- 0:00Johnny, anything to say? Yeah, I just hope you guys are
- 0:03still with us. This is when we see the naval
- 0:05race really heat up and where the British start to become
- 0:10worried about German homogeny and the oceans around the world.
- 0:16They're certainly not with us and I don't think they've ever
- 0:19been with. Us.
- 0:19Yeah, maybe not without primary sources.
- 0:22They were being waspray. This is going to be a four part
- 0:26monster. Series She basically equated
- 0:29dress theory to mutually assured destruction.
- 0:34I told my wife that even though well before parts like there's
- 0:37still going to be stuff that you missed so.
- 0:39Is that why she's divorcing you it?
- 0:41Might be I am assuring my own destruction because they have so
- 0:46many weapons I. Wonder why she married you then?
- 0:50And we have to remember, like the idea of imperialism and
- 0:54colonies and empire, it goes back to the 1500's, the 16th
- 1:00century. Portugal and Spain basically
- 1:04provided the blueprint. And after that, other European
- 1:07nations. And about the Dutch, the French,
- 1:10the British, of course. Yeah, I do wonder why, when
- 1:15Germany becomes a united nation in 1871, they want to be part of
- 1:22that. But we need to take into account
- 1:25that most colonies are established by that point, so
- 1:29you can understand why the British in particular and the
- 1:32French were threatened by German colonial expansion I.
- 1:38Mean it was a First World War theme weapon.
- 1:41Besmark famously said my map of Africa is in.
- 1:45Europe, thankfully, I don't sure.
- 1:48I'll always remember when Franz Joseph said about dealing with
- 1:53Serbia and dealing with the Slappy question.
- 1:56If the empire is to perish, it shall do so with dignity, and
- 2:00I'm sure that 18 to 20 million people who died in the war would
- 2:05have shared that sentiment.
