- 0:20Speaker 1: this episode, something that is near and dear to our heart,
- 0:22Speaker 1: something that is super important to us. For the Dads
- 0:25Speaker 1: is teaming up with Vanderbilt Children's Hospital this Christmas season.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yes, we are Monroe Carrol Junior Children's Hospital here in Nashville, Tennessee,
- 0:36Speaker 2: and we would love to invite you to also give.
- 0:40Speaker 2: If you are feeling in the giving mood. There are
- 0:43Speaker 2: two different ways to do so, guys. You can either
- 0:45Speaker 2: go to BWTV dot com and you can donate to
- 0:50Speaker 2: the Monroe Carol Junior Children's Hospital. This is going to
- 0:53Speaker 2: be supplying them with the necessary tools to get these
- 0:58Speaker 2: kids gifts, toys, get their families gifts and toys here
- 1:02Speaker 2: around the holidays, but also take care of these kids
- 1:06Speaker 2: all year round. So first way to do it directly
- 1:10Speaker 2: donate on BWTB dot com. There's a link on our site.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Or if you are looking to get some merch, some
- 1:19Speaker 2: FTD merch.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah, before Christmas gets here.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Before Christmas gets here, some busts and merch. Anything that
- 1:25Speaker 2: you buy on the store up until Wednesday night.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Ten per tonight as they are listening today night at
- 1:33Speaker 1: eleven fifty nine pm Eastern time.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yes, then ten percent of that purchase will be donated
- 1:40Speaker 2: directly to the hospital. So it's a great way for
- 1:43Speaker 2: PT six to kind of team up together and donate
- 1:47Speaker 2: and do something really fun for these kids this holiday season.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yeah. So again, if you're feeling encouraged, Busting with the
- 1:54Speaker 1: Boys is also matching those ten percent of net proceeds.
- 1:56Speaker 1: If you buy an item from our store and just
- 1:59Speaker 1: to walk you through it again, directly donated BWTV dot
- 2:02Speaker 1: com to the hospital, or simply buy some merch. Ten
- 2:06Speaker 1: dollars of those proceeds go to the hospital, and Busting
- 2:08Speaker 1: with the Boys is matching every dollar that is raised
- 2:11Speaker 1: through our merchandise. If you are feeling encouraged this holiday season,
- 2:14Speaker 1: again BWTB dot com, donate to the kids, for the kids,
- 2:19Speaker 1: for the dads.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And will I forgot the most important part. We're gonna
- 2:23Speaker 2: be hand delivering toys to those kids at the hospital
- 2:27Speaker 2: here in the next couple of weeks. So that's going
- 2:29Speaker 2: to be another fun opportunity. Uh, just getting to get
- 2:33Speaker 2: go see the kids. We'll have a little vlog that
- 2:34Speaker 2: comes out with that, but something to tune in for.

- 4:05Speaker 2: Shout out Australia for those international riding emails. We've been
- 4:09Speaker 2: getting a lot of ausies writing then come on.
- 4:12Speaker 1: And again man, we just talked about our ups and downs,
- 4:14Speaker 1: highs and lows of fatherhood with our wives. I showed
- 4:18Speaker 1: up about thirty minutes late today.
- 4:20Speaker 2: That's okay, that's okay.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Well, oh yeah, your boy was in Your boy was
- 4:25Speaker 1: in it a little bit. I was always I was
- 4:26Speaker 1: backed into a corner this morning. Yeah, I slept a
- 4:29Speaker 1: little bit longer than I thought I would. Wife wakes
- 4:31Speaker 1: me up at seven o'clock. She had a workout at
- 4:33Speaker 1: six in the morning, and I'm kind of I thought
- 4:35Speaker 1: I had my alarm set for six twenty I believe, yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 1: And don't remember hearing it or feeling it. Waking up
- 4:43Speaker 1: and saw a couple of things.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Did you have a true blood rush type wake up?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Like a.
- 4:50Speaker 3: No.
- 4:50Speaker 1: She woke me up, and uh, She's like, good morning,
- 4:53Speaker 1: sweet heart. Look what I made you? And it was
- 4:55Speaker 1: an It was an It was an ice latte, bro
- 4:58Speaker 1: an ice latte, like my wife's now working out of
- 5:00Speaker 1: six in the morning. She asked me, last night, fire
- 5:02Speaker 1: was going. Lights are up inside. I hope all your
- 5:04Speaker 1: Christmas lights are up. The vibes are high in the
- 5:07Speaker 1: conftent house, so especially in the evening time when you
- 5:09Speaker 1: got just the Christmas ambiance going. Yeah, And she asked,
- 5:15Speaker 1: last night, can I go work out at six in
- 5:16Speaker 1: the morning. Absolutely, of course you can. I'll probably be
- 5:20Speaker 1: back around seven. Help get everything roll. And I'm like,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I got to hit four of the dads. I got
- 5:24Speaker 1: to hit our podcast. The podcast starts at eight. We
- 5:26Speaker 1: usually rock between eight eight fifteen.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Yeah, So I have to get out of the house
- 5:30Speaker 1: by seven forty five. And I'm thinking in my head,
- 5:33Speaker 1: she's gonna get up in and roll. I'm gonna get
- 5:35Speaker 1: up early and get knockout lunch. Make Ru's case adilla,
- 5:41Speaker 1: do a little something different than the breakfast not breakfast
- 5:44Speaker 1: case idea for lunch. Oh, she loves she loves you
- 5:47Speaker 1: know how she loves her Pepperonis. For everybody in they're
- 5:50Speaker 1: out there tuned in. Rue loves her Pepperoni's her Pepperoni.
- 5:52Speaker 1: She likes to call him God bless her. And so
- 5:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna get up. I'm gonna knock lunch out. I'm
- 5:57Speaker 1: gonna knock all the things out so that way, when
- 5:59Speaker 1: Charle walked the door, I'm in the middle, basically on
- 6:02Speaker 1: the tail end of having mourning routine done for school
- 6:05Speaker 1: and everything else. And we'll both go up together to
- 6:08Speaker 1: wake up the kids, to wake up Scott Zilla and Rue, Yes,
- 6:12Speaker 1: didn't happen. So last night, middle of the night, two
- 6:16Speaker 1: one thirty two in the morning, I hear on the
- 6:17Speaker 1: monitor Rue's crying, she said, usually Charles the one who
- 6:21Speaker 1: hears first. Dad's second, mat here Tarl picking it up.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And I just hear Rue. She's not crying loudly, but
- 6:28Speaker 1: kind of like maybe she had a bad dream and
- 6:30Speaker 1: she's just sad. And so I'm like, oh, I'm gonna
- 6:32Speaker 1: get up and go up there comfort her and everything else.
- 6:35Speaker 1: So get you know, wake up one thirty in the morning. Good, hey,
- 6:38Speaker 1: let's get on the dad hat, let's get upstairs, let's
- 6:40Speaker 1: go let's go be hero tonight and going lay in
- 6:44Speaker 1: bed with her and like, sweetheart, what's going on? Why
- 6:46Speaker 1: you said? And she just talks about missing mama. So
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'm thinking of my head like she probably had a
- 6:50Speaker 1: bad dream, woke up, it's just missing mama. Well, mama's
- 6:54Speaker 1: downstairs sleeping right now. She We want to let her
- 6:57Speaker 1: get some rest, you mind if dad LA's with you,
- 6:59Speaker 1: And she's like, yeah, that's okay, Well think you guess.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I'm thinking all right now, I'm gonna I'm gonna have
- 7:03Speaker 1: to lay up here for a little bit to make
- 7:05Speaker 1: sure she gets back to sleep. Good, good, let's have it.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Let's be a hero, let's be a hero. Hear a ball? Yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 1: do you want to snuggle with you? And she like shakes.
- 7:12Speaker 1: He asked me. We just sit there and snuggle basically
- 7:14Speaker 1: until she falls asleep. So I go back downstairs. Uh,
- 7:17Speaker 1: it's probably two fifteen in the morning at this point.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Get back to bed. Make sure my alarm set for
- 7:21Speaker 1: six twenty and so apparently my wife looks up, she
- 7:25Speaker 1: goes to work out. I don't remember her getting up,
- 7:27Speaker 1: and uh I missed my alarm six twenty. Good good,
- 7:30Speaker 1: it's good sleeping good be shit, be shit husband, b
- 7:34Speaker 1: shit dad? Right now, wife comes over it just if
- 7:38Speaker 1: you don't want to get woken up out of other way.
- 7:40Speaker 2: She has no idea of what you were doing at
- 7:42Speaker 2: one point thirty two o'clock.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Though, No, when I woke up, I told her my
- 7:45Speaker 1: he's here room. Eh, it's like, no, I didn't hear.
- 7:48Speaker 1: She usually on the first one to hear. Well, yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 1: maybe you last night. Yeah, dad was the hero last night.
- 7:54Speaker 1: But how is she gonn to be woken up? I'm
- 7:56Speaker 1: woking up with a good morning. Look when I made you.
- 7:58Speaker 1: She's holding the ice lot in her hand from the
- 8:00Speaker 1: espresso machine. We get up and I'm rolling and then
- 8:03Speaker 1: I realized. I'm like, you've been up. You went and
- 8:05Speaker 1: worked out, didn't you. And She's like, yeah, you thought
- 8:07Speaker 1: I was just one of those workout gear for nothing.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I'm like, it's just nuts to me that I slept
- 8:11Speaker 1: until until she came home and woke me up.
- 8:14Speaker 2: You were tired, yeah, a sleepy boy. You were tired.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Willie was sleepy.
- 8:17Speaker 2: That's a prime example of like you needed that sleep
- 8:21Speaker 2: as much as you might be angry at yourself, like
- 8:24Speaker 2: your body was like, yo, I need rest.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're probably right. But so we get
- 8:31Speaker 1: rolling and I'm behind the eight ball and I'm in
- 8:35Speaker 1: there making breakfast, making lunch. I hear a little little
- 8:39Speaker 1: dust up going on upstairs. Rue. She's apparently in a
- 8:42Speaker 1: great mood until all of a sudden she's not. And
- 8:45Speaker 1: Mom's like, hey, do you want me to help you
- 8:46Speaker 1: make your bed. Ru's like yeah, then they make the
- 8:48Speaker 1: bed the other she gets mad, No, I don't want
- 8:50Speaker 1: you to help me make the bed. Rips off all
- 8:51Speaker 1: the stuffed animals. Good. Oh, she's losing her mind. We
- 8:54Speaker 1: have no clue. Why good, that's actually perfect that deal. Yeah,
- 8:58Speaker 1: she's three years old, all of a sudd she's pissed off.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I thought you wanted me. I thought you wanted mama
- 9:03Speaker 1: to help help you make your bed. Not anymore. Then
- 9:06Speaker 1: I come up. I'm trying to like soothe it down
- 9:07Speaker 1: because I need to know an answer. Hey, what do
- 9:09Speaker 1: you want for snack time? I've already knocked out your
- 9:11Speaker 1: your pepperoni Casada, got you pepperoni case. Pepperoni's to top
- 9:17Speaker 1: it off, not top it off, but I have a
- 9:19Speaker 1: little side sluck granola balls and sliced apples. I know
- 9:22Speaker 1: you love him flat dad cut him flat? Good?
- 9:26Speaker 2: Excuse excuse me, miss real. I know you're in a
- 9:28Speaker 2: meeting with mom. Yeah, when did you win for snack time?
- 9:31Speaker 2: I just got done making your lunch. She didn't know,
- 9:33Speaker 2: she didn't want to tell me. Don't have answers? Now
- 9:36Speaker 2: even better? That's all right, miss reare. I'll let you
- 9:40Speaker 2: handle that.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Would you like freeze ride strawberries? No? All right?
- 9:44Speaker 4: Good?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Good? No terrible idea? Yeah? Yeah that is stupid. I listen,
- 9:51Speaker 1: no suck. I end up getting her snacked together. I'm like, hey,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna need you to come downstairs because Dad had
- 9:58Speaker 1: has got to leave very soon. And she's like, are
- 10:01Speaker 1: you gonna leave without me? And I'm like, no, no, no, listen,
- 10:03Speaker 1: I know we gotta do hug kissing three squeezes. Yeah,
- 10:06Speaker 1: that has not leaving until I get my hug kissing
- 10:08Speaker 1: three squeezes. That's all she needed to know. I'm gonna
- 10:10Speaker 1: wait for you to come downstairs, but I need you
- 10:11Speaker 1: to hurry up. Yeah, so Dada can get wrong because
- 10:14Speaker 1: that is already behind. It is already screw up morning.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Any question in your mind that's like, if this doesn't happen,
- 10:20Speaker 2: I'll be upset. Just know that's not gonna happen because
- 10:23Speaker 2: that has on your side this morning.
- 10:25Speaker 1: We are on the same team. Sweet, I'm your fridge.
- 10:27Speaker 1: So I go downstairs and I'm I'm trying to get
- 10:30Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out my lunch and have everything
- 10:32Speaker 1: set up so that way she can come downstairs. Hug
- 10:34Speaker 1: kiss three squeezes. Yeah, family comes down, comes downstairs, give
- 10:38Speaker 1: her a massive hug kiss three squeezes. Scott, he's just
- 10:40Speaker 1: standing there. You know how I told the story last
- 10:42Speaker 1: week of the kiss and her putting her hand at
- 10:44Speaker 1: her mind and doing the whole time squeeze. Yeah, so
- 10:46Speaker 1: she's fully bought into the hug kissing three squeezes. I'm
- 10:49Speaker 1: giving Rue all the all the big the big three.
- 10:52Speaker 1: And then Scotty's just standing on the side waiting for
- 10:54Speaker 1: a hug from Dadda for just a random reason, and
- 10:57Speaker 1: the squeezes. I get up and roll to the fridge.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I'm all right, I gotta get my lunch, all right, man,
- 11:01Speaker 1: where's a snack at? I try to pull out a container,
- 11:04Speaker 1: container falls out, breaks all over the floor. Oh, perfect glass. No,
- 11:10Speaker 1: it was plastic car plastic cracks, open food everywhere. I wish.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I'm staring down at the ground and I'm just like
- 11:17Speaker 1: a a. I start pacing and walk around and it
- 11:22Speaker 1: just hits me. Just say it out loud, say good, good,
- 11:25Speaker 1: good good. If only it had been glass, then it
- 11:29Speaker 1: would have been great. Charles trying to clean up some stuff.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Everybody's kind of around. It's one of those moments where
- 11:34Speaker 1: you're a little too You're what is it, You're like
- 11:37Speaker 1: over You're over stimulating. You know you have to leave,
- 11:40Speaker 1: You're already behind late. I'm texting the boys, I'll be
- 11:42Speaker 1: there at eight twenty already know it's gonna be eight thirty.
- 11:44Speaker 1: The world's fall apart, and I'm like walking around, you know,
- 11:47Speaker 1: I'm like walking back to the fresh and good good,
- 11:49Speaker 1: good good name. Nanny walks in at this exact time.
- 11:54Speaker 1: She walks in and through the garage and around the budroom,
- 11:57Speaker 1: and she just sees me like sitting there walking on
- 11:59Speaker 1: like good, good good. Oh, you're great to see you
- 12:01Speaker 1: read to see him.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Everything's all good over here, house baby, we're excited.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Spilled flute, spilled food all over the floor. Don't worry.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I'll pick that up. Yeah, run outside, truck's not defrosted yet.
- 12:13Speaker 1: It's spritten out there. I'll, you know, just barefoot. I
- 12:16Speaker 1: put socks and shoes on yet, I'm turning that up.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Good good, all, good man. It's I'm happy to be here.
- 12:22Speaker 1: You you happy to be here for the dads right now.
- 12:24Speaker 2: You and I had very similar mornings, very similar mornings.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I got I can jump into mine and then we
- 12:31Speaker 2: can do happy comments.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah we got Look, I walked in, Derek, we has
- 12:37Speaker 1: coffee ready. He's like, got your coffee ready, got the
- 12:39Speaker 1: comments ready, coffee and comments. I sang a song to
- 12:42Speaker 1: you that I rehearsed in the mirror last night for
- 12:44Speaker 1: several hours.
- 12:45Speaker 5: I would like to say, too, we should apologize you.
- 12:49Speaker 5: That doesn't happen with an Accountabili buddies text, which we've
- 12:52Speaker 5: only done one time. I got reminded from a buddy
- 12:54Speaker 5: we have not so to our fault. We should have
- 12:56Speaker 5: woke you up. Well, we had about ability.
- 12:58Speaker 6: Text and we started what was that two weeks I said,
- 13:02Speaker 6: I said the first one and everyone goes good morning,
- 13:05Speaker 6: good morning, and then forty five minutes later to text
- 13:07Speaker 6: from Wheel going oh, we're starting that today.
- 13:09Speaker 1: And that's been the extent. Yeah. I was like, well,
- 13:12Speaker 1: that's the end of that. That's true, that's true.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Chalk it up to me not texting you this morning
- 13:20Speaker 2: that yes, we need to be better as a team.
- 13:23Speaker 2: We need to be better as a team. I Jill
- 13:26Speaker 2: is sick, and yesterday I went into full panic mode
- 13:31Speaker 2: trying to figure out a way for us to record
- 13:33Speaker 2: this today and not even realizing Derek said it beautifully
- 13:38Speaker 2: off Mike earlier. Oh, I already pay for a system
- 13:42Speaker 2: that watches my kids daycare, and I was like, we'll
- 13:46Speaker 2: just take Scarlet to daycare an extra day check Scarlet
- 13:52Speaker 2: this morning she did not have a fever. I don't
- 13:55Speaker 2: have a fever. Jill is dead. Jill's basically she and
- 14:00Speaker 2: shout out Jill. I love Jill, Jill shout out you.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I will say this about Jill.
- 14:05Speaker 1: You're feeling shitty.
- 14:06Speaker 2: She has left work for as long as I've known her.
- 14:10Speaker 2: She has left work only one other time. So I
- 14:13Speaker 2: know it ain't good, and so I come home or sorry.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I get a text from Jill yesterday. She basically says
- 14:20Speaker 2: I'm dead. I'm leaving work. I'm like, ok good, okay,
- 14:24Speaker 2: start playing with you guys. I panic, and then I
- 14:27Speaker 2: quickly realized, okay, we can put Scarlet in daycare tomorrow.
- 14:30Speaker 2: We got that figured out. Now, let's just take care
- 14:33Speaker 2: of Scarlet and take care of Jill. So I go
- 14:35Speaker 2: pick up Scarlet from daycare. I come home. Jill has
- 14:40Speaker 2: been home since three point thirty and has been passed
- 14:43Speaker 2: out in bed.
- 14:44Speaker 1: She's just asleep.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I go to the nursery and the door's not coming,
- 14:51Speaker 2: and I'm like, what the fuck is going on with
- 14:53Speaker 2: the nursery door. Look down, the carpet is all like
- 14:56Speaker 2: outside of the door, Like there's no carpet on the
- 14:58Speaker 2: outside of the nursery carpet on the inside of the nursery,
- 15:02Speaker 2: but it's all sticking out of the door, Like, what
- 15:04Speaker 2: the fuck's going on?
- 15:05Speaker 1: Here?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Lay my shoulder into the nursery door. Wriggly explodes out
- 15:11Speaker 2: of the nursery. So Jill locked Wriggly in the nursery.
- 15:15Speaker 1: All day long.
- 15:15Speaker 2: There's shit and pasts everywhere. Good, good Scarlet, because she
- 15:22Speaker 2: wants her, you know, attention. So I go get the
- 15:25Speaker 2: carpet cleaner, and I'm cleaning the carpet and I got
- 15:27Speaker 2: Scarlet up on the changing table with my hand right there,
- 15:30Speaker 2: and I'm scrubbing the carpet. Jill's dead in the bed.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I uh go, I go make Scarlet's her bath. Bath
- 15:41Speaker 2: time goes great. Then all of a sudden, she decides
- 15:44Speaker 2: she doesn't want to eat her bottle, which she has
- 15:46Speaker 2: never done at nighttime. That's her favorite bottle. And for
- 15:49Speaker 2: parents at home, you know, that is one of the
- 15:51Speaker 2: most important bottles, because one of the most important.
- 15:54Speaker 1: If they've been in a routine the whole time, your
- 15:56Speaker 1: head spinning like what is happening, I'm like you, this
- 15:59Speaker 1: is We've made it, We've made it. I'm also thinking
- 16:02Speaker 1: in the back of my mind, if she does not
- 16:04Speaker 1: eat at least five and a half ounces, she is
- 16:07Speaker 1: going to wake up in the middle of the night
- 16:08Speaker 1: hungry and piss, which means I will wake up and
- 16:11Speaker 1: I already have a five thirty and you're gonna piss.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna be pissed.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I already have a five thirty wake up call tomorrow
- 16:18Speaker 2: just to get her two daycare so I can be
- 16:20Speaker 2: here on time. So I'm like, Scarlet, we are not
- 16:25Speaker 2: taking no as an option tonight. You will drink your bottle.
- 16:29Speaker 2: So I open upip Doog, I open up her Merlin,
- 16:34Speaker 2: I open up her Onesie, and I get a wet wipe.
- 16:36Speaker 2: This might I don't know if this is abuse, but
- 16:40Speaker 2: I think it's a dad hack, and I'm just wiping
- 16:44Speaker 2: her chest with the wipe to wake her up. She
- 16:47Speaker 2: was basically just falling asleep and not eating her bottle,
- 16:50Speaker 2: and I have the lights on, I had music on,
- 16:52Speaker 2: and I'm like, Scarlet, eat your baba, eat your baba,
- 16:55Speaker 2: and she wouldn't wake up. So I am doing this
- 16:58Speaker 2: wet wipe on her chest and it keeps on waking
- 17:00Speaker 2: her up enough to where she's like, oh, yeah, I
- 17:03Speaker 2: need to eat ball gold set a time. Yes, that
- 17:06Speaker 2: ended up working. We got six ounces in her. Once
- 17:09Speaker 2: we got six ounces, I say good and put her
- 17:13Speaker 2: in the crib. Then I go into the bedroom and
- 17:17Speaker 2: I just hear and I'm like, oh, honey, are you okay?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Jill's dead, and.
- 17:26Speaker 1: What do you need?
- 17:26Speaker 2: I need thailand all, I need ice, I need.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Water and blah blah blah. I'll go get that.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I go get all of her stuff, and then I'm like,
- 17:33Speaker 2: oh my god, I can't go to bed because Jill
- 17:35Speaker 2: is usually the one shout out Jill who preps all
- 17:38Speaker 2: scarlet stuff for daycare. I gotta make Scarlet's bottles for tomorrow.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I gotta pick out her outfit. I gotta get all
- 17:45Speaker 2: of her stuff. So I make all the pre make
- 17:47Speaker 2: all the bottles.
- 17:48Speaker 1: At what point do you put the eye black on?
- 17:50Speaker 4: Oh?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Where you're like, you know what? I gotta do all
- 17:53Speaker 1: this and you just start looking in the mirror. You
- 17:55Speaker 1: put the eye black on, and it's like, let's get
- 17:58Speaker 1: to work.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Pull up coach a picture of his black in college.
- 18:03Speaker 2: That's where I was at, damn near black face. I
- 18:05Speaker 2: put die, my God, and then I grabbed my hands
- 18:10Speaker 2: and the smeared on my face.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I said, you ain't going to bed to night. I said,
- 18:14Speaker 1: we fucking got this. It's gonna be good.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And I washed all the bottles and I prepped everything,
- 18:21Speaker 2: and then I made the bottles and I put them up.
- 18:23Speaker 2: And then this morning execution was perfect. We got Scarlet
- 18:29Speaker 2: out of the crib, We got her in her new outfit.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Bottle bottle bottles. She drank the whole thing. Get her
- 18:35Speaker 1: to daycare.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Shout out daycare, Thank.
- 18:37Speaker 1: You, shout out daycare. Do an extra day.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Oh do you have one hundred ten dollars you got
- 18:42Speaker 2: to pay up front? Had one hundred and fifteen dollars
- 18:44Speaker 2: in my wallet. I never carry cash. Boom, there you go,
- 18:48Speaker 2: have a good day. I'm gonna go record for the dads.
- 18:56Speaker 2: That's turning shit and the elimonade son, yes, And I
- 19:00Speaker 2: say all of that to say, no one's coming to
- 19:04Speaker 2: save you. And that's just a that's a day at
- 19:07Speaker 2: the office.
- 19:08Speaker 1: It's a day at the Office's parents out there hearing
- 19:11Speaker 1: our stories. They have worse ones like you're just you're
- 19:14Speaker 1: gonna be in the suck a lot of the times.

- 21:15Speaker 2: will I will raise you one with the poop story.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Daughter didn't make it to the toilet in time and
- 21:20Speaker 2: dropped a deuce on the bathroom floor. I go upstairs
- 21:23Speaker 2: for two minutes, come back down and the turt is gone.
- 21:26Speaker 1: All good.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I asked the kid where it went, and she literally
- 21:29Speaker 2: points at our dog. I turn around.
- 21:31Speaker 1: The dog is licking its lips and immediately runs to
- 21:35Speaker 1: its cage.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Pody is fucking crazy. Body trading and dogs aren't for
- 21:42Speaker 2: the week.
- 21:43Speaker 1: He had one where she was doing bath time over
- 21:45Speaker 1: the weekend when we were in uh we were doing
- 21:47Speaker 1: the Old Cast in Atlanta, and Rue had to go
- 21:51Speaker 1: potty while she was in bath time. She's like, mom my,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I gotta go poop. But she she picks Ru up
- 21:57Speaker 1: and as she picks RU up to transfer to the
- 21:58Speaker 1: toilet or three year old, she drops it two right
- 22:01Speaker 1: there on the floor. Come on, all the way over.
- 22:03Speaker 1: It was just coming out. Come on, she couldn't hold
- 22:05Speaker 1: it in, just drops a I think a durable a
- 22:10Speaker 1: durable piece right there on the carpet, just like good daddy,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I heard that. That's my girl. That's my girl. Good
- 22:19Speaker 1: route simple one here from Rico getting dough nine sixteen.
- 22:25Speaker 1: This has got to be a good break right here.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Rico getting dough st sixer. Checking in great podcast, always
- 22:32Speaker 1: looking forward to a new episode. Shout out the boys
- 22:34Speaker 1: St six ers that you're seeing team six led by Chef. Right,
- 22:37Speaker 1: there's chef there you go. Rico getting dough, Rico getting dough.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I have one from Tim Reams. My name is Tim Rems. Hey,
- 22:47Speaker 1: how are you.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I've been in professional Oh shout out Rizzo apparently has
- 22:53Speaker 2: been throwing our stuff everywhere in the MLB. Because we
- 22:58Speaker 2: got it, we got another MLB guy, Tim Reams. He said, hey,
- 23:02Speaker 2: how are you? My name is Tim Reens. I've been
- 23:04Speaker 2: in professional baseball since twenty twelve. For the last seven years,
- 23:07Speaker 2: I've been at the major league level as a big
- 23:10Speaker 2: league bullpen catcher. My wife and I just had our
- 23:13Speaker 2: first child, a baby boy. He's four months old, and
- 23:15Speaker 2: he is our first Any advice. We love listening to
- 23:19Speaker 2: the podcast as well. I look forward to hearing from
- 23:21Speaker 2: you guys soon. Tim Rems, Yo.
- 23:24Speaker 1: That is awesome. Just casually writing in writing a comment,
- 23:28Speaker 1: he casually also, I played professional baseball. I'm in the MLB.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Correct me if I'm wrong, Darren. He casually bought a
- 23:36Speaker 2: bunch of merch too, did he not? Was he the
- 23:39Speaker 2: MLB player that also storied like merch on his story?
- 23:44Speaker 2: I believe he got some busts and.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Eighty's to double check that.
- 23:48Speaker 5: We had a first form athlete who was a hockey
- 23:50Speaker 5: player buy some stuff too.
- 23:52Speaker 1: But I can I can I'll make a list of
- 23:53Speaker 1: all our people.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Yeah, form energy.
- 23:56Speaker 1: What was the advice he said that he has. How
- 23:58Speaker 1: old is theirs?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Four months old?
- 24:00Speaker 1: Four months old? This is up your rally, like you know,
- 24:03Speaker 1: for me, if I'm remembering again, the time flies. So
- 24:08Speaker 1: the fact that Scotty's won Roust three, I like think
- 24:10Speaker 1: back to those dog days of a four month old
- 24:13Speaker 1: four month old, like he's right around. Are we getting
- 24:15Speaker 1: him down for twelve hours at a night. Are you
- 24:17Speaker 1: still doing the night feeds? That's like a war that's
- 24:20Speaker 1: going on. Yes, because four months is around where they
- 24:22Speaker 1: can sleep through the night. If you've been, if you've
- 24:25Speaker 1: been doing any of the sleep training philosophies that are
- 24:27Speaker 1: out there.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I would say this to Tim because this is my
- 24:31Speaker 2: lesson of the week as well.
- 24:32Speaker 1: And we'll get into this.
- 24:34Speaker 2: But if anybody knows this more, it's going to be
- 24:37Speaker 2: Tim Raims, who is a bullpen catcher. There are sometimes
- 24:41Speaker 2: when you are down and out and you got to
- 24:44Speaker 2: call in the lefty and you got to get them
- 24:46Speaker 2: warmed up. You gotta be ready to go in there
- 24:49Speaker 2: and not only pitch a hell of the game, but
- 24:51Speaker 2: you could even win the game. Be ready for when
- 24:56Speaker 2: they call the lefty and get you in there, because
- 24:59Speaker 2: my my wife is an absolute sicko. And this morning
- 25:03Speaker 2: and last night reminded me of that, of just like,
- 25:07Speaker 2: holy shit, there is so much that I have to
- 25:10Speaker 2: do to cover for my wife. She is kicking, asked
- 25:14Speaker 2: daily how does.
- 25:15Speaker 1: She do it?
- 25:16Speaker 2: And you're on the mound now, and I'm on the
- 25:18Speaker 2: mound now, And now it's like, Okay, not only am
- 25:22Speaker 2: I not only am I out here trying to win
- 25:24Speaker 2: the game, but it's for guts and glory too. Because
- 25:27Speaker 2: I'm looking at our uh, our formula thing, and it's
- 25:32Speaker 2: a different type of formula than what we've been using.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I'm second guessing myself. I'm like, yo, where's the usual, fam.
- 25:40Speaker 1: When you're looking around like a deer in headlights looking
- 25:43Speaker 1: at coach on the sideline or in the dugout, the
- 25:46Speaker 1: look back is this is what we prepare for week
- 25:49Speaker 1: in and week out. I don't know why you're staring
- 25:51Speaker 1: at me this, Nay, why are you looking at me?
- 25:53Speaker 1: There's formula right there. What are you gonna do? The
- 25:55Speaker 1: starter's hurt, The starter's is bad right now, Tarter's hurt.
- 25:58Speaker 1: This is the next man up mentality? Yeah, there should
- 26:00Speaker 1: be no drop off if you want to be a
- 26:02Speaker 1: big leaguer, there's no drop off when your number gets.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Called yes, And what kind of shit are you going
- 26:08Speaker 2: to be throwing on the mound? What kind of nasty
- 26:11Speaker 2: shit are you pitching?
- 26:12Speaker 1: And if you're one of those guys that's deer in
- 26:15Speaker 1: headlights looking around thinking you're prepared, thinking you're talking a
- 26:19Speaker 1: big game about that life and everything else, when the
- 26:21Speaker 1: starter goes out, how are you going to perform? And
- 26:25Speaker 1: if again, if you're looking around for somebody to save you,
- 26:29Speaker 1: you haven't been doing enough.
- 26:30Speaker 2: And there is going to be a four month old,
- 26:33Speaker 2: mean son of a bitch staring you down at home
- 26:36Speaker 2: plate saying what do you got?
- 26:38Speaker 1: Dad? As, what the fuck do you got?
- 26:41Speaker 2: Because I'm either going to and send it out of
- 26:44Speaker 2: the park or you're gonna strike this shit out?
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, what you got? Yeah? Stan your nats in the
- 26:49Speaker 1: A gap staring at you in the A gap And
- 26:52Speaker 1: what I'll say too? It's like with the one in three.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Now I think back to those early months where it's
- 26:59Speaker 1: chaos at all time. There's the hard point, hard moments
- 27:02Speaker 1: throughout all of childhood, all of childhood. Now as a dad,
- 27:08Speaker 1: that h has. Youngest is now one who can walk.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Who looks at a cabinet, it's like, oh, hey, this
- 27:17Speaker 1: cabinet's unlocked. This cabinet's open, and there's everything's in the cabinet.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Why would everything be in the cabinet. Let me throw
- 27:23Speaker 1: it all over the goddamn living room.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Oh and hey, that's not a cabinet. I think that
- 27:27Speaker 2: might be a ladder.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, all the cans and bottles of water and
- 27:31Speaker 1: everything is eye level here in the Patriot. What's it
- 27:34Speaker 1: doing on the shelf. It should be all over the floor.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Oh is that glass?
- 27:38Speaker 2: Let's see if I can break it.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, Dad had just filled up a fresh bowl
- 27:42Speaker 1: of water for waffle. She's not thirsty. She likes drinking
- 27:45Speaker 1: it off the floor. As that Dad. Seeing that now,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I just think to myself, cherish the times where they're
- 27:53Speaker 1: they're they're not mobile and you could just bounce them
- 27:55Speaker 1: in a little chair. Yeah, and watch the show whatever,
- 27:58Speaker 1: put the subtitles on it, whatever it is. They're immobile. Yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 1: enjoy those moments because it just gets more chaotic.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Oh, your dog shit and piss everywhere on the carpet.
- 28:08Speaker 2: But it's close enough to the changing table, that you
- 28:11Speaker 2: can put scarlet on the changing table and keep your
- 28:14Speaker 2: hand on scarlet while you clean good because what if
- 28:18Speaker 2: she's what if she's where would I put her?
- 28:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and scott Zilla, anytime we're prepping the oven, doing
- 28:24Speaker 1: something on the stove, putting food in the oven, whatever
- 28:26Speaker 1: it is. Anytime she hears dinum, because we're getting everything
- 28:30Speaker 1: heated up, she can now get She's able to reach
- 28:34Speaker 1: all those knobs, so all she does. I set it
- 28:37Speaker 1: for three seventy five. She tries to wheel it to
- 28:39Speaker 1: five hundred. She's pressing buttons. Now I'm getting orange lights
- 28:43Speaker 1: blinking because the oven is shutting down or speaking a
- 28:46Speaker 1: language I don't understand, and I just gotta turn everything
- 28:49Speaker 1: off and wait for like five minutes until I'm like,
- 28:51Speaker 1: all right, let me see if I can heat up
- 28:52Speaker 1: this food again, or if I can get the oven preheated.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Because once she hears dinum, she's over there. She's mentioned
- 28:58Speaker 1: with the knobs and I looked down. I'm like, Scottie,
- 29:00Speaker 1: stop and she's just like looking up at me. I'm like, no, no,
- 29:03Speaker 1: you don't get it. Grab her by the arms, take
- 29:05Speaker 1: her over to the take her over to the living room,
- 29:08Speaker 1: sprint over to the oven, get the oven where I
- 29:11Speaker 1: want to, and then I just sit there like a
- 29:13Speaker 1: linebacker in the eight gap while she tries to walk over.
- 29:16Speaker 1: She tries to move, tries to like slide in between
- 29:18Speaker 1: my legs. She starts getting upset, and I'm like, this
- 29:20Speaker 1: is welcome to the show. You're not getting by the oven.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Welcome to the show.
- 29:25Speaker 1: It's one of those others too. It's like the knobs
- 29:27Speaker 1: are on like if I'm if this is the oven,
- 29:29Speaker 1: this is the top part you open the door to
- 29:31Speaker 1: go in. The knobs are like sitting right there on
- 29:33Speaker 1: the side, so she can kind of grab the handle
- 29:35Speaker 1: and mess with the knobs and push the buttons.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Oh perfect, God, Oh you're your house goes into auxiliary
- 29:42Speaker 2: heat because it's so cold outside and now your nursery's
- 29:44Speaker 2: eighty four degrees. If you think that your baby's gonna
- 29:48Speaker 2: die and you don't realize that till ten o'clock at night,
- 29:51Speaker 2: you don't do a good job of checking the nana
- 29:53Speaker 2: app because usually your wife does, but now she's dead.
- 29:57Speaker 2: If I went in there, I closed the heat vent
- 30:00Speaker 2: and I put a fan in there, and we got
- 30:02Speaker 2: down to seventy four real quick. Yeah, so, Tim, welcome
- 30:06Speaker 2: to the show. You've been in the show. You know
- 30:10Speaker 2: exactly what needs to be done. Be ready for when
- 30:13Speaker 2: they call them the lefty. Yeah, Tim, there's your advice.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Don't be the motherfucker deer in headlights staring at your
- 30:22Speaker 2: wife asking what do I do in this situation? Ask
- 30:25Speaker 2: your questions now as you're watching at home right now,
- 30:28Speaker 2: and you might be one of these dads.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Let the wife the milk team sixers. This is the
- 30:32Speaker 1: opportunity to or hey, this is what this is the
- 30:35Speaker 1: page I want you to be on and from that moment,
- 30:39Speaker 1: from that conversation, dad, sit there and listen this again.
- 30:42Speaker 1: They're the starters. We think we handle all this shit.
- 30:45Speaker 1: They know what it is for real. Yeah, you have
- 30:48Speaker 1: to figure out a way and get on their level.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I'd like to come home to a clean kitchen. I'd
- 30:53Speaker 1: like to come home when I'm out for an hour
- 30:55Speaker 1: and you're watching kids. You know, I love the toys
- 30:57Speaker 1: being picked up. I'd love for you to pick up
- 30:59Speaker 1: the toys. Yeah, how hard is that? I'm sitting there
- 31:03Speaker 1: last night watching Monday night football my watch, Like, could
- 31:05Speaker 1: you just not like you got a couple of toys, right?
- 31:07Speaker 1: Here on the floor, do you just you enjoy just
- 31:10Speaker 1: is it comfortable just sitting in the chaos or sitting
- 31:13Speaker 1: around the clutter?
- 31:13Speaker 2: Hey, will do you just like looking at the toys
- 31:15Speaker 2: on the ground.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Yeah, she's on her hands and knees putting them in there.
- 31:19Speaker 1: And then that kind of guilty conscience work. I'm going
- 31:21Speaker 1: to continue to watch football because I've already kind of
- 31:23Speaker 1: made this bed, and just tell her I was born
- 31:25Speaker 1: in the chaos. This is easy for me. But usually
- 31:29Speaker 1: it's like when she's up there, say say, I'm doing
- 31:31Speaker 1: Scotty and she's doing a rue and she has a
- 31:33Speaker 1: longer time with the ruin and I get done with Scotty,
- 31:35Speaker 1: I come downstairs. I see toys on the flour. The game.
- 31:37Speaker 1: The mission men is get all the toys cleaned up,
- 31:41Speaker 1: put them under the table, put them back in cat whatever,
- 31:44Speaker 1: the shelves, baskets, whatever, you guys have, Yeah, have that done.
- 31:47Speaker 1: So when they come down, it's a clean living room
- 31:50Speaker 1: and you got a fresh glass of ice water sitting
- 31:53Speaker 1: there for you, ready to roll. Let's go. That's what
- 31:57Speaker 1: it is, boys, That's what it is.
- 31:58Speaker 2: And when and when you're four month old takes a
- 32:02Speaker 2: deep seven hundred foot bomb. It's a homer off. You
- 32:06Speaker 2: don't don't go like this, don't go hold little shit.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Oh fuck yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 1: And when your numbers called for bath time, because it
- 32:13Speaker 1: will be it will, you gotta be ready to go.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I'm still the dad that if I can get away
- 32:19Speaker 1: of another day at bath time without mom bringing it up,
- 32:21Speaker 1: I might try to sneak in another day at bathtime.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I was not taking a bath a hundred But when
- 32:28Speaker 1: Mom's like, oh it's let's just say, hey, it's Sunday,
- 32:30Speaker 1: they need a bathtey, or they went swimming lesson today,
- 32:33Speaker 1: they need a bath. Once that said, you're ready to
- 32:37Speaker 1: pick up and do your thing, Hey, I will. I
- 32:39Speaker 1: will execute bath time because again even for a four
- 32:41Speaker 1: or five month old, like even for the young ones,
- 32:43Speaker 1: they just sit in a little thing. You get them wet.
- 32:44Speaker 1: It's a very fast bath routine. If you toys get
- 32:47Speaker 1: involved in there, they love to swim, they love the splash.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Now you're negotiating how long you're gonna stay. Do you
- 32:52Speaker 1: want dad and to pull the drain? And you want
- 32:53Speaker 1: to pull the drain. But what women are really saying
- 33:00Speaker 1: is they would like you to just be the guy
- 33:03Speaker 1: who says, you know what I think, tonight's bath. Now
- 33:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna go give him a bath. I haven't got
- 33:07Speaker 1: to that point yet, and hand up, I can just
- 33:10Speaker 1: say it. As Charles's listening. She knows that I'm not
- 33:12Speaker 1: that guy. I had the buster chops the other night
- 33:14Speaker 1: when I was getting ready for bed, and she reached
- 33:19Speaker 1: out to the monitor and was looking at the monitor,
- 33:20Speaker 1: looking at Rue Ruse. She now has her own little
- 33:23Speaker 1: twin bed, right, so no sides or none of that stuff.
- 33:26Speaker 1: And so Charles was like, looks like Ru's about to
- 33:29Speaker 1: fall off the bed and kind of like makes a chuckle,
- 33:31Speaker 1: and I just look at her. I was like, does
- 33:32Speaker 1: this mean you want me to go up there and
- 33:35Speaker 1: adjusts Rue or are you just making that comment. We're
- 33:37Speaker 1: gonna kind of laugh out out and I'm gonna crawl
- 33:38Speaker 1: in bed. We're gonna snuggle together and way to go
- 33:40Speaker 1: to sleep. Yeah, yeah, because I don't. She's like yeah yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 1: She's like, I mean you can't if you want. And
- 33:45Speaker 1: I'm like, you gotta tell you have to tell me. Women, Hey,
- 33:47Speaker 1: we can't read your minds, Like, you have to tell me.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I know of a couple things, Charle, does it. I
- 33:53Speaker 1: I just know when my number is being called. Yeah,
- 33:57Speaker 1: like Charo, get home, We'll get home. We went hook
- 34:00Speaker 1: pictures with sand It the other day. We get home.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Charles wanted to change into her comfy clothes, like get
- 34:05Speaker 1: you know, dressed down everything else, and she just says
- 34:07Speaker 1: to Rue out loud, Rue, I gotta go change right now.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And I also still have to clean out the backpack.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I also still have to clean up the backpack. So
- 34:17Speaker 1: whenever I change and clean out the backpack, then we
- 34:19Speaker 1: can play together me. That's cue. I'm on the couch
- 34:22Speaker 1: right now, phones in my hand, or maybe I'm getting
- 34:24Speaker 1: the game on because it's it's Sunday. Yeah, I think
- 34:28Speaker 1: in my head, Oh, this right here is cue. Gentlemen,
- 34:31Speaker 1: go clean out the backpack. That's Charles's doing something. Charl
- 34:36Speaker 1: might be putting away the leftovers in the fridge. And
- 34:40Speaker 1: I'm sitting there on the couch and I hear, uh,
- 34:43Speaker 1: my wife talk to Waffle. Think Waffle can talk to
- 34:46Speaker 1: her back or English bulldog that's sitting by the door. Oh, Waffle,
- 34:49Speaker 1: do you need to go outside? Do you need to
- 34:51Speaker 1: go potty? I will get you to go out. I'll
- 34:54Speaker 1: let you outside. Whenever I'm done putting away the leftovers.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Me sitting on the couch. Oh some, I'm sm That
- 35:01Speaker 1: doesn't mean Charles's gonna put away the leftos and go
- 35:03Speaker 1: and take her outside. That means, hey, Dad, you hear
- 35:05Speaker 1: me saying what your dog needs to go outside? Why
- 35:07Speaker 1: don't you get your lazy ass up and go let
- 35:09Speaker 1: the dog outside. Yeah, that's called an out loud sub
- 35:12Speaker 1: tweet from your wife.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Yeah, which Jill often will subtweet me to do the
- 35:20Speaker 2: exact same thing, exact same thing. She's making chicken and
- 35:23Speaker 2: dumplings two nights ago. Oh my head hurts. Oh, I
- 35:27Speaker 2: feel like shit. I don't feel good. I think dinner's
- 35:32Speaker 2: about to be ready. I hope you know, I'll go
- 35:36Speaker 2: take it off the stove or whatever. When the alexa
- 35:39Speaker 2: goes off, I have to get Scarlet to battime. Oh
- 35:44Speaker 2: my head, I feel like shit. I finally I go
- 35:47Speaker 2: oh ding ding ding Dad, Help Dad?
- 35:49Speaker 1: Just sitting there? Have you seen inside out? Yes? Yeah,
- 35:53Speaker 1: bro rowing the dad's brain throw sitting there like they're like,
- 35:56Speaker 1: what the hell is she talking about it?
- 35:59Speaker 2: I finally know, Hey, you know what, it's six point twenty.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I'll get her bath going. I'll I'll do bathtime with Scarlet.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Jill and her it's like, what a novel idea, What
- 36:12Speaker 2: a great idea, Sherman, Do you hear me?
- 36:14Speaker 1: I feel like, hell, we got to bathe our daughter
- 36:17Speaker 1: and I'm doing dinner. Alexis telling us it's time to
- 36:19Speaker 1: take the food off the stove. Oh, a Lexus going off.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I feel like shit. Would like to not have to
- 36:24Speaker 1: get up. Yeah.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Oh, I have to wake up at five tomorrow morning
- 36:28Speaker 2: because I work all day at the hospital and I'm
- 36:30Speaker 2: gonna be feeling like shit. I'm just over there on
- 36:33Speaker 2: the couch.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Just yeah. And men, this is the way our wives
- 36:39Speaker 1: talk to us. And a few things happen here in
- 36:42Speaker 1: a man's brain. You feel the indirect, subliminal messages because
- 36:49Speaker 1: they're not directly speaking to you, and you're just thinking,
- 36:52Speaker 1: if you just tell me, I would know, And they're thinking,
- 36:55Speaker 1: if you just know, I don't have to tell you,
- 36:57Speaker 1: because these are some of the simplest things, and when
- 37:01Speaker 1: we don't do those things in their brain, that's the
- 37:03Speaker 1: only way they can kind of get around to talk
- 37:04Speaker 1: to us or get our attention. And so a couple
- 37:07Speaker 1: of things happen. You're either going to sit there, we
- 37:10Speaker 1: identify and know they're calling me out right now, and
- 37:13Speaker 1: they can't say it to my face, but they're calling
- 37:16Speaker 1: me out right now. You can either boil and get
- 37:19Speaker 1: a little angry and start to get a little passive
- 37:21Speaker 1: aggressive back. Oh that sounds fun. Yeah, you can do that.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Olve it. I'm telling you. Just a slippery slope. Boys,
- 37:29Speaker 1: it's a slippery slope, and sometimes you might win. But
- 37:32Speaker 1: we all know at the end of the night or
- 37:34Speaker 1: at the end of the day or the next day
- 37:35Speaker 1: when you're driving, you don't feel good about yourself that
- 37:38Speaker 1: it got to that point. Yeah, but there's another thing
- 37:40Speaker 1: that can happen. You can just sit there with our
- 37:43Speaker 1: dumb brains when we finally figure it out, and you
- 37:46Speaker 1: can just smile and you can say, good, it's my time.
- 37:50Speaker 1: It's like my numbers getting called and I got to
- 37:51Speaker 1: show up. Not only do I got to show up
- 37:53Speaker 1: and hear the room and hear our wives talking to us,
- 37:57Speaker 1: but also let's try to figure it out and get
- 38:00Speaker 1: better so this doesn't have to continue to happen. Is
- 38:02Speaker 1: it going to continue to happen? Yes?
- 38:04Speaker 2: Yeah, every day, every single day, it will continue to happen.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Like we're watching the game. The little emotions in our brain.
- 38:12Speaker 1: They're all sitting in our brain watching the game. We
- 38:15Speaker 1: have no clue what's actually going on. Yeah, but if
- 38:18Speaker 1: you can just have some awareness, yeah, and hear what's
- 38:21Speaker 1: being said, they'll tell you. They just hate telling you
- 38:24Speaker 1: a hundred different times and in a hundred different ways.
- 38:27Speaker 1: That's true. Hey, the signs are there.
- 38:30Speaker 2: And often I will tell my wife, well, maybe if
- 38:33Speaker 2: you had just asked me nicely, you know, a while
- 38:37Speaker 2: ago until instead of there we are now, maybe if
- 38:40Speaker 2: you just asked me nicely. Oh so I didn't ask
- 38:43Speaker 2: you one, two, three, four, five different times and then
- 38:45Speaker 2: I rewind and I go, oh shit, you know what
- 38:48Speaker 2: she did.
- 38:48Speaker 1: The signs were there.
- 38:50Speaker 2: The signs were there, but I digress. Yeah, that's your advice, Tim, Yeah, Tim,
- 38:56Speaker 2: thank you for Hey, Tim, thanks for listening to the show.
- 38:59Speaker 1: And new dads out there. Matter of fact, I do
- 39:02Speaker 1: have some new dad some new dad live shot outs.

- 39:10Speaker 1: you to regulate her breathing, but she's tough like her mom.
- 39:13Speaker 1: They even went to hook up an IV and say
- 39:15Speaker 1: if they were having trouble because she has thick skin.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Come on, let's go good good, she will be ready

- 40:34Speaker 2: Absolute sick And is that the couple that they were like,
- 40:38Speaker 2: hey were either going to name our kid Scottie or

- 40:51Speaker 1: out there too, Like moms, it must be nice to

- 41:05Speaker 2: they gave me a plastic recliner.
- 41:06Speaker 1: In the hospital, we get a plastic recliner. You think
- 41:09Speaker 1: your life's hard, you ever slept in a plastic decliner?

- 43:02Speaker 1: to Derek, who's a funkal who's part of this brand.
- 43:06Speaker 1: They could be in their brain right now thinking I
- 43:08Speaker 1: wonder if our Christmas card's on its way. Maybe he
- 43:11Speaker 1: just said, sure him a Christmas card. I'm just saying
- 43:13Speaker 1: out loud right now. The Young's got a Christmas card,
- 43:18Speaker 1: Clump's got a Christmas card, Lauwan's got a Christmas card.
- 43:20Speaker 1: The Christmas cards went to the families of the shop.
- 43:23Speaker 1: As I sit here in a little bit of a
- 43:25Speaker 1: panic nerves letting you guys know that you did not
- 43:28Speaker 1: get a Christmas card from the Compton family.
- 43:30Speaker 3: The Handings haven't done a Christmas card in seven years.
- 43:33Speaker 3: So I think you're all good. Okay, they're no worries
- 43:35Speaker 3: on our front.

- 43:38Speaker 5: so okay to come by.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Yeah, glad you got the Christmas card, Sherman, thank you
- 43:44Speaker 1: for people who.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Didn't set up your co host for failure. Good good slash.
- 43:53Speaker 2: If you think for a second that he doesn't love
- 43:56Speaker 2: you and appreciate you.
- 43:57Speaker 1: That's what I'm say.
- 43:59Speaker 3: I think the paychecks that come in twice a month
- 44:02Speaker 3: are pretty good substitute for.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Crazy value the paychecks over our conversations.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Yeah, he also left a note in the envelope.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Throw myself into that one.
- 44:14Speaker 2: He left a note in the envelope, but he said
- 44:15Speaker 2: he my Charle wanted to send this.
- 44:18Speaker 1: I didn't want to send it.
- 44:19Speaker 2: The Charles sent this to Jill.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I appreciate you swinging the sword for you. Boy. Yeah,
- 44:23Speaker 1: we uncomfortably sit in this pocket. Absolutely Charlo hates us. No,
- 44:28Speaker 1: you know what, you know what?
- 44:31Speaker 2: But read the comment comment I Digress logan v two
- 44:35Speaker 2: eight five five on YouTube says, boys, do you have
- 44:38Speaker 2: a po box to where the PT six community can

- 45:02Speaker 2: we will send you the po box address and you
- 45:05Speaker 2: can send us a Christmas card.
- 45:06Speaker 1: We love that. We can get some cards hanging up
- 45:08Speaker 1: on the set.
- 45:08Speaker 2: We could put on the fridge, we could put on
- 45:10Speaker 2: the set however we want.
- 45:11Speaker 1: To do it.
- 45:12Speaker 5: Also, you could email it a digital one too if
- 45:14Speaker 5: you want to. If you can email us a digital one,
- 45:16Speaker 5: we can print it out and by a way to
- 45:17Speaker 5: work too if you don't want to mail it.
- 45:19Speaker 1: That's actually very that's nice to solve right there, Derek. Hey.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Also, Derek let us into a funkal situation with the
- 45:29Speaker 2: flat tire, because I feel I feel like we've been
- 45:31Speaker 2: kind of like, oh, let's just like expel this good.
- 45:36Speaker 2: You kind of had a good situation as well.
- 45:38Speaker 5: Yeah, yesterday we So my fiance works late on Mondays,
- 45:42Speaker 5: and so I have a fantasy league where if you
- 45:43Speaker 5: score a hundred points on a guy, they have to
- 45:45Speaker 5: buy you a pizza. So last night, she's working late,
- 45:48Speaker 5: she's gluten free, all's lining up to go to show
- 45:50Speaker 5: pizza in East O.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Super excited. Take a new way home. It turns into one.
- 45:54Speaker 5: Of those off ramps where everyone tries to line up
- 45:56Speaker 5: next to each other, and I get a run off
- 45:58Speaker 5: the road basically into a pothole, and dude tired.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Done.
- 46:02Speaker 5: So I drive about four minutes to a church parking lot.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Spend a half mind you, the pizza has been ordered.
- 46:07Speaker 5: The pizza has been ordered. I have to pick up
- 46:09Speaker 5: in two minutes. Spend about a half hour in a
- 46:11Speaker 5: church parking lot last night, from like five point thirty
- 46:13Speaker 5: to six changing this tire. So put my doughnut on,
- 46:16Speaker 5: get the tire in there, take a picture post my
- 46:18Speaker 5: stupid little funny caption. If you don't have to change
- 46:20Speaker 5: your tire, you gets even thirty degree weather. And I'm
- 46:25Speaker 5: just sitting there and I'm nextiting. Cat knows me, and
- 46:27Speaker 5: she's like, well, just breathe like it's fine. I'm like, no,
- 46:30Speaker 5: like it's it's it's good, Like it's good, it's good.
- 46:33Speaker 5: Is it good that I have every penny budgeted out
- 46:35Speaker 5: for Christmas gifts and now I gonna buy a fucking
- 46:37Speaker 5: tire but five home, it's great, it's honestly amazing.
- 46:41Speaker 1: So we do that. I get the fucking pizza. It's cold.
- 46:43Speaker 5: Now I go home and just upset and I'm just
- 46:45Speaker 5: sitting there and she comes home and I will say
- 46:47Speaker 5: Cat came home on a FaceTime with her sister, and
- 46:49Speaker 5: I was just like, let me talk to the fucking kids.
- 46:51Speaker 5: I was like, let me talk to the niece and
- 46:52Speaker 5: Evian and she shut around and the nephew has the
- 46:55Speaker 5: t Rex face on.
- 46:56Speaker 1: He's going.
- 46:59Speaker 5: And Amelia said she was in a pageant. She's a
- 47:01Speaker 5: little miss the area of the world, like she was
- 47:04Speaker 5: in a parade. She's dreaming about that. How cool it is.
- 47:07Speaker 5: I was like, thank God for these kids, because like
- 47:08Speaker 5: I was just sitting there so mad because it wasn't
- 47:12Speaker 5: my Like, She's off, I want to get a pizza.
- 47:14Speaker 5: Why do I fucking want to get a pizza? I
- 47:16Speaker 5: was angry, but it ended up being a really good situation.
- 47:19Speaker 5: It was a nice little ground and the.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Ball club put up over one hundred points. I'm getting
- 47:23Speaker 1: a free pizza, oh yeah, and now I'm paying for it.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Go out to pick it up and get right off
- 47:30Speaker 1: the road. The minimum is, yeah, fifteen in this league.
- 47:33Speaker 1: And I said, if you guys can find me a
- 47:34Speaker 1: fifteen dollars fucking pizza, then I'll buy that pizza. Impossible.
- 47:37Speaker 5: So I was already in the hole, and now I'm
- 47:39Speaker 5: in the hole more all because I wanted a stupid
- 47:41Speaker 5: little pizza.
- 47:42Speaker 2: And then the I wish the call had been recorded
- 47:45Speaker 2: between us, because I call him realizing I can just
- 47:49Speaker 2: take Scarlet to daycare. Why am I freaking out? Because
- 47:52Speaker 2: we're coming up with this hole for the audience at home.
- 47:55Speaker 2: We're coming up with the plan of Sherman will be
- 47:57Speaker 2: home with Scarlet watching and zoom in and we'll try
- 48:00Speaker 2: and do this blah blah blah after our phone call.
- 48:04Speaker 2: This is after our phone call. Okay, this is after
- 48:09Speaker 2: our phone call. I then realized, oh, I can take
- 48:12Speaker 2: Scarlet to daycare. So then I called Derek to then
- 48:16Speaker 2: tell him, Hey, I'm gonna take Scarlet to daycare, I think,
- 48:18Speaker 2: blah blah blah to check in with him, and I
- 48:20Speaker 2: start off the call with, Hey, how's it going, And
- 48:23Speaker 2: he then tells me about the flat tire situation, and
- 48:26Speaker 2: in the background you just hear Scarlet going and I
- 48:32Speaker 2: just go, well, Derek, you know, it sounds like we're
- 48:35Speaker 2: both doing great. So I can't wait to see you
- 48:39Speaker 2: tomorrow and give you a hug. Everything's okay.
- 48:42Speaker 1: God for the dads, Man for the dad's of the
- 48:46Speaker 1: Brand's here bro for the dads. I already know Surean
- 48:49Speaker 1: was trying to figure it out last night because we
- 48:52Speaker 1: were on and off the phone, and I'm basically just like,
- 48:56Speaker 1: whatever you say you can do, we're gonna have to
- 48:58Speaker 1: get done. But I know, getting on the phone, I
- 49:01Speaker 1: know getting off the phone, Sure Sharm feeling whatever energy
- 49:04Speaker 1: I had, He's thinking, it doesn't feel like it's good
- 49:08Speaker 1: enough because I did. It's almost like I didn't have
- 49:11Speaker 1: the daycare situation in my head because I wish I
- 49:14Speaker 1: would have brought that up. Now that it got brought up, yeah,
- 49:17Speaker 1: to like take them there, because more of like after
- 49:19Speaker 1: Sharm comes up and he's kind of asking about it
- 49:21Speaker 1: or alluding to, hey, wife's sick he had talked to
- 49:25Speaker 1: wife yet and trying to figure out a plan, game
- 49:29Speaker 1: plan for tomorrow. I was like, well, you're bringing me
- 49:32Speaker 1: a problem. Do we have the solution? And this is
- 49:34Speaker 1: after you know, going six hours on the bus and
- 49:36Speaker 1: everything else. My brain is just like all right, I
- 49:38Speaker 1: got about before to get everybody's brains are fried. Yeah,
- 49:42Speaker 1: And I'm like, hey, you figure out a solution whatever
- 49:45Speaker 1: whatever we can do. If we have to move it,
- 49:47Speaker 1: we have to come in tomorrow night, and then the
- 49:48Speaker 1: boys are just gonna have to grind through getting this
- 49:51Speaker 1: out so that way it can land at Wednesday morning
- 49:53Speaker 1: as everybody's listening to this right now. Whatever we got
- 49:56Speaker 1: to do, let's just however you can come up with
- 49:58Speaker 1: the solution, we can figure it out. The only thing
- 50:00Speaker 1: I was, I guess I felt like we didn't turn
- 50:07Speaker 1: over every stone yet when you brought up the zoom
- 50:10Speaker 1: and everything else last night to do the zoom on
- 50:13Speaker 1: the bus is I got off the phone saying to myself,
- 50:16Speaker 1: we don't even know what Jill has said yet, because
- 50:20Speaker 1: you said you still hadn't talked to your wife. It
- 50:21Speaker 1: still hadn't talked to my wife yet. But I know
- 50:23Speaker 1: you're in the you're in your own trenches. Oh so
- 50:26Speaker 1: I don't want to make a situation feel like, make
- 50:28Speaker 1: you feel shitty getting off the phone, But I'm thinking, bro,
- 50:31Speaker 1: there's gotta be a way that we could do it
- 50:34Speaker 1: in person, and if we can't, then at least we
- 50:36Speaker 1: would know, based on your conversation with Wifey that we
- 50:39Speaker 1: truly would not be able to do it. And when
- 50:41Speaker 1: I didn't know, it was more of like this, uh,
- 50:45Speaker 1: Jill Zilla Jill zil. He hasn't even talked to Jill yet. Yes,
- 50:48Speaker 1: and he's like, this is the solution. It's like, we
- 50:50Speaker 1: don't even know if we can't yet, but hey, if
- 50:52Speaker 1: this is all we can do, well you will have
- 50:54Speaker 1: to do it on zoom.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I'm also playing four D chess in my head because
- 50:57Speaker 2: I'm having a meeting with these guys and we're coming up. Well,
- 51:02Speaker 2: maybe Scarlet can come up to the office. Yeah, and
- 51:05Speaker 2: you go like that, that's a real picture into your life.
- 51:08Speaker 2: And then in my head, I'm overthinking and going, oh, am,
- 51:11Speaker 2: I just gonna look like a dad that's using his
- 51:13Speaker 2: kid for clicks in this situation. And how does that
- 51:16Speaker 2: look to Jill's parents that I brought my kid up
- 51:19Speaker 2: to the office while their daughter's sick at home.
- 51:22Speaker 1: And I'm like overthinking. We got to see when team
- 51:25Speaker 1: sixers ready to go on the other side. That's true, Coop,
- 51:29Speaker 1: It's not like Scarlett would have would have been sitting
- 51:32Speaker 1: here on camera with us. Yes, well, we got some
- 51:34Speaker 1: fellows that are more than equip.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true, all all said and done, had a
- 51:39Speaker 2: great confidence.
- 51:40Speaker 1: This was Yeah, this.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Was the perfect situation of and wait to chalk it
- 51:45Speaker 2: up like Will was very helpful. I told him, Hey,
- 51:50Speaker 2: I am sorry that I'm not bringing any solutions, but
- 51:53Speaker 2: it's more so I'm talking to you, less of Will
- 51:56Speaker 2: my boss, and more so, hey, will you have kids
- 51:59Speaker 2: and maybe experience this. I've never experienced this. What the
- 52:03Speaker 2: hell do I do? And we had a good conversation
- 52:05Speaker 2: of like, okay, there are some options, but all said
- 52:09Speaker 2: and done, had a really good conversation with my mom.
- 52:11Speaker 2: She has a best friend that lives in Nashville. We
- 52:14Speaker 2: need a babysitter. We need a babysitter a billion person.
- 52:18Speaker 1: We need a.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Babysitter my wife or my wife. My mom is coming
- 52:23Speaker 2: in town this week on Thursday to uh, like help
- 52:27Speaker 2: with scarlet and stuff, so Jill and I can do
- 52:29Speaker 2: another date night. But like our in laws and stuff
- 52:32Speaker 2: flying in like.
- 52:33Speaker 1: That's yeah, they live in Texas. They live in Texas.
- 52:36Speaker 2: That's not realistic for the future. They do miss us
- 52:39Speaker 2: and they want to see us, but yeah, like that
- 52:41Speaker 2: stuff's great.
- 52:41Speaker 1: But again for like young parents and young families who
- 52:44Speaker 1: have young kids, and you're experiencing like, hey, we need
- 52:47Speaker 1: to get back into doing date nights and thinking about
- 52:50Speaker 1: us a little bit more because it's bogged us down.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Have it just be kid kid kid or kids kids kids. Yes,
- 52:55Speaker 1: you do need a rollodex of one of two babysitters
- 52:58Speaker 1: that you feel like you can trust and call and
- 52:59Speaker 1: that you know you're hoping that they would be available
- 53:01Speaker 1: on a pinch.
- 53:02Speaker 2: And so my mom has a best friend here in Nashville,
- 53:05Speaker 2: and I was like, Mom, put the word out, give
- 53:08Speaker 2: give me her number. But you reach out and because
- 53:11Speaker 2: I'm sure that they have a rolodex of people that
- 53:13Speaker 2: they trust. Yeah, because it is it's like very foreign.
- 53:17Speaker 2: We love our network in Nashville. I love all this
- 53:21Speaker 2: community that I have, But I feel some type of
- 53:24Speaker 2: way I'm not going to call Jared Beeman and his
- 53:25Speaker 2: wife to like, come watch my kid, because Jared's my coworker.
- 53:29Speaker 2: He's not my babysitter. Like he's my friend, he's not
- 53:32Speaker 2: my babysitter. So I want like an actual my title
- 53:36Speaker 2: is I'm a babysitter is what I'm looking for. And
- 53:40Speaker 2: we just have been dragging our feet on it. And
- 53:44Speaker 2: it's a hard situation because if we're in Fort Worth,
- 53:47Speaker 2: I could name thirty people that I would take their
- 53:51Speaker 2: opinions in of who their babysitters are, and I would
- 53:54Speaker 2: use their babysitters, like you just have that network. We
- 53:57Speaker 2: don't have that here, but we do. We just got
- 54:01Speaker 2: to dig for it and find it and be purposeful.
- 54:04Speaker 2: And so that was the learning lesson from me.
- 54:05Speaker 1: In the middle of the chaos, in the middle of
- 54:07Speaker 1: the limited time you already have. So it's like, you know,
- 54:10Speaker 1: the answers like Charles, like Charles having to figure out
- 54:12Speaker 1: who can be Like when Audrey she's pregnant, so we're
- 54:15Speaker 1: gonna lose her as a nanny. We're gonna have to
- 54:17Speaker 1: figure out who, like, who's gonna be the replacement? We
- 54:21Speaker 1: know that answer. I know that answer. Charles knows that answer.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Charles like, well, I know I'm gonna have to be
- 54:25Speaker 1: the one diving in and figuring out who the next
- 54:28Speaker 1: nanny's gonna be in the middle of all the chaos
- 54:30Speaker 1: of kids, a husband and wife, job, run the business,
- 54:34Speaker 1: everything else. It's just like U he has legitimately like
- 54:39Speaker 1: vetting people, just going through that process that you don't
- 54:42Speaker 1: want to go through.
- 54:43Speaker 2: And that's another good example of Jill very like subtweeting
- 54:48Speaker 2: husband to help in this situation because she has brought
- 54:51Speaker 2: up and we really need to find a babysitter. Man,
- 54:53Speaker 2: we really need to find a babysitter. I really want
- 54:56Speaker 2: to go on to date night if only we had
- 54:58Speaker 2: a babysitter. And I'm sitting there driving, you know, nothing
- 55:02Speaker 2: going on in my head, just going, yeah, babysitter would
- 55:05Speaker 2: be good. Yeah, yeah, pick up the phone and find
- 55:08Speaker 2: a fucking babysitter.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Sure, man, what even so when I'll get into and
- 55:13Speaker 1: we don't even get into arguments, I was gonna say,
- 55:15Speaker 1: if I get into that argument with why we don't
- 55:16Speaker 1: get into those argies.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Well, and it wasn't. Yes, to your point, it wasn't
- 55:19Speaker 2: an argument right.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Right, But I'm saying if it gets if it's like
- 55:23Speaker 1: I think to myself, sweetheart, I can find a babysitter,
- 55:28Speaker 1: but I already know if I find it, like to
- 55:30Speaker 1: me as dad, as male, as how my brain works. Yes,
- 55:35Speaker 1: if you find a babysitter and you trust said babysitter,
- 55:38Speaker 1: I'm not I trust you. Yes, So if the babysitter
- 55:42Speaker 1: walks in, like I'm just trusting that we have a babysitter, yeah,
- 55:45Speaker 1: my god, we got a sitter for tonight. If I
- 55:47Speaker 1: find a babysitter, or if dads are the men, I
- 55:50Speaker 1: feel like, find the babysitter. No matter what, Mom's gonna
- 55:52Speaker 1: want to vet and feel very good about said babysitter.
- 55:55Speaker 1: So I think a million this you'll have to you
- 55:59Speaker 1: might as well rip this because no matter what, you're
- 56:01Speaker 1: gonna want to feel just as good as I do
- 56:04Speaker 1: about said baby. There's no world where I get the babysitter.
- 56:07Speaker 1: This person that you don't know walks in the door.
- 56:09Speaker 1: You're thinking, like me in this situation, we just get
- 56:11Speaker 1: in the car and go because you're like, oh, I
- 56:13Speaker 1: trust a trust hubby here that he just landed this
- 56:16Speaker 1: this awesome babysitter that neither of us know.
- 56:18Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, how did you venom?
- 56:20Speaker 1: They love college football?
- 56:21Speaker 2: Honey, she's a big college football, she's great.
- 56:26Speaker 1: How did they land the job? She said, go big Red?
- 56:28Speaker 1: And I was like, you think dyl Real is gonna
- 56:32Speaker 1: hit the portal? Good insight about it. Let's say you
- 56:36Speaker 1: go over miles anytime.
- 56:38Speaker 2: And truly and yes, I know, if I pick out
- 56:41Speaker 2: a outfit for Scarlet, her feet will be covered, she'll
- 56:45Speaker 2: have a cuebo, she'll have a cute whatever. But Jill
- 56:48Speaker 2: is going to be like, hold on, hold on, what
- 56:50Speaker 2: are we doing using this outfit. She needs sweater, blah
- 56:54Speaker 2: blah blah. You know what you dress the kids, So
- 56:55Speaker 2: you dressed the kid. So that's how I think at
- 56:57Speaker 2: my head of if I picked the babysit. There's gonna
- 57:00Speaker 2: be multiple notes on top of that, which is fine,
- 57:04Speaker 2: But I'm automatically assuming, oh, that's a jill job, because
- 57:07Speaker 2: sh'll want final check and say.
- 57:11Speaker 1: Of who we hire. Yeah, let's let's take out Let's
- 57:13Speaker 1: separate the person from the problem. Let's separate the idea
- 57:17Speaker 1: of does the man do this or the woman does this?
- 57:20Speaker 1: Like who's the most equipped, Like who's going to be
- 57:23Speaker 1: the most detailed in handling this said job? Yeah, because
- 57:27Speaker 1: if I interview, you're gonna be interviewing me on the backside.
- 57:31Speaker 1: And then reminded me of questions that I forgot to
- 57:33Speaker 1: ask or didn't ask. Hey, you seem like the one
- 57:35Speaker 1: you said that the one most well equipped to handle
- 57:38Speaker 1: this said job. Yes, and again there might be dads
- 57:41Speaker 1: who absolutely rip that job and have are the ones
- 57:44Speaker 1: that the land of the baby. So I have no clue.
- 57:46Speaker 1: I'm just talking more from my if. When char brings
- 57:49Speaker 1: it up, I hate Sweeter. I know this is gonna
- 57:50Speaker 1: be this could be one that I could do. Look,
- 57:53Speaker 1: I could do this, but if I do this, here's
- 57:55Speaker 1: what I would like not to happen, because if you
- 57:57Speaker 1: were doing this on the back end to me, I'm
- 57:59Speaker 1: just say making in my head you might as well
- 58:01Speaker 1: just go ahead and fill this role. Or at the
- 58:04Speaker 1: very beginning, Hey, honey, I would love to take on
- 58:07Speaker 1: this job. Tell me all the tempoles that I need
- 58:10Speaker 1: to hit as far as babysitter, and I'll find that
- 58:13Speaker 1: fucking baby. And then from that moment forward, let me
- 58:16Speaker 1: own my job. Yes, let me own my role.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Let me be great, which Jill, Jill Will allowed that,
- 58:21Speaker 2: but I need to ask that upfront of like what,
- 58:24Speaker 2: Okay needs to be a registered nurse. Got it needs
- 58:27Speaker 2: to be local. Got it needs to you know.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Look at this man just trying to figure it out
- 58:31Speaker 1: and solve it. That's out there, Like yeah, yeah, go Willy,
- 58:39Speaker 1: he shout out.
- 58:42Speaker 2: My favorite comment from the weekend was the clip of
- 58:45Speaker 2: will being like, yeah, I'm reading now, I read, and
- 58:50Speaker 2: somebody said artists formerly known as Willie one page, Willie
- 58:57Speaker 2: one page, that's phenomenal, Willy ninety pages.
- 59:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm over a hunter now a hundred Hey, Willy bookshelf,
- 59:07Speaker 1: will Willie bookshelf.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Baby, that's a Derek original. That's a Derek original.
- 59:12Speaker 1: On should we get into voicemails. Crack a cold one.
- 59:15Speaker 1: I mean we've said a lot of stuff that's like hacks.
- 59:18Speaker 1: By the way, you kind of slid that in there
- 59:20Speaker 1: as a dad hack earlier when you talk about taking
- 59:22Speaker 1: the baby wipe and put on the baby stomach. Yes, sir,
- 59:24Speaker 1: that's for a five month old. So people in that
- 59:26Speaker 1: world you're trying to keep them awake to drink the bottle.
- 59:28Speaker 1: That sounds like a great dad hack.
- 59:31Speaker 2: She didn't sound miserable like when I was, you know,
- 59:34Speaker 2: like she wasn't crying or anything. It would rouse her
- 59:37Speaker 2: enough to be like that's the game.
- 59:38Speaker 1: There ain't no yeah, like whatever, whatever it takes, whatever
- 59:41Speaker 1: it's wake your young ass up.
- 59:43Speaker 2: They drink this bottle, drink this baba crack Okay, So
- 59:47Speaker 2: crack a cold one, because what would it be if
- 59:50Speaker 2: we didn't do a crack a cold one really quick?
- 59:53Speaker 1: It'd be a shit episode? Would be us forgetting to
- 59:55Speaker 1: take out the trash exactly. CODs Conceptually conceptually can I

- 1:01:18Speaker 1: went beautifully, boys like beautifully. Rue conquered her fear taking
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: a photo with Santa smiled, and Scottie learned from her
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: new fear. Yeah, she learned a new fear of Santa Claus. Okay,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: and it was incredible. I caught a little video and
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I already know to myself, I see Scotty hanging on
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: mom a little tight. So you know, as dad, I
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: know a funny moment's coming. Let me slide out the
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: phone and get the video rolling, because I already know
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: she's gonna start crying. Come on, boom, take Scotty, sit
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: her on Santa Claus's lap, and you just see it
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: all happen. Face starts to go, she starts to cry.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I'm chuckling behind the camera and she just helplessly sits
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: thinking she's about to this is her life, last moment
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: on earth, as this gentleman in a red suit and
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: white beards.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Holding her will's behind the camera.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Hey there he goes, got it, there you go. You
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: means Santa Claus, you're doing some good. Oh dude. Rue
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: was nervous, but she she met Santa. We took a
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: family photo together, and then she wanted to do it
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: a second time and her and Scotty. Scotty cried again. Yay.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Rue conquered her fear with Santa Claus this year, good
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: and Scottie learned her fear of Santa Claus this year.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: So it was it was perfect. That's a cold one
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: worthy of cracking, sir. Yeah, do we want to get
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: into Collins? Yeah, let's do it, man, let's do it.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Let's get in the Collins again. You want to be
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: featured on the show? Six and one of the dad's
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: call in leave a voicemail, will feature on the show
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: and we will send you some merchandise.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Will Sherman's pulling this up? Real quick question for the audience.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: Did anyone listen to our Halloween story? Because if you
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: did and you enjoy it, we'll do a Christmas one.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: But I want to make sure.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: We didn't get any comments on it when we posted it,
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: so I don't know if anyone saw it. It was
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: at the end of the episode. But I really want
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: to do another because it was really fun.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: Hey, we posted the Halloween story and it got zero comments.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: People might have listened, we don't know, but we didn't
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: get any. We didn't really, I personally in my head,
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: did we get comments? I thought, oh, okay, we got comments.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: I personally in my head thought it was going to
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: be some like AI animated storytelling happening, not just kind
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: of like where it's just you know, a little song
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: and then like what.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we're gonna We're gonna expand on it. That
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: was the first run.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: And then like when I'm doing my character, I'm envisioning
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: what this character might look like when the YouTube rols out,
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: But when it just kind of sat there on like
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: a you know, like a desktop background with a little
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: bit of music while the story just went, I'm like, hey, yeah.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right, and that that was on That was
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: on me. But if we get a chance at a
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: Christmas shot, we're gonna go big and it's gonna be great.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: But we just need to know if we want animation,
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: I just need to do it early because it I
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: don't know how to animate, but I'll figure it out.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Yeah again, that was just what I was thinking in
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: my head it was gonna be. We kind of knew
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: when we put up.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: I was like this, it is like the low fi Youtubeah.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: But so if I got no comments, I'm almost like
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: just so people reached out.
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: I read through a lot of people send in pictures
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: of uh like, we had a couple of people images
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: that people having their kid watched the leaves fall and
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: the story on and stuff like that, and people.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Commented, okay, okay, I'm missing they did, Derek says. People
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: reached out, I would you just your family the video
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: and group chat and they just bumbed up it.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: No, I have a comment right here that says, Mila
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: the bat fucking ribs.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Way to go with it. Okay, way to go, Willie.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: I must have read him like right when the episode
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: came out and then didn't bother because I.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: And I don't want to do this to myself.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I don't want to who voice Benny the Puppy Academy
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Award where they I've there's like eight more.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: I don't want to. But that's that's all.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Men.

- 1:06:36Speaker 2: This one titled Bathtime Combos.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: What's up? Boys?
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: This is Taylor from Idaho, Pt. Sixer now for I
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: mean my little girl she is eighteen months old. Just
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: need some advice here. My wife and I, as of
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: the last I think eight or ten months, we've been
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: making sure that we switch off bath time every night, right,
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: So whoever does the bath, the other person does the dishes,
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: and I won't lie. Shame on me. For a little while,
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: I was always like a son of it's my turn
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: to do the bath, right, But now I obviously I
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: know that I need to not take the bad time
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: for Granted, it's some extra special time that I get
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: to spend with my daughter Emmy, And she's at that
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: age where she's not like talking. She can understand me,
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: but she's not talking. What the heck do I do
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: in the bath with her? Do I just like down
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: with third Do I just like singing some songs?
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Do I just like continue to play with the toys?
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: I just you ot to do that and I just
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: kind of hang out and chill like I don't know
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: what to do, Like, how do I make that extra
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: special for her?
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: Am?
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: I supposed to be teaching her things in the bath?
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: What do y'all do for bath time? Do you let
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: him hang out for a long time? Do you get
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: the cleaning done and get out?
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Like? What what does bathtime look like? God? What a
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: call in? Hey, this is a man that needs some help.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: He needs some help, like we all do.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: I don't even I don't even know how to answer
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: that question because I'm trying to think what I do
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: during bathtime?
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: You just kind of play and talk to him like
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I'm picturing my man. What's his name, Timothy, Timothy from Idaho?
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: From Idaho, Timothy, just picturing tim Just set the kid
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: in the bathtub, and he's just kind of sitting there
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: looking at her, just thinking, what do I do here?
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: So?
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: What?
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Okay, we clean the baby? What's next? Why what do
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: you come downstairs? Baby's clean? Watched like you guys have
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: fun a bast time. He's like, I think, I guess.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: I don't know. I just looked at her.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I pour, uh, I need to record myself. I think
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna record myself to where you just see me
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: during bathtime to see what I do because I'm actually interested.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I do a ton of baby talk. Yeah, I know
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: that you're just sitting there kind of conversing with him,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: like yah, I'm picturing especially if Ru back when she
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: was eighteen months, because he's in it. He's in a
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: great he's in a great pocket for age. Like I
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: feel like sixteen months sticks out as the month where
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Rue's personality really started to show up A little bit. Yeah,
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I'm just taking Yeah, eighteen months. You get your kiddo
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: in the water, you know, is it too Oh it's
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: not too hot. Oh, it feels just right. And you
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: kind of slowly get him in the water. You're like,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: oh is that warm and cozy? And you take the
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: little cup. You start like pouring it on their little body,
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: like oh, here comes in on the right shoulder. Boop.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: You start getting their hair. Oh can I get you
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: don't want it in your eyes? Let me block it.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Can you look up a little bit? You gotta look
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: up or water's gonna get in your eyes. You pour
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: it on them. Oh look look at your toys, whether
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: it's a little scrunchy ones that's just like letters, yeah yeah.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Or we have a couple of little fish, a couple
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: little things she can play with that are kind of
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: connected to the side of the bathtub, or she can
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: spin it or whatever. Again, trying to picture her at
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: eighteen months old. Cascotti's won. We kind of have her
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: sitting on that little yeah, like trike thing where they
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: got a little that you set them on and those
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: are quick, those are like quick bass right yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: like you said there and you dump tho a cup
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: on them. A couple of times. You get to soap
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: with the rag. You go around there, you like sing
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: them a song or play with them, or talk about splashing.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: It's like at that age too, Like Scotty, He's like,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: do you want to slash? Splas splashplash. You kind of
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: show him on a splash and they spla, Oh my gosh,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: you love splash under the neck and then you know,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: soap their head, rub it.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: I uh, maybe a Dad Hack waterproof book. We got
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: one at Target.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Nice.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: It's fun, It's got little pictures in it. Then Scarlet's
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: like just now being able to like hold things with
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: both hands. I put the book in her hands and
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: just holding it and putting it in her mouth instead
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: of reading it. And I'm talking for Scarlet. Yeah, oh,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Dad dies, I like this book. Oh really, Scarlet? Are
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: you reading the book?
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Yeah? Doing such a good job. Tim strikes me as
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: a man who he's confused on what to do when
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the job is so easy. But he seems like a
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: man's man to where he's pretty reserved and doesn't say
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: a whole lot of words, doesn't necessarily care to communicate
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: his emotions, just wants to like feel pain or anger
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: and kind of you know, stay quiet, be very internal.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: That's who he strikes me as. But this, yeah, this
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: bath game is easy because you got to think to
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: your flip the switch in your brain and think, I'm
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: gonna sound stupid right now and I'm notoxious, but I'm
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: gonna do it with my little girl. Yeah, that's all
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: it is. Because Scott's Zilla. The difference between your ruin
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: and Scott' Zilla rue. She would have to tilt her
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: because she hates some one like water gets and rise
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: and everything else. Scott Zilla. I'll dump the cup on
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: her head. I'll don their water border a couple times
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: because she's just sitting there. She she eats it, bro
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: she eats it. I'll be dump it on her head.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: You know when you get a little curious, Okay, if
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: a little bit gets on their eyes, like how do
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: they react like smiles or whatever. And then I'm like,
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: you know, get a little cup of water and then
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: like dump it on her head and then she smiles.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, you got to mess with the water. Now,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: let's get a little action in here. Scotty.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's exactly like Scarlet's like reaching at the
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: I like, you know, pour the cup on her and yeah,
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: she's like reaching for the water. Yeah, gets on her
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: face and she kind of like shakes, but then she's like, okay,
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: I want more.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Yeah, there's another little dad hack in during bad time
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: and she take the cup of water, gets you a
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: big cup of water too, and just do like a
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: slow pour in front of them. Or they have like
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: that little stream and they just want to grab it
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: and there figuring out what water is, what it feels like,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, is this going through my hand? How's
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: it going around? Whenever I take my hand out, the
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: stream still goes all the way down to the water
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: with I can't grab it and pull it. And they're
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: just kind of fascinating. You just stare at them, and Scarlett,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: is that water, Oh my goodness, are you thirsty? You
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: can't drink it.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: It's got soaphy in it. And Scarlet, if her brain
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: is telling her that looks like I could drink that.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: And so whenever I like pour it under like her neck,
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: the entire time, she's going trying to drink it and
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: I'm like, oh no, no, no, don't drink this.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: Oh. They take some scru she kind of put in
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: her mouth. No, that's dirty water. You don't want to
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: drink that. You don't want to drink that water. No, no,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: cut it out. Stop. Sorry, you're ruining batht No, we
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: don't drink that water. Then water's better. You know that's
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: dirty water? All right, okay, stop cut it out right now.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so you just want to go to bed, okay, baby,
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Thank you Timothy for Timothy Baby proving the Xmas tree.
- 1:13:35Speaker 8: Santo Willie, I need some advice here. Maybe you guys
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: could discuss this one on the pod. As you know,
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: it's Christmas season.
- 1:13:43Speaker 7: I got a one and a half quarter year old son.
- 1:13:47Speaker 8: He's at that age where he's walking but not quite
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: speaking English yet, just gibber jabberin. And it's Christmas tree.
- 1:13:53Speaker 8: Time house already is closing in on us because we
- 1:13:57Speaker 8: got toys all over the fucking place.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: I'm tripping on little race cars, legos, building blocks.
- 1:14:03Speaker 8: We're watching Miss Rachel on a repeat, trying to introduce
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: the young buck to the Charlie Brown Christmas specials.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Things that.
- 1:14:14Speaker 8: This guy wants to tear down on a Christmas tree.
- 1:14:16Speaker 8: I've tried fences, I've tried putting it on a table.
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: It's a bad News Bears type situation.
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: Here.
- 1:14:24Speaker 7: What's your Christmas tree proof of baby advice?
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: What do you got for me?
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: I need a life raft here because I'm about to
- 1:14:32Speaker 8: go get my third Christmas tree because for some reason,
- 1:14:35Speaker 8: these things they just keep getting fucked up. One of
- 1:14:38Speaker 8: them was too pussy. I went too light and it
- 1:14:41Speaker 8: fell fell off the stand. I'm not about to rebuild
- 1:14:44Speaker 8: a stand. The other one had bugs in it. Kid
- 1:14:49Speaker 8: had bugs in his hair and stuff.
- 1:14:52Speaker 7: Bad News Bears. Maybe I gotta get a fake tree.
- 1:14:55Speaker 8: I don't know the issue, but any baby proof Christmas
- 1:14:59Speaker 8: tree advice, I hope you and a good merry Christmas brother.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: I hope you're good. Good luck, good luck with those
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: bucks in the Christmas tree. But they're coming from every direction.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Now, I hate it. I grew up a real tree kid.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: We'd go to the tree farm, we'd cut it down,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: my dad would, we'd my brothers and I we'd pretend
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: to play deer Hunter six while we were out there
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: running around looking for a Christmas tree. Yeah, and uh,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: but I'm a fake tree guy. Okay, I'm a fake
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: tree guy. I hate to admit it, but it is
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: what it is. Yeah, it's easier. You get it going
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: up every year you put it back in the box.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: And it sounds like what he's dealing with the little demon.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: He sees a tree. This is King Kong now going
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: through the jungle, ripping off the tree and everything else.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: To me, the first one is, well, you can get
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: a fake tree, but I don't know how to I
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: don't know how to stop the rushing attack to the
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Christmas tree. Scotty's the same way, Scotty damn near she did.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: She broke Ruth's fine ornament. It's kind of cracked all over,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: so it's very sensitive. It will fall apart. We do
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: have it back on the tree. It's hanging on for
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: dear life right now. But if it goes down again,
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: it's over with. I don't know what to do. I
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: don't know what to do. Help me, help me. I
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: don't know how to stop my child from grabbing the
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: ornaments on the Christmas tree.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: I have this off, I have this off.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: How high can she reach? I mean shit, but she
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: can probably reach like and that's about three feet off
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: to the lower part of the tree, you know what
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: I mean? Like, I know you can get the ornaments
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: up higher. But she's still grabbing at this stuff on
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the tree, and you just gotta see Scottie, gentle, gentle,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: and they're kind of approaching them slowly, go ahead, surem.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Okay, really quicks off target, has indestructible ornaments by the
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: baby its own tree that it can fuck up and
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: put the indestructible ornaments on it and just let them
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: have it.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Now, hang on these indestructible ornaments? Can you still take
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: them off the tree?
- 1:17:13Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. What's wrong with that? Just
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: ornaments all over the floor. That's okay. Still got to
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: hang them back on the tree.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: It's still good.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: That's what parents are trying to figure out here is
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: when the baby gets close to the tree and they
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: got a hold of an ornament, and you don't just
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: want to snap, hey stop sometimes I'll do that, scott Scotty, no, no, no,
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: And you almost you're approaching them like they're like they
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: have a gun on them. Yeah, like Scotty, easy, gentle,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: And you slowly start walking towards them, gentle. They start
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: smiling a little bit easy, she starts no, and then
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: you grab them and just remove them from the situation,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: and then you just hope you're sitting there playing your
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: basketball in them, guard them so they don't get to
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: the tree. And I just kind of guide her. Go
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: over there, go over there. Look at that over there,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Go get the ball. And that's where the fake tree,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: the fake small tree comes in. Look at that little thing.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Go fuck that thing up. Okay, I see what you're
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: saying to me. No matter what, they're still ripping off,
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: like if you get the indestructible ornaments, like, yeah, it
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: sucks with the that ruse ornaments broken. But no matter what,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: she's ripping off ornaments from the thing, like, I still
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: got to I get on my hands and knees. You
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: gotta put the little hook back in the thing, and
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: then you put the ornament back on the tree.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Well that's okay. So here's what I would do to
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: explain it really quick. I would put a fence, like
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: a dog type gate around real Christmas tree with breakable
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: ornaments to distract child. Buy fifteen dollars tree that's only
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: like two feet tall, put a bunch of indestructible ornaments
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: on it, and then that's what they're fucking up all
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: the time.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: Does that make sense. Yeah, I want to get a
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: gait a cage of some sort. Yeah, and just put
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Scottie in it. Like every time she gets involved in something,
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: she's climbing up on rue stepstool. Now, Like I'll look
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: over and I just see your little head popping up
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: from the island and I'm like, God, Scotty, how'd you
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: get over there? I've told you you can't climb this.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: She gets around everything. She she clears out every cabinet
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: that has stuff in it. Yeah, this is every day,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: and I tell your every time, sweetheart. This is why
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: I want to get a cage for get a little
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: play pin. Yeah, she needs to be like Ugga during
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: the sec Ji chip game to where that's sitting in
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: a kennel. You can't come outt is scott Zillo. She
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: is ugg Yeah, Dane shev.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. Please, what was your thoughts on it?
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: This might be a bad idea, okay, But as a kid,
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: my parents under our tree we had in a little
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: root Oflph the Reindeer electronic train. It's a train that
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: just goes around the tree. And maybe it's a little
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: bit of a smoke and mirrors thing that they're seeing
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: like an actual moving train come around and she doesn't
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: want to dat they might because for me and my
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: little brother, that was never an issue. I don't know
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: if it's because we would turn on the train and
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: watch it go around the tree.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: You're probably just scared of the trains. No, I don't
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: think so. I think you were a pussy. Your probably, Lama.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: You know it was like, I'm not gonna get rain
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: over by the train. My number one shows was Thomas
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: a tank Engine. I think you're kid, you were scared.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: I think you as a one year old you was
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: a pussy. Chef, mamauck you in how many? How many
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: bedtime cases did you get? Chef? I come to you
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: with a solution. Your tea, Lama, Lama, Red Pajama? Was
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: that your favorite book? Chef? No, well, chef, because if
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Scotty saw the train, that train's getting sucked up. Okay,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: I was about maybe it's the train.
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: You buy the train knowing that the train's going to
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: be a sacrificial lamb, and then you hang all the
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: all the ornaments that are breakable. You don't want those
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: stay above halfway up the tree line.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Then I look over and Scott's will be at
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: the top of the tree tearning down the star. Yeah,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: you might be a shall you look up there? Scotti's
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: up there? What you have?
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: Kay Adams?
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: In ten minutes? Okay you want to we can pick
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: back up? Uh we I We're pretty much good the rock,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: aren't We're pretty much. I got a nice little I
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: saw on Instagram post and then I I can read
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: the lesson and.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: I have like a little lesson too or something I
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: saw that was just.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Like a great, great little reminder, great little prospective piece
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: from my man too doing bath time, like, hey, enjoying
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: bad time. I know I'm gonna miss bad time for me,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: the whole thing of bad time for me. It's just
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: my little back just getting down on the ground. Yeah,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Like I'll be the whole chest hanging on the side
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: of the bath, like reaching my arms up because it's
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: like sometimes I just can't stay lies and support my
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: low back.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: You need the third arm construction worker apparatus. If anybody's
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: seen that on social media, will be a little Christmas
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: maybe a little Christmas gift all right here. This comes
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: from Wealthy, Healthy and Blonde. The profile on Instagram. We're thirty.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: It's December and he asked me what I want for
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Christmas this year.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: Oh. I laugh and say, oh, I don't know. Sleep, Silence, sanity.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: He half smiles because we both know I can't have that.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: We're eighty now. It's December, and he asked me what
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: I want for Christmas this year. I look at the
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: tree filled with handmade ornaments, now decades old, they hang quietly, untouched.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: I look at the lights glowing across an empty floor,
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: no longer full of toy cars, legos, and crumbs. I
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: recall the years where everything felt alive, the squeals at sunrise,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: the torn open boxes, the little voice is yelling, Mama,
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: come see me. I cry and say, oh, I don't know.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Just one more Christmas when they were little. He have
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: smiles because we both know I can't have that. And
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: that's when it hit me. I got everything I wanted
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: when I was thirty. Turns out I miss everything I
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: had when I was thirty. The days are messy, but
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: the years are magic, and you can't get him back,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: so enjoy them. That's a good one right there. It
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: almost caught me on the last two slides.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: That is a good one. God, that's a good reminder
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: of just yeah, enjoy the suck, Embrace the suck. Mine
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: falls in that as well. Here's my lesson of the week.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: This week has been has reminded me of something simple
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: but heavy. When man on man isn't working, you gotta
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: switch to zone coverage. As a dad, sometimes your number
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: one job is stepping up when you're partner can't. There
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: are days where everything feels normal routines click, kid is fed,
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: everyone's laughing, life is on the rails. And then there
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: are days when your partner is exhausted, sick, mentally drained,
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: burnt out, or just done. That's when it's your moment,
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: not to complain, not to keep score, not to point
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: out whose turn it was, but to silently step in,
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: pick up the load, and carry it. Being a good
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: partner isn't about even splits. It's about coverage. When one
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: person is down, the other fills the space. That might
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: mean doing bathtime without being asked, handling bedtime routines, solo
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: cleaning the kitchen even when you worked all day running
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: errands so she can lay down for twenty minutes, taking
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: the emotional hits so she doesn't have to. It's not
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: glamorous No one applauds you, but it matters because when
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: your wife feels safe, supported and seen, your home becomes stronger.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: Your kids learned teamwork by watching it, and your marriage
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: becomes less about surviving seasons and more about winning the
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: seasons together. So Dad's this week, just pay attention. If
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: she's struggling, step in, if she's overwhelmed, anchor the household.
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: If she's running on fumes, be the refuel station. Not
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: because it's your duty, but because that's what love looks like.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: In real life. Well done, well done, my friend great
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: so today a.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: Great so, great so and one of our shortest sodes potentially,
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: What were we running at?
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: This is going to be the shortest sode since episode
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: of one. That's okay, It's okay, a lot going on,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: I know, Papa Team shakes will come. There'll be some
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: mentions about the short episode that we covered a lot
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: though we did. We had some fun. Yeah, that was
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: quick and fast, but we hit all the bases.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: The sound waves on that edit thing are good.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: There's gonna be zero breaks, yeah, zero. Papa Team six.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: Keep showing up, keep overthinking every time conversation going through
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: your head, and keep submitting eventually submitting to what's best
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: for you and Wifey on Milk Team six and keep
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: submitting to what's best for you and the family. Take
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: your trash out. We love you, we appreciate you. BT six.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: We will see you next week.
