- 0:24Congratulations, you have made it to the end of yet another week, and
- 0:30thank you for joining us inside the Treehouse. And as our friend and uh
- 0:36newly reacquired T shirt printer Chris Cone from the Pirate Printing LLC stated in the
- 0:42Treehouse, there is no knock needed. How what's that tray? I said?
- 0:53How did we not think of that? I'm I'm a little mad at
- 0:58myself. I have I have like a folder on my phone and the note
- 1:00section of different things or marketing slogans or just you know whatever. And I'm
- 1:08waiting, I did I not think of knock? And he's like, God,
- 1:11damn it, Well we got it now. And I already told him
- 1:15I'm stealing it. So I think it's okay to steal something. What you
- 1:18told some when you're stealing it, does that? Does that? Does that
- 1:23work? It seems like a very white thing that you just said. I
- 1:26think it works that way with intellectual property, not like with a car.
- 1:30Yeah. I was gonna say if you just walked into a bank and I'm
- 1:32I'm gonna steal all your money and they're like, oh, you said it.
- 1:34Yeah, So no, that's that's a felony. Okay, good,
- 1:38I want to if I tell Yeah, Whereas if I tell the T shirt
- 1:42guy I'm stealing the slogan you just said, then it's really not a whole
- 1:47lot He could probably do about it. Yeah, is it going on the
- 1:51shirt? No, it was. It was a post that he did on
- 1:55Facebook and I commented underneath it, I'm stealing that. God. Now,
- 2:00I'm sure legal experts everywhere would say, first of all, you shouldn't admit
- 2:04that. Second of all, you shouldn't refer to it as stealing. And
- 2:07then you left a trail admitting to the theft. Yeah. Yeah, I
- 2:12got quite a bit of evidence saying that I stole this thing. Well,
- 2:16I think if we end up doing a T shirt that says no secret not
- 2:20needed, Chris will be fine with it. Yeah. Well, I think
- 2:24he will be as long as we use him to print those shirts. If
- 2:29we went with somebody else, Yeah, I think if we called Vista Print
- 2:34and put that on there, he's gonna come after us. I'm assuming that's
- 2:37where the pirate comes into it, with the printing pirate. So yes,
- 2:43you have made it. It is Friday inside the treehouse. Time to leave
- 2:46your worries outside, join us inside the treehouse. Me Daniel Malley, along
- 2:52with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma. Here we are. It's Friday. I'm
- 2:57not as into it as normally am. I'm not feeling good. We are
- 2:59on the eve of our Treehouse podcast Chris Wait Treehouse Podcast, roadshow, Christmas
- 3:07Party and roast of Me at Shaker Ten's tomorrow afternoon on a Saturday. We've
- 3:13we've moved up in the world, gentleman. No more Friday afternoon roadshows for
- 3:15us. Oh no, we are doing the Saturday afternoon thing. Yeah,
- 3:21I think Dallas. We've become more responsible. Like we were doing the Fridays
- 3:28like like right during happy hour, right when people were getting off work,
- 3:30so people were showing up, having a good time, going you know,
- 3:34home a little tipsy before the sun went down. Yep. And now we're
- 3:38doing it like most soccer moms, like in the middle of the afternoon.
- 3:42There's kids around, we're near them all. I like it. And we've
- 3:45all we've we've all got our sippy cups, which, speaking of which we
- 3:47will be selling the Treehouse Podcast steel cup Tumbler's courtesy of our friends at Spoke
- 3:53Custom We'll be selling those in person, giving some away as well, and
- 3:58taking orders for more should you want some, in addition to some brand new
- 4:01Treehouse Podcast t shirts that we will have a limited quantity of tomorrow at shaker
- 4:10Tin's four to seven. Pe very excited about that, although it doesn't seem
- 4:14like EU, Raj and Trey are as excited about it as I am,
- 4:16because you guys are pretty strategic in our group text. If I send something
- 4:21and neither one of you responds, like when I said, Hey, I'm
- 4:26gonna wear a Christmas sweater at the party, and I got nothing out of
- 4:30the two of you, not a word, not a chirt. No.
- 4:32Oh, I didn't know we were supposed to respond. I was looking for
- 4:35I've been looking for a good one. Oh really, Yeah, yeah,
- 4:39I've been doing I just assumed Trey would show up in a grunch outfit.
- 4:44Yeah, I've actually I have something special ordered. I just don't know if
- 4:48it's gonna get here today. That sounds like a fine excuse I. If
- 4:56it does, you will you'll be impressed. Okay, Yeah, I found
- 5:01Look. Look, look, I've been looking forward to this for a while
- 5:03since, you know, since even right before we announced it, but even
- 5:06more so now because I'm in town. Now, I made it in the
- 5:11Airbnb and we got the party tomorrow, the roast as well, and I
- 5:18guess the two of you are actually going to be festively dressed, and I
- 5:21want to make sure that anyone that comes tomorrow you too can do the same.
- 5:26It is our Christmas party, after all. When we worked at iHeartRadio
- 5:29for years, what was it, it was July twenty ten through It's like
- 5:35for twelve years for me and Trey. I don't know if in your tenure
- 5:42with us at iHeart, if you if you ever really were subjected to the
- 5:45client Christmas parties at IHEARTM No, not a Christmas party, other client events,
- 5:56but no. See the CBS parties that we had back in the tho,
- 6:00those were Christmas parties, and eventually, as things became more corporate,
- 6:03they locked those down a little bit more and eventually it was kind of ho
- 6:06hum. I'm sure it had nothing to do at that time that me and
- 6:12my fellow promotions guys at kV IL were drinking with Terry King on all the
- 6:15drink coupons and drinking twelve year old and fifteen year old Scotch at the Crescent.
- 6:20I'm sure. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the clamping down
- 6:25of Christmas parties. But at least I had a really really good one under
- 6:29the belt before they really started to restrict things. But at iHeart they never
- 6:34I don't really recall an actual iHeart Christmas party, like a company Christmas party
- 6:39like so many people have at their job. It's like, oh, we're
- 6:42gonna have an actual Christmas party and it's fun and everybody lets loose and everyone
- 6:45feels awkward and guilty the following Monday. We didn't have that really at iHeart.
- 6:49Eventually, it was just like it was a you invite the clients in,
- 6:53and it was it was for their enjoyment, their entertainment, and thanking
- 6:56them for all the money that they had, you know, paid for our
- 6:59services. About the year. Actually the last, the last Christmas party I
- 7:04went to, which was really my kind of trude grau with the show.
- 7:12I can't remember if that was a client Christmas party or not. I think
- 7:14it might have been. Probably was, I don't remember. Well, No,
- 7:20it was just that literally that was the night that was when Russ and
- 7:24I had our blow up, something that happened right as we were walking in
- 7:30and wow, okay, yeah, so lots of drama with those Christmas parties.
- 7:36I'm hoping ours is just going to be filled with fun and festivities.
- 7:41So if you want to dress up, you know, for the occasion,
- 7:43please do. I'm still holding out hope that Raj decides to go as cousin
- 7:48Eddie emptying out the chemical toilet, but I'm not sure if that's going to
- 7:53happen. I don't think he's still seen the movie. But if you,
- 7:56but if anyone else wants to dress up, please do Raj. It is
- 7:59literally on TV every day every day, No, I know, I know,
- 8:03I was watching. I turned on the TV this morning and Gremlins was
- 8:07on, and I was like, oh, I've never seen that either,
- 8:09and so I was like, but why watch it now? I made it
- 8:13forty some odd years without watching it. When I start now, I'm good.
- 8:18I don't know the I don't know the references. It makes me happy
- 8:20when I see how happy those references make you guys. So there's my joy.
- 8:26I appreciate it because lesser people would say something like I just lesser people
- 8:31would would say they don't like seeing other people happy at all. So thank
- 8:35you. Yeah. No, when you guys together when you're like, whatever
- 8:39the lines are from the movie and you can recite them down. I know
- 8:41both of you can verbat them, and I'm pretty sure you guys can go
- 8:46through the entire movie and do it. So if I ever wanted to watch
- 8:48it, I would just have the two of you reenacted the movie for me.
- 8:52I can do that for you. Yes, that's entertainment. That is.
- 8:56That's why you forget everything is because your brain is filled with you less
- 9:00knowledge, like oh, I know it? Yeah so just And even my
- 9:05wife has said that, she's like, you, how was it? You
- 9:07know all these other dumb things, but you can't remember the importance of there.
- 9:11I don't know. Look, my brain doesn't let me decide what I
- 9:13remember and don't remember. Yeah, so uh. The joy that I see
- 9:18on y'all on y'all spaces, when you guys crack each other up with references
- 9:22you've heard fifty five thousand times makes me happy. So why watch? Why
- 9:28spoil it? Why be? Why be part of the group? You know
- 9:35what the movie? And what holiday movie? I watched again and first I
- 9:37thought I didn't like it, and maybe I was like I was in my
- 9:41drinking days. Maybe elf is a crappy movie. Oh oh oh man,
- 9:48you and uh you and Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration are cut
- 9:52from the same cloth, he says. He says that he judges people if
- 9:58they say that's the favorite movie. I don't know. I wouldn't say that
- 10:03far. I just it. It's just not a it's predictable. It's just
- 10:07not a great movie. Yeah, I don't know what you're expecting from a
- 10:11Will Ferrell movie, Like, I don't know. I don't know what kind
- 10:13of unpredictability you're expecting out of a Christmas movie? Like did you think that
- 10:18eventually that Elf is gonna end up working for the mob? And now,
- 10:20granted with James Conna's his dad, it would have been an interesting twist.
- 10:24I like it. Yeah, I've been I've been publishing. Yeah, Godfather
- 10:31Clause I could, I could, Godfather Christmas? I could? Uh I
- 10:35could? I could watched that that would be I mean, unfortunately he's gone,
- 10:39but James Gandolfini would have been amazing. Santa Claus as a mob boss.
- 10:45We're writing this movie. We are writing this movie. It's gonna be
- 10:48out next year. I promise you. We're writing this movie. You have
- 10:52to be careful with that because there are lots of diehard Christmas people that get
- 10:56their panties in a bunch whenever some type of Christmas movie is twisted into something
- 11:03nefarious, like what is the recent movie It's a Wonderful Knife, I think
- 11:09is the newest one. Oh. I saw a clip on Fox News and
- 11:13they were, of course complaining about how Christmas is supposed to be about joy
- 11:18and happiness and how dare someone turned something so pure into a horror slasher film.
- 11:24It's like, I mean, the Bible is kind of slasher. Yeah,
- 11:30I mean, but it's for different reasons, Like if you were a
- 11:31polyester blend, I can stone you to death. But there's that. But
- 11:37that's not really a good movie. I know. I still I'm gonna maintain
- 11:41that the greatest holiday Christmas movie is The ref That's a good one. I
- 11:48did see that. That was a good Denis Leary, that's a good movie.
- 11:50I love that movie. And only because you mentioned it. Trey.
- 11:54The reference of Kevin Spacey in that movie with his mother and when they're having
- 12:01the fight in the living room and he says, next time you feel unappreciated,
- 12:11you go up on that cross and I'll nail get to it. And
- 12:15that was one of the things I used to tell Russ all the time whenever
- 12:16he would say, no, it appreciates anything I do, and I would
- 12:20tell him it's like, well, you know what we actually do, appreciate
- 12:24you coming off that cross and helping us out. He never knew how to
- 12:28take that, because there's he was kind of blocked in either way. It's
- 12:31like, well he really was in a rock and heard place with that one,
- 12:37that line and Dennis Larry's line when I cannot think of the female lead
- 12:41on that, but when she's rattling off all this stuff and he goes,
- 12:43what are we girlfriends? You know what? This family needs a mute.
- 12:52I was actually thinking at the road show about doing a interactive poll about the
- 12:56best Christmas movies, and I was thinking of doing one online, but I
- 13:00haven't had time with traveling and everything seeing what the Treehouse uh uh, you
- 13:05know, listeners or Treehouse insiders whatever we're calling everybody now what the what the
- 13:11official holiday movie of the Treehouse should be. So it's like I was even
- 13:15considering, should Elf be in I'm not Elf? Sorry, sorry, Trey?
- 13:18Should the ref be in the consideration of that poll for everyone to vote.
- 13:22I'm obviously Diehard is in there because I don't care what you say.
- 13:26That's a Christmas movie. It is Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation. The ref
- 13:31Elf has to be in there because it is a lot of people's favorite and
- 13:35it's a newer classic Bad Santa, Bad Santa. Yeah, that's what I
- 13:41need to rewatch. It's been a while since I've seen Bad Santa. Yeah.
- 13:48I'm still I'm sorry, I'm still stuck on the I'm writing this movie
- 13:50in my head. I'm writing the the Mob Christmas Movie. I just gonna
- 13:56give you a god Is it god Clause or Godfather Christmas. We'll figure out.
- 14:01We'll figure out that. It's a tentative working title. Sure, but
- 14:05the slogan is it's gonna give you a present you can't refuse. Solid.
- 14:11I like it. I like it. It's just gonna be murdering Mayhem,
- 14:15Like, it's gonna be fantastic. There's gonna be there's gonna be deer.
- 14:18There's gonna be like rabid Deer's We'll figure it out. Don Kringle, Oh
- 14:24there it is. See how this is how it starts. This is beautiful,
- 14:30drop the gun, take the candy cane telling you we got to start
- 14:37up Treehouse Productions. We already did a blatant rip off of Jaws with jowls
- 14:41the Halloween Special. I don't see why we can't do a Godfather Christmas thing.
- 14:48We're doing it. I'm gonna I'm gonna start writing it. It's gonna
- 14:50be great. Uh. We're gonna incorporate every Mob movie, so like every
- 14:56Mob movie ever made, there's gonna be a scene from from those. It's
- 14:58gonna to be fantastic. Oh, I've never never been more excited for Christmas
- 15:03as a fun too, because like the irishman, de Niro's character, Uh,
- 15:07he says, you know, I paint houses, which meant he painted
- 15:09houses with the brains and blood of people he killed or he whacked. You
- 15:13could you could still do that in the film. But instead what he does
- 15:16is he walks behind, he walks up behind unsuspecting carrollers and paints the houses.
- 15:22Yeah, there you go. He's like, I'm any sweep and just
- 15:26throwing the bodies in the fireplace. Have an l figures. What do I
- 15:33look like a clown? I'm a clown anyways. Yeah, this is gonna
- 15:43get so much money thrown at us, it's gonna be fantastic. All right,
- 15:48let's get to riding, because I think we have plenty of time between

- 18:27couple of things to point out for the road show tomorrow at Shaker Tins four
- 18:32to seven pm. That's the Shaker Tins Midtown location that's on Nole Road,
- 18:36across the street from the Galleria. As Raj has scouted and reported back to
- 18:40us, plenty of parking so good also mentioned earlier, we will have a
- 18:47merch available, we'll have some a couple of giveaways that we'll be doing,
- 18:51and also in addition to the roast that will happen after the taping of the
- 18:57show, we will also be participating in Operation Santa for the Warren Center,
- 19:07which helps special needs children or sorry, children with special needs. Yeah,
- 19:11pree which way it's supposed to go, but you get what I mean.
- 19:14So we're asking you to please help us make a great Christmas for those in
- 19:18need, in this case, developmentally challenged children. I posted on social media
- 19:23if you need some ideas of gifts to bring. They have an Amazon wish
- 19:29list that I've posted and you can check that out online or just search for
- 19:33the Warren Center and then there are ways on that you can find their Amazon
- 19:37wish lists. So I'll give you an idea of the kind of stuff that
- 19:41they want for these kiddos for Christmas. Yeah, that was easy. That
- 19:44was so I think I saw your think your wife posted it first before I
- 19:48saw yours, and I just went on there and I was like, that's
- 19:51just so easy, and so I went ahead and knocked out a couple of
- 19:52things. So even if you can't make it to the event, you can
- 19:56go on the wishless thing. It's not like you have to bring it there.
- 20:00You go on the Amazon wish list, order it. It goes directly
- 20:02to them. It's really simple. It's really cool. Yeah, and it's
- 20:06really reasonably Almost everything there's or everything there was pretty reasonably priced. I think,
- 20:10like I said, from ten to thirty dollars, where most of the
- 20:12gifts were in between that range. So, uh yeah, very cool.
- 20:17I'm excited about that. So I was traveling yesterday, coming to town for
- 20:23that road show on Saturday, right and coming from the Islands flying Spirit.
- 20:33You usually stop in one of two cities in Florida. One is Miami,
- 20:37I'm sorry, one is Fort Lauderdale right next to Miami, and the other
- 20:41one less often but still happens on occasion is Orlando, And while at the
- 20:48Orlando Airport yesterday, I came this close to witnessing a Florida Man news story.
- 20:57This ink and close in the middle of the Orlando Airport, there's like
- 21:06a a trium and it has a big Christmas tree in the middle, and
- 21:10it's got it's sort of like a like a wheel with spokes that come off
- 21:15of it. So in the center wheel, like where the hubcap would be,
- 21:18is the area where we were that sort of like the food court area,
- 21:21and then the spokes shoot off into the various terminals. Right while we're
- 21:23trying to kill a little bit of time, we started walking down one of
- 21:27the spokes towards another terminal, and we didn't even make it halfway down that
- 21:32hallway before we stopped and said, I have not seen this in person,
- 21:37but I've seen it in print and it starts with Florida Man. So we
- 21:42turned around. So what I saw was a shirtless man getting into a verbal
- 21:48altercation with the handicapped special assistance wheelchair dude. Nice. I mean, the
- 21:56only thing missing was the actual action to turn that into a headline. It
- 22:00was right there, right there. Yeah, I just already liked the fact
- 22:06that you can be shirtless in the Orlando Airport like that, like that old
- 22:11like that guy came prepared for the metal detector came. It's like, I
- 22:15got nothing on, buddy, and they let him through. That should let
- 22:18you know. So here's what I think happened. So for some reason,
- 22:22I don't know if it's because if you're in enough fights, you know,
- 22:23to remove your shirt so you don't get the the hockey player treatment, you
- 22:29know, or they pull it up over your head and then they punch in
- 22:30the face a bunch because you can't see anything. Maybe that's why guys take
- 22:33off their shirts before they get into a fight. But I think that's what
- 22:36happened because when we came across the scene, he was shirtless, but when
- 22:41everything calmed down, he was starting to put his shirt back on. So
- 22:45I don't know, you're right roight. He may have come in like that
- 22:48and then he decided to wait to put his shirt on until he got through
- 22:52security or something. I don't know, But when we first saw him,
- 22:55he was shirtless and yelling at the wheelchair assistance to do and the wheelchair assistance
- 23:02dude was yelling back, and you know who the hero of the day was
- 23:06this little old lady not in the wheelchair thing. God because I hadn't made
- 23:11it even better. But she also was part of the special Assistance wheelchair team
- 23:15at the Orlando Airport, and she basically grabbed the younger fella who was about
- 23:19to get into the fight with the shirtless Florida man and dragged him away.
- 23:22Okay, I like the in my head, the slogan outside the Florida Orlando
- 23:27Airport says, no shirt, no shoes, no problem. But God bless
- 23:34the older lady for uh, you know, having a cooler head and getting
- 23:40the person away. Like I just don't. I'm I'm glad that that's a
- 23:45happy ending for Florida. Like that really, like that's a happy ending of
- 23:48the story. I was done, Like I actually told Tera, it's like,
- 23:52we need to walk away. This will be a news story tomorrow and
- 23:55I'll be reading it. Yeah. But it's just one of those few times
- 23:59where I could actually say, just like Brian Williams once did and I was
- 24:03there, only you're telling the truth this time, Yeah, I actually be
- 24:08factual. Yeah, yeah, go ahead. It seems like that, you
- 24:14know, it needs like a pet alligator and a bush light or something you
- 24:17know, really to to give it the full essence of Florida bush if it
- 24:22makes you feel any better. About half an hour before that, one of
- 24:26the handicapped special Assistance wheelchair people was wheeling two older ladies down the terminal and
- 24:33I guess he's right handed, so the right the lady on his right wheelchair
- 24:37was going really well, and on his left he ran her into the wall.
- 24:48That's one of those things where it's like you have to stop and think,
- 24:51Okay, do I want to stop and help or is it better to
- 24:53pretend I saw nothing. That's when you go up and try to help,
- 24:57and the guy's like, no, no, no. The one on the
- 25:00left and coach, that's just part of the Florida treatment. She couldn't make
- 25:07it to Disneylands, so we're given the roller coaster treatment. It's pretty bad.
- 25:11Even Florida Wheelchair Assistance gives rough rides. Anyway, I was this close
- 25:22to witnessing a Florida Man news story in the flesh, and I gotta say
- 25:26I was a little disappointed. I'm surprised no one called security. I was
- 25:30expecting just to see h sheriff's deputies or city police airport Police General security.
- 25:40I wanted to see that dude get tased. That would have made my holidays
- 25:44perfect. You know, the cops, I mean the shirtless guy. You
- 25:49think that's gonna cause them to, you know, put down their coffee and
- 25:53come running. Yeah, I'm sure, I'm sure he was the airport security.
- 25:59They would I didn't realize it was an hr issue that we were witnessing
- 26:03in the terminal. He didn't get his holiday bonus. I don't expect anything
- 26:12less. Like when when you said when you said bush Light Trey, I
- 26:17was like immediately, I was like, that's the official beer of Florida.
- 26:19Like when your governor's name is Ron, like I expect everybody in your airport
- 26:26to be shirtless. Like when your governor has a bro name, what's up
- 26:33Ron? Like, Like, no, is that a bro name? I
- 26:36feel like for Florida? Yeah, I feel like a bro name for him
- 26:38would just be just DeSantis. Yeah. Well no, I mean like we
- 26:41can go by his middle name is Dion. Why is he not going by
- 26:48that diantis? Like I'm assuming his full name is Ronald Dion DeSantis. That's
- 26:52right. How do you not go by Dion de Santas? You sound immediately
- 26:56cool. I know then it won't his face. So you know what,
- 27:03you don't let anybody see him. You basically take the entire plot of Eddie
- 27:06Murphy's Distinguished Gentleman and you run. You run on the name alone, and
- 27:10you never let anyone see him. So you get the you get the quote
- 27:14unquote urban democrat vote trick ye into voting for a far right wing white dude.
- 27:21Yeah, I like, we got we got too many movies to write,
- 27:25so it'd be bush light. But it's just b u s h bush
- 27:30Light. I dig it, I dig it. But if a if a
- 27:34crappy light beer was to ever become a state, it would be Florida.
- 27:40That's what it would be. Florida just does something to people. I mean
- 27:44even Bob Iger, who generally respected is really a great CEO. Like this
- 27:52week he even, you know, just Florida out and he just said one
- 27:56of the dumbest things ever. They were talking about the Marvels. You know,
- 28:00it was a big box office bomb and first Disney announced it. I
- 28:03mean, it's so bad. They're like, it's at the end of its
- 28:06run. We're no longer going to report box office sales. Yeah, but
- 28:11then Eiger goes, yeah, one of the problems was we didn't have enough
- 28:14executives on set. Didn't you ever see Star Wars, Dickhead. Honestly,
- 28:21that's spoken like a true CEO. You know, you know what the answer
- 28:23to this company is more executives or this creative enterprise. What we need is
- 28:37a building full of suited up, wing tipped MBA turds telling creatives how to
- 28:45do what they do, and then we'll just call it. iHeart, I
- 28:56want it on the record. I didn't say that. I laugh. You're
- 29:12listening to The Treehouse. Visit us online that Treehouse on air dot com.
- 29:22Time now for a fun conversation in the Treehouse with our friend and sponsor Daniel
- 29:26Cook from Cook Dfwroofing and Restoration. Give him a call for your free roof
- 29:29inspection that number eight three three cook DFW or the website cookdfw dot com.
- 29:36So, Daniel, you were telling me there was a fifty nine million dollar
- 29:40wedding this last month, and obviously it's been viral and lots of comment Harry
- 29:48about spending that much money on a wedding and all the social drama surrounding it.
- 29:52So I'm curious as a father yourself, did would you ever consider throwing
- 29:56down a six, seven or eight figure wedding? Dan, I don't even
- 30:04know where to start. I really don't. I don't think I could throw
- 30:07down a five figure wedding. I mean, I don't know. I mean
- 30:11when me and Carrie got married, we kind of handled everything ourselves, and
- 30:15we really were on a tight budget and we didn't try to waste any money,
- 30:19but we wanted to be able to invite our friends and family and have
- 30:23a good time. And I think we were just so worried about the cost.
- 30:27Just like going to college. It's like, how much money do you
- 30:30want to spend on this degree and then not have and then have to pay
- 30:33it back? You know. And it's just like not saying weddings aren't important.
- 30:37I just feel like, you know, if you're going to be spending
- 30:40fifty sixty eight hundred thousand, in this case, fifty nine million dollars in
- 30:45a wedding, man, that's a one day event. I mean, I
- 30:48just I don't get it. But yeah, I mean I've seen people do
- 30:49it, and I know I personally have known friends that have spent one hundred
- 30:53thousand dollars on their weddings. Yea, and that's that. I've been to
- 30:56a wedding like that where I know it was six figures spent, and you
- 31:00know what, my favorite thing at that wedding was the mash potato bar.
- 31:03And I guarantee you that mashed potato bar is not what's sent it into six
- 31:07figures. No, it's not. I mean, there's some of these women
- 31:12when they get married, and I understand it's a umongous deal for you to
- 31:17get married. I mean that's a big thing. But I've seen some of
- 31:19these dresses that these women are wearing, and they're in they're in, you
- 31:22know, just a dress by itself. In some cases it's ten thousand,
- 31:25fifteen thousand dollars one pair of shoes that they're gonna wear one nine is fifteen
- 31:30hundred dollars. You know, there's some elaborate items that you can start packing
- 31:34on the dollars with. At the same time, when you're spending that amount
- 31:37of money on a wedding, don't you and I as entrepreneurs, think,
- 31:41hmm, how can I get a piece of that pie? For example,
- 31:45maybe this family needs a roof inspection, and you don't you don't spend fifty
- 31:49nine million dollars on a wedding without getting some stuff for free on occasion.
- 31:53Dan, I think that's a hell of a wedding gift right there. Let's
- 31:56get let's us go ahead and put this out there. If you are a
- 31:59part of the Brockways wedding, you are entitled to a free roof inspection from
- 32:02Cook DFW. Is one of your wedding gifts. How about that, folks,
- 32:07It pays to be rich. Give Daniel Cook a call at COOKDFW Roofing
- 32:10and Restoration eight three three COOKDFW or cookdfw dot com. It's the Treehouse.
- 32:17Two one, four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight is the phone number
- 32:21four Brooks Plumbing, and you too can talk to Jacqueline just like I do
- 32:23each and every week here in the Treehouse, and you can get some of
- 32:28that amazing customer service from Jacqueline and her family and all the guys at Brooks
- 32:32Plumbing. This time of year, it's the holiday season. I'm curious,
- 32:35speaking of your guys and you and your family and the family business, what's
- 32:38your favorite part of the holiday season. I would I would like to strap
- 32:44a GoPro to my chest and let everybody watch Holidays of my family because we're
- 32:49Italian and Grandma and Grandpa like to do one thing and one thing only.
- 32:52And apparently that was just reproduced. And so my mom's one of nine kids,
- 32:55and everybody's married, and everybody has like five more kids. So it's
- 32:59a huge family. And so you know, you've got those little clicks within
- 33:01the family. You've got all the cousins that are really close, and you've
- 33:05got the siblings that are fighting this quarter of the year and then the next
- 33:07quarter next year it'll be completely different. But my family, my favorite thing
- 33:12in the world is the recap when the first half of the family exits from
- 33:15the family gathering and then the intimate circle of the family sits down and has
- 33:21a play by play of everything they heard and saw as a group with the
- 33:24whole family. Does your family do that where you sit down and you have
- 33:28like a mini meeting about everything that was discussed. No, no, I
- 33:31just usually just would would run away and like leave Grand Prairie and run back
- 33:37to Dallas and usually go straight to a bar. So, actually, you
- 33:39know what, you're right, I guess we did sort of recap it was
- 33:42just usually like me and Tara doing our recap over over some vodka or something.
- 33:45Yes. And then so being Italian, we do on Christmas Eve the
- 33:51Feast of the Seven Fishes. Have you ever heard about that before? I've
- 33:53heard of it, but I've never experienced It's that's totally a thing. And
- 33:59then my last favorite thing I'll mention is somebody made an Italian version of the
- 34:05song Dominic the Donkey and I love it. I'll send it to you in
- 34:08a link. It's so cheesy, but it's so on the nose and can't
- 34:14be about just Italians at Christmas, and it's my favorite thing in the world.
- 34:19I look forward to hearing that, and I look forward to the new
- 34:22year with Brooks Plumbing here inside the tree House and you too, if you,
- 34:29you know, have family over and they do a number on your pipes
- 34:32and you see and they will, then you know the people to call that
- 34:36is, of course Brook's Plumbing two one four, three six eight thirty eight
- 34:38thirty eight two one four, three six eight thirty eight thirty eight or Brooks
- 34:42Plumbing Texas dot com. You're in the tree house, visit us online at
- 34:50Treehouseonair dot com. No, it's just really bad stomach pains. Started feeling
- 35:00them yesterday, got worse overnight. I've been chugging pepto and chewing gas acts
- 35:12just because the part of the pain reminds me of when I ate an entire
- 35:16bag of frozen broccoli and the gas pain that was released from eating too much
- 35:21broccoli was devastating. Really, yeah, why did you do that? The
- 35:29bag of broccoli. Yes, it's basically calorie free. I can eat a
- 35:32whole thing. I eat a bunch of broccoli to fill up, and then
- 35:36you eat some other protein and then you're good. You got a meal there.
- 35:38Yeah, but just horrible, horrible gas, horrible gas. Oh it
- 35:45happened. Well, that was one of those times where had it gotten just
- 35:51one tick worse, I would have said, take me to the hospital and
- 35:53have them like poke a hole in my tummy or something. Hilarious. Okay,
- 35:58it's pretty I knew I knew what it was. I knew it.
- 36:00I also googled it to make sure, but I knew what it was.
- 36:04Yeah, And at a certain point the pain was so bad I didn't care
- 36:08what the what what The doctors and the nurses and whoever else would have said
- 36:13in the emergency room, was like, I know it's gas, but it's
- 36:15bat and hurts like health knock me out or poke a hole in me something
- 36:20to let this out. Yeah, I thought I've got kind of a similar
- 36:25pain right now, but it comes and goes. I haven't had the sphinx,
- 36:30so that's that's good. There was there was one point around four thirty
- 36:36this morning. I wasn't real sure, like I thought I may have to
- 36:39gotcha. But it's subsided. Yeah, like when I had the parasite when
- 36:45I was in in Mumbai, there was no pain. It was just it
- 36:49just was a it was just all It was constant release and there was no
- 36:53there was no hurting. It was just dehydration and couldn't hold anything down.
- 36:58So that that was the only thing. Well, first time I went to
- 37:00drink from a bottle of water and I immediately threw that up and I was
- 37:06like, okay, we're not going to be able to hold anything down.
- 37:08But there was no pain because I just saw you like double over just a
- 37:10second ago, and that it's that bad. That's wild is on one side.
- 37:17No right now, it's mainly lower. Last night in the middle of
- 37:22the night is That's part of the reason I'm so damn tired is because the
- 37:24last two nights I've gotten very little sleep. But last night was because of
- 37:30the stomach pain, and it was kind of all over. It was kind
- 37:32of high up on the right side, middle, right side, down low.
- 37:37I'm not pulling on Mike McCarthy. I don't think it's appendicitis because I
- 37:40think that's a very localized pain that's actually not It can actually be just to
- 37:47one side of your because you're saying it's low and but it's onto one because
- 37:52when you doubled over, you doubled over to one side to ease the pain.
- 37:55That's because that's the side I've got room. If I go to the
- 37:58left, I'll smack my head on my roadcaster. I'm already positioned this way.
- 38:05If I go this way, I'm gonna tweak something else that doesn't need
- 38:07to be tweaked. I don't know if I don't know if it was because
- 38:10of the jerk chicken wrap I ate at the Saint Thomas Airport. Okay,
- 38:15you start there, you don't. You don't start with tummy paine. You
- 38:20start with a jerk chicken wrap in an airport that's where you like, what
- 38:22was what was gas station sushi not available? Like what are you doing?
- 38:27Like? What what is happening? I've only eaten gas station sushi once and
- 38:30I was but I had the jerk chicken wrap in St. Thomas and I
- 38:37felt fine and it and how many hours? How many hours after you ate
- 38:43it? Did you start feeling sad, like really bad? Around eight to
- 38:47twelve somewhere there solid But then again, I mean we were also killing time
- 38:52in the Orlando airport, so I don't know if there was something I got
- 38:57there. What did you eat? I gotta think what did you touch?
- 39:05Did you touch the shirtless guy? I did not get close enough to the
- 39:09Florida man to actually catch Florida man dysentery? Thank god? I mean I
- 39:16did drink the water. I don't know if that has anything. I mean,
- 39:21I know they say to be careful of that when you go to Mexico,
- 39:23but really, you gotta watch that Florida water, and Florida is the
- 39:27Mexico of the United States. You can't trust that dirty water. You mean
- 39:35the gator piss water. That's exactly right. So yeah, I think that's
- 39:40not at that's that's there. That's the reason why if you're wondering there was
- 39:44no football show yesterday, it's because because it's because I got like a bad
- 39:49dummy babe. I feel so bad way, but I don't know the pediat
- 39:52Are you doing any the pickle juice to alleviate the cramping? Uh? Pepto
- 39:59gasc slots of water? Okay you might because you with that, there is
- 40:04a depletion of sodium, so you might wanna get some pickle juice in you.
- 40:08We had some Indian food for lunch, so I think my sodium level
- 40:14is solid. Yeah, that's good. What did you what do you where
- 40:17you getting your Indian food from? Buddy? Do you our place in Irving?
- 40:21Oh? Gotcha? Okay, I know that's on your list of approved
- 40:23places. It is very much so, yeah, we love that place.
- 40:27Shockingly, we wanted. We decided to go there first before we got barbecue
- 40:30while in town, because you know, when you come to Texas, you
- 40:36get the Indian food when you come to North Texas. Yes, yes,
- 40:40Irving play you know lost Calean this s which is where that place is.
- 40:45Yeah, yeah, that's great, okay, good. What did you?
- 40:47What did you? What did you? What's your go to are you.
- 40:51Are you a chicken Tika massala guy? Is that what I like that?
- 40:53No, it's a buffet. We get a little bit of everything. Okay,
- 40:55gotcha, because I was just gonna break everybody's heart and let everybody know
- 40:59chicken Tika massalas no Indian. So it's Scottish Now. I love the Uh.
- 41:05That's why at the london Er they had it on the menu and I
- 41:07was always confused. I thought it was just good old fashioned appropriation. It
- 41:12is a combination of both. It's a combination of like, how do we
- 41:15give everybody a little piece of actual London uh Indian food? So, but
- 41:21it's it was developed by an Indian guy and it was originated in Glasgow.
- 41:24He just died a couple of months ago, the owner of the founder of
- 41:28the creator of Chicken tick Massala. But he was used it for the marinade
- 41:31for the tendery chicken and he's like, I have to keep throwing this marinate
- 41:36out territory chicken. I love Yes. So it's basically the same marinade and
- 41:40then they just add a little heavy cream uh and some other spices to it
- 41:45and it becomes the chicken tik masalt. It's why it's it used to be
- 41:47like bright red, like tendery chicken, gotcha because of the Yeah, okay,
- 41:52good, so you get a little bit of everything, all right?
- 41:54You want to do? You know that there is other than you know,
- 41:59some electrolytes and and some sodium level type stuff. There is something else that
- 42:02will make me feel a little bit better. Birthdays, other people's birthdays make
- 42:14it feel better, Okay they do? Yeah, all right, Today is
- 42:17of course fred Day December eighth, my god, December eighth, and birthdays
- 42:23today. Tanner Buchanan is twenty five. He plays Robbie Keane, Johnny's son
- 42:31on Cobra Kai. I'm not sure if you guys have watched that series.
- 42:37We started watching it, we haven't finished it. I think part of the
- 42:39reason why is at a certain point you're like, are they ever going to
- 42:44call the police? Where's their school resource officer? Yeah? It's the greatest
- 42:51show. It is the greatest show on television ever. And I'll the Sopranos
- 42:57and then and then Cobraka heard dead like dead, I'm gonna go with that,
- 43:00and then that seems a bit extreme to me. It's really like,
- 43:04wait, wait, what season are you in? Uh? Oh, it's
- 43:10the season where there I think we're like one or two episodes before the big
- 43:16All Valley Karate tournament. Oh, it's about to get good. It's all
- 43:22right. Maybe just because of that, I go back and finish that season.
- 43:25Yeah, it's the best show like and it's so brilliantly done. And
- 43:29who knew how great of an actor William Zapka really is. He's really really
- 43:32talented. And I loved him not only in the movies that he did in
- 43:36the eighties because he played a really good jerk, but when he played himself
- 43:40on How I Met Your Mother, he was phenomenal in that. Yeah.
- 43:45Other birthdays today, let's see here. Nicki Minaj is forty one. Retired
- 43:52NFL quarterback Philip Rivers is forty two. He may be retired from football,
- 43:54but he's not retired from impregnating his wife. I think they're up to like
- 43:59thirty two kids now that really that would actually make just fifteen more children.
- 44:06And he has a full dress roster for an NFL team in reality, I
- 44:13think he's got eleven right, yeah, yeah, say eleven or twelve,
- 44:17so yeah, one more and he's got a full NBA roster. Yeah,
- 44:22but that's what I mean, you reforded that luxury when you have that much
- 44:23money, when you have I mean, like if you're I don't know if
- 44:27it's a religion thing or if it's just a a whatever it is for him,
- 44:30I guess he just doesn't believe in in contraception, and he certainly doesn't
- 44:35believe in pulling out. Isn't he Mormon? I thought he was. I
- 44:39don't know because when he Yeah, yeah, I believe he is. I
- 44:44could be wrong, but yeah, he's got the eleven or twelve kids now,
- 44:49and that's just that's just you need to leave that lady alone. That
- 44:52is enough. No, he's actually he's the other side of the coin when
- 44:55it comes to have as many children as possible. He is hardcore Roman Catholic.
- 45:00That's what it is. Okay. So that explains why he's a he's
- 45:01not using contraception, he's certainly not pulling out. And that explains why nobody's
- 45:07ever seen his wife in public. Uh, you can't. She's she's always
- 45:10delivering a baby. She's never upright. No, she's not, whether it's
- 45:16giving birth or making a new kid, she's never upright. Yeah, and
- 45:21it's sad too because look, I understand, you know you're trying. You're
- 45:23trying to you know, make more children and you know, proliferate the way
- 45:28God said to do to some degree in the Bible. As a Roman Catholic
- 45:31that Philip Rivers is. But I think at the end of the day,
- 45:35it's because no one showed him videos of how much fun pulling out can be.
- 45:42And also that the whole be fruitful thing in the Bible was when the
- 45:46earth had nine people, and that's when what you needed people to sustain.
- 45:51We have an Indian has proven we have enough people. India hit one point
- 45:55four billion. We're like when they littally cheered, they showed it on the
- 46:00Indian news, like we beat China. I'm like, is this the race
- 46:01we want to win? Not not to the moon, non finding a cure
- 46:06for cancer babies, that's what we want to win. Uh and uh and
- 46:10and yeah, one point four billion and for the point four Philip Rivers uh
- 46:15dead. Uh. So we appreciate him. It's nice of him to contribute.
- 46:21He did a small tour of India and the four hundred million kids were
- 46:24born. He's his own sacred river. It's like you go back to India
- 46:34for a comedy show or a tour. It's just gonna have You're gonna be
- 46:37crossing the Philip River. There's the Ganges and then the Philip. Oh God.
- 46:50Other birthdays today, Dominic Monahan. He played Charlie on Lost and the
- 46:52Hobbit Mehdi in the Lord of the Rings movies. He is forty seven today
- 46:58from Slip Knot and Stones Hour, Corey Taylor is fifty and Terry Hatcher turns
- 47:02fifty nine today. Wow. Probably my favorite Lois Lane. Okay, interesting,
- 47:13I like I liked her. I like I'm a big Erica Durance fan.
- 47:15I liked her on Smallville. I never watched that, so I really
- 47:20wouldn't know if that was that was high caliber as far as the Clark Kent
- 47:23and the Superman and the it's really good. Michael Rosenbaum, who's most people
- 47:29don't realize there's a stand up comment and not balt Uh. He plays Lex
- 47:34Luthor and he's excellent, so the I've heard that about him in the role.
- 47:37Yeah yeah, but if you got a chance to watch it, you
- 47:38know with your stomach pans are gonna be could be old up for a bit.
- 47:43You can watch the Cobra Kai finish that season, then watch Smaller.
- 47:47I think if I if I think, I think, if I watch too
- 47:51much more Cobra Kai, I will end up sphinxing in the tub. I
- 47:55think it'll be me sweeping my own leg right off. I think that's three
- 48:09movies. Now we have to write from this show alone. Wipe On,
- 48:17Wipe Off a Karate Saga film. God. We will see you tomorrow at
- 48:34Shakertons four to seven pm off an old road in North Dallas, across the
- 48:37street from the Galleria. Just go to Shakertons dot com click on the Midtown
- 48:42location. Bring a toy for the Warren Center and their special needs kids,
- 48:46as well as merch that will be there, the Roast of Me and it's

- 48:58Podcast road Show Christmas Party. See you there, m
