- 0:34Speaker 3: Star Trek News and your listener feedback. I am Scott's
- 0:38Speaker 3: Strong Beard Bowders with Daniel Reyes and now the man
- 0:43Speaker 3: with the okayest beard, Dan Lombardo.
- 0:48Speaker 4: No, no, it's the Omega Beard. Come on, mega Beard.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I mispronounced that. I mispronounced that. Oh man, Yeah, let'na
- 0:57Speaker 3: be fighting words, Dan.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah, the great beard off has begun.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I listened to the show last weekend.
- 1:03Speaker 6: The gray beard off, Beard off either one.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I think the camera's hiding it, but I got quite
- 1:12Speaker 3: a few grayish, whitish gandolf hairs in there too, so
- 1:17Speaker 3: I've got to go, yeah, oh, you do you have
- 1:23Speaker 3: beard hairsty?
- 1:29Speaker 1: That's right, that's right.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Both my beard hairs are gray.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I'll do of them. That's right there.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, how's already doing? You were you were.
- 1:39Speaker 6: In the military. I'm sure you've heard the term he
- 1:41Speaker 6: shaved for the chocolate bar. Have you ever heard that one?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Sure?
- 1:44Speaker 6: Sure, yeah, yeah, Daniel could actually shave the chocolate bar.
- 1:49Speaker 2: That's right, that's right, that's right. Yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 3: One of the most uncomfortable moments in the military I
- 1:57Speaker 3: ever had was drill sergeant.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Came up to me and he's like, did you.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Shave, soldier? And I said, yes, Treil Sartin. He goes,
- 2:02Speaker 3: when did you shave? And I said last night? Real sorry,
- 2:05Speaker 3: this is like five o'clock in the morning. He got
- 2:08Speaker 3: I mean his his I could, I could, I could
- 2:12Speaker 3: tell what he had for breakfast that morning. He got
- 2:15Speaker 3: so close to me, it was it was very, very
- 2:19Speaker 3: homo erotic.
- 2:21Speaker 2: He just looked at me. He got right up in
- 2:22Speaker 2: my face.
- 2:23Speaker 3: He's like un assceptible and like Roger that Dril sart.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Wow, he just wanted to He just wanted to get
- 2:35Speaker 1: close to me.
- 2:35Speaker 2: And now I enjoyed not shaving.
- 2:39Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah, well we got special Forces. He because you know
- 2:45Speaker 2: Space Force.
- 2:45Speaker 3: You know they normally make you shave, but he must
- 2:48Speaker 3: be the special forces kind.
- 2:50Speaker 6: Well, you know, I don't get the seal on my
- 2:53Speaker 6: face anymore with the with the mosk.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Right, I'm allowed to have the beard now, yeah, yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 3: your your space.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Doesn't matter in space? Worce.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Do you have the little light ups on your shoulders
- 3:10Speaker 1: as well?
- 3:11Speaker 7: No, no, we do not.
- 3:14Speaker 6: We do not have the uh uh target acquisition lights
- 3:19Speaker 6: as I like to right?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Oh oh do the do the do the mag boots
- 3:24Speaker 2: have their own spilt in sound effects?
- 3:27Speaker 7: Yes?
- 3:27Speaker 6: Yeah, perfect, except that in space you can't hear them.
- 3:31Speaker 6: You can hear them in the laps.
- 3:35Speaker 1: That's right, that's right.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That's great.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Do they light up green? Just so you know it's
- 3:39Speaker 1: on not the fact that you stick to the ground.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Welcome to space force cast everybody.
- 3:46Speaker 1: That's right, that's right. We're learning so much today.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Oh Daniel, how you do it?
- 3:53Speaker 1: I'm good, I'm good. It's it's my brother's birthday month.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Okay, happy birthday?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Well his birthday's not until the fourteenth, But just
- 4:03Speaker 1: because he has a down syndrome doesn't mean he's stupid,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and he realizes that we will celebrate as much as
- 4:09Speaker 1: he wants all.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Month long, a long happy birthday.
- 4:13Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 1: So we went out to Tai food with him last
- 4:16Speaker 1: night and he was so excited.
- 4:18Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, but uh oh, you guys have been what
- 4:24Speaker 1: you been up to, dan Ah the grudge go.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 6: So the garuge sale was was okay. We did it
- 4:35Speaker 6: Sunday and Monday, okay because those were not because we
- 4:39Speaker 6: felt those were the best days, but mostly because I
- 4:40Speaker 6: couldn't get my acts together in time to do it
- 4:44Speaker 6: on Saturday. We made a few hard bucks. But what
- 4:48Speaker 6: was nice is I just sat out on the driveway
- 4:52Speaker 6: for hours with my wife, sipping coffee and chatting, and
- 4:57Speaker 6: I said to her, you know, we should do this
- 4:58Speaker 6: again next week, not a yard sale, just sit outside
- 5:02Speaker 6: zip coffee.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, nice, nice.
- 5:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I forgot to supply your yard sale.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I didn't send you a Michael Burnham, you know, like
- 5:14Speaker 3: a daily plan. I'm sorry, I'll let me know, let
- 5:17Speaker 3: me know the next time you have a grade sale,
- 5:19Speaker 3: I'll send you another one.
- 5:20Speaker 1: You got to know, how were those devil dogs.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I did not purchase the devil dogs.
- 5:27Speaker 7: I just saw them and and you know, I thought
- 5:31Speaker 7: of you guys.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I have fond memories of those devil dogs. For
- 5:36Speaker 3: those who don't remember or don't know, haven't been listening
- 5:38Speaker 3: that long. Dan once sent me a package of double dogs.
- 5:43Speaker 2: That was great. I could not stop laughing.
- 5:47Speaker 4: For those For those who are not longtime listeners.
- 5:50Speaker 6: I used the phrase devil dog on the show thinking
- 5:53Speaker 6: that Drakes was a national company and currently Drake's is
- 5:56Speaker 6: a regional company, and and uh, most people outside of
- 6:00Speaker 6: the Northeast had no idea what I was talking about.
- 6:03Speaker 6: Fast forward to a week later, I'm mailing devil dogs
- 6:07Speaker 6: all over the country.
- 6:11Speaker 1: That's right.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I just found myself doing the card maneuver.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Oh nice.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, oh I'm looking, I'm wrinkly.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well, should we get yeah, should we get to
- 6:29Speaker 1: the news then? Yeah, we're doing all this talk. Oh,
- 6:37Speaker 1: do you got some in the car?
- 6:40Speaker 4: Let me just go to the devil dog container.
- 6:44Speaker 1: You know, some kids might want snacks. Maybe you got some,
- 6:46Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:48Speaker 2: All right, Star Trek news.
- 6:52Speaker 1: All right, so our first bit of Star Trek news
- 6:55Speaker 1: comes first from screen rants and uh, I don't know
- 6:59Speaker 1: if you know this, but is Star Trek Day. It
- 7:03Speaker 1: is the anniversary allegedly, it's the anniversary of Star Trek
- 7:09Speaker 1: premiering on uh, you know on NBC. Yeah, NBC in
- 7:16Speaker 1: nineteen sixty six. So yeah, that happened on September eighth.
- 7:20Speaker 1: So that is the big anniversary, so they call it
- 7:23Speaker 1: Star Trek Day. But another thing that's happening tomorrow, which
- 7:28Speaker 1: we do with Star Trek Show. Right, Like we keep
- 7:30Speaker 1: up on this, you would think we would know this
- 7:33Speaker 1: was coming. This is the first that I see on it,
- 7:35Speaker 1: and it's coming out tomorrow. Star Trek Con will be
- 7:39Speaker 1: released tomorrow. That audio podcast thing they're doing. Oh yeah,
- 7:48Speaker 1: so you can go look on your on your podcast
- 7:50Speaker 1: catchers and apps and you can sign up for it.
- 7:54Speaker 1: It's supposed to hit tomorrow. I imagine it'll be a
- 7:57Speaker 1: weekly thing. I don't think they're gonna just dump it
- 7:59Speaker 1: all that one. But I didn't know what was coming
- 8:02Speaker 1: out tomorrow. So your guess is as good as mine. Yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 1: so there you go. Okay, Yeah, Scott's like, all right,
- 8:13Speaker 1: adding it to my phone.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I get I just added it right now, So here
- 8:17Speaker 2: we go.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go. So yeah, that's that's the first
- 8:21Speaker 1: news story. Next one comes to us from trekmovie dot com.
- 8:27Speaker 1: And I don't know if you've guys have been watching
- 8:29Speaker 1: the New Alien Earth show on Hulu.
- 8:34Speaker 2: No I have not.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Okay, So the show creator, Noah Holly, is out there
- 8:41Speaker 1: making the rounds and doing interviews and Originally, Noah Holly
- 8:45Speaker 1: was going to produce a Star Trek film. So because
- 8:51Speaker 1: he's out the line, right, yeah, one of the many.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But because he was out promoting Alien, he talked a
- 8:58Speaker 1: little bit about uh, his sheld Star Trek film and
- 9:05Speaker 1: so basically what it would have done, according to him
- 9:08Speaker 1: is it would have brought about a new crew, a
- 9:11Speaker 1: new a whole new ship, new crew, all that, but
- 9:16Speaker 1: the there would be a three movie arc about Data,
- 9:23Speaker 1: the character Data. So it sounds like he wanted Brett
- 9:28Speaker 1: Spinner to come back and reprise Data as well. But
- 9:33Speaker 1: that's not one hundred clear. Could have been maybe this
- 9:39Speaker 1: would have been This would have been yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Three story arc about Data. It was called Generation's Insurrection
- 9:47Speaker 3: and Nemesis.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I know, I know, but uh, they must have some
- 9:53Speaker 1: metrics that show Data is like wildly popular, so gotta
- 9:57Speaker 1: put them in the movies again. But yeah, you wanted
- 10:02Speaker 1: to do a three story arc about Data and a
- 10:05Speaker 1: new crew.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and he was arguably the most popular character on
- 10:12Speaker 3: the Next Generation.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I think, yeah, yeah, you know so, But I mean,
- 10:19Speaker 1: what would you do with Data and another crew like
- 10:21Speaker 1: that's would it be the same Data? Would it be
- 10:25Speaker 1: like here's the third brother we found and now you know.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Nine, and then they did O'Brien centric storylines. Yeah, you
- 10:39Speaker 3: just you just have another crew another you know, and
- 10:42Speaker 3: and you do a data centric story around data and
- 10:46Speaker 3: sort of the crew of that of whatever ship is
- 10:48Speaker 3: just sort of you know, tertiary a waiting game.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Oh no, data went haywire again. Who could have seen
- 10:55Speaker 1: this coming the movie? Yeah, yeah, I mean that's probably it.
- 11:02Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Okay, I mean, all right, another news story about something
- 11:08Speaker 3: that didn't happen, and that's not gonna happen, so right right.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Yeah. We also had a quick bite about Wilson Cruz
- 11:19Speaker 1: from Start Trik Discovery Now saying that he was very
- 11:21Speaker 1: upset that they never got a musical episode. Apparently a
- 11:25Speaker 1: lot of the Star Trek Discovery actors were come from
- 11:29Speaker 1: musical theater, so they had talked about doing a musical
- 11:32Speaker 1: episode and they never got to and so he's like, oh,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I really wanted to do one, and whatever couldn't couldn't happen.
- 11:39Speaker 1: So when when Stranger Worlds did it, he was like
- 11:43Speaker 1: very jealous.
- 11:46Speaker 3: I would like to comfort Wilson Cruz by saying that
- 11:49Speaker 3: Trek cast has never done a musical episode.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yes, health or welcome.
- 11:58Speaker 1: And then our last news story comes to a from
- 12:00Speaker 1: Boston dot com and uh, take a look at this house?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Does that stream Star Trek to you? Because apparently this
- 12:08Speaker 1: home is considered a Star Trek home.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I mean.
- 12:16Speaker 4: It all.
- 12:16Speaker 3: The first thing it makes me think of is like
- 12:18Speaker 3: if the Borg assimilated those crusty, white faced people from
- 12:24Speaker 3: Star Trek, the second one, the second JJ film.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I like on Dan's like really looking at it, like,
- 12:30Speaker 1: what the hell is that?
- 12:31Speaker 6: Like what?
- 12:32Speaker 4: Because I'm on my phone, it's.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Like I know, I know, yeah, yeah, even on my computer,
- 12:36Speaker 3: I'm like, uh, it looks like to me, it looks
- 12:41Speaker 3: like somebody did a really bad plastering job.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I don't think it looks like Star Trek at all.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Are there any is that it?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, there's there's some interiors and it's it's nicer on
- 12:52Speaker 1: the inside, but there's the overview at the top which
- 12:56Speaker 1: looks like melted ice cream.
- 12:57Speaker 6: I mean, is it does Does it have like a
- 13:00Speaker 6: a bridge themed home theater or something?
- 13:03Speaker 4: What's what's going on? This?
- 13:05Speaker 1: This ugly amount of plaster is one point four million
- 13:09Speaker 1: dollars to begin with, right, and then you have to
- 13:12Speaker 1: live in Boston on top of that.
- 13:14Speaker 6: But then so here's here's here's the thing about the
- 13:18Speaker 6: northeast and the closer.
- 13:23Speaker 3: You should be a real estate agent, yeah, Boston, or
- 13:28Speaker 3: or work for the Boston Chamber of Cavers.
- 13:30Speaker 1: That's right.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Here's the thing with real estate, and especially near a
- 13:36Speaker 6: city like Boston. Uh, one point five million dollars is nothing.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Rightly not? Yeah?
- 13:45Speaker 2: Man, I could have the gutt branch out here for
- 13:47Speaker 2: one point five million dollars.
- 13:51Speaker 6: It's really sickening. I can't wait to get out of
- 13:55Speaker 6: this area. You know what, I could sell my want
- 13:59Speaker 6: my house eight years ago. I could sell it for
- 14:03Speaker 6: twice what I bought it for. The problem is I
- 14:07Speaker 6: can't go anywhere because everything else is is twice the price.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Also, mine is tripled from what I burnt bought it at.
- 14:15Speaker 3: H I've got a plot of land that we bought
- 14:17Speaker 3: last year that's next door to us.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I'll sell it to you for a good price.
- 14:22Speaker 1: There you go.
- 14:23Speaker 2: You'll have to build on it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: But you don't want the ice cream Collarsdrik house. I mean,
- 14:29Speaker 1: the the inside looks nicer, but that's relative.
- 14:34Speaker 2: There is nothing.
- 14:34Speaker 3: There is no Star Trek fan anywhere that would without context,
- 14:39Speaker 3: look at this house and go, oh, Star Trek.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I mean, the the closest thing I can think is
- 14:45Speaker 1: it kind of looks like you know, the when they
- 14:47Speaker 1: land on a like on a less technologically advanced planet
- 14:52Speaker 1: and they have those like weird shaped homes. Like that's
- 14:56Speaker 1: the closest thing I can think of. But even then,
- 15:00Speaker 1: was it.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Used in an episode or something with film?
- 15:03Speaker 1: There just just that they call it the Star Trek
- 15:05Speaker 1: House locally that it's inspired by Star Trek.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I bet, I bet there's some Star Trek geek that
- 15:13Speaker 3: the rich geek that lives there probably has his own
- 15:15Speaker 3: Star Trek podcast, goes to Star Trek conventions and comic
- 15:19Speaker 3: cons and he just self proclaims himself like, you know,
- 15:22Speaker 3: oh wait, that sounds a lot like me.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Oh wait, he give the looks more like Joba the
- 15:27Speaker 1: hus vacation home.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 6: It's funny how sometimes local, local things will we'll just
- 15:35Speaker 6: get named something and the name will stick. So there's
- 15:38Speaker 6: a building nearby and it's and it's two domes, it's
- 15:43Speaker 6: two semi circles and they're joined together by like like
- 15:49Speaker 6: a small building in between. And one day I called
- 15:52Speaker 6: it the Booby Building because it looks like a set
- 15:55Speaker 6: of prests as you drive. And uh yeah, that's that's
- 15:59Speaker 6: what that builuildings called. Now it's the it's the boobie building.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a marijuana of course it is.
- 16:08Speaker 3: We have a residential home in our near the near
- 16:11Speaker 3: our county that a bunch of domes that looks like boobies.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, boo house, boob house.
- 16:19Speaker 1: There. There's a guy in uh in Spokane Valley. He's
- 16:24Speaker 1: got what they call the castle house because over the
- 16:27Speaker 1: course of thirty years he has literally been converting his
- 16:30Speaker 1: actual home into an actual castle because he doesn't have
- 16:34Speaker 1: an h O A So good luck stopping him. No,
- 16:37Speaker 1: he's got like turrets and it's crazy Google, is that?
- 16:43Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 16:44Speaker 1: Yeah, his home is his castle literally. Yeah, and that's
- 16:49Speaker 1: just right.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And you know what I applaud that. Yeah. Yeah, you
- 16:52Speaker 2: own land.
- 16:53Speaker 3: You own your house on a piece of land that
- 16:55Speaker 3: you own, you know, and just don't even get me
- 16:59Speaker 3: start at h O A s.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Yeah what you want?
- 17:05Speaker 7: All right?
- 17:05Speaker 1: So there's there's your ugly as star trek as for
- 17:08Speaker 1: one point four million. Enjoy living in Boston.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yeah, the prices of land, Like Dan, you might I
- 17:17Speaker 3: have a question for you you you live in the
- 17:19Speaker 3: New York area. Do you live near New York City?
- 17:22Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not asking for an address, but okay, I.
- 17:26Speaker 7: Mean it's commutable, it's commutable.
- 17:28Speaker 2: But no, I always.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Look at I always look at like I've been watching
- 17:33Speaker 3: a lot of Blue Bloods, and they always show they
- 17:35Speaker 3: pan across the city, and they show like I'm in
- 17:38Speaker 3: the first couple of seasons, so they're showing one trade
- 17:41Speaker 3: World War trade center and being built, and they always
- 17:44Speaker 3: pan across.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Even when I watched Friends.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I would look at this Central Park like this, there's
- 17:50Speaker 3: there's there's this metropolis of buildings that are three inches
- 17:55Speaker 3: from each other, and then you've got acres and acres
- 17:57Speaker 3: and acres of open like four wrist and grass and
- 18:01Speaker 3: this giant rectangle.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And I'm like, how many times have developers begged the
- 18:07Speaker 2: city please let me have a piece of this? Oh?
- 18:09Speaker 2: For sure? You know what I'm saying.
- 18:11Speaker 1: It's it's a lovely place.
- 18:13Speaker 7: You get mug.
- 18:14Speaker 6: You have people that are born and raised in New
- 18:17Speaker 6: York City and they lived their whole life there and
- 18:20Speaker 6: they and they just never they never leave.
- 18:23Speaker 4: And that's the close Central Park.
- 18:25Speaker 6: It's like the closest thing that they get to nature,
- 18:31Speaker 6: the country nature.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah, right right, that's crazy.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I mean that that that that piece of land has
- 18:36Speaker 3: got to be worth half a trillion dollars if they
- 18:39Speaker 3: were to sell it off.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Well, God not New York though. Well I noticed like
- 18:46Speaker 2: in parts of it there is a little part that
- 18:48Speaker 2: jets out that like they've tried to claw way at
- 18:52Speaker 2: it a little bit.
- 18:52Speaker 3: You know, it's not a perfect rectangle. It's it's I
- 18:55Speaker 3: don't know what that area is, but mm hmm, I'm
- 18:59Speaker 3: curious about it. My wife and I have actually been
- 19:01Speaker 3: talking about maybe making a trip to New York sometimes
- 19:02Speaker 3: the next couple of years.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I've never been. I'd like to. I'd like to visit,
- 19:06Speaker 2: you know, I'd like to go to the well.
- 19:08Speaker 6: You know, the the best thing about visiting New York
- 19:12Speaker 6: City is that there's still time to go somewhere else
- 19:14Speaker 6: and stuff.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say, let's all go to Boston.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Let's yeah, I heard.
- 19:27Speaker 6: If you do, if you do make a trip to
- 19:29Speaker 6: New York City, Uh, let me know.
- 19:32Speaker 3: And you you were, you were one of the points
- 19:36Speaker 3: of interest that we were talking about.
- 19:37Speaker 1: So I can tell you a horrible hotel will not
- 19:39Speaker 1: stay at.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Okay, oh all right, well let's uh, let's move on
- 19:49Speaker 3: to the main topic then.
- 19:50Speaker 4: All right, fun will now come out.
- 19:59Speaker 1: All right, it's our main topic. Is we are reviewing
- 20:03Speaker 1: Start to Exchange in the Worlds Season three, episode nine, Terrarium. Yes, yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 1: did you want to do the recap?
- 20:13Speaker 2: Scott No?
- 20:16Speaker 1: No, yeah, sure, okay.
- 20:24Speaker 3: So basically this episode is about Ortegas crash landing on
- 20:30Speaker 3: a planet and coming to face to face with another
- 20:35Speaker 3: crash landed pilot who happens to be a gorn, and
- 20:42Speaker 3: comedy ensues.
- 20:44Speaker 1: That's right, it's hilarious.
- 20:46Speaker 2: That's that's that's basically a lot of chatter on this
- 20:50Speaker 2: about this episode online.
- 20:53Speaker 3: You know a lot of people uh making comparisons between
- 20:57Speaker 3: this and Starship My uh, I'm sorry.
- 21:01Speaker 2: What's the name of the movie? Yes, Enemy Mine with
- 21:05Speaker 2: Dennis Quaid from It.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Also reminded me of that one, that one enterprise episode
- 21:11Speaker 1: where Trip is on the planet and it's hot and
- 21:14Speaker 1: he's stuck with the other guy and they can't communicate.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Oh right, right right, yeah, it reminded me of that.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I thought it had strong Darmock vibes too.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that too. I mean, it's nothing new they've done
- 21:32Speaker 1: they've done episodes like this before, but it was a
- 21:36Speaker 1: classic Star Tric episode.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Right right. Yeah? Uh. I thought it was a good episode.
- 21:46Speaker 2: I really enjoyed it. There was a couple of.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Things I didn't you know, Ortegas is I don't think
- 21:53Speaker 3: would be able to take a part of the tricorder
- 21:56Speaker 3: and make a one way uh communicator, uh universal translator,
- 22:04Speaker 3: but I did. I did like the interaction between her
- 22:06Speaker 3: and and and the Lady Gorn.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it was, it was fun. It was it was fun.
- 22:13Speaker 3: I also man teaching an alien how to play chess
- 22:18Speaker 3: mm hmm. I found that I don't know how long
- 22:22Speaker 3: they were there, but it would it would take like
- 22:27Speaker 3: I speak English, and it would take if I didn't
- 22:29Speaker 3: know how to play chess, it would take Ortegas a
- 22:31Speaker 3: month to teach me how to play, right.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I wondered about that because she she crashed lands and
- 22:38Speaker 1: she's like I'm hungry, like immediately, you know, right, and
- 22:44Speaker 1: looking at her rations and trying to figure that out.
- 22:47Speaker 1: My thought was when she went through the wormhole, was
- 22:50Speaker 1: there like some sort of time dilation? So maybe for
- 22:53Speaker 1: her it felt like she was on that planet for
- 22:56Speaker 1: I don't know, a week or so and for the Enterprise.
- 23:00Speaker 1: It was only a few hours.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the first thing that I was thinking about it.
- 23:03Speaker 3: But going through a wormhole or you know, a black
- 23:05Speaker 3: hole or something like that, is time does some weird stuff,
- 23:08Speaker 3: and I didn't. I was disappointed they didn't address that
- 23:10Speaker 3: in the in the show.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But yeah, oh, Wilson's that enterprise episode I was talking about.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It's called Dawn, okay, cool and uh yeah, yeah, I
- 23:24Speaker 1: mean they this is uh, you know, a classic episode
- 23:28Speaker 1: set up. You're you're on a planet with the enemy
- 23:30Speaker 1: and can you make friends?
- 23:33Speaker 2: Right right?
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yeah. I I enjoyed it. It felt like classic Star
- 23:38Speaker 1: Trek to me. I thought it was really dealt, well done.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I may even say it might be my favorite episode
- 23:45Speaker 1: of the season so far.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Uh yeah, it was. It was good. It was good.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I I thought, I don't know that
- 23:57Speaker 3: the ending was a little disappointing. I I thought maybe
- 24:01Speaker 3: I think I think I saw somebody online say, you know,
- 24:03Speaker 3: it would have been interesting if they had saved the
- 24:06Speaker 3: Gorn and brought the Gorn on board, and maybe that
- 24:09Speaker 3: Gorn could have helped h Noonians saying deal with some
- 24:13Speaker 3: of her issues, Like maybe there could have been some
- 24:15Speaker 3: sort of interaction in the next episode or next season,
- 24:18Speaker 3: you know, where this Gorn maybe becomes some kind of
- 24:23Speaker 3: ambassador or some kind of you know, I don't know
- 24:26Speaker 3: where they're where they're going story wise with the Gorn, but.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I I guess my one criticism was,
- 24:33Speaker 1: like earlier in the season, we had the thing where
- 24:38Speaker 1: where Ortegas was acting up because she had that issue
- 24:42Speaker 1: with the Gorn, like she she saw one in the
- 24:44Speaker 1: in the reflection. She it seemed like she was somehow
- 24:49Speaker 1: being influenced by Gorn because of her attack with them earlier, right,
- 24:55Speaker 1: So I thought somehow that would have played into this,
- 25:00Speaker 1: like maybe she could mentally I don't know, like word
- 25:04Speaker 1: for word communicate, but at least like get impressions from
- 25:07Speaker 1: the pilot or something like that, something something to make that, Yeah,
- 25:11Speaker 1: that tie in a little bit more other than just oh,
- 25:14Speaker 1: I happen to be here with the Gordon.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Right right.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Well, I'm also wondering what they're gonna do, Like I
- 25:22Speaker 3: don't know much about the Gorn in the original series
- 25:25Speaker 3: other than that famous Kirk Gorn episode. Like I don't
- 25:28Speaker 3: remember in the original series, was this an ongoing thing?
- 25:30Speaker 3: Did they I don't remember in that particular episode, did
- 25:33Speaker 3: they say, oh, we've never we haven't talked to the
- 25:36Speaker 3: Gorn since five years ago when we had the Great Gorn.
- 25:38Speaker 2: War anything like that. I don't remember what the backstory
- 25:41Speaker 2: is and the Gorn.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and I know that we're unshackled from Cannon and
- 25:45Speaker 3: all that. But is there any way that what we've
- 25:49Speaker 3: seen in Strange New Worlds or Enterprise could lead up
- 25:55Speaker 3: to a Kirk Gorn battle on on that planet. Which,
- 26:01Speaker 3: by the way, that that alien at the end, that
- 26:04Speaker 3: was the same alien from what I read online, that
- 26:09Speaker 3: person that showed up was the same alien as the
- 26:11Speaker 3: person that put the Gorn and Kirk together in the
- 26:14Speaker 3: original series, right right species?
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the Metreon, Yeah.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Metreon, that's right, Yeah, the Metro. It was Metreons that
- 26:25Speaker 2: did the They were doing the thing.
- 26:28Speaker 1: You never seen them in the episode, but it's like
- 26:30Speaker 1: a one line thing. Yeah. So so yeah, in Arena,
- 26:37Speaker 1: they're only mentioned. It's a mention. Yeah, you don't see them. Okay,
- 26:41Speaker 1: so that's they added it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: So it's the one elderly Gorn in Arena that fights
- 26:48Speaker 2: Captain Kirk.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh, Desiree says, I thought she was hallucined might
- 26:52Speaker 1: be hallucinating, referring to when I said that she saw
- 26:56Speaker 1: the gorn reflection. Oh oh, okay, okay, yeah, she might be,
- 27:03Speaker 1: I I guess. But she was also acting up a
- 27:07Speaker 1: little more defiant, a little more, you know, speaking up
- 27:12Speaker 1: when she wasn't supposed.
- 27:13Speaker 2: To right ear.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Yeah, we thought through about halfway through the episode, you know,
- 27:18Speaker 3: Desiree says maybe that this is like a fever dream
- 27:21Speaker 3: and she's like still unconscious in a shuttle. I'm like, yeah,
- 27:24Speaker 3: that's what I And then when she said that, I'm like,
- 27:26Speaker 3: I was ninety percent sure that that's how they were
- 27:28Speaker 3: gonna play it. Yeah, And when they ended the episode
- 27:30Speaker 3: like no, this wasn't a few I was surprised. Yeah,
- 27:34Speaker 3: you know, because she hit her head at the very
- 27:36Speaker 3: beginning of oh yeah, she had blood coming from her head,
- 27:39Speaker 3: and I thought for sure that yeah.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yeah, And I thought it was weird.
- 27:42Speaker 3: That this this uh chunky rock in space would have
- 27:46Speaker 3: a class M sort of you know, breatheable atmosphere.
- 27:50Speaker 1: There's dan Able says enjoyed the episode until that part,
- 27:57Speaker 1: and I rolled my eyes. I think he's meaning when
- 27:59Speaker 1: the Metrian shirt up.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they really wanted to. I think the writers,
- 28:04Speaker 3: you know, all the Gorn writers, Gorn episode writers probably
- 28:08Speaker 3: look at Arena and so Gorney, there's so yeah, we've
- 28:17Speaker 3: been talking about uh starting yeah Hub yeah, Gorn Hub
- 28:24Speaker 3: and you Gorn.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 28:27Speaker 6: So I spent the why I didn't know the names
- 28:29Speaker 6: of all these places anyway?
- 28:31Speaker 2: Why do you?
- 28:35Speaker 7: Because you know I've heard you.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Your Bob's not watching, right, We're good.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I hope that. So.
- 28:45Speaker 6: I spent most of this episode wondering if it was
- 28:49Speaker 6: occurring in her head.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it does. Does said the same thing.
- 28:55Speaker 6: Because they you know, they kind of hinted, they kind
- 29:00Speaker 6: of hinted a couple of times in previous episodes that
- 29:03Speaker 6: you know, she wasn't all right upstairs.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Yeah, So are they ever gonna circle back to that
- 29:12Speaker 7: or I don't know.
- 29:15Speaker 3: I mean, definitely got some PSD going on, and she's
- 29:19Speaker 3: got Yeah.
- 29:22Speaker 1: She was more defiant in earlier episodes, so yeah, yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 29:30Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Another thing that happened during this episode, boy, Una is
- 29:34Speaker 3: very tolerant of insubordination. Oh Oohura gave her false percentages
- 29:44Speaker 3: and she just let that slide.
- 29:46Speaker 1: And the pike, Yeah, Pike let Pike.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Pike, let a slide like that's that's a court
- 29:55Speaker 3: I mean, that's a court martial offense, both both of them.
- 29:58Speaker 2: That's a court mark. That's that willful and you did it.
- 30:02Speaker 3: On purpose and for the sake of undermining my whatever. Yeah,
- 30:06Speaker 3: they're Una and Pike are all about their They don't
- 30:09Speaker 3: mind in subordination at all.
- 30:11Speaker 7: Yeah, except except when it's our tegas.
- 30:14Speaker 6: Right, you know, she got she got suspended a couple
- 30:17Speaker 6: of episodes ago.
- 30:19Speaker 7: We're not doing the exact same thing, but you know,
- 30:22Speaker 7: in subordination.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Yeah, So are we gonna see uh Are we going
- 30:27Speaker 2: to see uh Uhura? You know, on on on kitchen duty.
- 30:32Speaker 7: That's always that's always bothered me about Star Trek. I've
- 30:35Speaker 7: talked about it in the past.
- 30:37Speaker 6: That's always bothered me that, you know, people will do that,
- 30:42Speaker 6: they'll they'll be insubordinate and you know if as long
- 30:47Speaker 6: as it works out in the end, it's okay. It's like, no,
- 30:51Speaker 6: that's not that's not okay, Right, that's not okay. Wharf
- 30:55Speaker 6: Wharf should have been bounced out of Starfleet thirty years ago.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Yep, he uh, I mean he's murdering dudes while on
- 31:04Speaker 1: duty and it's like, fine, Oh, he's a cling on
- 31:06Speaker 1: he can get away with.
- 31:07Speaker 7: Yeah, that's well.
- 31:08Speaker 6: That that was one I was referring to, the one
- 31:12Speaker 6: where he went back to save joon Zia instead of
- 31:15Speaker 6: completing the mission.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Yeah, they just said you Cisco just said you probably
- 31:21Speaker 3: won't ever get a command of your own, and then
- 31:24Speaker 3: I think everything. The only long term consequence I can
- 31:28Speaker 3: think of is Tom Paris. He got demoted from lieutenant
- 31:34Speaker 3: to ensign in the U in the episode about the
- 31:37Speaker 3: Ocean planet.
- 31:39Speaker 2: And that lasted for half a season.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you know, apparently time in grade doesn't
- 31:45Speaker 3: mean anything, because he then got promoted again to the
- 31:48Speaker 3: lieutenant and you know, Ensign Kim is just chilling over
- 31:52Speaker 3: there and Ops going what the F dude.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I gotta say, man, this Gorn costume was pretty great.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Loved it, that's all real.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, it's very well done.
- 32:10Speaker 6: It's like they're trying to bridge the gap between the
- 32:13Speaker 6: c g I Gorn that we've seen on this show
- 32:15Speaker 6: and what Kirk is going to be with in a
- 32:19Speaker 6: few years and kind of do something in the middle
- 32:24Speaker 6: that maybe they could sell it to us that this
- 32:27Speaker 6: is the same the same.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna be like, Okay, did I'm trying to
- 32:32Speaker 3: remember did did the Enterprise and the Enterprise didn't have
- 32:36Speaker 3: a choice on who they sent down to that planet
- 32:38Speaker 3: in the original series. I wonder if the Gorn had
- 32:40Speaker 3: a choice, like if the metro Metro gone don Metro
- 32:44Speaker 3: dome guy.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah, if if they.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Said choose, choose somebody, and the gornre like, hey, let's
- 32:51Speaker 3: let's send Ralph like he's he's already like, he's already
- 32:55Speaker 3: like four hundred and twelve, he's old.
- 32:57Speaker 2: We want to get rid of him. Anyways, he's kind of.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Clumb along in the clock of slow.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he's, yeah, along in the claw. Let's send him down.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And so that's why you have the the geriatric Gordon.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I've tried to give I'm trying to give them any
- 33:12Speaker 3: kind of canted reason why he's that way.
- 33:16Speaker 6: Uh.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I liked uh Ohura.
- 33:21Speaker 3: She she played I don't remember the actress name, but
- 33:24Speaker 3: she played a a desperate friend. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 33:30Speaker 3: she was grasping at straw. She was she really, really
- 33:34Speaker 3: really wanted to save her friend. You can tell that
- 33:37Speaker 3: there's a big friendship there. I liked the little conversation
- 33:40Speaker 3: they had at the end where Ortegas is like, you know,
- 33:46Speaker 3: they were talking about the fact that Noonan saying shot
- 33:49Speaker 3: and killed the Gorn, and she was trying to reconcile
- 33:54Speaker 3: that with the fact that, well, you know, Lon's my friend,
- 33:58Speaker 3: and so was that Gorne. And I know that Lane
- 34:03Speaker 3: was just trying to help me, and so was the Gorn,
- 34:08Speaker 3: and you know, so I think I just like that
- 34:11Speaker 3: little interaction.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah, except that she's not gonna remember her friend murdered
- 34:16Speaker 1: her their friend, so right.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Yeah, So I thought that it was neat that she
- 34:23Speaker 3: was able to keep a little piece of that Gorn game. Yeah,
- 34:28Speaker 3: that was cute that she did that little because apparently
- 34:31Speaker 3: when they played chess and then they played a game
- 34:33Speaker 3: that the Gorn knew, and then part of the game
- 34:35Speaker 3: was to eat the piece that you won with ed
- 34:39Speaker 3: ed Otaegus does this little thing where she pretends to
- 34:41Speaker 3: eat it, that hides it like like like the Gordon
- 34:45Speaker 3: either a three year old or a puppy. Yeah, I mean,
- 34:49Speaker 3: look at those eyes on that Gorn, that that Gorn
- 34:51Speaker 3: can like probably put Jeordi to shave with what it
- 34:54Speaker 3: can see or what she can see, it.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Will tell it rock candy.
- 35:02Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, why was she on this mission alone?
- 35:13Speaker 2: Honestly? You know what, they explained it away by saying
- 35:15Speaker 2: it was a weight issue.
- 35:17Speaker 7: Yeah, so that's just dumb.
- 35:24Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, put her on the mission with you know,
- 35:29Speaker 5: some crew and number five that doesn't matter, and that
- 35:32Speaker 5: guy dies in the crash.
- 35:35Speaker 7: That's so much more believable than you know, in a
- 35:41Speaker 7: way team of one that doesn't.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I will tell you why they didn't do it, because
- 35:48Speaker 1: then it becomes her saying, I'm hungry. There's a dead
- 35:52Speaker 1: dude right there. It's kind to go cannibal. I promise
- 35:57Speaker 1: you that was brought up in the writers.
- 36:00Speaker 2: To do that.
- 36:00Speaker 6: Sh shuttle decompresses and he and he gets blown out,
- 36:06Speaker 6: right because she's the pilot and she's she's strapped in
- 36:10Speaker 6: to the pilot seat, she doesn't she doesn't get blown out,
- 36:13Speaker 6: and then you know she repressurizes the cabin before impact
- 36:16Speaker 6: or what I mean?
- 36:17Speaker 1: Come on, yeah, be a.
- 36:19Speaker 7: Writer, Be a writer.
- 36:25Speaker 2: That's good advice, Daniel.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Has anybody ever told you that just gotten in your
- 36:30Speaker 3: face and grabbed you by the lapel your jacket said?
- 36:35Speaker 1: Happens all the time.
- 36:36Speaker 7: I'm talking to the the powers that be mm hmm.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Hey, well, Daniel gives the writers too much credits. I'm trying, man,
- 36:47Speaker 1: they don't know sometimes.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Boy, Yeah, I'd like to know who's in charge of
- 36:55Speaker 3: braiding Lawn's hair. Man, she's got She's got these really tight,
- 37:00Speaker 3: different every week braids. Yeah, like we've only seen her
- 37:06Speaker 3: with her hair down like once a couple episodes ago,
- 37:11Speaker 3: you know.
- 37:11Speaker 1: I I'm kind of surprised they didn't set up a
- 37:15Speaker 1: two part finale because next week's episode is that's it.
- 37:19Speaker 1: That's the finale, that's it. Yeah, yeah, well it might
- 37:23Speaker 1: be part one of the two parts that it could
- 37:25Speaker 1: be Part two is next season.
- 37:27Speaker 7: That's you know, standard Star Trek procedure.
- 37:30Speaker 1: We do know what it's about for next week. Yeah,
- 37:36Speaker 1: there's one line. It says, when an ancient and evil
- 37:40Speaker 1: alien force resurfaces, Pike must make a difficult decision to
- 37:45Speaker 1: stop it from spreading.
- 37:47Speaker 3: So now when I'm curious, because you said resurfaces, does
- 37:52Speaker 3: that mean resurfaces for them or resurfaces for us?
- 37:57Speaker 1: Who knows?
- 37:59Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, mm.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Hmm, Like is it something they've never seen before that
- 38:04Speaker 3: we have, or something that they've seen before? What ancient
- 38:06Speaker 3: thing have they seen before?
- 38:08Speaker 1: That it's gonna be Abraham Lincoln.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yep, it could very well be Abraham Lincoln. Yeh or
- 38:14Speaker 2: or q Or.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Mott has breeding skills. Matt the barber.
- 38:24Speaker 2: It'd be perfect if they had a barber.
- 38:27Speaker 1: It is such a jeep cut that he deserves this
- 38:31Speaker 1: warning warning Nerd alert, nerd alert, Yeah, absolutely, yeah, Bolean,
- 38:46Speaker 1: I had to look that up.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Bolian Yeah, mhmm.
- 38:52Speaker 1: But overall, you guys liked the episode.
- 38:54Speaker 2: I did, Yeah, I did. Yeah.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I think it was one of my favorites, if not
- 38:59Speaker 1: my favorites, of our the season.
- 39:02Speaker 3: You know, I liked uh Ortagis is growing on me,
- 39:05Speaker 3: and which is sad because I think she's gonna have
- 39:10Speaker 3: a hero's death in the series. I don't think she's
- 39:13Speaker 3: gonna get transferred. I think she's going to straight up
- 39:17Speaker 3: you know, she's gonna take She's gonna be to have
- 39:19Speaker 3: the death where she takes the shuttle, flies it off
- 39:21Speaker 3: in a way that nobody else could and slams into
- 39:25Speaker 3: another enemy ship and she's just like, tell everybody I
- 39:28Speaker 3: love them, peace out, and then.
- 39:30Speaker 1: You know you got to make room Forulu.
- 39:33Speaker 2: I think she's.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Gonna totally you know, have her like it's gonna be
- 39:36Speaker 3: like an Independence Day.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Yep, exactly the words of my generation.
- 39:46Speaker 6: Up your and then Boots Canada and just go crazy.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, uh ah. Do you do you think that
- 40:00Speaker 1: they will kill her off like last episode of the
- 40:02Speaker 1: last season.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Or we have I hope, I mean, I hope they
- 40:06Speaker 2: don't kill her off before that.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
- 40:09Speaker 2: And I hope they don't kill her off before that.
- 40:13Speaker 3: And if they do have any you know another thing
- 40:15Speaker 3: I was thinking about, if they do have another death
- 40:18Speaker 3: towards the end of the series, I hope that they can.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I hope they have,
- 40:25Speaker 3: especially if it's main character, a full fledged memorial service,
- 40:31Speaker 3: like you know, I want, Oh Scott, he's there, he
- 40:35Speaker 3: can play bagpipes.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I hope they have.
- 40:38Speaker 3: A Wrath of Khan style memorial service. I think that
- 40:44Speaker 3: would be fitting if there's a death towards the end
- 40:46Speaker 3: of season five.
- 40:49Speaker 1: H A Wolf wants to know, how are the predictions
- 40:51Speaker 1: going so far this season?
- 40:53Speaker 2: Oh, I don't even know.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Oh, I'm looking at them every week.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Very well, so we can have we can have those
- 41:02Speaker 2: results next week.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well next week A surprising amount of them. We
- 41:08Speaker 1: need to decide on during the episode. All right, so yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 41:18Speaker 1: it's you know, yeah, yes, absolutely, okay, but uh we
- 41:26Speaker 1: should probably get two yeah, all right, let me get

- 43:11Speaker 3: was from a It was from a lawyer in somewhere
- 43:15Speaker 3: in Europe saying that I had an uncle die and
- 43:17Speaker 3: leave me eight million dollars eight million.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Oh there you go, so you can buy a house
- 43:21Speaker 1: in Boston.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll have to get on that.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, buy like a thousand square foot little high I
- 43:27Speaker 3: think that's the new the prints of whatever needs five
- 43:31Speaker 3: hundred dollars to whatever.
- 43:34Speaker 2: I think that's a new scam.
- 43:35Speaker 3: Either that or I just missed out an eight million euros,
- 43:38Speaker 3: So you know, I hope.
- 43:39Speaker 1: That's how they were. The letters. Yeah, this prince needs
- 43:42Speaker 1: like five million dollars, so you know whatever, you can
- 43:45Speaker 1: send us like three bucks. That help.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I sent him an email back.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I said, would you just like my credit card information
- 43:52Speaker 3: now so we can avoid all the email back and forth.
- 43:58Speaker 8: And here's my mom's social Security number checking at her.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Too, so you anyways, as was this week's episode.
- 44:09Speaker 8: Yeah, this week's episode was finally one of the better ones,
- 44:14Speaker 8: you know, actually enjoyed it?
- 44:17Speaker 1: Did you enjoy about it?
- 44:19Speaker 8: Well, it was just besides the captain being kind of
- 44:26Speaker 8: I don't know, he's kind of complacent. He doesn't really
- 44:30Speaker 8: do anything. He just lets his career kind of walk
- 44:33Speaker 8: all over him.
- 44:34Speaker 2: It seems that way, doesn't it.
- 44:36Speaker 8: Yes, it's like for a captain, it's like, well I
- 44:40Speaker 8: kind of see how he ended up in that chair pike,
- 44:42Speaker 8: So wow, it's too complacent, like, ah, sure, you do whatever.
- 44:56Speaker 8: Let the kids run around with scissors, it's all right, man.
- 45:02Speaker 7: Yeah, we're living constantly.
- 45:15Speaker 1: You're cutting in and out a lot down.
- 45:17Speaker 6: Man.
- 45:18Speaker 8: I want to hear what Dan's saying.
- 45:20Speaker 1: So yeah, sorry man, Yeah.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Oh Dan, I think you need a nose hair trimmer.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Oh no, that's right, hey, that he he had that comment,
- 45:37Speaker 3: He asked for that.
- 45:39Speaker 2: He's like, he's moving.
- 45:42Speaker 8: Like a Scott the moment to say that too, because he's.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Gonna give me back so bad.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, probably that phone right now, right hold on,
- 45:55Speaker 3: I'm getting a call from a New York number.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, better run.
- 46:00Speaker 8: Yeah, I'll show you New York real quick. You never
- 46:06Speaker 8: been to New York.
- 46:08Speaker 2: For satellites, don't they?
- 46:10Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they do. Yeah, all sorts and.
- 46:16Speaker 2: The record I was joking.
- 46:17Speaker 3: I think you are very well manicured in your nasal department.
- 46:23Speaker 2: H uh.
- 46:26Speaker 8: One thing I didn't like was the ending of this episode.
- 46:30Speaker 8: I mean it was, it was good, and then that
- 46:32Speaker 8: ending just like I didn't need the other alien popping
- 46:35Speaker 8: up either.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Oh no, I didn't need that.
- 46:43Speaker 8: Yeah, I didn't need that at all. I was like,
- 46:45Speaker 8: I don't like this part. All right, there is Yeah,
- 46:50Speaker 8: let's see.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Ope, hey much better.
- 46:53Speaker 8: What are you saying?
- 46:55Speaker 6: Yeah, talking about timelines, Dan, I'm just I'm not convinced
- 47:01Speaker 6: he's gonna end up in the chair anymore.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Oh really, because the time end of where I'm at too, hmm.
- 47:12Speaker 4: Yeah, the unshackled and the timeline is consolant.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Or maybe it doesn't have to be.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Maybe he does end up in a chair, but it
- 47:25Speaker 3: doesn't have to be as as tragic as original series Pike.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Maybe it can be as.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Not gradual, as well as as a JJ Pike only
- 47:37Speaker 2: not getting shot.
- 47:40Speaker 8: Was kind of like in a chair, but he could
- 47:42Speaker 8: talk and do other things.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Right, And in the next movie he was he was
- 47:46Speaker 2: I think he had just a cane.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Yeah, he had a game.
- 47:51Speaker 3: So maybe maybe the the metrodomes or what. Maybe some
- 47:56Speaker 3: omnipotent alien rays can be like, Okay, you've you've made
- 47:59Speaker 3: a sacrifice and and you've done this, so you know,
- 48:03Speaker 3: here's a trade off. You're gonna be in a chair,
- 48:06Speaker 3: but your face isn't gonna be all screwed up and
- 48:07Speaker 3: you won't have to uh talk through a you know,
- 48:10Speaker 3: a beepy thing and well that's a that's a bridge
- 48:17Speaker 3: too far. Whoa, chaz, biz, that's a bridge too far.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Let's not talk about the hair.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Let's not you know, will Ours out here quoting uh
- 48:24Speaker 1: Lincoln Park saying in the end it doesn't really matter.
- 48:29Speaker 7: Yeah what uh.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Yeah, some of us are feeling numb about it.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, absolutely, it makes you want to break stuff.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Oh wait, that's linked, that's Linda's gitt Never mind, I'll
- 48:46Speaker 1: just keep rolling, rolling, rolling.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Oh well, I mean.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Uh, A wolf wants to know if we've been watching
- 48:57Speaker 1: Alien Earth.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Yes, not, No, I've watched I've only seen two Alien
- 49:06Speaker 3: hold on I've seen is the aliens? I get aliens
- 49:09Speaker 3: of predators, Alien aliens probably, Yeah, so I've seen aliens
- 49:13Speaker 3: first and Alien.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Most of the alien films. Okay, my favorite is is Aliens.
- 49:19Speaker 3: The second one, I haven't really I don't remember any
- 49:25Speaker 3: of the other ones. I don't even remember the first one.
- 49:27Speaker 3: The second one. I watched it over and over and
- 49:29Speaker 3: over again when I was a kid.
- 49:30Speaker 8: Okay, I watched They're actually excellent.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I like them.
- 49:36Speaker 2: I think I will. I think.
- 49:37Speaker 3: I started watching the Predator movies too. I watched the
- 49:39Speaker 3: first Predator and.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Second one is all right, Well I want to get
- 49:44Speaker 2: to I.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Heard praise really good, so I wanted to get to that.
- 49:46Speaker 3: But I don't know what I need to watch in
- 49:47Speaker 3: order to enjoy watch Prey. I can just watch Yeah,
- 49:51Speaker 3: you don't connect.
- 49:55Speaker 2: And I keep seeing tiktoks of scenes from another Predator
- 49:59Speaker 2: movie where the predator and the human, Like it looks
- 50:02Speaker 2: like the predator has respect for the human and gives her.
- 50:06Speaker 8: New one up and coming one.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like it's uh like it's an old timey like.
- 50:17Speaker 7: In the.
- 50:19Speaker 3: This this has got to be this has got to
- 50:20Speaker 3: be footage from something that's already been out.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Okay, there's one like really universally terrible Predator film.
- 50:31Speaker 1: It was made I don't know, like fifteen years ago,
- 50:34Speaker 1: ten years ago, something like that. Predator shows up and
- 50:37Speaker 1: they even like hand the humans a predator type suit
- 50:41Speaker 1: to wear.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Oh, okay, it's horrible, so bad, it's awful.
- 50:47Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 50:48Speaker 8: That came out like about five or six years ago.
- 50:50Speaker 1: There's yeah, so awful.
- 50:52Speaker 2: And then like as Alien Versus Predator is that when
- 50:55Speaker 2: they first merged the franchises.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Or first yes, yes, they did two of those movies.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Okay, I was the first one because I want to
- 51:04Speaker 3: watch that one.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Probably they're just dumb fun. If you overthink it, it's
- 51:10Speaker 1: it's it'll drive you mad.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Oh. I don't think I've ever been accused of overthinking anything.
- 51:14Speaker 1: There you go.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Over those So yeah.
- 51:19Speaker 3: When I when it overthinking life, absolutely overthinking when I'm
- 51:23Speaker 3: watching a movie or TV.
- 51:26Speaker 2: All right, I checked my door. Sometimes I forget to
- 51:30Speaker 2: pick it back up.
- 51:31Speaker 1: But yeah, well, Lily got one more episode left and
- 51:36Speaker 1: then we got our big predictions, so that'll be exciting.
- 51:39Speaker 8: And then what's prediction next week?
- 51:42Speaker 1: Then Pain.
- 51:46Speaker 8: Pain the Gorn are showing up next week?

- 52:00Speaker 1: already done, We've already done the Romulan. No, it's gotta

- 52:13Speaker 1: there you go.
- 52:15Speaker 8: This damned communists, rid of capitalism.
- 52:20Speaker 3: And he's going to direct the episode. He's gonna go
- 52:22Speaker 3: from executive producer to director.

- 52:29Speaker 9: Uh?
- 52:30Speaker 1: I didn't see on here, let's see.
- 52:34Speaker 2: I'm looking at IMDb. I don't think. Yeah, there's not
- 52:39Speaker 2: a lot of information on IMDb about it.
- 52:46Speaker 1: It's called New Life and New Civilizations. I know that.
- 52:51Speaker 2: September eleven, oh a.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Wolf was predicting there were kind of Captain girlfriend's other side.

- 53:32Speaker 1: I was an inside job.
- 53:34Speaker 7: Yes, I hate this time of year.
- 53:38Speaker 2: I hate Yeah.
- 53:41Speaker 1: The Internet it's never good.
- 53:43Speaker 2: No, no, it's never done a single good thing.
- 53:46Speaker 8: Every just stay off the X and Twitter.
- 53:49Speaker 1: What the hell, it's all It's all bad, It's.
- 53:51Speaker 8: All that whole week or actually two weeks.

- 53:59Speaker 1: on It's All bad. Yeah. So, and we got we
- 54:03Speaker 1: got more shows coming. We even got some stuff planned,
- 54:07Speaker 1: like a terrible movie we're gonna review at some point.
- 54:11Speaker 2: I've also I've also heard some chatter about like, uh,
- 54:14Speaker 2: we we ended before this season. We ended with a
- 54:18Speaker 2: marathon watch of Star Trek movies, and we ended at
- 54:20Speaker 2: Star Trek six, and we've got We've got four more
- 54:26Speaker 2: that's true. Uh that could be watched.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, we did that.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Yeah, generations and the rest would be Uh.
- 54:35Speaker 3: I'm kind of I'm kind of looking forward to watching
- 54:38Speaker 3: the next generation movies and talking about them because i
- 54:40Speaker 3: I've I've got them all in Blu Ray. I'm gonna
- 54:43Speaker 3: watch them, watch them once, you know, all the way through,
- 54:46Speaker 3: and the I'm gonna watch it again with the director's commentary.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Some of them have Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sertas.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so clips of that on TikTok.
