- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I am Lucas. Luna: And I am Luna. It is good to be here again. Lucas: Today we are looking at two very simple but powerful verbs. Luna: Oh, yes. The ones we use every day without thinking. Lucas: Exactly. We are going to learn how to say 'to see' and 'to hear'. Luna: This feels like a great place to start if you want to describe your world. Lucas: If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, and if today was worth a coffee to you, that is the link — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah. It really keeps these little episodes going. Lucas: Thanks for supporting us. Now, let us look at our first verb. Luna: To see. In Norwegian, that is 'å se'. Lucas: Listen closely. 'Å se'. It is short and sharp. Luna: Ah, okay. 'Å se'. Like the sound of a soft breeze? Lucas: Exactly. Just open your mouth slightly and let the air out. 'Å se'. Luna: 'Å se'. Got it. Lucas: Now, let us use it. I will say 'I see'. Luna: Okay. Is it 'jeg ser'? Lucas: Yes. 'Jeg ser'. Listen to the rhythm. 'Jeg ser'. Luna: 'Jeg ser'. That sounds easy enough. Lucas: It is. Now try saying it with me. 'Jeg ser'. Luna: 'Jeg ser'. Yes. Lucas: Perfect. Now let us add 'you see'. Luna: Is that 'du ser'? Lucas: Correct. 'Du ser'. Notice how 'ser' stays the same? Luna: Right. The ending does not change much here. Lucas: Exactly. So 'du ser'. Try it. Luna: 'Du ser'. Okay. Lucas: Good. And now 'we see'. Luna: 'Vi ser'? Lucas: Yes. 'Vi ser'. Listen to the whole group together. 'Vi ser'. Luna: 'Vi ser'. It feels very natural. Lucas: Let us put it all together quickly. 'Jeg ser'. 'Du ser'. 'Vi ser'. Luna: 'Jeg ser'. 'Du ser'. 'Vi ser'. I can feel my eyes opening just saying it. Lucas: That is the spirit. Now, let us move to the other sense. Luna: To hear. In Norwegian, that is 'å høre'. Lucas: Listen carefully. 'Å høre'. It has a soft 'h' sound at the start. Luna: Ah, 'høre'. Like the word 'here' but with an 'o'? Lucas: Very close. 'Å høre'. Try it slowly. Luna: 'Å høre'. Hmm. Is that right? Lucas: Almost. Make the 'h' breathy. 'Å høre'. You got it. Luna: 'Å høre'. Yes, that sounds better. Lucas: Now, 'I hear'. Luna: Is it 'jeg hører'? Lucas: Yes. 'Jeg hører'. Listen to the flow. 'Jeg hører'. Luna: 'Jeg hører'. Okay. Lucas: Repeat after me. 'Jeg hører'. Luna: 'Jeg hører'. Nailed it. Lucas: Great. Now 'you hear'. Luna: 'Du hører'? Lucas: Exactly. 'Du hører'. The pattern is consistent. Luna: 'Du hører'. It is getting easier. Lucas: And finally, 'we hear'. Luna: 'Vi hører'? Lucas: Yes. 'Vi hører'. Let us say them all together. Luna: 'Jeg hører'. 'Du hører'. 'Vi hører'. Lucas: Beautiful. Now let us mix them up. Can you tell me what you see? Luna: Well, I see my notebook. So, 'jeg ser notatboken'. Lucas: Perfect. And what do you hear? Luna: I hear you. So, 'jeg hører deg'. Lucas: Excellent work. Let us review the seeing verbs one more time. Luna: Okay. 'Å se'. 'Jeg ser'. 'Du ser'. 'Vi ser'. Lucas: And the hearing verbs? Luna: 'Å høre'. 'Jeg hører'. 'Du hører'. 'Vi hører'. Lucas: You are doing so well. Remember to practice these until they feel automatic. Luna: I will. Seeing and hearing are such basic needs for learning. Lucas: Exactly. Thank you for joining us on this episode of Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. Luna: See you next time. Bye.
