Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, Welcome to the Inside the Birds pregame show.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Mosher alongside Adam Kaplan from Inside the Birds,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and of course it's our pregame show. We need tape breakdown,
- 0:19Speaker 1: so we bring in the expert Greg Cosell to help
- 0:22Speaker 1: us break down the tape not only of the Eagles,
- 0:24Speaker 1: but of their opponent. And it is a familiar opponent,
- 0:27Speaker 1: they play.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Them twice a year.
- 0:29Speaker 1: The Eagles are up the turnpike in a place where
- 0:32Speaker 1: miracles have happened for them before, and I'm sure they're hoping, Adam,
- 0:35Speaker 1: that the Eagles don't need a miracle to beat the
- 0:38Speaker 1: one and four New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Giants
- 0:43Speaker 1: one and four Eagles four to one. Giants had a
- 0:46Speaker 1: flash in the pan two weeks ago, beating the Chargers
- 0:49Speaker 1: in Jackson Dart's first start, but then they go and
- 0:52Speaker 1: lose a double digit lead in New Orleans to the
- 0:55Speaker 1: Saints in week five. There so you can always say
- 0:59Speaker 1: they went back to being the Giants. Adam, I want
- 1:01Speaker 1: to start with you in just about the the style.
- 1:05Speaker 1: This is a superior roster for the Eagles. This is
- 1:08Speaker 1: a game they should win. They're clearly struggling with some things.
- 1:11Speaker 1: We always say style points matter, it's just about the
- 1:13Speaker 1: w But do you feel the Eagles need to get
- 1:15Speaker 1: some things back in this game and come out of
- 1:18Speaker 1: it feeling like they are the Eagles again?
- 1:20Speaker 3: You know, I typically don't think it matters, but I
- 1:23Speaker 3: do in this case because on your point, they don't
- 1:26Speaker 3: have Greg said on our last show about the identity
- 1:30Speaker 3: right of the offense right, they don't have an identity right.
- 1:32Speaker 4: So don't have a lot of confidence.
- 1:34Speaker 3: We know about the you know, the meeting that three
- 1:36Speaker 3: of the big time players for the Eagles had, they're
- 1:39Speaker 3: the struggle.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Would to Smith feel about that?
- 1:42Speaker 4: What's that?
- 1:43Speaker 1: You got the ball? He got the ball?
- 1:46Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess how would that Dallas Goddard feel about that?
- 1:49Speaker 2: You know who knows? Man?
- 1:51Speaker 3: But look, the bottom line is, Jeff as we get
- 1:54Speaker 3: into that very funny who knew Greg?
- 1:56Speaker 4: What's funny looking at it?
- 1:57Speaker 2: But you said who knew?
- 2:00Speaker 1: He was funny looking? And I said, I don't do that.
- 2:03Speaker 3: I don't want to say that that mustard hoodie. Dude,
- 2:06Speaker 3: can you have something that's a little a little like
- 2:07Speaker 3: less dull? Anyway?
- 2:09Speaker 4: We love we love Greg as far as you know,
- 2:10Speaker 4: which is all that matters.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But rails already.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I love it.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Yeah, get getting back to the question, which I think
- 2:16Speaker 3: is pertinent, Yes, this is a get well team. We'll
- 2:20Speaker 3: get into the defensive front, which is pretty good shame
- 2:22Speaker 3: Bowen scheme, which is interesting. Greg knows that one very
- 2:24Speaker 3: very well. But the bottom line is they're a bad
- 2:26Speaker 3: football team. They were up fourteen to three, rolling and
- 2:29Speaker 3: they blow and they for some reason they give like
- 2:31Speaker 3: twenty six straight points. So yeah, this is a get
- 2:33Speaker 3: well team on a short week. You just have a
- 2:36Speaker 3: couple of injuries. We'll get to the we'll get the
- 2:37Speaker 3: entry port later. But I would agree with your assessment.
- 2:40Speaker 4: I don't.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I think sometimes it's media speak, but absolutely in this case,
- 2:44Speaker 3: on a short week, feel good about yourself going to
- 2:46Speaker 3: that mini buy.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Hey hey, Greg, I want to bring this up to
- 2:49Speaker 1: you from a big picture standpoint, even though we're gonna
- 2:51Speaker 1: talk about a possishing group, because you made a great
- 2:54Speaker 1: point in your ask Greg Cosel show for our Patreon
- 2:57Speaker 1: members that you do every Tuesday night, and someone was
- 3:01Speaker 1: asking you how do they get the running game back going?
- 3:03Speaker 1: And you said, well, let's stop looking at saquon the
- 3:06Speaker 1: quarterback and everything, and look at the offensive line and
- 3:09Speaker 1: went through all of the issues and certainly there's gonna
- 3:11Speaker 1: be a big one who's out for the game Thursday
- 3:14Speaker 1: night against the Giants. And we keep saying can the
- 3:17Speaker 1: Eagles kind of get their groove back? And it's not
- 3:19Speaker 1: going to be a finger snap. I do wonder just
- 3:21Speaker 1: the overall state of the offensive line. People want to
- 3:25Speaker 1: fast track the Eagles getting back to what they are,
- 3:27Speaker 1: but don't they need to get better there first before anything?
- 3:30Speaker 2: I would say yes. Now again, you never know when
- 3:33Speaker 2: a guy can break one in a game. I mean,
- 3:35Speaker 2: that can happen even if your all alarm is not great,
- 3:38Speaker 2: you know, And look, who would have thought after five
- 3:42Speaker 2: games that Saquon Barkley's longest run was seventeen yards this season?
- 3:46Speaker 2: I don't think anybody would have thought that. But the
- 3:48Speaker 2: old line, and as I stated both Monday when we
- 3:52Speaker 2: did our evaluation of the Broncos game and probably Tuesday
- 3:55Speaker 2: with the Patreon group, is we've just taken for granted
- 3:58Speaker 2: because they've been so good for three or four years. Clearly,
- 4:02Speaker 2: you know, easy to argue they've been the best in
- 4:04Speaker 2: the NFL, and now they're not playing that way, and
- 4:09Speaker 2: one could almost argue they're playing mid level, you know,
- 4:11Speaker 2: maybe even below mid level. You know, through the first
- 4:15Speaker 2: five games. Now, can we snap our fingers and say
- 4:18Speaker 2: they'll play great this week? You know, the NFL is
- 4:21Speaker 2: very odd. I mean, you know, I'm not a good
- 4:24Speaker 2: predictor and prognosticator, so I'm not going to sit here
- 4:27Speaker 2: and say what's going to happen with certainty in the
- 4:30Speaker 2: game Thursday night. I'm not going to say that. Could
- 4:33Speaker 2: it be that they have a really good game? I know,
- 4:35Speaker 2: I assume you said one big guy is going to
- 4:37Speaker 2: be out. I assume Alna Dickerson is out. Correct, Yes,
- 4:40Speaker 2: I was going to be Toss playing left guard.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It will unless there's a last minute kind of configuration.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yes, right, So I mean obviously they're missing, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 2: an important player who, by the way, probably due to
- 4:52Speaker 2: the fact that he's been struggling with injuries all season,
- 4:56Speaker 2: he's not played at the same level he has the
- 4:58Speaker 2: last couple of years. Cam Jur has not played at
- 5:01Speaker 2: that same level that he did last year when he
- 5:03Speaker 2: was a really really good player. Even my a Lota,
- 5:06Speaker 2: I don't think in the run game has been what
- 5:08Speaker 2: we normally expect because he he has been a dominant,
- 5:11Speaker 2: dominant run to run blocker. So it's just not been
- 5:15Speaker 2: as strong an all line. And when guys who you
- 5:17Speaker 2: expect to play at a high level don't play at
- 5:19Speaker 2: that level, you know, you don't really have a lot
- 5:22Speaker 2: of options. You don't have anywhere to go. You're not
- 5:24Speaker 2: benching Kim Jurgens, you're not benching Jordan my Alatta. You're
- 5:27Speaker 2: coaching them each and every week. I'm sure there's detailed
- 5:31Speaker 2: technique work that's beyond you know, what we know. You know,
- 5:34Speaker 2: but that that that Statlan and and the the offensive
- 5:37Speaker 2: staff works with, you know, the little things that separate good,
- 5:41Speaker 2: good plays from bad plays, and that's what they work on.
- 5:44Speaker 2: But it just hasn't been the same. But the bottom
- 5:47Speaker 2: line is, and we've discussed this many times, they're a
- 5:50Speaker 2: running football team at their at their foundation, and if
- 5:53Speaker 2: they can't run the ball, their offense will be in
- 5:56Speaker 2: fits and starts.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Well, I'll ask you the same thing I just asked
- 5:59Speaker 1: Adam to your feel And I know you don't get
- 6:02Speaker 1: into style points or even win loss, but the Eagles
- 6:05Speaker 1: come out of here with like a seventeen nine win
- 6:08Speaker 1: that that doesn't seem like that you got your groove back.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I want to This is going to sound cliched, but
- 6:13Speaker 2: I think you'll understand it and all people listening will
- 6:16Speaker 2: understand it that you want to see the Eagles play
- 6:19Speaker 2: Eagles football. That's what you want to see. If that
- 6:21Speaker 2: doesn't result in thirty five points, so be it. But
- 6:24Speaker 2: you want to see them play what they have to
- 6:26Speaker 2: be to be a good offense. And for instance, could
- 6:31Speaker 2: they in this game and will get more into specific
- 6:33Speaker 2: you know players, but could aj Brown win on the
- 6:36Speaker 2: outside against Cordel Flott or Paulson Adebo? He absolutely could.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Could Jalen hit him for two fifty yard touchdowns? That
- 6:43Speaker 2: could happen. Does that mean they're back? No, to me,
- 6:47Speaker 2: that doesn't mean they're back because you can't live on
- 6:49Speaker 2: that every single week, you know. So they could win
- 6:53Speaker 2: this game, you know, with those kinds of plays because
- 6:56Speaker 2: of the nature of the opponent. But that doesn't automatically
- 6:59Speaker 2: mean wow, this team is now back on track.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Absolutely all right. So we've got a lot of talk
- 7:05Speaker 1: about with this Eagles offense. We'll get into their offense
- 7:07Speaker 1: against this Giants defense. We'll get into the Eagles defense
- 7:10Speaker 1: against a new look Giants offense, and then we'll give
- 7:14Speaker 1: our predictions and game MVP at the end. Before we
- 7:17Speaker 1: do that, let us pause and hear a word from
- 7:19Speaker 1: our great sponsors. Hey, you know that one guy in
- 7:22Speaker 1: the group chat who hit a five leg parlay week
- 7:25Speaker 1: one and he wouldn't shut up about it for the
- 7:27Speaker 1: rest of the season.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Sounds like kaplan, right, Yeah, yeah, it.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Could be him.
- 7:31Speaker 5: It could be you, and we would all want to
- 7:35Speaker 5: be you.

- 9:29Speaker 1: That's code birds for a risk free for stakes. I'd
- 9:33Speaker 1: like to continue on the theme of offense here because
- 9:36Speaker 1: we've just acknowledged that the finger snap doesn't make things
- 9:40Speaker 1: happen the offensive line. It always starts with the offensive line.
- 9:45Speaker 1: We know that left guard could be an issue tonight
- 9:48Speaker 1: with Brett Toath. All right, we know centers is cam
- 9:51Speaker 1: Jurggens came out and said to Jeff McLain, and maybe
- 9:54Speaker 1: there were other reporters involved, but he McLain tweeted that
- 9:57Speaker 1: he's not one hundred percent coming back from his surgery.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Not that he's injured, but that is just not back
- 10:03Speaker 1: to what he was.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Mobility is not his mobility is not the same as
- 10:07Speaker 2: it was.
- 10:08Speaker 4: You can see that Greg Off tape.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yes, I remember we picked by the way. That could
- 10:13Speaker 2: also be one reason. I'm just now I'm just speculating,
- 10:16Speaker 2: so I don't want people to think this is an
- 10:17Speaker 2: absolute fact. That could be one reason why we haven't
- 10:21Speaker 2: seen many outside runs. I don't know if there's an
- 10:24Speaker 2: exact correlation. It could be, you know, because I know
- 10:26Speaker 2: a lot of people think, why aren't they running outside,
- 10:28Speaker 2: you know, and and we haven't seen much of that, right,
- 10:32Speaker 2: and who knows. I'm just it's very positive because when
- 10:35Speaker 2: you look, I've had back issues in my life fortunately
- 10:38Speaker 2: now recently. I don't know if you guys have had them,
- 10:39Speaker 2: but that's it's they're pretty debilitating.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it is yes, especially, hey, Jeff, real quick, one
- 10:46Speaker 3: thing that could be a positive. Marion Hampton did very
- 10:49Speaker 3: well against them, Okay, Gervonte Williams look good against him,
- 10:53Speaker 3: So at least you have Okay, you know, you have
- 10:55Speaker 3: to obviously study the runs that they had, but at
- 10:58Speaker 3: least some backs, Jeff, as I sent it back to you,
- 11:00Speaker 3: if they're well against the Giants front the season.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yes, I wanted to go one thing more with the
- 11:06Speaker 1: offensive line though, because Jason Levant made this observation with
- 11:10Speaker 1: me and Andrew Ducheco on our show on WBCB on
- 11:13Speaker 1: Tuesday nights. He's and I wanted to ask if Greig
- 11:17Speaker 1: stood out to him at all. He felt that Tyler
- 11:19Speaker 1: Steen is a little bit more obvious the way he
- 11:23Speaker 1: stands up and looks back and then has a very
- 11:27Speaker 1: glaring tap to the center on the silent count that
- 11:31Speaker 1: gives it away more so than when Makai Beckton was doing.
- 11:35Speaker 1: He feels he comes out of his stands very early
- 11:37Speaker 1: in his upright and you see it, and it's giving
- 11:40Speaker 1: a tell to the defense as to when he's about
- 11:42Speaker 1: to hit the Uh. That's something that.
- 11:45Speaker 2: You've you've well, the one thing I have noticed and
- 11:47Speaker 2: I don't know. To me, the larger tell is the
- 11:50Speaker 2: fact that they're not changing that up. In other words,
- 11:53Speaker 2: every time he hits them, they snapped the ball, right,
- 11:56Speaker 2: you know, I've seen a lot of teams, you know,
- 11:58Speaker 2: obviously on the road, you know, although the Eagles did
- 12:00Speaker 2: some of it at home as well, but on their
- 12:03Speaker 2: and they're playing on the road this week, so you know,
- 12:06Speaker 2: where teams change that up. In other words, they stand up.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Maybe the first time he hits them, they don't snap
- 12:10Speaker 2: the ball. You know that that always to me needs
- 12:13Speaker 2: to be changed up. So you know, we'll see if
- 12:17Speaker 2: that's something that they do that's self scouting that you
- 12:19Speaker 2: want to take a look at. And you know that's
- 12:22Speaker 2: you ideally. You know, that's why there's many coaches on
- 12:24Speaker 2: a staff too, because you know that's that's the little
- 12:27Speaker 2: minutia that that you know, assistant so to speak, or
- 12:31Speaker 2: quality control guys or you know, those kinds of coaches
- 12:33Speaker 2: that they look for.
- 12:35Speaker 1: What have you seen from Jordan Malatta so far?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I don't think in the run game
- 12:41Speaker 2: he's been quite as good this year. And you know,
- 12:43Speaker 2: look the run game overall, you know, and we've discussed
- 12:47Speaker 2: this so we're not going to repeat all the same
- 12:49Speaker 2: stuff we've said, but the run game has clearly not
- 12:51Speaker 2: been there, and it's a combination of o line. At times,
- 12:55Speaker 2: it's on Saquan, who you know, when he doesn't feel
- 12:57Speaker 2: like it's clean, will start to look for you know,
- 13:00Speaker 2: and search and you know, the way I've always described it,
- 13:04Speaker 2: I did it a few years ago and someone said, hey,
- 13:06Speaker 2: that's a great way to describe it. It just struck
- 13:07Speaker 2: me watching the college player, and I actually put it
- 13:09Speaker 2: in my notes. You know, he's becoming a little more
- 13:12Speaker 2: kind of improvisational jazz musician than classical pianist, you know,
- 13:16Speaker 2: and just playing the notes the way you're supposed to play.
- 13:18Speaker 2: And I think that you know when when you're struggling
- 13:22Speaker 2: with the old line. To me, and this is what
- 13:24Speaker 2: I learned from the likes of the Merrill Hodges and
- 13:26Speaker 2: others through the years, is you've just got to get
- 13:28Speaker 2: the yards you know you got if it's blocked for
- 13:32Speaker 2: you know, look, Barkley's a great back. If it's blocked
- 13:34Speaker 2: for two, he can get four and second and six
- 13:38Speaker 2: is not bad. But what you don't want to do
- 13:40Speaker 2: is just try to balance or do other things and
- 13:42Speaker 2: all of a sudden, it's second and ten. That's what
- 13:44Speaker 2: you don't want to do. So you know, you you
- 13:46Speaker 2: know every yard matters, and you know that's you got
- 13:49Speaker 2: to just get back to hitting it up in there
- 13:51Speaker 2: and getting what's there, getting the hard earned yards. That's
- 13:56Speaker 2: one thing that I thought. You know, everybody remembers last
- 13:58Speaker 2: year the big explosive runs because there were so many
- 14:00Speaker 2: of them. But I thought what Barkley did exceptionally well
- 14:04Speaker 2: last year, which by the way, I didn't think he
- 14:05Speaker 2: did super well with the Giants or in his college tape,
- 14:09Speaker 2: was get hard earned yards. And I thought last year
- 14:11Speaker 2: he got hard earned yards at a really high level.
- 14:16Speaker 1: So when you look at this Giants defensive line, greg
- 14:19Speaker 1: it's got a lot of talent.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It does.
- 14:21Speaker 1: It's got Brian Burns, got Dexter, Lawrence abdul Carter. First
- 14:24Speaker 1: of all, how has abdul Carter's tape looked so far
- 14:26Speaker 1: through four or five weeks up and down?
- 14:29Speaker 2: I mean, you can clearly see the athletic traits, but
- 14:32Speaker 2: you know, he hasn't been a dominant player, you know,
- 14:36Speaker 2: in that sense. But they have a nice de tackle
- 14:39Speaker 2: rotation with a bunch of guys who've been in the league.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I mean, Dexter Lawrence is obviously, you know, at the
- 14:43Speaker 2: top of the marquee and he's great. But they've got
- 14:46Speaker 2: I guess you have to have two names to play
- 14:48Speaker 2: on the Giants defensive front. They have Robertson Harris and Roachez,
- 14:57Speaker 2: really solid guys who've been in the league. I mean,
- 15:00Speaker 2: just it's a solid rotational group. Davidson is a nice player.
- 15:03Speaker 2: They got a bunch of guys. You know, Lawrence is
- 15:05Speaker 2: really really good obviously, and I got to tell you,
- 15:08Speaker 2: I think I think their linebackers are really solid. Okerock,
- 15:11Speaker 2: he's just a good player. And the guy who and
- 15:14Speaker 2: I did him coming out of UCLA and I knew
- 15:16Speaker 2: you wouldn't be a high pick. But because McFadden is injured,
- 15:18Speaker 2: they're playing Moasaw. He's a nice player. I mean, you know,
- 15:23Speaker 2: is he a superstar, No, but he's physical, he attacks downhill,
- 15:27Speaker 2: he you know, he stacks in sheds. He's he's a
- 15:29Speaker 2: pretty good football player. He's he's obviously not a name.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I'm sure a lot of people know, but I remember,
- 15:34Speaker 2: you know, doing his tape coming out of UCLA, and
- 15:36Speaker 2: you know, this is what he was.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Greg Dexter. Lawrence is a guy. Everyone knows who he is.
- 15:41Speaker 4: But what makes him so great? From your tape study?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Oh, I mean you got her first. I gotta remember
- 15:45Speaker 2: he's three hundred and forty pounds, you know, and so
- 15:49Speaker 2: he's incredibly powerful. But he's so lightfooted and lightfooted in
- 15:55Speaker 2: like in almost like a ballet like way in a
- 15:58Speaker 2: small space, you know what I mean, Not like light
- 16:00Speaker 2: foot in the fact we see Jordan Davis fron Son Eagles,
- 16:02Speaker 2: you know, run fast like there seems to be a
- 16:04Speaker 2: play a couple of times a year where he just
- 16:07Speaker 2: runs down someone. People remember Josh Allen, he did it
- 16:10Speaker 2: a couple of weeks ago. I forget who he ran
- 16:12Speaker 2: down to the on the sideline. Stafford. He ran down
- 16:15Speaker 2: Stafford to the sideline. I'm not talking about straight line speed.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I'm talking about really light footed quickness in a small
- 16:23Speaker 2: space for a man that big. It's it's pretty remarkable.
- 16:27Speaker 1: All right. So then two questions I would have based
- 16:30Speaker 1: on this matchup specifically right One is with these three
- 16:35Speaker 1: pass rushers or more edge rushers and Thibodeaux and Carter
- 16:38Speaker 1: and Burns and then an interior rusher like Lawrence, what
- 16:42Speaker 1: is their predominant four man rush.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Well, how's what I'm going to tell you, which people
- 16:46Speaker 2: might not be aware of, And Jeff maybe you know,
- 16:49Speaker 2: is that when they go to their dime front, okay,
- 16:54Speaker 2: and they play a lot of dime, Okay, they play
- 16:56Speaker 2: an incredibly high percentage of dime, almost twenty eight percent
- 17:00Speaker 2: scent of their of their defensive snaps have been dying.
- 17:03Speaker 2: And because they bring in Belton, the Iowa kid, who's
- 17:05Speaker 2: a good player too, so in their dime front, their
- 17:09Speaker 2: dime front has Burns, Carter, Thibodeaux and the rookie Alexander
- 17:15Speaker 2: from Toledo who really looks good. So Lawrence does not
- 17:19Speaker 2: play in their dime front. And what they normally do
- 17:23Speaker 2: is Burns tends to stay on the outside and Carter
- 17:26Speaker 2: and Thibodeaux will line up switch off and line up inside.
- 17:31Speaker 2: And sometimes they'll put Burns as kind of a stand
- 17:33Speaker 2: up joker. But just so people understand, you know, Alexander,
- 17:37Speaker 2: you know, he plays a lot of snaps and he
- 17:39Speaker 2: plays in their dime front, and he's been very very good.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 17:43Speaker 1: So that's interesting because Dexter Lawrence is considered one of
- 17:45Speaker 1: the better interior pass rushers in the league. So you're
- 17:48Speaker 1: basically saying, in most of their fore man Ruski is
- 17:51Speaker 1: not on the field, well, on their dime, Well that's
- 17:53Speaker 1: what that's what they go to when they're they're trying to.
- 17:56Speaker 2: They play, like I said, twenty eight percent of their snaps.
- 17:58Speaker 2: So if it's thirn, they're going to be in dime.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Okay, all right?
- 18:03Speaker 1: And Thibodeau, you said lines up where even though a.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Line up more mostly inside, whereas Carter and Burns will
- 18:09Speaker 2: be on the edge.
- 18:10Speaker 4: From a coverage standpoint, greg what what because typically from
- 18:15Speaker 4: a right a call they were there'd be a lot
- 18:18Speaker 4: of zone. But if I saw the numbers right, it
- 18:20Speaker 4: seemed like they're playing a little bit more man this season.
- 18:22Speaker 2: But they predominantly play zone at well they play again,
- 18:27Speaker 2: they play a lot of dime. They what they play
- 18:29Speaker 2: at a dime is they tend to play a lot
- 18:31Speaker 2: of two man coverage. Now, whether they do that this
- 18:34Speaker 2: week again, now you're specific to the quarterback you're playing against,
- 18:37Speaker 2: because if you're going to play two man coverage and dime,
- 18:40Speaker 2: you've got to wait, have to find a way to
- 18:42Speaker 2: account for the quarterback. And you know, so maybe this
- 18:45Speaker 2: is not the week where we'll see a lot of
- 18:47Speaker 2: two man coverage, which is the number one coverage out
- 18:50Speaker 2: of dime. Right.
- 18:52Speaker 1: So the Giants have talent in their front in their
- 18:56Speaker 1: past rush that linebacker. But you go look in where
- 18:59Speaker 1: they ranked defensively, I mean bottom five total defense, bottom
- 19:04Speaker 1: five passing, bottom like six or seven rushing. Where is
- 19:08Speaker 1: the disconnect? Are they on the field too much? Are
- 19:11Speaker 1: they not good at doing certain things against them that
- 19:14Speaker 1: the Eagles can capitalize.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a great question. They've played too many snaps
- 19:18Speaker 2: on defense because their offense has been a problem obviously.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I mean they played the fifth most snaps of any
- 19:23Speaker 2: defense in the league. It's too many snaps, so that
- 19:26Speaker 2: that's the issue, one of the issues. It's just too
- 19:29Speaker 2: hard to play when you play that many snaps, you know,
- 19:32Speaker 2: But it's it, you know. I think I'm just looking
- 19:36Speaker 2: at the talent. Okay, I'm not looking at you know,
- 19:38Speaker 2: what the specific numbers are with each category. I think
- 19:42Speaker 2: most teams going against the Giants would probably feel that
- 19:45Speaker 2: they could attack on the edges on the outside. In
- 19:47Speaker 2: the past game, basically what they do is in base
- 19:51Speaker 2: and nickel. Well, Debo plays every snap and he plays
- 19:55Speaker 2: left corner and in base and Nickel Flot plays right corner.
- 19:59Speaker 2: And what they were doing but it's very haphazard is
- 20:03Speaker 2: they were bringing Banks in to play on a right
- 20:05Speaker 2: corner opposite a debo in dime. But they do that
- 20:08Speaker 2: kind of I don't know the rhyme or reason for it,
- 20:11Speaker 2: you know only you know Saint Bowen would have to
- 20:13Speaker 2: tell us that. But you know, Banks is a very
- 20:16Speaker 2: gifted player who obviously, for whatever reason, hasn't become a
- 20:20Speaker 2: pro yet because he's more gifted than Flat, who's not
- 20:23Speaker 2: a bad player, by the way, but not you know,
- 20:25Speaker 2: he's a beatable player, but he's not a bad player.
- 20:28Speaker 2: But just Banks does not you know, he only played
- 20:30Speaker 2: eight snaps last week. You know.
- 20:33Speaker 3: You know it's interesting, Greg, he was a guy that
- 20:35Speaker 3: most not all that Jeff and I talked to before
- 20:37Speaker 3: the draft when he came out. I really thought this
- 20:40Speaker 3: kid was a ball, a big time talent. And it
- 20:43Speaker 3: tells you that he's not getting it because.
- 20:46Speaker 2: So gem much of the game is mental, no matter
- 20:48Speaker 2: what position.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Yeah, Cordell Fly.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I remember watching him, and you know, obviously when you
- 20:55Speaker 2: watch corners in the Big Ten, you'd always want to
- 20:57Speaker 2: see if they played against Marvin Harrison. He played really,
- 21:01Speaker 2: really well against Marvin Harrison. I mean he played him
- 21:04Speaker 2: in press man. It was it was a good matchup.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I mean, obviously he's not winning every snap. It was
- 21:07Speaker 2: Marvin Harrison, but you know, he was a first round
- 21:11Speaker 2: pick and that was on merit in terms of tape.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I don't obviously don't know Dante Banks, but you know,
- 21:17Speaker 2: we all know that he's you know, obviously has not
- 21:20Speaker 2: lived up to being a professional and therefore he's hasn't
- 21:23Speaker 2: played a lot.
- 21:24Speaker 4: So in flop plays, he's number twenty eight.
- 21:26Speaker 3: He is thin like he's not he's not two hundred
- 21:29Speaker 3: pounds like that's a he's a fine backup, but he's
- 21:32Speaker 3: technically a starter at well, so.
- 21:35Speaker 2: He might be better than that. But he's a but
- 21:37Speaker 2: he's a guy you can attack. Yes, that's the point, right,
- 21:40Speaker 2: that's my point. You know, he's you know, he also
- 21:43Speaker 2: has played in his career a lot of slot, but
- 21:45Speaker 2: he's not playing that now because they've got Phillips. It's
- 21:47Speaker 2: a pure slot. So you know that's the way it goes.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So so let's bring this then back to an Eagles
- 21:54Speaker 1: discussion on how they are going to attack a defense,
- 21:56Speaker 1: specifically the giants, but also through the lens of what
- 22:00Speaker 1: they've been trying to do. The data so far says
- 22:03Speaker 1: that blitzing Jillen Hurts is not a good idea. The
- 22:07Speaker 1: data says that he's got the highest passer rating, the
- 22:09Speaker 1: highest completion percentage of the highest EPA, all that stuff,
- 22:12Speaker 1: top two, top three, top four, and yet Greg and
- 22:16Speaker 1: something you said to us inside the tape sort of
- 22:19Speaker 1: resonated with me even more and it was just a
- 22:21Speaker 1: passing comment. The Bucks came out and blitzed him ridiculously
- 22:25Speaker 1: in the first half. The Broncos did the same thing,
- 22:28Speaker 1: and then both of them, you could say, adjusted in
- 22:32Speaker 1: the second half, or what you said was maybe that
- 22:36Speaker 1: was the plan all along.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Could have been. That's the stuff we don't know.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Well.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I think it's a fascinating sort of case study because
- 22:43Speaker 1: all the data says you should never blitz Jill have
- 22:46Speaker 1: so many man beaters and he's doing so well and
- 22:48Speaker 1: completing the butt. If you were doing it for the
- 22:50Speaker 1: purpose of having him see an entire picture for a
- 22:53Speaker 1: little while and then completely change it to confuse him
- 22:57Speaker 1: in the second half, that's a pretty interesting strategy because
- 23:00Speaker 1: you have to take the hits at first and have
- 23:03Speaker 1: confidence this way.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Let's think of it this way. First of all, he's
- 23:07Speaker 2: been if you go by dropbacks, he's faced more or
- 23:11Speaker 2: five or six man rushes. He's the fourth most of
- 23:13Speaker 2: any quarterback in the league. By the way, Patrick mahomes
- 23:17Speaker 2: a second. So so think of it this way. Normally,
- 23:21Speaker 2: when you blitz, you know, based on tape study and
- 23:24Speaker 2: just understanding, you know there's a place to immediately go
- 23:29Speaker 2: with the ball normally, and we saw that against the Bucks.
- 23:32Speaker 2: You're not reading, You're not dropping back and trying to
- 23:36Speaker 2: decipher a defense. You're not reading. Okay, so he can
- 23:40Speaker 2: be very effective doing that. Where he struggles more is
- 23:45Speaker 2: when there's some kind of sim pressure that works off
- 23:49Speaker 2: a six or seven man front where you have to
- 23:52Speaker 2: account for bodies and then they drop people out and
- 23:56Speaker 2: then as you and often because of that, you have
- 23:59Speaker 2: to keep it tight end or a back in because
- 24:01Speaker 2: you've got to account for people due to the front.
- 24:04Speaker 2: And now all of a sudden, you might have seven
- 24:07Speaker 2: zone defenders against three primary receivers, and now you've got
- 24:11Speaker 2: to start working through a progression where the defense has
- 24:15Speaker 2: the numbers advantage.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Greg You've talked about when the picture changes the picture.
- 24:19Speaker 2: The picture not his strength, right, that's hard, right, that's
- 24:23Speaker 2: not his strength.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And that seems to be what the last two opponents
- 24:26Speaker 1: and even the Rams I felt, tried to replicate.
- 24:29Speaker 2: And I'm not going to sit here and say everybody's
- 24:31Speaker 2: going to do that and he's not going to make
- 24:32Speaker 2: any plays. I don't do that. You know, they know.
- 24:34Speaker 2: The Eagles know this too, by the way. So this
- 24:37Speaker 2: is things they're they're going to work on, you know,
- 24:39Speaker 2: and they're going to try to beat it and and
- 24:41Speaker 2: be aware of it. But you know, it's it's not
- 24:44Speaker 2: an easy thing, by the way. I see that more
- 24:47Speaker 2: and more in the league this year, with teams lining
- 24:49Speaker 2: up with six seven man fronts and dropping people out,
- 24:52Speaker 2: and you know, fans always think, well, what's the problem
- 24:56Speaker 2: with the protection, and now three guards aren't blocking anything exactly.
- 24:59Speaker 2: That's whole point. That's why defenses do this because if
- 25:03Speaker 2: you put six guys on the ball, you have five
- 25:06Speaker 2: offensive linemen, so that means the back becomes responsible for
- 25:10Speaker 2: the sixth guy. Now, if you put seven guys on
- 25:13Speaker 2: the ball, and by the way, that's what happened on
- 25:15Speaker 2: the Patrick Mahomes interception in the Monday night game. You know,
- 25:19Speaker 2: I'm sure everybody saw that play with that Lloyd took
- 25:21Speaker 2: back for one hundred yards. Yeah. Now, if you have
- 25:25Speaker 2: seven on the line of scrimmage, you've got five offensive
- 25:29Speaker 2: linemen in the back. Let's leave a tight end out
- 25:31Speaker 2: for the moment. Let's say he's split. Now the quarterback
- 25:34Speaker 2: has to be responsible for the seventh guy. So most
- 25:39Speaker 2: teams are not rushing seven. Okay, but you don't know
- 25:42Speaker 2: which that guy who the quarterbacks responsible for might be
- 25:45Speaker 2: one of the four, right. I mean the perfect example
- 25:48Speaker 2: of that was the McMillan sack this week against Jayley.
- 25:52Speaker 2: That was the perfect example where they put I think
- 25:55Speaker 2: seven guys on the line of scrimmage and they ended
- 25:57Speaker 2: up rushing four. Both defenders came Whufanga from the backside
- 26:03Speaker 2: and McMillan from the front side. But part of that
- 26:05Speaker 2: seven was the double mug look, and ninety nine point
- 26:09Speaker 2: nine percent in the double mug look, the back is
- 26:11Speaker 2: responsible for one of those guys. So Barkley initially stepped up.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Both those double muggers dropped out. Barkley, to his credit,
- 26:19Speaker 2: immediately looked to Hufanga coming from his left, but there
- 26:23Speaker 2: was no one to block McMillan. He was, you know,
- 26:25Speaker 2: you can't change the protection. I say this all the
- 26:27Speaker 2: time in the middle of the play, so you know
- 26:30Speaker 2: it's he's unblocked. That one was you know, that's hard,
- 26:33Speaker 2: that's right to do. See.
- 26:35Speaker 1: But I also think some of the effectiveness of that
- 26:38Speaker 1: strategy is the fact that they were blitzing earlier.
- 26:42Speaker 2: In the game.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Like you have to make the offense believe that you
- 26:45Speaker 1: actually might send those seven guys, and now I don't
- 26:48Speaker 1: know if you're sending seven or dropping you know, seven.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I don't know that the Giants are good enough as
- 26:56Speaker 1: a team or as a defense to blitzen.
- 26:58Speaker 4: They're not a heavy blitz They're a big sim pressure
- 27:00Speaker 4: team right.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Right, prepared for if you don't believe a blitz is coming.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Amazing John Bowen, who did a ton of sim pressures
- 27:09Speaker 2: in Tennessee that was sort of foundational. Yeah, got anywhere
- 27:12Speaker 2: near that amount with the Giants this year. Maybe he
- 27:15Speaker 2: just feels that, you know, those guys. Look, sometimes you
- 27:18Speaker 2: got to feel like a guy can be a good rusher.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I mean, you know, you don't just you don't use
- 27:23Speaker 2: a guy if you don't believe he has the trades
- 27:24Speaker 2: to do what you'd like to do. You know, Uh,
- 27:27Speaker 2: I can tell you for a fact that muats Saw,
- 27:30Speaker 2: who I really like, is not that guy. And I
- 27:32Speaker 2: think Oka Recky can do it. But I think Okarecki
- 27:35Speaker 2: is a terrific UH zone coverage defender, and that maybe
- 27:39Speaker 2: one reason they play a lot of his own. He's
- 27:41Speaker 2: a terrific zone coverage greg.
- 27:43Speaker 3: One question though, on the edge with Burns, Thibodeau and Carter,
- 27:47Speaker 3: how they work in that rotation.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Well, if it's if it's nickel, then what you normally
- 27:52Speaker 2: have is two of the three play and one guy's
- 27:54Speaker 2: out in dying and they all three played, you know
- 27:57Speaker 2: in what they probably you know, call the NASCAR cheater
- 27:59Speaker 2: or you know a team have names for that stuff. Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 2: but in dying and in base there are five two base,
- 28:05Speaker 2: so you know, then you're going to have Carter and
- 28:08Speaker 2: Thibodeau maybe on the edge, Carter, Burns on the edge,
- 28:10Speaker 2: Burns Tiberda, you know, I mean it's you know, the
- 28:13Speaker 2: only time they all three play at once is in
- 28:15Speaker 2: Dyne got right.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I think what the Giants will have to have, and
- 28:19Speaker 1: I question if they do, is the same kind of
- 28:21Speaker 1: discipline that the Bucks and the Broncos really had to
- 28:25Speaker 1: be able to rush the passer to the degree where
- 28:29Speaker 1: you're not going full throttle, you're keeping them in the pocket.
- 28:33Speaker 1: You're doing everything you can to the mush rush that
- 28:35Speaker 1: we talked about, because the Broncos had a great plan
- 28:38Speaker 1: for that, and they had great athletes up front where
- 28:40Speaker 1: they could not rush full throttle but still keep him
- 28:43Speaker 1: in closed and if he did try to break contain,
- 28:45Speaker 1: they could pursue you. So Jonathan Cooper, how fast he
- 28:47Speaker 1: was he caught Barkley from behind on a run. And
- 28:50Speaker 1: I don't know that the Giants have that same.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Yeah, And sometimes you know it, just saying that let's
- 28:57Speaker 2: spy isn't always the answer you have to you know,
- 28:59Speaker 2: because look, I happen to watch the tape of the
- 29:02Speaker 2: Titans defense against Kyler Murray, who I understand now might
- 29:06Speaker 2: not play this week, but but they spied him with
- 29:09Speaker 2: Femi Ladaja, who's a very good athlete, and you know what,
- 29:12Speaker 2: Murray ran around him and he scored on a twelve
- 29:14Speaker 2: or thirteen yard touchdown run. So just saying okay, let's
- 29:17Speaker 2: spy doesn't automatically mean that that gets the job done, right.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Would you guys both agree that the Jalen Hurts run,
- 29:24Speaker 1: whether it's designed or scramble, has really been missing from
- 29:27Speaker 1: this offense, Like an important part of his offense has
- 29:29Speaker 1: not been there for a couple of weeks.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and which, you know the other thing that makes
- 29:33Speaker 2: you think, again, we don't know the answer to this.
- 29:35Speaker 2: You know, Hurts he's not old, but he's you know,
- 29:38Speaker 2: he's run a lot in his career, He's been tackled
- 29:40Speaker 2: a lot. You know, maybe at some point you feel like, okay,
- 29:43Speaker 2: you know, maybe we just have to cut back on that.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I don't know if that's true or not, but you know,
- 29:48Speaker 2: he's he's he's he's not an explosive athlete in terms
- 29:53Speaker 2: of twitchiness, Like he's not like Lamar or Jaydon Daniels.
- 29:57Speaker 2: He's not twitchy like that. He's straight line fast and
- 30:00Speaker 2: he's powerful, but he's not shift.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Out runner, right Yeah, powerful?
- 30:05Speaker 1: All right, So that is a look of the Giants defense.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Well, I think the bottom line point before you move on,
- 30:11Speaker 2: is this could be a game. Look, you know how
- 30:14Speaker 2: I feel. I believe they have to get back to
- 30:15Speaker 2: who they need to be running, but this easily could
- 30:18Speaker 2: be a game where they could win on the outside
- 30:19Speaker 2: and make some big plays. This game could be like that.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I think that that they don't have to be mutually exclusive.
- 30:26Speaker 1: You would like to get that one game going and
- 30:28Speaker 1: set up some of those great down shots.
- 30:31Speaker 3: By the way, you always like Paulson the Diebo's who's
- 30:33Speaker 3: one of their starting corners, right.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Salid another one of those just really a solid fl corner,
- 30:37Speaker 2: you know. Yeah? Cool?
- 30:38Speaker 4: All right, good stuff.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Let us turn it around. We'll talk about this Eagles
- 30:42Speaker 1: defense against this giant offense and gamme will pause real
- 30:45Speaker 1: quick for a word from our great sponsors. Hey, fall
- 30:47Speaker 1: is planting season. Did you know that many plants and
- 30:50Speaker 1: trees actually do better when planted this time of the year.
- 30:53Speaker 1: But you got to know where to start. And that's
- 30:55Speaker 1: why I love fast growing Trees dot Com. Doesn't matter
- 30:59Speaker 1: if you live in the sunny South or if the

- 31:06Speaker 1: your space. They've got everything in your yard needs. Fruit trees,

- 33:13Speaker 1: All right, Eagles defense. Now we saw Killey Ringo get
- 33:17Speaker 1: the start. You know what, I neglected to go through
- 33:20Speaker 1: injuries by the way, at the start of this game.
- 33:22Speaker 1: So let me just quickly get on that. Nikobe Dean
- 33:25Speaker 1: was listed as questionable on the injury report, so we'll
- 33:28Speaker 1: see if he is. You know what the plan is
- 33:31Speaker 1: for him, Just.
- 33:32Speaker 3: So you know, a couple of things on him. He
- 33:33Speaker 3: did way more work this week than he did last week.
- 33:35Speaker 3: That means he's close.
- 33:37Speaker 1: But what would be in a week of nothing but
- 33:39Speaker 1: walkthrough is what would that mean?
- 33:41Speaker 2: Just basically what?
- 33:43Speaker 3: But he took more snaps. I know it's not starnius
- 33:46Speaker 3: that it can't practice leading up to a Thursday night game. Yeah,
- 33:49Speaker 3: but he took more snaps just in practice snaps. Now,
- 33:53Speaker 3: the thing is with him is if he's activated, by
- 33:55Speaker 3: the way, they have till four pm Easter in the
- 33:57Speaker 3: day of the game. This is the odd rules that
- 33:59Speaker 3: the NFL has. Like on a Sunday game, you have
- 34:01Speaker 3: to you have until four pm on Saturday. On a
- 34:04Speaker 3: Thursday night game, you have to four pm Eastern to
- 34:06Speaker 3: activate the guy if you want, if you if you
- 34:09Speaker 3: want him for the game.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Will be his role when he becomes active.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and Vick was, look, he's he's gonna they're gonna
- 34:14Speaker 3: ease him in whatever that's gonna look like. And you know,
- 34:17Speaker 3: we we've we've talked about what it could possibly be.
- 34:20Speaker 3: They don't play a lot of bass, but he could
- 34:22Speaker 3: help him against the run. Give Campbell a little bit
- 34:23Speaker 3: of breather. But again, as We've said since August. If
- 34:27Speaker 3: Campbell's playing well, he's not coming off the field. I
- 34:29Speaker 3: don't care how great or how much the fans Jeff,
- 34:32Speaker 3: as you know from her our message or YouTube board,
- 34:35Speaker 3: and we appreciate the comments, but they want Dean to
- 34:38Speaker 3: start over Campbell the worst way, and they know how
- 34:39Speaker 3: well Campbell's playing, but they think Dean is like, well, Dean.
- 34:43Speaker 4: Was great before he got hurt. He suffered a devastating injury,
- 34:46Speaker 4: one of the worst the injuries you could have, a
- 34:48Speaker 4: torn butteler tendon. So let's a lot to see.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Right, And then just from an offensive standpoint, since we
- 34:54Speaker 1: already did the Eagles offense, Grant Calgatara is out for
- 34:57Speaker 1: the game, so potentially a little bit more lawt in there.
- 35:01Speaker 1: We'll see how they are Kylon Granson, and we'll see
- 35:03Speaker 1: if maybe that impacts either positively or negatively, the ability
- 35:08Speaker 1: for the Eagles to run the ball.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Big one though, is Jalen Carter being at it after
- 35:12Speaker 3: the walk through on Wednesday with the heel injury. So
- 35:14Speaker 3: that's not good, right, This is to have nothing to
- 35:16Speaker 3: do for the former game, not just something happened, right,
- 35:20Speaker 3: What's that It's.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Interesting He's not on the report at all for the
- 35:23Speaker 1: shoulder that they have said exactly.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so who knows.
- 35:28Speaker 3: And boy, heel injuries. I could tell you this. We're
- 35:30Speaker 3: talking to players over the year's receivers. They hate it
- 35:34Speaker 3: because you can't you have terrouble pushing off. So you
- 35:37Speaker 3: talk about his shoulder, now you're talking about his foot,
- 35:40Speaker 3: so that that's worrisome. And then if he's not ready,
- 35:43Speaker 3: it would be Byron Young, who, by the way, is
- 35:45Speaker 3: on the injury report with the triceps injury heat heat.
- 35:48Speaker 3: He's he's expected to play, He expected to be available.
- 35:50Speaker 3: So look the Calcatara lat To, we know he's and
- 35:54Speaker 3: he plays the off set full back, but he is
- 35:58Speaker 3: the guy.
- 35:58Speaker 4: Who should be playing in line, not grantson of Coppa
- 36:01Speaker 4: Terra can't play. I mean coup charged out. I'm sorry,
- 36:03Speaker 4: He's the one who should be players out. Yeah all right.
- 36:06Speaker 1: So on the other side, the Giants were fairly healthy defensively,
- 36:09Speaker 1: he's offensively. We know they're without Molik Neighbors, so that
- 36:13Speaker 1: takes away from their offense, and they're going to be
- 36:15Speaker 1: without Darius Slayton, one of their longtime deep threats, so
- 36:20Speaker 1: they're basically going up against this Eagles defense with Greg
- 36:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, wan Dale Robinson and Jalen Hyatt, I
- 36:27Speaker 1: guess as they're outside receivers or they're movable receivers there
- 36:31Speaker 1: and Deo Johnson as their tight end.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Well, it leach to believe that they're going to play
- 36:37Speaker 2: a ton of twelve personnel, which by the way they
- 36:39Speaker 2: did last week. It was clearly how they wanted to
- 36:42Speaker 2: play last week because they started off the game that
- 36:44Speaker 2: way and until you know, they got behind because without neighbors.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Think about this, and I did this research. Without neighbors,
- 36:52Speaker 2: they do not have a true boundary X wide receiver.
- 36:55Speaker 2: So that was reflected in the fact that against the
- 36:57Speaker 2: Saints they lined up in three by one sets on
- 37:00Speaker 2: only eleven of Dart's forty five dropbacks, and some of
- 37:04Speaker 2: them were actually what we call one by three sets
- 37:07Speaker 2: where Theo Johnson was the boundary X because he's a
- 37:09Speaker 2: pretty athletic tight end. So they don't have a boundary
- 37:12Speaker 2: X receiver. They don't have that guy. Now, Hyatt can run,
- 37:16Speaker 2: but he's obviously not developed in the way that they
- 37:18Speaker 2: had hoped because barring injuries, he doesn't really play. You know,
- 37:22Speaker 2: if neighbors wasn't hurt, Hyatt wouldn't be playing, you know,
- 37:24Speaker 2: And now that that Slayton's out, you know, obviously he
- 37:28Speaker 2: becomes in a sense Number two one. Del Robinson is
- 37:31Speaker 2: a pure slot, pure slot because I think he leads
- 37:35Speaker 2: the league in lining up in the slot and he
- 37:37Speaker 2: might be at the top of the league in slot targets.
- 37:40Speaker 2: So you know, that's what he is.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Real quick, do you know anything about bo Collins. I
- 37:47Speaker 3: was just about, oh, yeah, yeah, he's a kidding go
- 37:49Speaker 3: ahead about him.
- 37:51Speaker 2: He's he was a huge recruit and he started at
- 37:54Speaker 2: Clemson and ended up in Notre Dame and he's going
- 37:57Speaker 2: to play and he's he's you know, he was a
- 38:01Speaker 2: guy that when he first went to Clemson as a freshman,
- 38:04Speaker 2: people were talking about him as like the next guy,
- 38:07Speaker 2: you know, the next big time wide out because he's big,
- 38:09Speaker 2: he can run and it you know, it didn't work out,
- 38:13Speaker 2: and he obviously transferred and and Notre Dame. He didn't
- 38:17Speaker 2: have big numbers, but he's got ability. He's gonna be
- 38:20Speaker 2: he's the he's the third guy, maybe the second guy
- 38:22Speaker 2: who knows. I don't know how they're going to work
- 38:23Speaker 2: their their rotation, but you will see a lot of
- 38:27Speaker 2: twelve personnel unless the game gets out of handle early
- 38:30Speaker 2: with Neo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger, that's what you're gonna see, right.
- 38:33Speaker 3: And then Chris Manherts is in the NFL for one thing.
- 38:35Speaker 3: He can block from that power.
- 38:37Speaker 2: He plays, you know, he plays eight ten snaps a game.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, He's a third time he'll come into short
- 38:42Speaker 3: yards from that powerhouse football school.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Jeff Canisius And.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't want to jump on you, Jeff,
- 38:51Speaker 2: so I'll wait till you, you know, changed to what next
- 38:54Speaker 2: thing to talk about?
- 38:56Speaker 1: No, go ahead, go for it, you know, and then
- 38:59Speaker 1: the run game.
- 39:00Speaker 2: You know, scatter Bow was a guy I really I
- 39:03Speaker 2: was found so intriguing watching his college tape at Arizona State,
- 39:06Speaker 2: you know, And we probably talked about this leading up
- 39:09Speaker 2: to the draft, but that's a long time ago, so
- 39:11Speaker 2: we can revisit it. You know. He's not explosive, but
- 39:15Speaker 2: he's powerful, he's competitive, he's urgent, you know, and no
- 39:21Speaker 2: one is going to look at Camp scatter Bow and say, wow,
- 39:23Speaker 2: that's my feature back. But you know, we had this
- 39:26Speaker 2: conversation about Kyraen Williams one hundred times scatter Bow to me,
- 39:30Speaker 2: can be that guy if you know what he is
- 39:34Speaker 2: and it fits how you put together an offense. He's
- 39:38Speaker 2: not going to take it to the house. And he's
- 39:40Speaker 2: a very good receiver, by the way, and he will
- 39:42Speaker 2: stick his nose in there to block because he's he's
- 39:44Speaker 2: got that. He's an attitude guy. He's a swagger guy,
- 39:48Speaker 2: and every offense likes that, particularly at the running back position.
- 39:53Speaker 4: And he could catch it man.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Yeah. So again he's not a guy that you know,
- 39:57Speaker 2: you have to worry he's going to break off at
- 39:59Speaker 2: seventy year or two. But if you know, if they
- 40:02Speaker 2: can somehow with their old line, which is you know,
- 40:05Speaker 2: it's been serviceable, it hasn't been We've seen giants old
- 40:08Speaker 2: lines over the last four or five years at times
- 40:10Speaker 2: been atrocious. There it's not atrocious, it's serviceable.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Evan Neil does not play, that's kind of where they're at.
- 40:18Speaker 2: And again, if Carter can't go, you know, I'm not
- 40:20Speaker 2: saying that, you know, young and and Joemo are bad players,
- 40:23Speaker 2: but obviously Carter, you know, went healthy and playing well
- 40:26Speaker 2: as a star and a stut so you know they're
- 40:31Speaker 2: going to need to have some semblance of a run game.
- 40:33Speaker 2: And by the way, Dart's been a part of that,
- 40:35Speaker 2: because Dart's been very up and down, which we would
- 40:39Speaker 2: all would expect, you know, starting two games.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Well, one thing coaches don't like Craig. They liked everything
- 40:46Speaker 1: you said about Cam Scattaber. What they don't like is
- 40:48Speaker 1: when you have a chance to score a go ahead
- 40:50Speaker 1: touchdown and you fumble right the other opponent picks it
- 40:54Speaker 1: up and runs it back eighty six yards, which is
- 40:55Speaker 1: exactly how the Giants lost last week to the Saints.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Rookies are going to make rookie mistakes. And I can't
- 41:02Speaker 1: believe how many people have already fumbled the ball when
- 41:05Speaker 1: they should have had a touchdown, because I know it's
- 41:08Speaker 1: it's unbelievable that that's.
- 41:09Speaker 4: That's terrible, right. But the thing is definite Signatory is
- 41:12Speaker 4: a nice backup.
- 41:14Speaker 3: He's just not They've the John shrib is the starter
- 41:16Speaker 3: fail Buffalo tried fail, Uston tried fail.
- 41:20Speaker 4: He's a good backup. Coaches love him.
- 41:22Speaker 3: He does everything ask But Scatabo has got to be
- 41:25Speaker 3: that guy and is Greg said. He's not explosive, but
- 41:28Speaker 3: he's decisive and he knows where he wants to go
- 41:30Speaker 3: with the football he could be because because.
- 41:33Speaker 2: What's going on with Tyrone Tracy.
- 41:34Speaker 1: It sounds like Tyrone going to play, though it sounds.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Like he's, uh, well no he I'm looking at the
- 41:41Speaker 3: latest update.
- 41:42Speaker 4: He's a gay. Okay, I'm sorry. He's a game day decision.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Yeah, real close. If he gets clear of the question
- 41:47Speaker 3: is how much does he play?
- 41:49Speaker 2: Because he's got he's the guy with the most juice
- 41:51Speaker 2: of those guys.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Yeah, right on there by the way, on their on
- 41:54Speaker 1: their final injury report, Tyrone Tracy did not carry an
- 41:58Speaker 1: injury designation, so it sounds.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Like he should play.
- 42:01Speaker 3: The question for him, Okay, let's say let's let's just
- 42:03Speaker 3: that which is a key point here. He hasn't think
- 42:06Speaker 3: he does have a game that he does have a
- 42:08Speaker 3: game statisisignation, so that means he'll play. But the key
- 42:11Speaker 3: for him is, because it's a shoulder injury, how much?
- 42:14Speaker 3: How much could he handle? You know that's because scati
- 42:17Speaker 3: Boa Scatibo's a guy could handle some volume. He's got
- 42:19Speaker 3: real good versatil. He Tracy's the juice guy between the
- 42:22Speaker 3: two of them, because remember Tracy's missed time now, so
- 42:25Speaker 3: you got to see how it works between two of them.
- 42:27Speaker 1: So this will be an interesting chess match, right because
- 42:29Speaker 1: if because of their wide receiver limitations, as Greg noted,
- 42:33Speaker 1: the Giants have been playing some twelve personnel, and if
- 42:36Speaker 1: there likes me to play a decent a lot of
- 42:38Speaker 1: twelve personnel, that means Vic Fangio, at least based on
- 42:42Speaker 1: his history, is likely to counter with a decent amount
- 42:46Speaker 1: of bass personnel, which would make Cooper to Gene the
- 42:48Speaker 1: outside corner and not Killey Ringo corre. If you're the Giants,
- 42:54Speaker 1: kind of think you want if you're gonna go after somebody,
- 42:57Speaker 1: you'd rather go after Killia Ringo, then you would coop Gene.
- 43:00Speaker 1: So that's where the cat and mouse goes. If you're Vic,
- 43:03Speaker 1: you may, ordinarily, if someone's gonna play that much twelve,
- 43:06Speaker 1: you might throw your nickel on against the counter, but
- 43:09Speaker 1: maybe he sticks with base. I think that's that's a
- 43:12Speaker 1: really interesting cat and mouse game here.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Yeah, But I think, and I'm not saying they're not
- 43:18Speaker 2: thinking about that, but I think the number one thing
- 43:20Speaker 2: they're thinking is what is best for our young quarterback,
- 43:24Speaker 2: because the last thing you want in this game are
- 43:27Speaker 2: negative plays and early turnovers because you got a young quarterback.
- 43:33Speaker 2: You know, granted, they scored on their first two possessions
- 43:35Speaker 2: last week, and they scored on their first one in
- 43:37Speaker 2: his first game against the Chargers, and then you could
- 43:41Speaker 2: almost see on the tape the lack of comfort, and
- 43:44Speaker 2: that stood out through the first two games. Now, he
- 43:47Speaker 2: can make plays with his legs and you got to
- 43:49Speaker 2: deal with that, and you got to be aware of that,
- 43:51Speaker 2: but he has not really been a comfortable player in
- 43:54Speaker 2: the pocket throwing the football.
- 43:55Speaker 4: How's their offensive line, ban Greg?
- 43:57Speaker 2: So far? It's been okay, it hasn't you know, it
- 43:59Speaker 2: hasn't been you know, like I said, for the number
- 44:01Speaker 2: of years it was you know, probably bottom three or
- 44:04Speaker 2: bottom four, and we you know, everybody used to laugh
- 44:06Speaker 2: at it, but it's actually, you know, it's okay. It's
- 44:09Speaker 2: not great.
- 44:10Speaker 1: How Andrew Thomas look since coming back from his injury, fine, okay, you.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Know, and they've they've got guys who've been in the
- 44:16Speaker 2: league and have played a lot of games, the Van
- 44:18Speaker 2: Rotens of the world. Not a star. You know, maybe
- 44:21Speaker 2: maybe some might say, oh, he'd be better as a
- 44:22Speaker 2: sixth or seventh guy, but he started a lot of
- 44:25Speaker 2: games in the NFL.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Right, I can imagine This will be a big game
- 44:30Speaker 1: for the interior part of the Eagles defense, the linebacker
- 44:34Speaker 1: off ball linebacker level, nickel level, because you would think
- 44:37Speaker 1: that the Giants would probably to protect their quarterback, want
- 44:40Speaker 1: to attack horizontally as much as they can move the
- 44:43Speaker 1: try to move the chains with the running back, try
- 44:45Speaker 1: to get the ball to their tight ends. If you
- 44:47Speaker 1: got something deep to jail and maybe you take it right,
- 44:51Speaker 1: but in general to your point right, to support their quarterback,
- 44:54Speaker 1: you're gonna want to try to move, stay ahead of
- 44:57Speaker 1: the sticks and keep yeah, limit possessions for the and
- 45:00Speaker 1: keep it keep the ball control going.
- 45:02Speaker 2: That's to take a shout once in a while. They
- 45:04Speaker 2: did that against the Saints with vertical type routes which
- 45:07Speaker 2: weren't there, and then so Dark didn't throw it. But
- 45:11Speaker 2: you know, even John Running, you know, he's the guy
- 45:14Speaker 2: who started a lot of games too. I mean, they've
- 45:16Speaker 2: got this is not like a bunch of guys where
- 45:18Speaker 2: we go, oh my god, who are these guys there?
- 45:19Speaker 2: You know, these are professional offensive linemen. It's not the
- 45:22Speaker 2: best group in the league, but these guys have played
- 45:24Speaker 2: a lot of football.
- 45:25Speaker 3: See Jeff, I'll be interested to see how Fangio takes
- 45:28Speaker 3: this because with their down to receivers right, their best
- 45:31Speaker 3: one obviously neighbors and Slayton, who you know has gotten
- 45:34Speaker 3: eagles at times, he could run. Jalen Hyatt's a spike
- 45:37Speaker 3: putting all the weight on is kind of this guy
- 45:39Speaker 3: you just can't you can't trust. Yeah, And Wanda Robinson
- 45:44Speaker 3: who has got good interior quickness, but he's an inside player.
- 45:47Speaker 3: And they're playing the kid Bo Collins, And we talked
- 45:49Speaker 3: about who's an untractive.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Rookie does he see does fixate? Oh, we can.
- 45:54Speaker 3: We could blitz these guys because we were not worried
- 45:57Speaker 3: about their receivers. Because it's not a good group without
- 45:59Speaker 3: the two really good players. I'll be in to see
- 46:02Speaker 3: what his approaches.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Well, the only thing and again not sitting here saying
- 46:07Speaker 2: that Jalen Hyatt is a great player or Bo Collins
- 46:09Speaker 2: is a great player, but both those guys can run.
- 46:12Speaker 2: And if they're in eleven personnel and Kaylee Ringos on
- 46:16Speaker 2: the outside, they might think that that's a you know, again,
- 46:20Speaker 2: when you talk about this stuff, as you guys know,
- 46:22Speaker 2: we're not saying they're going to do this twelve times,
- 46:24Speaker 2: you know, but you know they could feel like, let's
- 46:26Speaker 2: take a shot.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Do they go under center at all? Do
- 46:30Speaker 1: they do they play the traditional pro style game? Where
- 46:33Speaker 1: is Jackson Dart shotgun heavy?
- 46:35Speaker 2: And it's shotgun heavy? Yeah, shockgun heavy. I don't know
- 46:38Speaker 2: if it's every snap, but it's shotgun heavy.
- 46:40Speaker 1: I see he's had some good runs of those designed
- 46:42Speaker 1: runs or are they both very interesting?
- 46:46Speaker 4: No?
- 46:46Speaker 2: And and because he breaks down so quick, you know,
- 46:49Speaker 2: he looks to move a lot, you know, because he's
- 46:52Speaker 2: at the stage in his career which is to be
- 46:54Speaker 2: totally expected where he's you know, not seeing he doesn't
- 46:57Speaker 2: get a clear picture right away, and he just you know, again,
- 47:00Speaker 2: that's what vic Fango is well known for. And we'll
- 47:03Speaker 2: see how he plays. Obviously he's played a lot of
- 47:05Speaker 2: man coverage this year, more than many might have expected
- 47:08Speaker 2: given the way we think about Fangio. But this might
- 47:11Speaker 2: be a game where he shows that quarter structure and
- 47:13Speaker 2: then you know, and then does a lot of movement
- 47:15Speaker 2: at the snap of the ball, right, you know, And
- 47:18Speaker 2: because that's going to confuse Jackson Dart at the stage
- 47:20Speaker 2: of his development.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Greg, how would you how would you just overall assess
- 47:27Speaker 1: the tape of the Eagles defensive front, whether it's the
- 47:30Speaker 1: interior or the edge of not talking about the linebackers.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Just in general, I think it's been good. I mean,
- 47:39Speaker 2: I think Jordan Davis has clearly become I don't want
- 47:42Speaker 2: to call him a dominant run defender, but a very
- 47:44Speaker 2: good run defender. Still needs work as a pass rusher.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Jalen Carter's had an up and down year and I think,
- 47:51Speaker 2: you know, maybe it's because of the injury, but he
- 47:52Speaker 2: has not been as consistently dominant. He has moments when
- 47:56Speaker 2: he looks ridiculously dominant, but he hasn't been that guy
- 48:00Speaker 2: all the time. I think a Jomo is gradually and
- 48:02Speaker 2: incrementally getting better young I think is a nice solid
- 48:09Speaker 2: rotational piece. You know, you don't you probably don't want
- 48:12Speaker 2: him playing sixty snaps, but if he can play twenty
- 48:14Speaker 2: five or thirty, I think he's a you know, he's
- 48:16Speaker 2: a nice rotational player. I'm very anxious now based on
- 48:20Speaker 2: what you did last week to see the continuing development
- 48:23Speaker 2: of Olajari because obviously no one Smith's going to be
- 48:27Speaker 2: out until I'm sure at least mid November, so it's
- 48:29Speaker 2: going to be a while. So Darius Smith gives you
- 48:32Speaker 2: good snaps. I mean he's he's just a solid pro,
- 48:34Speaker 2: you know, is he You know, he's not Miles Garrett,
- 48:37Speaker 2: but I mean he gives you good snaps. I think
- 48:39Speaker 2: it's I think the front's been been it's not been
- 48:42Speaker 2: a weakness.
- 48:43Speaker 1: No, see, I asked you that question intentionally, and Adam,
- 48:45Speaker 1: I think this is where when we really break down
- 48:48Speaker 1: who the Eagles are compared to what they have been.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Is that they are getting individually good to solid play
- 48:54Speaker 1: out of a lot of players. But this team is
- 48:56Speaker 1: accustomed to having one or two killers each year. And
- 49:01Speaker 1: last year we joked about turning inside the Tape into
- 49:04Speaker 1: inside the Williams Tape. Now, Josh Sweat at times would
- 49:07Speaker 1: just wreck a game, including the Super Bowl, and I
- 49:10Speaker 1: think that's the missing element. So far, it's not played poorly.
- 49:14Speaker 1: They've done their job for the most part. The Denver game,
- 49:17Speaker 1: they're on the field quite a bit. I mean Denver
- 49:18Speaker 1: made some really nice plays, but no one's becoming the
- 49:22Speaker 1: killer on that defensive front just yet. Think about what
- 49:26Speaker 1: we said about a Joemo though in training camp, Oh
- 49:29Speaker 1: he looked like a killer, And then how training camp
- 49:31Speaker 1: can fool you. A Joe has been fine. He's not
- 49:33Speaker 1: been a killer, right. I think it's fair to say
- 49:36Speaker 1: Jelex Hunt, as we said going into the year, is
- 49:39Speaker 1: showing that he's still a young, developing player and not
- 49:42Speaker 1: ready to be that guy just yet.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Which is probably not a surprise to anybody.
- 49:47Speaker 3: No, I was expecting. I was expecting that to happen.
- 49:50Speaker 3: In fact, I thought they would have been better off
- 49:51Speaker 3: as having him as their third ad.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Thresher, right, said more slowly, but they rushed it.
- 49:58Speaker 3: He had been bad, like you said, yeah, right, as
- 50:00Speaker 3: he set it up with with Carter.
- 50:02Speaker 2: You know, it's also possible despite the athletic traits. And
- 50:05Speaker 2: I'm not saying this is true or not. We don't
- 50:07Speaker 2: know that. Maybe he'll never be a great pass rusher
- 50:09Speaker 2: and it'll be more of just like a really good,
- 50:12Speaker 2: solid athletic player. You know, there are linebackers like that
- 50:15Speaker 2: who are not necessarily great pass rushers, but they're good players. Right.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Yeah, But the thing is they got to get Carter going.
- 50:22Speaker 3: By the way, watch the transactions on on Thursday at
- 50:25Speaker 3: four pemeaster and that's the deadline. If one d tackle
- 50:28Speaker 3: on the practice squad, it's Gabe Hall. If he's activated,
- 50:32Speaker 3: it's it's obviously there's a problem with Carter. They're worried
- 50:35Speaker 3: about the heel. If he's not, they clearly think he's
- 50:38Speaker 3: playing like they're.
- 50:38Speaker 1: A great point.
- 50:39Speaker 4: Transactions always give you a story to watch that on Thursday.
- 50:42Speaker 1: All right, great, great point? Anything else? Defel oh, I
- 50:46Speaker 1: mean both. So when na Kobe does come back, let's
- 50:48Speaker 1: talk about this now, because it'll be a long time
- 50:50Speaker 1: before our next pregame show. What kind of Let's say
- 50:54Speaker 1: he's looks like that he's physically capable of handling the workload.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Where might he fit in in this defense?
- 51:00Speaker 2: Greg, I don't know the answer to that. I really don't.
- 51:05Speaker 1: I don't think Vicos just yet either.
- 51:07Speaker 2: I don't know the answer to that. I mean I personally. Look,
- 51:10Speaker 2: it's one thing if you want to give John Campbell
- 51:13Speaker 2: a spell, but I wouldn't go into like a deep
- 51:16Speaker 2: rotation there where each guy's playing thirty snaps. But they
- 51:20Speaker 2: also have been to war so to speak with with
- 51:23Speaker 2: Nikobe Dean, and you know, he was a major part
- 51:25Speaker 2: of their Super Bowl season a year ago. You know,
- 51:28Speaker 2: even though he got hurt before that game, he was
- 51:30Speaker 2: a major part. You know, he played exceptionally well down
- 51:34Speaker 2: the stretch, So you know, he has a really good
- 51:36Speaker 2: resume going back to last year. You know, so I
- 51:40Speaker 2: don't know, you know, to me, To me, it's a
- 51:43Speaker 2: really tough decision. I personally would not want to take
- 51:46Speaker 2: joh Hot Campbell off the field. I mean meaningfully, you know,
- 51:51Speaker 2: if you know you hear something snaps, I get it,
- 51:55Speaker 2: but you know I wouldn't want to I wouldn't want
- 51:57Speaker 2: to take him off or you know, meaningful.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Stuf mm hmm, because on what Greg said is you
- 52:03Speaker 3: don't want to slow down Campbell's development because he's a
- 52:06Speaker 3: guy that remember he's still relatively new to inside backer.
- 52:09Speaker 3: We know he came to BAMAS at Rusher Show. You
- 52:12Speaker 3: got to be careful you take him off the field
- 52:13Speaker 3: because the coaches have always told me, once it's rolling,
- 52:18Speaker 3: it's rolling. You live with a couple of rookie mistakes. Now,
- 52:21Speaker 3: if he was costing them place placed by plays different, Sorry, he's.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Not he's not right.
- 52:26Speaker 1: I could see him maybe playing in some bass snaps
- 52:29Speaker 1: and then you move Campbell down and take like you know,
- 52:32Speaker 1: Jelex Hunt, Offer, Zadarius Smith. I'll just to give those
- 52:35Speaker 1: guys more pass us reps. Uh who else or is he?
- 52:39Speaker 1: But yeah, other than that, we're talking about, you know,
- 52:41Speaker 1: ten to fifteen percent of the game.
- 52:43Speaker 3: You know, one thing on Ojelari because the one thing
- 52:47Speaker 3: Greg I was when when Jeff and I and Andrew
- 52:49Speaker 3: were at training camp. I mean we would all talk like, wow,
- 52:52Speaker 3: I don't see with o'lari, it's just not moving all that.
- 52:55Speaker 4: Well, how did the tape.
- 52:56Speaker 2: Look like to you? With Oji really good in this
- 52:58Speaker 2: this past week? I thought it was really good. I
- 53:01Speaker 2: thought he really stood out. He flashed. I mean you
- 53:04Speaker 2: noticed him on tape. So did Vic.
- 53:05Speaker 1: By the way, you heard him say we had a
- 53:07Speaker 1: plan to play him X amount of snaps and then
- 53:10Speaker 1: we just kept him in there because he was.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Playing what I want. Well, the TA you know the
- 53:14Speaker 2: tape told you that.
- 53:15Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, Jeff, he could.
- 53:18Speaker 3: We'll say, let's not get ahead of ourselves. And they're
- 53:20Speaker 3: playing the giants here. Don't have for a good offensive line.
- 53:22Speaker 3: Bet on which side they line him up on, but
- 53:25Speaker 3: he could be a thirty to forty percent playtime guy
- 53:28Speaker 3: if he keeps us up, because man, do they need it.
- 53:32Speaker 1: All right, let's do what we do best. We're gonna
- 53:33Speaker 1: predict the game and give you the game MVP. The
- 53:36Speaker 1: Eagles enter this game at least as of right now,
- 53:39Speaker 1: seven and a half point favorites. Do you guys know
- 53:41Speaker 1: what the over under is for this game? I was
- 53:43Speaker 1: my eyes almost thought of my head.
- 53:44Speaker 4: I would guess thirty eight.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Thirty nine and a half. That's kind in a long
- 53:50Speaker 1: long time. But actually I can understand why it's just
- 53:53Speaker 1: really low for an Eagles game, especially, So Adam will
- 53:56Speaker 1: start with you. Who wins and what's the score?
- 53:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I've got it. Eagles twenty seven.
- 54:01Speaker 3: They're gonna take advantage of the cornerback group they're gonna
- 54:04Speaker 3: and Barkley we'll have against his former team and all
- 54:09Speaker 3: the drama that was caused by it.
- 54:10Speaker 4: When you know, on on a.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Hard knocks, I expect this to be a Barclay game
- 54:16Speaker 3: and I'm gonna take him as my MVP.
- 54:18Speaker 1: All right, So you said Eagles twenty seven, Giants, what
- 54:21Speaker 1: now seventeen?
- 54:22Speaker 3: And look with Tyrone Tracy in there, I expect him
- 54:25Speaker 3: for fantasy I see. I don't know if his shoulder
- 54:27Speaker 3: cauld handle it, but man, they need anyone who can
- 54:29Speaker 3: make a play to score. They're gonna have to get
- 54:31Speaker 3: Tracy and vaucas Greg's right, he's their juice guy running back.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Big time there you go, all right, Greg, what do
- 54:36Speaker 1: you see?
- 54:38Speaker 2: Maybe I'm out of my mind, but I just see
- 54:40Speaker 2: that they have an opportunity here to work, you know,
- 54:43Speaker 2: outside the numbers in the past game. Sure, and I
- 54:46Speaker 2: just think that, you know, I'm just gonna look at
- 54:50Speaker 2: AJ Brown and obviously he hasn't had the big plays
- 54:53Speaker 2: this year, but I think that you know, Deebo solid,
- 54:56Speaker 2: but he's you know, he's not fast, flat is I think,
- 55:00Speaker 2: you know, a good corner, solid, feisty for a size,
- 55:03Speaker 2: but beatable. I'm gonna go AJ Brown and I'm gonna
- 55:06Speaker 2: pick the Eagles to win twenty seven to thirteen.
- 55:09Speaker 1: That's a good score, all right. So you guys got covered,
- 55:12Speaker 1: both of you guys cover there. I also see the
- 55:14Speaker 1: Eagles winning. I'm just I've been wrestling back and forth.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Am I gonna say that this was a get right
- 55:20Speaker 1: game for them at the end? Or are we going
- 55:21Speaker 1: to be having a discussion on the postgame show? Like man,
- 55:24Speaker 1: I thought there was gonna be a little bit more
- 55:26Speaker 1: clicking with the Eagles offense. I am concerned a little
- 55:28Speaker 1: bit about the old line end about Jaalen Carter's health,
- 55:31Speaker 1: but that shouldn't really stop the Eagles from them winning
- 55:34Speaker 1: this game. So I will say Eagles thirty, Giants sixteen
- 55:38Speaker 1: in the end. And you know what, even though that's
- 55:40Speaker 1: a high score for the Eagles, I think that it's
- 55:43Speaker 1: going to be partly because of turnovers. And I'm looking
- 55:46Speaker 1: at Jahad Campbell is having a big game, couple sacks,
- 55:49Speaker 1: maybe even an interception, take one back. If not him,
- 55:51Speaker 1: then Zach Bond. I just think the Giants are going
- 55:54Speaker 1: to try to play this game horizontally and the Eagles
- 55:57Speaker 1: linebackers are not going to allow them to do that. Well,
- 56:00Speaker 1: So I am sticking with John Campbell as the player
- 56:02Speaker 1: of the game and the Giants Eagles winning thirty to sixteen.
- 56:06Speaker 1: That is going to do it for the Inside the
- 56:08Speaker 1: Birds postgame show for I'm sorry, pregame show for Gret
- 56:12Speaker 1: Cosell and Adam Kaplan, I'm Jeff Mosher. We will definitely
- 56:15Speaker 1: catch you on the postgame show. Enjoy your football watching.
