- 0:00Speaker 1: Okay, I gotta tell y'all something real quick. Everything that
- 0:03Speaker 1: I've done up to this point, as far as slimming down,
- 0:06Speaker 1: has been diet and you know, way of life and
- 0:11Speaker 1: everything like that. I haven't really necessarily been working out.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I haven't worked out for a while. While doing the pilot,
- 0:17Speaker 1: I did a little bit of yoga, but not a lot.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I haven't worked out, i'd say in about a month
- 0:22Speaker 1: and a half. Okay, I worked out all last week.
- 0:28Speaker 1: How do I go? When I tell you pain, That's
- 0:33Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. But it's a good pain. No.
- 0:37Speaker 1: This shit is like the type of pain where you're like,
- 0:39Speaker 1: I don't know if I want to work out again.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Pain like I can't straighten my arms, My arms are stuck,
- 0:45Speaker 1: Like do you don't want to go from zero to
- 0:46Speaker 1: one thousand? Brothers? I went from zero to one hundred
- 0:50Speaker 1: like a fricking idiot. And Biden, by the way he
- 0:54Speaker 1: heard himself working out, he's got like I've totally messed
- 0:56Speaker 1: up a shoulder from from pushing too hard. Let me
- 1:00Speaker 1: say right now, is slow. It does not feel good
- 1:05Speaker 1: at all. I thought I was taking it slow. Apparently
- 1:09Speaker 1: I needed to go slower. Did you see the thirsty
- 1:11Speaker 1: pictures I sent you, dude. My wife was like, what what?
- 1:14Speaker 1: What's he trying to say? Is he trying to fuck
- 1:16Speaker 1: you with something? You want to put them on Instagram
- 1:20Speaker 1: because they would be too thirsty? No, I think you
- 1:23Speaker 1: should put them up there. Man, well you got anna,
- 1:26Speaker 1: but I sent him to my girl obviously, but I didn't.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I also want to show off to my friend what's happening.
- 1:31Speaker 1: So I sent him to you and you were like, Okay,
- 1:34Speaker 1: this motherfucker looks like I'm not gonna say the rock,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but Rock Junior pebble a pebble. Yeah, he looks like
- 1:42Speaker 1: like the pebble. Dude, he is ripped. He's ripped. Dude.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Don't skip leg day though. I know, I know, I know,
- 1:50Speaker 1: don't skip them legs. But I hate when people I
- 1:52Speaker 1: show them a good picture and they and they look
- 1:54Speaker 1: for something to criticize. Yeah. I don't have big legs yet,
- 1:56Speaker 1: so that's it. Mind day. I'm just saying, keep the symmetry, man,
- 2:01Speaker 1: because you've got good symmetry right now. No, No, I know,
- 2:04Speaker 1: I agree. I'm the standard guy who always is more
- 2:06Speaker 1: interested in his upper body and then and then you
- 2:08Speaker 1: look uneven and I'm gonna I'm gonna get them like SI.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Don't forget man, because you've always had good symmetry. Keep
- 2:14Speaker 1: it going, thank you. And I'm about to wrap my movies,
- 2:18Speaker 1: so I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna keep going because
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm really aspired, I'm feeling good. I'm about about being
- 2:22Speaker 1: in shape and my new diet. I'm gonna keep it
- 2:24Speaker 1: going right on. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie to you guys.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I ate cheese. Oh boy, Okay, there's a lot worse
- 2:34Speaker 1: things to eat, but I'm just saying I had some
- 2:36Speaker 1: cheese the other night. The pizza came and I ate
- 2:39Speaker 1: some cheese, and I was like, I eat cheese. I
- 2:44Speaker 1: haven't tasted a good vegan. IU still eat some cheese.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm i one. Maybe one day I'll be full badass vegan.
- 2:49Speaker 1: But right now, vegan cheese don't taste good. That's the
- 2:52Speaker 1: I know. Should we invite William in? Is he here? Yes? Oh? So,
- 2:56Speaker 1: everybody exciting news. We have your favorite guest, Bill Lawrence
- 2:59Speaker 1: back on podcast and m everybody loves uncle Bill and
- 3:04Speaker 1: uh and let's bring him in because we always bring
- 3:06Speaker 1: in Bill early because he's the rare guest that gets
- 3:08Speaker 1: the pre theme song attention. Mm hmmm, Ladies and gentlemen,
- 3:13Speaker 1: give it up. And Bill Laura America is where are you? Bill?
- 3:27Speaker 1: And the time we just clapped for you to join
- 3:29Speaker 1: the show? How many shows have you sold that I
- 3:34Speaker 1: like it? Hey, don't you can't let me be Sarah Chalk, man,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I gotta start my recording. Okay, don't be Sarah Chunk.
- 3:40Speaker 1: By the way, Sarah Chalk. Great news. Her show got
- 3:42Speaker 1: a second season high back from season two. And we
- 3:48Speaker 1: love Sarah Chalk and we're so happy about that because
- 3:50Speaker 1: she not only loves the show and loves doing it
- 3:52Speaker 1: and loves all the fan love for it, but she
- 3:54Speaker 1: really wants to live in Canada and just happens to
- 3:57Speaker 1: be a show that shoots in Canada, and so it's
- 4:00Speaker 1: win win for her in Vancouver. Is what I heard?
- 4:02Speaker 1: And groovy I think van groovy. It's what they said.
- 4:05Speaker 1: By the way, I'm also supposed to By the way,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I miss you all so much, Daniel Donald, Bill, this
- 4:12Speaker 1: is the this is the Family Feud Crew right here?
- 4:15Speaker 1: I know? Does it air? Joel? I'm so they sent
- 4:19Speaker 1: it to me and I forgot June thirteenth, Fast and
- 4:26Speaker 1: next time. What happened? Right? No, no, no, no no no
- 4:28Speaker 1: no no, But guys, please mark your calendars right now.
- 4:32Speaker 1: You're on your phone or you're at your computer. June thirteenth,
- 4:35Speaker 1: Family Feud, and this is the dream team right here.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Uh it's yeah, I tune in to see it was
- 4:41Speaker 1: so embarrassing for us. This is a group. I think
- 4:44Speaker 1: people will like that. I think people like seeing that.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think. And there's some amazing shills, Bill, I'll send you.
- 4:49Speaker 1: They sent me some stills to to approve. And did
- 4:52Speaker 1: you look at them, Donald, or did you look at them? Yeah?
- 4:54Speaker 1: I looked at him. I wasn't care. I don't care,
- 4:57Speaker 1: just post No. They were sending him to see we
- 4:59Speaker 1: approved them. But I can care about it proving though.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I thought they were all amazing. Yeah, I was like,
- 5:03Speaker 1: these are still of us on Family Feud. This is amazing.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I want all I gotta love a lot of love
- 5:09Speaker 1: to pass out too. I'm told to tell Donald Faizon
- 5:12Speaker 1: from Brett Goldstein, who was a writer and plays Roy
- 5:14Speaker 1: on ted Lasso, that a movie called The Wave was
- 5:17Speaker 1: very good. He just watched it. Donald, and Justin Long
- 5:21Speaker 1: and Zach, I thought your episode of Solos was really,
- 5:25Speaker 1: really good as cool. Thank I wonder if any of
- 5:27Speaker 1: these three watched did you guys? Oh shit, I really
- 5:30Speaker 1: meant to god, Bill, dude, I did watch all the time. Bill,
- 5:39Speaker 1: you don't and that second episode. Bill, you don't have
- 5:42Speaker 1: this experience because people love your ship. But I make
- 5:46Speaker 1: something and three of my best friends here don't watch it. Yeah,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but in their defense, in their defense, in their defense,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it is thirty minutes. Yeah, but you you, I think
- 5:56Speaker 1: in rightfully so because I do it to you. You often,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I would say, text or informed me a lot to
- 6:01Speaker 1: remind me that I haven't watched it yet. You probably
- 6:03Speaker 1: don't do that to that I do. He has I
- 6:08Speaker 1: just get we just get tagged. I have people on
- 6:11Speaker 1: my dms that write, Zach, that was amazing. I can't
- 6:13Speaker 1: believe you. I'm crying my eyes out. I can't believe
- 6:15Speaker 1: your friends won't watch it. I'm asking them to watch,
- 6:20Speaker 1: like I'm like a Maudlin documentary series. I was texting
- 6:24Speaker 1: Donald and Joel about it, and Joel's like, I don't
- 6:26Speaker 1: think I can get there on this one. I don't
- 6:28Speaker 1: think I can do it. I'm like, why, Wow, Anyway,
- 6:33Speaker 1: if I'm gonna watch, I'm gonna watch it eventually. It
- 6:35Speaker 1: took you some time. It took you several years to
- 6:38Speaker 1: watch Remember the Titans. I don't believe that you're Donald
- 6:42Speaker 1: right away by and I'll watch anything that Joel does
- 6:45Speaker 1: and Donald right I'm the only person watches everything right
- 6:47Speaker 1: away because I don't believe that it's retaliation for not
- 6:51Speaker 1: watching Titans. I just think you're no, it's not retaliation.
- 6:54Speaker 1: It's just that you understand why I haven't watched it yet.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Ship comes up, things happen, you know. That's how you
- 6:58Speaker 1: guys know this isn't visual thing. But Zach right now
- 7:01Speaker 1: has what my wife calls sad body. Let's switch to
- 7:13Speaker 1: something you guys did watch, and that is Bill. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: just want to say, I'm so happy for you. Um.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I know I've said this before, but I have to
- 7:19Speaker 1: keep saying it because ted Lasso is just everywhere. It's still.
- 7:23Speaker 1: There's this little boy in my movie. He must be
- 7:25Speaker 1: eight years old, and he's so he found out that
- 7:29Speaker 1: I directed an episode and I thought eight would be
- 7:31Speaker 1: too young to love the show, but he put a
- 7:33Speaker 1: believe sign on my trailer. Oh that's awesome. I'm just
- 7:38Speaker 1: gonna wear ted Lasso flag while Zach talks not big deal.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You know, you know what they're saying now, They're saying
- 7:45Speaker 1: that ted Lasso is bigger and better than Scrubs. Now,
- 7:49Speaker 1: this is this is what people are telling you. They're
- 7:53Speaker 1: like those people. I don't like them either. They can
- 7:55Speaker 1: kiss the ted Lasso. We already know he's not gonna
- 7:58Speaker 1: go h eight point five. These are these shows. All
- 8:01Speaker 1: these things don't have to compete. None of this. Yes,
- 8:03Speaker 1: all bills achievements don't have But I'm just saying, no,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you thought. Listen, you hit it big with Spin City,
- 8:09Speaker 1: then you hit it big again with Scrubs, and then
- 8:11Speaker 1: you've gotten even bigger with ted Lasso. Man like this,
- 8:16Speaker 1: It doesn't happen like this for most people. As people,
- 8:18Speaker 1: there's like a hit and then everything after is like, oh,
- 8:22Speaker 1: it was good, but it wasn't no, or it wasn't
- 8:24Speaker 1: there about his new thing that it isn't even announced yet,
- 8:27Speaker 1: I can't I can't talk about it mention here. Its
- 8:33Speaker 1: officials going to get announced, Bill, because I want the
- 8:36Speaker 1: exclusive on this, probably in the next week or two,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and then I'll come on and tell you guys about it.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Be Yeah, well we love you, Bill, and I'm so
- 8:42Speaker 1: proud of you and I guys, I really you're everywhere
- 8:45Speaker 1: and I all these articles. I don't want to jinx you,
- 8:47Speaker 1: but I'm not superstitious. All these articles are like Lasso
- 8:50Speaker 1: is gonna sweep the Emmys. So you know it's weird though,
- 8:53Speaker 1: So he was trying to have his two promotional stuff
- 8:55Speaker 1: for all that. You guys both had to do that
- 8:57Speaker 1: a lot before, and the show is so the end
- 8:59Speaker 1: to this is of that. Like, so it's really hard
- 9:02Speaker 1: because like the whole premise of the show is you
- 9:03Speaker 1: don't care about winning and losing. It's how you play
- 9:06Speaker 1: the game and you know how you treat each other.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So it all feels disingenuous. But um, I promise not
- 9:11Speaker 1: Zach always gives me shit, you guys, if I pretend
- 9:13Speaker 1: not to care, if I'm good at pretending not to care, Yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I promise that Bill. Bill is genius at many things,
- 9:19Speaker 1: but acting is not his best thing. And amazing act
- 9:22Speaker 1: when when he acts, when he acts like he doesn't
- 9:24Speaker 1: give a fuck about awards, it really shows through. Um, now,
- 9:27Speaker 1: what about merch Bill, because everyone including this little boy
- 9:30Speaker 1: want jerseys and stuff like, Yeah, it took me forever,
- 9:33Speaker 1: but uh, it's like the first place I get to
- 9:36Speaker 1: say about Yeah, I think there's there's initial stuff that'll
- 9:40Speaker 1: come out and be available right when the hopefully right
- 9:43Speaker 1: when the trailer comes out, which is a few weeks.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Trailer already come out. The official trailer for season two
- 9:49Speaker 1: comes out in like three weeks, and then and then
- 9:52Speaker 1: all the cool like name kits and like with like
- 9:56Speaker 1: official you know, Premier League type kits come out in September. Well,
- 9:59Speaker 1: they'll be stuff. I'm surprised if club teams all of
- 10:02Speaker 1: a sudden start having jerseys and stuff like that that replicate. Uh,
- 10:08Speaker 1: there's already so much merch on Etsy and I know,
- 10:10Speaker 1: by the way, So that's what happened. I wanted to
- 10:12Speaker 1: make this little boy's day, and I went on and
- 10:14Speaker 1: you have I knew that you guys didn't ever merch yet,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and I went and like, Etsy's just covered with it.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But that's non official. So what I did was I,
- 10:21Speaker 1: even though he's eight, I gave him the sweatshirt that
- 10:23Speaker 1: you had given me because I was like, well, I
- 10:27Speaker 1: love this little boy. He's so sweet and he's like
- 10:30Speaker 1: and uh, and I just wanted to make this day.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I get his name, he should probably send me like
- 10:34Speaker 1: fifty bucks. It's not a big deal that you have
- 10:38Speaker 1: a sad body. I'm joking around. Of course, I'm glad
- 10:41Speaker 1: you gave it to him. That's super cool. I'll put
- 10:43Speaker 1: my shoulders back. I'm sad that I'm sad that Donald,
- 10:46Speaker 1: Joel and Dale didn't watch Solos. But okay, um, so
- 10:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry. No, it's all right, it's all right. You
- 10:51Speaker 1: have other things to do. By the way, I have
- 10:53Speaker 1: a great thematic I have a a great thematic thing
- 10:57Speaker 1: for this episode. I'm gonna talk to you guys about
- 10:58Speaker 1: when you get gone, but I wanted to know how
- 11:00Speaker 1: everybody's lives is going to miss you all. It's been.
- 11:02Speaker 1: It's very good to see you all. Thinking of Donaldistakes.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I golfed for the first time like eight months yesterday
- 11:06Speaker 1: is holy cow. Congratulations on that one with me is
- 11:09Speaker 1: like as a golfer, Bill, you're a teds guy. Bill
- 11:11Speaker 1: does everything the well, you know what Donald, that they
- 11:14Speaker 1: just reopened you know the VA over in Westwood, the
- 11:17Speaker 1: Veterans thing. They have unbelievably beautiful nine whole course that
- 11:21Speaker 1: no one goes to in the veterans area there. It
- 11:25Speaker 1: was really cool. I went there with a. Probably Dotti
- 11:28Speaker 1: plays that all the time with his buddies. It's all
- 11:30Speaker 1: punch and put thing. But it's fun. Yeah, he loves it.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It's beautiful. You know, you've graduated to real courses. You're
- 11:35Speaker 1: the real deal now and I see your videos and stuff.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Now it's fun. It's a lot of fun. If asking
- 11:40Speaker 1: about my life, it's like a roller coaster right now.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Are you allowed to talk about what happened or not? Yeah? Absolutely,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I mean the whole world knows about it. Well, the
- 11:49Speaker 1: craziest thing talk about it? Yeah, sure, why not? So
- 11:51Speaker 1: the day that shows are announced, I get a call
- 11:55Speaker 1: at like ten forty five and it's my agent and
- 11:59Speaker 1: he's like, yo, you're called as soon as you get this.
- 12:02Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh shit, it didn't get picked up.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Like that's the when when not when your whole team
- 12:07Speaker 1: doesn't call you, you know right away it didn't get
- 12:10Speaker 1: picked up. They only want to all be on the
- 12:11Speaker 1: call when it's good news, right, And so I call him.
- 12:15Speaker 1: He's like, so, look, the show didn't get picked up
- 12:19Speaker 1: and it's being reworked. And immediately I was like, oh,
- 12:25Speaker 1: did I get recast? And he was like, no, you
- 12:28Speaker 1: didn't recast. And I was like, all right, great, cool,
- 12:30Speaker 1: great news. So heartless. Well, Bill, you can give him
- 12:37Speaker 1: a pep talk, because this shit happens all the time,
- 12:39Speaker 1: all the time. But it's a very good sign. And
- 12:41Speaker 1: I mean, Bill, I mean you you know better than me.
- 12:43Speaker 1: But isn't it an extraordinary sign that they want to
- 12:45Speaker 1: reinvest another like nine thousand shows have this success story
- 12:50Speaker 1: of getting kind of replatformed and reimagined. They're currently it's
- 12:55Speaker 1: already picked up making How I Met Your Father for
- 12:58Speaker 1: the second time, and this one going right on to streaming,
- 13:01Speaker 1: and they made the first thing happen to Game of Thrones.
- 13:06Speaker 1: There's an original Game of Thrones out there with different
- 13:08Speaker 1: completely different people in it. There's a Scrubs out there
- 13:12Speaker 1: with by the way, with just doing it, they went
- 13:22Speaker 1: on to do good things anyway. That's why we use
- 13:23Speaker 1: their name because they both still had great careers. I
- 13:28Speaker 1: you know, it's it's it's really interesting though, because we
- 13:30Speaker 1: put a lot of work into it and it was
- 13:32Speaker 1: and genuinely thought that you know, the uh, the network
- 13:38Speaker 1: would love it. And at the end of the day,
- 13:41Speaker 1: they loved the characters, and they loved the formula idea,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and they love the cast. They're not changing the cast. Yeah,
- 13:47Speaker 1: but something was missing, they said, and they wanted to
- 13:51Speaker 1: and they want to rework it, which is, well, there's
- 13:52Speaker 1: no better there's no better thing like when they when
- 13:54Speaker 1: you think about it, when they if you go remake
- 13:56Speaker 1: Game of Thrones, you've learned so much from a test
- 13:59Speaker 1: audience and from just your own eyes, go here's what works,
- 14:03Speaker 1: here's what doesn't work. Now we can, I mean you have.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It's such a rare position to be and to go
- 14:07Speaker 1: make something with so much new information, and so I'm
- 14:11Speaker 1: sure they tested your thing and said this doesn't work.
- 14:13Speaker 1: This does work. Obviously they love the cast. Let's keep
- 14:15Speaker 1: the cast, and you're gonna they're gonna go into production
- 14:18Speaker 1: with so much new information. I think it's a blessing
- 14:20Speaker 1: in disguise. Absolutely, remember that it's an imperfect business. Or
- 14:25Speaker 1: what if you thought you guys made the first one
- 14:28Speaker 1: with great care and all that, you don't know that
- 14:30Speaker 1: it wasn't great. It's just so weird because no one
- 14:33Speaker 1: can tell, you know. And I don't mean this to
- 14:35Speaker 1: be vindictive or anything. It's like, but it's out there too.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Like one of the stories of Ted Lasso is Jason
- 14:41Speaker 1: Saidakis and I went to every streaming site and it
- 14:44Speaker 1: wasn't a bidding war. No one bought it except Apple.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I mean, and I'm not doing it now to go
- 14:50Speaker 1: like ha ha, you know, but it's um and people
- 14:53Speaker 1: wanted to like it and they're nice people. And I
- 14:55Speaker 1: know people at different companies and they still was pass pass, pass,
- 14:58Speaker 1: pass pass, And you know, it's just kind of hard
- 15:02Speaker 1: because you're asking people to roll the dice on guessing
- 15:05Speaker 1: how people are going to react to something, and that's
- 15:07Speaker 1: kind of in exact science. You know, there's a reason
- 15:09Speaker 1: why breaking bads on AMC because every other place passed.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's so you know, it's part of the game. It's
- 15:16Speaker 1: the weirdest part is, by the way, we could all
- 15:18Speaker 1: watch the original Game of Thrones and go this is awesome.
- 15:20Speaker 1: But well, we talked. We talk about that a little
- 15:23Speaker 1: bit on the black Side when it does come out,
- 15:27Speaker 1: but we talk about how you know, Rogue one and
- 15:32Speaker 1: Solo are two not your solos act but Solo and
- 15:36Speaker 1: Rogue one are you know? Does that mean you're gonna
- 15:39Speaker 1: watch it now? But you said my title, yes, do
- 15:42Speaker 1: you think we should use downald our connections to Christ
- 15:44Speaker 1: and phil to get to see all the scenes that
- 15:46Speaker 1: they directed of Solo before they were there's a whole movie.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Apparently they directed a lot. Yeah, I would love it's
- 15:54Speaker 1: probably amazing movie. That's what's funny and snarky, and yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 1: you know those guys, man, it's a different tone and
- 16:00Speaker 1: we're used to in that world. Well your buddies with them,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you probably could get access to say, hey, guys, let's
- 16:04Speaker 1: get super baked and watch. They got mad at me once,
- 16:07Speaker 1: and I think lovingly mad. We had to do a
- 16:10Speaker 1: Qune high panel for something because we all still love
- 16:13Speaker 1: that show and they are so lovely and diplomatic. Because
- 16:16Speaker 1: someone there's a time when everybody was immediately going like
- 16:19Speaker 1: what happened with Solo? How do you feel about so?
- 16:21Speaker 1: And uh? And just because I love them, not because
- 16:23Speaker 1: I was trying to be mean, but I'm like, I
- 16:25Speaker 1: hope the new Solo is awful, and I hope it
- 16:27Speaker 1: absolutely shits the bed, and I hope everybody. I wish
- 16:32Speaker 1: Chris and Phil's version was out, because that's what I think.
- 16:34Speaker 1: And then they were like, dude, you just kept this
- 16:36Speaker 1: thing going in a way around Yeah, think about them,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I mean think about that. I mean what that must
- 16:45Speaker 1: have I mean not that obviously they don't have any
- 16:47Speaker 1: trouble with self esteem, I imagine, but think about what
- 16:50Speaker 1: that must have felt like to them, Like you're directing
- 16:52Speaker 1: the biggest franchise in the world and you get replaced.
- 16:55Speaker 1: That's oh but you know, you know what. But here's
- 16:58Speaker 1: the thing. You know what came after they got replaced
- 17:00Speaker 1: by Solo Spider Verse, one of the dopest superhero movies
- 17:06Speaker 1: in the history of superhero movies. Yea, so good, you
- 17:09Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like your favorite, right, one of
- 17:11Speaker 1: your favorites. That's my favorite spider Man movie. That's one
- 17:13Speaker 1: of my favorite Superman that superhero movies. That and for Ragnaratte.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I hear they're making Are they making a black Superman movie?
- 17:21Speaker 1: There's ears been confirmed. There's there's two black super there
- 17:27Speaker 1: are two black Superman. I think we need to set
- 17:29Speaker 1: start doing your audition tape. His name is Michael B. Jordan. Dude,
- 17:33Speaker 1: come on with it. It's gonna be it's gonna come on.
- 17:35Speaker 1: If it's gonna be anybody that's my favorite com by mom, buddy.
- 17:39Speaker 1: If it's gonna be anybody before me, it's gonna be
- 17:42Speaker 1: Michael B. Jordan. If you come over to my garden.
- 17:44Speaker 1: We can dress you up and do audition videos. I'll
- 17:50Speaker 1: cables to make you fuitionition. Listen to it for fun.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Michael Jordan's tape isn't gonna have him rigged the cables.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I will if we if the three of us, you
- 18:01Speaker 1: know that this week could make people, says, I will
- 18:03Speaker 1: work my butt off writing and funding a super I'll
- 18:08Speaker 1: right and fund of Superman scene. I don't even know
- 18:10Speaker 1: what exists. Back will direct it. We'll use good effects,
- 18:13Speaker 1: and we'll let's just do it one that may not exist.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Now that we have Bill's budget, we can go huge
- 18:20Speaker 1: with it. We can go crazy huge with it. It
- 18:22Speaker 1: remind me, It reminds me of funny Bill story. Right,
- 18:25Speaker 1: So Amanda includes his little boy Elvis Nick and Amanda's
- 18:28Speaker 1: little boy, Elvis is obsessed like many boys where I
- 18:30Speaker 1: believe your son was to be Donald with trash trucks. Yes,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and everyone that we all love this little boys. We're
- 18:35Speaker 1: all buying them trash trucks, and the trash truck toys
- 18:38Speaker 1: keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Everyone's trying to
- 18:40Speaker 1: out trash truck. And of course, because I guess this
- 18:43Speaker 1: is a little boy thing. There's a zillion trash truck toys.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And Bill's over and the kid's over and he's playing
- 18:48Speaker 1: with the trash truck and I'm like, this is my
- 18:50Speaker 1: entry into the contest. And Bill takes one look and
- 18:52Speaker 1: he turns to Amanda goes, I'm going to buy him
- 18:55Speaker 1: an actual trash truck. That kid's life. He would be
- 19:04Speaker 1: so happy if that happened too. He would just sitting. Dude,
- 19:09Speaker 1: that boy's beautiful. Says that when the when they have
- 19:12Speaker 1: the when they when they hear the beeping noises of
- 19:14Speaker 1: the trash trucks, his face lights up and he sprints
- 19:18Speaker 1: to the door to go watch them do their thing.
- 19:20Speaker 1: But I remember Rocco had like a trash truck birthday,
- 19:22Speaker 1: kig right, Donald, Yeah, he loved trash trucks and for
- 19:26Speaker 1: a really long time we had to buy him little
- 19:29Speaker 1: tiny trash cans and it couldn't be the same color.
- 19:32Speaker 1: That had to be like a blue, a green, and
- 19:34Speaker 1: a black one to represent you know, recycling track all
- 19:38Speaker 1: that stuff, right, And he would walk around and so
- 19:41Speaker 1: the trash truck that he had, the lifter, broke, so
- 19:45Speaker 1: we had to buy him tongs so he could pretend
- 19:48Speaker 1: he was lifting the trash truck and dumping the trash.
- 19:52Speaker 1: In Christmas, his grandmother, my mother, bought him a bunch
- 19:57Speaker 1: of shredded paper from her office, Like it was like
- 20:01Speaker 1: a bunch of shredded sides. And he took that thing
- 20:04Speaker 1: in my house for like at least two weeks until
- 20:09Speaker 1: Casey was like enough with the motherfucking trash was littered
- 20:14Speaker 1: with shredded paper all over the place. It was all good,
- 20:18Speaker 1: but Casey wasn't having it at the end. But it
- 20:20Speaker 1: was such a like the love of trash trucks that
- 20:24Speaker 1: kids have. It's it's amazing. It's no you know. Mandy
- 20:28Speaker 1: was telling me that in the trash truck cab, the
- 20:29Speaker 1: drivers have all these drawings from children because they love
- 20:32Speaker 1: trash trucks so much. It's so sweet. They can't help it.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's like one of the coolest things ever to them.
- 20:37Speaker 1: And and I was we were like, wow, Rocco really
- 20:40Speaker 1: loves this. He's taking a really long time in this phase.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And they were like, and somebody said to us, it's
- 20:46Speaker 1: because he's trying to figure out how they work. How
- 20:48Speaker 1: does the arm work, what's that sound for, why does
- 20:51Speaker 1: it deep when it's backing up. How come he can
- 20:53Speaker 1: hear it all the way from down the block? You
- 20:55Speaker 1: know what I mean? House, This dude has his legs
- 20:58Speaker 1: up on the coffee table with his little snack watching
- 21:01Speaker 1: YouTube videos of trash trucks. That was Rocko, and we
- 21:06Speaker 1: would have to put on like the hour and a
- 21:08Speaker 1: half version of it, and all it is a show him.
- 21:11Speaker 1: She wants to show him. I'm fucking a normal kid show.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And he just wants to watch videos of trash trucks
- 21:16Speaker 1: all around the world, right, and it has to be
- 21:18Speaker 1: specific ones too. The arm, I mean the arm obviously
- 21:21Speaker 1: cool part, you know, always one right? All right, Bill,
- 21:24Speaker 1: we do not want you to count us in. We're
- 21:26Speaker 1: begging you not to count us. Don't you join Bill?
- 21:29Speaker 1: You want to do it. I want to do it.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Stories about show we made about a bunch of domes
- 21:38Speaker 1: and nurses said the stories yeadoo around here? Are yeadoo
- 21:49Speaker 1: around here? Who is Bonnie psycho Wits? Bill? She wrote
- 21:58Speaker 1: this episode. Bonnie psych Wits is a young comedy writer
- 22:03Speaker 1: married to Mike psych Witz, who I wrote with on Friends,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and she wrote on for Gary Goldberg for a good
- 22:12Speaker 1: period of time, And so I had known her for
- 22:13Speaker 1: a while, So how did that work? Just explain to
- 22:15Speaker 1: people on the business that occasionally a writer outside the
- 22:18Speaker 1: normal writers room will write a script. What's that about.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Back in the old days with network shows, especially when
- 22:22Speaker 1: there'd be twenty two to like twenty six episodes, you
- 22:24Speaker 1: would sometimes assign a couple of freelance scripts out because
- 22:28Speaker 1: there are ways for writers that kind of you know,
- 22:30Speaker 1: we're still you know, kind of trying to find their
- 22:32Speaker 1: way onto a staff to make some money and find
- 22:37Speaker 1: an in into the guild and to help insurance and
- 22:39Speaker 1: all that stuff. And you know, is the equivalent of
- 22:41Speaker 1: the old days? Is that not a thing anymore? Yeah?
- 22:43Speaker 1: Nowadays it's it's almost the same price to have a
- 22:46Speaker 1: staff writer, you know what. They change the system a
- 22:48Speaker 1: little bit so that like when you see a staff
- 22:50Speaker 1: writer on a show, they don't get paid for the
- 22:52Speaker 1: scripts even if they write one. Staff writers And so
- 22:54Speaker 1: I think the Guild was trying to create a situation
- 22:57Speaker 1: that it was almost the same price to have a
- 23:00Speaker 1: daff writer for six or eight weeks, so they get
- 23:02Speaker 1: the experience of being on a staff as it was
- 23:04Speaker 1: to give some of the freelance script. Got it. I
- 23:06Speaker 1: never knew that. And I believe this is Victor Nelly's
- 23:08Speaker 1: first episode. Do you know if that's the true or not.
- 23:11Speaker 1: You should check it out. But he became a regular
- 23:13Speaker 1: on this. He's a good looked at it for me.
- 23:14Speaker 1: He's a very good dude, and he's a very good director.
- 23:16Speaker 1: And um, I don't think it was his first episode.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I think his first episode was the one where we're
- 23:23Speaker 1: at the funeral and uh, George, not the famous funeral,
- 23:27Speaker 1: George Wallace. Funeral George Wallace. Yeah, George Wallace imagining someone's
- 23:32Speaker 1: funeral and you imagine yourself being dead, fooling everybody so
- 23:36Speaker 1: that you could, uh George Wallace, like the party all
- 23:38Speaker 1: the time, it's you imagining your funeral. That was That
- 23:41Speaker 1: was a Victor Victor Nellie episode. I think that was
- 23:44Speaker 1: first for those of you. This is four twenty two
- 23:47Speaker 1: and we're flashing back to the moment where Carla and
- 23:50Speaker 1: I kiss. Now, in rewatching the kiss, you do see
- 23:53Speaker 1: that lips are parted. Lips are definitely it looks it
- 23:56Speaker 1: does it's not. It doesn't look innocent and all times
- 23:59Speaker 1: are not pursed. Bro, it does not look innocent at all.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You guys are drinking a deal. It's like as a
- 24:06Speaker 1: pruder tape, You're like, okay, let me look, Oh no,
- 24:10Speaker 1: did you say as an accident? And she's giggling and
- 24:12Speaker 1: you're both supposed to be hammered. You seem to enjoy
- 24:14Speaker 1: it too much as actual actor actress though, I mean
- 24:17Speaker 1: the real people. I feel like the real j D
- 24:20Speaker 1: and the real Judy enjoyed it. Well. Listen, I gotta
- 24:22Speaker 1: say I we talked about this last week, um, and
- 24:25Speaker 1: I was very upset watching it because I was like,
- 24:27Speaker 1: I would never This is Victor's first directing episode, so
- 24:32Speaker 1: Bill and I Bill, you weren't here last week. But Donald,
- 24:35Speaker 1: we're very upset watching this kiss because it just felt wrong,
- 24:37Speaker 1: even this many years later. But um, but no, as
- 24:40Speaker 1: you rewatch it, it wasn't just a purse lip kiss.
- 24:42Speaker 1: There was there were there were opened lips. There was
- 24:45Speaker 1: no tongue, but the lips were the lips were open.
- 24:47Speaker 1: But I was like a lip sandwich, layers of a
- 24:49Speaker 1: lip sandwich. You look, it's soap opera. It's a it's
- 24:52Speaker 1: why it's a it's a. It's a metaphor for I
- 24:54Speaker 1: feel this where this episode comes in time and when
- 24:58Speaker 1: where your podcast is right. It was just so interesting
- 25:01Speaker 1: because it's it's like the halfway point, you know what
- 25:03Speaker 1: I mean for this show, and on the one hand,
- 25:06Speaker 1: we knew what we were doing and there's a lot
- 25:08Speaker 1: of funny stuff. On the other hand, you know, I
- 25:10Speaker 1: felt like this is right where the show was teetering
- 25:13Speaker 1: a little bit. We could have easily gotten tired, you
- 25:15Speaker 1: know what I mean, because we had done I think
- 25:17Speaker 1: we had done almost eighty something episodes of the show
- 25:19Speaker 1: by now, you know, and yeah, exactly and that. But
- 25:23Speaker 1: instead that, you know, I felt like everybody kind of
- 25:25Speaker 1: reinvigorated themselves the fifth season and went absolutely bat nuts crazy.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So the so it's season it's a very is a
- 25:33Speaker 1: very good one, I remember. But it's a lot of pressure,
- 25:35Speaker 1: don't you guys feeling the pressure on your podcast right
- 25:37Speaker 1: now in terms of if you go along, go along,
- 25:40Speaker 1: go along? You know, this is what's so interesting. When
- 25:42Speaker 1: you used to do shows for nine years, you reach
- 25:44Speaker 1: a point that you know how to do it, you're
- 25:46Speaker 1: doing it well and people enjoy it. But it's very
- 25:49Speaker 1: easy to get overly comfortable and complace it right, and
- 25:52Speaker 1: so then you have to go, do we either mix
- 25:53Speaker 1: it up or do we reinvigorate. Yeah, well, we're trying
- 25:55Speaker 1: to do that in a sense because we also love
- 25:58Speaker 1: the four of us love doing it so much, and
- 26:00Speaker 1: we see obviously there's a there's an end to it,
- 26:03Speaker 1: and we go, well, that's why we've been folding in
- 26:05Speaker 1: some interviews here and there, because we we all kind
- 26:08Speaker 1: of want to find a way to keep doing. We
- 26:09Speaker 1: jokingly say we're gonna do a rewatch podcast of another show,
- 26:12Speaker 1: but I think you should do a rewisten podcast of
- 26:16Speaker 1: the original podcast. I think you should go back. I
- 26:20Speaker 1: think you re listen to this and then evaluate each
- 26:23Speaker 1: episode and where you're getting. I don't know. I like,
- 26:27Speaker 1: I think we have fun when we really I mean,
- 26:29Speaker 1: I know it's sort of everyone's doing it, but we
- 26:32Speaker 1: really do like enjoy interviewing people that are super interesting
- 26:35Speaker 1: and and maybe maybe we'll do our own version of that.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I don't know, to be determined. We also we have
- 26:40Speaker 1: to think about it for four more seasons. So I
- 26:43Speaker 1: also think I would love watching you guys do a
- 26:45Speaker 1: rewatch podcast of a show that neither of you is on.
- 26:48Speaker 1: We're on in case you have different opinions and stuff
- 26:50Speaker 1: like that. I still let's rewatch the Office because there's
- 26:55Speaker 1: already been a rewatch podcast, but Donald doesn't want to
- 26:58Speaker 1: do that, and I want to do a different world
- 27:00Speaker 1: Old Man or something like that that such area try
- 27:05Speaker 1: to do that well. I mean, I could joke about
- 27:07Speaker 1: dramas all day. I think it has to No, No,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I think I think it's the obvious thing is it
- 27:12Speaker 1: has to be a show with an overlapping fan base
- 27:15Speaker 1: the Scrubs like Community or something where it's where it's
- 27:18Speaker 1: the people that listen to this and love Scrubs, you know,
- 27:22Speaker 1: feel the same way about another show, and we you know,
- 27:24Speaker 1: then they then they all stay tuned. That seems logical,
- 27:27Speaker 1: and we should do short lived shows so each season
- 27:29Speaker 1: is like we should do like Parker Lewis, can't lose
- 27:32Speaker 1: development what I mean, Yeah, shows that were really good.
- 27:36Speaker 1: But we could do comedies we grew up with, like
- 27:39Speaker 1: you know, Eddie Murphy movies of the eighties. You know,
- 27:41Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I could talk about I could talk
- 27:43Speaker 1: about Eddie Murphy all day long, you know that, buddy?
- 27:48Speaker 1: All right, we let's keep going. So Christa and that Wow,
- 27:52Speaker 1: I wrote down. I wrote down the words lucky Man, Bill,
- 27:55Speaker 1: I wrote down between your bosoms ma'am made me happy.
- 28:00Speaker 1: He looks fantastic. I don't know if I could. I
- 28:04Speaker 1: think my wife has an amazing body, but I don't
- 28:06Speaker 1: know if I would show it off to everyone. Yes,
- 28:09Speaker 1: you'd be proud of that. Well there was that one time.
- 28:11Speaker 1: You're right, well, your wife is on Your wife is
- 28:16Speaker 1: very sexy and um, and I think he would be
- 28:19Speaker 1: proud to see. There was that one time. I do remember,
- 28:22Speaker 1: but I was shit facing drunk, and yeah, there was
- 28:24Speaker 1: that one time. But yes, look Krista. To give Krista props.
- 28:27Speaker 1: She's so shit you know about she's so game for
- 28:30Speaker 1: anything man, and her willingness to poke fun of herself
- 28:32Speaker 1: and this thing, and it really made me laugh and small.
- 28:34Speaker 1: But the crazy thing is she doesn't look old at all.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I know, she looks hot. She looks hot as balls.
- 28:39Speaker 1: That dude's freaking. That dude's gay. That's why that's funny.
- 28:44Speaker 1: What's funny is I assume he's supposed to be like
- 28:46Speaker 1: the son of the next neighbor, but it looks like
- 28:48Speaker 1: he lives there alone for some reasons like Tom Hanks
- 28:52Speaker 1: in Big Why does this child live across the hall
- 28:54Speaker 1: from that? Um? And uh he but anyway, he calls
- 29:01Speaker 1: her mam, which spirals her out because she does not
- 29:04Speaker 1: like being called ma'm uh. You know I liked in
- 29:07Speaker 1: the very next scene. And you guys got to tell
- 29:09Speaker 1: me if you remember if she had better memories about
- 29:10Speaker 1: this being on set. I think this is one of
- 29:12Speaker 1: the last times that Ken Jenkins did his own stunt.
- 29:16Speaker 1: And he does his own fall and I do two
- 29:19Speaker 1: of those two and yeah, and he did what I do.
- 29:24Speaker 1: He does the what I do at a much younger age,
- 29:26Speaker 1: which was hurl. I mean, you have a map, but
- 29:28Speaker 1: you're still hurling yourself into the air and landing on
- 29:30Speaker 1: your back and uh. And he went for it, he
- 29:32Speaker 1: really did. I really like the next line too, because
- 29:34Speaker 1: then the janitor says, well, I've got you here, sir.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Right after the janitor is waxing the floors, and then
- 29:42Speaker 1: when because he wants a new uniform, he's taught and
- 29:44Speaker 1: he has drawings of the uniforms. I don't know if
- 29:47Speaker 1: you guys noticed a weird This is just for you
- 29:48Speaker 1: film geeks. There's like a there's a weird focus thing
- 29:51Speaker 1: on when the janitor is presenting his uniform ideas. Did
- 29:55Speaker 1: you notice that at all? I focuses on Ken's ear,
- 29:58Speaker 1: not the janitor. I didn't notice it. I I just
- 30:00Speaker 1: liked we did this a lot writing wise on this show.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And I can give you guys other examples. At one
- 30:06Speaker 1: point we were going to show all the pictures he drew,
- 30:09Speaker 1: and then we're like, it's funnier if we don't show them,
- 30:11Speaker 1: and people are just wondering drew, and we told Neil
- 30:16Speaker 1: to make stuff up because one of them was, that's
- 30:18Speaker 1: just a kangaroo sometimes I drawed kangaroo. Well, uh yeah,
- 30:26Speaker 1: so the janitor really wants to wait, we're skipping. One
- 30:29Speaker 1: other joke kindled the ground at the as this same
- 30:34Speaker 1: thing of the sign. It kind of reminded me of
- 30:36Speaker 1: when Scott Harris fell and they put the white tape
- 30:39Speaker 1: around where he fell and it stayed there for like
- 30:44Speaker 1: like it stayed there for like eight seasons. Scott Harris,
- 30:48Speaker 1: for the audience, was one of our assistant directors. And
- 30:50Speaker 1: I guess he fell and then the grips outlined his
- 30:53Speaker 1: body like he had been murdered with white tape. Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I think he broke something. He messed up his he
- 30:58Speaker 1: know he had he had a concussion. Yo. Okay, So
- 31:01Speaker 1: the first time. This is one of the best, Like,
- 31:04Speaker 1: this is one of the He's one of my good friends,
- 31:06Speaker 1: and so I can clown him a little bit and
- 31:08Speaker 1: he won't get upset about this season. I guess it
- 31:11Speaker 1: was season two. We're doing a basketball scene and we're
- 31:17Speaker 1: shooting around, and Bill would come to set whenever we
- 31:19Speaker 1: did basketball scenes and play around and play ball, and
- 31:22Speaker 1: you know, we'd let the extras play and everything like that,
- 31:25Speaker 1: and we'd always you know. But then it got time
- 31:27Speaker 1: to where we had to shoot and I was dunking
- 31:29Speaker 1: because we lowered the rim a little bit, and I'm
- 31:31Speaker 1: dunking and Scott said something stupid to me, something like
- 31:35Speaker 1: if it were a higher you couldn't do that. And
- 31:38Speaker 1: I said something like, you couldn't do that right now.
- 31:41Speaker 1: And I passed him the ball and he made the
- 31:43Speaker 1: face like I got this, and he dribbled and went
- 31:47Speaker 1: one two and blew his knee out. Three days later, Yeah, yeah,
- 31:55Speaker 1: out for the rest of the season. For the rest
- 31:57Speaker 1: of the season done. He didn't work on the show,
- 32:00Speaker 1: but the whole scenes is heard out, how's your how's
- 32:02Speaker 1: your leg? Zach? You got chopped on how's your a?
- 32:05Speaker 1: Bit by a Rot Wilder um if, oh my god,
- 32:09Speaker 1: what yes, do what everybody now? I'm fine. Um, it
- 32:14Speaker 1: was a it was a stunt with the dog. The
- 32:17Speaker 1: dog was trained to hold a throw blanket off of me.
- 32:21Speaker 1: And it's not the dog's fault. Um. The dog was
- 32:23Speaker 1: a beautiful dog and well trained. Um. But in the
- 32:27Speaker 1: joke is that I'm wrestling with the throw with the
- 32:29Speaker 1: dog and the blanket got pulled too close to my
- 32:33Speaker 1: arm and the dog just chopped down on my side. Zach,
- 32:37Speaker 1: Zach set me u screenshots of it, and it is
- 32:42Speaker 1: it's good and gross. Yes, well you got to see
- 32:44Speaker 1: my boxers. I'm sorry. Okay, it's okay, it's okay. Don't die, dude,
- 32:49Speaker 1: how do I show you this? That's just you're gonna
- 32:53Speaker 1: get it. You're gonna get it. Hey, oh oh my
- 32:59Speaker 1: chop that bruise too, jesus, Oh my god. That's a
- 33:02Speaker 1: chump getting bit by a rot while it hurts right.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Oh fuck, I'm so sorry that happened. I'm glad, you're okay.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I had to be immediately be like because the kids
- 33:11Speaker 1: were there. I didn't want the kids to be scared,
- 33:12Speaker 1: because again, it wasn't the dog's fault and it's you know,
- 33:15Speaker 1: it's basically a stunt gunner rye and shit happens. But
- 33:17Speaker 1: I was like holding it together, holding it together, and
- 33:19Speaker 1: I was like, I need a quick break. And then
- 33:21Speaker 1: they got all the kids out of the room and
- 33:22Speaker 1: I'm like, but I wanted to go. I was crying
- 33:27Speaker 1: on the inside. What does the dog have more scenes
- 33:29Speaker 1: in the movie or now? Um? The dog had seen
- 33:32Speaker 1: the next day and I was like, it was like
- 33:34Speaker 1: I was mad at it. We like we were like
- 33:35Speaker 1: we like had we like looked at each other and
- 33:36Speaker 1: then looked away from each other. No, again, it wasn't
- 33:42Speaker 1: in interrupting Bill on the show. Bill still interrupted interrupting
- 33:53Speaker 1: Bill Um quick question, Uh did Zach talk about getting
- 33:59Speaker 1: bit and buy a Rottwoerd today? Yeah, but only a
- 34:02Speaker 1: little bit, not of time. He was he was sad
- 34:05Speaker 1: about kay Um. Follow up question, follow up questions, Bill's
- 34:10Speaker 1: answer to bring it up on his own or Bill,
- 34:12Speaker 1: this is for you. Did you have to prompt him
- 34:15Speaker 1: about it? Um to set up this joke. I was surprised,
- 34:19Speaker 1: but I had to actually ask him about it because
- 34:24Speaker 1: I thought, you love makes sense. Actually it was probably
- 34:29Speaker 1: pretty painful, all right, Uh, Zach Donald Love the show? Bill,
- 34:34Speaker 1: you're killing it. Thanks. Oh my god, you are so ridiculous.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I love that you ended your own interruption by a
- 34:42Speaker 1: compliment of yourself. Who's the best thing ever? Oh my god,
- 34:54Speaker 1: you are so ridiculous. All right, we're gonna bring on.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I know it's gonna break right back. And we're back.
- 35:12Speaker 1: We've lost Donald. Oh my god, you're ridiculous. All right,
- 35:20Speaker 1: we're back, We're back. We're back. Yeah, we're back. Oh
- 35:24Speaker 1: my gosh, i'd say is mix it up a little bit.
- 35:29Speaker 1: That's why you get paid the big bucks. You're funny show.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Oh gosh, um, yeah, I get pit by Rotwader. But
- 35:34Speaker 1: I'm okay, and I can cross it. I can cross
- 35:38Speaker 1: it off my bucket list bit by Rottweader. Yes, Oh
- 35:41Speaker 1: it's fun um. So Jordan decides to boat TX her
- 35:45Speaker 1: face and Chris did a very funny job. Like literally
- 35:49Speaker 1: the only things that it doesn't even her lips don't
- 35:51Speaker 1: even move, it's just her teeth. She's like, and can
- 35:54Speaker 1: ask you guys a question, by the way about this
- 35:56Speaker 1: you and YouTube because it's Chris. What I said before,
- 35:59Speaker 1: She's game for all this stuff. When I asked her
- 36:01Speaker 1: to do it, She's like, you know that what happens
- 36:03Speaker 1: to all women on all shows is whether it's true
- 36:06Speaker 1: or not. Is true, A little is not true, a lot, whatever,
- 36:09Speaker 1: it is your main Internet traffic. What you hit forty
- 36:12Speaker 1: is work done? Picture of her face? Tire? Look at
- 36:15Speaker 1: her cheeks here? Yeah, and do you guys get these
- 36:17Speaker 1: guys to people do it to men and they say old,
- 36:20Speaker 1: that's true. They just did it too, that's true. That's true. Clearly,
- 36:25Speaker 1: he clearly did something. Something happened, something happened to him.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I mean, come on, I don't know what it was,
- 36:30Speaker 1: but something happened there. I mean, so interesting. If he
- 36:34Speaker 1: loves it, he loves it to each of their own. Hey,
- 36:36Speaker 1: but no, Donald and I you know, I just I
- 36:39Speaker 1: just I just shake my head at this point. But
- 36:40Speaker 1: whenever I post a picture of myself, someone be like, oh,
- 36:43Speaker 1: you got old, it's so sad. Or Donald gets taught
- 36:45Speaker 1: you they say he's tired, tired. I'm tired all the time.
- 36:47Speaker 1: But that was when I was smoking a crap ton
- 36:49Speaker 1: of weeks. Yeah, you do your skin, so you're probably
- 36:51Speaker 1: a little sleepy. Yeah. Well, now did he know he
- 36:54Speaker 1: because he because he stopped smoking so much? Is he
- 36:56Speaker 1: looks I stopped smoking period. Dude, I did you really? Yeah,
- 37:00Speaker 1: smoke weed right now, and I don't drink right now.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I've had a couple of drinks here and there, but like,
- 37:05Speaker 1: for the most part, I'm a sober man. I'm about
- 37:08Speaker 1: to hit four months no booze. My daughter said she
- 37:11Speaker 1: is California sober, which I did not know, but apparently
- 37:15Speaker 1: amongst the kids means weed only. Really no booze. That's great.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Oh my god, imagine doing that at twenty years old.
- 37:21Speaker 1: That's very advanced. Good for her. She just say, she
- 37:24Speaker 1: just said that. She's like, it made me happy because
- 37:27Speaker 1: you know, it's always scary to think, I mean, any
- 37:29Speaker 1: of your kids out there drinking, you know. But uh yeah,
- 37:33Speaker 1: she said, anytime I drink, I feel shitty the next day.
- 37:36Speaker 1: And she went to go home and go to bed
- 37:38Speaker 1: and h why bother. Wow, that's very very, very very
- 37:43Speaker 1: mature at twenty years old, because I was the opposite.
- 37:47Speaker 1: But I feel dude, I love the mornings now. I
- 37:50Speaker 1: never thought i'd be a morning person. So this is
- 37:52Speaker 1: just a disclaimer out there for all of you listening.
- 37:55Speaker 1: We're not telling you that you need to be sober
- 37:59Speaker 1: or say this or people fill our Instagram with like,
- 38:02Speaker 1: don't tell me what to do. We don't give it right,
- 38:05Speaker 1: you are. Everybody that likes this podcast needs to stop
- 38:09Speaker 1: drinking the point no point pound cloth. I do have
- 38:17Speaker 1: to say, though, pound your white cloth. Yeah, go have
- 38:22Speaker 1: your hot girl summer and pound. You know what I've
- 38:24Speaker 1: done is an old guy. I just cut it down
- 38:25Speaker 1: to two days a week tops, you know what I mean?
- 38:28Speaker 1: And because never having the silly couple of drinks that
- 38:30Speaker 1: go nowhere and just make you feel like shit the
- 38:32Speaker 1: next day. That's my big I just I just don't
- 38:34Speaker 1: you know it's it definitely is uh in my forties thing.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I noticed that I'm just less tired with you know,
- 38:39Speaker 1: and I'm not I'm not like full on like I'm
- 38:42Speaker 1: sure this summer I'm gonna have some drinks. I just
- 38:44Speaker 1: mean that, like, I noticeably feel better without drinking every
- 38:47Speaker 1: day or every other day. Anyway. Back to the show, right, guys,
- 38:50Speaker 1: let's talk about how JD says I can't use lip bomb.
- 38:54Speaker 1: I always end up eating it whatever. When I was little,
- 38:58Speaker 1: I used to spread it on cracking um. That is disgusting, gross.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I don't know where the hell you came up with that. William.
- 39:09Speaker 1: But dude, there's a lot of funny jokes in this man.
- 39:14Speaker 1: When I go, you kissed my wife? You know what?
- 39:16Speaker 1: That was inspired by? No, you shit on my house,
- 39:21Speaker 1: can't buy me love? Do you remember that? Yes? So
- 39:24Speaker 1: the way I say you kissed my wife is very
- 39:26Speaker 1: similar to how uh friends you fuck my wife? No? No, no,
- 39:33Speaker 1: that's a different cadence right there. Sorry, sorry. I liked
- 39:36Speaker 1: that Donald. I liked that Donald was able to Turk
- 39:39Speaker 1: was able to tell JD to sit on the floor
- 39:41Speaker 1: calmly in anger, and JD just does sit on the um. Now,
- 39:53Speaker 1: when the girls kissed to do it? Did you cut
- 39:55Speaker 1: away from that on purpose? Built because you didn't show it? Yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 1: we cut away on a person. It was just going
- 40:00Speaker 1: on pert one across the world. Did you have to
- 40:02Speaker 1: cut away with it like a sensory thing? No? No,
- 40:05Speaker 1: Look it was what I said before. It's like we
- 40:07Speaker 1: started to become enamored with and it also with Elliott
- 40:09Speaker 1: and the fantasy that they's got, the sexual fantasy that
- 40:13Speaker 1: guy Josh Randall has is we always think it's funny.
- 40:16Speaker 1: We got obsessed with jokes that the audience doesn't get
- 40:19Speaker 1: to see, and they just imagine like so in this
- 40:21Speaker 1: one it was just say you remember it was um
- 40:24Speaker 1: the drawings that you don't get to see. The janitor
- 40:27Speaker 1: changes off camera a number of times. I think one
- 40:30Speaker 1: of them. Zac says, who gets a tattoo of a mop?
- 40:33Speaker 1: He has a secret mop tattoo? Yeah, and then and
- 40:36Speaker 1: then it was uh, Judy and uh, I mean and
- 40:39Speaker 1: Carlo kissing. Yeah, well so they're kissing and we don't
- 40:42Speaker 1: see it, thanks a lot, Bill and um, and they
- 40:44Speaker 1: cut to Todd down in the cafeterias about to eat
- 40:47Speaker 1: a giant, very fallic hot dog, and he says, something
- 40:51Speaker 1: wonderful is happening. Yeah. I love that he's got a
- 40:55Speaker 1: giant ballicot dog. Because later when the janitor says, and
- 40:59Speaker 1: that's supposed at least right surgeon, right, So the janitor
- 41:05Speaker 1: has waxed everything, no matter where Kelsa goes. He waxed
- 41:08Speaker 1: the counter. That was funny, and the phone that was
- 41:12Speaker 1: really funny. We did a good job of of shooting
- 41:18Speaker 1: uh some of these site gags. I laughed and then up, Um. Yeah,
- 41:23Speaker 1: by the way, I watched Girls five EVA. Have you
- 41:25Speaker 1: seen him? It's it's it's very Scrubs esque funny. It's
- 41:28Speaker 1: Funny and John Inwood shooting it, our our cinematographer who
- 41:31Speaker 1: shot our whole show. He became a good director. Good
- 41:34Speaker 1: Donald Uh Deonte kisses uh Johnny's hand. Yeah, that's what
- 41:42Speaker 1: makes me laugh so hard. I didn't know that says
- 41:45Speaker 1: you have a god complex. He's like, no, I don't.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I didn't recognize him without his puka shell choker. But um, um,
- 41:57Speaker 1: so the janitor we learned has the tattoo of up
- 42:00Speaker 1: as Bill said, and um what about that fantasy the
- 42:03Speaker 1: turk has where I just I started making it with
- 42:05Speaker 1: Judy and I put her legs up. I put the
- 42:07Speaker 1: legs I'm Judy as performers are having too much fun.
- 42:13Speaker 1: I want to hear Donald's take on it, but I
- 42:15Speaker 1: don't think it's said in the script that he puts
- 42:18Speaker 1: her leg over fun. Remember when Sarah was dressed as
- 42:23Speaker 1: a naughty nurse. What we're talking about, we want something
- 42:26Speaker 1: different right now, And we were joking around like it
- 42:28Speaker 1: felt like kissing my sister. This doesn't look like you
- 42:31Speaker 1: guys felt like you were kissing. This looked like some
- 42:34Speaker 1: pent up sexual energy that you had. Judy is fine
- 42:38Speaker 1: as hell and was happy to pretend to make out
- 42:41Speaker 1: with her. Let's put it that way, but putting her
- 42:43Speaker 1: leg up, I'm sure in the script didn't say he
- 42:45Speaker 1: then puts her leg but I did not write. I
- 42:48Speaker 1: did not write he then grabs her leg and puts
- 42:50Speaker 1: it over his own soul. But it was funny though
- 42:56Speaker 1: it was funny. Um, what about yes? So then Todd
- 43:00Speaker 1: goes that color really brings out your package with the janitor.
- 43:06Speaker 1: So the janitor is all thrown out of whack because
- 43:08Speaker 1: no one finds him scary in it is it is
- 43:14Speaker 1: uh an rip uh moment. But my favorite version of
- 43:18Speaker 1: it is seeing Sam Lloyd not terrified by the janitor
- 43:21Speaker 1: for a and h He's got his orange tie. That's
- 43:28Speaker 1: the best one. He gets punched. At the end, he goes, oh,
- 43:30Speaker 1: I'm going home because Kelso has done the research. The
- 43:35Speaker 1: yellow makes people angry and the janet and Sam Lloyd
- 43:38Speaker 1: gets keep getting punched because he's wearing a yellow time
- 43:41Speaker 1: just in the same arm. Um. I saw a moment
- 43:45Speaker 1: we jumped over that remind me how funny Sarah Chalk
- 43:48Speaker 1: is because she talks about being a teen girl and
- 43:50Speaker 1: that's the age that your breasts grow, and then she
- 43:53Speaker 1: casually says not always symmetrically. Spoiler aler, is that really
- 44:01Speaker 1: a thing I wondered to breast grow a set? Yes?
- 44:05Speaker 1: It was really not. Always that's funny, Sarah, Sarah really is.
- 44:17Speaker 1: So it was really funny in this episode. Oh, she
- 44:19Speaker 1: was so good at it. She blamed his curls. You know,
- 44:21Speaker 1: John that um Carla's sucking on my fingers. Yeah, that
- 44:27Speaker 1: got that got See what I'm saying, and that's my face.
- 44:30Speaker 1: But I'm in ecstasy. Yeah. I laughed really hard at that.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I've got my eyes rolled back in my head and
- 44:37Speaker 1: I'm like, and my lips are moving. Yeah. By the way,
- 44:40Speaker 1: it's when it pans over to you and finds you.
- 44:42Speaker 1: I did not expect that and had forgotten that joke.
- 44:44Speaker 1: There's two jokes I had forgotten I wrote down, and
- 44:47Speaker 1: they're both in a row. One is I had forgotten
- 44:49Speaker 1: that when she was sucking your fingers, we'd reveal your
- 44:51Speaker 1: eyes up in your head. And then the other one
- 44:54Speaker 1: that I forgot, which is right after that the act
- 44:56Speaker 1: break is Donald gets mad at you guys in the
- 44:59Speaker 1: cap materia, and when we come back, the whole cafeterias demolished.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Donald goes Obviously I overreacted in the world of the show,
- 45:11Speaker 1: Turk took the time to destroy the entire cafeteria. Cafeteria, Yes,
- 45:16Speaker 1: everybody's gone, And Zach, you casually have a tomato slice
- 45:19Speaker 1: on your forehead. Still I'm still trying to calm him down.
- 45:24Speaker 1: It's just like this, he's not obviously made it on
- 45:28Speaker 1: my forehead. Obviously, I obviously I got out, I got
- 45:31Speaker 1: a little out of control. No no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 45:35Speaker 1: You're fine. I mean that must have taken twenty minutes.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I mean, you really raged. We were like the home
- 45:41Speaker 1: that really made me. But again, another one of those jokes.
- 45:45Speaker 1: This is the point that we would stumble onto something
- 45:47Speaker 1: the writer's room and go, this is funny, let's try it.
- 45:49Speaker 1: But it's like the sixth joke in this show that happens.
- 45:52Speaker 1: You don't get to see it happen, you know what
- 45:54Speaker 1: I mean, You just get to imagine what happened. And
- 45:56Speaker 1: what about However, but I tell you Carla that I
- 45:59Speaker 1: had sex with Tuns turks family housekeeper, and then she
- 46:04Speaker 1: was she was buffing the nightstand, and then she just
- 46:06Speaker 1: kept that shit had me rolling too. That had me rolling,
- 46:11Speaker 1: and then the speech in between that had me rolling
- 46:13Speaker 1: where you guys are talking about who's gonna take the blame,
- 46:16Speaker 1: and you're like, thank you for you know, you tell
- 46:18Speaker 1: her thank you for taking it. She goes get out
- 46:19Speaker 1: of here. All you're gonna do is God, And then
- 46:21Speaker 1: you guys gonna be fine. He's and you're like, get
- 46:23Speaker 1: out of here. All you're gonna do is have sex
- 46:25Speaker 1: with him. And if I have sex with him, he'll
- 46:26Speaker 1: probably just end up even matter at me. No, dude.
- 46:30Speaker 1: It was the funny part about it was that I'm like,
- 46:32Speaker 1: he'll probably like, like there's anything, there's a chance I
- 46:35Speaker 1: could go either way. If I fuck him, it could
- 46:37Speaker 1: go either way, but most likely I'm leaning I'm leaning
- 46:41Speaker 1: to him being matter right. That was very funny. Now,
- 46:44Speaker 1: so normally when someone is a magazine in a TV show,
- 46:47Speaker 1: you folks not in the business, you not only don't
- 46:49Speaker 1: get the rights to the real magazine because you don't
- 46:51Speaker 1: have the rights to the pictures and everything. So they
- 46:53Speaker 1: have these fake magazines. So the teenage girl in this,
- 46:55Speaker 1: if you look at the magazine, all right, it says
- 46:58Speaker 1: totally teen on the front, right, but done on the back.
- 47:00Speaker 1: There's all these faces and they're just they're just scrambled
- 47:03Speaker 1: like no one the time, Like you could have bought
- 47:06Speaker 1: stock art of like licensable pictures of teens, like, but
- 47:09Speaker 1: they just That's what I'm telling you this is that
- 47:11Speaker 1: this is right when the show was teetering on are
- 47:13Speaker 1: we gonna mail it in? Or are we gonna were
- 47:15Speaker 1: still one in the prop department, no offense mail done
- 47:17Speaker 1: it because all they did we just scramble the teen's
- 47:19Speaker 1: faces on the back of the magazine I was mailed
- 47:23Speaker 1: it in. Is that what you're saying, don't he'll do
- 47:25Speaker 1: it first. He'll be like koolaid out of nowhere. Oh yeah,
- 47:31Speaker 1: I love our prop department. I just think it's funny
- 47:34Speaker 1: that the Teen Magazine wasn't the most believable prop ever made.
- 47:37Speaker 1: I will tell you guys that what I'm so appreciative
- 47:41Speaker 1: of you two and everybody because these are the episodes.
- 47:43Speaker 1: When I go back and watch him, I'm like, all right,
- 47:45Speaker 1: we've kind of done a story like this before, and
- 47:48Speaker 1: we're not breaking new ground with this stuff writing wise,
- 47:51Speaker 1: but the performers are so good. It's still you know,
- 47:54Speaker 1: just talking about donaldon when we come back from the
- 47:56Speaker 1: break or Zach, I bet you kept on Buffing wasn't
- 47:59Speaker 1: really we'll have to see, you know what I mean?
- 48:02Speaker 1: And uh uh And then for me right after that
- 48:06Speaker 1: because I remember this. Um. We wrote in the script
- 48:11Speaker 1: that Neil Flynn walks around with that weird camera you
- 48:15Speaker 1: know what, it's called zacht is on his face. Yeah,
- 48:17Speaker 1: there's different names for it, but it's actually mounted to
- 48:20Speaker 1: to Neil. Um and that was really clever. I'm assuring
- 48:23Speaker 1: that was a Victor Nelly thing, right or is that
- 48:24Speaker 1: you're right? Yeah? But what was it for me? Is
- 48:26Speaker 1: the inspiring part? Is all it said in the script
- 48:28Speaker 1: was Neil walks around reacting to people that aren't afraid
- 48:32Speaker 1: of him and just watching what he was riffing as
- 48:34Speaker 1: he can't because they were all extras. They would you know,
- 48:36Speaker 1: they did that, Victor did that explained to people that
- 48:39Speaker 1: there's no way he could have done those at the
- 48:40Speaker 1: same time, Victor, you know what I mean? Right? So
- 48:43Speaker 1: so that what you do is that you know, and
- 48:46Speaker 1: you've seen this in certain films before, but you're the
- 48:48Speaker 1: way to mount the camera to someone's body and uh
- 48:51Speaker 1: and uh and and we had never done a look
- 48:53Speaker 1: like that in five in four seasons of Scrubs, So
- 48:56Speaker 1: it's cool. It's a testament to Bill that a director
- 48:58Speaker 1: comes in and goes, hey, I have anna of the
- 48:59Speaker 1: bar way, how to do this sequence? Are you down
- 49:01Speaker 1: with it? And he's like, yeah, go for it, and
- 49:03Speaker 1: you know, it was kind of a unique way to
- 49:05Speaker 1: say to just show the janitor's changed perspective and just
- 49:09Speaker 1: watching him do happy birthday, all right, whatever, and once
- 49:12Speaker 1: you keep moving. Just watching Neil react to no one
- 49:15Speaker 1: is one of those inspiring moments that you guys all
- 49:17Speaker 1: have in this episode. Then it was come on, get happy?
- 49:20Speaker 1: Is that what it was? Yeah? And uh, the only
- 49:22Speaker 1: one that was scripted was stopping at Jordan, you know,
- 49:25Speaker 1: because it the director had to go and Jordan, who
- 49:27Speaker 1: has no expression, and then you'll just shakes it off
- 49:30Speaker 1: and keeps moving. Um. But the point is, you guys
- 49:34Speaker 1: are all so good. When you get a show that
- 49:36Speaker 1: lasts a long time, I don't know if I'll happen anymore.
- 49:39Speaker 1: It's the actors and actresses that carry it through the
- 49:41Speaker 1: middle when the writers get a little punch drunk and
- 49:43Speaker 1: then hopefully they kind of get reinvigorated, which I think
- 49:45Speaker 1: we really did well. Bill. I got to say, you know, um,
- 49:49Speaker 1: one thing you really set the you know, you set
- 49:53Speaker 1: the table with our ability to do this, and I'm
- 49:55Speaker 1: doing it on on Cheaper by the dozen now and
- 49:57Speaker 1: it's so fun. It's like we always get the words
- 49:59Speaker 1: as written, not of respect for all the hard work
- 50:01Speaker 1: you guys put in, and then if we have an idea,
- 50:03Speaker 1: we do it. Sometimes it's not nearly as funny. Sometimes
- 50:06Speaker 1: you just strike gold and it's funnier and um, it's
- 50:08Speaker 1: such a fun way for comedic actors to work. It's
- 50:11Speaker 1: so freeing. I love it well. It enables you to
- 50:13Speaker 1: kind of lean on each other too, especially when you're
- 50:15Speaker 1: in that grind of having to do twenty six episodes
- 50:17Speaker 1: a year or something. You know, I was one. This
- 50:20Speaker 1: was one of those years where we did more than
- 50:21Speaker 1: twenty two episodes too. I think so, I think, so
- 50:23Speaker 1: I'd have to check I have it right here. We
- 50:26Speaker 1: did twenty five. Oh, that is a lot. That's a
- 50:29Speaker 1: lot of TV. That's pretty much the whole year, almost man,
- 50:32Speaker 1: a lot of collision. Favorite a week off after three
- 50:35Speaker 1: to catch up writing wise. Yeah, and sometimes favorite memories
- 50:38Speaker 1: of the show are when you when we would come,
- 50:40Speaker 1: when you'd come to the set and we'd rehearse, and
- 50:43Speaker 1: we'd and we'd just make it better wed whether it
- 50:45Speaker 1: was your joke or our joke, or some funny blocking
- 50:48Speaker 1: or the director's idea just going this was already funny,
- 50:52Speaker 1: and we just made it ten times funnier. That was that.
- 50:54Speaker 1: That was the most fun I ever had on the Unscrubs.
- 50:56Speaker 1: I loved it. Um that's I missed those things too.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Still look at this stuff and I go, we could
- 51:01Speaker 1: have done better as right? You know what? It struck
- 51:03Speaker 1: me in this one. We should have called back rolling
- 51:07Speaker 1: your victory dance Coach? So funny did that come from?
- 51:11Speaker 1: I was laughing. It's so funny, By the way, all
- 51:16Speaker 1: we had to do this is what This is why
- 51:17Speaker 1: streaming is so cool. You didn't do this in network
- 51:20Speaker 1: because hopefully people like that, Hopefully he went on to
- 51:22Speaker 1: do other stuff, whoever that actor was, and they aren't
- 51:24Speaker 1: around your world. In a streaming version of Scrubs, uh,
- 51:28Speaker 1: Rolling the Victory Dance Coach, you would have had this
- 51:30Speaker 1: one scene and then a year later, when you did
- 51:33Speaker 1: a great victory dance impromptu as you did in the show,
- 51:36Speaker 1: you would cut to uh, you know, just the other side,
- 51:40Speaker 1: and Rolling would be there going like this, pumping his army.
- 51:46Speaker 1: But do you remember what the genesis of this was.
- 51:48Speaker 1: I don't even remember that actor at all. No, but
- 51:51Speaker 1: he was funny. He was very funny, and he go,
- 51:54Speaker 1: I go, thanks, Roland. One day, I'll get it. He
- 51:57Speaker 1: was just helping out with your victory dance set up. Um,
- 52:00Speaker 1: and then Jerk we find and then Donald, we finally kissed. Yeah,
- 52:04Speaker 1: but it was an awkward kiss. I think it might
- 52:06Speaker 1: have been our first and only kiss. I have we
- 52:08Speaker 1: ever really, I think our lips have never really held
- 52:13Speaker 1: togethers have touched, tips have touched. We docked, we've docked,
- 52:18Speaker 1: but I don't think that we um know, yes, we've docked. Donald, Yeah,
- 52:24Speaker 1: but like like, but I don't think we've ever kissed.
- 52:26Speaker 1: It was also disingenuous because you said this is all
- 52:28Speaker 1: it was, and that's not what it was. No, it's
- 52:31Speaker 1: right because there was open milk lip sandwich. There was lip.
- 52:34Speaker 1: You say, open milf lip sandwich. No, well she is now,
- 52:40Speaker 1: but it was lip lip lip lip, you know what
- 52:43Speaker 1: I mean, A lip stack, like a stack of pancakes.
- 52:46Speaker 1: That's right. And then my my last two jokes, we
- 52:50Speaker 1: should have done that. My last two jokes were I'm
- 52:53Speaker 1: going home from Sam just made me laugh so hard
- 52:56Speaker 1: that but you were the last one to hit him
- 52:59Speaker 1: too with the karate hit. By the way, he's not
- 53:04Speaker 1: mad at you. He knows it's again. I'm going on,
- 53:09Speaker 1: why did I write down boobies boobies boobies? Who says,
- 53:11Speaker 1: is that's where Donald uh St slept with the he
- 53:15Speaker 1: slew with a stripper at that time at boobies Booby
- 53:17Speaker 1: and Donald says that was you. You're like, yeah, but
- 53:19Speaker 1: I gave her your name. I really, I really love
- 53:23Speaker 1: the name of the strip club. Was Booty the worst
- 53:25Speaker 1: strip club ever? No, it would be a great name
- 53:27Speaker 1: for a strip club. I know what you get Tampa
- 53:30Speaker 1: in Tampa. The last joke I had was the janitor
- 53:33Speaker 1: talking to birds, and I didn't understand it because why
- 53:37Speaker 1: isn't he trying to kill these things and stuff him?
- 53:40Speaker 1: The only squirrels only into squirrels. He's only in the
- 53:43Speaker 1: squirrel My last joke, and that is it. I didn't
- 53:46Speaker 1: know if I liked at the beginning, when you were
- 53:48Speaker 1: thinking about the progression of relationships, you know what I mean?
- 53:51Speaker 1: I thought it was a little because we didn't shoot
- 53:53Speaker 1: it great. Remember, we had to kind of speed up
- 53:55Speaker 1: and slow down when you're like, yeah, when a couple
- 53:57Speaker 1: of meats a couple of this, couple of that. Then
- 53:58Speaker 1: I thought of the circus for summer reason, there's a
- 54:00Speaker 1: clown and dead juggling is too surreal, but I liked
- 54:04Speaker 1: those though I wish it was fantasy. I wish it
- 54:07Speaker 1: was a fantasy, but I loved the call back at
- 54:10Speaker 1: the end when you go to Donald quit acting like
- 54:12Speaker 1: some weird cowboy and he goes cowboy. You go, I
- 54:16Speaker 1: don't know, I just popped into my head and there's
- 54:18Speaker 1: no reason cowboy onoto Bill, why is there? Why is
- 54:21Speaker 1: there a fully dressed cowboy in the hospital. You probably
- 54:25Speaker 1: got hurt at the rodeo, man, by the way, the
- 54:27Speaker 1: rodeo and wherever we live. When we scripted it, I
- 54:30Speaker 1: think we probably thought it would be just a dude
- 54:32Speaker 1: with jeans and cowboy boots and the cowboy hat. But
- 54:35Speaker 1: that was a full cowboy. That was full cowboy. He
- 54:37Speaker 1: had everything. He went full cowboy. Um, Joel, do you
- 54:40Speaker 1: have a guest here? Here? We're gonna hearing a quick
- 54:43Speaker 1: break and when we come back, we'll be back with
- 54:45Speaker 1: the guests, and le Bill Lawrence would be right back,
- 54:53Speaker 1: and we're back, and we're back now, Daniel, can you
- 54:56Speaker 1: play the new song live? Because I really do like
- 54:58Speaker 1: to hear it. Oh? Yeah, absolutely, saw you have a
- 55:01Speaker 1: new song that that intros the guests, written by our
- 55:05Speaker 1: friend and supporter Travvy Wabby and the way Donald you
- 55:08Speaker 1: didn't reply to my sort of rough drafts of a
- 55:11Speaker 1: of a Casey theme song. I like the idea of
- 55:14Speaker 1: a Casey theme song. It's just you didn't like my
- 55:16Speaker 1: rough draft. No. I thought it was fire. You didn't reply,
- 55:19Speaker 1: you didn't say it. I want to lay down the vocal. Cool,
- 55:21Speaker 1: who's gonna sing that? It's me? I want Donald to
- 55:25Speaker 1: sing it? Okay, Charlotte saying the interrupting Bill thing. I'm
- 55:29Speaker 1: gonna have Charlotte Andrew Watt produce it yet produced Charlotte
- 55:36Speaker 1: doing it. But wait, Joel, will you coordinate please? Donald
- 55:42Speaker 1: singing the new track that I wrote Travvy Wavy can
- 55:45Speaker 1: produce it, but that I wrote for Casey's coming to
- 55:48Speaker 1: give a parental advice. Okay, Bill, here is a new
- 55:52Speaker 1: Travvy Wabby track to introduce our guests. We got a so,
- 56:01Speaker 1: you know, like a maybe talking about the episode. So
- 56:08Speaker 1: come on, let's get the show wait for us? Oh,
- 56:14Speaker 1: I like that. Yeah, hey, is that trumpet? I think
- 56:20Speaker 1: it's a thing on it with trump trumpet with one
- 56:24Speaker 1: of those things you put on the end of look cool.
- 56:28Speaker 1: I like that. That's great. Travy Webby, thank you, and um,
- 56:32Speaker 1: let's bring our I like how it there's a subtle
- 56:34Speaker 1: dig in there. It's like and maybe talk about the episode.
- 56:37Speaker 1: I no I noticed that. Bring on the guests, please,
- 56:41Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, give that up. Shall and Jose Welcome
- 56:49Speaker 1: to the show, guys. Um, we're so happy you're here. Um, Joel,
- 56:54Speaker 1: give us an introduction to how you chose these two
- 56:58Speaker 1: lovely people. Yeah, of course. Okay, So we had a
- 57:01Speaker 1: big conversation last week. I wasn't sharing who that wasn't
- 57:12Speaker 1: was going to respond to the request of people who
- 57:15Speaker 1: have slept with their partners best friends, but our listeners
- 57:18Speaker 1: did not. There was literally a tsunamia, people being like, yo,
- 57:22Speaker 1: I did it or it happened to me? Um, And
- 57:25Speaker 1: so you know, Michelle wrote in sharing her story and
- 57:28Speaker 1: I was like, we have to get her on the
- 57:29Speaker 1: podcast to talk about this. All right, So listen, guys,
- 57:38Speaker 1: if this is a way to have Zach Ordonald tell
- 57:40Speaker 1: me that they hooked up with Chris at something. No
- 57:47Speaker 1: crossing the line, Zach, you are crossing the he knows
- 57:51Speaker 1: I've had a few erotic dreams. Oh my god. Um,
- 57:56Speaker 1: so wait, guys, we're so glad you're here reminding you.
- 57:58Speaker 1: If you didn't hear last week's episode. Uh, JD and
- 58:02Speaker 1: uh and Carla hook up. They just kiss um. But
- 58:05Speaker 1: we were talking about, Oh my gosh, it's so horrible.
- 58:07Speaker 1: How could a friendship ever recover from that? And I
- 58:10Speaker 1: jokingly said to Joelle Well, I said on the air,
- 58:13Speaker 1: I wonder if there's a couples that would come on
- 58:14Speaker 1: and talk about that. And then Joelle's email got filled
- 58:18Speaker 1: with people that had, oh you got to hear my story,
- 58:20Speaker 1: my story, and she selected Michelle and Joseph. So, guys, go,
- 58:24Speaker 1: how did it happen? What went down? Well, first, I
- 58:27Speaker 1: feel honored that the email is flooded and I got picked.
- 58:30Speaker 1: I guess it was my septic line. But by the way,
- 58:36Speaker 1: we had such good humor about this already. It's just
- 58:38Speaker 1: a tip of the hat to you outstand it. Okay, Michelle,
- 58:41Speaker 1: how did it happen? What happened? So? Um, Obviously we've
- 58:45Speaker 1: all been in quarantine for the past year and Um,
- 58:48Speaker 1: his best friend was kind of in our bubble. He
- 58:51Speaker 1: recently went through a divorce right as quarantine was getting started.
- 58:54Speaker 1: He was really lonely, so like we just we scooped
- 58:56Speaker 1: him up into our arms. We've known him for ten years, like,
- 58:59Speaker 1: you know, come in. You know, every week he would
- 59:01Speaker 1: come over and you would just hang out, and you
- 59:05Speaker 1: know there lots of alcohol was consumed. Everything that's happened
- 59:09Speaker 1: has been sober. Let me just say that. Um, but
- 59:13Speaker 1: we just kind of realized that there was a little
- 59:17Speaker 1: bit of a spark there. And my husband and I
- 59:19Speaker 1: have been married for ten years. We've known each other
- 59:22Speaker 1: for seventeen years. We met in high school. We have
- 59:25Speaker 1: literally been the only people we've ever been with. Do
- 59:27Speaker 1: you guys grow up together? Like same town, same it,
- 59:30Speaker 1: forever and ever and ever type of thing, pretty close
- 59:32Speaker 1: like a town over very small Midwestern towns, so very
- 59:36Speaker 1: Midwestern sensibilities on a lot of them. And you guys,
- 59:40Speaker 1: you just said you you ran by it. But you
- 59:42Speaker 1: two have only been with each other, correct, Okay, all right,
- 59:45Speaker 1: well okay until recently, but we should have like a
- 59:49Speaker 1: Jerry Springer kind of show into Wait, but this doesn't
- 59:55Speaker 1: sound Jerry springerish. This sounds more like the what was
- 59:58Speaker 1: the movie The Big Chill? Was that? The one where
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: they're all hanging out in the cabin together. Yeah, that's
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: a great movie. Yeah, wonderful. Okay, Donald, Donald Zack, do
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: you see that? Just keep moving further back. Bill's getting
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: in the bathroom soon, all right, Michelle, gone ahead? Okay,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I love it. Um. We actually met on a blind
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: date at a high school dance and never looked back.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: So we've been the only ones, you know, and we
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: are totally in love and still are two kids, and
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: they're upstairs and I'm surprised they haven't killed themselves, Sir,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: killed each other while we were waiting for you guys.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: So we've been waiting so long. She's actually fucked two
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: of my friends. I'm talking about my build out. Look
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: at Bill, Bills, Bill's leaving you get him. I knew
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: this is gonna make a Bill uncomfortable. First of all,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: you guys are so evolved that you can't even talk
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: about like this. But I continue because I'm on the
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: edge my seat, So um if I can interjact real
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: quick too, And this isn't anything bad, but like, we
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: do have two kids, young kids, Um, and you have
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: really faced the brunt of the quarantine with them. So
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: for the last year, you've been working from home, and
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: we kept our kids home for the majority of the pandemic,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: So not only being able to interact with any adults
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: whatsoever besides each other, you were also with two children
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: eight year old and a five year old twenty four
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: to seven, Oka or Joseph, You're already way, You're already
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: way to understanding, all right, Michelle, But I don't understand
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: a headspace there because I was able to kind of
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: like my job. I was able to get out and
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: that I wasn't like going and winding and dining people
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: or anything, but at least I had other human interaction,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: whereas like, I can see how you're craving something that
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: isn't being Michelle continue please, Um, So I had I
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: started to have these feelings like what if, like life
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: is so short, like I we are going to be
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: together forever? Like I was just curious, and so I
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: actually approached him and we had many many conversations about it. Um.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: He was a little hesitant first, understandably because I'm great
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: and he didn't want to lose and I, I mean
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: I think it goes without saying I'm much other person.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Bill is now hiding under a flag ahead.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Oh wait, so when you say you approached him, you
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: mean you mean you mean Jack? You your okay, get crazy?
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: So this is a different takes of turn. You ask
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: permission from Joe to experiment? Okay, yes, yes, I said, um,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: you know, I have these feelings and like I was
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: going to put myself out there and ask this other
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: person and they could possibly say what are you? Are
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: you crazy? Like why would I do that? Um? So
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: after many talks, we said yes and like just open
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: communication about the whole thing. So I asked the other
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: person and he's like, heck, yeah, yeah, that's that's the
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: only thing I could have predicted about this whole thing.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: This other guy, I'm like, would you be interested in
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: kind of no strings attached hook up and you're not
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: gonna believe this, you know, me being attractive and and
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: she said yeah, I'm like no, wait, Joseph, this is
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: your friend too, So you did he did you? And
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: he talking out like you're I'm gonna give you permission
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: to have sex with my wife. You know we have
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: we have like an unspoken bond. I feel like, like
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I've known this guy for a long long time, and
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: I this sounds really weird, but I think of him
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: as more of like a brother, So maybe that gets
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: into a weird family tree. Is a wreath type of
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: situation here, but it was we made Bill Lawrence uncomfortable.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: By the way, this is going to be in Ted
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Last though, season three. So all right, so continue, How
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: did it go down? I mean, you don't have no,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: you don't have to be graphic, but tell us it
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: will not be details. Don't don't know details, But I'm saying,
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: how okay you can without telling his details? How did
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: the night itself go down? Like? How does it happen?
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: And I might marge in the aftermath too, is if
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: the afterwards of it? Yeah, okay, all right, Like was
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Joseph in the house? Did Joseph threw out for beers?
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Like what happened? So let me preface this by saying
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: that this friend comes over every week. Still he was
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: just up last night. We stayed up till three o'clock
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: in the morning, listening to music and just hanging out
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: like has not affected the friendship whatsoever. Um, So basically
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: the arrangement is every other week I go over to
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: our friend's house. He's single. I go over there, we
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: hang out, do whatever, um, and then I come home
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: and oh, it's an ongoing it's an ongoing thing. Oh yeah,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Oh so I have a question. Are you guys? I
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: mean question, are you guys perhaps swingers? I mean that's
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: a very common thing. No before this, like if anyone
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: were to like find out and a few people know,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: but not many. But like I am, as he said,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: we have very Midwestern sensibilities, Like we grew up very traditionally,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and like this is not anything that was ever in
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: the ballpark, like, but I feel like as we got older,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: like we kind of matured, you know, like sexually and everything.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Well you've got more experimental and stuff, and like we've
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: been together for seventeen years, so like you know, now Joseph,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: the old Joseph. The obvious question is are you allowed Yeah,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Joseph is a two way street? Are you allowed to
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: do that? If they're get that? And is there a
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: way that Zach Donald and I can make that happen
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: for you? Well, now I find out that I'm allowed to.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: But you never asked before? If you never saw on
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: the table, Joseph, you never thought to ask, Okay, I'm
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: gonna do this for which is which most men I
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: am assuming or couldn't do. But you never thought to ask,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: will I be allowed the same luxury we did. We
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: did talk about that. That's part of the conversation, and
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: he does have permission. I don't have any really good
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: friends that you would want to. It has to be somebody.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: It has to be somebody that you guys both know,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: is what you're saying. It can't be just some random
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I mean it could if he wanted to. I would
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: want to know who it is, um, and be open
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: about it. I like, I don't think that this would
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: evolve into like just meeting somebody in a back alley.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: But we've got some people that he has crush out.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: We've got our eye on a couple of people. No,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: not really, UM, where's flow? You know? Got interesting people? Okay? No, wait,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: So I just I just I'm speechless. But I we've
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: all seen those of us who aren't swingers. I've seen
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: documentaries and stuff on TV, and this seems to me
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: and like an open sort of relationship where there's a
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: bit of an agreement. And I just wonder if that's
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: what you guys have segued into. It sounds like it
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: to me, right or no. I mean it's a fairly
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: recent development, like the past couple of months, And part
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: of it is the experimentation. Part of it is the person,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: you know, the friend Like I'm you know, I would
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: never at this point at least to be like, hey,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I met somebody, you know, I've known them for a month,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Like I'm going to go off and do this thing
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: with them, Like there is still that very deep friendship
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: with this person who I'm very good friends with two
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: So it's just like it's totally a friends with benefits
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: type of situation. Joe, You're able to still see him
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: and be like, hey man, how you doing. Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I mean it really hasn't changed our relationship, you know,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: like we've always we've always been close. In fact, when
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: you mention it that you wanted to do this, I
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: was like, do you want me there? Yeah? It would
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: you have wanted to have been there if she said yes?
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: I mean maybe for moral support, like like a high five,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Oh my god? Or do not understand this generation. I'm
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: don't understand this generation. This is a very rare I mean,
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: I don't mean listen, I don't know anything about this
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: kind of world. I certainly don't could not handle this.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: I know you two couldn't handle this. The only way
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: if I if, by the way, the only way that
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: anyone would hear the story of me hooking up with
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: my wife's friend would be on date line and they
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: would be doing Yeah, they would be trying to figure
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: out what happened to Bill Lawrence. At the end, they
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: would go, why is all the carpeting removed from Christen's
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: card trunk? And why I'm just too jealous? And I
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: would just get in my head about it. Even if
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: even if I was allowed to do the same thing,
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I think I'm just too jealous for that kind of thing. Well,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: you guys seem to communicate in ways that young couples
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: often don't, which is fairly impressive. But have you've never
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: been a jealous guy before in your life? Are you
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: not a jealous person? I only recently got hot, so
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: hap I like, I don't see myself as like a
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: typical elfha male type of guy. And like when when
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: this whole topic was broached, there was my gut reaction
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: was like I should be really pissed off about this
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: because that's what guys do in this situation. Yeah, there's
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: a gender norms or whatever. Yeah, And I'm like, well,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: how much of that is my actual feeling and how
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: much is it what I'm supposed to do? And we
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: talked about this, and I was like, people like in movies,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: people and relationships over this, Like people kill each other
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: over things like this. But it's like, but like, I mean,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: other than the shock of first hearing it, I was like,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: you know, it's fine, It's it's just sex, you know, like, yeah, um,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: that's all. But I mean, but I mean, the human
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: heart is fragile, uh, and you have to be very
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: confident that you're not being very very confident. My fear
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: would be Joseph that you know, the obvious that she
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: would start to develop a more feelings for him, or
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: that they're having better sex or you know, I would
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: I would just Well, now that you bring that up,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: I think I do have a couple of questions. I
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: don't want to I don't want to ruin your guy situation.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I'm joking. We we we talked about all that, you know,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: in a lot of it came down to what my
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: initial objections were all about me how it made me feel,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: and it became more of like I didn't want this
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: because of my own ego, and you had told me, like,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: this is completely not about you, This is about me
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: as in you and it once I understood that that
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: it wasn't like I was or you were missing something
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: from me. It was something that you were giving to yourself,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I guess I understood it better. Yeah, And I will
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: say like through all of this, like I feel like
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: our relationship has gotten deeper on another level, Like there's
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: this trust that we have and we've always had it,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: but like the fact that you were able to take
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: a step back from yourself and you know, see what
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: I wanted. And I have always been a giver, like
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I take care of our kids endlessly. I take care
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: of everything. I think like he he would be dead
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: if I left, is part of it. I'm very reliant.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: So I will say that, you know, it seems that
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: it could help prolong I mean, on the plus side
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: of it could be prolonged your relationship because you clearly
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: love each other very much and you don't want to
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: there's not that desire to to be unfaithful because it's
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: all out in the open. You've you've you've spoken about it.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I mean that would let's see. I just I don't know, man,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: my lungs got tight thinking about it. What do you
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: have to say about this? Um? You know? I feel
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: like if it's what you if you guys have come
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: to an agreement and you both are understanding, you know,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: who is anybody to judge? You know what I mean?
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: This is your life, this is your marriage. What makes
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: you happy is what makes you happy. So absolutely, if
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: this is something you guys are both agreeing on, that
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: you both agree on, go for yours. Man, I will
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: say this. My wife would fucking murder me if I
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: stepped to her and was like, yo, So let me
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: just say this. I'm doing a show with this girl
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: and she's The good news is she's great. Great's awesome.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: I might just have Chris, so listen to this episode
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: of the podcast. Is so happy this couple sounds. Honestly,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: one of the things that made me really excited to
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: come on here is like this is a new thing
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: for us, and like we talk about it like it's
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: you know, it's it's evolving, and like, you know, I
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: feel really good about it. But you don't hear people
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: talk about this stuff. And you know, if someone listens
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: to this and be like, hey, like this is a
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: good example, like it can work because, like you said,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: in movies and in shows, you you know, the best
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: friends leaves with the life and then things fell apart.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think what you guys are
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: doing is out of the is an ordinary. There's a
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: whole bunch of people that live this way. But also
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: another thing is you didn't do it. You didn't cheat,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: You spoken exactly, exactly, and you came to an agreement
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: without um, you know, going behind the other person's back,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: which which betrayal is is so horrible. It's such a
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: horrible feeling. So you didn't betray each other. You were
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: open about it, and it just just so happens. You
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: you married a man who was who was open to it.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: That that that is a that is a different thing.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Um means you're probably a good match you too. Yeah. Absolutely,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: I do feel like Joseph should have his chance, though,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: but I don't want to suck anything else. He absolutely can.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: We have we have joked about Joseph looked through her,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: looked through all her friend photographs. Can you say an
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: automatic return guest visit when if Joseph ever, Oh, you
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: know how much stress that's just put on? This feels
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: I feel like LORI. If it happens for Joseph and
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: he enjoys himself, we'd be willing to pay for them
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: to go out with it. He said, yes, go on
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: date if you guys pay for it. Feels it feels
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: very um fragile. I don't want to fuck up the
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: thing you have. You guys have, guys got a pretty ecosystem.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: I think Joseph should come back on. You should both
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: come back on when Joseph has had his turn, and
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: we'll check it. Do you guys have any questions for us? Or? Oh?
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: We do? I totally forgot about the question. Go ahead,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: go ahead, we're going along, so maybe just do one
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: question and then it's a great question. Okay, good, So
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Zack and Donald, besides scrubs, what is your favorite thing
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: that the other person has been involved in, like a show,
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: a movie. Besides, I'm not allowed to talk about what
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Zach's involved in that I really really enjoy because it's well,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: you can pick something else other than the top secret project.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: I um I I guess I'm gonna pick an obvious one.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but I know. The joke on here is
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: that it took me forever to watch Remember the Titans,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: but when I finally did, I was genuinely blown away
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: by Donald's acting in the movie. I thought, you know,
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I know Donald mostly as a comedian, and I love
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: him as a comedian comedic actor, and of course he
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: is some comic relief in the movie, but I just thought,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: watching I was so proud when I watched him go
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: toe to toe with fucking Denzel Washington, probably one of
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: the greatest live not probably definitely one of the greatest
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: living actors there is, and I was blown away by
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: how good he wasn't that movie. Ever, So when I
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: first met Zach, you know, we joked that I didn't
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: read Garden State, but there are some other scripts that
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: were well, two scripts that he gave me that I
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: read that we won't talk about on the show, and
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: I just I'm I'm amazed. First of all, I'm amazed
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: by how bright Zach is like when it comes to
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: business and when it comes to creating things. He's, in
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: my opinion, him and Bill are like they freaking blow
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: my mind every time. And the things that they the
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: things that they think about, and the goals that they
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: you know, come you know, come at things with always
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: blows my mind. But Zach is an amazing storyteller. He's
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: an amazing storyteller. From writing it to directing it, he's
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: amazing at it. And and solos You're gonna be blown away. Now,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: I haven't watched it yet. I haven't watched it. You guys,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: watch it. What's going to thank you? See there we go?
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Maybe shotguard. Maybe you can watch you when you're at
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: what's his name's house. But I feel like I feel
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: like I'm a very lucky person to have these two
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: in my life, because you know, I'm getting to the
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: point now where I am starting to create things. And
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: to know that I have two best friends that I
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: can be like, yo, can you just look at this
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: and just tell me if I'm headed in the right
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: direction is a great comfort for me. So wow, that
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: was a good question. And we love you for a
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: great answers, man. And and we're going to work work
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: with Bill again one day on something because we three
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: of us are a good are a good trio. There
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: was a cool surprise one going now, Zach, Yes, there's
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: a top secret one that is in development. Donald probably
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: doesn't even know how juicy it currently is. All right, listen,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: we uh that you guys. I think you might win
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Best Guests. This was amazing. Want us to fix the life?
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: They fixed it already on there. The only thing they
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: need fixed is that it's Joseph's turn to equal things out.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Um uh, you guys, you're amazing guests, and I really,
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: in all honesty, no joke, I'm so impressed with how
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: mature you are about this and how you found a
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: way to make your marriage exciting. And kudos to you
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: and Joel. Very good guests, finding awesome guests, candid and
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: by the way, nobody gets to see people like we do.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: You can tell you guys really love each other. So
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: it's yeah, it was fun talking to and for the audience.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: You should know. Just to make this even more bizarre,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: they're both very good looking, right, I mean, these are
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: these are fine looking people. All right. I thought we
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: could end today with with Josh Raidens song because it's
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: in the episode Don't Look Away, which is a great song,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: and as you all know, we're only allowed to play
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: songs of our friends like the Charlotte Lawrence and the
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Josh Raiding. Um, but Donald, anything you want to say,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: you know, uh, it's been it's I thought this was
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: a great episode, very fighting. Thank you Bill. Yeah, I
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: want to thank Bill for coming on the show. For sure. Man,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: I missed it and I got to see these two.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: This is awesome. Michelle and Joseph one love Zach. Michelle
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: Joseph are symbolic that they were here. When I said,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: this is like your halfway point and so to me,
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: you guys, it's come back with you. Look as the
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: owner and creator of this podcast, who I think they
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: had a great choice in hiring you guys. Originally, when Danel,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Joel and I decided to go with Zack and Donald,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: one of the things talked about was going, if we're
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: going to do this many episodes of this show, right
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: at the midway point, that's when you juice it up
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: and add energy and kind of reinvigorate. I felt you
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: guys doing it today both with these guests, and that
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: was very savvy to have. I mean to have interrupting
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Bill when Bill was on that well, I don't know
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: how we ever returned from guests like these like, we
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: gotta have something insane story. The guests some insane story. Now,
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: this has got to be more and more crazy. This
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: is awesome. Okay, we invite you to send us here
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: insane story. Yes, if you have an insane story that
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: can compete with these two, we really want to hear it.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: All right, Thank you, everybody. Please check out Solos unlike
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: my three best friends on here and very good. All
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: you got to watch is the Anne Hathaway episode. It's
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: thirty minutes long. I'drect and check out the Anne Hathaway
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: thing of Solos and John Donald because I'm gonna watch.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: Is it called Wave or the Wave? You injustice? The Wave?
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: The Wave? Wave is a feature film with our friend
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Donald Fay is on it and my friend just watching it.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: So it's great, all right. And here is Josh radon
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Move Don't Look Away by as Reflection, the Windows Perfection. Look,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: can you see things? I can be the graves of
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: the past, moments don't last like you got to vote days,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: don't see my way what I want to day? But
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: don't you do love? No one knows true and not
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: even get you my show that I love like beleft,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: don't go anymore? Stars like spawn sun. I'm blind to
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: the only one who knows what to say. Say it today.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: It stands like a way break for my life in
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: the sound a simple blow wand today, don't do my man.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: No one knows true, not even let you my shot.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Ain't that I'm know I beleft. I don't go more.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: You can't see me now, all those games you play.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: I can't know you. No, I even more day because
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: I want to tell you. Don't look away if you do,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: not me. No one knows truth, not even you. You
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: let your mind shore hate that I've known I happened never.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Don't look away. Don't alay if you do not no
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: one knowing you, not even you, let you my shot. Half,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: don't gray, don't alay, do not man. No one knows youth,
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: not even that, even you, that even you, not even you,
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: not even you.
