Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Everybody?
- 0:14Speaker 1: It's Jeff Mosher Adam Kaplan. We are knee deep in
- 0:18Speaker 1: NFL free agency preview. We have done the entire offensive
- 0:22Speaker 1: side of the football, so now we transition to NFL
- 0:26Speaker 1: free agency, Eagles free agency on the d defensive side.
- 0:30Speaker 1: And we've been Adam talking about NFL a lot, We've
- 0:33Speaker 1: been talking about Eagles at times, and here's where the
- 0:37Speaker 1: paths are going to cross, because we're gonna go through
- 0:40Speaker 1: the edge rushers. And obviously the Eagles have one who's
- 0:43Speaker 1: gonna be a very hot commodity on the free agent
- 0:46Speaker 1: market if he doesn't wind up resigning before, which the
- 0:49Speaker 1: Eagles can do. They can do that. But I and
- 0:52Speaker 1: if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen in the next
- 0:54Speaker 1: few days. But yeah, that this guy is one of
- 0:57Speaker 1: the cream of the crap guys. John Phillips on this
- 1:00Speaker 1: free agency market.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, well be Trey Henderson would be the number one guy,
- 1:05Speaker 2: right And it's just do you think so he would.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Get do you He wouldn't get a similar unless franchise length,
- 1:13Speaker 1: but right, like, he's not gonna get four or five
- 1:16Speaker 1: years of his age, right.
- 1:17Speaker 2: No, but the money, the average per the average per
- 1:20Speaker 2: years is the number right that he would that's where
- 1:22Speaker 2: he's gonna that's where he almost certainly would get more
- 1:24Speaker 2: than Jalen Phillips. You never say never with these things,
- 1:27Speaker 2: especially when we get to the open negotiating negotiating period
- 1:32Speaker 2: on Monday. That's why if you're saying that he goes
- 1:35Speaker 2: gonna want to get that done before twelve eastern on Monday,
- 1:39Speaker 2: this coming up Monday, because once you get there, it's
- 1:43Speaker 2: the wild, wild West. These deals are done within twenty
- 1:45Speaker 2: four hours. And Wednesday, the joke is like when the
- 1:49Speaker 2: doors open officially at four pm Eastern, whatever the hell
- 1:51Speaker 2: it is, twelve twelve or fours on Wednesday, the ninth
- 1:56Speaker 2: eleventh hell of day is it's it's it's the eleventh.
- 1:59Speaker 2: It's it's anti climactic. It's like, okay, who cares, there's
- 2:02Speaker 2: nobody left, you know. Yeah, although you can get some sleepers,
- 2:05Speaker 2: there's always sleepers. And boy, I'll tell you what. As
- 2:08Speaker 2: we set this up, we could people could say how
- 2:11Speaker 2: bad free agency is, but it's it's actually very deep
- 2:13Speaker 2: at edge. Now, quality is certainly a key with this,
- 2:18Speaker 2: but there's some there's depth to it. There are a
- 2:21Speaker 2: lot of there, like the mid level free agent, that's
- 2:24Speaker 2: what this group is. But there are a lot of.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Hey, you can win super Bowls with those kinds of signings.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Chris Long, Chris Long was a mid level free agent.
- 2:34Speaker 1: He's still had gas left in the tank. It was, yeah,
- 2:36Speaker 1: you're right if you hit the right guy who jibes
- 2:39Speaker 1: with what you do and is a even if he's
- 2:41Speaker 1: a situational pass rusher and he gives you twenty STAPs
- 2:44Speaker 1: per game. But they were they work, that's great.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they're guys who were gonna want to
- 2:51Speaker 2: get paid. Chasing the former first round pick of the
- 2:54Speaker 2: Jaguars who played for the Patriots. He signed a one
- 2:56Speaker 2: year deal, I think for four million. This season he's
- 2:59Speaker 2: been on wreck and saying, look, he wants to get paid.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I don't blame him. Guy's good football player. He's kind
- 3:06Speaker 2: of come on here, got his chance. They needed him
- 3:10Speaker 2: certainly help them get to the Super Bowl. So I
- 3:15Speaker 2: just look at this list. I mean, it's this is
- 3:17Speaker 2: this is really deep. There's some Arnold A. Biquetti's out there,
- 3:20Speaker 2: Mafe boy Mafe who see all consider trading at the
- 3:24Speaker 2: trade headline. They not doing that. They're guys who've as
- 3:28Speaker 2: we always say, there's a reason why guys get out
- 3:30Speaker 2: there quit he pay sort of a disappointing former first
- 3:33Speaker 2: round pick had some production, not clearly, clearly not what
- 3:38Speaker 2: Chris Ballard thought. He was specking more out of them.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Not a fowler's out there. Kyle van Ney, Joey Bosa,
- 3:44Speaker 2: Hassan Reddick. I mean, you look at this list, man,
- 3:47Speaker 2: if you need a third or fourth edge rusher, you've
- 3:50Speaker 2: got your pick of them. There's the good thing is
- 3:52Speaker 2: if you want depth, you have leverage. Like it's a
- 3:55Speaker 2: buyer's market. But if you're Hendrick Center, Jalen Phillips, it's
- 4:00Speaker 2: a seller's market. It's the players market like that's why
- 4:03Speaker 2: if again if Phillips is not, if they don't get
- 4:06Speaker 2: this done by buy money at once, the door's open
- 4:11Speaker 2: for the when you could start talking to other teams.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Not that these agents will wait, but you know how
- 4:15Speaker 2: it works, and the agent is going to know what
- 4:19Speaker 2: his market is. That that's what the combine is about.
- 4:21Speaker 2: They want to know who's interested. Clubs. Typically, I love
- 4:24Speaker 2: this conversation with general managers, guys who like to play
- 4:28Speaker 2: it by the book they'll go, hey, we'll be in
- 4:29Speaker 2: touch when they're allowed to. They let them know, wink wink,
- 4:33Speaker 2: no not hey, you know they will be in touch.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Then there's sometimes where the Byron Jones race for him
- 4:40Speaker 2: that when it was a twenty twenty maybe is that
- 4:42Speaker 2: sound right around the man?
- 4:43Speaker 1: What does?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah? It was. I mean they they let his representatives
- 4:49Speaker 2: know immediately, Hey we want in what do we gotta do?
- 4:51Speaker 2: Kind of thing? Right?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Do you think Hendrickson anything you've heard or just knowing?
- 4:58Speaker 1: I mean he's played for two teams and they both
- 5:00Speaker 1: I believe have run four threes? Is he is he
- 5:02Speaker 1: a scheme dependent and it can only be a four
- 5:05Speaker 1: to three?
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean he could. He could play standing up,
- 5:07Speaker 2: but he's.
- 5:09Speaker 1: He's handling the dirt.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a hand of the dirt player. And uh,
- 5:14Speaker 2: it's a situation where you you have to a guy
- 5:18Speaker 2: like this gets out there. If I if I'm a
- 5:21Speaker 2: team that's trying to win a Super Bowl, I'm all in.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I know he had I know he had some injuries
- 5:25Speaker 2: last season. He's been mostly healthy in his career, pretty durable.
- 5:28Speaker 2: He just and for anyone to say was that he
- 5:31Speaker 2: was just trying to milk injury. Total nonsense. He was not.
- 5:34Speaker 2: He had he wound up having procedures, so he had
- 5:37Speaker 2: the hip and the groin issue. So yeah, it's it's
- 5:40Speaker 2: unfortunate and for all what he's been through being severely underpaid,
- 5:46Speaker 2: this is his last bite at the apple. Yep. If
- 5:48Speaker 2: I believe he still has Harold Lewis as his agent,
- 5:51Speaker 2: I'd be going for a big time you know. Yeah.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I mean if you're if you're a team that's like
- 5:58Speaker 1: you just mentioned, if you're a playoff content and you're
- 6:00Speaker 1: fortunate enough to have like a quarterback on a rookie deal,
- 6:03Speaker 1: Like let's say you're the Bears and you need edge
- 6:06Speaker 1: help dat. You got to show that money out right now.
- 6:09Speaker 1: You gotta do it.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You just got to go for it. Yeah, this is
- 6:12Speaker 2: a guy could put it over the top. Yep. High
- 6:15Speaker 2: class guy. Been a great story development and I don't
- 6:18Speaker 2: know what else he's got to prove here.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I thirty five sacks in the two prior years,
- 6:23Speaker 1: seventeen and a half sacks two straight years. That is incredible,
- 6:27Speaker 1: incredible production. He also's got a fourteen sack year, a
- 6:30Speaker 1: thirteen and a half sacked year. He's a really good player.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Wow, I didn't have his numbers in front. That's insane.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean before last year, Like you said,
- 6:38Speaker 1: he was hurt last year, although he projected out to
- 6:40Speaker 1: have at least nine or ten, but you know, before
- 6:42Speaker 1: last year he was His lowest was eight in twenty
- 6:46Speaker 1: twenty two. But everything in the last five years thirteen
- 6:49Speaker 1: and a half, fourteen, seventeen and a half, seventeen and
- 6:51Speaker 1: a half. That's that's pretty damn good.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Right, that's your sacks. I don't know what the pressure
- 6:54Speaker 2: rate was, that's your sacks.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure that Yeah, And that's just you're right,
- 6:57Speaker 1: that's just sacks. I'm sure the pressure rate was even better. Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 1: So you got him and Phillips, would you say, are
- 7:04Speaker 1: and I mean I think Chase on will be sort
- 7:07Speaker 1: of a cup of tea type thing for certain teams
- 7:10Speaker 1: and certain schemes. But he certainly had a really good
- 7:12Speaker 1: reclamation time with the Patriots.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a guy that beauty's gonna be eye of
- 7:18Speaker 2: the beholder. He's more of a thirty four stand up
- 7:20Speaker 2: bed rusher m hm, odd man front kind of guy.
- 7:24Speaker 2: He'll he'll get some love. Son. Raddick was unfortunately hurt.
- 7:27Speaker 2: You know, he was so durable for the Panthers, the
- 7:31Speaker 2: Cardinals and the Eagles, and then just last season with
- 7:33Speaker 2: the Bucks and a little bit with the Jets. He
- 7:35Speaker 2: just has not been able to be healthy. Boy, Mafe
- 7:38Speaker 2: is that guy like he should do very well, very
- 7:41Speaker 2: well in free agency.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, he's a and he's a he can stand
- 7:45Speaker 1: he can't he does stand up. I mean, if you're
- 7:47Speaker 1: the Ravens, the Ravens have been looking for some edge rushers. Yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Steelers always like to get edge rushers. Yeah, there are
- 7:52Speaker 1: some good names here, man, I mean, even gosh, even
- 7:55Speaker 1: Kyle van neuy Adam has been amazing guy for a
- 7:59Speaker 1: long time.
- 8:00Speaker 2: He is such a good player. He's he's what I
- 8:04Speaker 2: call the almost Hall of Fame. He probably will not
- 8:06Speaker 2: be a Pro Football of Famer someday, but just a
- 8:09Speaker 2: really good player, like very productive no matter what system
- 8:12Speaker 2: he plays in. He's a stand up edge rusher. My
- 8:14Speaker 2: character guy uh Dante Fowler is out there, Arnold Abacketty,
- 8:20Speaker 2: Who's who's more of a third edge? Remember we were
- 8:24Speaker 2: saying earlier, this is this is what you're looking at.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Arden Keeg. He keeps moving on from team to team
- 8:28Speaker 2: to team.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Dj Wanham is a nice player. Played a lot for
- 8:33Speaker 2: the Panthers, had a couple of injuries early in his
- 8:35Speaker 2: career with them. He's with the Vikings before that. Malcolm
- 8:37Speaker 2: Koons two years ago, I believe didn't play because of
- 8:40Speaker 2: injury and he's a nice player, a good source of
- 8:43Speaker 2: development for them. Abukam, you might remember from the Rams
- 8:46Speaker 2: and the Colts, a j Apanessa is a power and
- 8:48Speaker 2: more of a edge rusher, I mean a power rusher
- 8:51Speaker 2: run stopper. Draymond Jones is a guy we've talked about
- 8:54Speaker 2: a lot on the show over the last three or
- 8:55Speaker 2: four years. You know what is he is? He as
- 8:58Speaker 2: stand up bad rushers. He a detack goal He's playing
- 9:02Speaker 2: a variety of schames. He's signed that big free agency
- 9:04Speaker 2: with Seattle and never they could not forget how to
- 9:06Speaker 2: use him. But he's out there. So yeah, it's mostly
- 9:09Speaker 2: a buyer's market. If you need a number two, three
- 9:11Speaker 2: or four edge rusher. Mike Dana who got cut by
- 9:14Speaker 2: the Chiefs, Leonard Floyd and Dafayolway, but the list goes
- 9:19Speaker 2: on and on. If you want to if you want
- 9:21Speaker 2: an edge rusher, you could find one. But the super
- 9:23Speaker 2: high end ones that's not in this free agency other
- 9:26Speaker 2: than Trey Hendrickson.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Really, Yeah, yeah, I agree because I think I feel
- 9:30Speaker 1: like Phillips his injury history and the fact that I
- 9:33Speaker 1: think he only had a few sacks. I mean, it's again,
- 9:35Speaker 1: it's not all about sacks. He was a certainly his
- 9:38Speaker 1: pressure rate with the Eagles is very good. But at
- 9:41Speaker 1: the end of the day, if a guy has sixteen sacks,
- 9:43Speaker 1: you love that guy. So, I mean, the point is,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I think Hendrickson is the only one who's been an
- 9:48Speaker 1: All Pro out of this and Phillips would probably fall
- 9:51Speaker 1: right underneath. He's another little Nutch below.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Yeah, honestly, with Phillips, it's okay having him for a
- 10:00Speaker 2: full season with Vic fangerw who he played for in Miami,
- 10:03Speaker 2: he knows the system. That's the key about free agency
- 10:07Speaker 2: is if you're going to bring somebody in, you'd like
- 10:10Speaker 2: them to be a fit for the system. Well, he's
- 10:11Speaker 2: a perfect fit because he's not played it for two
- 10:13Speaker 2: different teams at the same coach. But yeah, he's probably
- 10:18Speaker 2: anywhere from an eight to twelve SAC guy if he
- 10:23Speaker 2: plays a full season, and he, by the way, he
- 10:25Speaker 2: was very healthy last season. This is what you love
- 10:29Speaker 2: is he's got the NFL body, He's got everything that
- 10:35Speaker 2: you want. Hot, super high character, guy, wants to be
- 10:37Speaker 2: an Eagle. Eagles love having him. Eagles have made it
- 10:40Speaker 2: an absolute priorities coming out of the combine. That was
- 10:43Speaker 2: one of the things. Not that how he hit it.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You know when he was talking to the media that
- 10:49Speaker 2: they have interested in bringing him back. But from what
- 10:50Speaker 2: we've heard, absolutely is. And again he didn't miss any games.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I don't think I know he played seventeen. I don't
- 10:56Speaker 2: know if it was. You might have pointed this out.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Was it eighteen games he was available for yes or something?
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, playing in the resting Starters game.
- 11:04Speaker 2: That's it, right, right, right, right? So I think he
- 11:07Speaker 2: played right, So he was healthy. Good for him. Yep.
- 11:10Speaker 2: So he's young enough, he's got he's got the body,
- 11:15Speaker 2: like you go, this is what aner should look like.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 11:18Speaker 2: But again, is he he's He's not in the Hendrickson
- 11:22Speaker 2: He's not even close to Trey Hendrickson. He's just not.
- 11:24Speaker 2: No one is really no, that's true. But he he
- 11:27Speaker 2: the second rung guys, real quick, here the second rung
- 11:30Speaker 2: and Cam Jordan, by the way, who's knew the end
- 11:32Speaker 2: of his great career. For those of you who old
- 11:34Speaker 2: enough you remember, might remember his dad, Steve Jordan, the
- 11:37Speaker 2: tight end for the Vikings in the eighties, in the seventies,
- 11:40Speaker 2: but the and Clion Max out there. But the second
- 11:44Speaker 2: tier guys led by Phillips clil Mack could still do it,
- 11:48Speaker 2: could still play. Mafe would be a second tier guy.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yep.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And then it's kind of like what system that they're
- 11:57Speaker 2: they're they're they're like twenty five guys after this, they're
- 12:01Speaker 2: just they're all sort of Leonard Floyd's out there. Another
- 12:05Speaker 2: guy keeps getting deals, productive player, the guy we've talked about,
- 12:10Speaker 2: Greg Cochlas. Remember al Kadin Mohammad. Why does he keep
- 12:13Speaker 2: moving on? You know, one of those guys Like so,
- 12:16Speaker 2: these are the what we call the second tier free
- 12:19Speaker 2: agents who probably won't sign week one. In weeks two
- 12:22Speaker 2: and three, you can get a bargain now getting back
- 12:24Speaker 2: to the Eagles, even if they get Phillips back. Okay,
- 12:27Speaker 2: so they'll have Nolan Smith. They need another guy, but
- 12:30Speaker 2: that guy could come in free agency or the draft.
- 12:32Speaker 2: You could wait a while. You don't need and and honestly,
- 12:36Speaker 2: Victa only likes to play three guys.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I was gonna say, Swarts, I would
- 12:40Speaker 1: be looking at some of these guys. But it's Vic.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's that. You know, it's good that. I mean,
- 12:46Speaker 2: how he knows this because he works with him. You know,
- 12:49Speaker 2: it's like you got to have a fourth, but the
- 12:50Speaker 2: fourth guy probably won't play very much, which is honestly,
- 12:53Speaker 2: if BG wants to play, just wait till August and
- 12:56Speaker 2: sign him.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's a good point, by the way, Great
- 13:00Speaker 1: van Neustat, you ready for this. The first five years
- 13:03Speaker 1: he's played in the league twelve years now, first five
- 13:05Speaker 1: years he spent the first three with Detroit, then two
- 13:08Speaker 1: in New England. Right, he spent more than that New England.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But I'm saying first five years from twenty fourteen twenty eighteen,
- 13:14Speaker 1: he had twelve sacks total. In twenty twenty four at
- 13:17Speaker 1: age thirty three with the Ravens, he had twelve and
- 13:20Speaker 1: a half sacks.
- 13:21Speaker 2: That Year's how does that happen? That that like doesn't
- 13:25Speaker 2: happen because he's been he's a kind of an a
- 13:28Speaker 2: TANTR guy. Good leadership, yep, very disciplined, fairly durable. It's
- 13:34Speaker 2: just you don't expect that. And again, he's not a
- 13:37Speaker 2: Hall of Famer, but he's in. That's he's just a
- 13:40Speaker 2: quality player. He's compiled vity.
- 13:43Speaker 1: What's that If you were a baseball player, we would
- 13:45Speaker 1: call him a compiler where you just you never have
- 13:47Speaker 1: the great staff, but you stick around long enough and
- 13:49Speaker 1: then all of a sudden you finish and you got
- 13:51Speaker 1: this many hurries and this many sacks.
- 13:53Speaker 2: And he's just this really smart player that that he
- 13:56Speaker 2: had a crazy breakout season thirty three years old, which
- 13:59Speaker 2: is not supposed to happen with edge rushers. I don't
- 14:01Speaker 2: know if I've ever seen this before, to be honest
- 14:03Speaker 2: with you, but no, it's so so again to move
- 14:06Speaker 2: this along and finish shop Like if your team, I
- 14:10Speaker 2: know they're not all Eagles fans watching or listening, If
- 14:13Speaker 2: your team needs an edge rusher, a number two or
- 14:16Speaker 2: three or four, you can wait. Man. Yeah, Clowny's out there.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Jacob Martin, who came out of nowhere because he had
- 14:21Speaker 2: to play played six yep. Sam Williams deter Kui's unfortunes
- 14:26Speaker 2: coming from a major injury. Michael Clems was a power
- 14:28Speaker 2: end for the Jets. A Joe Tryon, Shoyanco who never
- 14:32Speaker 2: quite need it as a first round pick, wasn't quite
- 14:35Speaker 2: what the Bucks thought he should have been. Not a
- 14:37Speaker 2: bad player. Joe Asie, who I've always liked sort of
- 14:40Speaker 2: a sleeper, should be a backup Marcus Davenport. Will Brad
- 14:44Speaker 2: Holmes finally give it up and say, Okay, this guy
- 14:46Speaker 2: can't stay healthy. I got this guy wrong. Brad Holmes
- 14:48Speaker 2: pretty good GM, but he's had this thing where if
- 14:51Speaker 2: he just thinks this guy's eventually going to get it
- 14:53Speaker 2: done and he is not.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, by the way, Brad Holmes might just have been that.
- 14:57Speaker 1: He might have just elevated a status as the greatest
- 14:59Speaker 1: GM in the history of the game. He's changed David
- 15:02Speaker 1: Montgomery for two draft picks and the player. So the
- 15:06Speaker 1: Houston I don't know what the Texas are thinking. I'm
- 15:08Speaker 1: sure that there's something that I'm missing there.
- 15:10Speaker 2: But well, I mean they need to start running back.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Montgomery will be the leader, will be the lead back,
- 15:14Speaker 2: and what he marks will be the complimentary back.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I mean, come on, two picks and the I mean
- 15:19Speaker 1: two picks and a player, an offensive lineman. Nonetheless, Scruggs.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Scruggs never made it, man, He's just at a Penn
- 15:27Speaker 2: State is probably overdrafted. But yeah, so yeah, again to
- 15:32Speaker 2: wrap this up, it is super deep. There are a
- 15:34Speaker 2: lot of good players here mostly if you really look
- 15:39Speaker 2: at it, Hendrickson is just in a situation where with
- 15:42Speaker 2: the organization that is cheap historically, So it's one of
- 15:47Speaker 2: those rare players. Now, we'll see if the Bengals have
- 15:53Speaker 2: shown some interest in bringing them back. We'll see if
- 15:57Speaker 2: they let him walk. If they don't make a push,
- 16:01Speaker 2: there should be a race to get this guy. He's
- 16:04Speaker 2: just I mean what I know. I know sometimes you
- 16:08Speaker 2: get concerned with guys when they get into their thirties
- 16:10Speaker 2: they start getting hurt. But that's not really been him.
- 16:13Speaker 2: He hasn't a big injury history.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Right right, hmm, that's true. That's interesting. I just you know,
- 16:20Speaker 1: you once you get to that age though, and then
- 16:22Speaker 1: you have an injury, people start to look and you
- 16:24Speaker 1: wonder if you're wearing down, you.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Know, I know, And he turns he does turn thirty
- 16:28Speaker 2: two in December, but yeah, he's basically thirty one season.
- 16:32Speaker 2: He's just I'm fascinating to see where he goes here.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, this this market could change, well not it's not
- 16:38Speaker 1: that the market could change but obviously the Max Crosby
- 16:42Speaker 1: factor is kind of out there as to whether or
- 16:44Speaker 1: not move him.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Boy, they really acting like they don't want to trade him.
- 16:47Speaker 2: But you know what, here's the thing. And I know
- 16:50Speaker 2: Crosby has told people over the years that he doesn't
- 16:52Speaker 2: want to be part of a rebuild, right and he
- 16:55Speaker 2: hasn't asked to be traded technically we know of. But
- 16:59Speaker 2: if you can get two first round picks, oh yeah,
- 17:02Speaker 2: come on, you got the spy Tech's got to move
- 17:04Speaker 2: this guy.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, if you get that, I would agree.
- 17:07Speaker 2: He's a great, amazing story he is through personally, it's
- 17:11Speaker 2: a great mind. We're talking to Paul Gunther, the former
- 17:14Speaker 2: Raiders decordinator, because he was there then and how they
- 17:19Speaker 2: found him and they were so proud of being able
- 17:24Speaker 2: to get him. And he's still doing it. Man, he's
- 17:26Speaker 2: just less few seasons. He's been hurt a lot.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Hey, I know a lot of you out there are
- 17:30Speaker 1: just like me. You either travel a lot for work
- 17:32Speaker 1: or you got a back to work policy and you're
- 17:35Speaker 1: always out of the house, but your family is still home. Well,
- 17:39Speaker 1: I feel really secure with my family at home because
- 17:42Speaker 1: I've got simply safe home alarm system. Traditional security systems,

- 18:34Speaker 1: Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic, long lines,
- 18:39Speaker 1: We've all been there, But when it comes to your cannabis,

- 19:26Speaker 1: Cammed inn Apothecary top quality cannabis, great prices, and an
- 19:30Speaker 1: experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up. And
- 19:34Speaker 1: I think what you're saying is sort of similar to
- 19:36Speaker 1: how Howie was trying to articulate how he felt about
- 19:38Speaker 1: either A. J. Brown or Tanner mcchiada. I may not
- 19:40Speaker 1: want to trade into these guys, but you canna lay
- 19:42Speaker 1: a couple of picks that I can't ignore right in
- 19:45Speaker 1: front of me, where a guy that you know either
- 19:47Speaker 1: is coming at the end of his contract or aging
- 19:49Speaker 1: or doesn't want to be here, I'm in for whatever reason. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:52Speaker 1: you just it's an offer you can't refuse. So it'd
- 19:55Speaker 1: be interesting to see if if anything happens there with Crossby.
- 19:58Speaker 1: By the way, the Raiders adam with the last team
- 20:02Speaker 1: in the NFL to hire a head coach, right, They
- 20:04Speaker 1: waited for Clint Krebak win the Super Bowl. The Chiefs,
- 20:06Speaker 1: they hired him. They have announced their entire coaching staff. Okay,
- 20:11Speaker 1: the Eagles, one of the first teams to fire a
- 20:15Speaker 1: coach when they got rid of Kevin Patulo, like two
- 20:17Speaker 1: days after the season, have still not announced their entire coaching.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and once they once they announced it, then we'll
- 20:25Speaker 2: have all the intel instead of piece mailing this thing.
- 20:27Speaker 2: We went over the big ones. Yeah, Jid Johnson's coming
- 20:30Speaker 2: in and right, you know it's out there. But who's
- 20:33Speaker 2: was once an undirected free agent with the Eagles.
- 20:36Speaker 1: That's right, that's right.
- 20:37Speaker 2: But uh, and they've always liked him. But yeah, we'll, we'll, we'll,
- 20:39Speaker 2: we'll put it together and it's uh, it's kind of
- 20:42Speaker 2: an interesting group. But I'll say this before we get
- 20:46Speaker 2: out of here. I give them credit for supporting Sean Mannion.
- 20:49Speaker 2: If you for a young coach who really needs to
- 20:52Speaker 2: support I mean, they've hired They've hired a lot of
- 20:55Speaker 2: guys and they talking to coaching agents and coaches over
- 20:59Speaker 2: the years. The Eagles pay extremely well. They're they're in
- 21:04Speaker 2: like the top third, if not higher, of coaches pay
- 21:09Speaker 2: m M. That's a tribute to Jeffrey for doing that
- 21:11Speaker 2: and coaches, Jelly, if you talk to them, as you know,
- 21:14Speaker 2: they like working for Philly and for Howie, and because
- 21:17Speaker 2: they know how he's aggressive, they're going to get in
- 21:19Speaker 2: good players. That's all. Yeah, that's all they that they want,
- 21:22Speaker 2: Just get my players. Man, I'll deal with the rest.
- 21:24Speaker 2: You know how he's Howie the way he is, but
- 21:27Speaker 2: he's very aggressive and he's got great energy and passionate
- 21:30Speaker 2: for the job. And you know, Jeffrey's good. Jeffrey is
- 21:33Speaker 2: going to spend money you know now well on coaches
- 21:36Speaker 2: he is. Now that the cash bend, as we talked
- 21:39Speaker 2: about last year we turned out to be right about that,
- 21:41Speaker 2: was going to be significantly down. This is before for
- 21:44Speaker 2: agency started, which we put them at Money Morning Show. Guys.
- 21:47Speaker 2: We hate to tell you this, but it's it's going
- 21:51Speaker 2: to be down and we're expecting something similar though a
- 21:53Speaker 2: little bit more money. I was joking with someone last
- 21:55Speaker 2: week if Jalen Phillips gets his deal, his first year
- 21:59Speaker 2: cashal probably more than they all spent for agency last season.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Well wait, they did give Jurgens that extension, right, So.
- 22:06Speaker 2: But I'm talking about player a free agency.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right, you're right correct, Oh
- 22:11Speaker 1: my god, Yeah, Phillips, he will automatically get more than
- 22:14Speaker 1: the last year.
- 22:15Speaker 2: What did they have? I think they had eleven one
- 22:17Speaker 2: year deals.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yes, with like you know, six hundred thousand, eight hundred
- 22:21Speaker 1: thousand guarantee you put it together, it might not have
- 22:23Speaker 1: been four million dollars.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Uhli got I forgot about that four million. Yeah. Unfortunately
- 22:31Speaker 2: didn't work out, but uh yeah, yeah.
- 22:34Speaker 1: We've seen tens of millions before. That was just like
- 22:36Speaker 1: completely it was crazy.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I mean it was it was actually less than I
- 22:39Speaker 2: thought they would do. I've not seen this before in
- 22:42Speaker 2: this market, but it is what it is.
- 22:45Speaker 1: That is correct, all right. So that's a look at
- 22:47Speaker 1: the free agent edge rushers. And we'll continue throughout the
- 22:49Speaker 1: week going through different positions on defense as we complete
- 22:53Speaker 1: our complete and as we complete our complete total look
- 22:57Speaker 1: at free agency in the NFL from every single position
- 23:00Speaker 1: that's going to do it. For this episode, of Inside
