- David: He tried, he tried, he tried to find somebody better than me, and so far, no luck. So you're stuck with me for another week of whiskey and winners. If is as if you needed another reason to drink midweek, this is one of I could not go whiskey today. I don't know if I could show it, but had to go straight beer today. Greg has his cup over there, but I'm pretty sure it's just sweet tea or whatnot. Nothing fancy. Greg: Water in case it case. David: And Of Brian, of course, with that got a lot of money. He's got some money. I mean, just look behind him, that's so much money. What are we drinking on today, Brian? Before we get started, what are we drinking on? Brian: We are drinking on some Old Forester nineteen ten from Whiskey Row in Louisville. I felt like that was a a good selection. It's a easy drinker, and it's a good selection for one of the games we might be talking about tonight. Greg: We've got a little action in Louisville David: If Greg: this weekend. David: Yeah, if you will if you'll see, Brian is actually filming from Florida State's ranking and it's way down below 'cause we're up above him. He's way down there. I don't know what's with this skylight we got going Brian: Yeah. David: here, but he got his camera in the ceiling fan. But Brian there was some big Mr. Nobles, there some big news in Florida State this weekend. I don't know if you can hear, but that was one shoe dropping. You wanna give us a little insight on what happened with the old seminose? Brian: Yeah, they let go of the athletic director, Michael Alfred. Felt like that was coming. that's obviously probably the first domino to fall of many. You're gonna see a few more get let go here soon. I pretty much believe that that might be the nail in the coffin for Norvell. So usually if you bring in a new A D, he's gonna bring his own head coach. He's not gonna tie his job to Norvell, which I don't think that would be a good idea to do anyways. So I assume that's coming. I always had picked at the beginning of the year that it was going to happen after Miami. Now there's some rumblings it may happen after Alabama. So we'll just see what happens. David: Do not cry for Mike Norville because if they fire him before, I believe december first, he's gonna walk away with a cool forty six point seven million dollars to not do your job. How about that? Well you know, I s I always ask myself, why does Coach Tyler keep plugging alone? Like why don't he just now I know why. All he needs is to get it one job and get fired at the right spot and he's set for life. That is a good Sweet gig if you can get it. Greg: It's also a major significant microcosm of exactly what's wrong with our society. David: One hundred percent. You get paid to fail. Seems to be the storyline. We'll we'll save that. We'll Greg: I wish somebody paid me to go away. David: save that for common sense superheroes, but there's some stories we can go over that big big breaking news today. I know you guys did a recap. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get in on it, but I know y'all went over all the big plays from the weekend. But humor me if you will and give me a little bit about this past weekend. I know I watched a good amount of football, a decent amount and Obviously we were hyped for it. I was pumped for it. The Texas, Ohio State game lived up to the hype somewhat. Lived up to the hype. But I know Greg had made a big call, bold call that I was like, Come on, bro, that ain't happening. And it did. So what was some big moments? Brian, w we started with you on the talking about Florida State, but Gregory, let's start with you. What were some big moments from the past weekend that stood out to you? Greg: You know, I I I hate to sound like a broken record, but when Brian and I were kind of regrouping on Sunday morning or Sunday afternoon, went four or four on the official plays, but I'm telling you, I feel like I'm reading the board well. I I was telling Brian, my the model's hitting damn near seventy percent. So it's it's not an issue of understanding what's going on. We're just not selecting the right games to make wagers on. but as I'm watching games unfold, I I very rarely do I feel like something's catching me off guard. There's only been two or three games all year that I really feel like I was just off on. Georgia Tech's one of those. I I was off on Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech is not as good as I thought they were. And and I just have to I have to own that and we've moved them down. But the rest of it, I I feel good about where we're going. what I would suggest is if if you listen to the first two episodes we've done of this, the first two full episodes, it pay attention to what we said. And look, it's not something you should not be blind following any of us. You should not be firing your money at these games just because one of us likes a side. But what you should be doing is paying attention to the the information we're giving you to kind of read between the lines, so to speak, hear what we're saying and use the information and use us as a resource. Because I said I didn't have an official play on Michigan. But if you were leaning that way and heard what I was saying, maybe that would have pushed you over the edge to you making an official play on Michigan. And that's that's how we can be helpful without you just coming on here to blindfollow our picks. That ain't the goal. The goal is to to provide a little analysis, to provide some insight and maybe some angles that you hadn't considered. And just to be another resource. If you're if you're listening to just Brian: Mm. Greg: this show and deciding on putting your money down based on what me or B. Noble says, then you need to seek help. David: Well, I kinda wanted you not to go over the gambling part, just go over the football games, okay? Can we not just enjoy it for one minute before your degenerate gambling gets in there? He can't help himself, folks, but I appreciate that. Before we do get started on the gambling start, remember let's have a little fun with it. Don't get crazy with it. Although I will say when you put you put something on the line you can't really afford, that's when it that's when it hits the vein, son. That's when you like watching it and you gripping the remote control. That's when it's and when it gets good right there. But don't do that. Do that, Brian. Don't do that, okay? Don't Brian: This is David: bust into your bourbon budget and put everything on the line, okay? Greg went over a little bit. He he Greg called Oklahoma. He caught it outright. He kudos, my friend. One of several upsets and one of like there have been a whole bunch of upsets if you were based on first half stats. But what stood out to you, Brian, the first this second week? Brian: Yeah, it was w Greg: Or we technically. David: Say third week, we don't count week zero, but second week, what stood out? What was something that shocked you? What was something that you liked? Okay, that confirmed what I thought. Brian: The Texas Ohio State game was was a good one. I mean, I was I had wrote off. I thought Texas was on the verge of being blow blown out there for a minute. But Greg: Yeah, but you didn't post it on Facebook. David: You didn't post it on Facebook. I took the the heroic move of putting Well, there goes his Heisman. Well, not so fast, my friend, as they used to say. Not so fast, my friend. Lee Corso, shout out. Don't really miss him on the show, but I missed the old Lee Corso, not the new one. Not when he was couldn't look like Biden. But go ahead, Brian: And then David: I'm sorry. Brian: you're good. Then Michigan look like like a typical Kyle Whittingham team. I mean they played good defense, did what they needed to do, controlled the game. I mean, Greg did good calling that. I didn't see it that way. But they they look pretty good. David: Nobody did. Brian: No. And then Georgia Tech, I'm with Greg on that. I very much did not get that right at all. They they're getting they're getting beat up up front. bad bad and that's not like a brentkey team. So I'm gonna have to watch them a little bit a little bit further before I do anything else with them. But the the good one David: The Ohio s go ahead. Brian: for the weekend is was Montana State. They did what they were supposed to do and and beat that FPS team like I told you they would. David: Remember when I I we went over this. We went over this. When I was talking about degenerate gambling, that's what I'm talking about. We go out over the weekend. It's about, you know, Montana State hit. I'm like, okay, let's just ease up. I know we gonna get to Brian: Ha ha ha. Greg: You do know the name of the show is Whiskey and Winters, right? David: that part. Jeez, Brian: Mm-hmm. David: we just try to have a little fun at the beginning. Man, you know I don't gamble, so I'm trying to get my stuff out of there. I did call it at halftime that there's no chance Arch Manning is gonna win the Heisman. And he didn't listen, he didn't blow nobody's socks off. He didn't come out and show out. Now the one I did say that he's gonna have to move around if he's got to use his athleticism to make stuff happen, and I was right about that. But Ohio State, wow, didn't see that coming at all. We have a new number one, that is Texas Longhorns, baby. The Longhorns of Texas showed out in the second half, made it happen. Whatever you can say. They did it. They they ended up making a hell of a comeback. I thought it was over. No questions asked. Sarkeesian was upset at halftime. Then he got upset after the game. Did you watch him just diss Holly Row? Did you see that, Greg? Greg: The yes, and and David, there's some nuance to this. As a head coach, if I see a hundred thousand people storming a field that my team is still on, I might be willing to skip that interview and go try to get my team off the field and in the locker room and and try to control things because that can get a little hairy. And I I get the images, and Lord knows, like everything else, it got blown way out of proportion with the AI stuff, and now Arch is an a-hole because he laughed at an AI video. Good lord, people, grow up, stop taking all this shit so seriously. no, great kudos to Texas, shout out. But hey, look, moving them up to number one is a slap in the face. Us dog fans are happy to see them up there, and Lord knows they David: Yes. Greg: don't want to see us anytime soon. Cause let me tell you, they may be number one in the nation, but ask them how it feels to play the dogs. That ain't worked out well for lately. David: It has not, but I do agree with the fact that you gotta if you have beat a number one Ohio State, you you gotta move up the top spot. You can't move Georgia up 'cause I mean as great as they've looked, my gosh, they look great. We've played nobody. We've played zero. We'll see a little bit this weekend. I think it's Arkansas. But can I Greg: think on I think on my my episode yesterday of Belize Ballots and Bulldogs, David: Mm-hmm. Greg: I think I referred to the first two Saturdays as something along the lines of it looked like we were committing football crimes against schools that had no ability to do anything about it. Like it just it w it was almost even hard to watch in the second half. David: I try not to get excited because I mean we we're playing nobody, but boy Nate Fraser, man, you give him the ball, he runs tough, son. I'm talking about it looks great. And I understand it's you know, the teams we're playing, but still, like f at early in that second game, he had had like what, six touches with four touchdowns? I mean, can I interest you in that? I mean obviously he's not gonna keep up on that streak, but my gosh Greg: Yeah, st statistically after two games, Nate is a otherworldly at this point and he doesn't have the David: Yes. Greg: volume of carries to qualify, but I don't know how you get the highest man anybody else with the stats he's got. David: Man, if he keeps his obviously it's not gonna keep up like that, but he's still running tough. We we don't know. We ain't got to see him in the second half. We haven't seen Gunnar Stockton in the second half. I if I had to be a little bit of a pessimist, I didn't like a whole lot of what I saw with towards that third and fourth quarter. The depth is not as thankfully that's we're talking deep, deep in the old roll call, but still it didn't look didn't look as great. I had a few sloppiness that I didn't care for. Greg: Yeah, I I I think that is much more a product of the fact Brian: Okay. Greg: that it was darn near a hundred degrees. They had just survived a monsoon that had rolled through and dumped about three inches of water all over I I think everybody was just ready to get the heck out of there. I don't like the sloppy play, but me being the eternal optimist and and I mentioned this on on BBB too, it the good news is now we get to roll into Arkansas and Kirby's already pissed off, and that is just how I want it. Brian: Yeah, I think David: Now I like him pissed off. Brian: I think those twenty points that Western Kentucky got was the worst thing that could have happened to Arkansas. David: Yeah, that that set the standard. It was like we can't have this. I don't want to be there. Tuesday normally I believe is the tough day. Is it Tuesday? Yeah, Tuesday. And boy, Greg: Mm-hmm. Bloody Tuesdays. David: I bet they are I bet there was some cussing going on yesterday. But even if you're playing a peewee team, if you put me out on the field right now with some seven and eight year olds, it's still gonna be tough for me to score seventy. So if you play scoring seventy against somebody that's doing their everything they can to stop ya, we put what, sixty three the week before and then seventy? I mean it's still impressive. Oregon, Brian, what happened to you the ducks? What I mean, good grief. Are Brian: Yeah. David: they just a sham? Brian: They sure look like it right now. I know I picked them to win the national championship at the beginning of the year preseason, but they they don't have any room for error now. They can still make the playoff. They can th and luckily for them that was early. But they sure did not look good. They're getting whipped up on up front and Dan Lannon's defense not looking like you would expect it to look. David: They screwed me because I put some pick six. I didn't know we had pick six on DraftKings, but I did a pick six, but I only did like four, I believe. I don't know what you call it. It's not a parlay per se, but I had Arch getting less than two touchdowns, which I was right on. I hit on that. I believe I had Jeremiah Smith scoring a touchdown or so. I but Dante Moore, two hundred and fifty nine yards. I thought for sure he's gonna get that. Nope, he didn't. Screwed me. My fifteen dollars. It was awesome 'cause I went on to DraftKings. I was like, I don't know if I had this app. Brian: Mm-hmm. David: And I had twenty seven dollars in there. I don't even know where the hell it came from. So I blew fifteen on this thinking I'm about to win a hundred and seven bucks. These are easy. Nah lost all that money. So I'm down to next nothing. Greg: I I would be willing to bet at this point having gambled as long as I have and over the years of all the different offshore accounts. So I bet you I've got four or five hundred dollars. David: You probably got money. Greg: Yeah, I've got hundreds of dollars laying around in random accounts, who knows where. Can can't access if I wanted to. David: But the cowboys of Oklahoma State, who's the guy? D T Boone Pickens? Is he the guy that made all that? T Greg: T-Boon, yep. David: Boon boy, I tell ya. Mike Gundy smiling somewhere. I'm a four I'm a man, I'm forty, dammit. Oklahoma State rolled up in there and took care of took care of business. Thirty nine to thirty one. Okay, what's Doggy Doggy? Greg: Now, I will tell you, and again, that that was definitely an unpredicted result and unexpected result. I think all of us were higher on Oregon than than we seem to be now. but that's not sure. Like that is not an easy place to go in there and play. Now, Oklahoma State, that stadium, those folks are right on top of you. They're banging David: Yeah. Greg: them paddles against the bat. That is a loud, noisy stadium. that is one of those that that is a distinct home field advantage. Now, I'm a Dan Landon guy 'cause of his time in Athens, but Lord knows the the Pac twelve in the Pacific Coast has made that dude soft. They they're in the Big Ten now, but it's st it's still Pac twelve football. it ain't no good out there, and I think they've made him soft. Oregon's right there with Georgia Tech. I'm not moving them down as far, but I'm I'm not seeing Oregon the way I thought I would this season. David: Oklahoma State back in the eighties, and I'm almost certain it was back to back. Can I interest you in a back to back with Thurman Thomas and then give you Barry Sanders? Is there a better back to back running back that running backs that happened like that that went on to the pros success? I mean, come on. Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders? Jeez Louise, Brian: Okay. David: how about embarrassment of riches? Brian, did you see the Run Barry Run documentary on Prime Video? Brian: Yeah, that was I would have loved Barry Sanders David: That was Brian: to get the play out that whole career and not have to retire early. It would have been amazing to see what he would have done. David: It would have been he would have not even been close. But the best part about that video is that documentary, which I recommend going to watch and I love Barry Sanders, he was one of my faves. but his dad was such an Oklahoma fan. That Joker didn't even root for his own son. That Joker Brian: Ha ha. David: rooted for Oklahoma over Oklahoma State. I'm sorry. As big a diehard fan as I am of the dogs, If my kids playing somewhere else, I'm sorry, I'm all I'm just gonna root for them. I mean that's just how it is. Greg: I mean, David, aren't you aren't you faced with that right now, having to pull for the Gators and some twelve U baseball stuff? David: Gators, this I it's so hard. I don't know if you saw I had to chat GPT it just into a bulldog uniform just to make it feel good. We are the damn Gators. my god. That's of all the teams. Of all the teams. That's hard to do. But it Greg: Well if you don't start getting into some damn winters, we'll be here all night. You know that, right? Don't David: I gotta get it out, Greg. Greg: you don't you have things to do tonight? David: People love this show. I know I missed out on the homecoming. Greg: Ha ha ha. David: I just took sent them on. That's why I was late getting on. I was getting them out the door. But there were quite a few qu possible upsets. Alabama struggled a bit at first. LSU didn't look great at first. Obviously they came back and made stuff happen, but it was a it was a fun weekend. I thought we were gonna have an upset weekend going about it. Greg, what just Greg: It's coming. There's there's still gonna be that one weekend that just destroys everybody. It happens every year. David: We do have some big games this weekend. One bigger than most. One that so far every week we've had a game that I'm like, I cannot wait and I will not miss this. I will drink coffee late in the day. Whatever I gotta do to make it happen, and we got that this weekend as well. But we'll start out, we got you said start out we're gonna start out with Houston at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders. Red Raiders is giving up seven and a half. Total over and under is fifty three and a half. That seems like. Based on Houston from the past and Texas Tech, we could probably have quite a little shootout there going on. Who wants to start with Texas Tech and Houston? Friday at eight o'clock. We got a Friday game in the mix. Greg: I'll I'll I'll jump in on this one. I I don't have an official play at the seven and a half. I will say I I lean towards Texas Tech laying the points. I I got a little bit of lean towards the under, believe it or not. I think this Texas Tech defense is underrated. And I don't put a lot of credence in what Houston did last week against a nobody team. I I will say, although it's not an official play, it's it's a lean right now. If it gets to seven, and absolutely if it drops through that seven to six and a half, I will have some action on on Texas Tech. if you see a seven out there, I would grab it. But as of at seven and a half, it's probably just a lean. But we talked about Oklahoma State in that home field environment. Lubbock on a Friday night is an absolute home field advantage. I think Texas Tech probably wins this by double digits. I just don't like laying a seven and a half. but I I got a pretty strong lean there. And if I can if I can see a seven pop up on the board, I will probably grab it. David: Okay. Brian, what say you, my friend? Brian: I'm on the I'm on the opposite side of that. I mean, Texas Tech I thought was gonna run away with a big twelve this year. They have not looked good to me, especially in the secondary last week at Oregon State. They gave up four hundred and three yards through the air. Now you got a veteran quarterback, Connor Wegman coming in with Houston. I'm I'm almost in the Texas Tech's gonna have to prove it to me mode. they brought in Tommy David: Ooh. Brian: Castellanos as a quarterback. Backup quarterback, red zone quarterback. I like the line at Houston when it was nine and a half. I don't like it as much at seven and a half. It's too much line movement for me. I would I would lean Houston plus the seven and a half, but I don't like it at that. I would rather it be closer to the ten, but I think they keep it keep it closer. Greg: Look let me interject here this is just to make a point, because this is a good one to do it on. That I want to make an emphasis on just how much the number matters. Because what we're basically telling you is that neither one of us has an official play at that seven and a half number. I 100% agree with Brian. If it was nine and a half or ten, I would probably be on Houston. If it gets to seven, I would probably be on Texas Tech and likely will be, because I think that's where it's going. So a as we as we put this information out there to all you guys again. Don't just blindly jump on a team because we say we lean that way or we like the points matter, the spread matters, the number absolutely matters in football more so than any other sports you gamble on, because that three, seven, ten, those types of numbers are crucial in a football game. So again, pay attention to the analytics that are go behind this and and use this as information to make your picks, but let them be your picks and just let us help you coach along the way. David: No, do like I do and base it on people that they had in the past. And Andre Ware used to throw it, son. Houston has been known to let that ball air out. I believe they got was was it Klingler that has like the all-time record? He used to sling it. David Greg: David Klingler, yes sir. David: Klingler would sling it, son. Are we talking about Hawaii when Colt Brennan used to throw it 70 times a game? Houston will air it out. I know they're going into Texas Tech. That might be a problem, but let's face it. It's Texas. I mean, we're all looking at Texas. It ain't that far away. I don't know how well Houston travels, but maybe Joel Osteen will let him out of Friday church a little early and they can go f go out there and do it. But I'm taking Houston. Maybe give me Houston and the seven and a half. I don't I'm new to the number game, but just give me Houston. So make it happen. Brian: I like it. David: I'm here for it. That's how I base it off of the past. Speaking of past. did anyone y'all want to touch the fifty three fifty three and a half over under? Did you say that? Brian: Yeah. Greg: Well, I I lean towards the under. Like I said, I it it seems like an odd number because David: Under Greg: I think I think people think like you do, I and especially with Houston putting up what seventy last week. That's another one of those where just the fact that that number is sitting where it is at I I think now it's down to fifty two and a half, it's coming down for a reason. I saw it at fifty three and a half and I lean under. it's come down as far enough now where again it's another one I wouldn't touch it at this point. But I mean at at fifty three and a half, fifty four and a half, I I think we might go come under that number. Brian: Friday Friday night games usually do come under, but like I was talking about the reason I'm staying away is just Houston secondary. I mean not Houston secondary Texas Tech secondary has not looked good at all. David: I think the good thing is the fact that it is Texas. I mean, you got Houston playing Texas Tech, so nobody has to travel really far, so their practice schedule's not changed too much. I mean, I don't think it would throw it off. Greg: David, ha have you have you ever had the opportunity to drive across the great state of Texas? David: Well, that's a good point. Now it is big, but I'm assuming if it's far I don't I don't know the distance. Greg: Houston is I do Houston I've been to Houston many times. Houston is pretty pretty much on the eastern side of Texas and that's a big old state, my friend. David: They can make it happen. They'll it's they all probably live in that area, but still. It's better than going out to play Washington Huskies on a Friday night. There's no time change. Greg: They're not changing time zones, at least you got that right. David: Yes, there's no time change exactly. Brian: At least it ain't, you know, Cal or Stanford having to come to Boston to play a Atlantic Coast conference game, but hey, here we David: Exactly. Brian: are. David: Thank you, Brian. Brian, thank you for agreeing with me. Greg just wants to be a contrarian up there in the old top left corner. That's where he is in mine. Greg: It's worked for me for so long. David: Let's see if we're able to see a little bit of second half play by Gunnar Stockton and one Nate Frazier. If we don't see them, that's a good sign. I would like it. But the Georgia Bulldogs, the number two ranked, stayed put. It's playing again at Saturday at 12 o'clock. We got these 12 o'clock games, which is nice. I like it. Playing the Arkansas Razorbacks in Arkansas. So the Georgia roughly twenty four and a half to twenty five and a half favorites. Total around fifty four and a half. Wow, that's weird. I feel like we could get that on our own, but so Georgia's giving up, let's just say call it down the middle and say twenty-five at Arkansas. The Bulldogs. We won't go to the Bulldog first, we'll go to the Seminole and get his take. What say you, Brian? Brian: Georgia averaging, like you said earlier, 66.5 points a game. the worst thing like we talked about earlier that happened was that Georgia gave up 20 points. So you're gonna see them fired up. I don't like Arkansas's quarterback at all. I mean, they just got beat down 43 to 10 by Utah. This game, I don't see it close. I mean, it's a road game in SEC, but Georgia's got the veteran quarterback. That's not going to phase him at all. I have two official plays in this game, actually, and it'll be, it'll both be first half plays because I don't know that after the first half, it's going to too much matter. I got Georgia minus 13.5 for the first half. And I also have Arkansas's team total under seven and a half for the first half. David: Hmm. Interesting. Greg: Brian, what's that Georgia team total for the full game? Just out of curiosity. Brian: Mm, I I'll have to look that one up for you. Greg: All right, look that up while I'm telling people what I think. All right, so here's the thing. I've told you guys from the get go, I can't be objective on Georgia Games. I'm not even gonna try to pretend that I can. My model is begging me to lay the 24 and a half, 25. I don't think this is gonna be close. I would be surprised if we don't win by 30. But I've told you guys it's an emotional thing. I cannot lay 24 and a half, 25 points with my team on the road in the SEC. can't do it. It just it doesn't feel right. but objectively, I think it's Georgia and the under. I I don't think Arkansas's gonna see a lot of points. And this it this has this has 37 to 10, 38 to 10 written all over it with Kirby just milking the fourth quarter, going, hey nobody will score in this quarter. I that's the way I see it, I've eaten Georgia covers. I think the game stays under, but I want no part of either one of them just because it it's hard for me to get the emotion out of it. once Brian comes with that Georgia team total, though, I might have some interest in that because I just if it's anything around thirty, thirty four, I don't see how we don't get there. David: I can't explain it. Go ahead, Brian. Brian: Thirty nine and a half. Greg: Mm. I'll think about it. If I if I end up with something on that I'll put it out on a social media later, I d I'm not gonna instantly jump on thirty nine and a half, but I do I 'cause again, I th I think thirty eight to ten is a very likely score. David: I can't explain it, but there's something about this that I feel like it's not a trap game 'cause I do think Georgia's gonna win, but I think it's gonna be a little bit of a fight. I think something's I don't know, Arkansas can get a little little pig suey out there. They can get a little crazy. If it was a night game, I definitely would think different. But a twelve o'clock game, we're talking what is it? A couple hour difference, throwing it off, so you're looking at kids playing what a Different odd time. I don't know. I just feel like it's gonna throw off a little bit. They're playing a little earlier than you normally would be playing. I get it it's curby they're gonna happen, but I think it's gonna be a struggle in that first half. And I think the second half they're gonna pull away, but I think we may be looking at twenty one points maybe, possibly, but I don't see them covering the the twenty five twenty four and a half. Greg: I my only thing is it it it this is and again I I'll eat my words if I'm wrong. This is just a bad Arkansas team. This this is not a good football team. There is not a lot of talent on that roster. again, I I'm with you a road a road noon kickoff in the SEC. I'm definitely not laying three and a half touchdowns. but if I had to play it, I'd be on the dogs to cover. David: Gonna be a doozy. I'm I just wanna see some second half action by our starters. That's what I really care to see. Cause Greg: Hello. David: I mean a lot of the names I'm like, I don't I don't know who the I don't follow it enough to know who this is, but we got a was it Oklahoma the week following week? So I was hoping that'd be a good game. Greg: Mm-hmm. That's that's again that's that's why I think if Kirby gets up comfortably, I I think he is just gonna try to get to the finish line and get back home. David: Yeah, I think you're right about that. All right. The next one. We started last one with the Georgia Bulldog. This week. This time we're gonna start with the Seminole. The Florida State Seminoles are going into Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I don't give a piss about nothing but the tide, baby. Number ten Alabama, Crimson Tide is playing Florida State Saturday at three thirty. Right now it's got I'll get into my take, but Alabama giving up nineteen and a half to twenty and a half, so let's just say twenty. Total around forty nine and a half. Last time we started with the duck with Brian because it was the D Georgia. This time we're gonna start with Greg. Greg, what say you? Greg: Another one of those games and I and I tried to find a way to get there. I'd love to have some action on this, but I I can't I can't get there officially. At at twenty, I lean, and Brian, I hate it for you, I lean towards Alabama. I I just think Florida State's gonna have Ashton Daniels doesn't impress me. I think Florida State's gonna have a hard time putting up enough points on the board to keep up with Alabama. the only thing that keeps me from being eager to lay the twenty is just the whole freshman quarterback thing. And that's just that's a roller coaster. He looked like trash against Kentucky in the first half. You got turnover possibility. He gave Kentucky some points. and that's that's that's why it's hard to lay a big number with a freshman quarterback. But again, I Brian knows this. Florida State is is in a rebuilding cycle. They they are not on the par on the par level with Alabama. I think Alabama covers a lean towards the under as well. again, I I I would be if Florida State gets more than thirteen points, I think they've done well. I I think that Bama defense is legit and unless You know, unless Ashton Daniels or Cromire or Singleton, somebody just breaks a long play, I just don't think they're gonna be able to march down the field on Alabama, keep drives together and put points on the board. I think there's gonna be a lot of clock movement. I think Alabama's gonna control the clock and run the ball. So I think it stays under I again, not an official play, but leans to the tide and under. David: Mm. Now you did say Stoops was you you told him he'd have him ready for Alabama last weekend, right? And that was said in Kentucky but was gonna be ready. Greg: think I was on Alabama. I know I was on the team total. I don't know if I was on here, maybe not by by the time we recorded this. David: No, but you I b basically just picking Brian: Mm-hmm. David: out the fact that you said that Stoops was still there. But I like Kentucky. Greg: He might should be. David: There's something about Kentucky that first half, they played tough. It got a little f feisty there at the end, but what happened? This can go to both of you before we go to the Brian on the official take. What am I missing? What what happened to all world Mr. Everything dominate single handedly win the game against the Bulldogs? Ryan Williams. Where where where'd he go? Greg: He got married. David: I'm like w how w I he was the guy. He was Jeremiah Smith before Jeremiah Smith came around. Now he's about a hundred a buck twenty. That don't help. But he couldn't miss. Greg: He if if you watch if you watch an entire Alabama game, he is one of those unique players that has the special kind of ability to do things that a lot of the greatest athletes on the planet can't do. But then he will flat out drop a ball when he's got nobody within five yards of him and he's wide open. It's it's the most baffling thing to watch. But I can tell you this if we we've had a couple of chances or thoughts of him entering the portal and we've done everything we could to try to get him over to Athens. Kid's got all world talent. He just has a weird case of sometimes I think he loses focus on the easy plays. But that's overdone can make some of the most ridiculous plays look easy. David: He only had like four completes, four receptions last week. That game against us when he came back that second half game, we had to come back. Boy, he looked like he was gonna be the next guy. Next Julio, he was not. Brian, I hate to put you on the spot with your Florida State Seminoles with your new A D and or not even A D. You don't even know who you got down there. Brian: Nobody yet. David: I personally, I personally think this is one of those where they're gonna show up play. They're like, you know what? Everybody's betting against us. I think something's gonna happen. I think we might have a little upset brewing in Tuscaloosa. Dreamland barbecue ribs are gonna be flowing, my friend, out the door because some seminose gonna be taken home. What say you, Brian? Brian: I hope you are right, but before I get into this, let me have a little drink. David: No, you're gonna need it. You're gonna need I'll take one with I'll take one. Brian: All right. Greg: I don't wanna get left out. Me and my water. David: Cover it up. Those top Brian: This is a David: cups are nice. I like those. Brian: This is a revenge game from last year for Alabama after they went down to Tallahassee and got beat. FSU's secondary so far this year has been a disaster. They gave up two hundred and seventy two yards to New Mexico State through the air, four hundred and thirty to SMU. Ashton Daniels has not looked good on offense. Looks like he has no rhythm with wide receivers. We got good ride receivers, but they're not doing anything. FSU third down defense has been an absolute horror show. I mean, they are Given up eighteen out of thirty one at fifty eight percent, which is good for to be ranked a hundred and thirty second in the country. Greg: How many teams are there? Brian: I don't remember if there's a hundred and thirty David: Jeez. Brian: two or a hundred and thirty-eight, but it's down there. Greg: Yeah. David: It was downer Geez. Brian: forty percent forty percent of the total yardage they've given up this year has come on third down. So that's not a recipe to to beat Alabama. Contrast, Alabama ranks number one in the country on third down defense, given one out of twenty-three. That's not good for FSU David: day. Brian: offense, who went two for fifteen on third down last week against SMU. So and Alabama's defense is a lot better than SMU's defense. I expect Keelan Russell to have a big day. I don't expect us to get a whole lot of pressure. I think this game's gonna get ugly. I think that this could be Mike Norvell's last game. If it does get ugly, if not, it'll go after the Miami game. I'm laying it. Bama minus nineteen and a half. Official play. David: Man, I think this is the week roll tie Willie starts back drinking. I think the seminose gonna give him a scare. I I just feel something in my bones, something saying. I think we got shades of Charlie Ward coming up, shades of Peter Ward coming back. Bobby Bowden from the grave is coming back. It ain't far from Tusc it ain't too far to Tuscaloosa from Tallahassee. I think I don't know. I feel it I don't They may not win, but I think they're gonna definitely cover. I think it's gonna be a close one. I've not been as as much as I like him as a as a man, I've not really cared for old the coach at Alabama. It's just how do he's in an inwin unwinnable situation. How do you how do you go come after Nick Saban? It's not gonna happen. I I wouldn't have taken that job. You'd have to pay me, which I guess they did. I don't know. So I can't believe you're gonna hate on your boys like that. You're just gonna let it happen? I mean that's that is when you know that's when you Brian: I'm trying to I'm trying to give it g give it ri giving real content to our to our listeners. Greg: It's it's a business. David: know he's dedicated to the game and by game I mean the game of of of betting because it'd be hard for me to do it. Be hard for me to do it. You mentioned a lot of SMU in there. You talked a lot of SMU, baby, and ponies over there. in Southern Methodist University and they are taking on the number sixteen SMU's taking on number twenty three Louisville Saturday at three thirty. This one, I mean, you basically taking winner losses at this point. Point and a half, two and a half. I mean that that's doesn't seem like a lot, but wow. No faith in defense in this one because we're looking at fifty nine and a half over and under. That is a big scoring game for two high ranked teams. Greg, what say you? Greg: I I I got two plays on this and I'm I'm going at both sides. I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the Louisville Cardinals at home, lay the one and a half. I look I think Papa John Stadium, if it's still Papa John Stadium, it's gonna be rocking. Louisville's got some energy to it. and and I'm on the over as well. I I look Kevin Jennings is Brian: Mm. Greg: gonna score points for one team or the other. He is he's gonna put points on the board. You can count on that. I saw Louisville and Ole Miss run up and down the field together. I expect this to be much like that game was. Give me Louisville at home minus the one and a half and give me fireworks all dad gum Saturday afternoon in Louisville over fifty nine and a half for another official play. David: Louisville, Kentucky, I like it. What say you, my man? Brian: This is gonna be a crucial ACC game for that number two spot to to play the Miami Hurricanes in the ACC championship game. So this is a big game for both of them. You got two high powered offenses, so I like Greg's overplay. FSU was able to force three four turnovers last week against SMU, so I see Louisville's defense being able to cause some problems for Jennings. I love going to Louisville and hanging out on Whiskey Row. And that's why I'm drinking the old Forester for the show tonight. It's a great place to David: Ha ha ha. Brian: be. Dodd, I mean it's so the the line's so low that I don't I'm not gonna give the points. I'll pay the little bit of extra juice. So my official play, give me Louisville on the money line. They'll win the game at home. David: I like it. You know, this is beside what all we talked about, but you brought up Kentucky and whiskey and all that and you know, Kentucky it's bourbon if it's only a Kentucky. We watched this whole documentary one time about bourbon and I was I kept thinking like when they gonna start showing Jack Daniels? 'Cause we're it's Kentucky like what what's the deal here? Greg: It's in Tennessee. David: Why well that would be the reason, Greg. It's not called whiskey, it was called bourbon. Which ironically with whiskey and winters and we're drinking a bunch of bourbon. But st I was like sitting there the whole show, I like 'cause I'd went to we had went previously to Jack Daniels for the barbecue championship and did the tour and all that and I was like, I'd like to see it, you know, see what they say about it. And it wasn't until like thirty minutes after it was over and I was sitting there pondering, I was like, wait a minute. That makes sense why they didn't show it 'cause hell is in Tennessee. Damn it, dry county, by the way. Shocking. If you haven't taken the Jack Daniels tour, I recommend it. It was pretty damn good. But SMU bo SMU going into Louisville. SMU, didn't they their quarterback is like super athletic, right? What he like Greg: Yes, sir. David: he's running up and down the field against You gotta have it. I think I don't know. SMU. Greg: He he does have a propensity of throwing it to the wrong colored jersey pretty Brian: Yeah. Greg: regularly though. David: Well, don't run don't throw it. Just run it. 'Cause he was fast. Little Duke and Motor. So I'm gonna go with SMU, I guess. I mean I just like what I saw. And I'm thinking I'm thinking we're downplaying Florida State. I think something's gonna happen. Like I said, I feel it in Tuscaloosa, Brian. I feel it. Greg: Can I make it a point, Brian? Can we let's let's have a separate column I want to track for the entirety of this season when you and I agree on a play and he goes the other way, let's see what the record of those turns out to be. I watch this. He will end up beating us. There will there will be somehow or another, David: It's gonna be a weird stat. There is no rhyme Greg: he will end up getting more right than us on the ones where the two of us agree and he doesn't. Brian: Yeah. David: All because I was upset about a documentary that didn't show Tennessee Greg: Yeah. David: whiskey. That's why I go that way. I you talk about all these models you have, it's literally just whatever the hell comes to my mind. I was no model makeup, I don't have none of that. But we'll see I'd I'd be interested in that too, Greg, not you say it. Speaking of interesting, Hell State, baby. The Mississippi State Boo dogs rolling into them game cocks. Darius Rucker's excited. Brian: Mm-hmm. David: Darius Rucker is pumped, my friend. If this was a baseball game, that would have been a hell of a baseball game because those two are hell of a good college baseball team. But it's a football game, and right now we have South Carolina giving up three and a half at home against Mississippi State. Is that a typo, Greg? Says some of are four and a half. Is South Carolina that bad? Greg: I think either of these teams is particularly good. David: No, but you would think at home, I mean Greg: I will I I think I pick up what you're putting down. When I when I was looking through this, this was one of those where my first lean was take Mississippi State and the points 'cause it just being over a field goal and I again I I Williams Bryce in Columbia is not an easy place to go on the road and play, but I don't think David: Brute Stadium. Greg: I don't think this is a great South Carolina team. I I love Mississippi State's quarterback. Give me Kamario Taylor and the and the fake Bulldogs to to cover the three the three and a half or four. Give me the plus the points. not an official play, but that's that's certainly a lean towards the state. and then I lean towards the under. I again I I like Tomario Taylor, but he's he's a young kid. He's gonna still make some mistakes. I I think this stays under the fifty-eight and a half as well. Neither are official, but as far as liens on this one, Miss TV State plus the points and under the fifty-eight and a half. David: I would be shocked if they score over fifty eight and a half. William Bryce Stadium. I've actually been by it. It's a pretty stadium. It's a cool little town. That little Columbia's pretty nice. Greg: An absolute nightmare to get in and out of on a Saturday. David: I bet. It gets crazy. A lot of flags. They will they will flow s they will f fly some damn South Carolina tags, flags. They're all about it. Greg: I I will say now I w I was impressed with Mississippi State going on the road and getting the W last week at Minnesota. So when I when I saw them getting more than a field goal, to me and again, it may be dangerous, but this is one of those where just I didn't have to do a lot of analytics. As soon as I saw the number, my initial gut lean was giving Mississippi State and the points, ran it through the model. The models got South Carolina winning by three, but it's just not enough advantage for me to make a play on it officially. but yeah, I th I think Mississippi State's the right side. David: Rock me right, baby like a wagon wheel. Dear Brian: Mm-hmm. David: Shrucker's excited, Brian. Are you excited for them game cocks? Brian: I think it I think this is gonna be a good game. Like he said, Camario Taylor. You got Lenore Sellers on the other side. South Carolina's got number one scoring defense right now, but they played Kent State and Towson. South Carolina's won eight of last nine games. Camario Taylor, this will be his first SC road start. Like like Greg said, he played good last week in Minnesota, but Williams Price is a different animal. I also like Kendall Bryles at o as the South Carolina offensive coordinator, I think he fits with Lenore Sellers. I'm gonna trust my model in this one. My model shows South Carolina winning this game sixty-three percent of the time. It shows the under hitting it fifty-nine percent of the time. And it shot me a score out of South Carolina thirty-five to twenty-two. So I'm gonna make official play of South Carolina minus three and a half. David: Mm. Nice. So I I don't know what I would go here. I was basically going, I'm trying to think where I would I'm gonna lean, Greg, and I'm gonna use the model. The model showing me that as much as I like Darius Shrucker, he did get pulled over with that remember he had a D U A? He had like crack on him, yeah, like cocaine or something. Like Daris got down, son. My man was rolling. Have you ever heard him sing Let It Cry? Let it when he does it live on the I think Nashville session. man. Let her cry. My gosh. So good. So based on that, I'm picking the Bulldogs out of Hale State, baby. Mississippi State. Will Clark somewhere is gonna be happy. Will Clark phenomenal player when he was in college. Boy was a good player. I think he went at Mississippi State, but I'm gonna go with Mississippi State. Palmero Greg: He did. At at one point they had Will Clark, Raphael Palmero, and Bobby Figfin on the same roster. David: Come on, son. You got two that are slamming home runs left and right, and then thick pins shutting you down on the mound. Hard to beat, but that's a squad. I miss when you used to have not everybody just went straight to the pros, it seems. You had college. Maybe with the NIL now, they'll actually bring back some kids going to college that are highly raked, highly touted. Greg: You have you have thrown us off the rail so many times that I feel like I have to throw out this story. I I don't know if any of y'all have ever, like, actually heard Will Clark speak, but that man's voice does not sound in any way like what you would expect to be coming out of that dude's mouth. But I will tell you, and he doesn't get mentioned a David: Hey you Greg: lot, but that dude had an absolutely gorgeous swing. Will Clark from the left side was smooth as silk, dude. He was good. David: Shout out to my Wesley McCart. I think you remember you met Wesley before. Greg: Mm-hmm. David: That was his favorite player of all time. Him and Kevin Mitchell. But Will Clark, Greg: Yep, we'll the thrill. David: Will the Thrill, because Wesley was a big lefty. He had a sweet swing, my friend. Very David Justice before David Justice. Greg: Uh-huh. David: Had that kind of type smooth swing. Yeah, he did have a good one. Greg: No bat and gloves, just pure. David: Just as pure as his as the snow. Big old chew in his mouth at all times. I feel like I was about to say something else that made Absolutely no sense of what we was talking about. What was we talking about before this? Greg: We were we were about to start talking about the Florida Auburn game. David: Greg always ruins the fun. You see that, Brian? We try to have a little fun Brian: Yeah. David: here, and he wants to ruin it. I will I will bring it up later when it pops in my head out of nowhere. The Florida Gators are going against the Auburn Tigers out in beautiful Auburn, Alabama. Saturday at seven o'clock. Big game that nobody's gonna watch that isn't a Florida fan or an Auburn fan, because there's another game that's gonna be taking place. I'm gonna watch a little bit of it because I don't know if you heard, but the coaches I like what the coach at Auburn is standing for. I think he's like a Russian dude or something. Alex Golish. My man came out and said, Hey, I heard y'all were like, you know, you and old John Summer all y'all met each other friendly. He was like, No, we're not. Not this week, we not. My man said, I don't wanna know ya. He said, We we not this week. He came out strong. I like that kind of attitude with my coach. And on the flip side, I will not give Florida Gators any credit. But the coach, John Summerall, his wife went to Auburn and they asked him and said, Hey, is I know you got some little mixed reviews, whatever, but is are you how you how you feeling about this weekend? Is you you have some people cheering for the other side? He's like, they're not my family if they are. He said, you are not my family. If you're gonna go voting I don't give a damn if you did go to Auburn. Florida's paying my paychecks, baby. Paying my mortgage. So we're going to be Florida Gators this weekend. So I like that kind of speak from a coach. It's got me a little excited. Greg, what say you? They got Florida giving up two and a half in Auburn. Over under 52 and a half. I'm digging these coaches. I'm digging these coaches. Greg: Yeah, I I I think this will be I think this will be a very competitive game. I I'm a fan of both of these young coaches, although I hope and pray that neither of them turns their particular programs around. I can't stand either one of these programs. This is two schools wearing orange and blue. Look, can we just pray for an earthquake and let the field open up and swallow both teams whole? Florida laying two and a half on the road makes absolutely no sense to me. They might be a slightly better team. I've been to Jordan Hare at night. That is not a fun place to go try to get a W. I don't have an official play, but I damn sure wouldn't be laying points on with Florida on the road in Auburn. I would lean towards Auburn plus the two and a half. I would lean towards the under. I think this will be a rock fight. I think this finishes probably around 47, 48, 49 points at 52 and a half. I don't think we get there. I think it comes under. So again, on a on a bigger matchup, no official play, but lean Auburn plus the two and a half and under 52 and a half. David: Little defensive battle. I think it's gonna be some grit. I think we're gonna have some some heads popping. I think these coaches, like I said, I like I like to speak. I like the heart of aggressiveness. Brian, what say you, my friend? Brian: In this game, I mean, some are all he's had Golish's number in the past when they coached against each other. Last time they coached against each other, he two lane blew out South Florida forty five to ten. I mean, he's he understands how to stop that offense. Byron Brown is gonna be the key to this game. If Florida's able to keep him in the pocket, Auburn's gonna struggle. If he can get out of the pocket and run, use his legs, it'll be a better game. My model showing Florida should be favored in this game by four and a half. this this sucks. I'm just trusting my model 'cause as a Florida State fan it just had to pick them to get blown out. Now I'm picking Florida to beat Auburn on the road at minus two and a half. David: that's that's gotta hurt. That's gotta sting. See all them bottles right behind right there? One of those Brian: I'm about to get in. David: are gonna be one of those is gonna be empty this weekend, I feel it. 'Cause if he hits he's excited, but he also's pissed off because that means he's Florida lost and damn I mean at Florida State lost and Florida won. That's gonna be a rough weekend, but I think you might be not far off. But I'm telling you something about that game in Tuscaloosa that I'm feeling. Like I said, this is a hell of a game. Auburn and Florida. Normally I would that'd be a damn good game to watch. Nobody's watching that game. They might watch 30 minutes of it. Nobody's watching that game because 30 minutes later, in beautiful Old Miss in Oxford, they're gonna be watching the LSU Tigers Go Tigers. And Lane Kiffin take on his former team, the Ole Miss. I still say running rebels, baby. The old Miss Runner Rebels. Is there a game more exciting than this weekend? There's not. I'm pumped. Can't wait. Must see TV. Lane Kiffen returns to his old stomping grounds. He should have never left, but I get it. I love the troll factor of Lane Kiffin. I gotta love it. I cannot wait to see what he says this weekend. LSU has given up three, three and a half. Number seven LSU versus number eight old miss over under fifty eight and a half. Brian we'll start with you. You think Lane's gonna come in there, crap the bed or gonna sh put on a show? Brian: I think this is gonna be a wild, high-energy masterpiece game with made David: Woo I can't wait. Brian: major playoff implications. You got the you got Pete Golden telling his fans they need to behave, you're getting extra security in. I mean, that this is gonna be wild. The tickets are going, the lowest ticket you can find is 580 bucks just to get in the stadium. Greg: I mean David: Some college Brian: I mean, both of these. David: kid's about to make his tuition with that he's selling his stuff. Brian: Yeah. yeah. Both of these guys went against each other in practice, you know, on offense defense when they were at Ole Miss. my model was showing that this was a fourteen thirteen halftime score. So I was leaning towards taking the under, but then I started thinking you got Elaine Kiffin coach team and you got Trinidad Chambliss on the other side. There's no way I'm touching that. So I'm not gonna make an official play. I'm just gonna Pour me something good and sit back and enjoy this one. David: It's gonna be a doozy. I cannot wait. I look Kiran Lacey, that first couple games has been looks like he's been babying a little hamstring or something. Something's just a little bit off. I don't know. Is that gonna come into play, Greg? Greg: Kewan Lacey, if he's not healthy, will absolutely come into play. look, this game has so much going on around it. There is so much hype, so much intrigue. Man, look, Lane Kiffen has made a career out of being a villain, and he is as good at it as anybody. Look, David: Yep. Greg: when he when he left Tennessee, when he left USC, though, there was some smell to that. It stunk. He was young back then. This is a new Lane Kiffin. David: That UFC one was bad. Greg: I'm I'm telling you, I think Lane Kiffin is eating this up. I think Lane Kiffin is ready for this road trip. I think LSU's the right side. I don't have an official play on him, though, just because again, I don't want to go against Trinidad Chambless at night in Oxford, because I've seen that son of a gun turn into Superman twice against us. And I don't want him with the ball in his hands trying to win the game at the last minute. here's here's my take, and Brian, you may disagree, but I'm gonna throw it out there anyway. When I first thought of this game, my immediate thought is Both of these teams are getting in the 30s. And then they hang a 58 and a half, which to me seems like a low number for what I would have expected the perception of this game to be, which tells me it's going under the total. But having said that, I think the total game goes under the total. But I got an official play out, and Brian will have to remind me what the number is. Give me LSU team total. I have seen enough of that old miss defense to know that they ain't stopping nobody. I think it I I think they will have to try to keep up. But I think the safest play on this one, just because you gotta have action on this game late at night. Give me the LSU team total. What do what I get? Thirty and a half? Twenty twenty thirty and a half? Give Brian: Thirty and a half. Yeah. Greg: give me LSU to get to at least thirty one points for the game. That's an official play. Brian: W one one interesting thing I put out there that I did look at but I didn't like I said I didn't make it official was I looked at taking the first half under and then the second half over. Greg: I could see that. I could I could see it getting to a shootout where, you know, there's three touchdowns scored the last five minutes just going back and forth. That's David: Yeah. Greg: why I'd hate I hate to play make a play on the total. I think it will be a more of a grinded out game than expected. but I think the safest play is I don't want any part of laying three or three and a half in Oxford at night. give me the LSU team total over thirty and a half for an official play. David: Talking about Lane and his different coaching jobs. Was it USC the one where hit my man got fired on the tarmac? Like that's Greg: I believe. David: you get you Brian: Yeah, I you David: get let go on the tarmac. Like, bro, can I just get to the house first or something? Can we get back to the school? You gotta let Brian: Ye that y David: me go here. Brian: you keep talking about Tuscaloosa, there's a chance that might happen in Tuscaloosa this weekend. David: It could. You're right. Norville might be head. Just just take your personal car just in case, bro. Just like I said, it ain't that far of drive, he's about Greg: Book your own flight. Brian: Mm-hmm. David: to find out. It's not that bad. It could possibly happen. Brian: Ha ha. Greg: If if if af if after the game during the interview, if you notice the the interim A D come put his arm around Norbell's shoulder and go, You do have the Delta app, right? Book of flight. David: That could be a little early. They may not even get to Miami. I love the more people hate on Lane Kiffin, the more I love it. And I don't necessarily love him, just the fact that they hating on him. I just it adds something to it. The drama, the Greg: David, I'm gonna I'm gonna add a sidebar because I absolutely agree with you. I I have I I have grown to become a Lean Kiffin fan. I respect the heck out of that man's troll game. It is strong. But let me say this, even though I still deep down, I just I respect the guy. I I think he is is grossly misunderstood, and I can kind of resonate with that sometimes. I try hard to be nice and please people, but I can be a little off putting, so I get it. but I'm gonna tell you, I I I really, really think he missed a huge opportunity because with and again, I I hate to make this show about bigger stuff, but with everything going on, I think he had a chance to make a statement. If he'd have stayed at Ole Miss, kept building that program, they they would have built statues to that guy. He could have had anything he wanted, but it it just felt like one of those moments where everything in the world tells you go chase the bigger job and the bigger check and go do all that. But with his story and everything he's been through. I really had hoped that maybe he would be one of those guys to come out and go, you know what? Oxford's been good to me. I've had a good time in Oxford. My family's here. Everything. This matters more than going to a bigger school, better school, or getting a better paycheck. I think he had the opportunity to make a good statement and just do the right thing. But again, I 90% of the people would have done exactly what he did. David: If if he was in the hunt almost every year at in Oxford at Ole Miss, he could stay there probably ten or fifteen years or whatever if he wanted to. If you're in the hunt LSU but you ain't bringing nothing to you not bringing any championships, your ass is gone. You could win a championship three years later if you struggling. Coach O, yo you out the door, bro. So I think he l left a little bit of s job security, but maybe he was trying to appease his daughter. Didn't it didn't his daughter date the linebacker and She was going to school there or something. I feel like it was something with that story. Brian: She's the Greg: that sounds like a front porch with David type story. David: That's it was true. I believe she was da his daughter was either going to LSU, but she was dating the linebacker for LSU. So maybe that had something to do with it. You want to please your daughter. So I can't hit on that. Let's not Brian: Yeah. Wit wit weeks. David: forget Yeah, Weeks. Yeah, that kid. Let's not forget the fact we we talk about his troll game and all this, and he's an offensive wizard. His dad was a hell of a coach. Monty Kiffin, I believe, was a defensive guy. his dad he comes from stock. It is inbred in him. So the man, like him or not, the man can flat out coach. He goes somewhere and makes things happen. Greg: He does, for sure. David: So but I'm pumped for this game. I'm excited. we should've ended with that one, but we didn't. We're gonna end same time another game that probably nobody's gonna watch outside of maybe Magic Johnson and Joe Montana. Brian: Mm. David: And that's because the Michigan State is taking on number three Notre Dame at seven thirty. The Megaphone Trophy. I didn't even know that's what they called it. The old megaphone trophy. Who knew? What the hell is who was why's Michigan State and Notre Dame got a trophy that they go on? I don't know. But that is the case. Notre Dame giving up twenty nine and a half. So that is it me that's a huge number, right? Like that's Greg: It it is, especially when you consider and and I'll admit, I used to I used to be somewhat of maybe you'd call it a closet Michigan State fan back in the Mike Dantoney days. I I liked the way they played. That was that was a team that wasn't flashy, but they they kept guys in a program forever. and we played them in a couple of bowl games. And I I just respected the heck out of that program. And and when Dan Tony was here, they were gonna win eight or nine games a year, and every every so often they were gonna sneak up there and be a really good football team. this is not that same kind of Michigan State team these days. This is a very bad football team. Again, nothing in my my nature when it comes to gambling is ever content or likes the idea of laying damn near 30 points. so I'm just going to call it a lean, but if I was playing it, I'd absolutely lay the points with Notre Dame. I think they win by 30 plus. and I'd I'd take the over because I think Notre Dame gets in the 40s. And at that point, you don't need but a couple of late Michigan State scores to get over. so I lean Notre Dame minus 29 and a half over the 52 and a half. But just a sad state of mission state of once was at least a program that used to have some pride. David: Well, they once had a coach by the name of Nicholas Sabin. Can I interest you in that guy? I mean he he kinda knew what was going on, but they don't have that now. So Brian, what say you? Twenty nine and a half is a big number. Notre Dame, you gotta give old coach credit. My man, he's putting something back in Notre Dame. Yeah, I don't know how they are getting folks these days because they must have dropped their academic eligibility because it used to be so hard to get in there unless you were that guy. But They seem to be getting some studs now. Brian: Yeah. This used to be a big rivalry game. That's why it came with the megaphone rivalry, but they hadn't played each other since twenty seventeen, so but David: No, so yeah I don't pay attention. Brian: anyhow, Greg: You you can learn a lot from the top of Brian's hat. David: I know. We're gonna change that camera lingo. Brian: Yeah. I'm having to r I I'm Greg: Ha ha ha. Brian: having to read. get don't look at this as a 30-point game with two big teams playing. Like we just said, Michigan State ain't the same Michigan State team. One stat I can give our listeners out there is Marcus Freeman is the number one head team in the country at covering the spread since he took over as the head coach. He covers the spread sixty-six point seven percent of the time. So Notre Dame's won twelve straight games, all by double digits. Michigan State has been horrific against five top five teams. They've lost twelve straight, nine of those by twenty-two or more. Michigan State's two and but they played two Mac teams. I expect CJ Carr to have a a Heisman like game in this one. He's gonna throw for a a ton of yards. I my model shows Nov Notre Dame covering this sixty percent of the time. So I'm gonna trust Marcus Freeman and I'm gonna trust the model and say Notre Dame covers this big number. Give me Notre Dame minus twenty nine and a half. David: You can't win twenty nine and a half. I'm trying to do a slur like a a lisp like Lou Holtz. R. I. P. big dog. R. I. P. It's been with the last year. I think they're playing for Holtz, okay? Notre Dame, that's a big number. I get it, it's at home and I g you go into Notre Dame, which is you get caught up in that. But I d I feel like it's another little trap game. I feel like twenty nine and a half. If it was a rivalry, I think that's gonna be a tough one. So I think Michigan State's not gonna win by no means, but I think they're gonna cover the twenty nine and half. Am I is that another one where I'm going against y'all completely? That's what I do, son. That's what I do. That's why you got a third man here. Okay? That's what we do. You also have a third man Greg: I would like to point out to all the listeners though, this is somebody who obviously supports the Falcons with that hat and that shirt. So his dad doesn't know a lot about winners. David: Woo Listen, I've been working on my kicking game. There's a good chance I might be pick kicking this weekend. I can literally throw a rock almost and hit the Falcons facility. I need to go over there and show them my kicking game because Lord knows they ain't they can't do Jack. How the Greg: How how how you go kick a football with one Achilles? David: I I can miss it as easy as that guy can. My God, we missed three field goals. We get defense played their ass off. Greg: I I think having two functioning Achilles is part of the contractual requirement for an NFL kicker. David: The one that's the one that's somewhat good is is the one that kicks, okay? The right one's fine. We won't get in the Falcons because I know y'all like to keep it college here, but my gosh. We the defense actually played pretty decent. Brian, can you play quarterback? All we need you do is breathe back there. That's all we need. Good Brian: Yeah. David: grief. Good gracious somebody. They even got Jamel Hill talking about wanting Colin Capanet to come play for the Falcons. I'm like, as ridiculous as that sounds, I'm like, well hell, why the hell not? Why not? What do we got to lose? Two ain't gonna be playing anytime soon, probably with oblique. Penix act like he's I don't know. I may come back, I may not. Just stay home. I'll ride with Cooper Rush. Give me somebody. Stetson Bennett, please. Dear NFL Falcon gods, make Stetson Bennett somehow come home. Come on home, buddy. Come on home. If you got a drinking problem, we'll keep you away from Brian. Okay, all that bourbon. Greg: That would that would prove to be quite a test 'cause I think I would have to become a Falcons fan if they brought Stetson home. David: See? That would make it happen. He's close to here. You know, Trayvon Walker, who's a guy from Thomaston, he's a free agent after next year. I would love to see him in a Falcons uniform. That'd be nice. Man, he was Greg: That is a monster of a human being. If y I have stood next to that dude, that is a monster of a human being. David: T Town's finally great. Raised up on Big Chick and Piggy Park, baby. I love Greg: super good dude too. I mean he he gives back to that community. He is a super good dude. David: He does. He's one of those you keep rooting for because you like, please nothing come out because he's charity work like crazy. And it was when we when Deshaun Watson was a chance to be a free agent, when he was a free agent, I was like, let's bring him because he was the ball boy for the Falcons. He lived in Gainesville. He was work done, bought him a house, a HUD home. Like the story was set up perfect, and I was so pissed when we get the didn't get Deshaun Watson. And then like three weeks later I'm like, thank God we didn't get to Sean Watson because he loved he loves a good massage. That's all I'm gonna say. He does love that. not the way he does, Greg. That's you know another story, another show. All right, Greg. You got money lines you told me you were gonna take over at this point. I don't know what the heck I'm talking about. Greg: Yeah, we'll we'll that's that's kind of the main slate. We'll we'll get into the the additional plays. I've got a few additional plays that weren't covered in that main slate. this will kind of serve as our recap as well. Brian and I'll both go over our official plays. I gave you the LSU team total over 30 and a half. I gave you Louisville minus one and a half at home against SMU. I gave you the Louisville Louisville SMU over 59 and a half, and then on top of those, I got a play on Toledo. Minus five and a half at home hosting Temple. I got a play on the Thursday night game. Syracuse in Pittsburgh under fifty-one and a half. Got a play that you're gonna love, David. This one is right up your alley. Coastal Carolina at Delaware. David: Yeah. Greg: Give me the Delaware Blue Hens minus four and a half at home. And then I'm taking David: You know, with we let me before you go, we got the team Florida the college teams in baseball this year and somebody actually picked Coastal Carolina. We got a coastal Carolina so you could have we got Old Miss versus Coastal Carolina coming up tomorrow night. That's just interesting. You don't see Greg: Awesome. David: Coastal Carolina thrown out much. Greg: Well, I hope they lose Saturday by five points or more. And then the I got give me the Arizona State Sun Devils getting five and a half at Kansas. I watched Kansas against Missouri. I just wasn't impressed. I like the way Arizona State hung with AM earlier. So give me ASU plus the five and a half points at Kansas. And then my final official play Georgia Southern at Jacksonville State. Give me the Jacksonville State Game Cox minus three and a half. Y'all can have the other game cocks. I want the J State Game Cox. David: Jack State, Alabama. Jackson is it Jacksonville, Alabama? Is that where it is? Or shout out Bill Burgess. That's I listen to a morning radio show called Brian: Mm-hmm. David: Rick and Bubba and his dad was a coach there for a long time. Jack State. That's what I'm talking about. What throw it out there randomly, Greg. you you doubt the degenerateness of this podcast and then you listen to somebody throw out Jack State putting money on it, that's when you know. We real deal around here. Greg: All right, B Nobles, give us give us your rundown David: Brian, what you got? Greg: and tell us where all you got money this weekend. Brian: All right, my recap, I got UGA minus thirteen and a half for the first half, Arkansas team total under seven and a half for the first half, Alabama minus nineteen and a half, Louisville on the money line, Florida minus two and a half, South Carolina minus three and a half, and Notre Dame minus twenty nine and a half. And then I have some extra plays. take me to Oklahoma versus New Mexico. Oklahoma's gonna be pissed off. New Mexico's playing with a backup quarterback. Give me the New Mexico team total under thirteen and a half. Then take me to Northern Illinois and Arizona. Northern Illinois is probably one of the first five or six teams in college football. Give me that's David: Salu Salukies? Or is that Southern Illinois? Greg: That's southern Illinois. Northern Illinois huskies. Brian: So give g give David: excuse. Brian: me the under fifty and a half in that game, I expect Arizona to jump out and then cruise. let's complete the trifecta. Give me Miami minus nineteen and a half Thursday night against Wake Forest. David: Boy's picking all the teams he hates. That's Brian: And David: har that's hard to do. Brian: and then David's gonna like this one. Take us to Evanston, Illinois, because I don't believe Northwestern minus three against Colorado. David: I was just looking literally looking up Colorado who they're playing because y'all knew y'all were gonna come to me and I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. But you know why I was taking Colorado because if Colorado's smart, whoever is running that damn bull that damn bison, they need to sign them up. Did you see that bison come out that gate and just fly down the damn field? That chick needs Put her out there wide out, okay? Them to be I was kept waiting. I was like, they're about to fall and they gon' drag that they gonna drag that that damn bison's gonna drag all across the field. But it didn't. They did not. But so it's it's Colorado Northwestern, right? Brian: Yep, I got Northwestern minus three. One the reason for that was that line started at minus five and a half. You've had seventy percent of the money and the tickets coming in on Colorado and the line dropped to three and a half. So you got reverse line movement. Usually it's good to go against that. the lat David: I'm a little torn 'cause the journalists those damn journalists at Northwest don't know what they're talking about. That's journalism school. Shout out Mike Wilbon. Mike Wilbon. PTI. Brian: Right. The the last thing I got, y'all know I love this team, Montana State. It's a FCS team, unfortunately, David: There he is. Brian: so the lines aren't gonna come out till Friday night or Saturday morning. So what I'll do, I'll tell our listeners if the lines come out and I can get Montana State at minus twenty-four and a half or less, that'll be official play. If it's over twenty-four or more, I will leave that alone. But David: Who are they playing again? Brian: Their play in central Connecticut State. Who just who just got beat David: Mm yes. G Greg: That sounds like a prison. David: Greg, do you know the mascot for Central Connecticut State? Let's put him to the test here. Mascot for Central Connecticut Brian: I do not I all all I Greg: The prisoners. The inmates. Brian: know is they just got beat sixty three to ten by Toledo and I think Montana State is better than Toledo. David: Good God. You get beat by the Mudhens. that's that's that's O that's minor league, but still. Central to Greg: All right, Brian, let's roll let's roll out our money line parlay for the folks. Who you w we're down to just two unless unless David wants to add one in there, but who you got for your money line parlay piece? Brian: Give me Virginia over West Virginia. Virginia's just gonna beat West Virginia up in the trenches. Greg: I like that. I like that. I'm a I'm I'm going to a game we already did talk about. I'm going to Lubbock on a Friday night and taking the Texas Tech Red Raiders just to get the W at home. I think I hadn't put it in the system, but I would think with Texas Tech and Virginia on the money line, that oughta gets you pretty close to about even, shouldn't it? Brian: I had I'd have to put it in. I Greg: What's what's Virginia favored by? Brian: think they were favored the last thing I looked at about around eight. Somewhere around eight. Greg: Yeah. They probably still get you about ba maybe minus one eighty. And then we've we're gonna give out a an underline money or underdog money line parlay. Who you you wanna go first on that bee? Who you got for your underline or your underdog money line? Brian: I got North Carolina State beating Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt's got true freshman Jared Curris making his first start. And I expect the three three five defense North Carolina State runs to confuse him, so give me the Wolfpack. Greg: As a Georgia fan, I hope like heck you win that one and I hope they beat the dog doo doo out of Jared Curtis all day long. I'm gonna give you the the moneyline underdog winner. I'm gonna go back to a play. I've got him plus the points. Give me Arizona State at Kansas. I am not a believer of this Kansas Jayhawk team and I don't like being on the road, but I think Arizona State might just be a better football team. And let's be real, Kansas is not exactly a home field phenomenon that we gotta be worried about. So I I like Arizona chan Arizona State's chances to go in there and get the Sun Devils to walk out with a W against the Jayhawks. David: Having just passed September eleventh, the twenty five year anniversary of September eleventh, you can't help but think of Pat Tillman who left the Arizona Cardinals, who's the Arizona State great. He went off to fight in the war because of that. And sadly love. Friendly fire, I think, took him out, which is sad. And don't go listen to the eulogy by his brother. It was quite odd. But I think that's why Greg is feeling Arizona State is tugging at his heart because of Pat Tillman, number forty, my favorite number. Is that what is that what did it? Greg: yeah, we'll go with that. I'm d I'm down for that. I like Pat Tilburn. David: Our bare bonds. Our bare bonds, one or the other. Greg: Alright, D, get us out of here. Take us home. David: Since Central Connecticut State Blue Devils, in case anybody's wondered. That's a big Greg: Inmates. David: one. Appreciate y'all listening. Appreciate you putting up with me for two weeks now, not knowing what the hell I'm talking about. Make sure you go listen to the recap that the boys will do on Sundays and let you know how they did. If Brian's not quite sober, that means he didn't do that well. Or it could mean he did well. I don't know. But Brian did a great job today of picking like with his wallet instead of his heart. I appreciate that 'cause it's hard to do. Greg, as always, a great job by you. Good insight. The fellas know what they're talking about. I may not. I'm just here to kind of lead this ship. I'm starting to learn a little bit more. But I appreciate you listening. And guys, it's midweek. If you got a drink, be sure to enjoy it. Have a little fun with this. Don't take it too serious. Like Greg said before, don't don't bet your mortgage. But It does it does feel it in the veins when you do, though. But that's it for another episode, guys. We appreciate it. Whiskeys and winners. Greg, anything you want to say before we leave? Greg: Nah, appreciate you hosting us again. Appreciate you coming and joining the team. It's it's been fun. I said we we put a lot of work into this. I promise you, Brian and I take the the work and the research very seriously about this. we're not putting out advice on stuff that we're not backing with our old money. But having said that, like I have said on here repeatedly, gambling is gambling. If you don't do it already, I wouldn't advise you starting. But if you are doing it, do it at a comfortable level. Do it, your do your own research, put your own work in, and then just use us as additional resources and nothing more. Be nobles what you got. David: Speaking of reason. B but first off, I'm gonna need to get that that link for that ceiling cam that you got that is Brian: Yeah. David: pointing down on you 'cause I'm gonna need that for the old bedroom to make a couple of videos for myself. We'll talk about that off air. But but go ahead. Brian: Yeah. I'm still playing with the camera and the light. I the light was blinding me, so I had to kind of adjust a little bit to get the light a little higher, but I will get it zoned in here soon. I appreciate David. It's fun and I enjoyed it. Everybody good luck this weekend. And go no's. David: Absolutely. Greg: Absolutely. David: All right, whiskeys and winners. Till next time, guys. Greg: God bless. David: Peace. Brian: Yeah.
