- 0:19Speaker 1: live from the Mercedes Benz of Baton Rouge Studio. Here's
- 0:23Speaker 1: Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Taylor, I don't know about that one. We say hello, Yeah, Larry,
- 1:00Speaker 2: that's better. That's better.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Welcome man. I don't care if you don't. If you're
- 1:04Speaker 4: not feeling it, you fake it. But I'm always feeling
- 1:07Speaker 4: it is.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I don't know, not feeling it right now?
- 1:13Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:13Speaker 6: At Luandro's working out at three fifty seven am this morning,
- 1:18Speaker 6: I feel great.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I mean I get it. She's already worked out, you know,
- 1:21Speaker 2: went home, got dressed, come back to work. I get
- 1:24Speaker 2: it and get it. Taylor, did you MO yesterday?
- 1:28Speaker 7: That's sources subject. Jake can't mo because it's just freaking
- 1:31Speaker 7: storming every day. It didn't rain for three weeks now
- 1:33Speaker 7: it won't stop.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Wow. So your lawn is ridiculously high.
- 1:37Speaker 7: That's not ridiculous it like last that's to your.
- 1:42Speaker 6: Grass right now looks like Notre Dame USC in a
- 1:45Speaker 6: tush push game, like the bush push probably where they
- 1:50Speaker 6: kept the really high, so they try to slow USC down.
- 1:56Speaker 5: You remember that we were in college. I don't remember that.
- 1:58Speaker 5: You what, I was focused on my job.
- 2:03Speaker 2: You don't remember that for real?
- 2:04Speaker 4: No, I don't know. USC.
- 2:07Speaker 2: In South Bend they smart the grass high.
- 2:10Speaker 6: They thought it'd slow USC down, but I don't know
- 2:13Speaker 6: if they thought about it makes our slow team slower
- 2:16Speaker 6: as well.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Mm hmmm hmm. But that's what happened.
- 2:19Speaker 5: It's kind of like when the old Texas Stadium for
- 2:22Speaker 5: the Dallas Cowboys, they had the big arch in the hill.
- 2:26Speaker 5: What they call it, uh, I guess it's an arch.
- 2:27Speaker 5: I don't know, the crown, crown of the field, crownd
- 2:30Speaker 5: the field. It was like if you were on one
- 2:32Speaker 5: sideline and looked at the other sideline, you see like
- 2:34Speaker 5: up to people's like waists because the crowd of the field,
- 2:37Speaker 5: because they wanted to run sideline to sideline and so
- 2:40Speaker 5: they would run it literally downhill.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Yeah, so that was U So.
- 2:44Speaker 5: When we used to play little high school playoff football
- 2:47Speaker 5: games there.
- 2:48Speaker 6: So maybe Jerry needs in Jerry's world needs to do
- 2:51Speaker 6: that again, because they've sucked ever since they moved there,
- 2:53Speaker 6: basically minus the basically they've sucked, right.
- 2:59Speaker 7: Yeah, the documentary actually came out yesterday on Netflix. I
- 3:04Speaker 7: watched the first fifteen minutes and it was Jerry Jones
- 3:07Speaker 7: talking about a radio, so I turned it off.
- 3:10Speaker 4: I did the first episode.
- 3:12Speaker 5: My feed was getting filled with the clips because I
- 3:14Speaker 5: because a lot of like, yeah, Packers fans on follow
- 3:19Speaker 5: me or I'm on their timeline or whatever, I'm I'm
- 3:20Speaker 5: there on mine, and uh, I saw a lot of
- 3:23Speaker 5: people talking about, like praising Jordan Love because apparently there's
- 3:27Speaker 5: a clip of Jerry Jones nearly like crying in the
- 3:30Speaker 5: film room talking about how that was the worst one
- 3:33Speaker 5: of the worst losses in their franchise history. Was like
- 3:36Speaker 5: the Jordan Love two years ago something like that they
- 3:39Speaker 5: beat him by like forty I can't remember what it was.
- 3:41Speaker 4: It was.
- 3:42Speaker 5: It was just filled of Jerry Jones almost crying forty
- 3:46Speaker 5: last year.
- 3:47Speaker 4: They jumped out to like that's not real. Well, but
- 3:49Speaker 4: in that.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Game, yeah, remember it was it first or second game
- 3:53Speaker 2: of the year.
- 3:53Speaker 4: It was the week it was week two they played
- 3:55Speaker 4: Panthers a week Yeah, SATs fans all set in this year.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So that game, yeah, it was two years ago talking
- 4:03Speaker 2: about him.
- 4:04Speaker 7: Packers jumped out to like a seventeen point lead in
- 4:06Speaker 7: like the first quarter.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Cowboys couldn't come back. Shocker. So did you get to
- 4:11Speaker 4: that part of the documentary.
- 4:13Speaker 2: No.
- 4:13Speaker 7: I literally got fifteen minutes into the first episode and
- 4:15Speaker 7: I was like, I'm gonna go, uh do something else.
- 4:19Speaker 6: You know, life's about choices and decisions. I say it
- 4:21Speaker 6: all the time. Yeah, you made that choice. You made
- 4:25Speaker 6: that decision.
- 4:26Speaker 4: I am gonna watch it though. Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 7: So that was just kind of in a bad mood
- 4:29Speaker 7: when I got home and I was like, I can't
- 4:30Speaker 7: deal with Jerry right now, but I'll probably watch it today.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Well, I mean Jerry's objectively great at what he does,
- 4:37Speaker 5: and I'll look. It was pretty amazing and Landman too,
- 4:41Speaker 5: really good acting. Scene we we did it was incredible.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I think that's why it was so good. Yeah, it
- 4:47Speaker 2: was incredible though.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Yeah, so I mean great.
- 4:51Speaker 5: I know you don't like it because you're fat people
- 4:53Speaker 5: that aren't like as emotionally invested in the Cowboys.
- 4:56Speaker 4: As you look at Jerry, it's like, pretty great at
- 4:59Speaker 4: what he does.
- 5:00Speaker 7: Jerry's great at what he does except running a football team.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Well, he said, he's the modern day P. T. Barnum.
- 5:06Speaker 7: You're great at stuff like that. He's great at the
- 5:09Speaker 7: entertainment value of it. He's not great at the football
- 5:11Speaker 7: part of it. Unfortunately, he owns a football.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Team, which is which is the most valuable football team
- 5:18Speaker 2: in America?
- 5:19Speaker 4: And what does football teams do? They entertain?
- 5:24Speaker 8: He should have just been like the marketing director or something.
- 5:27Speaker 7: Right, your team and don't be the GM. There's a
- 5:35Speaker 7: novel idea every other owner in the NFL.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Guess what. It's pretty much our lead topic right now.
- 5:41Speaker 5: So he's doing it, doing something right.
- 5:45Speaker 2: It's all started from the crown of the field.
- 5:50Speaker 4: From the the what do you call it?
- 5:52Speaker 9: The bush tush Bush push push a wild one, yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 9: bush push on.
- 6:04Speaker 2: On YouTube so Matthew you can see it. I can't
- 6:06Speaker 2: believe because wait, when did anybody call it that? That's
- 6:10Speaker 2: what it's called.
- 6:12Speaker 4: You can't say that to me and I'll hear for
- 6:14Speaker 4: the first time and expect me not.
- 6:15Speaker 2: To back me up here. When Matt Lionard pushed was
- 6:21Speaker 2: it no? Was it liner? I guess it sneaked it
- 6:23Speaker 2: and Bush pushed him.
- 6:24Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Bush push is wild.
- 6:30Speaker 2: His wild.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I heard it as it was.
- 6:35Speaker 6: I mean I remember obviously our entire time in college,
- 6:39Speaker 6: like we were a top five team, they were a
- 6:42Speaker 6: top I do remember the.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Play, yes, okay, I don't remember, like them cutting the
- 6:46Speaker 4: grass higher?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Is what I meant is that, Okay, yeah they did,
- 6:49Speaker 2: and that definitely happened.
- 6:50Speaker 4: It didn't work, it almost did.
- 6:53Speaker 6: And at the time, you couldn't aid a runner into
- 6:56Speaker 6: the end zone. That's why people were so mad. It's
- 6:58Speaker 6: because it's not like now where the Eagles do it like.
- 7:02Speaker 6: It was actually something you were not supposed to be
- 7:04Speaker 6: able to do.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Yeah, you still shouldn't be able to do it.
- 7:07Speaker 2: But you can.
- 7:09Speaker 6: Oh I know back then you were not even supposed
- 7:11Speaker 6: to be allowed to do so. Yeah, but it was
- 7:15Speaker 6: the USC That's what people argue. Well, I don't know
- 7:18Speaker 6: if you can have that argument.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Oh God, like how grainy that is.
- 7:22Speaker 6: I mean, he no doubt got stuffed. I mean, there's
- 7:25Speaker 6: four seconds left in the game. Notre Dame's up three seconds.
- 7:29Speaker 4: It was a subtle push. He didn't tackle him.
- 7:32Speaker 2: He knocked him out.
- 7:33Speaker 4: The club tackle him in the end zone like the
- 7:36Speaker 4: Eagles there, I.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Mean, right, but look, he's stuffed right there and.
- 7:42Speaker 4: He sold it. Well, it was perfect. He did a
- 7:44Speaker 4: good job.
- 7:44Speaker 2: God, I would be so mad if I was Notre Dame.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Why. It's just kind of like that all the NFL that.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Wasn't that was but it was illegal. It was illegal.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It's a difference now if you don't like it, stop
- 7:58Speaker 2: it and if you can't.
- 8:00Speaker 5: I think it's kind of one of those situations where
- 8:02Speaker 5: you're kind of like running like a pickscreen wide receivers
- 8:05Speaker 5: and you get in their way, but you kind of
- 8:06Speaker 5: like act like you were trying to run her out.
- 8:09Speaker 5: I think he was acting like he was trying to
- 8:10Speaker 5: make a block and he accidentally hit Matt Liner. Thank
- 8:16Speaker 5: you did a good, nice job. We should put it in. Well,
- 8:22Speaker 5: let's line up everybody like right on the in the
- 8:24Speaker 5: A gap. Yeah, then we do it that way.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Vaughn is asking us, please watch Matt Wyatt from Mississippi State. No,
- 8:33Speaker 2: I know, Matt, Well, it's on the radio call doing
- 8:36Speaker 2: a breakdown. Can OTV please break down plays like that.
- 8:39Speaker 2: We've actually talked about that.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Now doing it here on radio and trying to make
- 8:45Speaker 6: that make sense for the radio audience. It's kind of tough,
- 8:49Speaker 6: like you can get into service level stuff there. I
- 8:52Speaker 6: am going to ask Matthew to do some of those
- 8:56Speaker 6: breakdowns because you know, I would love to do the
- 8:58Speaker 6: breaks That's one of the few things he good at
- 9:00Speaker 6: in life, hydration and film breakdown.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Also a father and a good husband if his kids
- 9:07Speaker 4: for staying car we would love to do the film breakdowns.
- 9:11Speaker 5: That was I mean, we would certainly be missing out
- 9:14Speaker 5: on a good opportunity to share some expertise. But it's
- 9:18Speaker 5: hard to be finding the software like legit watch film.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I think I think matt does his off YouTube.
- 9:25Speaker 6: And also I'm not sure how he gets the copyright too,
- 9:29Speaker 6: said film. I don't know if he just says screw
- 9:32Speaker 6: it and does it. Yeah, or as for forgiveness.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Yeah, we can do that.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Definitely do that. I mean it's on YouTube.
- 9:40Speaker 6: We did in the office. See here's the problem, and
- 9:45Speaker 6: we're gonna get better. We have gotten well, not sure. Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 6: I'm sure we haven't gotten our office quite ready yet,
- 9:52Speaker 6: but it's close.
- 9:53Speaker 4: That's it.
- 9:54Speaker 6: No longer looks like a prison cell. We have painted
- 9:57Speaker 6: the walls, we got the white boards in there, the
- 10:00Speaker 6: interactive and the OG you.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Got to as bestis out of there.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Did we did you look, so, yeah, those things are coming,
- 10:12Speaker 6: Those things are going to happen. But I say, the problem,
- 10:15Speaker 6: So that play that we showed Clemson Appalachian State last week,
- 10:20Speaker 6: we went into the office and we pulled it back
- 10:23Speaker 6: up and we were talking.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Through it, and we spent thirty minutes.
- 10:26Speaker 4: On one run play. Yeah, that's the problem.
- 10:29Speaker 2: That's the problem, and uh, we got to massage that.
- 10:32Speaker 4: We got to get that down.
- 10:33Speaker 5: We have to be able to present the facts, educate
- 10:37Speaker 5: in a tight time frame. And you know, sometimes we
- 10:40Speaker 5: get a little linkedy when we talk about x's and nose.
- 10:44Speaker 5: But you're right, it's a little difficult to get it
- 10:47Speaker 5: out there and make it make sense for the radio. Yeah,
- 10:51Speaker 5: so that's why I like you kind of an advantage
- 10:52Speaker 5: if you're watching on on YouTube here. But yeah, we're
- 10:57Speaker 5: we're gonna do plenty of that during the season. We
- 10:59Speaker 5: just got to figure out the best way to do
- 11:00Speaker 5: it on the best website because it's not easy. The
- 11:03Speaker 5: way of course, we used to watch film was with
- 11:05Speaker 5: the like the Little Cowboy remote and it was like
- 11:07Speaker 5: you rewind probably the same play ninety eight times at least.
- 11:12Speaker 2: As you're talking through it. I don't know why you
- 11:14Speaker 2: don't hit Paul's.
- 11:16Speaker 5: You just rewind it. Huh rewind sometimes slow rewind. So yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 5: we gotta figure it out. We're gonna get it done.
- 11:23Speaker 5: We're going to continue to talk exits that I was
- 11:25Speaker 5: here on the show. We're going to continue to break
- 11:27Speaker 5: down plays and film every Monday and Tuesday. We're gonna
- 11:30Speaker 5: be breaking down like the key plays for LSU and
- 11:33Speaker 5: why they were key plays, What happened, what didn't happen?
- 11:36Speaker 5: What can we get better on? What did we make
- 11:38Speaker 5: an oof on?
- 11:39Speaker 4: What do we do? Great? We're gonna do it. Did
- 11:43Speaker 4: we because we play not this Saturday.
- 11:46Speaker 2: But the following that we do, Derek, that we do? Uh?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Did we play? The Caesar Rouiz clip that you and
- 11:53Speaker 2: I were breaking down was that I think I was
- 11:55Speaker 2: actually going.
- 11:55Speaker 4: To break many years bringing that. Yeah during the break.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe we can bring that one. I'll I don't
- 12:00Speaker 2: know if we need to. It wasn't great.
- 12:02Speaker 4: No, that's the whole point. He's not great.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Although Tyler Shuck did try to throw him and past
- 12:09Speaker 2: this week he did he.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Want why I mean that went?
- 12:14Speaker 3: That was?
- 12:14Speaker 5: That was pretty bad two plays for Tyler Shuk, Like,
- 12:18Speaker 5: let's be real, guys, like let's not harp on that.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Let's not make that think those two plays, think he
- 12:22Speaker 4: didn't like play well the one.
- 12:26Speaker 5: Right before that he was one way, he fell down,
- 12:28Speaker 5: took the sack, all right, I mean he can tow
- 12:32Speaker 5: it to the guard.
- 12:33Speaker 2: He played well, it's still funny though it is funny.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 6: Uh the clip that I'm gonna try to pull up
- 12:39Speaker 6: to see if he can play, it's not funny.
- 12:41Speaker 4: It's not funny at all.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Well, it's like Hendrey Miller had a great that was
- 12:45Speaker 5: a great rap by him. The rest of the offensive
- 12:48Speaker 5: line great rap by them, not bad by him.
- 12:52Speaker 2: So so I look, I I've been pretty critical of
- 12:56Speaker 2: of Kendre Miller just because you've had had multiple opportunities.
- 13:02Speaker 6: But I get it, Like you see the flashes, You're like, oh,
- 13:06Speaker 6: that's why you got a third fourth, and that's why
- 13:08Speaker 6: you continue because the flashes and if we pull this
- 13:13Speaker 6: play up, like you'll see exactly what Matt's talking about,
- 13:16Speaker 6: Like great play action comes off. The play action just
- 13:20Speaker 6: hits the linebacker right in the chin, Like the flashes
- 13:23Speaker 6: are great. But see they're looking for consistency behind ak
- 13:28Speaker 6: at that position, and that's why you brought in two
- 13:30Speaker 6: veteran players, like that's why you know cam Akers was
- 13:33Speaker 6: brought in, That's why Clyde was brought.
- 13:34Speaker 2: In last year and then retained for this year. Is
- 13:37Speaker 2: because it's great.
- 13:38Speaker 6: And man, you wish you could be like, hey, you
- 13:40Speaker 6: were going to be, you know, the the guy that
- 13:43Speaker 6: if Ak's tired, if AK can't go, like, you're our guy.
- 13:46Speaker 6: But that's why you bring in two veteran players and
- 13:48Speaker 6: you draft another one because the flashes keep him there.
- 13:53Speaker 6: But some of the dips are the reason you can't
- 13:55Speaker 6: fully give yourself over to it.
- 13:56Speaker 4: And it seems like.
- 13:59Speaker 5: For the most part, from the word coming out of
- 14:01Speaker 5: camp and the reps that we've seen during the game,
- 14:04Speaker 5: without breaking it down in too much detail, like going
- 14:07Speaker 5: back and watching all of his pass protections, all of
- 14:09Speaker 5: his running reads, it seems like he's been playing pretty consistent,
- 14:12Speaker 5: like he's flashed running the ball. Yeah, and he's looked
- 14:15Speaker 5: good on a couple of pass protection clips that we've watched.
- 14:18Speaker 5: I'd like to break down and kind of see his
- 14:20Speaker 5: stats on all of his pass protection because I know
- 14:22Speaker 5: that was like a really big thing. That's why you
- 14:24Speaker 5: wanted to bring your veteran veteran running backs in there
- 14:27Speaker 5: behind Kamara is to solidify the pass protection because you've
- 14:31Speaker 5: got some weaknesses on the offensive line and you've got
- 14:33Speaker 5: young quarterbacks. But yeah, well, let's make sure we pull
- 14:38Speaker 5: that clip up this hour and then we will look
- 14:40Speaker 5: at it and kind of show everybody the kind of
- 14:42Speaker 5: what we saw on that play. And like, as soon
- 14:46Speaker 5: as you showed that to me one time, I was like,
- 14:48Speaker 5: that's a great rep by Kendrick because he comes off
- 14:52Speaker 5: of play action feet are kind of in a weird spot.
- 14:56Speaker 5: We talked about like that Bruce Lee, like one inch
- 14:59Speaker 5: punch knock somebody down, like in a quick old Joed
- 15:02Speaker 5: the old Joe died.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Just explosive, quick, quick twitch power. He's got it. He
- 15:07Speaker 4: has got that.
- 15:07Speaker 5: He has got that gene in him and man, he's
- 15:10Speaker 5: oh he popped that guy in the mouth. And it
- 15:12Speaker 5: was a really good clip, but I think it was
- 15:14Speaker 5: a second not be good him though.
- 15:18Speaker 6: All Right, we'll see if we can pull that up
- 15:20Speaker 6: also when we come back, we'll truly get this thing started.
- 15:22Speaker 6: The coaches announced their preseason All SEC team and it
- 15:27Speaker 6: looks different than the media's All SEC preseason teams. So
- 15:31Speaker 6: we'll break that down. We'll play that play. We'll break
- 15:34Speaker 6: it down for you as well. Gosh, wez yeah, I
- 15:37Speaker 6: got it. He's played better. He needs to play better.
- 15:40Speaker 4: While you're talking, you're gonna get frustrated.
- 15:42Speaker 6: We'll show you exactly what we're talking about when we
- 15:45Speaker 6: come back here on OTB off the bench. All right,
- 15:48Speaker 6: if your business runs on printers and copiers, you better

- 18:29Speaker 2: number ten because I'm not going to say anything after
- 18:33Speaker 2: Joe died because Joe died.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Would one?
- 18:36Speaker 5: It's Joe died. Put some respect behind that man say
- 18:39Speaker 5: it often.
- 18:39Speaker 6: I got to campus my first running back individual, and
- 18:43Speaker 6: I'm like, uh, you want me and him to play
- 18:46Speaker 6: the same position?
- 18:47Speaker 4: He is different than I am. That fella looks in
- 18:50Speaker 4: every possible way.
- 18:52Speaker 6: No disrespect to any of the other running backs that
- 18:54Speaker 6: we're here in two thousand and four. But when I
- 18:57Speaker 6: saw number ten, I'm like, hmmm, so that's what I'm supposed.
- 19:01Speaker 4: To look like.
- 19:02Speaker 8: Looks like bower Sharp is going to be number ten.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Shout the bower Sharp.
- 19:05Speaker 5: So when we go down to like when I go
- 19:07Speaker 5: to a football game and you know how like former
- 19:10Speaker 5: players and the family, like you can get like go
- 19:12Speaker 5: down the sideline for the pregame and it's like always
- 19:15Speaker 5: jam packed.
- 19:15Speaker 4: There's tons of people down there.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Or you go to like the l club little tailgate
- 19:20Speaker 5: thing at the p back beforehand whatever, there's tons of
- 19:23Speaker 5: former players there.
- 19:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you see, you see.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Tons of people, see people play with some people that
- 19:27Speaker 5: played in the sixties, seventies, eighties, that well, like forever,
- 19:30Speaker 5: nobody gets me like more happy to see than when
- 19:33Speaker 5: I see Joseph die.
- 19:34Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's not very often. I love that.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you didn't come back all the time. Maybe once
- 19:38Speaker 2: a year.
- 19:39Speaker 5: I love that guy maybe something like that, or that
- 19:41Speaker 5: guy have like the utmost respect for the skill that
- 19:44Speaker 5: he had on the football team. Probably Nick Saban did
- 19:48Speaker 5: not like him for whatever reason, whatever reason didn't like
- 19:51Speaker 5: Joseph makes zero teammate worked his butt off.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Moffett loved him, and I had though.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Bruestally one. He could knock you on your rear if
- 20:08Speaker 2: you were a defensive end and his assignment was to
- 20:11Speaker 2: chip you.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Good luck.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Yeah, you were gonna you would have to pick You're
- 20:15Speaker 5: gonna pick yourself up off the ground.

- 21:24Speaker 2: I V all right.
- 21:26Speaker 6: The twenty twenty five preseason Coaches All SEC Team, there
- 21:33Speaker 6: is one LSU Tiger on the first team offense.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Any guesses, Matthew who on the coaches poll first team offense?
- 21:46Speaker 2: I want to say nes Meyer, but I feel like
- 21:48Speaker 2: you're setting me up. Go with your gut, no smile.
- 21:53Speaker 2: It is Garrett nes Meyer.
- 21:56Speaker 6: Leonora Sellers was QB one on the media preseason All
- 22:01Speaker 6: SEC Team. It is Garrettnussmeyer coming in here. And I've
- 22:06Speaker 6: always said, and I don't know if you agree or disagree,
- 22:11Speaker 6: I would much rather be on the coaches All SEC
- 22:14Speaker 6: Team than the media.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 6: Like, if I'm on the Coaches All SEC Team, good, Yeah?
- 22:20Speaker 6: I got second team. My some guy named Darren McFadden
- 22:24Speaker 6: and another guy named no Sean Moreno got first team.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I think we need to recount the votes.
- 22:28Speaker 4: That's just me again. A couple of guys like Joe died,
- 22:33Speaker 4: built a little different.
- 22:34Speaker 2: They were built a little different. But good nod here.
- 22:36Speaker 6: For Garrett Nussmeyer to get on the coaches first team
- 22:40Speaker 6: kind of shows exactly what he's you know, how he's
- 22:44Speaker 6: thought of around the SEC and so no surprise, it's
- 22:48Speaker 6: not shocking that he gets on the first team. But
- 22:51Speaker 6: and it's kind of back one I would go to,
- 22:52Speaker 6: certainly quarterback, and the coaches is more likely to like
- 22:57Speaker 6: give you a nod in respect to the experience that
- 22:59Speaker 6: you've had in the success that you've.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Had, instead of like what you could be. I think
- 23:03Speaker 5: that the the AP or the media polls more of
- 23:06Speaker 5: like the hype a little bit more, which which it
- 23:08Speaker 5: should be. That's the that's the the beauty of the entertainment.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Part of everything is like the hype and the build
- 23:14Speaker 5: up and what it could be.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Now.
- 23:16Speaker 5: Leonori's of course has done great things, but I think
- 23:19Speaker 5: the coach's poll is, yeah, it's kind of a nod. Mean,
- 23:23Speaker 5: you've you've done some great things, you're a good player,
- 23:25Speaker 5: you got good people around you.
- 23:26Speaker 4: They take everything into account.
- 23:28Speaker 5: A little bit more, but at the end of the day,
- 23:30Speaker 5: it still is a preseason ranking, so it doesn't mean anything,
- 23:32Speaker 5: but it's cool.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Uh.
- 23:34Speaker 6: Leonoras is the second team quarterback all in the preseason
- 23:38Speaker 6: All SEC team, So thank god it's on ARC.
- 23:43Speaker 2: How about that? I mean Sporting News, which is one
- 23:47Speaker 2: of the All American teams that decides if you're like,
- 23:51Speaker 2: if you're you know, a unanimous All American like they're
- 23:54Speaker 2: one of the five I believe, and they put arch
- 23:56Speaker 2: Maning as their number one first team.
- 24:00Speaker 4: He's not an American quarterback.
- 24:01Speaker 5: There was a recent mock draft I think they came
- 24:03Speaker 5: out yesterday that has him going number one overall in
- 24:08Speaker 5: this year's draft, to the New Orlen Saints, to the Browns.
- 24:14Speaker 4: The Browns are not gonna be good this year, you know.
- 24:17Speaker 4: And they might be Gordon mel Kuiper share plays, they
- 24:23Speaker 4: might win. Their depth chart came out the other day.
- 24:26Speaker 4: They have six quarterbacks. That's smart, smart, it's good play. Hey,
- 24:29Speaker 4: it's six.
- 24:30Speaker 6: They got Joe Flacco, they got Kenny Pickett. They've got
- 24:33Speaker 6: Shadia Sanders, they got Dylan Gabroe, they got Deshaun Watson, they.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Got Tyler Huntley.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah snoops, there it's true.
- 24:41Speaker 8: Well, Coacho says that arch Manning is the second coming
- 24:45Speaker 8: to Joe Burrow. So arc is you know what, well,
- 24:52Speaker 8: he didn't get snubbed. I think it's fair to leave
- 24:54Speaker 8: him off, but he was off the manning.
- 25:00Speaker 6: It's not I'm telling you like like this is no
- 25:04Speaker 6: you know all this high it it's not like demanding families,
- 25:07Speaker 6: not trying to get all this. Yeah, like that's pretty funny. No, no, no, Archie.
- 25:13Speaker 6: I can see Peyton and Eli being like he ain't
- 25:15Speaker 6: on our list and done anything over there maybe later.
- 25:20Speaker 6: There's one LSU Tiger that made first team defense with
- 25:29Speaker 6: it is with wait weeks right there in the middle
- 25:32Speaker 6: of the All SEC team UH special teams, Berrian Brown
- 25:37Speaker 6: was the return specialist. So I'm looking forward to that.
- 25:41Speaker 6: That's going to be I think a dynamic weapon for LSU.
- 25:44Speaker 6: And they got multiple guys actually that could go back there,
- 25:46Speaker 6: which is kind of the cool part. I mean, you
- 25:48Speaker 6: had multiple guys have return touchdowns just a year ago
- 25:51Speaker 6: as well, and then you add somebody that it's thought
- 25:54Speaker 6: of as the best in the SEC UH second team offense,
- 25:58Speaker 6: Caden dorm at running back, Aaron And at receiver. Second
- 26:02Speaker 6: team defense, you had Harold Perkins at linebacker.
- 26:06Speaker 4: Not star coaches, they know the coaches all purpose.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Xavian Thomas got all purpose on the second team. There
- 26:16Speaker 6: another one of those guys that certainly could be a
- 26:18Speaker 6: returner for you. Man, if I was a quarterback, I
- 26:21Speaker 6: would be like incredibly excited. Thomas also got return specialists
- 26:26Speaker 6: on the third team. But I would be excited about
- 26:29Speaker 6: all the different type of receivers that I have if
- 26:32Speaker 6: I'm Garrett Nasmeyer. Now I've talked about it over the
- 26:35Speaker 6: last couple of weeks, like I would like to have
- 26:36Speaker 6: like a group of five or six that I know
- 26:38Speaker 6: is going to be in there. But like when you
- 26:40Speaker 6: think about going down the field with Chris Hilton, when
- 26:43Speaker 6: you think about Aaron Anderson being able to do anything
- 26:45Speaker 6: under the sun, he did it last year, whatever route
- 26:47Speaker 6: you need him to run. And he started talking about Brown,
- 26:50Speaker 6: you start talking about Thomas and Kyle Parker somebody that
- 26:53Speaker 6: they continue to talk about. But the cool thing about
- 26:55Speaker 6: the receiver group, I think, and then Nick Anderson's kind
- 26:58Speaker 6: of your tall rangie and then you throw Green in there.
- 27:00Speaker 6: He's a tight end, but he's kind of a hybrid receiver.
- 27:02Speaker 6: Got six seven, Like you've got something for every situation,
- 27:07Speaker 6: and you can be very creative. It's like we talked
- 27:09Speaker 6: about with the running game, Like Xavion Thomas isn't a
- 27:11Speaker 6: running back, but I saw him encounter last year off
- 27:14Speaker 6: of an emotion into the backfield. If I'm Nustmeyer, man,
- 27:19Speaker 6: I am fired up with all the different opportunities. I
- 27:21Speaker 6: think that they're going to have to get the ball
- 27:24Speaker 6: to a playmaker in space.
- 27:26Speaker 2: And it doesn't even have to be I mean, you
- 27:28Speaker 2: know this, Matt.
- 27:28Speaker 6: It can be a throw that doesn't travel more than
- 27:30Speaker 6: three yards down the field. But all the guys that
- 27:33Speaker 6: you have to have that ability that quick now look
- 27:35Speaker 6: whatever you want to call it, smoke route to catch it,
- 27:38Speaker 6: make one guy miss and go sixty. You were talking
- 27:39Speaker 6: about that the other day.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean Garrett has the ultimate ability to make
- 27:43Speaker 5: any play down the field and he throw throwed into
- 27:48Speaker 5: tight coverage, tight windows.
- 27:49Speaker 4: But he didn't have to do that all the time.
- 27:51Speaker 5: It's great to have that ability to do it when
- 27:53Speaker 5: you have to turn it on and be able to
- 27:55Speaker 5: react to something like that. But the keys and the
- 27:58Speaker 5: pieces that Joe Sloan and company has to work with
- 28:00Speaker 5: to get creative, especially early on in big games, early
- 28:04Speaker 5: on in the clemsing game, get some get the ball
- 28:05Speaker 5: into the playmaker's hands. We don't have to do anything
- 28:08Speaker 5: crazy to where we got to pass protect for three,
- 28:11Speaker 5: four or five seconds with a new offensive line against
- 28:14Speaker 5: the team that's pinning their ears back and little death valley, Like,
- 28:18Speaker 5: we don't have to do that.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Get the ball out, get the nerves out.
- 28:22Speaker 5: And you know, I never had the luxury of being
- 28:26Speaker 5: able to be a returning starter because I didn't start
- 28:28Speaker 5: until my last year at LSU. But so but like
- 28:31Speaker 5: I can only imagine that coming back for a second
- 28:33Speaker 5: year and seeing the talent around that the quarterback or
- 28:37Speaker 5: the wide receiver room and the tight end room and
- 28:41Speaker 5: you got Caden Durham behind you. But oh yeah, I'm
- 28:43Speaker 5: returning my leading receiver in yards and.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Touchdowns as well from the year before.
- 28:48Speaker 5: Like I can only imagine like the comfort, the security
- 28:51Speaker 5: blanket that that makes you feel from a confidence level.
- 28:54Speaker 5: And it makes sense when you put all those pieces together,
- 28:58Speaker 5: why these guys are talking so confident and Coach Kelly's
- 29:00Speaker 5: giving them the freedom to talk freely about their confidence
- 29:04Speaker 5: and about the expectations for this team. Because the pieces
- 29:07Speaker 5: are there. You don't want them to go in like
- 29:09Speaker 5: half step it. You want them to be like, all right,
- 29:10Speaker 5: we got the pieces, we've shown that we can play,
- 29:13Speaker 5: and I can only imagine that confidence that having that
- 29:16Speaker 5: whole room full of talent plus the guy that was
- 29:20Speaker 5: your number.
- 29:20Speaker 6: One person a year ago. So why is that important
- 29:25Speaker 6: to me? Why is it important to have all different
- 29:27Speaker 6: guys that can do different things. Now, if you have
- 29:30Speaker 6: the ability to push the ball down the field because
- 29:33Speaker 6: you have time, that's great. But let's say that early
- 29:37Speaker 6: in the game. Why this offensive line, this new offensive
- 29:40Speaker 6: line is trying to get settled. They're trying to figure
- 29:42Speaker 6: it out a little bit. Maybe they're losing right early
- 29:45Speaker 6: in the game against a very talented defensive front from Clemson.
- 29:49Speaker 6: It's all about how quick can I get the ball
- 29:51Speaker 6: out of my hands at that point?
- 29:52Speaker 2: And then that's why it's important to have.
- 29:54Speaker 6: You've got Barrian Brown, you have Xavion Thomas, Aaron Anderson too,
- 29:58Speaker 6: he return touchdown or ago.
- 30:00Speaker 2: But you have those guys who are used to.
- 30:04Speaker 6: Working in space where you have some blockers in front
- 30:07Speaker 6: of you in the return game, right, and so it's
- 30:10Speaker 6: not going to be four like that's second nature to them.
- 30:12Speaker 6: And so it's a successful play because it went for
- 30:16Speaker 6: seven yards and you just continue on down the field, right,
- 30:20Speaker 6: you catch a ball and you make one guy miss
- 30:24Speaker 6: and you can go seventy. But even if you don't
- 30:26Speaker 6: you catch a ball, you get behind trade as Green
- 30:28Speaker 6: who's coming from the y position. He's going to kick
- 30:30Speaker 6: out the nickel that was in front of you and
- 30:33Speaker 6: you just, you know, kind of get into that tunnel
- 30:35Speaker 6: and you get seven yards.
- 30:36Speaker 2: That's a positive play And what does it do.
- 30:38Speaker 6: It slows everybody down a little bit on that defensive
- 30:41Speaker 6: front as well, when you start getting the ball out
- 30:43Speaker 6: of your hands quick. And then when you have the
- 30:44Speaker 6: receivers who have that ability, because look, not every receiver
- 30:47Speaker 6: has the ability to catch the ball, get into that tunnel,
- 30:50Speaker 6: get seven yards that we're talking about LSU I believe
- 30:53Speaker 6: it's got three, but I know they've got two that
- 30:55Speaker 6: they want to utilize.
- 30:56Speaker 5: Yeah, it's especially early on in big games, and I
- 31:00Speaker 5: would say opening games are very big. There's a lot
- 31:02Speaker 5: of hype, there's a lot of energy, there's a lot
- 31:04Speaker 5: of build up to these things.
- 31:06Speaker 4: As a play caller and developing.
- 31:10Speaker 5: A game plan around that, you have to understand the
- 31:12Speaker 5: mentality that the defense your facing is going to come
- 31:15Speaker 5: out with. They're going to come out with their hair
- 31:16Speaker 5: on fire. They're gonna come out trying to make a
- 31:18Speaker 5: statement early. Like on offense and big games, we are
- 31:21Speaker 5: always trying to withstand the blow, with stand the early.
- 31:25Speaker 4: But it's like a heavyweight bout, like with don't get.
- 31:27Speaker 5: Knocked out in the first couple of minutes because there's
- 31:30Speaker 5: a lot of energy. They're gonna come out swinging. Yeah,
- 31:32Speaker 5: with stand the big haymakers and how do you do that?
- 31:35Speaker 5: And it's like the fighting game a lot of times,
- 31:37Speaker 5: it's like use your opponent's momentum against them. That's when
- 31:40Speaker 5: you do a lot of the quick stuff. That's when
- 31:41Speaker 5: you do a little bit of misdirection, a little fake,
- 31:44Speaker 5: you know, a fake handoff right, so a little tunnel
- 31:46Speaker 5: screen to the left. You make them go one direction
- 31:48Speaker 5: because they got all this energy, and you switch them
- 31:51Speaker 5: up and you get the ball out of your hand,
- 31:52Speaker 5: you get completions, and then the game starts settling in
- 31:56Speaker 5: a little bit. So to have those the play making
- 31:59Speaker 5: a bild everywhere on the field and have all the
- 32:03Speaker 5: options available for quick kiitters, misdirection, a little bit of
- 32:10Speaker 5: a screen here or there like that is that's a
- 32:12Speaker 5: big luxury to have as a play caller.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Last point. I know we got to take a break.
- 32:16Speaker 2: I think that you have the ability to have a
- 32:20Speaker 2: trade as Green kind of lineup wherever, and.
- 32:23Speaker 6: I would love to see him like because you're not
- 32:26Speaker 6: going to fall into tendencies I don't think with defenses.
- 32:28Speaker 2: So if you had just a normal big, long.
- 32:32Speaker 6: Rangey tied end, but you know he didn't have the
- 32:34Speaker 6: skill set that trade as Green has, well, all right,
- 32:36Speaker 6: if he's out there out wide, they're gonna try to
- 32:38Speaker 6: throw something, you.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Know, behind the line of scrimmage. Him be the point
- 32:41Speaker 2: lead blocker out there.
- 32:43Speaker 6: But with his skill set, like you have the ability
- 32:46Speaker 6: for him to have a major role even when he
- 32:47Speaker 6: doesn't have the football.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Now it's got to be on him.
- 32:50Speaker 6: But that like that is something like you can utilize
- 32:52Speaker 6: him in that space because teams can't say, okay, if
- 32:56Speaker 6: fourteen's here, it's going to be this. So like that's
- 32:59Speaker 6: another part they were talking about having these receivers that
- 33:01Speaker 6: have the ability to do so having a quarterback that
- 33:04Speaker 6: is going to feel comfortable with throws behind the line
- 33:07Speaker 6: of scrimmage. I know that sounds easy, those those are
- 33:09Speaker 6: not easy.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Then you pretty tough.
- 33:11Speaker 6: Yeah, then you got a trade as Green who can
- 33:13Speaker 6: go out there and can also affect the game without
- 33:15Speaker 6: the ball.
- 33:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:18Speaker 5: I am Bower Sharp, who's been looking really good and
- 33:22Speaker 5: we know he's going to be that more traditional tight
- 33:24Speaker 5: end type, but has really flashed in training camp, making
- 33:26Speaker 5: some really good catches, getting open and so everywhere. Like
- 33:29Speaker 5: that's why I brought up the tight end room right
- 33:31Speaker 5: in conjunction with the wide receiver room, because I think
- 33:34Speaker 5: they're going to play a huge role in this and
- 33:36Speaker 5: I think early in the game, man, I would love
- 33:38Speaker 5: to see just a man it's a simple basic plays.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Spread them out, spread the defense out. How about a
- 33:44Speaker 5: naked bootleg and hit a little tight end on a
- 33:46Speaker 5: flat route. Yeah, how about we start the game that way?
- 33:49Speaker 5: Some of the best games you've ever played, I've ever
- 33:51Speaker 5: seen an offense too. Yeah, simple plays. They just execute
- 33:56Speaker 5: him really well and it's not rocket science out there.
- 33:59Speaker 5: And when you have better players than the other team does,
- 34:02Speaker 5: it comes even easier.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Don't overthink it all.
- 34:05Speaker 6: Right, when we come back, you know that was that
- 34:07Speaker 6: was positive, a lot of positivity there. But when we
- 34:12Speaker 6: come back, we'll break down some of the issues for
- 34:15Speaker 6: the New Orleans Saints offensive line and we'll tour it
- 34:18Speaker 6: right here on o TV. Off the bench, all right,

- 35:58Speaker 2: I was trying to enjoy the good your dollars and
- 36:00Speaker 2: you messed it up.

- 36:23Speaker 2: City of Angels movie at the name of the movie
- 36:27Speaker 2: said all right, maybe late nineties, not sure.
- 36:33Speaker 5: Remember the old the song Runaway Train Soul Asylum. Yeah,
- 36:37Speaker 5: so there was a music video and it showed like
- 36:40Speaker 5: pictures of actual children.
- 36:42Speaker 2: That had run away My gosh, that'd start.
- 36:45Speaker 4: And there was one of them that was from Tyler Texas.
- 36:47Speaker 4: My sister did.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Okay, well on that note, I was just trying to
- 36:52Speaker 6: enjoy one of my favorite songs of all time and
- 36:54Speaker 6: you just run that.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Uh. Taylor got a carpool Ah, we got him. Yeah,
- 37:00Speaker 2: you're at the end of car pool job.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Matt.
- 37:02Speaker 2: That's on me call you Matt Bob from now on.
- 37:06Speaker 6: All right, Tae pull up this clip, all right and
- 37:09Speaker 6: I'll tell you when to play it, but I'll set
- 37:10Speaker 6: it up real quick.
- 37:11Speaker 2: All right, this is the first preseason game.
- 37:12Speaker 6: This is obviously the New Orleans Saints going against the
- 37:15Speaker 6: Los Angeles Chargers. Okay, now, this is not going to
- 37:20Speaker 6: be a very complicated blitz. It's just not going to
- 37:24Speaker 6: be Matt and I.
- 37:27Speaker 5: It's so the only complicated part of this is they
- 37:31Speaker 5: align their defense to where they put three of the
- 37:34Speaker 5: defensive lineman, so you're gonna treat they other left like
- 37:37Speaker 5: a d lineman. They put three people to one side
- 37:39Speaker 5: of the center, which kind of messes with your rules
- 37:42Speaker 5: a little bit, but it's something as a professional, and
- 37:45Speaker 5: if you're watching on YouTube obviously, but if you're on
- 37:48Speaker 5: the radio, you do have three defensive linemen to the
- 37:51Speaker 5: left of your center. The nose tackle is kind of
- 37:54Speaker 5: in a one shade, and so that's what they're trying
- 37:56Speaker 5: to do. They're trying to overload one side and then
- 37:59Speaker 5: typically when someone overloads one side, it's going to come
- 38:02Speaker 5: from the other side.
- 38:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:04Speaker 5: Typically it's like, you know, look at my hand over
- 38:06Speaker 5: here while I do something.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Else over here over here, buddy.
- 38:10Speaker 6: So so you can go ahead and start this clipe
- 38:13Speaker 6: and I'll tell you when to stop.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Just go ahead and press play, all right, stop right there?
- 38:19Speaker 6: All right, So here's here's one of the things, all
- 38:22Speaker 6: right that it's just it's a rule, and it's on
- 38:25Speaker 6: every level of football, but it's certainly in the National
- 38:27Speaker 6: Football League. All right, Well, I actually does right, because
- 38:31Speaker 6: the most dangerous guy is going to be who he's
- 38:34Speaker 6: fanning out to. Okay, he's fanning out to the guy
- 38:37Speaker 6: that's coming off the edge, right, he is closer to
- 38:41Speaker 6: the quarterback, and within their rules, like you are going
- 38:44Speaker 6: to send the back to the inside guy, you're gonna
- 38:47Speaker 6: fan out to the outside. He's definitely more dangerous than
- 38:51Speaker 6: the linebacker coming from the second level. Now, I'll let
- 38:53Speaker 6: Matt speak on it here in a second. I'll know
- 38:55Speaker 6: what their rules were, but that was our rules. Also,
- 38:57Speaker 6: a rule that is never going to go away big
- 39:01Speaker 6: on big. You don't pass up a big guy to
- 39:04Speaker 6: go to a little guy. So you don't pass up
- 39:06Speaker 6: on a defensive lineman to go to a linebacker, to
- 39:09Speaker 6: go to a safety, to go to a corner like
- 39:11Speaker 6: whatever it might be. Like certainly when you play guard,
- 39:14Speaker 6: like this happens more at tackle, but when you're playing guard, like,
- 39:18Speaker 6: if you're watching this on YouTube, Caesar Ruiz, you see
- 39:20Speaker 6: him right there. He's your right guard. He is engaged
- 39:23Speaker 6: with the defensive tackle. There is nothing in his rules, certainly,
- 39:29Speaker 6: once he feels two guys coming right there to say
- 39:32Speaker 6: pass this off to the right tackle. There's nothing to
- 39:34Speaker 6: say you got to come back for the blitzing linebacker.
- 39:38Speaker 4: No, there's not.
- 39:39Speaker 2: So certainly somebody that's a veteran in the game like
- 39:42Speaker 2: he is.
- 39:42Speaker 5: Yeah, So what's happening is they line three defensive linemen
- 39:46Speaker 5: to the left of the center. Caesaris is playing right guard,
- 39:49Speaker 5: and so they are blitzing two guys off the edge
- 39:53Speaker 5: or they're wasn't two guys one in the A gap
- 39:55Speaker 5: and one off the edge see D gap, whatever you
- 39:58Speaker 5: want to call it. And they're playing a little game,
- 40:00Speaker 5: you know, they're playing a little te game where the
- 40:03Speaker 5: tackle basically it's gonna look like a T game. I
- 40:07Speaker 5: know it's with a linebacker, but basically he's gonna try
- 40:09Speaker 5: to pick and the guy blitzing off the edge, it's
- 40:11Speaker 5: gonna try to loop under and it's meant to confuse
- 40:14Speaker 5: the guard in the tackle, and it's trying to get
- 40:17Speaker 5: one person engaged with the guy that's the first person
- 40:22Speaker 5: coming and then let the looper kind of beat him
- 40:24Speaker 5: around the edge. But what happens here they also get
- 40:26Speaker 5: a linebacker blizzen in the A gap, and he looks
- 40:29Speaker 5: like Caees gets confused.
- 40:31Speaker 4: On his rules.
- 40:32Speaker 5: Now, if this was a scat protection, which is a
- 40:35Speaker 5: five person protection, they would have to be they would
- 40:38Speaker 5: be doing something called a big duel here, which basically
- 40:41Speaker 5: means you're gonna protect the A and they're gonna take
- 40:43Speaker 5: inside out basically. And if it's a big duel in
- 40:46Speaker 5: scat protection, that means you do not have bax help.
- 40:49Speaker 5: In this protection, they have backs help, so there's no
- 40:52Speaker 5: reason to ever come back down into a linebow. What
- 40:54Speaker 5: they would do is he would squeeze down and let
- 40:57Speaker 5: the n person come free yep or high because he's
- 41:02Speaker 5: the furthest away from the quarterback, and he gives a
- 41:04Speaker 5: quarterback a half second more to get a pass off,
- 41:07Speaker 5: get a get a hot route off, something like that.
- 41:10Speaker 5: But it looks like he gets confused in his rule.
- 41:12Speaker 2: And I want if you're watching, like everything else about
- 41:15Speaker 2: this protection is really good, really good.
- 41:18Speaker 5: Even watch the center. The center pushes everybody off to
- 41:21Speaker 5: the guard. They see that a defensive end on the
- 41:23Speaker 5: left might be is dropping into coverage and he sees
- 41:26Speaker 5: everybody's protected.
- 41:27Speaker 4: I'm gonna come back and help help my front side here.
- 41:30Speaker 5: And he comes back with authority, with power, and Kendre
- 41:35Speaker 5: Miller does a great can we play just play let's
- 41:37Speaker 5: go through that clip right.
- 41:39Speaker 2: There, just stop right there.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Boom oh punches him in the mouth.
- 41:42Speaker 5: And Kendre Miller comes off of playfake and then hits
- 41:45Speaker 5: him in the mouth, which is hard to do. And
- 41:47Speaker 5: of course Caesar so here's gets confused. He kind of
- 41:51Speaker 5: tries to get the linebacker a second and then that beat.
- 41:54Speaker 2: In the NFL doesn't matter, like that's not a starting
- 41:56Speaker 2: defensive tackle. It does not matter.
- 41:57Speaker 6: Like if you hesitate like that, if you're not sure,
- 41:59Speaker 6: you'll get exposed. And that's exactly what happens here. It
- 42:02Speaker 6: is a fantastic job by Ken Jock Miller. That's a
- 42:06Speaker 6: fantastic pocket. Kendre Miller hits the linebacker right in the face.
- 42:10Speaker 6: The center does a great job. He's like, I don't
- 42:12Speaker 6: have anybody on the left side. Let me come join
- 42:14Speaker 6: my poton is over here on the right side and
- 42:15Speaker 6: clean up a little bit.
- 42:17Speaker 2: It is a perfect pocket.
- 42:18Speaker 6: But you have a veteran player, a first round pick
- 42:22Speaker 6: years ago, that is being confused by a basic blitz
- 42:26Speaker 6: from the Chargers here in this clip. And because he's
- 42:29Speaker 6: not certain of what his assignment is, he loses because
- 42:33Speaker 6: his technique turns to crap. And again, any any it
- 42:37Speaker 6: doesn't matter pro bowl to the last, goa on the roster.
- 42:40Speaker 6: Any defensive tackle is going to beat you. And so Taylor,
- 42:44Speaker 6: go ahead and just go a little bit longer in
- 42:46Speaker 6: the clip, and I'll tell you when to stop it.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Stop right here. You lose, You lose.
- 42:51Speaker 6: You have a clean pocket. You have a quarterback that
- 42:54Speaker 6: likes his matchup. Spencer Rattler is about to throw this
- 42:57Speaker 6: football down the field.
- 42:59Speaker 2: He likes his match.
- 43:00Speaker 6: Yeah, everything else is going the right way, but a
- 43:03Speaker 6: veteran player because he's not sure on his assignment.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:07Speaker 6: I thought of originally watching this it was just technique. No,
- 43:10Speaker 6: it's his technique's poor because he doesn't know his assignment.
- 43:12Speaker 6: And now I know we got to go to break.
- 43:15Speaker 6: As you played the clip, TTE, Spencer Radley gets hitting
- 43:18Speaker 6: the chin. It's hit right in the chin. The ball
- 43:21Speaker 6: goes out of bounds. Thank goodness. It wasn't a turnover.
- 43:23Speaker 6: Thank goodness, your quarterback doesn't get hurt. And it's all
- 43:27Speaker 6: based off his assignment. He was an assignment sounds so
- 43:30Speaker 6: his technique turned to crap, and because of that, you
- 43:33Speaker 6: got your quarterback hitting the preseason.
- 43:34Speaker 5: And you know what it could. Let's hopefully we can
- 43:37Speaker 5: blame this on a new offense and a new protection
- 43:39Speaker 5: scheme because he got confused in the offense. He got
- 43:41Speaker 5: confused on what protection it was. He didn't know he
- 43:44Speaker 5: had the back help coming backside and he was trying
- 43:47Speaker 5: to protect the a gap. Then it like it clicked
- 43:49Speaker 5: on him, like one step too late that he did
- 43:51Speaker 5: have the back takes. That's all it takes. So hopefully
- 43:55Speaker 5: his payment on the mentals on that one, not the physicals.
- 43:59Speaker 6: Right, So look, you can fix that, right, you can
- 44:01Speaker 6: fix the mental portion of it. But still like they
- 44:04Speaker 6: gotta be better. You got to be better for your
- 44:05Speaker 6: offense to be successful and for your quarterback to be successful.
- 44:09Speaker 2: All right, we'll close that hour one.
- 44:10Speaker 6: When we come back off the bench, I go to
