- 0:30whatever like that they were wearing when they watched yeah yeah yeah and i have pictures too
- 0:36of everything um and so youtube is by far our least used platform like we put it on youtube
- 0:46but it's you know there's no video it's just like the static logo with the sound right so
- 0:51we get maybe like four or five views on YouTube per episode, except for one of our recent episodes,
- 1:02which was called Naked Office Space, which has orders of magnitude way more views than any other YouTube video.
- 1:15And I think it's just because it has the word naked in it.
- 1:17And maybe because it's like,
- 1:19maybe someone was searching for like,
- 1:22do you think there's a version of Office Space
- 1:23but like everyone's nude the whole time?
- 1:27See, I would have just taken it as a compliment.
- 1:29Like, wow, everyone wants to see me naked.
- 1:32Everyone wants to see the friends naked.
- 1:34Everyone wants to hear us naked.
- 1:35Yeah.
- 1:37I just think that's really funny.
- 1:38Do you have stats on,
- 1:41do they just listen and then drop off?
- 1:43I haven't gone into YouTube to see what the like,
- 1:46like
- 1:47I'm sure it's like
- 1:49three seconds
- 1:49whatever it is
- 1:50but I haven't
- 1:51I haven't actually
- 1:52gone into YouTube
- 1:52as soon as they realize
- 1:53there's no nudity
- 1:54stay tuned for nudity
- 1:55we need a new message
- 1:56on all of our episodes
- 1:57I know we should have
- 1:57a thumbnail that's like
- 1:58the tits are coming soon
- 2:01Joe
- 2:01new assignment
- 2:02put the word naked
- 2:03in every title
- 2:04I was just gonna say
- 2:04listeners
- 2:05if you start seeing
- 2:06the word naked
- 2:07in all of our titles
- 2:08you'll know why
- 2:09trying to boost
- 2:11our views
- 2:11on YouTube
- 2:13I just thought
- 2:14that was really funny
- 2:14I just wanted to know
- 2:15which
- 2:16I haven't gone into the analytics on YouTube yet,
- 2:19but it would be interesting if they had what search terms brought people there.
- 2:25I would love that.
- 2:27You can see if they found it from a search or from a feed.
- 2:30Ah, well, yeah.
- 2:32We're about to find out.
- 2:33I know.
- 2:33Okay, well, I should have checked that out before bringing up this information,
- 2:36but I didn't think about it until...
- 2:38That's very funny.
- 2:39Yeah.
- 2:39That was worth the little laugh you did at the beginning.
- 2:43But it's my real laugh.
- 2:45You know what we should do right now? We should pause the podcast and get our words.
- 2:49I was just going to say, we should get our secret words.
- 2:53Hi.
- 2:54Oh, should I just save myself the trouble of recording it later and just say it now?
- 2:58Yeah. We promise not to listen.
- 3:01Quick interruption. Every week on the podcast, we do something where our producer Joe gives
- 3:08Francis and I each our own secret word. Throughout the course of the podcast,
- 3:13we need to find a way to slip the secret word into our conversation without the other person noticing.
- 3:21If the other person can correctly guess the secret word, they get a point.
- 3:25And right before we die, we add up all the points.
- 3:30And then we get a prize, whoever has the most points for guessing the most secret words.
- 3:36Here's Joe with today's secret words.
- 3:39Jenna's secret word is cheerleading.
- 3:41Jenna's decoy word is crises.
- 3:45Francis' secret word is sweetbreads.
- 3:48Francis' decoy word is sophistication.
- 3:51Back to the pod.
- 3:53They both guessed each word.
- 3:56Immediately.
- 3:58They both only had one guess.
- 4:01I didn't bother writing anything down.
- 4:03I still accidentally guess your decoy is the real one.
- 4:05It happened twice.
- 4:08Welcome to Very Fine Friends.
- 4:10Very fun naked friends.
- 4:12Ooh, la la.
- 4:15When you pick up this transcript and boost our episode.
- 4:23Yeah, real quick.
- 4:24Nude.
- 4:25Naked.
- 4:26Nudity.
- 4:27Vagina.
- 4:28That really sexy word, vagina.
- 4:31Yeah.
- 4:32Yeah, we never say words like penis on the podcast or anything like that.
- 4:38Excuse me, we weren't on gash.
- 4:40All right, I think we've been indexed properly.
- 4:48Good.
- 4:49All right, well, now, Internet, do your thing.
- 4:53Come on, you perverts.
- 4:54Come through for us.
- 4:55We have supported you so hard.
- 4:58The number of inventions that seem like they're catered just for you.
- 5:03You could do this one thing for us.
- 5:05I know, seriously.
- 5:06You owe us.
- 5:08Okay?
- 5:09They'll come through.
- 5:10Thank you.
- 5:10I have faith in the pervert community.
- 5:14Someone has to.
- 5:15I know.
- 5:16If not us, then who?
- 5:17If not now.
- 5:19When?
- 5:21Any exciting things happening in your life?
- 5:26Mm-mm.
- 5:28No?
- 5:28No, no, no.
- 5:30Actually, something, this isn't exciting.
- 5:31This didn't annoy me.
- 5:32So our house came off the market.
- 5:33Yeah.
- 5:34And then someone called my dad,
- 5:38because his number was like a backup number,
- 5:39and they were basically like oh i'm a realtor i have a client we're looking at houses in the area
- 5:43and we wanted to know if we could look at your house we know they just came off but
- 5:47you know whatever yeah so he called me he's like oh they want to look um i'm like well when he's
- 5:52like on 10 or 15 minutes i'm like this place isn't show ready yeah so i'm like zooming around
- 5:59like cleaning as fast as i can and then they never he called them and they never called him
- 6:04back or anything oh that's annoying what really annoyed me was i like even did a light mop
- 6:09It was amazing.
- 6:10That was like incredible.
- 6:11So I delayed mop.
- 6:12And I was the whole time I was so annoyed
- 6:13because I remember all through the previous week
- 6:15he'd been like, I'm going to mop today.
- 6:16And it was just playing in my head on loop.
- 6:18I'm like, you never did.
- 6:20He never mopped.
- 6:22There is nothing that bothers me more
- 6:25than when people say they're going to do something
- 6:28and then they don't do it.
- 6:30And not even just like, look, I get it.
- 6:32Stuff happens.
- 6:32And like, you couldn't do it.
- 6:34But then tell me that you now can't do that thing.
- 6:37Communicate.
- 6:38Exactly.
- 6:38like it's not like
- 6:39I'm gonna be like
- 6:40oh well you had to mop
- 6:41it's like no
- 6:41just tell me you can't mop
- 6:42and then it's fine
- 6:43have some sophistication
- 6:44oh that's the part
- 6:46that you were talking about
- 6:46I thought you were talking about
- 6:47the people that didn't show up
- 6:48well yeah that's annoying too
- 6:49but I'm just like
- 6:50I've experienced this
- 6:51so many times
- 6:51where someone's like
- 6:52oh like oh I'm gonna do this
- 6:53or like I can do this tomorrow
- 6:55and then they just don't do it
- 6:56and then don't communicate
- 6:57that to me
- 6:58right
- 6:59and it's like oh okay
- 7:00well screw me I guess
- 7:01yeah
- 7:02yeah
- 7:03it's annoying
- 7:03it is annoying
- 7:04well I'm very sorry
- 7:07do you think that was
- 7:08Dennis' devious way to get you to mop.
- 7:11I don't think Dennis is smart enough for that.
- 7:13I did have a moment where I considered that
- 7:15because I'm like, here I am mopping.
- 7:18But no, I mean, he knows how mad I get.
- 7:22How would you?
- 7:23Why play with that?
- 7:24He's not trying to wake the dragon, I don't think.
- 7:27Right.
- 7:29Did you yell at him?
- 7:30No, I mean, as far as I know, it wasn't his fault.
- 7:34Good point.
- 7:35I was, I was, we were aligned against a common enemy.
- 7:39Yeah.
- 7:40He likes that position.
- 7:41Yeah.
- 7:41Well, it's fun.
- 7:43And sometimes I'll be like in a heated, like, like a pacing mood and I'll be like telling
- 7:48it and I'll be like going off about something else.
- 7:50And then he's like responding appropriately.
- 7:52And then he says one thing that tells me that he did not understand anything I just said.
- 7:56And then I get like visibly disassociated.
- 8:00And then he like, he like scrambles and she's like, no, no, I got it.
- 8:02I got it.
- 8:03I'm like, I don't want to talk about this anymore.
- 8:05Too little, too late.
- 8:06I'm alone here.
- 8:07I've been alone, and I'll be alone.
- 8:10You're not alone.
- 8:11You have us.
- 8:12You have all of our listeners.
- 8:14That's right.
- 8:15And the way more viewers on YouTube, apparently.
- 8:19Thanks, YouTube, for being there.
- 8:21Yeah, thanks, pervs.
- 8:23Speaking of our pervert friends,
- 8:25it's time for the invention of the week.
- 8:30Inventions.
- 8:33What do you got?
- 8:35I invented a father who mops Just kidding No such thing It impossible Okay okay okay This is an experience
- 8:48A father experience.
- 8:51A mopping experience.
- 8:54Hold your horses.
- 8:56So here's what's going on in my mind.
- 9:02Here it is.
- 9:03it is a
- 9:05hey you know how there's um
- 9:08renaissance festival
- 9:10I do know that
- 9:12you know how there was rawhide
- 9:16I do know that oh my horses are really excited
- 9:19I'm glad I'm holding them
- 9:20peanut Tiffany calm down
- 9:22what's rawhide
- 9:22for those who don't know
- 9:24shut up
- 9:26writing that shit down
- 9:29that is hilarious
- 9:31oh my god
- 9:33rawhide for people who don't know uh it's in arizona and it's like an old westy type experience
- 9:40like i think they have like hey wag like i don't know it's like an old westy experience right but
- 9:46yeah like they do it every year on like a weekend no no it used to be open all the time and you
- 9:50could go in you could pay for gold um you walk around you there's like western saloon style shops
- 9:56yeah you can have like i remember it going just i went once as a kid they had some kind of dinner
- 10:01which was like barbecue and beans and stuff like that.
- 10:05But also there was like a hayride.
- 10:07Yeah, people riding horses.
- 10:09Yeah.
- 10:09Not holding them, riding them.
- 10:12Whoa, whoa.
- 10:13Peanut, Tiffany, get under me.
- 10:17Not for me.
- 10:18I'm glad that it exists.
- 10:19That sounds cute, but I also think I would not enjoy it.
- 10:22It's far away, I think.
- 10:24If it was closer, like it's a couple hours away.
- 10:26It used to be where, I don't want to say Westworld.
- 10:29Westworld in Scottsdale.
- 10:30It used to be at that location.
- 10:32That's 20 minutes from here.
- 10:33That must be when I went.
- 10:36Yeah.
- 10:36Because there's no way my parents...
- 10:37That makes sense.
- 10:37It's like hours away now.
- 10:38That also, that makes sense
- 10:40because they have all like the horse,
- 10:42like the equestrian stuff over there at Westworld,
- 10:44like the dressage and like stuff like that.
- 10:47Yeah.
- 10:49Great.
- 10:49Anyway, so now we've...
- 10:51Okay, so we love Rawhide.
- 10:52Yep.
- 10:53And Renaissance Fair.
- 10:55And Peanut and Tiffany.
- 10:57Never a doubt.
- 10:58um my invention is a wildly expansive immersive experience where we have a lot of land okay
- 11:09and you go there and it's like jurassic park but when you get there to check in you get to put on
- 11:19VR
- 11:20equipment
- 11:22before you go out into the park
- 11:24and then you get
- 11:26you're basically, it's like
- 11:28acres. So like, it's not like
- 11:30just a small room, you know, where
- 11:32it's like, okay, I'm done.
- 11:34It's like, you could be out there for hours.
- 11:36You know?
- 11:38Doing stuff.
- 11:40Running away. Hiding. We could have like a horror
- 11:42experience. So it's like
- 11:44a slasher and you're like hiding from
- 11:46the killer or whatever.
- 11:48you know and you're like
- 11:49hiding in houses
- 11:52going upstairs you know what I mean
- 11:54it all looks very real
- 11:56but
- 11:57I've never done a VR headset
- 12:00but I've seen videos of people
- 12:03like having them on and like being in the world
- 12:05or whatever
- 12:05like running upstairs and hiding
- 12:09and stuff
- 12:09how do you run upstairs without stairs
- 12:13no there's stairs
- 12:14so you just create an actual
- 12:17world
- 12:17then why not
- 12:19why not
- 12:19why have the VR at all
- 12:20why not just hire an actor
- 12:21or something
- 12:21that seems like
- 12:22throwing a VR headset
- 12:23on top of the stairs
- 12:24feels like a real
- 12:25fire hazard
- 12:26not fire hazard
- 12:27but like
- 12:28like personal
- 12:29injury hazard
- 12:30there's waivers
- 12:31of course
- 12:32but um
- 12:33because
- 12:35proprietary waivers
- 12:36no the
- 12:36I think the ones
- 12:37I have are fine
- 12:38no need to reinvent
- 12:40the wheel
- 12:40not this time
- 12:41next week
- 12:42it's a wheel
- 12:43no but hear me
- 12:45hear me out
- 12:46hear me out
- 12:46okay
- 12:47It's a lot more expensive to build, like, intricate or, like, fully formed spaces and to furnish them, you know?
- 12:55You could just do, like, industrial-style buildings, but when you have the VR headset on, it looks like a farmhouse.
- 13:02And, like, yeah, it's an industrial staircase, but when you have the VR on, it doesn't look like that.
- 13:06But, you know?
- 13:09So it's like a bare-bones set of stairs that could be, it could double as...
- 13:15or like a bare bones house structure that it could be a,
- 13:22a fun house for someone that wants to,
- 13:24you know,
- 13:26pretend like they've got a family that loves them or it could be a horror
- 13:29house,
- 13:29but you don't have to decorate it either way.
- 13:32Exactly.
- 13:32And we have themes.
- 13:33So it's like,
- 13:34Oh,
- 13:34this month we're running a horror this month.
- 13:36We're doing good for October.
- 13:39A hundred percent,
- 13:40which we are in.
- 13:41Mm.
- 13:43Mm.
- 13:43And,
- 13:44um,
- 13:44perfect timing.
- 13:45Yeah.
- 13:46God, I'd love to be in October.
- 13:49God, I love it.
- 13:51I love it.
- 13:52Oh, God, October.
- 13:52I want to be in you so bad.
- 13:54But think about it like this.
- 13:56It could be prehistoric.
- 13:59We have a dinosaur module.
- 14:01People are running from the dinos.
- 14:07Atlantis.
- 14:08You're underwater.
- 14:09I bet you a lot of people would do a Hunger Games VR.
- 14:11Oh, yeah.
- 14:12See if you can win the Hunger Games.
- 14:14That'd be cool.
- 14:15I don't know how you do that without actual weapons, but the idea is there.
- 14:24And the horror one, I bet you there would be a lot of groups of friends that want to be like,
- 14:28okay, which one of us is going to be the final girl?
- 14:30Like, who can make it, you know?
- 14:31Oh, when you get an award, final girl.
- 14:33Final girl, yeah.
- 14:34Do you get to, like in a horror movie, like have sex and then die?
- 14:42I'm sorry, have you seen Scream?
- 14:44Yeah, of course I've seen Scream.
- 14:47I have blood running through these veins, don't I?
- 14:50I have two eyes and a heart.
- 14:51Of course I've seen Scream.
- 14:53Scream.
- 14:56On the screen.
- 14:57You know, I believed you for a second.
- 15:01That's not what it's called.
- 15:02What?
- 15:09Tell me that wouldn't be fun, though.
- 15:10That would be fun.
- 15:12Here's what gave me the idea.
- 15:13Yeah.
- 15:14There's a lot of places that you'll probably never get to go that you maybe want to visit.
- 15:17How cool would it be if we could recreate like vistas and scenery from like countries that people may not get to visit?
- 15:24And you could like be on the Amalfi Coast, but not really.
- 15:28But it looks really like it.
- 15:30I think the biggest hiccup is really designing a world that you can, like designing a physical world that properly plugs and plays into all of these things.
- 15:42Needs to be multipurpose.
- 15:43Well, we are going to bring in the leading stage building talent.
- 15:48Oh, that's lucky.
- 15:49Yeah.
- 15:49You already locked them down.
- 15:50Yeah.
- 15:51And the ones that...
- 15:51Francois.
- 15:52Francois.
- 15:53Middle name, Francois.
- 15:55His parents.
- 15:57Yeah.
- 15:58Whimsical.
- 15:58We call him F3.
- 15:59His parents, not imaginative, but him...
- 16:03Off the charts.
- 16:03Off the charts.
- 16:04Yeah.
- 16:08What were we seeing?
- 16:10That you're bringing in the stage.
- 16:11Oh, and people who are going to retire and they want like a little self-clonal work, they're going to come.
- 16:15They believe in the vision too.
- 16:17So it's not all about money for them.
- 16:19You know?
- 16:20Now, is this a multi...
- 16:25Is this a multiplayer experience?
- 16:30Yeah.
- 16:31Yeah.
- 16:32Go with your friends.
- 16:33Okay.
- 16:34So like, but do you have to be plugged into the same simulation?
- 16:37It's not like, what if your friend wants to be on the set of Full House
- 16:41and you want to be in Halloween?
- 16:47And then, like, is your friend, like, in there like,
- 16:50hey, I'm baking cookies, and then you're like, I'm going to die.
- 16:54The second one is in Full House, right?
- 16:56Yeah.
- 16:56I think it makes sense that people are in the same module.
- 17:00It has to be like an escape room.
- 17:02Like, you guys can do the same escape room together as a group of friends.
- 17:05If you really want to do separate escape rooms, that's fine,
- 17:08but you have to make separate reservations and do separate payments.
- 17:10You'll take the shuttle an acre over here to where we're doing.
- 17:13Exactly, yeah.
- 17:14Yeah.
- 17:14Yeah.
- 17:15So it would just behoove everyone really Yeah Yeah Okay To what To do it together Oh What the point of having friends if you not going to do this together
- 17:27Yeah, like an escape room.
- 17:28Like if you and nine other friends went to an escape room and you're like, they're going
- 17:33to do this one, we're going to do this one.
- 17:35Well, I guess that's a lot of people that might actually make sense.
- 17:37But you know what I'm saying.
- 17:38Yeah.
- 17:38Yeah.
- 17:39Yeah.
- 17:40I just think this would be a lot of fun.
- 17:42I agree.
- 17:43Is VR technology really there?
- 17:45Yeah, the expensive stuff is good.
- 17:47Okay.
- 17:48The cheap stuff is bad.
- 17:50It's a price scale thing.
- 17:52Yeah.
- 17:54What do they feel like?
- 17:55Have you worn one?
- 17:57I did one for testing,
- 17:58and it was not intended to be realistic,
- 18:05the one I did,
- 18:06but it definitely disorients you.
- 18:08It's like I was in my office,
- 18:10and I was like moving about,
- 18:12and I knew to stay in like a little circle,
- 18:15because I didn't have that much room to go.
- 18:16So, like, you set the parameters when you do the settings.
- 18:20So, I'm, like, I'm not moving beyond the spot.
- 18:21And a couple of times, I, like, ran into something,
- 18:23because, like, you really do forget.
- 18:25Yeah.
- 18:25So, it's pretty, like, I don't know if it's,
- 18:28it's, like, when I watch a movie,
- 18:29I completely suspend my disbelief,
- 18:31and I don't even notice.
- 18:33Like, I watched a review of a movie I liked,
- 18:35and I'm, like, this guy hated this movie.
- 18:36And then he started making points, like, oh, yeah.
- 18:38Oh, yeah.
- 18:39But, like, when I was in it, I'm, like,
- 18:40I was just there to have a good time.
- 18:41Yeah, I get that.
- 18:42So, I think if you're whimsical,
- 18:45yeah yeah yeah and it's limitless think about it's infinite you could do any any sort of setup
- 18:53you want you could even just sit on a you could get on a bus and it could be like a train and
- 19:00you're like riding a european train through the scenery and i mean if this is so big that it's
- 19:06going to constitute some kind of transportation in between the various acres of the various
- 19:11experiences then that could be like a free
- 19:13like bonus thing like oh if you're going
- 19:15from this area to this area get on the train
- 19:17then you're in or like you're on the
- 19:19Hogwarts Express or something. Hell yeah.
- 19:22Hogwarts? You kidding me?
- 19:23Hmm. Yeah.
- 19:26How cool would that be?
- 19:27That one's going up. We're bumping that one up.
- 19:30Yeah so what kind of what other
- 19:31experiences do you have in mind? Like what
- 19:33do you think would be fun?
- 19:36Well I think
- 19:37the Magical Kingdom is
- 19:39going to be a huge draw um because then you have like a wand right so when you do like your magic
- 19:46you actually see like the magic yeah it's vr so that would be like kick ass um so that we talked
- 19:53about the horror stuff like slashers monsters just vacation stuff like i want to go see cool places
- 20:01i've never been um famous movie sets like famous like movie environments like oh i want to like
- 20:07go to all the places that were in Dumb and Dumber.
- 20:11You know?
- 20:12Yeah.
- 20:13That would be a funny one to do.
- 20:16You know?
- 20:17You could be in the...
- 20:18See, here's the application that I think this is...
- 20:21Que interesante.
- 20:24You could be in the movie.
- 20:27It's like you're not really...
- 20:28Like...
- 20:30Like we could cut out someone's part.
- 20:33You know what I mean?
- 20:34And you could be like interacting with Jim Carrey.
- 20:36You know what he's going to say
- 20:37because you've seen the movie, right?
- 20:39But now you're like the other character
- 20:40and you could like, you know,
- 20:43Josh around.
- 20:45Yeah.
- 20:48Um.
- 20:51So you could be at the bar at 10 a.m.
- 20:54Land on the moon.
- 20:55Yeah.
- 20:57Wow.
- 20:59I just think that'd be so cool.
- 21:01Yeah, that would be very cool.
- 21:03We could even have our own
- 21:06customized worlds.
- 21:07So it's like,
- 21:08oh, you're going to go into
- 21:09like a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids environment.
- 21:12Yeah.
- 21:13Where it's like everything's huge
- 21:14and you're tiny.
- 21:15Or the reverse is true, right?
- 21:18You're a giant and everything's small.
- 21:19Like, cool shit.
- 21:23Like a Diet Coke can suddenly looks mini.
- 21:29This guy gets it.
- 21:31Yeah.
- 21:31Yeah.
- 21:34Yeah, no, I think that
- 21:35this would really sell.
- 21:37The limit is just as long as it's properly designed
- 21:41so that the physical space actually works
- 21:43with what's in this headset.
- 21:46Yeah, because it's always funny to see those videos
- 21:48of people that like,
- 21:50like watching them do it
- 21:52and they think they're doing things
- 21:53or like they're very like gingerly,
- 21:55like stepping off like something
- 21:57or like someone gets excited and they run
- 21:59and they just smack into a wall.
- 22:01Hilarious.
- 22:02Hilarious.
- 22:02But it does show that the physical space around you
- 22:04needs to kind of match it does yeah and remember the waiver a christmas town yeah and then you we
- 22:12could even pipe in smells sense yeah and we could even have a this is so exciting we could even have
- 22:19a like like i don't know like when it comes to like food like there could actually be real food
- 22:24that like people could hand you in this environment yeah you're like in like a little christmas cafe
- 22:29and so someone hand you
- 22:30like a gingerbread man
- 22:31or something
- 22:32exactly
- 22:33god how good is that
- 22:35yeah
- 22:36yeah just make it like
- 22:37a Hallmark movie
- 22:38a Christmas
- 22:39people would go nuts for that
- 22:40they totally would
- 22:41I think especially with food
- 22:41because you could like
- 22:42sit down and have like
- 22:43lunch with someone
- 22:44in this like fake
- 22:45virtual cafe
- 22:46yeah
- 22:47and um
- 22:48I think holiday foods are
- 22:50cause it's like
- 22:51if it's not the holidays
- 22:52yeah
- 22:53you can't get that
- 22:54that stuff
- 22:55I censored shit
- 22:57yeah I don't know
- 22:58I don't know
- 22:58I was excited about Christmas.
- 23:00Yeah.
- 23:00I didn't want Santa to hear.
- 23:01I know.
- 23:03It's okay.
- 23:04He forgives you.
- 23:05Yeah.
- 23:06You've been a good boy.
- 23:07Cinnamon rolls.
- 23:09Mm-hmm.
- 23:10Other pastries.
- 23:12What are those sweetbreads called?
- 23:14That you tear apart during Christmas?
- 23:17I don't know.
- 23:18You know what I'm talking about, though?
- 23:19They have, like, they're very fluffy on the inside.
- 23:22They're very sweet.
- 23:24Um, no.
- 23:26Well, stick around me this Christmas.
- 23:27I guess I will.
- 23:28I'm looking forward to it
- 23:31um
- 23:33okay so holidays are big
- 23:35yep
- 23:35I think yeah
- 23:38movie experiences
- 23:40are big
- 23:40um
- 23:41futuristic
- 23:42something futuristic
- 23:43oh yes
- 23:44I love
- 23:45future stuff
- 23:47yeah
- 23:47like Blade Runner type shit
- 23:48oh there
- 23:49came right out
- 23:50see we're out of Christmas Town
- 23:51so
- 23:51yep
- 23:52yeah
- 23:52no censoring here
- 23:53yeah
- 23:54yeah stuff like that
- 23:55uh
- 23:56I personally don't care for the Old West.
- 24:00People do like the Old West.
- 24:01I know, me neither, but we gotta have it.
- 24:02It's like everybody's, it's all dusty and everyone smells.
- 24:04It's stupid.
- 24:04Why would you want to be there?
- 24:05They didn't have indoor plumbing.
- 24:07Don't go anywhere where there's no indoor plumbing.
- 24:10Right.
- 24:12Idiots.
- 24:15Yeah, you will have to keep your VR headset on
- 24:17while you go to the bathroom during this experience,
- 24:19just for the record.
- 24:20So you won't see us in the corner watching?
- 24:22Enter the pervs
- 24:26I was just thinking
- 24:28But this time we are the pervs
- 24:30Yep
- 24:30100%
- 24:32The pervies have become the perverts
- 24:35I think this would be awesome
- 24:37Yeah
- 24:39I think it would be too
- 24:40I think people
- 24:42The only problem would be
- 24:44People would want to live in those worlds forever
- 24:46Sounds like a recurring client base
- 24:49Yeah
- 24:49you could do like
- 24:51we could get a team of programmers on the case
- 24:54and then we could have that be a great way for ongoing
- 24:55income is people
- 24:57could request certain experiences and then
- 24:59we'll be like hey we'll build it for you
- 25:02for this price oh yeah and then rich
- 25:04people will oh for sure yeah build their
- 25:06own but then okay do we have a limit on
- 25:08what
- 25:09we will allow
- 25:11like a hundred percent there's going to
- 25:14be someone that wants to hunt people
- 25:15it's fake I think as long as it's people that
- 25:17we don't like I'm okay with it
- 25:19I like how we went
- 25:21two different tracks
- 25:21with that one
- 25:22yeah
- 25:22it's not real
- 25:23and Joe's like
- 25:23as long as it's people
- 25:24we don't
- 25:24wouldn't mind being dead
- 25:25in real life
- 25:26as long as it's real people
- 25:27that we hate
- 25:27no but you know what I mean
- 25:30like do we allow
- 25:31do we allow like
- 25:33snuff
- 25:33material
- 25:35uh
- 25:42we'll talk off pod
- 25:44um
- 25:45I don't know
- 25:47I think so
- 25:48As Rachel Maddow would say,
- 25:51it's purely for entertainment purposes.
- 25:53So I think it's fine.
- 25:55Maybe they just have to sign something
- 25:57where it like I promise that I not really gonna do this And also if I do this that it wasn inspired by me being able to do it now And if I do end up doing this later then I owe the creators of this VR experience for lying to them
- 26:13And bump it up.
- 26:15Big old wet kiss and say, I'm sorry.
- 26:20Thank you, baby.
- 26:23All right.
- 26:25Well, what do you want to call this?
- 26:25something about like other world
- 26:27you know or like
- 26:30something with like a channel like a remote control
- 26:34like a channel because you're like changing it
- 26:36you know
- 26:37I don't know
- 26:38simu
- 26:43simu
- 26:47something with simulate simulator
- 26:49escape world
- 26:50damn that was good out the gate
- 26:55escape world
- 26:57fuck I love that
- 27:00does it make it sound depressing
- 27:04like escape the world
- 27:05people understand
- 27:07oh I think it's cool like
- 27:10escape world the new like
- 27:13themed experience
- 27:15we'll put an exclamation point on it no one's gonna be depressed
- 27:17yeah okay
- 27:17question mark
- 27:20whole point of punctuation is to clear this stuff up
- 27:23nice nice
- 27:26we got a winner
- 27:27that's it
- 27:29no other names
- 27:30escape world
- 27:30exclamation point
- 27:31I meant we have a
- 27:32winner of a concept
- 27:33we can absolutely
- 27:34keep concept of a
- 27:36business
- 27:36oh oh okay
- 27:37I thought you meant
- 27:37the name
- 27:38no escape world
- 27:39is hard to beat
- 27:40I will say
- 27:40maybe something
- 27:42with imagine
- 27:43or imagination
- 27:44you know
- 27:47yeah
- 27:47now I'm just
- 27:50thinking of imagineer
- 27:51but that's a Disney
- 27:51thing right
- 27:52me too
- 27:52well I was thinking
- 27:53like
- 27:53imagine nearby.
- 27:55Imagine.
- 27:56Or something with lost.
- 27:58Is she getting lost in it?
- 28:02You're never getting off this island
- 28:03for the next hour
- 28:04or however long you paid
- 28:05for your time.
- 28:06An hour would not do it.
- 28:08Oh, yeah.
- 28:08This is a four hour.
- 28:10I feel like an hour
- 28:11could be like the minimum.
- 28:12That's like the bare minimum.
- 28:13For depending on,
- 28:13like, sure,
- 28:14if you just want to ride a train.
- 28:15Once you get a wand in your hand,
- 28:18you're not wanting
- 28:19to get out of there.
- 28:20Francis, we're talking
- 28:21about the invention.
- 28:22A wand in each hand?
- 28:23Wait, what?
- 28:23do you have any ideas
- 28:28um
- 28:31no I never do
- 28:36I'm terrible at the names
- 28:37that's not true
- 28:38yeah it is
- 28:39it's
- 28:43it's very true
- 28:46uh
- 28:46yeah
- 28:49simulator
- 28:50that's a great slogan
- 28:53Yeah.
- 28:54Yeah.
- 28:54Guess we'll simulate her.
- 28:56Yeah.
- 28:57I hardly know her.
- 29:05No, I don't know why I paused like I had something.
- 29:07I didn't.
- 29:08Okay.
- 29:09I did not.
- 29:10All right.
- 29:10Well, this is a one-name invention.
- 29:13Escape World.
- 29:15Yeah, I like that.
- 29:16All right.
- 29:16It's beautiful.
- 29:17Let's do it.
- 29:17Well, um.
- 29:19I think the best part is we only need a few million dollars to get started.
- 29:24Which is like nothing, by the way.
- 29:26Yeah.
- 29:27Yeah.
- 29:28Tiffany's friends.
- 29:31And peanuts.
- 29:33Yeah.
- 29:33Yeah.
- 29:36So, this will be a great...
- 29:38We'll have gift certificates available.
- 29:41Because it's going to be great stocking stuffers.
- 29:43so uh you know holidays coming up so if you want or if you want to prep for the holidays
- 29:52get in the mood i know it's october so you can get your simulation in now and then
- 29:57your halloween one your your murder escape oh and think about this we could put you on the
- 30:04world's most dangerous roller coaster that's just a a chair wouldn't that would have to move no but
- 30:11It does move.
- 30:12The chair is like a custom roller coaster chair
- 30:14that basically moves on multiple axes
- 30:17and you think you're in a roller coaster
- 30:22and it like actually does like move.
- 30:25It can tilt you upside down.
- 30:26But it feel like you had forward momentum.
- 30:31Yeah.
- 30:32Don't you know you can trick cats this way too?
- 30:34You can put a cat in a box
- 30:35and then look up on YouTube roller coaster
- 30:37and then you could shake the box a little
- 30:40and then like tilt it
- 30:41as the roller coaster moves.
- 30:42Cats love it.
- 30:43So do kids.
- 30:46But cats,
- 30:48theoretically,
- 30:49are not as bright as people.
- 30:51Anyway.
- 30:52Kids, I said.
- 30:54Kids are people.
- 30:55Who are bright as people.
- 30:58Well,
- 30:58this,
- 30:59the Escape Worlds,
- 31:00well,
- 31:01it's available now.
- 31:02So,
- 31:03get yourself tickets.
- 31:05If you're really rich,
- 31:06tell us what you want us to design.
- 31:08Francois,
- 31:09Francois,
- 31:09Francois,
- 31:10it will be on it.
- 31:12F3?
- 31:13F3.
- 31:14Good old F3.
- 31:16He hates that nickname.
- 31:17I know.
- 31:18But whatever.
- 31:19It works for us.
- 31:20And it's stuck now.
- 31:21And he doesn't want to look petty
- 31:23by like fighting it too hard.
- 31:25He like fought it a little bit
- 31:26and we just doubled down on it.
- 31:28No, he knows the more he pushes back
- 31:30the harder it sticks.
- 31:31Well, what was weird
- 31:31did you hear the other day
- 31:32when he referred to himself as F3
- 31:35but you could tell
- 31:36like he was trying to pretend like
- 31:37look guys, I'm okay with it too.
- 31:39and then it was like,
- 31:41bitch, you don't like this.
- 31:45You're not tricking us into stopping with this nickname.
- 31:49And actually a couple weeks before that,
- 31:52because I saw the evolution of this a couple weeks before that.
- 31:55Yeah.
- 31:57He wasn't on board with it.
- 31:58He tried to make another nickname happen first.
- 32:00No, he tried to force a different nickname.
- 32:02He was like,
- 32:05he got a soda from the soda machine
- 32:08and it didn't make him pay for it.
- 32:10And then everyone was like, oh my God, wow.
- 32:12And then he was like, well, I guess that's just classic triple Frank.
- 32:17And we were all like, what?
- 32:19F3, what are you talking about?
- 32:21And then he just walked away.
- 32:23And I think he might have been crying actually, but.
- 32:25Who did this?
- 32:26Francois, Francois, Francois.
- 32:27F3, yeah.
- 32:28Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:29F3.
- 32:29I'm there.
- 32:30Yeah.
- 32:31Well, yeah, I mean, you heard triple Frank and you were like, who is that?
- 32:34Right, exactly.
- 32:35Because it doesn't have the same.
- 32:36No.
- 32:36Triple Frank?
- 32:37What are you, super honest?
- 32:39Shut up.
- 32:39Yeah.
- 32:40Nice try, buddy.
- 32:42It's not going to happen.
- 32:45Well, F3 and the boys are on it.
- 32:49And it's available now.
- 32:51Go to veryfinefriends.com and get more information there.
- 32:57Good job, Francis.
- 32:58Thanks.
- 32:59All right.
- 33:00That wraps up the invention of the week.
- 33:03Good job, Francis, or F1 as we call you.
- 33:05Thanks.
- 33:08Like the race.
- 33:09Yeah.
- 33:11Well, it's time now for our next segment.
- 33:16Gotcha.
- 33:17Better watch out because you're about to get guts.
- 33:22Chud.
- 33:28You going to talk about it?
- 33:29I think the listeners will get a...
- 33:32Well, I think they'll understand what's going on.
- 33:35Uh, but we're just, we're just, Francis and I are going to be telling each other stories that we don't know about each other yet, which is hard.
- 33:43We've, we've told a lot of stories, but.
- 33:46Yeah, this is tough.
- 33:48Uh, you want to start?
- 33:50Um, sure.
- 33:54So there was this, uh, one time in high school, it was, um, like science fair time.
- 34:03and I was, I didn't care about winning.
- 34:12I didn't care about doing a good job.
- 34:13I just needed to get a passing grade.
- 34:15I knew I wasn't going to be doing anything science-based, right?
- 34:18So I was just going to do the standard volcano.
- 34:22I know.
- 34:24And so,
- 34:27it's baking soda, I think,
- 34:31that you put into it that makes it come out.
- 34:35Anyway, I'm not that bright.
- 34:40No.
- 34:41So, well, okay.
- 34:43okay, let me put it this way. When it comes to science, I'm not really focused. I don't care.
- 34:47So I, I got baking powder, but I didn't bother to test it. And so, so I put the baking powder
- 34:58inside the volcano and I went to like pour in like whatever, was it like vinegar or something,
- 35:04whatever the other activating agent is, and like nothing's happening. And so like now I've got a
- 35:10crisis on my hands, right? Because the teacher is watching this happen. Is this in front of the
- 35:15whole class? No, it's in front, it's like in the auditorium because it was like, it was a multi
- 35:19class science fair. It was like representatives from each grade. So like, and it doesn't matter
- 35:30how that, it doesn't matter how they work it out bureaucratically. But so, so like nothing's
- 35:38happening the teacher's watching and then i poured this vinegar in but then what i didn't realize is
- 35:42that there's um like i didn't properly seal the base of the volcano and so the when i poured the
- 35:54vinegar in it starts like seeping out the bottom i know and so now not only i now have multiple
- 36:00crises on my hands okay because not only is the thing not exploding but the it's like
- 36:07disintegrating from the bottom up.
- 36:10And the teacher is just,
- 36:11and I'm just like,
- 36:12just give me a freaking C.
- 36:13That's all I care about
- 36:14on this stupid thing.
- 36:15And I already did the most
- 36:16trite thing possible
- 36:17by making the volcano.
- 36:22And so then, like,
- 36:25so then I, like,
- 36:28I ran to my car.
- 36:31I had, like, in the car,
- 36:33I had a bag from CVS.
- 36:35It had shaving cream in it.
- 36:37So I just started spraying the shaving cream.
- 36:41Like, well, the t-shirt had gone into, like,
- 36:42and then I was spraying the shaving cream inside the volcano,
- 36:46like, hoping that it'll look like, oh, I finally did it!
- 36:49I finally did it!
- 36:51And it, but then it didn't work because it was, like, the gel kind.
- 36:57So it didn't make foam, it made gel.
- 36:59And so then, like, the t-shirt comes back,
- 37:01and there's just, like, this blue mess on top.
- 37:03And, like, the volcano is now, like, half the size.
- 37:07And anyway.
- 37:08Oh, my God.
- 37:10I got a D.
- 37:11No.
- 37:12Gotcha.
- 37:15No.
- 37:16Oh, you did get me.
- 37:17I gotcha.
- 37:18No, I invented a real time machine and I aced that science fair.
- 37:22That's.
- 37:23What?
- 37:24Yeah, that's the real story.
- 37:28I'm actually amazing at science.
- 37:30Okay, thanks.
- 37:31Anyway, I was just, I just thought I'd razz you.
- 37:33You got me.
- 37:34I gotcha.
- 37:35You did get me.
- 37:35that reminds me of something that's not related at all
- 37:39I can tell you about it
- 37:40you know I spent a lot of time in Mexico
- 37:43as a child
- 37:44and
- 37:45we used to resort hop
- 37:49so
- 37:50my dad would like sneak into
- 37:53whatever like
- 37:54resort pool
- 37:57area that we weren't supposed to be in
- 37:59because we didn't have a band
- 38:00but he like knew all the best places to go so we would like sneak
- 38:03in
- 38:04and um he would like get i don't take a drunk but he would like go like drink at the cabana
- 38:11or whatever and i would like swim in the pool and um well i was always embarrassed i was i was always
- 38:20embarrassed in like every situation i think i told you my grandpa used to like sneak forced me
- 38:24to go to like multiple movies that we didn't pay for oh yeah yeah yeah like i'm always like
- 38:30oh god I'm gonna be perceived and so like I was always nervous because I knew we didn't have a
- 38:35band and like I could not relax I could not have fun because the whole time like I'm we're gonna
- 38:40get found out we're gonna get kicked and it did happen we did get kicked out of like pools that's
- 38:44a high stress level as a kid to yes pay for the day pass yeah and especially if you know that
- 38:51feeling of being kicked out and like that embarrassing feeling is embarrassing yeah
- 38:55Right?
- 38:56You're telling me I'm not supposed to be here.
- 38:58Yeah.
- 38:59Hate it.
- 39:00Anyway, so one time I was getting out of the pool and one of the people that worked there
- 39:07saw they didn't have a band and they pointed at me and yelled in front of everyone, like,
- 39:12you need to get out of here.
- 39:15Gotcha.
- 39:15Oh.
- 39:16No, really.
- 39:17I get out of the pool and I wrap the towel around my breasts like a lady.
- 39:23And my dad walked away.
- 39:25I saw the ladies doing it
- 39:29I didn't
- 39:30Know why they were doing it
- 39:31And
- 39:33So I just tied it up there
- 39:35Like started walking around
- 39:36I wish I could say gotcha to that
- 39:41But that's what happened
- 39:42I believe you
- 39:43Yeah
- 39:43I'm gonna tell another high school story
- 39:47That's okay with you
- 39:50It's preferred
- 39:51Okay
- 39:52I don't know how it was in your high school
- 39:57In our high school gym was weird
- 39:59I went to an all girls high school
- 40:01That is weird
- 40:02Yeah
- 40:03But it wasn't always traditional sports stuff
- 40:08So there was
- 40:11There was
- 40:14Like what
- 40:16I don't know why I thought this would be a good idea
- 40:19But I could have either
- 40:20We could have either done, like, we had a choice in, like, for, like, a six-week period of what we were, or not six weeks.
- 40:26It was less than that.
- 40:27It was for, like, three weeks maybe.
- 40:30Like, this is what you're going to be learning for these three weeks.
- 40:33Like, and we would have it not every day, but they would, like, rotating schedules anyway.
- 40:37That's not the point.
- 40:38Again, I don't want to get into the bureaucracy of high school and how they monitored things.
- 40:45So I had a choice between tennis and cheerleading.
- 40:48and I chose cheerleading.
- 40:52You did?
- 40:53Yes, because I thought it would be funny.
- 40:55And it was funny to see me try to do that
- 41:00because I was absolutely terrible at it,
- 41:03as you can probably imagine.
- 41:05And I should have just done tennis.
- 41:08But I...
- 41:11Like, everyone else was taking it seriously
- 41:14and I just...
- 41:16I was like, no one else is doing this, ironically.
- 41:18And I was the only one and I couldn't do like any of the gymnastics stuff, but like a lot of these girls could.
- 41:27So I'm just like, like the lone idiot in the corner.
- 41:32And, uh, yeah.
- 41:35Wow.
- 41:36But like, eventually they just were like, okay, just, you know, just stand in the back and try not to, try not to get in the way.
- 41:43and I wrote out my three weeks and it was fine.
- 41:47But I learned my lesson to not really do things ironically
- 41:50that are going to take a lot of time.
- 41:52Oh, that really sounds tough.
- 41:54Gotcha.
- 41:57What?
- 41:58I know.
- 41:59Can you believe it?
- 41:59What do you mean?
- 42:01How'd you get me?
- 42:02The real story is sophomore year, everyone had to do a dance.
- 42:07You would pair up and you'd do...
- 42:09This has nothing to do with rotating sports?
- 42:13No.
- 42:15Well, no.
- 42:16In which things are led.
- 42:18No, but the sophomore year, the sophomore class,
- 42:20at the end of every year, would do a dance.
- 42:22Like, that was their thing.
- 42:25And I was, so you'd pair up, like, you'd group up,
- 42:31and then, like, you'd have to do your own choreography and everything.
- 42:34And it was myself.
- 42:35We had myself, my friend Ellie, Keisha, and Tara.
- 42:43Keisha and Tara were very good dancers.
- 42:45Yeah.
- 42:45And they were both very good.
- 42:47Ellie and I were not.
- 42:48We were like the least coordinated people in the school.
- 42:51And so they like did all the dancing in the front.
- 42:54And then they were like,
- 42:55okay, Jenna and Ellie,
- 42:56you standing back just behind us
- 42:58and you just need to come up with something
- 43:00that like a four count And so what we came up with was what we called the Coke can And it was listeners you won be able to see this but it like a four count And so what we came up with was what we called the Coke can And it was listeners you won be able to see this but it like holding a can in front of you
- 43:12popping the lid, putting it to your mouth to drink and coming back down.
- 43:16That was our four count. They were like, okay, fine.
- 43:19Which I especially love that because the fourth count of one measure is the same as the first
- 43:23count of the next measure. So it's technically not a four count because the last move and the
- 43:28first move are the same well well no there's the finality of just the well it doesn't matter
- 43:34anyway that's the real story wow thank you for telling me that
- 43:40um hmm story for you story for you story oh
- 43:53I hope this isn't
- 43:56I hope this isn't too dark
- 43:58but
- 43:58when I used to live up in Anthem
- 44:03That is too dark.
- 44:09When I used to live up there
- 44:10so we
- 44:11we
- 44:13I'm mad about it now
- 44:14so we sold our
- 44:15I say we
- 44:15I was like a literal child
- 44:17sold our house
- 44:18in North Phoenix
- 44:19to go move to Anthem
- 44:21which now that
- 44:22you know when you look
- 44:23back and like man if we just stayed in that house um anyway we moved to moved up to anthem
- 44:29we bought the ugliest house that was a spec house that was available because it was like
- 44:35already built and my dad wanted to like put like a lowball offer on it and they were like they're
- 44:39not going to take that and my dad's like you have to submit it that's the rules so like they submitted
- 44:43the offer and they took the lowball offer it was such an ugly house that like like it had pink
- 44:51tile
- 44:53and green carpet.
- 44:55And I mean like light green carpet
- 44:57and pink tile.
- 45:00Like baby pink?
- 45:03It was kind of like a swirl
- 45:05of colors, but it was like
- 45:08pink and green was the colors of our house.
- 45:10Yeah.
- 45:10So we lived with it.
- 45:12And then it took forever to sell this house.
- 45:13We wanted to sell it because nobody wanted it.
- 45:16Yeah.
- 45:16And everyone tried telling my dad
- 45:18like, replace something.
- 45:21right, change the carpet.
- 45:23The tile would probably be like neutralized
- 45:25if you change the carpet.
- 45:26He like didn't want to do it.
- 45:27And he did like weird things to this house.
- 45:28Like it was a two story
- 45:30and the laundry room was upstairs
- 45:31with all the like secondary bedrooms.
- 45:34And he cut, he put a door into the laundry room
- 45:41to go out onto the back.
- 45:44What was now a patio,
- 45:46which was just the covered patio for like downstairs.
- 45:49He like made a balcony on the back of the house and it was so like ugly because he just put a door, a regular door on it.
- 46:02So like when you're driving behind the house and like you look up, you just see this like normal fucking door, like a bedroom door that goes like.
- 46:13anyway um that house on that street um i actually got hit by a car what gotcha oh
- 46:24actually that is the location where i was passed up by an abductor
- 46:29yeah i was walking to get the mail and this car like a stereotypically like abductor car
- 46:39pulls up it is like slowly coming up behind me and like so i turned because i heard the car
- 46:45and i and you were like pick me pick me no first i was like oh oh god like what's going on because
- 46:50he was like following me very slowly and then like i'm almost at the mailbox and like i turn
- 46:57and the guy's like looking forward to like look me up and down and then takes off oh
- 47:02And I was like
- 47:05Well that's rude
- 47:06Gotcha
- 47:08I was abducted that day
- 47:10No
- 47:14No
- 47:17Anyway isn't that crazy
- 47:18I'm sorry
- 47:21So it didn't have a
- 47:23It didn't have
- 47:24A weird door
- 47:26No it did
- 47:27Oh okay
- 47:28That wasn't the part I was gotching
- 47:29Ah
- 47:30Yeah
- 47:31And then I drove by the house years later and they took it off.
- 47:34They restored it to its former normal glory.
- 47:37Thank God.
- 47:38Yeah.
- 47:40We got our car stolen out of that garage one time.
- 47:45And this pisses me off to no end.
- 47:48So it was a car my dad was borrowing.
- 47:50It was a Blazer.
- 47:51Someone's, this was the time when it was popular.
- 47:53People had like fake clickers where they could like go around and like try people's garage doors.
- 47:58Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 47:59They got ours.
- 48:01stole the car out of the driveway we didn't know it was gone
- 48:04found out because my dad went to leave and the car was gone his wallet he always left his wallet in
- 48:10the car and like keys everything important he would always leave in the car and so we were like
- 48:18part of the sting basically they're like oh we think the car's at because my cousin was like in
- 48:22law enforcement he's like we think the car's at this casino so we like go to the casino we're
- 48:25looking for the car it was like with all this stuff or whatever he still leaves his shit in the car
- 48:30to this day.
- 48:33That,
- 48:34wait,
- 48:34doesn't he park outside?
- 48:36No.
- 48:36Okay.
- 48:37Well,
- 48:37one of his cars is.
- 48:40Uh,
- 48:41that's,
- 48:42he has not learned his lesson?
- 48:43No.
- 48:44And I'm always like,
- 48:46I lock the door
- 48:47between like the garage
- 48:48and the house.
- 48:49Yeah.
- 48:50I'm like,
- 48:50I'm not making this shit,
- 48:51I'm not making this shit
- 48:52any easier.
- 48:54You know?
- 48:55Yeah.
- 48:56Well,
- 48:56you've learned.
- 48:58Hmm.
- 49:00Gotcha.
- 49:01What? You haven't learned?
- 49:02No, I'm kidding.
- 49:03That was just a bonus story.
- 49:04All that was true.
- 49:08Well, I think we've learned a lot about each other.
- 49:15What do you think, Francis?
- 49:17Yeah.
- 49:18Do you want to get me one more time?
- 49:21Oh, do I have one more story in me?
- 49:23Do you?
- 49:25Punk?
- 49:27Let me think.
- 49:27Yeah.
- 49:30Yeah, I could probably do another one.
- 49:32Okay.
- 49:33High school?
- 49:33Just for old time's sake?
- 49:37Sure.
- 49:38Yeah, let's do another high school story.
- 49:40Okay.
- 49:44So, I was on student council.
- 49:51Yeah, I could see that for you.
- 49:54Junior year, I was the president of my class.
- 49:56Of course you were.
- 49:57Yep.
- 49:57Madam Perez.
- 49:58Yep.
- 50:00And I, uh, so it was, I was, I don't think I was a very good president because I didn't, like, I was not like super in it.
- 50:15Like, I just did it for fun, basically.
- 50:18I just wanted to see if I could win.
- 50:22But then I had, like, responsibilities and stuff.
- 50:24So I think we were kind of like that year our class was kind of the we were like the animal house of classes.
- 50:33And so we had to make for the homecoming.
- 50:41Each class had to design a float.
- 50:44And the float had to look nice and be indicative of something.
- 50:53If your class, like, was supposed to look like a parade float, basically.
- 50:57Yeah, sure.
- 51:00Ours did not.
- 51:01It was very, like, slap-tash.
- 51:02It was very funny looking.
- 51:03There was a blow-up doll on it.
- 51:06It was a different time.
- 51:08I know.
- 51:09Uh...
- 51:10But it was, like, it was com...
- 51:11Ours was comical.
- 51:12It looked slapped together,
- 51:14but, like, in a way that I thought was hilarious.
- 51:16But, like, other people had, like, other grades.
- 51:18Like, it all looked really nice.
- 51:20And, um...
- 51:22I It just did not look good Um and But it like I don know how to do any of this And I was like all right yeah you guys like whatever you want to do
- 51:33like we'll slap it on there.
- 51:35This is how the blow up doll
- 51:36came to be on there.
- 51:38And eventually
- 51:39we got in trouble for it
- 51:43and I was impeached.
- 51:47But administratively?
- 51:48Yep.
- 51:49Gotcha.
- 51:50Gotcha.
- 51:50Oh,
- 51:51I forgot we were doing that.
- 51:53Okay.
- 51:54I wasn't impeached then.
- 51:57I was kicked off student council later.
- 52:00By whom?
- 52:01By the administration.
- 52:03They can't do that.
- 52:04They did.
- 52:06They did because they said that I skipped walk-a-thon.
- 52:10Which you did.
- 52:12They had no proof of this.
- 52:16But they just had this feeling that I did.
- 52:18And I was like, you can't prove anything.
- 52:20What is Walkathon?
- 52:21It was some stupid thing where it's like, you've got to walk these many miles and you get sponsors or whatever.
- 52:31How is that related to Stugo?
- 52:33But why do you need to do the actual watching?
- 52:38Why do you have to do the actual walking if you already got the money?
- 52:40We got the money already, baby.
- 52:42They don't care if we walk.
- 52:45No one's monitoring this.
- 52:47Was this the thing where you tried to like gaslight everyone into thinking that you were there by being like, no, no, no.
- 52:53Like I saw you.
- 52:55Here's the thing.
- 52:57I didn't have to gaslight people.
- 52:59They were self gaslighting.
- 53:02I had people come up to me afterwards and be like, Jenna, wait, you're like in trouble for this.
- 53:08I was like, I know.
- 53:09Can you believe it?
- 53:10My guidance counselor was like, I saw you.
- 53:14I waved to you.
- 53:15And I was like, I know.
- 53:17I had friends who were like, I remember passing you and like waving behind you.
- 53:22And I was like, I know, but they don't believe me.
- 53:24But other people were coming on my behalf to tell me they saw me at Walkathon.
- 53:29Why would they levy this accusation at you?
- 53:32Because they didn't like me.
- 53:33They definitely did not like me.
- 53:35To be fair, it was true.
- 53:36That's beside the point.
- 53:37But they didn't have proof.
- 53:38And they knew that they didn't have proof because...
- 53:41So now I'm being held responsible, even though I don't think I should be, which I am anyway.
- 53:45But no, but they didn't have proof.
- 53:48There was one meeting where like they pulled me into the dean's office and literally every single powerful person at that school was there.
- 53:57I was sitting in a chair.
- 53:57They're all standing up in this like this little office.
- 54:00This is draconian.
- 54:02And the dean is like, we know you did it.
- 54:05Just tell us that you did it.
- 54:07And I'm like, I don't know what to tell you.
- 54:09I was like, I was there.
- 54:11Like never once wavered.
- 54:12Never one time.
- 54:14And then they were like, just tell us.
- 54:15We know you weren't there.
- 54:16And I was like, I don't know what to tell you.
- 54:18And they're like, well, then how come you can't tell me, can't give me a huge list of names of people that saw you there or that you saw?
- 54:24And I was like, I don't know.
- 54:26Like, I was like, do you remember every person?
- 54:29It was like everyone was doing it.
- 54:30It's like the whole school was there.
- 54:32I saw the whole school.
- 54:34And they're like, you don't really, you didn't notice any specific people.
- 54:38and and then i was like you the only thing that you're proving is that i'm self-involved which
- 54:43you already think anyway so what is and then they were nice so i got a bunch of detentions but they
- 54:49never proved anything and they kicked me off student council they punished you for not having
- 54:53no proof yeah i know and later i told my guidance counselor about this she didn't know about it at
- 54:58the time and she was like they never even asked me i would have told them i saw you there and i
- 55:02was like thank you it's too late now but i appreciate that can you just tell them anyway i
- 55:06I know.
- 55:06Well, it's too late now.
- 55:07So what are you going to do for me instead?
- 55:09Yeah.
- 55:09Anyway, that was true.
- 55:14No gotcha?
- 55:14No gotcha on that one.
- 55:16Wow.
- 55:16That's my one last story.
- 55:18Thank you.
- 55:18That was really...
- 55:20All right.
- 55:21Well, now we've learned a lot.
- 55:25Yeah.
- 55:25And that wraps up.
- 55:28Gotcha.
- 55:29Or does it?
- 55:29Yes, it does.
- 55:30Gotcha.
- 55:31No, I gotcha.
- 55:36It's time now for our final segment, The Big Question.
- 55:41The question is very big.
- 55:45Okay.
- 55:45You got something for me?
- 55:46Yeah, I got something for you.
- 55:47All right.
- 55:50I'm going to have you do a little world building for me.
- 55:52Oh, okay.
- 55:53My big question is a big challenge.
- 55:56Oh, okay.
- 55:57The challenge is to, because I was thinking about this earlier because we were discussing the VR escape world.
- 56:02when I thought,
- 56:04you know how we don't really have
- 56:06any really good theme parks here?
- 56:09Yeah.
- 56:10And there really aren't that many
- 56:12in general to go to.
- 56:15I really like Knott's Berry Farm
- 56:16and I think it's very unique
- 56:18for a theme park personally.
- 56:19Yeah, no, no, I did say here.
- 56:21You mean like where we live?
- 56:22Yeah, where we live.
- 56:22Oh, sorry.
- 56:23I was thinking about the country at large.
- 56:25I agree with you.
- 56:25Thank you.
- 56:26And the country at large
- 56:26does have some good options,
- 56:28but we need more.
- 56:28That's where you come in.
- 56:29Okay.
- 56:30I want you to design a new theme park
- 56:32and you're going to tell me what it like what it's called like why does it exist right like
- 56:40obviously disney has a purpose nonsbury farm has a purpose metro center has a purpose i mean it's
- 56:45not called much uh castles and coasters yeah um so you're going to design your own theme park
- 56:50tell me about the why it exists the founders and like what's unique about it and what are the rides
- 56:56okay
- 56:57ooh
- 56:59ooh
- 57:00okay does that do
- 57:01okay
- 57:04I have an immediate and quick idea if you want a little time
- 57:07to flush out
- 57:09I mean I have an idea too but throw yours out real quick
- 57:11yeah just real quick just to get like
- 57:13you can flush out your idea more and make it
- 57:15okay
- 57:15and make it better you know
- 57:17that's not what I meant sorry
- 57:19no my idea is
- 57:23Divorcelandia
- 57:24and it's for children of divorce
- 57:27to be able to relive the experience
- 57:29of having their parents divorce
- 57:31but it's a fun way.
- 57:34So they could have like a roller coaster
- 57:35where it's like, who gets custody?
- 57:38And then there's like
- 57:39the spinning, the ride could be like
- 57:43your mom's new boyfriend.
- 57:45Do you call him dad?
- 57:46Do you not call him dad?
- 57:48Turn left for no, right for yes.
- 57:51You know, stuff like that.
- 57:52Or how long?
- 57:57Yeah, I don't know.
- 57:58How excited do you act about your dad's studio apartment
- 58:01that you have to go to on the weekends?
- 58:04One of them is just a big house,
- 58:06and you're in it and you've got to hold on
- 58:07as the house breaks apart, literally.
- 58:11And it's being broken by some 25-year-old skank named Shelly.
- 58:16Okay.
- 58:17That's pretty good out of the gate.
- 58:19Thank you.
- 58:19Thank you.
- 58:20and I'm standing by the name
- 58:22it's going to be called Divorcelandia
- 58:25that is final offer
- 58:27no compromise
- 58:27uh
- 58:30okay
- 58:31so
- 58:35okay so my
- 58:37idea would be
- 58:38similar to themes that I've had in the past
- 58:41where I like to like
- 58:42say like if I could get away
- 58:45with it I'd sneak into like people's
- 58:47houses do stuff like that
- 58:49It would be a whole, it would be like a whole set of neighborhoods and other people's houses.
- 59:01And you'd be able to like sneak into them.
- 59:03So there'd be like actors in the houses and like, or sometimes they could be empty.
- 59:07You wouldn't know.
- 59:08But it's like, how can you sneak around and like, and then like look through people's stuff.
- 59:14And like, how long can you go without being noticed?
- 59:17so it would be a whole like sneaky village.
- 59:20Okay.
- 59:21And there would be like
- 59:24like challenges
- 59:28that you see if you can accomplish.
- 59:31So it's not just like,
- 59:31you're not just like walking
- 59:32and it's like,
- 59:33and just being like,
- 59:34oh, whatever.
- 59:35Like they saw me, who cares?
- 59:36It'd be like, no, no.
- 59:37You need to see if you can like
- 59:38get like the left shoe
- 59:43out of this closet But you know Dr Kevorkian left shoe was the first name that came to my head Sorry The only doctor name that comes to your head Everything okay Um anyway
- 1:00:00uh, or, or, or like, then some of the rides could be like, hide in the backseat of their car and see
- 1:00:09if you can drive to the grocery store
- 1:00:12without them knowing it or things like that.
- 1:00:15So it'd be a lot of like sneaky stuff.
- 1:00:18And then what are the stakes?
- 1:00:19What happens if you can't do it?
- 1:00:22We could have varying stakes,
- 1:00:23like different parts of the land where if,
- 1:00:29because like you'd want a kid's area
- 1:00:31where it's just like, oh, we caught you.
- 1:00:33Like, whatever.
- 1:00:34Like, or if you wanted to have lower stakes,
- 1:00:37but we could be like higher stakes with harder challenges for the people that like get really
- 1:00:43into it and intense and if you get caught you get thrown out like you're done oh so it's like
- 1:00:49you need to be like and you're allowed to come with just like a certain degree of equipment not
- 1:00:54a lot so it's not like you can but it's like then people would have to be creative of how they
- 1:00:59because like you also have to then you need to be convincing if you're
- 1:01:03you need to be convincing if you're in the world.
- 1:01:10Like, if you're in a public area, that's free zone,
- 1:01:13but people can interact with you.
- 1:01:14So if someone sees you coming out of somebody else's house,
- 1:01:17like, if you get caught that way,
- 1:01:18you need to convince them that you are allowed to be in there.
- 1:01:21And so you'd have to be, like...
- 1:01:23I'm an actor.
- 1:01:25You're, like, a good...
- 1:01:25Yeah, you'd have to be able to come up with...
- 1:01:27I'm part of the staff.
- 1:01:27Good...
- 1:01:28I'm Dr. Kevorkian.
- 1:01:29Yeah.
- 1:01:30It's my left shoe.
- 1:01:33Yeah.
- 1:01:34So.
- 1:01:36That's interesting.
- 1:01:37I like that.
- 1:01:38Yeah.
- 1:01:38It reminds me of like, what's the thing they do here?
- 1:01:41The corn maze.
- 1:01:44You know what I'm talking about?
- 1:01:46Yeah.
- 1:01:46They probably do that a lot.
- 1:01:47The maze maze.
- 1:01:47It's called, it has a name.
- 1:01:48I can't remember the name.
- 1:01:49But anyway, like you're in it and like you, people can chase you and stuff like that.
- 1:01:53I think immersive experiences are fun.
- 1:01:56Yes.
- 1:01:57So very on, kind of on brand with our.
- 1:02:00Yeah.
- 1:02:01What would you call this?
- 1:02:03I don't know.
- 1:02:08I'm terrible with names.
- 1:02:09You know that.
- 1:02:10Well, maybe Joe could pop one out.
- 1:02:12I came up with Dr. Kevorkian on the fly.
- 1:02:15That's where I went.
- 1:02:16That's not exactly a current reference.
- 1:02:18I know it's not.
- 1:02:20Joe?
- 1:02:24Joe's on the toilet.
- 1:02:25Um.
- 1:02:26Pillage Village?
- 1:02:35PV.
- 1:02:36Oh, I don't know about that.
- 1:02:37I like that.
- 1:02:38Yeah, something like that.
- 1:02:40Yeah, I like that.
- 1:02:41Something with town or village.
- 1:02:43Okay.
- 1:02:43Yeah.
- 1:02:44Perfect.
- 1:02:46All right.
- 1:02:46Well, thanks.
- 1:02:47Great job.
- 1:02:50I've successfully answered.
- 1:02:52Okay, that wraps up The Big Question.
- 1:02:55The Big Question.
- 1:02:56Okay. All right. We know what a time it is. It's the final bit of business time.
- 1:03:02You sound exhausted.
- 1:03:03It's secret words.
- 1:03:04We know what time it is.
- 1:03:05Well, I don't think I have it, so I'm going to go first, if that's okay with you.
- 1:03:09Okay.
- 1:03:13Is your word prehistoric?
- 1:03:15No.
- 1:03:16Thank God it wasn't your decoy word.
- 1:03:18I know. You would have got up and left.
- 1:03:19I know.
- 1:03:21Module?
- 1:03:21No.
- 1:03:23Dumber?
- 1:03:24No.
- 1:03:25You just really want to be in the set of Dumb and Dumber?
- 1:03:28That was just the first movie I thought of.
- 1:03:29It was good.
- 1:03:30It's funny.
- 1:03:32Resort?
- 1:03:32No.
- 1:03:34Breasts?
- 1:03:35I wish.
- 1:03:38Balcony?
- 1:03:39No.
- 1:03:41My last guess, Abductor?
- 1:03:43No.
- 1:03:44Dang.
- 1:03:46My word was sweetbreads?
- 1:03:49Oh, I'm glad I didn't say it.
- 1:03:51Because I was going to say sweetbreads are a different thing that's not bread.
- 1:03:55Oh, nice.
- 1:03:56But I didn't.
- 1:03:56So you did kind of clock it.
- 1:03:59Something jumped out at you.
- 1:04:00Something did.
- 1:04:01Yeah, dang.
- 1:04:02Okay.
- 1:04:02And my decoy word was sophistication,
- 1:04:05which I said something about like return to sophistication or something,
- 1:04:08but then Joe started talking and I think it got lost.
- 1:04:10Ah.
- 1:04:12I was weighing whether or not to repeat.
- 1:04:15Ah.
- 1:04:15But I didn't know if you'd heard it.
- 1:04:16Yeah.
- 1:04:17So I just let it be.
- 1:04:18Because I thought,
- 1:04:19I wasn't sure how I was going to slip sweetbreads in there.
- 1:04:22That is a weird thing to say.
- 1:04:23Yeah.
- 1:04:25So is there actually a Christmas bread that's...
- 1:04:27No.
- 1:04:27Okay.
- 1:04:28So I won't stick around you this Christmas.
- 1:04:31What?
- 1:04:32No.
- 1:04:32Sorry, I was in it for the breads the whole time.
- 1:04:35All right.
- 1:04:35I'm going to make some guesses.
- 1:04:36Okay.
- 1:04:37For you, peanut.
- 1:04:39Nope.
- 1:04:39Peanuts.
- 1:04:40Nope.
- 1:04:41Tiffany.
- 1:04:44Trite.
- 1:04:45Nope.
- 1:04:46Finality.
- 1:04:47No.
- 1:04:49Snuff.
- 1:04:50No.
- 1:04:51I saw you write that down.
- 1:04:52I thought that was funny.
- 1:04:53Homecoming.
- 1:04:53Nope.
- 1:04:55walk us on.
- 1:04:57Nope.
- 1:04:58Thank God.
- 1:04:59Just get this out of the way.
- 1:05:00Kevorkian.
- 1:05:01No.
- 1:05:02He was a real suicide doctor,
- 1:05:04not my word.
- 1:05:08Village.
- 1:05:09Mm-mm.
- 1:05:10Pillage?
- 1:05:11Nope.
- 1:05:13All right, now here's,
- 1:05:14here's where things get a little interesting.
- 1:05:19Yes, they do get interesting.
- 1:05:20Is your word
- 1:05:25Bureaucratically
- 1:05:29No
- 1:05:29Is it bureaucracy
- 1:05:35No
- 1:05:35Equipment
- 1:05:38Yep
- 1:05:39Got one last word
- 1:05:42And
- 1:05:46You know what it is
- 1:05:50and I just have to decide which way I'm going to go.
- 1:05:54Word or decoy?
- 1:05:56Word or decoy?
- 1:05:58I think I know what you're getting asked,
- 1:06:00but I don't actually know if I know.
- 1:06:05Okay.
- 1:06:09Is your decoy behoove?
- 1:06:11Oh, no.
- 1:06:12It's not my real word either.
- 1:06:14You said it so...
- 1:06:18Jenna says that word fairly often.
- 1:06:20And I always say it would behoove.
- 1:06:22That's how she did it.
- 1:06:23That's how you did it.
- 1:06:24No, but I guarantee you,
- 1:06:25if you go back through our previous episodes,
- 1:06:28you can hear her say that same word
- 1:06:29in that same way at some point.
- 1:06:31Yeah.
- 1:06:31Well, that was the last thing I had.
- 1:06:32Oh, I thought for sure you,
- 1:06:34I thought you wrote.
- 1:06:35I saw you writing when she said it.
- 1:06:38Yes.
- 1:06:38Like three seconds after I said it,
- 1:06:40you wrote,
- 1:06:41and then you even kind of obliquely reference,
- 1:06:45like that you.
- 1:06:46Is your word obliquely?
- 1:06:48No.
- 1:06:48You kind of like obliquely referenced it by kind of not saying the word.
- 1:06:54You kind of like danced around it.
- 1:06:55Yeah, you did.
- 1:06:56Oh, no.
- 1:06:57What is it?
- 1:06:57Actually, no, you definitely wrote it down.
- 1:06:59Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:06:59Did I not say it?
- 1:07:00I don't think so.
- 1:07:03Was it close to anything I said?
- 1:07:06No.
- 1:07:07It wasn't peanut, huh?
- 1:07:08You for sure wrote it down.
- 1:07:10I saw you write it down.
- 1:07:12What is it?
- 1:07:13My secret word is cheerleading.
- 1:07:18And then you said something about rotating sports.
- 1:07:22Like, you kind of gave me a look like I'm not saying tennis.
- 1:07:25I'm not saying cheerleading.
- 1:07:26Oh, I was thinking gymnasium.
- 1:07:28Oh.
- 1:07:29Yeah.
- 1:07:31So anyway, that was my decoy word and my decoy word was crises.
- 1:07:35That one did jump out at me and I forgot to write it down.
- 1:07:38Shoot.
- 1:07:39Well, I guess maybe it's good.
- 1:07:40Maybe you would have guessed it as...
- 1:07:42That's true.
- 1:07:42That is true.
- 1:07:43You never know what worse decoy or bad decoy saved you from.
- 1:07:48Amen, sis.
- 1:07:50All right.
- 1:07:50Well, zero points on that one.
- 1:07:55Nothing lost, nothing gained, but a good time had by all.
- 1:07:57Yep.
- 1:07:57All right.
- 1:07:58Well, until next week.
- 1:07:59Bye.
- 1:08:00Bye.
