- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hello, everyone, welcome to the Almost In his podcast today
- 0:09Speaker 2: we have Wells Adams on. He's going to talk to
- 0:11Speaker 2: us about his experience on Traders. It was a brief
- 0:15Speaker 2: experience and I'm sure you're sad about that. And we
- 0:19Speaker 2: were just talking about how you know, Ben has watched
- 0:22Speaker 2: your episode. I haven't watched it yet, and I don't
- 0:24Speaker 2: haven't watched it yet because I tried to watch Peter
- 0:27Speaker 2: season and I was so confused by the concept. Do
- 0:30Speaker 2: they give you like some training on like I think
- 0:34Speaker 2: it's the most vague thing ever, Please please explain what
- 0:37Speaker 2: it works, how it works.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah. So it's based off a game that a lot,
- 0:43Speaker 3: like a lot of people play like at house parties
- 0:46Speaker 3: called Werewolf or Mafia. And yeah, it's it's a it's
- 0:53Speaker 3: derived from like an old Russian social experiment, Okay, And
- 0:59Speaker 3: the the thought is is that the the informed few
- 1:08Speaker 3: always will be able to be more powerful than the
- 1:11Speaker 3: uninformed masses. So it's it's a little meta, I guess.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Okay, thank you for admitting that it is meta.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah. So the idea is is that you've got you know,
- 1:21Speaker 3: you go to this this castle in Scotland, and Alan Cummings,
- 1:25Speaker 3: who's this amazing actor, is the host of it, and
- 1:29Speaker 3: he's kind of the lord of the manor. And he
- 1:31Speaker 3: puts everyone around this big table and uh, makes everyone
- 1:35Speaker 3: put blindfolds on, and then you have an orgy. And
- 1:37Speaker 3: then after that, kid, I'm a joke, joking that didn't happen,
- 1:42Speaker 3: or at least what I was there gone it might
- 1:45Speaker 3: have had the orgy might have happened afterwards, which is
- 1:47Speaker 3: such a bummer. And so yeah, he chooses who the
- 1:52Speaker 3: traders are, and then basically the idea is is the
- 1:57Speaker 3: rest of the show is all the Faithfuls, the people
- 2:01Speaker 3: who aren't traders, are trying to figure out who the
- 2:03Speaker 3: traders are.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And if you are a trader, you're supposed to lie
- 2:08Speaker 2: and pretend that you're not and you're also in search.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yes, okay, yeah, and so yeah, every night the Traders
- 2:15Speaker 3: murder somebody, and then every day the Faithfuls try to
- 2:21Speaker 3: figure out who why they were murdered, and who could
- 2:26Speaker 3: have done it, and then they vote to say who
- 2:30Speaker 3: the one of the Traders is that would have murdered
- 2:32Speaker 3: that person. Does that make sense?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Okay? So do the traders get together to tell Hi
- 2:37Speaker 2: Ben Hi Ben Ben's here. I just jumped into this.
- 2:44Speaker 2: That was cool, Okay, Okay, So when you guys do
- 2:49Speaker 2: the traders get together? Do they know who each other are?
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yes? So every night they come together in like the
- 2:57Speaker 3: in a turret at like the top of the castle,
- 3:00Speaker 3: and they talk about who they want to murder, and
- 3:04Speaker 3: they write it down on a piece of parchment and
- 3:07Speaker 3: then they murder whoever they're going to murder. And then
- 3:10Speaker 3: the next morning everyone comes to breakfast and then that's
- 3:14Speaker 3: when it's revealed who they murdered that night.
- 3:16Speaker 2: But it's all a metaphorical murder.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah, No, one actually was all obviously.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But I mean, like, so do you like sit around
- 3:25Speaker 2: the round table and then you go so and so
- 3:27Speaker 2: was murdered, but they still sit in front of us.
- 3:30Speaker 3: No, you leave, you leave the show?
- 3:32Speaker 2: Oh they're just gone.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yeah okay.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Well, as I have a couple questions for you that
- 3:37Speaker 4: I'm just curious about, and I don't want to switch
- 3:40Speaker 4: gears yet, but I do have a question on this
- 3:42Speaker 4: overall reality television or like stars going back onto reality television,
- 3:48Speaker 4: how that all works.
- 3:49Speaker 5: I have a theory about, uh, why.
- 3:51Speaker 4: You were eliminated, And I want to know what you
- 3:53Speaker 4: think to this. I think everybody there realized that you're
- 3:57Speaker 4: probably the only person that actually knew how to play
- 3:59Speaker 4: this game and knew what the show was. And I mean,
- 4:03Speaker 4: if I was on that show, I would say, let's
- 4:06Speaker 4: take out the strongest person first before they can kind
- 4:09Speaker 4: of get their grip into this experience.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Do you think that had any any role in you
- 4:16Speaker 5: getting eliminated?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Now?
- 4:17Speaker 5: I mean I think that.
- 4:20Speaker 3: I think that they probably saw me as someone who
- 4:24Speaker 3: was like not a complete idiot.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You know, are you insinuating that other people in the
- 4:30Speaker 2: house are idiots?
- 4:32Speaker 3: No, of course not.
- 4:35Speaker 1: No.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I just I mean I don't even know if I
- 4:37Speaker 3: was there long enough for them to like pinpoint that
- 4:39Speaker 3: like I'm a huge threat. You know. My my plan
- 4:41Speaker 3: going into it was to like be under the radar,
- 4:43Speaker 3: really not say much, just be kind of like likable.
- 4:47Speaker 3: And you know, the first mission that we go do
- 4:49Speaker 3: is this like kind of big dragon boat race where
- 4:52Speaker 3: we had to elect someone to work the rudder to
- 4:56Speaker 3: steer the boat. And so the question was posed like,
- 4:59Speaker 3: so who's like who's the best leader here, Who's you know,
- 5:03Speaker 3: who's smart, who can do this? And everyone like unanimously
- 5:07Speaker 3: chose me, and we're like five hours in to filming
- 5:10Speaker 3: the show, and I was like, Okay, well, I'm not
- 5:12Speaker 3: doing a very good job of like staying under the
- 5:13Speaker 3: radar because apparently they think I'm some like amazing ship captain.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So so I knew I immediately. I was like, Okay,
- 5:22Speaker 3: I think that people maybe are sensing that, like I'm
- 5:25Speaker 3: outspoken or somewhat of a leader. But yeah, I don't know.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I mean, yes and no, because the way that I
- 5:32Speaker 3: get banished, the last person to make the vote is
- 5:36Speaker 3: a trader in Carolyn, and so I do think that
- 5:39Speaker 3: there was some conversation of like, if we can get
- 5:41Speaker 3: Wells out, let's get him out now. But yeah, I
- 5:46Speaker 3: mean there are some other like really really cerebral players
- 5:48Speaker 3: in the game that I would be very nervous about,
- 5:50Speaker 3: more so than me. Like I think Dylan's very smart,
- 5:52Speaker 3: and I think that they surprised that they haven't tried
- 5:55Speaker 3: to get him out because I think that Dylan, yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 3: my boy, Dylan e Fron. So Yeah, No, I mean,
- 6:02Speaker 3: I uh, that's a night. That's a nice sentiment, Ben
- 6:06Speaker 3: to say that the reason why I'm off the show
- 6:08Speaker 3: is because I was such a threat because of my
- 6:11Speaker 3: you know.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Massive brain. Uh yeah, well you got something big. So
- 6:17Speaker 5: then the.
- 6:19Speaker 4: If you get eliminated. Now you look back, is there
- 6:21Speaker 4: any strategy that you wish you would have done differently?
- 6:26Speaker 4: Like any regrets, not from the experience, and oh I
- 6:29Speaker 4: look like this, but anything that you wish you would
- 6:31Speaker 4: have gone in doing differently.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I mean, you know, Alan sits you down and ask
- 6:36Speaker 3: if you want to be a trader or not. And
- 6:38Speaker 3: I was just really indifferent. And I think that that
- 6:41Speaker 3: was probably not a really great like strategy, but that's
- 6:45Speaker 3: just how I felt, and that's how I still feel.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Like.
- 6:48Speaker 3: He was like, do you want to be a trader?
- 6:49Speaker 3: And I was like, man, if I was a trader,
- 6:50Speaker 3: I'd be good at it. Uh. If I'm not, I
- 6:52Speaker 3: think I'll be really good at like figuring out who
- 6:54Speaker 3: the traders are, because you know, on Paradise, my whole
- 6:57Speaker 3: job is to sit there and listen to these you
- 7:00Speaker 3: know people complain and whatever and give them advice and stuff.
- 7:04Speaker 3: So I'm usually like a good you know, judge of character.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And I thought I'd be able to figure out who
- 7:11Speaker 3: the traders were pretty easily. So I was just like
- 7:13Speaker 3: super indifferent, like I guess going back, like, I think
- 7:15Speaker 3: the play is to probably beg to be a trader
- 7:18Speaker 3: because at least you have you have the power to
- 7:23Speaker 3: not be banished so easily, you know, because you at
- 7:26Speaker 3: least have the other traders that should be on your side,
- 7:31Speaker 3: you can help like create diversions to put it on
- 7:35Speaker 3: other people. Whereas for my situation, I was just like
- 7:38Speaker 3: total sacrificial lamp. The truth of the matter is what
- 7:41Speaker 3: happened was they killed Derinda the night before, and everyone
- 7:45Speaker 3: thought that Dorinda was a trader, Like there was no
- 7:48Speaker 3: question in the house. We all were like, she's definitely
- 7:50Speaker 3: a trader. She was the first one to get off
- 7:52Speaker 3: the dragon boat, which means she didn't care about having immunity.
- 7:55Speaker 3: She comes back to the house so angry, yelling and
- 7:58Speaker 3: screaming at people. Everyone was like, this is a little much,
- 8:00Speaker 3: you know, it's like Jesus, calm down, so you're kind
- 8:03Speaker 3: of overacting. So that night we all were like, uh, yeah,
- 8:08Speaker 3: I think that we're all going to vote for her,
- 8:10Speaker 3: right and everyone was like uh huh. And then the
- 8:12Speaker 3: next morning she's the one who's murdered. And so I
- 8:16Speaker 3: say the thing, which is the thing that like ultimately
- 8:18Speaker 3: gets me killed, which to to your point, maybe what
- 8:21Speaker 3: I would have done differently is I wouldn't have said
- 8:22Speaker 3: the thing that I said. But I was like, that
- 8:24Speaker 3: was a dumb move. Why would you kill someone we
- 8:26Speaker 3: were already going to banish in seven hours, like get
- 8:29Speaker 3: someone else out, that's a that's a bigger threat, or
- 8:32Speaker 3: to like throw you know, confusion a different way, But
- 8:36Speaker 3: why would you We were going to do the work
- 8:38Speaker 3: for you. And so I say it, and I stand
- 8:41Speaker 3: ten toes in the sand on this. I think it
- 8:43Speaker 3: was stupid.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Uh.
- 8:44Speaker 3: They haven't made a whole lot of decisions the traders
- 8:47Speaker 3: that I think have been smart thus far. Now I
- 8:49Speaker 3: was the second, the second one out of that show,
- 8:52Speaker 3: so I don't know if it's about me, but uh yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 3: I shouldn't have said that because when I said that,
- 8:57Speaker 3: people got well one person got a fend and which
- 8:59Speaker 3: is which was Robin. And she was like, I think
- 9:01Speaker 3: it was solely smart, And I was like what And
- 9:04Speaker 3: know everyone agreed with me except for her, And then
- 9:09Speaker 3: that's how she like started the campaign against me. Was
- 9:14Speaker 3: a trader would say that? I was like, a trader
- 9:15Speaker 3: would make fun of the decision they made. I don't
- 9:17Speaker 3: know if that's true at all. Anyways, So.
- 9:23Speaker 2: A lot of these reality shows are recruiting former Bachelor
- 9:26Speaker 2: stars and you know, the former housewives and all that.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So I was on Stars on Mars and I felt
- 9:34Speaker 2: like there was no producer involvement. And then those who
- 9:38Speaker 2: were on Special Forces say the same, How was that
- 9:41Speaker 2: with with your show?
- 9:43Speaker 3: Same? Yeah, it's it's such a different experience to what
- 9:48Speaker 3: Bachelor Nation feels like, where like you have a producer
- 9:51Speaker 3: that's kind of always with you and like always does
- 9:52Speaker 3: your interviews with you and stuff. So yeah, it's very
- 9:56Speaker 3: very hands off, which I think I think is a
- 10:00Speaker 3: testament to you know, it's it's putting a lot of
- 10:04Speaker 3: faith in just the show being good, you know, like
- 10:07Speaker 3: you're not manipulating, not changing things around. So yeah, it's
- 10:13Speaker 3: no like there's not even anyone in the room when
- 10:16Speaker 3: you're doing interviews.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yes, that was my experience. I didn't like that. I
- 10:21Speaker 2: didn't like the way that they did it because I
- 10:23Speaker 2: just didn't feel it was personal. I don't know, I
- 10:25Speaker 2: felt like I needed to have some sort of rapport
- 10:27Speaker 2: with the people that I was putting this show on.
- 10:30Speaker 2: But that was just probably because of like four seasons
- 10:33Speaker 2: of The Bachelor.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and well you need the battery. You become really
- 10:38Speaker 3: close with those producers. Yeah. So so like.
- 10:42Speaker 2: The purpose, so you don't have you didn't have anyone
- 10:45Speaker 2: other than the cast interact with.
- 10:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 4: I have kind of a general question here before we
- 11:01Speaker 4: go back into some of the characters specifically that you
- 11:04Speaker 4: met during your time at Traders. And I do want
- 11:07Speaker 4: to say this, Jess, can I follow X The night
- 11:12Speaker 4: that you got eliminated, people were pretty upset about your elimination.
- 11:15Speaker 4: I think they were excited to watch you again on television,
- 11:19Speaker 4: kind of in your own work, like with your own personality,
- 11:22Speaker 4: doing your thing. I was obviously upset too. I don't
- 11:26Speaker 4: like that they let you go. I think it made
- 11:27Speaker 4: the show worse. But that's just my opinion.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Ratings would disagree with you. It's like the number one.
- 11:34Speaker 5: I don't think anybody else characters that might be the
- 11:37Speaker 5: only one that's all right.
- 11:40Speaker 4: I've watched Special Forces obviously Traders is going on right now.
- 11:44Speaker 4: There's something I don't understand because I've not been on
- 11:46Speaker 4: one of these shows.
- 11:48Speaker 5: It feels like these reality.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Television personalities, actors, athletes, you know, people that are in
- 11:55Speaker 4: the know that come on these shows, it's very quick
- 11:58Speaker 4: for them to get into some type of character. So
- 12:02Speaker 4: on Special Forces, you see the missions being done and
- 12:06Speaker 4: contestants get out of the off the mission and they
- 12:09Speaker 4: refer to, you know, the hosts of the show as chief.
- 12:14Speaker 4: You know, I think it's chief is what they call them, Like, yes, sir, yes, Chief,
- 12:16Speaker 4: Like there's a respect and it's not even doesn't feel forced,
- 12:21Speaker 4: it's it's just out of you know, respect and out
- 12:23Speaker 4: of respect for the show. Same thing with Traders. You
- 12:25Speaker 4: kind of get into character. You show up to this
- 12:28Speaker 4: house and right away you're in it, like people are acting,
- 12:31Speaker 4: people are Traders, people are you know, going along with that.
- 12:35Speaker 4: How does that happen so quickly? Is there like a
- 12:37Speaker 4: pre production, like, hey, this is who you are now
- 12:39Speaker 4: in this world? Does that just happen naturally from being
- 12:43Speaker 4: in the mansion in Scotland. I'm curious mostly asking how
- 12:47Speaker 4: do people get into characters so quickly without being professional actors?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Uh?
- 12:54Speaker 3: Well, I don't think anyone got into the Traders. Maybe,
- 12:58Speaker 3: but I think for the most part everyone just kind
- 13:00Speaker 3: of being undeniably themselves in terms of like having respect
- 13:08Speaker 3: for the host. It's Salin Cummings. You know, he's a
- 13:11Speaker 3: kind of a big star. Was in he was in
- 13:14Speaker 3: a Bond film that I was excited about. He was
- 13:16Speaker 3: in Annie with my wife. So yeah, maybe this was
- 13:22Speaker 3: one of my downfalls. I was just me there. I
- 13:25Speaker 3: was just doing me. I'm not a good enough actor
- 13:28Speaker 3: to like put on some big ruse for everybody. Maybe
- 13:32Speaker 3: if I had been a Trader, I would have done it.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I probably would have done the exact same thing, though,
- 13:37Speaker 3: just like because I think the second you start acting
- 13:39Speaker 3: little funny, is this second people start questioning, like, what's
- 13:42Speaker 3: going on? And a good example of that is with
- 13:45Speaker 3: this trader Danielle in the most recent episode that I watched,
- 13:49Speaker 3: where she starts doing things in a mission where it
- 13:52Speaker 3: makes no sense. She's not trying to save herself and
- 13:55Speaker 3: she's acting funny, and everyone's like, what is going on?
- 13:58Speaker 3: So yeah, I think the second that you start acting
- 14:00Speaker 3: a little bit different than who you are, I think
- 14:03Speaker 3: that's a big red flag. It's also interesting though, that
- 14:05Speaker 3: because this show it's an amalgamation of all these other
- 14:08Speaker 3: other reality shows, and it's like kind of like an
- 14:10Speaker 3: all star team of all these different really good reality
- 14:14Speaker 3: TV makers and people kind of come in there with
- 14:16Speaker 3: preconceived notions of like what these people are, and that's
- 14:19Speaker 3: what they are. Like the Housewives don't stop talking like
- 14:22Speaker 3: it is yelling and screaming and being funny and like, uh.
- 14:28Speaker 3: And I think one of the downfalls that I had
- 14:30Speaker 3: was Robin says something like I noticed that you started
- 14:32Speaker 3: acting a little bit different, like after this thing, and
- 14:37Speaker 3: and I was, and I know exactly what she was
- 14:38Speaker 3: talking about, like when cameras aren't rolling, like I am
- 14:41Speaker 3: not being funny, i am not talking to anybody, I'm
- 14:44Speaker 3: hanging out right, like I'm not wasting good jokes on
- 14:48Speaker 3: no cameras being on. But the Housewives they have they
- 14:54Speaker 3: could give two shots that there are cameras there. It's
- 14:57Speaker 3: just them like this all the time, which I wild
- 15:00Speaker 3: to me. So then that's the thing that you had
- 15:02Speaker 3: like kind of put into when you're judging people or
- 15:05Speaker 3: like trying to suss out people, it's like how they
- 15:08Speaker 3: are kind of in their natural habitat. And that was
- 15:11Speaker 3: a funny thing because I think that different reality TV
- 15:14Speaker 3: people are different. And then you have the people who
- 15:17Speaker 3: are really good at or go on the reality shows
- 15:19Speaker 3: that are games, right, survivor the Challenge big brother, and
- 15:24Speaker 3: then that's a whole thing because you're like, you're good
- 15:27Speaker 3: at manipulating people, whereas like the people from The Bachelor
- 15:32Speaker 3: are like good at saying you're here for the wrong reason,
- 15:36Speaker 3: you know, like that's the only thing that we can do.
- 15:40Speaker 3: So yeah, it's interesting to go in there, and I
- 15:42Speaker 3: don't think people are acting different. I think people are
- 15:44Speaker 3: just trying to figure out how people normally act when
- 15:46Speaker 3: y're there.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Very interesting, Sarah said, your wife, Sarah said that she
- 15:53Speaker 2: she said she wasn't proud of you.
- 15:57Speaker 3: That was first of all, whoever did that? Interviews I'm
- 16:02Speaker 3: annoyed with that. They asked if she was proud, and
- 16:07Speaker 3: I said, well, probably not. You know, like I'm I
- 16:09Speaker 3: want this show like like a meetly off. But I
- 16:11Speaker 3: was like, I don't think the truth of the matters.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I don't think she cares. Really. She was just like, yeah, whatever,
- 16:16Speaker 3: you're an idiot. No, she didn't say that. That's what
- 16:19Speaker 3: I think that she probably thinks. You know, at the
- 16:22Speaker 3: end of the day, she was like, great, you're gonna
- 16:24Speaker 3: come home sooner.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, yeah, it's yeah, I mean i'd be shocking.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I mean it almost be pitiful. She was proud of you, Like, well,
- 16:33Speaker 4: is this is kind of what I expected. I'm just
- 16:34Speaker 4: proud that you went like it'd be kind of like sad, like, well,
- 16:39Speaker 4: you didn't have it any other expectations for me to
- 16:41Speaker 4: be there longer. Yeah, we're proud that I showed up.
- 16:46Speaker 4: All right, Wells, you looked really good though, especially in
- 16:50Speaker 4: your pictures, your promo pictures, your video. The first episode
- 16:54Speaker 4: did a great suit on Is that a suit you
- 16:56Speaker 4: specifically chose for this moment because it felt very much
- 17:00Speaker 4: like a Trader suit?
- 17:01Speaker 3: Oh for sure. So it's so this is what sucked
- 17:04Speaker 3: about doing this show, Like a big part of it
- 17:08Speaker 3: is the fashion, Like it's now become a thing of
- 17:10Speaker 3: like you got to bring it like Alan kind of
- 17:12Speaker 3: sets the you know, sets the bar, and then you're
- 17:15Speaker 3: just like kind of chasing after Alan, like trying to
- 17:17Speaker 3: look good. So I got a freaking stylist. I paid
- 17:21Speaker 3: a ton of money all these looks. I got to
- 17:25Speaker 3: do one of them.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Dude.
- 17:30Speaker 3: I had so many cool things and then when what
- 17:33Speaker 3: they what I get banished in was my least favorite
- 17:36Speaker 3: look that they were like you gotta wear this one,
- 17:37Speaker 3: and I was like shakes. So yeah, I had so
- 17:42Speaker 3: many good I had so many good looks. I told
- 17:45Speaker 3: the stylist. I was like, I want to look you know,
- 17:47Speaker 3: like this, you know, uh, the kingsman or gentleman. I
- 17:53Speaker 3: was like, that's go find that stuff. That's what I
- 17:56Speaker 3: want to look look like. It was a lot of plaids,
- 17:58Speaker 3: a lot of tweeds, like mountains toothed. Oh, I'll tell
- 18:02Speaker 3: you what. You know, America really was robbed of just
- 18:06Speaker 3: me serving so many looks that never was seen.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Now you know what it feels like to be a
- 18:11Speaker 2: girl who's eliminated on Night one of the Bachelor. Yeah,
- 18:14Speaker 2: it's tough, disappointing.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Well, I want to dive in here a little bit
- 18:18Speaker 4: to some of the unique characters in this show. Tom
- 18:21Speaker 4: Sanderbal obviously has been in the headlines it felt it
- 18:24Speaker 4: feels like for years. Uh what was it like meeting Tom?
- 18:29Speaker 4: And did you know him before?
- 18:31Speaker 3: I don't think i'd met him before. But it's funny.
- 18:33Speaker 3: We both have the same manager, so I'm familiar with
- 18:37Speaker 3: him and his antics and stuff, and like, you know,
- 18:39Speaker 3: I guess the headlines of Tom Sandibal, you know he was.
- 18:48Speaker 3: It's funny because he's like he's like a housewife there
- 18:52Speaker 3: he talks so much, and you're like, dude, was this
- 18:55Speaker 3: ever stop? Is ever gonna stop talking? But he was
- 19:01Speaker 3: like really wanting to figure out who the traders were.
- 19:04Speaker 3: He just wasn't very good at it, or isn't very
- 19:07Speaker 3: good at it now. Who knows how things will go
- 19:11Speaker 3: going forward. But I remember thinking like, all right, if
- 19:15Speaker 3: I'm producing this TV show, okay, these are the people
- 19:18Speaker 3: that I want to make traders, and these people that
- 19:20Speaker 3: I wouldn't want to make traders, and these people that
- 19:22Speaker 3: I think that could that have like the personality or
- 19:26Speaker 3: the backbone to do it. And I remember thinking like
- 19:29Speaker 3: it would be way too on the nose to make
- 19:33Speaker 3: like America's biggest villain a villain again, Like that makes
- 19:38Speaker 3: no sense. So I remember being like, whatever, you're not.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I know you're not a trader, dude, So like whatever,
- 19:46Speaker 3: I did that out with a lot of people, and
- 19:47Speaker 3: a lot of people didn't like that. That was like
- 19:49Speaker 3: my the way that I thought I was like, I
- 19:52Speaker 3: was like singling out people who I was like, there's
- 19:55Speaker 3: no way that they'd ever be a trader, and then
- 19:57Speaker 3: like making a small pool of people who I think
- 19:59Speaker 3: were possibil these And I remember Tony who is a
- 20:02Speaker 3: homicide detective in the roundtable, which was wasn't shown, but
- 20:06Speaker 3: he gave me crap for this way of thinking, and
- 20:11Speaker 3: I was like, Tony, you're a cop, isn't like the
- 20:14Speaker 3: number one thing when a crime is committed is to
- 20:17Speaker 3: figure out who's got an alibi so they can be
- 20:20Speaker 3: out of like the investigation. What are you talking about?
- 20:24Speaker 3: And he didn't really have a very good response for that.
- 20:28Speaker 3: But yeah, Tom sandivalt was. He was just kind of
- 20:31Speaker 3: everything that you would expect Tom Sandival to be. He
- 20:34Speaker 3: didn't cheat on anybody there.
- 20:36Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 2: What was your relationship with Gabby before the show?
- 20:44Speaker 3: None? I had zero relationship with Gabby because she's never
- 20:47Speaker 3: done Paradise. She never even like come on as like,
- 20:50Speaker 3: you know, like a guest host or get you know,
- 20:52Speaker 3: date host or whatever in Paradise, so I had never
- 20:55Speaker 3: met her. She was lovely. I enjoyed hanging out with
- 20:59Speaker 3: her and the Bambi's Actually you don't watch a show,
- 21:03Speaker 3: but so there's I was like, yeah, so you have
- 21:08Speaker 3: Gabby and then you have Koshelle from Selling Sunset, and
- 21:11Speaker 3: then you have Nikki Bella from like well, I think
- 21:14Speaker 3: that she's got her own reality show, but she's also
- 21:16Speaker 3: like a wrestler. Anyways, there are these like, you know,
- 21:19Speaker 3: beautiful women who have like amazing looks, and they called
- 21:21Speaker 3: themselves the Bambies and they were like best friends. And
- 21:24Speaker 3: so after the dragon boat race, I was in the
- 21:27Speaker 3: car with the Bambi's and uh, you know, there was
- 21:31Speaker 3: this whole kind of like sub storyline of toxic masculinity
- 21:36Speaker 3: because we were because of the lot. Some of the
- 21:38Speaker 3: guys are saying the girls need to get out of
- 21:40Speaker 3: the boat first because they weren't as strong as the guys,
- 21:42Speaker 3: and YadA, YadA, YadA. And I had offered myself up
- 21:46Speaker 3: to get out because I didn't think that that was right.
- 21:49Speaker 3: And Gabby said something to the effect of like I
- 21:54Speaker 3: knew you were an ally and I was like, yes,
- 21:57Speaker 3: I'm in. I'm in with the Vanbi's and then and
- 22:02Speaker 3: I was banished and then you get kicked off but
- 22:05Speaker 3: they didn't vote for me, yeah, and then voted for me.
- 22:08Speaker 4: The there's so many questions here about what you think
- 22:11Speaker 4: happens the rest of the season, and is there anything
- 22:13Speaker 4: else you can tease about the season. My assumption is
- 22:16Speaker 4: you know very little about what happens the rest of
- 22:19Speaker 4: the season, right, sure, Yeah, Is there anything then that
- 22:24Speaker 4: you can tease about how the rest of the season
- 22:26Speaker 4: plays out that listeners and then viewers could get really
- 22:31Speaker 4: excited about.
- 22:32Speaker 3: No, I mean, I don't know, I know, I have
- 22:34Speaker 3: no idea. I'm watching it now, just like with you
- 22:37Speaker 3: guys as well. I'm really interested in this season because
- 22:44Speaker 3: I've been very critical of the traders and the decisions
- 22:47Speaker 3: that they've made, but like a lot of them haven't
- 22:49Speaker 3: made a whole lot of sense to me, and I'm
- 22:50Speaker 3: interested to see, if you know, the only smart decision
- 22:55Speaker 3: I saw someone make as a trader was Rob not
- 22:58Speaker 3: putting anybody in the caskets that was a trader, which
- 23:01Speaker 3: made everyone think that there had to have been the
- 23:04Speaker 3: trader in one of those caskets. That was a good move.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Other than that, nothing has really kind of impressed me
- 23:09Speaker 3: in terms of like them manipulating the rest of the faithfuls.
- 23:12Speaker 3: So I'm excited to see if Wes is able to
- 23:16Speaker 3: get Rob out, which looks like he's trying to hone in.
- 23:19Speaker 3: They're going to have to find another trader to replace him,
- 23:23Speaker 3: and I wonder who that person is going to be,
- 23:25Speaker 3: if one, and they'll accept it, and two if they'll
- 23:28Speaker 3: start making some better decisions to kind of right the ship,
- 23:31Speaker 3: because the Trader should win this game. They have all
- 23:34Speaker 3: the information, they are able to manipulate. The Faithful have
- 23:39Speaker 3: no idea what's going on, and it'll be interesting to
- 23:42Speaker 3: see who does win, because right now, if I'm looking
- 23:45Speaker 3: at the show completely objectively, I'm like, the Faithfuls are
- 23:49Speaker 3: going to win this game, like the Traders making these
- 23:51Speaker 3: crazy bad decisions. So I'm hoping that they are able
- 23:54Speaker 3: to bring in a new Trader that is able to
- 23:57Speaker 3: turn the tide a little bit.
- 24:09Speaker 2: So we'd like to predict. You know, I predicted that
- 24:11Speaker 2: trust that would be the next on Special Forces, and
- 24:14Speaker 2: I want to say that I think Ben is really
- 24:15Speaker 2: going to truly be the next on Special Forces from
- 24:18Speaker 2: the Bachelor franchise, except for Jess might kill him because
- 24:21Speaker 2: it'll probably be recording when they have a newborn show.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Do not do that show I having I'm more built
- 24:28Speaker 3: for like a Traders. Traders, I don't know.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I see you in the Camo.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Oh god, that's you're gonna get hurt yourself.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yea.
- 24:37Speaker 3: All these they're like Navy seals kicking your ass every day.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I know it's scary as heck.
- 24:43Speaker 3: There's not enough money in the world make me go
- 24:45Speaker 3: do that show.
- 24:45Speaker 4: I'm a better I'm a better version of myself when
- 24:48Speaker 4: Wells is with me, and so I would do it
- 24:51Speaker 4: if it was like both of us there, because then
- 24:54Speaker 4: I think we could survive. I just have this image
- 24:57Speaker 4: in my mind of us standing there at the end
- 24:59Speaker 4: getting cold water dumped over us for like eight hours straight,
- 25:02Speaker 4: being like, this is the stupidest thing I've ever done,
- 25:04Speaker 4: Like what, like what is happening?
- 25:07Speaker 3: Yeah, well, don't hold your breath because I'm never gonna
- 25:09Speaker 3: do that show. So we're not doing it together.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Special Forces producers hear this conversation to know that they
- 25:15Speaker 2: will not do it. I would because there is there
- 25:19Speaker 2: is enough money for me.
- 25:21Speaker 5: I'm not in a place to turn down money.
- 25:22Speaker 3: So I think that you should do Traders one because
- 25:31Speaker 3: you're such a likable, affable guy. And I just I
- 25:37Speaker 3: do think that TV is better when Bend's on it, you.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Know, Yeah, totally agree. Who do you think is gonna
- 25:43Speaker 2: be the next Traders bachel Are contestant?
- 25:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I mean, that'll be interesting to see.
- 25:49Speaker 3: I pitched Joey on it. He was like, I'm not
- 25:51Speaker 3: sure yet, he's like doing Dancing with the Stars. Who
- 25:56Speaker 3: is Well, I guess let's wait and see who's like
- 25:59Speaker 3: a big name on Grant season.
- 26:03Speaker 5: I have the perfect people. I can I answer this question, please?
- 26:05Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 26:07Speaker 4: I think it's it's Rachel Kirconnell. I think they have
- 26:09Speaker 4: to pull her on from this Matt James breakup and
- 26:12Speaker 4: make put her on Traders.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Yeah, or you know, it'd be even better Matt put
- 26:17Speaker 3: them both on.
- 26:24Speaker 4: That sounds like a Paradise scenario. Well, speaking of Paradise,
- 26:28Speaker 4: we've heard headlines, We've read headlines. I believe at some
- 26:32Speaker 4: point in the last six months it was like mildly
- 26:36Speaker 4: confirmed that Paradise is coming back.
- 26:39Speaker 5: What do you know about it? Would you be a
- 26:40Speaker 5: part of it? Are you a part of it?
- 26:42Speaker 6: Well?
- 26:43Speaker 3: I know that there's a new showrunner. I did see that,
- 26:46Speaker 3: like that was released, So that's like, I guess that's
- 26:49Speaker 3: like Layman terms, like that's a new boss. So it'll
- 26:52Speaker 3: be interesting to see, like what they decide to do
- 26:54Speaker 3: with the show going forward. I love doing that show.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I've done you know whatever, eight seasons, nine seasons of it,
- 27:00Speaker 3: so I think it would be a huge bummer if
- 27:03Speaker 3: I wasn't a part of it, but obviously, you know,
- 27:06Speaker 3: who knows what's going to happen, Like we weren't able
- 27:08Speaker 3: to do it last season because they were filming Golden Bachelorette,
- 27:13Speaker 3: which was a fantastic show, don't get me wrong. But
- 27:16Speaker 3: my thought is, Paradise is such fun TV, and sometimes
- 27:24Speaker 3: I watch what's on TV and I'm like, I need
- 27:26Speaker 3: more fun, I need more happiness, I need more silliness,
- 27:30Speaker 3: which I think that show does a good job of.
- 27:32Speaker 3: And so I guess my thing is is like I
- 27:34Speaker 3: hope it comes back purely for that, whether I'm a
- 27:36Speaker 3: part of it or not, I.
- 27:37Speaker 5: Don't know how.
- 27:39Speaker 4: You don't have to comment on this, wells I think
- 27:41Speaker 4: Ashley and myself both agree, And I don't think this
- 27:43Speaker 4: is a controversial statement.
- 27:44Speaker 5: I'd actually say I'd.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Put if we put a pull out there, one hundred
- 27:47Speaker 4: percent of the people degree, I don't think it is
- 27:50Speaker 4: Paradise without you there, Like, I don't think that makes
- 27:53Speaker 4: sense to me. And when I think of Paradise, I
- 27:55Speaker 4: think of you. You're like the one person that could
- 27:58Speaker 4: never leave the beach.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Now, yeah, I'm stuck in that bar.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I just don't see it without you, Like I
- 28:04Speaker 4: don't think it's as fun and silly and sometimes emotional
- 28:07Speaker 4: and romantic without you.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't disagree with you. I think I've become
- 28:13Speaker 3: on that show. Like you know, when they did the
- 28:16Speaker 3: season of the Bachelor that wasn't at the Mansion, I
- 28:20Speaker 3: felt like that was so weird and I hated it,
- 28:22Speaker 3: and I'm like, you got it. You can't you got
- 28:24Speaker 3: to go back there, Like that's such a main character,
- 28:27Speaker 3: Like that's such an important thing, and so yeah, I
- 28:31Speaker 3: think for Paradise, like it would be weird because like,
- 28:33Speaker 3: I've just been there for so long. I know, you
- 28:37Speaker 3: know what the pitfalls are. You know, I've seen so
- 28:40Speaker 3: many people find love, been a part of those relationships,
- 28:44Speaker 3: married some of them personally. So yeah, I agree with you.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I think it would be weird if I wasn't a
- 28:50Speaker 3: part of it.
- 28:50Speaker 4: But you know, if a showrunner wants to make their
- 28:53Speaker 4: life a little easier, like hey, I'm sure this person's
- 28:56Speaker 4: fully capable of doing the job that they've been hired
- 28:58Speaker 4: to do if they want to make their life a
- 29:00Speaker 4: little easier, and they happen to see this headline bring
- 29:03Speaker 4: in wells, he knows how this thing works.
- 29:06Speaker 2: They will get a lot of backlash if they don't
- 29:07Speaker 2: have you there.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I don't know if they need any more
- 29:11Speaker 3: of that either.
- 29:14Speaker 2: All right, well, thank you so much. Wells. I really
- 29:18Speaker 2: think that I'm gonna watch an episode because man, so
- 29:21Speaker 2: many people are talking about this show. So if I
- 29:23Speaker 2: watch an episode, it will be yours.
- 29:25Speaker 3: It's a first of all, I want two episodes, not
- 29:27Speaker 3: just one. Oh okay, so short, all right, but not
- 29:31Speaker 3: on three on three no, no, no, no no. It is
- 29:34Speaker 3: a fantastic show. And like the second you, I think
- 29:39Speaker 3: for you like understand what's going on. Yeah, extremely hooked.
- 29:43Speaker 3: So yeah, go, I really do think you'll like it.
- 29:46Speaker 3: And then also you should just be on it, like
- 29:49Speaker 3: go watch it so you can tell your agent to
- 29:51Speaker 3: be like, go get me the show.
- 29:53Speaker 2: I think that I'm very far down the totem pole.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I think that Caitlin Bristow will be issuing. Yeah, probably Joe.
- 30:01Speaker 4: She don't sell yourself, short short, we got ten years
- 30:04Speaker 4: of the almost famous podcasts come in your ways everywhere
- 30:06Speaker 4: you can listen to podcasts. Please go rate and review

- 30:12Speaker 4: it's a mean thing to say, don't say it at all. Wells,
- 30:15Speaker 4: thanks for coming on the show. Until next time, I've
- 30:17Speaker 4: Been Ben.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I've Been Ashley CIA.
