- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happen to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy. Into the.
- 0:21World. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way, hey?
- 0:28Everybody, good morning. Every so often you meet a person
- 0:31and this person just, I don't know, there's just something
- 0:35about this person. You look at them and you see
- 0:38that this person is special. You see that this person has
- 0:42something in them that you're supposed to know or be aware of
- 0:48or connect with. And I think because of how the
- 0:54world is now, we often guard ourselves against these things
- 0:58and we don't allow ourselves to go into connecting with them.
- 1:03And that is a huge mistake because the more you put up
- 1:08walls, the more you keep good things out too.
- 1:11And over the past few days, well, actually it's probably
- 1:14been like I, I think probably over a week and a half now, I
- 1:19have been working to purchase this little tiny work van for my
- 1:23son so he can put all his tools and keep everything safe and
- 1:27what not. And, and it wasn't from a
- 1:30regular dealership. It was from a place that was
- 1:33smaller, not considered one of the mega ones, much harder for
- 1:36people, you know, the, the bank doesn't want to loan on it.
- 1:39There's all kinds of issues with it.
- 1:41And I've met the person that owns this place and it was this
- 1:47amazing woman. And when I walked in the door, I
- 1:51could, I could just, there was something about her that made me
- 1:55stop and pause and go, OK, I feel good about this.
- 2:00And I'm all about the emotional part of things.
- 2:03You know, when I feel something, I feel it, I recognize it and I
- 2:07pay attention to it. So immediately I felt like I was
- 2:10in the right space. And I want to say without a
- 2:14shadow of a doubt that after hearing some of what was going
- 2:18on in her world and after seeing how she handled the purchase,
- 2:23letting me take the van to our mechanic to look at, letting me
- 2:28put down less of a deposit until we figured out if we were
- 2:32getting it or we were not getting it.
- 2:33She even let me write a personal check this.
- 2:37She had this feeling that I was OK too.
- 2:40And sometimes you put these barriers up in your world
- 2:44because you're afraid of things. And I spent a lot of time in my
- 2:48life with my mother, who lived in a in a state of fear a lot.
- 2:53And those barriers would come up and then she would teach me.
- 2:57As Pink Floyd said, Mom is going to put all her fears into you.
- 3:00To be very conscientious, and throughout my years of self
- 3:03development, I had to be very conscientious and recognize that
- 3:09those fears, while some of them are very, very important to
- 3:13have, some of them are not very important to have and some of
- 3:16them are ridiculous. And I had to learn to let go of
- 3:20some of those. So all that being said, I let go
- 3:24of some of that throughout my years of self development and I
- 3:29let go of more and more and more.
- 3:31Now, that doesn't mean that I don't have it because I can
- 3:33always pick that wand up, get that emotion from the back of
- 3:37the bus and still run with it. But I manage it differently now.
- 3:42And this was one of those cases where I just didn't.
- 3:47I didn't worry, I didn't care. I just knew in my gut, in my
- 3:51heart, it was a message. And again, this is about
- 3:55recognizing that sometimes the walls you put up to protect
- 3:58yourself also keep good things out.
- 4:02So went through with it. My son is thrilled.
- 4:06He's got this van where he can build out all his tools.
- 4:10And you know, because essentially while he is not
- 4:13going to traditional college for the next 4 years, he is in
- 4:18college for becoming a plumber and he is going to dive in and
- 4:22his goal is to be a master plumber.
- 4:24And you know, as quickly as he possibly can attain all that
- 4:28knowledge, he's got his plans. He's not deviating from his
- 4:32plans. And I am absolutely just
- 4:35thrilled with him and for him. So my point of all of this is
- 4:41what's so incredible about it is that somebody random shows up in
- 4:45your world and they make you feel like they're trustworthy.
- 4:49You feel better about yourself, they feel better about
- 4:52themselves, and somehow the ripple effect in the world has
- 4:56taken place. So don't give up on those.
- 4:59Look for them. Allow yourself to have them
- 5:01touch somebody's heart, allow someone to touch yours.
- 5:06Because in the final analysis, my friends, that's the reason
- 5:10we're here. That is the very reason we're
- 5:12here. So I hope you guys have a
- 5:15blessed day. Go make a ripple and I will see
- 5:18you tomorrow. Bye.
