- 0:10What does the nanny do? OK, so we're done.
- 0:13Goodbye. You shut it off.
- 0:17Do not twist my words. Do not.
- 0:19Make me a victim, sweetie. Just look at the mountain.
- 0:22That's what you saw. That day, just the knife in the
- 0:26kidneys over all these years and
- 0:32love you. Season 5 episode 4 Polygamist
- 0:51cults. I have to admit something.
- 0:56I thought this was an episode that happens later in the show
- 0:58where there's a debate with people about polygamy, and I was
- 1:03wrong for the first time in my
- 1:06devastating. It's not that episode, but we do
- 1:09get Kolleen. For anyone who knows Kolleen,
- 1:13we're finally being introduced
- 1:16that. Our last episode, did it go off
- 1:19the rails? I don't know if it went off the
- 1:21rails. I feel like it did and didn't.
- 1:24It didn't. It didn't.
- 1:25We found out some things live about the Darger family.
- 1:32However, I would like to say after doing more research that
- 1:37it was more hearsay than anything.
- 1:41There are no proven claims about
- 1:47fact that it is true that he married 2 cousins on the same
- 1:53day and then the twin sister of one of the cousins 10 years
- 1:57later. So that is true and that's about
- 2:09could tell, you know, So we're going to, we're going to leave
- 2:15Is it incestuous? Well, you know.
- 2:19You determine. But that's about the extent of
- 2:35And then the Google search results and some of the things
- 2:41Oh my God, didn't know this from the episode.
- 2:44And then we were like, do we need to do some sort of further
- 2:48investigation? And then realized Nah,
- 2:50realistically, if all of it is just rumors and people on Reddit
- 2:58stand behind. You know, we just stand behind
- 3:03Beat them. Right or wrong, we have our own
- 3:05opinions. In this episode, we open at
- 3:10Janelle's house and they're discussing A nonprofit helping
- 3:16Darling, what is this cult not what is this called?
- 3:20What is this nonprofit called? It is called Holding out help.
- 3:28watching. Totally.
- 3:28With their lovely accents, it was like help, help.
- 3:33Help. I swear to God, I thought it was
- 3:37So good times holding out help. We find out that Logan, Aspen
- 3:43and Maddie are going to visit members of this nonprofit who
- 3:47are helping people escape the clenches, the claws of polygamy,
- 3:57We find out that Tanya is the founder of the organization and
- 4:01there might be some reasons to be fearful of Tanya if you're in
- 4:07your cult. And it's not our lovely Tanya
- 4:10the realtor Tanya. That.
- 4:12We've come to love and know. The fashion icon.
- 4:16Tanya There is a new Tanya coming on our screens tonight.
- 4:28Yeah, they say that the organization is to help people
- 4:50Kody, Christine and Janelle are speaking to Aspen and I'm
- 4:54assuming the morning that they're leaving.
- 4:55I don't know if I quite remember, but they're asking her
- 5:02worried about going because she thinks that she'll hear some bad
- 5:09understandable. Yeah.
- 5:11I wouldn't want to go hear people talking about how bad
- 5:13homosexuals are in case I ever come out of the closet.
- 5:16Now that would be terrible to hear.
- 5:17The parents are speaking to the kids about standing up for
- 5:21plural marriage and if they'll feel comfortable standing up for
- 5:42I was going to say, I don't know that.
- 5:45If they don't believe in it, why do they have to stand up for it
- 5:48just because their parents are in one?
- 5:50I mean, well, let's think about this.
- 5:52If it's being set up for by production or if it's being set
- 5:56up as a storyline thing, then, you know, I don't know that
- 5:59without the show, this would be, I don't think without the show
- 6:05something and I think they're giving us something as well.
- 6:08We hope the kids stand up for our lifestyle.
- 6:10Kody wants them to see what's really going on so they can
- 6:15stand up against evil. So he wants them to go and get a
- 6:23in the Mormon church and so that they can recognize evil.
- 6:28And I don't know, but it's like, OK, dude.
- 6:33He phrases it something like why I'm allowing them to go and I'm
- 6:37like, oh, you're allowing them to go.
- 6:39I love Kody's patriarch, blah blah blah.
- 6:43So nice of him to allow his teenagers.
- 6:45Logan, who has graduated from high school and is probably an
- 6:50glow up in this episode. The interviews must have been a
- 6:53little later, and I was like, oh, Logan is becoming a young
- 6:55man. I haven't really talked about
- 6:58how I view Logan because up until now he might have been a
- 7:04adult. I am guessing that he's 18 at
- 7:07this point. This has to be probably in the
- 7:12And that's why they're able to go and do this trip for a little
- 7:22off, so it's probably summer. I was a little surprised that
- 7:26Leon wasn't going on this trip. I'm curious if Leon was busy or
- 7:31if potentially because Leon's perspective right now is that
- 7:34they do want to be in polygamy, that maybe they were like Nah or
- 7:54scared to be in a situation like this and probably just be a
- 7:58crybaby. Yeah, I can see that.
- 7:59Yeah, it wouldn't end well for Leon, I don't think, to have met
- 8:09and the kids are getting ready to leave on this little road
- 8:13trip up to Utah, Janelle and Kody are, you know, having a
- 8:16spotlight moment talking to the camera.
- 8:18And one of the things that they mentioned is that they're
- 8:20curious if these people will be like, across the board against
- 8:29about the stereotypes of polygamy?
- 8:30It's like, well, they all came from polygamy.
- 8:34I mean, I don't think that I shouldn't say they all, but
- 8:37Tanya's the only one we know of. Now we do get introduced to
- 8:40Carrie, who is her, you know, business partner her.
- 8:43Yeah, they're. Adult in charge.
- 8:47And I don't know why they would have stereotypes of polygamy if
- 8:52they're from polygamist groups. So I don't know, it seems like
- 8:57They just got to talk. Kody says that some people say
- 9:05Yeah. And do we think he's wrong that?
- 9:13I also just don't know that it's
- 9:15Like I wouldn't call them the same thing.
- 9:17Just because you have multiple
- 9:20inherently abusive. I don't think it's necessarily
- 9:24abusive to the women that chose the lifestyle.
- 9:28I do think it's kind of abusive and neglectful to the children,
- 9:32which I have mentioned before.
- 9:36over, and I'm not going to say a
- 9:41go there, but I think that after
- 9:44children, it becomes neglectful because they're just not going
- 9:47to get enough of their parents.
- 9:48They're not going to get enough support.
- 9:50They're not going to get the attention that children need to
- 9:54grow and thrive. And I think a lot of kids from
- 10:03And there's a lot of siblings that are put in control or power
- 10:14And I think you could argue that
- 10:16that is abuse in some cases. Yeah, well, I mean, I've always
- 10:21thought I should have been an only child because I needed all
- 10:24of the attention and all of the love, and my brothers have
- 10:27already heard me say that I wish
- 10:29But now I'm glad they're here.
- 10:32child, and your brothers were dandelions so.
- 10:35An orchid. Orchid.
- 10:37Oh, an orchid? Yes, yes, definitely.
- 10:40An orchid child versus the dandelion child.
- 10:43Yep. There's some weeds and I'm
- 10:44beautiful. There's this is a concept, a new
- 10:47concept to me. There's, you know, the child
- 10:50that's going to need more to grow and more help and a little
- 10:54more nurturing. And then there's the child that
- 10:57is just like weed that's going
- 11:01Yes, this is where Maddie and Logan tell us they'll be helping
- 11:05to set up a safe house for the
- 11:09some details about painting and moving in some furniture, blah,
- 11:12blah, blah. When they arrive, Carrie is
- 11:16there to welcome the kids to this new home that they're going
- 11:19to be painting and helping move things into.
- 11:21We were not told about Carrie before we get there.
- 11:24So it was a little like, OK, like all of a sudden here's
- 11:26Carrie and sounds good to meet
- 11:31But now we get introduced to the
- 11:35Well, the young adults, the youth that are being served up
- 11:40to us as the former polygamist
- 11:44out help. Yeah, yeah, They've been helped,
- 11:47all right. And they have very strong
- 11:50opinions. Not well, not all of them.
- 11:54Yeah, Kolleen has very strong opinions.
- 11:57Polygamy. We get introduced to her.
- 12:01Yes, Kolleen with AK, in case you're wondering.
- 12:03Yeah. You pointed that out to me.
- 12:05I did not notice it because I was busy writing and you were
- 12:08like, look at how she spells her
- 12:10I'm like, oh honey. Kolleen with AK.
- 12:14Yep. And as we discussed in our last
- 12:16episode with a little preview,
- 12:20She is blonde, blonde, blonde.
- 12:23With aggressive makeup. Oh, aggressive is a good way to.
- 12:26Start. Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:28This is the period in time at the height of YouTube makeup
- 12:34beauty culture where, you know, every week there was a
- 12:39different brand coming out with a new palette, and you had to
- 12:41have all the palettes and all the colors.
- 12:43And you're watching beauty tutorials and let me tell you,
- 12:50eyeshadow brushes, and probably been watching a YouTube channel
- 12:54or two. Because it's not that it looked
- 12:56bad, it actually was pretty decent makeup for the time
- 13:00period that this was shot in. But she is definitely trying her
- 13:13ex FLDS or Kingston Sect member.
- 13:18It reminded me of Myspace. Now this is this is after most
- 13:26of us were using Myspace. But let's remember these are
- 13:29polygamous. Former polygamous 2012, 2000
- 13:32whenever ish. I don't really remember, but she
- 13:36looked like a lot of young women
- 13:40Slightly behind the time, yeah.
- 13:42Yeah, Well. Orange County, You know, emo.
- 13:46I don't even know what. I'm surprised she didn't have
- 13:50big black chunks in her hair, frankly.
- 13:52If I were to show you a picture of me from gosh like 3 years
- 13:58before this I would look almost exactly like that with the short
- 14:10literally had it. Like it looked like a wind, Like
- 14:21head. And then the seawater dried her
- 14:24hair in this upward weird position and it was not moving.
- 14:28No movement, and in fact, the
- 14:30seagull also pooped, but you can't see it because her hair's
- 14:33white. Yeah, it's like the same color
- 14:35as the seagulls. Mirrored her hair up into the
- 14:37side. Very something about Meri.
- 14:40It was on the side of her head.
- 14:42Something about a different Meri.
- 14:43Not Meri Brown, definitely. Oh, look, highly stylized in a
- 14:52we're talking about. If you haven't seen the show,
- 14:54maybe we'll have to find an image of her and share it on the
- 15:00the show. By the way, she I think was in
- 15:08I wonder what she looks like. To do.
- 15:11Oh my gosh. We'll have to do a side by side
- 15:13of my photo in her. Yes.
- 15:14Because I swear to God, I'm like, what?
- 15:17Kolleen with AK, if you are listening, I'm very interested
- 15:26Yeah. I'm curious where she's at now.
- 15:28And I'm sure she looks back at
- 15:30this time and is like, what was I doing with my hair?
- 15:33Because I look back at myself from this time period in three
- 15:36years prior and I'm like, what
- 15:39hair? I have never seen this done
- 15:43before though. The seagull hair.
- 15:46Not like this, no. No it.
- 15:48Really was unique. It was really something else.
- 15:51It definitely was, yeah, And I
- 15:56Especially for the camera. You know, pull that out for the
- 15:59camera. Sure, why not?
- 16:01Let's try it. Listen, if I was going on TLC,
- 16:03my hair would be so boring. So I have to give her kudos, you
- 16:06know, at least she's doing something.
- 16:08My hair would be teased to the
- 16:10You. Have like 80s hair.
- 16:13So in this introduction segment we meet Kolleen with AK who is
- 16:18from the Kingston sect of polygamy.
- 16:22Kingston's Kingston? I'm not sure.
- 16:25If it's Kingston's. Kingston's, Yeah.
- 16:27And along with Kolleen, with AK,
- 16:32from the Kingston sect. The other two young adults that
- 16:37we are meeting are from the FLDS.
- 16:39We are meeting Susan. Suzanne.
- 16:42Suzanne. Suzanne and Stephen.
- 16:46Stephen. Stephen and Stephen was kicked
- 16:52out and FLDS is Warren Jeffs sect by the way.
- 16:57I'm sure most people listening
- 17:00But for those of you that don't,
- 17:04Jeffs was. In charge of and controlling
- 17:07Warren Jeffs sect, where you know, he was famously imprisoned
- 17:13for child rape and murder. Child not murder, but child rape
- 17:18and a lot of bad things. Probably just couldn't catch him
- 17:23on a couldn't catch him with the
- 17:27The big M and the parents are on
- 17:31brief introductions of the youth.
- 17:33The former polygamist youth, after we get this brief
- 17:37introduction of these young adults that are former that are
- 17:40from polygamist cults, the parents are on the couch and
- 17:45Kody talks about how bad Warren Jeffs is and they're not all
- 17:50like Warren Jeffs, he's evil, etcetera.
- 17:55I kind of like didn't really care about the details of what
- 17:57Kody was talking about, just that Warren Jeffs is evil.
- 18:00Did you care about any of it? No, I did not have any takeaways
- 18:03of that, but I do want to point out back when we met Kolleen,
- 18:09she came out and she said that
- 18:12take her anger out on and like
- 18:17Maddie are going to be the perfect ones for her to do that
- 18:20with. So foreshadowing.
- 18:24After we get this information about Warren Jeffs from Kody
- 18:26that literally, I don't remember
- 18:30Carrie back up in Utah. Give us an update on the
- 18:33nonprofit, how they help people escaping.
- 18:36And sometimes these people have no family or connections in the
- 18:39outside world. And so obviously, that's why
- 18:40it's important. I don't know how much we need to
- 18:43dive into that. It's what it is, right?
- 18:45Like these people are in cults
- 18:47have no one on the outside. So that's why these nonprofits
- 18:50exist. So, you know, the kids, Maddie,
- 18:54Logan and Aspen arrive at this
- 18:59I feel like we weren't really given much of A this is what's
- 19:02going to happen. It's like all of a sudden they
- 19:03were doing it and they're priming walls and taping walls,
- 19:08getting ready to paint and whatever.
- 19:11And they kind of just jump right
- 19:15real time that they're having.
- 19:18any hobbies, and he says no. And I was like, oh, my gosh.
- 19:23And he's like, yeah, I don't really, never really had any
- 19:26hobbies. And I'm like, oh, God, like just
- 19:29the first example of someone asking a normal question of one
- 19:33of these people, what are your
- 19:35And he's like, I don't really have any.
- 19:39Oh, God. It just makes me feel so bad for
- 19:41these people that are raised in environments where what is it
- 19:44all just manual labor and prayer
- 19:48It's just like, Oh my God, you
- 19:50you even are interested in. I don't know, it just made me
- 19:54feel sad. Maddie is taken aback by it for
- 19:56sure. She's trying to have a
- 19:58conversation with him and ask him questions and you can tell
- 20:02he doesn't really know how to have a normal conversation,
- 20:05especially probably with a girl and a girl like outside of
- 20:11someone that he's grown to know and comfortable with.
- 20:15Even the other girls that are there and part of the group,
- 20:19he's uncomfortable around because later on when they ask
- 20:23if he wants to ride in the car
- 20:26to. And it's just like he doesn't
- 20:28have a personality at all. And it's not his fault.
- 20:32Obviously you're not allowed to have a personality.
- 20:35You're not allowed to be any different than the horde of
- 20:40sheep that you're supposed to be
- 20:42And this poor guy. Yeah, it just hit me for some
- 20:47reason. I can't imagine not having
- 20:50interests or hobbies that don't involve religion or like
- 20:56obeying my parents. Like I don't even know what that
- 20:59means. Well, the sad thing is too, that
- 21:01if from a young age you're basically told that being
- 21:07different is wrong and you have to color inside the lines and
- 21:12your brain literally doesn't make those connections as you're
- 21:16growing as a young child, you use them or lose them.
- 21:21Like, your brain is growing so
- 21:25first three years of life even.
- 21:27And if you're not nurtured and you're growing up and in this
- 21:31environment that they've grown up in, part of me wonders, like,
- 21:40literally your brain chemistry growing up as a child that's
- 21:44been affected. I don't know, Like, it just
- 21:47makes me feel so bad. Like, yeah, listening to him.
- 21:51Hopefully his time spent after escaping and up until today has
- 21:56been spent doing a lot of exploring, like self
- 22:00exploration. Exploration of the world, I
- 22:04hope. Maybe some psychedelics open up
- 22:06that mind again, some mushrooms, I don't know, not
- 22:11condoning it. I'm condoning it.
- 22:14I'm all about it. I think that it could be super
- 22:17helpful in therapy for people like this.
- 22:19Like I think that this is a like
- 22:23somebody like him would be the
- 22:28I don't know. The awarenesses that could come
- 22:31from LSD or, you know, even ketamine treatments, that is
- 22:35more common today, yeah. Could be really, really helpful
- 22:38to reprogramming. Yeah.
- 22:40Oh. My God, a therapeutic trip under
- 22:42the right circumstances, right?
- 22:44Under super. Because I straight up throughout
- 22:53just like dead behind the eyes, kind of like didn't know
- 22:57what to do with himself, didn't have a personality.
- 23:00And I really, truly hope that he's in a better place now.
- 23:05They did not say how long he's been out of at FLDS church.
- 23:11At this point, no. We didn't really get many
- 23:14details about. It yeah, so that could have
- 23:16something to do with it too. Like we don't know how long he's
- 23:20shocked. But I'm guessing that they
- 23:24picked these four to be like the best feet forward the people
- 23:30that agreed to be on this show. So I do think it'd be weird for
- 23:36them to put him in this position after helping him if
- 23:39they didn't feel he was ready to be in this situation.
- 23:42So I don't know what that says, but.
- 23:46Kolleen with AK is going to give us some more of her updates,
- 23:50some more details about her. She left twice as a teenager.
- 23:55At 15 years old, she escaped polygamy, but then she was sent
- 24:01back. I don't think we got any details
- 24:14her or that maybe some sort of child welfare was involved.
- 24:18And yeah, she got sent back. Yeah.
- 24:21But at 17, she was able to leave for good.
- 24:25She volunteers that her first memory is of her father, who was
- 24:33Don't really know what to say about that.
- 24:36Like Oh my God, I wonder. OK so and Kolleen in general is
- 24:42harping on all polygamists. So she is anti polygamy.
- 24:46Every statement that she makes about polygamy is like a broad
- 24:51delusional and all these things. When she says that her first
- 24:55memories of her father beating her up, I'm going like, do I
- 25:00believe this? And I think I do.
- 25:04But her, her appearance and her demeanor seem so kind of like
- 25:09trying to get something, you know, making an impression,
- 25:13being dramatic. Aggressive.
- 25:14Aggressive, as you said, her makeup was she's very
- 25:18aggressive. She.
- 25:18Is she's very aggressive. So that for some reason gives me
- 25:25No, you're not. She's got hard edges everywhere.
- 25:30somebody like that with a chip
- 25:32hard to believe what they're saying because there's no give
- 25:36in the conversation. There's no give and take.
- 25:39And it makes you wary of like anything they're going to say
- 25:44because you're like, well, you
- 25:46You have an agenda. And it's that everybody's bad.
- 25:49You're not willing to listen. And it goes like on both sides
- 25:53of the spectrum, right? Like she has this hard stance
- 25:57just as a hardcore member in the
- 26:02stance. So it's like if you you catch
- 26:05more bees with honey or flies with honey.
- 26:08So I don't know, her approach is
- 26:12really does want to help people.
- 26:15Yeah. Oh, she's so angsty with the
- 26:18aggression. Is this surly angst?
- 26:20Just kind of like, I'm stuck at 15 and I hate everyone.
- 26:24Like, OK, but like, Oh my gosh. Really, she is in this era, like
- 26:35probably can't move past between 15 and 17 when she was
- 26:39escaping, and she needs therapy to help move on and to
- 26:45continue growing up or she's going to be probably stuck in
- 26:50this for a bit. Yeah, she keeps saying that
- 26:54anyone that would be a part of
- 26:57It just must be stupid. And you just can't say broad,
- 27:04sweeping statements like that.
- 27:08intelligent reason as to why you
- 27:12You're just saying it and thinking that that's going to
- 27:14change minds. Like, that's not how it works.
- 27:18It's like having a Facebook message board argument, like in
- 27:22the comments section, Like, Oh
- 27:27change minds, you know? But yeah, Steven tells Maddie
- 27:35that he has three moms, that he had four moms and then one
- 27:39left. And then he talks about how he
- 27:47there. I mean, he had one that he felt
- 27:50close with, but that's kind of it.
- 27:51And she left. Yeah, it's really sad.
- 27:55We find out, you know, about a few of their situations and that
- 28:07kids went by the wayside. Dad was the king and the leader
- 28:12of the house. And so, you know, everything was
- 28:15about getting his attention, not
- 28:18After we have these kind of brief introductions to Kolleen
- 28:22and Steven, we get a shot of Maddie outside with Logan and
- 28:28Aspen. And they're clearly taking a
- 28:30break from their manual labor to
- 28:34the producers. And Maddie says that she does
- 28:37not want to live polygamy, but
- 28:40She says that she supports her
- 28:42They're good people. And as she's starting to talk
- 28:45about this, the tears are welling up in her eyes.
- 28:49And I'm like, oh, God, girl. And she says if these kids had
- 28:53been raised the way they should have been, they would be happy.
- 28:57And she's getting all emotional.
- 28:58And I'm like, well, you know, it's actually nice to see Maddie
- 29:05move me, but I don't know. Yeah, You can tell she's just
- 29:09overwhelmed. She goes, it's disgusting what
- 29:13And that she understands why they don't see the good side of
- 29:17polygamy and they've never had a chance to see the good side.
- 29:22She says that a few times, which he is disgusting.
- 29:27And she says that she had more support than a lot of other kids
- 29:34that, you know, in a monogamist family, she thinks she might
- 29:37have had less support because of all of the people in her
- 29:40polygamist family. In between these Maddie sound
- 29:44bites, Nicole talks about living in her car when she escaped the
- 29:49polygamous compound or wherever she came from.
- 29:52Now Nicole is a fellow Kingston's person like Kolleen.
- 29:56While she was 16 when her dad
- 29:59tried to marry her off and so she ended up leaving and her dad
- 30:06would not accept it. And the only way she got her dad
- 30:09to accept that she left is that she was 22 and she got married
- 30:13to an outsider of the church and
- 30:18That's right. So the only way that she would
- 30:20get her dad to leave her alone
- 30:26is over. Is she married an outsider?
- 30:29She's currently 22 so I don't know when she got married, she
- 30:32had to have gotten married very young If her dad was trying to
- 30:36marry her off at 16. And then now she's 22 and has a
- 30:39kid. I don't know.
- 30:41Like it's just really sad. She basically fled a marriage
- 30:45with probably some creep that was way older than her just to
- 30:50go off and marry to escape that life anyway.
- 30:55Obviously it's better she got to
- 30:58she wanted to and is happy with.
- 31:01But still, it's like, what a shitty way to have to like,
- 31:05flee. It's just sad.
- 31:07Yeah. And then she talks about how
- 31:10basically all of her friends were physically, sexually and
- 31:13emotionally abused like all of her close friends.
- 31:17And she makes a comment that she thinks there's probably a lot
- 31:22going on in Aspen, Logan and Maddie's parents marriage that
- 31:30And I really thought that was a good observation on her part.
- 31:37Like these kids seem very naive about polygamy and I'm sure that
- 31:45parents behind closed doors as they shouldn't.
- 31:48Like I don't think any child should know if their parents are
- 31:58kids, not your problems. Yeah, it was an interesting
- 32:01bullet point because I think that she's right.
- 32:05But I agree that it's like, well, what should they be
- 32:10entrenched in their parents problems?
- 32:12Like that doesn't make any sense either.
- 32:13So it was kind of an odd place for me.
- 32:16Yeah, because these kids are so used to seeing all of the shit
- 32:28smoke. Like there's got to be some sort
- 32:32Yes, yeah, yeah. And we do find out that, yeah,
- 32:46Am I smelling smoke? Maybe I'm just having a stroke,
- 32:48you know, that kind of thing. Not sure.
- 32:50To Nicole, the smoke would be the fact that there's polygamy
- 32:56There's got to be fire somewhere.
- 32:57The smoke is already here, and it's polygamy.
- 32:59Totally that that makes sense. Carrie has a little moment where
- 33:07people are that are fleeing the FLDS, and she says that Suzanne
- 33:12was so scared of anybody when she got out that she had trouble
- 33:18I can see that because they thought they were all evil.
- 33:21I can see that Suzanne has a, oh, I don't want to say the word
- 33:29Totally soft spoken and kind of that shoulders pulled in and
- 33:33timid, timid, yeah, like not looking anyone in the eye, kind
- 33:37of never looking anywhere kind of thing.
- 33:38And it's like, OK, girl. Like yeah, definitely the cult
- 33:43Yes. For sure.
- 33:45Absolutely. Yeah, but she seems very sweet.
- 33:47And she's actually really cute
- 33:49too. Like she seems like a very sweet
- 33:51girl. Yeah.
- 33:53Oh, keep sweet. I shouldn't have said that.
- 33:55Poor God, she seems like a sweet
- 33:59But then, yeah, well, the keep
- 34:01Dang well. It's just like me, just like
- 34:03you, we keep sweet. You know, ask my husband about
- 34:07it. Yeah, I know, right?
- 34:09Anyone who's ever spent more than 5 minutes with me and
- 34:11they'll agree. Sweet.
- 34:13At this point, we get a little
- 34:16kids are introduced to Christy, who runs a host family home.
- 34:21So I'm a little unclear. Once again, they didn't really
- 34:24do a good job of setting this up
- 34:26So I'm going, were we priming and painting Christie's home to
- 34:30have people move in? Did we prime and paint another
- 34:32home and now Christie's home is a different home and they're
- 34:34moving things in. It's hard to know.
- 34:36And also we don't really know that they're moving things in.
- 34:39This is just because we've watched the episode.
- 34:40So I know that they do. This is the problem.
- 34:42They they're not giving us any
- 34:45It's weird. So we go to the house and
- 34:50Kolleen is talking about how she
- 34:55it's basically, yeah, like a hosting family that takes in
- 34:59the kids and like the one offs that escape, not the families.
- 35:06And. Yeah, you know, like the, you
- 35:08know, the stragglers, the ones
- 35:12And yeah, Kolleen is talking about how her house family is
- 35:17her real family now and that she
- 35:19And she now has a real dad and a
- 35:24and that's amazing for her. And so I think that they bring
- 35:27us to that house to show like what a house family is.
- 35:30That makes sense. Yeah.
- 35:32And then I think that the house that they're fixing up and
- 35:35moving furniture into is probably, and like, don't quote
- 35:41me on this, but I think it's Suzanne's family because they
- 35:44talk about moving her mom's. Her mom's stuff.
- 35:46That's right. Yeah.
- 35:47OK. So I really wish they would have
- 35:48clarified this because for some reason, the way that you're
- 35:51saying it is totally makes sense.
- 35:53I think Christie is Kolleen's host mother, her mom.
- 35:58And she refers to her as her mom
- 36:00And I did find that to be a little like, oh, OK.
- 36:03Like, I don't know at what age
- 36:09people that are caretakers, caregivers.
- 36:12Yeah. Because she's 17, but is she 17
- 36:15at filming? I don't think so.
- 36:18So. She's like 19 now.
- 36:20I don't want to nitpick at it,
- 36:22follow and I blame Putty, Uncle Monkey, Puddle Puddle Monkey
- 36:27Productions because it's like,
- 36:31us a little clearer of a breakdown?
- 36:33Yeah, they don't. I guess if I was just casually
- 36:35watching it as I was scrolling
- 36:37care. So like, to be fair, it's all
- 36:40right. But Kolleen's host family's home
- 36:43is where we're at. Christie's her mom and Kolleen
- 36:46gives us some further background
- 36:51history. She said that she would only see
- 36:54her bio dad for holidays, birthdays, and occasionally at
- 36:58church. Not sure that Kolleen with a
- 37:01cake told us how many wives or
- 37:04We just know he's an elder, so
- 37:07far and wide. Yeah, we don't hear about that.
- 37:11We find out later about another one.
- 37:14Yeah. Oh God.
- 37:15Yeah, she, God, she says that her dad was like the king of the
- 37:19house and that when he would come over they had a glass ass
- 37:22plate and nice dishes just for
- 37:26And they got the shitty like plastic, whatever throwaway
- 37:31stuff that we always talk about,
- 37:33Yes, the landfill. So yeah, she would see her mom
- 37:36basically roll out the red carpet for her king of a father
- 37:40every time he came, and she resents it for sure.
- 37:44Even the way that she was describing it has those heavy
- 37:47vibes of like angst and aggression.
- 37:49And it kind of like you could have described this without
- 37:53being so kind of whatever. But she does paint a picture.
- 37:57She paints a picture and it's not a cute 1.
- 38:00And it reminded me of the whole thing with Robyn.
- 38:05And it's like undertone of polygamous slash, overtone
- 38:08slash. What it is that when the husband
- 38:10shows up, he is number one. You're in the house.
- 38:14I'm going to. Oh, it's all about you, honey.
- 38:17We love you. You're so amazing.
- 38:18You walk on water like you don't
- 38:21home because you only get him so
- 38:25you. Yeah, you don't have to lift a
- 38:27finger when you come here, darling.
- 38:29And that's why, you know, Kody
- 38:32having issues with Christine. I've been probably Janelle too,
- 38:36but primarily Christine is like,
- 38:40expect you to show up and be a
- 38:41And he's like, excuse me? Like, I can go to Robyn's and
- 38:44just kick my feet up on the couch, you know?
- 38:48Oh, yeah. I just can't even imagine as a
- 38:51young child seeing your dad come
- 38:59that is the head of the household and mommy is getting
- 39:03out the nice things that only come out when he is there and
- 39:07how warped that would make your mind.
- 39:12And I think that's why she is like these.
- 39:17This is my mom and this is my dad.
- 39:19I think it's easy when someone
- 39:26situation as a child for them to
- 39:31from someone. So even though she's only known
- 39:34them a short period of time, they've shown her compassion and
- 39:37love. And so yeah, like she's the.
- 39:40Unconditional love that she didn't get from her parents.
- 39:44I think she actually says that.
- 39:46Yeah, there is a splice up here in between Kolleen with AK's
- 39:51bullet points where Logan says he and Maddie don't want to live
- 39:58And so this is I think where Kolleen kind of we get her first
- 40:15Yeah. And, you know, we get Maddie,
- 40:18who says, I couldn't handle it, I wouldn't like it.
- 40:21And then they look at Aspen and she's like, well, I want to do
- 40:28polygamist. And then they just kind of go in
- 40:35older person it was but they make the comment.
- 40:39Well, how would you feel if you know he had?
- 40:42Sharing. Sharing your husband so even one
- 40:52they do say you guys are handling this like pros, like
- 40:55they say that they give them their props.
- 40:57So don't want to like, you know, but Aspen literally is kind of
- 41:05vibes. She's just kind of like, I mean,
- 41:10And it's like, Oh my God, like how do you answer these
- 41:13questions? But also if you're going to have
- 41:19She's also like 16 or 17. Yeah, she's like, I haven't even
- 41:26don't know, like I literally wrote down IDK like she's like I
- 41:31don't know. She's getting asked like this
- 41:33serious question and she's thinking about it for the first
- 41:36time, right? She's like, so confused.
- 41:38Totally. And Kolleen with AK, Oh my gosh,
- 41:42she's like poor Aspen. She's brainwashed.
- 41:48Brainwashed. She says to Aspen.
- 41:53I think you're going to get screwed over.
- 41:54Yes, honestly, I think you're going to get screwed over.
- 41:59These statements are so dramatic.
- 42:01And she says, she says again, I think you have to be dumb to do
- 42:05it. And then Maddie says, well, I
- 42:07don't think my parents are dumb.
- 42:09Right. She's so aggressive.
- 42:11Yeah, it's just kind of like. And these kids do do a great job
- 42:21it called? Like eat it up or do you know,
- 42:25And I would be all like, listen, bitch, I'm not dumb.
- 42:28And it's like, OK, well, just consider who you're listening to
- 42:36let Aspen do this because she is pretty young and she's not very
- 42:44assertive, like in general. So to put her in a situation
- 42:49where she's got to defend polygamy, it's like that's why
- 42:56put on your child to defend your choice like that.
- 43:00And now here it is. And she's like.
- 43:04Totally. Like I'm caught.
- 43:05I'm caught in the headlights. I don't know.
- 43:08Gosh. As the scene continues, they are
- 43:14So this is where you put the pieces together.
- 43:17Before I did that, this home that they were painting, it's
- 43:20probably for Suzanne's family because they're moving in
- 43:24different items. And the first one that we get
- 43:26drawn attention to is a computer, like a desktop CPU
- 43:30component, like the box. It's definitely old school, but
- 43:34there's like a sticker on it that almost looked like as a
- 43:38pin. Like I feel like it had depth
- 43:40but then. Like Pedro Pin.
- 43:41But when they peeled it off, it was just a sticker.
- 43:45At first, it looked like a pen. And it has Warren Jeff's face on
- 43:51Warren Jeff's stickers are put on everything.
- 43:53They're put on many things because we're to pray every time
- 44:02saviors behind bars, so they're supposed to pray for him
- 44:05and pray for themselves. Because nobody believed it and
- 44:12just tearing the family apart and against their church and.
- 44:15It was so creepy. I can't remember what the saying
- 44:21one of those stupid, like one of those weird culty phrases.
- 44:24And I just was imagining being in an environment where we've
- 44:29seen footage of the FLDS compounds as the prophet of the
- 44:34FLDS. His portraits are everywhere and
- 44:41school, he leads them in prayer.
- 44:42He's just like everywhere. So to have to constantly be
- 44:45praying to this prophet, this human, just gross, gross.
- 44:51And then we move on from the CPU, from this old computer to
- 44:57Suzanne's mom's headboard. Well, first they go and there's
- 45:01a bunch of school desks and they're having to peel the
- 45:03stickers with like, paint. What are those?
- 45:07Scrapers. Scrapers.
- 45:09And they're having to peel Warren Jeff's face and these
- 45:11stickers off of multiple desks
- 45:17And Maddie says she thinks it was cathartic for them to be
- 45:21peeling these stickers off. Like, it probably felt pretty
- 45:23good. It was a nice thing for them to
- 45:25be doing. Liked it, Fair enough.
- 45:28And Suzanne said that she was devastated when she found out
- 45:32who Warren really was. Right?
- 45:35Like when she came to terms with
- 45:41that it was real. She was devastated.
- 45:45She was raised that he was the
- 45:50to God really and. She said it makes you question
- 45:53everything, like everything you ever thought was real, like
- 45:57you're questioning your reality.
- 45:59And this is when we see Suzanne's mom's headboard.
- 46:04Being brought in, it's like white and arched.
- 46:10It's an arched wooden headboard. Painted white and on it it says
- 46:17keep sweet on the top and on the bottom it says dreams.
- 46:21And they discuss this idea, the notion of keep sweet.
- 46:24And I go a little like, Oh, cod, Oh cod, because, you know, we
- 46:28have keep sweet moments on this show and I try to like I don't
- 46:37thing and the vibes, but really like keeping sweet is.
- 46:41It's dark. Really really dark.
- 46:43Especially have like on your headboard.
- 46:44Oh my God, an adult woman's headboard.
- 46:47Very dark. It's basically a way for them to
- 46:54there's something wrong with you.
- 46:56And if there's a fight between the kids, Suzanne says that they
- 47:05yourself, keep it inside, shut up and act nice, keep sweet.
- 47:09And then the same thing with the moms, which is why it's on her
- 47:18you? Keep sweet.
- 47:19It's a manipulation tactic. And it was something that they
- 47:22would say specifically to the girls and children.
- 47:26Friendly reminder to leave us five stars in a friendly
- 47:28compliment. A review.
- 47:30A review that we would love to
- 47:32Make sure to keep sweet out there.
- 47:34I think of Sweet Honesty, the perfume from Avon.
- 47:38It was a perfume that they had
- 47:41Probably smell like baby powder.
- 47:44Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can picture the bottle.
- 47:46Oh my God. Then this is where the children
- 47:50decide just out of nowhere, out of the goodness of their hearts,
- 47:57Kolleen to come and meet their family, along with the two other
- 48:02other adults, of course. But yes, they want them to come
- 48:06and meet their family, and they think it's a good opportunity
- 48:10for them to see that polygamy can actually be a good thing
- 48:15still. After two days of helping, that
- 48:17was the only note that I took was that they helped these
- 48:19people out for two days of painting and moving furniture
- 48:22and answering their questions and being berated home for their
- 48:29Maddie says that she was concerned Kolleen would show up
- 48:33with a bad attitude. Yeah, and be antagonistic.
- 48:36Which I don't know why she would think that.
- 48:38I don't know why at all. But Maddie asked her to keep an
- 48:43open mind. Tanya and Carrie, the two adults
- 48:51won't validate them and won't recognize the abuse that's
- 48:55actually going on. Yeah, that.
- 48:56They won't even validate it at all.
- 48:58Like Nope, Nope, Nope, Nope, Nope.
- 49:00Yeah. So they have their own concerns
- 49:02about it and they are obviously going along.
- 49:05This is like their charity that, you know, they run, but they
- 49:09kind of have taken like a backseat this whole time, piping
- 49:18Yeah. So the group arrives, they show
- 49:22them inside of the Browns home. And Kolleen and Suzanne say that
- 49:34original homes with, like, all of the chaos and the noise.
- 49:38And I feel like that would be triggering if you'd been out of
- 49:43that quite a while. Especially in Kolleen's
- 49:46situation. She is the only person that left
- 49:52And to be going into a home that is chaotic and noisy and kind of
- 50:09Suzanne, so, you know, they both were identifying in some manner.
- 50:12But definitely Kolleen with AK
- 50:17Janelle says that Kolleen is hell bent on being everything
- 50:21that's not plague. Not plague.
- 50:25Well, Janelle clocked her. It wasn't.
- 50:28It wasn't that hard to clock, right?
- 50:30Yeah. And this is where they're where
- 50:33Stephen is asked about his situation and we get a little
- 50:36more detail, of course, not very
- 50:39Was the question posed to him why he left, or was it why he
- 50:43was kicked out? Why he was kicked out?
- 50:46Yeah, so he must have volunteered that he was kicked
- 50:48out or something. Yep, he said that he was kicked
- 50:50out and I think Kody, one of the
- 50:55Why would you be kicked out? And he says that he went out one
- 50:59night and that it wasn't the most common thing for him to go
- 51:01out, but that he stayed out until 2:00 AM.
- 51:05And so his father said you're out of here and kicked him out
- 51:09of the house. OK, So what does a boy without
- 51:12interest or personality do till 2:00 AM?
- 51:14Maybe stargaze. I don't know, like maybe cow
- 51:17tip? Cow tipping.
- 51:19Cow tip. I I don't know.
- 51:22I'm not, you know. OK, so let's assume he's a St.
- 51:25and he never did anything and then he just randomly stayed out
- 51:27till 2:00 AM for no reason. Then that, yeah, it's an extreme
- 51:31reaction. It also reminds me of how
- 51:34there's that whole exodus of boys.
- 51:37I was just. Going to say they find any
- 51:39reason to kick the boys out. Absolutely.
- 51:41They don't give a shit. Can't marry those boys off in
- 51:43the same way you can your daughters.
- 51:45No, it's another mouth to feed.
- 51:46As far as they're concerned, yeah, they can give a helping
- 51:50hand until a certain point. And then when they're supposed
- 51:56No one's going to approve their marriages, right.
- 51:58Even the ones that find somebody that they want to marry, the
- 52:03girl ends up usually being taken away.
- 52:05And no, you can't marry someone that you want to marry.
- 52:08You're already going to marry this man that's 20 years older
- 52:11You're. Being you're being assigned by
- 52:15So I have a feeling that it's one of those things.
- 52:19He just any reason to kick him out?
- 52:22Sure. Yeah.
- 52:22You're out of here. You don't respect my rules.
- 52:25Get out. It's awful.
- 52:27So Kolleen says that she was shunned her whole life and she
- 52:44Child devil child devil child does whatever devil child does.
- 52:50Well, you know she says which
- 52:52your dad is kind of the devil,
- 52:56I'm curious what Kolleen with the K did for to elicit such a
- 53:02response from people. It must have been her friendly
- 53:05disposition, her warm and welcoming way of speaking.
- 53:10So I have a feeling that this kind of has been going on her
- 53:15whole life, Like she said that
- 53:18than the other girls, she didn't
- 53:23a little girl. She was maybe wild.
- 53:27And then when she left at 15 and
- 53:32got shunned and was told all of her siblings were probably told
- 53:35nobody can talk to her. She left, she's a devil's child,
- 53:39nobody can talk to her. And that's probably when she
- 53:41really got shunned because the
- 53:48FLDS and a woman that fled, she talks about when she would try
- 53:54to run away and get drugged back.
- 53:56Each time she got drugged back, it was worse and worse.
- 53:58And her whole family was told that they couldn't talk to her.
- 54:01And she was like, I was a ghost in my own home.
- 54:03Literally, people would turn their backs, ignore me, talk
- 54:07about me like I wasn't there. It was like I was a shadow.
- 54:11And so I have a feeling that she
- 54:16even worse than when she was there as a child.
- 54:20Like, that is so awful and harmful to your psyche.
- 54:25But yeah, she says. They started calling me a devil
- 54:28child, but my dad kind of is the
- 54:33And does she have respect for her father, honey?
- 54:36Oh no, she has no respect for that man and wants to blow him
- 54:39up. Blow him up.
- 54:41I want to. Blow him up.
- 54:44That's some strong language there, Kolleen with AK.
- 54:47She wants to sound so intelligent and she wants to
- 54:50like come across as imposing and
- 54:54people, but she doesn't have the
- 54:57intelligence yet. And I'm not saying she's stupid,
- 55:00I'm just saying she hasn't gone probably through any sort of
- 55:04proper education to know what to
- 55:10to use. And so she says things like I
- 55:13want to blow him up. And it just shows that she's
- 55:19stuck in this mentality of a 15 year old.
- 55:22Absolutely. The language she uses is
- 55:25alienating to someone who isn't even a polygamist.
- 55:28Like, listening to her is just
- 55:31And I want to have empathy for
- 55:34I want to, you know, hear about her experience in a way that
- 55:37isn't so brash and, like, hard
- 55:41She just doesn't know how to do it.
- 55:42She's going the complete opposite way, just like what
- 55:45Christine said, because she's rebelling and rejecting anything
- 55:51that had to do with her previous
- 55:53And I, I get that, you know, like I'm sure that that's part
- 55:57of the process of getting out of
- 56:00anger that comes with it and whatever, but it just comes
- 56:04across. It's the.
- 56:05Process that they refer to, I said deprogramming.
- 56:08Yeah, deprogramming. I thought that's the term.
- 56:12There's an opportunity for Kody to jump in.
- 56:14They've got him on the couch, and he's talking about, of
- 56:16course, now how he feels about
- 56:20And he says he feels like it's
- 56:26How do I make it better? I'm like, oh, God, Kody, Jeez,
- 56:32Kody, when was the last time you
- 56:34anybody? There's a tinge of like, of
- 56:37course, this is all about you,
- 56:41You know, it's just. Him and Robyn always have to
- 56:45bring it back to themselves. Taking up space, I feel like I.
- 56:47Need to shoulder this responsibility.
- 56:51Right, I'm going to be a father figure to this girl.
- 56:53Shut the fuck up. You're not even a father figure
- 56:56to most of your children. She doesn't need that from you
- 56:58dude. To Lulu, Very.
- 57:01But yes, you're right, Robyn gets to make it all about her
- 57:03later. And here we've got Kody, making
- 57:05it all about him. These two are insufferable.
- 57:07Like for real they're. Truly magic.
- 57:09They're the people's coupled. Tanya does take a moment during
- 57:13some discussion to clarify that they help people that are both
- 57:15escaped the cults and who are still in it.
- 57:18And of course Christine has to
- 57:20home. And it's like Christine, shut
- 57:22the fuck up. Like, Oh my God, if you talked
- 57:25about everything you didn't know, we would never hear the
- 57:27end of it. Just I don't know why Christine
- 57:30gets under my skin so much. Of course they help people that
- 57:32are out and of course they would
- 57:34in and want to get out. Like hello.
- 57:37Or maybe if they aren't prepared
- 57:39out, you still might need things.
- 57:41I think that what she means here is that they help people who
- 57:44want to stay in their religion but want to be in a healthy like
- 57:59completely out of polygamy. When Tanya's saying no, we do
- 58:02help people that still like, want to be in their religion but
- 58:09An example could be picking up Leon and making sure that Leon
- 58:16Get Leon to be a doctor. Let's make sure Leon's a doctor.
- 58:23makes sense. OK, good.
- 58:24God bless, yadda yadda yadda. Suzanne shares a little bit more
- 58:27about her story. Got me in the heartstrings.
- 58:31And she says that her father was
- 58:34Now, you know, a little vague on
- 58:39father was told you need to leave and go repent.
- 58:42We do get a little bit more after this.
- 58:45So I'm sorry if I sound a little
- 58:47about? He said he was leaving and that
- 58:49they were to forget about him. Can you imagine?
- 58:53And then he basically packed up his shit and just drove away.
- 58:56And she said something, you know, like, he just drove out of
- 59:00And it was just like, oh, God.
- 59:04considered Warren Jeff's children.
- 59:06Warren Jeff is now your father.
- 59:08But because our prophet is in prison, you will be given a
- 59:13caretaker. God.
- 59:15Here, Tigger. Now, what's funny is when I was
- 59:18saying something to you about this, I was referencing this new
- 59:27The False Prophet, which recently came out on Netflix and
- 59:34yeah. Getting a lot of attention, a
- 59:36lot of the other Sister Wives podcasters, they're doing a
- 59:39little coverage on that and I hope that they're giving it
- 59:42justice. It blew up like Kolleen's death.
- 59:47Oh my God. So I was just making a joke
- 59:51about how they talk about caregivers in this Netflix
- 59:55documentary. They're constantly talking about
- 59:56caregiver, caregiver, caregiver.
- 59:58And you were like caretaker. And I'm like, oh God, it is
- 1:00:02caretaker. It's not even caregiver.
- 1:00:03Yeah, they're like Undertaker. God, it's like, why are we
- 1:00:07saying caretaker? Oh God, so many things that are
- 1:00:10just not right. Yeah, it's awful.
- 1:00:13So Suzanne was told by her father that her family would be
- 1:00:17given a caretaker because the prophet who's now their father
- 1:00:23Yeah, this is all two months before her and her mother and
- 1:00:28siblings flee the caretaker. To Salt Lake City.
- 1:00:32So this all happens within a 2 month period where Suzanne's dad
- 1:00:40to go and repent. Taken those directions from the
- 1:00:45prophet in prison. Suzanne's family, when they
- 1:00:48escaped to Salt Lake, are connected to Tanya and that's
- 1:00:51how they are now being housed and helped.
- 1:00:54Yeah, she's like, we literally fled through the backyard and
- 1:00:57jumped the fence and went to a neighbor to ask for help, and
- 1:01:01they ended up giving them Tanya's information and the name
- 1:01:10So insane. And can you just imagine with
- 1:01:13all the kids, I think how many siblings does she have?
- 1:01:169 or something? A lot, yeah.
- 1:01:19And as a mom, if and people always are like, why didn't they
- 1:01:28kids would have been taken or kept.
- 1:01:31And I, as a mother, cannot imagine leaving it like one
- 1:01:38child behind. You know what that life is like.
- 1:01:44behind there? And I know people end up having
- 1:01:47to do that, but just such an awful thing to even think about.
- 1:01:51Good Lord, jumping over a fence and running away because you've
- 1:01:55got a caretaker, basically an undertaker watching over you.
- 1:01:59And God knows what that person's
- 1:02:02And how awful that person is. Yeah, the idea of fleeing your
- 1:02:06own home, the other examples I
- 1:02:10occupation, recent things with
- 1:02:15and just kind of these larger organizational backed by
- 1:02:19government things. And so the idea of fleeing your
- 1:02:23own home because of this cult situation, it just, I don't
- 1:02:30know, it's just so icky. It gives me the XXXX.
- 1:02:32The fact that anybody can call
- 1:02:36is, blows my mind and it's just truly appalling and shocking
- 1:02:41that people are living this way.
- 1:02:43It seems like it's made-up or like a.
- 1:02:45Story from back in like. Oregon Trail days, you know,
- 1:02:47like the way that they dress. It's like, what is going on?
- 1:02:51So the next morning we're at Janelle's house for breakfast.
- 1:02:58pancakes and sausage or something.
- 1:02:59And I was like, I need to make pancakes soon.
- 1:03:01I love pancakes. They weren't having their like,
- 1:03:04weird Cream of Wheat mock, tapioca mock.
- 1:03:06Tapioca, No way, we're not Christine's.
- 1:03:08They were Janelle's. So having breakfast, blah blah
- 1:03:14and some of the kids for this lovely breakfast for this brunch
- 1:03:23stuff, which I thought was an interesting example because I'm
- 1:03:26going, did Janelle ever make breakfast?
- 1:03:29I mean, she might have made these pancakes.
- 1:03:31Might be more likely that even Hunter made them, but maybe Kody
- 1:03:37Maybe they put Nicole to work. They were like Nicole.
- 1:03:40Guests make breakfast. Yes, we would flit from kitchen
- 1:03:43to kitchen to get what we needed.
- 1:03:45This mother sharing everything except for the kitchen.
- 1:03:49But. Like snow borrow.
- 1:03:50Things from the kitchen We all know that Janelle was abused by
- 1:03:54Meri in the kitchen so. I know, that's why I'm like, OK.
- 1:04:00finding out that Meri beat the
- 1:04:02kitchen. Janelle's like, I would just
- 1:04:04walk over to Meri's and grab things like, yeah, no wonder
- 1:04:08Meri beat the shit out of you.
- 1:04:10No wonder Meri was a little harsh with you, but whatever.
- 1:04:14Now, I didn't know that it felt like the dinner the previous
- 1:04:18day. They were laying it on a little
- 1:04:20thick. Kody was going over to each wife
- 1:04:23and making sure to give them the
- 1:04:26very obvious to me and it felt like they were putting on a
- 1:04:29show. Now we've got Janelle pretending
- 1:04:34They were just swapping spatulas.
- 1:04:37Yeah, just swapping their spatulas, swapping cups of
- 1:04:42sugar, acting like Snow White. Meanwhile, the episode before,
- 1:04:51OK, sounds good. You know, there is an overall,
- 1:05:02great and Kody's a great dad and everything's fine.
- 1:05:06I just keep picturing them trying to be like Disney movie
- 1:05:14Shoulders, there's no white. Is that what you said?
- 1:05:15Yeah. That's what I'm imagining like
- 1:05:20Beautiful morning at Janelle's house.
- 1:05:23With the broom. Just like the three wives going
- 1:05:30back and forth between the kitchen singing that.
- 1:05:35Song God, I love that. That's what I imagine.
- 1:05:37That's so good. Especially Janelle.
- 1:05:39Like right girl, right? But you have to imagine them all
- 1:05:45it. And then Robyn's over somewhere,
- 1:05:49Oh my God, like the hunter? No, Yes, straight up.
- 1:05:53Coming to cut their hearts out.
- 1:05:56Oh, Jesus. Nicole tells us that her moms
- 1:05:58never got along. Now this is so crazy, so crazy.
- 1:06:03Shocking.
- 1:06:04She's asked, well how many moms did you have?
- 1:06:06And she said 2727 and I was like, did she just say 27?
- 1:06:11And. None of them got along.
- 1:06:14None of them got along and I went JFC, which is short for
- 1:06:20Jesus fucking Christ, what in the world 27 moms?
- 1:06:25But then she says a real banger.
- 1:06:27What was that banger, honey? Oh my God.
- 1:06:29It was a banger. She says that they basically are
- 1:06:40And all of the moms were having a fight for the attention of the
- 1:06:46And so they're pitted against each other and it's like
- 1:06:50prostitution. They're being prostituted out to
- 1:06:53get the attention of their husband.
- 1:06:55And I have to agree because all of the girls are worth so much
- 1:07:00in the FLDS and they're selling them off to the highest bidder.
- 1:07:06How can we get closest to Warren
- 1:07:09Which one of our daughters is going to catch his eye and get
- 1:07:12us in favor with him? And you better keep sweet or
- 1:07:17we're going to kick you out because we can't fall out of
- 1:07:19favor with the Prophet. Who's in prison?
- 1:07:22Yeah. And to add on to what Nicole
- 1:07:24said at the beginning of her quote, I think it's just control
- 1:07:27freaks trying to get power. So like the power element is
- 1:07:32what you're talking about. And then this whole prostitution
- 1:07:34call in totally makes sense. It's just like so bizarre to
- 1:07:39hear someone talking about that with their mother mothers, but
- 1:07:43there's 27 of them. So I'm wondering in my mind
- 1:07:45going, how many children was Nicole surrounded by on a
- 1:07:49constant basis? I'm wondering what their setup
- 1:07:52was, right? Like to have 27 mothers.
- 1:07:55I mean, if they were an individual homes, you would
- 1:07:58never even see all of their homes.
- 1:07:59I mean, it's so weird to think
- 1:08:03have been. There really probably would not
- 1:08:06be 1 and it would just be whoever the man felt like giving
- 1:08:09attention to at the time and the
- 1:08:13attention. And she says that she felt like
- 1:08:17she didn't ever have a mother because it was not about the
- 1:08:21kids, it was about him. It was about the father and
- 1:08:25getting his attention. And she had 27 moms but never
- 1:08:31had a mom. That would be so crazy. 27 moms
- 1:08:35and to never feel like you had
- 1:08:38It's really a sad and awful. Because when you think about a
- 1:08:4027 moms and then the way that these people reproduce, I mean,
- 1:08:42we're talking about like a town,
- 1:08:47village, not just an expression,
- 1:08:51municipality. Fucking insane.
- 1:08:53And how do you deprogram all of those people and be like, your
- 1:09:00And that's when you get these deadpan staring, you know, men
- 1:09:11aren't women for them, right? And they get kicked out to the
- 1:09:17The Lost Boys. And the really sad thing about
- 1:09:25And even their moms that flee, they when they take their sons
- 1:09:32And it's because that's what they saw and that's what they
- 1:09:37were taught. And I think that the men and the
- 1:09:43in all of this because you're thinking about, like, the
- 1:09:46molestation and rape of these girls when, you know, there is
- 1:09:51this other horrible dark side of it that now you're bringing
- 1:09:55all of these, like, boys out onto the street that were taught
- 1:09:59that women are not equal to them and they're, quite frankly
- 1:10:04dangerous. But they're also needing
- 1:10:07guidance and needing to be deprogrammed.
- 1:10:09And like, this is this whole other dark side of it, right?
- 1:10:14It's really fucking weird. Yeah, that's such a odd two side
- 1:10:22do need the deprogramming, but also that they are going to
- 1:10:25default to being terrible to women because of their
- 1:10:28upbringing. It's like, Oh my God, like, how
- 1:10:31do you help these people? Well, and then the moms are
- 1:10:34taught that you know, they're less than men.
- 1:10:37So then they escape and they've got their boys with them.
- 1:10:41And I read a story where the mom had two teenage boys and they
- 1:10:46were abusing her. And the person that got her out
- 1:10:50of the FLDS was like, you have to report them to the police.
- 1:10:54They are not going to learn unless they sit in jail.
- 1:10:57And they have to learn that they can't treat women like this out
- 1:11:01here. And it was really hard for the
- 1:11:07It's just so backwards, like all the way around, yeah.
- 1:11:12Well, on a brighter note. Anyway.
- 1:11:15Kody Kody. Kody tells us that it gets hot
- 1:11:24inspiration and a thought leader.
- 1:11:27Yeah, he's like the sun in Teletubbies just coming up in
- 1:11:30the morning. Guess what guys?
- 1:11:36It gets hot here in the desert
- 1:11:39go to Mount Charleston to escape
- 1:11:44Now, what's funny is I guess we're all supposed to surmise
- 1:11:46from this that Mount Charleston is up in the sky and shaded and
- 1:11:51there must be trees and it's. 20
- 1:11:53Something. Yeah, he says.
- 1:11:55Oh, he did actually tell us. I.
- 1:11:56Think he did. Oh, thank you.
- 1:11:58Yeah. And that it's cooler there up in
- 1:11:59the mountains. But first we have to tour all
- 1:12:02the. Homes.
- 1:12:03Oh yes, we got to bring these.
- 1:12:05These four visiting young adults
- 1:12:08in four different houses, once
- 1:12:11it in on thick. We're not all in a compound.
- 1:12:14We're in four different houses, which it's like you're also
- 1:12:17saying that you don't like, but you're going to use to
- 1:12:19demonstrate that you're not so
- 1:12:22All right, Kody. It's a little weird because they
- 1:12:24talk about how the moms are so
- 1:12:29they're like, well, we're not like that.
- 1:12:30We all love each other and we're
- 1:12:32Oh, but we live so differently.
- 1:12:34Let us let us show you our four homes.
- 1:12:36I don't know. Yeah, the logic isn't logicing.
- 1:12:40Agreed.
- 1:12:40Agreed. They start at Christine's house,
- 1:12:42which is funny because we go on this tour, we don't even need
- 1:12:45to get to go to all four of the houses.
- 1:12:47So they're teeing up that they're going to do this with
- 1:12:49them. I think we only see two of their
- 1:12:50houses. Classic for this fucking show.
- 1:12:54So Christine's house they start and the 1st place we get to see
- 1:12:58is whose bedroom darling? Who do we get to see their
- 1:13:01bedroom? Mikkelty God.
- 1:13:08Mckelty. This room.
- 1:13:10Oh, that hurt my throat. And that's such a great way to
- 1:13:13say Mckelty. God, this room.
- 1:13:15If only again, I was thinking,
- 1:13:18And we've only begun our journey
- 1:13:22This is what's so great. We're in Season 5.
- 1:13:24We've only gotten a little taste, a little touch of
- 1:13:28Mckelty. It looks like a hoarder's house
- 1:13:31where she should be wearing a tinfoil hat and sitting in a
- 1:13:35chair with a cat rocking back and forth.
- 1:13:39But also organized horde because
- 1:13:44walls every square inch. Of the wall.
- 1:13:46I'm sure she would call it art.
- 1:13:48Yes. The walls are covered in paper,
- 1:13:50you guys. Design, design.
- 1:13:52She's a designer. Remember, she's a world renowned
- 1:14:00room to really express who she is within an inch of its life.
- 1:14:09Claustrophobia is all I would feel if I was in that room.
- 1:14:12Literally there's not a space to look at that wasn't covered in
- 1:14:20walls with doodles than Robyn's doodles of jewelry, but not by
- 1:14:29there's a heart made out of paper.
- 1:14:31Yes, and it's gorgeous. And Kody just thinks it's the
- 1:14:35best, most creative thing he's ever seen.
- 1:14:37He loves it and I feel like the heart might have also
- 1:14:40incorporated pictures of their family.
- 1:14:42Inside of the heart, yes. Paper on top of paper on top of
- 1:14:46paper. A lot of paper.
- 1:14:48I like that you called them doodles.
- 1:14:49I was going to call them Sketches Honey because she is a
- 1:14:53world renowned fashion designer in the making.
- 1:14:55All I have to say is please don't ever light a candle in
- 1:14:58your room, Mckelty. Nothing flammable in that room.
- 1:15:01Holy Moses.
- 1:15:02Every square inch of that wall
- 1:15:04It was a lot, but when I say this, what's funny is that she
- 1:15:08really did attempt to try to have it be like a design.
- 1:15:11Like there was a Mckelty method to the madness.
- 1:15:14It wasn't just like she threw a bunch of shit everywhere she
- 1:15:16was trying. It's like what the inside of my
- 1:15:19ADD brain probably wants to look
- 1:15:24I don't know. We've got a special insight now
- 1:15:28when you're like Chris, my ADD's
- 1:15:30oh, I know what's happening. It's and imagine flashing
- 1:15:33through all of those pieces of
- 1:15:35in my mind. You're like, I have the perfect
- 1:15:37sketch over here and I'm like,
- 1:15:38God, the idea on the tip of my
- 1:15:41Is it the high or low On which
- 1:15:43Was it near a window? Is it in the heart?
- 1:15:44Oh my God, A lot happening in Mckelty's room.
- 1:15:47But you know, she's a creative.
- 1:15:49You got to give it to her. She is.
- 1:15:51There's something about that girl.
- 1:15:53She's fucking nuts. And then the only other home we
- 1:15:57get to see on our tour of four homes is Meri's home, and it's
- 1:16:05shoes, one in each house, because you know, some of these
- 1:16:07things he's got to have four of because you know he's running
- 1:16:09every morning. He's an athlete, star athlete,
- 1:16:13Got to have the same pair of four running shoes in each house
- 1:16:20house. At one of the houses, I don't
- 1:16:22know whose, he points out his favorite photo, and guess what
- 1:16:30this is my favorite photo. It's a family photo.
- 1:16:33He goes, this is my favorite photo.
- 1:16:35It's at Robyn's wedding reception.
- 1:16:38Yeah, yeah. It's a photo of Robyn's wedding
- 1:16:41reception. Tell us how you really feel
- 1:16:44about the family. Well, it's when their family
- 1:16:47became whole, honey, and that's HOLE, not WHOLE.
- 1:16:51But the fact that he describes the photo as Robyn's wedding
- 1:16:57reception is the weirdest way to describe that photo.
- 1:17:01Not like, oh, this is a family photo.
- 1:17:05This is the first family photo we all took together.
- 1:17:08And that's why I love it. When the gaping hole joined the
- 1:17:11family instead, it was Robyn's wedding reception.
- 1:17:14And it's a gaping hole, and it's not a round hole, it's a square
- 1:17:20one, because their jaw hit the ground on its way down.
- 1:17:24Giggity. Giggity.
- 1:17:25Quagmire's face, but it's Robyn. Oh, it's crime against humanity.
- 1:17:31more on Robyn coming up. Don't worry, we're it's not like
- 1:17:33Robyn's getting away with nothing on this episode.
- 1:17:35She's not getting away with anything.
- 1:17:37Now everyone's getting ready to hit the road.
- 1:17:39They're all going to hit the road.
- 1:17:40And of course they have to play.
- 1:17:42They're like, Oh my goodness, chaotic music.
- 1:17:43Oh, we're getting in the cars. Kody.
- 1:17:46I got a scene over here and I'm like, of course he's in the
- 1:17:49fucking copper convertible, the Meri Kay convertible.
- 1:17:52At some point, they do talk about jealousy.
- 1:17:55Suzanne talks about jealousy with, I think it's Janelle a
- 1:18:00little bit before they're, like, getting in the cars.
- 1:18:03And Janelle admits to, you know, situations where there could be
- 1:18:08jealousy. And then Suzanne, in a clip of
- 1:18:16perfect and that neither is polygamy.
- 1:18:19Right. And I was.
- 1:18:21I felt like that comment was odd because jealousy exists in many.
- 1:18:27Right now, Right. So just because they're saying
- 1:18:29polygamy isn't evil doesn't mean
- 1:18:31perfect. Yeah.
- 1:18:32So once again, a little bit of a disconnect therefore.
- 1:18:34Looking for a chink in the armor I believe.
- 1:18:37Oh yes, yes, absolutely. So everyone's getting ready to
- 1:18:43wherever the fuck they are outside of Las Vegas where
- 1:18:45they're cooling down in the summer, which is great.
- 1:18:48Mount Charleston. Mount Charleston.
- 1:18:50And Christine says it doesn't seem like Kolleen was having a
- 1:18:57And Kolleen is literally like giving daggers.
- 1:19:00Like she's just looking like someone say something to me.
- 1:19:04I dare you. Is someone going to talk to me
- 1:19:09Cheerios this morning? How come I wasn't invited to the
- 1:19:15house. Well, that wouldn't be a bad
- 1:19:17breakfast. Robyn's.
- 1:19:18What? If she had breakfast at Robyn's?
- 1:19:22tart and I can't even put it in a toaster for you.
- 1:19:26I made these eggs in the microwave.
- 1:19:28I hope you like them, they're a little runny.
- 1:19:30I hope you like over microwaved eggs.
- 1:19:33You got to eat it with a knife
- 1:19:34Like, Oh my God, Rob, like beef jerky.
- 1:19:37Yes, it's like beef jerky. Throws the whole egg.
- 1:19:40She's sitting there like, who's going to come at me?
- 1:19:43Who's going to talk to me? And you know, Kody, he's got to
- 1:19:47show up like the man he is and
- 1:19:50shell, try to RIP open the crust
- 1:19:54He's got to shoulder this responsibility of all these baby
- 1:19:57chicks. This is it.
- 1:19:59He feels it. He feels it is his destiny, his
- 1:20:02destiny. And so he starts to try to crack
- 1:20:06that shell, that hard shell around Kolleen.
- 1:20:09And she responds in kind by saying, would you say being a
- 1:20:13good father is one of your ultimate goals?
- 1:20:15Because she's trying to, you know, kind of yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:17I see what you're doing here. And I'm going to give you a
- 1:20:19hardball. I'm going to throw you this
- 1:20:21curveball. And he goes, yes, yes, from the
- 1:20:24very beginning, that's my thing.
- 1:20:26And I went having an aneurysm because flashing to the future,
- 1:20:32he is A1 of America's most notorious reality TV.
- 1:20:37Horrible fathers, a huge reputation for being a bad dad,
- 1:20:43Ignoring, neglecting and straight up shunning his
- 1:20:47children, requiring apologies for things that don't require
- 1:20:50apologies, and an ass hat who is not spoken to by many of his
- 1:20:54children. So for him to say that from the
- 1:20:57very beginning, it was one of his ultimate goals to be a good.
- 1:21:01Is insane. He also says that he would never
- 1:21:05kick anyone out of his family and if anyone would get kicked
- 1:21:08out of the family it would probably be him.
- 1:21:09Right. OK.
- 1:21:11This is so season 5 Kody. This is so not season 15 or
- 1:21:15season 20 Kody. Because he's saying here, like
- 1:21:17he's talking about the shunning and whatever, and he's like, I
- 1:21:21could never do that to anyone in
- 1:21:25Any of my children. And then Kolleen is telling Kody
- 1:21:29she just doesn't think that it's
- 1:21:31Like, it's not fair to the kids to have this many wives and
- 1:21:37like, have this many kids. And I just find that interesting
- 1:21:40because she makes that comment
- 1:21:42fair. And then that's when she goes,
- 1:21:43like, do you want to be a good
- 1:21:47Right. And it's just like she knits,
- 1:21:50she knits, she knits that together, she hits the nail on
- 1:21:53the head with it without even realizing, like.
- 1:21:58It's it feels like it's low impact, but it's not.
- 1:22:00Yeah, the beginning of that question where she says that
- 1:22:03she's like, I don't think that
- 1:22:05Like to AKA the wives and kids, whatever.
- 1:22:11What she's basically getting back to here is the fact that
- 1:22:15there's not enough dad to go around.
- 1:22:17And she doesn't, you know, browbeat him after his response
- 1:22:19or anything. She's not trying to, like,
- 1:22:21really tear him down. She's been a little smart alecky
- 1:22:24about her approach, but fitting,
- 1:22:28Disney optimistic response, which is not the truth.
- 1:22:31It's just his TV persona for now.
- 1:22:34Right. Fucking asshole.
- 1:22:37We realize that Aspen and Maddie
- 1:22:41Where did Maddie go? Where did Aspen go?
- 1:22:44Yeah, they've been missing for a
- 1:22:46little worried here, and I noticed that they've gone off
- 1:22:49with Suzanne. Oh.
- 1:22:50God, where did they go? Where, where, Where?
- 1:22:53Have my daughter's? Gone.
- 1:22:54I'm wondering what they're doing.
- 1:22:55Oh, look here. They return over the Crest at
- 1:22:58Mount Rushmore and they're coming down the hill.
- 1:23:01Look at that, George Washington's wives.
- 1:23:03They've they've gone back in time and they've returned to
- 1:23:08current day in their FLDS garb, their Prairie dresses.
- 1:23:13With the bouffant hair. They've got the bouffant hair,
- 1:23:18I was wondering if she wiped away that makeup that she slept
- 1:23:20in for five days as you referenced.
- 1:23:22And I don't know, it seemed like she still had some makeup on.
- 1:23:26But yeah, they're wearing the Prairie dresses and they're
- 1:23:28wearing the hair, and they look straight out of A Little House
- 1:23:34corner, out of the woods of the deep dark woods.
- 1:23:39Yes. And the family says that it's
- 1:23:42shocking and makes them sad. Yeah, makes them sad to see the
- 1:23:46girls like that. And Suzanne says this is as
- 1:23:50shocking for them as it is for her mom to see her in her like
- 1:24:00which is very tame and nondescript everyday clothing.
- 1:24:09to see you in street clothes today, she'd probably be like,
- 1:24:14something. Janelle gets emotional.
- 1:24:17You know, everyone's starting to to feel the feels seeing the
- 1:24:20kids like this. I would freak out.
- 1:24:22Maddie and Aspen like this. I mean, it was.
- 1:24:24I don't say it was jarring. I think it was a little
- 1:24:27insensitive. I if Suzanne hadn't have been
- 1:24:29with them when they did this, I would have been like, this is
- 1:24:32insensitive and awful. Insensitive to who?
- 1:24:35To the FLDS members. To the survivors that are
- 1:24:39escaping. That are there with them OK.
- 1:24:40Like, this is like a joke or something, right?
- 1:24:42Like, oh, it's a costume that we're putting on.
- 1:24:45Yeah. It was a little out of touch
- 1:24:48with reality for me. Like we're talking about people
- 1:24:51that have survived domestic violence, sexual abuse and
- 1:24:54beatings, and we're just going to come around the corner
- 1:24:59dressed like this. It was in bad taste.
- 1:25:02I think it was in bad taste. I can see that.
- 1:25:04And I think the only reason you're right that it wasn't for
- 1:25:08me is because Susan had gone like they were in on it, like it
- 1:25:15production pushing this? That's where I'm like, I doubt
- 1:25:23yeah I can help with the hair because Bitch knows how to do a
- 1:25:27bouffant after all these years. It's insensitive.
- 1:25:30Like we know it wasn't her idea and if she hadn't have been at
- 1:25:40That would have been yeah, yeah, she.
- 1:25:43Would have been like running into the woods herself like.
- 1:25:47Trauma, trauma, trauma. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:25:50OK, I didn't quite connect those dots, but I I see what you're
- 1:25:52saying. Well, and I think that's part of
- 1:25:57And it moves Janelle to tears in their confessional moments on
- 1:26:01the couches. Yeah, you're like, Oh, my
- 1:26:03daughter is in like sexual assault attire.
- 1:26:06Sexual assault attire. Janelle gets emotional and
- 1:26:11starts crying because of what these dresses symbolize.
- 1:26:13Yeah, like the stereotypes and all of these things, but not
- 1:26:17only the stereotypes that their family endures, but what these
- 1:26:25God, as much as they want to pretend like on the couch, Kody
- 1:26:29wanted to start off this whole endeavor of them meeting with
- 1:26:33these people and see the bad side of it, but yet not see the
- 1:26:36bad side of it. Because not all polygamists are
- 1:26:39like that. But yet here you are and it's
- 1:26:42like, OK, if you see your daughter dressed like that and
- 1:26:53Which is the vibe I got. I'm like, well then there you
- 1:26:57go. There you go.
- 1:26:59That's what's wrong with this. 100 Where does this fit in here
- 1:27:03with Meri's reaction being like, listen, this doesn't mean
- 1:27:07the thing. Like it doesn't mean that if
- 1:27:10someone wore the dress that they're a victim.
- 1:27:12It doesn't mean. And it's like, you know, I can
- 1:27:21Like we give Robyn some credit for that or we give her some
- 1:27:24whatever word you want to say, but Meri's really the one that
- 1:27:36Kind of makes sense. Yeah, she's like, it's not fair
- 1:27:38to say because they wear the dress, they are all this way,
- 1:27:41right? And it's like, bitch, we're not
- 1:27:43saying the people that wear the dresser all this way.
- 1:27:46That's not the thing here. That's not the issue.
- 1:27:49Oh God. It's the men in power.
- 1:27:52I know what the dress represents.
- 1:27:54It's messy, messy, messy, and production in this entire
- 1:27:58episode really doesn't help us clean up anything.
- 1:28:01And I'm so mad at Puddle Monkey right now because it's like, you
- 1:28:07Yeah, we had to decipher the storyline.
- 1:28:08And even just explaining this thing about Meri like they
- 1:28:12didn't even give like that would have been a nice sound bite for
- 1:28:15to have any backup on that. But no, instead she just looks
- 1:28:21square jaw nuts face. Who's even crazier, Robyn?
- 1:28:24OK, so all the adults are on the couch and you know, we
- 1:28:30Janelle's, you know, oh God, it's so terrible.
- 1:28:32And Meri's like, is it really terrible?
- 1:28:34We can't assume that. And then Robyn's like, hold on
- 1:28:42does this performance. I want to hear a positive story
- 1:28:46then. I because Meri's saying, you
- 1:28:47know, like it doesn't mean that it's negative.
- 1:28:49And then for some reason, this triggers Robyn into making it
- 1:28:52all about herself. Oh yeah.
- 1:28:54I want to hear a positive story and I haven't heard one yet.
- 1:28:58Like OK, I was in an abusive relationship.
- 1:29:02I was abused. I was abused.
- 1:29:06People kept giving him the benefit of the doubt.
- 1:29:09You have to give people the room to change.
- 1:29:13But sometimes when you don't see the hard truth, it continues to
- 1:29:19happen. And that's what happened to me.
- 1:29:23It's like, Oh my God.
- 1:29:25It happened to me. It happened to me.
- 1:29:28I know, first of all, I was not doing Robyn's voice at all, but
- 1:29:31the idea that this is somehow OK, I'm trying to let's let's
- 1:29:37try to help her out here. I think she's saying that she
- 1:29:40hasn't heard a positive story about the people in the dresses.
- 1:29:43Like every. Dresses, she says.
- 1:29:44Well, I want to hear a positive story about them then
- 1:29:47referencing the FLDS. Right.
- 1:29:49And she hasn't heard one. Yet, and I haven't heard a good
- 1:29:51story yet. OK, and now that would have
- 1:29:53actually been an OK place to end
- 1:29:56to Meri, you want to talk about how this isn't negative.
- 1:29:58I haven't heard one positive thing but instead she goes down
- 1:30:02this long crazy Rd. Of talking about how she was in
- 1:30:05an abusive relationship and that
- 1:30:09the doubt and that she wasn't given the benefit of the doubt,
- 1:30:12but then for some reason needs
- 1:30:15room to change. Yeah, and whether or not they
- 1:30:18are good people or not, this is happening.
- 1:30:21Right. Look, it's just what I just
- 1:30:23following. It was it was as hard as it was
- 1:30:26to follow what just happened here on this podcast.
- 1:30:28It makes your eye twitch, Yeah.
- 1:30:30And you're literally like, you're trying to say something.
- 1:30:35What are these?
- 1:30:37What are this? What are this?
- 1:30:39What are this you are saying to me?
- 1:30:41Because I do not know what this is.
- 1:30:44Also, when they're showing everyone else in classic Robyn
- 1:30:48Brown, you know, diatribe, speech, fashion, everyone is
- 1:30:52just kind of looking like no one's consoling her.
- 1:30:55They're so. Uncomfortable.
- 1:30:56They're just looking around like, what do we even say?
- 1:30:59Because they're not following either.
- 1:31:01They're just like, OK, so she's upset about something now
- 1:31:04again, and it's abuse. Well, you can tell Kody's
- 1:31:07looking at her like he wants to console her, maybe, but also
- 1:31:11that he's a little shocked. I was abused.
- 1:31:15I was abused. OK.
- 1:31:20This is the first time she's coming out and saying that.
- 1:31:23In a previous episode, I said she's playing battered woman
- 1:31:26syndrome about her debt. This woman, and I am not someone
- 1:31:34that's going to be like, oh, you're not a victim.
- 1:31:36I don't believe women when it comes to her and her
- 1:31:41performances that she puts on.
- 1:31:45battered woman syndrome that I
- 1:31:48It's like you are the reason that women aren't believed.
- 1:31:53Go and kindly fuck yourself like
- 1:31:59Agreed. Now, this is not the kind of
- 1:32:01podcast where we would just repeat rumors.
- 1:32:03No, no, no, no, no, never. But I have a little birdie from
- 1:32:08the Internet told me that realistically, with her
- 1:32:13ex-husband, there's all this like, confusion about the debt
- 1:32:16and the financial situation and the whatever.
- 1:32:19And according to some unnamed sources on the Internet, which
- 1:32:22you can't believe and I would never believe, apparently she
- 1:32:27rung up a lot of debt and was given money.
- 1:32:31Her family. Were given money by his family
- 1:32:36to correct these financial. Paid off so that they could buy
- 1:32:39a home. And then she spent all that and
- 1:32:45then eventually they did get divorced because he couldn't
- 1:32:47deal with this any longer. He like, lost everything.
- 1:32:50He lost everything including his
- 1:32:54of the story is that he was abusive and all these things and
- 1:32:57you remember he sure reports on it to sit in front of a space
- 1:33:00heater 1 winter. God.
- 1:33:03I mean, it's so weird to talk about these things because like,
- 1:33:05I don't know. I don't know that I can't put my
- 1:33:06hand. On children are like old enough
- 1:33:08that they would be able to speak
- 1:33:12and defend their dad. I think he's scared to say
- 1:33:17anything. I think his kids basically got
- 1:33:19stolen from him and he was like forced to sign away rights to
- 1:33:25them by letting Kody adopt them.
- 1:33:27And I think it was probably really all an awful experience
- 1:33:41truly a good person just trying to live his life.
- 1:33:44Most people want nothing to do with the press.
- 1:33:47A normal layperson that just wants to live their life and
- 1:33:51like have their children in their life would not want
- 1:33:55anything to do with any of that. And so he stays away from it for
- 1:34:08negative ones, by her, her lies, her made-up crap.
- 1:34:11If he's remarried and has new kid, not new kids.
- 1:34:14If he's remarried and has other children, whatever.
- 1:34:16Whatever life he's trying to live now, he has the right to do
- 1:34:24ex-wife in ways that he isn't. I wonder if he was asked to even
- 1:34:29Regardless of that, he's not obligated to, and if he doesn't
- 1:34:32want to, that's that. Like, yeah, here's another part
- 1:34:34of it. He was told when he signed to
- 1:34:37the adoption papers that there would be terms to the adoption
- 1:34:43And that happened for a little while.
- 1:34:47And after adoption papers are signed and somebody signs their
- 1:34:51rights away to like children unless it literally says in the
- 1:34:56adoption agreement something about visitation which I don't
- 1:35:01Why would you take your children to be with someone completely
- 1:35:05abusive and horrible that actually did abuse you after?
- 1:35:09They don't have rights to their child, their rights to see them.
- 1:35:15child from an abuser, even if they didn't abuse your children,
- 1:35:18if they abused you, that's abuse
- 1:35:22saw it, they were there, whatever.
- 1:35:23As far as I'm concerned, if you abuse a mother.
- 1:35:25Bring your. You're abusing your.
- 1:35:27Kids, non adult children to go
- 1:35:30she does. Why would you do that?
- 1:35:31Stay for like, I don't know, weeks in the summer or some
- 1:35:33shit. Like girl.
- 1:35:36It's just. She's a liar and a frog.
- 1:35:38Shit. She's a liar and a.
- 1:35:39Frog she is. And it's it's actually
- 1:35:41disgusting to me to put a man in
- 1:35:44in that situation, whether it be a man, woman, they, them,
- 1:35:48whoever it is. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:35:50It's fucked up. Yeah, and it's wrong.
- 1:35:52And she should be ashamed of herself and she's not.
- 1:35:54She's a shameless whore. She is shameless.
- 1:35:57And it's it's it's a challenge
- 1:36:00we're only going, we're coming
- 1:36:04Robyn lies about on a TV show.
- 1:36:08on the Internet that might not
- 1:36:10So it's like, what do you even
- 1:36:12And I hate to be that person. I don't want to be that person.
- 1:36:15I don't want to be like someone that's denying somebody's abuse
- 1:36:20and like their reality and whatever.
- 1:36:23I truly do think that when you
- 1:36:29confuse your own reality and at some point that becomes your
- 1:36:34reality. And so maybe she's twisted this
- 1:36:37narrative in her mind that these
- 1:36:43abusive, whatever that. Means to her.
- 1:36:46Yeah, whatever that means to her.
- 1:36:48Believes it. Yeah.
- 1:36:49Yeah. Maybe him trying to control
- 1:36:52money was abusive to her, you know, like we don't know what
- 1:36:55she means. She.
- 1:36:56Spent him into the poor house and he was like please stop
- 1:36:59spending money, no. I'm not hiding packages in the
- 1:37:02shed from you and sneaking him
- 1:37:05work, darling. I have to sit my son in front of
- 1:37:08a space heater. Well stop buying shit bitch.
- 1:37:12Pay your e-mail OK. Anyway, after that.
- 1:37:15Sorry about all that you guys.
- 1:37:18You come here for the truth and what a hard.
- 1:37:21Truth and nothing about the truth.
- 1:37:23Whatever we just gave you, it was near that so.
- 1:37:26Opinions and nothing but. Opinions.
- 1:37:28Yeah, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly.
- 1:37:30I, you know, we got to pass it
- 1:37:33allegedly, allegedly, allegedly.
- 1:37:34I just passed it through legal and they said we're in trouble,
- 1:37:38we better get on our knees behind a Pew and pray.
- 1:37:42I'll wear my Prairie dress, honey.
- 1:37:45And will you give me a bouffant? You know how I like it.
- 1:37:50Yes. The higher the hair, closer to
- 1:38:03her ponytail and one of the other wives takes the ponytail.
- 1:38:07Because what they do is they
- 1:38:09tease these pieces of hair, or
- 1:38:12their brushes and they put it under the bouffant to make it
- 1:38:15bigger. So this girl cuts off her like
- 1:38:18ponytail in defiance and the other wives like go crazy over
- 1:38:22it and take the ponytail so that
- 1:38:24bigger. Oh my God, sorry.
- 1:38:27Side note, it's fucked up. It's so crazy how that is so
- 1:38:31easy to believe. It is like, it sounds nuts, but
- 1:38:35I'm like, yeah, totes. I mean, they did it like back in
- 1:38:38the 17 or 1800s, they would take
- 1:38:41brushes and use it to like pad their wigs and shit.
- 1:38:44And that's like literally what
- 1:38:47Totally. It makes sense, even though it
- 1:38:49doesn't make any sense. Back to our story, back to this
- 1:38:54episode back. To the Browns.
- 1:38:56Back to the Browns, the Brown family takes Tanya, Carrie and
- 1:39:00the kids to dinner. La, la, la, la.
- 1:39:02I don't think did we care about any of the details from dinner.
- 1:39:05Literally nothing happens there.
- 1:39:06And I just noted that they go to a Mexican restaurant.
- 1:39:09Again, that's their like go to. We love a Mexican restaurant.
- 1:39:13We love a Mexican restaurant. Where they probably order the
- 1:39:16blandest food available now. After this dinner, the teens go
- 1:39:20to get ice cream and the parents go back to visit with
- 1:39:24Tanya and Kerry at Meri's house.
- 1:39:26When the teens go to get ice cream.
- 1:39:28Now you know, I didn't catch the
- 1:39:31I don't know if it was, you know, like cruising Hwy. 101 or
- 1:39:34whatever the other place was. They love an ice cream parlor,
- 1:39:37these guys. They love their hoops, the the
- 1:39:39poodle skirts, the greased hair.
- 1:39:41That's another huge thing for Mormons though.
- 1:39:43They don't drink coffee or drink, so they have soda.
- 1:39:46Shops, soda shops, Soda shops. Soda shops, you're right.
- 1:39:49Ice cream parlors for these guys.
- 1:39:51So Kolleen with AK says before coming here, I thought you were
- 1:39:57fake. I thought you were putting.
- 1:39:59On I. Thought you were just putting on
- 1:40:03bitches. She's like, I thought that you
- 1:40:09everybody. Well, turns out they were
- 1:40:11putting on a show. But you know, when you were also
- 1:40:20Somewhere in between. Yeah, exactly, Suzanne says.
- 1:40:22I don't think you're perfect, but I think you're doing a good
- 1:40:26job. I thought, you know what Suzanne
- 1:40:31She's great. I'm going to put a little heart
- 1:40:33next to her name in my notebook.
- 1:40:35I find her endearing, just like I find Christine endearing.
- 1:40:38They no. I wouldn't go that far, but.
- 1:40:41Christine. Christine hasn't been through
- 1:40:43all this shit, obviously. No, she's.
- 1:40:46But not aware. I find it promising for her that
- 1:40:51she's been out of the FLDS for
- 1:40:57she's doing well and able to speak to people like this as
- 1:41:02coherently as she does. And she actually does one of the
- 1:41:05little girl's hair, one of Christine's.
- 1:41:08Savannah, Savannah. She's got a bun in and she's
- 1:41:11like. Yeah, and she does.
- 1:41:14She does her hair and she's like, oh, how old are you?
- 1:41:16And she's like, oh, you're a year older than my youngest
- 1:41:18sister. And she's a good person.
- 1:41:23And I think she's going to have a good life ahead of her.
- 1:41:25And I'm like happy that she is
- 1:41:28And she's one person. I'm curious like.
- 1:41:32Where are they? Where are they now?
- 1:41:34Right, Like VH1, let's do a special cut to Meri's house
- 1:41:38where we've got Tonya and Kerry visiting with the parents.
- 1:41:42And Christine says she didn't know if Tonya would try to take
- 1:41:46her kids away because of the indoctrination and fear of
- 1:41:49outsiders. In the past, Christine was a
- 1:41:51little fearful of Tanya. You know Tanya heads up this
- 1:41:54nonprofit and big old scary Tanya my.
- 1:41:57She's heard some things about Tanya this.
- 1:41:59Is it the rumor mill? The rumor mill.
- 1:42:01Oh my gosh, I was a little worried.
- 1:42:03With hoping, holding hands or whatever.
- 1:42:06Helping, holding hands, hoping
- 1:42:11Hoping for help. Helping for hope.
- 1:42:13Hoping for hoping hands. Oh no, don't you look at us for
- 1:42:18facts. Oh God, this is rich.
- 1:42:21Holding out Herp, holding out help.
- 1:42:24Holding out help for Robyn's herpes.
- 1:42:27For the Herblerp, we're holding out her hope for the Herblerp.
- 1:42:30Pulpit hold out for Herblerp. So Christine is scared of Tanya
- 1:42:35Tanya's like little old mean. I was like, Oh my God, Tanya's
- 1:42:39given, whatever her name is, her
- 1:42:43little old me. So yeah, Tanya's definitely
- 1:42:48rocking that vibe. Now, this is where we're going
- 1:42:50to get a Christine moment. And I know you're like, oh, you
- 1:42:53know, Christine, she's naive and
- 1:42:57And I'm going, Christine's naive
- 1:43:01fuck. I thought everyone in polygamy
- 1:43:04was like us. So this is it.
- 1:43:06We're coming to the couch. Sorry.
- 1:43:07Once again, I'm getting ahead of
- 1:43:10spotlight moment with all the adults, and they're zoomed in on
- 1:43:13Christine and she's talking about how you know Tanya and all
- 1:43:16the things and the men of polygamy.
- 1:43:20I thought everyone in polygamy
- 1:43:24I didn't know that men could be bastards.
- 1:43:28I didn't know. I didn't know that men could be
- 1:43:33such bastards. I didn't know with the tears in
- 1:43:41her eyes and her nose as red as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
- 1:43:45Yep, he didn't know before her
- 1:43:51about these men. These men now, okay, so
- 1:43:55Christine polygamist, royalty,
- 1:43:59was murdered by her other grandfather when he was the
- 1:44:01prophet and blah blah blah. And he gave he gave birth, he
- 1:44:06pulled a baby out of her vagina or whatever.
- 1:44:09Christine is a Pretty Little Princess and she doesn't know
- 1:44:12anything around her. Did she not know she used to do
- 1:44:15PR? She was a spokesperson for some
- 1:44:18sort of public relations thing
- 1:44:21She knew she is a liar. Yeah, this is weird.
- 1:44:24She plays the whole like, I just
- 1:44:27And it's like, bitch, you knew.
- 1:44:29You knew. And she double s down by saying
- 1:44:32there are common threads amongst these different groups,
- 1:44:34but there are vast differences between the polygamous sex and
- 1:44:40In her world, all the men were just walking on water.
- 1:44:43Meanwhile, she's with a husband who neglects her, her children
- 1:44:50blessing and use it to control women and to control people?
- 1:44:53And she taught children at one point.
- 1:44:56I mean this it's just. I think that she just lives in
- 1:45:05back up to the clouds and then she's in ignorant bliss for a
- 1:45:10while again and then sometimes she gets struck down.
- 1:45:12It's like, I don't even know. Yeah, I would definitely
- 1:45:16capitalize, italicize and bold ignorant in that sentence, yes.
- 1:45:21But she says earlier on when
- 1:45:25she's talking to Tanya, she was scared that they were going to
- 1:45:27take Aspen. She wasn't just scared that they
- 1:45:31were going to take her family.
- 1:45:33far fetched. Like she knew they couldn't come
- 1:45:35for her family in Las Vegas, but
- 1:45:39there that Aspen might not come home.
- 1:45:42Yeah, like, Oh my God. And I'm like, OK, you would not
- 1:45:45have actually let her go if you,
- 1:45:47Like, I would never let my child
- 1:45:51inkling they might not come back
- 1:45:54There's not a fucking snowball's
- 1:45:56And then Tanya says that this whole experience has been
- 1:46:00healthy for her and her business
- 1:46:06see. It's been healthy for them to
- 1:46:08see a different example, a different side of polygamy than
- 1:46:12what they usually see. Right.
- 1:46:14One staged for television. Yeah, basically.
- 1:46:17And oh, the Browns, you know, we
- 1:46:20bastards. And then they go back to the
- 1:46:23kids. I didn't know that men could be
- 1:46:27such bastards. Bastards, she says.
- 1:46:31It is breathy, yes. I'm looking right now like
- 1:46:39Janelle looks when Robyn's talking.
- 1:46:40I'm just like. Yeah, we wrap this whole thing
- 1:46:43up with the kids that have escaped from the horrible sects.
- 1:46:49That's ice cream. Shooby Doo.
- 1:46:50They're the ice. Cream parlors.
- 1:46:54They are. Does he love me?
- 1:46:55I want to know. And the kids say that they think
- 1:47:01that Kody is actually a dad and it's shocking that they have
- 1:47:04found a polygamist that's also a
- 1:47:08Yeah, Nicole says she has respect for Kody because he's a
- 1:47:11dad and a husband. They couldn't believe it.
- 1:47:14He does pull the wool over people's eyes.
- 1:47:15Oh, yeah. I mean, I don't remember that
- 1:47:17realizing that he was so terrible when I first watched
- 1:47:20the show. So you know.
- 1:47:21No, I just thought he was not bright.
- 1:47:25I thought he was showboat like
- 1:47:27didn't think it was because he
- 1:47:29terrible husband and father. I thought he was just in
- 1:47:33uneducated. Like an oaf.
- 1:47:35Oaf, yeah, for sure. That's what I always.
- 1:47:37Totally, totally. Kolleen with Aki thought all
- 1:47:41polygamists were stupid, but now
- 1:47:46dad. OK, She just doesn't know how to
- 1:47:50express herself. And I hope that she's learned
- 1:47:54how to express herself better than this because I think she
- 1:47:57could truly bring a lot to this charity.
- 1:48:01And I think that if she really
- 1:48:04happened to her, she'll be able to help other people.
- 1:48:08But until then, she will actually drive them back towards
- 1:48:13the religion because they're going to be scared of that's
- 1:48:17everything that we don't want.
- 1:48:21out and see. Yeah, she probably alienated
- 1:48:24plenty of people. Oh, yeah.
- 1:48:25But now I think the reason that we're also caught up on it is
- 1:48:27because Kolleen with AK is, I think I can tell that she's
- 1:48:31smart enough to get this. She can wrap her mind around it.
- 1:48:33She could correct this course.
- 1:48:36this was a long time ago. Maybe today she's more like,
- 1:48:39listen, I have actually been able to like put these ideas out
- 1:48:43and, and phrase things and you
- 1:48:46The concussion that I had from
- 1:48:51My hair is flat again. Oh.
- 1:48:53God, what is her hair color today?
- 1:48:55I got some therapy. I'm therapized.
- 1:48:58Therapized. Yes.
- 1:48:59Kolleen with AK reach out to me.
- 1:49:01Yeah, send me Adm slide into my DM.
- 1:49:03You know, I'm going to tell you I, I, there's one picture that
- 1:49:10We were a lot of love, like probably in some ways.
- 1:49:14Well, maybe, yeah, maybe you should slide in the hair.
- 1:49:16Maybe you should slide slide. I slide into Kolleen's DMS well.
- 1:49:21into each other's DMS and share old photos, swap old stories.
- 1:49:25Yeah. We do close up the episode with
- 1:49:27Maddie telling us that if Kolleen and her had met under
- 1:49:30other circumstances, she thinks that they would be friends and
- 1:49:33I agree. I agree they have.
- 1:49:35Like they do they have similar
- 1:49:38You know, they did have this like energy towards each other
- 1:49:41during it that they both wanted to prove their sides of things
- 1:49:45to each other and not in a malicious way, but in like a I
- 1:49:50got you a girl kind of way, like
- 1:49:54You could tell that they felt like kindred spirits with each
- 1:49:57other and so they wanted to help
- 1:50:01of view. They also both had hair, makeup,
- 1:50:04looks. They rock a look.
- 1:50:08They rock a look. They rock an attitude.
- 1:50:10Oh, God, I'm giving them. They have a look.
- 1:50:13They have an attitude. And yeah, I think I agree with
- 1:50:16everything you're saying. Well, we made it through this
- 1:50:18episode. Now you guys, it is funny
- 1:50:21because I don't know, hopefully we made you chuckle at least
- 1:50:23once or twice, because it was.
- 1:50:26It was a little heavy. It was heavy.
- 1:50:28And we like to keep it light around here.
- 1:50:30We like to bring you the facts
- 1:50:34And this episode is a little heavy.
- 1:50:36And we were. Unfortunately, we did have to
- 1:50:38delve into the gossip a bit. The rumor mill and the gossip.
- 1:50:41Yeah. That rumor mill?
- 1:50:43All alleged. Alleged.
- 1:50:45Alleged. I mean, you can't quote us on
- 1:50:46any of this. It's all a fever dream.
- 1:50:49Did you even experience? Don't sue us for our millions.
- 1:50:52Oh yeah, we're so rich. You, you're waking up now from a
- 1:50:55fuzzy dream. Oh, it's all WAVY.
- 1:51:00And then you woke up just in time.
- 1:51:03You woke. Yes, you woke up just in time
- 1:51:06for mustard seed and shit stain,
- 1:51:09You know what? Ladies first, I respect women
- 1:51:13and so you. This is the one time.
- 1:51:16Please bless us with your mustard seed for this week.
- 1:51:19I'm going to give my mustard seed to Maddie.
- 1:51:24Good one. Because I think that she had
- 1:51:27very good intentions. It all goes back to the
- 1:51:30intentions for me. I don't know.
- 1:51:34She went into this thinking, OK,
- 1:51:39She even said like while they were in the car.
- 1:51:42I'm not scared of the work we're
- 1:51:45I'm scared of the people we're
- 1:51:48She I hit it off with one of them in like a weird way that
- 1:51:52you could tell that her and Kolleen were vibing and they
- 1:51:57just wanted to like teach each
- 1:51:58And I think that that happened
- 1:52:02of them. And I don't agree with wearing
- 1:52:08dresses, but other than that she
- 1:52:12Yeah, I think my mustard seed.
- 1:52:18sometimes when people want to give mustard seeds to inanimate
- 1:52:21objects or a passerby character.
- 1:52:23But I do want to give my mustard seed to Suzanne because am I
- 1:52:30allowed to? I think so.
- 1:52:32I actually really love her. I agree, I think she had salt of
- 1:52:41like a serial killer? Oh my God.
- 1:52:43Well, I don't know, Suzanne, if you're able to, if you're able,
- 1:52:45if you're still out of the cult and you can hear us right now,
- 1:52:50Send a good vibes your way. I'm going to give you my mustard
- 1:52:57grow because you seemed endearing.
- 1:52:59And I'm happy that her family's out of the situation.
- 1:53:04And she spoke with a lot of candor, especially given that
- 1:53:07she probably at the time had a
- 1:53:12emotional understanding of things.
- 1:53:13And so kudos for showing up and giving us some love.
- 1:53:20I don't know. She still had a personality.
- 1:53:22She saw the fire about her. She still had something that was
- 1:53:25like. A fire.
- 1:53:28Well, I mean, like there is a little like spark there still,
- 1:53:32right? Like she wasn't like the other
- 1:53:33guy who is like dead behind the eyes, right?
- 1:53:36And that's not his fault. I'm not saying there's nothing
- 1:53:39between the ears. Poor Steven.
- 1:53:41I'm not saying that. I'm just like.
- 1:53:43You've hated on Steven this whole she.
- 1:53:45Well, he's good. I should stand.
- 1:53:50Yeah, no, thank you for backing me up because I'm struggling a
- 1:53:52little bit to even define it. I just.
- 1:53:53No, I just think that she has something special about her in
- 1:53:58the sense that she didn't let this horrible situation kill her
- 1:54:02spirit. And even just the moment where
- 1:54:05her and she was doing Savannah's
- 1:54:09conversation with a little girl,
- 1:54:12this good person that just needs some nurturing and have an
- 1:54:19education and learn and grow. And thank God her mom is giving
- 1:54:23that to her. Thank God her mom saw that the
- 1:54:27situation was wrong and got her kids out of it.
- 1:54:31And I think that a lot of these people escape on their own or
- 1:54:37in pairs. And the fact that her mom got
- 1:54:41all of her children out of that,
- 1:54:46mom. I can't imagine how hard that
- 1:54:48was. Keeping the keep suite
- 1:54:49headboard. A little fucked.
- 1:54:52Up. Well, we'll see where that ends
- 1:54:53up, you know. What would you do?
- 1:54:54It's like you don't want to get rid of all your shit.
- 1:54:56Well, this you need a headboard.
- 1:54:57And how old is her mom? Serves as a reminder of some
- 1:55:01things. Yeah.
- 1:55:01Yeah, Suzanne, you get my mustard seed and you've earned.
- 1:55:05It and Suzanne, if your mother
- 1:55:06still has that headboard and if she's not with us if she is,
- 1:55:11please take it out into the woods and burn it take off all
- 1:55:15your clothes and run around that
- 1:55:18best fucking life and charge your pussy by the moon do it
- 1:55:22just. Do it burn and burn.
- 1:55:25Burn the headboard and charge the pussy.
- 1:55:27I don't even know. I've never done that.
- 1:55:29Apparently you can charge your
- 1:55:32I don't know. I need your pussy and you let it
- 1:55:34like look at the full moon and I
- 1:55:36That I knew about the sun with
- 1:55:39pussy, Yeah. With the moon though.
- 1:55:41With the moon, yes. Mother Luna.
- 1:55:44Mother Luna. Give my pussy the power that it
- 1:55:47has. So, you know, shit stain.
- 1:55:52The shit stain is going to go to
- 1:56:00deep statement about saving these people from the FLDS and
- 1:56:07how we shouldn't give the benefit of the doubt to these
- 1:56:11horrible people because it's doing a disservice to the
- 1:56:14victims. Which is what she was trying to
- 1:56:16say but she couldn't fucking say
- 1:56:19had to make it about her so she gets my shit stained.
- 1:56:23I'm going to say that with this one with the saying I was
- 1:56:28abused and turning this in, we
- 1:56:32where people were abused and talking about sexual, physical,
- 1:56:37emotional abuse and she makes about her and her abuse like
- 1:56:42it's not even just a shit stain.
- 1:56:44It's like fucking blow out diarrhea on the floor stain.
- 1:56:47Robyn. Go to hell bitch.
- 1:56:49Go to bed, bitch. I fully support your decision,
- 1:56:54My shit stain. Oh God.
- 1:56:56You know, I really wanted to give it to Christine for that
- 1:56:59bullshit, but I'm going to give it to Kody.
- 1:57:03Kody Brown, because when he was asked about being a good father
- 1:57:06and if that was his ultimate goal, he said yes from the very
- 1:57:10beginning. And while I don't, I wouldn't,
- 1:57:22optimism or something. I could be, you know, I could be
- 1:57:26I'm whatever. Look at me, I'm jovial.
- 1:57:28I'm, I'm a showboat. I'm a I'm a performer.
- 1:57:30It's my cross to bear that these children are better be with
- 1:57:33them. I'm going to help them this time
- 1:57:41And in fact, in our coming up ONS in the next episode,
- 1:57:45Christine has a clip where she's like, the kids never see you.
- 1:57:48And that's what they're talking about now is that they never see
- 1:57:53talking about how yes, he's his ultimate goal is to be a good
- 1:57:57father from the very beginning. No, you are neglecting your
- 1:58:01children in real time. Literally the preview of the
- 1:58:03next episode of the Next. Episode and because this is ATV
- 1:58:07show being put on and we're only seeing what we're seeing,
- 1:58:10we haven't really been shown the whole thing yet and we won't
- 1:58:14for a while. But Kody is an alleged deadbeat
- 1:58:18dad, so he lied on national television about caring about
- 1:58:23his children and he didn't stand up and say, Robyn, stop talking
- 1:58:28about your supposed former abuse.
- 1:58:30He lets her do it and so he is perpetuating the lie.
- 1:58:34Yep. Yep, Yep, Yep.
- 1:58:36Really. You stole my shit stain?
- 1:58:37Because Robyn is the one that. Really, she deserved it.
- 1:58:40She's diarrhea time around. Massive diarrhea.
- 1:58:45Uncontrollable diarrhea. Our headboard moment.
- 1:58:48No, just kidding. Our keep sweet moment this week
- 1:58:52comes to us from Patreon. It is a comment from Lisa
- 1:58:55Jamison. Hi, Lisa.
- 1:58:56Hello, Lisa. She says I don't know how you
- 1:58:59both do it. Your podcast is so good and the
- 1:59:02sister wife episodes are so bad.
- 1:59:05Great job guys. Thank you heart emoji and I love
- 1:59:09that that is so sweet. Not only.
- 1:59:11Well, thank you Lisa for this compliment and the.
- 1:59:14Emoji back. Which is that's the whole point
- 1:59:17of the Keep Sweet segment, everybody OK, five stars and
- 1:59:20compliments. That's what we need.
- 1:59:22Praise, praise, praise. But also I do agree with Lisa
- 1:59:27that the episodes are so bad like this.
- 1:59:29This show is terrible. Literally every time we watch an
- 1:59:33episode, I'm like, well, and you're like, well, we look at
- 1:59:37each other and we're like, what are we going to have to say?
- 1:59:39And then we sit down and we're
- 1:59:42say. We always have too much just.
- 1:59:44Cut to two hours later, we're still talking.
- 1:59:47Hours later. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is true,
- 1:59:49Lisa. The show is ridiculous and we're
- 1:59:54two deadbeat losers here talking
- 1:59:56Thank you. Thank you for joining our
- 1:59:57Patreon. Thank you for joining us on this
