 9:18Speaker 1: it doesn't seem like they ever went to Wyoming with
- 9:20Speaker 1: the rest of the family. Now, Is that because Robin
- 9:22Speaker 1: didn't want to go? Is that because there was an
- 9:24Speaker 1: issue with that Maybe Robin didn't want to stay on
- 9:27Speaker 1: the ranch. I don't know, but like his kids seemed
- 9:30Speaker 1: completely disconnected from his history, whereas the rest of the kids.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Are not well. And that's what's super weird because we
- 9:36Speaker 2: go into like a segue with Cody like riding a
- 9:39Speaker 2: horse like a real cowboy, and Robin's talked about how
- 9:42Speaker 2: sexually that is so inappropriate is and I'm like, that
- 9:45Speaker 2: is so really inappropriate, please stop. But she was saying
- 9:48Speaker 2: like something to the effect of, we didn't even really
- 9:51Speaker 2: know that this was Cody's life, Like he never acted
- 9:53Speaker 2: like a cowboy, never acted like he grew up on
- 9:55Speaker 2: a ranch, never acted like a country guy. And so
- 9:59Speaker 2: they just really weren't privy to it. So maybe Cody
- 10:02Speaker 2: just didn't really talk about his roots and so that's
- 10:05Speaker 2: why they were just kind of disconnected from it. And
- 10:08Speaker 2: maybe Robin wasn't like super interested about like going and
- 10:11Speaker 2: spending time on a ranch right and getting dirty and
- 10:14Speaker 2: stuff like that. But I don't know, it just seemed
- 10:18Speaker 2: really odd and I just didn't really like this segment.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Well, what was really odd was when Robin and Cody
- 10:25Speaker 1: both got on that horse, who seemed really uncomfortable. And
- 10:29Speaker 1: I don't think you should be packing two people onto
- 10:33Speaker 1: a horse. It was uncomfortable. I'm not saying it's abusive,
- 10:37Speaker 1: but it's just like, what are you doing? This is weird?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Is this just a photo op? Are you doing this
- 10:40Speaker 1: for the camera?
- 10:41Speaker 3: Because it's absolutely inappropriate to do that to the horse.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I felt bad for the horse. I'm like, what are
- 10:46Speaker 3: you guys doing? Why are we doing this right now?
- 10:48Speaker 3: Isn't there a million other things that would pay respect
- 10:52Speaker 3: to Garrison that you could be doing outside of having
- 10:55Speaker 3: Robin and Cody share this horse and hurt the horse?
- 10:57Speaker 2: I know, and have Robin talk about how sexy it
- 10:59Speaker 2: was Cody ride a horse and wrangle a horse and
- 11:03Speaker 2: teach the kids. Nobody cares, and I literally don't care
- 11:06Speaker 2: about your guys' relationship. I'm sorry, Like I don't and
- 11:09Speaker 2: this isn't really the time for not see you guys
- 11:12Speaker 2: riding a horse off into the sunset and talk about
- 11:15Speaker 2: how sexy Cody is, Like I don't care.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Especially when this relationship was kind of the main issue
- 11:23Speaker 1: in the dissolution of this entire family and we're there
- 11:26Speaker 1: for a family moment to lay Garrison to rest. It's
- 11:30Speaker 1: not about you, Robin and who you think is sexy.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It's not about you Cody Peak cocking for the camera
- 11:35Speaker 1: on a horse or with your kids or talking about
- 11:38Speaker 1: signs you sold or anything else like this has nothing
- 11:40Speaker 1: to do with why we're here. I was getting really
- 11:43Speaker 1: frustrated and I'll stop right there and we can talk
- 11:45Speaker 1: about it in the after show. But it's just like, like, why.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Here, Why why? And really, like the only thing that
- 11:51Speaker 2: came out of this segment was Cody talking about how
- 11:54Speaker 2: he was grateful that Janelle allowed him to bring Garrison's
- 11:59Speaker 2: ashes up to Wyoming. So I guess we were talking
- 12:01Speaker 2: about that last week of like whether or not that
- 12:03Speaker 2: was true, because well, we talked about it in the
- 12:06Speaker 2: after show. Go on Patron if you want to see
- 12:08Speaker 2: that discussion, but I guess it was confirmed. Janelle was
- 12:11Speaker 2: happy for him to bring Garrison up, and Cody kind
- 12:15Speaker 2: of tears up a little bit and says he's grateful
- 12:17Speaker 2: because he needed that. And I can understand like the
- 12:20Speaker 2: sentiment behind that maybe deep down and Cody's sure blackheart,
- 12:27Speaker 2: but I can I can see it. But at the
- 12:29Speaker 2: same time, I'm just.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Like, Janelle's just a better person than me, because like
- 12:33Speaker 1: I would have said no thing. And Cody tells the
- 12:37Speaker 1: story about a moment in the funeral home with it
- 12:40Speaker 1: sounds like Janelle's boys and maybe Peyton was there, and
- 12:44Speaker 1: the boys were gathering around making plans this is what
- 12:47Speaker 1: we're gonna do, and Cody steps in and says, no,
- 12:49Speaker 1: stop it, I need this is my job. Let me
- 12:51Speaker 1: do it. And I was like, hmm, well, and it's like.
- 12:57Speaker 2: He's the parent, right, Yes, he lost his chime, but
- 13:00Speaker 2: the brothers also lost a brother, and I'm just like,
- 13:03Speaker 2: we don't need to insert that, and you don't need
- 13:06Speaker 2: to insert yourself into it and be like no, no, no,
- 13:08Speaker 2: I need it. Right, It's all about me. I want
- 13:11Speaker 2: to bring Garrison.
- 13:13Speaker 1: That's kind of how it felt to me. It's my pill,
- 13:16Speaker 1: And I'm wondering if there was like a bit of
- 13:18Speaker 1: a problem or an argument or some bad feelings that
- 13:21Speaker 1: happened at the funeral home that day, because I'm sure,
- 13:25Speaker 1: well I'm not sure, but I mean, I wouldn't be
- 13:27Speaker 1: surprised if some of those boys are like Garrison was
- 13:30Speaker 1: estranged from you, Like Garrison really wanted a relationship with you,
- 13:35Speaker 1: and he wasn't even allowed in your home. And here's
- 13:37Speaker 1: where I'm gonna stop. I apologize. We'll do it in
- 13:39Speaker 1: the after show, but like, it was weird that he
- 13:42Speaker 1: kind of threw that out and then didn't talk about
- 13:45Speaker 1: that more, almost as if to villainize the boys in
- 13:47Speaker 1: that moment, when it sounds like the boys were just
- 13:49Speaker 1: trying to do what the boys have learned how to do,
- 13:51Speaker 1: which is take up the slack that Cody leaves behind
- 13:54Speaker 1: because he doesn't parent. Sorry, right, I'm gonna shut up. Yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'll save it for later. I apologize.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Well, and maybe he did talk about it more, but
- 14:01Speaker 2: it was edited out. I don't know, but I just
- 14:04Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Ooh, I don't know, why are we even talking about that.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I don't's a private family moment. I don't know. Well,
- 14:10Speaker 1: he's doing it so that he can shine the light
- 14:12Speaker 1: on what he needs in this moment. Yeah, I needed
- 14:15Speaker 1: to take my son home. I needed to close the circle.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I needed to be the one to dig the grave.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I well, and that gets us into the next segment
- 14:24Speaker 2: of Cody going to the grave site with his brothers.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I think it's his brother Steve the old one, and
- 14:30Speaker 2: his brother in law Tim Tim, and they're going to
- 14:34Speaker 2: dig the grave where they're going to put Garrison's ashes in.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And Cody talks about how he wants this to be
- 14:40Speaker 2: like a garden that's full of life and everything, and
- 14:44Speaker 2: he needed to do this because it's really cathartic for
- 14:46Speaker 2: him to close the circle, like you said, and he's like,
- 14:49Speaker 2: it's really important that my brothers are here because they're
- 14:53Speaker 2: here for my emotional support.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And I'm just like, well, and he said a couple
- 14:57Speaker 1: of times, I obviously don't need them to dig the
- 15:00Speaker 1: grave because I'm big and strong enough to do it.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But it's about who I'm going to watch this sunset with.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I mean, just there's some like declarative statements that he
- 15:08Speaker 1: was making I'm like, oh my god, the narcissist cannot
- 15:11Speaker 1: help but reveal himself. I did think though, that there
- 15:16Speaker 1: were moments that were precious. I loved that these two
- 15:20Speaker 1: men came and helped, if not just to witness what
- 15:24Speaker 1: was going on, and they also loved Garrison and spent
- 15:27Speaker 1: some time with Garrison. And I thought that Cody talking
- 15:33Speaker 1: about how he needed to actually feel the labor of it,
- 15:35Speaker 1: like he needed to do the hard work of digging
- 15:38Speaker 1: this grave so he could feel it. Like I thought
- 15:40Speaker 1: there was the kernel there that was very interesting about
- 15:43Speaker 1: how to move through grief. And so I want to
- 15:45Speaker 1: give Cody that. And I'm sure there's I'm sure he's morning.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I'm sure he's thinking about what he's going through and
- 15:51Speaker 1: what has happened.
- 15:53Speaker 2: But I just, yeah, there's like a lot of things
- 15:57Speaker 2: that he says that are really hard for me to
- 16:00Speaker 2: deal with. But then at the same time, it's like
- 16:02Speaker 2: I've been saying the last couple episodes, like he's still
- 16:05Speaker 2: a father that lost his kid in like a really tragic,
- 16:09Speaker 2: awful way, And we can make speculations about his lack
- 16:13Speaker 2: of relationship with Garrison, and we can make these observations
- 16:17Speaker 2: about how he talked about Garrison on TV and stuff,
- 16:20Speaker 2: but like he still lost his kid in a really
- 16:22Speaker 2: horrible way. And so I want to believe that deep
- 16:26Speaker 2: down Cody is genuinely mourning and like genuinely sad over
- 16:31Speaker 2: the death of his child, But he copes so much
- 16:35Speaker 2: with his narcissism, and that's what makes it really difficult
- 16:39Speaker 2: to like look at his grief and think that it's
- 16:42Speaker 2: one hundred percent genuine. But like I liked the labor
- 16:46Speaker 2: part where he's talking about that with the grave, Like
- 16:48Speaker 2: I thought that that was very meaningful, and I think
- 16:52Speaker 2: that he genuinely did need to do that, like to
- 16:54Speaker 2: just kind of feel the labor of it and like
- 16:56Speaker 2: work through the grief like physically. And why the sunset
- 17:01Speaker 2: I thought was kind of sweet, but I.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Don't know, well, he said it reminds him of the divine, Yeah,
- 17:07Speaker 1: and it was great that the men sat there with him.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And I have no doubt that Cody is grieving for sure.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I do not think Robin was. I was taken aback,
- 17:18Speaker 1: And keep in mind, I'm constantly taken aback by Robin
- 17:21Speaker 1: and her lack of emotion or her emotional intelligence, Like
- 17:25Speaker 1: it doesn't seem to have any of that while he
- 17:27Speaker 1: was really on display here and very cold, stony faced.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Anything related to the funeral, anything related to what had happened,
- 17:38Speaker 1: was filtered through Cody. Yes, like, Cody is doing this
- 17:42Speaker 1: for Garrison. Cody needs this because X. Cody needs this
- 17:45Speaker 1: because why like, okay, what about Garrison? I know, why
- 17:48Speaker 1: aren't we talking more about Garrison? And why are we
- 17:51Speaker 1: shining so much light on Cody and his inner process?
- 17:54Speaker 1: Like nobody cares?
- 17:54Speaker 2: I know, nobody cares. Like really, can we have empathy
- 17:58Speaker 2: for like literally anybody else in the sit or like
- 18:01Speaker 2: feel sadness for Garrison's dead? Like it's weird to me
- 18:04Speaker 2: how they just don't really express especially Robin like doesn't
- 18:09Speaker 2: really express her own sadness with it.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I don't think she feels any And we'll save this
- 18:13Speaker 1: for the aftershock.
- 18:14Speaker 2: We will. Yep. She does say at the end of
- 18:16Speaker 2: this segment that this grave digging thing was like a
- 18:19Speaker 2: ceremony for Cody, which I thought was like a weird
- 18:23Speaker 2: choice of word and.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Like a ceremony for Cody. Yeah, right, it's a ceremony
- 18:28Speaker 1: for Garrison, right, not Cody. We are assembled here today
- 18:31Speaker 1: for Garrison, not for you, not for your kids, not
- 18:34Speaker 1: for Cody.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yep.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Very weird.
- 18:37Speaker 2: And then we get to the actual cemetery where we
- 18:40Speaker 2: have the burial, and this was filmed at a distance
- 18:44Speaker 2: per the family's request, and I'm just wondering, like why
- 18:48Speaker 2: it was even filmed at all, but like whatever, I digress.
- 18:52Speaker 2: So we have some people's faces like blurred, so I
- 18:55Speaker 2: think some people like didn't want to be on camera
- 18:57Speaker 2: at all. So that's why it was I think partially
- 18:59Speaker 2: filmed at it distance, but we still hear a lot
- 19:02Speaker 2: of what is said. I guess was it which brother
- 19:07Speaker 2: made the urn?
- 19:08Speaker 1: It was Mitch. It was Aspen's husband made the Viking
- 19:13Speaker 1: ship Earn, which was really cool, actually really very cool.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I really liked that because Garrison was really interested
- 19:20Speaker 2: in like Norse mythology and Viking mythology, and so he
- 19:24Speaker 2: wanted to be cremated, but then also put in a
- 19:28Speaker 2: Viking ship sent off to Valhalla, which was kind of cool.
- 19:32Speaker 2: And this was the first time like the family saw it,
- 19:34Speaker 2: I think because Cody brought Garrison up in a different
- 19:37Speaker 2: urn and we had a speech from Tim.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Right, I guess Tim was the minister. He showed up
- 19:45Speaker 1: in Hawaiian shirts and Hawaiian shirt and Hawaiian shorts, and
- 19:50Speaker 1: I thought he was fantastic. I thought everything he said
- 19:55Speaker 1: was beautiful. I've been to quite a few funerals and services,
- 19:58Speaker 1: and I just thought that he was It seemed like
- 20:01Speaker 1: he was absolutely honoring Garrison while at the same time
- 20:05Speaker 1: just speaking to the family, yes, about coming back together
- 20:09Speaker 1: in Garrison's honor, without like calling it out very directly.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I just thought he did a fantastic job.
- 20:14Speaker 2: He did. Yeah, and he spoke to the mother's anguish
- 20:17Speaker 2: and the father's.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Remorse, which I thought was very interesting. Uh huh, the
- 20:21Speaker 1: mother's anguish and the father's remorse.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah, And I wondered if that was Like I wondered
- 20:29Speaker 2: if Cody knew that he was gonna say that, Like
- 20:31Speaker 2: I wonder if Cody told him to say that or something.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I doubt he would tell him to say that.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Interesting that he said that, because I'm like, does Cody
- 20:39Speaker 2: feel remorse? Then? No?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Oh, actually, I'm sorry, I don't sure he does. I'm
- 20:44Speaker 1: sorry he does feel remorse. According to Cody, he says
- 20:48Speaker 1: he does. And there's so many things like the what ifs,
- 20:50Speaker 1: and we've talked about that. But when I say no,
- 20:52Speaker 1: I think it's not because Cody told him to say that,
- 20:55Speaker 1: or I don't think he ran it by Cody.
- 20:57Speaker 2: No.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I think he's actually saying all of these things to
- 21:00Speaker 1: bring the family back together in his own way. But
- 21:04Speaker 1: I thought that that was maybe the most direct thing
- 21:07Speaker 1: that he said. That was a somewhat quasi indictment of Cody,
- 21:12Speaker 1: because if anybody was going to have remorse there, it
- 21:16Speaker 1: was going to be Cody. You know, Robin won't because
- 21:18Speaker 1: you don't have any feelings. Sorry, so it's not gonna
- 21:20Speaker 1: be Robin. But I thought he was speaking passively to Cody.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Well, and that was interesting because I'm just like, Okay,
- 21:27Speaker 2: so the whole family then maybe is aware of like Cody's.
- 21:32Speaker 1: How can they not be right?
- 21:33Speaker 2: I mean, I just thought that was really interesting.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I'm trying to go through the rolodex in my mind
- 21:38Speaker 1: of previous seasons when we've had the family go up
- 21:42Speaker 1: to the ranch and we've met Tim before, because Tim
- 21:45Speaker 1: is the one who actually manages and runs the ranch,
- 21:48Speaker 1: like when passed it on to him, and we've met
- 21:51Speaker 1: Tim before and he seemed kind of like very base
- 21:55Speaker 1: and like not putting up with Cody's crap in the past,
- 21:58Speaker 1: and so I think he knows a lot. I think
- 22:00Speaker 1: he's got Cody's number. But I also think he's coming
- 22:03Speaker 1: from a place of like healthy masculine yes, trying to
- 22:06Speaker 1: guide the family back to a place of peace. I
- 22:10Speaker 1: just don't know that Cody is in a place to receive.
- 22:12Speaker 2: That, yeah, or like even acknowledge that that's what he.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Was, right, If that's what he was doing, that's just
- 22:17Speaker 1: what I imagined he was trying to do. I agree, what
- 22:20Speaker 1: do you all think?
- 22:20Speaker 2: Honestly? Yeah, let us know in the comments. But then
- 22:24Speaker 2: we have Cody. I think it was like on the couch,
- 22:26Speaker 2: like an interstitial talking about the space that will never
- 22:30Speaker 2: be filled after a loss, which I thought was quite
- 22:34Speaker 2: interesting and poignant, because you know, Cody up until that
- 22:38Speaker 2: point was just talking about himself.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Well, and if I may just elaborate on that, like
- 22:42Speaker 1: I've lost a few people, and in particular, like I've
- 22:45Speaker 1: lost my mom. I lost her in twenty twelve and
- 22:50Speaker 1: that was such a cutting and cutting loss in my life.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And although you know thirteen years have passed, He's absolutely right,
- 23:00Speaker 1: there's just a space that belongs to my mom, that
- 23:02Speaker 1: lives inside of me. And I can go on and
- 23:04Speaker 1: I can have joy, and I can have other types
- 23:07Speaker 1: of losses and experiences, and life is always going to
- 23:10Speaker 1: continue to march on. But like that space I carry
- 23:13Speaker 1: inside of me and I will always carry inside of me,
- 23:15Speaker 1: which is another reason that our loved ones really never
- 23:20Speaker 1: die because we carry them with us. And so, yeah,
- 23:23Speaker 1: what he was trying to say was very meaningful. And
- 23:26Speaker 1: it's not like you just get over it. You just
- 23:27Speaker 1: don't know, you never do.
- 23:28Speaker 2: And he does kind of talk about that, like you
- 23:30Speaker 2: do move on, but at the same time, it's always
- 23:33Speaker 2: going to be there. There's always going to be that
- 23:35Speaker 2: empty part of you.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I think about her every day, if not multiple times
- 23:39Speaker 1: a day, of course you do, but it was just
- 23:41Speaker 1: a part of my life. That grief is going to
- 23:43Speaker 1: always be with you always.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you just learn how to deal with it and
- 23:47Speaker 2: handle it throughout life. And then we also have Cody
- 23:52Speaker 2: at the funeral talking about a dream that he had
- 23:55Speaker 2: had of Garrison telling him to stop listening to sad music. Yep,
- 24:02Speaker 2: And we'll save that for the after show. Maybe.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I mean, I I can see in the setting of
- 24:09Speaker 1: a funeral giving a eulogy or speaking on behalf of
- 24:14Speaker 1: the deceased, but this was another sort of declaration about himself. Yeah,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and I was wondering if it was a bit self serving,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and we can talk about that later, but like when
- 24:26Speaker 1: you compare and contrast what he's talking about with that
- 24:29Speaker 1: dream with somebody like Peyden or Hunter, I was just like,
- 24:34Speaker 1: these things are different.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yes, I agree. And then we have Cody and Janelle
- 24:40Speaker 2: like actively laying Garrison in the ground, and this you
- 24:44Speaker 2: could tell it was really difficult for Janelle, Like she
- 24:48Speaker 2: said she could feel the weight of the urn and
- 24:51Speaker 2: that was like what really got her. And then I
- 24:53Speaker 2: think Logan even tries to like help her out with
- 24:56Speaker 2: it because he's right there next to them, and that
- 24:59Speaker 2: part really got me. Like that was where I just
- 25:03Speaker 2: all of a sudden started crying, like really hard. Just
- 25:06Speaker 2: watching that scene was really sad. And Janelle talks about it, like,
- 25:12Speaker 2: you know, despite her and Cody's like massive differences and
- 25:16Speaker 2: their fights and everything, in that moment, she said they
- 25:19Speaker 2: were just parents, and I could feel that. I feel
- 25:23Speaker 2: like that was genuine. I feel like Janelle throughout all
- 25:27Speaker 2: of this was like deep in her grief. And I've
- 25:30Speaker 2: been seeing a lot of people say like Janelle was
- 25:33Speaker 2: giving Cody more than he deserved in these moments. And
- 25:38Speaker 2: we can talk about that later, but I think Janelle
- 25:41Speaker 2: was really acting through her grief and like just trying
- 25:45Speaker 2: to get through it and like wanting to maybe believe
- 25:47Speaker 2: that like Cody is just a parent that feels the loss.
- 25:52Speaker 1: But well, if Janelle knows that what her son wanted,
- 25:58Speaker 1: you know, maybe more than anything was reckonciliation with his father,
- 26:02Speaker 1: that it would be the ultimate gesture of love on
- 26:05Speaker 1: behalf of Garrison to allow Cody to do what he
- 26:07Speaker 1: needs to do in this moment, to connect with Garrison
- 26:10Speaker 1: in this way. I think she's acting from that place
- 26:12Speaker 1: of love and supreme grace, and I just think it's
- 26:15Speaker 1: a testament to her character. Yes, and I would hope
- 26:19Speaker 1: that I would be as good as Janelle in that situation.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I just don't know that I would have been. I
- 26:24Speaker 1: just don't know that I would have been right, that's
- 26:26Speaker 1: on me.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Yeah, No, I totally get it. I totally went to
- 26:29Speaker 2: get it. And then we have various siblings giving their
- 26:34Speaker 2: own like little mementos, and this was so fucking sick.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I cannot Like, Payden gave his medals from the Army,
- 26:42Speaker 2: the military military, he gave his medals and that got me.
- 26:46Speaker 2: And then he like poured a drink for him, and
- 26:48Speaker 2: then Hunter gave his hat because I guess Garrison was.
- 26:53Speaker 1: His first salute salute and that was the hat that
- 26:56Speaker 1: Hunter was wearing when he saluted Garrison.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah. And then we have Christine like kneeling down at
- 27:01Speaker 2: the grave.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Oh my god, I can't and.
- 27:03Speaker 2: That was so sad. Man, that was so oh ooh.
- 27:08Speaker 2: And then we have Mary and her interestitial breaking down
- 27:13Speaker 2: because she was remembering Garrison's smile because that just like
- 27:17Speaker 2: lit up a room and she was really heartbroken. And
- 27:21Speaker 2: then Janelle saying that he was finally at rest.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:25Speaker 2: And it was really sad.
- 27:26Speaker 1: It was sad, but it was beautiful yep. And I
- 27:30Speaker 1: am really glad that the family was able to come
- 27:32Speaker 1: together for Garrison in that moment and in love it was.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It was.
- 27:36Speaker 2: It was beautiful me too, because that's what you should
- 27:38Speaker 2: do in a situation like this. And then after the burial,
- 27:43Speaker 2: then everybody kind of gathers without Cody. The rest of
- 27:47Speaker 2: the family gathers at their like Airbnb or whatever, and
- 27:51Speaker 2: you have a little scene with Gabe hugging on Janelle,
- 27:55Speaker 2: which is really sweet, and she talks about how her
- 27:58Speaker 2: sons always take care of their mama, which is really
- 28:01Speaker 2: really great that.
- 28:03Speaker 1: I hope you have sons. And we have daughters of course,
- 28:05Speaker 1: but like, I hope you have some sons.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I was like, dang, I really want a son.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 2: And then we have Maddie talking with Leon a little
- 28:13Speaker 2: bit about how she's still mad at Cody. Calls him Cody. Yeah,
- 28:19Speaker 2: she called dad, Yep, call Cody. She was talking about
- 28:24Speaker 2: how she can control how she reacts though in these
- 28:28Speaker 2: kinds of situations. Like obviously we didn't see her fighting
- 28:31Speaker 2: Cody at the funeral, but I thought it was interesting
- 28:33Speaker 2: that production even kept that little like scene in. And
- 28:37Speaker 2: then we have Leon saying that they would love to
- 28:40Speaker 2: have a conversation with Cody, but I don't know if
- 28:45Speaker 2: we're ever going to get that.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Oh. I think that this is the way that they
- 28:49Speaker 1: felt like maybe they could get a message to Robin's kids,
- 28:53Speaker 1: specifically the older three yeah, Brianna and Dayton. Dayton, by
- 28:57Speaker 1: the way, I did not see there either. I didn't
- 28:59Speaker 1: see him at the military memorial. I didn't see him
- 29:02Speaker 1: in the.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I wonder if he's no contact with Robin code.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I wonder if he just dipped from the entire family.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I really wonder what's going on with Dayton. Yeah, but
- 29:12Speaker 1: this is the way I think that Leon and Maddie
- 29:14Speaker 1: were able to get a message to the children, saying, Hey, like,
- 29:17Speaker 1: if there's a way to build a bridge so that
- 29:20Speaker 1: we can come together, we would love to have a
- 29:22Speaker 1: relationship with you in the future, and hopefully it is received.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I don't know if it's going to be. I just
- 29:31Speaker 1: I just don't know if it's going to be. If
- 29:32Speaker 1: anybody would I think it would be Dayton. I think
- 29:36Speaker 1: Dayton would be receptive to that. Yeah, but I just
- 29:39Speaker 1: don't know where he's at right now.
- 29:40Speaker 2: I don't know either. And then we have Maddie also
- 29:43Speaker 2: saying that if it was her in this situation, because
- 29:45Speaker 2: she is a mom, she's got kids of her own,
- 29:48Speaker 2: she would be the one to apologize to those kids,
- 29:51Speaker 2: knowing that she was wrong. And so she's saying that
- 29:53Speaker 2: to Cody, like, dude, you're in the wrong, Like you
- 29:56Speaker 2: should be the one to make the first move. And
- 29:58Speaker 2: this is what we've been saying this whole entire time
- 30:00Speaker 2: on the podcast. What apparently does It's what you do
- 30:03Speaker 2: Sometimes you gotta own up to your shit. But it's
- 30:06Speaker 2: Cody Brown that we're talking about. And then after that,
- 30:09Speaker 2: everybody likes Sparklers and is like trying their best to
- 30:14Speaker 2: you know, not really like have fun, but like just
- 30:17Speaker 2: you know, be together as a family.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Joy each other's company, to get that moment together.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, because Garrison would have wanted that, Yes, And then
- 30:24Speaker 2: we have the preview, and I was texting you thinking like,
- 30:28Speaker 2: you know, maybe we had one more episode after this,
- 30:30Speaker 2: but then and like looking at the preview again, I'm like, Okay,
- 30:33Speaker 2: I guess we're going into the tell alls.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It looks like that, which.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I kind of hope, So like, I don't really want
- 30:38Speaker 2: to have another episode after this of just like talking
- 30:40Speaker 2: about Coyote Pass, right, I mean.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I'd like to resolve Coyote Pass. I think we could
- 30:45Speaker 1: have gone deeper into Coyote Pass and a lot of
- 30:47Speaker 1: these other issues in this never ending season, but I
- 30:50Speaker 1: guess we'll reserve that for season twenty or maybe the
- 30:54Speaker 1: conversations we're gonna have with Sukiana. But like just seeing
- 30:57Speaker 1: some of that preview coming from the celebration of Life
- 31:01Speaker 1: of Garrison and they just seeing Robin with her face
- 31:05Speaker 1: talking about keep your name out of my mouth and
- 31:07Speaker 1: seeing Cody right back into this same angry place talking about,
- 31:12Speaker 1: you know, feeling guilted forever because he loves Robin. I'm
- 31:15Speaker 1: just like, are we really going to go backwards? I know,
- 31:18Speaker 1: after we've suffered this huge loss and like we have
- 31:21Speaker 1: all had a reality check or we should have, Like
- 31:23Speaker 1: we're really going to go right back into it and
- 31:25Speaker 1: talk about Janelle being asexual? I know, Mary wanting to date,
- 31:28Speaker 1: Like I don't care.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I know, I don't care about.
- 31:31Speaker 1: How without the important issues I.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Know wild, but we're gonna have four of these probably.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I don't know why Sukie keeps coming back. Maybe we shouldn't.
- 31:41Speaker 1: We can talk about it next week when we get
- 31:42Speaker 1: to it, But like, I just don't know why she
- 31:44Speaker 1: keeps putting herself in this situation because the audience tears
- 31:49Speaker 1: her down.
- 31:50Speaker 2: She must have like a contract or something with the
- 31:53Speaker 2: Browns or TLC or something, because I'm like, why do
- 31:56Speaker 2: you keep coming back?
- 31:57Speaker 1: Well, we know that Cody likes a certain sort of interviewer,
- 32:01Speaker 1: because we know, according to Mary, that it was Cody
- 32:04Speaker 1: that was behind tamer and All being fired because Tameron
- 32:07Speaker 1: was too direct with Cody and he didn't like that.
- 32:09Speaker 1: So we need somebody like Suki, I guess, but the
- 32:11Speaker 1: audience doesn't need it at all.
- 32:12Speaker 2: No, And I don't need these one on ones either.
- 32:15Speaker 1: No, I don't either.
- 32:16Speaker 2: It would be great if you guys could all just
- 32:18Speaker 2: be mature adults.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Like, get an the same room and let's just do it. Oh,
- 32:21Speaker 1: let's just do a one off. No, but we didn't
- 32:23Speaker 1: a couple hours special with y'all in the same room live.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I would love that. That would be so am But
- 32:29Speaker 1: we'd never get that.
- 32:30Speaker 2: But Cody and Robin can't do that. No, it can't
- 32:32Speaker 2: be called out no live TV. It would ruin their
- 32:35Speaker 2: facade that they have so carefully orchestra.
- 32:38Speaker 1: They literally could not deal with it. If they had
- 32:40Speaker 1: to hear criticism in real time from the other people
- 32:44Speaker 1: or from like viewers, comments and questions, they would not
- 32:47Speaker 1: be able to do it. We know what they did
- 32:49Speaker 1: last year with the look backs and talkbacks, and like
- 32:51Speaker 1: they were annoyed, yep, irritated and angry that they had
- 32:55Speaker 1: to answer to the audience. Get them off of my
