- 1:23Speaker 2: It is Friday? Indeed? Yeah, Friday Friday are short weeks
- 1:28Speaker 2: weird for you guys. They're longer, weird in a great way. Yeah,
- 1:31Speaker 2: what do you mean longer?
- 1:33Speaker 3: They feel longer by the end of the week, do
- 1:35Speaker 3: it really? Yeah?
- 1:35Speaker 2: It was wild because we had a thing on Wednesday,
- 1:38Speaker 2: a family thing on Wednesday, and like Tuesday evening, I
- 1:42Speaker 2: was like, oh, well, we got a full day to
- 1:43Speaker 2: plan for that thing, and I was like, oh no,
- 1:44Speaker 2: that's tomorrow, so I get lost in it. I would
- 1:48Speaker 2: you rather have your short week be a Monday off
- 1:50Speaker 2: or a Friday off? Friday Friday Friday? Yeah? Greed, we'd
- 1:54Speaker 2: on hundred percent. Yeah. Yeah, it's weird because although it
- 1:56Speaker 2: extends your weekend, the Monday extension of your weekend does
- 2:00Speaker 2: not have the same vibe now as the Friday off
- 2:04Speaker 2: extension of your weekend.
- 2:05Speaker 4: It's just a nicer feeling on Sunday. Yeah, but it's
- 2:08Speaker 4: not the party feeling that you get when Friday.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Because Friday off says you've got an extra party day.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Monday's like, well, you've got those errands you could get to.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Yeah, this Sunday cold day for laundry. Sunday culturally for
- 2:23Speaker 4: us outside of football season, isn't really a party day.
- 2:26Speaker 3: No, Sunday is launch like Jack just said, Sunday for
- 2:29Speaker 3: me is laundry. It's getting everything done that I'm not
- 2:31Speaker 3: going to get done.
- 2:32Speaker 2: During the morning. It's God's Day.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Because how many people do you guys ever tell yourself,
- 2:37Speaker 3: I'll just do a load, you know, on a Wednesday night,
- 2:40Speaker 3: No problem.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Never doing that. And that said load, you know what
- 2:43Speaker 2: that load does, sits in the dryer until Saturday, and
- 2:46Speaker 2: then you have to wind up running the dryer with
- 2:48Speaker 2: a damp towel so you can get the wrinkles back
- 2:50Speaker 2: out of your clothes. Again.
- 2:51Speaker 3: You've been in my house, in your house.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Because everybody does the same thing. Everybody does the same thing. Man,
- 2:57Speaker 2: everybody puts that load and closing the dryer on Tuesday, like,
- 2:59Speaker 2: oh my fold these up and I'll be proactive this week.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And Friday you're still pulling it out one by one,
- 3:05Speaker 2: or you've run that lot of load of clothes fifteen
- 3:07Speaker 2: times to get the wrinkles out of it because you're
- 3:09Speaker 2: too lazy to get out there and pull them up.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Or what's worse, you pull it out after all those
- 3:14Speaker 3: dryer tries and you're like, dang, yeah, still wrinkling. I've
- 3:16Speaker 3: got to wash it again.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah exactly.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I feel like Sunday is the only day that if
- 3:21Speaker 5: I were like in a coma, I could wake up
- 3:24Speaker 5: and tell that it's a Sunday. I feel like Sundays
- 3:27Speaker 5: have aroma an act.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeh, yeah, they do.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Day out of the seven days, is the one day
- 3:33Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, I can tell when it's a Sunday.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I used to have a smell associated with that because
- 3:37Speaker 2: in my house, Sundays were the days that my mom
- 3:39Speaker 2: used to cook big breakfast for the family. So I
- 3:42Speaker 2: would wake up on Sunday mornings to the Aromas coffee
- 3:45Speaker 2: and bacon and potatoes cooking. That was like the wake
- 3:49Speaker 2: up smell for Sundays. That's a nice way to get
- 3:52Speaker 2: out of bed.
- 3:52Speaker 3: It is a great way to get out of bed.
- 3:54Speaker 5: So good man, I feel like Sundays just like they
- 3:57Speaker 5: they're so wholesome and they're right smashed in between the
- 4:00Speaker 5: blob Yeah, Dane Day that is Monday and then the
- 4:04Speaker 5: hangover Indu scene day that is Saturday.
- 4:07Speaker 3: And you mentioned it is God's Day, do you guys
- 4:09Speaker 3: ever say? Well, and it is supposed to be a
- 4:11Speaker 3: day of rest, right.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's why. That's when I get all biblical.
- 4:15Speaker 2: That's about what it comes to an end too, Yes
- 4:17Speaker 2: to day not motivating you to go to church the couch.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Hey, I gotta understand Instagram. I'll look for some religious reels.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Seven to seven jeritory when I have a question to ask.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I did something last night. I want to find out
- 4:30Speaker 2: what you guys think.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Are you sure you want to tell you?
- 4:32Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 4:32Speaker 5: Yeah, sorry, let me recover religious reels. Got religious A
- 4:35Speaker 5: good one.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I got a lot of them.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So last night sitting around kind of going over the
- 4:42Speaker 2: schedule for things we need to have done, and we
- 4:43Speaker 2: have a friend that's coming over to help us with
- 4:46Speaker 2: something this weekend, right, and I'm sitting on the couch.
- 4:51Speaker 2: We've been talking for a few minutes. I just shoot
- 4:53Speaker 2: this guy text. I'm like, hey, man, you know what
- 4:55Speaker 2: time do you think you'll be over on Saturday? Sent?
- 4:58Speaker 2: And I didn't realize he's something, all right, sent it
- 5:02Speaker 2: to the wrong person. I was gonna say, not to
- 5:04Speaker 2: the wrong person. You held down on send. What does
- 5:07Speaker 2: that do? Oh?
- 5:08Speaker 7: Boy?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Invisible ink impact nothing? No, really, I didn't know that.
- 5:13Speaker 2: If you if you hold it down on send it,
- 5:16Speaker 2: if it's invisible, that means nothing. That scent.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I don't even know what he's talking about it and
- 5:22Speaker 3: I'm very gullible.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Last you go ahead and just hold down.
- 5:27Speaker 5: The next day send me a text, and then you
- 5:29Speaker 5: go ahead and hold down on sin. Okay, and this
- 5:32Speaker 5: is about to blow your mind. Okay, yeah, because you
- 5:35Speaker 5: could have a lot of more and animation and in
- 5:38Speaker 5: an I mess.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Do you know my password to get in my phone?
- 5:40Speaker 2: But Ross Paget? Is it Paget? It's paget. Okay. I
- 5:47Speaker 2: feel like you've gotten it down by okay, So when
- 5:49Speaker 2: I sin, just hold it down. Yeah, Oh my god,
- 5:55Speaker 2: what it means.
- 5:56Speaker 3: What is so like, Okay, let's try slam.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah, so okay, so hold on, hold on, I send
- 6:07Speaker 2: it an invisible inco it's just kind of sparkling, like
- 6:09Speaker 2: a vampire that's in the sunlight.
- 6:11Speaker 5: So then as the person who texted, or you know,
- 6:13Speaker 5: the receiver, I can rub my finger and then see
- 6:16Speaker 5: the text that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I got you guys, man.
- 6:21Speaker 3: That's cool as you And then and if you do
- 6:25Speaker 3: it to screen, then you get the whole thing.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's cool. I'm not sure.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I'm still not sure what I did. I wrote a word,
- 6:36Speaker 4: she wrote slam on the al right, I'll send punch
- 6:38Speaker 4: you just love that. And then I saw the word slam.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, that's what she meant. And I don't
- 6:42Speaker 4: know what happened. You just you just launched our missiles
- 6:45Speaker 4: from Iceland, damnit. But I am invested. What did you
- 6:49Speaker 4: do on this text?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Man? Did you slip?
- 6:52Speaker 7: No?
- 6:53Speaker 2: No, nothing like that. What is the latest you can
- 6:57Speaker 2: text somebody? Oh no, that's not a friend or a
- 7:02Speaker 2: family member.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I would say eight at the very latest, eight.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Nine if they were friends. So the eight man, what
- 7:10Speaker 2: time was it?
- 7:12Speaker 3: Oh my god? Was it ten thirty? Quarter to eleven?
- 7:15Speaker 2: This morning. It wasn't terrible. But when I send it,
- 7:18Speaker 2: because we get home so late and by the time
- 7:20Speaker 2: we get done with our normal stuff like you know,
- 7:22Speaker 2: dinner and everything like that, here's the excuse before we
- 7:26Speaker 2: get the truth. Not an excuse him. He's telling you
- 7:28Speaker 2: the truth. And as we started kind of talking about
- 7:30Speaker 2: the things like what my wife and I have to
- 7:32Speaker 2: have this meeting every night or twice a week. So
- 7:35Speaker 2: like I sent him a text it like nine fifty five.
- 7:38Speaker 2: That is you're flirting? Flirted?
- 7:41Speaker 3: Why didn't you just send an eggplant?
- 7:42Speaker 2: Did it say you up? Yeah?
- 7:45Speaker 5: Did you hit it with how do you know that
- 7:46Speaker 5: booty call language? Did you send it with the slam effect?
- 7:53Speaker 5: All I know is Danny's rubbing on it right now.
- 7:58Speaker 3: No title three eight? Danny on it now.
- 8:00Speaker 2: When was the last time you texted Danny? Oh, my god,
- 8:03Speaker 2: it's been a year. It's been more than a year.
- 8:08Speaker 3: So you texted him at ninety five at night to
- 8:11Speaker 3: ask him to come over and do a favor for
- 8:13Speaker 3: free on a Saturday.
- 8:14Speaker 2: No, it's not a favor. We have some trim car
- 8:16Speaker 2: This guy's a professional trim carpenter. Oh, that's what he does.
- 8:19Speaker 2: So we have him coming over to do a couple
- 8:21Speaker 2: of things in this room we want done that I
- 8:22Speaker 2: cannot do. I'm completely cool with not being able to
- 8:25Speaker 2: do it. We know this guy's on point, we know
- 8:27Speaker 2: he does a good job.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Trying to butter him.
- 8:30Speaker 2: He's not even listening to he knows him from years ago.
- 8:33Speaker 2: And I was like, well, how about Danny, and she's like, yes,
- 8:35Speaker 2: TXT Danny, And so I got to know where. I
- 8:37Speaker 2: just grabbed my phone because I'm I'm happy with myself
- 8:39Speaker 2: because I remember Danny. I'm like, what's up, Danny. It's
- 8:42Speaker 2: Jim blah blah blah. And then he text me this
- 8:45Speaker 2: more instance, sorry I didn't get your call. I'm usually
- 8:47Speaker 2: not up that late. He goes about it like nine
- 8:49Speaker 2: because he works out this this god awful heat all
- 8:52Speaker 2: day long.
- 8:54Speaker 5: I think the most important detail and I don't want
- 8:56Speaker 5: to gloss over it was he's not even listening. I
- 9:02Speaker 5: don't know storytelling on that part.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I don't even know if he's not I'm gonna be honest,
- 9:07Speaker 2: I do not know if he's not listening. Yeah, but
- 9:08Speaker 2: you always won't. Well you can't have right no, you
- 9:11Speaker 2: know anyway, So so we don't need to get into
- 9:14Speaker 2: the other stuff.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Eight o'clock you're saying eight o'clock. No, actually nine o'clock
- 9:20Speaker 3: for friends and family. No, if you know he works
- 9:22Speaker 3: outside and he goes to bed. Uh, he works outside.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I didn't know that he could have he could have
- 9:26Speaker 2: become an accountant.
- 9:28Speaker 3: He will No, because exactly I was gonna say, you
- 9:31Speaker 3: wouldn't have called him for that. It should be six pm.
- 9:35Speaker 5: No, get out of here, six o'clock. He wants his danny.
- 9:40Speaker 5: Don't get in his way.
- 9:41Speaker 2: What's it for family? What's the latest? I can text you? Guys? Oh?
- 9:46Speaker 2: Did anytime? Yeah? Okay? For him, it's like, no, it
- 9:49Speaker 2: doesn't matter man. For you guys, what if I text
- 9:51Speaker 2: you at like ten thirty, you're gonna be like, what
- 9:53Speaker 2: the F is this guy doing?
- 9:54Speaker 6: Oh?
- 9:54Speaker 3: No, if you're texting at ten thirty, I'm calling you
- 9:56Speaker 3: at ten thirty one. Because there's only two reasons why
- 9:59Speaker 3: you've ever texted called and neither of them are ever
- 10:01Speaker 3: ever good Now I know.
- 10:03Speaker 2: One of them is like, I'm not gonna be in
- 10:05Speaker 2: what's the other one, Jack? What's the latest? I can
- 10:08Speaker 2: text you ten thirty?
- 10:09Speaker 8: All right?
- 10:10Speaker 4: Cause you ten thirty between from ten thirty until eleven
- 10:15Speaker 4: and fifteen. I'm going in bed. Unless something really good
- 10:18Speaker 4: and red dead redemption is going on, then it's a
- 10:20Speaker 4: midnight you grow your beard yet, I know I'm growing
- 10:24Speaker 4: it out definitely.
- 10:25Speaker 2: So let me ask you a quick questions because you
- 10:27Speaker 2: guys just said something. Check is a man. So when
- 10:29Speaker 2: you guys, when you guys get text for me, you
- 10:32Speaker 2: automatically think it's bad.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yes, because you don't text very often, especially I mean,
- 10:37Speaker 3: I don't know, but you guys.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Also the verbiage.
- 10:41Speaker 4: If you don't actually add something to make it seem
- 10:45Speaker 4: like lighthearted, a fun, I assume you're angry.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Oh yeah, without a doubt. Oh yeah, let's go. Let's mind,
- 10:52Speaker 3: let's look at your last text. It's not even ross.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Where are you in this? Can you?
- 10:56Speaker 5: I mean, I'm a little bit in both worlds because
- 10:59Speaker 5: I do agree with Jack's assessment that you have resting
- 11:02Speaker 5: bitch texting face.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Ah, there is something with the timing. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 11:11Speaker 2: the show. By the way, resting bitch texting face.
- 11:15Speaker 5: But I do not usually nine times out of ten,
- 11:19Speaker 5: I do not take your text like that.
- 11:20Speaker 2: But I do. I got that's the good news. Okay.
- 11:23Speaker 5: The bad news is that I usually laugh at your
- 11:25Speaker 5: text in a different way. Why because a lot of times,
- 11:28Speaker 5: like you somehow you hit like space bar a couple
- 11:30Speaker 5: of times. So the bubbles way bigger than just the
- 11:33Speaker 5: word yes actually needs so every now and then there's
- 11:37Speaker 5: just like these big splotches of text.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Here's an example of a text I got from you
- 11:42Speaker 4: that doesn't have anything other than just what you want
- 11:45Speaker 4: to say, so it comes.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Across as aggressive.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Okay, okay, I got a text for me that says okay,
- 11:54Speaker 4: but in gym language, that's.
- 11:56Speaker 2: That's it, two letters and you found that to be angry.
- 12:00Speaker 2: That's the vibe from you. Me agreeing with you is angry.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Now here's the question, Jack, how many words was the
- 12:07Speaker 2: immediate previous text that you know caused that okay response?
- 12:18Speaker 2: There's no reason to get into that. Wow, we're not
- 12:25Speaker 2: doing that. I got the money. It's like Glenn's back
- 12:27Speaker 2: on the air. Okay, call back. Okay, So I said,
- 12:33Speaker 2: if I if I went the ratio of Ross words
- 12:37Speaker 2: to my responses are crazy. Ross literally texted me something
- 12:42Speaker 2: the other day and it was one, two, three, four,
- 12:44Speaker 2: five bubbles long, and my response was O S yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 2: And then my next response was hey, dude, I gonna
- 12:51Speaker 2: have a pizza for you when you get home here. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:54Speaker 2: all right, four seven nine one. Thank you guys. I
- 12:57Speaker 2: appreciate that. But he did some guidance there, because I
- 12:59Speaker 2: didn't realize until this morning. I was like, maybe I
- 13:01Speaker 2: said that a little late. And then the first thing
- 13:03Speaker 2: he says back and he's like, hey, dude is already
- 13:05Speaker 2: in bed. So answered, thank you. Sorry Danny. If he
- 13:10Speaker 2: took it as a flirtatious move, he's not wrong. He
- 13:12Speaker 2: didn't take it as a flirtatious move. Sure, it was
- 13:19Speaker 2: the picture of my ass. That was the flirting cart.
- 13:25Speaker 3: You had some news, then you can forget the eggplant. Yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 3: Florida is going to benefit from a cash app settlement. Meanwhile,
- 13:32Speaker 3: the FBI probes a Miami money trail linked to Messi's
- 13:36Speaker 3: Argentina squad and a well intentioned donation took an unexpected turn.
- 13:41Speaker 3: We'll talk about that and more coming next during JCS News.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You got it all right four O seven nine one text
- 13:47Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one Back in a second with
- 13:49Speaker 2: Dev's news and more of the Jim Colbert Shows day
- 13:51Speaker 2: right There. Previously on The Jim Colbert Show thirty eight
- 14:04Speaker 2: hundred dollars.
- 14:06Speaker 9: Well, jim I, I hope you get your snore turn
- 14:08Speaker 9: three thousand for less than that.
- 14:10Speaker 7: Good luck with that one.
- 14:13Speaker 8: I did.
- 14:13Speaker 10: Just want to get this straight, Jimmy. He texted a
- 14:16Speaker 10: strange man who you haven't texted in over a year,
- 14:18Speaker 10: at whatever time in the night, asking for quote, a
- 14:22Speaker 10: little trim unquote unacceptable.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Sir, well done, sir, well done.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Oh he's not wrong.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Four seven uh nine one six four one. You can

- 15:16Speaker 2: It's in my contracted the news on the Jim Color Show.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I don't know why it should not make me laugh anymore.
- 15:25Speaker 3: JCS News is brought to you by that mortgage guy.

- 15:29Speaker 3: of the Home Loans radio show. All Right, we kick
- 15:32Speaker 3: things off with a farewell to a pioneer, the oldest
- 15:36Speaker 3: woman to travel to space, Wally Funk Love her name,
- 15:40Speaker 3: has passed away at the age of eighty seven. Funk
- 15:43Speaker 3: entered space on a Blue Origin flight in twenty twenty
- 15:46Speaker 3: one at the age of eighty two.
- 15:48Speaker 2: We had a great time.
- 15:49Speaker 3: It was it was wonderful.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I want to go again fast.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Her city of residents, grape Vine, Texas, announced that she
- 15:55Speaker 3: died peacefully Wednesday evenings, surrounded by loved ones.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Really cool.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Yeah, she has a long history. I thought, well, I
- 16:02Speaker 3: only have so much time in the newscast, so let
- 16:04Speaker 3: me just go ahead, and yeah, that's very cool, her props.
- 16:07Speaker 2: It shouldn't be weird.
- 16:08Speaker 4: But the fact that that was twenty twenty five years
- 16:11Speaker 4: Blue Origin has been taking people to space.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah that's crazy. Yeah, but then it's already July tenth.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Florida is going to receive part of a forty five
- 16:20Speaker 3: million dollar multi state settlement with Block Incorporated over allegations
- 16:25Speaker 3: it failed to protect cash app users from fraud. So
- 16:28Speaker 3: attorneys general say the company misled consumers by suggesting cash
- 16:32Speaker 3: app offered bank like protections. Right, Oh, don't worry, it's
- 16:36Speaker 3: FDIC insure Sure. The state share will help fund future
- 16:39Speaker 3: consumer protection efforts. Block will also pay up two one
- 16:42Speaker 3: hundred and twenty million dollars to affected users nationwide.
- 16:46Speaker 2: All right.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Temporary protected status officially ends today for citizens of several nations,
- 16:51Speaker 3: including Venezuela Haiti. Florida has the largest Haitian population in
- 16:56Speaker 3: the US, and many work in the service industry and healthcare.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Immigration attorney Tammy fox Eskoff says if they did not
- 17:03Speaker 3: apply for asylum within a year of arriving here, they're
- 17:07Speaker 3: going to lose their work permit.
- 17:09Speaker 7: It's a disaster.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Today is their last day of work permission under GPS.
- 17:13Speaker 11: We have a lot of Haitians in South Florida.
- 17:15Speaker 3: They work predominantly in service industries and in the healthcare field.
- 17:19Speaker 3: And I know a lot of hotel and motel operators
- 17:22Speaker 3: have been reacting quite like, oh no, what are we
- 17:25Speaker 3: going to You know, that's a lot of their housekeeping
- 17:27Speaker 3: staff and such. So she says companies and corporations to
- 17:30Speaker 3: employ Haitians without a work permit will potentially face sanctions, fines,
- 17:35Speaker 3: maybe even criminal penalties. She also predicts that no immigrants
- 17:38Speaker 3: are going to want to return to Haiti or Venezuela
- 17:40Speaker 3: because they're both in complete chaos and anarchy right now,
- 17:44Speaker 3: all right, speaking of chaos and anarchy, this is an
- 17:47Speaker 3: interesting story.
- 17:48Speaker 2: What chaos and anarchy?
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, and federal agents are turning up the heat on
- 17:55Speaker 3: the soccer world in Miami really. According to a Miami
- 17:59Speaker 3: Herald report, the FBI has opened a preliminary financial fraud
- 18:04Speaker 3: investigation into the Argentine Football Association that is, of course,
- 18:09Speaker 3: the governing body behind international superstar Lionel Messi. Investigators are
- 18:14Speaker 3: tracking down about I don't know, three hundred million dollars wow,
- 18:18Speaker 3: And international soccer revenues that were quietly funneled through a
- 18:21Speaker 3: network of shell accounts based in Aventura. Now Messi himself
- 18:26Speaker 3: is completely in the clear. He has nothing to do
- 18:28Speaker 3: with this. But local marketing executives are already being questioned
- 18:31Speaker 3: by federal executives.
- 18:33Speaker 2: So they're basically skimming. Is that what they were doing.
- 18:35Speaker 3: They're saying that all of these like endorsement contracts, and
- 18:38Speaker 3: you know, so interesting. Apparently a lot of people have
- 18:42Speaker 3: a lot of questions to answer about so well exactly
- 18:46Speaker 3: and was it? Was it funneled and used as what
- 18:50Speaker 3: it was? Ozark money money laundering? Thank you?
- 18:54Speaker 4: Lionel Messi has a Lego. There's a Lego Lino Messi
- 18:58Speaker 4: Lego ship.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Well I saw that today and I'm like, how much
- 19:03Speaker 4: is this guy worth?
- 19:04Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 19:04Speaker 2: Oh, it's a whole bunch. One point two billion, so good.
- 19:09Speaker 2: One point one billion? Yeah wow?
- 19:12Speaker 3: You know the cost for the Lego set.
- 19:15Speaker 2: That's about the going rate for a goat these days, right,
- 19:18Speaker 2: like one point one point five million dollars.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Well, in the meantime, World Cup action is hitting a
- 19:24Speaker 3: fevered pitch. You see what I did in South Florida.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Although five World Cup matches are in the books. Miami
- 19:31Speaker 3: Host Committee CEO Alena Hoodac stresses there are two more
- 19:35Speaker 3: at Miami Stadium.
- 19:36Speaker 2: We have two more weeks to go, so let's keep watching.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Soccer ahead of tomorrow's quarter final quarter final at Miami
- 19:43Speaker 3: Stadium between England and Norway.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Oh God, give it to me. Yeah, yeah, Miami, Miami
- 19:49Speaker 2: Beach afternoon.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Miami Beach is welcoming Norwegian fans to take part
- 19:53Speaker 3: in the viral rowing craze that's going to take part
- 19:56Speaker 3: at Ocean Drive in Fifth Street at two pm and
- 19:59Speaker 3: again at seven pm. Watch your Instagram feed for yeah,
- 20:03Speaker 3: what it looks like.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Kat a little talker about the about the World Cup
- 20:07Speaker 2: teams and their loves of America. A little bit later,
- 20:10Speaker 2: that's crazy, just a little blurb. I found it interesting.
- 20:12Speaker 5: I saw this one Norway fan pissed going we never wrote,
- 20:15Speaker 5: we didn't row, We sailed, We sailed across.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 20:20Speaker 3: The Magic Open NBA Summer League with a rough outing.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Don't be shocked falling to the Hornets eighty six to
- 20:27Speaker 3: seventy four in Las Vegas, Orlando, drops to oh and
- 20:30Speaker 3: one and gets right back at it Tomorrow afternoon against
- 20:32Speaker 3: the Heat Miami tips off. It's summer league schedule later
- 20:35Speaker 3: today against the Bucks. And one last side note, I
- 20:39Speaker 3: can't believe we're already getting close to the All Star break.
- 20:42Speaker 2: For for baseball or baseball.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I can't believe we're hauling as man, I know already
- 20:47Speaker 3: half the season.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Don't tell Doc Brown to sit down, Joe.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Two men and Titus Bell are accused of kidnapping a
- 20:53Speaker 3: woman and holding her captive for ten days.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Story is bananas by the way.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Authority Saint Dane Mitchell and Adam Copeland tied the woman
- 21:02Speaker 3: up with zip ties, beat her, and threatened her with
- 21:04Speaker 3: a gun. She somehow managed to escape and get help
- 21:07Speaker 3: from a neighbor. The men are facing kidnapping charges. You think, yeah,
- 21:12Speaker 3: I think was she a prostitute?
- 21:13Speaker 2: Does it say anything about that?
- 21:14Speaker 3: And already out without bonding the Brevard County jail? That
- 21:17Speaker 3: part I do not have in this story. The reason
- 21:19Speaker 3: the reason I asked is because I saw the first
- 21:21Speaker 3: story about it. I didn't know if there were any
- 21:22Speaker 3: any after reporting that kind of continued the stories. Yeah, yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 3: they talked about them going out on a date together,
- 21:28Speaker 3: all three of them. Oh, and then it wound up
- 21:31Speaker 3: where they just said the date's not over yet.
- 21:33Speaker 2: It's going to be over in like two weeks. And
- 21:35Speaker 2: they kept her like a laundry room, zip tied, and
- 21:38Speaker 2: she escaped through a window and went to the next
- 21:39Speaker 2: door neighbor or something like that.
- 21:41Speaker 3: That is good.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, these guys are looking for some big time exactly.
- 21:44Speaker 3: And then when you lock them away, melt down the key. Yeahah.
- 21:49Speaker 3: A church in Putnam County, Oh Boy, is getting national recognition.
- 21:54Speaker 3: The city of Palaca announced Wednesday that Saint Mary's Episcopal
- 21:58Speaker 3: Church on Saint John's app was listed last week on
- 22:01Speaker 3: the National Register of Historic Places. The nineteenth century church
- 22:05Speaker 3: is being recognized as one of Florida's oldest African American
- 22:08Speaker 3: wooden churches that's still serving its congregation.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe it's right there on Yeah, if I remember.
- 22:16Speaker 2: It also has some unbelievably beautiful stained glass in that church.
- 22:19Speaker 2: If it's the same one. There are so many old
- 22:22Speaker 2: ass buildings in p towns.
- 22:23Speaker 7: Well.
- 22:23Speaker 3: The city says the designation marks a key milestone in
- 22:27Speaker 3: preserving Palatka's cultural and architectural heritage.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, there's a lot of it there. I'm telling you, man, I.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Was going to snicker, but I didn't you know.
- 22:36Speaker 2: You can snicker all you want. I'm just saying. I mean,
- 22:37Speaker 2: at one point, Placa was a big deal right up
- 22:39Speaker 2: ntil the railroads happened. Then I guess what it was
- 22:42Speaker 2: not a big deal.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Kind of like what happened with Route sixty six when
- 22:45Speaker 3: the Interstates came in.
- 22:46Speaker 2: All these interstates along the river, all those cities, Sanford,
- 22:52Speaker 2: I mean, Placa, Jacksonville, they were all supposed to be
- 22:55Speaker 2: the hubs of the state until the railroad was built,
- 22:57Speaker 2: and then it changed everything.
- 22:58Speaker 3: And it's so interesting when you see smaller communities that
- 23:01Speaker 3: used to thrive with those beautiful old Victorian homes.
- 23:04Speaker 2: That's what black it was made of. That dude, I'm
- 23:06Speaker 2: telling you, I could take you to the river front
- 23:07Speaker 2: there and show you fifty of them.
- 23:08Speaker 3: But once once one little element changes, yeah, it just
- 23:12Speaker 3: becomes like a ghost town. That's exactly what app It
- 23:14Speaker 3: is incredible to see. All Right, It is time again
- 23:17Speaker 3: for trappers to round up as many pythons as possible
- 23:21Speaker 3: in the Florida Everglades as the ten Day Florida Python
- 23:24Speaker 3: Challenge is officially underway.
- 23:27Speaker 9: This snake can grow to be twenty feet long and
- 23:30Speaker 9: two hundred pounds, totally destroying the food train.
- 23:39Speaker 2: De throwing the food train.
- 23:43Speaker 3: That's why I included it. You appreciate that a fascination
- 23:48Speaker 3: that because you sound like one so good you do
- 23:51Speaker 3: such a good impression.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Not my exact definition of trap star, but you gotta
- 23:57Speaker 5: call them when you see them.
- 23:59Speaker 3: South Florida why Management's alligator as Ron bergerhun says, the
- 24:03Speaker 3: goal is to save the everglades. Last year, how many
- 24:06Speaker 3: snakes were removed eight hundred, two hundred, five thousand points, Jack,
- 24:15Speaker 3: I believe three hundred three hundred snakes. They're so elusive
- 24:19Speaker 3: and difficult to find. That's why you hear about them
- 24:21Speaker 3: using either them using dogs, didn't you say? At one
- 24:24Speaker 3: point they were using like a mechanical rabbit rabbits robo.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Rabbits, guinea pigs with trackers on them, so that when
- 24:30Speaker 2: they ate the guinea pig I believe that's what it's called,
- 24:33Speaker 2: or the nutrient or whatever, they would eat that and
- 24:35Speaker 2: then the tracker would have they would swallow the tracker.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Then they could go right to where the snake was.
- 24:39Speaker 2: They found that to be the most effective way because
- 24:41Speaker 2: the snake will also kind of lead back to nests.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I guess.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Yeah, there also was I guess a big female or something.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 24:48Speaker 2: They have five thousand. I'm an idiot. Yes, okay, you're not.
- 24:51Speaker 3: No, you're not.
- 24:52Speaker 2: We'll sell them short. Hey buddy, listen, you're not not
- 24:55Speaker 2: for that. Guess o. Wait.
- 24:58Speaker 3: This year's grand prize for a track the most and
- 25:01Speaker 3: longest invasive snakes is ten grand. If you remember last
- 25:04Speaker 3: year's winner is about as big as a toothpick. Oh yeah,
- 25:08Speaker 3: she's a little thing, and I think she removed sixteen
- 25:10Speaker 3: of those snakes on her own.
- 25:12Speaker 2: You're like five seven and holding the snakes, and it
- 25:14Speaker 2: looked like, you know that perspective thing, like you hold
- 25:16Speaker 2: it real close to the camera and then you're behind it.
- 25:18Speaker 2: It looked like the snake's head is real big. It
- 25:21Speaker 2: was like that close to her. I only the snake's
- 25:22Speaker 2: head was bigger than her. Exactly.
- 25:24Speaker 3: She's just the title little thing, all right. And then
- 25:27Speaker 3: we go next to a Florida moment. The Florida Fish
- 25:31Speaker 3: and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating a viral TikTok video
- 25:36Speaker 3: that shows a woman petting an alligator from a kayak.
- 25:40Speaker 3: The video taken at Silver Spring State Park, gained over
- 25:43Speaker 3: this many views before it was taken down.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Five million, twelve two million. The reason why I say
- 25:50Speaker 2: five million is my wife saw this video two weeks
- 25:52Speaker 2: ago on TikTok. Really yeah, yeah, the story's just breaking,
- 25:54Speaker 2: but she saw this. She said this thing to me
- 25:56Speaker 2: two weeks ago.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Wow, that's crazy. And yet points jack. It actually received
- 26:01Speaker 3: two point one million views before it was taken down.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Jacks on Fire.
- 26:07Speaker 3: It was posted a series of alligator attacks in Florida,
- 26:11Speaker 3: including the Orlando hiker who lost both of her arms
- 26:14Speaker 3: in an alligator attack. So it prompted lots of complaints
- 26:18Speaker 3: to the FWC, and the FWC is urging folks to quote,
- 26:22Speaker 3: please don't pet the alligator.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, when she sent me the video, I think my
- 26:26Speaker 2: response to that video was well, that's five k, right, yeah,
- 26:29Speaker 2: like that's five grand. That's an easy way to spend
- 26:31Speaker 2: five g's.
- 26:32Speaker 3: That's no playing around with that.
- 26:33Speaker 2: I mean evidence of you doing that. I don't think
- 26:35Speaker 2: they an with.
- 26:37Speaker 3: That, No, they do not, all right. A well intentioned
- 26:40Speaker 3: donation to a Brooksville museum took an unexpected turn this
- 26:44Speaker 3: morning when one of the items was found to contain
- 26:48Speaker 3: a dangerous substance Hernando County Sheriff al Neenheis says a
- 26:53Speaker 3: woman came to the May Stringer House last night to
- 26:56Speaker 3: donate some items that were part of her late father's
- 26:58Speaker 3: medical collection. He'd been a doctor, died about four years ago.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Had a lot of these kind of like what your granddad.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Used to do, right, instruments and stuff.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Instruments and stuff. Well, among them was a glass bottle
- 27:09Speaker 3: from the early nineteen hundreds marked picrick acid.
- 27:14Speaker 12: This particular bottle had crystallized, and when picnic acid crystallizes,
- 27:20Speaker 12: it apparently becomes an explosive, and it's actually used in
- 27:24Speaker 12: explosives for war and so forth.
- 27:26Speaker 3: So everyone's kind of glad they didn't take that bottle
- 27:29Speaker 3: and go, what's this? Yeah, yeah, shake it up and
- 27:30Speaker 3: just shake it up. It's pick rick pickrick, p ic
- 27:34Speaker 3: r icick rick acid.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Never heard of that. I thought you were gonna say mercury. Yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 2: My grandfather used to have a bottle of mercury that
- 27:41Speaker 2: we would play with. Oh geez, I mean we didn't
- 27:43Speaker 2: take it out of the bottle, but we would just
- 27:45Speaker 2: kind of marvel at it. He would put it in
- 27:46Speaker 2: a pan, you kind of you know, and it would
- 27:48Speaker 2: react to a magnet. I'm fine, everything's fine. Deal with
- 27:53Speaker 2: the earnest and it never fell out.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I once had a mercury thermometer break and I just
- 27:59Speaker 3: cleaned it up with paper retelling.
- 28:00Speaker 2: It was like you're fighting again.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Nothing, nothing to see evidence everything from the seventies. You
- 28:04Speaker 3: put dirt in it. Ninhai says there was no criminal
- 28:07Speaker 3: activity involved because the woman didn't even know what she had.
- 28:10Speaker 3: She didn't know. She didn't mean to hurt anyone or
- 28:12Speaker 3: do anything bad. The Citrus County Bomb Squad was called
- 28:15Speaker 3: into dispose of the bottle safely. And that concludes your
- 28:19Speaker 3: JCS news Thick Greg.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Seven seven zero three one. That's how you text us
- 28:27Speaker 2: back in the second with sinker sale and Embers only right,

- 29:21Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 29:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the holiday and then you had the you had
- 29:25Speaker 2: your live yeah. Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 4: But more concerning you're in Canada, right, new art, new
- 29:33Speaker 4: art on the wall?
- 29:34Speaker 2: What's that? Or you're in a different room, in a
- 29:37Speaker 2: different cell. Yeah. I think the seat is a bit lower,
- 29:41Speaker 2: so that's a different view. That is the feel of
- 29:44Speaker 2: a Canadian prison though, is it not. Yeah, there's a
- 29:48Speaker 2: nice art or yeah, very accommodating. That artwork actually is
- 29:51Speaker 2: from your.
- 29:53Speaker 13: Wife's uh you know, ancestors, ancestors homeland there it's from uh,
- 29:59Speaker 13: you know, know the what.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Do you call those people again? Already forgotten?
- 30:03Speaker 4: I don't know you already remember more than Jim Well,
- 30:07Speaker 4: the theis yeah, yeah.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Oh that's fine. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, got it.
- 30:12Speaker 3: There's jack that's mine.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought you were talking about Tory. Yeah, Jackson.
- 30:17Speaker 2: We're taking shot. Where is Tori from? Sorry, I mean
- 30:21Speaker 2: Jack's Jackson. Yeah, yeah, she's from the mountains of Sanford.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Uh way up high and that thirty two hundred foot range.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Ergot stand up there anyway, listen, I'm gonna ask a
- 30:34Speaker 2: quick question, what what are the are there celebrations in
- 30:38Speaker 2: Canada on the fourth of July. I know that seems
- 30:40Speaker 2: like an odd question, but there has to be some
- 30:43Speaker 2: type of reverence. What the hell kind of I mean,
- 30:49Speaker 2: we're right here, we celebate off, we celebrate Canada. Days here,
- 30:57Speaker 2: celebrated Canada. Then I walked by the maple syrup at
- 31:01Speaker 2: the grocery store, so I feel like I didn't do
- 31:04Speaker 2: some type of celebration. I'm just realizing I've done that question.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I'm laughing at myself a true American. It fails. We
- 31:10Speaker 2: are so great neighboring nations should celebrate.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Even if we tried to take you over. Just let
- 31:15Speaker 3: bygones be bygones.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I don't think he's done. I think he's still gonna
- 31:18Speaker 2: give it a shot. All right. By as By as Is,
- 31:23Speaker 2: the restaurant critic for The Orlando Weekly, causes us on Friday,
- 31:27Speaker 2: he is deeply decided. Yeah, if it wasn't for those
- 31:30Speaker 2: thick glasses, I feel bad about it. Yeah. So let's
- 31:37Speaker 2: talk about some stuff happened in Orlando. Nick and Luke
- 31:39Speaker 2: All Day Eatery Review number one. What is the deal?
- 31:43Speaker 8: Nick?
- 31:44Speaker 2: And look?
- 31:44Speaker 13: So people people in Longwood may remember Nick and Luke
- 31:47Speaker 13: Scratch Kitchen there on four thirty four. So it closed
- 31:50Speaker 13: a couple of a couple of years ago, and the owner,
- 31:52Speaker 13: who's also the chef, Leroy Bautista, wanted to focus on
- 31:55Speaker 13: his downtown venture called, appropriately enough, Nick and Luke All
- 31:59Speaker 13: Day Eatery, which by the way, closes at three pm
- 32:03Speaker 13: and has only open on weekdays. Nick and Luke got jokes,
- 32:09Speaker 13: NI can look, by the way, are the chef's sons,
- 32:12Speaker 13: Nick and Luke Chef Leroy Bautista again. So anyway, he's
- 32:16Speaker 13: opened up downtown. He's luring people into the PNC Bank
- 32:20Speaker 13: right off of Pine Street there. I believe it's two
- 32:23Speaker 13: to one East Pine Street. It's it's a bank building
- 32:25Speaker 13: is on the ground floor and he's luring them in
- 32:28Speaker 13: for his eclectic sort of farm the table breakfast and
- 32:32Speaker 13: lunch fair. And let me tell you there's two dishes
- 32:34Speaker 13: that he does that are utterly outstanding, maybe even the
- 32:38Speaker 13: best in the city. One of which and if you
- 32:40Speaker 13: go to my Instagram you'll see some photos that I
- 32:43Speaker 13: posted of.
- 32:44Speaker 2: The French toast.
- 32:45Speaker 13: It is a it is like literally the photo that's
- 32:49Speaker 13: on the on the weeklies page right now isn't as
- 32:52Speaker 13: thick as the one I had, So if you go
- 32:53Speaker 13: to my Instagram, you'll you'll see it there.
- 32:55Speaker 2: It is a thick ass slab of halla.
- 32:58Speaker 5: I'm telling you, that's the best French toast bread.
- 33:04Speaker 2: No ever is hollow that eggy kind of yes, yes, yes,
- 33:09Speaker 2: so it's and it's soaked in a vanilla being custard
- 33:11Speaker 2: that he's over soaks overnight and then he browns it
- 33:14Speaker 2: in butter and uh, then he bakes it.
- 33:17Speaker 13: And if you're if you're watching on YouTube right now,
- 33:20Speaker 13: Jack has a photo up. But if you Jack, if
- 33:22Speaker 13: you scroll scroll a couple you'll see like the version
- 33:26Speaker 13: and that's right there.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Look at the size of that.
- 33:28Speaker 13: Wow, look at that looks like it's absolutely incredible. So
- 33:33Speaker 13: that is amazing. And there's like another dish, these shrimp
- 33:36Speaker 13: and grits, and Bautista, you know, he's finding you sort
- 33:39Speaker 13: of made a name for himself in you Orleans. And
- 33:41Speaker 13: even though shrimp and grits is not a your typical
- 33:43Speaker 13: New Orleans dish, it's like a it's obviously a low
- 33:46Speaker 13: country dish, but it's very very popular in Orleans. The
- 33:48Speaker 13: version he does here, he gets these colossal buggers. You know,
- 33:51Speaker 13: he saw tas them in a lot and I mean
- 33:54Speaker 13: a lot of Cajun butter, and then he serves it
- 33:57Speaker 13: over these stone brown grits, these very creamy grits.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Unbelievable.
- 34:00Speaker 13: I never thought, I, you know, I'd come to this
- 34:02Speaker 13: sort of you know, downtown eatery that's only open till
- 34:05Speaker 13: three pm. And have you know the best shrimp and
- 34:07Speaker 13: grits I've had in a very very long time. So
- 34:11Speaker 13: that's one of my favorite dishes.
- 34:12Speaker 3: And I have been searching for good shrimp and grits
- 34:15Speaker 3: like everywhere I go. It's the dish I decide, am
- 34:18Speaker 3: I going to order this here again? And I haven't
- 34:19Speaker 3: found it?
- 34:20Speaker 2: And it's one of those dishes that, man, there are
- 34:22Speaker 2: so many takes on it. Yes, you do almost have
- 34:25Speaker 2: to find a place that makes it the way you
- 34:26Speaker 2: like it to enjoy it, because every take could be
- 34:29Speaker 2: different from if they were sitting beside each other. Restaurants
- 34:32Speaker 2: just have different looks at it. Shrimp and grits.
- 34:33Speaker 5: I love shrimping grits, but I would also vote it
- 34:36Speaker 5: as like the heaviest brunch you could possibly out it out.
- 34:39Speaker 3: You're going to be taking a nap.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I had one like two years ago.
- 34:44Speaker 2: It's still there. I like a one to one bait
- 34:47Speaker 2: butter and grit ratio.
- 34:49Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean, honestly, I'm getting sleepy just looking at
- 34:52Speaker 13: this pot. This This is my kind of shrimping grits.
- 34:55Speaker 13: I absolutely love it. You know, he does other dishes there.
- 34:57Speaker 13: He does like a prime rib dip. It's on old
- 35:01Speaker 13: heart bag get thee oh. It's the only thing I
- 35:03Speaker 13: had issue with that with the prime rib dip is
- 35:05Speaker 13: that that the bread is like straight out of the
- 35:08Speaker 13: fridge cold, and then when you dip it into the
- 35:10Speaker 13: zow you know, the the gravy that that warm day,
- 35:13Speaker 13: it kind of creates what I called in my review
- 35:15Speaker 13: a culinary dissonance. Not not the not the favorite mouthfields
- 35:19Speaker 13: when you have something cold hitting something warm and then
- 35:21Speaker 13: it's just it's yeah, And.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Which is wild because when you look at the other
- 35:25Speaker 2: dishes that all the breads are toasted quite well. Even
- 35:28Speaker 2: the bread that came with their shrimming grits had a nice,
- 35:30Speaker 2: nice toast on them. Mean, it doesn't make any sense
- 35:32Speaker 2: not to throw that under the salamander for a couple
- 35:33Speaker 2: of minutes or at least, you know, have it be
- 35:35Speaker 2: room temperature. Yeah, I just don't want it cold. I
- 35:37Speaker 2: don't want to have that sensation of cold on bread.
- 35:39Speaker 2: You know, why would you throw a lizard on top
- 35:43Speaker 2: of your sandwich?
- 35:43Speaker 4: Yeah, a salamander? Yeah, the uh it's an oven. It's
- 35:47Speaker 4: a type of.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Uh so.
- 35:52Speaker 4: But you think maybe it was just a one off
- 35:54Speaker 4: that they were they didn't have them prepped for that
- 35:56Speaker 4: day and they just took him out of the fridge
- 35:57Speaker 4: and they they normally are not cold or is that
- 36:00Speaker 4: no standing?
- 36:01Speaker 13: Just so it just so happened, Jack, that the chef
- 36:03Speaker 13: happened to come by to see how, you know, how
- 36:05Speaker 13: how the how the food was was, you know, how
- 36:07Speaker 13: the food was, and you know I did mention that,
- 36:09Speaker 13: you know, I thought the bread was cold. And it
- 36:11Speaker 13: created this again, this this sort of dissonance, and I
- 36:14Speaker 13: know he kind of shrugged it off. I think he
- 36:15Speaker 13: took it. Maybe uh, he took that advice and and
- 36:20Speaker 13: maybe now it isn't I'd like to go back and
- 36:22Speaker 13: try it again. But he didn't seem overly concerned about
- 36:26Speaker 13: the fact that the bread was cold. So is there
- 36:29Speaker 13: a possibility because this is really fresh bread. All this
- 36:31Speaker 13: bread comes from old hearth.
- 36:33Speaker 2: The shelf life for fresh bread isn't like bread you
- 36:36Speaker 2: buy from the grocery store or sometimes even from bakeries.
- 36:38Speaker 2: They're gonna have shelf life of up to a week
- 36:41Speaker 2: or whatever. These these breads don't usually have that. Is
- 36:43Speaker 2: there a possibility he keeps it cold because of because
- 36:46Speaker 2: of shelf life from those breads?
- 36:47Speaker 13: Buddy, Yeah, it's absolutely possible. It's absolutely possible that you
- 36:50Speaker 13: know that that was the case. I just would like
- 36:52Speaker 13: to think that maybe he would keep a few baguettes out,
- 36:55Speaker 13: you know, knowing that people will likely you know, order
- 36:58Speaker 13: this for lunch.
- 36:58Speaker 2: It's a very popular sandwich, you know.
- 37:00Speaker 13: So again that was my only like, it's a small
- 37:02Speaker 13: quibble by all means, it's a very small quibble.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Doesn't mean you shouldn't visit this place because there's other
- 37:07Speaker 2: dishes there that are great.
- 37:09Speaker 13: The rice bowls, you know, which we had a meatless
- 37:11Speaker 13: version of it, which was a great spicy chick beas
- 37:14Speaker 13: you know, there's kimchi in, there's like mint, mint and peanuts,
- 37:17Speaker 13: and it was very nice bracing, had that sort of
- 37:19Speaker 13: Asian kind of flare. Yeah, it's beautiful. Does he does
- 37:22Speaker 13: all his pastries in house. He does croissants and he
- 37:25Speaker 13: does you know, cruffins and cookies. The croissant was beautiful, beautiful,
- 37:30Speaker 13: beautiful looking croissant. I just felt that the layers inside
- 37:33Speaker 13: were too thick. It wasn't a flaky croissant. You to
- 37:35Speaker 13: have a cissant, it's got to be flaky. So you know,
- 37:37Speaker 13: that's something he actually said he'll be working on. But
- 37:40Speaker 13: all the pastries theres are great. Check them out. There
- 37:42Speaker 13: are two to one East Pine Street. If you're looking
- 37:44Speaker 13: for a place for you know, breakfast or brunch or
- 37:47Speaker 13: lunch or deb shrimp and grips, it's called Nick and
- 37:50Speaker 13: Luke All day eatery.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Check it out. Let's move on to our second review,
- 37:53Speaker 2: El Pueblo, Mexican.
- 37:55Speaker 13: El Pueblo, So this place is you know, it's like
- 37:57Speaker 13: a gem of a restaurant in the Weblau of unincorporated
- 38:01Speaker 13: Winter Park. It's been there, It's probably been there for like,
- 38:05Speaker 13: you know, two decades. You know, I was at the
- 38:06Speaker 13: Chevron and Aloma. I was pumping gas and I happened
- 38:09Speaker 13: to catch notice of the restaurant. You know this, it's
- 38:11Speaker 13: that that's in the strip plaza with a dirthy orange
- 38:15Speaker 13: pastel facade, and you know, it immediately took me back
- 38:18Speaker 13: to my last meal there. And and what I distinctly
- 38:21Speaker 13: remember is the is the server telling me, uh, just
- 38:25Speaker 13: saying see you soon. And and that prediction ended up
- 38:28Speaker 13: being off by about twenty or so years, because you know,
- 38:30Speaker 13: I went back in had lunch. I had lunch, and
- 38:35Speaker 13: it's and still that the place still has that charm,
- 38:39Speaker 13: except that now they're the six booths there, you know
- 38:41Speaker 13: they have they have these reliefs painted onto the backgress.
- 38:46Speaker 13: So I was staring at one of a woman making
- 38:48Speaker 13: corn tortillas. That likely influenced my order of the case Siberia,
- 38:52Speaker 13: which was great, great consumme ruddy ruddy sauce beefy.
- 38:57Speaker 8: Oh.
- 38:59Speaker 2: It was kind of it was kind of raining outside,
- 39:01Speaker 2: so that likely influenced my order of this.
- 39:03Speaker 13: What you're watching right now if people are looking at YouTube,
- 39:05Speaker 13: it's the caldo de rez, which is a very famous
- 39:08Speaker 13: Mexican soup. It's a beef shank soup, very hearty, very comforting.
- 39:12Speaker 13: You at the corn and the carrots and potatoes. It's it's,
- 39:15Speaker 13: it's it's a really really good.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Yeah. They do a shrimp.
- 39:19Speaker 13: Tostada which is outstanding. It was so good that at
- 39:21Speaker 13: know I meet it again, I made a mental note
- 39:23Speaker 13: to say, now I gotta come back, and I can't
- 39:25Speaker 13: wait like twenty years between like going to a place
- 39:27Speaker 13: like this. So I brought a bunch of friends the
- 39:29Speaker 13: following week, and again we absolutely indulged in the soapas
- 39:34Speaker 13: that were like topped with barbacoa and a soda. We
- 39:39Speaker 13: had gorditas that were just gorged on piccadillo, which is
- 39:43Speaker 13: like the brown beef with all of yeah, so good,
- 39:46Speaker 13: so fresh, so good, lots of Kotia cheese. But the
- 39:49Speaker 13: reason this place has been around for two decades, Jim,
- 39:51Speaker 13: it's it's the mains. It's the entrees and three of them,
- 39:54Speaker 13: which are absolutely they're there, can't miss, they're they're truly
- 39:58Speaker 13: truly glorious eats. What you're looking at right now, this
- 40:01Speaker 13: is one of them. It's the chorry pio, which is
- 40:03Speaker 13: essentially a flattened chicken breast that's topped with ground choriso
- 40:07Speaker 13: and melted cheese.
- 40:08Speaker 8: Hell it is.
- 40:10Speaker 2: It is so good, and if you go to a
- 40:13Speaker 2: Mexican restaurant that really is authentic. If the terriso is
- 40:16Speaker 2: absolutely like one of the steak, but I think molaise
- 40:19Speaker 2: and the teriso they use because the sausage. Sometimes they
- 40:21Speaker 2: can source it, but a lot of times they will
- 40:23Speaker 2: have places that they get it that they've known for years.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Is that the case here? Just like the terriso, it's
- 40:28Speaker 2: just unbelievable high quality. You know that it's it's high quality,
- 40:32Speaker 2: it's the flavor. It's the way they've seasoned this churriso
- 40:35Speaker 2: that makes this dish truly truly good. The other dish
- 40:38Speaker 2: is like, oh, the bistec asado.
- 40:40Speaker 13: I've never ever described the steak as being vibrant before,
- 40:44Speaker 13: but that's exactly what this steak dish is. They're like
- 40:46Speaker 13: strips of steak and it's it's all tossed in a
- 40:49Speaker 13: tomatillo sauce, which gives it that sort of tibrancy. Yeah, yeah,
- 40:53Speaker 13: that acidic kind of edge. So it's such a different
- 40:56Speaker 13: flavor profile, but so so good. And then the more
- 41:00Speaker 13: we had the chicken mole. There's probably twenty to thirty
- 41:03Speaker 13: different ingredients that go into making this molly, and again
- 41:05Speaker 13: so good. The rice is great, the beans were great.
- 41:08Speaker 13: My only knock here was the the chips, the tortilla
- 41:12Speaker 13: chips that they serve you are not housemade. And but
- 41:15Speaker 13: the but the salsas, the red salsa which is like
- 41:18Speaker 13: a chili. There are bowl salsa, and the salts of
- 41:20Speaker 13: Verde are so so good, they're just the chips are
- 41:24Speaker 13: not worthy of the salts.
- 41:25Speaker 2: That's awesome. That was and then dried out lines, why
- 41:27Speaker 2: serve me, dried out lines. I don't get it. Make
- 41:30Speaker 2: sure so that mole looks amazing, dude to me, I
- 41:35Speaker 2: don't know about you, Bud, when you get it. When
- 41:36Speaker 2: I go to a real legit Mexican place, I find
- 41:39Speaker 2: something on the menu that has moley, that's going to
- 41:41Speaker 2: tell me the story that is that usually is the
- 41:44Speaker 2: pride and joy of any Mexican kitchen that I've really
- 41:48Speaker 2: been a part of. That I like, I don't like,
- 41:50Speaker 2: you're going to love this mole? Yeah.
- 41:51Speaker 13: Love.
- 41:52Speaker 5: I don't want to just call them out, but I
- 41:54Speaker 5: just realized, and I think he just realized that Jack
- 41:57Speaker 5: has never seen a still image of Moley before.
- 42:01Speaker 2: You think that was Jack? What did you think that was? Jack?
- 42:05Speaker 2: It looked like a bear with diarrhea? So where going
- 42:11Speaker 2: with this is that.
- 42:14Speaker 5: I saw his organic face of seeing Moley for the
- 42:18Speaker 5: first time and being starved.
- 42:21Speaker 2: There's the hell, there's nothing like good.
- 42:23Speaker 5: You gotta try mole, Jack, you gotta do a food
- 42:26Speaker 5: series of you like trying crazy food like.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Koheta cheese, And I think Jack will, I think Fias
- 42:31Speaker 2: will agree. When you eat a good moley, you should
- 42:33Speaker 2: really the flavor profiles. You should be able to almost
- 42:37Speaker 2: separate the slavers and spices in your mouth. If it's
- 42:40Speaker 2: put together, well, it should be an organized thing with
- 42:42Speaker 2: the show that we go out to eat. Yeah, okay,
- 42:48Speaker 2: flip it.
- 42:48Speaker 7: I like it.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 42:51Speaker 13: It'll take you while if you want to discern every
- 42:53Speaker 13: one of those ingredients in this molet. I mean, you'll
- 42:55Speaker 13: get the peppers and the chocolate and you know certain
- 42:58Speaker 13: you know spices, but man, there's a lot that goes
- 43:01Speaker 13: into it. In every place has their own unique A
- 43:03Speaker 13: lot of times family recipes, all right.
- 43:06Speaker 2: They have Molijack try the Mulley. Yea yeah, it's amazing, buddy,
- 43:09Speaker 2: especially on that bear Duke. Let's talk about this breaking
- 43:15Speaker 2: secret news you have. I know that you know a
- 43:17Speaker 2: lot of you know a lot of fancy people who
- 43:19Speaker 2: do fancy seven down.
- 43:21Speaker 13: I know I might get in trouble with this one
- 43:22Speaker 13: because the owner does not even want to talk about it.
- 43:24Speaker 13: But you know, you know, your your viewers, your your
- 43:26Speaker 13: ear viewers, your listeners. You know I hold a special
- 43:30Speaker 13: place in my heart. So I want to let all
- 43:31Speaker 13: you guys know, just keep it to yourself, don't tell anybody.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Sonny and Win. Sonny Win, the guy behind DomU and
- 43:38Speaker 2: Tory Tory and Edo Boy and all those places. He's
- 43:41Speaker 2: going to be opening up a.
- 43:44Speaker 13: Udon noodle house called Udan fifty right there at twelve
- 43:48Speaker 13: twenty two East Colonial Drive. It's like where Docy Donuts
- 43:52Speaker 13: used to be.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 43:53Speaker 13: It's very interesting because right across the street is Tsaru,
- 43:56Speaker 13: which is also an Udon noodle house. So I don't know,
- 44:01Speaker 13: I don't know how that will play, but clearly Oudon
- 44:04Speaker 13: fifty will be coming very soon to the Mills Fisher.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I don't think it. I don't think it's gonna matter.
- 44:09Speaker 2: But because I have to tell you, aren't there like
- 44:11Speaker 2: ten bond Me places in that area, and they all
- 44:14Speaker 2: quite they all have survived all this years. That's a
- 44:17Speaker 2: good point, Jim, that's a good point. Yeah, I'm not kidding.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Is good. I think there are literally three or four
- 44:22Speaker 2: bond Me restaurants within You can throw one bond Me
- 44:25Speaker 2: to another one. They're that close.
- 44:28Speaker 13: There's scores of Vietnamese restaurants there. So that's that's the
- 44:31Speaker 13: I don't know when it's opening. I'm sure when, uh
- 44:33Speaker 13: you know when he when he shares more info, I'll
- 44:35Speaker 13: share it with you.
- 44:36Speaker 2: All right. You got about thirty seconds to tell me
- 44:38Speaker 2: about DeVante coming to downtown Orlando.
- 44:41Speaker 13: Yeah, so people who watch Food Network Star, I don't,
- 44:44Speaker 13: But if people are familiar with that show, Food Network Star,
- 44:47Speaker 13: I believe in season three there was a chef name
- 44:51Speaker 13: Joshua Adam Garcia who goes by chef jag and so
- 44:54Speaker 13: he will be opening up a fine dining restaurant at
- 44:58Speaker 13: the Society called the Society Orlando High Rise Buildings. It's
- 45:02Speaker 13: right next door to where Dovecote used to go.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, exactly yeah.
- 45:07Speaker 13: Right across the street. It's a brand new high rise
- 45:09Speaker 13: on the ground floor there. He's going to be opening
- 45:11Speaker 13: with Devanti. It's a fine dining restaurant. He'll be serving
- 45:14Speaker 13: like maybe French Italian type cuisine and all they be
- 45:17Speaker 13: lobsters will be steaked. I don't think he's going utterly fancy,
- 45:19Speaker 13: but it's interesting to see fine dining. We'll come back
- 45:22Speaker 13: to downtown Orlando, or I mean right now we have press.
- 45:25Speaker 13: Let's pretty have Leah, which is still trying to I
- 45:29Speaker 13: think figure themselves out. But yeah, fine dining at the
- 45:32Speaker 13: end of the year. Four ten North Orange Avenue.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Always good hearing from you, buddy, Good laugh for ay, buddy,
- 45:37Speaker 2: mister Piazcara. Read everything that he does right there in
- 45:43Speaker 2: Orlando Weekly dot Com. The tip jar is an absolutely
- 45:46Speaker 2: must if you are a culinarian here in Orlando, Florida.
- 45:49Speaker 2: It is the the ear on the rail of everything
- 45:52Speaker 2: happening in the food biz here in central Florida. And
- 45:54Speaker 2: my man's got it for you. Always a good job, buddy,
- 45:56Speaker 2: Thank you, and good seeing you. Good seeing you all right.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Seven nine four one text US at seven seven zero
- 46:04Speaker 2: three one actor John Goodman. Have you guys seen him lately?
- 46:07Speaker 10: No?
- 46:08Speaker 2: No, lost some weight, He lost a lot of weight.

- 47:35Speaker 14: when you go in the bathroom and you're an American
- 47:38Speaker 14: when you come out of the.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Bathroom, what are you in the bathroom after?
- 47:42Speaker 14: Well, it's simple, Jimmy, European daked you out.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Again. I'll get him. I'll get them one time. Welcome
- 47:55Speaker 2: back to the Jim Culver Show, Real Radio one A
- 47:57Speaker 2: four point one. Thanks for tuning in today. We appreciate that.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I hope you had a big week I hope you
- 48:01Speaker 2: have a big weekend plan. It's gonna be hat. Yeah,
- 48:04Speaker 2: it's gonna be hat.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Everything inside or in the water.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Man Channel two is in on it. I gotta tell
- 48:09Speaker 2: you w E.
- 48:10Speaker 11: S H.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Orlando. If you go to their web page, and I
- 48:13Speaker 2: do every day, it is like they have been leading
- 48:16Speaker 2: with this since June first Heat Advisory forty eight point type.
- 48:22Speaker 2: I just looked at it. It is like literally the
- 48:24Speaker 2: first half of their page is all heat related stuff.
- 48:27Speaker 2: The kids still run through the sprinkler. That's fine. Question.
- 48:32Speaker 2: When water wasn't seventy five dollars a gallon?
- 48:34Speaker 3: Well, I think the difference is it was when your
- 48:37Speaker 3: dad went and put the sprinkler out, you know, the
- 48:38Speaker 3: one that would do either that one? Yeah, yeah, Now
- 48:41Speaker 3: everybody's got a sprinkler system.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. You're right, it's not the
- 48:46Speaker 2: old and which would which one would you do?
- 48:48Speaker 6: The one?
- 48:48Speaker 2: It's like or to you the one that goes back
- 48:52Speaker 2: and forth. We had the one that went back like the.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Other one would stand.
- 48:55Speaker 2: But I'm so confused. What's the sound effect of the
- 48:57Speaker 2: second one. It doesn't have a sound effect it's just
- 49:00Speaker 2: it's just like a rain sprinkler.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Do they even sell old school sprinklers anyway?
- 49:05Speaker 2: I think they did. Oh yeah, I have one in
- 49:07Speaker 2: my garage right now. Oh dear the old rain ones
- 49:09Speaker 2: before we got before we got our system put in.
- 49:12Speaker 2: There's an area of my of my yard it wasn't
- 49:14Speaker 2: getting water, so we had to get it to it.
- 49:17Speaker 2: And uh and yeah save that for the grandkids. Yeah
- 49:19Speaker 2: for sure. All right, welcome back. I'm Jim. There's deb
- 49:22Speaker 2: Jack and sauce. Haven't hit him with a sprinkler, but
- 49:25Speaker 2: just actually, this morning I caught my kid with a
- 49:28Speaker 2: leaf blower. Really yeah, yeah, he was ready for his
- 49:30Speaker 2: first landscaping job. Take him down. No, I didn't take
- 49:33Speaker 2: him down, but he was chasing that dragon. He was
- 49:36Speaker 2: enjoying it. Did you play in the sprinklers as a kid?
- 49:38Speaker 2: Did you do? You guys do any of that stuff?
- 49:40Speaker 5: I like water balloons and hoses, but I don't have
- 49:43Speaker 5: a specific memory of sprinkler.
- 49:46Speaker 3: I'll bet the reason why is because you grew up
- 49:49Speaker 3: and spent a lot of your time in apartment complexes.
- 49:52Speaker 3: Yeah there was there wasn't a thicket, yeah available.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you can't do that. Jack, Did you any
- 49:58Speaker 2: of that as a kid? Sprinklers? Yeah yeah. Did you
- 50:01Speaker 2: guys make your own slipping slides? Yeah yeah, dude. I
- 50:04Speaker 2: gotta tell you in the day, by the way, were
- 50:06Speaker 2: you a sprinkler girl? Oh yeah, even in Wisconsin. I
- 50:08Speaker 2: mean you only have like twenty minutes. You can do
- 50:10Speaker 2: that throughout the entire year.
- 50:12Speaker 3: Two days.
- 50:13Speaker 2: But we would we would get the big piece of
- 50:16Speaker 2: this queen my uncles were bringing home from their work,
- 50:19Speaker 2: and we would put the dish soap on it, paum olive.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I remember it like it was yesterday.
- 50:23Speaker 3: Can still smell it, can't say.
- 50:24Speaker 2: We would use tent steaks to hold it down, and
- 50:26Speaker 2: my grandmother would allow us to uh because our our
- 50:30Speaker 2: water came from a well, so it didn't cost anything
- 50:32Speaker 2: for the water, but my grandmother would be worried about
- 50:34Speaker 2: the power bill as the well was running right to
- 50:36Speaker 2: pump the water out. So we got about an hour
- 50:38Speaker 2: and a half. And I gotta tell you, in our world,
- 50:41Speaker 2: other than going to the lake to go swimming, that
- 50:43Speaker 2: is Christmas morning. But we would break out the slip
- 50:46Speaker 2: inside and just absolutely destroy it for like a few hours.
- 50:50Speaker 2: So much fun. All right, here we go. John Goodman
- 50:53Speaker 2: says this, and see if you guys know why he
- 50:55Speaker 2: would do this. John Goodman, by the way, he was
- 50:57Speaker 2: on a glp ones uh semi glue tides and lost
- 51:00Speaker 2: a lot of weight. So if you see a picture
- 51:02Speaker 2: of our see a photo of John Goodman right now,
- 51:04Speaker 2: he's actually kind of hard to recognize. It's good less
- 51:07Speaker 2: Man because we've known him as Fred Flintstone from Raising Arizona. Right,
- 51:12Speaker 2: just Gemstone, right, Gemstones, I mean, the list goes on. Yeah.
- 51:17Speaker 2: And he's a Roseanne bar One, right. He's a big guy,
- 51:22Speaker 2: used to be so he's a big husky guy.
- 51:25Speaker 15: Right.
- 51:25Speaker 2: And but he said, he goes you know, I don't
- 51:28Speaker 2: grill out anymore. He stopped cooking out. And he said,
- 51:32Speaker 2: I used to love it. I love cooking out, but
- 51:35Speaker 2: I stopped cooking out. Why do you think John Goodman
- 51:38Speaker 2: stopped cooking out?
- 51:39Speaker 3: I means stop grilling outside.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it stoped grilling out.
- 51:42Speaker 8: He doesn't.
- 51:43Speaker 2: It used to be one of his favorite things, but
- 51:44Speaker 2: he doesn't do it anymore. The grill brush, he grill
- 51:49Speaker 2: brush blade. What if I told you it had nothing
- 51:51Speaker 2: to do with grilling, I had everything to do with
- 51:54Speaker 2: his meat consumption.
- 51:56Speaker 3: I wonder if it has to do with how his
- 51:58Speaker 3: taste buds may have changed after taking jails. He wants
- 52:02Speaker 3: interesting and it doesn't make grilled foods taste the same.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Or he's no, he wants he's lost the love of grilling.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Now you're ready for this. It has nothing to do
- 52:11Speaker 2: with any of that. I said that to throw you
- 52:13Speaker 2: guys off. John Goodman used to be an alcoholic. Okay,
- 52:18Speaker 2: he doesn't grill out anymore, because that was his favorite
- 52:21Speaker 2: place to get drunk, was grilling out. Oh so his
- 52:25Speaker 2: favorite thing to do was fire up the grill, get
- 52:28Speaker 2: a cooler beer, whatever the case may be, and stand
- 52:30Speaker 2: there in front of that grill and hammer beers. You know,
- 52:32Speaker 2: like our audience. Exactly, what are you talking about? Fifty
- 52:36Speaker 2: of the show? Exactly? And I found that very interesting,
- 52:40Speaker 2: and I asked, my god, look how skinny? I asked
- 52:42Speaker 2: my wife this morning as we were talking about the story,
- 52:44Speaker 2: I said, now do you do this? I said, because
- 52:47Speaker 2: I know I do this when I when I'm cooking
- 52:49Speaker 2: a meal for a like when we're having a family
- 52:51Speaker 2: get together. For me, it's a bottle of wine. The
- 52:54Speaker 2: glass is right there, and I just keep pouring wine
- 52:56Speaker 2: and cooking and listening to music. It is literally one
- 52:59Speaker 2: of my favorite where it zen parts of my life
- 53:01Speaker 2: is doing that. And I wondered if everybody else had
- 53:04Speaker 2: something that they do, like a chore or whatever that
- 53:07Speaker 2: you associate with drinking alcohol. I asked my wife because
- 53:10Speaker 2: I thought I remembered her like drinking while painting, like
- 53:13Speaker 2: when she would do like a chore and paint a room.
- 53:16Speaker 2: She had a music going, get it like a glass
- 53:17Speaker 2: of wine, and she said, no, I don't do that
- 53:19Speaker 2: because I want to get it done. If I start
- 53:20Speaker 2: drinking one, I'm not gonna get anything done right right,
- 53:23Speaker 2: A lot of the eyes will, like you know, like
- 53:24Speaker 2: drinking beers will be doing yard work stuff like that.
- 53:27Speaker 2: You guys got any in it?
- 53:28Speaker 5: I mean I've yet to have a better beer. Doesn't
- 53:31Speaker 5: matter what brand or what kind, as long as it's
- 53:34Speaker 5: after mowing a yard. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's water
- 53:37Speaker 5: when when the beer tastes so good, it feels like milk.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't get it cold enough.
- 53:42Speaker 4: If I'm coming up like cutting along, all I want
- 53:45Speaker 4: is I wrn her I do. Yeah, I have no
- 53:47Speaker 4: desire to drink alcohol at that moment. But do you
- 53:50Speaker 4: have a thing that you do that we're not an
- 53:52Speaker 4: alcoholics us. Yeah, but that's not an alcoholic. That's just
- 53:55Speaker 4: a fun guy.
- 53:58Speaker 2: It says the alcohol until the liver failure. But I
- 54:03Speaker 2: just thought that for you, Deborah, I would think like
- 54:05Speaker 2: I could picture you doing this, getting into your room,
- 54:08Speaker 2: getting yall set up with your miniatures, pouring your glass wine,
- 54:11Speaker 2: making a cocktailor whatever, and kind of enjoying your time
- 54:14Speaker 2: doing that.
- 54:16Speaker 7: No.
- 54:17Speaker 3: No, because especially doing miniature work, it's just it's just
- 54:20Speaker 3: too precise. It requires your best eye sight. Yeah, already
- 54:24Speaker 3: at that age where I've got to work with the daylight. Yeah,
- 54:26Speaker 3: you know, in the glasses. So no, there really isn't anything.
- 54:30Speaker 3: That's the treat after the choe. Really that's the that's
- 54:33Speaker 3: what that's the treat. Okay, I finished the laundry or
- 54:36Speaker 3: I painted that room.
- 54:38Speaker 4: Quick aside, Do you have one of those magnifying glasses
- 54:41Speaker 4: with the light ring on the arm?
- 54:42Speaker 3: I have two or three of them. Oh, and I
- 54:44Speaker 3: still need to get a jeweler's loop because the project
- 54:47Speaker 3: I'm working on is so small.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Damn.
- 54:48Speaker 5: Really yeah, so she can't drink, dude, that's like doing
- 54:51Speaker 5: surgery with plastic. It's literal plastic surgery.
- 54:57Speaker 2: So Jack, you don't have like something it doesn't have
- 54:59Speaker 2: to be a chore, but you don't have something you do,
- 55:02Speaker 2: like when you play video games. Yes, when you play
- 55:04Speaker 2: video games, you make like a cocktail to.
- 55:06Speaker 4: Sit down and do that with I will do that,
- 55:08Speaker 4: but it's so like the old fashioned that's like after dinner, nighttime. Right,
- 55:13Speaker 4: television is better for me because that has a hand
- 55:17Speaker 4: free video gaming, both your hands are free, so it's
- 55:19Speaker 4: like okay, you know, you take a break, then you drink,
- 55:23Speaker 4: but it's it's easier to drink while watching television. But
- 55:26Speaker 4: it's television or video games either night activity.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think the difference here, Jimmy, is that
- 55:33Speaker 3: all the other activities you talked about, like Tory painting
- 55:36Speaker 3: a room, those are all chores. Those are things you
- 55:40Speaker 3: have to get done. Whereas for you, cooking is such
- 55:43Speaker 3: a place of confidence hobby. It's a hobby you don't
- 55:47Speaker 3: have to worry about following a recipe or if you
- 55:50Speaker 3: know what you're doing, or if you have to heat
- 55:52Speaker 3: your pan up, So you can allow yourself to relax
- 55:55Speaker 3: a little bit when you're cooking, because your confidence takes
- 55:58Speaker 3: away that edge of anxiety. And it's you said it yourself.
- 56:01Speaker 3: It's your zeno.
- 56:01Speaker 2: It is one of my favorite places to be. I
- 56:04Speaker 2: love it and I like. I like drinking beer when
- 56:05Speaker 2: I play poker. I don't like. I usually don't read
- 56:08Speaker 2: whiskey when I play poker, but I love drinking beer
- 56:10Speaker 2: when I play poker.
- 56:11Speaker 3: How many men do you know grill and don't have
- 56:13Speaker 3: a cold beer.
- 56:14Speaker 2: It looks like just one. No, jack jack things is
- 56:17Speaker 2: for losers. No, No, I think you're an alcoholic.
- 56:19Speaker 4: I will actually, if I'm growing, I can do the
- 56:23Speaker 4: beer thing, because if I'm growing, it's usually a holiday.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Yeah. But the thing that it's it's wild though, because
- 56:28Speaker 2: when I heard the story from John Goodman is like,
- 56:30Speaker 2: you know, it's a thing like, Okay, I'm gonna go
- 56:32Speaker 2: out there, I'm gonna fire the grill up and I'm
- 56:33Speaker 2: gonna get my beer nice and cold. And it's just
- 56:36Speaker 2: almost like when he's timing and I've gotta put the
- 56:37Speaker 2: chicken on creak my first beer. I'm gonna turn the
- 56:39Speaker 2: chicken in second beer.
- 56:40Speaker 3: It's a trigger.
- 56:41Speaker 2: It's the girl wouldn't start unless he had the cooler
- 56:44Speaker 2: of alcohol. Yeah yeah, yeah, So.
- 56:46Speaker 3: It's too much of a trigger for him to go
- 56:48Speaker 3: to try and recapture the love of grilling to take
- 56:51Speaker 3: the chance that he's undoing all the work that he
- 56:53Speaker 3: did with the GP one.
- 56:54Speaker 2: And it's interesting too, because like, I don't consider myself
- 56:56Speaker 2: an alcoholic by any means.
- 56:58Speaker 3: I do.
- 56:58Speaker 2: I do love drinking, but I don't like, I don't
- 57:00Speaker 2: interest in okasets how it starts. I don't long to drink,
- 57:04Speaker 2: but during those times I do and like. But the
- 57:06Speaker 2: thing is, like, you wouldn't not play video games just
- 57:10Speaker 2: because you wouldn't want that to trigger you drinking. I mean, no, no, no,
- 57:13Speaker 2: no like that.
- 57:15Speaker 5: Honestly, I kind of feel a little foreign on this
- 57:18Speaker 5: topic because I have consumed all media sober for quite
- 57:21Speaker 5: some time now.
- 57:22Speaker 16: Oh really, No, I like being twisted, ripped, blipped, blooped,
- 57:32Speaker 16: zipped and zopped. I mean, like, some of the best
- 57:38Speaker 16: times I've ever had has been just being pretty just
- 57:42Speaker 16: banged up, pretty.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Banged up watching a movie.
- 57:45Speaker 5: I watched Man of Steel over at Point Orlando on
- 57:49Speaker 5: like three grams of mushrooms, and like I cried, it
- 57:53Speaker 5: was so good, it was so emotional. And if you
- 57:57Speaker 5: really think about that movie, Jim, it starts off on
- 58:00Speaker 5: Superman's original planet, Krypton, yeah, and the whole time, I'm like,
- 58:04Speaker 5: I think we're.
- 58:04Speaker 2: In the wrong movie. Like I thought what Russell Crowe
- 58:10Speaker 2: was Superman? I was so lost.
- 58:13Speaker 5: So yeah, I'm a big fan of getting a little
- 58:15Speaker 5: twisted and enjoying video games TV shows.
- 58:19Speaker 2: But the difference is you could still go to a
- 58:21Speaker 2: movie without being banged up and enjoy the movie, right yeah.
- 58:25Speaker 2: I think that for him is like what dev was
- 58:26Speaker 2: saying is is that grilling thing was a trigger to
- 58:29Speaker 2: his alcoholism and he knows he can't do it because
- 58:32Speaker 2: it just kind of gets him in that mode where
- 58:34Speaker 2: this is when I would usually drink eight or ten beers.
- 58:36Speaker 3: It's risky that he would just I'll just have a beer,
- 58:39Speaker 3: right yeah, I'll just have a beer this time.
- 58:41Speaker 2: And to be honest with you, when I played golf,
- 58:42Speaker 2: I talk about like it's hit or miss, Like, yeah,
- 58:45Speaker 2: I played that a couple of weeks ago and had
- 58:47Speaker 2: a couple of beers when I played golf because I
- 58:48Speaker 2: got playing with us, brought a cooler with him, and
- 58:50Speaker 2: then I played with my buddy last weekend. Did not
- 58:53Speaker 2: have a drop. After the round, we had a beer,
- 58:55Speaker 2: but not during the round.
- 58:56Speaker 3: It's too hot.
- 58:57Speaker 2: No, I'm not I disagree, because Russ will tell you
- 58:59Speaker 2: right if you got there and loiling and you get
- 59:01Speaker 2: an ice cold miller like, oh, you can squeeze drink it.
- 59:06Speaker 2: I mean you can literally squeeze it into your body.
- 59:09Speaker 2: You can chug it.
- 59:11Speaker 5: I'm telling you, man, when all of a sudden it
- 59:13Speaker 5: goes full circle from beer all of a sudden into
- 59:15Speaker 5: like ice cream, Like this is so good.
- 59:18Speaker 2: I bet these construction workers and roofers that listen to
- 59:20Speaker 2: us can drink by osmosis. They literally just put the
- 59:23Speaker 2: beer up next to their skin and they will soak
- 59:25Speaker 2: it through the can.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Someone just texted us at seven seven zero three one.
- 59:28Speaker 3: My Thanksgiving tradition is cracking open a butt heavy whoa
- 59:32Speaker 3: at six am, standing in front of the smoker like
- 59:35Speaker 3: a cave man and not talking to any man.
- 59:38Speaker 8: That's it.
- 59:38Speaker 2: I do the same thing, but I use wine on Thanksgiving.
- 59:40Speaker 4: This is such an amazing segment as a prelude to
- 59:44Speaker 4: the debut of our next feature, which is.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Whiskey of the Week. I can't do the show with
- 59:50Speaker 2: that whiskey. Guys. My problem man, in my contract, dude,
- 59:58Speaker 2: I can do whatever I own. Yeah, thanks for the guys,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Thank you guys. The board slash. We will have Whiskey
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: of the Week next to stay tuned for that. It's
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: the brand new segment right after this.
- 1:00:13Speaker 17: I'm right there with you, Jimmy, where I'm cleaning, cooking, chilling,
- 1:00:17Speaker 17: hanging out, a little bit of music, bottle of bourbon, chilling.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: A lot of times. Don't listening to music.
- 1:00:24Speaker 7: I have it on Real Radio one oh four point one.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, baby, Jim James.
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: I don't ask my mom if she had a hobby,
- 1:00:35Speaker 9: but she's like, I don't really don't do anything. I'm like, oh,
- 1:00:38Speaker 9: everything I do, I'm drinking, and she will just say
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: say about.
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: You, crap.
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: I don't have any hobbies either. I guess my hobby
- 1:00:47Speaker 9: is drinking. Well, drinking, Now what does that say about me?
- 1:00:53Speaker 9: I'm the alcoholic.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Leave the lizard alone, Munchkin, my dog.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: A right.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Welcome back to this on Colbert Show or a radio
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: one oh four point one. If you want to send
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: a talkback, it's easy, guys, we love them. Grab the
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: iHeartRadio app, go straight to real Radio and use that
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: mike to in your comment of the Jack and we'll
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: get you on the air.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Serious.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: I'm Jim, there's deb Jack is here he is Sauce
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: is as well. I like this segment. Yeah, let's do it.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Let's do Whiskey of the Week.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Forward Slash Distillery and Blending House Freeze and we're stre
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: of bo.
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: On the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Yeah, big thanks to our friends over at Forward Slash
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: right through the Winter Park. You can find them easily.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: They're awesome. Their website is drinkforward Slash dot com. If
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I find him on Insta, that is at Drink Forward Slash.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: This is a whiskey distillery. We did our first stop
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: at the Bourbon bus here.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: And not only are the whiskeys amazing, the dudes who
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: own this joint are like the coolest. Yes. I mean,
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: if you want to go to a bourbon house and
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: not feel like you're in a stuffy place with a
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: bunch of dudes who have been drinking bourbon since they
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: were ten, to go to Forward Slash. These guys are
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: really really cool. They understand the unique aspects of whiskey,
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: They appreciate it, and they want to bring that experience
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: to you and they do a damn good job of
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: it and they actually do it right there at their spot.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: And we feature one of these whiskeys every week now,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: and this week's whiskey is the Winter Park Art Festival
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Blend twenty twenty six. Oh God, what no, this is
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: It's just literally heaven and a glass and I haven't
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I took one sip. I did take a sip. I
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: forgot that we were supposed to wait.
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: But what you just said is like one of the
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: most Orlando liquids of all time. It really said, Oh God,
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: because I love living in Orlando, I love Central Florida,
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: I love our local businesses.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Say that one more time. What what are we drinking today?
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: We're drinking Winter Park Art Festival Blend twenty twenty six. Yeah,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: that's this is. This is a blend to some of
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: their oldest stock bourbon whiskey, finished in sherry, armagnac barrels
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: and cognac barrels. They assembly each year to celebrate the history,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: culture and community of the famous Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: This brawls across the entire area and of course, if
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: you're new to the area and you haven't been to
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: the art fest, it is one of our premiere events
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: throughout the year and it's one of those be seeing things,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: very cool event they're making this year.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: They're making two hundred and fifty five bottles of it,
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: but they say it's one of their most anticipated releases
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: of the year.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: It's one hundred proof, so that means it's fifty percent
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: alcohol by volume. It is a really rare because, like
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Jack said, they only make two hundred and fifty five
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: botles of it. And guess what, there's only twenty bottles
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: left and there will no And here's the other thing
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: about this, but I'm saying, I'm freaking out this rest.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: He will never be made again. They will never make
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: this whiskey again. And that's the coolest thing about blended whiskey.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: I am over the moon right now. All right, let's
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: give it a shot. Jack, what do you say? Let's
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: do it. By the way, you can check us out
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: right now at a real radio DONFM slash watch.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: Yeah, watch us drink now. I realize we need music
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: for this. Oh right, yeah, I'll I'm on their website
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: right now. This is what I mean by like, I
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: love drinking my community. I love drinking everything local. How
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: about this. They have an old watchdog. They have a
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: tribute to one hundred and fifty years of the Orlando
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: sets or whiskey. Yeah, but the bottle of it, Yeah,
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: they came in. That's the coolest, dude.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: It's unbelievable. I love it. That's another rare event. And
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: the cool thing about this is is you can get
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: these bottles and they're almost collectible. And the whiskey is delicious,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: by the way, almost Yeah. Yeah, these are going to
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: be Orlando's number one spirit if it isn't already. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: this is so delicious. And I gotta tell you this
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: holds up against you know, national brand bourbons that you've
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: been drinking for years. A little spicy, would you agree?
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: A little bit? Yeah, a little bit spicy right now.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: A lot of a lot of bourbons that you will
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: get out will have that that orange kind of vanilla
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: thing to them. Sometimes even a little bit of toasted
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: marshmallow in there. This has like like baking spice, spice.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: It's very good now. And when you say it tastes
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: like that, No, you're not gonna taste like send them
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: in a nutmeg. It has nothing to do with that.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: At the end of the taste, on your taste buds,
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: there are remnants of flavor and sometimes those will take
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: on aspects of things that you can you're familiar with,
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: and that's how they do the tastings. This has that
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: to me.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: See, that's why I wanted to do this is because
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: to me, I take I take a drink, I'm like, oh,
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: that's alcohol and all of these little subtle things. See
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: this might be a shock to you, but I would
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: say my palette could be best described as underdeveloped.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Okay, well then let's.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: So that's why I want to learn, Yeah, to kind
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: of separate and have a better understanding. Right, So why
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: I like something and when you drink it, you're not
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: going to Here's the other thing too, Like people think
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: you drink the whiskey and they're like, okay, I can't
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: taste it like that really to me? This is to me,
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: I don't know, but after I drink the whiskey, it's
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: what's left on my palette. And then you do that thing,
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: you get some air in there and kind of pull
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: it off your tongue, and then what you're doing is
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: you're also your sinuses are telling you what flavors are
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: in there as well. So if you do it after
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: the fact, you can start tasting that stuff. When people
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: like I like looking at it and Okay, this is
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: gonna be in there and then go find it, right,
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: And sometimes I don't do that same thing with cigars.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: I know what I'm tasting. I'm tasting some type of
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: nut started it. But no, what do you mean that started?
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: You joined it?
- 1:06:29Speaker 18: Yeah?
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Well she laughed, and I realized, oh that is funny.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Smirk canoe right now with a nut in your mouth,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: like like toasted, tasting hazel nut or tasting some sort
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: of nut. I know I'm in trouble when I paused
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: right there and you went to say it very good,
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: by the way. And the funny thing is is like that,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: you know you can you these to you know, make
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: your favorite cocktail with the scour maybe excuse me, whiskey
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: sour or maybe an old fashion. But I have to
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: tell you I like drinking this kind of whiskey straight up.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Well it's really bit of one ice cube that because
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: with an old fashion.
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: And one of the reasons why me am I underdevelop
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: palette enjoy it, it's you're adding sugar, right, yeah, sugar.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: You had bitters and cherries and orange, right, so you're
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: adding all of that stuff and you're not getting the
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: true essence of the whiskey itself, which you can if
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: you just strink.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: At neat or you know, sure. And that's why when
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: you buy a good bottle of whiskey, you really don't
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: use that to make cocktails. That's why a lot of
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: dudes who are in the game really don't like seeing
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: that you're buying really good blends of whiskey to taste
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: the flavors and the unique aspects of of you know,
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: what it pulled out of the barrel or how long
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: it was aged, all those things. You can buy your
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: stock whiskeys to make to make your your old fashions
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: and drinks with, and you're gonna have pretty much the
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: same experience. I like Makers I make almost all my
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: fashion my old fashions, Like that's strictly what I use
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: for old fashion. Makers Mark, Bakers sometimes Russell's ten is
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: another really good whiskey that's not that much, and it's
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: a real good, really good whiskey.
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: Another thing about Makers Mark, if you buy two is
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: certain times at Costco you get ten dollars off when
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: you buy two, and it's the best price.
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: Burg But yeah, it's not too bad. Yeah, I mean
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: it's good. Yeah, I'm a wood for guy on my
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: old fashion. Yeah, that's a good whiskey. First, it's also good.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a reserve.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: What's really neat about? Uh coward slash blending houses. They
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: actually had the recipe here and I guess for any
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: of their mixes and they tell you like what percent
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: is you know, Yeah, like thirty two percent Filibuster Distillery
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: from Virginia. Yeah, and tells you the barrel type and
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: the year, yeah, how long it was age, what kind
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: of barrel was in? Very cool stuff, man, So we
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: want to thank these guys for Whiskey of the Week.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: The whiskey of the week this week, by the way,
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: you can get it over there. Yeah, is Winter Park
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: Art Festival Blend. We'll have another one next week and
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: the guys are actually coming in in two weeks. In
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: two weeks they'll be come and join us and kind
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: of take us through the idea of how they do this.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: They've been on with us before. We love them, but
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: I love listening to them talk about building the whiskeys
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: and how they do that really unique stuff.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: So the website is Drinkforward slash dot com. You can
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: also follow him on Instagram at drink forward slash.
- 1:09:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Absolutely, thanks guys, we appreciate it very much. Our very
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: first episode of Whiskey of the Wheat Tears. All right,
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: back of cheers to you back in a second.
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: Hey did o'hana?
- 1:09:23Speaker 17: Well, going back to talking about restaurant quality food, I
- 1:09:26Speaker 17: take a lot of pride in what I do in
- 1:09:28Speaker 17: the kitchen, and I definitely have crafted an incredible shrimp
- 1:09:32Speaker 17: and grits. Sometimes I use fresh grouper, get that nice
- 1:09:36Speaker 17: crispy sere on the outside of it from a skillet
- 1:09:39Speaker 17: cheese grits sometimes sometimes not, but ross bra don't we
- 1:09:43Speaker 17: have kind of a detox not being able to watch
- 1:09:46Speaker 17: Kate Verdie whatever.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: You do, have a great trip, enjoy a loo hot brother.
- 1:09:52Speaker 19: Don't tell me slipping slide was one of the coolest
- 1:09:56Speaker 19: things ever invented.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: It was by what company? Wemma right popular.
- 1:10:01Speaker 10: He's a group without the.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: Oh wham, Yeah there you wamo very good.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jump Bobar Show or a radio
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: one or four point one night. Jim Depas here has
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: Jack is as well. Wait, we're also had to split.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: He's got a pride game tonight. So if you're tuning
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: in to watch the Orlando Pride. You can see him
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: do some of his stuff. You're at the game, you
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: can definitely see him and our friend Sabrina out there
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: working their butts off.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: Yes, And the jumbo Tron is that one of those
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: things where, like, is Jumbo Tron the company that like
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: did the first one? So we called them all jumbo
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: Trons like shotch tape, Yeah, Xerox.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it would have to be right, I mean that's
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: kind of I mean, I don't They're probably not all
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: made by Jumbo Tron. I'm sure that there are other
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: companies that make large screen led video displays. I mean,
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: I'm sure there are. Damn that whiskey is good.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: I guess it's just the name of the screen because
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: it says a jumbo Tron is a massive billboard style
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: digital video screen commonly used in sports stadiums arenas in
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: large outdoor venues.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: So it's not a company, it's a term. It's just
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: a term. Yeah, yeah, very cool.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Originally referred to as a specific cathode ray tube.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: All right, have a CRT sevens? Yeah, your old televisions
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: with CRT.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, gray to Now I know what that means. When
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: someone textes it and I said, text is it? And
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: I didn't even have any burden.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: You ain't from Texas, from Wisconsin.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: The fumes just from that little bit, like so the
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: sniff and someone texted, it's like, okay, when you're simply whiskey,
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: it's like you take a little sip, you move it
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: around your mouth, and you wait thirty seconds, you swallow it,
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: then you wait thirty seconds, then you take a sip
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: and that allows you to really taste the flavor.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Well, here's the problem for me. I can't do that
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: without doing this.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Is that making a face? Yeah, well it's too The
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: sniffers are actually built to do that, right. The snippers
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: are designed to aerate the whisky so that when you
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: tip it up.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: I thought it was brandy.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: You're the same thing. I mean, it's it's the same
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: exact idea, because you want the liquid to kind of
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: aerate a little bit so you can smell it, because
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: your sinuses are obviously a big part of your your smell,
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I mean your your sense of taste as well.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: Now, I was always taught that the reason why a
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: wine glass stem is so long is so that your
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: hand doesn't heat the wine, right, whereas a sniffer that
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: was called a sniffer. The bowl is so big because
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: it's meant for the heat from your hand to warm
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: the brandy or the whiskey or the bourbon so that
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: it releases like the.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: Glasses we have though those are cocktail glasses are those
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: are basically old fashioned glasses. But when you get whiskey sniffers, right,
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: we've had them in here. A corona has them. They're
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: built like that so when you tilted up, it airates
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: that so you can get a good snort of it
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: before you drink it.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: Without making the face.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: See, I don't think I could drink it without making
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: the face.
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: But we weren't going to drink whiskey without using the
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: Jim Culbert Show official rocks glass.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: Which, by the way, everyone is asking where they can
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: get them.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: To really come on the next bourbon bus because the
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: Jim Calberchow Bourbon Bus everyone who wrote it got one,
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: and thank you to El Mahico Whiskey Paul on Facebook.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: We should get something and just sell them. I mean
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: we there's no reason we shouldn't have a merch area.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: I mean we would have to have a bunch of
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: stuff up there. But I had a T shirt and
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: a whiskey glass would be the worst thing ever. Sure, yeah,
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: we'll get right on there. You have whats happened, don't they?
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you have no idea. The red tape and the
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: paperwork you gotta do no way like that. That doesn't
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: seem like a rough thing. That red tape thing doesn't
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: seem like a Rowlins goods Rawlins is more of a
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: let's just do it and ask for that's right. So
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: if you don't want red tape, you pay someone else
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: to deal with your red tape. Oh that's fine, I
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: got that. No worries about that.
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: Oh good, Then he's he's actually offering to take it on.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll do that.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: Oh that'd be cool. It would be cool to sell
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: them like that. It's shipping glasses another Yeah, yeah that's true.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: We have hookups, so we know how to do that stuff,
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: all right, seven seven zero three one. That's how you
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: text us. I would ask you, guys, what you think
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: about this? Now, deb you smoke, I'll say, she does,
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: yeah hah in so many ways. But there is a
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: company in Japan that's looking at this differently.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Now. The cool thing about Deborah is smoking is Deborah
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: does not like take smoke, but she couldn't. Obviously you
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: can't leave from the air and go smoke, so whatever,
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: she's an expert at this smoke.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: I give one minute to get downstairs, two minutes to smoke,
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: and two minutes to get back.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: There, and she's never late. What you do, what you
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: do about three or four times a show, right, I have.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: One before the show, and then what I do is
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: I'll smoke two more and I smoke them in half.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: Right right, exactly. In other words, but you but you leave,
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: go downstairs, grab a smoke, and then come back up
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: like three or four times a show, three three three
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: times a show three times. That's it now. I'll remember
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: back in the day, we had an old PD, a
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: program director here, and she would take smoke breaks as
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: a lot of people who worked in the office who
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: were here full time, not in sales. Sales is different
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: because you're out on the road and you can smoke
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: break all you want. You're not like an hour kind
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: of scenario, right right. This company in Japan is giving
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: everybody who doesn't smoke cigarettes six days extra vacation. They
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: get wow of it because of it, because what they
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: figured is they did the math and they figured every
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: employee who smoked, they they figured out how long they
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: took off work to go downstairs or outside or whatever
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: to smoke a cigarette, and they figured the average employee
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: was doing that about an hour a day, an hour
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: to an hour and a half a day. They were
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: taking like four fifteen minute breaks to step outside and
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: grab a smoke.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: Mine would be a total of twenty twenty what twenty
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: minutes because there's fifteen before the show, right, and then
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: five and five.
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: But they're not penalizing the people who smoke. They're rewarding
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: people who don't who don't and encourage the people who
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: smoke to quit.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: And that's exactly what they're trying to do.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: Yeah, because in that way they get their six extra
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: vacation day.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly what they're trying to do. Because what
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: they did they figured out that throughout when you're doing
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: that every day, when that all adds up, it turns
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: out that you've taken six days at the company's time
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: per year to smoke your cigarettes. And they didn't think
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: that was fair to employees that weren't taking those breaks,
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: that were working through those breaks, And that doesn't count lunch,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: by the way, and I think it was. I think
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: the story said it was a thirty minute lunch and
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: they did not count that, so only the time that
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: they left the office to go grab a smoke. And
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: they bonus the other employees six days of vacation that
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: they did not give the people who smoke cigarettes.
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: I think that's a brilliant idea.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: I think it's kind of interesting. And you know what
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: the funny thing is, that's never well, we don't have
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: to worry about that much anymore. I mean, there are
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: fewer people smoking in America than ever before.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: But unfortunately we've talked about it before. For some reason,
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: gen Z is embracing it again. And I'm not talking vaping.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: I'm talking smoking cigarettes thinking it makes them look cool. Really,
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: and it doesn't. San I gotta tell you, I don't
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: slap that cigarette out of their hands.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: That was true to people wouldn't smoke it, I know.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: But it's making its way back into TV shows and
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: movie I mean videos that you might see in social
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: so the people that they admire and think are cool
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: when they pick that habit up. It's just like the
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: magazines we used to read with the supermodels and everything else,
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: so they're being refed that message, which is a shame.
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: How many adults American adults do you think smoke in America?
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: This is a total number?
- 1:17:17Speaker 20: M hmmm.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: Are you or you could gets a percentage?
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: I could do both. I'll do three percent, not even
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: two and a half.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: I think it's a little bit more than that. I
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: want to say it's in the I want to say
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: it's like thirteen percent of America.
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: Yeah, work together, it's ten really, so that would be
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: like three hundred or twenty five million, twenty five million.
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: I was going to say less than a million.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, twenty five million people.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: And the funny thing is, depending on the news, it
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: could be twenty six by the end of the day.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: It's almost double that for that use at least one
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: form of tobacco, which includes vapes and cigars, right right, right, Okay,
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: But we understand like for some reason, Asian countries are
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Asian nations have always like been in love. Is like,
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: we know that the Chinese have smoked incessantly for years,
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Japanese and have smoked for a while.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: Actually, it's to me it's one of the most egregious
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: things that happened when our US Surgeon General cracked down
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: on cigarette companies for making the claims that they made,
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: of course, and had to make it somewhat of a
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: healthier habit. They took all that s overseas, Jimmy, did
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: they really? If you ever see an R. J. Reynolds
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: display or any of the pall mall's right outside of schools,
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: no way where the kids will get discounts and coupons
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: and promotional gear, all that stuff they can't do in
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: the States. They took it overseas.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: That's wild because we've heard for years in our country here,
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: you know, they villainize our vilified cigarettes, and they have
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: done that since the seventies, right, we've heard that. But
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: it's funny because one of the running jokes in America
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: is that a lot of these Asian countries they smoke,
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: and they have been smoking for years, but yet they
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: lived in ninety Yeah. Yeah, they smoke cigarettes, but yet
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: they lived way past our expected life. Turn always amazed
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: by that.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, she would plain that on processed food.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: Two people text the exact same text saying or the
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: same idea. Can't hated smokers because they would get five
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: to ten minutes a smoke break every hour, but if
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: they stood around for five minutes, you get the time
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: to lean, time to clean.
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: You know, yeah, exactly, Yeah, that's not yeah, that's not yeah.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: And I remember And by the way, the woman who, uh,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: the woman we were talking about, who was our manager,
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: was one of the most beloved people in the building. Everybody.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: I mean, you guys know what I'm talking about. She
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: was genuinely one of the most beloved people in the building.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: And I never heard a bad person that a bad
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: thing about her. The only thing I ever heard was
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: people were like, god, man, you go downstairs take a
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: lot of smoke breaks, and you wondered how much time
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: that added up to. And she wasn't the only one
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: that did it, but other people did it as well,
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: but nobody said anything about it because they liked her
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: so much. And you know, who's gonna say anything in
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: this building about it?
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: Oh? I would imagine that somebody would if it did
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: become an issue, If if you were needed or there
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: was a phone call.
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: And that works four hours a day, would you say
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: something about it? I would say a word about it.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: I loved her. There's a way she got She helped
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: me so much. There's no way I'd say a word
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: about it. She knew it twice as much. I wouldn't care. Yeah,
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: I found that interesting. So Japan is doing that, that's right.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: They're gonna bonus people who do not smoke. Uh, they're
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: going to basically add up all that time the other
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: smokers spend outside smoking cigarettes, and they're bonus bonusing them
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: vacation time.
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: Well, it's like kind of like where companies are trying
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: to get employees who maybe need to lose weight. They've
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: they've offered incentive programs, will they'll actually pay you if
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: you lose weight. So kudos to companies for trying to
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: find creative ways to get their staff to be healthier
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: and be more balanced.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: And the thing is with the health thing, obviously, that's
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: going to cut down on costs for the company long
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: term because if you know, you're not, if you're not
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: you know, using that insurance.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: I already do my darnness for the company. I save
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: them so much money.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, very good? All right? Yeah? Do you
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: really just by being a woman?
- 1:20:59Speaker 20: Huh?
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: No, I I never go to the doctor.
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm joking. I never. They don't have to
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: work about it. Mine was the glass eiling joke. Oh
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: all right for seven nine all the time Texas seven
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: seven service. I thought you would appreciate it. My apologies,
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: I didn't get it. I'm Jim, there's dead he is
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: here and take a little break back in a secon
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: with more than Jim Globert Joe.
- 1:21:19Speaker 19: You get six extra days of vacation if you're a
- 1:21:22Speaker 19: non smoker, But they don't actually take in the time
- 1:21:28Speaker 19: the amount of breaks that you take just going to
- 1:21:31Speaker 19: the water cooler, talking to your co workers, doing nothing,
- 1:21:34Speaker 19: hanging out in.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: The break room, things like that man smoker car.
- 1:21:36Speaker 19: So I think it goes both ways. Everyone kind of
- 1:21:38Speaker 19: finds their way to get time off. Anyway, have a
- 1:21:41Speaker 19: wonderful weekend. Cheers, Thanks buddy, appreciate.
- 1:21:44Speaker 20: That you already know. I got to ask this question.
- 1:21:47Speaker 15: Okay, there's whiskey and there's bourbon. Nope, and then there's
- 1:21:52Speaker 15: bourbon whiskey Nope. But can a bourbon be a bourbon
- 1:21:56Speaker 15: without being a whiskey?
- 1:21:58Speaker 7: Nope?
- 1:21:59Speaker 20: Whiskeys whisky. Good to Ireland and ask somebody for a bourbon.
- 1:22:02Speaker 20: They look at your sideways. Heah, we drink whiskey. Yeah,
- 1:22:07Speaker 20: I don't understand what the difference is.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: You tell me and a lot of other people.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: Hey, guys, just missed Whiskey of the week getting off work.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: What was the whiskey the question mark?
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Talk to text all right, four a seventh. I've been
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: guilty of it, I know four seven nine four one.
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: Text us at seven seven zero three one. I'm Jim.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: There's Deva Jack is here as well. Hi there, whiskey
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: the week brought to you by our friends that were
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: a forward slash The whiskey this week was the winter
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: Park Art Festival Blend at twenty twenty six. You can
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: get it Ford Slash Drink. Forward slash dot com is
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: the website. Yep, They're located right there in the heart
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: of winter Park. Yeah, it's my one of my kid's
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: favorite spots to go because they live right around the
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: corner with them walking to see Oh very cool, so
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: they love sliding over. All right, All all bourbon is whiskey,
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: but all whiskey isn't bourbon, correct, Okay, all bourbon is whiskey.
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: All whiskey isn't bourbon because there's there's rye whiskey, there's
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: Scotch whiskey. There's Irish whiskey. They're Canadian whiskey. Canadian whiskey
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: Bourbon is usually made. It's there's a it's a corn ratio.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: It's like fifty one percent corn mash. Yes, that has
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: to be yeah, fifty minimum it and it has to
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: be aged in a certain kind of barrel, and it
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: has theoretically for the longest time, it had to be
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: barreled bonded in Kentucky. I think that's changed a little
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: bit now though.
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: Now it's just it's broad into the United States. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: So it is bourbon, it's a subset of whiskey. It's
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: a type of whiskey.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: So it's an American invention. Burbon example, yes, examp, have
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: you had a soda lately? Uh, like a doctor pepper?
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Yeah there, but you could also say pepsi er coke
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: or mountain do or anything right. True.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: But they're also does, aren't they? Okay, same thing. It's
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: a look, they're all soft drinks. It's the same thing.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: They're just different flavors. Scotch is actually it's obviously made
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: in Scotland. But the difference in Scotch is it's the
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: where they age it. It's pete smoked.
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: I was gonna say that that is that's you.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: You have to like that pead taste, Yeah, you do have,
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: and some of them have it, like Logo Voolins. Skosh
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: whiskey is very peaty, but like they are whiskeys like
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: Dalwinni that are also very light and almost kind of fruity.
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: But there's scotches as well. There is a tiny bit
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: of the smoke, but that isn't the primary flavor in
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: the whiskey. Rise are a little bit more raw, like
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: when you drink a rye whiskey. They're a little bit
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: more hot on the palate. Not hot heat, but hot
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: spice on the palate. Canadian whiskeys, I don't really drink
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: Canadian whiskey. See yeah, yeah.
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: The and with bourbon, they're supposed to have no added
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: coloring or flavor, nothing like that.
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: It's like ingredients water. Yeah.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: So while whiskey is really old and has been made
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: in lots of other places all over the world, bourbon is.
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: The US thing that's primarily connected to Kentucky. Okay, I'll
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: give you, I'll give you a little It is a
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: little trivia.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: Are you ready? What country is becoming extremely popular with
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: their whiskey, and it's it's becoming some of the mo
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: demanded whiskey in the US.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna go to a limb because I
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: think I remember hearing this a while ago. Japan.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Japan is the answer guests just out of the yeah,
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: with sake and everything. But if you want, I'll give
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: you everybody a heads up. I don't like giving up
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: free plucks because we're in business for you to pay
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: for suff right, that's the idea. But there's a place
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: called Sushi Pop. Sushi Pop out in out in Ovido.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: There's one out there right off of redbut Road.
- 1:25:27Speaker 21: Uh.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: Sushi Pop has a wonderful selection of Japanese whiskey. Really
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: like one of the best in the city that I've seen.
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: Not to mention, their bartenders make some of the coolest
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: whiskey cocktails out there. The food is amazing as well,
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: a little bit expensive these days, but still it's a
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: wonderful experience. We love them. It was one of my
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: wife and I stomps when we lived out in that area,
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: and one of their whiskey cocktails is a must. They're delicious.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: It's so funny you say that because one of the
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: wedding gifts that Chris and I received was actually from
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: Joshua at Pisces Rising, who bought us the most beautiful
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: set of Japanese whiskey glass Yeah.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: Man, cool, they are so beautiful, it's legit. Even old
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: schools like the US whiskey guys will tell you that
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: some of that Japanese whiskey is some of the best
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: they've had. The characteristics are way different than you would
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: get in the US, and I find them to be
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: a little bit lighter than US whiskeys, that a little
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: bit that lean on more caramel kind of characteristics.
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: If it's anything like these glasses, it's got to be
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: absolutely delicious.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: Good man, and we appreciate those guys. We're hopping on board.
- 1:26:31Speaker 9: You know.
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: No, I don't want to sound stupid, but it really
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: is one of those things where you can't figure out.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Well, you don't you don't know what you don't know,
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: don't know until you learn.
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: And that's why with our whiskey the week, I really
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: want to learn how to discern between the different you know, yeah, exactly,
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: just like when he talks about cigars, leathery and mouthfee.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: But once you learn and once you get the idea
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: of tasting one of those things, that stuff will be prominent.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: Like you, that will be the first thing you notice
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: once you kind of unlock that code to yourself, like
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: when you start drinking whiskey or have a nice cigar
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: or you know, anything like that, those nuances in that
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: flavor will come out. I find that gin has a
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: lot of personal characteristics as well. Oh yeah, and those
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: companies differ greatly from one distiller to the next. I've
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: never had well, I've had drinks with gin in it,
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: but I've never ordered a gin with a squeezele lemon buddy.
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Let me tell you that is a that is a
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: summer staple in my place.
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: I've always heard that gin was kind of tasted like turpentine,
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: was always the reputation i'd heard. But then I used
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: to drink gin and tonics with Bombay sapphire where you
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: could really taste the juniper berries.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: Man, And someone had texted us earlier at seven seven
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: zero three one with a pro tip for drink drinking whiskey. Okay,
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: for the first sip, take the smallest sip possible. Okay,
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: keep it in your mouth and wash it around inside
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: your mouth like mouth wash. Okay, after thirty seconds or
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: twenty seconds, swallow, wait ten seconds and take the next sip.
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: That sip will produce all of the unique flavor of
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: that bourbon without the burns.
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: I find doing that at first, Like if you if
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: you were watching the camera a minute ago, you would
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: have seen me do it. Like you bring in a
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: little bit and then get it on your palate and
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: then use your tongue on the top of your palate
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: to pull down.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: Like that.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: Keep talking.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: And keep talking, and it errates that and it gives
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: you another opportunity. You want it in your sinuses. That's
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: really where you start kind of getting the you really
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: want it inundating your sinuses, and then your taste buds
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: will work in hand hand and handle your sinuses to
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: kind of pull those flavors out of there.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: It's interesting though, that for bourbon tasting you swallow, but
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: for wine tasting you spit.
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: Yeah, because they taste a lot of it. Okay, Oh,
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: by the way, I picked the porn today is gonna
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: murder you. Just give you a I'm giving you a
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: little heads up before we do that. I do have
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: a question.
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: Yeah, go ahead, I had to run some errands today
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: and I was in the store and IW and the
- 1:28:53Speaker 4: thought occurred to me, do you think people with autism
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: or uh, let's say just neuro divergent purple people. Neuro
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: divergent people should have, like if their employees should have
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: like a specific color name tag to kind of let
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: people know.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: Oh, so that if you're interacting with somebody, you should
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: use Target. Like if you're in a Target and you're
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: trying to interact with somebody that works in one of
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: the departments at Target and they're not like, they're not
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: giving you that normal interaction. Yeah, what you're saying is
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: is you would perceive that person being rude, but in reality,
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: they're just kind of neurodivergent and they don't really understand that.
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: And you would like a name tag of a certain
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: color to let people know exactly what I went through today?
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: Oh really, because I had an experience where I work
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: and I asked for something and and they went and
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: got it and came back. But the interaction was just
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: so cold, right, And if it was just a standard employee,
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: I'd be on customer service. I mean, they met my needs,
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: but the personality was zero flatline, there was no pleasure. However,
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: if I'm all for autistic and neurodivergent people being in
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: the workforce, I love that. And if they are, then
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: I am happy that they're working. Yet you know, not
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: ask any questions, and then the experience is different because
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: I just feel different. I'm like, well, either you're a
- 1:30:18Speaker 4: weak employee or you're a great employee, and I don't know.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: So I want a colored name tag so I know
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: how to judge that.
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: I think that's fair because what it does, well, what
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: it does is a puzzle take, just like at Disney
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: when they when you're a cast member at Disney, your
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: first original name take would say what your hometown is,
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: right exactly, you know, so everybody would know where you
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: were from. You could put the little puzzle thing on there,
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: and I think while people were like, well no, because
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: then that separates them or but it also reduces the
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: opportunity for confrontation or someone going to customer service and
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: complaining it because if you'd seen the puzzle piece for
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: those who don't know, the puzzle with the multicolors is
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: the symbol for autism. Now you'd be like, oh, thank
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: you so much much, young man. I appreciate your efforts
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: rather than like.
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: Yeah, can I ask a question that may come up
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: a little insensitive?
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: It won't be.
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: That's why we're here because I do not know this,
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: and I know that if anybody would, you would probably
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: know this because you have family members that deal with this.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: Do they know? In other words, like if you were
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: to give a person in the store this puzzle name tag,
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: would they know what that means?
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: Most likely if they're helding down a job.
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: If you are functioning, high functionitting, or I believe they
- 1:31:32Speaker 4: now call level one.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: Never heard that one.
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: It's a new one.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: It's it's yeah, high functioning sounds better, give me your heads.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: Up, but high functioning also yeah, well.
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: It also tells people who are not high functioning. I
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: think there may be a negative side to that. Okay,
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: so you know it's it's it's always changing.
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:31:51Speaker 4: With level one autistic person, I think if you are
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: aware enough to be interacting and working.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: Probably don't need it, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: you know, you know.
- 1:32:00Speaker 9: You have it.
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: The problem is your customers don't, right, And in a
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: customer based business, I think everyone should be on a
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: level playing field. It gives that employee the best employment
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: experience possible because they're not being confronted all the time
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: with people thinking that they just have an attitude problem.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: Because that only creates more stress for them. In the
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: long run, it's harder for them to do their job.
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: The weird thing is is like we have on our
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: first floor. What you guys know the name of it?
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: I do know, non Parerill And what does that mean?
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: I really don't know.
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: It's my favorite movie Candy growing up. It's chocolate with
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: the little white dots on it.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: It is that these are. But yeah, there is a
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: business that deals with people neurodivergent people. I do not
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: know what service they offer, but they're in our lobby
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: all the time. I believe it.
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: It's basically a job search place for people or a
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: training center for people with autism.
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: Okay, so the support center, job training, job placement.
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: So I had an experience the other day like this
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: like Jack was having, but mine was like I was
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: coming into the building and there's a bench right in
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: front of the doors that come into the building. As
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: I approached the building, I had my backpack with me
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: and I was carrying something else I can't remember what
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: it was, And the young man that was sitting on
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: the bench got up and opened the door for me,
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: and I was like, wow, that's really sweet. And I
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: looked at him and as I'm walking through, I said thanks,
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: thanks a ton, buddy, And not only did he not
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: say anything back, he would not make eye contact, like
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: he looked away, and I said thanks a lot, man.
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: And when I walked through, I was like, what a dick.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: And then I thought to myself, oh, he's you know,
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: he's one of the gentlemen or young young men who
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: were leaning on that service. And I didn't say anything.
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: Of course, it just dawned on me for a second.
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: It took me about a nanosecond to figure out he
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: wasn't being an ass. He was just he could not
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: make eye contact. Does not understand any of that. But
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: only you could jump that quick to him being an
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: ass for someone who got up off their chair to
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: open the door for you, such you were gonna come
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: out the winter. I thought I was gonna give out
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: the winter reminded. So I had this experience today.
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: I get to work, Jimmy, walking to the I am
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: twenty feet from the door and I see the person
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: in front. I'm like, oh, I bet they're going to
- 1:34:14Speaker 4: that non Parella Institute. They held the door open, looked
- 1:34:17Speaker 4: and held it for me. I'm like twenty feet away,
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: so I start quick stepping to get there, and I
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: said thank you very much. No response, but I just
- 1:34:25Speaker 4: I said thank you very much.
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: I wanted And of.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: Course it's going to be controversial. You can already see
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: it on our texting service seven to seven zero. Oh yeah,
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: someone said, it's like putting the teal pumpkins out at Halloween.
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: Is that I believe that lets people know? Is it
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: antiso or is that a peanut allergies?
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: Oh? That's okay, because I know that some people put
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: certain lights in their house. Yes, like that your your
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: porch light give me a certain color for certain things. Yes,
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: you know, like if you have a red porch light,
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: you're into watching.
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: But a lot of people are saying now, some people
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: said the puzzle the puzzle piece name tag would protect
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: these employees from Karen's and Jim. But a lot of
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: other people say, yeah, badging others is a good idea
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: and sounds familiar. When did that happen last Yeah, speaking
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: of the stars of day.
- 1:35:14Speaker 4: But they're not trying to round them up and cook
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: them instead. We are trying to make sure we are
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: extra sensitive to their needs exactly that way.
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: People understand how to that when they do when they're
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: when they're neuro divergent, whatever that is, kicks in that
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: they don't think they're being rude and that they understand
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: that they they have limited communication skills.
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and it doesn't kick in neurodiversion just means they're
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: just wired completely different from you and I. So eye
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: contact you and I is an essential part of communication
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: to to most on the neurodiversient scene, that's uncomfortable, almost
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: feels confrontational.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: And jack And.
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: Sometimes it's like I almost I was going to make
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: a joke with this person because I saw them doing
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: some that was strange, and then I thought, well, either
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: that is something strange or that is something that they
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: just do. It could be a comforting a stemming technique
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: that they do for comfort, and I wouldn't want to
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: point that out, you know.
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: So therefore flapping of the hand, Yeah, he had this.
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: I still think it was part of the job.
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: He had this like little trigger gun and he was
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: waving it against the wall like ah, But I think
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: what he was I think it might be a way
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: to take inventory on stock or I don't know.
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: I've never seen it before and I was wondering is
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: and you can't ask no. You can't ask no because
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: he didn't have a supposed to be named him Jack again,
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: you were correct.
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: The Teal Pumpkin Project is a national initiative by fair
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: the Food Allergy Research and Education, and it was to
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: let a household offer safe non food treats like stickers,
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: glow sticks, or bubbles for kids who have food allergies,
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: so then you don't have toorry about them getting a
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: Snickers bar anaplectic shot.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, wow. Interesting. So I don't have the texting
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: service today because the screen is down so it's lit
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: up like people are going crazy for this, and you
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: got it.
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: That would drive me crazy not to have the texting service.
- 1:37:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: Well, folks, if you want to say anything about Jimmy
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: dowit how he can not see it but I can.
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: I'm sure Jack will relate and don't worry about that,
- 1:37:21Speaker 2: all right, bour seven nine six one four one. You
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: can always text us at seven seven zero three to one.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: You know what to do. Let them up. It's time
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: for pick the porn we'll do that next.
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on.
- 1:37:31Speaker 18: I just I'm talking in with you guys. I haven't
- 1:37:35Speaker 18: been able to listen much this week. But no, it's
- 1:37:37Speaker 18: level one minds and high performance and those tal pumpkins.
- 1:37:43Speaker 18: Did anybody ever put a toal pumpkin on on Halloween?
- 1:37:46Speaker 18: I can barely get to carving an orange pumpkin and
- 1:37:51Speaker 18: red lights? Yeah, I actually have one, and now.
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: I'm a boyer.
- 1:37:56Speaker 20: I don't.
- 1:37:57Speaker 18: I'm mortified, as are we.
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: So welcome back. Yeah, welcome back, all right? Four seven
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: nine one text us at seven seven zero three one.

- 1:38:12Speaker 4: Two. Jack is here as well. Thank you for all
- 1:38:14Speaker 4: your texts about Jim. And he has a Jackie Zack.
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: What's in there? Olive art? Chuck it, chuck it too,
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: look at it, glack at a gleck. Okay, we have
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: a pair of tickets. This is a concert. This is
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: a pretty cool concert.
- 1:38:27Speaker 15: Uh.
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: It's happening next Wednesday at the Mid Florida Credit Union
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: Amphitheater July fifteenth, right across the street there from the
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: Old hard Rock Hotel. It's a pair of tickets to
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: see Chicago and Sticks No way, how about that?
- 1:38:41Speaker 7: Right?
- 1:38:41Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: That's it is gonna be like three hours of every

- 1:40:34Speaker 2: All right, Here we go Number one trailer Trout. Number two,
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: Nookie Cookie, There you go, Number number three, the House
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: on Horny Hill, or lastly, the wad Squad. Which of those?
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: What'd you say?
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: Number one?
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: Number one trailer trout? No, I'm sorry, that is an
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: actual way adult. Oh god, let me just say this.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: Uh where I go to find these names has a
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: tab called trailer trash? Really, and I warn you don't go.
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: Don't go there? All right?
- 1:41:21Speaker 15: Two?
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: Three, four, or five? Let's go to two? Is Jake?
- 1:41:25Speaker 20: Jake?
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: How you doing? Hey good? I'm going doing good, buddy.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: Let's play a little pick the porn here. All you
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: have to do is find the faky number one, nookie Cookie,
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: number two, the House on Horny Hill, or lastly, the
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: wad Squad. Nookie Cookie is the answer. You're nookie cookie
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: is not an actual adult it is a naked one
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: because the actual film is called Rookie Cookie. Oh Rookie Yeah,
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: so I just put nookie Cookie there and tried to
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: fool him. This guy can't sniff right through it. Jake
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: knows his porn, yeah he does.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: Don't say something.
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: The House on Horny Hill is an actual one. It's
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: like a you don't really seem any scary adult films,
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: Like they don't really try to use that.
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: They ever checked out elderly porn? Yeah no, The only
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: thing they do is like like they love vampire porn.
- 1:42:14Speaker 3: Like vampire porn is like its own thing. I would
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: imagine after the whole Twilight thing.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: Tons of erotica in the Empire. Oh yeah, true blood.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: But you don't get it for much of the other
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: but House on Horny Hill, And of course I'm not
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: even saying the other one.
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: Again, which one?
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: The one's gone? No, you gotta describe what was the cover?
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: Like two d's by the way, Oh god, you can't know.
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: That's not a good one. We're not going to explain
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: that one. No, we're not someone that did not make
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: the list before we get to the top of the
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: hour here is don't tell us that's what you sound like.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: Mine's more like, I'm sorry, that's mine. That's what I
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: whisper in our air. So sorry, we'll try again later.
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: I'll go put out the cat smears. It's not as
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: bad as it sounds that they play on cheers. Oh,
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: it's as bad as it's Let's just say norm does
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: not look like norms. Nothing normal about that guy. Be okay. Yeah.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: And then last one, there was field of breams. That
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: one's self explanatory, and there are some bats in there.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: We gave your heads up. It doesn't fly, but the
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: small end that you hold right, A lot of homers
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: that one, a lot of in the park homers. Oh,
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: field of breams, Oh yeah, you know, if you build
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: it four oh seven nine six one four one text
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: us at seven seven zero three one.
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: Field of dreams sounds.
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: I feel like I lose a day of life writing
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: that every week. I feel like it takes life from me.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: Writing it.
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: I'm kudos to you though with the nookie cookie, because
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: I really thought the House on on Horny Ill was
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: the made up one.
- 1:44:17Speaker 4: But for every day of life you lose, you give
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: one the deb because they say laughter.
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: One another. Yeah, I will tell you it's funny. Like
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: you know, the website I use has tabs right and
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: tells you the categories or whatever, and it's so interesting.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: It really is a study in human behavior. It really is.
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: Doesn't it make you a little Steve doubts to be
- 1:44:37Speaker 3: part of the human race?
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: But all jokes aside, this is the interesting part.
- 1:44:41Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: So one of the tabs is movies that are directed
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: and written by women. Yes, right, So there's also a
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: tab called Gonzo self explanatory. Right, So when you go
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: and look for titles in the Gonzo thing, I mean,
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: it's the worst stuff you could ever even write, much
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: less see it's terrible, right, it's really, yeah, it's terrible.
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: Right that when you go to the women produce ones,
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: it's uh, it's it's like this love and lust, right,
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: It's like Pamela's dream.
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: You mean, it's taken the cover off every Harlequin book
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: that your mother or sister ever had while growing up.
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: Dude, the covers are different. They don't use any graphic
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: language at all. They don't show anything on the covers.
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: It's all about romance and passion and stuff. The dudes,
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: the ones they do.
- 1:45:28Speaker 9: It is not.
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: It is not about any of that. I mean, it
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: is about none of that, dude, none. There is not
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: even a hint of romance. It is like deb does
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: this and this is not good. Well yeah, alright, for
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: it sounds on how you define good. One back in
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: a second with more of the Jim Colbert Show show.
- 1:45:55Speaker 7: You're listening to the Jim Kolbert show.
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: Them piet of porn.
- 1:46:06Speaker 7: You see.
- 1:46:07Speaker 6: All I think of is I want to suck your boom.
- 1:46:12Speaker 6: I've got a weird fetish.
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: But I did not What is that? What happened?
- 1:46:25Speaker 19: What?
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: What?
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: What's happening? What's going on? Not even sure? Yeah, I
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: have no contact, but I'll play it again. Oh wait
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: a night, I have to turn it on if I'm
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: gonna play it again. Here you go? Super what superstar?
- 1:46:47Speaker 22: Oh?
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: Superstar? That little cannon? All right, welcome back to the
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: Jim Cober Show. We're already one o four point one.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: I'm Jim there dead Jack is here.
- 1:46:54Speaker 20: Yep.
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: Eight bit update coming up in a second. I was
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: texting with Jayden today or emailing with Jade today, and
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: I'm like, dude, there is some drama up in nerd world.
- 1:47:04Speaker 7: Dude.
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, this thing, this announcement that they made
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: earlier this week has absolutely walloped gamers. Who it is.
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: I'm really interested to see his like attitude today, Yeah,
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: because I mean he was already kind of fired up
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: last week and they just threw a whole bunch of
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: kerosene on that nerd fire.
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: It's making me rethink. Yeah, so we'll be talking about that. Yeah,
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: that's a drama.
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: So interestingly enough, we've talked about World Cup and a
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: little bit and some of the social remigations of the
- 1:47:34Speaker 2: World Cup. I mean, soccer is what it is. By
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: the way. One of the other things I found out
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: today about what Europeans don't like about America is they
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: can't stand the fact that we call it soccer. They
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: you know, they they want to call it football, but
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: unfortunately we have something that's way more popular than soccer
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: and America called football, so they win.
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: I recently learned that something that's very interesting soccer is
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: actually first coined in England. Was it really Yes, it was,
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: and then they got rid of it and adopted football.
- 1:48:03Speaker 3: So when you go back and realize you guys started this,
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: oh really.
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: Well, we have found something else about a soccer fans
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: as they come to America to enjoy watching their teams
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: and chair their teams on they're of course enjoying our culture,
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: our food. And I don't know about you guys, but
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: I've said this on the air a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: I don't know why I have this incredible pride in
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: America for when Europeans come over and enjoy our food,
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: our culture, our music and things like that. I think
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: it's really amazing because again, like they've said one hundred times,
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: if you watch anything about America on our media, you'd
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: think it was one of the most dangerous, worst places
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: in the world. You come over here and you realize
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: it's nothing like what we hear in the media. Like,
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: the people are really nice, they're welcoming, they're polite, the
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: food is amazing. It's just everything about it has been
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: very positive. I take great pride in that.
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and there's usually a lot of stories about Americans
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: abroad that aren't very flattery.
- 1:48:59Speaker 3: Exactly, kind of let your hair down when you when
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: you think you're not being you know, noticed or whatever.
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: My favorite is still the the World Cup fan who said, oh,
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: I get it. The World Cup is like the big
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: sleepover we never get to have because our parents hate
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: each other. It's all the cousins that finally get together
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: and hang out with each other and realize it's the
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: leaders that are fighting. It's not the people people down.
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: But the one thing that they did say today, this
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: article I found found as funny is there's one thing
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: in America that they are falling crazy in love with.
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: Oh that's not what I was thinking. Ye yeah, I
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: mean no, well, we know it's ranch dressing.
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: No, it's it's not a thing that you can hold
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: in your hand, per se. Oh freedom, it's a smell.
- 1:49:44Speaker 2: They have fallen completely head over heels in love with
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: our roads. Oh oh no, baseball. Really, they have absolutely
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: fallen in love with baseball. It's been around, yeah, but
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: it's not there. That's right there, there's a baseball in Europe.
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and we don't. We send them our football, but
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: we don't send them our baseball. That may be I'll
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: bet you the MLB is saying, wait, what was that?
- 1:50:09Speaker 8: What did you just say?
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: It says that, man, these in Japan, these guys have
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: been piling up at baseball stadiums and straight up taking
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: over like they love baseball. And this great article from
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: y'all Who Sports Today just talks about how the World
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: Cup fans have been attending games as the cities they're in,
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: whether it be Atlanta, Boston, you know, going to Red
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: Sox games, going to Braves games, going to Giants games,
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: going to uh, you know, Astros games or whatever where
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: they in Dallas or Houston over there in Texas, San Antonio.
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: I forget where it is Houston. So so it's just
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: kind of cool hearing them as well, you kind of
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: get that part of our life and that part of
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: our culture as well. That is because it's our national pastime, right.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: It's because it's difficult to fall in love with sports,
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: you don't know, right tried watching cricket. Cricket to me,
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: just looks like it when you wear an all white
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: uniform and the only spot that gets dirty is that
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: spot near your crotch where you're constantly rolling the ball.
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: That looks more like a perversion than athleticism. Yeah, sorry
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: to all the cricket lovers out there, but I'm surprised
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: that they would fall in love with it, because if
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: you don't know it, it can be hard to embrace it.
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: And by the way, the teams are leaning into this.
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: Red Sox actually hosted a Scottish heritage celebration on June
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: fourteenth against the Rangers. Five thousand members of the Tartan
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: Army showed up for the game.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: Yeah, that's when they drank them out of beer. Boston
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: had to make emergency.
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: There were only thirty two thousand people of the game,
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: so Scottish fans represented a large portion of the entire
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: audience for that Red Sox game last night that night.
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: So I just think that's kind of cool. I read
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: that this morning, was like, damn, that's awesome. That is
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: really cool. Yeah all right, four oh seven nine text
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: seven to seven zero three one. You guys know I
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: love to thrift. Yes, yes, wife was out thrifting today
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: actually with a friend of hers after a hair appointment.
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: We love doing it, right, love it.
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: What I can only imagine the amount that caught what
- 1:51:59Speaker 4: the hair appointment. But what you say, you can buy
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: the store with what her hair costs. Yeah, there isn't
- 1:52:06Speaker 4: enough good will to buy what she pays. But a
- 1:52:09Speaker 4: North Carolina woman said she thought she snagged an eye
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: catching wallet at a bargain price from her local thrift store,
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: but she found something inside. She was a little shaky
- 1:52:17Speaker 4: about it, but it was kind of funny she found
- 1:52:20Speaker 4: as she was rolling through there, and it shows like
- 1:52:23Speaker 4: the you know, the picture of it. It says one
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: of the biggest appeals of thrifting is nostalgia. I would
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: kind of agree with that, even if you don't buy
- 1:52:29Speaker 4: anything to the store, when you're rolling through the stores
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: and you see old stuff from your childhood, like you
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: know little uh nick knacked your grandma used to have,
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: or picture frames, or you know, even some of the
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: k the kitchen accoutrema that your grandma would use, like
- 1:52:43Speaker 4: cookie jars then from back in the past. Remember the
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: mushroom cookie jars? Oh god, yeah, that everybody had her
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: the mushroom. It was like your sugar flour, like that
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: was a very popular thing. The big spoons and the
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: big forest.
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: Oh please let those ever come back.
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: Like everybody had that. She said, she finds this wallet,
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: starts ripping through it and she noticed a folded piece
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: of paper, and when she zipped it back and she
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: looked at it, she said, wow, this piece of paper
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: has a little plastic baggy in there with some white
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: powder in it.
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: Jackie, sound upset, She said.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: I pulled out the folded paper and realized there was
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: something else behind it. There's the there's the image. What
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: does that look like?
- 1:53:25Speaker 3: Booger sugar?
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: It says the guy who's never seen coke I watched TV.
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: She immediately calls her husband. She finds out. You know,
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: She goes, man, I don't know what this is, but
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: it does not look good.
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: He says, Honey, rubs them on your gums and tell
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: me how you feel.
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: And then it said on there it wrote one word
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: on it, Disney. Why would a little pouch of white
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: powder have the word Disney written on it.
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: It would have to be something that maybe someone scooped
- 1:54:01Speaker 3: up as a That was.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: One of the theories that somebody took some sand or
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: something like that from a Disney park as a memento.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: It's tinker Bell's ferry.
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: Does I guess that could be it too.
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: It's someone's ashes that were meant to be spread at
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: Disney and they put them in the wallet and then
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: forgot the person's ashes.
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: Honey, this doesn't it doesn't tingle. It tastes a little ashy.
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: This coke is not making me have good business ideas. Yeah,
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: so somebody turned this wallet in and stuck back in.
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: One of the compartments of the wallet was a piece
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: of folded paper. I'm sure somebody at at a first
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: glance just said, it's just a piece of paper, just
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: give it away. Right in that paper was a little
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: plastic bag that had the word Disney written on it.
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: And what they kind of they ascertained was is the
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: the product in the envelope was a piece of the
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: ashes of the husband of the woman who donated the
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: wallet was a giganic Disney fan and wanted his ashes
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: distributed in the park.
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: And his wife is getting some nocturnal visits from her
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: husband going.
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: Hey, you still got that wall And it's wild because
- 1:55:10Speaker 2: it is a tiny bit, I mean it is. It
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: wouldn't even be like half a tea spoon.
- 1:55:15Speaker 4: Well, it's the amount you can probably easily get away
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: with it, because it's illegal just to dump people's ashes
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: are in the park.
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: Don't they have a code word for.
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: That I believe they do, especially like at the Haunted Mansion,
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: which is one of the more popular attractions we'd ever had,
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: that at the Great Movie Ride that I ever knew of.
- 1:55:32Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, how do you know it's ash? How do
- 1:55:36Speaker 4: they find out it's ash itself? I mean the consistency
- 1:55:39Speaker 4: of it? They I mean they kind of they kind
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: of dealt with that before, you know, by comparison. No,
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: I haven't, but they said that that they know for
- 1:55:48Speaker 4: a fact. They they wanted to return to the thrift store,
- 1:55:51Speaker 4: try to find out who the owner was, and if possible,
- 1:55:53Speaker 4: they want to get it back to its original owner,
- 1:55:55Speaker 4: if it is someone's loved one.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: And that's exactly what they think it is. Wow, So
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: they're gonna take a They're going to take a lot
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: closer to look at the something to buy it thrift stores.
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: I had a friend that bought a person a thrift
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: store and it had a little secret zipper compartment in it,
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: and they left a gold eighteen carrot gold bracelet in there.
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: You could start your own jewelry store with that. Yeah,
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: I know a guy. Yeah, but they did. They found out,
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: like she found this crazy bracelet and why don't I
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: make a good money of it.
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: Well, I mean that's why. Not only do you need
- 1:56:25Speaker 3: to check the things you buy when you're thrifting, you
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: need to check the things that you're giving away.
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: So another thing too. I'll give you another heads up
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: for people out there, because I've never found one, but
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: I know it has there are stories of people finding them.
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: So have you guys ever heard of Is it a
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: book safe? Yes, yeah, it's okay. It looks like a
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: book and you open it up and there it's Yeah,
- 1:56:44Speaker 2: it's a book safe. So it looks just like a book,
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: but it actually is hollowed out in the middle and
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: it's built like that. It's not like a homemade thing,
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: and it's actually built to put on your bookshelf and
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: hide valuables, money, whatever the case may be. Wow, that's
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: a pretty big bible you got there.
- 1:56:58Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: Well they could have ultiple of them, and this guy
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: bought and that's this is a big thing. By the way,
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: one of the things that nobody talks about in the
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: thrifting world is paper. And you know, in the thrifting
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: in the in the collector's world, paper means you know,
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: first edition books. Yeah, And one of the places that
- 1:57:15Speaker 2: has been an absolute boon for this is thrift stores
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: and collector stores, because a lot of times, you know,
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: whereas it's easy to see a watch or a piece
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: of you know, bear of shoes, or a garment that
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: has a name that you can recognize immediately any of
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: the fashion houses you know, you know Dior, you know Prada,
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: you know those names. But what you don't know is
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: is that a first edition of any Emily Dickinson book
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: is worth tens of thousands of dollars. Yeah, and they
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: are littered all throughout the US. So when these people,
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: when older people pass and their homes are opened up
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: to estate sales, from what I understand is that's one
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: of the things that really isn't researched well by the
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: people who build those prices. And I've seen dudes go
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: into thrift stores and to a state and they will literally,
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: one by one pull every single book and there could
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: be hundreds of them off the shelves looking for either
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: first editions or these bank books.
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: Wow, okay, now how about that?
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: Huh?
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: And someone just texted us at seven seven zero three
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: when I worked at Haunted Mansion for over twelve years,
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: and yes, we had to close to get it cleaned up.
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I think there's a code they call out if
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: they see somebody sure to do.
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: That, because there's a code for vomiting. There's a code
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: for it.
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: No, there is. Yeah, protein spell happened to my daughter
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: at any restaurant.
- 1:58:30Speaker 4: Really and they call it a protein spell and we
- 1:58:32Speaker 4: had a protein spell.
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. That's great.
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: Also, someone said they installed plexiglass in the dining room
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: seene at Haunted Mansion because people kept dumping their ashes there.
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: Oh wow, dude, that is crazy. Not at the hall President.

- 2:03:28Speaker 2: The madness is upon us. I yes, we miss one
- 2:03:31Speaker 2: week and so much has happened. Holy ass, dude, I
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: mean the place is coming glued. Dude.
- 2:03:36Speaker 22: Yeah, I mean both of these companies, PlayStation, Xbox just
- 2:03:40Speaker 22: drowning themselves. It is going on stupidity, Jimmy stupidity is
- 2:03:45Speaker 22: what's happening?
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: Money? This money This news started breaking like earlier this week,
- 2:03:49Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, Jaden is gonna lose his mind?
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: And then it just kept coming. Xbox got in there,
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: PlayStation got in there, like people are losing their runner,
- 2:03:55Speaker 2: Like what none of this I have to go, Oh man,
- 2:03:58Speaker 2: it's crazy. Spell all this out for? So what's really
- 2:04:00Speaker 2: going on out there? All right?
- 2:04:01Speaker 22: So it all starts off with this. I briefly mentioned
- 2:04:03Speaker 22: this last time I was on the show. I briefly
- 2:04:05Speaker 22: told you guys about Sony getting rid of a bunch
- 2:04:07Speaker 22: of movies off the PlayStation Network. It's some two hundred
- 2:04:10Speaker 22: plus movies, insane.
- 2:04:12Speaker 2: What does that mean? That means Sony's stealing your money?
- 2:04:15Speaker 22: And now now they want to get rid of physical
- 2:04:19Speaker 22: media all together, right, not just taking movies off your
- 2:04:22Speaker 22: Sony PlayStation account, off the PSN. They want to get
- 2:04:26Speaker 22: rid of physical media all together. No more video games physically.
- 2:04:31Speaker 22: These PlayStations aren't even going to have distrays in the future.
- 2:04:34Speaker 22: You're getting rid of this completely. By January first, twenty
- 2:04:37Speaker 22: twenty eight, PlayStation will not have a single disc you
- 2:04:41Speaker 22: can play.
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: And I also heard this by twenty twenty eight. If
- 2:04:44Speaker 2: you don't, if you haven't played a game on your PlayStation,
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: and there's a certain amount of time I can't remember
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: how long it is, that they will go into your
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: disc and delete your games. What is that true? Yes,
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: this is insane. This is like what what are these
- 2:04:59Speaker 2: people doing? This says I don't even know how to
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: fathom this.
- 2:05:02Speaker 22: I don't know how you can look at your business,
- 2:05:05Speaker 22: your multi billion dollar business, and be like, Yeah, this
- 2:05:08Speaker 22: is gould be a good idea.
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: I think everyone's gonna love this. I will be a
- 2:05:13Speaker 2: little facetious here. I know you said that jokingly, but
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: in reality, I haven't heard or read one paragraph of
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: anybody around this industry that has agreed with this or
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: thinks this is a good idea. Everybody's kind of freaking out.
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: So everybody's kind of thinking there's a much bigger plan
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: that's gonna be released or told about, like next year
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: or something. I mean, have you heard anything like that.
- 2:05:35Speaker 22: I haven't heard about any massive plan. Here's what I
- 2:05:39Speaker 22: don't understand. All right, you buy all when I say
- 2:05:43Speaker 22: they're stealing money from you, You put your card on
- 2:05:45Speaker 22: your PSN. You know you put your card in your PlayStation.
- 2:05:48Speaker 22: You buy all these things. When you buy them, you
- 2:05:50Speaker 22: don't own these things. They are they're not yours. You're
- 2:05:53Speaker 22: leasing it. Yes, you are basically going to a red
- 2:05:55Speaker 22: box rip red box and renting a video game. That
- 2:05:58Speaker 22: is what you're doing at this point for a full price.
- 2:06:01Speaker 22: These games cost eighty dollars, one hundred dollars. You always mention, oh,
- 2:06:04Speaker 22: you know, you get so much playtime out of this,
- 2:06:07Speaker 22: it's worth the money. I ain't paying nothing to Sony anymore.
- 2:06:10Speaker 22: I was so excited for all these exclusives, and if
- 2:06:13Speaker 22: you're not gonna give me physical media, I'm not buying.
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: So are they just basically trying to push everybody to
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: PC gaming? And then are they gonna release some kind
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: of PC console or something no streaming streaming.
- 2:06:23Speaker 22: Yeah, Sony doesn't want anything to do with the PC.
- 2:06:25Speaker 22: Sony wants everybody to be on a PlayStation.
- 2:06:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:06:27Speaker 2: Think about it.
- 2:06:28Speaker 4: They don't have to spend to produce a physical product.
- 2:06:32Speaker 4: They have the program. They can send it to you
- 2:06:36Speaker 4: for this same price, not lose any money without any
- 2:06:39Speaker 4: of the production costs of developing all these games.
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: The artworth the ship. They get rid of all of that.
- 2:06:46Speaker 4: If this is the only way for you to play,
- 2:06:48Speaker 4: because they're betting on, you're still gonna do it. And
- 2:06:52Speaker 4: that's what every article I read said that people are
- 2:06:54Speaker 4: gonna be mad, but gamers are addicts and they're gonna
- 2:06:57Speaker 4: still wind up doing this.
- 2:06:58Speaker 22: Oh absolutely, they are still going to pay for them
- 2:07:00Speaker 22: these video games. I'm not I won't even buy it.
- 2:07:02Speaker 22: I won't buy the next PlayStation console. If no, I
- 2:07:04Speaker 22: will not if it doesn't have a disc tray and
- 2:07:06Speaker 22: I can't get a disc, I am not paying for it.
- 2:07:08Speaker 2: You're not gonna get it them because I'm telling you
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: straight up that that is exactly what they're doing. No
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: physical digital or media or no no physical media at all.
- 2:07:16Speaker 4: But how far you think Xbox is not far behind this?
- 2:07:19Speaker 4: Once they sit the standard, they're like, oh, we can
- 2:07:21Speaker 4: get away with it. They've already primed the pump because
- 2:07:24Speaker 4: they released two Xboxes, Series X that has a distray
- 2:07:28Speaker 4: and Jimmy, the one you have Series X is streaming only,
- 2:07:31Speaker 4: so they already have a console that's built for this.
- 2:07:35Speaker 4: They the next and can the next level of gaming.
- 2:07:40Speaker 4: I have a feeling we won't see any discs for
- 2:07:43Speaker 4: Xbox as well.
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: And Xbox.
- 2:07:44Speaker 5: I don't know, that's just a thought. Xbox had massive
- 2:07:47Speaker 5: news because of layoffs. Yeah, there was so many layoffs
- 2:07:50Speaker 5: at Xbox, three.
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: Two hundred people, thirty two hundred jobs.
- 2:07:54Speaker 22: That they they that there's gonna be four thousand, it's
- 2:07:57Speaker 22: gonna get into the four thousand mark initially, So they
- 2:08:00Speaker 22: got rid of Xbox immediately laid off a thousand, six
- 2:08:03Speaker 22: hundred employees. Xbox plans to eliminate roughly three thousand, two
- 2:08:07Speaker 22: hundred more positions. Good Lord of Mercy, I don't understand
- 2:08:10Speaker 22: what these companies are doing. According to Microsoft's leadership, there's
- 2:08:13Speaker 22: multiple factors that led to this profits not really exceeding
- 2:08:18Speaker 22: what they want. Console hardware has become more and more
- 2:08:21Speaker 22: difficult to get. Yeah, I don't really understand what that
- 2:08:23Speaker 22: has to do with Well, I mean, if you look.
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: What's happening with the chip game right now, I think
- 2:08:27Speaker 2: maybe if you're Sonya PlayStation and you look at this,
- 2:08:30Speaker 2: you you're like, wow, man, like our business could be
- 2:08:32Speaker 2: shut down for a component of our product. You know
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Because they're at the whim of the
- 2:08:38Speaker 2: chip companies. Unless you own the chip company, right, you're
- 2:08:41Speaker 2: at the whim of them, and if their price goes up,
- 2:08:43Speaker 2: your price has to go up. And I think maybe
- 2:08:45Speaker 2: there's a possibility they're just sick and tired of not
- 2:08:47Speaker 2: having full control over their business.
- 2:08:49Speaker 4: Well, at least we will be developing more chips here
- 2:08:52Speaker 4: in the States. However, with that prime, with that product
- 2:08:56Speaker 4: cost going up, and that's why they for the first
- 2:08:59Speaker 4: time ever. I mean, you had a game system that
- 2:09:01Speaker 4: came out at one price, and then what three years
- 2:09:04Speaker 4: later they raised the price still instead of going the
- 2:09:07Speaker 4: it usually goes down, but it went up, and I
- 2:09:11Speaker 4: think they're trying to mitigate loss because they didn't anticipate that,
- 2:09:14Speaker 4: y the story, and so that biggest component you have
- 2:09:18Speaker 4: is your head count, your personnel. That's why you always
- 2:09:22Speaker 4: see when in times are tough like this, they lay
- 2:09:24Speaker 4: people off.
- 2:09:25Speaker 2: It says that the NPR story I've read about this
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: as if the gaming industry was facing an uphill battle
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: before soaring hardware costs has turned this into an epic battle.
- 2:09:33Speaker 2: Current layoffs are an unfortunate mix of both internal inefficiencies
- 2:09:37Speaker 2: like you always say, and the apocalyptic degree of hardware
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: price is going up because of the AI frenzy.
- 2:09:43Speaker 22: And here's my theory, with Xbox. Asha the new CEO
- 2:09:47Speaker 22: for Xbox. You want to know her background. I told
- 2:09:49Speaker 22: you guys when she first got the job, she has
- 2:09:51Speaker 22: only worked with AI. She has never been in a
- 2:09:54Speaker 22: video game company. Nothing like that is. She used to
- 2:09:57Speaker 22: be the head of an AI market So her nature
- 2:09:59Speaker 22: is try to bring AI into this world. Yes, which
- 2:10:02Speaker 22: seems like it would be a perfect fit. No, I
- 2:10:04Speaker 22: mean I hate AI, I said, see, seems seems it's
- 2:10:07Speaker 22: just not used in the right ways. This is my
- 2:10:09Speaker 22: tinfoil conspiracy theory that I've crafted within the last day.
- 2:10:14Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:10:15Speaker 22: Oh, yes, when Asha first got this job, I loved her.
- 2:10:18Speaker 22: She did so many things right, and that was just
- 2:10:21Speaker 22: to grip you in. She really grabbed me.
- 2:10:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you're gonna like what I do.
- 2:10:26Speaker 22: And then she six months later she's gonna be like,
- 2:10:29Speaker 22: you know what, We're gonna lay off all these major companies,
- 2:10:33Speaker 22: all these major Xbox studios. And here's where my my
- 2:10:36Speaker 22: tinfoil hat comes on. She used to be ahead of
- 2:10:38Speaker 22: an AI marketing. I guarantee you she is cutting profits
- 2:10:41Speaker 22: with all these studios to have AI start in these
- 2:10:44Speaker 22: gaming studios. I promise you, in the next two years,
- 2:10:47Speaker 22: AI will play a huge role in Microsoft and Xbox future.
- 2:10:50Speaker 2: No human game creation, all done by AI.
- 2:10:53Speaker 22: I don't know if it goes that far. I pray
- 2:10:55Speaker 22: to god it doesn't go that far, but it wouldn't
- 2:10:58Speaker 22: surprise me.
- 2:10:59Speaker 2: You would have to have direct or using AI tools
- 2:11:01Speaker 2: or agents to create everything, but they could just manage
- 2:11:03Speaker 2: that and let the tool do the work, right. Yeah,
- 2:11:05Speaker 2: at that point, you're just babysitting at the tool. It's horrible.
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: Some of what's gonna be really bad is if those
- 2:11:11Speaker 2: AI games don't turn out to be, like, you know,
- 2:11:13Speaker 2: as interesting as human created games or coded games. And
- 2:11:17Speaker 2: that's the big dip. They won't be the big role.
- 2:11:19Speaker 2: That's the big risk they're digging. Well, you think about it.
- 2:11:21Speaker 4: And again last night I'm playing Red Dead Redemption to
- 2:11:25Speaker 4: just marveling at the world they create. But that was
- 2:11:28Speaker 4: created by humans coding right right, and developing that and
- 2:11:32Speaker 4: and drawing that and creating that artwork digitally. But if
- 2:11:36Speaker 4: you they create that environment, now, if they're just gonna say,
- 2:11:40Speaker 4: you know, some person writing the prompt to create a world,
- 2:11:44Speaker 4: it can be cool.
- 2:11:45Speaker 2: Will it be as cool? Probably not. That it's got
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: no sung exactly, it.
- 2:11:49Speaker 3: Has no human imprints on human imprint.
- 2:11:52Speaker 2: It's just leaning on what it's learned about, like the
- 2:11:54Speaker 2: Old West, like feeling from everyone else. Yeah, it all
- 2:11:57Speaker 2: it does. AI.
- 2:11:58Speaker 22: All it does is run Yeah, run Google for eight
- 2:12:01Speaker 22: thousand times so they can find something cool.
- 2:12:03Speaker 4: I'm a assuing open Aye about that very reason. They're saying, you're.
- 2:12:06Speaker 17: Stealing our stuff.
- 2:12:07Speaker 2: So we knew, we know publishers are going to are
- 2:12:09Speaker 2: in the process of doing this because I mean, if
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: you ask it to do something in Shakespearean, it's going
- 2:12:14Speaker 2: to lean on that book and that book they didn't write,
- 2:12:17Speaker 2: and they're basically plagiarizing.
- 2:12:18Speaker 22: Yeah, it's insane how we can get away with all
- 2:12:21Speaker 22: this because we can say it's AI.
- 2:12:23Speaker 2: A bunch of studios got closed.
- 2:12:24Speaker 3: No, it was interesting. Somebody just texted us at seven
- 2:12:27Speaker 3: seven zero three one. Even if you have a physical disc,
- 2:12:30Speaker 3: the manufacturers can remotely tell the console not to play it. No,
- 2:12:34Speaker 3: the real issue is DRM Digital Rights Management.
- 2:12:38Speaker 4: Well, a lot of times, so your game is connected online, right,
- 2:12:42Speaker 4: so I've never played it where I've disconnected the internet. However,
- 2:12:47Speaker 4: if there's an update, it automatically sure won't play the
- 2:12:49Speaker 4: game and it'll.
- 2:12:50Speaker 2: Say you need to do your update.
- 2:12:52Speaker 22: Yeah, I Honestly, I've never even thought about that. I
- 2:12:55Speaker 22: know they turn off servers, like they can turn off
- 2:12:57Speaker 22: servers for the whole community, but I've never heard but
- 2:13:00Speaker 22: if they.
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: Can come in and delete a game off your console
- 2:13:02Speaker 2: without your permission because you haven't played it in a while,
- 2:13:04Speaker 2: I mean theoretically they could do that. Yeah, they have
- 2:13:07Speaker 2: access to your machine through through the internet, like Jack
- 2:13:10Speaker 2: is saying, I got I think the only way to
- 2:13:11Speaker 2: defend yourself to be to unplug your machine every time
- 2:13:13Speaker 2: and only plug it in when you're using it. Yeah,
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: and I guarantee you they can still find a way
- 2:13:17Speaker 2: around that. Yeah, they probably could have it loaded up
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: so when you plug it in, it just automatically starts
- 2:13:21Speaker 2: running that code.
- 2:13:22Speaker 22: Exactly and going back to PlayStation real quick. I really
- 2:13:26Speaker 22: wanted to get this point across going to digital media completely.
- 2:13:30Speaker 22: All these games suffer from all these leaks, which leads
- 2:13:33Speaker 22: to canceling games. I have talked about games gating canceled
- 2:13:36Speaker 22: all the time. Number one reason for that people leaking stuff.
- 2:13:38Speaker 22: People leaking whole games that happens with only digital games,
- 2:13:42Speaker 22: that never really happened when games were only physical. This
- 2:13:46Speaker 22: is just going to destroy the game making process as
- 2:13:48Speaker 22: a whole. Everyone, all these data miners and everything are
- 2:13:51Speaker 22: gonna go find these files.
- 2:13:52Speaker 4: Everything's digital, So you think they'd be more vulnerable for
- 2:13:56Speaker 4: the media that having the disc, because they there's more
- 2:14:00Speaker 4: people involved. You have to produce it, there have to
- 2:14:03Speaker 4: be sending it overseas to produce a disc. You think
- 2:14:06Speaker 4: that would there'd be more vulnerability in you know, in piracy,
- 2:14:12Speaker 4: and you know, those things just disappear.
- 2:14:15Speaker 2: They could have employees like copy disc or whatever.
- 2:14:18Speaker 22: But it's every when you do digital only games, everything
- 2:14:21Speaker 22: is through servers and digitally, it's so easy to.
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: Crack into these things. It happens all the time. Look
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: at it, and so is it easy? Is it easy?
- 2:14:28Speaker 22: Issomniac's whole game of five future games got released and
- 2:14:31Speaker 22: they canceled every one of them except for or one
- 2:14:34Speaker 22: of them.
- 2:14:34Speaker 2: How does this impact GTA or does it? GA is
- 2:14:37Speaker 2: it's own thing, never going to impact anything? I do, No,
- 2:14:40Speaker 2: I believe it. Maybe I think they see how this
- 2:14:43Speaker 2: settles with Sony and then GTA.
- 2:14:45Speaker 4: I have a feeling you might they might say, you
- 2:14:47Speaker 4: know what, we're not going to release a physical disc
- 2:14:50Speaker 4: of the game.
- 2:14:51Speaker 22: That would be insane if they did that. Because then
- 2:14:52Speaker 22: they're taking back their words, and then that's when the
- 2:14:55Speaker 22: whole community would lose their mind.
- 2:14:56Speaker 4: And the other thing is if they are planning on
- 2:14:58Speaker 4: releasing the disc, the hard disc shortly after the other
- 2:15:03Speaker 4: version comes out in November, that has to be in
- 2:15:06Speaker 4: production right now for them to hit the point to
- 2:15:09Speaker 4: have enough by then, so that already has to be
- 2:15:13Speaker 4: being made.
- 2:15:13Speaker 2: And if it's not, then again that's suspect. These guys
- 2:15:17Speaker 2: are operating like there's only one competitor.
- 2:15:20Speaker 4: Yeah, hey, well every time this comes up, Buddy Ross,
- 2:15:27Speaker 4: who's not here to switch to?
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a disc form my switch to.
- 2:15:31Speaker 4: But a lot of times when you put in a disc,
- 2:15:33Speaker 4: it needs to download something before you can even play anyway.
- 2:15:36Speaker 22: Yeah, every game is downloadable now, it's more of the
- 2:15:39Speaker 22: collection thing for physical media. I was in wally World,
- 2:15:41Speaker 22: the best place on Earth Walmart the other day, and
- 2:15:44Speaker 22: I was just going through the DVDs and the Xbox games,
- 2:15:47Speaker 22: and I loved it so much, so much nostalgia, And
- 2:15:49Speaker 22: all I could think in the back of my head was, Wow,
- 2:15:51Speaker 22: I won't see this in ten years now.
- 2:15:53Speaker 2: Let me ask you, let me play the other side
- 2:15:55Speaker 2: of this, Okay, because we've already been through this. I mean,
- 2:15:58Speaker 2: as we are in our mid fifties, except for Deborah
- 2:16:02Speaker 2: Nevraa is a little younger than that lot young. But
- 2:16:04Speaker 2: what I'm saying is, yea like, we had complete collections
- 2:16:06Speaker 2: of cassettes, then there were no cassette players. Then we
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: had complete complexion of collections of CDs. Now there are
- 2:16:12Speaker 2: no CD players, babes, we had complete collections of VHS's
- 2:16:16Speaker 2: and DVDs, Blu rays. That doesn't exist anymore. We've already
- 2:16:20Speaker 2: been through this iteration with media companies doing this. This
- 2:16:25Speaker 2: is just seems like to me, and I I hate
- 2:16:28Speaker 2: it for you because I know it seems like to
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: me just another process in eliminating cost, and and it
- 2:16:34Speaker 2: is it is, for sure, But because we have to
- 2:16:36Speaker 2: stream movies, we stream music, we stream everything.
- 2:16:38Speaker 6: Now.
- 2:16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, no, absolutely, I see your point.
- 2:16:41Speaker 22: But with those things, they were all still produced, They're
- 2:16:44Speaker 22: all still collectible like people I know artists that still
- 2:16:47Speaker 22: drop vinyls and oh yeah, it was just for the money.
- 2:16:50Speaker 2: The vinyl is way different. I just found my CD
- 2:16:52Speaker 2: collection digging around, so as we were flowing some stuff out,
- 2:16:54Speaker 2: I have one of those case logic things. It's like
- 2:16:56Speaker 2: four inches stick and I'm running through it. I'm like,
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: every one of these albums is a bank your Warren
- 2:17:00Speaker 2: g Tool the Black Crows. Not one of them is useful.
- 2:17:04Speaker 2: There is no way to play that anywhere in my
- 2:17:07Speaker 2: house them.
- 2:17:09Speaker 4: Yeah, but you know what, if you had a gaming
- 2:17:12Speaker 4: system that adds a discray, you can play it there.
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: Yeah, however, you know, the at least you own that.
- 2:17:18Speaker 4: Like if you have digital music and right you own
- 2:17:20Speaker 4: it's on your computer, or a movie you downloaded, you
- 2:17:23Speaker 4: can still play it. Not as oh Sony decided you
- 2:17:26Speaker 4: can't play that anymore. And the other problem is these
- 2:17:30Speaker 4: games have gotten so complex and so big. The file
- 2:17:33Speaker 4: size a giant. They take up most of your hard drives,
- 2:17:36Speaker 4: so on your game you could fit.
- 2:17:38Speaker 2: Like one game. You couldn't download two of these new
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: modern games. Right when it was when Jade was giving me,
- 2:17:44Speaker 2: you know, ste to download, I had to even these
- 2:17:47Speaker 2: bowl sque games that he was giving me, these child games. Yeah,
- 2:17:50Speaker 2: I would have to delete two of the others to
- 2:17:52Speaker 2: get one on mine, and it would still take forty
- 2:17:54Speaker 2: minutes to the you know download or whatever. So yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:17:57Speaker 2: a bit laborious.
- 2:17:58Speaker 22: And by the way, those hard drives to get more
- 2:18:00Speaker 22: games because you need an internal hard drive to run
- 2:18:03Speaker 22: the new games. Yeah, so you want to know how
- 2:18:07Speaker 22: much I don't know. They've probably risen since the last
- 2:18:09Speaker 22: time I looked. Last time I looked, before all these
- 2:18:11Speaker 22: swortages and everything, they were already two hundred dollars.
- 2:18:13Speaker 2: You know, you gotta have like five terror bytes or
- 2:18:15Speaker 2: something more or more than that.
- 2:18:16Speaker 22: Right, Yeah, I mean I have a one terror bye
- 2:18:18Speaker 22: one terrriby would would do you pretty solid. But yeah,
- 2:18:20Speaker 22: but even one terrorbyte hard drive right now, it's stupid expensive.
- 2:18:24Speaker 22: It always has been. I wanted to mention some of
- 2:18:27Speaker 22: these studios they got shut down real quick, or not
- 2:18:29Speaker 22: shut down, but affected really hard in these layoffs. Activision,
- 2:18:33Speaker 22: Call of Duty huge layoffs. But DESDA is a huge layoffs.
- 2:18:38Speaker 22: I know that hurts your heart. That's Fallout, That's Skyrim.
- 2:18:41Speaker 22: That those are two of the biggest games one and
- 2:18:44Speaker 22: they took massive hits, especially the Skyrim Online and they
- 2:18:48Speaker 22: developers are changing their whole roadmap, their future plays. Way.
- 2:18:52Speaker 22: There's so many layoffs Blizzard, Blizzard, There's there was another
- 2:18:56Speaker 22: one down here. Halo got cut off. Uh, you know,
- 2:19:00Speaker 22: I ID software from the Doom games. You know, doom, right, yeah,
- 2:19:04Speaker 22: sure they got cut. So many massive studios are getting
- 2:19:08Speaker 22: cut in these layoffs.
- 2:19:09Speaker 2: Well, it's so crazy. I mean, if you have I'll tenfoil.
- 2:19:12Speaker 2: Do some more tinfoil for us here. Okay, okay, okay.
- 2:19:15Speaker 2: Do you have a theory of why now, like why
- 2:19:18Speaker 2: this is all all of this seems to be dropping
- 2:19:20Speaker 2: and happening like right now? Is there is there a reason?
- 2:19:23Speaker 2: I mean, Christmas is I mean, you know, I say
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: not far away. Christmas is you know, six months away,
- 2:19:28Speaker 2: and we know that people make decisions like this for
- 2:19:31Speaker 2: sales months out before the season hits. I mean, is
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: there any theories out there why all of this is
- 2:19:36Speaker 2: happening all at once right now?
- 2:19:38Speaker 22: I just I really think these these they haven't had
- 2:19:40Speaker 22: the best name to them in the last couple of months,
- 2:19:43Speaker 22: These consoles, these companies, I think they're just honestly at
- 2:19:46Speaker 22: this point, just scratching their head.
- 2:19:47Speaker 2: They don't know what to do, so they're just trying
- 2:19:49Speaker 2: to go all out. Yeah, at this point, they're just
- 2:19:51Speaker 2: trying to go all out.
- 2:19:53Speaker 22: I don't even know why you would go about this
- 2:19:56Speaker 22: above companies. I just hear this beautiful music alone.
- 2:20:00Speaker 2: It keeps you any time you mentioned Halo. It just
- 2:20:03Speaker 2: happens to come up. Yeah, this is just so beautiful. Well, buddy,
- 2:20:05Speaker 2: I knew that you're gonna be fired up today.
- 2:20:07Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
- 2:20:08Speaker 2: I knew you would have all the deeds for us
- 2:20:09Speaker 2: today and I appreciate it very much. Good job as always,
- 2:20:12Speaker 2: of course, thank you, sir. You guys get it up
- 2:20:13Speaker 2: good loud for jing and groat and you can hear
- 2:20:18Speaker 2: that as a podcast a little bit later when de
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: behf that posted up. Thanks. I always good to you, buddy.
- 2:20:24Speaker 2: Good see, very good.
- 2:20:25Speaker 3: Have a great weekend.
- 2:20:26Speaker 2: All right, what do you have coming up for you
- 2:20:28Speaker 2: heard it here first?
- 2:20:29Speaker 3: Oh, it's gonna be a fun one. We're going to
- 2:20:31Speaker 3: talk about the brother of Lakeland's Bad Santa is arrested
- 2:20:34Speaker 3: after exposing himself. What a family. A tragic workplace accident
- 2:20:39Speaker 3: in Deerfield Beach think destined final destination and that sucks.
- 2:20:44Speaker 3: Please seek a vacuum vandal. We'll talk about that next year.
- 2:20:48Speaker 2: You all right back in the second Dev's News. We'll
- 2:20:53Speaker 2: get the hell out of here.
- 2:20:54Speaker 1: On a Friday, Reel Radio was on Instagram at Real
- 2:20:57Speaker 1: Radio one O four one, sponsored by the Law Office
- 2:21:00Speaker 1: is of ener Jar and Levine accident attorneys call the
- 2:21:02Speaker 1: law officers of ana Jar and Levine at one eight
- 2:21:04Speaker 1: hundred and seven four seven three.
- 2:21:06Speaker 3: That's one eight hundred and seven four seven three seven
- 2:21:09Speaker 3: three three.
- 2:21:09Speaker 7: This is where the report is brought to you by
- 2:21:11Speaker 7: Mills Air.
- 2:21:14Speaker 2: Hey, there's Central Florida, Fox Reyvibestorm team urologist Snowbourbon.
- 2:21:18Speaker 3: Here.
- 2:21:18Speaker 2: It's another day of a heat wave. Saturday, temperatures upper.
- 2:21:21Speaker 25: Nineteen after a jingle bad show, Prince of the Island.
- 2:21:29Speaker 25: I'm gonna tell you this. It applies to you to
- 2:21:32Speaker 25: chat to devs that you guys can call me anytime
- 2:21:37Speaker 25: you want. I'm available twenty four hours a day. I
- 2:21:40Speaker 25: won't send buy anything for you. And the next thing
- 2:21:42Speaker 25: I want to tell you, listen, you're not an American
- 2:21:46Speaker 25: if you can't grill and have a beer.
- 2:21:49Speaker 2: Bear is there to put out the flame?
- 2:21:52Speaker 25: Okay, period, let's don't talk about it.
- 2:21:58Speaker 12: All right?
- 2:21:58Speaker 2: Well, you know what, that might be my favorite top
- 2:22:02Speaker 2: exactly and he got the whole pain. Yeah, very good,
- 2:22:05Speaker 2: all right, seven seven zero three one. And of course
- 2:22:07Speaker 2: you can always send a talk back if you'd like,
- 2:22:09Speaker 2: although we don't do anymore today Real radio do FM
- 2:22:14Speaker 2: go to the Roal radio app and then send it
- 2:22:16Speaker 2: over to Jack. It'll be fun. Sure you give me
- 2:22:18Speaker 2: a super star. Oh, by the way, I'll give you
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: an update on my snoreguard thing.
- 2:22:21Speaker 3: Oh yeah, what's going on with that?
- 2:22:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, trouble in paradise. So on the way home
- 2:22:25Speaker 2: last night, my wife had told me, she says, look,
- 2:22:28Speaker 2: I cannot sleep in the room with you if you
- 2:22:30Speaker 2: don't have something like that. I don't like the idea
- 2:22:33Speaker 2: of that. I hear about this divorce what they call
- 2:22:34Speaker 2: a sleep divorce. Yeah, I don't care for that. I
- 2:22:37Speaker 2: know there are people who have different bedrooms for their
- 2:22:39Speaker 2: you know, because the schedules and stuff. And I'm a
- 2:22:42Speaker 2: kind of a traditionalist when it comes to my marriage.
- 2:22:45Speaker 2: I like it my woman, and I want to buy
- 2:22:47Speaker 2: my side, right.
- 2:22:47Speaker 3: I want to reach over in the middle of the
- 2:22:49Speaker 3: night and be able to feel that she's there. Couldn't
- 2:22:52Speaker 3: have said it better myself. Yeah, I mean that's just
- 2:22:54Speaker 3: how I you marriage, right. I think that's all that's
- 2:22:57Speaker 3: fair to say for you as well. Jack.
- 2:22:59Speaker 4: And yeah, you want to be able to reach out
- 2:23:00Speaker 4: and scratch their naked butt, Yeah, yeah, for sure, and
- 2:23:03Speaker 4: vice versa.
- 2:23:04Speaker 2: Yeah. So on the way home, last night, I stopped
- 2:23:07Speaker 2: by CBS. I did a little research beforehand, and CBS
- 2:23:10Speaker 2: has a thing called snore Guard r X. Now I
- 2:23:14Speaker 2: will tell you it is fifty three dollars and it
- 2:23:17Speaker 2: doesn't look any different than that thing you get when
- 2:23:20Speaker 2: you play football. And I was like, am I gonna
- 2:23:22Speaker 2: roll this fifty dollars dice to get this thing and
- 2:23:25Speaker 2: have it completely pissed me off?
- 2:23:27Speaker 24: Now?
- 2:23:27Speaker 2: I read the box and it said he's gonna warrant
- 2:23:29Speaker 2: you there. If you don't like it, you can send
- 2:23:30Speaker 2: it back. So off I buy, and off I go.
- 2:23:32Speaker 2: When I buy this, get home last night, go through
- 2:23:35Speaker 2: the process of heating it up into them whatever, and
- 2:23:37Speaker 2: the whole time I'm doing it, and I'm like, there's
- 2:23:39Speaker 2: no way this is gonna work. It's so flimsy. It's
- 2:23:42Speaker 2: so kind of flimsy. I'll be damn if the thing
- 2:23:44Speaker 2: doesn't work perfectly. Yea, now that does it last night
- 2:23:50Speaker 2: actually even, But that doesn't mean I'm still going to
- 2:23:53Speaker 2: go to the dentist and get one professionally made out
- 2:23:55Speaker 2: of acrylic, which is like the one we had. Yeah,
- 2:23:57Speaker 2: I'm still gonna get that done, because just this thing,
- 2:24:00Speaker 2: I would be buying one every month because it's just
- 2:24:03Speaker 2: it's I don't know that it's built to It doesn't
- 2:24:05Speaker 2: hit me as a daily Let me just say that
- 2:24:07Speaker 2: it's just a little flimsy. So well, congratulates, but man,
- 2:24:12Speaker 2: it worked perfectly last night. I am so happy. So
- 2:24:16Speaker 2: oh yeah, you have issues and you don't think that
- 2:24:18Speaker 2: thing will work. I'll give you a heads up. I
- 2:24:19Speaker 2: don't endorse the company, but that snore guard RX did
- 2:24:23Speaker 2: me right.
- 2:24:23Speaker 1: Man.
- 2:24:24Speaker 3: Well, A lot of listeners had texted that to us
- 2:24:26Speaker 3: at seven seven zero three one saying it's it's a
- 2:24:28Speaker 3: worthy alternative until you get your permanent right place.
- 2:24:31Speaker 2: And that's exactly what I'm gonna do. So hopefully you
- 2:24:32Speaker 2: get a next week and go and I got some sleep.
- 2:24:35Speaker 2: It was good. Oh no, right, Devil's do you heard
- 2:24:38Speaker 2: it here first?
- 2:24:38Speaker 7: Okay, good time for you heard it here first? On
- 2:24:42Speaker 7: the Jim Colbert Show Man.
- 2:24:44Speaker 3: There are sometimes when you wish it would you didn't
- 2:24:46Speaker 3: say it ran in the family first.
- 2:24:48Speaker 2: You heard it here first?
- 2:24:49Speaker 3: Is brought to you by Stellar Knights at Orlando's Science
- 2:24:51Speaker 3: Center now through August first. See the lineup wrap tickets
- 2:24:55Speaker 3: at OSC dot org. You're going to be taking in
- 2:24:57Speaker 3: one of the laser light shows.
- 2:24:58Speaker 2: So I'm going to the country. I'm going to the
- 2:25:00Speaker 2: Pink Floyd when my daughter is currently one hour away
- 2:25:04Speaker 2: from her laser Taylor Swift experience. Oh wow, that's what
- 2:25:07Speaker 2: I got her for her birthday this year. You're not going, No,
- 2:25:10Speaker 2: not to the Taylor Swift show now, Okay.
- 2:25:12Speaker 3: Well you can again see the lineup and grab your
- 2:25:15Speaker 3: tickets at osc dot org. Okay. Like I said, sometimes
- 2:25:18Speaker 3: there you just don't want to say that. It runs
- 2:25:20Speaker 3: in the family, and this would be one of those times.
- 2:25:22Speaker 3: Because a sixty two year old Polk County man is
- 2:25:25Speaker 3: facing in decent exposure and other charges after deputies say
- 2:25:29Speaker 3: he followed a five year old girl and her mother
- 2:25:33Speaker 3: as they were grocery shopping through a Walmart in Mulberry
- 2:25:36Speaker 3: earlier this week and exposed himself to the child. That's
- 2:25:39Speaker 3: not all, but let's just leave it at that, Grady Judd.
- 2:25:42Speaker 3: Sheriff Grady Judd rather says David Hicks not only has
- 2:25:46Speaker 3: a long criminal history himself, but is also the younger
- 2:25:49Speaker 3: brother of Tom Hicks. Tom was known for portraying Santa
- 2:25:53Speaker 3: Claus in Lakeland at several events, and for many many
- 2:25:57Speaker 3: years he was arrested in a recent in trafficking sting.
- 2:26:01Speaker 3: Judd said he was quote shocked end quote when he
- 2:26:04Speaker 3: was told of the family relationship.
- 2:26:06Speaker 7: I thought she was messing with me, she said, I
- 2:26:09Speaker 7: am not.
- 2:26:10Speaker 3: She brought this picture and said Santa Claus's brother is
- 2:26:16Speaker 3: this guy, And now we've got them both locked up
- 2:26:19Speaker 3: in jail.
- 2:26:20Speaker 6: Wow.
- 2:26:21Speaker 2: I just hope there's no more brothers.
- 2:26:22Speaker 7: Wow.
- 2:26:23Speaker 2: I've heard of a father and son that did that. Yes,
- 2:26:25Speaker 2: the father was an abuser and he turned his son
- 2:26:27Speaker 2: and they actually worked as a network together.
- 2:26:29Speaker 3: They did. And of course I'm sure that is going
- 2:26:32Speaker 3: to be something that's going to be investigated here, because
- 2:26:35Speaker 3: since the news came out about David Hicks, they're investigating
- 2:26:38Speaker 3: at least one more incident with him. Judd says, both
- 2:26:41Speaker 3: brothers are sexual deviance and need to be locked up
- 2:26:44Speaker 3: for a long time. Got to go down in South Florida.
- 2:26:46Speaker 3: This is, like I said, a tragic story. A worker
- 2:26:48Speaker 3: has died after getting trapped on a conveyor belt in
- 2:26:51Speaker 3: Deerfield Beach. It happened earlier this morning at a food
- 2:26:55Speaker 3: production facility. Authority say the man was trapped beneath the
- 2:26:58Speaker 3: hopper arm of the conveyor belt while trying to fix
- 2:27:02Speaker 3: a machine issue. First responders did arrive quickly, but unfortunately
- 2:27:06Speaker 3: the man had already passed away. An investigation is ongoing.
- 2:27:11Speaker 3: Anybody who repairs any kind of industrial machine, to me,
- 2:27:15Speaker 3: is an unsung hero.
- 2:27:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:27:17Speaker 2: Yeah, cut the power of the entire state before I
- 2:27:18Speaker 2: get under their seriously.
- 2:27:20Speaker 3: Seriously serious, Yeah I mean. And then finally, deputies in
- 2:27:24Speaker 3: Jacksonville are searching for a man accused of cleaning out
- 2:27:27Speaker 3: stores vacuum mile. Investigators say the suspect loaded five vacuum
- 2:27:32Speaker 3: cleaners into a shopping cart and rolled out of the
- 2:27:34Speaker 3: business without paying, taking more than thirteen hundred dollars worth
- 2:27:37Speaker 3: of merchandise. Balls in a tongue in cheek social media posts,
- 2:27:41Speaker 3: the sheriff's office said it hopes this quote vacuum vandal
- 2:27:44Speaker 3: end quote doesn't make a.
- 2:27:46Speaker 2: Don't do it clean?
- 2:27:47Speaker 3: Getaway?
- 2:27:48Speaker 2: Oh I hate it, and now I want him to
- 2:27:50Speaker 2: get away, adding.
- 2:27:51Speaker 3: That they have a dust free cell. Okay, stop waiting
- 2:27:54Speaker 3: for him at the gray Bar Duvall County Jail.
- 2:27:57Speaker 4: Some of these, some of these police departments writers anything
- 2:28:01Speaker 4: hang out with great judge, you're not graty?
- 2:28:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you're not either one or a good friend
- 2:28:07Speaker 3: up there in Daytona. Yeah you got it, Chitwood, Yeah, man,
- 2:28:09Speaker 3: and you heard it here first. I'm the Jim Colbert.
- 2:28:12Speaker 2: Thank you, Deborah Sure. Who do we have to think today,
